Someone at worked mention it, so we stopped by. Very pleasant find! We were seated quickly even without reservation; best service anywhere in Dallas; great steak; great valet service. We'll be back.

My husband and I went to Neighborhood services for our anniversary. The food and service were excellent and the staff was very professional and courteous. Our only complaint was the restaurant is small and very loud. It was the middle of the week and the restaurant was full. We were seated out in the middle, very close to another patron and could hardly hear each other talk. They did tell us Happy Anniversary but didn't ask about it or offer anything special for us celebrating it there. Overall, I would go back for the food but not a special occasion. Last year, we went to another nice restaurant who seated us at a nicer table, gave us a card and dessert and made us feel special for celebrating there.

First to be safe make a reservation. Great apps include meatballs and nachos. Fish pasta meat specials daily. Love the London broil. Menu can satisfy everyone. Great knowledgeable service staff. Extensive bar that pours a good drink. Every time we're in Dallas we will make a point to stop in. Dress is Park Cities casual. Like your at an alumni fraternity party.

If you've never been here before, don't blink when trying to fine it. Once my husband and I found it, we thought it was well, we'll worth it! Kansas City steak was awesome, and delicious, and the service was impeccable! Nice ambiance too!

We were told down the road, where we stopped in for a bottle of wine to bring to someone's house we were visiting the next day, that NS was a great little place, that everyone was talking about it, and you couldn't get in if you went during normal dining times, but since it was early, we'd be able to get in (around 5 pm). To tell you the truth, I don't remember that much about the food (I think it may have been a bit on the salty side, oh so disappointing when that happens!) but the atmosphere was great, and someone's got a real artistic eye when it comes top decor in the women's bathroom there! They had a Howitt piece, from Jan 2 1809, "Hare" as well as two of his other works. And check the picture out which I took of the sink area.. see the man's clothing hanging from the pegs? We sat at a high top facing the bar and it was entertaining... perhaps that's why I don't remember much about the food. But my date did say his was salty.

This place has valet, which we used. We had drinks at the table and had dinner. I had their burger. It was to die for. The fries were really good as well. Come Hungry there plate was huge. The Scallops were also very good and tasty!

Definitely one of the better meals I have had in Dallas. I would suggest a reservation on a weekend night because the place was packed. Fortuantely, my friends and I had a reservation so we didn't have to wait. The food was really good. I had the Nantucket scallops which are only served in season and they were delicious. Some of my friends had steak and some had fish. Everyone at the table enjoyed their order (sides included). The service was exactly like I like it... knowledgeable and friendly without being overly attentive. Unfortunately, there were a couple of problems. The restaurant is difficult to find even if you are familiar with Dallas because of the very small sign on the front of the restaurant. The worst problem was the very loud music at dinner. I assume they are trying to appeal to the younger bar crowd, but it made conversation at dinner very difficult. It may have been my imagination, but it seemed like they turned the music up louder every 20 or 30 minutes. The restaurant patrons had to keep talking louder to speak over the music so by the end of our dinner the noise in the restaurant was extremely loud. It's a shame because the food and service were really good. I may try it for lunch one day and maybe the music won't be quite so loud as it was on a weekend night.

What a great dinner! The porterhouse special was perfect! It was crusty and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Very tasty. The bourbon selection was great along with the service.

Overall, my wife and I had an outstanding experience! The service was top notch given how busy it was. Our waitress was there when we needed anything, but also gave us an appropriate amount of space. A couple things to know: 1. Make a reservation on weekends. Even if you have a reservation you should allow for some flex time. 2. The tables are fairly close and the restaurant is pleasantly active. If you are looking for a quiet, private experience then this is not for you. We started with the crab and artichoke dip which is a must. My wife ordered a fish special which was simply outstanding. Their burger had been recommended to me many times, so I gave it a try. Cooked to perfection and had a unique flavor profile. They have a great drink menu which covers the gambit of tastes from wine to craft cocktails and beyond.

This place was awesome!! I had the flat iron steak with the peppercorn sauce and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since! The peppercorn sauce made the meal!!

Great menu, amazing food, ambiance moderate - but you don't go for the view, you go for the food! Good drinks, good wine, delish deserts. Top of my list of great restaurants in Dallas.

Food always consistent . Best hamburger, fish great. We also had shrimp that was good. Bar service is always good and attentive

This place was an amazing find. If you read the reviews, there are a mixed bag so I was nervous recommending this to our large party. We checked in and had to wait a few minutes for our table to get set. Once we sat down, the wonderfulness began. Our waiter was very knowledgable about the menu and answered any questions we had. We ordered drinks and apps since it was later and we were starving. You must try the fried asparagus. It was amazing and way better than the onion rings. Not that the onion rings were bad, they just paled in comparison. Next up was the salad course...OMG...the wedge was one of the best combinations I have had in a long time. Then...on to the steak frites. It was very good and a huge portion. Thank goodness for sharing. We finished off the meal by sharing the apple empenada and ding dong. Overall...I would recommend for a return trip.

Took my 9 year old here for his birthday before the Mavericks game. Nice place, mood lighting, bar, swanky bathrooms with ice in the urinals all fun. The food was good, nothing to blow me away, but good food served by nice staff with fair prices. The kids enjoyed their first $20 hamburgers and I tried them and the beef was quit nice. Scallop dish and redfish were good. The wedge salad is a real winner, very very heavy but sure tasty. Crab dip to start was also good.

I understand this was rated Dallas' best restaurant and I can see why.The waiter was extremely attentive, suggesting a perfect wine complement to our meal. We started with a spicy sausage and honey crisp apple flatbread (they offer several), and a cerviche, which were perfect appetizers for four diners. The side dishes are wonderful - we had the creamy Three Jack and Mac casserole (probably the best I've ever had) and roasted Brussel sprouts (yes, awesome Brussel sprouts). They have fish specials every day and special cerviche offerings each day of the week. The banana split dessert was divine. Pretty decent beer list with offerings from Ballist Point and Firestone Walker, not just your typical Shiner selection. The wine list is extensive. The atmosphere is intimate. A nice change from the chains of Dallas.

An absolute disaster last night. Let me say first that our waiter did a great job under horrendous context. He brought out our drinks and wine on time and fine. We ordered our meal and salads came out fine then we waited 1 hour and 10 min for entrees. My wife’s filet was ordered med/rare and it came out charcoal black grizzle. We went it back and 20 min later a second appeared, delivered by a manager apologizing. This was well done but not to the extent of the first one. She said they would comp the filet and give us desert. I was not interested in anything free just wanted a nice dinner with my family. The check came and they charged us for 2 cocktails for my wife, which she only had 1. It was pointed out and the waiter took it back and corrected it, then after presenting us with the new bill he noticed they still charged us for the filet so the bill went back again. Things were clearly out of control. I’ll pass on NServices!

Our book club went to Neighborhood Services Bar & Grill and had a delightful evening. Although they normally do not take reservations, they held a table for our party of 6. The food was excellent and the wait staff very helpful. The menu offers the right number of selections without overwhelming the guests. We enjoyed the "raved about" french fires which were excellent. The atmosphere is exactly what you would expect in a neighborhood establishment.....looking around you saw many groups laughing and enjoying the evening. It is casual and fun but with better food than you would expect.

Finally got to try Neighborhood Services last weekend and was not disappointed. Our waitress was excellent--very informative and made great recommendations. The bar is extensive, and everything (with the exception of a cucumber margarita ordered by a friend) was excellent. Appetizers were delicious--we shared the meatballs, deviled eggs, and crab dip. The only regret I have is not going with what Neighborhood Services is famous for--their beef. I ordered one of the fish entrees which, while delicious, was far too small for the price, and much smaller than the much less expensive meat-based entrees. I tasted some of my friends' burgers as well as steaks and they were exceptional. Really looking forward to my next visit.

What a nice restaurant. Have enjoyed both times so far and will say the 2nd was better than the first. We enjoyed the sausage apple flatbread and grilled artichoke that were very good. The crust on the flatbread is done so well, soft with a nice crunch. We split the Flank Steak with Frittes and a butter peppercorn sauce on the side. The sauce is so good. Flavorful with a nice touch of "heat." Not a burn your taste buds off, just a nice delayed heat. Have a few more dishes that we would like to try and hope we can have the strength to try something else.

Wow! This was our second visit here (we live in Houston and Chicago) and it was even better than last time! Service was excellent! Our server was so very helpful and personable! You must try the meatballs for an appetizer - they are fantastic!! The scallops, pork chop and halibut were delicious. Best wedge salad we had ever had! Oh and the sweet potato bread pudding was to die for! Great drinks and wine too. Reservations are a must!

