Worst Service ever

By Why me |

They had one person in the place, one person. At least three workers. Finally, a young man got off the phone and sat us. He took forever to bring us drinks. We ordered calamari and it came out with the drinks. We got our order placed and it took forever, had to get up to ask for refills. The order comes out, need some Tabasco and my hubby was halfway done before I ever got to ask for it. The only thing fast was him bringing our ticket, I paid and waited 15 minutes for change. I won't be going back.

Good catfish

By Swimfins |

Ordered a catfish platter take out for supper and was very pleased with it - fried just right, and the catfish was fresh and moist. French fries were good too. Service was good - it was ready exactly when they said it would be. Will eat there again on the next trip to Dallas.

Creole in downtown Dallas

By Dennis W |

If you can happen to find the Westin hotel, that is where it is located. One Main place is on the building - didn't know it was half hotel until we went inside to ask where the hotel was. Saw the restaurant and decided to try. Spicy creole dining.

Not New Orleans

By Nated2519 |

This place is good, but it is Not New Orleans. I had the red beans and rice no real spice a little disappointed but good. I would try it again. My friend had a burger it looked really good.

Some good points, some not so good!

By GAWanderer |

The weather during our weekend trip to Dallas was cold and windy. On Saturday evening we walked from our hotel over to NOLA Brasserie for a Happy Hour Drink and Snack. Our lunch had been huge, so we did not want a big dinner. The server never mentioned Happy Hour and was a little vague when I asked about it. I had read on their website that they had beer and wine and some appetizers for $5 each. We ordered the catfish and truffle fries appetizers and two draft beers. She did offer to bring us a taster of two different draft beers. The beer was great. The catfish was fried very crisp with mostly crisp and not a lot of fish. The fries were okay. The dining area is very attractive with a view of downtown Dallas. Probably would not go back unless it was just for a drink. The service was for the most part good. We did hear a manager sorta telling off a woman at another table.

Mostly local people !

By Michel L |

Brasserie with a touch of new orleans decor. Menu is also with cajun style. No wine list, just the basics. Service is good. Most people are regulars sitting at the bar. Nothing to write home about !

Delicious red fish

By Katie S |

Surprisingly good Cajun food in Dallas. I ordered the red fish and truly enjoyed it. The sauce was delicious, the side of mashed potatoes was good although I would have thought rice would have been more authentic. Great Chardonnay.

Not sure

By travelshooter71 |

Great reviews is what got me in here, however service was really slow, food was just okay for my wife and my burger was terrible

Ok for a business meeting

By John B |

This place is located conveniently downtown in a nice spot by the park, the seafood gumbo is pretty good. I do not recommend the fries at all, they always come soggy, and the bar tender is never helpful

Great reataurant close to convention center

By Melisa B |

My son and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The service was good and we really enjoyed the food. Their salads are very fresh and the chicken on my salad was done to prefection and not all dried out. They have a good kid’s menu that is not very expensive. Nice atmosphere too.

Nice place but ordinary

By Hilton66 |

Liked the place and the staff were helpful and really nice, the food was just a bit bland and ordinary. Had the seafood platter but there was nothing to it and others had blackened chicken and pasta and felt the same. Needed some kick or flavour. It’s a nice location and I liked the restaurant but the food was a little disappointing-

Word to the wise

By Alaster83 |

Came to this spot to celebrate a birthday and they were ready for our party of 7 BUT ... everyone had something wrong with the service experience and some of the food options . Overall, the fried catfish and seafood pasta were the best entree options . Here is a list of the problems we encountered: The rice in the crawfish and red beans was Under cooked . The cole slaw side had no flavor . When asked for tarter sauce the waiter asked my firmed if she was going to use her, reached over her plate and gave me her crawfish. Who does that ! The waitress disappeared and the manger finished up on our table . He never refilled our water. Along with mis-quote upcharge fees . Very disappointing birthday dinner .

Food too dry

By janmar2007 |

Visited with my young daughter. I had the roast beef poboy, which wasn’t bad. Fries were a little too salty. My daughter had the chicken Florentine, which she didn’t eat. The potatoes were extremely dry. My daughter said, ‘like quicksand ‘. We could barely find the piece of chicken, which was also dry. Like the plate was put in the microwave. Plate was not appealing at all. Was busy with only 1 server, whom was trying her best.

