Menu full of real Italian dishes that are well prepared. Dishes are shared dining so you can try multiple dishes. Nice big place with open kitchen.

Nice place, with friendly and attentive staff. Food is unfortunately not convincing: e.g. pasta too hard - al dente doesn’t mean you have to really chew - which is a peccato mortale; the budino as dessert was a sad compact lumpy affair of something without any taste, sprinkled with a lot of ground peanuts (which tasted good, of course). Bottle of Primitivo was average. But again, a nice place to have dinner.

This restaurant is gorgeous. The design is like a French bistro with a bit of Vegas art direction. It's lively, noisy, elegant and full of beautiful Hollywood types. It's a place to see and be seen, and to eat excellent food in almost all categories, like stuffed zucchini flowers, large prawns and pizza bread that is sublime. The pasta is cooked to perfection, but the two we ordered (the one with cauliflower and the one with vongole) were drenched in salty sauces (very not Roman.) The puntarelle tasted nothing like real puntarelle, which is understandable since endive shoots are very specific to Rome. And we found the overall menu very limited, lacking in very typical Roman dishes like artichokes and fish- apart from a lackluster-looking farmed branzino that was $72. The prices are overall through the roof. But go if you can get in (they have a really nice system of only allowing reservations 7 days in advance, so it doesn't get booked a year into the future. Kudos for that!) There were some influencers sitting near us (that's what they looked like anyway) and the sommelier fawned over them all night long.

We saw their terrace from their hotel and we decided to try. Graz atmosphere with live DJ. Food: small joyce but really good quality Spicy in general but the guy serving help to take the right stuff. We had . SHRIMP & OCTOPUS AGUACHILE - Spice bug great . CRISPY PORK BELLY BAO BUN - Good . SWEET & SPICY SHRIMP . LE ROYAL BURGER To drink 2x Biers, 1x Rose Sangria and a lemonefe 168€ well spent

I’m Celiac and attended a birthday dinner at Mother Wolf after the restaurant confirmed in writing that they could fully accommodate Celiac guests within their $125 pre-fixe menu. That assurance was the only reason the group chose this restaurant. When we arrived, I was shocked to learn that the entire “accommodation” prepared for me consisted of three salads. No gluten-free entrée, no substitution for the pasta course they explicitly promised, nothing close to a real meal. Meanwhile, the rest of the party was served three appetizers, two pizzas, and three different pastas as part of the pre-fixe. I had to get up and speak to the manager myself, only to be told that “a contract was signed,” as if that somehow justified serving a Celiac diner three salads while everyone else enjoyed a full multi-course menu. Not only is that inaccurate, it’s insulting. Being Celiac does not mean being fed like a bunny. In the end, the table had to order additional dishes for me and the other Celiac guest—$36 for burrata and $36 for skewers—just so we could have an actual meal. Paying for a pre-fixe and then paying again so that two guests can eat makes no sense, especially when the three salads cost far less than what a proper pre-fixe substitution would be. It completely defeats the purpose of a pre-fixe menu and feels extremely shady. To make things worse, the restaurant has not responded to a single follow-up email about the situation, despite having their own written confirmation attached. I have eaten safely at countless restaurants as a Celiac, from casual to fine dining, and I have never experienced anything like this. The lack of preparation, the dismissive explanation, and the absence of any follow-up make it very clear that Mother Wolf is not a safe or respectful option for Celiac diners or anyone with dietary restrictions. I would strongly advise avoiding this restaurant if you have Celiac disease or need reliable accommodations.

Wow. I expected a nice, somewhat relaxed night out in Hollywood (which is still a very authentic, rough around the edges place) with good food. Well, that's not what you're going to get here. Welcome to the machine. This is so utterly inauthentic an experience I can only compare it to a Vegas mega-hotel casino restaurant just off the slot machines. There are so many employees here, all dedicated to being nice enough to make you feel welcome but simultaneously, you feel they are plotting your exit from the moment you enter. If they could only hide it better, it would be great. But they can't. Too many watchful eyes watching every bite you eat, gauging it against the time you will leave. We tried to order course by course, but the "chef" would not allow it. So we requested each course come timed so we had at least a minute (I'm talking 60 seconds) between bites. Nope. The food kept piling up on our table. We finally had to tell our nice server to make it stop. To their credit, they did. But any magic this place had was over. They want your money and they want it fast. In exchange, you get good food and smiles and lots of employees running around. It is impossible to relax in here. Or have a good time. But they are packed. It's quite something to see. This might be a better place to come with a group. As a twosome, you just feel like a cog in Evan Funke's machine. Honestly, this is the least authentic place I've ever been. I find it amusing, having seen the doc about the owner/chef and how his previous investors ended up. He didn't seem to care about money then. Well, he sure does now. It's the emperor's new clothes in a restaurant. Can't imagine a return visit... but if you don't mind being hustled (Vegas-style) in Hollywood, this is your place. Ciao and good luck!

