Long wait for Sunday Brunch

By A J |

My party of three took in Sunday brunch here. We waited an hour to be seated. It was crowded and seemed like the place to be. We witnessed two parties, one of 5 and another party of 3, get seated before us. While we waited outside, we saw both parties drive up so we know that they weren’t there before us. I guess it pays to know people and be well connected. Nonetheless, I liked the way the restaurant look. Band was phenomenal and food was ok. Jerk chicken and waffles were good but I thought the chicken was slightly undercooked. I was visiting from out of town and overall enjoyed it, despite the wait.

Delicious food!

By JimBuerstatte |

Food was great and, in my mind, pricey. This needs to be put in context. I normally eat Jamaican food where the price is lower, but there is no atmosphere or ambiance and no wait staff. Our server was amazing. I will go back to have the Oxtail and Pasta dish. The appetizers were very tasty as well.

Authentic Jamaican food

By CUTiger81 |

I met a colleague here for lunch one day. He is Jamaican so I trusted him with knowing good Jamaican food. Let me say that I was truly surprised with the freshness and quickness of the food. Everything was reasonably priced as well. I look forward to going here again.

Caribbean deliciousness before the Fox

By Donna W |

Before the Fox concert, we wanted a close by restaurant, within a couple of blocks. This one was a short walk and perfect! Fast service, delicious and simple choices, great drinks and dessert. We tried the empanadas to start followed by Jerk Chicken with rice & peas (kidney beans) and slaw. All very good. My favorite was the bread pudding! Just scrumptious. I recommend this restaurant for a quick meal before a Fox show.

Good food

By Regen W |

Made a reservation online, but it apparently didn’t go through. They sat us anyway. Delightful service. Good food. Kinda pricey.

Great Food!

By La-Dreya |

The food is great, sometimes you get mixed messages about the service and if reservations can be made or not. The food is what keeps me coming back.

remember tip included, they won’t remind you

By Sandra M |

So the food isn’t as good as it used to be but that’s not the issue. we saw that they added a 20% tip for parties of TWO, but forgot about it by the time the bill came. The service was really bad that evening, and when they gave me the machine i noticed it had a suggested tip of three low percentages. I had a whole conversation with the waiter how he should tell the manager to get that fixed as they were suggesting really low tips and the staff was going to get screwed. i then bypassed the suggestion and left 20% (even though they didn’t deserve that but it has to be horrible for me to leave less). Another person brought me my receipt and didn’t say anything. It was clear that I gave them a 40% tip and they stayed silent. And I know they were hoping I wouldn’t notice? the few times I’ve left a tip that size, the staff always says “thank you”. Yes, i forgot. but when i specifically said to the waiter the machine was “broken” and should be fixed, and then left 20%, they should have reminded me that 20% was already added. Unethical at best.

Great Restaurant

By MissBrown |

Everything about this location I love. The Servers, the staff, the food, and the drinks. No complaint what so ever. I come every single time I’m in town

Horrible Customer Service and Rude Management.

By Angelique C |

Nice vibe. Good service. Food was good (I had waffles and jerk chicken) out of 8 people only one person had an issue with their food and sent it back for another dish. The manager Tasha came out very aggressively and rude. Not proper customer service, was yelling and questioning everyone at the table. I’ve never experienced anything like that and will never return to this restaurant. Good but not great Jamaican food somewhat pricey for portions size.

This Place is Awesome!

By ah64fish |

I can't believe we've only been here twice to actually eat dinner, since we love it so much. Ask to sit upstairs on Friday and Saturday nights. The DJ was killing it last night but also not so loud that you can't have a conversation. We started with jerk wings (very spicy), jerk chicken empanadas, cod balls and then egg rolls for the table, and all were really good. I had the ox tails last night, and they were ridiculously good! My wife had the jerk salmon (not on the menu upstairs, but you can order it), and we had mac n cheese for the table. The mac was damn good! The sangria was also amazing, but don't drink as much of it as I did. Lol!

Every now and then you roll double sevens.

By Skeeterfitz |

Such a cool venue. Food and service were great. A true gem of a find. Marcus (one of owners) visited twice. Cam was great waitress. Can’t wait to return.

Great Venue! Even better food!

By Ashley M |

Negril Village for Sunday Brunch is the best place to go! The restaurant has a beautiful patio and indoor setting. They offer a buffet brunch that includes the most genuine hostess, the livest DJ, and the best food ever!! My girl friends and I had a wonderful time, we will visit again the next time we’re in town! By the way, go early - it gets crowded and the mom wait time is 1.5hr.

Birthday Brunch

By imariw |

My friend who came for my birthday recommended we eat here for brunch. The food was decent. The mimosas were great! We had a party of 5 and we were able to sit down immediately because I made a reservation a few weeks back. I ordered the French toast which was very good and fulfilling and I ordered a side of bacon which was very salty but then again I’m used to eating low sodium turkey bacon. My other friend got the jerk chicken and waffles which she enjoyed. I had a taste of her chicken which was very seasoned. My friend ordered a side of eggs which had no taste and were slightly watery. We also ordered the side of Mac and cheese which was a good size portion however it had no flavor. The mimosas were delicious, my two friends split a small one and my other two friends and myself split a large. The three of us were able to have three glasses each. Overall I had a great experience.

A Little Somethin' Different for Dinner

By Toni K |

Tried a little Jamaican food for dinner and really enjoyed it! Not too many choices for vegetarians or vegans as most of the dishes have seafood or some sort of meat in the them. (I ended up eating rice & beans, tostones and whipped sweet potato.) The building is beautiful, and I really loved the ambience. The host and our waiter were extremely friendly and answered all of our questions. The prices are a little high, but we still enjoyed it. There is also a really nice, huge bar for a drink!

Great food and service

By Sandy P |

Our group arrived a little late due to traffic but the staff was awesome and had us fed and out the door in time for our show at the Fox. The food was excellent, and the restaurant is located in a beautiful older building. We'll be back!

Service training needed

By segbonie g |

The food is good but service is spotty (if I'm being generous than service is ok). Keysha was our server. The food is a tad bit overpriced for the portion you receive and the kitchen time is ridiculous. We ordered appetizers and waited more than 15 min. I had the jerk chicken ( if you're tongue can't handle spicy than don't order anything with the jerk sauce) and warm cornbread ( which wasn't warm at all) the guava jelly that came with the cornbread was amazing! The cornbread was ok but The jerk wings were great. I was a little disappointed by the Dj seeing that he barely played reggae/ soca music and we were at a Jamaican restaurant/ bar ( mainly came to listen to some good soca). Maybe I'll come back for brunch but I'm in no rush to patron this restaurant again

Disappointed and angry

By pnmehta |

After watching Hamilton we went to this much talked about place a little late in the night.....my son had made reservations through a web based app and had an e mail as a confirmation for that time. When we reached we are told the kitchen was closed and they couldn't seat us. The staff member at the entrance appeared to be rude, unconcerned and seemed to have some attitude towards South Asians judging from the way he talked to us. We politely stood our ground and showed the e mail whereupon they reluctantly gave us a table. The waitress serving us however was warm, friendly and very helpful. My son and wife had a great meal but I ordered the Roti with curried chicken which was extremely heavy, insipid in taste and not at all to my liking....the attitude of the person who we met at the beginning left a bad taste....and it wasn't a cheap place either...wouldn't go there again..hope the management is reading this...we were there on the night of 25th May....please talk to the guy on duty in the night that time who was seating guests...

Buffet was good

By Jennifer R |

I can only review based on the buffet. I chose to eat upstairs for the brunch buffet. As a southern girl with an island background, I found the food to be very good but what I liked most was the pitcher of mimosa for only $8. I would definitely be returning when I visit Atlanta again.

Make sure you pay for parking!! Lol

By Lezlie B |

We tried to make it here for brunch but unfortunately we're too late so we tried another day. The brunch scene here seems amazing life entertainment! Ended up going couple days after for lunch, great food everything was delicious no complaints really! Jerk chicken wasn't your typically spicy grilled chicken but still delicious none the less. We got couple things and shared including oxtails, the snapper, jerk n waffles and a side of Mac! Nice environment to enjoy an Jamican food in a upscale manner! Only downside we forgot to pay for parking and got a boot which was 75 bucks almost as 2/3 the bill

Club/Restaurant

By AK |

Great customer service. Greeted vibrantly on the phone and when I walked through the door. Ordered meal for take out so I can't speak to the sit down service, but from my observation during the wait, ALL customers looked happily attended to. The music stay bumpin. This was my first visit and I felt like I was back in Negril. Love all the colored folk up and through here. Wish I had stayed to dance!!!

Best Jamaican jerk chicken

By Google reviewSimin.t |

Great curry’s , the jerk chicken outside of Jamaica. Must go place for good food and atmosphere. I’m a vegetarian and the rice and beans is best I’ve ever had. Cons: wine list can be improved.

Girl's brunch

By jsakina24 |

My girlfriends and I went there for brunch and bottomless mimosa. The staff was courteous and the music was great. Parking is $10 and valet is $20. The buffet was ok but not worth $25. The bottomless mimosa was $15 and on top of that they add 20% gratuity to your bill.

Pleasantly Surprised

By LeNiccki T |

This was a late evening bite with friends. The chicken empanadas were very good although not pictured. It can be pricey for the amount of food but it is tasty. The jerk chicken and waffles had a different spin and a hint of pineapple. Over all the Mac and Cheese was made with super sharp cheese and it was delicious. Food came out quickly and just fyi the menu is pretty limited.