Poor service...unacceptable management

By Mswadley22 |

I would totally give them a half star, if I could. The ambiance of the restaurant was cool. I was very excited at the opportunity to eat some good food, NOLA style. As soon as we were sat we were given “attitude” by the waitress...dry and very unwelcoming. She was very inattentive. We ordered and it was about 45 minutes before we got our plate. Everyone’s plate was cold but we were so hungry, most of us went ahead and ate our food. Underseasoned, cold and definitely not reminiscent of NOLA. We were told to SHARE condiments...the manager literally took a tartar sauce from one plate and gave it to another person!!!! Have you ever heard of such???? He reached onto a plate someone was eating out of!!!! Our drinks were not refreshed and the upcharges were absurd. However we paid them, with a undeserved 20% gratuity. When we left the manager came out and CLAPPED HIS HANDS AND SAID “BLACK GIRLS” don’t come back....utterly disrespectful and we then knew it was a race thing. DO NOT PATRON THIS RESTAURANT....money is green and great service is UNIVERSAL!!!

Nice surpise, walking around downtown

By txsingleexplorer |

Staffed by many very friendly people some from Louisiana. Ate at bar and the bartender was very knowledgeable about the food and menu. Very Louisiana nice! Started out with the catfish strips on the Happy Hour menu (several apps and drinks priced nicely at $5..). The Remoulade sauce was one of the best I've had! Then had the Fried oysters with truffle oil and parmesan...was amazing. It normally comes on a bed of house cut fries, but I opted instead for a side of Crawfish Mac (upcharge $2 :( ), but was decadently good. I understand that they are taking this item off the menu...sad. Note to GM: It may simply be that this was the only fried oyster option, and priced at $21, is high for Texas... I would recommend offering fried oysters, priced a bit lower, with an option to "add-on" the truffle oil option for an upcharge... Will definitely return.

This place can actually served excellent food!

May 23, 2017, review: Routinely, I don't usually return to a restaurant after a bad first-time experience. However, I was convinced by the owner who's been a NOLA Chef for many years. Having dined several times at his French Quarter restaurant (Marigny Brasserie) in New Orleans and I enjoyed all the food I had there, I said why not. Today, I brought along a co-worker, who is a foodie, and enjoys Creole/Cajun cuisine. Well, I am not sure what the heck happened on my first visit to this restaurant but I am glad I returned to try this restaurant one more time. My crawfish etouffee was superb and my friend simply devoured every bit of his plate of chicken florentine cooked and seasoned to perfection. We were also given a bowl of red beans and rice which we shared, and it rocks, it brings back memories of my native NOLA friend's cooking. Dessert was, of course, bread pudding. We were provided with a traditional bread pudding and a fried bread pudding (not on the menu) which we shared. The bread pudding I had on my first visit did not look like the same bread pudding I have today, the appearance, the taste, the texture - this the LA bread pudding I soooo love!! Now, let's talk about that fried bread pudding which left me wanting more, I could have eaten a whole plateful of it on my own. I doubt that I will go back to the traditional version of bread pudding, and my friend said the same thing. This fried bread pudding is awesome, the crunchiness and the enhanced flavors by the way it was prepared. NOLA Brasserie won me back and for that, I am changing my rating from 1-Star to 5-Star.

Makes Me Miss New Orleans

By Wineice M |

When I walked thru the door I was greeted with a smile and a big hello (I like this place already). The restaurant is beautiful and bright and spacious. Started with a Bloody Mary....t.a.s.t.y. I tried the New Orleans pork rinds with of course, Louisiana hot sauce...reminded me of the kind my mom used to make. There were fresh, warm and lightly salted. Main course was the red fish w/crawfish etouffee and garlic smashed potatoes. The red fish was light and full of flavor...perfection. The crawfish etouffee, O.M.G., I think I will get a to-go order for later. I loved my server, she is funny and beautiful. Great spirit. She is a reflection of the NOLA atmosphere. NOLA Brasserie is a definite spot to visit in downtown Dallas.

At noon the lunch special was already gone

By Paula W |

The service was EXCELLENT. However, I arrived at noon , the waiter who was fabulous offered me the special that sounded delicious.I ordered the special. The waiter returns and says their out of it. So then I ordered a salad with the bacon vinaigrette ,the waiter describes it as delicious. He returns a short time later and says the chef said the vinaigrette was " not right" I enjoyed my food that wasn't my first choice but as a food reviewer I found it to be strange that at noon on a weekday in a restaurant that wasn't crowded the special for the day was already gone and the salad dressing was " not right "

had a good time

By dresf |

While staying at the Downtown Westin we had cocktails and dinner here a couple of times. Good cajun choices that were done nicely. Good service as well.

