Terrific BBQ

By DaveSS50 |

Their barbeque briskit is the best I've ever eaten. The meat on their ribs just fell off the bone. In short, the food is terrific. If only their ambience were as good as their food, this place would be perfect.

Great food, reasonable prices

By Miusa |

Outstanding BBQ choice and located easy walking distance to the Barclay Center. Dinned with friends and we a few dishes all were great. The fatty brisket and ribs were my favorites. Lots of mac and cheese choices...all good.

Good food

By Sophie1517 |

This place has very good meat. It's dry but the meat is so smoked that it still has a great taste. Their mac and cheese was cheesy and had good flavor. The only downside is the service was a little slow. Otherwise it was delicious.

Great Texas style BBQ!

By Maria K |

My family, especially my husband. and my two grown sons, loves BBQ. We frequent all BBQ restaurants in Brooklyn and we all have different opinions. Morgan's was one of my son's choice for his birthday dinner last night. It was not our first visit but we all agreed the food was really great. The pork ribs were perfectly seasoned and falling off the bone. The pulled pork was perfect; caramelized bark; juicy and tender. We did get lean brisket; still good but possibly should have ordered the fatty one. The pork belly tacos were amazing too, with citrus offsetting the fat. Overall, great BBQ!

A barbecue go-to

By dallas_blah |

Morgan's is a solid go-to for barbecue and for a comfortable bar in a terrific setting. Morgan's food on our most recent visit was good to very good, with the Chips and Queso appetizer a stand-out; not your Dallas Rotel stuff! A half-rack of ribs was plenty for the two of us; the cole slaw was very good; the smoked kielbasa sausage was very good; we appreciated an all meat sausage. A lot of barbecues serve sausages with cheese and jalapeno stuffing. Cornbread rounds out our order. On the boozy side, we drank a Frozen Bourbon Lemonade and a Smoky Margarita. We'll go again. The prices are in-line with other barbecues and the neighborhood. BONUS expansive outdoor dining TIP lots of TVs for watching sports SHOUT OUT to Emily B for terrific hospitality and attention at the bar

Fantastic Barbeque!

By GlobalVilla9er |

I went with a group, so I was able to try a variety of dishes. Morgan's Barbeque is fantastic! We began with a Fritos Pie, which was small, but delicious. Then we moved on to pulled pork, Pork Ribs, chicken and Mac & Cheese. Each one of them was amazing. The Pork Ribs were probably the best of the bunch. The meet literally fell off the bone as I was trying to hold it. The barbeque sauce was delicious. The food all arrived quite quickly. Then for dessert, we had Morgan's Bourbon Pie, which was a Pecan Pie, along with a Key Lime Pie. These were great as well, although they were a bit small for a $9 pie.

Excellent

Southern style BBq. Delicious. Not swimming in sauce like usual Northern Bbq places. Service was great and the pecan pie was one of the best I’ve had.

Tasty BBQ!

By MKNUCKLE1977 |

Definitely worth eating at if you are at the Barclay's catching a show. Had the brisket sandwich and my wife had the brisket mac and cheese. Both were very good, not the best I have ever had but worth checking out. My only knocks on the place were the shoestring style French fries (tasty but thin which isn't my style) and the corn bread which had green/red bell peppers in it which throws off the taste quite a bit. Delicious sweet spot BBQ sauce though!!!

Terrible service killed an otherwise good meal

By Allen G |

Ever been to a restaurant where the food certainly was very good, but the staff was so incompetent or unconcerned that you decided to never go back? This is Morgan's barbecue. This most recent visit to Morgan's was not our first experience of bad service there, but it will be our last visit. Their major barbecue offerings are brisket and chicken. And at 5:30 on a Saturday, after waiting forever to get her to take our order (no, they were not yet busy), the waitress nonchalantly informs us they are out of brisket. No problem, we order the barbecue chicken. Five minutes later, she informs us that they are out of chicken. She brings us our appetizer of a large order of a spicy cheese dip with tortilla chips and then brings a small bowl of maybe a dozen chips. Repeated requests for more produce nothing until much later when our dinner is finally served. Request for more hot sauce are ignored. The waitress apparently was trained to ignore empty water glasses and when she finally acted on repeated requests for water, she only served one person in our group. And on and on. When one of us politely went over to the manager and let her know that this server's incompetence was killing them, the manager responded appropriately to the feedback, offered to intervene, but nothing changed. The poor service continued. Having belabored the point here, let me acknowledge that the food certainly was good. But would I go back to this place? Sad to say, no. This was not our first brush with poor service at Morgan's, and having now encountered the pinnacle of poor service, I have no need to return here.

Great Q

Excellent pulled pork and brisket. Ribs fall of the bone. Limited wine list . Excellent service. Go after 5 when beef ribs are gone

Crave really good BBQ? Hit this place!!

By Michael C |

Strolling around solo, last night in Brooklyn looking for some good BBQ. Discovered this place and since it had outdoor seating and it was packed it was the logical choice. Outdoor seating consists of picnic tables and since I was solo I shared a table with a nice, fun young couple. Made introductions and it turns out the guy and I work for companies that partner with each other. Small world! I order a beer and what appeals to me is the Baked sweet potato with pulled pork on top and a side of Cole slaw. It was authentic as it gets! Tasty, smoky and falling apart at the touch of the plastic fork. Oh, yes all utensils are recyclable. Very sustainable. After dinner I peek at the dessert menu and opt for their home made pecan pie. It comes out in a small round aluminum tin, literally a whole small pie. I am able to eat half. Scrumptious!! Ambiance is down home, lots of young hip folks gathering to enjoy good food and company. My server, Sarah, was prompt and professional. Attentive but not over bearing. Water was refilled without asking, a good sign. Full bar inside. Tables inside too. Definitely a local home grown hang out. If you want good food with a neighborhood feel, this is it. Hard to beat good BBQ!

