good!

I had lunch at NM Café , and starting off with the popovers and chicken broth was such a lovely touch. The food was delicious, the service warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt chic yet relaxed—perfect for a leisurely break

nice North Park Center secret

Located all the way on the 3rd floor inside the Neiman Marcus of this mall is the NM Cafe - a great bistro type restaurant that serves quality lunches with excellent wait staff service. I enjoyed a smoked salmon appetizer special that was very fresh and tasty. My main dish was the Steak Frites - an excellent, melt in your mouth filet mignon steak with vegetables and crisp shoestring fries. They also have a nice wine selection as well. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal experience

Delicious Lunch

We had a delicious lunch there this past week while visiting Dallas. The entrance is actually outside the NM, so just keep that in mind. If I happened to be downtown again I would go there for lunch. I did notice they are closed on the weekend though.

Better food in Other NM Cafes

By laplume9254 |

I frequent the NM Cafe in Scottsdale AZ. Here at the North Park Mall, the Cafe has the same menu as the Scottsdale location. I ordered my familiar Chicken Tuscan sandwich and was disappointed with it. The meal is so much better in AZ. It was dry, and had old bread. The salad did not taste fresh. Obviously no consistency in the various Cafes. Beware.

As good as it's always been

We've eaten here for years and love it. The popovers with strawberry butter are a great start to the meal. We had a fantastic waiter who was very knowledgable about the menu. I had the burger and it is always a delight. For dessert ask if they have the Floating Island. It isn't on the menu but they frequently have it. For those of you who don't know what it is here you go: light fluffy meringue topped with a cream and caramel sauce. It literally melts in your mouth. They don't call it the floating island any more (that's what Helen Corbitt called it when she was there) but they know what it is.

Disappointing. Go elsewhere.

This restaurant has continued to go downhill. The food was salty. Our waitress spoke very little English and did not know the lunch menu and had not tried the daily special. Had to ask repeatedly for items. Go to nordstrom's northpark for better food, excellent service and natural daylight.

NM Northpark For Lunch Is Nice, But It's Not Downtown

By ciscokid23 |

Went to Neiman Marcus at North Park and had lunch there for the famous NM chicken salad with orange souffle. While the dish is identical to the one served in the Zodiac Room at the downtown Dallas store and while the clothes and merchandise selection is much larger at the North Park store than at the downtown store, the magic (and quality of service) of the downtown NM flagship store was simply not there. The North Park store is the same (albeit larger) as the Florida Neiman Marcus stores at Merrick Park (Coral Gables), Bal Harbour (Miami Beach), or Ft. Lauderdale (Galleria Mall) or the Austin and Houston NM stores. The downtown store was simply elegant with its 2014 Christmas decorations - North Park was merely a large mall.

Another Busy Downtown Spot

Try it and you will like it. Good variety of choices and very tasty dishes combine for a great experience - expect no less from NM.

Nice lunch

The NM Cafe is always a great little spot for lunch when shopping out at NorthPark. I always enjoy their soups, salads, and sandwiches. Service can be hit or miss. This is a nice place to "people watch."

Tell "KESSLA" I miss her service

By judytex1 |

For many years our family would head to NM cafe for the best service possible. "Kessla" has served us for as long as I can remember. At age 6, my daughter requested lunch with her as our server. Now, at 30 something, she has introduced her 9 year old to our tradition. Living in Austin, I do not get to NM North Park often. But you can rest assured I will have lunch with Kessla every time I am in the DFW area!

Great Department Store Cafe

Neiman's never disappoints. Lunch starts with traditional pop overs with strawberry butter and chicken broth. Good selection of salads and sandwiches. Wait staff friendly and professional.

Elegant, expensive dining

For a treat in Dallas I had lunch on the 6th floor of Neiman Marcus, the flagship store on Main St (not to be confused with the 6th Floor Museum in the TX School Book Depository.) The place is spacious, quiet, elegant with a handful of mostly women treating themselves. Service is excellent, cordial, attentive. You start with a tea cup of delicious consommé with a little pastry, with a second cup on request. Then a large popover comes with a flavored butter. The menu is helpful since it not only lists the calories of each dish but the actual ingredients. I ordered the lemon shrimp salad with drawn butter, quinoa, chopped cucumber and lots of lettuce. It was $24.75 + tax! But the whole gracious, peaceful experience was worth it.