Shrimp was great

By Patty B |

We liked it so much, we went back the next day! Shrimp was great. My coworker lived the crawfish pasta. Jose was so friendly

Amazing!

By Maggie N |

Everything was amazing here! Our waiter Jose is so funny and friendly. The manager was so welcoming. Last but not least, the food was so good I hurt myself! I had an Abita Amber which was on draft (never happens where we are from), redfish acadian and Southern Comfort pecan pie! OMG was it good. Hubby had the seafood platter which was delicious. HUGE shrimp, crispy breaded catfish and a crawfish fritter that was sooo good. And if you think you have had the best creme brulee ever, think again! Their Grand Marnier Creme Brulee will make you wish you had dessert first! Great place, fantastic people, new fave in Dallas!

Fried ?Crawfish? Nuggets & Etoufee

By j68ky |

We were looking forward to our dinner at Nola and having a crawfish dinner. I had read that crawfish were in season in February and March and thought we were in luck. The waiter suggested the 1/2 & 1/2 Crawfish entree and we both ordered it. The etoufee was light in color and quanity...i.e. not much of it.. The fried crawfish? sprinkled on top were inedible! They were nothing more than hard crunchy pieces of fried batter...the size of dimes...perhaps what was left in the bottom of the fryer after the crawfish had disappeared. We left very disappointed and would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Alas!

3/4 lunch

By ScottD58 |

Ordered the 3/4 lunch salad with chicken for under $10. Thought it was a real fair deal compared to the full salad. Walked away satisfied. Service was very good and the coffee was excellent!

Service is decent

By PH |

My server was super quick and the food is ok. The hush puppies had no taste, but the gumbo and the truffle fries made up for it. Good for a quick meal.

Very enjoyable!

By LornaJB2015 |

We stayed at the Westin Downtown Dallas, where Nola is situated, we had drinks each night as well as a meal and appies a few times. The food was really good (good quality and value). The staff and management were great. A big thanks to Cory, Michael and Manager Jose! Thanks for adding to our memories! I would recommend a stop at Nola if you are in the area!

Good Cajun and creole cuisine

By Henry F |

I might have rated this a 5 if the food were hotter (temperature, not spiciness). The excellent gumbo was a bit above room temperature though very flavorful. The blackened chicken over pasta also could have been warmer but the flavors were very good.

good food and nice atmosphere

By jctokyo |

This is the best option close to the Downtown Westin. Staff are friendly and the menu includes good options for kids.

Experience

By Spyder S |

It is a extremely nice restaurant but I definitely had a bad experience. I was a walk in with a party of 5. Which I hate to say, I am a young black man and the restaurant was not full at the time and I didn't know if they had alot of reservations or not. But what rub me the wrong way is when I told him we where a party of 5 with no reservations and was only just trying to grab a quick bite to eat, he looked us up in down then judged us. Then he told us we would have a hour and half wait, when I didn't know that my friend had already set reservations. Then his reply was "oh you don't have a reservation" which was totally BS and some real racial profiling. So I refused to eat or drink after that but my fiance did. And the guy that treated us like this was Jose Rico which is the GM. WHich we feel was very disappointing because it was know one we could talk to in order to get the situation resolved.

My husband and I walked in because we had oysters were amazing here.. then we waited and waited and nobody greeted us!!

By Annie O |

No service no acknowledgement! So disappointed ruined our whole night! It is my birthday weekend! Read oysters were so yummy too

Huge Disappointment

By Regina |

This place is in a beautiful location, the center of downtown Dallas. My husband and I dressed up for date night and expected some delicious, “New Orleans” type of food. However, that’s not what we got. Gumbo, taste was nothing like seafood gumbo (sent it back) the bisque soup was super delicious (ate that) Cajun red fish (ate that) crawfish étouffée (gummy rice) no taste. We wasted around $100.00 eating here and won’t return. I’m super sad because the restaurant ambiance is lovely, but the taste of the food needs help ASAP.

Yummy Boar

By DrColby |

I had the Wild Boar sandwich for dinner at the NOLA Brasserie, and it was tasty. The burger was perfectly cooked, and topped with cheese, pulled pork, and crispy bacon. It was really delicious to the last bite. Although the service was friendly, it was slow. We had to wait a long time to get a take-home box, and to get our checks. I was pleased by the reasonable cost and would come back here again when visiting Dallas.