Brunch Fun, Fashunn, & Delicious inside old Fire Station

By ShareBug |

The food, the staff, the music AND the customers are worth it. You can really feel the heat on your tongue and the buzz in your temples while chewing and sipping. The dishes are SO Caribbean in name, ingredient, flavor and portion. I love the ackee and sailfish. Plus the classic chicken and waffles. You can choose red velvet or pineapple waffle. What you cannot choose is a PLAIN waffle because what is plain food from the Caribbean? The mimosa is crafted from 5 fresh squeezed juices and the run punch packs a body blow. Both are offered in a carafe for group sharing. I don't know if the sugar or the alcohol gave me the biggest buzz. LOL. But I do know I could not leave any food or beverage behind. On Sunday's there is live music from 2-4p (please call to confirm). There is a vibe of Atlanta's creative community constantly flowing through. The clothing, hair, swag is undeniable. I suggest reservations on Sunday. Lunch and dinner menus available too. No free parking.

Restaurant

By Cynthia F |

Nice Caribbean environment with tasty food. Restaurant is located downtown ATL with a convenient parking lot that cost $5.00.

Great food before the show.

By eyedoc1952 |

My girfriend and eye enjoyed a wonderful meal prior to attending the show at the fox. We were able to walk a short distance after our meal and were very pleased with the convience as well as the meal and service.

Open For Business !!

By CobaltConnection |

Our first time here. Although TripAdvisor says it is closed, it is definitely open !! Very good service. Authentic, delicious food. Will return on weekends for the live music.

Good Food nice place

By Perpetual Motion |

Met a friend for dinner here not knowing what to expect. Well I was pleasantly surprised. Located in an old Fire House in midtown with parking right next door. Nicely decorated in a clean, modern style with a long bar to the left as you enter. Menu is limited but the food is very good. I had the whole fish ($28) and is was large and very well done. Small but good wine list. Service was proper and attentive without hovering. Would go again.

Brunch

By KACDavis |

I had heard the buzz of Negril Village and their brunch and wanted to try it out for sometime. Finally convinced my family to go with me. We had an awesome meal. We started out with the chicken empanadas served with chicken gravy. These were tasty and crispy. I ordered the jerk chicken and waffles and loved the flavors. The jerk had the right level of spice no the waffle was the perfect compliment. My son ordered the banana foster French toast and it too was amazing! I'll definitely be back to try the buffet and other offerings from the menu. Nice scene and ambiance.

Where is my Food????

By Tiffany H |

The Restaurant had good vibes, The live band was nice, but I wish I could give a comment about the food but I cant. My food arrived in sections or not at all. I order all side items sort of a put together veggie plate. Beans and Rice with Mac and Cheese along with Cabbage. The beans and rice came out fine. The Mac was refrigerator cold and I never received my cabbage. I asked our server if he could heat up the mac he took the item but never returned. The manager did come over once the check came and stated "I took care of the cabbage and mac". I thought that meant ill bring your food items out to go but nope! He said "I didn't charge you for the missing items". Well of course you didn't Sir because I never got them. I would of much rather have had my order food. I left here hungry and a little pissed that I had just spent 11/2 to eat just rice.

Will definitely go back

By LTher |

Dinner before a show at The Fox. Convenient if you want to park and walk from the restaurant. Awesome vibe. Takes reservations. All of our meals were good. Loved my oxtail mushroom pasta. Our vegetarian had the kalabash stew. Kale spring roles were delish. Topped off with bread pudding. Nice poor on the wine. We saw quick a few specialty drinks being served. Those are on our list for next time.

wanted something different on a weekend get away in atlanta

Simply Awesome...

By Mahen |

A group of us from Malaysia attending the Rotary International Convention in Atlanta was recommended to this Caribbean restaurant by a fellow member from Malaysia and we made the reservations accordingly! It was raining cats and dogs that evening and due to that their outside "alfresco type seating outside the restaurant was closed and we (group of 12) were made to wait nearly an hour more than the time we made reservation!! So if it's raining and if you are hungry go elsewhere, you'll be made to wait. Now comes the best bit, the moment we sat our orders were taken promptly and served very quickly.., and the food? It's simply out of the world 🌎. My wife had Jerk Chicken and I had Shrimp and Grits, and my friend sitting next to me had Negril's Oxtail and all of it was simply too good (I had a bite of their food, to try). I never had tasted food prepared this way ever before. The food was spicy! (Chili hot I mean) nevertheless my tolerance for spice was higher, so I requested for some chili or hot sauce or anything at all which will spice up my food. And the server brought me a small serve of humble looking "orange coloured sauce" and I added it to my food! Boy oh boy!! Wow that sauce hit the roof! It was super spicy yet palatable (for me). I suppose I should have added a small portion first to try. Overall the experience was super great and the next time I'm in Atlanta, Negril Village is a must visit! Please do make a reservation and if it rains, be prepared to wait. And you'll be so please you dined here. Enjoy ...

Good Food

By Anne C |

Made reservation for dinner before the play. It was perfect proximity to the Fox. We made it to our show in no time and the valet parking there kept our car until we go t back from our show. The food was good. I ordered the curry goat and my husband ordered the oxtail. Both we very good. I definitely recommend the rum punch. It is so good, but not for light weights.

The Classiest Island Food in Town

By Lucy |

The food is excellent. The taste, the presentation and the options are all great. My waitress was very pleasant and engaging and made us feel super comfortable. The cabaret singer walks around in her performance. Tip: You won't be seated until all your party arrives so tell that driver to park quickly and hurry on in :)

Thanksgiving weekend

By Frenz6 |

The reviews have price range $$-$$$ it should be $$$-$$$$ food was way overpriced , none of the beverages are free refill not even the soda, parking is extremely expensive especially since the restaurant decides to use their entire yard for valet and the attendants drove your car about five steps away from the front door of the restaurant .The food was ok. I wouldn't go back to eat though ,oxtails or curry goat is not worth $22-$24 a plate.

Good vibes and great atmosphere

By Kawshin |

Took a trip to Negril before the Alvin Ailey ballet. Got there early around 5pm. The kitchen was closed until 6pm but you could still order from the bar. Drinks were good and strong. Normally priced for a bar in downtown Atlanta. We didn't have a reservation so when 6:00 came it was hectic getting a table. We were told by the hostess we would have a table at 6 since we were already there. Long story short, it got very busy, we weren't offered a table until almost 6:30 and by then we had already ordered food since we were sitting at the bar. I had jerk chicken and waffles and it was great! Also ordered a appetizer of empanadas, they were very good but you only get 2 :( other than that the experience was great. Food came out fast and hot and we were able to drink and eat before the show. We will be going back for happy hour soon. Also, parking is kind of hectic being the lot is so small, if you can, ride Marta because the station is less than a block away. Parking that night was $20 but we stayed until the show was over.

Not impressed

By Enjoytothefullest |

Ambiance was nice. Parking not good. Food..could have been better. Service...our waiter very quiet. Didn't even introduce himself. We had to ask him if we could order drinks etc.

Oxtails, YES! Curried Shrimp, NO!

By Harith R |

The Picky Eater is from Jamaica! She is very proud of this fact and, somewhat of a snob when it comes to Jamaican cooking. I was told, emphatically, that this is a "Caribbean" restaurant, not solely a Jamaican restaurant. This allows her to critically review the Jamaican dishes, while directing my attention to the etymology of the other dishes. That aside: I know what I like. The food and ambience are very nice. The wait staff is excellent and can reasonably explain the preparation to the uninitiated. We sat outside, as it was a warm spring night and just before dusk. I ordered chicken empanadas as an appetizer and the Picky Eater ordered codfish fritters, both were tasty and excellently prepared - though rather smallish in portion size. I ordered a ginger beer, which was awful - no sweetness whatsoever and just a hint of acidic ginger. The Picky Eater ordered a sorrel drink, which was long on sugar/sweetness and short on actual sorrel flavor. We mixed them and they were passable - even pretty good. Go figure! The kitchen was a bit slow in getting our food out, so we ordered the corn bread, which was remarkably good. Fresh, moist, and full of flavor. I ordered the Curry Shrimp and she ordered Oxtails. This was the worst curried shrimp I've ever had at a Jamaican/Caribbean restaurant. It did have a good curry flavor, along with the proper color. The shrimp were average size (nothing special to brag or complain about), but it had no heat to it - at all. It was flat and without any punch. Even though it contained 8-9 shrimp, I felt disappointed. The Picky Eater reminded me that this wasn't Jamaican Curry Shrimp, but a Caribbean-style curry shrimp. In the future, I'll pass. The Picky Eater swooned while eating the Oxtails, declaring them the absolute best she'd had in the US. We dined with family, so she shared them with other expatriates and they too declared them the "Real Deal". We skipped dessert. I would dine here again, when I am next in Atlanta, and either insist they put some scotch bonnet sauce in my curried shrimp or I'd order something else - maybe the fabulous oxtails. This pardonable sin cost them a star in my book, which should take them to 3 stars, but the Picky Eater's oxtail meal mitigates it, so 4 stars.

Great food, great service -

By Maikokw |

Went there twice in one trip as we were at the crown plaza nearby. Went there for brunch and dinner. Ate almost all of the apps on one visit; split the oxtail and salad with a friend on the 2nd visit (there with a group of 9) - the service was friendly, waitstaff and bartenders helpful. The place is really lovely inside. Would highly recommend!

Don't even bother stopping here

By Christie J |

Service was awful and there's an automatic 20% tip added (doesn't have to be a large party). The food was burnt, and some items came out sparingly making your meal incomplete foe hours. Asked for manager, she wouldn't or couldn't come address our issues and had several complaints. At least four. Patrons were talking amongst themselves and asking if everyone was having problems. On top of that the prices are extremely operated for the quality of food. Left with a $450 tab for 4 people, and we didn't even eat everything because of the quality.

Worst service ever!

By JanetCapri |

Very poor service! Took us two hours to be seated. We had to enter the door and walk through the band. Waitress was very nice but slow. She dropped drink on me and no manager stopped by table to apologize. Food was mediocre and it was too loud from band and too hot from being over crowded. Stay away from this place! The best one is in NYC! Very disappointed.

Refined Jamaican

By BoltonYankee |

Great food in a renovated historic firehouse. Really good takes on popular Jamaican favorites. The jerk chicken is excellent, as is the curry. Like all Jamaican restaurants, the curry and jerk are cut up with a cleaver so expect to work around some bones. This is one of those places where I wish TripAdvisor had a 4 1/2.