Standard bbq

By marield1990 |

Came here before a show at Barclays. It was the last summer night of October so we got to sit outside. We got the three pigs platter with a side of onions for my mom and I to share. It was plenty! The brisket was my favorite of the three meats. Pulled pork was second and the pork belly we didn’t like. It’s supposed to be nice thin melt in your mouth pieces and these were thick and fatty. Not pleasant. I’m not usually a fan of potato salad (couldn’t substitute) but I liked Morgan’s. Onion rings were standard. Our waiter seemed like he didn’t want to be there and only came over when he had to. When I asked if we could do onions rings instead of potato salad he just leaned over and pointed at the menu where it said so. I get it was my error I didn’t see that but it was like he was over it alls We had to ask for bbq sauce. There was none at the table and they didn’t automatically ask if we wanted. Overall a decent spot for bbq and before going to Barclays. Don’t expect amazing.

Why I get chicken at a BBQ joint

By Supreme F |

Morgan's is a really great, casual, affordable, a la carte restaurant. Great atmosphere and waitstaff; food always consistent. I go whenever I have the chance, solo or with a group. They have indoor and outdoor seating, table and bar service. My absolute favorite thing is their succulent smoked organic chicken (sold half or whole, served in pieces) which in charred on the grill prior to plating. It is brined before being smoked for something like 4 or 6 hours (I forget), according to an owner, which accounts for its tenderness and lovely smokey flavor. There are bottles of the house BBQ sauce on all the tables so it's easy to smother the delectable chicken in as much or as little of that as you wish so you don't miss the BBQ experience. For sides, their mac and cheese menu is excellent and the cole slaw is quite good (much better than the potato salad, I think). I like the corn in a cup too. I think everything is well prepared, simply suiting different tastebuds. I've been there with vegetarians in my party and I've been there several times when I've observed entire tables of vegetarians there for the sides, mac n cheese, and atmosphere. I think that speaks pretty highly of Morgan's charms! The only disappointment has ever been the stuffed potato which was barely topped with anything and was crowned with an embarrassingly tiny not-quite-blob of sour cream. Hardly what we were expecting from Morgan's. All in all, out of many visits over years and seasons, only one lunchtime potato ever disappointed and the chicken continues to amaze. Highly recommended!

Best meal in NYC

By David9_123 |

Visited New York for 3 nights in honeymoon. Stayed in Times Square and decided to go to a Nets game. We visited Morgan’s before the game and it was hands down the best meal we had all trip. 6 naked wings and a combo of brisket, ribs, smoked sausage with sides of mac n cheese and mash! Everything was delicious and the service was excellent.

EAT THERE

By Naveed K |

Don't need many words to describe this place - amazing! What awesome food - we had their beef and, jerk mac & cheese and sweet potato brisket. All top notch and simply wow. Service was great too.

Fantastic!

By Yodaman81 |

Fantastic food in a great location. Made the trek to Brooklyn for this based on recommendations and am surprised to see that it is not all 5 stars across the board. Cool set up that allows you to be seated inside and outside. Absolutely delicious food. Some detailed comments. For the wings wings the rub was well marinated and the taste covered through the meat. The pork ribs were fall of the bone delicious Chicken Tinga and Jamaican Jerk Mac & Cheese both very tasty We even ordered turkey and every one of us were surprised how moist it was

Great BBQ in Brooklyn

By Joe F |

If is wasn't for the traffic going by on Flatbush Ave it would be hard to tell one is in Brooklyn. This was very authentic BBQ with quality rubs on the meat and little BBQ sauce. The meats were high quality (recommend the turkey, pulled pork and brisket) and well prepared. The side dishes were diverse and tasty (try one or more of the Mac & Cheese options as well). Good craft beer selection as well complemented the meal. Service was friendly and very helpful. A definite place to re-visit on my next visit to NYC.

Must visit!

By Michelle R |

My husband and I ate at Morgan's for the first time less than a month after it opened in September 2013. We knew if we ever got back to Park Slope we would definitely eat here again. It was delicious the first time and just as good the second time around. I had the baked sweet potato with pork. My husband had the pork, pinto beans and slaw. All so good. My daughter got the special - a fried chicken breast sandwich. I had to try it because it looked so good - and I was right delicious! Wish Morgan's was in my neighborhood!

Juicy & tasty!!

By Am_et_Mat |

The best of Morgan's Brooklyn BBQ is in the plate: great meat, very well cooked and delicious sides. Don't hesitate ... try everything :) Really tasty bbq

A MUST-TRY in NYC

By Stephanie S |

The restaurant is trendy and great place for a date or with friends, not so much for families with kids. Small portions and big bill that can break a families bank. I have the Holy Trinity (brisket, ribs, sausage, & cornbread-great for 2, not 3 ppl). The Blackberry Lemonde is delicious. The Old Mac n Cheese is the best, ordered a 16 oz to share and it was barely enough for 2. Collard greens are must-try here and so is the whipped honey butter that comes with cornbread! Service was great although it’s hit or miss with ur favorite dishes, they seems to run out of food a lot.

Not Happy About Happy Hour

By LKM |

The pork ribs are great.Fish tacos are good but serving is skimpy. Sides (collards, slaw) only so-so. Mac 'n cheese is bland. What I find most irritating is their senseless happy hour policy: you can only imbibe half-price drinks at the bar. Other restaurants in the neighborhood serve discounted HH drinks at your table. From now on I will only do takeout and drink affordably at home.

Great food,great fun.......

By scartwright110 |

First time at Morgan's but it definately won't be the last.Amazing ribs, chicken, tacos and salads.Super service in a funky atmosphere.

Amazing food

By Andre B |

Been there yesterday before the nets game and had the beef ribs and it was super delicious. Friendly and fast staff, almost no waiting time and perfect dinner...what more can you ask for! Good job, keep it up!

