Hey! I mostly ignore 1s and 5s so that's one reason I'm giving a 2. Service was slow, food cold, and it was not busy (at 1pm.) The celebrity angle might keep it here for a while more than it deserves to be. Give it a miss. Not Vegas quality, but Vegas pricey. Biscuits basket came with honey cinnamon butter, honestly good, but not enough to get us back

We checked into the Signature by MGM after a long drive and decided to go to the MGM Grand for dinner. Nellie's seemed to lure us in because of the atmosphere and the setting/decor, so in we went. There were seats at the bar, which we happily took. The very friendly bat tender concocted a cocktail for my wife - Rum, Ginger Beer ("Q") and Pineapple. I took a HUGE IPA on draft. We then went for the Free Bird chicken sandwich (Yummy!!) and I took the Fried Catfish which was excellent. We then shared a Cookie Skillet for dessert (Delicious!!) and retired to our room happy and ready for bed. Lovely Place!! Great Atmosphere and Food!!

First time going to Nellie's at MGM Grand. This restaurant, we found out, is owned by the family of the Jonas Brothers. Overall we thought the food and service were both fantastic. The chicken and waffles dinner in particular was very tasty. Would've probably given this a 5 star but we felt it was a bit too pricey overall. Nice dinner in Vegas if you are looking for southern comfort food.

Wondered through the MGM and my wife and I decided on an early dinner. My wife is gluten and dairy free so finding a restaurant is difficult. The two hostesses out front were very nice and allowed us to review the menu. The atmosphere is very nice. Prices were high but it’s a new restaurant inside MGM Grand, I expect them to be. Our waiter was Andy and he was very nice, attentive, and assisted my wife with her selection of an entree. There were several gluten free options clearly identified on the menu and Andy helped with the dairy free part. She selected the Grilled Shrimp Plate. There were at least 8 shrimp and nice helping of grilled zucchini and summer squash on the plate. My wife really enjoyed her meal. I ordered the country fried steak with mashed and country gravy. I read the previous comment about too much breading but I thought it was just perfect. The country gravy was delicious! My only disappointment was that they were out of collard greens. The bill came to $72 with the tip with no drinks. A little pricey but it on the strip in Vegas.

Not a fan, sorry! Had chicken & waffles, chicken was very dry, waffle good, then we tried what was suppose to be peach cobbler and it was peach crumble, cobbler has crust, this did not!

The ambiance is beautiful. The food was just ok but the service was absolutely awful. The restaurant was not particularly busy on the night that we went for my birthday dinner but the server took a very long time to come over to our table to take drink orders. He got one of our orders wrong for a party of six and she had to sit and wait until her food came out (the food had already taken a very long time for him to bring out the wrong item initially) We ordered a salad and asked for the bacon on the side which he gave an upcharge for even though the bacon was included on the salad already. It was very slow and very disappointing and overall not worth the wait at all. If you order the fried chicken they bring out an additional piece. Only two of our guests ordered the fried chicken and he brought out an additional piece to one (without asking her what piece she preferred) and didn't even make the offer to the other person who ordered it. He was a consistently sucky server. The greens were sweet. The chicken lacked flavor.

I ordered the fried chicken, mac & cheese and greens. My husband ordered the fried catfish. Food was Excellent. The ambience was nice. We will definitely come back here. Also our waiter Roberto was nice.

Went to this restaurant with high hope as I enjoy eating Southern food. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the food. I ordered Grilled Cajun shrimp which was so salty also my friend ordered the Fried Catfish which is over cooked and drenched with so much batter that you can’t even taste the fish. I will not go back or would recommend this place to anyone. Also if you want a private conversation or you are on a date, I would not suggest you go to this place as it is so loud . They have a live person singing as this restaurant is owned by the Jonas Brothers

Located in MGM serving very good American food. I sat at the bar but there are plenty of tables and the setting is nice. It has a good menu so should be something for everyone. I had the meatloaf, mash and green beans which was delicious. Prices are reasonable for Las Vegas and the service is also very good. I would eat here again.

Menu looks pretty good. Biscuits were burnt and weird over $30 for chicken strips and fries that were ok at best. Service and service personnel were not good and seemed over worked and unprofessional.

Service was incredible and the food was extremely delicious and reasonably priced. They were very accommodating to gluten free needs. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Our waiter was exceptional. We will be back.

This food was AMAZING! We just had to meet Chef Mario who pumped out this good food and he was so nice and let us take a picture with him. Everything we ate was a 10 out of 10. The shrimp and grits had Fresh jumbo shrimp and not those little farm raised things. How did we know? We surely asked and we tasted the fresh on it. The Egg rolls were soo good (Sauce was good and spicy but i like spicy so if you don’t then they are still awesome plain) Juicy Chicken Salad Sandwich had pulled seasoned chicken and not the mutilated stuff and the Okra had a perfect crispy breading on it like Jesus himself had his hands on it. All delicious!! Go Chef Mario!