Girl’s Day

By Glowee |

I was visiting Atlanta for my winter break and me and my girlfriends decided to do a Girl’s Day and we started off at Negril. It was very busy and the wait was 1 hour. The music was loud and the Brunch buffet was limited. We decided to eat off the regular menu and I am glad we did. The food was delicious and full of flavor. I would definitely return but they need to lower the music, we could only talk with the musicians were on break. That is why I didn’t give the restaurant five stars.

Carribbean Flavor to Savor!

By Call_dani |

This visit to Atlanta I wanted to stop by here for the brunch. However, we didn't make brunch but had a quick lunch before heading home. I ordered the oxtails and my friend had the jerk chicken, it was superb!!! Be weary of the pepper sauce, it has a real authentic spice. Great spot for good food and an inviting atmosphere!

Great Caribbean Restaurant

By delstateque393 |

Oxtails are great, fish, wings, curry chicken, ect.. the bar is awesome drinks are good. My son told the waitress that he loved the wings and the chef came out to tell him thank you. Should have saw the smile on the 7 year olds face

Island Breakfast

Yo! Hands down the best Jerk Chicken and Waffles I have ever had! Atmosphere was Great and I will be coming back when I am in ATL again!

Love us some Jamaican food!!!

By Teacher20052013 |

When we first arrived it was just beginning to fill up but it did so quickly and rightly so. The food is the best we have had outside of Jamaica and tour server was wonderful. Dominque was professional, personable, and knowledgeable.

Good food

Good food, nice drinks, but the place is loud as heck. I would recommend this place if you like Jamaican food

Authentic Jamaican food and wonderful rum punch is a celebratory setting

By Lockie H |

What a gorgeous restaurant! And the best rum punch I have ever had. We are cliff jumpers/divers, so we go to Negril (in Jamaica) with some frequency. When I saw this restaurant had ackee and saltfish, I was super excited. I have ackee and saltfish every day for breakfast when we are in Negril, and so I was hoping this restaurant (bearing the namesake of one of our favorite places) would have a wonderful version of this. I was not disappointed! It was excellent! And a big portion. My husband had the oxtail pasta. Also excellent. The rum punch was sublime and the restaurant is beautiful. High ceilings, and really fun vibe. I think the best part was how celebratory everything felt. So many people were celebrating special events and taking photos or on a special date and just having a beautiful time. The server was attentive without being obtrusive. Overall, I loved this experience! We also had the collard green spring rolls, and, although I loved the flavor, they were a little greasy. That is my only complaint, so I saved it as a little note at the end. It was really such a small complaint, that it was hardly worth mentioning, although I’m wondering if they can dial back a wee bit on the oil on that appetizer! Other than that, our meal was perfection.

Nice vibe

By Lakeitha_d |

I loved the vibe in here. Great live music, but the food was just ok. The staff was friendly. I'll give it another shot next time I'm in town.

Second chance

By Kimberly B |

After giving this place a second chance they still had horrible customer service. I can say from 2 experiences that its totally overrated and not worth going here because you will not be treated with care. I will probably never visit again because the service is extremely bad. They need total new staff and a new system working out reservations and parking. I took my God Mother for her birthday and she did not like any of the whole experience. SAD PLEASE DO BETTER NEGRIL

Mother's Day Brunch Buffet

By Crystal N |

Parking was minimal but there was a valet option that costs double what it costs to self-park. Some people had reservations and they accepted walk-ins as well. Things seemed a bit scattered until we finally got to our seat but it was worth the wait. There was a DJ playing music while we ate some authentic Jamaican food. I had the jerk chicken, rice, salad, curry shrimp, potatoes, greens, and cornbread. I gave it a four because of the long wait and lack of parking plus the bill for the food was much more expensive than I anticipated. It was $175 for 3 adults and 1 child which I think is too much, especially for buffet food and they had a strict 1 1/2 hour seating policy. Basically, we have to be in and out and gone in under an hour and a half.

Well Cooked Food, Overdone Prices

By Mich1209 |

As a West Indian I was eager to try the food and went for the curry goat staple. It was done well and tasted authentic portion size was good. Felt pricey, but that may be because I'm used to having it at home. The hostess was slow and service a bit delayed but nice surroundings and decent food makes it worth a visit.

Great Food

By Redkross1 |

The food and service here is awesome! I had the Jerk Chicken, Rice and Beans, Cabbage, with a side of Mac N Cheese. Recommended by the bartender and she was right the Jerk Chicken is to die for! Defiantly will go back here next time I'm in Atlanta.

Enjoyable dinnner!

By sinawanders |

We passed by this restaurant while on the way to the Fox Theater and chose it because of their nice little cortyard, where you can sit outside. The service was outstanding and so was the food. They served excellent drinks as well. Really liked the interior design of the restaurant. Literally nothing to complain about, nice and still authentic place to try jamaican food!

Meh....Avoid it if you can...

By LalaAcharya |

Food not tasty, limited quantity, high price point. Only if they made it taste delicious, I would have turned a fan but its like a 1 or 2 on a 10 point scale. Server at Bar was good though!! The person at the reception needs more training to be in the service sector!!

Great place-awesome building!

By J P |

We ate at Negril Village last night before a show at the Fox Theater. The food and the service was very good (a little slow on the service)but good! The building itself it very cool, and has a lot of character. For those who have issues with going up stairs, the restrooms are on the second floor, and there are quite a bit of stairs to get to them. The overall experience was a wonderful one and we will certainly dine there again!

Waiter wasn't very nice

By 77Swan |

He was just doing his job. He seem frustrated with our party. But the food is good. Wasn't great but good. Rum punch was gooooood. I love the live band. Able to watch games.

Best Friend Dinner date

By SexxyDivaa |

Utilize the online restaurant reservation app. Thankful for the reminders. i wish happy hour ran a little longer. LOL, Rhum Punch was fantastic. Truly enjoyed appetizers. Ackee and salfish was season to taste. The only thing I would suggest is turn down the music. I know it's Friday night however 8PM guest are still having dinner so conversation is occuring. Probably transition the volume 9:30/10PM club time.

SOOOOO good!

By 2happi |

This was our 1st visit and it was fantastic! Many of our friends reported what a great time they had so we just had to try it and we were very pleased. Loved the décor: open, clean, tall ceilings and beautiful chandeliers and best of all... great island music!!Started with "Ting"-grapefruit soda and a coconut water from a can, followed by the delicious hot corn bread! Next up was the jerk chicken, peas & rice with plantains and cabbage; and oxtail pasta...well seasoned, hot and tender! Had ice cream and bread pudding for the closer to a wonderful dining experience enhanced by our gracious server, Quan! Will definitely go again soon....

Fantastic Restaurant

By Beverlyn M |

Very lively restaurant, The Food was absolutely amazing, service was very good, staff were very friendly, we came from London with my elderly Jamaican Mum & she was well impressed with the food. We would definitely go again,

Very nice restaurant food is really good as well!

By jmelissaprentice |

Went to this restaurant with a large group! Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the Escovitch Fish!, it was delicious! Surprising you do have to pay for things like Rice and Peas with some dishes. With large groups they will not split to check, which is annoying and they only allow a few credit cards. So if you are in a large group bring cash! Also, you have to pay $20 just to park and eat. So be prepared. The restaurant used to be a fire station, so that was cool. The inside of the restaurant is pretty cool and there's a whole upstairs area with music, if that's your thing! I do recommend!

Great food Great staff

By thetattooedlady |

From the moment we walked in the door, we knew this was going to be good! Our hostess was so friendly and welcoming, and the smells were mouth watering. Our server, Shamar, was there when we needed him, but never hovering. Service was impeccable. We had cornbread, oxtail pasta, Caesar salad with jerk chicken, ginger beer and hot tea. Everything was delicious! Next time we are in Atlanta we will definitely return to have the oxtail entree and the autumn salad.

Wonderful food & vibe close to the Fox Theatre

We needed a pre-theatre dinner and we won the lottery by finding this place. The vibe is energetic, the service was friendly and the food delicious!!! The prices were very reasonable like most places in Atlanta. The oxtail pasta was unbelievably good. The portions are very large so be careful. We didn't order an apps and had zero room for dessert. If we were able to go again (and I would) I'd split an app and the main with someone so I could have something sweet at the end!

Top Notch Food & Service

By RickNyce |

The experience was amazing. Busy Saturday night in town with a very short wait time. The waitress was amazing, she knew the menu very well. Everything arrived right on time and at the right temperature. The atmosphere was great. Yes the price was high but it was worth it.

Exceptional experience and food!

By Ehsan C |

Exceptional service coupled with authentic food! I don't rave about many places. In fact, there's been only one other place I've raved about and that was in Lisbon. Negril Village would be my second. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming with a touch of neighborhood finesse. The entire experience becomes exceptional when the service is just perfect and the food is perfectly prepared and presented. I found both here. The wait staff are always on point, never bothering during your dining experience but keenly observant and present and well timed in attendance. The food brings the true tastes of the Caribbean, and not "domesticated" to the local palate. The empanda's are filled with deliciousness, tying textures and tastes very well. If you like crab cakes, the codfish fritters will blow you away and make you a convert. The jerk salmon is seasoned just right, not too overpowering but letting you know it's there and it's from the ocean. If you like goat, the curried goat is downright heavenly. The Sangria's are the best in midtown. Hands down. And they have Kalik beer from the Bahamas! If I didn't live over an hour away, I'd be dining here at least once a week!

