So many tv’s, great wings and a cold beer or twelve! Close to the train station so not bad to grab and go!! Great environment and great waitresses!

Fun atmosphere, wonderful staff. Waitress was superb and friendly( I believe her name was Natasha). Dwayne on the T.V. was super nice. Had wings and the taco salad. Portions are huge!! Watched the Hurricanes vs. Virginia Tech game. Fun night for out of towners.

We were looking to watch a World Cup soccer game some where while we were visiting Chicago. We ended up at Mother Hubbard’s sports pub. There is an abundance of TV’s on very wall. We sat at the bar and had a couple of IPA beers at $8each watching a great soccer match, bartender was very pleasant. We shared chicken wings $10 ( large amount w/ carrots and celery) was good also shared a delicious hamburger $11. Had a great time.

This was my first visit here. Server messed up a few things and just wasn't there. One of my friends order was wrong and she acted like it was our fault. She mislead me on a item. I didn't want a basket of fries which was $3.95. She says so you just want a side? My response yes, I can't eat a basket nor do wanna pay $4.00 for fries. Well she wrote side order on receipt but charged me for a basket. I explained this to the new server and she explained they only had one size and that should have been explained. My friend asked for nachos with cheese and jalapeños only. It came with guacamole as well. They took both off the bill and we just canceled the nachos. We were told she had personal issues and had gone home. I gave them a 4 based off of my food and the new server who took over. Drinks were good but a lil pricey. I'll take that over a watered down drink. With a good server I can see why this is a popular place. I will consider returning.

Very friendly staff. Sports bar thats older and a bit run down, but not a dive bar. More of a neighborhd bar feel. No cover. Serves food til the wee hours. Beware of the numerous chicago beggars that frequent the area. Mixed drink like crown n coke will set you back $8.50

We ate there twice during our stay! The wings and pizza really good. Cold beer specials. Service average! Good location. Always something going on!

My 20-year-old daughter and I wanted to grab a late lunch. Wanted something cheesy and hot. We were told we had to sit in the back so we ordered the Mexican Combo to take out. Got back to the hotel and had a good laugh. The only cheese on this soggy disaster was some sprinkled parmesan on the lettuce and half slice of tomato that came with it. No seasoning and I would guess the enchilada and burrito were somehow steamed instead of baked by how soggy and limp they were. Would rather have Taco Bell any day! The only reason I gave it an average rating is because we did not dine in or have drinks so I only have one dish to go by but what I had was not even one star.

A little hole-in-the-wall but great brew with great service. They keep their TVs on the big games and will change channels for you if you need something different. Lively stop during NFL games.

Spent most of the day at this pub. Had a great time. It was extremely busy but our waitress Alisha was the best. Great service from her.

We wanted to see the NFL playoffs and the atmosphere was great, that's why I gave it 3 stars. For the rest pretty bad. We ordered Cheese curds, basket of potatoes, pepperoni pizza and short ribs. The pizza is in the TOP3 of the worst in my life, the ribs were very hard and poorly prepared and the only good thing was the cheese curds. As a sporting experience, fine, for the rest… Never again…

I was really surprised that not only is it a sports bar, but their bbq ribs were fall off the bones good. Haven't had bbq ribs this tender for a while.

This place is filled with televisions for viewing virtually every sporting event. The service is friendly and very attentive. We only had an appetizer, which was very good. The other food delivered to nearby tables also looked good.

We went to have some drinks & watch the Kentucky vs Notre Dame game. While the place was packed we got 7 people in without any problems. We ordered beers & enjoyed the atmosphere. Great place to watch the game. Enjoyed our time & will go back! Plus the prices for drinks were great for Chicago!

Called in here twice during our recent visit to Chicago - buzzing and popular with tourists and locals. Friendly and quick service. Tacos are delicious as are the massive bbq wings. Plenty of TV screens, good to catch with whatever game you fancy. Would have given 5* but the tables are scruffy with split plastic table covers, needs a little updating.

This is a nice sports bar. A lot of TVs. Went there to watch the bulls game, they're showing the Notre Dame Game but a staff just changed one of the TVs only for me!! This is a great place to have nice time watching games.

Racist bar only industry invited. But they have no way to identify industry! They let groups of white people in without asking if they had anyone on the inside or if they bought a table.

We couldn't find anyplace else in our neighborhood that was serving food after the opera, so we wound up here. The kitchen's open until something like 3am. Comfy neighborhood place, lots of sports on TV. I had nachos, my date had grilled cheese and chili. The waitress was happy to make substitutions and changes, service was good. We were threatened and chased by a street character on our way out just after midnight, so do be careful in the neighborhood!

If you like cold beer and great wings, this is your place. We walked in and were greeted with a smile.

I've had the pleasure of having drinks at Mother Hubbards 3-4 times over the last year or so!! I've emailed a few times to inquire if they would have access to the games I want and every time, I receive a email response within minutes!! The service, food & # of TVs are amazing!!! If you plan to watch a game, plan to get there a few minutes before the start of your game to get a good seat as they're always busy which is a testament to their service & quality of food! A MUST PLACE TO GO t to watch sports!!!

We came in about 4pm last Saturday plenty early before the Hawks game and was asked if we were staying for the game, it seemed as if they were going to make you pay to watch the game. Good thing we were only there for 2 drinks to burn some time. The female bartender was very nice and kept our cups of water full all the time. They have a few selections on draft.

My daughter and I went to watch the Xavier game. Does not impress from the outside but it was exactly what we were looking for inside. Plenty of tv's - cold beer - nice attentive staff. Food was surprisingly good. A notch above normal bar food. Homemade chicken vegetable soup was good - had a hint of chili powder which was unexpected in a good way. A mixed crowd age wise and definitely a local spot. Worth a visit if you want to have better than average bar food and perfect place to watch your favorite team.

