The food and the service was Amazing The quality of the meat is incredibile The only thing i can complain about is that the space on the table are too small but you forget as soon as you get the amazing food

I had my 71st birthday dinner at Musso this past October. I was particularly excited for this because my birthday is Halloween, and I could not get a reservation on that day for two years prior. Being a native New Yorker steak houses are important to me and Musso had been one of my all-time favorites. Something strange happened on this night. When I pulled into their lot in the rear of the restaurant to valet it was the emptiest, I'd ever seen it. There was a big SUV and one other car at most. I joked with the attendant asking him "Can you squeeze me in". As we walked in, I noticed my car being driven off lot. Didn't make sense to me why with all the available space, but I was at Musso and felt there was no need to worry. The next morning when I noticed the damage on my rear bumper I emailed and then phoned Andrea Scuto the Maitre'd. The response I received was as expected "Don't worry I'll have my parking guy take care of you". Perfect exactly what I expected to hear, and that night the dinner and service did not disappoint either. I never expected to be told it didn't happen and totally blown off. It is the way they did not take responsibility nor do anything at all about the damage they caused to my car that has driven me to write this review. After many emails and calls, ultimately, I was bounced between a few guys at the parking company and basically lied to, made to feel like I was fabricating the story and then blown off. In my opinion when you place something of value in somebodies' possession and they are a reputable establishment you expect much more respectful treatment than this. Be forewarned.

Came here a couple of nights ago and decided to come back for our last night in LA. The place was buzzing. But we were made to feel so special. A note to wish us Bon Voyage started our evening off. I started with oysters and followed up with a fillet of steak, cooked to perfection. A small issue with the asparagus but soon put right and cheesecake on the house to apologise. All in all a wonderful evening and a definite recommendation to visit.

It has been 15 months of lockdowns in Los Angeles and Musso and Frank finally reopened recently so I booked not one, not two, but THREE reservations. We went to the first one, just a week after reopening and found that Mussos was as good as ever. The place is saturated with history, the waiters are extraordinary, the front staff couldn't be nicer and the food is beyond spectacular. The second visit, a few days later was just as good. I'm looking forward to reservation three. There is simply no other restaurant in Los Angeles -- and very few restaurants anywhere in the world that can offer the entertainment and culinary value that is available at Mussos. Not very many establishments last more than 100 years and when they do there is a good reason. You will not be disappointed by your night out at this amazing piece of Hollywood history come to life.

Loved the atmosphere. My food ratings below: French Onion Soup-10 Meatballs-9.7 Filet- 8.2 Onion Rings-9.3 Baked Potato- 7.9 Creme Brule- 9.9 Brioche Bread Pudding- 7.7 Fettucine Alfredo- 9.6 Bernaise-9.7 Ketchup-9.2

The staff was friendly and attentive. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the pasta was delicious. A wonderful dining experience overall and must try!

We wanted to celebrate our anniversary and, of course, had heard about Musso & Frank for years. You always worry that something won't live up to the hype but the did. The food is great. (I had the spinach and ricotta ravioli and broccoli and my husband had the filet mignon and a baked potato. All of it excellent. ) The historic setting-it was opened before Hollywood was Hollywood-lends to the enjoyment but even without that background it's a great place. The service was excellent and the energy level high. The Manhattans were potent-in the best possible way. There is valet parking in the back. You enter from the side street. It's only $7 for 3 hours. Obviously, the restaurant is expensive but it's worth it.

Our hotel concierge scored us a dinner reservation during Oscar weekend. Great, historical location (over 100 years in business at this location). We sat in the Charlie Chaplin booth near the door to see who was coming and going. Only ones we recognized were Jay Leno and his wife. Great food and superior service as one would expect from a place with this reputation.

Parking is bs - nickel and dine joint ruined by valet. Experience is 100% or it is 1%. Food, servers, atmosphere is great. Parking is mafia game.

From the moment you walk in the door, you are transported to the era of old world hospitality and class. The waiters are fantastic, the ambience is lively. The food is fabulous, old fashion with a twist. It’s a must visit.

Last restaurant of our road trip in the United States, total satisfaction! There is a French brasserie atmosphere, the dishes are very good and hearty, and the price remains correct for the service offered! Very friendly and classy staff.

Entrees and sides extremely small for the price. Living on hype only Not a place to visit for a true LA experience. Don't visit this overpriced, mediocre overrated dump

Nice place with good food, quite large and lots of people. Historic restaurant that provides a classic Hollywood experience, the only thing that draws down is that it is located in the most trashy street in all Hollywood (don’t spend time here, would drove right to the restaurant).

Great food, huge portions but the waiter alerted us of that. Fantastic lively atmosphere and individual service. Hollywood history

Went for my birthday dinner. Paid Valet parking is in the rear. Your waiter will validate your ticket so you'll pay a discounted rate. You enter in the rear and walk to the front host stand. You will be escorted to your table. Your waiter will appear and give you a full run down of items not listed on the menu. If you're there for a special occasion now is the time to mention that. The menu has the current date so you can keep it as a souvenir. They have exclusive items to M&F on the menu, so those will be guaranteed winners. The martinis are strong. The food portions are just right. The desserts are delicious and the coffee is great. Service is impeccable. Your waiter deserves his tip. Atmosphere is old school but expected in a place that opened in 1919. Truly a wonderful experience.

We had a amazing dinner with a delightful atmosphere, the waiter was incredible, his name was Bryan, we ate a stunning ribeye and we had amazing cocktails at the table, the tartare as a starter was amazing. I recommend for sure this place to get an amazing dinner in Hollywood

Had been looking forward to visiting here. Got a great booth and was able to take in the hustle and bustle of this evidently popular restaurant. The pasta Alfredo was very good indeed. Enjoyed the sidecar martini too.

Incredible place, it's like being in a movie. Excellent food, delicious cocktails and impeccable service. We went back two nights in a row!

I've wanted to go here for a while and am happy I finally made it. Let's be frank - it is a bit of a tourist trap. No one in the industry would be caught dead there these days. The food is just OK, the service good. But it was wonderful to get off the hellscape that is Hollywood Blvd. for a bit and step back into another age.

I’ve been a regular here for many years and love the old time menu, the rushed off their feet waiters and the wonderful gin martini’s. Try the lobster ravioli and the key lime pie (my favourites) and soak up the glorious atmosphere of this restaurant. It pretty much remains unchanged from the golden years of Hollywood until now, you may even see a movie star or two while your there! A little on the expensive side but dinner and drinks at Musso & Frank is an experience to be savoured!

History, superb food, outstanding service, and wonderful atmosphere makes for a special night out. This is a special place and is cared for by special staff who love it... and it shows. We love it too.

Not the best food we've had, but it was definitely a cool place to visit when you are from out of town. The bartenders were crusty but cool. Steak was a little overcooked and clearly they turn a lot of tables here. But we really enjoyed the feel of it and the red coated waiters. Host was great. Too bad the Blvd outside is getting so sketchy. We nearly witnessed a murder with a shirtless guy swinging a metal pipe one block down. Take a cab or an Uber there.

My family and I went to Musso and Franks Grill on the 17th of June 2023. The restaurant was recommended by heaps of friends and we just had to go and see if it was worth the hype and it was. Before our meals came, they brought out the most delicious bread and the entrees were amazing. I ordered spaghetti and they asked if I wanted another serve as they believed it was a small serve. Living in Australia, the portions are smaller so I thought it was a perfect amount. They then said they weren’t satisfied with the portion size and gave me a free dessert! We had also been told that Harrison Ford from Indiana Jones had been at the restaurant the night before us and sat in the booth right next to where we were seated! Overall, the food was amazing, the waitresses were so friendly and interactive and the service was so quick even though it was busy. If you are visiting LA or just live there, you must have dinner at Musso and Franks Grill.