Festive small restaurant

By SLAMMMGMT |

For my wife's birthday, she wanted to go to Negril Village for brunch. Having not eaten at the restaurant, I was excited to eat there. I also had a roommate who worked at that location as a fire fighter, many years ago....the restaurant was previously the home of the North Avenue Fire Dept. We were seated very quickly, which has probably due to us arriving on Sunday morning, prior to noon. We sat on the first floor, which provides you a brunch menu to order from - the 2nd floor offers a buffet brunch, which is not offered on the first floor. The waitress was very attentive and explained the menu. She also explained that their famous Mimosa's could not be served until 12:30, along with all other alcoholic beverages. She informed us that at 12:30, they had a live band that would also perform...which was the downstairs draw. We order Chicken & Waffles and Shrimp & Grits, along with Plantains to share. The food was timely and quite flavorful. I can honestly say that I enjoyed my meal. As we were eating, the music began and our alcohol beverages were served. The restaurant is small, so the crowed swelled quickly. I am unsure of the wait time, but I can definitely recommend having a reservation, and coming earlier....before 12:30. The live music was very good and not too loud, which was a plus. The band played various Jazz & R&B songs. The restaurants clientele was primarily African American, but there was a good mixture of people and everyone was definitely welcomed. The restaurant seemed to be a big party location - I witnessed at leased 4 parties during my time at the restaurant. The food was beautifully seasoned and the service was good. My only complaint was the valet parking, which was $20 per car. I would recommend parking at the many parking lots close to the hotel and simply walking over.

So Very Good

Fell in love with location, staff, atmosphere, food - rice and peas with jerk chicken, shrimp and grits, and oh my the oxtails all amazing and fresh!

Outstanding Ambiance! Great music and amazing food! Will return for sure!!!

By jmelissaprentice |

First let me say that I am West Indian and get up eating Caribbean food! My friends and sister took me to Negril for my birthday dinner! I was pleasantly surprised! The ambiance is really cool! It’s an old fire station that they’ve turned into a beautiful restaurant. They have loud music downstairs and there’s a whole upstairs to the restaurant as well! The inside is huge! The music being loud wasn’t a negative… it was actually fun! Loved it and will be returning for sure! Oh wait…. The food was ON POINT!!!! I had the escovitch fish!!!! It was absolutely delicious!!! Would order the same dish again!

Nice atmosphere, decent food.

By Ricardosmith2 |

My experience here wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. The atmosphere is very good however everything else was a little disappointing. The staff seemed very confused when bringing out orders and several people came in long after my wife and I did but somehow received their food before we did. I was enjoying the time with my wife so I didn’t get too upset about it. The food was okay besides the fact that my wings were a bit undercooked. I would still recommend trying this place out; could have just been a bad night.

Everyone enjoyed!

By atlantadressage |

this is the second time we have eaten here bf going to the Fox We were a party of 8;we were seated very close to our reservation time.. The waitstaff was wonderful Our server, Alexis, was well versed in the manu offering, funny, informative and actually provided one of us w a sample.. She was well aware of a potential time issue. The food was promptly served. and all had only good comments about their dinners. The fruit punch was delicious and what can we say, the cornbread was a big hit! Thank you again for a great evening.

NEGRIL’S SUCKS

I ordered through Uber Eats and the THREE OXTAILS the gave for $30 were tough and tasteless!!!!!- Absolutely horrible. The plantain weee burnt the cabbage was AWEFUL!!! Shameful!

A Great Day Party Spot!!

By daniellemJ745UR |

Did brunch with friends noon on a Saturday!! Place was jumping. The service was great, very accommodating. We all tried something different since first time here. All very tasty, chicken spicy with the waffles. Only complaint, parking lot super tight, you will have a time getting in and out, and music wayyy to loud for downstairs. Apparently D.J. upstairs eith dance floor, needs to be contained more up there.

Food very good - way too noisy

By iliketotravel123 |

We had a group of 10 visit the Negril Village based on the good reviews. The food did not disappoint. I had the jerk chicken which was served with rice and peas, plaintains and cabbage. It was very good and flavorful. Several at the table had the jerk chicken and waffles. Everyone was pleased. The place was packed. But the noise was off the charts. There was a dj (awesome) but the music was way too loud. We had to shout at each other the entire time. I would probably not return but if the noise doesn't bother you, you'll enjoy the food.

Ya mon!!!

By Andres G |

Coming from Florida and having tried Jamaican food, this was no big thing for me. Man was I completely wrong. This restaurant has topped my experience and expectations for any Jamaican food I eat in the future. From the oxtail empanadas to the curried goat...everything was perfectly cooked and served. If you are in Atlanta, I would highly recommend this place. I know I’m coming back next time I’m in Atlanta.

Nice Place, Ok Food

By fancyj20 |

My husband and I wanted to have dinner here before a show at the Fox, but the place was booked, so our recommendation is make reservations about 2 weeks early for prime times (like Friday night at 6:30). We ended up calling in a to-go order after our show (maybe around 11:30PM). They told us our order would be ready in 15 minutes. It's walking distance from the Fox Theater, but we had to move our car in post event traffic, so we arrived at the restaurant about 25 minutes after we placed our oder. After several inquiries and another 25 minutes, we finally got our order. I ordered the ox tail, and my husband ordered the curried goat. We both had our entrees with rice and peas and cabbage; which also came with two plantains. I have to be honest and say I've had better. It was bad, it just wasn't $60 worth...not to mention the portions aren't huge. I feel like I could have gone to Cool Runnings and gotten the same. I will say that the restaurant is nice. Marble counter top, at the bar...great decor, and an outdoor patio playing life music. I can understand why people go for the scene. We also didn't have drinks, so maybe those are good too. I'm glad we got the food to-go. It's much to loud and busy for an intimate dinner.

Don’t come hungry

By niaknowsrealty |

Very disappointed in my experience, from the beginning our hostess did not guide us to a seat or provide details of how to order(its our first time) however she pointed to side tables near the bar for “walk-ins” . After 20mins of sitting my fiancé asked a passing waitress of “what to do”,then informed to “order at the bar”. Now this in itself is upsetting to not have full service as they auto charge 20% gratuities - The appetizer (cod fritters) did not come for 30mins and were over cooked! The resturant was not crowed so we are unsure why it took so long -but after speaking to a manager we finally get food(very well prepared) but the service was slow and took way too long.

Great food, great atmosphere.

By Tee C |

I ate here for the first time for my birthday in July. It was highly recommended by a friend that lives in the condos next door to it. I found the food to be amazing! The options all sounded so tasty but I settled on the salmon. Service was great and the atmosphere was great. There was live music and I absolutely loved the décor. I decided to return with some friends a few days later and we really enjoyed both the food and drinks this time. We had a small issue at the door with the host when we arrived. The kitchen was not set to open for another 30 min so they would not seat us. Additionally, when the kitchen did open they refused to seat us without reservation. Keep in mind that while we sat there for 30 min we were never asked about a reservation or told that we needed one to be seated. We asked if they were full and if we could still make a reservation. They said no they aren't full but they don't do same day reservations. Perplexed, we just walked out, but they quickly retrieved us and corrected themselves and we were able to be seated. So with that said, I would definitely return!

What an experience

By Russell B |

We were traveling from Europe and had bags on our backs and on our eyes . We stumbled on this place in the morning for breakfast. A very beautiful and warm Sunday brunch spot . We cannot wait to go back. This is a can’t miss in the ATL

Not exceptional

By Nefertiti D |

Went on a Saturday afternoon not knowing it was their brunch special. Very loud and full of millennials taking pictures of their plate lol. We ordered a la carte. We ordered the cornbread and the texture seemed like they forgot the eggs we had the jerk chicken and waffles....too much pepper. We also had the curry goat which was tough and needed to cook longer. I'm a regular at the NYC restaurant so I expected a comparable experience. Good enough it not amazing

20% gratuity added automatically

By Lhatoya R |

I understand including a gratuity automatically for parties of 6 or more. But not a party of 4. Plus, we waited over 15 minutes before someone even came for our drink orders, and only after we inquired with the Host. My husband said the waiter who eventually came had looked our way several times. The restaurant wasn't full, and it was unclear why there was a delay. I think if you know you're getting a 20% tip, there's no incentive to work hard. We had 2 adults, 2 teens, no special orders, no drinks from the bar. I would have tipped 15% because we were ignored, not 20%.

From Great to Garbage!

By Renee G |

I go to Negril at least twice a month, love the food and never had a problem with service. I even had my 40th birthday dinner there and my friend's 40th here too per my recommendation. Last night I went & ordered to go. The to go parking space was taken so I parked in 37. I ran in and asked the hostess was I ok to park there for a to go order or should I pay since it was not the to go parking spot. She ASSURED me SEVERAL times that I was fine. 12 min later, I go outside and there's a boot on my car! I go back in and let her know and she says, "Oh that's not our parking lot." "Well, why did you tell me I could park there?" "They usually don't do that?" "No ma'am, that's not acceptable." So, I speak with the mgr who looks like a deer in headlights, says nothing but, "She shouldn't have told you that but we can't do anything about it." I ask for my money back and hand them my food and let him know that since I now have to pay $75, this dinner is no longer in my budget. He refunds my money & does not even offer me the food even though I specifically drove downtown to patronage their business. He actually tried to act as if I was trying to get over! DISGUSTING & UNREAL. I really cannot believe they behaved this way. WORST SERVICE I've had in way too long! If you're employee causes the customer unexpected financial grief, It's common sense that you should AT LEAST take partial responsibility. I will not stop until this is rectified. You don't treat good and loyal customers this way! MANAGEMENT WAS WRONG and you all WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THAT AND MAKE IT RIGHT!

A taste of Island Life in Atlanta

By nhoetker |

We had a fun group dinner on a Thursday night. We shared the Collard Green Spring Rolls, which were phenomenal, and the Cornbread appetizer, which was very good. I ate the whole Red Snapper, which was perfectly cooked, crispy coated outside (not at all greasy) and a fantastic light tomato sauce poured over with chunks of stewed tomatoes and okra with a few bell peppers in there, too. Moderately spicy, my mouth had a pleasant buzz. Had their Jamaican Moscow Mule which was very tasty, too. Others enjoyed their Oxtail Pasta, Negril's Oxtails entree, Jerk Chicken & Pineapple Waffle, and Calabash Stew. One member of our group went back for more spring rolls another night. I dreamed about my Red Snapper.

