We absolutely loved every single item on our collective plates! We reserved our table on OpenTable and noted we were there for a celebratory dinner before going to see Swan Lake at the ballet. Everyone in our party of four was very pleased with the offerings which is sometimes difficult to find for a vegan, a vegetarian and 2 omnivores. Our server was top notch and was incredibly attentive to all of our individual dietary restrictions and needs. For appetizers, we had the spicy edamame (spice on the side for the vegan because of oyster sauce), chickpea panisse (FANTASTIC!!!), green peppers, and sweet potato tempura (husband still raving). For dinner, we had seared scallops, chicken teriyaki, vegetable fried rice, SuperFly vegan (LOVED LOVED LOVED) and the vegetable sushi (SPECTACULAR). For the birthday girl, they brought out tempura ice cream and everyone about squealed in delight both before and after tasting that gem. We wil be back! Superior service and food from start to finish!

Great food. Great buzz. We went for a Saturday night date night and loved the food and atmosphere. We are heading back with friends in tow this week!

The cuisine is Asian and there is a lot of variety, including vegetarian options. The Lunch menu is particularly appealing. There is also a sushi bar.

I traveled to Dallas for business in November 2019 and scheduled a dinner at Musume for Monday, November 11, 2019. Since it was a Monday, the restaurant was very quiet. But the dinner was great! Great service, great food! A lot of various and interesting dishes on the menu. I also loved that our server was willing to be honest about what he liked and disliked in terms of wine and food choices -- I've found this to be rare, and it is something I really appreciate! Next time I'm in Dallas, I will keep Musume on my list as a good dinner option.

Musume is by far my husband and I’s most favorite place to go eat in Dallas. The service is great and the food is amazing. We have had something different each time we go and it is all just awesome. This last time my husband and I just ordered a variety of different sushi’s and appetizer dishes to come out a different time and we loved it. I have to highly recommend the shrimp dynamite and the lobster fried rice. Both are my fav!! Oh and this last time we ordered the espresso creme brûlée that was soooo good.

Love everything about this place! The ambiance is tremendous: great vibe, beautiful decoration, music selection is spot on. The food is one of the best in Dallas. Sake and wine list is robust with several affordable options. The owner is a gentleman, a true host, super nice and caring. He stops at pretty much every single table to say hello and check how are you enjoying the experience. Good for groups but also for a night out with my girlfriends or a cool dinner with husband. Highly recommend it.

Visiting from Asia. We ate at Musume on a Friday night over the summer after attending a performance in the Arts and Theater district of Dallas, a lovely wide open neighborhood with great architecture, complemented by the beautiful church, Cathedral Guadalupe, which is across the road from the restaurant. Worth visiting. Musume has a nice bar area by the front windows. Seeing their enormous range of sake, we asked for something light and chilled, and the friendly bartender recommended "Pearls of Simplicity”, which was perfect. The food was excellent - a blend of Japanese with western influence. We had read in a review somewhere that the chef is half Japanese and specialized in French cuisine earlier in his career; it showed. We loved the miso cod (personal favorite); the duck confit sitting on black rice that has a kind of dark soy/oyster sauce flavor; super fresh tuna, yellowtail and salmon sashimi; ikura with quail egg served in an Asian spoon; lamb cutlets -tender and juicy with lots of flavor. We’d also asked for a selection of green vegetables cooked Asian style; these came perfectly al dente and lightly flavored with garlic. To finish, we had Musume’s house- made green tea and strawberry mochi, which were to die for. Stayed with our Pearls of Simplicity sake throughout the meal and that seemed right! Easily one of the nicest places we ate at in Dallas. The other we recommend is Sixty Vines, where we had an amazing lunch.

As we had been to this place before, my wife and me ordered some food online last weekend. 2 of 3 dishes missing.(But this is not the real issue). Delivery guy called the restaurant in front of me and some guy who said to be the owner: Josh Babb, insisted in very bad manners that the only way this could happen was because the delivery guy may have opened the sealed bag and got the food for him to eat it. I couldn't stand listening to such false accusation and took action telling him this wasn't true, trying to make sure the owner understood how shocked we were, not only this delivery guy but also me. The reaction of "Josh Babb" was to yell at me, being agressive and sooo rude, and finally ending the call. This was so frustrating!!!! Of course, back home I called again. Same bad manners, no apologize. I 'm not giving my money to people like this and you shouldn't either.

