Being from the North of England we're blessed with hundreds of very quality Indian restaurants and usually don't eat such food when away from home as most dishes disappoint. Thankfully we broke our rule this time and had a superb meal. The food was excellent, simple as that, and I can't recommend it enough.

I was on a business visit to Dallas. Our host recommended this place. Bar service was slow. It could be that they really do not have an official bartender who can mix drinks or the owner does not allow other employees to serve drinks. Took a while to get black label and soda. APpetizers were hot and fresh. Shish kabob was really good. Dinner entrees were tasty and ample for the order. Lamb chops were very good and goan shrimp curry tasted authentic. I was not too crazy about desert. Pista kulfi was below average and did not taste fresh. Overall worth a visit.

We drove from arkansas to dallas, tx with the family. Had called the restaurant 1 hour ahead to make reservations. We were seated to our table upon arrival, they were sort of busy, our waiter did not come to our table for 20 minutes to acknowledge us that he will be with us as soon as possible, no problem there. When he came to greet us finally, he said to give him 3 minutes max and he will be back to get our appetizer order, and drink order and roughly after 15 minutes later he came got our appetizer order, and drink order. At this point me and my family are still very patient about the slow service that we were receiving, what really got us is that people who came after us had their appetizers out, drinks were served, main course was served and they were done with the dinner paid their bill and were out of the restaurant in an hour, its not as if we took our sweet time to take a look at the menu, or took our sweet time to order our drinks, food or told the waiter we are not ready, we were ready to order as soon as we sat down. We brought the matter to the owner about the poor service(not to get discount or free meals) but the owner did not seem to care about the poor service that we received. They did not even give us the menu so we can look at it while we were waiting for our waiter, after 30 minutes or so, i got up and asked the door greeter to give us the menu. Taste seemed like it was exceptional but was not able to enjoy it as little kids were tired and cranky for being there too long with lot of delayed service and having to calm them down in between, we were just put off with everything. We came into the restaurant at 7:12PM, left the restaurant at 9:45PM. reason why i know these time is because i had made phone call when i sat down, and i had received a phone call when i exited the door. I would not recommend this establishment for service, as far as taste i do no as we were unable to properly enjoy it, we had lots of left over. Its an expensive indian restaurant, which is not an issue, normally rice is included in your entree but not here its $5.00 extra for it, which was completely ok with us.

Kid friendly and delicious food. Ambience was good as well. Lately we have been disappointed by Dallas Indian restaurant with high rating and flavourless food but this restaurant was refreshing with north Indian flavors.

I have tried the food for a lunch , it was late lunch ... the restaurant was full of customers .. the food was great .. I ordered samosa and biryani lamb.... The was was big size and great taste..

We were a bit unsure about this but the reviews seemed good, so we tried it. It was very good, we told them that we were in a hurry and they said no problem and served us very quickly. The chicken tikka masala was very tender and the sauce great. We also had a bindhi curry, which was also very tasty. The naan was also very good.

Went for lunch with a large group of business people. Everyone was pleased with the food choices. Not too spicy ( probably tone it down for the lunch crowd....) and very tasty. The choices were limited but the quality made up for the lack of variety. The Murgh Tikka Makhani looked great but as a non chicken eater I was unable to try it - the people who did went back for seconds so I can only assume it was good. The one desert choice Gajar Ka Halwa didn't appeal to me but again those that ate it really liked it. The vegetarian choices available were very good to excellent. The iced tea was great (and brewed !) I will be returning for another meal and this time buy off the menu rather than doing the buffet. If you are looking for a really good Indian lunch buffet, this was the best one in Dallas I have been to so far.

Service was slow, took us 2 hours to get our food and no apologies from waiter or owner on slow service.

I am not an expert in Indian food but I do like curry dishes and our client recommended this place. Nice place inside and out for our party of 7 (business dinner). Relatively quiet inside and a huge selection on the menu. We ordered a few apps to share and all had the cucumber salad. For entree I ordered the combo of chicken, salmon, shrimp and lamb. Mine was great - ordered it hot (not Indian hot) and it had a great kick. The table ordered a few other dishes and everything did taste great. My only regret or opportunity for my next visit...Order a number of different dishes and have everyone eat family style - the servers should suggest this up front! Give this place a try and you won't be disappointed. Great place for a business meeting or your next date night.

I had Lamb Korma, rice and plain nann (waiter was actively trying to up sell to more exotic nanns) . Nann was a bit under cooked, Rice was EXCELLENT, I COULD NOT STOP EATING IT!, Lamb Korma was a good size but was nothing like Ive had in India or London (Most would say best Indian food) . The lamb was soft and tender BUT VERY VERY salty . ( and the over priced@ $26 for 1 person) .which brought this review down from Good to average. The atmosphere is average as well but waiter pleasant.

Amazing Indian food that is consistently excellent. It is one of my favorite places to eat in Dallas. The dal makhani is crave worthy.

WOW! Delicious, authentic, Indian food. I had a lentil curry and my hubs had butter chicken. SO NICE!! I will even say, probably the best indian I have ever had and I have been to India!! We will be back!

Lunch buffet, unfortunately, is what they had. The malai chicken was of good quality and the rest of the buffet inedible pseudo Indian food. Service was dodgy. Hundreds of years it took refining Indian cuisine and these buffoons at Mughlai and most of the Indian restaurants in DFW are destroying this legacy. I went elsewhere to have lunch afterwards, since Mughlai was absolute rubbish.

I was so pleasantly surprised! After reading reviews, I almost considered not going to Mughlai but honestly I don't understand the low rating. I found the whole experience to be excellent: service was attentive without being intrusive; food came quickly and was delicious; good cocktail; large servings (my date and I both brought home enough for another meal) and very reasonable prices. My new favorite Indian restaurant in Dallas!

Been here with family as well as couple. Love their malai kofta and mango lassi. The owner is very nice and supportive. Also he guides you through the menu in accordance to your taste. Would definitely like to go here whenever in mood of Punjabi food.