This is a slick operation that deserves a Michelin profile. The food is perfectly prepared with personal service. The zucchini (squash) flowers were crisp and perfect. The salad balanced with mint and basil surprises and a subtle dressing. The pasta dishes also excelled

We did not have a reservation but were able to get a table as were there early 5.45pm on a Friday evening. The decor is lovely. Our server was very keen and came to our table before I was actually seated. I appreciate prompt service but always better to allow your guests to take their coats off before approaching the table. We had some lovely food and focused on the pastas. They are definitely overpriced for both food and alcohol for the area. What was really off putting was the 5% healthcare fee they added to the bill. They earn enough as a restaurant to pay for their staffs healthcare. If not, change your pricing but do not require your guests to subsidise this. A sour end to what was otherwise a pleasant if overpriced evening.

Discrimination is often implicit, but in our experience at Mother Wolf, it was clear in the end that we, a gay couple, were not welcome. From the very beginning our waitress was edgy. We didn’t think much of it unit we noticed that she kept on ignoring our table after taking our order… Never asked us how any of our four dishes were, even though she was right there attending to the tables very close to ours. We really felt singled out as she kept on being super friendly, laughing and making lengthy small talk with others and was very attentive with the tables on each side of us. Then, after waiting a long while, she slapped the check on our table and said “oh I’m sorry, did you want any desert?” She knew that it was my husband’s birthday celebration dinner. When I complained to management, he was apologetic, gave us his card. But his apologies felt formulaic. It didn’t help with the fact that this experience ruined my husband’s birthday celebration and made us feel awful. Is it acceptable for your restaurant wait staff to be homophonic?

Good Italian in Hollywood. Food was good and quite in keeping with the Italian food we had been having over the 4 week holiday in Italy prior to coming home via LA. Pasta higher prices than any of the venues in Italy acknowledging country differences but ultimately the ingredients will be pretty much the same given the goal of the restaurant. Serves were generous which helps and can take home what you can’t finish. Beautifully decorated and atmosphere is of a luxury venue. Was a little confusing as there were birthday parties for children and many families, albeit with relatively well behaved children. Few sneakers and t shirts as well. Great for people watching all the same.

I recently recommended Mother Wolf for a friend’s birthday, based on several great past experiences. The space is still stunning — beautifully designed and comfortable — and the food continues to deliver solid flavors. Unfortunately, the service fell far short of expectations. The pacing felt rushed and disjointed. At one point, a staff member placed leftover scraps onto a pizza just to clear the plate — suggesting either a shortage of dishware or poor training. What’s more confusing is that the dining room wasn’t even full, so the pressure to turn the table felt completely unnecessary. We felt really bad for our friend, as we had hoped to give her a relaxed and memorable birthday celebration. I remember when scoring a reservation at Mother Wolf was a challenge — a true hotspot. Sadly, the hospitality no longer matches the hype. It’s disappointing to see a once standout experience lose its charm.

A total LA scene if that’s what you’re into. I prefer the atmosphere of Felix more, but the food was delicious. If you’re looking for Buzz head here and you won’t be disappointed, but for myself, my choice would be Venice.

Service was alright. Sever was knowledgeable but he lacked energy. First courses were good. Squash blossoms and bread. The main course pastas were too salty (and I like salt). Dessert was the best part. We ordered 3 of them and they were all fantastic.

Amazing ambiance, service and gourmet Italian offerings. This restaurant is a treasure in the Hollywood/Los Angeles area. It’s not only a must experience, it’s a must return. The appetizer of stuffed squash blossoms lightly fried was perfection. Salad of fennel was something we had never tasted before and now we crave! We selected several pastas for sharing. The best Caccio Pepe that we’ve had outside of Rome! We were too stuffed for trying the Saltimbocca, so maybe next time. Not too full for dessert however— a delicious range of offerings. The olive oil cake is amazing ( rich, spicy, delicious), and the ricotta cheesecake is comparable to a light French tart. We highly recommend this restaurant. The staff was personable yet professional. We enjoyed everything about it, including the imported classy chandeliers! The price is comparable to other fine dining restaurants - and worth it.