Decided to go and experience a mid week treat! Started with a great conversation with the Bartender who surprised me with a drink called " Cherry Blossom"- so creamy and delicious. I noticed the beautiful artwork around the museum that really made the visit special. THe food was to DIE FOR. I started with the Hot Mess then sampled the lamb chops, lobster, and duck! Definitely a treat and worth a trip back for date night!

If you are going to the Dallas Arts District and are hankering for Japanese food, Musume is convenient. They offer a selection of dishes from the sushi bar as well as hot dishes from the kitchen. You can order small plates as well as full size entrees. I chose four smaller plates to share: boar gyoza, pork special appetizer of the day, rainbow roll, and spicy tuna roll. They were all quite tasty and satisfying, although a bit higher priced than equivalent Japanese restaurants in other parts of town. Musume boasts a sake menu of over 100 kinds, from low to high end. You’ll be able find something that suits your budget and taste. They also mix interesting cocktails using sake and Japanese whiskey.

The food is diverse with specials, small plates, sushi, sashimi and more. Best to eat family style and share whatever comes out. They were packed on a Sunday night and we would have had a better night if we heeded this advice from the manager.

We were excited to try this place in the heart of the Dallas Theater District. Impressive design but the space is extreemly noisy and very difficult to hold a conversation. Cocktails seemed to take a while and came at different times and our waitress seemed to dissapear for a while. Impressive Sake menu. Food was tasty and well presented but nothing seemed to impress. Very expensive so I guess I expected more. Overall, not a place I shall return to. There is better food and much more zen sushi place a few blocks away in One Arts Plaza.

After a DSO performance, we stepped in for a bite in the bar area. Ordered tempura green beans with spicy aioli and spicy edamame. Both were delicious!! Can't speak to the rest of the menu, or the cocktail selection, but our choices were winners. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Too bad there are two large TVs in the bar... happens to be a pet peeve of mine as I can't seem to avoid being sucked into watching whatever happens to be within my line of vision. Real conversation killer!

Simply out of convenience before attending the symphony at the Meyerson, we walked across the street to have dinner at Musume. A great find! We shared Black Cod appetizer with miso marinade — wonderful; the lobster and fried rice — marvelous; the halibut and black rice — incredible. It is all expensive. But when the food is outstanding, it takes the sting out of the price. Trendy atmosphere, excellent service. Will return.

First I have to mention, I am a world traveler who likes to try different cousins everywhere I land. I was invited to a birthday dinner at this place and on the outside looking in, I was pretty excited. Once we got in, mentioning that we had reservations for 9pm, a snotty hostess addressed with us that the wait time will be 30 to 45 minute. Than, we had to ask so why we had a reservation made? She ran to the manager who came storming from the back, he was even more abnoxius than his hostes. He suggested calling a police because we needed some simple answers ! At this point I was hopeful that his good food will make us happy again. My Thai soup was watered down and spicy, although I like spicy it was not tollarated. My $8 shrimp dynamite appeared to be 1 small shrimp with leafy decoration. Once I have made up my mind to put a smile at my face through the good ( very limited..good music. .good ambiance) and the bad, ..just for the birthday girl sake..we received a text 3 minutes after we left from the so called "Manager" asking us to never come back again". The audacity and the extra step he took did it for me. There are many other restaurants where you can got your money worth!

Got there early on a Friday night - saw the people pile in. We had a reservation (highly recommended) Atmosphere brought me back to my Tokyo trips...! Big time...! Great selection of Sake - good cuisine and Toro sushi. Service was excellent and then came the surprise - after paying the bill I asked one of the managers where the boss was off to - as I said I wanted to thank the owner and to tell him what a good job the waitress did. Booom - we are off -- being led through the kitchen to their speak easy - in back. NICE Pricey but fair value - the atmosphere adds tons.

