Standard fare. Good nonetheless.

By David H |

We all know Mortons. Dingy, big portions pretty bland. this is no different. Salads are pretty poor, soup OK and steak very good.

Restaurant servers

By Delroy A |

Mary Ann & Rocio are great servers. They are friedly, kind, courteous and very attentative to details.

Know to save

Food and service as usually great for Landrys chain. Sing up for Landrys select and Mortons sometimes has $40 filet and lobster special!

New offerings

By Kismet1999 |

Morton's has new catering menu and now offers breakfast selections. They also have a new transportation service for lunch, dinner and special events. Always the perfect place for HH, lunch and dinner.

Looks like this place is getting to be average

By Krishna M |

We went for restaurant week for dinner. The front desk struggled to find our reservation, but finally seated us. Since our reservation was made under "restaurant week" (fixed menu for $45 PP), we were kind of treated like second class. My steak was done well (but I ordered medium), and was told it was OK. The fish Mrs ordered was also nothing to write home about. All in all, average. I have been their guest in Houston before, in DC, Chicago, Columbus and a few other places, and always have had a great experience.. ....but, things change with change in ownership or management.

Thanksgiving dinner a big success

By steve j |

Thanksgiving dinner for the family, wonderful food. The turkey dinner was delicious and well presented. The wine list is excellent too. Super atmosphere/warm ambiance makes you feel comfortable very quickly. Service was good, but the waiter who served up the champagne could do with some tuition - management please note.

Terrible service; terrible ethic

By Peter N |

We got here on a Saturday after shopping at the Galleria. We'd just been to the one near the Alamo in San Antonio a few weeks before and wifey found that excellent. She wanted a repeat experience back home in Houston. How extremely disappointed she and I were. When we got in, they completely ignored us preferring to attend to people in the line behind us. We thought at first that the couple behind us must have come earlier, till it happened again and then that couple insisted we be attended to as we were there before them. Could it have had to do with our being in t-shirts, jeans and trainers? No, other people were similarly dressed and were not getting a similar treatment. Eventually, a hostess grudgingly stuck us out back (out of sight?) near the kitchen despite the restaurant being half empty. The food was not great. The service was atrocious. We are not going back here.

The best Steakhouse in Galeria

By 8Giac6 |

I will be boring and turistic, but anytime I'm in the Galleria quarter in Houston I must and want go to Morton's Steakhouse. This time I've been there twice. Food is totally Amazing and service is spectacular. Once have been for a business lunch, so fast service and good meals Second time I was with my boss and we had dinner at the Bar, and was a good typical american experience which i really joined. Of course keep money in the wallet, this is not a cheap place, but at least you're sure about the quality.

Great place for steaks, especially during restaurant week

By Krishna M |

Have good plan for managing clients, all wear masks and only alternate tables are used. Even the bar area has two chairs vacant for every customer. The food was outstanding. Service by Francisco impeccable.

This was our last night of a 15 day holiday after a cruise and time spent in Galveston and Houston. A real highlight.

By D'Arcy M |

My wife and I went to Morton’s for dinner. Close to our hotel. This is fine dining at its best. Great ambience and top rated service. We had a semi circular booth with a view of the room. We both had 6 oz. filet mignon steaks with asparagus and mushrooms with spinach. Everything was done exactly the way we asked for and absolutely delicious. Great meal!

Excellent Meal and Service

By terryo_11 |

Usual excellence. All had the lobster bisque. Perfect. Two then onto the rack of lamb and one the filet. All perfectly cooked and the shared sides good. Wait staff spot-on and attentive. Enjoyable meal with a great selection of wine.

Average, Expensive, Very Expensive Drinks, Could Be Better

By Dave W |

The service was good, the food just below average, the drinks way overpriced. When one pays $60 for a steak, it should be cooked correct. Ordered med rare, got rare. Other parties steak was cooked OK. The sides were good. Charged $14.00 for a cocktail ordered with bar vodka. (which was not that great of a drink, bartender needs to learn how to make one). No reason for charging this much for this drink. Depend on around $100.00+ per head for a steak, drink, and couple of sides which two people can share. Have eaten at Morton;s in several different places and this location is not as good as other locations. This happens at all restaurants from time to time even expensive ones. The worse thing here was paying $14.00 for a cocktail. Probably will not go back to this location.

Excellent Restaurant with outstanding service

By Neil M |

We had the please of spending Christmas day with Mortons. The menu options are great, choice of wines are outstanding and the waiter was extremely attentive. Just one word of caution, the head chef seems to LOVE onions/chives as they seem to be in more than 70% of the dishes including the bread. The good news is if you don't like them, tell them as you are seated and they will ensure you are not overwhelmed.

Mortons steaks

By Peter B |

Another happy visit to a Mortons - this time in Houston. My only negative is as usual at many steakhouses is the lighting is so low you cant even see the menu and really needs to be a bit brighter. However the food was as good as ever.

Food OK, Waitress was terrible

By 631kirbyf |

Morton's has been a great place to go for setting and food. Have gone here several times this year. Visit last Saturday did not go well. Good points - steak was very good. Bad points - red fish (for $62) didn't taste good and made wife sick afterwards. Real bad point was service - usually very good, but we had a waitress that was rude & very arrogant. Acted in her looks & mannerism as we were not worthy to be here and could we really pay for meal. It got irritating and ruined the dining experience.

Need a foghorn........?

By Dex D |

Well the waiter for our adjacent table would work for you. OMG how many was he serving 6 or 60? Thought he was gonna make them do push ups! It's American service I know and I'm a Brit, but it was so much more in your face than other restaurants on our visit to Houston. The food.....great steak perfectly cooked and delightfully tender a bit on the expensive side paying for all the sides. Hard sell on desserts....even to take away- apparently we were a tough crowd! Simply had eaten enough

Great ambiance, average food and service

By PamRoad |

We were a little disappointed in Morton's Steakhouse. For a premium restaurant, I expected to food, service and atmosphere to be stellar. The ambiance was excellent, Our cocktails were excellent, as were the salads and appetizers. The main entree (we both had filet mignon) was not particularly flavorful, but it was cooked to our specifications. After we finished our meal, it took them almost 30 minutes to come by and take our dessert order. If you like a moist, rich carrot cake, don't order it there. It has almost as much cream cheese frosting as it does cake and even then it is rather dry.

Always a great meal

By Selene |

I frequent Mortons every month, sometimes every other month. It is one of my favorite places to eat in Houston. I love the low lighting of the dining room allowing me to relax and settle in to my booth. I never have a problem getting our favorite table and the waitstaff is good. I have, on occasion, encountered some waiters who could use more training. I've also encountered waiters who anticipate my every need hardly making me request a thing. Food is always served hot and fresh and made to order. My favorite dish is the Chili Glazed Salmon and my husband likes the Cajun Ribeye. If you really want to indulge, do yourself a favor and preorder the freshly baked chocolate cake, served with icecream. So very worth it.

Good Steak Hunting

By dr_mughni |

Similar taste and service as other locations. Nice ambiance, although tables very close to each other. Good service and tasty steak along with the appetizer. Might go again. Bought Landry's membership card which helped us jump the line at new years eve at Kemah Boardwalk.

Fabulous date night!

By Tiffany K |

My husband and I went there for a special date night. From the minute we walked in we felt like all the staff gave us amazing attention. The food was absolutely delicious and they took a picture of us and gave it to us for keepsake. Such a classy, delicious and inviting restaurant!

Request Thuy @ Galleria or miss the "Best"all of Houston has to offer in fine dinning, food is superior too!

By T W |

The ambiance was great as usual, however what made the experience this time around was the superior and persoanlized service from Thuy and Ryan! I was there celebrating two special occasions as I tend to do whenever there is something work acknowledgement in my life or the life of a close family/friend. It is so my absolute most favorite place to dine alone as I have over the years and at many locations in the US. Thus time it was the outstanding, personable and warm coincidental charm of Thuy!!!! Shevwas just the best! We loved her and laughed with her profusely!! She was witty and sharp as if she had been awaiting our arrival all day. I cannot wait to go back to witness her genius and ability to display customer service as if she is the architect of it, without even trying! And indeed I only want to be served by her, hopefully Olivia will be there so I can thank her for pairing her with us. EVERY MORTONS NEEDS A THUY, ENOUGH SAID.