I love this iconic place! I have wanted to try it for decades and never managed to make it happen until recently - now it's my new LA favorite! Ambiance, wonderful, classic and a class act through and through. The bar is so cool - enjoyed table service so I didn't hang there but could see that as a definite go-to for drinks with friends. You can tell they know how to mix. Service was outstanding starting with the drink recommendation... I had the Mezcal Latin Manhattan; a great twist on the traditional - flawlessly crafted. The food was excellent. I had the prime rib which was served w/ baked potato; one of the best I've enjoyed anywhere. They are often too salty but this was tender, perfectly medium rare and melt-in-your-mouth first bite to last. The French onion soup, flawless and loaded; again the potential for too salty but instead, rich and savory, perfect balance. Shrimp cocktail was faultless; steak tartare, delicious! Sides: baker and broc & both were fab... They nailed it. Considering the quality and service, the price was entirely reasonable. If you want a special experience, I highly recommend M&F! I can't wait to come back again and again to roll through the plentiful menu selections (including the daily specials) It's the kind of place you want to turn people on to. Kudos to Musso & Frank and the folks that have kept the 100+yr tradition going strong! PS: Perfect location if you are heading to the Hollywood Bowl. We lucked out with a parking space out front and walked to our event... If I didn't have to drive, I would have come back and spent some time at the bar and maybe snuck in a dessert... I'll be back! Couldn't ask for a better evening. Cheers!

Have been to LA many times and somehow have missed this gem until now! Went with a family party of 6 for a birthday and a great time was had by all!! We were seated right on time in a wonderful booth, service was excellent as was all the food we had!! Drinks were all perfect, and we had steaks, chicken parmesan, chicken pot pie, creamed spinach, and the lyonnaise potatoes-everything was SO DELICIOUS! The atmosphere is just right and the bar was fun for a drink first, too. Felt like Old Hollywood and I just knew we would see stars, but no such luck...maybe next time!! Can't wait to go back!!

Visiting Musso & Frank is like stepping back in time to the 1920's. The restaurant looks almost identical to the pictures on the wall of long ago times when the place was a young restaurant in Hollywood. The servers still wear their red jackets, guests are still referred to as "Mr and Mrs. so and so. Beyond the ambiance and nostalgia, the restaurant is simply perfection. The staff are friendly and professional. The steps of service by your server will be PERFECT. What are the steps of service you ask? Ever go somewhere, order an appetizer and your entree and it all comes out together, making you mad? How about feeling rushed to order dinner when you just want to relax with your drink? If you have experienced this you have experienced a failure in the steps of service. During dinner our server gave us space, allowed us to enjoy our bottle of wine and paced the meal perfectly. We never felt rushed or hurried. Moving beyond the service, the food was phenomenal. Fresh and delicious, full of flavor. This place is certainly worth a visit if you're in the Hollywood area!

We had a fantastic dinner at Musso & Frank! Although Hollywood Blvd today is lined with tourist traps, Musso & Frank is the real deal! We were so impressed by the service and the atmosphere. The dining room is beautiful, and it feels like stepping back in time. My steak was very tender and had great mesquite-grilled flavor, and my wife's fish was excellent as well. The sides and salad were great too, particularly the cottage potatoes. Cocktails were phenomenal and old school. I would definitely come again!

The restaurant truly provides fine dining service. We pushed our luck at the last minute and went without a reservation, but they did not turn us away, and after a short wait, we went to our table. I think the service and food quality are great, and the variety of drinks is sufficient. We paid a reasonable price for such a good service and quality food. Thank you for everything.

This will be one of the best dining experiences you will ever have! Theo and all of our wait staff were fantastic, extremely efficient, warm and they were impeccably dressed in either red or blue dinner jackets.

Atmosphere authentic and lively; pleasant, accommodating front-of-house manager; obsequious, pushy waiter; mediocre to awful food.

Truly a piece of Hollywood history and a dive into the Italian-Americanism of Los Angeles. Courteous and attentive welcome even in the great confusion that reigns supreme in the room. Warm and pleasant furnishings, fast and attentive waiters. A truly Italian-American menu where we favored meat. They brought us a fabulous ribeye and delicious "cottage fries". But what amazed us was the bread... it had the scent of homemade bread, now almost impossible to find even in Italy. If you pass through LA you can not miss it. Prices aligned.

Reservation by OpenTable worked perfectly. Full house on a Sunday evening. Food and drinks were excellent! Service very good. Nice, classic setting. Feels like time travel. Couldn’t imagine it any better.

4 of us had a delightful dinner on Wednesday night. First of all we arrived at 6:00pm, the time of our reservation and were promptly seated at a large booth. Service is friendly and punctual. I especially like restaurants that serve fresh warm bread and water shortly after being seated. For starters, we each had martinis served in classic martini glasses with an iced carafe of chilled vodka. 2 of us had the 10oz Prime Rib that was cooked to perfection. One of our guests had the sand dabs that she throughly enjoyed and my wife had the sour boughten that was more then she could finish. This 100 year old restaurant is a delight to visit and offers quality food with a classic Hollywood experience.

Outstanding in every sense. Service was impeccable; the bar staff know their stuff! Incredibly welcoming from the moment you step in. French Dip sandwich was unbearably delicious, wish I lived in LA just so I could call this place my local.

I mean, it’s legendary, so it has to be 5 stars! The ambiance is old school Hollywood and it really has not changed much (if at all) over the decades. From the Classic Martini (with the side car second pour), to the big steaks, to the pasta, it’s all great. Our server Chris, was low energy, but he was attentive and we really appreciated him bringing us a free ice cream topped brownie for our son’s birthday we were celebrating! After diner, go next door to have a whiskey sour at the bar. Recreate the scene from “Once upon a time in Hollywood” that was shot there! Make reservations months in advance! It’s not cheap, of course, but it’s not that expensive for LA. The location is in the heart of Touristic Hollywood, so make an evening of it! VictorB

We wanted to go out to dinner on Sunday evening with my niece, her husband and son (2.5 years old). We lived right on Hollywood Boulevard, so my husband suggested the restaurant. I had no idea what a historically interesting house it was. So we went there without a reservation. The restaurant was full and I immediately felt good in the loud atmosphere. For such an establishment and its fame, you would have thought that the employees might be arrogant, but no, they were super friendly. And we were lucky, we got a table. The food was excellent, as were the cocktails. A very successful evening! Now I know why Charlie Chaplin liked to go here so much :-)

Very cool experience. Went to the bar whilst waiting for our table to be ready. We were served by a gentleman called Sully who was very inviting and entertaining (drinks are veryyy expensive). Had a Bombay & lemonade which was beautiful. Had a cup of their version of a French onion soup which was very nice. For main, we went for a New York strip with a side of truffle Mac & cheese, fries and some sort of cheese potatoes. The fries weren’t all that good but everything else tasted amazing. We were served by Migel who was very pleasant. The sides may seem pricey but they’re huge.

The food at this restaurant was amazing and our waiter was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was so busy that we had to wait to order, wait between courses and wait a long time between getting the check and paying. This waiting let it down but still recommended.

Ever since my umpteenth viewing of the Quentin Tarantino film, "Once Upon A Time in Hollywood", I have wanted to have a meal at this restaurant. It was worth the wait. Sitting in the main dining room is a time travel back to the days of old Hollywood. High ceilings with etched designs, waiters in tux jackets and ties, and lots and lots of beautiful wood. What a place! You can even see the entryway where Al Pacino's character greets Gina, the hostess. I felt a bit under-dressed in a collared shirt and jeans, but looking around, I realized that I was right on point. The ladies in the room were definitely dressing to impress however, and I wished that I was a little more dressed as well. The food was every bit as special as the surroundings. I had a wonderful, 18 ounce, medium-rare Prime Rib with a baked potato, and a made-to-order Courvoisier Old Fashioned. Our table of four was a bit "disorganized", but our waiter handled everything expertly. Yes, the bill was what might be considered pricey ($800 for a table of four) But this was the whole "old school cool" experience. I would gladly spend to visit again.

Fabulous bar and really met all my expectations! Great staff and ambience. I was looked after so well!

We always look forward to having at least one meal here each year. Food is always amazing. I had a steak which was cooked to perfection along with a lovely salad. My husband had the pasta dish which was also lovely. Staff are courteous and polite and service is great. The whole ambience of the place is lovely and takes you back to a different time. It is often seen in many movies.

This restaurant is definitely in my top 10 and has amazing food and excellent service! I would totally come back here again!