We went here for the Buffett. The food was tasty, but none of it was labeled. I don't eat fish, but had to guess a couple of times. Luckily, I didn't have to waste a big plate of food. Other than that, what I ate was good. However, unless they start labeling the food, I might pick another Indian restaurant.

Beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff, great and prompt service! I love lamb vindaloo and this place did not disappoint. It was absolutely delicious and comes in mild medium or spicy. Naan was fluffy and tasty. Wait staff is prompt and courteous, and packaged our left overs for us. Conveniently located near the galleria, definitely a must see if in Dallas

This restaurant is right next to the Galleria in Dallas - the food is absolutely delicious - portions are large, very tasty and a huge selection of vegetarian options!! Their Parathedhar paneer dish is top class!! Naan is one of the best i've had .. soft and yummy!! All in all, great place for a meal!! Almost forgot, they have a super buffet as well .. totally worth every cent spent!!

Mughlai Fine Indian Cuisine was an interesting contrast. Some of the food was great, others showed the willingness to cut corners. The vegetable samosas were great. Spicy and very tasty. The The tandori murgh chaat is a wonderful cold appetizer. The lamb curry was also very good. The chicken curry suffered from the use of cheap cuts of chicken, one way some Indian restaurants cut costs rather than using the more costly chicken breasts. The Kadhai Murgh had a great sauce and would have been outstanding but for that. The service was bumbling. The server broke the wine cork. Poured the wine without a sampling and got cork into the glass. The server when picking up the first course dishes dropped food into one of the drink glasses. Overlook the service and stay away from the chicken and you will have an excellent dining experience.

The ambiance and decor of this restaurant are wonderful. The staff is very friendly and willing to go out of their way. The curries have the perfect amount of spice and flavor for every bite. We didn't have any food left over! Plenty of parking outside and decent amount of tables inside. The owners are really nice and offered us sweets to-go as we were leaving. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you like Indian cuisine!

We were staying downtown and attending a convention. The food at the hotel was fair and we had a yen for Indian food. We searched and discovered Mughlai and gave it a try. It was a 20 minute drive from the hotel with little traffic. The restaurant opened for dinner at 5:30 and we arrived a few minutes early. Seating was fast and the service was more than attentive. The restaurant was clean and well lit. The menu was extensive with some choices new to us although we have eaten quite a lot of Ineian food over the years. The MASALA CHAI was superb. We had a bread basket with an assortment of breads that were delicious. I had a shrimp dish and my wife had a tandoori chicken dish. We shared a vegetable dish. We had no further room for dessert but we were given a tasty treat to take with us. The owner chatted with us for a few minutes and we wished him well. We both thought the entire dining expereince was excellent. Mind you, it isn't cheap but the price of ingredients, labor, and restaurant mantence keeps going up and there isn't much we can do about it. This is an excellent restaurant and we will dine here again when in Dallas. Highest recommendations.

The food was great. Not really spicy even at 3. But amazingly tasty. The service was - well appalling and weird, and I have to say - misogynistic. I went out with my husband. He was brought his starter and beer immediately. My cocktail was VERY late and they forgot to order my starter (: .And it was early evening and they weren’t that busy. They offered a dessert as compensation. We’re not into desserts so that was that! We were hassled to finish. My husband had finished and they started to remove our plates even though I wasn’t finished. It was less than an hour from when we were served! They presented the bill to my husband. I paid and gave an undeserved 20% tip. Bizarre experience. Young staff who needed adult supervision. Not like the last time we visited a few years ago. Maybe we’ll do TOGO next time so we don’t have to deal too much with the wait staff!

We arrived at the restaurant at 6:45 pm with our party of 16 (including 7 children), and were seated by the hostess. Our waiter arrived about 10 minutes later (a young Indian college student), and told us he would be back in "1 minute,” with a maximum of 3 minutes. So after about 5 minutes, he comes back for our drink & appetizer orders, but we didn’t have any menus. They didn’t have any menus, so we had to wait 15 minutes to get our menus, which was around 7:30, when we got them. We told him we would have four separate checks, which he didn’t like for some reason. So after we got our drinks and apps, we placed our order, which was around 7:45 pm. While we were waiting for our food, a few members of party were enjoying their drinks, which any normal paying customer does, while waiting for their food. While waiting, our kids were getting tired, and so we took a couple of them outside to run around, that way they wouldn’t disturb other patrons. So after waiting and enjoying a few drinks, we finally got our food at 9 pm. I forgot to mention we are vegetarian, and my wife had ordered “veggie biryani,” which of course had to have to some chicken in it. As soon as my wife found out, she alerted the waiter, who was unapologetic and doubted her. He stormed off with the food, and never came back with it. While the food was a 3/5, the service was awful. After finishing our food, the waiter comes back and asks how everything is, and we told him about our problems, and all he said was “I just work here.” On top of that, my wife was talking to him in “English,” and he tells her to stop talking in English and talk in Gujarati, his native language. We asked for the owner/manager, and he was working the bar, so we talked to him about the problems, and he was also unapologetic and blamed our kids for all the “problems” we had. He said, we kept taking our kids outside and ordering more drinks, that is why our food was delayed. They even had the courage to add an 18% gratuity to everyone’s checks. We had four separate checks, with four separate families paying, so I don’t understand how they can automatically add gratuitity to our checks. There is more to the story, but I don’t want to bore anyone. Bottom line, don’t take your kids with you, and don’t order drinks while waiting for the food.

As an expat Brit, I had mediocre expectations of a good old ruby. However, pick what you want off the menu, tell them the spice level and let them deliver the magic. Gorgeous food - you will enjoy.

My wife and I had a lunch buffet here. We do not normally eat Indian Food but this was recommended as the best in Dallas. Shivendra, one of the very attentive wait staff, took us through the buffet line and explained every dish to us, and his favorites. Everything was delicious, vegetarian and meat dishes. Our waitress Atissa was great! We will definitely be back. This is one of the best restaurants in Dallas.