A Steakfeast Bound To Please

By Dave F |

If your taste buds are desiring a steak, then Morton's is THE place to go. From the time you arrive till the time you depart, you are in for a real treat. Their rib-eye steaks are so tender and delicious

Birthday Dinner

By 352MD |

This place is really upscale and expensive. The staff is very friendly and professional. The food is good and expensive.

Expensive and Pretentious but not Gracious

By cyclist6049 |

My husband and I were dining with a friend. The salad, a large plate of only lettuce was $14. The white wine was warm. The main course was served before I finished with the salad. I asked for it to be left on the table. When I was not looking it was whisked away. The bread was taken off the table in the middle of the meal. At one point, I put down my fork while eating the main course and the waiter tried to remove it. Restaurant is expensive, but overall service was horrendous and food was just okay. Would not go here again.

Not recommended for a group booking

By HeBu123 |

I made the mistake of booking mortons for a work dinner and it wasn't a good experience. The staff made it much more difficult than it needed to be, particularly around the availability of vegetarian food for some of our guests. On the day it turned out we had signed our lives away with the group booking and were expected to spend a lot more per guest than we should have as ours numbers had reduced. Apparently they is got additional staff for our booking.... I don't know where they found them but one was particularly rude. When one party member indicated that they couldn't eat blue cheese or raw egg, the waiter enquired very aggressively and publicly "whether they had any other special requirements they wanted to share". Maybe you should train your waiters that when they are pregnant women cannot eat raw egg or blue cheese, and at a work dinner they probably don't want this to be announced to the whole room. It was a very shameful thing to witness. The waiter's attitude did not improve during the evening. On the whole the food was good but overpriced for what else you can get in Houston, and the restaurant was very dark and gloomy.

Great Food

By CScottRN |

We had lunch there and had a great experience. Both food and service were excellent. I highly recommend this establishment for anyone.

Meat meat

By salvadanaio |

Good food. I love the bone in rib eye and the fries serve with it. Morton's is always a safe and reliable choice. Kind service.

Best restaurant ever hands down

By arialle s |

Top notch service, food and drinks. Filet mignon was the best cut of meat I've ever tasted, asparagus was cooked to perfection and potatoes were mouth watering! Our server, Kevin was just outstanding and went out of his way to make us feel like we were taken care of. Will definitely be backto this establishment. Thank you kevin!!!

Nice place and the food was great I will go back next time I visit Houston I recommend to all my friends and family

Another great celebration dinner!

By William W |

We can not say enough wonderful things about Morton's in the Galleria in Houston, TX! It has become our "go to" restaurants for any and all celebrations. This past Saturday evening, we celebrated the 33rd birthday of my son Logan. When I made reservations, I was asked if it was a special occasion and I told them it was. When we arrived, we were met enthusiastically and our son received several "Happy Birthday" greetings as we were led to our table. Our server, Maura, was FANTASTIC! She delivered customized menu's that acknowledged Logan's birthday, and led us through that evening's specials. Based on her descriptions/recommendations, we all arrived at some combination of steaks and lobster tails. With side orders of creamed spinach and corn souffle, we could not wait to begin. But, while we were waiting, Maura came back to take a group photo, which was later turned into a photo-card commemorating the event. The entrees and sides were delicious and we shared a couple of desserts among us. The food is truly top quality but I actually think the service is even better. A day or two afterwards, we even got a follow-up email from General Manger, Ryan, that referenced our birthday celebration dinner. Thanks to Maura and the entire staff for a wonderful family dining experience.

Christmas Party

By Phil J |

Make sure you eat at the restaurant and not one of the nearby facilities which Morton’s uses for parties. Several of our party got really sick (even before leaving the restaurant) due to steaks not being cooked (at all).

a bit of a disappointment, over-hyped

By Al and Dianna |

I expected too much from my Morton's experience. I had heard about them for a very long time and finally tried them in Houston. It was a pleasant enough experience. Our waiter lack subtlety in his approach. He was too out there and too helpful. I had salmon, which was very good. I am not a red meat eater anymore so one wonders why I would even go to Morton's. The salmon was presented on a bed of mixed vegetables, which sort of detracted from the salmon itself. There was too much of it. All in all, it was okay, but I wouldn't return.

Pricey but only average

By Varel F |

Mortons gives a fairly reliable product in my experience--decent steak and a reliable surroundings. This branch is a bit below par. Service was just so-so, and the steaks were average, not great. Not a reasonable package for the money. We had a great experience at a new steakhouse, Steak 48, 4444 Westheimer, a few days later. Less expensive, much better quality meat, and wonderful service. HOGHLY RECOMMENDED alternative nearby.

My god that was good!

By Rick W |

Visited alone while in Houston on business. Excellent food. Excellent wine. Excellent wait staff. Ribeye steak was one of the best I've ever had.

Best Steak I've ever had

By Merlin H |

My wife an I had dinner here this past week and had the best meal we can remember. The service was outstanding and the menu had a great variety. I choose the 6oz rib eye and was impressed. This was the best steak I've had in years.

Anniversary dinner

By Jessica C |

Went Sunday evening for our anniversary dinner. When making reservations I put in the notes what we were celebrating. They printed up our very own commemorative menu with the date and happy anniversary. It was very quiet and cozy and due to COVID there were only a handful of tables occupied. The staff were all in accordance with COVID specifications. Our server was amazing. Very attentive and knowledgeable. She recommended the Island Bessie to drink and it was amazing. The bread that they bring wasn’t in my taste, but my husband loved it. We ordered the jumbo shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. The shrimp were the size of small lobsters. For our main courses I ordered the filet mignon with a side of sautéed spinach and button mushrooms and a wedge salad. My husband ordered the New York strip and a baked potato. It was all delicious and we only ate about half over everything. After dinner he had coffee and I had another island Bessie. We opted out of dessert since we were pretty full. The hostess came to take our picture and brought back a frame with the picture along with a happy anniversary note. It made me feel so very special on such a special occasion. I just add that their small table lights are held by sleeping pigs and my drink was served in a cow. I’m a farm animals fanatic so that put everything over the top for me! Can’t wait to go back and enjoy another wonderful meal!

Great Food

By manvsfood2 |

Every dish we ordered was excellent, meat, poultry, everything was great, drinks were good, and service was a bit slow, slow. but we had a great time and the live music and atmosphere were excelent.

Great happy Hour

By katmac777 |

Mortons is not cheap, but no good steakhouse is. Go for the happy hour it is great. Good choice to eat and $7 for glass of wine. You cannot go wrong.

Excellent, excellent, excellent

By Luis_de_Zaragoza |

We were there almost by hazard, and we discovered a cozy environment with friendly and sympathetic staff, and with a superb rib eye cajun style. It was delightful, cooking and size of piece, one of the best pieces ever I've had. Not cheap (nowever not too expensive), but it's worthy to go there.

Perfect Christmas Eve Choice!

By designfan49 |

We visted with another couple (and a reservaton) on Christmas Eve. There was a festive and beautiful atmosphere, lovely to be part of, throughout the evening. The food was really delicious from wine, salads and perfectly cooked steaks and fish through scrumptious desserts.Service was great too.

Always a guaranteed 5* experience

By betomch |

Went to Morton's, had the lunch menu special with tomatoe soup and the 9oz rib-eye steak. Delicious & great service as always. Will come back to Morton's!

Anniversary Dinner

By klmassey65 |

The service at Morton’s is second to none. The staff was friendly from the moment we arrived until we departed. The food was excellent and the ambiance was great. By far this was one of our greatest dining experiences.

Not recommended for business group dinner

By younis |

-We were: 66 person. -Cost: pricy some, but seen pricier place. Interior design and look: extremely dark, very old furniture. -Staff: extremely friendly and helpful. -Location: excellent. -Go again: nope. -Overall: I wish they change their interior look because it means a lot. It is shame that this reflects so much on the overall decision. I salute their staff.

Best service I received in Houston!

By AbbieA A |

I had a wonderful experience here and kept wondering why the restaurant was empty. While the decor was a bit dark the service was super attentive and the food was delcious. I still have one of their stately napkin as a souvenir (face palm). Great restaurant!

