We knew that we wanted to try out this relatively new restaurant after reading a review in the Oregonian newspaper several months back. So this is our first trip back to Portland since reading the review. We read the Yelp comments, saw one that described the pizzas as “personal size.” Okay. My wife and I decided we would order a salad to split, and a couple of those “personal size” pizzas. The restaurant has a very easy to use online ordering system which allows you to choose a time to pick up your order. I walked over the frew blocks from our hotel to pick up the food. It was just about ready. I had to wait perhaps 4 minutes before it came out and I was on my way. I should also say that while the restaurant’s seating area was small, it was nicely set up, well lit, and staff were welcoming. We had a bottle of wine in our room at the hotel, otherwise we would have been happy to eat in the restaurant. Two quick points. First, both pizzas were excellent! We would agree with the other comments about the crust being outstanding! Second, these weren’t “personal size,” which I would think might be about 8”. These were both about 12” pizzas, wonderfully thin crusts, nicely cooked and on that edge between crisp and chewy. We stuffed ourselves, and had almost all of the second pizza for lunch the next day. And the caesar salad was also excellent. Not so large that you would comment on its size, but full of goodies, anchovy and bacon bits, and we were satisfied when finished. So we were more than “okay” with Mucca—food was excellent and highly recommended. We are here in Portland for a week, and I think we’ll be back once more before we leave.

We had a perfect pizza at Mucca, as good as the Margherita pizza we had recently eaten in Napoli! The ricotta bruschetta was delicious! We will be back!

When you are abroad and want pizza, there are many unknowns. No risk if you choose Mucca Pizzeria in Portland, which offers pizza truly up to par with the best Italian ones. Numerous other dishes on the menu. Quite intimate environment and very courteous staff complete an excellent experience.

At last a great pizza downtown on the west side of the river. High quality ingredients on a truely Neopolitan style crust, thin, flexible and beautifully blistered. (Maybe just a tad too soft.) Started with one of the very best Cesar salads ever. Comfortable atmosphere and service far beyond a typical pizzeria rather more in line with it's well known high end Italian sister restaurant next door - Mucca Osteria. Quality, service and atmosphere but at the usual pizzera prices. Finally I don't have to get in the car for a really great pie but can just walk over from our condo.

Really glad to have seen this restaurant from the window of our Uber on a Saturday afternoon. Looked very inviting from the outside. Went back at 6:00 for dinner. No reservations … first come, first served. Small but very nice atmosphere. Friendly, laid back but also professional service. We had a fresh, well made green salad, a spicy salami Neapolitan style pizza and a cacio e pepi supli (arancini). Too full for dessert however the dessert menu was very enticing. Would absolutely go back again next time visiting Portland. Highly recommend.
Authentic Italian pizza
Cozy atmosphere and most attentive service I have received in a long time! The intimate setting adds to the charm, it didn't feel small even during the peak. Take time with the menu and don't forget to ask about the specials. They had a pasta and pizza special. I appreciated the high-quality ingredients. On top of it, they have their own wine label, which was impressive. I need to go back for the gelato. The parking near the location can be challenging but worth it! It's a great spot for those seeking classic Italian comfort food in the downtown area.