A bunch of us went to eat here to eat. Our reservation wasn't listed but they seated us anyway. All the girls were freezing so they asked to adjust the air. The place was nice, service good, but for how expensive it was we all felt like it was just ok. We were expecting super fine dining. I had the sushi but the servings were so small I had to order double. I could have gotten the same thing elsewhere for half the price. Being around good friends is always fun - but next time we'll try somewhere else. Extremely ok

We meet every other week to try a restaurant we haven't been to. We were NOT disappointed with Musume. One of my friends is Japanese even he was impressed. I would suggest you get at least 2 dishes from each section of the menu and share. I'm positive you will find many new favorites from the Japanese style. You really can't go wrong with any selection. ENJOY ~

Genuinely one of the worst bar/restaurant experiences I've had in years: service, food, drinks all atrocious. Sat at the bar, which had tons of dirty glassware around, despite not being busy (6:30pm on a Wednesday). No one greeted me or offered a cocktail menu. There was a food menu at my place, so I browsed for a bit, intending to order dinner after a drink. After five minutes with no interaction, a barback came up and asked if I was ready to order food. No hello, no asking if I had any questions, no suggestion to order a drink. I asked for a cocktail menu, and then it took 10 full minutes for him to come back and ask if I was ready to put in a drink order. Again-- no "do you have a questions," "what looks good," or any attempt to engage. There were maybe 5 other patrons at a bar that seats easily 10-12 people, so it's not like it was busy. Neither the barback nor the bartender made any effort to consistently clear the dirty glassware at their stations. It took another 10-12 minutes for what is perhaps the most disappointing drink I've had in years to arrive. Utterly flat tasting, boring, and was $23. TWENTY-THREE DOLLARS for a garbage cocktail. Incredible. Then, I ordered food-- chicken teriyaki and wok-fried okra on the side. Neither were listed or described as spicy or had a chili icon or anything next to them. When my food arrived, the okra was inedibly spicy. The chicken teriyaki was as well. The chicken was reasonably tender, but incredibly bland white breast meat. The vegetables that accompanied it were absolutely, utterly average. The teriyaki sauce itself was bland except for the excess spiciness-- no discernable mirin or honey taste, cheap soy sauce flavor, etc. Incredibly disappointing. That dish, which was at the level of a cheap food court meal, was $36. The barback had the gall to ask if I was going to check out their speakeasy after this terribly gross and disappointing experience. Not only would I not go back, but I wouldn't even want a drink at the speakeasy despite being a fan of great cocktails. Literally one of the worst dining experiences I've had in AGES. Horrible, overpriced, garbage service-- a genuine waste of money and time. I wish I'd gone literally anywhere else.

The place is located just in front of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The ambient is relaxed and cool. Food is good with some good Japanese options like fresh sashimi.

We first tried Musume on a recommendation from our hotel. My wife and I are branching out our dinning ever sense a food tour we were on in Las Vegas. So we took the recommendation for a different style of food. We are glad we did, this review comes after our 4th visit to Musume. We have tried more than 12 dishes from the menu and have loved everyone of them.I highly recommend Musume for an unforgettable experience.

Initially the atmosphere made me really excited that we were trying this place. My first cocktail was good (Satsuma to me) but my partner’s drink was nothing more than some mango juice. We enjoyed the lobster bisque and the steamed pork buns however the sushi roll was grossly overpriced (cucumber and crab roll > $20 for 5 pieces, see photo). The miso apple spicy yam was disappointing; it was literally a baked yam with sour cream and covered in sriracha sauce (it also comes with a fork...how does classify as Japanese?) Overall this “fusion restaurant” failed to deliver; no need for pickles on pork buns, no need for sour cream baked sweet potato, nice bisque but no semblance to Japanese cuisine. Cost breakdown: soup (appetizer), 1 “sushi roll”, pork buns, yam (side dish), 4 drinks was > $120.

It is priced a bit high, but the menu offerings are exceptional and original. This is a convenient location to the Meyerson, Winspear, Wyly, and Moody, among others. We will return.

I recommended lunch with two friends at Musume. The food and service was acceptable but nothing special. The surprise came a few weeks later when I got my credit card statement. The server wrote his own tip amount in. When I spoke to a Musume owner, he laughed at me for reporting the credit card abuse to him. All customers should expect dishonesty at Musume since management condones credit card abuse. Spend at your own risk.