Wonderful place for a special event

By Cindy W |

We've been here twice now and been delighted both times. It's a special dinner kind of place. The warm bread they serve first is delicious. My steak and scallops were perfect. My husband's special included scallops and red snapper and he loved it. We both started with salads so we skipped the side dishes because the salad and entree make a very large meal. We had Dave/David as our waiter both times and he was excellent. He was helpful with recommendations and was always around when we needed him - but didn't hover. For our anniversary night they gave us a complimentary chocolate souffle, and a photo. We'll go back for more special events!

Poor Service

By LawP2 |

I have spent more than $1000 in last four months and have never been so humiliated! I am going to make it my life long ambition to inform all my friends and relatives to not go there.

Houstons most emblematic restaurant

By Carminecolarusso |

We came for a business meeting late in the afternoon and the food was incredible, the service superb and the ambience was amazing

Nery disappointed

By Susan R |

Wow - I always loved Morton's but this location was a total disappointment. Service was slow. I ordered my steak well done and it came rare. I sent it back and by the time it came back everyone was done eating. The steak was still rare. When I complained they told me they would cook an entire new steak to go. I complained to the manager as I left but he did not seem to really care. When I got home guess what - the steak was still RARE!!!

Seafood at Morton’s?

By CaptainBlackie |

The most flavorful and sweet lobster I have ever consumed! Morton’s had a special of Maine lobsters which required a reservation made about 2 weeks prior. For Neptune’s feast we also enjoyed a Chardonnay by Stag’s Leap and of course Crème Brule for dessert. Great décor, exceptionally attentive wait staff and a superior reputation which is years in the making.

Excellent Food

By Nico W |

Business dinner meeting in private dinner room. From arrival to end of dinner excellent service and food served, including wines with dinner. Impressed that stocked Sputh African wine. Had very good rib eye steak, cooked very well. Recommended.

Great client dinner

By Khwezi1306 |

Was hosted by a client in a private dining room. Service excellent and the food experience was great. Overall ambience at the restaurant very welcoming.

Top Notch Service and Food

By 51junco |

If you want delicious food and above par service, head to Morton's. The vegetable servings are ample enough to share. Drinks are on point. There is a $49 lunch special as well.

Top of the line

By Cassie L |

Great service, drinks, and perfect cuisine! We visited some of the top rated steakhouses this week and none surpassed the experience we had here.

Very Slow Service - Average Food

By rabz786 |

I've been to Morton's before (in Chicago) and the food and service was impeccable. I was expecting the same at this location. Not so much. It took at least 15min for the server to bring us water. Then we had a random server start taking our order (after another 15 min wait) only to have the original server come back on the middle of our order to try to "catch up". It was very confusing. It took forever to get our food. The food was nothing to write home about.

Dinner with Friends

By Paula B |

We met another couple for dinner at the Morton's in the Galleria area, the restaurant is on the second level. This restaurant has a great atmosphere with excellent service. We ordered the restaurant week special which included a salad, Main entree, a side and a dessert. It was an excellent value and the food was delicious. I had a Spinach Salad which was excellent, and my steak was cooked to perfection. The manager came by to ask how everything was, we said great. Then after I tasted the Horseradish Mashed Potatoes I called the manager over to tell him I did not think they should serve them. He told me they are very popular so I said it is just a matter of taste. He offered to bring me some plain mashed potatoes but I declined because I was saving room for dessert. He brought me a small amount of plain mashed potatoes to try and told me that the next time I come in I can order the plain mashed potatoes. Talk about good customer service! I am so glad I saved room for dessert, I had the molten chocolate cake with ice cream which was out of this world delicious.

The Original Five

By BSC4105 |

What a fun night returning to our former city and joining our sons for dinner. We're in the heart of the Galleria within this Special, Modern, Open Restaurant. The bar area is updated with TV's and lots of space. Eating area in the main dining area is open yet private. Perfect ambiance. Everyone had steak. Tuna tartar tower & the lobster cocktail was delicious as were the grilled oyster appetizers. (Grilled oysters my personal favorite) We share dessert(s) Chocolate soufflé & Cheesecake. Both got high marks. 8 oz fillets were ok. Porterhouse was insane. High marks to the manager Erik who was so fun to talk to. We finished off our meal with Pappy! Yes they have it ❤

Good Happy Hour

By red1990 |

We had a great dinner in the bar. We were too late for Happy Hour which is from 4:30 to 6:30 and then again after 9:30. Dinner was excellent as was the service. Side dishes are huge. Great deserts. We will go back during Happy Hour.

A Must Lunch Spot

By Rosalyn D |

If you want great service, great food and very nice atmosphere then this is your lunch spot. Our food was excellent. The lunch menu has a nice variety and the prices are terrific. If you want a really nice meal in an atmosphere where you can visit without lots of distractions this is the spot to go.

Great Food Awesome Steak

By Carl J. |

I had not had a really nice N. American steak for a while, I've been working in Asia, so I thought that I would treat myself. My wife and I had thought about dining here in the past with our kids but decided against bringing our rowdy crew in. Back to dinner, I was in town for a medical so no alcohol or chocolate but I did have their delicious onion loaf and ordered a Rib steak, baked potato with all the fix-ins and sauteed green beans and mushrooms, yum yum and yum oh it was sooooo good, the steak was cooked perfect, my mouth is watering while I type this and reminisce. Now the prices are a little higher than most people may like but if you want to take someone out for a terrific dinner then this is the place, lighting is right and I went mid week which the place was nice and quiet.

Always delicious!

By jjmw11 |

We always make a stop of Morton's when we are in the U.S. The steaks are just amazing. I ordered the filet with a lobster tail. Both were very well made juicy and melt in your mouth! We also had the Mac and cheese and spinach and mushroom sides...simply delicious. The restaurant is definitely at a higher price point but a lovely treat every now and then.

Expensive but awesome food

By DanielK_Norway |

Morton's is an ideal location for business dinners. Nice ambience, friendly staff and very high quality steak

Memorable dining experience

By kengerrand |

Our dinner last night reminded me why Morton's at the Galleria is the best restaurant in Houston. The scallops with chutney were perfect, the filet covered with bearnaise sauce was amazing, the wonderful bread with a magnificent wine was a great beginning, and don't ever forget the lyonnaise potatoes. The service was impeccable.

Great steaks

By Jadiaz72 |

The meat offer is great, and the cooking perfect, a nice ribeye after good oysters made a perfect dinner.

Great Reasonably Priced Lobster

By rallydave |

Received a promotion about a 2 lb Lobster at Mortons for only $35 and my wife and I decided to go. Phoned to reserve and told the one day was sold out but, they would honor the promotion the next two days so we reserved for Sunday which was much better as we didn't have to survive Houston traffic on a Friday nite. The 2 lb lobster was massive and as I had previously had a 2 lb lobster in PEI, I was shocked at its' size, had to be 3 or 4 lbs and for $35 really a bargain and it was great to eat. Service good and perhaps a little too much as we both were stuffed but, good deal and if they do it again, we will be back. Morton's is expensive but, they have many promotions that are reasonable so we go when a promotion strikes us so recommend you get on their e-mail list.

A Special Occasion

By Jane M |

Given the amount of food that you get at Morton's is best to be young, very hungry or share with another person. We had a young man celebrating his birthday who was happy with his salmon entree and said it was delicious. The parents and grandparents split two steak entrees that were also delicious and very ample. The brussel sprouts, mashed potato and hash browns were shared sides and all very good and more than enough. The salads were split, ample and not very good. It's the one thing you could leave off and perhaps order an appetizer. The bread is beautiful and was really good - and replenished twice. Grandma had made cake so we skipped dessert.

Really good steak

By Aussie_Traveller38 |

We had dinner here as a group of five and we're all very pleased with the quality of the food and extremely good service. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the wait staff were very knowledgable and friendly. Although this is not a cheap meal, it certainly is a good one.

Don't be fooled by its upscale location...