This spot has been featured in movies, TV series and a long list of Bosch crime novels and it is absolutely famous The ambience, the waiters and the ultra-crowded booths all met our expectations, but the menu was not up to those levels. The highly touted chicken pot pie in particular was disappointing.

Ambiance, food quality, and service are why this place has lasted so long. The menu selection was extensive and from what I could see passing our table, all looked amazing. I had one of the house specialties that included medallions of beef with bernaise on the side. Shared potatoes au gratin that was delicious. Nice dessert list too.

Such an icon in Los Angeles. Go just for the experience! The food is good, not great. The wait staff are friendly and professional. But the atmosphere is old-school Hollywood.

This is a historic restaurant situated in Hollywood, where you can feel the history of this place and its role in the movie industry. Lot of famous Hollywood types have frequented this place over the decades, given its proximity to where they work. The tomato soup was excellent, and so was the prime rib. The pasta was decent, but not amazing. Enjoyed the dessert and service as well. All in all, this was a great experience!

Had seen on TV and didn’t disappoint. Promised a piece of old Hollywood and delivered. Food was fantastic. Service 2nd to none. Advised on Opentable it was our anniversary and was welcomed with a Card and a ver pleasant welcome

We finally made it to Musso and Frank! We loved it all. The ambiance and staff both excelled. As big movie lovers, we’ve long wanted to go when we were in L. A. Peter the maitre ‘d. has to be one of the loveliest people we’ve met in all of our travels. Paul and Luis were also wonderful. The food was delicious. Pricey. But you are paying for history as well. Remember to come in the back and use the valet for the full experience.

Had a chance to do a make up dinner with my wife on 8/22/25. The first time I took her to dinner here fell apart completely because of me! I let the staff know my plan to make it up to my wife when I made my reservation via open table… I kinda forgot that I mentioned this but when we arrived i was reminded! We were seated in a lovely table with a view of the restaurant. It felt nestled into the corner which was nice. The atmosphere is old school old hollywood steakhouse. Our server brought over complementary prosecco, and took our drink order… he then brought over a lovely meatball amusbush (sp) My wife and I decided to enjoy the cold crab cocktail, and share a filet and an order of fettuccini alfredo. Everything was delicious and we were feeling very full, but we wanted to look at the desert menu….I saw the 1919 sundae… carmelized banana, peanut brittle, chocolate sauce over vanilla ice cream…. we are more of that that i thought possible…. and it was so good! service was so good, their care in helping me make going there a special memory was so appreciated! They continue to be my favorite spot to hit when i go to LA!

If you would like to experience one of the last old classic Hollywood restaurants, this IS the place - True professional staff, not out of work Hollywood wanna be’s, will Take great care of you! A wide menu and great bar- newly added private rooms too! Food is first rate! Keep your eyes open because you never know who might be dining near you!

So Musso & Frank has been on the bucket list for awhile. Have seen the restaurant in several films/shows. So continuing our Hollywood Glam weekend we made a reservation. Staff was attentive and wonderful. We sat in bar prior to dinner and enjoyed the ambiance. Once seated we immensely enjoyed our meal. We ordered the stuffed celery, olives , French onion soup, fettuccine and broccolini. Everything was superb. Will definitely return in the future.

It’s been while since my last visit due to moving out of the area, but when in town to watch a show at the Pantages, Musso & Frank is our place for dinner. I mean, it’s been in business for over 103 years, restaurants come and go and Musso & Frank is still standing. Good service, delicious dirty martinis, and amazing steaks. Shout to our server Josh and Noe.

We make a reservation here every time we come to LA. Once again the food was outstanding. I had Sirloin and my husband had Sand dabs. Beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Amazing service as always. Already counting down the days until next time.

We recently were in LA visiting our adult son, bringing his grandmother to LA for an Easter visit. This was her first visit to LA and we were looking for nostalgic LA attractions to show her since she is a classic movie buff. Her grandson made reservations for all of us for dinner. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the dining experience. We felt rushed throughout our dinner. We were rushed to order cocktails and then they brought our entrees out before my husband and son were barely half-way into their martinis. The bar area was very crowded and was extremely loud making it impossible for us to hear each other at our table. My husband and son each ordered the Grenadine of Beef and they were delicious. My mother-in-law ordered the Chicken Pot Pie and she said it was good. (We did not sample her's). I ordered the Gnocchi and would not recommend it. Not particularly tasty and was much too salty. At the conclusion of our meal, our server picked up my husband's credit card and said " I'll take that and get you out of here." This just added to the feeling that we were being rushed to the door. That all being said, we are so happy that this establishment has been successful for so many years and we hope they continued to thrive and keep the wonderful classic decor. It is nice to still find places that are proud of their history and continue to share that and do not change to look like every other cookie cutter establishment.

Had been trying to get a reservation but had left it too long for our pitstop in Hollywood but luckily checked the night before we wanted to go and managed to nab what I assume was a cancellation! We sat in one of the booths; the atmosphere was something else! Food was fantastic, although the portions are huge so order wisely! We took our leftovers home for the next day! Very much recommended.

One of the very last of check classic Hollywood restaurants! This place does good business because the food, drinks, location and most important the service are all first rate- I try to make sure I get in there every time I get back to Los Angeles!

What is there to say about a place as famous, fabulous and fancy as Musso & Frank? There isn’t but I’ll try. I’ve been wanting to eat here for literally decades and we never could get a reservation during our short stays in LA but this time one slot was open at 8:30, bam. We’re in. We parked valet in the back of the restaurant, went in, checked in and watched the people-I’m guessing there were more famous folks than even we recognized. We sat right in the middle of the large dining room, two conspicuous bumpkins, trying not to be too out of our element (tho we were) The place ran like a Patek Philippe, a maître d gliding through the room, keeping things sharp. Our server, Matthew, made us feel special and never a hint that we didn’t belong, thank you. He made a suggestion here and there as we ordered which I appreciated. I started with French Onion soup, perfect. A glass of Silvia Cab then Beef Grenadine (three filet medallions, simply pan-seared) which was like butter tender and bathed in Bearnaise, with fresh broccolini. (My husband got the Roast Prime Rib) What a great night. Just being in a place with so much history. All the staff were gracious and welcoming. I’ll never forget it.

Definitely a rare experience in the rough. Simply amazing food and an even more incredible atmosphere complete with the air that many famous movies were filmed inside.

I’ve invited a couple of customers over for dinner, everything was nearly perfect, my onion soup was delicious, and the sides were also very good, but my oyster stew was a rather thin soup and not quite a stew Also prices are a little exaggerated

What a memorably wonderful place! We arrived early for our dinner reservation and thought we would have a cocktail at the bar. It was packed, but friendly people on each side made room for us. We all talked the entire time we were at the bar. The bartender, a delightful young woman, made good drinks and engaged in friendly conversation. When it was dinner time we were taken to a private booth where we had filets of sanddabs and a filet mignon. A perfect meal in an historic setting.

This Hollywood original has been serving great steaks for more than 100 years in the same location. Valet parking in the rear. Celebrity sightings. Intimate booths or counter seating facing grill masters at open fire grilling. Daily specials. A list of potato selections. Fabulous sour dough bread. Sand dabs, roast turkey, chicken pot pie, juicy pork chops, liver and onions - a huge selection. Great service. Excellent bar.

Go for the atmosphere and make a reservation. We ended up with a late dinner reservation and used their parking which I think was $12 for 2 hrs? We had some drinks down the street on Hollywood Blvd beforehand. Parking is elsewhere was at least $25. Great cocktails-I had the vodka lemonade and my husband had wine. Great house bread and my entree was the rigatoni vodka that was really good with the added chicken. My husband had the salmon and we got the truffle mac and cheese as well. HIGHLY recommend that. They had a birthday card for my husband at our seat and let us take a menu home. They even brought out a mini brownie/ice cream dessert with a candle on it. Great service! Wish I could remember the waiter's name.

The restaurant is the one featured in so many movies and novels, and it's truly impressive to sit in one of the booths. The Italian-American cuisine is worth trying, especially the fettuccine Alfredo.