As itinerant Brits we are always on the lookout for a good spot to eat Indian cuisine and this one near the Galleria in North Dallas is located in a strip mall with parking outside. A good menu of traditional dishes with friendly staff and good service.

Awesome place, good tasty food felt authentic, moderate prices, cordial host and staff. Would recommend to anyone visiting Dallas.

Went for Buffet today and was very disappointed. Very expensive and very ordinary food. There was just chicken - no fish, no meat. And that was not tasty at all. vegetables were also VERY ordinary. The food quality wasn't great either. Plus they had such few dishes! I was comparing with Vindu that is just up the tollway and they have such a variety of dishes including meat and lots of different appetizers! Pretty much the only good thing I liked was the jalebi but even that was cold. Not going there or recommending others.

Loved it! The best Goat Nizami we ever had, worth a visit ! Good service ! The experience was very good !!

The food here is delicious! Atmosphere is nice and the lady in charge was very friendly. We went for the lunch buffet which was great because it gave us a good sampling of Indian cuisine (which we were not familiar with.) What I particularly liked was the ample variety of marked vegetarian dishes on the buffet. My favorite was the Navratan Korma. We have found a another hometown favorite restaurant! Will definitely be back!

I was thr for lunch. Buffet had a good veg and nonveg variety. Desserts were good as well. Excelltnt option for ppl looking for indian food with authentic indian taste.

Mughlai Fine Indian cuisine was recommended by a friend of ours, so we went there during thanksgiving holiday. I was pleasantly surprised by the preparation of every item. Full 5 stars to the chef. Hope they can retain the chef and their kitchen staff. As in many restaurants i have experienced a decline in food taste over time as it changes management or the Chef. The menu has items of North Indian ( or Mughlai) origin, which is very different from south Indian food preparation. So if you are like me and like authentic taste of North Indian food, this is the place to go. Most of the other Indian restaurants in the DFW metroplex have a mix of North and South Indian items in the menu and often don't do justice to either. My favorite ( and everyone else who tired it) item on the menu is 'Murgh angarey' ( roughly translated - Chicken on flames). It is a spicy chicken preparation which is not too dry and not a curry either. Goes great with any of the items in the Bread Basket ( another thing worth trying out), and a glass of wine. It's a rather large restaurant with seating for over 100 people. Staff is very friendly, but if you are going on holidays or other special occasion make a reservation, even if they say it's not needed. We had a bad experience as they could not accommodate us on New Years eve. I called for reservation the day before (30th) and was told it is not necessary. But the management did not communicate to the staff (or whatever the case was) and next day they accepted reservations but others who called earlier and showed were told to turn back.. No apologies either from the management. I even ordered over $100 food carry out the same evening, but nothing was offered complimentary for the SNAFU. That's why I gave 4 stars. They need to be better at customer relations, and not assume customers will keep coming back for the food after being ignored or inconvenienced.

Every city I visit I always search out Indian restaraunts, this one was excellent, we ordered the murgh saagwala and the murgh tikka makhani together with the bread basket (fully recommend this, four different breads for $10),together with rice and 2 chai, the goal bill for two people was $50 and unfortunately to much food to finish off.

Rather than offering an average bit-of-everything lunch buffet, they offer a higher quality and two to four options in each the meat and vegetarian sections, good breads (but nothing special), and small salads. Solid quality I could eat almost every day. Atmosphere is great for talking with either small groups for couples, or just some quiet time alone.

This place is one of our top contenders for where to dine in the Big D. Serving up powerful dishes Mughlai is not to be missed. Their spread not the lunch buffet is fit for a Sultan and worth early cent. We recommend getting there early because it can get quite crowded. Their take on Northern Indian Cuisine is spot on and contends with the best out there.

Great ambience and Good place for"Fine dining". We were given the table of our choice The starters were perfect Drinks served with style Even the owner came to say hello to all of us and made us feel at home Personally offered Paan and discussed if we had any suggestions.

Not impressed at all. Yes, the place is nice but the variety and options are limited. Nothing besides chicken and a couple of veggie dishes. No free mango lassi and no fresh fruit was available which is shocking as dessert. They only have some terrible super sweet carrot dish, I could only ate one small spoon and threw out the rest. Totally overpriced for what you get. GO somewhere else. And yes, I've been to plenty other Indian buffet restaurants and by far, this is one of the most disappointing.

Googled Indian food in Dallas for lunch one night, and came across great reviews for this restaurant. We have terrible indian food in Oklahoma, and not authentic flavored, nor do we have the flavors. BUT, Muglhai Dallas exceeded my expectations, and they had wonderful fresh food on the buffet, and a great team. Clean, and friendly staff, well trained, and well executed operation. I cant wait to go back and experience the night a la carte options and ambiance. During the lunch time, the buffet was always stocked and fresh. Chicken tandoori was well marinated and not over killed with red coloring. It was awesome! I don't need 41 items on the buffet. They had 2 chicken options and vegetarian options too that went well with everything else. Modern Indian Dining at it's best! Try it, you wont be disappointed, and the complimentary jelebi at the exit is a treat!!

I had the lunch buffet. Except for the malai chicken everything else was crap. None of the curries tasted authentic and seemed like they were cooked a few days in advance. We continue to pamper quack Indian restaurants in Dallas. Zagat rating of 4.5 is an absolute joke.

They definitely have one of the best Indian foods I have tasted! I love spicy food and they most certainly indulge me anytime I request for extra spicy! Everything we ordered tasted great, including the chai tea! Though it only came in a little cup!! I thought they could do better. But I forgive them seeing as everything else we ordered was superb. The service was average though nothing fantastic. Also if you are into bubble tea there is one just opposite, probably one of the reasons why I keep coming back too!

We visited the place on Valentine's day for the first time. Lunch buffet was great with tava vegetables being my favorite. However, vegetarian variety was limited (compared to typical Indian buffet) and hence my family didn't enjoy it as much.

Delightful scents and authentic food will great you here! All our dishes were served hot and perfectly seasoned!

