It was a really great experience. Very intimate and unique setting in La Jolla. We were not expecting such great food ! The show was very entertaining and the magician did a great job engaging with the crowd. He was very professional and talented and also very funny. Overall 5 stars

A Stupendous Evening Always had a love/hate relationship with my birthday. Every year hubby asks me what I want to do to celebrate and every year I say I don’t know until the last minute when I decide I should do something to mark the occasion. This year’s last-minute decision was to go to Mystique, and we had an extremely incredible evening. Since the doors opened at 6pm, we feared rush hour traffic, so we left early and arrived 35 minutes before the doors opened. Consequently, we got to experience our own private magic card show by Erik Tait who’s act is pure fun. He won First Place in IBM’s Gold Cups Competition, and we saw why! He has a rare combination of outstanding chops and a truly smart comedy script. Let me not forget the dinner. They offered several options for food including prime rib, scallops and vegetarian. Hubby had the scallops, and I got the vegetarian dish which was sauteed mushrooms in an outstanding mushroom gravy with mashed potatoes. The actual magic show put on by Erik was one where you are constantly asking “how did he do that”!!!! Service by the staff was top notch and even the décor was magical!! This is a must-see experience for everyone.

Delicious food, great magician who engaged everyone, lots of laughs and conversation. What more could you ask for in an evening out with friends

Across from the Comedy Store, this looked interesting - expensive at over $200/person, but it “sounded” like a great dinner and magic show. But man, what a bore fest when you arrive. You enter to a very small environment with no full bar - only wine and beer. The entire event is staffed by 2 front men, who poor the wine/beer, seat you long after you arrive and then serve dinner. There is zero entertainment for 2 long hours -,just a long dinner: 1st, a crab cake already on the plates, sitting there so long that they’re not even fresh or warm. Next comes a salad which would be good if only there was more than a sprinkle of dressing. Then, the shrimp cocktail - saved by a request for lemon wedges, as if they don’t understand this is needed. The cocktail sauce was a devine “fix” to the abysmal foray this far. But then - the well-done prime rib. Did I say I want you to ruin such a great piece of meat by over-cooking it? The vegs weren’t warm enough to eat. Continuing the gruelingly-long experience - in an otherwise silent small room - cames a dessert of brownie topped by a stretchy marshmallow. Aye. How about heat the brownie and serve w/a scoop of vanilla? … Other guests were asking - “when” will the show start? They’d run out if Coke and Pepsi. I had to retrieve some from my car. . I couldn’t take anymore, after waiting 2 hours, 10 mins. We left - my own magic. Poof! I’m gone!!

We took my son and wife here for his birthday, he loves magic! We all had a great time! Food was really good and excellent service! Loved the vibe and decor, felt like we were sitting in a fancy dining room of a mansion!

We went here as a family with some friends with children from 6 to 12. It was a great time for everyone. We all really enjoyed the magic tricks. The food was delicious, although I would have enjoyed a bit more variety of options. The prime rib was perfect! I like it medium rare so it was cooked just the way I like it. The stuffed mushrooms were very good, I’d recommend getting those to share. The dessert was incredible. Already booked our next show!

We went to Mystique in La Jolla last night and it was so much fun! You will have dinner with a magic show featuring top magicians. The decor is really beautiful like an elegant old castle. (see photos). First, you enter a lobby area with a bar where you can order a drink (beer, wine, and hard seltzer) while you wait. The "butler" serves your beverage and will be your server throughout the evening. He was very friendly and fun to talk with. Next, you enter the main room to have dinner. It is so beautiful. It's rather dark and mysterious- feels so fancy! They serve you a delicious 5-course meal that is superb. The chef there is one of the best. I was so amazed at how every course was so delicious, down to the rich caramel cake for dessert--I had to eat it all, it was so yummy. After enjoying our relaxing dinner, the magician came out and did a show with all sorts of magic tricks that were mind-blowing! How did that dollar bill get inside that walnut? We had so much fun, and we plan to go back soon. We have been to the Magic Castle in Hollywood and this place was similar but on a smaller scale. It's a great place to celebrate or just go for a really fun evening of great food and entertainment. Highly recommended.

This was so much fun and a very unique dining experience. The Magician was very interactive. Everyone had a chance to participate and he learned everyones name by the end. The food was great totally worth the cost. This was a little pricy but worth it and they seem to always have discounts floating around.
Great night out!
Mystique Dining is a magical treasure! This is an intimate dining room with a nice diner followed by a 45 minute close up magic show. They have a nice bar with all sorts of cool memorabilia. The show was very interactive, and seems to change each week. The magician got everyone involved in the show. They run some nice discounts on their social media so keep an eye out. This is a fun couples night out and perfect for a small group!