This is the 2nd time I’ve been to Musso & Frank and both times I’ve been impressed by not only the food but by the service and the ambience. The first time we sat at a table Charlie Chaplin once sat in. The 2nd time we sat in a different room in the back. Both times I ordered the prime rib and had plenty to take home. The garlic bread is out of this world! You can’t go wrong with any of the items on the menu. All wonderfully prepared and served with a smile

Musso & Frank Grill is the best place to eat in Los Angeles. It's been around for over 100 years and it is easy to see why. The food and drinks are GREAT! Countless Hollywood legends have been here and scenes from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood were filmed here. How good is Musso & Frank Grill? They have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Enough said. George Vreeland Hill

The service here is perfect. You could swear the same waiters have been working there for 100 years, even the young ones! Maybe it's the short red jackets that instill a sense of timeliness. In any event, there is nothing stuffy or old fashioned here and the food is solid. Not to be missed if you are in the LA area...

We visited for lunch after exploring Hollywood for most of the day. Had the famous Fettuccine Alfredo, which was excellent. The service was first class, great deor and great dining experience.

Wheres the fire, we were rushed from start to finish, food ok, not good not bad, but all luke warm. Would i return, quite simply no, nothin special.

My friend and I attended this incredible restaurant like stepping in to the past could not believe how attentive the managers were finding us a table in private dining room ...the food was out of this world ..the waiter so nice and funny too ..the whole dining experience was like a dream ! I left my jacket and the waiter came out of the restaurant to hand it to my friend we are both Australian my friend lives in LA and myself a visitor ...thanks for the memorable experience it was way more than a meal !! Highly recommend...Thankyou ! 😊😊

I had steak and my husband had a prk chop. Both meals cooked to perfection. Have missed this place over the last few years. So great to be back.

We made reservations here for a special dinner on our last night in LA and the night before my birthday (they even gave me a birthday card for an extra special touch). Our server Miguel was top notch and super efficient. The bread was tasty. Our meatball and polenta appetizer was just mediocre as we've had much better meatball appetizers elsewhere. My husband ordered the rib eye steak, which was good. I ordered the turkey a la king, which had huge white meat chunks and some dark shredded meat in a yummy sauce plus pieces of side bread to dip into the remaining sauce. This is a classy restaurant, so PLEASE dress the part or at least pretend you are classy for one night.

My wife wanted to have her birthday dinner here last year. We did, and it was delicious and memorable. Naturally, she wanted to return again this year. We did, and it was as delicious and as memorable as last time. Make a reservation in advance and let the restaurant know that it's a birthday. The birthday person will get a nice card and a complimentary dessert. Terry was our awesome server. We started our dinner by splitting the wedge salad. Then we each ordered the filet mignon and shared asparagus. The birthday girl started with a Hendrick's Gin Martini; we shared a lovely bottle of Brunello (Campo Fiori) that complemented our steaks perfectly.

If you want to get into old Hollywood, you've come to the right place. Classic American bistro atmosphere with waiters in the livre and with style. A bit dusty but very intimate seating gives privacy. The food is good, and priced fairly.

It’s hard to find anything original these days, the Musso & Frank Grill is like entering a time machine and experiencing a something special. From the classic and seemingly untouched interior from 1919, the hardworking staff and of course amazing throwback menu, you will not be disappointed, we loved this place.

The history of this restaurant is remarkable. The food and service are excellent. We finished off with the cheesecake that Frank Sinatra originally flew in from New York. Well worth a visit.

Love coming here as ot feels like stepping back in time. All the staff are so smart and polite. I had the New York steak, which was amazing. My husband d had the bouillabaisse. Both were fabulous. Will be back again next year when visiting from UK.

Worth a visit, 100 years old. . Fettuccine Alfredo, chips, key lime pie and 1919 Sundae very good. Pastrami sandwich greasy and lacking some extras. Dark and cozy atmosphere. Great service. Definitely worth a visit but old fashioned food choices not for a true goody!!

Musso & Frank Grill is a restaurant icon which has been around for over a century and we always wanted to dine there but for some reason never had an opportunity. This was our first time dining at Musso & Frank Grill. The place was packed and the decor reminds you of old movies, it is like going back in time; we were surprised seeing couple of phone booths with real phones in them. The hostess and servers provided great service. However, the quality and taste of cocktails, appetizers, salads, the pasta and steaks are a little above average. Also, it is unfortunate when you see few people wearing shorts and t shirts in an iconic restaurant such as Musso & Frank Grill.

Like stepping back in time into a different world. Service was great, food was spectacular and the atmosphere and vibe was classic and charming.

We booked dinner here as a treat for a special family birthday and it did not disappoint. The filet mignon was one of the best we've ever had. The service was 1st class too. Definitely a great experience overall.

Knowing that Musso and Franks Grill has been in many mvies and TV series we always wanted to dine at this restaurant. To be honest I was not thinking that the food and service would be great, but boy were we surprised. The salads, onion soups main courses and deserts were excellent. The Chicken Parm was probably one of the best Chicken Parms we have sampled. The Wednesday special sourbraten was as good as I have sampled in Germany. To top everything off Benjamin the server made the evening.Benjamin has a great personality and wonderful service. The cheese cake for desert is a must. We will come back on the enxt trip to LA,

Classic Hollywood restaurant with the best service I've gotten almost anywhere! Friendliest host and waiters, with an elegant but comfortable old-school atmosphere. The cover photo doesn't do justice to the linen tablecloths, beautiful booths-- a meal to dress up for. The steaks were very good, and the béarnaise sauce was authentic and delicious. Excellent cocktails and again, wonderful, attentive service. A famous haunt for some of Hollywood's early stars like Charlie Chaplin. Highly recommended!

This place is the bomb. Super popular with locals and tourists alike, and for good reason. We started with a drink at the bar while waiting for our table and sat in the exact same spot Leo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Pacino were when filming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood! Then had escargot to start - AMAZING - veal and chicken for mains - MASSIVE portions and so good. You can easily split a main here. Wait and bar staff were incredible. This is now our go to place in Hollywood.

Musso & Frank is an LA institution in dining being 119 years old. It lives up to its billing in all areas: Service, Ambience, Food, and Menu. We celebrated my birthday there and I had the Grenadine of Beef and wedge salad and both were outstanding. We split a creme brulee for dessert and it was also outstanding. Highly recommend.

Stayed in LA for a week and this was probably the best meal. We were able to get seats at the counter and watch them cook the food and see excellent service in action. Lots of great food and beverage choices to choose from, the pasta and meatballs were especially flavorful. Lots of cool history connected to this restaurant, Hollywood legends like Bogart, Bacall, Chaplin, etc. all were regulars at a table or at their famous new room bar. Too much to list here, but just an easy Google or YouTube video away if you want to know more.

Being fans of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, when we visited Los Angeles we wanted to explore more of the classic Hollywood experience of old. Musso and Frank is the established place to go for that old-time Hollywood charm - we booked in advance - being from the UK we chose to dine a little later in the evening but upon arrival at 8pm the dinner service was in full flow and it felt we were one of the last sittings - the main restaurant was packed full and we were seated in a nice but side overflow type of area which was a bit empty of guests, quite cold and we did not feel part of the buzz of the main restaurant which you could clearly hear in this side room and had the feeling of missing out, which was a shame as this was our main reason or choosing the place. Our server was fantastic and gave us the classic American style service we enjoy - he was full of anecdotes from the restaurant and generally chatty about where were from and our trip so far. We did not have a starter - the provided bread was sufficiently filling - we both went for the Fillet Mingon which arrived in a good time to enjoy the evening without being rushed and was cooked perfectly to our liking. The side portions e.g. French Fries are definitely for sharing as they are huge! Similarly with dessert - we ordered one Chocolate Mousse Cake (more like a chocolate fudge cake in the UK) and this was again very large and definitely good to attack with two spoons - so we were pleased that we had chosen to share this. After the meal our server had reserved a space at the bar for us to which we enjoyed some amazing cocktails and spoke with locals & staff and for us made our evening as this was the famous bar featured in the film - service here again was excellent and it was a shame that the bar was closing at 10pm as we would have stayed longer for sure! This was not a 'cheap' evening by any means - but for the food, service, and ambience in the main room, this was well worth it in our opinion. Our dining highlight in LA. If you are looking to experience old American charm, you can't go wrong with booking this place - our 4* is just due to us being seated in the side area, probably our fault for booking too late in the evening (though we did book 2 months in advance)

Great atmosphere, lovely service, fabulous food and a sense of Hollywood history. The food was sensational and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Old school done well. Fabulous decor, amazing food and service. Order the martini, creamed spinach and NY cheesecake! You’ll be satisfied.