I am from India therefore very picky when it comes to Indian restaurant. I have eaten in many Indian restaurants in USA. However, there was always something missing. This place is like eating in India with all the comforts. Food is excellent. Recommendations: Ask for Roti (bread) instead of Naan(also famous indian bread) and cant go wrong with chicken tikka masala. Also try tandoori meat dishes.

The food was great. The spices were so fragrant, you could smell the deliciousness from 2 blocks away. I went for dinner with 2 friends, we ate family style: chicken tikka, lamb vindaloo, and Chana masala (a spicy chickpea dish). The sauces were spicy and rich and the servings were generous. Our server was polite and attentive. The proprietor stopped by to visit with us at the end of our meal to ensure we were satisfied. We were all very happy with Mughlai and we will be back soon!

Food was good, but very less variety of foods. They should keep more varieties in non veg main dish. They should include Fish and mutton dishes. There was 3 different chicken dishes. But no chicken or mutton briyani :(

Best Indian Food in Texas. Excellent DINNER experience. I will start this review by saying I've never been impressed by Indian food in Texas. I've had lots in London and it's never even been close. The quality of meat is usually poor (think the cheapest pack of boneless/skinless processed chicken breast from Costco). If you know what I mean, you know the taste of 'rubbery' chicken. Also, the dishes have a pool of grease sitting on top, to mask the quality of ingredients. We ordered the Chicken Kebab appetizer, Rogan Josh, Vindaloo, Chickpeas, Naan, Rice, Raita, and Pistachio ice cream. Right away, I could tell this place used good quality ingredients (better than India Palace). Obviously, Indian food is heavy, but this place doesn't kill you with butter and grease. It doesn't feel AS BAD. For example, they ask you if you want butter or no butter on the naan (it's still soft without butter). The service is outstanding. No pretentiousness here like you can get at other, high priced restaurants. The owner really cares and offered us a tour of the kitchen to show us that each dish is made separately and they are not using the same sauce as a base for multiple dishes. I declined but I will take the tour next time for sure. The cost is higher than other Indian restaurants but what do you expect if you are getting better food and service? If you worked hard all week and want some good, ethnic food, it's not the end of the world to pay more for a BETTER meal. Like most things, you get what you pay for here. If you like wine, I will add that the owner doesn't up-charge his wine by a lot so we enjoyed a nice bottle of Catena Malbec. I hope he doesn't increase his price point because this was a BIG WIN! Most of the patrons were Indian....many Indians (like me) can be frugal. If they are willing to pay for the food at this restaurant, you know it's worth it. In summary, just go try it. Pay the money. It's worth it.

Probably the best and our favourite indian restaurant in Dallas. One of the few ones which actually serve authentic North indian food esp thier kebabs and curry dishes. Their best seller is truly the best dish " Murgh malai kebeb'. We even like the appetizers in the buffet, although the buffet is priced higher than most indian places. Its a great ambience for an indian restaurant and a very good place to bring your friends for an evening. Must try the indian beer they carry called 'king fisher'. In vegetarian dishes, our favourites are Dal makhani (just like the one you get in India) and Malai Kofta. They even make Baingan bharta and indian chinese sometimes. The best part of the place however is the hospitality and warmth of the owner who personally serves, jokes with you and asks your honest feedback. Way to go !! Highly recommend it.

We visited June 6th with family and friends . Waited long for seating .then food , don't looks like original Indian food . Quality was poor . I will not coming back and don't recommend this place to any one who really want to eat Indian food in Dallas .

Great food every time we go. Close to Galleria Friendly service. Do not order medium hot unless you mean "hot"

We had gone there for buffet lunch and the food was good for both vegetarians and non veg. There were very few items as compared to many other places but the taste was very nice. There was just one dry vegetable which was unfortunately containing over ripe okhras. There was hardly any starters. For vegetarians the choice was very limited. There was no ice-cream for desert. The seating layout could have been better laid out and one has to jostle between the chairs to reach the buffet table. With the kind of such nice and tasty food that they make, a better organization and management could take this place to far greater heights.

I asked my friend to introduce me to fine Indian food and he had a great pick Don’t go for the buffet We order sizzler and several dishes all were great Service is excellent as well

Ordered a lamb curry and was given goat meat. The explanation was that the marinade "changed the texture of the meat" - Insulting my intelligence and making me pay full price for Lamb when they served Goat simply insured that they will never see me again. I'll mention it on my radio show KLIF570 too! I've lived in Botswana, I know the difference and distinct taste of goat meat. I simply paid the bill and walked out. Be aware of what you are served there.

No rice is included in expensive dishes. Taste is average that you’d expect at this price point but not exceptional. Service was below avg. waitress didn’t seem interested or distracted. Tea was just avg and menu tried price gouge any add on It was not satisfying for the price charged.

I've tried many many different indian restaurants. This one in particular, did not leave any special memories. It gave me a feeling that the food had been sitting there in the buffet bar for quite some time already.... but I may have had bad luck that day.

As you walk in this establishment, you can feel the difference. This is not a typical Indian restaurant found in corners of US cities. The restaurant has refreshing decor, open specious structure, artfully decorated. No overpowering cheap Indian art. Strategically place peacock iconography to represent the Royal Mughalai feel. The staff is trained to show 'Adaab' Indian hospitality. Though the menu only has popular dishes, but the food once served was phenomenal. We could feel the taste of fresh ingredients and authentic spices. Delicately prepared. The Nan from Tandur was baked to perfection After dinner I talked to management. The owner is third generation restauranteur with passion for the craft. The restaurant has a responsible alcohol serving policy that they follow without exception as they feel that's their social responsibility. You will not be served more than two drinks in a hour. So if you need to place to drink find bar with greessy food. I you need to experience a great Indian food visit this establishment.