Shrimp salad

By Stephen H |

Had a salad with shrimp that was fresh and tasty. Nothing astonishing here, but food is good and service is fine too. Worth a visit.

Give time, it's good!

By Princess E |

The food was great. Service was so so. We had a Bday party of 25 and they rushed us which was disappointing. The server could not keep up with request. We still had a good experience. They reach out and apologized for the service which was great. I can say the food was hot, tasty and fast. I will go back!!!

Dinner Date

By MartaviaThomas |

Hubby and I chose this hidden gem for dinner. The crawfish mac & cheese is the bomb!!! We had the shrimp and fish platter. Everything was good. The service was excellent.

Nice place to grab some food or drink - large menu

By lahelsel |

Stopped by to grab lunch at the bar while at a nearby conference and staying in the Westin. Great bar service. Salad was yummy & good size for $10. Worth the try!

For the price, I would pass

By Zamigaos |

We arrived in Dallas after a long day of meetings and driving from Houston. We were tired and hungry and did not want to walk to find a place to eat. The menu at Nola seemed Ok and we ventured in for dinner about 7pm on a Wednesday. We should have known better, when there were only three other tables occupied. The person who greeted us was extremely friendly, as were all of the staff. They made us feel comfortable and came immediately to get our drink order and bring us some complimentary pork rinds and hot sauce. (Which were not great, by the way!) And, that pretty much was the highlight of the meal. Our server, who I will not name, was so friendly and personable. But, he was a terrible waiter. He forgot drinks several times and we had to ask for refills. My associate ordered a Caesar salad "to start" and the fired shrimp. That's how she ordered it. What she got was a salad with fried shrimp on it...which we couldn't even find on the menu. And, when we mentioned it to the server...he did not offer to correct the problem or even apologize. He just sort of smiled and ask if we needed anything else. She asked if maybe she could get a plate of fries, since that was part of the original meal she ordered. He brought those - about 10 minutes later and charges us for them. And, since the place wasn't busy, it sure didn't seem like this should have been an issue. The food was fine...nothing special but good enough. However, the service was really lacking. Not worth the price - but the location in the hotel was what we needed at the time.

Unexpected pleasure in downtown Dallas!

By CMtraveller1 |

We were in Dallas for a couple of days and looking for a nice restaurant. A friend recommended this place and I'm glad she did! The atmosphere, service, and food were all great! Top that off by very reasonable prices and you have a winner. I unequivocally recommend this restaurant!

Good NOLA food

By Jon M |

Stopped in here after Tulane pulled off the miracle win…. We just had to have some NOLA food and they didn’t disappoint. Started with the crab cake then had the shrimp ettufee along with red beans and rice and gumbo. Fast service. Really liked it!!

Great Cocktails, Bland Food

By Michelle M |

Went there for a girls night! We had lavender champagne and a cucumber martini that was excellent! Spinach dip was bland, but fried green tomatoes were pretty good. Had corn and crab chowder with a salad. Chowder was okay, strawberry salad was terrible. This is the first bad review I’ve written, but there was no way around it. Needs a new chef.

Cajun food in Dallas

By terri20172018 |

We had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't busy and we had good service. The atmosphere is nice, not the usual decor you find with this type of food usually. The food was good. We had the red beans & rice and shrimp etouffee. Very good margarita as well.

Wow

By Andrew F |

This restaurant is located in the westin hotel where we stayed , the food we ate was great, the shrimp were huge and not greasy, the service was friendly and attentive, they have large portions I couldn't finish mines

Oh la la Nola

What a great burger. The chips are to die for. The service top notch. The price reasonable. Worth a visit if you want to put an inch on your waistline.