We had a reservation for 5, the parking guy checked our vaccine cards and we proceeded to the restaurant. We have been coming here for over 40 years. It definitely should redo the too large menu. The sand dabs and trout used to be something to talk about, now the fish has freezer burn and pasty tasting. 2 New York's were good. The 8oz. filet was overcooked and dry, yuck. Grenadines ok. But, the mashed potatoes, onion rings were very bland. The scalloped potatoes were not sliced , just a bunch of chunks with a gross cream sauce buried under a sea of cheddar cheese. The baked potato was from yesterday or last week, no butter, no cheese and the waiter asked if we wanted it loaded and we said YES. The waiter was very accomodating, but there is nothing he can do about bad tasteless food. Make the menu smaller with fresh seafood that you can create a memorable dish. At these prices, it's just thievery. So sad, quality used to mean something. But, all the men in suits swirling around the restaurant are not helping.

We booked to eat here for the first night of my USA batchelor party. The atmosphere is vibrant yet with a classic feel, service is second-to-none and the food cooked to perfection. The best place to eat when in Hollywood.

This hundred year old restaurant is chockablock with turn of the (20th) century atmosphere, augmented by the red jacketed servers. And the cocktails are just terrific, especially when you're enjoying them at the long wooden bar. Unfortunately, once you are seated at a table you start to get a rushed feeling from your hovering waiter and the dim lighting makes it almost impossible to read the menu without a miner's headlamp. The food itself was nothing special, at least not the escargot or the avacado cocktail or the scallops or the turkey ala king. The latter would have been so much better if the turkey chunks hadn't been precooked and then reheated, which dried them out and severely hardened them. We were also disappointed by the key lime pie, which was so acidic as to be painful on the tongue. All in all, it could have been much better.

We came here after seeing the highly rated reviews from others. The steak was cooked perfectly with a charred outside which really made the steak taste amazing. We shared one portion of fries which were thick cut and very tasty. They almost tasted like English chippy chips. It is a pricy restaurant however you get what you pay for with steak! 🥩

Had dinner here and it exceeded our expectations. The restaurant decor was amazing given its age and history. The service was outstanding and the food was mouth watering. The waiter told us that Harrison Ford dined their the night before. You won’t be disappointed and must visit. Snoopy’s highest review yet.

me on my first date I was figuring out where would be the best romantic dinner, so I got to search and finally I am hear.

Disappointing experience. Got the table 30 minutes after our reservation, one in the company ordered entrees that came with the main. Cold sides for 4 out of 5 people and very different quality on the meat served. All of us had rib eye and 3 had steaks that was tough to eat. Waiters asked us if we wanted to pay before offered dessert. Had several waiters through the evening and had to complain to two of them before we got an answer. Not going back

I'm obsessed with old hollywood and history so this was awesome for me. The building, menu, waiters ect all made it so cool. Great drinks and great food. The steak and the potatoes were both excellent. My favorite thing was the sundae with peanut brittle and bruleed bananas - SOOO GOOD. This was a highlight of our trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! We loved the old school atmosphere with the dark wood and burgundy leather seating. We had a nice 2 top booth that provided some nice privacy. We both ordered the dungeness crab cocktail. Terrific! The cocktail sauce is home made and had great flavor. For our main entrees we ordered a 18 ounce prime rib and a 12 ounce filet. The prime rib was just right temperature wise and very flavorful. One unique thing is this restaurant has been around for 105 years which means they can use the original wood fired grill rather than gas. As a result, the filet had a great mesquite taste. Service was a 10 out of 10. Nick was terrific! Very friendly, attentive and offered excellent recommendations. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend!

Went here for hubby's birthday and noted that in the reservation, they were quite kind to provide not just a happy birthday but an actual card and a dessert. The place is pretty much as described, quite popular and packed, reservations are definitely recommended. The atmosphere is fun and the service quite good. Its labeled steakhouse but the menu is quite a bit more extensive than that and I would have to recommend trying something besides the steak as it was disappointing, the ribeye thin and a little tough, not what I expected at all. The other dishes were quite good. Overall we enjoyed it but again, just don't bother with the steak.

Beautiful environment, historic and well-kept. Delicious meat and attentive service. Prices high but in line with good quality restaurants in the USA.

We didn’t have a reservation but got seats at the bar. We ordered a steak and a salad to share. Both were really good and the steak was cooked to perfection - extremely soft. The martinis could have been served in glasses that were more chilled. Service excellent.

You want to know how old school this place is? Charlie Chaplin ate here regularly. That should tell you something. I love this place. You can definitely feel the history. I love those old classic dishes that most places don't seem to serve any more like lobster thermidor. Don't forget to get the martini too. Properly made, but don't get the house gin (which is Gilbey's), get something better. A must visit if you are in Hollywood.

Musso & Frank is an old Los Angeles, and specifically Hollywood icon, one of the most significant holdouts of an earlier era in a massive city which has lost so much of its earlier heritage. This restaurant, in business since 1919 and the oldest surviving in Hollywood, has changed very little in aesthetic or cuisine over the years. It has a classic old decor and feel, with bar, counter, partly open kitchen area (where you can see their steaks grilled), and numerous booths and tables. There's a lot of dark wood paneling, old frescoes, and more. We have been here several times and always go here at least once whenever we're in Los Angeles, and we have never been disappointed. Waiters wear red jackets and black bow ties, and have done so for years. They provide excellent service. Food and cocktails are overall excellent and very traditional. This is not fancy or avant garde food, but old-fashioned traditional food done well, with dishes remaining unchanged for decades. We particularly love their steaks, their sweetbreads in sauce meuniere, their baked potatoes, potatoes Lyonnaise, and salads. POrtions are large and given everything, the prices are reasonable. Cocktails, such as the traditional Vieux Carre (our go-to drink there) are excellent. To top it off, this place periodically is used for filming in movies such as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Bosch, figuring prominently in both. Fans of those will enjoy that as well.

This was recommended by friends for Martinis. We stopped by on our way back to Downtown Los Angeles for 1 martini. Well, 5 martinis later, we stumbled out. The decor I was told is old Hollywood decor where celebrities used to hang out. I did not see any but I can see this happening. The service is friendly and very old school. I enjoyed the overall experience and highly recommend this place for drinks. Please sit at the bar for the full experience.

My girlfriend and I ate here for her 25th birthday and I made a request for Musso and Franks to do something special for her just around an hour before we got there. They acted quickly and gave her a birthday card and a birthday cake! The food was very good and the restaurant is beautiful! The only reason I didn't give a 5-star review is because our first waiter ended up leaving or something and it took a little while to get a second waiter to help us. Overall the experience was great and I highly recommend them!

My wife and I have eaten here five times and have been delighted each time. We eat here every time we have a staycation at The Hollywood Roosevelt. Musso & Frank is an easy walk from the hotel. The diners line up for the 5:00 opening time and are greeted and seated by the friendly staff. Our server (Alex) was attentive. My wife enjoyed the special of the day: chicken pot pie. Best she's ever eaten in her life, no disrespect to her grandmother. I had a petite filet, and we shared a side of asparagus. Portions are generous, especially the pot pie, and we left with to-go boxes. Our Italian wine was delicious: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (2016).

There’s not much remaining of old Hollywood that’s worth seeing but this restaurant is a must. It’s history is fab and they embrace the old traditions. The service is excellent and food is great. Decent portions and well priced, this makes a nice change from the fast food chains around them. Good choice on the menu and nice bar. Expect to pay about $40 for a plate of dinner. A lovely experience highly recommend.

Iconic, Hollywood place. Quentin Tarantino here shot a key scene with Al pacino, Di Caprio and Brad Pitt! The dishes are good except for pasta... in America it is difficult to get al dente. I had delicious Lyonnaise potatoes, a great fillet, then paired with a cheescake and an apple pie. All very good. Alessio, the Deputy Director was really valuable: exquisite Italian welcome!