I am well-familiar with Japanese food and sushi bars in particular. On a short business trip I selected Musume (which in Japanese means "daughter") primarily due to its proximity to the Meyerson Symphony Hall, across the street. While waiting for a place at the sushi bar and having a drink (a well-mixed Old Fashioned), I learned from other guests that this restaurant is fairly new. We were taken to our seats at the sushi bar and given several voluminous menus. For a sushi bar this isn't a good sign - sushi should be offered and prepared based on what's fresh and available. A fixed menu indicates that freshness and chef judgement isn't a primary criteria. I always like to start with some mixed sashimi to get a sense of the chef skills as well as the freshness of the fish. We didn't find any such dish on the menu but the chef assured us it is available. After a lengthy wait we were presented a good looking selection of four different fish along with the usual sides. Three of the fish were good tasting, the tuna (a sushi bar staple) was not. The fish wasn't sliced very well and the thickness of each piece (which should be uniform) was not. And it was all a little skimpy when we found out later this medium-sized dish cost $80! Several standard items for a sushi bar were NOT available - salmon skin, Izuri, and anago being the most egregious. We did have a California roll, but this was made with some kind of chopped up mix of unknown origin instead of the usual pieces of fish, avocado, and crab meat that should make up a quality roll. Not good. After chatting with the chef who seemed to have limited knowledge of Japanese cuisine, it was revealed that the asian staff in the restaurant were primarily Thai. There seemed to be NO Japanese there at all. I always believe that any ethnic restaurant should have some management or staff of that ethnicity. The meal was far too pricy for what was served. I visit Dallas often, but won't be going back to Masume.

We ordered take out from Musume, the customer service was excellent and even on a busy Saturday night, they were wonderful. The sushi was incredible - fresh, interesting flavor combinations, and delicious! Inside the restaurant was a lively bar scene, with cool cocktail options - everything you want in a trendy, but welcoming downtown restaurant!

Love the location of this restaurant's location, which is in the heart of the Dallas Arts District. Looking at our options, we decided to give Musume a try prior to an engagement at the Winspear Opera House. The decor is great, and I love the stylish dress of the team members. Based on the visuals, I think they do a great job with working together to enhance the customer experience. We enjoyed a couple of appetizers and some sushi during our visit. No complaints with the taste, although I thought the pieces of nigiri were rather small when factoring in the cost. We're looking forward to a return visit to try the cocktails and/or sake.

Close to the theater we were attending, went to explore the menu. The items we were most interested in were the small plates. Ordered six small plates to share. Each one was perfect in size for sharing. Two of the favorites were the lamb lollipops and the wild boar pot stickers. Great selection of speciality cocktails. Had a great waiter and attentive staff. We couldn’t resist hitting the gong on the way out, we felt it meant we were happy with the experience.

My friends and I stopped in before attending a lecture at the DMA. It was nice to be able to walk to the restaurant from the museum. We shared several small plates as the waiter suggested. He promised he wouldn’t let us over order. He made a few suggestions and we enjoyed everything. They make nice cocktails.

The best meal I have ever had. From decorations to service to food, everything was amazing. Our table was so stuffed, we thought we may need to be rolled out to our vehicles! Our server, Madi, went above and beyond making the experience even better. She was able to answer all of our questions, gave amazing food and drink recommendations but most importantly she cared for our table. She made sure we were enjoying our time. Could not recommend this place enough and our server Madi! I will be back for sure!

This review would be 4 stars if it weren't for the non-existent service. I've eaten 3-5 times now and overall, the food ranges from solid to delicious. The asian fusion menu, leaning heavily towards Japanese is very interesting. Sushi has been fresh and mostly well-prepared (sometime the rice is too soft) and the cooked fish dishes are great. Tempura is very good and I appreciate the sake selection. The have rotating specials which keeps things interesting. The service however, ranges from decent to unacceptable. This past weekend, we had to walk out after being seated for 20 minutes and no server ever spoke to us or made eye contact with us. We were given water right away after being seated, but that's where the service ended. It was after 9pm and the place was not completely full. Perhaps they were understaffed... Still, we watched all the tables around us be spoken to many times and watch a manager prance around looking at tables and no one acknowledged us, ever. I doubt we will ever return which is a shame given the lack of options in this area.

We were starving when we came to this place . Normally when you were starving every meal would tasted heavenly but not this time. We ordered quite a bit ; black cod misozuke , shrimp tempura , classic sushi and sashimi , specialty rolls such as hot mess and white dragon and lobster fried rice . We voted that we liked the fried rice the most . But .. well, you never go wrong with fried rice anyway 😊

I work close by, and Musume is one of my go to places for business lunch, and I have eaten dinner there recently as well. The food is excellent. The lunch is really a good value, with both Tsukiji (sushi / sashimi) Bento and Salaryman (steak or chicken over rice) bento boxes providing a delicious large and extremely tasty lunch, for $15 (about the price of a burger and fries at one of the food trucks at Klyde Warren Park) is a restaurant with a wonderful decor. On occasion I have found the service a little lacking -- never rude but a little indifferent at the hostess desk. But most of the servers are very good and I've never had a 'bad' service experience, just not the level of service I generally receive (and expect) from Musume and other nice restaurants.