For me this was more a be-seen place than a foodie place. Dont get me wrong - the food was ok. But it wasnt wow. I didnt love it and I wouldnt go back. The desserts were super though. The food was average. The atmosphere is lovely and the decor is just stunning. Its a very LA vibe. Everything is eclectic and funky. So if you want some drinks , nibbles and to hang out somewhere entertaining this is the place.

Although I'm giving them 5 stars, the narrative is worth reading. I find that writing my review in sections makes for easier reading... THE GOOD: *Beautiful setting inside - fresh, light and airy interior design while still protecting the historic integrity of the building. Makes for an inspiring dining experience overall as sound is also controlled. *Welcoming and friendly staff from the moment you enter, through your dining experience and even a friendly goodbye once you exit. Staff seem happy to be working here which always makes a difference to the customers. *Menu and wine list are robust - especially for meat eaters. *Servers are knowledgable and informative - none of the 'let me check with the chef' was mentioned here which is always helpful to the diners. *Tables are spaced well and feature super comfy chairs. THE NEEDS ATTENTION: *Although the menu is large, it's off balance with the number of dishes that include some meat derivatives. Pork or meat seems to be in a large number of dishes - including ones that don't really require the inclusion of meat (even in accordance with traditional Italian cooking). So many of the dishes I thought were meat-free, actually were not so I'm glad I asked before each item was selected. It's LA in 2022 and Evan should remember there aren't as many meat eaters as before. *The wine sommelier is super aggressive. Sorry to report this as he's doing his job however he was the first person to approach our table - even before a welcome from the server. He spent more time at the table than necessary and started things off on a wrong foot as a result. Diners should be allowed to settle, be properly welcomed by the server and then things can proceed only if the table is interested in speaking with the sommelier for recs. The length of time he spends can be shortened for sure. We ordered glasses through our server just to avoid the interaction again. *Food is good overall however I wouldn't qualify this as 'the best' Italian food in LA. Mozza and RAOs to me win in taste & quality however Mother Wolf and Evan do an outstanding job which makes a visit here well worth it. Menu specifics as follows: FIORI DI ZUCCA: very good with perfect blend/balance of tempura breading to ingredients - good for 2-3 people. BUFALA E CRUDO: very fresh and flavorful however nothing more to note of as compared to others that serve the same. PIZZA: I wasn't overly impressed with their pizza and feel that Mozza (even Gino's East Tavern Style frankly) do pizza of this type much better in texture, flavor and quality of ingredients. TONNARELLI CACIO E PEPE: unfortunately was not impressed as the predominant (and I mean predominant) flavor was black pepper. The pasta noodle itself was of great consistency and quality but the flavor was overpowered by pepper. BRANZINO: Unfortunately this is their only fish offered and @ $75, its a bit overpriced. The portion claims to be for two people however it's more like 1.5 people. Wish they added more fish varieties or reduced portions so it could be a single-served entree. *The 5% 'health fee' is obnoxious and needs to be removed as everyone is/was impacted by covid - not sure what makes them think they're special. I purposely avoid restaurants that have continued with this fee. *The location is in the heart of Hollywood which is good for some and concerning for others. Don't overlook the fact that this is not a very safe area so walk with total awareness. LAPD are not effective here so you're on your own essentially. Mother Wolf offers valet right outside and in front which is helpful.

Median food, high price, service Ugly, loud and dirty. Pay $80.00 for a cold tagliata. Bad pizza. Cold burrata, without any spice

Kind and courteous staff, always attentive to any need; we took the pizza diavola and tonnarelli cacio e pepe. Both really good. We were very satisfied.

Great foodie experience in Hollywood. The prawns were delicious and the pasta was amazing. We ordered and shared a few starters, pasta and desert. The rigatoncini alla vaccinara was fantastic but the tonnarielli cacio e pepe was our favorite pasta dish. The prawns were my favorite starter, but my daughter preferred the squash blossoms and my wife favored the bruschetta. Our waiter was Shawn and he made it a special experience.