Prices may seem a little high, but the quality of the meat is worth every bite! The service is attentive and warm, and the authentic decor, left "in its juice", gives this place a unique and charming atmosphere.

The lobster thermidor was tasty but the button mushrooms could be replaced by some other more flavorful type. Truffle Mac and cheese was bland due to the beschamel lacking depth of flavor. Broccolini was amazing. Steak tartare was good though could have used a cornichon or two. Atmosphere was great. Don’t sit at the bar if you’re over 250 pounds! I’d give it a 3.5 overall.

Each course was better than the last. The service was top shelf. Everything was perfect. The shrimp cocktail and extra horseradish was superb. The cap Ribeye mouthwatering. The other steaks were cooked to perfection. And the desserts were delightful. Yes, it is expensive. But it well worth it. Treat yourself!

This classic steak restaurant needs to be your bucket list for dining in Hollywood! Seriously, it’s 100 years old! Both the food and service were exceptional. Martinis are their specialty, and for good reason… very very good ( we ordered our extra dirty). The Roquefort stuffed celery were great appetizers. Our party enjoyed braised short ribs, filet minion, and prime rib as our entrees. All were memorable. Side dishes were good but not exceptional. The 1919 Sundae is my recommendation for dessert! It’s their version of bananas foster and I dare you to not eat the entire serving. Really good. If you can’t tell… we loved the entire experience.

Very particular place, a real leap into the 1930s. Very friendly staff with the color uniform based on their job. The prices are a little high but the quality is excellent.

Almost walked out. Singular bad moment. We had a reservation for a month. The Maître de tried to seat us a the table right next to the door, where people wait to be seated. At 5:00. With almost an empty restaurant. I politely requested 'anything else' and got a great table. Benjamin was our waiter. We also had an superior waiter's assistant. Martini's were first, and came with a full martini glass, and a small 'extra' amount on ice. Wedge salads were flavorful, plentiful, cold and crisp. My wife's lobster thermidor was loaded with meat in an incredible sauce. My bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly, tender, and filled with flavor. Our sides were onion rings and au gratin potatoes. Both wonderful. So aside from a maître de that didn't have a clue he was in a customer service role, we had a great great dinner coupled with a great dining experience.

One word to describe this , UNDERWHELMING! We were so looking forward to eating here but the food was very bland. Steaks were tender but lacked flavor no sear lacked that crust ! Au gratin potatoes very creamy bland, roasted mushrooms bland.

I would give a 5 if I’d be just evaluating the food or meal . Chicken parmigiana it’s delicious but the portion is for 4 persons ! And the waiter didn’t aware . Because we asked and Christopher just said it was one of his favorite $15 usd for a small side of pasta marinara is ridiculous But the taste of our meals very good

At the end of the holiday, the children wanted a nice plate of pasta. We went here and I must say that they ate a great pasta and meat sauce. We grown-ups instead a great meat. They were very kind because we arrived late and the kitchen was about to close but they made us sit down anyway!! Very nice place

A long-established Los Angeles steakhouse. Italian dishes such as pasta are also served. A popular restaurant that was loved by celebrities and filled with tourists. The proximity to Hollywood Street seems to be the secret to its popularity.

Mythical place in old Hollywood where nothing has changed in decades. The sublime decor is worthy of a film noir. The cuisine is exceptional. Absolutely try the filet mignon with the house sauce and the famous Fettuccine “Alfredo” whose recipe, always the same since the 1920s, was brought back from Italy by Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbank.

hard to believe that this place is 100 years old. We ate in the main part but the bar area seemed more interesting. Service is friendly and generally attentive. Street parking was difficult so go early in the day. Area does not feel very safe later in the day.

This is a great spot for Hollywood glamour. All the waiters are dressed in red suits with gloves. Food was pricey but as expected for this kind of place. Very nice food. I really appreciated the birthday card and treat! Definite mention if it’s your birthday as you will be treated very well. It’s a nice establishment so dress smart.

While on a trip to California celebration a significant wedding anniversary, we booked this restaurant months in advance. It is a very iconic Hollywood restaurant, but we were not sure if it would live up to the hype. It is located on a busy part of Hollywood Blvd, but rather than woring about parking, we took an Uber from Beverly Hills. We arrived slightly early and they asked that we wait while they prepared the table. The restaurant has two main rooms, the original restaurant and the additional adjacent room, added some years later. Both looked nice, but we were in the original room in a booth near the back door. It was already feeling special. Our waiter was very informative, not only on the food/wine, but also on the history of the restaurant, including some of the famous clientele. Our food and drinks arrived in a reasonable time and everything was delicious. It was as expensive as I expected it to be, but 100% worth it for the experience as we felt truly looked after.

From the crazy valet to the fudge brownie - this place is just the best - step back in time to the days of gracious reception, great and plentiful food and wonderful service and you will often have to punch yourself that a wonderful restaurant is there for us - Bravo!!!

Old Hollywood restaurant with classic dishes. Came here for Father's Day and made a reservation online in advance. Indoor seating only. They have a paid parking lot in the back or you can try your luck with street parking. Credit cards accepted. The ambiance was unique with the waiters in red jackets serving their sections. They provided complimentary bread but we got the garlic toast as well to try it, and it was nice and buttery. I had the original fettucine alfredo and added chicken for an additional $7. My dad tried lamb kidneys for the first time and really enjoyed it. The spaghetti was standard, and my sister thought her seafood risotto was solid. I would eat here more so for the experience than the actual food, but overall it was an interesting spot.

As one of Hollywood’s most famous restaurants we had to give this a try and it did not disappoint. From the red leather booths to the friendly staff, this is a must visit. The food also lives up to the theatre, the roasted pork chop and the Fettuccini Al Fredo did not disappoint. Another recommendation is the Steak Tartare to start and the cocktails are all excellent

If you want to go to an epicenter of the Hollywood golden era history, Musso & Frank Grill should most definitely be on your list. To compliment the experience, head to a film screening or play at the Egyptian, Pantages or Chinese Theaters following dinner. Be sure to make a reservation well in advance here as it totally books up even on the weeknights as early as 5P. Don't expect to be able to just grab a table by walking in as even the bar/counter service is packed by 5:30P. The interior will take you back to Hollywood circa 1919 as it has never had an interior refurbishment. The service is outstanding and attentive and the menu is traditional steak house. As I don't eat meat, I ordered the Branzino ($40) which was served on a bed of Arugula and topped with roasted pistachio gremolata. It was just OK, not a big win in my opinion. The Wedge Salad ($18) was traditional but also not the best that I've ever had. The baked potato ($14) was as expected and perfectly roasted. The prices lean on the expensive side. Items really add up here including any sauce at ~$9 each which is pretty absurd at a steak place to be honest. A visit here is definitely a must but the return has to be earned. Valet parking located in the rear off Cherokee - 90 minutes validated free and then it jumps to $$$ immediately after. Keep in mind the surrounding area is pretty disgusting - far far far from the golden era of Hollywood. Expect to be greeted by the strangest homeless people on earth complete with strong stench of urine. Yes, welcome to Hollywood where they apparently could care less about image anymore. How sad.

We had the pleasure of sitting at the counter and watching Grill Master Jose Gomez work his magic for about 2 hours. It was a treat. He was grilling steaks and fish and just look at the picture of the full grill. Meanwhile, waiters were walking past him with the patients of a Saint because no one interrupts the Chef while he is doing his work. It's an experience you won't get anywhere else, but Musso & Frank. Go to the counter and watch Chef work while you have a terrific meal.

Michael Connely and his hero Harry Bosch’s favourite restaurant Franck & Musso deserves everything they say. The bar and the room are kindly and very competently run, the kitchen and especially the meats are worth the trip. In short I recommend very warmly Be careful the prices are local and therefore very much above our European habits

I have been to a lot of steak places, but this was a great one. My friend and I ordered filet mignons. Chris, our waiter, was attentive, prompt, and very helpful. We split a baked potato. The bottle of Cab from the wine list was excellent. We sat at the bar as we did not have reservations. Only downside was the noise for this vintage man’s hearing aids. Great food and service.