Best bbq in park slope

By Klaradyn |

This is one of our favorite bbq places in NYC. Down to earth with great food, good sized portions and nice casual outdoor seating. I would highly recommend the mac and cheese, some of the best I have ever had. It does get crowded on weekends during lunch time so come early. They also tend to give preference to people with kids for tables which can be frustrating if you are already waiting for a long time and others can just skip the queue.

Fenomenal Ribs & Great Service!

By Phil |

I've been here a couple of times since day 1 and I'm a big fan of Morgan's! The Restaurant has a great atmosphere, in the summer with outside space at St. Marks Ave.. The staff is very friendly and quick, the food taste great and the ribs are out of this world. It's a great place to meet friends for Ribs and Beer or go with your family.

Great Meal before a Nets Game

By DellaM211 |

A few blocks walk from the Barclays Center - Morgan's can't be beat for excellent BBQ. Try the Frito Pie, wings, pulled pork - all of it is great. The brisket - to die for! Top your meal off with one of their amazing desserts - pecan pie, brownie, and key lime pie are the best.

Best bbq simply fabulous

Try this place you will be hooked,I travel from Manhattan to go there!

Our first experience in the US (maybe the best)

By Dávid S |

Close to Barcley's Center, very nice neighborhood, close to subway. Very friendly and helpful waitress. First we ordered nachos with queso for apetizer. It almost stuffed our stomachs, as the cheese dip was very thick, and of course very tasty. Second, we had smoked chicken wings (they tasted like pork trotters, excellent!) and beef rib with coleslaw. The rib was fabulous, soft inside, crispy outside, very well smoked, really tasty! I was thinking about keeping the bone as a nice remembrance.

Tasty BBQ Joint

By Selgart8 |

This is a great place to grab drinks and a hearty meal before heading over to the Barclay Center. We ordered the ribs, pulled pork, brisket, chili cheese fries, and chicken mac & cheese. The meats were well prepared, especially the brisket which literally melts in your mouth. The ribs were very tender as well. The service was decent considering how busy this place gets before Islander games. Our waitress was attentive and got our food out quickly. Overall this was a good experience and I would recommend giving this place a try.

It's authentic

By Marielawall3 |

I enjoy this place! Not comercial. The ribs are so tasty. If you come too late they run out... The wings are out of this world. Mac and cheese w/ jalapeño is amazing. I would love to eat here everyday. ..

Delicious BBQ

By Old and On the Way |

Especially loved the pulled pork, the corn in a cup, brisket (add sauce) and queso dip. Best to come with a crowd so you can sample the different BBQ offerings. Not for vegetarians!

Best barbecue

By Kerdija A |

Awesome place for barbecue it’s the best in Brooklyn I have ever tasted and the love the Mac and cheese ..the Jamaican Mac is my fav the meats are all so tender and tasty

Great option for dinner before going to the Barclays Center

By Dale L |

My son and I were in Brooklyn for the A-10 basketball tournament and were looking for dining options near Barclays Center. Morgan's Brooklyn Barbeque was great. Great selection of beer. I had barbeque pork sandwich and my son had the sliced beef sandwich. Both were excellent. I recommend trying the Jamaican Jerk. And you must have some pecan pie with ice cream for desert. We shared a slice and it was super. Total meal with beer and desert was about $50. Great atmosphere. Good food. Fun time.

Fantastic Burgers & BBQ!

By LindaTours |

Walked by this restaurant during lunch time and had to stop in and try it out, it smells amazing outside. Our server was super nice and helpful with the menu. We tried the bacon cheeseburger, the pork ribs and the fried chicken sandwich. Everything was so good, especially the cheeseburger with it's charred edges and maple bacon. The crispy french fries and blueberry lemonade just add to the superb entrees. Will definitely go back when we're in Park Slope again. Highly recommend this place.

Good BBQ in Park Slope, Brooklyn

By ES08 |

Really enjoyed dinning here on my trip to NYC. Lots of my friends said it was a MUST EAT place in Park Slope. It certainly did not disappoint. We tried many things on the menu for comapsion to other good BBQ places across America. The meaty brisket is divine. Super juicy with surprisingly very little fat and very well seasoned. The chicken wings are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Again very well seasoned. The collard greens were my favorite, soft without being mushy, spicy and tasty. The classic Mac & Cheese was lovely but a tad salty for my personal preference (could have been the cheese). Both salads we ordered were good, however the Kale salad was the best. The wedge salad was okay (for me I want it chopped up instead of a slab if for me to dig into). All drinks were good value for money. I liked eating here so much that I returned 2 days in row. The only let down was some of the wait staff, which proved to be inattentive at times causing us to constantly have to wave them down for more drinks or the cheque. #yougottaeathere

Surprise! GREAT Food!

By BimMon |

Kale salad! Kale salad! Order this to start -- come with a big appetite! Mac and cheese in many ways. Appropriately rich cheeses and additions and you'll smile through the entire meal. BBQ full flavored and ample. Terrific waitstaff -- very attentive and happy to treat their customers properly.

Awesome BBQ and Service

By Stephanie S |

Ventured out to BKLYN to see the Chris Rock show and stopped at this local BBQ joint with my boyfriend. The quality of food is all around fantastic and service was on-point. We ordered the Kale Cesar salad, fish tacos, a brisket sandwich, and mushroom mac- all really incredible and fun to share. Honestly- I will consider coming out to brooklyn again just to have this food (from the UWS). This restaurant is a must-try.

You'll never have Beef Brisket anywhere else!!