Island food supreme

By inthelakearea |

Jerk salmon, oxtails. It's all great. Good food, good atmosphere, great service. We enjoyed our meal so much.

Delicious!

By Lanae S |

My family and I went for brunch on a Sunday at the top portion of the restaurant. The all-you-can eat buffet style was AMAZING!!! From the jerk chicken to the waffles as well as the shrimp and grits. The drinks were on point and the DJ kept me entertained.

Family Birthday Brunch

By Patricia B |

Choose Negril Village as a location for my Sister's Sixth Birthday celebration. The service was accurate and we felt very well taken care of during our visit. The Menu selection and atmosphere was very enjoyable. I will definitely return.

Excellent Lunch Menu

By ATL_Jacket |

I was really impressed by my recent lunch at Negril Village. I see lots of concerns here about the prices on the dinner menu, but the lunch is much more reasonable. For $10, you can get a big plate of curry chicken with all the sides. I found the service to be very prompt too. I was in and out in about 20 minutes at noon when dining by myself. Negril Village definitely stands out from the competition on North Avenue. Overall, this is a great spot to grab a bite in Midtown Atlanta.

So beautiful

By Russell B |

My wife and I had just arrived in Atlanta from a long trip and stumbled in with back packs and 13 hours of airplane ride on us . The staff were wonderful and the food was delicious and beautiful. We may return to Atlanta just to do it again properly. I would not miss the chance if you are in midtown!

Sub-par

By jerndt123 |

I had thought that this might be a unique spot to find some rare and unique cuisine within Atlanta(a city filled with world class restaurants). I was very underwhelmed with the food especially the overall flavor. For a Caribbean restaurant this place has some work to do, in order to reach primo status. The pricing is about $7-10/per plate too high. In my opinion you are paying for the building rent and not the food. Beware they charge auto 20% gratuity on 4+ person checks, they will not let you split checks or do side substitutions. Seems to be very aggressive rules when you are the customer. I will not be back again.

We felt like we were in Virgin Gorda!

By BobnSharon |

Until the hurricane Irma destroyed our beautiful Island of Virgin Gorda, we were there and then to St John for the last 15 years. When there, we enjoyed all the local foods we could at the “Fat Virgin”, “Chez Bamboo” on VG and places like “de'Coal Pot” on St John. The Red Snapper at Negril Village was as wonderful and “de’Coal Pot” and the Roti as delicious as at the “Fat Virgin”. For one dinner, we were back on our magical Caribbean Islands.

Interesting

By Nellabella2888 |

This was my first time here and I wasn't really impressed. The atmosphere and ambiance were nice though. I got the jerk chicken and that tasted nice. One of my friends got the jerk chicken and waffles and loved it. The waffles were a major hit. Beware!! I had some friends park valet and they paid $15 but on the website it said $3. For groups of 6 or more standard gratuity is 18% which was stated on the website but when we got there it was 20%. We thought we could at least split the check 4 ways which the website stated but when the check arrived it was only one check. Service was so so. Let's just day I definitely enjoyed my company more than I did the food and actually being here. I don't necessarily need to back.

Caribbean and Southern comfort food

By Ksgjk |

Excelllent place for Soithern comfort food with Caribbean fare thrown in. Very nice setting in old fire station. Mac-and-cheese looked like a soufflé and was awesome. Jerked chicken was a bit too dry. The collard green spring roles were very good. Friendly and helpful staff, but don’t be in a hurry if you eat here!

Different but great spin on Brunch!

By Marquila F |

We attended for brunch and the food was delicious, there was a Jamaican spin on all of traditional brunch foods. The atmosphere was very nice good r&b music playing and lots of beautiful black ppl!

NO WORRIES MON!!!

By iluvfoodz |

Awesome food and experience!! I brought my boyfriend here for a birthday brunch. My reservation was at 2pm and we were early...arriving at 1pm. We expected to just wait because the place was FULL. I spoke with Dean and advised of my actual time and he immediately sat us!! He was so very nice and accommodating!! The service was great and our waitress Kyra was the best!! She offered recommendations and once the food came she made sure we were satisfied. We had the oxtail appetizer, shrimp & grits, and jerk chicken...every bite was AMAZING!!! It's hard to say which we liked best as they were both equally amazing entrees. Our waitress Kyra even ensured that the birthday boy received that wonderful rummy rum cake. Mimosas were delicious and topped the meal off. The band was exciting and they set the atmosphere down stairs. Also we went upstairs to view the area and the DJ was rocking!! I can't wait to return and recommend this place to anybody that will listen LOL!! This was truly the icing on the cake for a great birthday weekend!!!

High end Jamaican and Trinidadian

By Carmine P |

Went with my honey before a show. I had the curried goat roti. Although there were some bones to pick through it was delicious. The venue itself is striking. The floors are small light tile offset against a dark wood bar and and paneling. They have a great event space upstairs as well.

Deja vu Jamaica!

By Billy M |

Pre Fox Theater meal. Did a google search of the top restaurants within walking distance of the Fox. Various sites had Negril Village in the top 5 and it was spot on. From the moment we went through the front door, top rated service/interaction from the manager to the waiter. I let them guide us on what to eat. The absolutely BEST was the jerk salmon and sweet potato. I had the jerk chicken and pineapple infused waffles which was also good. We will certainly be back. There are so many things I want to try on the menu!

Amazing Sunday brunch!

By Isabelle L |

The food was amazing! Really tasty and lots of flavor and spices. The wait was a bit long, so we ate by the bar. The bartender was super friendly and sweet and kept checking in on us. I enjoyed my time there and again - food was YUMMMMM!

Island Experience In Atlanta

By Debby H |

Great Atmosphere!! If you need an island feel definitely the place to be. Tried the Roti curry chicken wasn't impressed though. The Roti had a doughy taste to it. Wasn't done properly. Hubby had the oxtail which was delicious. The portion size was small though.😊 We also had the rum punch. This was the bomb!! We will definitely visit here again.

Fine Dinner Dining

By JM Travels |

I went to this restaurant for dinner to celebrate an anniversary. The atmosphere was cozy, warm, and inviting. The food was really good; the fish was excellent! The restaurant is located on a busy road. They have parking, but due to an event, I had to find parking elsewhere.

The Jerk Chicken is FYAH

By Jasmin B |

One of my favorite dishes ever is Jerk Chicken. Let me just say this, the Jerk Chicken at Negril Village did not disappoint! It was delicious! My husband also enjoyed his Shrimp and Grits, and my mom liked her Jerk Salmon, as well. The place looks nice. It's clean and has a (paid) parking lot right next to it. It costs $3 for an hour and $5 for two hours parking. If you feel like some live reggae, soca, dancehall, make sure to stop by on Rum Punch Fridays. Our first restaurant in Atlanta. This trip started out well.

Love it!

By 752terriw |

I love the idea they changed the fire house into a restaurant. It's beautiful and the food is delicious! The food a little over priced, that's because of the area its in. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Nightlife

By tam600 |

Nice restaurant. Food was tasty. Autumn salad with mixed greens dates bleu cheese spicy cashews sweet potatoes etc. Delicious. I also ordered the Curry Shrimp jasmine rice and wilted spinach. Nice meal. A/C was out. ¡ NO BUENO! Greeter was very unapologetic and cynical. Went so far as to warn that if we dined outside and it happens to rain, there was no guarantee that they would accommodate us inside. Are you kidding young lady???? We are your guests. If you noticed as I did, you had a very empty house this night 08/23/19 approximately 10pm. You are the greeter you job is welcome the guests.

Pre show

By Wylie H |

The food was very good, but they seemed to be out of quite a few things. Not a fan of the combined check and tip.

Nice vibes

By J Fran |

To start off there wasn’t any parking available So we had to get dropped off in order to make our reservations. We were sitting in the upstairs area. This place is an infusion of Jamaican food. I dnt feel like it’s home made but it’s good nevertheless and close. We came here for brunch. We got Rum punch for the table. And I got curry chicken with rice& peas, steamed cabbage, and sweet plantains. I thought the food was good, as previously stated it’s not as good as a mom and pop shop but it def hit the spot. My friends tried the stew chicken, chicken and waffles and oxtails. The chicken and waffles were different (not like American fried chicken & waffles). Everyone seemed to like their meals. We also tried out their Mac n cheese. Over all, it was a good vibe and we enjoyed ourselves.

Great food!!

By Erin0315 |

Really good food!! Started getting busy about 6pm. If you don't want to sit at the bar or wait, make a reservation. Jerk salmon and chicken & waffles quite good. So was our appetizer, but I don't remember what it was called.

Sexy Caribbean Spot

By lestraveling |

A historic firehouse turned into a low key, sexy date spot behind the Fox Theater. Wanted some island cuisine but not the normal corner take out places. Marble tables, dimmed lighting, lush seating..... great food. Would visit again.

Great Food

Great food and a great atmosphere. Customer service was awesome and it didn't take long to receive our food. I recommend this restaurant

Delicious Caribbean Close to the Fox Theatre

By King_Lux |

Negril Village is a delicious Caribbean restaurant whose dishes seem to lean more on the Jamaican culture. The building is a classy old firehouse from the early 1900's, and the interior has been renovated very elegantly. However the service and dishes were far from stuffy. Our server was a delight, and the dishes were flavorful. Everyone in our group of 8 really enjoyed everything they had. Of particular note is the house-made ginger beer (non-alcoholic), and bread pudding. The location is just 1-2 blocks from the Fox Theatre, so it can be a great pre or post theater meal too. Unfortunately, the parking is very limited, so you might want to pre-book it somewhere else if you're doing a show.

Happy, spicy Caribbean visit

By CLR77 |

We have been all over the Caribbean. We love the culture. The vibe of this restaurant is consistent with our experience. The live music, appointments, and staff were all spot on. The food was the centerpiece, but the entire encounter was delicious. The jerk salmon, pineapple waffles, jerk chicken and fried chicken are all things we would order again.