We ate a lot and well on our trip, but the beef fillet was fried to the point we wanted. The side dishes excellent and a service like you were used to 50 - 60 years ago. Attentive yet discreet. The right place to finish the last day of your holiday culinary. If you reserve you have your place on safe otherwise they can be turned away or put off for a longer wait. Centrally located. Good food and service comes at a price. A restaurant not for Every evening but definitely for a great occasion.

Top notch restaurant! A wonderful place filled with history and old school charm. The staff is amazingly attentive and on point. The food is excellent with a plethora of choices as is the wine menu. Every course was outstanding. We ordered cups of soup and entrees (Fettuccine Alfredo and Tagliatelle Bolognese) and a side of asparagus. We drank an old fashioned, two glasses of wine and for dessert we had the Musso & Frank Torten with Limoncello and black Sambuca. Our waiter was the best waiter I have ever had. He knew the complete menu and described everything he served us as well as offering complete descriptions of items he suggested. He came around at exactly the right times and provided us the privacy of dining. Overall it was a truly special experience in one of the most iconic dining establishments in all of Hollywood.

Best steaks of the holiday in beautiful old Hollywood style venue. Super suggestive location. Very high prices but compatible with location and quality.

Have always wanted to try this restaurant but was a bit worried if it would be worth it. We were pleasantly surprised and loved our meal and the historic dining experience! We were seated in a front booth promptly at our 8:30 reservation time. We were greeted warmly but the front desk too. Classic cocktails arrived promptly. Excellent service and we all enjoyed the meal of prime rib, rib eye, cap of rib eye (delicious and had never heard of before, tender and much more flavorful than fillet minion) and enormous baked potatoes and delicious mushrooms. Steak was perfectly prepared. All in all a nice festive dining experience! Will definitely be back!

My wife and I had a fantastic experience on our recent trip to LA at Musso and Frank. My steak tartare was fantastic as a starter as was my wife's shrimp cocktail. For Mains we went for the rib eye steak and liver with various side dishes all of which were great. The service was great as was the red wine, we really liked the atmosphere and the look of this restaurant and would defiantly return if we were in the area.

105 Years of Tradition (since 1919), the oldest in Hollywood If you're here as a tourist, you should come to a place like this with a clear feeling of a tourist destination. Even if it's a little more expensive than a local popular restaurant, the tourist restaurant like this also presents big fun. It is the one Charlie Chaplin also liked and it is the first restaurant in Holywood with history and tradition. - Reservation essential. - It's a lot, so order a little bit - Valet parking available - I recommend you to watch the sunset at Greenpeace Observatory or Hollywood sign on the same day Waiters serve classic American fare & martinis to diners in red booths at Hollywood's oldest eatery.

We had a 5 star experience here on their first night open since closing due to COVID-19. The service and staff are what made it 5 star for us. We were visiting and staying at the Roosevelt and when I saw they were reopening, I was able to nab a 10PM reservation. We were greeted warmly, and the staff were properly equipped for COVID-19 precautions. They put us in a lovely roomy booth... the dining room with a rich, dark, days-gone-by vibe. They presented us with a really sweet card thanking us for coming in on their first night re-opened. That by itself made it special. We ordered champagne (Palmer) and a ton of food - Caesar salad, lobster thermidor, prime rib, fettuccine Alfredo, Brussels sprouts... and of course desert. The food was so tasty! Neither of us being huge 'fettuccine Alfredo fans' we still ordered it given the history of their recipe. Seriously, it was probably our favorite thing. It was SO good and the pasta obviously handmade. I have literally never had fettuccine Alfredo THAT good. For desert we could not decide and we told our server to pick. He did NOT do us wrong. He brought a lovely looking piece of classic cheesecake. Now mind you, neither of us are cheesecake fiends but O-M-G if this was not the best cheesecake I have ever tasted. Super light and scrumptious. He told us that apparently it is the only desert they do NOT make in-house, as years ago Frank Sinatra a common patron told them to order it from this place in San Francisco. I could go on about our experience here last Friday evening... but hands down the staff here is what made it over the top special. We were so well taken care of.

This is a great restaurant. It is old and it feels that way inside - in a good way - nostalgic. The service was excellent. The food was great - the server recommended steaks off the grill so that is what we did, the side of Mac n cheese was superb. They have valet parking odd of Cherokee that is $14 with validation. Even though it is in one of the busiest and most touristy parts of town, it doesn’t feel that way inside. It is a little food escape from the doldrums if the outside world.

This is the must-go restaurant in Los Angeles. The history of the restaurant as long as 100 years! it will not let you down.

Had drinks at the bar the first night - great fun. Went back for a late post concert dinner - kitchen was just closing but Leonardo kept it open and we sat at the counter. Service was fantastic - wine choice brilliant - but the food was exceptional - calves liver and fillet - liver was perfect. A great fun and quality Italian - a proper restaurant in an otherwise shabby location.

As soon as you enter you have the impression of going back in time a century. Local located on Hollywood bd right on the walk of fame, very cozy, purposely maintained in retro style. Friendly and friendly staff, fast service despite the Saturday night crowds. We sat down without Reservation around 10pm after a short wait for the tables to clear. Famous for meat and not by chance. We had a ribeye steak and a New York steak, both delicious, perfect cooking and excellent quality. Prices quite high, unfortunately in line with the dearest California.

This is an old classic Hollywood restaurant. Everything we ordered was terrific. Two of us had the prime rib and it was huge and cooked perfectly. One had the oyster stew and it was brimming with plump oysters and was so tasty. The service is perfect. Parking is behind the restaurant and is $14 if you get the ticket validated. Otherwise it is $25. You need reservations because they are very busy.

I had an incredible dining experience at Musso & Frank Grill. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was charmingly nostalgic, with a warm and inviting ambiance that transported us to another era. The dishes—Mac n cheese, baked potatoes, mushrooms, chicken, or Turkey A La King—were delicious. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that our dining experience was not only enjoyable but also memorable.

We had reservations and were seated promptly. We dressed up (jackets, nice jeans, no ties) which turned out to be a little overdressed. Others had sweats, sleeveless T-shirts, ball caps, etc. So if you're looking for a classy place where customers tidy up for a nice meal, keep your expectations low. Service was fine - maybe a bit rushed. We got our cocktails right away and had barely started them when our salads arrived. Entrees were also on our table quickly so it wasn't a leisurely meal (maybe 1 hour total). We ordered a pork chop (thick and tasty), liver steak (good if you like liver), au gratin potatoes (undercooked, not soft), and creamed spinach (too much cream, not enough spinach). Prices weren't too bad - expensive but not outrageous. Atmosphere was fine. The valet parking staff were frowning and unfriendly - maybe it's a tough job?

The food is exquisite, huge range of dishes. Everything we had was cooked to perfection and the service was amazing. A must do if you are nearby.

Not what it used to be. Now sadly just a tourist destination. The service was rictus smile friendly like a robot. He was also pushy and constantly attempting to flog the items. In the end this becomes irritating. The management was just plain rude and unhelpful. The meal felt rushed like they couldn't wait to get another customer. The food was distinctly average. You're going for the history. It's a terrific looking old restaurant, but whoever now owns it, should treasure it and consider how it is run. The place feels like it has lost the magic and pizazz it once had. You essentially feel like you're on a conveyor belt at a ride in Disney Land. It's not all that different from dealing with the street hucksters outside Grauman's Theatre, just waiting to fleece you.