By wordsmith2016 |

The Galleria Morton's has been disappointing every time we've eaten there, and Friday night's dinner was our last. It was lobster night. The lobster was delicious, cooked perfectly, but served with neither the small forks to reach inside those delectable claws nor followed by a finger bowl or at least a handwipe. The Caesar was tasteless - they should be ashamed of pawning this off as Caesar! I asked for blue cheese dressing to give it some taste. The sides certainly weren't delicious! The creamed spinach tasted as though it had been made with skim milk, not rich and creamy. And they are clearly using frozen spinach that hasn't been properly cooked - does anyone think "chewy" spinach is good? Mac & cheese was overdone with crusty macaroni. We each tried the sides, then left them for garbage, not even good enough to take home. On the good side,,, the onion soup was superb, the key lime pie was delicious, and Morton's special coffee is a dessert in itself. But at $100 bucks + a person, EVERYTHING should be good. I had the special coffee, my companions had plain coffee but ordered heavy cream to go with it. The waiter said they didn't have any. "Oh yes you do," said I. "You're putting it in the desserts!" He then managed to find it. Service was sloooow, not entirely the waiter's fault, and not of a caliber you would expect at a fancy steak house. There are too many good steakhouses in Houston to give this place another visit. Try the downtown Morton's - it's better.

A Family A Fare

By Donna B |

Great steaks! Au Gratin potatoes were amazing. Snapper was outrageously good. Cooked to perfection with a delicious sauce. Would get that next time over a steak. Great service and excellent cocktails. $$$

Didn't disappoint

By SandBetweenMyToes007 |

Thank you Edwin for how well you executed our service. I was amazed at how the kitchen was able to manage getting every dish out quickly and perfectly cooked. You recommended the aged bone in ribeye with was special on the menu and we couldn't have been happier.

One of the best places to savor fine steak cuts and red wines selection with an elegant enviroment.

By Tony |

If you are looking for a new experience in fine cuts, good wines, cozy atmosphere and a good evening or business lunch, Morton's is the right place. I recommend the New York with rib, it is delicious and pleasant to the palate of carnivores like me.

Terrific Service in Bar!

By flalove2travel |

We arrived around 5:30 and decided to eat in the bar area. They have a combination of low tables and high top tables, along with seating at the bar. Danielle, the bartender, took care of the table service as well. Almost every bar table was full, but Danielle delivered excellent service. She promptly brought water, took our drink order, and brought the drinks. The bar bites were great, and a good value as well, since they are offered at a reduced price during certain hours (both early bird and later). The potato chips and iceberg wedges were good and the trio of filets was cooked to order. The filet from the menu was tasty, along with the side of corn. Bread and butter were also brought, and their bread is served hot. Danielle checked on us throughout the time we were there, and even though she had quite a few guests, we were not overlooked or slighted in the least. If you prefer to eat in the dining room, they do have booths, which offer a little more provacy, that can be requested. If you are in the area, you will not be disappointed.

NOT THE SAME MORTONS!

By Hiltonspatsy |

Used to love Mortons, the way they would bring the steak cuts & seafood to your table was a fun & educating experience. Went with family recently. While the decor & prices were the same, the experience & quality are not. Asked why they no longer bring meat cuts to table to let you pick what youre eating. Was informed that Mr. Landry has bought this restaraunt to add to his collection. Service was good but food very average. Was angry that I paid these prices for crab legs that are exact same at Joes Crab Shack for at least half the price. We won't be back. Sadly, it used to be one of our fave places to go. We will be going to Ruth's Chris (another fave for steak) for its quality & consistency. Sorry, complete let-down & COMPLETELY OVERPRICED!

Just O-K

By Mimi Jodam |

Food was ok, I've had better steaks. Service was superb!!! My ribeye was pretty salty to the point that I thought the chef poured a whole carton of salt on my steak and I asked for medium but I think it came out medium/well 9not good at all). Sides were ok. I expected so much from the restaurant and it wasn't that great to be honest lol.

Not near as good as they think they are

By Paintman01 |

Me and a friend tried Morton's while staying in Houston. We both got the NY strip cooked medium rare. The steak was not a quality cut of meat. It was too grizzly. I felt like I got served a 15% steak at a 1% steak price. On top of that it made both of us sick to our stomachs. No puking or anything, but just bloating and gas. The service was very lacking as well and it wasn't busy. Of all the tables, only 5 had someone seated. This was on a Wednesday night. This place thinks they know quality, but they do not. The only thing good about Morton's was the cream spinach. It's pretty pathetic when your side item trumps your steak. Avoid this place. If you want quality at this price, go to Shulas.

A great place for a special family gathering

By rmad125 |

The five of us gathered for an 85th birthday party at Morton's Galleria restaurant. I love the quiet atmosphere, the decor, and the drink selection. They even had Macallan's 18, LOL. Some of us came for the Filet, but the seafood was my choice. All around, some exquisite appetizers and marvelous entrees. Service was first class, and we sat at a very large and comfortable round table in the center of the dining area. I began with a heavenly lobster bisque and plowed happily through a wonderful fresh fish for dinner. All dishes were worth swapping and bragging about. The menu changes over time, as all good restaurants tend to do. Highly recommended. $$$

Great Pricey Steakhouse!

By Andy T T |

My niece had made a reservation for her Birthday Dinner at a nearby restaurant(name withheld). Before her 30 guests could all arrive, management at this restaurant(name withheld), told her that since all of her to guests were not present at 8:00pm, they could not continue to reserve the room. She became despondent and was in great despair. Alas, there was Morton's Steakhouse.......right across the parking lot. She called them and ask if they could reserve a room for 30 people. They said, absolutely, come on over. This last minute reservation practically saved her Birthday Dinner. The food was superb, the service was "EXCELLENT'. They waited on us "hand and feet"!!! Yes, the menu was a bit high(Galleria area?), but it was worth it for this once a year event. By the way, their were pictures of some famous hollywood stars that had frequented that restaurant.....Jay Leno, Charles Dutton, Magiic Johnson to name a few.

It's OK

By frenchtou |

A generous portion for the money but the quality falls behind the price. While I wouldn't steer away from it anywhere if others want to go, I would prefer to go to Landry's upscale Restaurant Vic and Anthony's

Fantastic Steak and Seafood Menu Deal

By T K |

We went to Morton's for my husband's birthday and really enjoyed their Steak and Seafood Menu. We both had their chopped salad, filet mignon, crab cakes, creamed spinach, asparagus and Morton's hot chocolate cake. It was all delicious and had leftovers to bring home. Our waiter was great and the overall service was really good. We would definitely recommend it.

A Mouthwatering Steak

By Amr_Heikal |

I had no reservation, I just walked in at 22:00, I was well received even though they were about to close in an hour. I chose to site by the bar rather than a dining table, I chose a stool facing a TV screen. The last time I had a steak at Morton’s was 12 years ago in Portland. I’ve always been a diehard Ruth’s Chris fan, but I had a steak and fries the night before on Friday at Ruth’s Chris, so I decided to change. That Saturday night at Morton’s I ordered the exact same thing as the night before a Ribeye and thin fries. The comparison was easy and to my surprise Morton’s Galleria won. I must admit that the Ribeye and fries at Morton’s are tastier and more delicious than Ruth’s Chris Houston. The difference is minute but for me personally, I was surprised as I've always been obsessed with Ruth's Chris I considered it the best steakhouse in the world. After this challenge, I had to change my mind as Morton’s outrivaled it. That night changed allot of my beliefs, from now on I’m converted, I would never miss an opportunity to have a streak at Morton’s. THE AMBIENCE (10/10): Warm, modern, simple very appealing. THE SERVICE (10/10): Fantabulous, the service was great, the bar lady kept refilling my drink and water all night without even asking. THE FOOD (10/10): mouthwatering, my Center-cut Prime Ribeye 16 OZ (10/10) was worth every cent of the $49 price tag. It was a full-scale flavor explosion that was cooked to perfection. It was marbled, it had all its juices kept inside it, it was cooked to the right temperature. What made Morton’s win the challenge is the fries (15/10). They were very thin crispy from the outside but still soft from the inside. It is as if when you bite the fries they bite back, this how Fries should be. THE PORTION SIZE: just right, the Ribeye was so tasty that I wished it was a tad bigger THE COST: not cheap but value for money THE BOTTOM LINE (10/10): I think Morton’s Steakhouse is my new-found love, I will definitely be back again and again.