If I was Evan Funke I would get my name off this restaurant as fast as I could. From the moment you walk in the vibe is to rush you to order and rush you right out so they can turn the table. Our waiter Sean sent so many courses so fast we couldn't even find space for our plates. I get it was a busy Saturday night but we were spending almost $1000 dollars for four and we deserved a chance to catch up before we were rushed to place the order and then deluged with immediate plate after plate. And of course Sean told us we couldn't order some appetizers with our drinks. Policy is you have to order all at once so they can throw those dishes at you and then convince you to leave. And they send the dishes so fast their servers which are overworked can't even keep up. I had to ask three times for the plate containing the shrimp shells/heads to be removed to find room for the next dish. None of which was Sean's fault.. Just the corporate policy. And our party was incredibly upset when the woman/manager came over and actually told us it was time to leave as they needed the table. ( I would understand if they told us there was a time limit when seated but this was not the case). So we rushed to order our Ubers and get out so they could rush the next group.

Reservations are available on Resy 7 days in advance at 12 midnight. We went twice once in July and then August to celebrate birthdays with other couples. Wonderful cocktails! Everyone loved the squash blossoms, blue prawn appetizer, also a peach and buratta salad. The peach icecream and the light almond cake were devine. The lamb chops were juicy and well seasoned over long Italian roasted peppers. We tried several pastas- all good but prefer the pasta options at Felix. Great setting except for the loud music- and very responsive service.

Celebrity sightings as I expected for a high-end trendy Los Angeles restaurant. I ate every bite of my pasta, forgot to take a picture of it. The Burrata salad was both beautiful and delicious. We shared an amazing pizza. My friends ate whole fish and octopus; said they were amazing.

This spot is known for their homemade Italian dishes. To be 100% it was not the experience I was looking forward to. The food was mediocre and definitely not the price. I had high expectations and was disappointed.

I booked a birthday dinner at Mother Wolf for nine people and confirmed, in writing, that two of my guests are Celiac. Their manager clearly stated that the chef would accommodate them within the pre-fixe menu, which is the only reason we agreed to the $125 per person menu. That promise was not honored. When we arrived, the “accommodation” prepared for the two Celiac guests was simply three salads. That was the entire plan. No entrée, no pasta substitution, nothing resembling a proper meal. My guests had to advocate for themselves during dinner just to receive something edible, which was extremely uncomfortable for everyone. In the end, we had to order extra dishes on top of the pre-fixe price so they could have an actual meal. Paying $125 per person and still needing to pay extra for Celiac guests to eat is unacceptable. Management’s response at the table was essentially, “you signed the contract,” even though the contract clearly states that accommodations would be provided. They did not deliver what they put in writing. To make things worse, there was also a 5 percent admin fee added to the bill. For what exactly, I still have no idea. Nothing about this meal felt organized, managed, or handled with care. After the dinner, I followed up with three separate emails, including screenshots of their own written confirmations. No one at Mother Wolf has responded at all. Not even a short acknowledgment. For a restaurant that positions itself as high-end, this level of disregard is shocking. Between the broken promises, the added costs, the uncomfortable situation it created for my guests, and the complete silence afterward, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in Los Angeles. Anyone with dietary needs, or anyone expecting hospitality that matches the price point, should think twice before booking here.

1. 3 stars SPAGHETTI ALL’ARRABBIATA: 3 stars for overcooking spaghetti, however, the sauce tasted amazing and save the dish from being returned back to the kitchen. 2. 1 star MARGHERITA pizza: the pizza was really burnt to the crust and tasted bitter. Again, the pizza sauce tasted really good. 3. 5 stars POLPETTE DI CODA & FIORI DI ZUCCA: both tased very good. 4. 3 stars MARITOZZO ROMANO and 2 stars TIRAMISU: they are just okay, if you had already tried maritozzo Romano from Italy then skip it. And other places just have better tastier tiramisu. 5. $7 for a tiny glass of ice tea and no refill; $11 per bottle of water. Overall, very overpriced restaurant with good service, charges 5% on your bill for their employees’ healthcare insurance support, and food are either a hit or miss and not matching the price or name being a well known Italian restaurant.

Great ambiance and interesting menu with surprisingly good food. Pizza and pastas were wonderful and service friendly and attentive.

Service and food were wonderful!! Celebrating our anniversary began with a welcome glass of Prosecco and was topped with a candle in our tiramisu. A special thank you to Gregory for his high level of attentiveness.