A group of 10 friends decided that Mughlai was the place for our 'next' exploration, and we were all thrilled by the choice! We were seated as we arrived and served drinks and tea almost instantly. The appetizers are very generous - we ordered four, which we shared to the table, and all got a good taste of each specialty. There is an extensive menu that clearly explains all the different dishes, and they have a gluten free menu that is out of this world! The Vegetable Samosas were light crisp puffs of pastry filled with a mildly spiced vegetable paste. Paneer Methi Tikki were little balls of deliciousness. The flavors on the Machli Kali Mirch were perfect for all of us too. Salads were served on crisp beds of green and then we had our entrée plates. Salmon Tikka Nawabi - delicately seasoned fish, grilled to perfection! Various Lamb dishes with delicately seasoned sauses, Vegetarian / Vegan plates, and huge piles of some of the most delicious breads! Heck, I could just copy the menu and highly recommend every item! The portions were also huge, and most of us went home with extras for lunch the next day... cheerfully and efficiently boxed up to go. They handled our group well, and two other large groups at the same time, there were intimate tables for two to four - all in a simply good dining atmosphere. The restaurant is fully handicap accessible, with comfortable clearance on all sides. The only drawback is not the fault of the restaurant but the management of the mall. The access ramps from the parking lot to the sidewalks, while huge and useful, are NOT clearly marked as reserved or set so they cannot be blocked by inconsiderate patrons. We had to around the back of the building to find a ramp that was not blocked. It was a cold, wet night - so that was a definite negative.

Absolutely meh, if not worse. It was definitely one of the worst Indian meals I've ever had. We came here on a busy Saturday night with a large group and we were seated in their private room, though there were a few other tables in there. It's a nice-looking, large restaurant, though with an odd choice of Italianesque wall hangings in that private room. Service was nice and prompt with frequent water glass fillings - always welcome! I like the sauces served with the papadams, though both were standard fare everywhere I've been. I started with a mango lassi - absolutely lovely, and a good sized portion. I then ordered the Dahi Baray, which should've been a "savory lentil donut served in a seasoned yogurt". They forgot to read their description and instead I got a bland ball of crumbly...I don't what it was (not a donut! couldn't taste lentil!) in bland yogurt. It was fairly awful, really, and we barely touched it. Hubby ordered the Murgh Badam Adark, an uninspired dull chicken soup. Also sounded a LOT better in description! I ordered the lamb Roghan Josh. I normally love this dish...not so here. The sauce could've been a Heinz brown gravy for all I could tell. I also ordered medium spicy, but here that order got changed to "weak sauce". The lamb was fine, though there could've been more. Hubby ordered the chicken Vindaloo - again, could've been the same Heinz brown gravy, and again with no spice whatsoever. Definitely not any vindaloo I've ever tried. Trader Joe's makes better Indian than we got here! I forged on and ordered Rasmalai for dessert. This, though, was pretty damn good and I slurped it all up! I honestly don't know if we were served the wrong things or what. The server seemed to stumble over our orders, so that could've been the case. All I know is that it was fairly dreadful food, though with a couple decent things. There are so many other better restaurants (or Trader Joe's frozen meals!), so I'll stick with those.

I happen to go with friends to this food joint for lunch buffet seeing the ranking . I must say it's bit highly rated. I liked few of the cuisines like the hariyali kebab, Biriyani and the halwa. Tandoori n other items weren't good as rated. They have a bar that serve drinks . We ordered some cocktails, really it was bad. On the whole I felt it average and very pricey.

This is the best Indian Cuisine around. Everything is so fresh & Seasoned just right. The samosas are delicious and freshly made. we have has the Tandoori, Tikka and curry dishes ,Lamb, chicken & Shrimp dishes so far and they have all exceeded our expectations. The restaraunt is nicely decorated, very clean & the staff is very attentive and friendly.

Been there with few of my colleagues for dinner .We went there at 08:45 pm and this place was very busy and there were people waiting there before us. So, we had to wait for long to get a table. So, reservation recommended. This restaurant has a separate bar if you wish you can sit there . While waiting for table we sat there for drinks then after approx 30 minutes we got the table . When it comes to food it's really delicious. But the service is not that great . This restaurant is clean and food delivery was quick. They have buffet lunch as well . Price of the food was average. Reservation highly recommend and please avoid the peak hours in order to get the best service. Server Dallas was really efficient and head worker . Keep up the good work cheers.

It is worth the drive to the north of Dallas to visit this traditional Indian Restaurant. Nothing fancy about the place but nice tablecloths and friendly wait staff. The dishes are the ones that Indian food lovers crave and the medium spice was hot enough to give the food a punch but not overwhelm the flavor. Kingfishers to compliment the meal of course.

We came with a student from India who recommended Mughlai. The decor is very pleasant, the service attentive with water glasses filled immediately and mango drinks served within a few minutes of being ordered. I enjoyed all the flavors, and my wife who thought she would not like Indian food, especially the curry spice, was converted instantly. I was pleased with the variety of offerings from the buffet. Quiet enough to hear each other talk, yet the room was filled with good music and lively conversation. If you love Indian food you have probably already been here. If you have not been by yet, give Mughlai's a try!

I don't really have anything to compare it too, since it was my first time. I went for the lunch buffet which is 12.95. The spread wasn't too big- there was rice, some vegetarian dishes one which was okra (which I hate okra) and some little fried veggie patties which were okay. There was a spicy chicken sausage which was very good and tandoori chicken which was very very good (but wish it had been deboned) and some other curry? chicken which was great and some sort of cheese in a orange sauce. There was fried dough in a cardamom syrup for dessert which was okay. All in all a good meal. I wish there had been descriptions of the food served other than just a name because I had no idea what things were besides veggie or chicken. But a good experience.

My friends and I went here for lunch today. My friends had the buffet and I ordered from the menu. The butter chicken is $14, rice is $5, & naan is $4. We asked the management and they stated that everything is ala cart...the entree does not come with rice or naan. No way I'm paying $23+tax for butter chicken for lunch so I changed my order to some samosas. My friends had the buffet and they said the food was good but when they asked for some basic sliced onions they were told that would be extra. They then asked for some fresh naan and were told that would be extra. This place is out to nickle and dime the customer to death.