Nice for special occasions

By marycathyjoneslmp |

The steaks are fantastic and the atmosphere is romantic. The service is excellent. We went there for my birthday and the staff made the event very special. They took a picture of my husband and me and gave it to us, signed by the staff, for a birthday present.

Rude Valet Parking

By PayneToPlane |

So I have visited Morton’s about 4 times since I’ve been leaving in Houston. Love the Salmon and Bacon wrapped Scallops! So Tonight I had planned on meeting my husband and another couple for dinner. So I’m going to park, I see the Morton’s Truck pulling out of a parking spot so as I’m waiting the car behind me is honking at me which is the valet parking attended(he told me his name is Mathew) tells me I can not park there because it’s for Morton’s. Okay I’ve been here before and there is no signs and no specific valet parking with cones. I tell him I’ve parked here and how do you know that I am not coming into this restaurant. He tells me if I park there he is going to get my car towed. So as I’m backing in to park he zooms in the parking spot! I have never been treated like this by the valet. I spoke with the manager which was my first time meeting. He listened to what I was saying and even offered me a drink. I don’t wish anyone to loose their job but I hope Mathew gets better training!

Always Amazing

By hddaugherty |

Morton's is always on top of their game! We visited for Houston Restaurant Week and enjoyed the entire experience.

Repeat customer

By Meredith J |

We went for restaurant weeks but would have been a repeater regardless. Husband always raves about their steaks. He’s tried multiple cuts & claims they are always the best ones he’s eaten. This round we had the filet, salmon, mash potatoes, broccoli, signature chocolate cake & key lime pie. Fantastic! The cosmos were great as well! Big thanks to David our waiter who was extraordinary as well! Ready to go back! (We opted to self park because there was ample parking but the valet was only $5)

Leap Day Celebration

By Kismet1999 |

Morton's offered a Leap Day menu offering. Wonderful value and delicious! I highly recommend getting on their mailing list for menu updates.

Surprise Dinner

By Claudia T |

I was pleasantly surprised by a good friend to dinner, he chose Morton's. It was a nice ambiance, great food, pleasant server. I would definitely return.

Nice place for a Business Lunch

By red1990 |

I had a nice lunch at Morton's with clients. The food and service was excellent. Nice place to visit and talk. I will go back.

High price with average food

By TXflyfisher |

It is not the same since Landry's purchased it. The service is good, the interior is very nice with separate rooms if needed (for a 75 buck charge and 18 percent tip), but the food is just average. After paying 1800 dollars for a large party, I was hoping the steaks would be great, instead they were average. Looking for great beef, go to Pappa Brothers or Ruth Chris instead.

Nice steak dinner

By rswest59 |

Enjoyed a great dinner at Motor's this week. Bone in ribeye was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Sides were good and the wine list was strong. I would give this restaurant 5 stars except for the service, which was adequate at best and the prices, which are very high.

Wonderful birthday celebration!

By Lynn M |

Went here to celebrate my birthday (the big six-oh)!!! Had a fantastic meal and great service. Eric is a super duper general manager and took great care of us while juggling other customers in his role. Isaac was our server who also took great care of us. (Sadly, this was his last week and he goes on to pursue higher opportunity now that he has graduated with his UH hotel and restaurant management degree!) We started at the bar for cocktails and then moved to our table. While perusing our menus and wine list, we were served a fantastic LARGE loaf of bread that is "egg loaf with onion". To die for! I had the lobster tail and my husband had one of their prime steaks. We also had grilled asparagus and creamed spinach. And, of course, wine. Eric introduced us to a wonderful merlot called Emmolo. It is not your standard merlot, but neither is it a Cab or a Pinot. In fact, it was easier to say what is was not. So, we just said it's an Emmolo! The price for the bottle was really good (it is Morton's, after all).

Expensive

By Maria D |

The restaurant was very beautiful very fancy and the bread and wine were amazing. Food was very delicious but the quantity of food they serve is so small and the price is very high. Between my friend and and after 2 dinner plates and 2 glasses of wine the total bill was $143 uffff I was like Damm what the hell did we eat??? We were left hungry so we just went to get some tacos to satisfy our tummy 🍷🍷🍛🍛= $143

Great steaks, but too much a American service

By MacJ |

Service at the bar was good. We ordered the fillets abd they were just great. The service was too much an all-over American style. Less words more actions needed. Wine selection at least exhaustive.

primo office party

By JC1_UC |

in the heart of the galleria area; easy parking easy access; the private room was comfortable and the staff were really on the ball; didn't have to ask. we all had a steak - but the Cajun steak is the absolute best; bet you won't eat it all so you can save some for later; that good. had a great time.

Excellent meal

By houstontravelingfool |

First time there and it was wonderful. There were four of us having dinner and everything, start to finish, was delish. We had their truffle fries as an appetizer and then we all had the lobster tail and filet combination as our entrees. The filets were cooked perfectly. We chose grilled asparagus and sour cream mashed potatoes as our sides and there was enough for us to share amongst the four of us. Oh, did I mention the fabulous bread. It was a huge round loaf that was divine. Could have eaten the whole thing by myself!!! We then shared two desserts - bread pudding and carrot cake, both of which were excellent and, again, large enough to share four ways. Service was attentive without being overbearing and our waiter was very helpful with food selections. All in all, a lovely evening out.

Renovated and Back on Top

By Jon5839 |

This location has been renovated and I have had several excellent meals here. Service has always been excellent. I think they serve the best New York strip of all the major steak houses. Yes, it's expensive, but definitely worth it.

Mediocre at best

By Edward C |

Very disappointed. High price and low quality. Server said Wagyu steak was tender and had porcini and truffles. No flavor of either. Brussel sprouts were hard and mash was weak. Lots left over and did not take w us. Would not return. 10 spots within a mile w better food. A real shame. Came in wanting to love it and they have a strong looking menu. Not worth a visit.

dessert

By mawpms |

We stopped here at the end of the evening for my favorite dessert. Sat in the bar, had coffees and Grand Marnier soufflé. Fabulous as usual !! Jennifer, the waitress that evening was so sweet, she even made two pots of coffee & fought off the waiters, so she could bring us fresh coffee with the soufflé ! Thanks!!

Perfect Steaks every time

By fred918 |

When you want a perfect steak one of the best places in Houston to have what you want. Every cut is great and tastety.

Amazing food and service

By Brooke A |

My fiancé and I dined in on February 20th and to say it was a wonderful experience would be an understatement. Lawrence was our server and he gave the most amazing service through being personable, friendly, and his menu knowledge. The ambience of this restaurant definitely makes for a romantic date night. 10/10 would come back and be hopeful that Lawrence is working that night!

Great place

By Sandra Igboji |

Everything about this place i love the food, servers, and drinks. I will be back again soon. Valet parking i love. Thanks again

Never disappointing

By Eulys |

We had dinner here twice while we were staying at the nearby Hilton. The steaks were excellent and so were the salads. We had eaten at Chicago Morton’s and knew the standard to expect. This Morton’s is a step above our previous experience. Great food excellent service and reasonable prices..good wine list too and it was very busy both times we visited.

Good place

By eric j |

We went to this restaurante in order to have good food, service and good wine in a quiet ambiance and we did it at all, is some expensive but the quality is very good the service some slow

Great Steak!!!

From the moment you get out of the elevator on the 2nd floor the staff greets you with extreme pleasantries!! Had the 6 oz filet migon with twice baked potatoes. Simply delicious. 2 martinis on the side!! Lol Great

Excellent Service & Drinks, and Pretty Good Food

By Robert B |

My family and I had dinner on a weekend evening. It wasn't very crowded (we arrived at 8:30), so we had plenty of attention. However, I get the idea that these folks are good under pressure as well. Cameron (waiter) and the manager (didn't get his name) were extremely attentive. Cameron was very knowledgeable about the menu, he made some excellent suggestions, and he and everyone else really made the meal quite enjoyable. The cocktails were excellent. Normally, a drink doesn't merit much comment in my opinion, but these were very well done (and we ordered drinks that are easily ruined). The appetizers were good, but not exceptional. However, the salads were excellent. No one ordered soup, but the options looked very good. As always, the signature bread (onion, garlic, etc.) was very good and warm. The steaks options were plentiful, but, all in all, the meat was merely average for a good steakhouse. The cream corn and au gratin potatoes were very well prepared and ended up being the highlight of the main course. (Don't get me wrong, the steaks were good, but I simply want to distinguish "great" from "enjoyable" food.) Our meal concluded with a very good cheesecake and an excellent souffle. In short, I give the appetizers a 3, the steaks a 3.5, and everything else was a 4 (the cream corn was a 5). The exceptional attention and service is the reason I am comfortable with a 4 rating and why I expect to return.