The staff had the music so load I thought I was in a club. Had to yell at the server when she did finally come over after joining the bartenders and other servers in dancing to the rap music with drunk customers. Came to watch Sunday night football but left after eating an order of cheese curds. The curds were good but the rest of the service was terrible. Almost like the manager or supervisor was either gone or just as wasted as the staff. Don’t go here if you want to do anything other than a cheap white trash makeshift dance club.

Really great food and location. The staff was really cool and laid back but also attentive. This is a must if you’re in Chicago!

My friend brought me here for a drink and we ended up staying and chatting for a few hours with some awesome strangers, the bartenders and staff. Good drinks, large selection and great prices. We did not eat, but the menu looked awesome and the prices were fair. The staff was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Great spot to watch the Blackhawks, Bears or Cubs.

First and foremost, Mother Hubbard's is a sports bar. There are dozens of TVs showing every sport imaginable. I was able to watch college hockey while others were watching baseball and the NBA. . I ordered a burger and it was great. Cooked medium rare as ordered and served with fries. I ordered a side of cole slaw. I would definitely order the burger again but pass on the slaw.

Good food just behind hotel. Great staff. Very good Margarita. Warning tho. ....hot wings are hot....lol

If you're a tourist in Chicago and you want to hang out in a bar that's like one from your hometown, this is the place. Simple, authentic, friendly staff, good drink prices, solid food. I came here 3 times on a trip to Chicago 6 years ago, stopped back in the next summer when I was in town with a friend. Back in Chicago now, we made this out destination to watch a key Lions game. It hasn't changed...rock solid normalcy & goodness. The mixed drinks are a good pour (not stingy!). We had the deluxe pizza because it was half-off with a bucket of beer. The crust was thin & crispy, which I prefer, but could use a bit more character. Toppings are good, though. Great friendly service. This is the perfect place to go when you don't want to feel like a tourist.

The wings are big and inexpensive-we ordered them hot and wet and were not disappointed. Also, got a Chi dog. They gave out towels for an NFL quiz. Great people!!!

In from Houston and looking for someplace to watch the game, we went to Mother Hubbards. There's TVs everywhere and when you walk in, they ask you what team you're wanting to watch and seat you accordingly!! Pretty cool if you ask me!! Our server greeted us pretty quick and got our drinks. We ordered a pizza and wings. The wings were really big and tasty! The pizza? I wasn't a fan. The sausage tasted ok, but the thin crust was too crunchy (and thick if that makes sense) and there just wasn't enough sauce or cheese. Stick with the wings and you'll be fine.

Genuinely good local bar. Plenty of beer and beverage options. Great service with friendly staff. Would absolutely return.

Sports pub atmosphere with noise, 8 different games, excellent menu and service, comfortable for lunch and keeping up with all the NFL games.....pkus a fish tank wall.

Mother Hubbard's specializes in friendly ambience, nothing at all pretentious, just great food, great service and 44 high quality TVs. I was thrilled to see grilled cheese and soup on the menu at a very modest price ($6), including cole slaw and french fries. My husband had one quarter chicken with plenty of sides and attractively presented for bar food. We asked for the Chicago Bears to be put on the TV ( they actually won!!!!); nobody chased us out , even though we were done with our meal. We have gone to Mother Hubbard's several times over the past 10-12 years and have always had a very satisfying experience (and great food)

Fabulous wings and the wait staff - even better! Plenty of TV's great atmosphere. All the food looked delicious. So Fun. Right when you walk in, you are greeted and attended to immediately. Great Place!

We went here for dinner when the Bears were playing on Thursday night just to see what a Chicago Sports Pub would be like then. Before the game started on the 20+ TVs, the music was really loud (for our taste). It took a little while to be recognized by a waitress, but after that the service was about average for this kind of place. Their Buffalo Wings were the biggest we'd ever seen and they were genuinely hot. The ribs were award winning, but they are not the type that I like. The meat fell off the bones and they were drenched in BBQ sauce which had a good flavor. The baked potato was not very good and sour cream for it was an added cost. I had never seen that before. The tables are really close and you could easily hear a conversation at another table if the audio had been less loud. I guess that's why it's so loud.

Segregation is back in a new form! Age! We were coming back from a boat ride and we decided to eat at "Mother Hubbard's" I was with my 6 other family members and to our surprise when we walked in they said to us "I'm sorry but we don't allow children in her after 6:00" and the youngest we had was 9! There were police there to prevent bar fights and keep kids out. Staff said they were sorry but I think they did not care the littlest. We decided to eat at the restaurant next door. So I strongly advise against alerting at this restaurant not only because they don't allow kids but also that I want to NOT dine in such fear that they have to have police present to keep the restaurant peaceful. But if you're a gangbanger then go for it!

Always a great stop to feel at home. Great sports atmosphere and the bartenders and wait staff are always super friendly. Love making a stop here when I’m in the city.

Nice place to catch a game on TV. Usual bar food, wings are full sized tasty but messy. Bottle beer can be purchased by the bucket. Friendly staff but a little slow when they are busy.

So let's not be expecting anything fancy, gastronomically! This place is fine if you use it for what it's meant to be used for; watching sports! Food is fatty and pretty gross, but it's washed won well with beers.

Visiting on business and needed a place to catch the Cubs vs. Dodgers. This place was fantastic, local place. Good vibe, fun place!

We called in for something to eat around lunchtime. The place is full of TV's showing every sport imaginable. The food is pretty standard but perfectly suited to the enviroment of watching sport! The servers are fun and efficient. Good spot!