Had dinner here last night and it was very good. I had a huge Reuben that had great corned beef about 2 inches high. Also very nice were the sauteed mushrooms and butterscotch pot au creame.

Here with a large group of colleagues, so we had a reservation and did not have to wait...except for them to put the needed tables together! Very odd, as they certainly knew we were coming. also had a hard time finding the place, no real sign outside...finally saw the valet parking guys and just guessed. We had an excellent waiter that knew the menu and provided good service. The meatballs, crab dip, Mac and cheese were particular hits with the group. I had roast chicken with faro- and while the chick was only OK, the faro was excellent. ( had never had it before). Another oddity - no bread basket was served, and they had decaf coffee - but you could not get a decaf cappuccino. Really? We have a vegetarian, a vegan, and a glutton free need in our group. All dietary needs were met with no fuss. Finally - there were 12 of us, spread over 2 tables. The other table ordered first...but did not receive their dinners until after my table had completely finished. And one other thing- what is up with the ice in the ladies room sinks?

My friend took me to Neighborhood Services to celebrate my birthday. I had never been and didn't really know what to expect - other than the brief reviews I read online before we went. I love food, I love to cook, to eat and always appreciate a fantastic meal. Neighborhood Services did not disappoint. Our appetizer, entrée and dessert were all cooked to perfection. I usually skip dessert if I order an appetizer, but I knew I would be missing out if I passed up dessert. The restaurant is pricey - but worth a visit for a special occasion or a splurge every now and then. We ordered the flatbread for an appetizer, I had shrimp for dinner and we had an apple crisp for dessert. Service was great and the restaurant felt 'cozy.'

So glad this NSB is open for lunch; it's a great lunch spot! Enjoyed the asparagus appetizer and the daily specials were just that: special! Indeed. The atmosphere is calm and fairly quiet -- good for conversation. The service was attentive but never intrusive. I will definitely go back.

my family are in and out of Love field often WE DINE AT NHS often, great food, service, buzz always, beer menu is awesome

the address for this listing is outdated. The new NS in Addison is catty corner to Whole Foods on Beltling/Tollway. If you have been to their other locations you will find a bigger (longer) bar area, the same attentive service, great American food menu and what I enjoy is the eclectic cocktail menu. Chicken Pot Pie is a favorite of mine, pass on the Kale salad, but the meatball apps is hit with most patrons. You will need a reservation on the weekends. Not open for lunch. Wish it was. Lovely outside patio when the weather cooperates.... Great new addition to Addison's high density restaurant town.....

I love this place so much that I have actually eaten here for lunch and dinner in the same day. I live 4 hours away and always include this restaurant in my Dallas plans.

We have gone to Neighborhood Services a number of times, but I have never ordered an entree off the menu until the most recent visit ordering the Funk Del Monico steak. First off, this is arguably the best steak I have ever had! Second, the reason I never order from the menu is because their constantly rotating specials sound so appetizing when described by their impressive staff, which never disappoint. I would put this restaurant up against any restaurant in the country! We challenge ourselves to constantly try new restaurants but keep coming back to NHS. Comfortable ambiance and top notch food/service.

We came here with regulars who raved about the food. Almost everything seems to be super hot and or deep fried (which for me takes a while to get used to..) However, the burgers are the best as are the fries, salads are great (had the Wedge My Way but ask them not to drown it in dressing), the fried little asparagus are the best as well as Spicy Tuna Tartare (very hot/spicy). We were a party of six with reservations and had to wait about 15 mins. Crazy, lively bar scene but then it was Thanksgiving weekend. Forget coming here if you want to talk. we were in a booth and my husband, who was next to me couldn't hear me whatsoever. Service was great, overall a good experience with parking to the left of the restaurant.

I can't say enough good things about NHS. I will gripe that their whiskey prices have sky rocketed over the last two years. Though I have been multiple times in the last five years, I have never had a bad meal. Excellent steaks, flatbreads, pastas, be daily specials grace the menu. I had to send a swordfish back once for being grossly overcooked, but it was so seamlessly handled by the staff that it was not a big deal at all. The place is nothing short of outstanding. Get the fired asparagus, any flatbread, the pork chop, the angry lobster, and the butterscotch pot de creme. Can't wait to go back!

My daughter and I went to Dallas to celebrate my son's 30th birthday, and although I had several recommendations from friends for FINE restaurants, Neighborhood Services is where he chose to celebrate. I was a bit disappointed he did not pick one of my restaurants, and I am so happy we ate here! A many stars dining experience for sure!! We had a reservation and had to wait about five minutes, and my daughter ordered a fine bottle of Italian wine from the bar for us to enjoy! When we were seated, we were overwhelmed with all of the fantastic choices, so we had three appetizers including Fried Litlte Asparagus and Roasted Green Chili and Jonah Crab Dip! Both were Divine! All four of us tried different entrees, and we loved them! Also tried several desserts. This is an A+ restaurant!

Had an amazing meal here. The food is incredible. Very nice relaxing atmosphere for just hanging out. Try the dry aged ribeye it is spectacular also, the meatball appetizer is great. This is definitely one I'll be back to.

Service was good, food was good, felt a little rushed on timing but other than that, Good experience. Would probably go again but not for a big outing with more than 4 people

Well, I can't say enough about this management and staff at NHS!. I called ahead to make certain my husband and I could have a table for dinner so that I could spring a special gift on him for our anniversary! The entire staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful in pulling off the surprise. But that is NOT where the "Good Stuff" ended! We sat at the bar upon arrival and both of us enjoyed chatting with the bartender and imbibing 2 very good cocktails and some appetizers. Our dinner was excellent! Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy my bolognese pasta, but it was only because it was created quite differently than my Italian nonna, so I do not fault NHS for this :) Then, during dinner, there was a celebration for the anniversary of NHS and one of the wonderful servers regaled us with an opera chorus. We will DEFINITELY return!

Hidden behind an unassuming door is this absolutely delightful restaurant! I’ve been here twice now and my expectations continue to be met (even surpassed)! The steak frites are delicious and the portion size is plentiful to say the least! The voodoo peppercorn sauce is the best sauce I’ve ever tasted — peppery and powerful with a hint of creaminess and acidity - perfection! The chips can be a little too salty but I couldn’t knock a star off for that considering the quality elsewhere! The ambience in the restaurant is lively without being overbearing. Simply an amazing restaurant!

From top to bottom a great experience. Very professional service throughout the meal. With so many interesting choices it was difficult to decide but settled on the Nebraska Steak and frites. But I shouldn't skip over the starters. The fried asparagus were lightly breaded and had great flavor. The meatballs had a crisp outside and well seasoned inside. The sauce they were served in would be terrific as a side with some Italian bread. The steak was well seasoned and the side of voodoo pepper sauce added just the right spice. We also side dishes of brussels sprouts and mac & cheese that were terrific. Unfortunately had no room for dessert after sampling all of that.

We had a very good time. The food and service are great, location is very nice even though the entrance is very discreet. Anyway, the meatballs are great, the delmonico steak is the best steak i've ever had. We drank a californian wine... Don't remember the name though. We ll get back asap :))

Great food, great atmosphere and well informed and helpful waiters. They have a whipped cauliflower substitute for mashed potatos that is delicious for those that are anxious about carb intake. It is always very crowded and tough to get into, that is why we hit it early around 5:30P for cocktails and then we can always get a table by 6:30P.

Neighborhood Services looks nondescript from the outside, but once you leave your car with the valet and go inside, the outside world disappears and you shift to the energetic yet welcoming vibe inside. The food is outstanding, and the daily specials are superb. Daily specials can be sold out by 8pm, so get there and order what you want quickly! The wait staff is very knowledgeable about the fresh, local and creative menu offerings - just a terrific dining experience. A place to go over and over.

Sat at the bar waiting to be seated at our table, got delicious fried asparagus appetizer. Service was very good, a little over-the-top. Food ranged from excellent (scallops) to very good (tenderloin was undercooked, but very tasty). Dark interior with cool decor, and adjacent valet parking round out the experience.

Great nightly specials and a nice wine list. Everything I've had has been great! Don't expect to get a table without a reservation

awesomely stocked bar with good pub food. Outside dining very comfortable with very attentive service. Appetizers varied and delicious including grilled Avocado on bruschetta. Enchiladas excellent. Demonic a steak as good as it gets. Nice comfortable atmosphere with value pricing

I slightly left my neighborhood bubble in Uptown, Dallas. I ventured out to Lovers Lane to dine at Neighborhood Services. They named this restaurant perfectly. They service the neighborhood extremely well. The setting is very upbeat casual. The place is always packed. The food is great and reasonably priced. Erik, our server, was excellent too. There is something on the menu for everyone to eat and not break your wallet. A great neighborhood gem. We will return soon!