Excellent service and good steak

By Chris G |

About 12 of us came here for dinner and had reservation in a private room. The wait staff immediately approached us for our drink order, and then said they'll be back for appetizer orders. In the interim, fresh bread was placed on the table. We then ordered appetizers; shrimp, salads, calamari. Everything was great. On the the main entree, I had their bone-in filet, which is a 14oz filet, cooked rare. I was happy. I never do sauces on my steak, I count on the chef to season it. Personally, I think the steak wasn't seasoned enough. I would have seared it with a rub. I ate it all though, no complaints. For dessert, I had the cheesecake. I was stuffed when I left. In my opinion, the meal was very good, not the best steak I've had, that's for sure, but it was cooked right. You won't be disappointed, but follow reviews, and compare to how others like their steaks flavored. I can't forget, the wait staff were excellent! Good job to the crew!

Delicious Meat

By Nader-Khalifah |

I visited the restaurant alone for dinner. I reached there by 18:30. Few people were there. The staff were very friendly. I ordered Lobster Bisque and Bone-In Veal Chop. I did not like the Lobster Bisque. There was no much flavorsin it. However, the Bone-In Veal Chop was so juicy and tasty with lots of flavors. I enjoyed it so much. The prices can be considered at the high side.

Very enjoyable

By Barbara S |

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Morton’s last night. The staff, Eric and Miguel, were exemplary. We were celebrating our retirement and showered with good wishes and fun. We got the steak and lobster combo, which was very good. The lobster was especially tender and wonderful. We will definitely be back.

I've never eaten here and come away thinking I had a good time.

By wordsmith2016 |

This review is not based on a single visit. I've gone to the Galleria Morton's many times. I don't know why, as I always leave thinking I've wasted my time and money. The service is never adequate. The food - well, they have the worst creamed spinach I've ever tasted anywhere; they charged $6 for a bottle of water I buy at Costco for $1; I had to send my poor overdone steak back; the lobster is served without proper utensils. Need I go on? The one thing they have that's good is raw oysters. That may have been a fluke. Tillman Fertitta needs to get a grip on this place as it gives his restaurant empire a bad name.

Mediocre

By Paulette P |

They have dumbed down about as far as u can go. Next stop should be buyout or closure. Tried lunch. Big mistake. How do u make a mediocre chopped steak? Most of the national chains do it quite well: large, juicy cooked medium rare. Mortons doubles the price and delivers not much. Then there was the shrimp, scallop over spinach entree. Please try washing the greens. It helps to be grit free. It was not. More of an appetizer thingie with 2 each shrimp, scallops. Wow. Between all the watery tasteless fluid the entree floated on, the seafood was not grilled as described. More like blahly steamed. Service amazingly inadequate in sparsely populated dining room.

Great customer service and nice place.

By bryanmantezoni |

This place has a very attentive and select team of waiters, they are all attentive to your needs. We had dinner , 8 of us and they were fast, courteous and friendly all night long. You can see people arriving with those luxurious cars and overall it was a good experience. The place is NOT cheap, the food quality is very good and the atmosphere overall is great for a fine dinning experience one of these weekends. Recommended for a weekend.

Lost its ambiance

By rvtraveller_10 |

First, I have enjoyed Morton's long before becoming a Landry Select member. Here on business and went to dinner with a friend. Service was good. Food was excellent. However for me, I come to Morton's for the full experience which includes being able to eat dinner and have a quiet conversation. Not happening at this location. Per server, this location is the first one to change to the new layout where the wall between the bar and restaurant section is gone. The bar crowd was loud and the sports on the TVs just totally changed the atmosphere for me. I felt the above scenario cheapened my experience. My only hope is the other Morton's my wife and me frequent don't adopt this change.

Order the Cajun Ribeye

By JP |

My wife and I had a early-evening Valentine's Day dinner here, and the experience was just about perfect. Our server, Miguel, was outstanding: his recommendations, attentiveness, and overall service. The layered strawberry cake and cheesecake dessert was massive and massively delicious. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is the location: It feels like a part of town where you might pay $50-$80 for dinner, not $150. It is not bad at all, but the general location just doesn't feel terribly upscale. Valet is available, but we saved a few dollars because so much free parking was at-hand.

Excellent steak - great service

By TJB333333 |

Had dinner here one evening and this must be one of the finest steaks I've ever had. Service was fantastic, great atmosphere, and a good selection of local beers.

Tasteful Dinner!

By Kimberly H |

Had a real good dinner. Ordered a crab cake and lobster bisque for appetizer, good items. The bisque is a large bowl with chunks of lobster meat in it, ample for two to share. I ordered the red snapper with grilled shrimp and bacon wrapped scallops, delicious!!! Very fresh and tender., not a "fishy taste." The sir ordered the Cajun steak... OMG! very tender and tastey. The lobster mac n cheese was just "ok." Will go back! Well priced!

Give Randy the Waiter a PRESENT!!

By Tamika C |

This is a late post but I cannot not post my comments about Randy because credit has to be given where credit is deserved. August 19, 2017 during restaurant week/month my sister made reservations to celebrate her birthday. I had never eaten at this location before but had been at the one in Atlanta. This location and the service surpassed my experience in Atlanta. We were greeted so kindly upon entrance and seated and our wonderful waiter RANDY, truly out did himself. One of the best servers I had experienced to be so in tune with our comments and our likes. Example, Randy took a group picture and printed it out as a bday keepsake but it came out too dark. We did not complain because it was free but Randy saw our faces and came back and had us take another picture to our delight and made sure we had better lighting and the picture came out better. He was so kind and down to earth, made us laugh and not to mention the food was delish!! Filet minon was cooked to my exact request and the atmosphere was lively but not loud. So if you get a chance to visit this location, ask for Randy to be your waiter. I will definitely be back!!

Great food and service

By Anon148John |

My wife and I visited for her birthday, We both had steaks (ribeye abd porterhouse) with creamed spinach as a side. I had a salad and she had onion soup. Everything was very good. She got a free dessert for her birthday and we also had Landry's points to help defer the cost. Not a daily place unless you're rich, but great for special occasions.

Anniversary celebration

By Joleen B |

This was an excellant place to go for our anniversary. I told them ahead of time what we were celebrating and the acknowledge this with our photograph and a special presentation of it. Our waiter was so attentive, making sure that we had time to enjoy each coarse. The food was excellant and I felt so grateful that we decided on this restaurant to celebrate our 27th anniversary.

A Throwback

By davemh333 |

When I come here I feel like I've entered a time machine. The decor is vintage '70's and this is the kind of steakhouse that thrived decades ago. The food is good, but not great - which isn't good enough, given the prices. The service, though, is outstanding. As a friend put it: he comes here when he wants his butt kissed.

Usual Morton's standard

By The_genial_zod |

We'd not been for lunch before and so didn't go for the full steak experience - or alcohol. It was great, relatively prompt too.

Dinner

By john l |

If you want a great steak, you can no longer get one at the lower price chains, like Outback. You have to go to Mortons. The quality of beef is superior over the cheaper steak houses. No I do not like spending $100.00 on a meal but the quality and taste justified the price. The shrimp cocktail was 5 huge fresh shrimp chilled with dry ice, excellent presentation. The ribeye was perfect. The service was excellent with just the right touch. I wish I could eat there every night

A special dinner with friends.

By GCV |

We booked the private room for a special dinner with our friends. Everyone truly loved the food because of its high quality. The service provided by Estela and Alberto was attentive and impeccable. The ambiance was perfect for a dinner among friends. I recommend this restaurant for all special occasions including a romantic dinner, the celebration of an anniversary or a birthday. Their personalized menu with the mention of the actual special occasion or event is a very nice additional touch.