We come here every time we are in the city. Tons of televisions, simple food. Love the grilled cheese and nachos.

I highly recomend the grilled cheese. Best I have ever had by a mile. great drink specials and reasonable prices. The staff was great! Will be going back next time in Chicago and trying the Frencheesie!

Plenty on tv's. Affordable food and beer . Had the grilled cheese with tomato soup. Pool tables. Plenty of room to move around.

We were visiting the city for the weekend and didn't think aout making a reservation for dinner so we ended up at Mother Hubbards. On a Friday night, we were greeted by two large bouncers at the door. We went in and looked around and all tables looked full, so we turned around to leave and one of the big guys said he would find us a seat, which he did. It was a nice table with a street people watching veiw. We ordered a couple tap beers @ $7.50 a glass. The waitress seemed in a hurry when she came and took our order after a few minutes. The food was basic bar food, we ordered a bowl of yummy chili, two pulled chicken sandwiches and a club sandwich. My husband's club was huge! This bar offers lots of TV's for watching sports with a group friendly atmosphere. Overall we enjoyed our meal. Kudos to the front door staff, they were very friendly!

Stopped in here while traveling to watch some sunday football. The bar is no different than most other sports bars. Numerous large TV's, some weren't HD which was annoying but they had almost every NFL game on at once (missing maybe 1 or 2). Good selection of beer and the staff was prompt with refills when you get low. Overall a nice experience.

This place is awesome. Great wings. Lots of tv's. My husband & I almost walked past this place due to the fact that it seemed crowded. The guy managing the door grabbed us & said he'd find us a spot. Good as his word he set us up with a table, turned a tv to the Phillies game (we were visiting from Philly) and within 20 minutes we had beers and wings. Had an amazing time. Crowd was so energetic and fun.

Awesome sports bar with great wings and burgers! They even reserved me a seat for the AFC Playoff game between the Chiefs and the Colts! Awesomely friendly bartenders and servers. Even the security staff were a hoot!

If you love having overcooked wings, undercooked fries, and no water refills for your party during a 40 minute visit, I highly encourage you to bypass the freezer section of your local supermarket and let Mother Hubbard's take care of you instead. If you love playing musical chairs with water and being a glass short of having one for everyone for the duration of the meal, I heartily recommend Mother Hubbard's. The restaurant has mediocrity down to an art. The servers won't ask how things are because well, they already know.

Cheap drinks and food, billiards area, lots of seating on the interior, plenty of tvs for sports. Fun environment. Get the nachos with chicken.

Had a great time here watching the playoff games and the hockey game. Tons of TVs and great beer selection and wings. Must stop here if in the area

I stopped in here due to great reviews. The ribs were delicious and fall off the bone tender. I got the full slab that included a baked potato, corn on the cob and coleslaw. My intention was to take half of the food back to my hotel room (which had a refrigerator and microwave) and have dinner. My plan worked perfectly and dinner was delicious also. The service at Mother Hubbard's was very good. I would stop in next time I am in the area.

We were in town for a few days and I've never had an original Chicago dog. We both ordered one. I was not impressed but didn't say much. My partner was disappointed. He said it was not what a Chicago dog should be. The bun was stale & the potato chips were stale but beer was cold. Will try Chicago dog at another place tonight.

My husband and I discovered this place by accident, walking the streets of Chicago. Welcomed by the staff and sit at the bar, immediately we fell in love with this place: because of the kindness of the staff and of the delicious food and drinks. We kindly ask the staff to thank so much Robert from Ohio, who was so kind and generous to offer us the dinner!! Our honey moon in USA (Route66) couldn't start better!! Robert, we will wait for you and your family in Italy!! Thanks so much and thanks so much Mother Hubbard's Sports Pub! Elisa & Manuel from Torino (Italy)

This is a hole in the wall bar with a beer menu consisting of mostly domestic drafts though they do have a craft selection...it was weak. The beer prices are good for downtown Chicago...which is what earned them 3 stars. Otherwise, their food menu is mostly fried and unhealthy. The menu had their "famous" Campbells Tomato Soup with a grill cheese...sorry I thought that was neither creative nor appetizing. I don't think I'll be back.

Took about 10 people to Mother Hubbards, a very well known traditional sports bar, which it is, right on. The wait staff are friendly, and this is a great place for beer and snacks, however for a wholesome meal, the quality is just not there unfortunately. The cleanliness of the pub, and the amenities leaves a lot to be desired, and they would need to work on these items before I would recommend returning there.

Visiting Chicago with a friend and decided to stop in for a drink. Pleasant bartenders that weren't in their 20's and knew how to carry on a conversation with a couple of sassy 60 yr old women. Stopped back the 2nd night and had a bite to eat ... chicken wings were delicious and more than I could eat.

Great place to watch sports. Lots of television sets. They will change to game you are interested in. Food is average bar food. Pool table in back room if you are so inclined to play.

This place has a ton of televisions. A great view from any seat in the bar. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The food was good. If your looking for a great sports bar to watch a game this is it.

Whilst walking around Chicago we found this great little place. There are lots of T.V's showing sports. The staff are friendly, the beer is plentiful and although we didn't eat here, the food smelled and looked lovely.

Stopped in here after a concert at the Chicago Theatre. Had a great time. Being St Patty’s Weekend it was pretty busy, no room to sit. But our waitress was very attentive and kept our drinks full.

Totally ignored by the staff looking for a table for 4 people, the waitress had no clue about the beer special with 1/2 priced chicken wings and charged full price, the manager was extremely overbearing and they were not able to void the wrong receipt, because the did not find it anymore after 5 minutes! After a long wait the pay gave us back 8 $ and it should have been 12,-$ All in all a very bad experience, not to recommend anymore and I was a fan of that bar for years!

