This place never disappoints. Food is great, huge portions, small prices. Parking is tricky, but it's worth it!

Huge portions, come hungry

By Jana G |

Nee Hao is a very small location in an older strip center right on the Beltway but has really good food and is conveniently located for airport employees or others in the area. Very fast, friendly service and huge, HUGE portions. I can make 3 meals out of one combo plate. I had the General Tso chicken this trip but my fav is Chicken broccoli. May try the beef next time!

Best Fried Rice.

We haven't eaten in this restaurant so can't comment on the atmosphere. We always go through the drive-thru and we always order the House Special Fried Rice and Egg Rolls. Its the best we've ever eaten. The portions are huge.

Hole in the wall with amazing tasting food

By mvanden |

This place is in an unattractive strip mall near a gas station but always has cars outside so we decided to try it. We thought about turning around after going inside. It certainly isn't pretentious. But my oh my were we happy we stayed. The orange chicken and cheese fries wantons were so good. The broccoli beef was also in the top two I've ever had. If you're within 20 minutes of this place, is worth the drive. But if you care about atmosphere when dining, you might choose to take-out instead of dining onsite.

It's blipping good to eat here. Lots of food and it's hot, savory and spicy if you like.

Having been to EVERY other restaurant in the nearest 3 miles, I decided to stop here. It's a hole in the wall. It's not kid friendly, it's LOUD, it's GOOD. I will bring friends and family here. I would wrestle the egg rolls back from a bear if he stole one from me. These are fresh, packed with goodness and fried right. I had the 4x spicy Gen Tso's chicken with the House/Singapore fried rice. The hot and sour soup was thick, hot, spicy, plenty of egg, tofu and whatever other weird bits go in it. The portions of food are enormous. This is a Houston treasure and if you don't like eating in dives, then avoid this place.

Tasty

Typical gourmet with the selection you would expect to find at other locations. Place was clean so I felt good place to dine

Hole in the wall

By Greg H |

If you are looking for good Chinese food you must try this place. Close to IAH. SMALL HOLE IN THE WALL AND PARKING CAN BE DIFFICULT BUT THE FLAVORS SERVICE AND PORTIONS ARE AMAZING. one plate will feed two people or one if you are a pig like me!

Positive surprise

By bonus882 |

We were looking for a place to eat for lunch with the guys from work and bumped into this one. It is basically a Chinese restaurant with big portions and good food. The service was very warm and welcoming and everything arrived pretty fast although the place was totally full. Ideal for a lunch break.

I'm here again!

Can't get enough of this place. Huge servings and great tasting food. My favorite is the Mongolian Beef. If you order a regular item off the menu, 2 people could easily eat from it.

Hidden gem

By Funkytown19 |

Excellent dish of chicken and broccoli and sweet and sour pork! Large portions! Delish and served quickly. Lots of take out done here.

Not good

By Scott D |

I know the quantity is high. Quality is very low. No flavor. Yelp let me down on this one. Beef with broccoli and fried rice. Very disappointed all around.

The Best!

By Alex V |

I have been coming to this place for years, and they never disappoint! I always order the lo mein and a general tso big entree, and for under $20, I can feed my whole family! It's the absolute best, even if the lines are long because people don't seem to call ahead for their orders

Lunch close to work

By Kristie R |

My husband meets me here for lunch occasionally and my coworkers and I order maybe once a month. You get a lot of food for your money and the eggrolls are good. The rest is so so.

Huge portions

By TravelIntl |

Small Chinese restaurant with friendly service. Portions are huge. One dish can easily feed 3 people. Food is decent - more like fast-food Chinese takeout.

Great soup must experimce

Can be great sometimes

By Cheryl H |

We have been going to Née Hao for years. I don't know what makes the difference but sometimes the food is seriously the best I have ever eaten. Other times it is just really not good at all. I've gotten fried rice that makes you drool to think about it and it's dark and wonderful. Other times you get there and it is soggy and light colored fried rice. I always get lo mien and sometimes the noodles are just mushy and the vegetables are huge! Other times, again, it is the most amazing I have ever eaten. The portions are huge and the staff is extra friendly. Ignore the outside, it looks grim but on a good day you won't find any better food.

Gigantic Portions

By FrontRoow |

Good Hole-in-the-Wall, Gigantic Portions. The menu is standard Chinese selections/combos with Egg Roll, Fried Rice. However, the portions are Gigantic for $10. Truly Texas - Sized ... Well done !! Limited parking spaces.

Nee Hao Truth Speaket

I go here every now and then and it's amazing. Have been coming here since I was a kid. It's hot, spicy, fresh off the grill and filling in many ways. I love the Singapore fried rice, it's my favorite dish and has been forever. I love going here after work and getting a dish, I don't care if my work is an hour away, I will come here and I will get my food. The people are so nice, I love the friendly environment when I go in and eat in or get food for take out. The friendly atmosphere despite it ALWAYS being hectic is so mind boggling. It always being full just shows how good they are as a restaurant. I'm a nee hao believer, through and through.