Cocktails were excellent, food was excellent, and service was excellent. The Delmonico was cooked perfectly and had excellent marbling.

Everything we had to eat and drink was amazing, from the creative drink choices to the mussels to the steak frites. If you are looking for a cozy and quiet place, this is not your spot. NS was full of energy and crowded with lots of hungry diners waiting for a table. Don't be surprised if your table is not ready at your reserved time - take advantage of the fun bar and people watching. The wine list is great too and offers several affordable options. There are definitely some more eclectic dining venues with fancy food styling, but this spot consistently serves up the best tasting food in Dallas.

I had the bacon and egg salad and the shrimp & grits (which, as I recall, the waiter said had been brought back by popular demand). The salad was good, not large, and a bit difficult to eat. There was a rather large piece of crostini that that formed one of the salad's layers. It was rather hard to cut through, and it didn't add much to the salad. The shrimp & grits was ok -- I've had better. There weren't a whole lot of shrimp, and the dish lacked that richness that I think it should have. The vodka tonic I ordered was weak. I liked the somewhat nondescript industrial exterior, and the inside space was informal, comfortable, and not too loud (this was a Tuesday night, however).

Outstanding food - from the grilled asparagus appetizer, to the pasta special (shrimp scampi the day we were there), to desert - absolutely everything was great. We will definitely go back soon.

I'm a traditional diner. I rarely order anything other than meat or seafood but when my brother & sister-in-law were in Dallas for my 60th birthday this restuarant came to mind. They are always on the lookout for something new to them and exciting. This place hit it out of the park. Their flight had been delayed so they were ready to eat an early dinner on a Friday night. I called from the car and the very friendly hostess advised they could have a table ready for us at around 6pm. We arrived and the women who greeted us were very friendly. We were shown to a table across from the bar but was fine for us. The appetizer we ordered was extraordinary. Meatballs that were so delicate it seemed unbelieveable that they didn't fall apart. They are made from brisket & ground chuck with no filler. We ordered salads; Bibb for my SIL & Wedge for me and my brother. The wedge is one of my go to's and this was one of the best. My brother was blown away by his WI Veal Shoulder Schnitzel...said it was of the best meals he had. SIL had a Grunt fish special; despite the odd name she said it was excellent. I chose outside my comfort zone -- the handmade fetticine noodles which on this day were made with pancetta and a fried egg on top. This was definitely something I would not normally be offered or even ordered but it was spot on. Taking my out of town guest here proved to be a terrific choice!

I highly recommend booking a reservation at Neighborhood Services! My boyfriend and I went here on a Saturday night for dinner and the place was completely packed (I was lucky that I made a reservation ahead of time!). Not only is the food delicious but the portion sizes are huge! There are a lot of different options on the menu so there is something for everyone here.

Highly over rated bouchi spot. Loud, mediocre food and arrogant staff. Presentation is nothing special and the food was over cooked. Won't go back

Enjoyed the atmosphere and service at this surprisingly current restaurant. The area of town is definitely more industrial. Walked into another world. Had meatballs, fish, wine. Pricing is not low so bring your cash. Would go back.

I can't lie, this is one of my favorite places for Steak Frites! I love the atmosphere and the bar service is superior. Plenty of specialty drinks and good old fashioned staples. And, though Dallas is not known for star-spotting, this is one of the places where Owen Wilson can be found semi-regularly.....

Everything was well prepared and delicious. It was our server’s first night...he was well trained, we couldn’t tell it was his first night. Relaxed atmosphere, everything from our salads to coffee was delicious.

We were headed to a little Mexican place for a late Saturday night dinner when we discovered they closed in 20 minutes. No time to go there. Luckily we were right around the corner from Neighborhood Services and decided to swing in for a little dinner. We shared the porterhouse steak. Let me just say that every bite made me smile. Both the bar staff and wait staff were absolutely perfect. Small, not stuffy, and very welcoming. We will be back for sure.

Nice ambience and great food! The steaks are over the top delicious. Nice server- Hanna knew the menu really well! The bar is cool too! I'll be back! Expensive, but well worth it!

The quality of food and meat in particular is great. Service is fast and attentive, reasonably priced.

This was our first visit and our expectations were high as the restaurant was recently voted #1 by D magazine. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service remarkable. Ellen was cheery, knowledgeable and incredibly attentive (without hovering). I have had very good service at other restaurants, but this was among the very best. We will go back!

Had dinner (and I am using the term loosely) at the Neighborhood Services restaurant on Oak Lawn. Have eaten in the past at the Lovers Lane location so had high expectations which were quickly ground down into the dirt. First, temperature in the restaurant was freezing. Glad we brought jackets. Noise level (music) was almost painful. Could not talk to companion across the table. Service terrible. Waiter forgot our appetizer order completely and was less than apologetic for this. Main meal came. Companion's shrimp fettuccini was ok but small portion for $33 price (five small shrimp). I ordered fish and chips. Fish barely warm and fries were stone cold and soggy. Unable to eat. Have had this dish at the Lovers Lane location and loved it. Basically ended up with no dinner. Couldn't even get anyones attention to deal with this until my companion had eaten three quarters of their meal. No point in waiting for another attempt at reordering a meal. In a situation like this we should have been comped the entire meal. They still charged for one meal. (and I am not "that" person who tries to get out of paying for a meal). Incredibly poor service, terrible food, and uncomfortable environment. Will not be returning.

There is still the occasional relation that I tell about Neighborhood Services that think I'm talking about a YMCA or something. Some I leave in that thought and others I entice with the details. A well established place to the Dallas Foodie world. American comfy food. The ribeye continues to be a favorite for me. Nothing on the menu misses.

Hopping restaurant with delicious food. Everything our party if 4 ordered was succulent! We were sampling each other's meals all night long. We had the asparagus appetizer (twice!) and ordered the porterhouse, salmon, swordfish and fired fish with the max& cheese side for the table. A carnival of wonderfully cooked selections.. All fabulous! A great beer & wine selection and the bar is hopping. Don't be fooled by the austere exterior. Once you enter, you will love this restaurant. Our waitress was Julia and she was spectacular! One note: Not the place to go for a quiet, romantic dinner!

It was our anniversary so it was impossible to enjoy each other's company with the noise factor. The food was wonderful. One of the best steaks we've ever had. Hard to believe but the bar area was quieter. Maybe it isn't like this normally but there were 2 - 3 groups that were so loud and the acoustics in the restaurant apparently aren't addressed. Only saying tris since we have a design and construction firm so we know there are ways to mitigate these issues. Overall the food gets a 5 but the ambience gets a 3.

We arrived a little early and got drink at the bar. It was crowded but the bartender found us within a few minutes and the drinks were well conceived and well made. We were seated right around the time of our reservation. One thing to know is that it is a bit louder than most restaurants because the bar area isn't significantly partitioned from the dinning room. It's all really just one room. 6 inch voices will not be heard, but we didn't have a hard time carrying on a conversation throughout dinner. On to the good stuff. The meatballs were crispy on the outside and super tender and were served with the "Voodoo" sauce, which is basically a delicious gravy. The beet salad was great and light. I got the angry lobster and grits. I loved the level of spice, the lobster was well cooked and the grits were buttery. My wife got the half chicken. I tried a bite and it had a great flavor from the olives in the sauce. We finish with a crispy fried peach pie and the ding dong (dense chocolatey goodness with a cream center). My wife wished the ding dong came with ice cream so I gave her half of mine and all was well. I'm a bourbon guy and this place has a top tier bourbon selection. There's probably 20 bourbons, some of them really high end. I ended up sticking with cocktails because their mixologist seemed to know what they were doing. My favorite was the Angry Pecan Old Fashioned. They also had a decent beer selection and lots of wine. You will eat and drink well here. Summary: The atmosphere is lively (maybe noisy for some). Food, drinks, and service are an A+. Prices were not over-the-top outside of the steaks, which we did not try. My lobster was $31 and the most expensive item we ordered. Cocktails are $10-$12.

We had wonderful experience at Neighborhood Services. The food was delicious but expensive. We had an attentive waitress. Great evening.

The food always lives up to expectations. Wait staff is stellar from their uniforms to their always can do attitude. Management could take a page from the staff's attitude and dress attire. It is a very busy restaurant and patience is a virtue all should have!

I asked waiter what was good and he said chicken pot pie. I tried and was not good

We ate at the bar with Elizabeth taking care of us. Cocktail were great. The tomato marmalade on top of the pate was phenomenal. An absolute wonderful evening on a cold night.