Lots (and lots) of TV screens so wherever you sit you have a good view. Staff friendly and attentive, checking on drinks and food - which came really fast considering place was packed (we had pre-booked). Fun night was had - good sports bar with very reasonably priced food - and free Wi-Fi.

A huge number of big screens, attentive and friendly service, huge portions of typical American food - what's not to like? You go here for the sports and the atmosphere rather than fine dining and there is an honest and authentic feel to the place which makes for a fun evening. We liked it a lot. We were searching for a pizza place but ended up here. We're not great sports fans, but if we had been I don't think there would be anywhere better. In an area where sports bars are ten a penny.

Worst frontman i ever saw (black guy bearded) humiliating costumers to make his friends (supossed to be working) laugh

I came in with a group of 26 friends as a reservation. When we arrived at the pub they did not have enough papers for us to order separate so we were forced to order in groups of five and have to figure out the cost on our own which was a bother as some of us had debt. I later ordered a coca-cola beverage which came full of ice and barely any of the drink, and of course didn't come with free refills. Next, I ordered a chicken quesadilla, in which I recieved chicken greaseadilla. When my side of wings showed up several of them had hairs sticking out of them in which I caught one between my teeth. Finally, their bathroom is portrayed as if it was a scence in a horror film with poor black and gloomy colour scheme

The wide selection of beer, the numerous televisions and the great food make this a great place to stop and get away from the hustle and bustle for a bit. Don't see the game you want? Ask and they will change a channel for you to watch what you want!

Stopped in New Year Day to get a drink and watch a little football. We ended up eating there also. The food was very good, good beer selection, and great staff.

This bar was PACKED on the Saturday we visited. It seems to have a strong local following. Tons of TVs for viewing favorite games

Great location, 2 minute walk from Grand Red Line. Couple of English blokes walked in on a Friday afternoon. We were the 1st people in. Welcomed warmly be the bartender, this is a good old fashioned American sports bar. We were soon joined by some blokes who were in town to watch Clemson play Notre Dame and the place became lively! Went back on Saturday night and it was packed with people watching all sorts of College football. TV's everywhere. Great atmosphere. Went back on Monday as our last night and watched the Bulls game with friendly locals and bar staff. Loved it.

Came here after a late dinner for some night caps and had a blast. Our waitress Jill was the BOMB!!! Drinks were well made and reasonably priced. Kind of a dive bar, but there's nothing wrong with a good dive bar! Great for late night fun. Thanks again for being awesome Jill!

I was in town for work and in the mood for wings, and looking at some online reviews, people were saying this place was rated as having the best buffalo wings in Chicago, so I decided walk a few blocks down from my hotel and try it out. The wings did not disappoint -- they were crispy, just the right size, and the sauce was tasty but not overly spicy. They are served whole, so it gets a little messier than normal. I also had the 2-alarm chili, which was pretty good (it packed punch), as well as a side of cheese & broccoli, which is big portion of steamed broccoli, which a sprinkling of melted a cheese and pat of butter. The place itself has a typical sports bar ambience -- a few pool tables, tons of TVs, tables with checkered tablecloths, etc. My server was super sweet and attentive as well. Thumps up to Mother Hubbard's

This place SERIOUSLY has the BEST wings that I have had in a long time! BEST Turkey burger!!!!! If you are in Chicago come here.

Called in frm work lovely counter staff Olivia all enjoy the Xmas banter nicola the fryer singing away to her such a experience for me to see people laughing at work

Mother Hubbard's is a typical neighborhood bar with sketchy people standing outside and a U shaped bar with 20 TV's playing 4 stations and pool tables in the back. The bar tenders were nice and attentive for bar keeps. The food choices are interesting. Their specialty is the grilled cheese melt. They must have a cook in the back who can melt cheese with the best French chef's of all time. I asked the bouncer who told me to look for the chicken sandwich. Good call because the Chicken club was the best thing I ate over three days in the Windy City. The accompanying fries were also quite good. Pay attention to the cool old register they use to keep tabs on the patrons. Welcome to the 18th century! I like that touch of the old with the new LED tv's.

This is a nicer neighborhood bar than some of the Dives that are on Hubbard Street. Good location one block west of Michigan and one block north of the river. Service is friendly. A little pricey, but not too bad. Very clean and not totally upscale, but not a dive bar type of atmosphere. They do serve food till the wee hours of the morning. So it's a good place to get a late night meal fix.

Plenty of televisions around showing all sorts of sports, friendly staff and excellent food. They have some of the best, and biggest, buffalo wings in Chicago. Their signature burger is also excellent, broiled to perfection. Good beer selection and a cool, casual crowd, definitely a great place to catch a game or just enjoy some nice grub and suds.

Really enjoyed having a couple drinks here. Food was OK but the wings are incredible. Location is perfect for a little bar hoping.

Nachos were watery oil can cheese and gross. The tables have peaked plastic that will stick you tiles missing and smells like the building is rotten. TVs are great but you will get food that tastes out of a can and tables that will give you a infections

The food was average but the staff was very accommodating and the place has over 20 tvs to watch your favorite team. Even if your game is not on , the staff, if asked, will turn it on for you. Fans are polite and not too rowdy. Nice place for a Sunday afternoon.

Popped in here for the end of the night. Great laid back bar. Plenty of tvs to catch a game and a couple pool tables in the back. Glad we stopped in hopefully next time we will come early enough to check out the food too.

We called in after a long walk and sat at the bar. The place is full of locals and there was plenty of banter going on. The beers were cheaper than a lot of other bars. If you are looking to watch a match then there are TV's a plenty. Clean restrooms. A nice crowd.