Excellent food, lamb very tender in lamb korma. Level of spices spot on. Nan bread one of the best I've ever had.

I visited Mughlai over a work lunch hour with a colleague. The restaurant is very bright, airy, and clean. We had the lunchtime buffet and the food was excellent, with attentive wait staff. Came very close to giving this 5 stars but for the fact the selection of dishes was quite small compared to other Indian buffets.

I decided to try a new Indian place and boy did I make a mistake in coming here. First of all, I didn't know that this place seemed like it had a dress code. The waiters and waitresses stared at us because I guess we were under dressed. I wore leggings with a dress because it was winter and my friend wore denim and a sweater. It felt pretty fancy and not at all what we expected. The waiters seemed like they hated their jobs, even though they answered questions I asked and were informative about the food they had; however, they didn't smile at me. Not even once. The food was decent but not great. It wasn't the greatest Indian food that I have tried. We ordered two entrees and took the rest to-go since we couldn't finish it. Asking for a to-go box, they actually packed it for us but our waitress rolled her eyes when I asked. Did I also mention that we waited for 20 minutes for our plates to be packed up to-go? We were one of the last few customers there... Why did it take 20 minutes? I was disappointed by this place. Based on the environment you would expect better service from here.

My companion and I just enjoyed a great experience at this restaurant. We ordered wine, to learn that what we had ordered was no longer carried, but a well known and described substitute was recommended and we were asked several times during the meal how we liked this wine and what our feedback was. Food was all great and I benefited from a companion who had a great knowledge of Indian food and how to order dishes that we would both enjoy and share. Service was outstanding, paced to our desire to eat slowly and have time to talk. All-in-all a great experience. The "spicy" is spicy and while I love spicy food, do not think that I would be able to enjoy the "Indian spicy." Will return for sure!

Huge selection both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, beautiful decor, fast service, courteous staff......AND the food was delicious!! What's not to like! Work up an appetite by shopping at the nearby Galleria mall (featuring an indoor skating rink) and then head over for dinner. The portions are quite big so sharing is the way to go!

Good food good ambiance. The best part - super courteous staff. Loved it. Coming back again whenever back in Dallas

On a Wednesday, dinner time...occupied to the full capacity. The wait time was around 10 minutes, the aroma of the food has triggered our appetite, and by the wait time we have decided our starters and the main course too! The friendly hostess, nice ambience, quick service are the high lights of this very restaurant and that's the very best reason for our frequent visit here. The panneer tikka as the starters, the bread basket containing regular naan, parathas of pudina and garlic wassumptuous. The bhendi masala, mutter panneer, malai koftha and the vegetable jalfrezi are our favorite dishes. The Kashmiri pulav was so delicious. The food and it's authentic taste, and the personal supervision of Mr.Javed khan and the dedication of his team of chefs and hostesses are remarkable, and makes our every visit memorable.

Finally, I found an authentic Indian food restaurant. Had visited here for lunch buffet. Though there were limited number of dishes and the buffet price too high, the food tasted excellent especially non-veg. Each chicken dish from Chicken Tikka masala to Tandoori chicken were top notch. It felt fresh and the chicken pieces were super tender. Their Murg Malai Kabab are to die for. The staff were attentive and made sure our glasses were full. The ambiance was good and cozy. Kudos to the chef for the great food. Will return again.

Some people just don't know what they're talking about. If you can find better Indian food in Dallas that is more authentic, then you do not understand what Indian food is. The chef is a 5 star chef, and the manager and staff are friendly and courteous- and you have to wait because it is real food, prepared properly by a real chef (imported from India). By the way, don't take my word for it, D Magazine and the Dallas Morning News rate this the best Indian restaurant and one of the top 20 restaurants in Dallas. Afternoon buffet is not as good as dinner because it's a buffet.Tandoori chicken- incredible. It will be the most sublime Indian food you've ever tasted, regardless of whether you eat Indian frequently.

Let me start by saying that the food here is very good. Unfortunately the service does not measure up. We went for dinner on a Saturday night and the hostess seemed confused, and disorganized. There was a plate of half eaten food on the hostess stand, and while we asked for an outdoor table we were shown to one inside. We then were served delicious samosas, but we had to ask for, and wait 15 minutes for the accompanying chutneys to arrive. Our entrees didn't arrive for another half hour, and our iced teas never refilled. To top everything off our server took our leftovers to wrap up, but her tray she stacked them on was full of eaten food of other guests. She returned a doggie bag to us and the table next to us. Worst of all she mixed up our food! The service was rushed and wholly unprofessional. I would only come back here for the buffet where I can serve myself!

This is a place where you find authentic Indian food rather than American-Indian food. All of the items that we tried were absolutely delicious. Akbari biryani deserves a special mention.

Our family had a wonderful dinner at Mughlai. To begin with, the restaurant has very nice ambiance, plenty of openness, and wonderful staff. And the most important -- food is simply great! The appetizers we tried were really tasty. Samosas were freshly made to the order (unlike most places that re-fry), samosa stuffing was very authentic with right amount of spices. Paneer tikka is a definite must-have at this place. They make fresh paneer and tikka was simply delicious. Kids insisted on additional orders of tikka and made a meal out of it! Each one of the main course dishes had the most authentic flavor. This restaurant clearly makes its own sauces. We tried three different types of breads. All were made to order and and reminded of great restaurants in Bombay. Biryani was out of this world -- highly recommended. We ended the meal with ras-malai for desert and loved it!

This was a horrible restaurant ever seen in dallas, on my whole trip..we was 6 person (with 2 kids).. We oder some drinks including mocktail, cocktail and some appetizers but both of them was poorly presentation ... the presentation was very very poor of all over .. in big plate there were handful with leftover salad .. drinks served to us was horrible,as some unexperienced person behind the bar .... 😠😠 Two stars is for main course that we oder.Only panner was good in taste.