By Dane C |

I visited a few friends in Brooklyn and ended up going to this restaurant 3 times over the course of 6 days. Why? Two words. The beef brisket!!! Seriously. I have never had brisket that was so succulent, so sweet, and so utterly perfect. It literally melts in your mouth, and I don't care why! I've searched for comparable places ever since, but to no avail. Morgan's simply has the best beef brisket. I don't care if a bloody butcher served it to me in a meat freezer, I'd chow down with a smile. Realistically, the staff was quite nice and social too. The restaurant has an oaken "saw mill/lumber yard" feel in a beautiful look nook in the heart of Brooklyn and has carved out quite a little niche for itself. I'd recommend any type of group visit whether it's a family, a date, or just a place to get some beer and food. Did I mention the brisket was to die for?

Decent but Not a Destination Restaurant

By drichrx |

Very casual, loud pub decor typical of Texas BBQs near the Barclay Center. Ordered 1/2 pound of the lean beef brisket (wish I ordered the fatty because the lean was very dry) and a side of slaw. Everything is ala carte. Not even bread is provided. The meat had a nice smoke flavor but the sauce was ho-hum and only 1 variety. The slaw was one of the better ones, as it was more vinegar-based than mayo-based. Overall not any better than other BBQ places in the area (Hill Country, Pig Beach, Fletcher's, Dinosaur). Can get expensive. OK if in the area and you want Q, but nothing special and cannot compare with BBQs in Texas and especially KC. Certainly not deserving of being on The Best Restaurant in America show.

Great service, great beer

By Steve_Lew79 |

Great service, great beer and great food! We had one of the platters, the holy trinity, and a Mac n cheese, and a stuffed potato! Along with a couple jars, of great craft beer! A must if you visit Brooklyn ! Go early on a”Nets” game night

Worth a visit.

By marktraveller09 |

A trip to Prospect Park planned but in need of a rest, food and drink first. Wandered down Flatbush Ave and found this place. Nice and open with inviting vibes. We were not disappointed. The beer served in jars was quaint and the food was wholesome and reasonable value. Worth a visit if in this area.

Nice BBQ place

By ErisShaw |

It was my birthday adventure, before heading to the Barclays Center for Nightmare before Christmas(Wednesday show) We read reviews on this place. As with any BBQ joint, its a matter of personal taste. They sat us at the "bacon" table. They gave us a complementary plate of candied bacon, Who doesn't like bacon on her birthday? It tasted sweet with a bit of heat. I called it my birthday bacon. WE had brisket, ribs and pork belly, collard greens(husband) mac and cheese. I enjoyed the sweet sauce. I happen to love BBQ on the sweeter side. Everything was good ribs slid off the bone, pork belly was nice and tender as it should . The lean brisket had a good tug and delicious. I am very picky about BBQ or my friend says I'm a BBQ snob. They also know you are going to a show so service was quick. Only thing I took points off walking in a strong smell of bleach, for whatever reason. If you like BBQ before a show come here to eat.

RATS IN THE DINING ROOM

By Sakinah S |

They have RATS in the dining room! Just visited on Friday 2/23/2024. We had the place to ourselves, but we had yet to find out why. After placing our orders, my partner saw 2 rats running around in the section behind us. When I turned around, there they were! We were seated right in front of the view into the kitchen, so needless to say this disturbing vermin issue was made even worse! We immediately grabbed our belongings and told the server. She calmly apologized. Calmly. Not surprised. THEY KNOW. DON'T GO.

An very delicious surprise

By Yupi67 |

The BEST restaurant in Brooklyn! We stopped here by providence. We were going to the restaurant next door , but they didn’t have an available table until 9 and it was around 7:45, so we went for plan B. Listen, visit this place and you will see. I had the beer brisket (the fatty ones 😁) and my husband had the sandwich. Yummy 😋.

Excellent BBQ & Mac N Cheese

By Ric F |

Outdoor seating, BBQ meats, Mac N Cheese... What's not to love? The BBQ is great and they even have a "lean" brisket option. Add to that a Mac N Cheese menu and this place is a must stop for anyone loves BBQ & Mac N Cheese. Priced fairly, delicious apps (especially the chili) and cold drinks round out the place.

DISGUSTED

By Jason F |

OMG! I ordered takeout by phone. Holy Trinity and Bacon Mac and Cheese. Went home and was horrified by what I paid $60.00 for: 3 Pieces of dried out ribs, stale corn bread, 1 tough piece of sausage, 1 piece of spoiled looking pickle, 2 sweet peppers, and ZERO (0) PIECES OF BRISKET. The Mac and Cheese was dry and stale. Can you believe that? And by the time I got home with my order they were closed.

Best BBQ in NY So Far

By Dale K |

Every time we visit NY we try to go to a different BBQ place and often venture back a couple times. We have been trying a few places in Brooklyn and on top of my list has always been Fette Sau. But we recently tried Morgan's BBQ and have to say it was one of the best BBQ places I have ever been to in NY. Every single dish was tasty and we tried most of them and when one of the owners heard we were from South Africa, he personally came to our table to chat and then sent us some more amazing dishes to try on the house, including the Frito Pie and smoky Queso dip which were outstanding! Well done - we will certainly will be back when we visit NY again!

Excellent Food & Great Atmosphere

By Jane B |

Everything was incredible. We had a ton of incredible meat (including the Ginormus Beef Rib) along with a ton of sides. The food was good enough we actually ended up stopping by the next day for brunch.

Always fabulous

By Mr. Fabulous |

Any chance I get I eat here,I live in Manhattan and I make a trip to eat here or if going to Barclay's center it's only two blocks away. The food and service is always on point, great drinks, best candy bacon, cornbread, brisket and ribs yum!

Great food!

By opjp |

Made a reservation (a must) for after a hockey game at the Barclays. The host honored it and we were seated quickly. The place is small, so reservations are a must if going after a event. The table service we received was ok at best. Our waiter was not around too much but the other staff picked up the slack with refilled waters and a order of slaw that never came out. The food was very good. Our party shared both fatty and lean brisket, burnt ends, bowl of chili, wings, slaw and the smoked steak. The chili and burnt ends were out of this world! disappointed that they were out of ribs by 4:30 pm?? prices are not cheap but it's quality bbq, will be back!