My husband and I asked the front desk at our hotel where they recommended in walking distance to watch a game. I am so glad that the lady said she would pick this pub. It was exactly what we were hoping for to watch some March Madness games. We both had the Chicago dog and shared pitchers of beer. We weren't rushed out and the staff was attentive throughout our time there. We noticed several other dishes as they came out and they looked good too!

Probably one of the best sports bars we've visited, a good atmosphere, friendly staff, great beer and fabulous hot wings. Well worth the visit.

Went there with a group of friends. Waiter disappeared with the excuse that she had no paper to take our order...we noted down what we wanted to eat on a peace of paper ourselves and went to the bar to get our drinks. The food was the worst pre-produced convenience stuff that was ever placed in front of me. OK, I did not expect real restaurant food, but this was barely eatable. Can't recommend this place at all.

We are from Iowa and are big Hawkeye fans and we planned to go to Theory next door to watch the game but it was full so we wandered in here. Not much to look at on the inside or the outside however they had the Iowa game on with sound which was what we were looking for. They had a good deal for a bucket of beers and I had a build your own grilled cheese which was really good. My husband has the wings which he thought were only ok. Our waitress was really nice and very attentive and we ended up watching the whole game here. Overall was a good experience.

My husband and I visited the bar during our trip to Chicago. It's a small bar, but has a great atmosphere. Very sports focused, has TVs all over with a variety of games on at once so there is something for every fan. It was a little difficult to find the bar from google maps as it is on a street below Michigan avenue. We only had a few drinks while watching the hockey and had some wings and fries. The food was basic but tasty and the prices are very reasonable. The staff are very friendly and the place has s great atmosphere. I would recommend to any sports fan.

Grill is open late for the late night eaters. Burgers are huge and very good. Wait staff is very friendly and they have security watching everyone. Even put a man who had a little too much into a cab.

We first came upon Mother Hubbard's while visiting Chicago 12 years ago. It is a must stop ever since. We were there this weekend, and as usual friendly, fun staff. Your treated like a regular whether you are or aren't. You never fail to meet new people, and walk out with some new friends. Jason is sure to make you feel at home, and ask Michelle for an Espresso Martini, she makes one of, if not the best. Cheers to Mother Hubbard's!

This was my first stop on a recent trip to Chicago, and I feel like I found a real local gem. This is a great place to just have a beer and watch sports on what seems to be 30 or more flat screen TV's. However, the food is also better than I expected and reasonably priced for the area. The wings are excellent. The burrito was quite filling. I would certainly return if I was in the area again.

This River North Sports bar offers lots of TVs and decent food (I like their burrito.) It's comfortable and has the feel of a neighborhood bar. They seem to have a lot of regulars. Pool tables and video games for those interested.

We go to this pub every time we are in Chicago. I love the atmosphere along with the friendly staff. We never feel like out of townees when we visit there.

fun sports bar with a good selection and great wings. Had my first shot of Malort. Staff was nice and welcoming.

I go to Mother Hubbard's every time I visit Chicago. No pretension, just a fun, comfortable place to hang out. Drink prices are what you'd expect in Chicago, but the food prices are very reasonable. On this trip I had the Chicago-Style Dog. An excellent grilled Vienna with all the trimmings. Loved it!

Went there to grab some food around 12:30am. We tried the mexican they had on the menu and it was served barely warm and pretty bland. The space is big and popular, had a line outside waiting to get in. They are open til 4am or 5am most nights so it turns into quite the drunken place to be as the night goes on.

The pub is set on a pretty busy street and offers your standard sports pub food. The chili and burger are good value and they have an OK beer selection. There are plenty of TV's to show the games. It was particularly annoying to be carded on a Wednesday night seeing the average age of our party was well above 21.

The food was very good. We had chicken wings, pizza and the burrito platter. The service was very good. This bar is small and unique. The only thing to know is after 5 you need an id. They close to under 21 at that time.

This is a wonderful neighborhood bar that is a great place to relax and watch games. Immediately felt comfortable with all the games on various televisions. Natalia was our bartender/server and very attentive. We ordered a combo sampler of chicken wings, ribs, mozzarella cheese, and mac and cheese bites. Perfect for watching games. Shiner Bock and Fat Tire were refreshing on tap as well as a generous pour of Jack Daniels. Lots of people in and out were obviously regulars. Convenient to our hotel.

I have/had never been to Chicago (down town) before and I was told this place was must see - Best wings ever I was told. I am not sure they are the best, but I would recommend if you like cold beer, unique wings, too many TVs watch, and a cool atmosphere, this is a must see. Not sure I would ever go back. But worth checking out.

We visited here on a Sunday afternoon to watch some football and eat wings and bar food. None of which disappointed!! The wings were a bit too large for me, because I don't like them still attached, but the flavor was great. It's an excellent find downtown to watch sports.

great atmosphere , can play pool or have some drink with friends 45 televisions. 28 satellite feeds. Game on!

Stopped her for lunch and to watch the game. Food is good. Lots of TVs to watch the game. The staff is awesome and service is great

Stopped by this establishment to watch football game - lots of TVs. Service was subpar (we ordered nachos with no meat and it took over 45 minutes). Nachos were good. Left at half-time for our dinner reservation at another restaurant.

I forgot how much I loved a Chicago Francheezie. They are hard to find. Mother Hubbards sports pub has a great one . Jumbo Vienna dog split down the middle filled with melted Cheddar and wrapped in bacon-😜 Not very heart healthy but well worth a once s month risk!! Never had one ?? Try it u will be hooked too !!