Delicious New Orleans Dishes, Comfortable and Casual Atmosphere, Service a Little Slow

By Paul K |

I visited NOLA Brasserie (in the Westin Hotel building on the Main Street side) a little before noon on a Friday, and the plan was to meet a cousin for lunch. I was quickly seated as the place was not busy yet, and a waiter soon approached and took my drink order – sweet tea. I looked around and saw pictures of various New Orleans scenes and buildings hanging on the interior columns (see picture) – the outer walls are almost all big windows – and there are some TVs above the full bar. I told the waiter I was waiting for a cousin and he brought my tea. I got a text from my cousin that she was tied up in traffic, so I flagged down my waiter and asked him for some fried green tomatoes while I waited. He brought them out several minutes later, along with some fried pork rinds in a small dish (apparently something every table gets), and things appeared on track. The remoulade sauce with the fried green tomatoes was very tasty, and I left a couple of tomatoes (there were five in the order) for my cousin, who also enjoyed them when she arrived later. Meanwhile, the place began filling up, and my cousin finally showed up, about half an hour after I’d been seated. My cousin ordered water while she studied the menu. Although the water came out quickly, it seemed to take a very long time for the waiter to come back to take our food order – he became very busy and I noticed a large table behind us that he was serving. He finally came for our food order, and I thought that was it. However, he came to us several minutes later to confirm what we’d ordered, as though he’d not written it down and had forgotten what we wanted. The waiter came by again quite a few minutes later and apologized that the food was taking so long. He came by again a little later and said that somehow our order had gotten behind the many orders from the large table behind us, so we waited what seemed like an inordinate amount of time before our food showed up. Needless to say, my cousin had an appointment with a patient at 1:30 and by the time the food came out and we ate, she ended up being late. Nevertheless, the food was very good – my cousin got the spicy, blackened chicken Alfredo and I got shrimp Alfredo – both lunch portion sizes, which were very generous. There are many great-looking choices on the menu – whether for lunch or dinner – and I would love to come back to try them. I just hope that service is faster next time!

Taste of New Orleans

By Jim P |

My son and his wife took my wife and I to eat dinner at NOLA Brasserie on our recent trip to Texas. This is a smaller sort of intimate place that seems to be as much a bar as it is a restaurant. There were more people at the bar than there were people dining. This gave me a little cause for concern, but that quickly disappeared after our drinks and appetizers came out. The drinks were great and the appetizers were delicious. We all ordered our meals and they were ready within 20 minutes. The four of us all ordered something that was typical of Louisiana or the South and everyone was pleased with their choice. The wait staff was professional, the food was good and reasonably priced and the portions were more than of ample size. This was a good dining experience.

Lunch

By Catrina M |

I had the lunch serving of fried catfish and shrimp. One fillet and three jumbo shrimp with fries and hush puppies. The food was seasoned well but wasn’t really “above” average. Would I eat there again? Yes. The portions and price were fair enough for a repeat trip. Is it somewhere that you MUST try? No! The restaurant is nice, with ample seating and good views with floor to ceiling windows.

Lunch celebration. .

By Nancym2020 |

Great New Orleans food in the middle of Downtown Dallas! This place had all the fun flavored Orleans food without having to leave town! Love the food and wait staff was great! Homemade pork rinds!!

Catfish taste like mud and uncooked batter

By Sha |

I've visited this place at least 2-3 times a week and my bill is an average $27-$30 during lunch. I had the fried Catfish and shrimp, the Catfish looked perfect until I ate some and noticed the batter wasn't cooked fully in the inside and I trashed it. I call the same day and the manager on duty said to come back , but I couldn't at the time. So the next day I walked over with a friend to pick up lunch. I discussed the matter with the manager on duty (different) and he basically said there's "nothing he can do..once you leave they dont replace or give your money back" although I did not ask for either at the time. I was simply letting him know so he can rectify the problem since this is the 2nd time this has happened. ME OR MY 17 TEAM MEMBERS WILL NOT BE VISITING THIS PLACE ANYMORE!! THE CATFISH TASTE LIKE MUD AND BATTER FALLS OFF AS SOON AS YOU PICK IT UP. THE FACT THAT MY PATRONAGE IS NOT VALUED I WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!! Also he informed my coworker that its $1.00 charge for extra ketchup.....pic below SHRIMP IS EXCELLENT LOVE THE SHRIMP.... He also suggest that I bite my food before I leave..lol

Pretty good Cajun

By Johnnyboydc |

I stayed at the Westin hotel and discovered this restaurant. The food was pretty good. Had the Blackened chicken pasta and cat fish bites they were both pretty good. I’d def eat st this establishment again. Caught me by surprised. I was being lazy and didn’t want to go far so this was perfect. I ordered Carryout.

Great service and good food and drink choices

By Margaret K |

Pork rinds served Louisiana style, yum! They have daily food and drink specials, specific beer and wines at great prices. Nice place in the Westin hotel to hang.