I had never heard of this restaurant, but I saw it listed on Open Table, and thought I'd give it a try. I made 6pm dinner reservations, we arrived about 10 minutes early, and were seated right away. There is complimentary valet parking (very nice), and the atmosphere inside is kind of homey. There is a nice wine menu and a pretty extensive drink menu (I had a glass of white wine). Our waitress Ashley was very attentive and helpful. We started with the Tortilla soup, which was slightly sweet (I know that sounds weird, but it was actually really good). I had the caramelized scallops (yummy), and hubby had the grilled pork chop. Everything was cooked to perfection! The place got really crowded, so I'm glad I made the 6:00 reservations. We really enjoyed our meal and the portions were perfect sized, not overly large, not tiny. We were to full to try any of the deserts, maybe next time. Great meal!

I had the opportunity to have diner in Neighborhood Services, and the food is just great. Was my first visit in Texas, and I have to admit that I have been extremely impressed by the food, all dishes I had tasted, starters, excellent meat well cooked, cakes. Place was busy but with good ambiance. Easy to recommend. Not to be forgotten, service was just great as usual. A French guy visiting Dallas for the first time highly recommends this place.

We ate a lot of places in Dallas, Neighborhood Services in Dallas is probably the best. Great food, friendly staff. If you go ask for Gerry, she’s knowledgeable and an outstanding waitress. You definitely won’t be disappointed.

Kinda non dis script building, but cool interior. Don't try and order a Michelob Ultra they don't carry it. Had a Shiner Bock was good, but at 8.00 a draft I guess it should be. The food and service was great. Filet very good Scallop great Pork Chop great Mac an Cheese amazing Brussel Sprouts will make you come back

We were taken for a business meal. I have eaten all over the world and rate the food here as exceptional and the waiter one of the best I have encountered.

I was fortunate enough for a local business colleague to recommend Neighborhood Services for dinner during a recent trip. Really loved this place. First of all, it's the right size restaurant - doesn't have a voluminous feel but is also not laid out in such a way that all the tables are on top of each other. Very friendly and attentive service from greeting through dessert. Food choices generally reflect a current flare on traditional foods - somewhat akin to a high end steak house, but with more variety. You pick a main course, salary and sides all separately. Good wine list as well as whiskies. I had a mainstay dish, fish and chips, along with a blue cheese wedge salad with a side of broccoli rabe. All delicious. The side of brussell sprouts was also very good. We did receive a bottle of wine that we though tasted off - waiter immediately replaced it. Just an all around good experience and priced very reasonably for the quality of the food and service. If I were local, I'd definitely be back.

Located in a strip center, the outside doesn't look like much, but inside the food is great, the service is top notch, and it's hopping. Drinks were well made, menu options offered a wide variety of dishes covering meat, fish, chicken, and some vegetarian options. A little spendy at $50 per head, but the food made the price worth it.

Great service. Wonderful variety (seafood, steaks, chicken etc...) with something for everyone including picky children. Creative cocktails. A little crowded and dark but certainly worth an evening invested!

Visiting from out of town. Rave reviews compelled us to try. It was just ok. Scallops were very good. Short ribs SOUNDED delicious but were pretty tasteless and fatty. Dessert was a fried pie that tasted fried and rather bland. Certainly didn't live up to the hype. Great ambience but sadly we were seated next to a rather loud/obnoxious man so even that was diminished.

We recently returned to Dallas to visit good friends and had a Saturday dinner at Neighborhood Services, the original location on West Lovers Lande. It was one of our favorite restaurants when we lived in Dallas and we weren't disappointed on the return. Yes, it's noisy, and yes, it's a little bit low-lit. But the food is unquestionably some of the best being served in Dallas, and the servers are attentive and knowledgeable without being the least bit over-bearing. The tempura asparagus and butcher's meatballs with voodoo peppercorn sauce (which makes me want to lick my plate) are must-haves for starters, and Nick's steak of the night was astonishingly good and big enough to feed three people. And the noodle of the day-- which was their take on homemade fettucine carbonara-- was a creamy, earthy, sinfully good accompaniment, along with garlicky sauteed spinach and their phenomenally addictive hand-cut frites. Add a very nice wine list, an incredible offering of small-batch American whiskies, and a suite of talented bar-keeps, and you have the recipe for one of your best restaurant outings in the Metroplex. We have never, ever had a bad meal or bad experience here. But be warned: you might drive by it (the signage is inconspicuous), and come prepared for a wait, because the joint is hopping and doesn't take reservations.

Neighborhood Services, Lovers Lane is totally awesome. Excellent Bar selection, changing menu selections and friendly waitstaff. And the flavors? Its amazing.

Can't say enough good things about Neighborhood Services. We've had many dinners and lunches here and always love it! The service has always been exceptional as well. It's clear why they have grown to have several locations as they do a great job of giving the guest a solid experience that will bring you back!

Came here during a business trip. Must haves: steak frites and the meatballs. Has to be some of the best meatballs I've had. Steak was cooked perfectly. Wonderful drink selections and friendly staff. Desserts could be a little better. Overall satisfying meal with hearty portions.

They won the best restaurant award from D Magazine for good reason. The food, the atmosphere, and the service! My favorite menu items are the Jonah crab dip, the wedge salad, the sliced steak, and whatever noodle special they're having. At this location it can be hard to find a table so if you can't get in here call up the road to NHS at Royal and Preston (the name's a little different but it's the same restaurant).

My son lives in Dallas and he told us he had fallen in love with the food and service at this restaurant. So while visiting we went there with him, The staff were friendly and helpful. The bartender makes up drinks if you would like and the server knew his stuff. The food is high quality and interesting to all different eating preferences - meat, fish, vegetarian. It can be challenging to get a reservation at dinner time and I experienced why - very popular.

Great cocktails to start and to go with the Kung Pao Rock Shrimp, and Butchers Meatballs. The rock shrimp were outstanding. Main courses were Scallops, Daily Pasta, Pheasant Milanese, and Veal Shoulder Schnitzel, with sides of spinach and frites. All dishes we rated highly for content and presentation. We ordered a Louis Jadot Pinot Noir but it was flat and oily. Our waited checked, agreed it was not what it should be and produced a new bottle, which was excellent. We had 2 bottles! Dessert was a shared cake of the day and caramel pot de creme. The pot de creme was rich creamy deliciousness - a real winner. A great meal and service and a must for anyone in Dallas. Only criticism was the service was some what rushed.

My first time to eat here and it was outstanding!!! I had the wedge salad and one of the fish specials from that day. The bread pudding was awesome too. Waitstaff was very entertaining and friendly.

From valet to our server Brandon...FLAWLESS!!! The highlights and must haves: mussels appetizer (incredible), Fish & couscous entree (best couscous I've ever had) and the Brussel sprout side (the benchmark)!!!! Very inviting and hospitable energy with the concept. You'll feel like you've just discovered this hidden jewel.

Had a business meeting here. This was my old stomping ground growing up in the 60's and there were no place to eat this like then! The menu was creative and ambitious and our selections were excellent and more than ample. Prices were reasonable and the service good. Definitely going back. Was told by my local friends that getting a table on a weekend night can be a real problem: I can see why. Really good choice to go there.

Small; intimate; superb service; superb food quality & preparation. Well-thought-out eclectic Menu; Daily Specials; Wine List. Yet ... Still simple; not overdone. Better call for Reservation. This place is popular ... for good reason! This has become my wife's & my "go to restaurant" in Dallas.

Great lunch and dinner spot, perfect for a high quality meal, a great glass of wine and quiet enough to have a business or social conversation!

Was having a beer at an unassuming bar next door while waiting to pick up a colleague at Love Field. The bartender asked if I'd eaten at Neighborhood Services and I said that I had not. He went next door and came back telling me that he had my name on the list in a couple of hours from then. I laughed because it was a random Wednesday early evening. When I came back from Love field my colleague and I went to the restaurant, expecting it to be vacant, but couldn't have been more wrong. The place was jam packed with a two hour wait. The service was pretty good, but the waiter was constantly up-selling us to anything on the menu that was more expensive, but I guess that's his job. The food was exceptionally good and they have a side sauce that I can't recall what its' called, but make sure to ask for it. It's delicious on everything!

Went on a Friday night with a reservation for 10pm. We went early with hopes of getting in sooner but no dice. The place was packed! We ended up getting a spot at the bar and ordered there and I don't feel like we missed anything at all. Our bartender was fantastic and very knowledgeable, she knew the menu like a seasoned server and had great recommendations. The Asparagus app was just perfectly cooked. The Pork Chop is to die for, great crust but super juicy. And the Apple Pie was fantastic. Finished the night off with a glass of Pappy Van Winkle 20 yr. Will definitely be back next time we're in town!