Simply stopped in for a drink at the bar on a Friday night. The place was pretty busy, but the bartender (there was only one working at the time) was pretty quick to provide service. Decent selection of beers and a fair amount of TVs (although it looked like some weren't HD, didn't think that was possible these days). Reasonable enough place to grab a beer, that is a little more "old school" (I guess I mean "dive", but in a good way) than many of the River North places.

It was my first time in Chicago and I really wanted to try a Chicago hot dog. After an extra long work day, I decided that I wanted to find a place that met the following criteria: served Chicago hot dogs, served alcohol, had television so I could watch the Cubs/White Sox game, and was within walking distance of my hotel. A quick google search directed me to Mother Hubbard's. The interior was pretty much what expected and I found the service to be quite good. However, I was really disappointed with the hot dog. It came with everything on the side so I needed to assemble it myself. Is that customary? I did okay until I got to the pickle spear. It was enormous and wouldn't fit. I may have got my hopes up too high for the hot dog experience because I was certainly let down and found it be just meh.

I popped in here on my last day for drinks only so never got to experience the bar when sports where on but the drinks are reasonably priced so couldn't complain. The bar was also lively at night time to so worth a visit if on a pub crawl around River North.

Clyde was the best, 10/10 wonderful spot for a drink and food. Welcoming and wholesome. Great location and love that it’s open late

We came across this place, well, because nothing else was open. The service sucked, but they were friendly. I think they were understaffed, or the ones on duty were just plain lazy. But we had a good time and met some cool people. Good place to get your drink on!

Bar was not busy but waitress stood around talking more than waiting. Guess they only want people who are drinking - drinks may be good but the food needs help!

This place is located near to many famous places such as Uno Pizzas, they have a wide variety of local beers. Is not noisy, so you can talk without screaming.

If you want local, gotta go to Mother's. Good pool tables, lots of beer choices and just feels so "Chicago." You can sit around the bar and think how this place would rock during a sporting event. When nothing is on, it's pretty quiet. Can't say anything about the food as I've never eaten here. Just a classic.

Decided to blow off sitting in traffic with all the rain today and grab a bite since I had to be back down in the area later tonight As usual a great sandwich ( burger), fresh not frozen and the beers are always cold Great spot and a place where the locals eat and drink, so you know it's good

The bartender is fabulous- they opened early just for us. We love Ron and Jason! Great atmosphere and good music.

My son, who is 21 years old, and I visited on a short vacation in Chicago. We wanted to just relax have a good meal and watch some sports. This was the.perfect spot. Not too crowded for a Wednesday night and the food was delicious I had half rack of ribs and my son had their Mother Hubbard Burger. It is basically an inviting, old fashioned sports bar with exposed brick and plenty of TVs. I could see 20 from my seat. Service was excellent as well.

We used to live in Chicago suburbs and every time we return to the city, this is my husband's go to spot for pizza and wings. We always visit at least once while out and about. The pizza is thin crust and crispy with just the right amount of toppings. The wings are HUGE, doubles so order half as many as you think you can eat. The hot is very spicy without just being plain heat. Great flavor. Plenty of TVs to watch your favorite game too.

Went to this place a few times during my stay, it was welcoming. Some of the staff were not entirely friendly. The food was good and a good selection of beers. Lots of sport TV's in the bar.

This is a great, laid back sports bar. Decent drink prices, friendly staff, and delicious food. I recommend their build your own grilled cheese on Texas toast. It is to die for! Comes with campbells tomato soup and a heaping plate of fries! Yum

While in Chicago, we were surprised that we couldn't get food on N. Michigan at 10:30pm. Someone suggested we try Mother Hubbard. Try the burgers they said. Handmade. They did not disappoint. If you're a sports fan you will love all the screens. I struggled to focus on one screen. Bit distracting. Friendly service though and great burgers. I am sure we will head there on another late night.

Good time for a Sunday afternoon during football season. Great wings and nachos. But, table service was extremely slow. It took a loooong time to get a couple of beers and the people at the next table ended up chasing down staff to get menus. I'd go back but probably sit at the bar. Fun place to watch a game.

My husband and I visited Chicago from the UK earlier this month and we wanted to go to a real American sports bar to watch some American football. The barmaid at our hotel was a big football fan and she suggested we go to Mother Hubbard's - we were not disappointed! The bar is very noisy and busy, so don't go here if you're expecting a quiet meal. It's full of people chatting together and shouting at the 40+ TV's! We didn't eat there but lots of people were and the food looked good. The service was great, our waitress was friendly and attentive; our glasses were never empty for long before she came over to offer us another drink.

Underwhelming appearance but GREAT buffalo wings. Good place to watch any game on tv. Reasonable drink prices. Bring your ID. You're not getting in without it!

This bar is racist as racist could be! A group of whites came in with no problem. They didn’t even take the ids to check them thoroughly. They scanned our id’s and instantly said no. You have on ripped jeans, the jeans had fringes, no rips, or skin showing on my guy. The people in front of us had on workout gear, leggings, and jeans on. The security was very condescending and looked at me and my guy with disgust.

This sports bar is perfect for any sports fan, any time of day. Upon arrival, staff asks which game you want to see so they can seat you near the correct TV. Variety of food and drink, "build your own grilled cheese" option, fun atmosphere, excellent location. Open late. Service was on the slower side.

Wandered into this bar by accident, and so glad we did. Excellent tavern style pizza and great service.

The title says it all Great wings cold beer and football a plenty Stopped in after attending Lobster Fest at Navy Pier Lots of locals and great staff Give it a try when in the area

We went here to watch the MSU game. They have many large screen T.V.'s, however the sound is at a reasonable level so you can have great conversations while enjoying the food and game. The burger was big and good. Great neighborhood bar with good food!

Great pub with so many TVs well worth watching a game. Bar staff friendly and beer reasonably priced.