Mother Wolf, the mother of the mythical founders of Ancient Rome. An ambitious name. I was born in Rome, so was my mom and my kid, I would know. That said, nothing can be further from Rome at MW. The employees I met (hate to call them waiters) were not Italian, the chef is not Italian (I know he's famous, I could not care less, I am there for the food), the place doesn't feel Italian. It's luxurious, for sure, but then luxury is not in the decor, luxury is in letting you enjoy yourself (they turned up the lights - as in "it's time to leave" - at 10:15pm, which is when we go for dinner in Rome :), luxury is giving you time between courses (no such thing, they try to get you to leave), luxury is being attentive to your customers from afar, not in your face. The food is good, as good as in most trattorie in Rome mind you (where you are charged about 10% of what they charge here), not extraordinary but very very eatable. For an Italian, there are unforgivable sins: no bread at the table (how am I supposed to scoop the extra sauce - la scarpetta - without bread?); portions that are in Italy for one person, are presented as "family style to share" (there is nothing about this place that evokes "family style" by the way, in a good way I mean); my vegetarian wife wanted anchovies removed from a pizza, an impossible task forbidden by the (obviously non Italian) chef. All this to say: this is a Vegas experience, you are in Rome just as you are in Venice at the Venetian Hotel. For $100+ a person, you get an appetizer and pasta, which for an Italian is offensive, but for a Vegas visitor (or a celebrity) is fine. If you want an experience, do go, no doubt. If you want a Roman experience, do not. You are in Casa Funke, not in Mother Wolf's lair.

We got invited to a b-day dinner event. I didn't know that I actually watched the show on TV about that chef. I have to say, the entire experience was great. We had a fixed menu but it was so good. All of it from the appetizers, the pizza, the pasta, the fish and meat, all the way to the desert. The service was just great. They were funny, took care of it, very professional and right to the point. One of the best experiences ever. It comes with a price but just great all over.

Kind of a bucket list visit for us, when I found out about this restaurant last month and was going to be staying around the corner from it. Since my daughter loves Roman food, thought this would be perfect. We only had one night that was possible for us to visit and knew that I didn't want to be eating at 10pm at night, so I stayed up the week prior past midnight to try to snag a reservation. Unfortunately by 1am nothing was opening up so I headed to bed. Next morning I tried again and nothing was open and then about 9am of exactly a week and I tried and there were openings for almost any time. We opted for a 7pm, to give my daughter time to finish work. The restaurant is located in the Citizen building on Wilcox and since I was staying around the corner, I would walk there. We did not wait at all, once arriving, we were shown to our space, which was 2 seats at the counter in front of the pizza over. It was fun to watch them making Pizza. We had our back to the Majority of the restaurant so really didn't the opportunity to gaze around and see everyone there. The restaurant is quiet large and does get noisy. The Chef is calling out orders over a Microphone to the kitchen staff. Midway through our meal, Chef Evan Funke, moved over to the pizza making area and we got to see him in action. from what I can tell he expects perfection. I wish we would have ordered a pizza, but alas my daughter was only interested in the pasta dishes. Our waitress was very attentive until after we got the bill and then it was hard to flag her down to get our leftovers. (yes we left with a box of pasta) We went with her recommendations. Squash blossoms are brilliant. We ordered 2 starters, 2 pasta and Saltimbocca. We probably could have skipped the Saltimbocca as we were full by the time it came. for Desert, we were sadden to see they no longer had Olive Oil cake, so we opted for the Tiramisu - probably not my best choice. When we left 2 hours later there was a crowd at the door, maybe those waiting for a walk in space. Overall a good meal and an experience

This was our first visit to Mother Wolf. Fantastic would be a complete understatement! Owen was a wonderful & attentive waiter with a sincere and welcoming smile. He was excellent & knowledgeable with the food and wine; patient and communicative with coursing, and the service was top notch! Our food was absolutely AMAZING!! We all ordered different dishes as to try many selections. The unusual & bold flavors complimented each other wonderfully. Dessert was phenomenal!!! All are highly recommended! The tiramisu was so good, it melted in our mouth! Cheers, we'll be back!!
Delicious food & great atmosphere
Delicious food ! Ate with our family (three kids) this weekend. Food was incredible. Dessert was the only thing that was a bit average. Thought the wine was pricey. Otherwise a fantastic meal. Would definitely go back.