Not that great

By SPD622 |

After seeing all the reviews online, I was hoping for a good experience. It was packed when I went, which is what all the reviews said. However after getting my food and tasting it, the sweet-and-sour chicken was overly greasy. It also tastes is if the grease were pretty old. The Egg roll was good, but again the old grease taste ruined the experience. You do get a lot of food, but I don't think the quality was that good compared to many other Chinese places. Will not be going back.

Great food

By Charlette B |

Don't look at the building....It looks like it would not be a good place to eat, but trust me you are missing out on a treasure. You can feed a family of four on one entree. I love the fried rice, General Tso's Chicken, the rangoons and the egg rolls. I have to say it is super reasonable too. If you are looking for quantity on a budget good choice.

ASIAN FOOD MIXED WITH CRACK, LOL, VERY ADDICTING

By sam k |

Looks like a hole in the wall on the outside but that's usually the best places. This place stays busy. If you are trying to eat healthy than stay away, haha. I always get the garlic chicken with chicken fried rice. Cost about $10.50 but you can feed up to 3 people on that on plate. Very good food with big portions. The area it's in is not the best but it's worth getting shot at to get this yummy food.

Needed a Great Asian by the Airport Hotel

By Foodmom |

So our family drove 3 hours & was flying out early the next morning from IAH and wanted yummy Asian close to the hotel before flying out. The reviews looked enticing. Ha when we pulled up I could see my kids eyes wide open!!! The restaurant is in a colorful strip mall and just different from our little east Texas town. Do not go for the environment or decor or ambience! Go for the food and dress down. Anyway we were seated quickly, beverages and food order taken right away. The place was all a buzz w/ activity w/ patrons in the door and the drive thru. Our food came quickly and was plentiful and very tasty. We ordered a Special fried rice, Kung Pao chicken, beef and broccoli & few spring rolls. Delicious !!! Except for the spring rolls were doughy. Quality, flavor and quantity all hit the mark! My son wanted to go back when we returned from our trip!!!

great food

i have had a lot on this menu and everything so far has beem great and really big portions, they really make sure you are full before you leave their restaurant!

Good food if you can ignore the condition of the restaurant

By LSUdad4 |

Good food. Friendly service for a to-go order. Only waited about 6 minutes. Hole-in-the-wall in a strip mall 40 feet behind a gas station, 7 minutes' drive from airport hotels. Restaurant is decrepit. I'm sure we would have enjoyed it much less if we had eaten there instead of getting it to go, because we would've had more time to look at the place. Looks like they moved in 20 years ago and haven't given it a good scrubbing since. Restroom needs renovation, was like a greasy gas station restroom, but at least the sink had been cleaned and stocked with soap and towels. Has short hours, closes at 8pm. Popular with locals, saw lots of to-go pick-ups and several families and couples eating generous portions. A large box ($10) is plenty for 2 people. Food taste and friendly service changes this from a 1-star review to 4 stars.

Best Deal in ALL of Houston!

By Bob F |

I've been going to Nee Hao for more than 7 years. Located closer to Humble and within 5 minutes from IAH Airport off Beltway 8 feeder road. While it's located in a questionable area and the place looks somewhat questionable, the food is amazingly good and the portions are enough for two people. Two can easily dine for under $15, including large drinks. The owner is always hustling around, taking care of everyone! It's busy for a reason---make sure you arrive before 8pm (closing time). Hands down, the best deal in the area!!!

Take Out Only at Present

By BIG D |

I suppose they got lazy during covid and now that has passed and they remain take out only. Someone described it as a hole in the wall and that is a true fit. It is not clean looking and hasn't been in years. Nobody is putting forth any effort to clean anything that I can see. The food is really good and the portions are large. The prices are really more reflective of a nicer sit down restaurant. The place is in total disarray with the chairs and tables moved around where you can only sit and wait for your order. I can only imagine if the front of the house is this bad the back has to be as bad or worse. This is a blue collar part of town and they can survive just like they have for many more years so who cares? I gave them average only because the food is above average the rest is a negative off the scale.

Worth the walk

By Dwight D |

I was in Houston for the Hurricane Harvey on business. I didn't want to eat at the hotel so I found this Chinese place 2 miles from the hotel. I walked through an industrial park which was an easy walk. When I went in it was 20 minutes till closing and the place was packed with to-go orders. Huge portions very quick, service fresh vegetables. I had the egg rolls which were fairly small and the vegetable fried rice which was unbelievable. It probably weighed a pound and a half. A small serving could serve two. Inside a strip mall behind the gas station but worth the walk from John F Kennedy. Always trust my reviews.