It might be that I had take out, but the pasta that was recommended came slopped in a styrofoam box. It had a small amount of pancetta, some sad looking red peppers, and an unremarkable cheese. It was completely unsatisfying for $18 and I ended up throwing it away after two bites. Other guests seemed to be enjoying their meals, so perhaps mine was the exception, not the rule.

We went to this location (Lovers Lane) for our anniversary, having been to the locations in Addison and on Preston Rd. Parking is tight in this neighborhood so they have complimentary valet. Be sure to tip the driver. The food was excellent. We started with half a dozen oysters ($19) and they were fresh and delicious. I then ordered the tuna crudo ($17) with some kind of ginger sauce and it was superb. I could eat that all night. The wife ordered halibut ($35) for the entree while I went with the nightly special, fried chicken ($23). The halibut was cooked perfectly. She also ordered a side of mac n' cheese ($7) and it was really good, rich and creamy. My fried chicken had excellent crust that the wife said was really well seasoned although I did not taste it. The greens were superb, and the mashed potatoes were really tasty. I could not eat everything. Our server, Eric, could not have been better. The valet guy forget to give me a ticket to retrieve my car so Eric went to get it for me. What a gem. The atmosphere is adult upscale and it was such a pleasure not to have to endure screaming kids. The place was absolutely packed on a Tuesday night. We already knew that Neighborhood Services is a winner, and this experience solidified our opinion. Can't wait to return!

Neighborhood Services is a gem of a spot in Dallas and Dallas knows it. Known for the quality of their food and the constantly changing menu, this small restaurant delivers culinary delights adding their own flair to each item. The blue crab and artichoke dip came with fresh made salsa and warm tortilla chips. It was delicious and the salsa was so complex and delightful it almost stole the show. The Texas Bibb salad seemed so fresh it might have been picked in the morning. For entrees we enjoyed the Angry lobster and grits and a steak aged in a sea salt lined room known as "Funk Room" Delmonico. Both entrees were stellar, but if I had to pick between the two, that lobster was amazing. As it was a special occasion, we also indulged in dessert. A butterfinger hot fudge banana split. HEAVEN! My only regret for our visit is that we did not arrive with bigger appetites as I would have loved to try more dishes. Service was top notch. I was impressed at the perfect flow of dishes to our table and that the drinks arrived in a timely manner, too. Usually I get my coffee half way through a dessert but not this night. It arrived with enough time to be tweeked to perfection and sipped once before dessert was set on the table. For weekend seatings, make reservations and you better reserve your spot a well in advance. Six days ahead of our date the seating options were 5:30 or 9:30. Week nights are likely a different story. Be sure you put the address in your GPS and use it. The restaurant is small and blends into the surrounding buildings. It can easily be missed and that would be a terrible loss.

Waited 25 minutes past my reservation time. They were out of the daily special, they were out of the chicken parmigiana and they were out of one of the fish specials. I had the scallops, they were small and had an off putting taste. The wine list is pathetic and extremely overpriced.

Love everything about NHS. The menu and food is outstanding. The service is by far the best in Dallas, and the Southwest for that matter. If you like beef, order it, and fish, everything is Fresh. Make a reservation.

This space was a dive bar, then a disco, a singles hangout dive off and on for years. It's a shoe box design, without any windows. I find it very claustrophobic and uncomfortable with stale air and not much to distract you in the way of beautiful views or pleasant visuals. Just bustling bus boys and waiters with stuffy people stuffing themselves. Now it's a Parkie foodie lab restaurant that has made it big in the media. For good reason, if you like to rub elbows with the Parkies and spend 3x more than what you get. This is your place to eat and be seen. Everyone from out of town must go there, food is good. Lacks imagination, and reminds me of eating in a garage. Noise level can be irritating, nothing special overall for an experience other than stuffing your face and seeing all the notable Parkies.

Fun atmosphere, great food and drinks. Very very loud so plan to only be able to hear who you are sitting very close to. Valet parking...but a huge pothole when you pull in so be careful!

Visited this restaurant for the first time recently. Had a very good experience. we were welcomed warmly, brought right to our table, and greeted promptly by our waiter. It was a Tuesday night, but the place was busy the entire time we were there. Every dish we had was prepared the way we wanted it, and they were very accommodating to one of our party's lactose intolerance. I had the Bay of Fundy tuna, which was very firm, moist, and flavorful. My wife had the tortilla soup, which was delicious. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the preparation of several dishes we were interested in. The wine list is not extensive, but of high quality. The atmosphere is an interesting blend of saloon and European, but comes off as quintessentially Dallas. There are a couple of items which might be detractions for some, a combination of which prevented me from rating it 5 stars: There is no children's menu (obviously not their target audience); it is very noisy, which inhibited conversation; it is a bit pricey; and the only parking option is valet. Taken alone, only the noise issue would be a consideration for our return, but we would not bring young people with us again.

Met colleagues there for dinner, staff was super courteous. Waited for a table and decide to eat in bar area. All the food was prepared perfectly, they are doing something very right here.

My wife and I are mature (very!) adults that have experienced hundreds of restaurants in our years, but during and after our meal at Neighborhood Services Bar & Grill, we agreed that no dinner has ever pleased us more. We had several of the establishment's most popular appetizers, including a lovely asparagus tempura and a plate of absolutely delightful meatballs that somehow managed to be deeply savory and light at the same time. Denise chose a Redfish entre that was so full of flavor that I was jealous, even though my plate was full of one of the very best KC Strip beefsteaks I've ever encountered. We normally don't order desserts, but given the quality of this meal and the desire to extend it as long as possible, we had the classic butterscotch dish. Made from scratch from, oh my, butter and Scotch whiskey, cream and who-knows-what-goodies, we ate it all and licked the spoons. Treat yourself to a casual but very high quality meal.

NHS is one of our favorite restaurants in Dallas. Great vibe with good music and lively bar scene. The food is excellent, unpretentious modern American. As busy as the place is the servers are knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Book well in advance!

You know what your gonna get, and it is good. Wonderful service, strong drinks and excellent food. Imaginative specials every time, also. Must try when in Dallas - it is our favorite restaurant.

Our daughter took us to Neighborhood Services for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Truly an excellent experience all around. Our server, Eric, did an excellent job and the food was outstanding. For an appetizer I highly recommend the brisket nachos. I’ve never had them anywhere before and they are so good. For our entrees we had the fish and chips, cheeseburger, and wedge salad. Next time we are in Dallas we will make a return visit!!

This place was smaller than I pictured but the food and service was great. The team there was very personable and attentive. The food was amazing. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the fried asparagus were out of this world. My fillet was very tasty. I live over an hour away from this place, but I will be making the trip back very soon.

The food was spectacular! What a great combination of flavors within each dish and a great variety within the menu. Great service and they have Chappellet wine, one of our favorites. The only drawback? The noise level.....Being such a popular place brings many guests and we were all sitting very close to one another. Maybe not so loud on a non weekend night? If a noisy restaurant doesn't bother you, go for this place!

My wife and I met up with family for dinner. We waited at the bar until our party arrived and one of the bartenders filled us in on specials and food items that we might want to try. This is a very popular spot so it gets a little busy. The service didn't suffer and was prompt and friendly. Try the meatball appetizer.

The Setting: Eight (8) visits in the last year (original location at Inwood and Lovers) The VIBE: 4 stars - clean, comfortable, if a little cramped. Long and narrow space with a usually casually crowded bar at the front. Crowd is mostly local Devonshire/HP people coming from work on the weekdays, large age range on the weekends. Music and conversation is lively without being too loud. The SERVICE - 4 stars - wait staff is attentive without being annoying and every server knows the menu well (they have 5 specials every day, so wait to hear them before committing...) The FOOD - 4 stars - Almost everything I've tried here is great, but very rarely does a dish "wow" me. I usually succumb to one of their specials so its hard to recommend the on-menu items. I typically stick to an iteration of roasted chicken or one of their fish specials, as the accompanying sauces/juices are always awesome! Recently, their half-chicken dish, their crusted flounder, and their amberjack have all been memorable. The Bottom Line: Consistent meal with an upscale yet casual balanced vibe, make a reservation if possible as the place gets crowded during the 7-9 hours. If it's too crowded, Rex's Seafood across the street is a good back-up.