Failsafe - it's Morton's

By Thomas S |

Due to a flight arrival delay, we missed lunch so at around 5pm we decided on lunch-dinner and Morton's was right there in front of us. As other Morton's, pricy but satisfaction guaranteed. My wife had a small filet mignon and I chose the bone-in rib eye, both cooked to perfection. We shared a baked potato as they are quite large. No room for dessert but we left satisfied with a wonderful meal.

Disappointing steaks

By David116116 |

I have visited Morton's previously and was satisfied but the quality of the steak was disappointing. Service was reasonable but a tad slow given that it was quite late and there were not that many other diners. The sides were also disappointing. Best bets, the desserts. For the prices that they charge there are better steakhouses in Houston.

Thankful for the Summer Showcase

By Paula B |

Four of us were at Morton’s for dinner and all ordered the Summer Showcase. It is such a great deal with delicious food. The only thing I was not crazy about was the Warm Farro Salad, Spinach, Roasted Peppers, Feta Cheese. That is okay, the yummy mashed potatoes made up for it. The highlight of the meal was the Mixed Berries, Short Cake & Whipped Cream. All of us loved it and would like to see it on the menu permanently. As usual, the service was superb, Morton’s goal is to see to your every want and need and they excel at it without being obtrusive.

Incredibly Average

By tntonthego |

Came for a nice relaxing evening after a day of travel. Was told by the hostess that they had a Valentine's day special of steak and lobster so that's what I ordered. So glad my Valentine hadn't booked or been paying because I would have felt very sad for them. Had to send my stek back aa it was almost well done compared to the medium i ordered. When the bar waitress told me it would be a few minutes i realized that the add on I included was missing the sauce. I had already taken two bites of the lobster but realizing it would be cold by the time my steak was returned, I sent everything back to arrive at the same time. The steak came back fine with the correct accoutrements and my mangled lobster had been placed back on the plate reheated to within an inch of its life. This is just an overpriced restaurant pretending to be something its not

Anniversary

By Chris H |

The food and service was pretty good. The manager made whole lot better as she came around and showed love and admiration for my wife’s and I anniversary. Thank you Ms. Maggie.

Always go for the restaurant's strength!

By Gabriel H |

We visited Morton's for a special offer it had for fresh lobster. We had visited before on several occasions for a steak-focused meal, and were always pleased. This lobster event was clearly different. The restaurant is clearly not equipped: no lobster forks, no seafood forks: The kitchen barely cracked the tail in half; for the rest, we were on our own. The butter didn't come with a warmer, so half way through the lobster the butter was cold. The grilled Brussels Sprouts were grossly undercooked (they were taken off our bill); the grilled asparagus was drowned in balsamic vinegar: not a great success! The grilled oysters were tasty, but the oyster was covered with breadcrumbs and cheese, drowning the oyster. I guess this is the way to offer oysters to those who do not like oysters! The sommelier mixed up our wine glasses and poured the Burgundy into the Sauvignon Blanc glass, mixing the two. Finally, we waited over 45 minutes between the appetizers and the lobster. Does it really take 45 minutes to steam a lobster? Overall, a comedy of errors, and poor service. If we ever go back, we will just stick to steaks; Morton's can't deal with anything else.

Very good experience

By Rutalsur |

A very good option in Downtown Houston. Good meat, good wine list and better service. It has an informal lounge and a somewhat more reserved main lounge. Recommendable.

Great but small touches put it over top

By Scott P |

We made reservations and told the host it was our anniversary. When we arrived the hostess congratulated as on the occasion as well as the waiter. We were given printed menus that said Happy Anniversary on them. The food from the appetizer to the raspberry soufflé was great. The waiter took our picture with the restaurant camera and presented us with two 5x7 pictures and the special printed menus. This probably only cost them them less than $5 but the goodwill they gained for giving them to us was tremendous. I give them a five star The filet was perfect and so tender i could cut with a knife.

What has happened?

By Kathi M |

Morton's has always been reliably good, but if the Houston Galleria location is any indication, they are turning into an average steakhouse with high prices. $13 for sides, one of which was creamed corn that appears to be a reheated Sysco product. The potatoes au gratin was bland. The bourbon pepper sauce was supposed to be like a regular steak sauce, but was more like a peppery gravy for a chicken fried steak. My medium rare steak was so rare I could not eat it, but was not asked about it until my colleagues were almost finished eating. The menu has grown until it is ridiculous. Please go back to what you were before!

Steak and more

By Donald R |

Had the wedge salad for starters and the sirloin steak. It was prepared perfectly. For the group, we had a bacon wrapped pork belly for appetizer. Just a special that night, but it was great. The wine pairing were perfect from by the sommelier. From appetizers to dessert the meal was great.

Nice steak

By Sim H |

Great choice of cocktails, steak was exactly as ordered and delicious mashed potatoes, not cheap but the settings and service were first class

Mortons Houston

By Harris H |

We had dinner a couple of weeks ago. When we got there 6:30, we were almost the only people there. It was some time before we could get someone to take or order. We finally complained to a bus boy, and then the water finally came over. He seemed put out, and said he was busy with another guest. (Why could not someone else have helped) ???. After that, management people finally starting paying attention. We had the wedge salad which was excellent, We had fillets which were good, but I must say not as good as Ruth Christ. Probably would not return.

...I know it is not easy to compete with steaks in Houston, but...

By Mark Mrv |

... again and again, Morton's does it with flying colors. Even the small details for special occasions, like my wife's birthday were totally covered. The wine list is pretty complete and the steaks were fabulously cooked and beautifully presented. It is not cheap but i think that the value to price value is very high. It has been and it is still a place to go back for more...

Accidentally announced our engagement but made up for it in a big way!

By margaret m |

My husband and I took his daughter to Morton's to tell her about our engagement. Unfortunately, just after we sat down, the waiter came to our table and said, "First of all, congratulations on your engagement!" I guess my husband had mentioned it when he made the reservations. We were all speechless, especially my stepdaughter-to-be! However, throughout the evening, the waiter "at fault" did everything he could to make our experience as wonderful as ever, including offering a plate of chocolate covered strawberries after the meal and giving us a set of steak knives before we left! Morton's is always a top quality place to dine, but this was one evening we will never forget, thanks to their sensitivity and kindness.

My birthday started Right!!!

By Real Live |

This was my first time visiting Morton's and it didn't disappoint!! David/Dave was our waiter for the evening, he was very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the franchise itself. He suggested the Manhattan cut Filet and it was exceptional. My date and I didn't have an appetizer, but she had lobster bisque and she said it was really good. I had a Cobb salad and it had a little bit of everything in it. My date had lamb chops and I the Manhattan cut filet, we also had as sides the lobster macaroni and cheese along with roasted asparagus! Because it was my birthday I was given a birthday souffle and our photograph was taken in addition to recieving a special menu. The facility was perfect, ambiance was very intimate and inviting. Brent was amazing as well he'd come and engage us and was on top of things the whole night. This was a perfect night and perfect start to my birthday weekend!!

Wonderful!

Our experience at Mortons was wonderful! Our waiter was extra nice and also helpful with the menu. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and were delicious. We had a chocolate desert that the waiter had suggested and it was the perfect end to our meal!!! Mortons is a high end restaurant but well worth it for a special occasion!!! I recommend it!!

Always a favorite—especially NOW

By LBHouston11 |

Morton’s has daily specials for takeout at least once a week during the Covid-19. The food is excellent, and the manager himself, Eric, greets everyone with a smile and gratitude for ordering-and brings the food to the car. Please patronize our wonderful restaurants in Houston!

Great Restaurant to have a Birthday Dinner.

By Trip2009Ca |

We were here to celebrate my wife’s birthday. When we arrived the hostess wished her happy birthday as well as the wait staffs. They surprised us with a custom happy birthday menu. After we were settled in the hostess came by and took our picture and returned later with a happy birthday card that has our photo. They provided a free Soufflé for Two. Yes the food and service are excellent here. It is $$$$$.

Split Plate

By 19goSkins |

Had a very nice dinner at Morton's. We weren't that hungry and our waiter volunteered the idea of splitting a steak. Thought that was a very nice touch. Even split the salad into 2 and we shared a side. It was just the right amount of food. And, of course, everything was delicious.

Never Disappoints!