Local before the isles v rangers game

By windy1875 |

Lucky enough to get tickets for isles game against biggest rivals the rangers and we went to morgans before ice off. Good local beers and great BBQ pork ribs pulled pork and beans all delicious. No fancy table settings etc but if you like BBQ you won't care about the decor.

Excellent Pork Ribs!

By Per D |

Game in on a late decision we got a table quickly and order Pork Ribs (1 lb). The ribs were superb. Definitely recommend this place!

Morgans Brooklyn BBQ Eddie the waiter.

By Michael O |

I bring customers and have meetings at this restaurant. The food is great and there is a waiter name Eddie that makes the experience amazing. He knows what we drink and eat and how we like to be served. He is so king and nice and makes it easy to make a decision to eat here instead of anywhere else.

Ye-ha, 5 star.

By MrNoodley |

Smashed it. Smashed us. The lovely waitress doubted our intent, but we were all in for this BBQ trip. From the moment the wonderful meat slid off the rib bone, we knew we were in a little BBQ oasis. Brisket, ribs, wings, pulled pork, mash and mac – all boss! All the meat had a solid kick, so did the table sauce and the hot sauce for the wings was on point. Decent place, all the usual style cues but to be honest, it's all about the food and staggering down Flatbush Ave afterwards, feeling twice as big. Out the park. Into Morgan's! Winner.

barbecue before the islander game

By Andrew K |

About three blocks sough of Barclays on Flatbush. Went before the islander game. As with any event try to get there early or there will be a wait. Got brisket and mac and chesse with my daughter. They have a nice selection of cocktails and house made sweet tea. They also give you the meats "dry" and you can add sauce which I prefer. Brisket did not need sauce as it was very tasty. There is outdoor seating but it will depend on the weather. Also noticed a good section of scotch on bar wall.

Rustic Barbeque

By 876rogerv |

Hidden gem in Brooklyn with a rustic cool vibe. Great barbeque offerings without the typical myriad of masking sauces. Authentic barbeque done with care. Great bourbon selection.

Bar and Bar-B-Que

By Thomas V |

Nice bar late at night and especially nice on a warm evening when one can sit outside on the picnic benches. Convenient location. Good service,

Nice place for a different brunch

By PedroOmar |

I had never visited a brunch place like this. The combination of the BBQ meat and the breakfast was very offensive. The prices are very good and the service excellent. I want to go back for dinner with a good beer ....

Vibrations from the subway only add to the hip atmosphere.

By Angela D |

Warm and inviting for a trendy spot near Barclay Center. Tadty but Portion sizes fall short...our waitress was not very good with eye contact, but could be due to lack of staff @ lunchtime on a friday...I enjoyed the chesse burger Mac ' elbows' which featured grass fed beef for $7. It was tasty but needed a larger bowl to enjoy the lettuce & pickle topping. My husband had pulled pork sandwich w a side of potato salad - for $10.50 he expected more meat, but tasty. The vibrations from the subway below and interior had a warn out look but vintage ceiling was a plus.

Tasty barbeque, try the pulled pork

By Chris |

Pulled pork, pitchers of beer, what more do you want? Took us 15mins to get a table but the food was served quickly in paper containers - not a fancy restaurant but good ambience.

NYC Restaurant Week $30 for Three-Course Dinner - Yummy Food in good deal and wonderful service! Friday, August 1, 2025

Average BBQ in Brooklyn

By Andreas S |

We went here as part of a 5 stop BBQ hop. We ordered ribs, brisket, candied bacon and mac and cheese. The ribs were disappointing. They were dry and tough. Might have gotten a bad batch, but regardless, no high marks there. The brisket was good. It was tender and moist. The candied bacon and mac and cheese was very good. However, all the meats weren't very smoky and didn't have that much flavor compared to other places. I probably wouldn't visit here again. Other places are better.

Amazing neighborhood barbeque!

By Marcus L |

My daughter, who lives in Brooklyn, brought us to this favorite of hers. It is a very casual place, but your feet leave the ground, once you walk in and experience the aroma of the smoked brisket etc. We had a very cute waitress who made several excellent suggestions. I also had a smoked bourbon that was magical. The brisket was SO tender and flavorful, it was wonderful! Everyone in our party of six said their meal was a memorable experience. The menu is extensive, there is an outdoor patio and also a wide selection of beers. If I didn't live 2000 miles away, I'd be there often.

DE-licious

By William G |

Visiting from out of town for a few weeks and always looking for good barbecue. We definitely found it here. We ordered carryout and went with the brisket and pulled pork. Both excellent. Sides of cornbread and slaw were pretty good. The carryout order was ready in no time.

Awesome meat

By Michielves |

Good and fast service. Was very crowded when we got there, just before a nets game but still got a spot. Got our food within 10 minutes. Pulled pork tasted very good and it was a real bbq meal. Mac and cheese tasted good and wide variety in portion size. Note: The location is different then indicated by tripadvisor, it is actually south of bergen st station.

BBQ in Brooklyn of all places!

By Jeff F |

Came here on a crowded night before a concert at Barclay Center, liked it and decided to come back for lunch, not crowded so the service was much better. The BBQ is excellent: ordered the Holy trinity and we have enough leftovers for 2 more dinners. The same with the fried chicken platter. Candied bacon, mac n cheese and cornbread all excellent ... we'll be back!

for a classic bbd lunch

By Monpetit |

If you know what you are here you wuill not be disppointed... Classic bbq diner with very good cole slaw, clasic burgers, nice bbq type ribs... Good beer. It's not the Plaza but you know it before going in.

Good ambience set the stage for this BBQ joint. Food was good and seasoned just right. The meat is sold by the lb but be aware, some of the items marked MP (Market Price) like the beef rib could be a bit pricey. I love how they serve beer in these jars, quite authentic.