Musso and Frank has been around since 1919 and I'm a bit embarrassed to say this was my first visit. Our family's go-to for iconic retro restaurants was the gone-but-not-forgotten Pacific Dining Car closer to DTLA (opened in 1921). Musso's Hollywood location is now extremely gritty, the street teeming with tourists, loiterers, unhoused and souvenir shops. They have a security guard/doorman at the front entrance; I witnessed a car crash right in front after exiting. But inside, you are transported back to another era, with classic décor and red or green-jacketed servers. There are front and back entrances. I waited at the rear entrance from the parking lot with a small crowd of others, and we all walked through the dining room to the front host stand to check in. There are 2 main dining rooms, plus another for private events. The first room has a few rows of booths plus a bar/counter with low seats that faces the open grill and food prep areas. The second room has both booths and tables plus a bar (with high bar seats) that's more for drinks, although I saw some guests eating there. This bar gets very crowded, with some guests standing behind those seated. I was seated in this room; the bar is partially partitioned from the dining area. Musso's menu offers classic steakhouse fare plus a wide variety of seafood (cold and hot), Italian entrees (including the "original fettucine alfredo") and classics such as chicken/turkey a la king and Welsh rarebit, and of course their famous Flannel Cakes (a cross between a crepe and a pancake). They also have a daily featured dish. I ordered abundantly and had lots of leftovers. I ordered: a zero-proof Roadrunner drink, avocado salad, Welsh rarebit, chicken pot pie (the Thursday daily feature), a side of creamed spinach and the flannel cakes with syrup for dessert. The avocado salad was large and fine, the beets and olives were probably canned. Nice house dressing (French). The Welsh rarebit was classic with a bit of tang, topped with a grilled tomato slice and bacon with madeleine-like cornbread alongside. The pot pie was also classic, with a nice crust on top, but the filling could have used a bit more seasoning. The creamed spinach tasted fresh. The flannel cakes were dark and nutty; they are also offered with fruit and whipped cream or yogurt. Although I did not mention it, the restaurant knew I had a recent birthday (I think from my Open Table profile) and gave me a card and a brownie a la mode. My waiter was professional but not as outgoing as others I noticed. The busser was on the grumpy side. Overall a nice experience; I would definitely return, perhaps trying a seat at the food counter.

Whenever we are in LA we dine here. We made a reservations months ahead. Despite this we still waited 15mins and feared we had been forgotten in the waiting mob. Once seated we had a great booth and fabulous wait attention by Nick (he was great). My steak was cooked perfectly..as expected. See you next time!

I had an early dinner at Musso & Frank's. The quality of the food served was alright but not amazing. Lobster salad, rib-eye steak and cheesecake: all correct but not extraordinary. As a European, I am always shocked to see how early they start to eat dinner in the USA and how they rush you through your dinner: I was out after 90 minutes (I understand the commercial logic behind this, but I will never accept it). Service, by contrast, was absolutely exceptional. Overall, not sure if I'd come back again .. But then again, finding better value for money in LA would most probably be difficult!

We wanted to try this place but couldn’t get a reservation-so sat at bar. They have a limited bar menu that allows you to have the experience with out a huge price. Loved it!

It was worth booking, and admittedly we mentioned that it was a birthday occasion. It was soon clear that a few other diners were also to receive the envelope with a birthday message and the chocolate brownie and ice cream with lit candle as a treat. A surprise to us: but the routine nature of it didn’t diminish the enjoyment thereof. ( The brownie was superb, by the way.) We chose to revisit this place on our second LA visit because we had before so much enjoyed the history, decor, details, and the excellent food and service. In an age when modern restaurants vie for tweaking and adding numerous (usually tiny) taste touches it is a joy to get a piece of fish beautifully grilled and unadorned with superfluous features. Thank you Musso and Frank for sustaining such excellent food and ambience.

Well. I LOVE this gem of old Hollywood. The meats on point. Atmosphere and Service…you just feel like a character out of the “Godfather” in the old days who is visiting their club. I just wish they would take a little more time for you to breathe in the full experience. Not even 45min passed by and we were offered the (great) dessert menu. Other than that : Go and bring your parents and the whole Famiglia !!!!

Full of history and lore, this classy step back in time is worth the wait and effort to get a reservation. The Ragout was A+, the Pork Chop and Fettuccine Alfredo both Varsity Efforts and the service (Benjamin) was first class. I place this joint in the Top 10 of my global dining experiences.

Iconic, and worth the wait, my wife and I ate here recently on a date night. You can find a lot of places that will sell you a martini that is a little pricey ($18-20), but these are worth it. Well made, flavorful and chilled. We both ordered Ribeye steaks and neither of us could finish, but they were cooked very well and were so delicious! Tables are close to each other so this is not an intimate setting, but it is one that is filled with laughter. Every table was filled. Service was exceptional by the staff. We had wanted to come here for years but had not gotten around to it and we were so happy we did. Absolutely lives up to its reputation. Proof of vaccination was required.

Glad I tried it but not sure if it was anything amazing. I give the ambiance a 5 out of 5. Service a little slow but friendly. Food was good but nothing special. Prime rib was perfect medium rare and huge slab but kind of one note. I could have used a much heavy crust of seasoning. Also says it was served with au jus which I did not get. I was expecting a little gravy boat of broth. Baked potato same thing under seasoned and could have used more butter. Creamed spinach solid. Honestly the $69 price for an 18 ounce cut and it being Hollywood was a fair price. I sat at countertop where you can see the grill master. Seats at counter are a bit crowded.

I took my daughter and granddaughters here to further experience old Hollywood glamour and they got a real kick out of it. The food was really good, the service was exceptional and the bill was outrageous. The restaurant has been a staple of the area for many, MANY years and has been a go to for Hollywood’s elite for ages. It’s been featured in many movies and still looks the same.

Was really looking forward to eat at this classic restaurant, but was immediately dissapointed. Very crowded and noisy, felt like eating in a canteen. Felt rushed by our not so friendly waiter. Food was ok but not at a level I expect in a nicer place.

We had a lovely meal at Musso. After luckily finding a last minute reservation they even allocated us a booth as it was our honeymoon celebration. The meal itself was delicious & each dish was crafted beautifully! The specialist Martini’s were very tasty too. Hats off to our sever on the night who was exceptional and very warm and friendly with lots of character! Thank you so much also for the surprise cake at the end for our wedding celebration. Overall highly recommended and we throughly enjoyed the night!

This famous historic restaurant is such an L.A. icon that we went in with low expectations figuring that it was touristy and/or was resting on its laurels. Wrong! We loved everything about this restaurant. The well uniformed servers were impeccable. The impression is that servers stay meaning not a lot of staff turnover. You’re encouraged to relax and enjoy. The ambiance is old Hollywood full of soft lighting, carved wood and leather seating. Bread & butter are still complimentary! The filet mignon with potatoes lyonnaise was the best we’ve had in a long time. The friendly manager walked around making sure all diners were having a wonderful experience. We highly recommend dining here.

You feel transported to Hollywood in the 40s - the staff are exceptionally friendly and cool and the food - a steak at its finest with side dishes and a few glasses of excellent cabernet was a revelation - when visiting Los Angeles, a visit to MUSSO&FRANK is just mandatory - 5 stars

Decent dinner of grilled salmon and sea bass. The bread they serve at first is cold and what is even colder is the air conditioning coming from everywhere right on your neck. However, the staff is friendly.

We had excellent food in a fantastic atmosphere. Great wine selection and excellent service. Despite not having booked in advance we were seated immediately.

went for a business dinner during the academy awards. Hollywood blvd was shut down and loaded with police. but musso and franks stood the rest of time. oldest restaurant in hollywood and the food and service proved the reason they are in business a guaranteed good time

Fantastic! Dinner was terrific, ambience was great. Our waiter Theo was amazing and we appreciate the complimentary desert as we were celebrating our honeymoon! A definite recommend!

The martinis are dry, ( comes w/ a sidecar - little extra glass ) the steaks are perfectly charred. ( The secret is the charcoal grill and they are smoke seared ) and the history is legendary

Our waiter at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel recommended this and said it was a classic old Hollywood restaurant and it was! It has been in movies and has a stories history with both literary and Hollywood actors. Their Wedge Salad, steaks and cheesecake were all really good. Their Pasta Alfredo is some thing they are known for and we tried it but it was not that great. But everything else made up for it The service is impeccable and very accommodating and gave great recommendations and they treated us very well and gave us some history of the restaurant.
Must go to Musso and Franks
This was an absolutely fabulous experience. It is like stepping back in time. There are white linen table cloths, waiters in red jackets and fantastic service. The atmosphere is lively and fun. The food was excellent and cocktails were first rate. The food was amazing and there are items on the menu that I have not seen in years. If you want a feel for Old Hollywood you must try this place out.