Morton's always serves great food from their appetizers to their salads to their steaks! They have a great happy hour. The atmosphere is perfect mood lighting ;-)

Great Texas Beef & Service

By Brendan L |

I was in Texas for a week and wanted to try a really good steak. THE BEST. Cooked to perfection and great side dishes.. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Wait staff were very attentive but not over the top.

Amazing steaks and seafood.

By Santiago F |

The ambience is relaxing, and the food is delicious. The Steaks are delicious and full of flavor. For a better experience I recommend sharing ;)

Quiet and good, but needs work

By deadserious |

You go to Morton's for a great steak. Mine was undercooked. The broccoli tasted only of garlic. Otherwise the staff was nice and accommodated me arrival very close to closing time. I expect more from the food though if I'm paying these prices.

Great lunch

Had the steak sandwich. Very tasty and good crunchy bread. The service was wonderful as always. Looking forward to my next meal at Morton's.

Great steak!

By eliotbrielle |

I have dined at several different Mortons over the years. This one was very good. Not the best, but very good. Overall the service was excellent, steak was great, side dish portions were slightly smaller than other Morton locations for some reason. In other Mortons locations the sides were enough for two, but here only for one. Odd. Prices are pretty high, but food quality was very good. Still they could bring down their steak prices a bit to a more reasonable level. Overall, a very good meal.

Bland! Bland! Bland!

By Lou Ann E |

This was a large group for a business meeting with a pre-selected menu--chicken or salmon with a lobster tail with green beans and mashed potatoes. Really? Green salad looked like it came out of a bag and many 3 tiny bits of cheese with a vinaigrette dressing that was so vinegary that I couldn't eat it. I can't eat so much so I asked for just the included lobster tail. No can do--had to get it all. REALLY! Salmon was cooked ok but no sauce. I asked for cocktail/remoulade/picante--something. Got Hollandaise. REALLY!! Mashed potatoes were not seasoned. After 2.5 hours, just got included desert to go. Tasted when I got home and Sara Lee is better. Very disappointing.

Great place for lunch and reasonable

By KUFBH |

This is a beautifully decorated restaurant which 4 of us (two couples) visited for lunch. It was not crowded as we arrived after 1 PM. Service was excellent. Specials were carefully described by the waiter. They have a three course luncheon menu for $30 that is a bargain considering the location, atmosphere, and reputation of the restaurant. I had a 9 ounce rib eye steak that was tender and very tasteful preceded by an appetizer of soups or salads (several choices) climaxed by a chocolate mousse. My wife had an omelet that was wonderfully prepared. The only downside was an oriental salad that was plentiful but covered with too much soy sauce. Other than that, we would return, but stick to the 3-course menu as there are several choices of entrees. They have valet parking, but there is plentiful free parking available outside.

The food was mediocre the wait staf was ill informed whic led to confusion as was the hostess, being a long standing member VIP with Mortons prior to the aqcuistionn by Landrys which has devalued the experience and jerked its original cutomers all around as this recent experience as i was quoted different prices by different people and when the tally arrivede confronted manager and was told well thats our prices and my rply was be honest to your customers up front and the nuiances are rediculous whe u consider the over priced poor qualitt reduced portins and increaased prices and pathetic presentation by comparison, while del friscos and ruths chris may not be part of a larger operation it seems a lot more consistent to dine there where you no up front and the consistency is steadfast and the staf appears to hANDLE UP EVEN THE PHONE CHARGER AND CORD WAS SUB PAR

BAD BURGER AND EXPECTATIONS

By PETERMEX |

I'm a Landry's Select Member and loyal to Morton's, from the Chicago Original restaurant. The first Morton's to the San Francisco one. When you visit a Morton's and they cooked your Burger really bad are not the standards. And when you write privately to the Manager with No respond there is and extra Bad Cooking, Bad Experience, and Bad Costumer Marketing service. The Owners will not be happy with this. The Manager Don't care. Well you lost one of the best costumers you can have. Also I'm a Top Tripadvisor Contributor. And many more good things. We have many many good places in Houston where I visit frequently. Premium Dining and not other things with a name. You represent a franchise and need to keep the standards of the Brand.

Delicious

My steak was impeccably cooked. The bar has a good selection of bourbon too. The serve was also very attentive.

Always great steaks!

By andrewpderry |

Mortons always gives the high quality you would expect from a high-end steak house. I had the bone in rib-eye, medium rare. It was just beautiful. Well done Mortons

The perfect venue for an excellent meal an excellent service.

Morton steakhouse galleria in Houston Texas is one of my favorite spots for dinner. Service, ambience, hygiene and noise levels are almost perfect. And you can’t forget about the location.

“Daughters Graduation Dinner!”

Houston Restaurant week -Supports Houston Food Bank

By judybh3ah |

We decided to have date night at Morton's because they were donating 7.00 to the Houston Food Bank which would feed 21 people with that donation. We were impressed with the décor and ambiance. The waiter was very attentive and the food was fantastic. There was a special menu for the Donation to the food bank, which was 45.00 per person for 3 courses. I had the honey crusted salmon which was great and my husband had a Filet mignon which he could cut with a fork. The only negative was the price of a cocktail, it came close to 30.00 for a martini ! Way over priced for a drink, we had drinks prior to our reservation at a local bar and had 2 for that price. Otherwise the food was great and service was great , just expect to spend a few hundred dollars on drinks, meal and a tip.

Top Eatery

By John J |

This is a large very successful chain/ franchise. We went as a group to this restaurant as a large group. The steaks as one takes for granted in Texas, we're huge and very tasty. The portions are as big as the State, no starters required! It has a good atmosphere and is run very efficiently. The service can only be described as highly professional which made for a nice change. If you are around the Galleria area you will not be dissointed!

Wow!

By StarfishSwe |

Amazing! My husband had the ribeye cajun special - perfectly cooked and with a crisp cajun cover made it one of the best stekas he’s had (and he loves Morton’s). The mixed grill with a filé mignon, baconwrapped scallops and fried shrimp was absolutely delicious. Our waiter Isa was the best!

Hospitality at its best

By johnamann |

Besides a fabulous steak, the little touch will set you apart and that's exactly what the staffs at Morton. The reservation was made for a Birthday for a party of 4. Upon our arrival the hostess welcomed our party with our name and after establishing the person with the birthday she cheerfully wished me a happy birthday. Our server gave us special customized. A regular menu dessert was comp with 4 chocolate truffles. Before leaving, I was giving a framed photo taken during Dinner with the special menu rolled up and tied with a black ribbon. Now that is class and hospitality.

So many of these around the country. This one a bit average.

By Richard H |

Went for happy hour snacks and drinks at the bar. We’ve tried Morton”s in other locations. Normally good food, good service at a reasonable price. I guess the word is consistent. But not here I’m afraid. Food was ok but service a bit of a miss. Barman whilst not busy didn’t really serve us well. Took the order. Plonked the food on the high table and did little else. Ambiance a bit rusty. Place comes across a bit tired. Might look for other places for happy hour snacks in future.

Awesome dining experience

By Carla K |

I recently enjoyed a group business dinner at this location. The crab cakes were the best I have ever had with large chunks of crab. The filet mignon was perfect. The staff was fun yet professional. This venue is an excellent business or romantic setting.

Terrible! The service was awful, the food was not tasty and they did not care about the reservations.

By Moni Vallejo |

Terrible, the service was awful, the food was not tasty, we ordered a steak frite medium well and it was medium with all the blood, also we did a reservation at 10:00 and we got a table almost 40 minutes later, the waiter was really rude, he got mad because we did not want to drink alcohol and then he did not give me the expected service.

Amazing

By Matt G |

I have eaten and used the bar facility here on numerous occasions and each time the food, cocktails and regular drinks have been amazing. The ambiance is fantastic whether you are sitting at the bar or in the restaurant, it is comfortable with plenty of space between tables so cross talk is not a problem and this makes it quite intimate. I have met the General Manager (Eric) and his very able assistant (Patrick) both of whom are very professional and knowledgable about the foods and wines on offer and they have a genuine interest in their guests not just the guests experience at the restaurant which adds a very personal touch too. The bar staff, Tee, Julia are superb, attentive yet discreet when needs be, you re never left without a drink. Attention to detail is good here, nothing is too much trouble from the valet service through to the management. Please try this restaurant if you want a good food, ambience and location experience.