Lunch

Lunch at Neiman's is always a treat. We met friends and the noise level was a little too much for a good conversation, but the food was so good. The Mexican lasagna was the special for the day and was excellent! For dessert, we shared a slice of the coconut cake with pineapple filling. One of my favorites, although I think I prefer the lemon filling.

Excellent food and service

We had an excellent lunch, with all dishes prepared well. The chicken broth soup and cracker, on the house, at the start of lunch was tastiest we’ve ever had. All entrees, including Gluten Free choices clearly marked on the menu, were excellent. Highly recommend NM Cafe.

Good and bad

By Skytop82 |

I have enjoyed the NM Cafe on past visits but was somewhat disappointed when I took two guests there last week. The crust of the popovers was hard as opposed to being soft on previous visits. I was glad, however, that the strawberry butter was softer. The consommé is still nice but I liked it better when the cup had a handle. I also did not care for the new decor. There were areas that seemed dark. I had planned to take some other guests there at a later time but probably will not.

An Old Favorite Still Well-loved

By Jane S |

When I want a little lift - something beyond the ordinary, here's where I go. It's up on the top floor near the gifts and candy. The atmosphere is pure posh and relaxation. You ARE going to be catered to in a most enjoyable way. Sometimes they have table-side modeling. The food is delicious. You pay more than you would for fast food, but hey, you're getting a lot more than fast food. Have been enjoying this since I was a kid. It used to be called the Zodiac, but now that's exclusively downtown. Another good choice is the Mermaid Bar downstairs. Quicker, more casual, but still good.

A very good lunch

I was quite impressed with the food and the service. The popovers continue to be wonderful, and I am glad that the strawberry butter is now soft instead of hard.

Still a Winner

We lunched at the NM Cafe on the third floor of Neiman Marcus’ Northpark store. We always enjoy this little elegant cafe with its tasty menu and friendly service. We shared a hummus dish to begin and then feasted on Salmon and Texas Redfish entrees-both delicious. There are many restaurants at Northpark but if you wish to dine in gracious style, this is the place.

The NM Cafe is back and revitalized!

The NM Cafe is back and revitalized! New decor sets off the fixed menu. What a delightful venue for lunch! The crab soup was superb and the Ahi Tuna very special. Service is perfect! Forget your cares and enjoy NorthPark at this chic cafe.

Always a Special Treat!

By Timkerbell2 |

Dined here frequently with my mother, on shopping spree days, before she passed away. Recently stopped in with my Dad, who’s hard of hearing. The staff was very patient and kind with him. Spinach, artichoke crab dip was very good. The crab cakes were wonderful and the suggested wine was perfect. Dad had the NM classic chicken salad which he enjoyed. Also, a nice touch, possibly the manager, scurried up and placed a napkin in my lap, which is not unusual. Only later did I realize the napkins on the table were white. As I was dressed in black trousers and sweater, the napkin he appeared with was black. Presumably to keep white lint off of my outfit. Well done!

Nice lunch

Had an opportunity to have lunch at their cafe in Ft Worth and it was very nice, they do serve a wide lunch menu like in their larger restaurants, their signature popovers are fabulous, had a soup and sandwich combo, the tortilla soup was very tasty and the tuna sandwich generous Good place for sort of upscale restaurant Enjoy

Very good lunch prior to shopping

By Ikemx |

Had a very good lunch at this location, it was a very good experience. That day they had a special chicken dish in addition to their regular menu. It was a chicken pallard Milanese style, super tasty on a perfect tomato sauce and cous cous. Their popovers are super good. I had an excellent dessert, it was perhaps the best Meyer Lemmon tart. Service was very good

Nice lunch

By Skytop82 |

There are some things that are good about tradition, and it is nice that for many years NM Cafe has served chicken consomme at the beginning of every meal. And the popovers with strawberry butter continue to be a delicious treat. I have enjoyed both the salmon and the scallops.

Pricey but good quality, service and style

By BigJon55 |

My first time to eat at a Neiman Marcus and I must say it is impressive. The food was pricey but very good. Service was excellent. It is a very elegant place to have lunch and enjoy a cocktail.

GREAT lunch - but located downtown like the picture shown

By janes319 |

Delicious food, beautifully plated, and served graciously. The setting is not formal like the Zodiac, but the food is fabulous and the service cannot be beat. Very reasonable prices, too!