This was actually our second time to eat here but I forgot to write a review the first time. We absolutely love the food! Their lobster appetizer is incredible. The lobster fried rice is amazing! Will definitely be going back!

Maybe my standards are too high, coming from Houston. I don't mind paying a premium for exceptional Japanese food- we do omakases at least once a year. But Musume was overpriced for what it is. The quality was fine but for that price I expect my mind to be blown on at least some items. We shared 5-6 dishes and they were all meh. Plus the tables were not socially distanced and none of the waitstaff wore masks, though service was good.

Went for dinner for 2, ordered Sake and several hot dishes along with sushi. The waitress was not attentive although there were hardly anyone dinning. The cod dish was ok, fish didn't taste that fresh. Sushi came out and the rice was not acceptable. I get better sushi from Kroger and they coast the fraction of it. We removed the rice and ate the fish. I would never go back there again. Total waste of money.

Do not enter the restaurant, warning !!!!!!! This cheeky manager, he has shocking behavior !!!!! Did not meet the times we booked the table a week before, and when we talked and tried to understand what was going on he threatened us to call us police, the service and food was on the face !!!!! You should not fall into the trap, if I had read before the review of the restaurant I would not go there !!!!! And the worst thing is that this cheeky manager after we left sent a message that we would never come to this restaurant again, it was the most shocking. Be careful !!!!

Fresh Asian fusion beautifully presented as art! The restaurant has very open floor plan for social distancing and an inviting atmosphere. Our waitress Karen, was so enthusiastic and informative about the dishes that made our selections easy. We went with three of their small plates with the crab and the 72 hour cod being some of my favorites. We started with a hot sake and this some delish wine. I don’t think there would be one dish on the menu that would fail. It was one of our first dining during the COVID and we felt very safe. The seaweed salad and the rolls are so good too!

We went to Musume for an anniversary dinner. We were fans of Kenichi, which was from the same owner, and some of the menu items made it to the new restaurant, plus some outstanding additions. We had a chef's tasting menu, and there were no disappointments. Of particular note were the scallops cooked on a hot rock at the table, as well as the lamb lollipops. Service was top notch, and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

This was my go-to restaurant for special occasions, and I've written some very positive reviews in the past. Khalil and staff always reserved my favorite table. The waitstaff were knowledgable, efficient, and super friendly. The small plates and cocktails were unique and generally fantastic. But on this visit, I encountered my first bad experience. A great experience at this restaurant, when visited for its small plates, relies on the expertise of the server. Bad server, bad experience.. The server on this visit was new and appeared to be out of his league. Musume got very packed very quickly, and it appeared the kitchen fell way behind. We had a show to make and told them as much up front. The food was very slow to come out and poorly paced. The server overpromised and did not inform. His "humor" was ill-placed. Many items showed up in the last 15-20 minutes. And, for the first time in my experience here, favorite items were overcooked, dry, and very average. The server added 18% gratuity to the check without my knowledge. (I've always hosted a party of 2-4. This was my first party of 5. No gratuities had been automatically added in the past.) The slow service meant we had to rush out the door to make the show on time. In my rush, I didn't notice the 18% and I tipped 20% on top of the nearly $600 total, which included the 18%! I'm not writing this bad review based on the bad experience we had while there. It's more respectful and more constructive to complain directly to the source, so that's what I did -- out of respect. I'm writing this bad review because of the treatment I received after taking my complaints to the source. I recognized the double gratuity later that same night, and I spoke with Autumn the following day. I had asked to speak to the manager when I called, and Autumn said she was the manager. (I learned 7 weeks later that Autumn is actually the Hostess Manager, or some similar title. I thought I was speaking to the restaurant manager the entire time.) She did handle my call with well-trained, super polite, textbook perfection. I was impressed. I explained the problem with the double-gratuity, asked for a refund of the 20% ($120), was led to believe that it would be forthcoming soon, and complained about the multitude of things that made this visit unpleasant, the vast majority of which were created by the new-to-Musume server. She said she'd take my complaints to her team and that I could expect to hear back from somebody soon. Khalil, who I talked to after 2 months with no refund, politely said Josh would be in touch. To my utter surprise, Josh Babb, the owner, chastised, ridiculed, condescended, yelled, and also complained that he'd have to collect the $120 from his servers if he was to provide a refund. I held my ground. It was a very reasonable request. Did Josh or Khalil find it reasonable that the server (who, incidentally, did a poor job) should earn 44% gratuity ($220) on a $500 meal? Should the server not be obligated to warn his customers that he added 18% gratuity to the bill? In the end, Josh said he'd have the $120 in cash waiting for me at the front of the restaurant on a particular day and time and that he would let everybody know it was there so that I wouldn't encounter any trouble when I arrived to pick it up. To my naive surprise, the cash wasn't there. Khalil, the manager, gave me the $120 out of his pocket. I can't envision dining here again, knowing how this crazy, angry owner treats his customers when they complain, and wondering if Khalil, whom I always admired, knew that he was throwing me to the wolves when he so politely and cheerfully offered that Josh would call me soon. It makes sense that Khalil would know Josh well enough to know that Josh treats complaining customers in this reprehensible way. So ...? When I showed up at the appointed time to pick up the cash refund, I said to Khalil, "You didn't warn me that Josh would be so harsh." With a smile, he said in return, "Huh. He said the same thing about you." Wow. I'm perplexed, saddened, and surprised.