Friendly and professional staff, great service great food. Happily class this as a favourite Chicago pub!!

Nice place to go eat some wings, drink a beer or two, and watch your favorite game.Good, friendly service.

Don't bother! You have a billion options in downtown Chicago. The service here sucks. I travel all of the time from London to St. Petersburg to Dayton, Ohio. I don't believe that I have been treated worst. The food is at best OK and the service stinks. Go at your own risk....

This place is great for people visiting Chicago looking to catch their team play on television or for locals unable to get to the game because it is sold out. It is a fairly large bar with bar type food and many televisions. Drinks are reasonably priced, wait staff and bartenders are excellent. We went here to watch the sold out cubs game last spring and the crowd was super fun. We met friends here for a drink recently because it was near their hotel. If you like watching your favorite team with a group of like minded people while sipping a brew you will really enjoy this place.

Found this little place by mistake, went to watch the world series and some college football. Hostess and doorman were super friendly, wish I could remember their names. Had two waitresses, due to shift change. Neither of them were friendly and we sat there, dry mouth, waiting to order more beer and water. Wings were voted #1 in 2014 but was VERY disappointed. Wings must have come fresh off of a chicken in the back, just tossed in Frank's Hot Sauce. Don't order the wings! Beer was not cold, on tap. The atmosphere was your typical sports bar but it was a nice place. Would probably look around next time for another sports bar.

We dropped in to Mother Hubbards whilst on vacation to watch some sport. First of all we were well received by staff who put on the soccer for us. Whilst sitting watching the tv we were very aware of food coming from the kitchen so we decided to try the barbecued chicken wings - which CBS no other say are up there with the best. For once CBS are spot on - we can testify to that after we demolished a plate or two of wings. So if you are in the area and like wings you know where to go.

I hit Mother Hubbard's every time I make it to Chicago. It's always a great time. The staff couldn't be nicer and they will always make sure to put on a game you want to watch. Really great to hang out with other sports loving patrons. Make sure you ask for the quiz so you can win a prize!

This is my go to dive bar in river north. They have pool and touch tunes. The food is great and fairly priced. The drinks are good and not over priced. The service is great and friendly. I will go out of my way to go here!

Stopped for lunch and to watch football game - oh my - no less than 36 TV’s - you can watch in every direction. Food was good and beer was cold. Winner!

Good food and friendly servers. Good place to sit at the bar and watch a game. Nothing amazing but nothing disappointing as well. Lots of tvs and lots of sports. Sometimes that just what you need. A good simple sports bar with good simple pub food.

Stopped by Mother's with a group of family and friends on our way to dinner. Large bar area with plenty of tvs for watching you favorite sports. While we didn't eat there, we had fun with their waitstaff and drinks were very reasonable.

Dropped in for some drinks after dinner. A classic sports bar with more flat screens than you could count. Was really busy with march madness on, but had a good atmosphere and lively vibe to it. Most people watching the sports, drinking beer buckets and a few people playing pool. Service was a bit slow and the draft beer operation needs a bit of TLC. After a few rather flat pints of draft we decided that the bucket strategy was probably a better option for this place.

Great pub grub...only had the wings, but they were done right...saw many other dishes served to other patrons and they all looked scrumptious!!!

After a very long travel day that included trouble finding parking, I was starved and ready for a burger! This was within walking distance of my niece's office, and fit the bill perfectly. Delicious burgers and sides. The place was busy and loud as it was a Friday evening, but it was a positive busy and loud- good and fun energy!

This became one of my go places. Great Sports bar with multiple TV pool table and more. I ordered wings and was very surpised at the size. Very good in taste you will not be disappointed. The hamburgers are also great. I liked this place because it has a locale feel and everyone is very friendly. Will go back in a heartbeat

Good American pub with the usual food fare i.e. wings burgers etc. Good atmosphere and service. Nice selection of local beers.

Stopped in early after the Thanksgiving Day parade. Andrew was wonderful, very welcoming. As the place filled up, it was really nice to see such a variety of happy people. Bonus....the 1886 Burger and tots were great.

As an out-of-towner, I appreciated that they had *all* of the MLB games available. Good selection of local drafts, and a friendly staff. Haven't tried the food, but the guy next to me had the tacos and they smelled great. Fun place.

Not far off Michigan. They have the NFL ticket and more than likely will have your football game on. They have about 40 TVs although some are old and play games in low def. Service was fast and friendly. I recommend the Mother Hubbard's burger. The best part was that all the patrons were very friendly.

I popped into Mother Hubbard's to watch a hockey game. It was college bowl season so the place was busy. They have lots of TV's and great wait staff. The bartender was very helpful trying to find the game I was wanting to watch. This is my go to spot for watching sports in Chicago now. Nothing fancy, but you'll see the game you want.

Veteran bartenders and servers make this a special (and very Chicago) place for a game. Best bar food too!

Food was decent. Lots of great beers on tap, TV's all over and they will tune them into whatever sports you're looking for.

Called to order , took them forever to pick the phone up . Ordered the ribs and baked potato. OMG the ribs fell off the bone , delicious !!!! Was very busy and took a moment to pick up order

I ate at Mother Hubbard's for the first time based on some online reviews. While I must admit it would be a good atmosphere for watching sports, unfortunately I stopped by more for the food. Beer selection is average (although expensive, even for the city) with all the usuals plus some micros. Lots of TV's with multiple different sports on the various TVs. My issue was with the food, which was a disappointment. I ordered the chicken sandwich and fries, neither of which were impressive. I initially thought about getting Mexican but the bartender said they aren't very good (which I appreciated her telling me that!). I couldn't help but think if my meal was so disappointing, then the Mexican must be really bad. So I'd recommend this place for watching sports and grabbing some brews but I wouldn't go here for dinner.