Great Jamaican Fare

By lejmcdowell |

My husband and I had dinner here on date night. It is a renovated firehouse and this adds to a beautiful space. We didn't have a reservation and in spite of this we were seated very quickly on a busy Friday night. The food is delicious. We had the jerk chicken and waffles, codfish fritters, rice and peas, and plantain. Everything was fabulous. We happened to attend on a night when there was a live band. The live music added to an already authentic island ambiance. I recommend this place. Only downside, only bathroom facilities are upstairs. Which reminds me, there is an upstairs area which is a great lounge area to hang out and talk with friends or enjoy a meal.

Our daughter's birthday

By M LM B |

After trying the jerk wings and collard green rolls for appetizers ( which were both delicious),We all ending up ordering different dishes. Everyone raved about the food and let me not forget the RUM PUNCH!!! Our only issue was our server. He just want too good.

Upscale Caribbean Don’t Miss This

By oharede |

This Amazing restaurant is a short walk from the Fox Theatre and situated in an old firehouse. The Caribbean menu has many options for all dietary needs. We had shrimp and grits and brown stew chicken which was fall of the bone tender. Both dishes were hearty and flavorful. There was a full bar with great drinks. Everyone from the hostess to the waitstaff were friendly and accommodating. We couldn’t ask for anything better and will be back.

Awful Service

By ah64fish |

It hurts to give this review as I have actually given it 2 fives in the past, but on Saturday June 24th, they were 100% garbage! This is actually the first rating I've EVER given below a 3. I put my own reputation on the line to bring about 20 people to Negril Village who had never been before to have pre-match drinks and dinner before the Atlanta United soccer match. I called at 11AM that day when they opened to make sure they'd be serving food and was told the kitchen would be closed from 4-5PM but that we'd be able to get food at 5PM. After getting there and ordering drinks, we were told the kitchen would be closed until 6PM and that there was absolutely nothing they could do. They were perfectly fine with 20 customers worth of food and alcohol sales walking out and going around the corner to Proof and Provision where we dropped about $1,000. That's just bad business and was embarrassing to me who had convinced everyone to meet there. Everyone said they'll NEVER go back, so now multiply that by the overall revenue loss!

Outstanding

By Pioneer583584 |

So glad the bellman at our hotel recommended this place! We came on $20 Rum punch night. Whoa. That's some good stuff. But can please talk about the ox tails?? They may be the best thing I've ever tasted. Served with rice and plantains, which I kinda tasted, but I was way too focused on those ox tails. Succulent, juicy, rich. I may have popped my husband's hand for reaching across the table. He had the Jerk Chicken and it was incredible, also. But the memory of those ox tails help me make it through some rough spots...like mountains of laundry and running kids from one activity to another. Great service, great atmosphere. We ate outside and it was lovely. Go. Now. You're welcome.

great spot

nice up beat spot, great food and great atmosphere, had a great time here, the drinks where great also, this is a must try atleast once

Jamaican food in the ATL.

By PamelaBC1230 |

We had a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was nice and we enjoyed the music. We ordered the oxtails and brown stew chicken. My oxtails were good. A bit on the spicy side. Plenty of gravy which I appreciated. My husband ordered the stew chicken. It was flavorful and the meat fell off the bone. My only complaint is the the cabbage was not good. It still tasted uncooked.

Such A Scrumptious Place!

By dodmichael |

Negril Village was the very first place where I got to have a Caribbean brunch and I'm glad I made the trip to Atlanta and headed down there. Reservations are hard to get so book early but despite the wait, it's very worth it. I had the jerk chicken and waffles with a side of cornbread and their insanely yummy guava butter. The service was great, can't complain and I really liked the music choices played. Thank you ATL and thank you Negril for a great Caribbean foodie experience.

Underwhelmed is putting it mildly...

By SuperPickyeaTER |

Went for lunch on a Wednesday around noon. The place is beautiful (converted from a fire station), but was almost empty. I soon found out why. I ordered the chicken curry with rice and cabbage. Because of a no carb diet, asked to substitute with a veggie, informed can only trade a starch for a starch. OK.. My daughter ordered the same thing, but asked if she could have her cabbage on the side, as to give it to me since she didn't want it and I would eat it as a rice substitute. was informed that the "chefs" like to plate everything the same way, but she would try.. Um... K ... thank you. Cabbage was bland, chicken was dry and hard enough to make me think that this was cooked the day before, the curry sauce was "OK". Very over priced for the food quality and portions. I'm sure the overhead is tough to keep up with, but I would save my dollars for a better option in a city with so many choices... I say pass... Waitress was nice though..

Amazing food. Everyone one

By SalR123 |

Amazing food. Everyone one of the staff pitched in. Jermaine was our server, Outstanding job. Great atmosphere. On the negative comments here. Maybe it was an off day. But you have to try it again.

Probably a first and a last....

By Know1Cares |

Experienced my first ( and last brunch) here today. The food had generous portions but the service was just lacking. We ordered mimosas and received a carafe filled with an orange/ peach colored liquid. When we were ( finally ) able to flag down our server she said ' this is our version of a mimosa, its made with fruit punch'... this is something that should be stated to the customer before hand in my opinion ' hey the mimosa won't be orange juice ' would've been a good heads up. We had to ask for water multiple times. While the food was delicious, live band awesome after the fee just to park and the service I won't be returning.

Great Break from the Ordinary

By OscarPhilips |

Negril Village offers a great set of menu choices that you don't see in many "US" restaurants; from curry goat to oxtail roost, jerk chicken, and jerk salmon. We had a treat waiter that helped us in decisions on almost everything, from drinks, appetizers, and entrées. From other reviews I was expecting a little more on the atmosphere, but that was the only significant deterrent.

Excellent Food & Service

By TrippingWithLee |

Let me start by saying how beautiful this restaurant is! We were greeted right away as we walked in and my friend was even complimented on her hair. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The service was amazing! Someone has trained this team on the art of customer service. The food was delicious! I ordered the jerk chicken, rice and peas, plantain and cabbage with jerk wings as an app. It was really good! For dessert I had the brownie and ice cream, and I was pleased that I had enough room to enjoy this perfect sweet treat!

We had an early reservation for dinner before going to see Wicked at the Fox. The staff was super friendly and helpful, kind and courteous. The food was excellent. Sadly they were out of Salmon so we both had the Shrimp and Grits and wow they were good but don't expect to be able to finish. Also be sure to try the warm cornbread and guava butter 'cause wow.

Classy Caribbean!

By marietGA |

Visited Negril Village recently based on recommendation of a friend and was very pleased. Upscale Caribbean restaurant in a historic Atlanta renovated firehouse! The atmosphere was comfortable, with 2-story ceiling and a lot of the firehouse charm remained. Food was delicious! Loved the codfish fritters appetizer which came with a little avocado cream - (there were 4 fritters ... ate 2 before I took the photo!) The salmon jerk entree was delicious and my friend enjoyed the Caribbean version of surf and turf - steak and shrimp. Service was excellent and friendly. Open Table had shown no times available, so I called the restaurant and they told me to come on in. Parking is convenient - a 'private pay lot' is right next door. Perfect place for dinner before the Fox Theatre because its only couple blocks away!

Over priced and underserved

By Jolie C |

Based on the reviews, I was looking forward to a high level dining experience which was not the case at Negril ATL. If you've ever visited the NY location don't expect the same level of service as the ATL location. Service was slow and the managers were not helpful at all! One gentleman (manager) was literally sitting as a customer drinking alcohol from the bar while working! Super unprofessional!! After waiting 20 mins to be greeted, we were given glasses of water (which were tap) and the ability to order. This is a big deal because you have to pay almost $20 to park for 3 hours! In addition to paying for parking, a restaurant with dishes starting around $20 should not be serving customers sink water. We ordered appetizers that came after our food that we had to wait an additional 45 minutes for. There was nothing done to rectify the situation or place our minds at ease as potential repeat customers. From this experience and recently discovering that they received a 45 health score it is very concerning to me. It appears that this location has some serious things they need to work on considering the cost of their dishes. Please do not eat here, they are very over priced with very poor service. I most likely will not return. While dining I also witnessed another issue with a large party and the quality of their service; unfortunately they had no choice but to still pay the full 20% auto gratuity although their service was way below subpar, managers did not care.

Good choice for a change in food

By Mark L |

We went there as a family as we visited Atlanta and we wanted something different. We really liked this place. The food is Caribbean with Ackee and oxtail as examples. They have some good ginger beer they prepare in house. Very enjoyable and right near a Marta station

Ready to Return

By AliceH_11 |

A wintery December Sunday I arrived to have brunch with a friend. On time for our reservation, we were promptly seated. The decor was striking to me with the white and black checkerboard tile floor, the deep colored wood, high windows and booth/banquettes. It felt bright and warm. At the offer to try the house-made sorrel and ginger beer, we tried both, loved both, and I created a mix of both. Having reviewed the online menu, I knew I couldn't pass up the Jerk Chicken N’ Waffles. The presentation was so tempting, I almost missed taking a picture before devouring the plate. I must make a plan to work through the menu...

Great restaurant

By Aycer |

Good drinks, good food. A little on the slow side, but definitely a great ambience. Shrimp and grits with the corn bread is amazing! Also the Jerk wings are good. The collard green egg rolls are tasty. Drinks are good, average price of a drink downtown. Mango mojito is amazing! Definitely coming back

Buffet

By anonymous12_11 |

This restaurant is beautiful inside and out! I ate from the buffet section and Im not a meat eater so I cant comment on that but the mac and cheese was to die for! The mimosas were strong and my group of 8 had a great time. The DJ played a good mix of music. The price for the buffet is on the high end and they give you a limit to eat but we didn't need it, we were full after 2 plates.