Went here for dinner with colleagues. We were a party of 10 and were placed in a private area, which was very nice. We ordered drinks. I had the Lychee Sangria which was delicious. For appetizers we ordered Spicy and Regular salted Edamame, Crab Cake, Ton Gyoza, Shitake Gyoza, Asian Baby Back Ribs and the Dim Sum. My favorites were the ribs and the crab cake. As an entree, I ordered the Citrus seared scallops which were delicious. They were perfectly cooked and the brussels sprouts were a perfect combination. The waiter was AMAZING! He was very attentive, pleasant, quick to offer suggestions, and knowledgeable about each dish. He ensured our water glasses were always full and made sure we didn't feel rushed and had everything we needed.

For a high end establishment their managers are sure very trashy! We were cursed out by the manager, after we complained about having to WAIT 30 minutes passed our reservation time with no answer from the hostesses and no explanation as to why they took the reservation if the could not accommodate us! He came in right after we are sat and screamed at us telling us get the F***k out! It was extremely embarrassing on their end and as a Dallasite who’s been to many other sushi places I recommend you do yourself a favor and choose any other sushi restaurant! This Khalil dude who’s supposedly the owner reeks of new money and you just can’t take the trash out of some people no matter how much they try to hide it behind ugly bow ties and ill fitted, tacky vests!!

My husband and I stopped here after he had a meeting in downtown Dallas. I spent my time waiting for him researching places that had happy hours and food. I had never even heard of it before. It's right in the Arts District and so very convenient to the museums and concert halls. We spent our time in the bar instead of the restaurant. We had their house wine for $7, which actually was very good. We ordered a bunch of small plates and shared. Everything was delicious. We had the chicken steam buns, crispy green beans, killer fried rice with chicken (a huge portion), and dynamite shrimp (there could've been more on this plate). All of these were on the Happy Hour menu and nothing disappointed. We will definitely be back. FYI, Musume means Daughter in Japanese. Quite clever since it's next to the museums!

Great ambiance before heading to the show. They have deliciously elevated Asian cuisine. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Food at this restaurant is average - at best. Menu is vastly overpriced, you are basically paying for the ambience as the restaurant is quaint and decorated beautifully for a lounge feel. I would recommend Uchi or Sinshei for food that is better quality at the same price tag. Customer service is complete trash and we will never come back to this establishment. Specifically Khalil (not sure if he’s the owner or manager) but he needs an attitude adjustment. You would think someone that works in the hospitality industry would want to make sure their customers needs are met and satisfied. There was a mishap when ordering our food that needed to be comped from the bill, we were over charged for drinks that were never ordered and food was incorrectly made. When addressing these items he was extremely combative, aggressive and pretentious. After the bill fiasco was handled we were looking forward to heading to the speakeasy bar/club to enjoy the rest of our night since we were celebrating a birthday. You have to be invited by the server to go back to the bar. After waiting for 10-15mins We noticed that tables were going back to the bar however we were never invited. When we asked someone at the restaurant why we were not being invited back we were told Khalil said that we were not allowed back there because we had an issue with our bill. Our group is very well connected in the Dallas community as we work with high profile clients and socialites. We will be sure to share our experience and advise against doing business with this establishment