Went here for Valentine's Day dinner. The lamb chop sizzler was to die for. They were so good. Their Goat Biriyani was also bursting with flavor. Murg Tikka Makhani was equally good. Even the Margherita and Sundowner were made to perfection. My only complaint was the waitstaff who was assigned to us was bit inattentive and casual. Loosing 1 star for that. Other than that, the food and ambiance were exemplary.

We were 4 family members & visited on 13 may food was gud with quick service we ordered malai kofta, navratna korma with assorted breads & raita it was really good indian food. They hv buffet also but it was not that gud

Sitting down for dinner with a large group of friends, we enjoyed every bit of our experience at Mughlai. The menu here offers every Indian standard plus quite a few more, and our group tried a good array of all of it. Mr. Cuddles particularly enjoyed the lamb korma and the veggie samosas (drizzled with the purple sauce), and the garlic naan was a nice accompaniment. Everyone else, especially the vegetarians and vegans in the group, sang high praises of their food as well. In addition to the food, the décor is also purely elegant, with gold embroidered tablecloths and delicate lighting. Outdoor café seating is also available, though better for intimate dinners rather than the large group we had. Prices are a bit higher than you might expect (including that you get charged for rice), but you get a ton of food for it. Almost everyone at the table had a filling dinner and lunch for the next day left over. Fair warning: getting something “medium” here does mean significant spice, but regardless, you’re almost certain to get something delicious with whatever you order. If you’re looking for Indian around Dallas, there’s probably no place better.

Kathy took great care of us. The food was excellent and so was the service. The Murgh makhmalekabab was tasty and so was the Rogan josh. The beers were the right accompaniment. Look forward to being back soon! Great food and excellent service - five stars.

I was suggested to go to Mughlai for the best Indian food in DFW metroplex. And I am inclined to agree. There was a good variety of Indian food woth Korma, Balti, Vindaloo and Tandoori for example. The foods could be ordered in four levels of spicy and level 3 was very spicy, so even people who likes to get their tongues burned will like this. The restaurant has a very nice setting and the atmosphere is nice. The reason it didn't get 5 today was that the kids menu was surprisingly spicy, but didn't mention that in the menu. And the service was somewhat erratic and inconsistent. But the later could have been a one-time thing, so I will have to go back and see if that has improved.

Another disappointing buffet place. The buffet is way too pricey. The only thing I liked in the buffet was the dal. Balti dal was well cooked and I sometimes miss this kind of dal. In panner it looked like that they have mixed red color in water and put cubes of panner in it. Total disappointment. Aloo methi and vegetable jalfarezi was meh.... Aloo bonda was ok. In deserts they had sabodana kheer and jalebi. Kheer was ok but jalebi was pathetic. People on here were praising jalebi. It means they haven't eaten the jalebi in their life. This places seems to put color in the every dish. The jalebi looked raw and it had lot of coloring. Overall it was a bad experience. The place is too pricey and the ambience was ok. They had "Best Restaurant" award on their walls. I think they should just take that down now. You guys don't deserve that award anymore. Please save your money and time by ignoring this place.

My first experience with Indian food years ago was ugly. Apparently food poison was involved and it took me years to shake the memories. I am still reluctant to suggest Indian food and I am running the other way when a spice dish appears. The staff at this restaurant are very patient in explaining the menu and understanding my concerns. I left the other evening with an eggplant entree and two yummy appetizers - one with breaded vegetables and the other with chickpeas. Made several delicious meals for me. Eventually I suppose I will learn the names of what it is I am eating. But I shall return to Mughlai for certain!

We chanced upon this restaurant last night when we were coming back home after dropping a friend at hte airport. this restaurant is right opposite to the galleria mall in Dallas pkwy. there were only a couple of occupied tables and we were seated immediately. There were lot of vegetarian options and we chose to have the Dahi vada, which was soft and sweet and mango lassi which tasted out of the world. We were given fritters with chutney as well. We had sesame naan and paneer masala which was spiced to perfection and came along with basmati rice. Service was super fast and attentive. We had our baby daughter who insisted on playing with the phone full time and making baby noises and the staff was friendly and caught up a conversation with us. The maitre got us a sweet on the house (gulab jamoon) which was right out of stove and tasted excellent. This is definitely the best among indian restaurants we have been to in Dallas so far and we will surely return!

Excellent subzi, Nice Ambience, Courteous staff , Good Crowd.. Only dissatisfaction was the Roti, Naan which is not fresh may be due to the dough. Overall a good place.

First time to this restaurant. We've tried at least 7-8 other Indian restaurants in the Dallas Metroplex area and none were as good as this one. Service was good and the food was very good. They also got the spiciness correct. I will definitely be going back.

If you want an original Indian meal then look no further. The food is original and authentic. Service is friendly and prompt. You will NOT be disappointed. Give it a try!!

The lamb chop adraki is excellent....perfect marination n tasty...the meat was soft with right proportion of ginger. Akbari biryani is tasty....so also chicken tikka masala...loved the courteous behavior of the staff....would visit again whenever in Dallas.

Amazing. We were regulars at the Southlake location but sadly they closed. It was fortuitous that we were in the neighborhood of the Dallas location at it was fantastic! We ordered level 5 spice & it was still a little mild & the owner/manager offered some special hot sauce which made it perfect. The tandoori was cooked to perfection. Melt in your mouth good. The service was good. I have nothing but good things to say. I may drive 25 miles for dinner more often. It was worth it 100%.

This is a comfortable, clean and delicious Indian restaurant. The owners are usually there and so things run smoothly. Our favorite dish, recommended by the owner, is the Saag Paneer, a fried cheese dish. Give it a try if you are near the Galleria!

Ordered lamb kebabs for appitizer. Chicken tikka masala, dal makhani & assorted basket of bread and rice. All the entrees were tasty and I am now looking forward to visiting dallas more. Service was excellent and restaurant was clean. Just don't know why there were only 4 tables occupied from 6:30 - 8:00 Will return for sure someday!

Judging from the majority of Indian clientele of this restaurant, you can easily guest that it is authentic.