Its the sixth year we're coming back to Mother Hubbards and it's always coming home again. Nothing changed! Food is like you expect in an American Sports Bar. The Wings are a bit to big but very tasteful.

ICONIC Practically an institution in Chicago's River North Entertainment District on Hubbard & State streets. Mother Hubbard's is a premier, downtown CHI sports bar with pool tables, darts, a jukebox, several huge flat screen TVs, sports memorabilia, full bar equipped with good selections of microbrews & imports and a good size dining room for large groups gathering for pre-game & post-game celebrations in every sport. The manager, Dennis, is an icon who has been working here since I started working in the "industry" 20 years ago and yet still refuses to age while maintaining his friendly, hospitality-oriented demeanor in an environment that would wear unfavorably on most of us. WINNING TEAM Indebted to Dennis' example of diligence and his clever, hiring patterns over the years that always compose a winning team with playful synergy. He very well may be the Phil Jackson of Chicago's F&B scene. For example, during peak hours and late nights, bartenders like Megan & Cassy remind me of Michael Jordan & Scottie Pipen during the 90s. (Just don't ask me which one is which). The managers are approachable and savvy while the door personnel/security team are smooth operators too. I'm sure they all get frustrated at times, but every emotionally charged situation I've witnessed has been diffused with a smile, a please and a thank you. Brilliant! PRICY...BUT VALUE-ADDED The only thing that held me back from a 5-Star rating, "as a local," is that many menu items are priced a bit higher than most are use to when it comes to an appetizer sampler ($18) and other pub food favorites. However, the food is wonderful, the burgers are cooked perfectly and the service is warm & approachable, regardless of whomever waits on me. To their defense, I might not blink twice if I was a businessman or tourist staying in one of the neighboring, posh hotels in the heart of downtown looking for a cold brew, a fresh bite and an update on the day's sport's scores. INDUSTRY-FRIENDLY Regardless of whether this is your first visit to River North or if you work in the area, I strongly recommend Mother Hubbard's. If you do work in an area hotel, restaurant or entertainment venue, tell your bartender or server so you can redeem an industry discount. If you truly are "industry," you'll be doing yourself a solid if you introduced yourself to Dennis. Be sure to thank him for his years of service, loyalty and the positive influence he continues to have in my life and in the lives of his current & former staff members. Stopped here after our concert and it was great. Not many places are open late downtown, highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area late and need a quick bite.

Here from out of town on business and went here to watch college football on a Saturday. Plenty of TVs and games. Have been here before and returned to see my team play as I knew they would put it on TV for me. They will try to accommodate everyone's preference and provide seating accordingly. Has the usual bar food. I had their wings and they were very good. Very large, full wings so messy and difficult to eat, but good.

With few options for late night food service, we found ourselves here to grab some food on the way back to the hotel after a late night of walking around town. It was after midnight when we arrived and they were busy, but we were able to get a table without any wait. We weren't looking for drinks, but there was a decent food selection for the time of day. They had a whole page on the menu dedicated to grilled cheese, so we ordered one along with some nachos. The nachos were decent, but we were disappointed with the grilled cheese. It was mediocre at best and the "homemade" vegetable soup that was served along with it was extremely salty without much other flavor. I would come back again if I didn't have any other late night food options, but I can't image I would ever be back earlier in the day and other establishments were serving food.

We had been enjoying a long evening of dinner and drink in Chicago and Mother Hubbard's came at the recommendation of the hotel bellmen. Had drinks and Chili. Good vibe late night.

Husband and son found this bar while waiting for my daughter and me to wrap up some holiday shopping. We met them there and found it to be delightfully cozy. It had a vintage charm about it. The bartender was super nice and they had a great selection of bourbons! We started getting hungry before their full kitchen service opened around 4 pm (I think) but the bartender inquired and let us know what offerings they were able to prepare at that time for us. That was extremely nice of him and it allowed us to continue enjoying some rare family time while we had our two college age children together in the same city. The food was excellent, as were our drinks, and we will definitely return whenever we have the opportunity! Thanks for a memorable afternoon!

Ok place...nice bartenders. Drinks weren’t very good though. I ordered a few Vegas bomb shots and my friend ordered a simple pineapple juice and Patron. What they served, did not taste like Patron! I’m would not be surprised if they substitute the high end alcohol.

Loved the food and the drinks. I ordered some cheese fries with Cheddar cheese and they were EVERYTHING!! The pool tables are a great addition. I ordered a margarita and it was very well worth it. My friend recommend the turkey burger.

We Waited in line for a while when we were at the door to be next to come in, my girlfriend stepped out of line , to find our friends (while I stayed in line) when my girlfriend returned the security lady wanted us to go to back of the line ?? Weird ...wow, really bad customer service, we won't be back. !

Might have just been an off night, staff were really rude to me and my friends so we left. Went down the road, there's lots of choice in that area.

We were in Chicago for the weekend and this place was across the street from our hotel. Drinks were excellent, very welcoming atmosphere and lots of tvs for sports watching!

We stopped into Mother Hubbard's after setting up for a trade show. We wanted to catch the Sunday NFL games and get a bite to eat. Beer was on tap and we also got a couple of John Daley's. Ordered the sampler appetizer that came with melt-in-your-mouth ribs, whole wings, poppers and o-rings. We got extra wings and a chicken quesadilla. All were excellent, especially the quesadilla. Service was good. It was a little loud, but that's the nature of the venue. I would definitely recommend this stop for a cold one and a bite.
Stopped by on a whim
Yummy hotdogs! Best apple martini ever! Pool tables and plenty of televisions for sports enjoyment.... Friendly staff to boot!