NOLA Taste in Downtown Dallas

By DesignedDestination |

Tried this place with my family for the first time and we all can say that the food was phenomenal. It's a nice new upscale restaurant with a modern look. Pricing isn't too expensive but a little more than an average restaurant. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't very busy but they were a little short on service, but the server we had was very polite and tentative. Parking was difficult to find since the restaurant is on Main street in downtown Dallas. Overall, if you're looking for a taste of great cajun/creole food in the Dallas area please try this place.

Looked good and sounded good but a little disappointing

By gator33 |

The server was attentive and friendly. The food was reasonably priced. We had the catfish and fried shrimp dinners that came with coleslaw and hush puppies and French fries. There was a very crispy batter on the fish and shrimp that overpowered the food. The coleslaw was a very small portion and needed lemon to bring out the flavor. Just a bit disappointing because everything sounded so yummy.

Whiff of Nola

By Shellseeker58 |

Pretty good gumbo; mushy crab cakes; decent red beans and rice; weak truffle fries. Great service. Convenient location. Not someplace I'd visit again, unfortunately, although I give them A for effort in trying to bring Nola to Dallas.

Team Dinner

By Dan M |

Decent service, nothing to rave about, wonderful food. Crawfish entrees were amazing. Drink specials that were on the website were no longer available. Would definitely go again when in Dallas.

Main floor of the Westin Downtown Hotel

By Chuckiepoo |

Since I was staying at the Westin, this was very convenient for me. The service was good. Kind of reminded me of a sports bar. It serves food New Orleans style if you had not figured that out yet. I had a Pork Po-Boy. It was delicious. Plenty to eat, along with the French Fries.

Worse service EVER

By Melissa B |

We met co workers for happy hour. They had ONE bartender for a Friday night. We couldn't get bar service let alone a waitress to come to our table to get any food order. We waited well over 30 minutes for either service. When the guy in front me got a drink the bartender was rude and unfriendly. The drink was weak and over priced. I wouldn't go there again!!

Yum!

By mrsbmcrawford |

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was definitely pleased. Nice sized portions and the food was super flavorful. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient.

DO NOT EAT HERE!

By Nitafrancone |

I visited NOLA Brasserie in 1/19/19 at 1201 Main St, Dallas Tx 75202, to celebrate a loved ones birthday. We reserved a table well in advance. When we arrived we asked to be moved to another table because the table they provided was a very tight space. if you moved your arm you would literally hit the person next to you. When we asked to move, the waitress refused and stayed “oh we set those up for other groups,” who hadn’t arrived yet. If we were the first reservation to arrive. Why can’t we pick our own table to ensure we have enough room to comfortably eat a meal. She came back to take our orders, and one person asked for her recommendations on chicken and seafood entrees. The waitress says “oh I’m vegan so I can’t tell you anything about the food here.”Who hides a waitress that doesn’t take the time to learn the menu items for a restaurant or at least know the popular items that customers order? Once she takes our order, she disappears for another 45 minutes. We search for her and find we at the bar..she is really the bartender and not a waitress at all. So, we ask how much longer on the food, and she says it should be right out About 10 minutes later the food comes out, and we begin to taste our meals. Everyone’s food was cold as if it had been ready quite some time ago. I signaled for the bartender and and advised her that my catfish and fries were cold, and she asks if I want it recooked..of course I do! Who pays for cold food? The other guests who had entrees that were cold chose to keep them because it would take too long to recook all of them and they were hungry. Eventually a manager, a male about 5’4’ brought out a new plate with hot fish and fries. All those who had rice entrees immediately informed him that the rice was undercooked. He responds and says well we cook it every day and no one has said anything. They probably don’t say anything because it takes over an hour to get your food and they don’t want to send it back because they’re hungry and don’t want to wait another hour for it be recooked. All those Entrees went back and only 1 person was willing to order another entree and wait for it. As we kept eating and waiting on the newly ordered entree, I requested more ketchup a couple of times to eat with my catfish and fries. Each time I’d ask for it, the manager would act as if I wasn’t supposed to ask for more. He would look into the little circular cup I had to see if it was empty. Why would you do that? The 2nd time requested more ketchup, the young lady across from me asked the manager for some tartar sauce. She then realized I had some and she asked if I was going to eat it. I advised her no and that she could have it. The manager reached across my plate, picked up the tartar sauce and handed it to her! It’s very rude to reach across someone else’s plate of food and unsanitary! What if a portion of his body or clothes had touched my food?! I had immediately lost my appetite. When asked why he did it the response was so that they didn’t have to get more from the kitchen?!By this time everyone was ready for their bills. We had to find the bartender again to request them. When she brought them they were all messed up with the incorrect items on several tickets plus a 20% gratuity, and nothing was taken care is by the manger even though we all had cold entrees and undercooked rice. Why would be pay gratuity to a waitress Or manager who is very inattentive and has horrible customer service skills. The water and tea refills we received cane from other waiters that would pass our table. So, we advised her of the incorrect tickets and requested she fix the tickets.I walked away with her and advised I want the gratuity removed because it not deserved by her or required from a patron. She says she’ll let the manager know. He comes to the opposite end of the table from me and says gratuity is automatically added by the computer and there’s nothing I can do. No apologies for all the inconveniences he and his staff has caused us or his rudeness/ being unprofessional earlier that evening. . Thee is no law that says you have to pay. It’s a patron’s choice on if they want to rip or not. So, since he refused to remove it, I paid my bill total with exact cash minus the gratuity. This is by far the worst customer service I have experienced at a restaurant! We left the restaurant and begin to walk back to our method of transportation. The manager comes out the restaurant, claps his hands and says, Black girls don’t come back!” Black Girls?! How dare you! Obviously racism still exists in this world! I am a grown woman who visited this restaurant and expected to receive great customer service and great tasting food. Instead we received horrible customer service and overpriced, cold, undercooked food that could’ve made Us sick ! ! Being the classy ladies that we are, we kept our composure and continued to walk away! DO NOT PATRON THIS RESTAURANT! PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!