Great food with convenient location. I liked the decor, it is not typical Indian restaurant decoration. The servers were very polite and friendly. They packed the left overs for us. I really liked the chai because it was flavorful and light. Vegetable biryani, lamb keema and mugh tikka were my favorites. They have buffet lunches almost every day and during holidays.

Food is very tasty, I tried the Roghan Josh dish. The service as well is very good, but the menu is a little pricey.

Visited this place with friends and family, celebrating my and another couple's marriage anniversary. My friends called the place and asked if they provided a cake. The answer was "No. We can shape a dessert like Gajar halwa like a cake". Ok that is NOT a cake. So we decided to take our own. Our party of 10 people arrives and we get seating. The waiter we got was new, so he had a tough time understanding the order, so we had to point out the dishes in the menu. Thankfully - the order was right Food comes in. Good food, well cooked, though a couple of dishes like the Chicken Biriyani were a complete let down. Finally, the moment comes up. We bring out the cake and ask for a knife and a few small plates. We get them after a wait. The check arrives and lo and behold. On a USD 400 bill, they have tacked on an additional charge for the plates for the cake! When we ask, the answer - you got outside food. HELLO!!!! we asked you for a cake, you refused! This is a celebration!!! We decide not to tip. The waiter actually asks me to come to a side and asks "why no tip? Is my service not good?" Well Mr. Waiter - you don't know names of the dishes, you take time to take the order, service is average and ask for extra when we ask for cutlery. Damn right you get no tip! Sorry Mughlai. I have eaten multiple times in this place, but never again!

Mughlai has definitely improved their food quality since they opened last year. Food is amazing i would say best Indian food in town. Their menu keeps changing so you have variety. Their sweet dishes are very delicious. Ambience is good, little expensive.

Never expected Indian food to be tasting this good in this part of the world! Everything just tasted amazing! Love the ambiance! They even do home deliveries to the suburbs of Dallas! Love their excellent service and casual visits to the table made by the Owner himself Mr. Jawed. A very warm personality. I am so going there whenever I have a craving for authentic Indian food!

Oh man telling you I have never had this bad experience in my life in family restaurant. I was there with my family, friends, kids ranging from 1 year old to 3 year old. Took them 2 hours to get our food. It took them 45 minutes just to get the menu. We went to the restaurant at 7:00 pm and did not get out till 9:30 PM. Our kids were getting cranky & hungry crying for food. When we complain the owner of the service he shot back at us that it is our fault that we are getting up and taking kids outside and messing up our order. We were being courteous to the other guest dining in the restaurant from hearing our kids cry. Also how would It mess up the order when you already placed the order for the food. IF YOU WANT THE WORST SERVICE THEN GO TO THIS RESTAURANT.

We were treated to a selection of food from Mughlai during a recent college visit. Wow! This was hands down the best Indian food we have ever eaten. Do not miss the opportunity to dine here. You will not be disappointed.

Such a pleasant surprise for me and my fiance when we visited Mughlai. The service and the atmosphere were so nice, that we've already made a return visit! I'm going to start off with the food. If you're a vegan, they have a separate vegan menu that they will give you if you request it. There's a decent number of options on it too! We both started off with the Vegetable Samosas and I had the Aloo Gohbi. The Samosas were great! If there are only 2 of you, one order will work. There are 3 of them, but they're pretty large. The perfect amount to get you prepared for your main course. They came out hot. The crust was nice and flaky, plus the potatoes and peas on the inside were perfectly seasoned. My Aloo Gohbi came out next. Nice and hot, with the perfect amount of spiciness! I like my food pretty hot, and they will definitely put the heat in your dish if you ask for it. The reason that my review is 3 stars and not 4 stars isn't because of the food or most of the staff, but because of an incident that we had during our second visit. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. She explained the dishes, gave good recommendations, and kept our waters full (I needed my water too!!!).We had come in unintentionally about 25 minutes before their closing time of 2:30 (a little after 2pm). It wasn't brought to our attention (nor it shouldn't have been) until one waitress, who wasn't even serving our table, brought our ticket to us before we even got our appetizer. She asked if we could take care of this so they could get out of there when they closed. My review isn't based on her alone though, even though she did make our meal feel awkward and rushed. Our waitress was kind and pleasant. When we told her that we didn't know that it was that close to closing time, she told us that it was quite alright and not a problem at all. The owner (or who I assumed to be the owner) also walked by and asked us if we enjoyed our meal. She seemed very pleasant as well. The food was very good, the decor on the inside is great. and most of the staff is superb! I recommend this spot to anyone in the area, wanting Indian food. You won't be disappointed. I'm just going to make sure that if it's anywhere within the hour of closing time, I'm going to look for some other spot to stop!

I visited Mughalai for the first time in 2015. By mistake I ordered dhall makhni with spice level 9 (sole mistake is mine) when I was struggling to eat, the manager himself offered a new plate of dhall makhni with tolerable spice level with no extra charge. Since then, this restaurant has become my favourite. Not only just for the service, but also for the tasty food. Lachha paratha is awesome. I have tasted all types of naan and paratha. Strongly recommend this place for dine in and party orders.

This is our favorite Indian restaurant! Had a wonderful dinner as always tonight! Everything on the menu is so great, and they will make it to your liking, little spice/medium/spicy...all done to perfection! We tried so many fabulous dishes and so many appetizers and they were all amazing! Very generous portions! The drinks and wine were all really good too. Our most amazing part of our dinner besides the great food was the great service...Asmita was our server and she was outstanding! She made great suggestions and was so attentive to our table. We always come back here and for a great reason. Two reasons...food and service.

Good Indian. Ok atmosphere. Nice owner but seems kind of quiet. Nice menu. We like it better than India Palace

I got very good tasty food here veg as well as non veg indian panjabi food. I have enjoyed with my family members in 2015
Good Food and excellent service.
After moving out of Dallas so I remember ever more how good this place was and maybe still is... Make sure to visit for their amazing food and service.