Dining at Neighborhood Services is a pleasure. The food is perfectly cooked, the service is impeccable, and the environment is intimate EVERY TIME! Reservations are recommended to this restaurant - I always request a booth or banquette vs. a table for a more intimate dinner. This is a great place for special occasions, business dinners, getting together with friends or for any time you have a hankering for beef. Their steaks are phenomenal. Don’t be deceived by the nondescript facade of the restaurant - behind two doors is a buzzing hive of activity. Drinks at the bar are a fun way to start a meal and the music is always spot on to set the mood. Neighborhood Services is one of my favorite Restaurants in Dallas. The fact that it’s in my neighborhood makes this hidden gem the crown jewel!

Great place. A pleasant, simple grill atmosphere. Fantastic service. Impressive menu. Nice beef steak and pork options. Two fish of the day options: sockeye salmon and halibut. Both were super. Great sides. Wine menu acceptable. Valet parking. Great evening and a good value.

I went to NS tonight with family. The good news - the appetizers were good. We had the crab dip , meatballs and fried asparagus. All very good. The bad news. I had possibly the worst pork chop ever. Undercooked and full of fat. The waiter never asked how the meal was despite a full plate left over at the end. This place is so highly rated it was a huge disappointment

I had never been here before. Some friends who are local recommended it. Very attentive staff, great atmosphere, awesome drinks, and delicious food. I ordered a cocktail (can't remember the name) with bourbon, raw egg, and some zesty ingredients... so good. For appetizers, we ordered the butcher's meatballs and the kung pao gulf shrimp. Both were awesome. Meatballs don't sound very unique or exciting, but these were definitely worth it. There were many specials to choose from for the main entree... I had the flounder which was also excellent. For dessert, I had the pot de creme. I love this place and if and when I come back to Dallas, I will certainly return for dinner.

We went for the first time for dinner on a Tuesday night. We were the first diners there and were seated back by the service area. When we sat down, I got a strong whiff of ammonia cleaning solution and thought it was a floor cleaner they used in the kitchen. We mentioned it to the waiter and he didn't seem to know the cause. I leaned over and discovered that our tabletop was the source. Apparently, they clean the tables with an ammonia-based cleaner. Not the best odor when you want to enjoy the smell of food. Anyway, we were pleased with our food - everything we ordered was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Personally, I find the setting a little claustrophobic - no windows and the lighting is a bit dim. The chef can definitely cook, but I wouldn't go back - too many other choices in Dallas.

First timers cause they now take reservations - hurray! Low key, very casual dress, tightly packed tables and very competent waiters and the visible chef on the floor. Ceviche with peaches and shrimp a real winner and beautiful presentation. Brisker flatbread was really yummy and a great starter. The watermelon gazpacho was so a great take on the tomato version. A little too sweet for my tastes but my husband loved it! I had the redfish paired with couscous and my husband had the scallops with the tomatoes, polenta and chorizos. We shared the pot de creme dessert which was just wonderful! My only surprise was sitting next to another table with two under 5 y. o. kids, so be prepared that there will be kids around.

Six of us had dinner at Neighborhood Services and were blown away. First off, the décor and atmosphere of the restaurant is spot on. Careful attention is obvious in the way the restaurant has been laid out and the attendant objets d'art. The vibe is casual with mostly young professionals. The service is attentive as well as knowledgeable. The menu is interesting in that there is a great selection of dishes and they are all well prepared. The menu is extensive and the food extremely well prepared and plated. The wine list is a bit limited but is fine for the menu and occasion. This is a place one shouldn't miss. You won't be disppointed

Great Tavern environment with fine dining! Tavern and fine dining don't often go together, but this place is worth a try. Service was fantastic. I will be a repeat customer.

This was our first time and we will be back. The bartender was great while we waited for our table. The restaurant is somewhat laud back and the atmosphere is great. The food and service were first class. The appetizers and seafood were awesome. Highly recommend.

Sort of a secret spot, just a narrow space between other spaces on the long row of this and that of Lovers Lane in Big D. Enter the candlelit realm of servers milling about, their aprons long and toe/floor touching as they stand at the bar drinking coffee or hang over a table and stumble through remembering all the specials of the day/week so they can let you know all about them (a fresh sheet would be better, and a list of things to clean while they are standing around waiting to do something would be great for the servers and less embarrassing for the customers as they are being stared at by bored employees). Even so, the tall shelves of the bar welcome you with lots of choices in wines and whiskeys. The menu is robust with all things dark and brown, even brown spaetzle (how'd they do that?), but at least a little green garnish pops up now and then, here and there. Food is good, if somewhat inelegantly arranged on heavy plates. Would you go back here? Sure, if you're meeting other 45-75 year olds in this long, dark hallway of a place for a drink, for a business meeting, for a club thing, for a French fry. Probably wouldn't return if you're expecting any sort of panache to go with the $11 inelegant sandwich on a plate with a blob of (okay, tasty) fries. Meh.

This is my favorite go to restaurant in Dallas when we are wanting something on the "nicer" side. Food, drinks, service - all incredible. I always get one of the fish specials.

A friend from Dallas took me here a few nights ago while I was in town for business. It was his first visit even though he lives in the area but had only recently heard about this small gem. Wouldn't know it was there is not looking for it as it has a very small sign. The food was excellent. We both had one of the two fish specials that were on the menu that night and thoroughly cleaned our plates. My Manhattan was made exactly as I ordered it. One note of caution - if you are looking for something quiet and romantic do not go here because it gets really noisy as the restaurant fills up. Would definitely return.

One of several locations that serve some of the most consistently good fine dining in Dallas (I like Lover's but actually prefer the Preston and Royal atmosphere slightly more). Many outstanding dishes including the pork chop, ribs on Saturdays and any of the fish selections. Get the Brussel sprouts as they will rival any you have had. The butterscotch custard for desert was awesome. Great food in a cozy neighborhood setting!

Ate here last month with another couple. The food was amazing. I ordered the special of the evening which was the sole. It was one of the best sole dishes I have ever had. We started with the meatballs and they were hearty and had a great flavor. They have fun cocktails as well. I highly recommend it for a date night.

The Monday Meatloaf is the best ever. Having had this several months, I returned and it was better than ever. Dense, with a dark meaty gravy - this is a "cant miss" favorite. Throw in the Deep Fried Asparagus and you have a little bit of heaven.

Fabulous food & service! Love being able to make a reservation, and even happier that they held it for us while we battled downpour and traffic to get there. Blackberry Smash is a not-too-sweet bourbon drink that takes the edge right off the transportation troubles. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly (and adorable); his favorite menu item, steak frites, was among the best I've ever had. We were tempted to take my straw and use it to slurp up the rest of the peppercorn sauce that accompanied both the appetizer meatballs and the steak, but since we were in Dallas, we thought we should use our good behavior. My husband's veal schnitzel & black pepper spetzel was very good, but it will be the steak frites that we order again. Butterscotch pot de creme is molasses-y, brown buttery goodness (you will want an espresso to balance it, and you're in luck because their espresso is just right with a large lemon peel). If we lived in Dallas, I would have a hard time going anywhere else for date night!

I've been here tree times - so far and loved it every time. Although it is small and you should be prepared for a bit of a wait... The food is so good and I struggle to make up my mind every time. Love the tempua asparagus and the po de creme for dessert. I have also had mussels, lamb and fresh pasta. All are awesome. Not to mention the fantastic service!

Visited NS over the weekend and again enjoyed a superb meal with great waitstaff assistance. The meatball appetizer was fab as always, and the lightly fried asparagus was outstanding again. Loved the halibut special and the brown noodles special. And, the Robert Craig Cab--recommended by BL, the best waiter ever--was delicious.

The original NS is within walking distance of my house...I feel so fortunate! Love the atmosphere and the food. Have always had excellent service as well. Highly recommend!

Eclectic menu, delicious food and drinks, outstanding service. Accommodated a large group on short notice. Will be back. Great place. Thank you!

Lots of nice choices, including some really innovative and fun appetizers. Great bar, fairly good service.

If you want good food and drinks in a great ambiance, then this is the place! The place waa packed. Luckily I had made reservations during the day. Dinner was amazing and the dessert was to die for, the banana pudding. Would definitely go back. It is incredible how this place was so packed on an early Tuesday evening. Guess that means the place is simply fabulous. Also did not spend that much which is important.

This restaurant is one of our favorite go to restaurants when we return to Dallas! It has the Park Cities Bluff View vibe, with energetic and engaging staff! We really enjoyed our recent dining experience with Anna hosting. The real to go, though, beside service is FOOD thoughtfully created and delicious to the palate, along with great cocktails, great wine selection. This time we both ordered specials, redfish with grits in a spicy sauce for me, and hubby ordered the sole, equally inventive spin on the classic meunière, served with polenta.... exquisite and tasteful. The wedge is probably the best in town!