Actually, I would like to write two different reviews, one for the food and service (very good) and one for how my concern was dealt with retrospectively (unprofessional). That later. For food and service: The sushi we ordered was excellent and we can fully recommend it. The service was very friendly and attentive. Price-performance is more at the upper limit. One starter each, sushi for two, one beer and one dessert (which we shared), cost just under USD 160.-. Incl. We are tipped at just under USD 200.-. For good food we like to pay such an amount and as I said, it was worth it. Ambience: Very nice place. Unfortunately ser cooled down heavily (as so often in the US). The warming tea was therefore also on the house. Very nice. Now for the big but... Unfortunately, something was wrong with the credit card payment, which we only noticed the next day when my limit was suddenly used up. There were about USD 3,000.- (!!!) reserved on my credit card. Unfortunately, even after five (!) Calling the restaurant won't help. The inquiry at the credit card company revealed that something was wrong with the restaurant's credit card terminal. Possibly the device is defective or a fault has happened. When I told the person in charge (whom I finally got on the phone after a long back and forth), the reaction was at best cultivated disinterest. Well, the reserved amount could now be deleted by the credit card company. In this respect, my problem is solved. However, based on my experience, I do not recommend anyone to pay there by credit card. They said it would be investigated. But for me, that leaves a bland aftertaste. Schade.

Food was just wonderful. It was so wonderful we went back two days in a row. Service was attentive without being "hovering". If you are in the mood for an Japanese food in Dallas, this is the place to go.

Our company hosted a dinner for 12 here after an event and we were all so impressed with Musume. Khalil took great care of our team and we look forward to hosting more dinners here in the future.

Great food, great Service. Manager/owner checked on us several times (in a mask, for you Covid paranoids that won't stay home). All of the food was excellent. Speakeasy was also great.

COVID Review: I only think its fair during the pandemic that I make some comment about a restaurant's covid protocols (or lack of). I think I saw the "maitre d's" face without a mask more than any of his staff. No effort was apparently made to spread tables apart. The first table they offered us was in the entrance of the restaurant where everyone would be walking within 3 feet of us to come and go. They moved us when I pointed this out, but some of couple was sitting there soon. COCKTAILS: The Satsuma it to me was well balance and interesting although we found the Lychee Sangria overly sweet. RESTAURANT WEEK: Hit or Miss!!! The prawn was tasty as were the spare ribs. We enjoyed the delicate flavor of the fish although the portion was very small. The beef on whole potatoes appeared impressive and tender, but overly salted. It was also bizarre that they expected their guests to eat this with chopsticks? Only when I asked was a knife and fork brought out. DISASTER: The fried ice-cream dessert. The magic of fried ice-cream is that you bite through a hot layer of crispy fried batter into a cold sweet ice-cream. Their version of this was awful - they had pre-prepared all the portions, so you get a cold soggy batter (like funnel cake that had been left out for a few days) and half melted ice-cream in the middle. Topped with some artificial whip cream. When I pointed out how terrible it was to the waiter she agreed that it wasn't the classical fried ice-cream, yet made no effort to offer something else. SIDE-NOTE - excellent music selection! WHY COME HERE? If you want to look fancy in front of your friend or try to impress your hot date. If you want more impressive food there's plenty of other choices in the city.

Dear Foodie readers, when going to a show, or traveling there for business, this Japanese restaurant is conveniently located right across the theater district. I was there for work, and was staying around the corner. We walked over, and were seated at the bar....it is a comfortable area, pretty spacious...and it gets pretty lively as the evening progresses. We ordered quite a bit to share... I started with the house salad, it was a good portion...we wanted to try the seabass, unfortunately they were out. We got the Brussel sprouts, dim sum, and a few rolls....they were all tasty, nothing extraordinary, but good...service was good, atmosphere was as well....it is a little pricey, but good for dinner and theater combo date night...or after business meeting hang out.

I was part of a big group dinner (14 people!) and it couldn't have been better. The owner is a true host, the food is delicious, and the service was excellent. I would definitely go back!
Ooo La La!
This restaurant is an experience you won’t want to miss! The decor, the service and the food are impeccable. The menu is vast and delectable. Unbelievable alcohol selections as well. The largest I’ve ever see. Even if an entree selection is a familiar one, it will be the best you’ve ever tasted! Hats off to the chef and our server, Madi. Madi was so well versed with the entrees and beverages. Her recommendations were excellent. Bravo and well worth the drive from Houston. We will be back! Great for a family or friendly outing. Highly recommend as an impressive date night, too!