So disappointing

By Lisa B |

I first learned of Morgan’s over the summer and they had burnt ends. Food was great. Couldn’t wait to go back! On a date last night I suggested Morgan’s solely because they had burnt ends. Sit down and they were removed from the menu. Ughhh. Strike one. Ordered the candied bacon and barbecue wings. Food comes out three minutes late and it is Cool. It was sitting in a warmer they threw some sauce over it and sent it to the table. Ordered a drink. They served it with some suspect looking limes. Threw the limes out. Drinks were watered down. Ok meal time....My date and I ordered the holy trinity potato salad, and traditional mac and cheese. The meats were delicious. Ribs fell off the bone, brisket was tender and flavorful. Even gives you a side of cornbread. The mac and cheese was not bad. Cheesy definitely not stove top. The potato salad was terrible. First off it was red had red peppers in it, crunchy and hard potatoes. All it needed was raisins and it would have officially been the worst potato salad in the world.

Not for everyone, but if you love barbeque, this is for you

By Dale L |

Not fancy. Not a lot of variety. But the barbeque is outstanding. A fun place to stop for dinner. Came with my son in a break between afternoon and evening sessions of the A-10 tournament at the Barclay's Center. Very convenient to Barclays. Food is great.

Great indoor / outdoor seating

Had a light lunch. Really nice service and cocktails. Pulled pork was excellent, service attentive and efficient. Great location, casual and excellent

Great BBQ!!

By Marlys P |

We had Turkey Tails, Greens, 2 kinds of Mac and Cheese and Cornbread. Every dish was wonderful. Nice serving sizes and price. Friendly wait staff that was very efficient in providing good service. Texas style BBQ.

SO not worth it

By nebali67 |

There's no longer happy hour outside, the food is bad (not just okay; it's pretty bad), service on a slow night was fine (but not great), and it was dumb expensive, particularly since the food is so bad. I've been here before, and I now remember why I rarely go back. Regarding the food: it's bland (even the tortilla chips and guacamole), it's not served at the right temperature (luke warm tacos that should be hot), it's SO overpriced... DISAPPOINTING

On point

Great little BBQ place near the Barclay Center. We were blown away by the food and service. Made to feel at home and fed amazing wings and brisket. 100% recommend this place.

Mac and cheese a let down

By Diana C |

I went to Morgan's with my boyfriend because i was raving so much about their mac and cheese, but sadly I was disappointed. This time it was dry, I was looking forward to their delicious goodness of mac and cheese but that's not what I got. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are friendly

Hello Texas - in Brooklyn

By Steve B |

I don't normally associate Brooklyn with barbecue, but that's all changed now, thanks to Morgan's Brooklyn Barbecue. Being a barbecue fan, I've enjoyed it from Texas to South Carolina, and out west. This is one of the absolute best barbecue joints I've encountered. The brisket (fatty), is delectably seasoned and melts in your mouth. But hurry - they ran out of the fatty brisket partway through our meal and switched to the lean, which is also delicious, but not quite as yummy as its fattier cousin. Pulled pork was equally delicious, and the pork ribs were so fine with their dry rub they didn't even ask for sauce, thought the sauce is also wonderful. Some barbecue places do superb meats (like here), but fall short or cut corners on the sides. Not Morgan's. The coleslaw was a hit, as was the collard greens, and the cheesy corn. The potato salad was good, but doesn't impress as much as the coleslaw or corn, and the mac and cheese, well, it's OK, but not great. Drinks are good here, not cheap, but they house-infuse some of the ingredients and they're quite tasty. I enjoyed a jalapeno-infused drink that was a nice complement for the barbecue. All in all, if I lived in Brooklyn, they'd probably have to give me my own table here, but I get the feeling that by this time next year (or sooner), I might have to fight for it. If you enjoy world class BBQ, and you just can't make it to Austin this week, head on over to Morgan's. This is the real thing, and the real thing is divine.

GREAT BBQ!

By bonnielizzette |

Came here with a few friends for dinner and we were really impressed. The food was delicious and the BBQ sauce was great! We ordered pulled pork, fatty brisket, lean brisket, beans, potato salad and 3 types of mac and cheese. I like that their menu is no frills and you can order large sizes and basically eat family style. The beers and dessert (brownie & ice cream) were also really great. We had plenty of leftovers, which unfortunately didn't last in my house. There was about a 10 minute wait, which isn't too bad for that neighborhood.

Amazing Brunch without the lines

By Lia |

Finally had waffles and chicken for brunch with raspberry lemonade and my partner in crime had the chicken wings naked with the Jerk Chicken Mac and Cheese....... All I can say it was the best way to kick start your weekend. The food was amazing, I am not a mac and cheese fan but I swiped a bit from my patner in crime.... The staff were friendly and warm, the atmosphere was buzzy without making your brain hurt.

Good place for barbecue

By Ethan F |

On bikes after visiting The Brooklyn Museum we needed a place to eat dinner on the way to the Manhattan Bridge. It looked like there was a bike Lane leading there and Barbecue sounded good for dinner. We were looking for outdoor dining to watch over our folding bikes near our table. They have communal style picnic tables outside which was just fine. The subway rumbles beneath the street. The sounds of Flatbush Ave. Brooklyn are ever present and the food was very good! I would recommend it. The brisket and pulled pork were excellent and the beer was too! Sweet potato was excellent as well and though we did not like the Collard Greens, you may not agree.

Disappointed

By Minajay |

I had been to Morgan's 3 times, and had a good experience each time, so was expecting good food and service during my recent visit (which was a carry out visit). Well to my dismay, the food was not good at all. My friend ordered ribs and received 1 rib. 1 rib! I never knew a restaurant could/would do such a thing. To make matters worse, my smoked chicken was undercooked. The only good thing on our entire order was the coleslaw. Don't think I will be returning to Morgan's anytime soon.