Not to be missed if you like Jamaican food, or even if you don’t

By SnorklerGirl |

After enduring several days of mediocre food around the Georgia Aquarium, we decide to venture further afield in search of good food. We struck gold at Negrill ATL. This Jamaican restaurant was amazing. I got the crispy red snapper stuffed with creole shrimp. The creole sauce was divine. My husband got jerk shrimp over jasmine rice. He said the jerk seasoning was perfect. If we lived anywhere near Atlanta, we would be regulars.

Lovely dinner

By MauricioBabilonia |

This was a great experience. Colleague picked this place and just told me to meet there. I was not sure what to expect. Food was awesome. I had the oxtails and loved them. Service was outstanding. I would love to go back for more.

Great jamaican

By jaise p |

Amazing place. Loud music but nice atmosphere. Food is really good. Definitely recommend the oxtail – just like in Jamaica

Not worth the wait

By Leena |

Good customer service, mediocre food, slow kitchen, not worth the wait or price. I really wanted to like this place, but the food was not authentic Jamaican. I ordered jerk chicken. The chicken just tasted like charred BBQ chicken, no jerk flavor, the cabbage was just short of raw and unseasoned, can't give opinion on the rice& peas because the little bit that I got was mixed in the cabbage. Disappointed. But the servers, especially the young lady from NYC and the Jamaican Bartender, were very hospitable.

Must visit!!

By Brian C |

If you are a person which love food with vibe, this is it. Authentic Caribbean music along with Negril Village style of Caribbean cuisine. Fabulous mix of food and entertainment in the heart of Atlanta. Just like the traffic in ATL, have patience and enjoy your visit. You will be a better person for it.

Good food, Pricey parking and 28% gratuity included.

By GLH |

Wonderful service, Food was very good. We had Jerk Salmon and the Shrimp and Grits that were very good. Be aware that you pay to park in their parking area with a 3 hr. max $20. Also the gratuity of 20% was included but was actually charged 28%. The floor was very slippery and wet or greasy. We could not figure out which.

Poor managers

By G. Owens |

Came here to dine with my family. Poor service.. the server wasn’t doing bad but the manager named Kenyatta was unprofessional with how she went about things. The food took over an hour to come out and all you see the manager doing is walking back and forth the dining room absolutely nothing. When we received the food, it wasn’t hot at all but thank God it tasted good. I’m not a fussy person at all and don’t usually complain about poor service, but I’m writing this review because we were just so disappointed with the service. I asked the server to get the manager to come speak to us about a discount because the food took very long and I was missing my plantains on my dish, also received the food and had to WAIT for silverware to eat, and I got 3 pieces of oxtail that barely had meat on it. She told the server to come back to us and tell us she cannot give us a discount because everyone’s food took a long time and she’d have to give everyone a discount. How did you as a manager think that was ok to say to a potential regular guest?! Even though we waited so long for the food, I had full intention to return because the food was good and it’s a black owned restaurant. Because of Kenyatta, neither of us will return. As a manager she should’ve came over and spoke to us herself and explain whatever she needed to. She clearly lacks the skill of a good restaurant manager. This business is a very good one and has great potential. Please to hire better managers to run your business before they run it to the ground.

Awesome service and food

By Kevin B |

Nine of us eat at Negril there was not one plate left with food on it. There drinks are amazing. Some of the best oxtail I have ever eaten. And the staff is wonderful. I will be back there the next time I am in Atlanta.

Love the atmosphere!

By Chantell L |

Good food and spectacular atmosphere. I enjoyed the side dishes very much. Try the cornbread served with sweet potato butter I think. It was the bomb! The mac n cheese and island grits are perfection. Also I enjoyed the collard greens spring rolls. The only downside was parking.

Great Food, Great Drinks and Great Service!!!

By gixxerryda |

Very happy we dropped in and tried out the cuisine. We started the meal off with a cornbread appetizer which everyone enjoyed. For starter drinks I chose the Mamajuana Sangria which was really really good. For the entree I chose Shrimp and Grits with a side of sweet plantains, my wife chose Whole Red Snapper with a side of mac n cheese, and for our 4 year old chicken strips and a waffle (infused with pineapple). Let me just say that waffle was really good. I happily enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits as my wife did the Red Snapper. For dessert I ordered the rum glaze bread pudding topped with ice cream (wish I had room for seconds). With dessert I also ordered the Kingston Iced Tea, that's right their version of a Long Island and really good. Couldn't find anything bad to say about the meal. Also, I can't forget our hostess as Tenisha provided excellent service. More restaurants could use her personality. The ambiance of the restaurant is very inviting and friendly. The restaurant was previously a firehouse from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. 2 floors renovated with style, the main dining area is located on the first floor, while on the second level is a spacious banquet hall. Located just outside the main entrance is a cozy patio if you'd rather sit outside and enjoy the weather. Lastly, parking. The restaurant does offer valet if you're interested, not sure how much it is. There's also a parking lot adjacent to the restaurant which averages around $10 but depending on what events are going on in the area the prices fluctuate. That night The Bodyguard was playing nearby and it costed us $20 for parking. Definitely recommend stopping by and checking out Negril Village if you're looking for fine dining in Jamaica cuisine.

Food is Really Good, But the Service Brings the Rating Down

By craig1086 |

Came here with my parents, wife, and mother-in-law for Mother’s Day dinner. First, I have to say: make a reservation well in advance(at least a week) for days you know it’ll be crowded. Otherwise, make a reservation a couple days in advance for weekend slots. When it’s busy, which is often(especially on weekends), there is a 2-hour limit inside, so make sure your entire party is on time. The food was good, but the service was somewhat off. Speaking to the service, we got told to just go upstairs. Didn’t get escorted up to our table or anything. Once we got seated, our server basically tried to rush us through our drink & food orders. And while we waited, she seemed to give the other tables upstairs more attention than us. The music was great; not too loud. We were able to have table conversations very easily without having to yell. The venue was very clean including the bathrooms. We ordered a variety of drinks, and they were good & STRONG. For food, we started off with the jerk wings & codfish fritters. Both were excellent & had good flavor. For entrees, I had the jerk salmon, which was good, but the portion size on the salmon filet definitely could’ve been bigger. Sides of market veggies and whipped sweet potatoes were good. My wife initially the prime rib, but when it arrived, the cut of meat was NOT prime rib(we buy it from farmer’s market all the time, so we know). She sent it back and got the oxtails, which she enjoyed. Her sides, the rice and peas & plantains were good, the cabbage was not. My mom got the oxtails as well; she enjoyed. My dad got the jerk chicken, which came with plantains, rice & peas. He enjoyed it a lot. My mother-in-law got the escovitch snapper, which she enjoyed. Once the bill came, it was wrong, as the they charged my wife for the prime rib that she didn’t eat, instead of the oxtails that she did. Took 15 extra minutes and getting the manager’s attention to get the issue resolved. Also know that they automatically add on 20% gratuity onto your bill, so check it to make sure you don’t over tip, thinking it’s not on there. And you get one check for the table, but you can use multiple cards (or cash) to pay the bill. The atmosphere was beautiful with it being an old, renovated firehouse. The bathrooms are upstairs…there are A LOT of stairs. It’s not handicap friendly not having an elevator, or at least I didn’t see one. Parking on property is $12 if you can find an open space. Just pay at the machine before going inside.

Caribbean Luxury

By Kory D |

I had a great time at this place! Quick service (dinner) and excellent food and drinks! (I guess my chef was good this night -as some folks said the food was not good). I enjoyed my curry but the best part was the hot sauce /real Caribbean hot sauce !! The rum punch will have you on you a$$!! I will definitely be back !!

I love this place!

By Drilldoc |

This restaurant is a great outing for a group of friends. Fabulous vibe. Good food. I normally order the jerk chicken and waffle. I've been for brunch and also for happy hour. The only negative is going at the beginning of happy hour. It seems to be a transition period and nothing is ready. Another negative is the parking. It's almost non-existent and what's available is for a fee. Other than that, I look forward to going again very soon.

Needs new management

By Christie J |

Awful customer service, they don't greet you just tell you what your total is, not friendly at all. Long wait, cold food. Items left off order. If you want order corrected you have to wait all over again, have unfriendly service, and order comes back incorrect again.

Great Jerk

By Cmp1130 |

This place is Awesome, it is an old firehouse restored. The outside and inside is lively. Now the food, the jerk chicken has a great flavor with enough sauce. I had the oxtails, cabbage and rice. The cabbage has so much seasoning and flavors, I could have more. The gravy on the oxtails was a perfect chocolate color no separation a great gravy. Oxtails very tender. Now the bread pudding is the best I have had in any restaurant, and I do bread pudding. Rating a 10+

nice but pricey

By Ren |

So we made a reservation and were seated in no time. Service was great. The atmosphere was nice; boisterous with chatter, DJ playing the tunes, beautiful set up around the room. The food was very tasty but very pricey. My husband had the Jerk Salmon and although it was very delicious, he was not pleased that there was more plate than food. I had the curry goat which was also beautifully done; the meat was tender and savory. The plantains and cabbage was well done as well. Upstairs was the DJ, more tables and what looked like a lounge.Valet was full so we had to park blocks away in a municipal lot which is to be expected for a late Saturday night in midtown. This is more a social spot than a romantic spot.

Could be Great If They Tried a Little Harder

By Iluvthe44thpresident |

Pros - The food was plentiful and good. I thought it could be a little more seasoned, but I understand they may be trying to accommodate people who aren't as used to spicy Jamaican food as I am. The fruit punch was good as well. It reminded me of mango tang. Cons - Although they open at 10 am on Saturday and I reserved a spot for 10 am on Saturday, I was left alone to entertain myself in the hostess area for about 15 minutes before anyone made their presence known and finally sat me at a table. After I was seated the waitress promptly took my order, however it was about another 30 minutes before my appetizer came. This may be due to staff arriving when the restaurant opens at 10 am or a little before so they didn't have time to prep the food like most restaurants do. While I was waiting for my food the restaurant staff decided to assemble a dining table using a drill while customers were there. Couldn't they have done that before the restaurant opened or the previous night? Even though the menu says that there is a 20% gratuity added for parties of 6 or more, I was in a party of 2 and still had the gratuity added. Be aware that the valet doesn't arrive until 11 am so if you are there when the restaurant opens you have to pay $10 to park in the adjacent parking lot. Takeaway - I should have learned how to cook Jamaican food from my mother while growing up so that when I crave some home cooking I wouldn't have to pay $85 for two non alcoholic drinks, an appetizer, two entrees, and parking for some breakfast. I will be taking notes and lessons the next time I see her though.