Go, Nola, go!

By Oliver S |

Not only is the place cozy & friendly but it also offers great food and service. The steaks are tender and cooked just as ordered. Not to forget that they are sensibly priced. Bread comes warm and crunchy, Prosecco – chilled and at the right price. We cannot believe our luck, having just walked out of Dallas Fish Market one block from here (separate review). Very very good.

Since we were staying at the Westin hotel anyway, My wife and I planned on stopping here for a quick drink before retiring to bed. Those plans quickly changed once we stepped through the door. With a live acoustic guitar player readily welcoming customers to sing along with him we were soon apart of the show. Although it wasn't crowded, it felt like a big family get together over good food and drinks. Highly recommend the BBQ shrimp and grits. It was fantastic, authentic New Orleans style cuisine. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable... definitely coming back.

Can't tell you what the food tastes like - it was never offered.

Stopped here with family for lunch on 5/13/17 around 3:30PM. We were spotted and provided with menues. The food sounded good but the waitress never spoke to us, although she walked by our table 5-6 times in 20 minutes we were there. We got tired of waiting and left. This place was not busy besides one large party - they were getting service.

Very poor management customer service. Will not go back.

I ate there with members of my firm (about 10 people) as we do often for lunch on Fridays. Ordered the redfish from the dinner menu. At $21 any reasonable person would expect a full piece of fish. Instead, when it came out the fish filet was cut in 1/2 making it a rectangular piece about 3.5 inches tall and 3 inches wide. It looked like a small lunch order by mistake. When I asked the waiter, he advised there is no redfish lunch order and would get the manager. Instead of apologizing, the manager stated that the chief purportedly weighed the tiny piece of fish and it was the correct amount and they would not bring out any more fish. The members of the table who were paying attention laughed at this "pronouncement" by the manager. We all laughed even harder when the only action taken to address the situation was a $4 credit to the bill. Customer service means you take all step reasonably necessary to correct a poor situation. When management refuses to fix the situation after providing what is supposed to be a full dinner size fish portion that instead is like the amount of food for a five year old child and then stating they did nothing wrong and effectively doing nothing one has no choice but to react and provide notice to others who are thinking of eating at this place. As a result, for Friday lunches moving forward I will always veto our group ever returning to NOLA until we/I receive a formal apology for such poor customer service. Over a year, that will result in about $4000 in lost lunch sales that will go to an establishment that, in my opinion, does right by its customers

Tasty Cajun, Slow Service

This was my first visit to NOLA. I ordered the Redfish w/Crawfish Etouffee, Mac & Cheese, and sweet tea. The redfish was delicious and flaky. The etouffee was meaty, spicy, and delicious. The mac & cheese was tasty & cheesy but they use white cheese. The sweet tea was perfection! The prices were reasonable. The service was friendly but very slow.