Good Barclay's Center option

By William T |

Website said it doesn't take reservations, but we didn't know that and called them directly and they accommodated our group of seven. Good attentive service, we were there during happy hour and they had a special on the tacos, which the table loved. I had the brisket sandwich which my server recommended I get plain then add sauce at the table, good tip. Good smoky and tender. Only 3 block south of Barclay's, 5 minute walk. ..

Great BBQ in Brooklyn

By Fuji728 |

A friend recommended meeting there and I was a little hesitant because I just joined Weight Watchers but you can order the BBQ by the 1/4 pound so it worked out great and the service and food is great!

The best

By 2x210us |

Our 2nd annual visit to this fabulous barbeque restaurant. 6 of us visited twice during the A10 basketball tourney. So many yummy things. Brisket outstanding. Potato salad excellent, we all had different items and argued as to whose was the best. Service was very good for a busy time. Learned they are may be opening a place in pittsburgh by next year which is perfect b/c tournament moves there next year. Go VCU Rams!

Great BBQ and great staff

By Coggsy |

Me & my dad caught the subway to watch a nets game and found this place on my phone. I Have to give it a review as it was that good. Really enjoyed the food (wings and brisket sandwich) and the staff were friendly most welcoming people we met in new York 👌🏻

A nice joint

By yum-hum |

I really like this place, great place for some beer and bbq. There are a few things on the menu I would still like to try but I live over 40 miles away. I went with my family on Father's Day. I loved the decor and the vibe of the place. The staff was very attentive. I never saw my drink go below half full. Now to the heart of this visit. The BBQ was good. The Brisket was so tender it was to die for. I just wished it had a bit more of a kick. But please, go for the fatty brisket. The ribs were nice and smoked but it seems they first boil the meat and then they smoke it. It is a style, just not my style. I prefer a slow smoke without boiling of the ribs first. Other than that it was nicely prepared and seasoned. I wish they had a few more options with their sauce. It was good but I like a sauce with a little more kick. If I lived in the neighborhood I would definitely come back. However my quest for the perfect rib will have to continue. By the way their beans are amazing!

The Brisket here is outstanding!

The Brisket here is outstanding! Literally melts in your mouth. Great atmosphere. Friendly, nice bar. Will go again. Did I mention the Brisket is outstanding?

Texan Approved!

By eugenia27 |

It doesn't matter what part of the country you're in but when you're a Texan, bbq is a must eat no matter where you are. And I was always curious how people up north do their bbq so this was my chance. I happened to run into Morgan's by pure chance when I was walking around the Barclay's area, and I was intrigued by the bustle of people for late night barbecue. Surely, this place knows how to grill if people are still wanting it past 10pm. Just by glancing at the menu and taking a look outside their patio, I knew I was getting myself a real treat. If there is a separate stand just for mac & cheese, you know this place has to be legit. Most of the more popular meats like the beef ribs were sold old already (no surprise). But I still got to try out some of their delicious pork belly, fatty brisket, coleslaw, potato salad, cornbread and old school mac 'n' cheese. It was perfection. It tasted nice and smokey, and everything tasted really fresh and flavorful. It felt so much like home. If I'm ever around the area again, I'm coming back to Morgan's. Its got this Texan's approval in good ol' barbecue!

Lunch

By Taz |

Went here for lunch. Service was very good. The food was absolutely sensational. The pork belly is amazing. I’d be back in a heart beat. Very nice seating area outside as well.

First time and the food wasn't bad.

By Brenda A |

Saw a post on Instagram regarding this restaurant and saw that the food looked damn good. The brunch menu looked good but didn't want to go out. I made a reservation but cancelled and decided to have my food delivered. I had the regular mac and cheese which was quite good as I'm not really a mac and cheese lover. I also ordered the Baker's dozen smoked wings which I loved but my teenage daughter didn't like. She didn't enjoy any of the food which was shocking since she mac and cheese and hot wings are her favorite foods. I guess it's the smoked taste. I also ordered the chips and queso (which they forget but Caviar refunded me) and the brownie (which was too sweet for me). Don't know if I'll go for dinner again but I might try their brunch.

Fun Hip Place for Barbecue

Great Barbecue

By Camper177536 |

Attended an event at Barclays Center recently and our family had dinner four blocks away at Morgan’s Barbecue. It is a casual neighborhood restaurant with a very attentive waitstaff and authentic Texas barbecue. We sampled the slow cooked smoked brisket, chicken wings & pulled pork, all mouth watering. Try the cornbread, homemade coleslaw or collard greens & you won’t be disappointed. Topped the dinner off with a very delicious key lime pie and bourbon pecan pie! Looking forward to next event and to dinner at Morgan’s Barbecue, a gem in Park Slope!

Lovely BBQ food in Brooklyn close to Barclay Centre

Lovely BBQ food in Brooklyn close to Barclay Centre perfect before going to see an event. Staff are polite and service is excellent.

Great BBQ in Brooklyn!

By Charlie D |

Just had a fantastic dinner at Morgan’s Barbecue just down the street from the Barclay’s Center! Great BBQ, outstanding Mac&Cheese and delicious drinks. Great variety of bourbon and scrumptious desserts. If I didn’t know better I would have sworn I was south of the Mason Dixon line! Go and eat - you won’t regret it!

The Best Wings in the World

By Presto67 |

Had dinner at Morgan’s prior to a Nets game. Ordered a dozen wings as an app and they were hands down the best ever. Get them naked and put your own sauce on them. Mac and cheese is excellent too. Had the smoked turkey sandwich which was also great. Best kept secret in Brooklyn.

Awesome!

By Nocas79 |

Was there tonight for dinner and loved it! Had the ribs (that were delicious) and my husband the brisket (also very good), the mac n' cheese taste just like home made and my coconut margarita was great! Highly recommend

Oh so good!