Always excellent service and food. Very popular so it's very crowded. Reservations are required. When I say crowded, I mean busy and crowded as in very close tables. It's almost as if you are dining family style. I could sometimes hear conversation at the next table better than my own table. The noise level is very loud, too loud to have an enjoyable dining experience. Excellent food, disappointing atmosphere. It's just an annoying roar. I would only go back because the food is great but only if someone else insisted and is paying the tab.

The service was wonderful but after many times visiting I must say it was so disappointing. The drinks were watery, the meatballs SUPER raw, the wine was served at almost freezing temperature, the Friday special was noodles mixed with sour tasteless “short rib” shredded meat, the peach fried pie was microwaved hot and made it totally rubbery and the final insult was $8 for a capuchino. After many years of being good customers at all locations, I do not think we will return.

I love food and I love the experience of eating...this place has it all. Amazingly unique foods, great ambiance, excellent service, top quality restaurant. The flavors were like an explosion of typical foods with a twist to make them one step beyond delicious and the portions were like a great first date--enough to fill you, but left you wanting just one bite more. Highly recommend.

Six of recently dined here. Service was excellent, atmosphere energetic. We shared a number of appetizers and bottles of wine. Had the asparagus, several salads, scallops and meatballs - all were delicious. The vibe was very cool and understated. Being from out of town, we drove right by it the first time. Valet parking is really the only option, but a good one. I would go back.

We went here for dinner on a Saturday night and had our usual fantastic experience. The food is wonderful but the service is even better. This time we had Kurt and he was great, very helpful, friendly, funny, and efficient. I tried the burger ($19) and it was messy, runny, and rather hard to eat--just like a good burger should be. I actually ended up deconstructing it to taste the meat, which was flavored well. I asked for medium and it came out a bit rarer than I like, but it was ok. The wife tried the noodles that are homemade with meat sauce ($21). Really good, though a bit salty. We also tried the nachos as an appetizer and though they are rather expensive ($16) the flavors are excellent and it was the best thing we tried that night. This place is a winner and we will return.

I have been to NHS at least a half dozen times. The food is good although somewhat overpriced, the staff is not very attentive, I usually end up having to ask for refills for water or tea, and rarely have they ever come back to check to see if I'm satisfied with my meal. This is one of the loudest restaurants in Dallas, so I try to sit on the patio when I go so I can hear my guests.

My son took me to Neighborhood Services on a recent trip to Dallas. Lively place. Friendly service. Great food. No wonder it's packed.

We had gone there on a Tuesday evening and it was packed! We had reservations but reached about 30 mins earlier but they could not seat us any earlier than our reserved time. But it was fun hanging out at the bar. The drinks were awesome! There were 3 of us and this is what we had Coctails Bramble Smash was DELICIOUS Starters OYSTERS ON THE HALF - Great! flatbread - good Salad - okay Main course CARAMELIZED SEA SCALLOPS Fabulous! Red Fish. The blackened red fish was wonderful A white fish that was Fish #3 - Fabulous! Really enjoyed the experience! Our waitress was very knowledgeable and gave us good suggestions. Very noisy coz its a very small place. Hip place but you certainly dont have to dress up but if you are u wont feel overdressed. Overall great experience!

all 4 of us had outstanding meals, sides were good too. Steak perfect, fish was well done. Cant wait to go back

What a great evening w/ friends! We started out w/ meatballs & asparagus, which were both yummy. For dinner we had the lemon sole, fried chicken, and steak special ~ all were absolutely fabulous. The sides we shared were Brussels sprouts, sautéed spinach, and cream potatoes ~ would totally have them all again. Dessert consisted of the chocolate lava cake & butterscotch pot de creme, which was THE BOMB!! Oh my word, I won't be able to go back & not have that again! Service & ambience were both great! Our server, Will, was fantastic!!

We have been going to the original Neighborhood Services since it opened in 2008 and even to this day we fall more in love with the place every time we go. Over the years the staff has changed as well as the menu at times but the food and the service are consistently good. The spicy tuna tartare and the meatballs with their voodoo peppercorn sauce are two of our favorite appetizers in all of Dallas. The wedge salad comes with the freshest tomatoes and blue cheese as well as some delicious thick cut bacon. For the main course some of our favorites are: the fish and chips, any of the nightly fishes, the steak frites with the voodoo peppercorn sauce, and the Delmonico steak which matches up with any steak in the city. You can't go wrong with any of the nightly pastas as well. For dessert, the fried pies are amazing especially the cherry and the lemon blueberry. If you want an amazing dinner with great service then go see our friends at Neighborhood Services, you won't be disappointed. Nick Badovinus is one of the best chefs in Dallas!

The service was excellent and the food...was AWESOME. The table had the pork chop, a snapper, swordfish and the scallops...oh the scallops. My wife is a scallop connoisseur, she orders them every time they are on a menu and she tells me they are not easy to get perfect. These were PERFECT.

Met friends at this Lover's Lane "hole in the wall"...and was surprisingly very pleased with the experience. Service was first class, food exceeded expectations and the whole place had a very good vive...Daily specials are great change from the regular menu...Enjoy!

I liked the menu (wide variety) and the food and the dark atmosphere. I felt very comfortable here and the restaurant does offer one or two tables off the beaten path so you can have quiet business meetings over lunch. I found the staff to be professional.

Missed it twice on a drive by -- tiny sign, traffic etc. -- even knowing where it was! Finally found parking down the block, and walked back into the cool dark interior. We were lucky, as it was nearly 7:30pm and even on a Wednesday night, the place was packed. So we grabbed the only two seats on the end of the bar and decided to eat there vs waiting for a table. Decided on the Fish & Chips, and it turned out to be a good choice: the Fish was crisp and perfect, accompanied with a very interesting vinegarette slaw. The fries, unfortunately, were limp but we didn't have the time or temerity to send them back. Service was great; prices were high but not unexpected for a restaurant in the heart of Dallas' rich&famous district: all wine by the glass in double-digits and entrees ~ $20-28 if I remember correctly; except for the best steak which I think was $50. Hope to get a chance to try this again sometime with more time and a better appetite, and under less-trying circumstances. (We'd just put a family member in a nearby hospital.)

Nothing fancy about this restaurant when it comes to decor but it doesn’t really need it as it just delivers great food backed by good friendly service . Had the specials but going back to try that burger .

My son and daughter-in-law treated my wife and I to an amazing dinner at Neighborhood Services on Lovers Lane Saturday night, March 15th. We started off the evening with the amazing meatballs in "voodoo" sauce. Don't know how to describe except you need to try them to understand. The lightly battered fried asparagus were also amazing. After the appetizers, we ordered a burger, grilled cod and an amazing sirloin steak with a fried egg on top. These entrees were served and we ate until we could eat no more. This is an amazing restaurant and Brandon, our waiter, was absolutely the best! We finished the night with an amazing "Butterfinger" banana split. You will never go wrong when choosing this restaurant for the dinner meal. Absolutely amazing!

Neighborhood Services is one of my favorite places to eat in Dallas. The atmosphere is relaxed (business casual or even jeans), but the food is delicious. The servers are knowledgable and friendly. They have a decent wine list and a variety of cocktails. I have a relative who is a chef who interviewed there. He was impressed with their kitchen and their attitude about the business. It's a winner all the way around. I'm addicted to the meatballs. Their aged steaks are so tender and flavorful. The chicken pot pie is the ultimate comfort food. Their fish specials have yet to disappoint. As you can tell, I visit often.

I come here 2+ times a month. Well, either this location or the one in addison. Here is why Specific to this location: Young, engaging wait staff that can be very relaxed and fun, or more distant and respectful, all depending on how you engage with them. Consistently happy with how they treat me weather im on a date, alone grabbing a bite, our with family, ect. About NHS in general: Always great food. The oysters change with whats fresh an im almost always guaranteed to order 12 to start with. The butchers meatballs are one of their signature appetizers and cannot be missed. My favorite steak in Dallas is the Delmonaco ribeye they sell here, and at the addison location. $50ish steak, worth every penny. flavor is top tier, to rival any Nick and Sams or Al Biernat's. Everything here is quite pricey but its all great food. expect $25-$40 entrees and up to $20 apps. This location is packed on weekends too, so expect a wait if you can get a table at all as a walk in.