First Stop on my Next Visit to ATLANTA!!!

If you are in Atlanta be sure to make a reservation for this lovely restaurant it is truly a hidden treasure. The staff are wonderful and I will be sure to schedule my dining during the live band time on the next visit I hear it is wonderful.

Carribean Dining at its best

By Lavonia C |

The food is delicious and the atmosphere. They offer a brunch buffet on Sundays that is the best! The owner is very personable.

A great Menu

By Mark E |

Walked in without reservations on a Friday evening and even though they were busy we were seated quite quickly. I would imagine if a show was on that night in the Fox Theater we would not have been seated. Feels like a old time NY Italian eatery in an old fire house. The facility was tastefully decorated and spotless clean. Service was great and the food quality and prices made the evening a memorable stop for dinner

Always a good time at Negril

By CulturedBlackPearl |

Love the Negril in Atlanta (compared to the one in NYC). The service can be slow as molasses and the wait time can be insane even with RSVP. However, the food is delicious. Well prepared, seasoned perfectly, and perfectly portioned. I love the strawberry mojitos. The young lady at the bar with the locs makes the best drinks. There's usually a DJ upstairs and room for dancing. Love the vegetarian friendly options.

Sunday Brunch

By nikbminx |

My bf and I came went for Sunday brunch. We were hoping to do the brunch buffet but it starts at 12 and we got there around 10:30. So we sat down and did a regular brunch. The staff was pleasant and the decor was very nice. We ordered the oxtail pasta and jerk chicken and waffles. They were nicely portioned and very delicious. The tip is included as I had read in other reviews no matter your party size. The parking lot right next to it charged $20 which was insane so we found $4 parking a couple blocks away. All in all we had a great time at Negril Village. I can tell it gets crowded fast so I think we will stick to coming in the morning right when they open or making sure to make reservations.

Day Party Birthday Brunch

By chareelenee |

Came here for Brunch for a friends Birthday! Very good food @ the female DJ was everything! Loved the waffles, fruit, shrimp & grits and jerk chicken. Also ate the bread pudding, was pretty amazing also. Brunch buffet was located upstairs. It was super crowded and you can tell this is a very popular spot. Make sure you make reservations before dining! Great spot, will def return!!

A Place of Celebrations

By tktmcnair |

Negril Village is just one of those places that you want to celebrate everything at. Baby showers, birthday, new job, new man, just everything! My crew and I come here all the time, and every time we show up we have a great time. This restaurant is such a gem, and I love the food, décor, the live music on Sundays, and the people. So if you are in the Atlanta area and you love Jamaican/Caribbean food, then this is the spot that you need to go to. Honestly and truly.

Caribbean meets the city

By TiciaTravels |

Being from a West Indian family I was a bit skeptical when a friend suggested we meet at Negril Village for brunch. I admit I was totally wrong for doubting her choice! Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm, friendly smile and seated immediately. The brunch menu had a variety of items including strong drinks. We opted for the jerk chicken and waffles, which was delicious. Service was friendly, prompt and efficient. I hear they also have a brunch buffet on the second level. Tip: Parking is limited and costs $10 in the adjacent lot. Get there early before the crowd.

Taste of Jamaica

By sammyb |

The food Oh my exceptional. The building is an old firehouse very cool. Great vibe. service could have been better but the food more than makes up for this. On Friday's they offer a special on their rum punch do yourself a favor and go on that day. I am picky and this is the best rum punch outside of Jamaica I have ever had.

Nice time with family

By Mookie1019 |

This was my first time eating at “Negril Village”. This location is very busy, it didn’t take long for our party of 20 to be seated and waited on. It is a mature adult crowd which I loved. “Negril Village “ offers a dj from “ cynsumluv” which was a delight. The food was enjoyable also. I suggest you pay attention when driving there because you will drive right past it, “Negril Village “ offers valet parking or you can pay for a ticket from the box. To sum it up I enjoyed myself, the food and music.

Horrible Sunday Experience

By Carmen S |

Let me start out by saying Negril Village literally has the tastiest, freshest Caribbean food in ATL. Each time I have been there, anything I’ve ordered has blown me away! It is all AMAZING! So you can imagine how excited I was to treat my friend to a birthday brunch there. They even had live music on this particular day and the band was great! I had really talked this place up- maybe too much, because the experience on this Sunday afternoon was everything but excellent. Essentially, the point of this review is to warn all: do not go on a Sunday unless you have reservations. Parking is very limited, so they have valet ($20). Thankfully, after circling the lot a couple of times we got the parking space of a group coming out ($10 to park in the lot). And if you do NOT have reservations, expect at least 1hr of wait time to be seated. Once we had finally gotten seated, it was a full 45 min until our food arrived. We literally watched others be seated and receive their food , eat, and chill before our waitress told us we “were next up”, whatever that means. I know what she meant, but how were we next up when the groups who were seated after us got their food a long time ago? We finally received our food with 30 min to spare, because the parking lot has a 3hr limit, and you gotta be gone within those 3 hours. “Towing is strictly enforced”. I burned my tongue trying to scarf the food down, so we could leave in time. Lastly, the bill already had the tip, a very generous tip tacked onto it. I wouldn’t have given that generous a tip for the service we received. Great food, but don’t go on a Sunday!

Food, Drinks, Ambiance.....Excellent!!!!!!!!

By Tracie B |

My cousin came up from Florida to spend some time with me, her favorite cousin, so I decided to treat us to a unforgettable lunch. She wanted to go to the newly established restaurant "OLG" but I wanted to do something different. I had been attempting to go to Negril Village for quite some time but could never find the time so I jumped online and made us a reservation. I have been to Negril, Jamaica a number of times and the authentic Jamaican cuisine put more weight on a sista than needed...yes, that good so I must say that the food and drinks at Negril Village exceeded my expectations and I will definitely return!!

Curry Chicken thumbs down

By ATLchick4life |

I have eaten at Negril a number of times and had pretty good experiences- -love the atmosphere and the service has been good. This weekend I wanted some curry chicken so ordered via Uber Eats. What I got was a meal that was so bland with very little curry seasoning. I actually had to get my own curry seasoning out of the pantry, but the chicken in a pot and re-season the food (by now I was thinking that I could have went to the store, bought the meat and cooked the meal myself!). I don't know if they didn't cook it properly since it was a delivery order and they were in a hurry or what, but it was not a good experience for me at all. Needless to say I will not ever order via Uber Eats from them again.

Be careful with large parties here

By Marvin D |

This place seems fancy but don't be fooled.. the food is ok but the service and payment is God awful!!! We have a party of 10 and they will only give 1 check to make it easy on themselves!!! Gratuity is a mandatory 20% regardless of service. Don't come here!! Trying to support black business not always best idea

Caribbean Cuisine with a Southern Flair

By OnyInTheCity |

First of all, I don't know what took me so long to grab a bite at Negril Village!! The food is AMAZING and the building just so happens to be a 1907 renovated firehouse with all of the original architecture! Having friends in from out of town will certainly prompt you to try something new! I'm happy we made a reservation because there was a bit of a wait( which is to be expected since the food is so good😋) We were greeted with a genuine smile by the hostess. We didn't want to sit at the first table she took us too because it was too close to the door. We asked if we could sit at a different table and she was quite accommodating! We had to wait just a bit for our server Brandee because she had some large parties but she made us feel right at home! She made her section feel like family!! We ordered Codfish Fritters, Warm Cornbread with this amazing guava butter, Collard Green Spring Rolls, SurfnTurf, Negril's Oxtails annnnnnnnd the Village Island Punch(OMG!!!! Delicious and it definitely had a punch to it😊) I went for dinner but heard they have an amazing brunch that I can't wait to try! Ohhhhh and there a public parking lot adjacent to the building which is great but if you decide to stay longer than you planned, remember to add money to your meter because if you don't you will most certainly get a boot! Overall, this was a great night out! Definitely make plans to grab a bite at Negril Village and when you do, tell them Ony sent you 😊😊

Takes a Village, But You Won't Have Time To!

By Nina L |

I'm meeting my friends for our holiday gift exchange. I instantly suggested Negril Village because their Sunday brunch is very popular. At soon as we were seated, I was disappointed in two ways: no mimosas because they can't serve it on Sundays till 12:30pm, GA law, not their fault. BUT if you know your most popular meal is Sunday brunch, and you know sans mimosas, your homemade ginger beer flies from the bar, whyyyy would you not have made any and have it ready? I'm told they ran out the night before and just decided not to make anymore. Ummmm ok. So we order food that was DELICIOUS: the apps--ackee & saltfish tostones tasted much better than the codfish fritters. My friends both loved their jerk chicken & waffles. My snapper was superb and though the rice & peas were desert dry, the server quickly agreed to remove them from my bill. So my friends and I started chatting, opening gifts and catching up. Oh but then....then...a woman who I believe to be the owner began circling or table like a drone. At first, we thought it was courteous to remove our plates & such. She then came by again in minutes to see if we'd finished the last of our apps. Then before we could start our conversation again, she was back to take our water carafe. I had to quickly refill. By this time, we knew we'd paid our bill, served our purpose, and that she wanted us out, to turn the table. Then--oh but then--she posted up at the server station, at a direct angle across from our table and literally locked her gaze in our direction. Needless to say, we got up to leave as soon as we all noticed. She was standing at our booth before all 3 of us could even slide out. We are friends whose busy lives have kept us from seeing each other in person for months. We all agreed there are other Caribbean inspired restaurants that would actually allow the plantains to be digested.