By Kizzie C |

The food is so good! The brisket is absolutely divine, the bread is so soft, and the mushroom mac is the best!

Wow!

By Grazia V |

Myself and my boyfriend we’re in Brooklyn for a basketball match at the Barclay centre and read about this place online. We were not disappointed the meat is cooked to perfection, the food came quickly and the staff were helpful and friendly. Rustic and casual feel inside, eating from paper plates. Simple and delicious food! And the homemade bbq sauce is to die for! Definitely recommend

Flavored to Perfection

By Intrigue L |

The Brisket is definitely to be ordered fatty.... The good kind of fat of course. Mac n cheese is awesome... Tried the jerk chicken mac which is good but I prefer their regular Mac n cheese. The Turkey is delish and tender.. The sausage actually pops when you bite into it (that's the good stuff). Their cornbread is also moist and best when warm. You'll def make this place a fav.. I plan to knock the menu out by mid September lol...

Happy Hour

By Steenis |

Happened to pass this place after a long walk on a warm summers' day and decided to sit down and have a drink. And taco's. And another drink .... Absolutely loved it there, great food and service. Next time we're in Brooklyn we'll definitely go back!

An excellent Bbq place

By רמי ד |

We had 2 southern style BBQ dishes. Both were great as well the beer. Meat was always without sauce so we added exactly what we liked. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is friendly-local. You can sit outdoor if weather permits.

Amazing Brisket

By Randi S |

The brisket, cornbread and bacon were fantastic. The ribs were the most disappointing. Didn't have much flavor but did fall off the bone. The pork belly was so dry we couldn't eat it. The sides were OK. Would definitely go back for brisket bacon and cornbread because they were that good.

Great but with flaws

By Curtis B |

The service was okay, food was excellent but a bit spicy as far as BBQ goes, and I didn't receive a knife with huge chunks of meat. Decor was super typical for Brooklyn but lacked uniqueness.

Awesome

By Kiel S |

We went here before Imagine Dragons, what a find. The atmosphere was great and food even better. Service was excellent well looked after by our waitress. Would definitely go back there again in a heartbeat.

Good BBQ, Excellent Cornbread

By Polaroids & Drinkin Stories |

Stopped in for lunch on a nice Saturday afternoon. Friendly staff. Seating inside and out. I sat outside. They have communal like picnic tables. Some with shade some without. I tried the brisket sandwich and collard greens. Both were pretty good. I got the brisket "naked" (no sauce) my feeling is good brisket shouldn't need sauce so I alwasy wanna try it without first. I also got some cornbread and maybe this sounds like a negative but that was the best part of the meal. It was so damn good. Prices pretty average, I actually expected to pay more due to the address.

Texas approved

By LosttexanNYC |

As a Texan living in NYC I'm always judgmental of BBQ. This place is my go to barbecue spot and always passes with praise. Frito pie is mandatory and you can't go wrong with the beef rib. Friendly bartenders when you're eating solo and the food travels well when getting takeout.

Very tasty

By Birgit5M |

We were searching for a place to eat when a very friendly lady at the traffic lights suggested morgans. The athmosphere was good as well as the music. The food tasted very nice! We had pork ribs (they have a pepper crust that is very nice), Pulled pork (yummie) accompanied by potato salad and Mac 'n cheese. Loved it. Too bad we are not around more often. 1/2 lb of ribs is enough if you're not a big eater as well is 1/4 Pulled pork with Side dishes.

What a great night!

By JenniferI1 |

We went here prior to a concert at the Barclay Center. The atmosphere was really welcoming and warm. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious, interesting and somewhat eclectic with this incredible variety of mac-n-cheese dishes (amongst other things). They were wonderful. The Jamaica Chicken Mac-n-cheese was quite spicy just FYI. Highly recommend this spot!! ❤

Lunch with my Aunt

Cool atmosphere just food was wayyyyy toooo SALTY!!!! And at time of visit soo much construction was going on.

Happy Hour - great beer special!

By Mary B |

What a great place to stop at the end of the afternoon/early evening! Weather permitting this is a fun spot when the sides are opened up and you can sit inside or outside and enjoy the neighborhood activity. Nice beer selection, attentive and pleasant waitstaff. Food items looked good, but we only drank beer!

Some of the Beat BBQ I ever tasted in NYC🙌🏽

By Stephanie S |

The food is delicious! Some portions for a big bill though. Best for friends & couples, a family will hurt the bank! I had the Holy Trinity combo for 2 ppl (too small for 3); which is 4 slices of brisket, 4 dry rubbed ribs, 1 spicy sausage, & 4 little slices of cornbread. So good! I ordered the 16 oz Old Mac n Cheese (good not great) and that for two ppl barely. Ordered a side of collard greens (it’s a must there!) Cornbread was ok, a little different than ur traditional cornbread but the whipped honey butter is amazing, must try! The place was trendy, low-lit ambiance but your favorite dishes may not be available to try due to how busy they can get. It’s hit or miss but definitely worth the effort!

Great Brooklyn Surprise

By WGC73 |

Hit Morgan's for a late lunch after Nets game @ Barclays Center. All 4 of us had the brisket sandwich on waitress rec with coleslaw on the side. We shared a mushroom & Gruyere mac n' cheese appetizer & it was best m&c any of us have had. House sauce on perfect brisket was way beyond anything we expected. Chased the bbq w/Six Points Bengali IPA & Belgian Witt for my wife. Not for everyone, but we'll go back!

Near Barclay's

By JMOTM |

We had an early dinner here before attending an event at the Barclay Center. While overall the price was probably in line with the neighborhood, it did seem a little expensive. We really enjoyed their cornbread, as well as the sliders and the quesadilla. The new bacon ribs were quite tasty.