We took a car and driver from the hotel and he drove by three times before I found the place. This made me somewhat skeptical but no fear. The restaurant is a fun place; lively bar atmosphere and pleasant dinnig room. It is a bit loud so not a place for romance. The server, Brandon, was top shelf and the food was very very good. We had mussels, a burger, and steak frites. All were cooked beautifully and the meal was wonderful. It was my birthday so Brandon brought over a dessert on the house. It was butterscotch pudding that doesn't sound like much but was sooooo yummy!

Calendar invite was given for this location for a group dinner. Organizer went to another location of same restaurant. Work colleague and I had ubered here and we were hungry so we just sat at bar for cocktails and wound up eating. Wow!! The food was awesome and the two women working the bar were friendly and very helpful. If you eat here, at bar or at tables you have to have the nachos. Best I have ever had!! When I come to Dallas I typically do not eat seafood, but this time I had the scallops and was not disappointed.

This is a great place to get together with friends; it's dark as anything inside but the food and drinks are delicious. There is always a good selection for the fish of the day, and their nightly specials are delicious (Monday's meatloaf is heaven). Don't pass up the butterscotch pudding; it is to die for. Great wine list and some good craft cocktails. Make reservations as it gets crowded early!

From start to finish neighborhood services was a curated experience. Young, casual, and exclusive. The food was delicious, the décor was a relaxed chic, the service was impeccable. It reminded me of an extremely relaxed county club atmosphere. It would be a little loud for a conversation if one were there for an intimate dinner...but perfect for family dinner, a night out with friends, etc.

I saw a review of this place and we decided to go this weekend. Absolutely loved it. A gem hidden in Dallas! Will go back soon for Pot Pie (Thursday special)

I was in town with some of the new team I hired and they are are local to the area. They wanted to take me to one of their favorites and it did not dissapoint. The sole was delicious along with the dessert of pudding we had.

I can't say one negative thing about this restaurant. We went in for dinner on a very busy Saturday night. The food was outstanding. The service was even better. I love the busy atmosphere. Sort of a controlled chaos with everything working just right.

My wife and I finally got to try out Neighborhood Services for Valentine's Day. I promised her I wouldn't make review notes during dinner, so I'm doing most of this off of memory. We arrived a little early just to be on the safe side, and also because I'm slightly OCD about being on time. Oh well, this gave us time to relax at the bar for a few minutes while we waited for the reservation. As usual, my wife and I had polar opposite drink orders: a fruity Beauty School Drop Out for her, two fingers of Johnnie Walker Black for me. It was hard picking just one appetizer, but we settled on the Butcher's Meatballs. They were amazingly tender, and basically fell apart with the slightest touch. I found a slight sweetness to them with spicy undertones. The accompanying voodoo peppercorn sauce also added a great flavor. This was an awesome way to start our meal. For the entree round, I picked their Conner's Tennessee BBQ Rub'd Rib Chop, which comes with a country ham and cheddar mini-mac and bourbon apple jam. This big double-chop was cooked to a perfect medium, with a beautiful char from the grill. It was incredibly succulent and juicy. The bbq rub gave the pork a great seasoning, and the bourbon-apple combo added a nice sweetness. As for the mini-mac, it was creamy and delicious. There was also a great crunchy topping that added some nice texture. The country ham was tasty, and adding meat to anything is always a good idea. There were a few complex flavors in the mac that I couldn't identify, but I thoroughly enjoyed all of it. We were both pretty full, but it's hard to pass up dessert at a place like this. I would have eaten any of their dessert options, but we ended up with the Bourbon Pecan Fried Pie, which comes a la mode. How could that be bad? This pie was packed full of crunchy pecans. The pie spice added a very enjoyable flavor to things. Even just the plain pie crust was delicious. They were a little heavy-handed with the simple syrup, but it was still very tasty. The accompanying homemade vanilla ice cream was the perfect pairing to this dessert. Neighborhood Services made this Valentine's Day extra special. Everything we ate there was amazing, and I sincerely hope I get the chance to go back. Read my other reviews, complete with pictures: Search "The Barbecue Fiend"

This was our first visit to Neighborhood Services but certainly won't be our last. The place is small/cozy and intimate but not stuffy. The staff and our server were friendly, personable and attentive. We began with a red wine from the nice wine list and two appetizers, the fried little asparagus and butchers meatballs (served with an awesome peppercorn sauce). Both lived up to the hype! My son and his wife (who are regulars) advised us of their entree favorites. My daughter in law and I had the London broil steak frites which was accompanied with the delicious voodoo peppercorn sauce. The steak was grilled to perfection. My husband had Hard Cider Brined Pork Chop and our son had the Angry Lobster & Grits. Both were awesome. We shared sides of garlicky spinach (awesome) and the sinfully decadent three jack mac and cheese. This is a very popular restaurant. Reservations are definitely recommended.

Recently I had the pleasure of enjoying Neighborhood Services at Village on the Parkway(5100 Beltline Rd., 795). American cuisine. No complaints here. I had grilled avocado with tomato based bruschetta topping. Absolutely delicious and scallops, very, very good. The restaurant seemed to be filled with locals which is always a GOOD recommendation. I liked the atmosphere, kind of like a neighborhood club. Be prepared to wait for seating unless you make a reservation. It is well worth waiting! I will definitely enjoy this restaurant again on my next visit to Dallas.

My steak was cooked just the way I ordered. The steak was tender , juicy and melt in your mouth. The special that day was sole fish and it was cooked to perfection. The Caesar salad was so large I shared it with my wife. The Caesar dressing is made on premise with a unique tang that was wonderful. We were too stuffed to go for the desserts.

Went to Lovers Lane tonight. Food and service was good (not great). Ordered a nice red wine and bottle came out at probably 45 to 50 degrees COLD. The check came and seemed little high. I reviewed and they had charged me for THREE different appetizers I did not order. After apology my manager, I left and valet had changed several different settings on my car. Never back to Neighborhood Services again.

I have heard a lot about this restaurant and it lived up to all the talk. The meatball appetizers were unbelievable! I had one of the fish specials and it was a bbqued Mahi Mahi on grits. This was an excellent dish but I soon had a case of the jealous dish when I saw the veal Schnitzel that my friends ordered. Then one of the others in our party ordered the, listen to this description. "The truckstop steak" or something like that. This was a tenderloin chicken fried steak style. it was huge and awesome. OK so the food was great, it is one of the hot places in Dallas to eat and they had some Orin Swift wines to top it off. Make the effort to visit this restaurant it is well worth the reservations.

This spot is so good!!! Amazing service and great staff. Get the meatballs as an appetizer. Reasonably priced as well. Must go to in BIG D!

This is a well overdue review. A friend treated me to dinner while visiting Dallas late November and I must say….Wow!. This place is absolutely fabulous! From the warm and friendly service to the amazing dinner options, this eatery is an absolute must when in Dallas. The design of the restaurant is very nice, intimate and the energy of the room only adds to the wonderful experience. I remember our server was named Brandon, who was fantastic…. I look forward to my next visit whenever travels bring me back to Dallas!

This was our anniversary dinner; which we had planned to go here on a Saturday night, but moved to Monday due to a scheduling conflict. Best accident ever. This is a small restaurant tucked onto Lovers; blink and you'll miss it. There was not a bad bite all night - deviled eggs, flatbread, mussels - lots of thick bacon in the dishes (but bacon is magical, so who cares). My husband's T-bone was one of the best steaks we'd ever had. My pork chop and the little mac and cheese that came with it were divine. Our waiter was awesome! Liked to talk about the food, happy to talk about the menu and options and drinks. Just great! And he works the bar 2 days a week, so we'll have to go back and check him out. For dessert I had an upscale ding-dong and he had the butterscotch pot-du-creme - not to be missed.
Birthday celebration = perfection!
We visited Neighborhood Services on a very busy Saturday night to celebrate our son's 22nd birthday - reservation was a snap. We only weighted about "one drink" (15 minutes or so!) before our table was ready. Great big booth fit all six of us. We had a fantastic server whose name escapes me - but if she reads this, we thought you were fabulous (cute glasses, brown hair, great personality). We were dining on the late side so unfortunately, many of the specials were already sold out - but no worries, what we did choose from the menu was wonderful. I had the pork chop which was thick, juicy and everything I'd hoped for. The grits on the side didn't disappoint either - cheesy and gooey - yum! Others at our table enjoyed the scallops and the house burger which was so tall and juicy! Not that we had much room for dessert, but the table shared one pot-de-crème which our fab server brought out with a candle (and we didn't even ask!) We were visiting from Connecticut, so no clue when we'll be back, but if you're in Dallas any time soon...get in there! (and oh! they have one of my favorite California wines by the glass - Longmeadow Ranch - glug, glug....!)