Amazing delicious southern cooking found here! Their chicken and waffles and fried green tomatoes hit the spot with incredible flavors. For desert, you won’t want to miss out on their seasonal cobbler, I promise you won’t regret it. The cobbler we had was the Peach! Apart from the food, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere has a relaxing dim lighting that is perfect for a relaxing meal while enjoying music.

We’ve visited the restaurant a couple of times. It’s always been good. The food is a bit pricy for quite simple to make food. But it’s in the middle of vegas so we expect the price tag. I had the meatloaf which was nice. There was some entertainment in the form of a young lad singing, no one really paid much attention to him which was a shame. I felt like I had to clap after every song to make up for the lack of interest from the other diners. All in all… a good meal!

Great service, awesome live music, biscuits to die for and the best Salmon I've had in a long time! My husband had the fried chicken and it was AMAZING!!!! Don't pass this place up, it is quality yummy all the way around!!!

Definitely an interesting decor! We went for an early dinner. I had the southern fried chicken, another had southern fried steak, and catfish special. All were tasty and served timely. We shared their signature dessert the Banana pudding, delicious, great flavor made with real bananas. Should have got my own lol. It’s conveniently located in MGM Grand!!!

We ate for a business dinner at 7pm. Had big screens for Monday night football. Noise level was good to have business discussion. Staff was very attentive did a nice job. Food was good. The ability to get southern tastes in Vegas is a niche. I would say it was a little pricey for food but then again everything is pricy today.

This restaurant is AMAZING!!! Food was excellent and service was STELLAR!!! You can also make a reservation on the Open Table to make a reservation. Definitely coming back!!!

Glad we found out about this place. We made reservations and was seated right away. Our waitress Dana was awesome! Clean and elegant. My husband enjoyed his fried chicken dinner (4 pieces of chicken and 2 sides). I had the pinto beans w/ shredded pork on top appetizer for my meal. Food came out at a good time and hot. I have no complaints. Overall a great experience.

We happened to be passing and could see the restaurant was lively and busy but we just wanted a quick bite. They sat at us a table for two (opposite each other) but we couldn't hear each other as it was so very loud, so my partner squished up next to me on the bench seat side by side at the tiny table. Our server was very pleasant but we had to shout our orders. He recommend their special which was a Southern fried chicken dish. The food arrived promptly but the coating on the chicken was very average and the sides were small and bland. It was all in all very expensive for what I would say was 'cheap eats'. That evening we were both ill in the night which we put down to there must have been MSG in the cuisine which was unexpected food of this type.

My wife and I found this place great. If you are looking for excellent Southern Style food in Vegas, this is the place. Andy, Alex, and his crew were amazing at caring for 250 close friends. The fried chicken was the bomb. Plus, Plus, Plus. What a great night with great food and drinks. We went back a couple of days later for dinner. Chicken and Dumplings were so good. Don and Yvonne Varney

Rude arrogant guy at check in. Table 25 minutes late.. He said his manager told him to hold. Many empty tables. We arrived at 7:40. Bar lady a1

The portions are large and prices are high so consider sharing. The food was solid but too rich for me. I had the shrimp and grits which I could have shared with 2-3 people. Loved the expresso martini. The location is waaaay in the back of MGM. The atmosphere is confusing and felt like a school cafeteria.

Dined at Nellie’s before a concert at the MGM Arena. Nellie’s is conveniently located outside the Arena. Living in Ontario Canada, we don’t have options for good southern cooking. I had fried okra and southern rolls. Both were delicious!! I was solo so sat at the bar. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Looking forward to dining at Nellie’s again on my next trip in December.

Did happy hour and it is 100% how I think American food should be. Also healthy options and a nice pleasant experience. Loving the decor too!

I booked dinner here before a show, and was on the lookout for a menu that my semi-picky 13 year old would have options at, and Nellie’s did not disappoint! We had the biscuits for appetizer which were a little different than biscuits we are accustomed to but were still good. We had the fried chicken (4 pieces!) and chicken fried steak, and both were good. Sides that we had were mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, and fried okra, all good. Service was attentive and fast with drink refills, but we experienced one weird thing in that our waiter (male) touched both my shoulder (woman) and the shoulder of my 13 year old daughter! Was brief, but weird and inappropriate! When is it appropriate for a waiter to touch patrons?? Particularly a grown, 50-ish male touching a 13 year old girl!! If not for that, I would probably rate a 5.

We are so happy that we decided to eat here. Leo was a wonderful, knowledgeable server. He made our experience so memorable and special. The food was great too! There are lots of recommendations, just ask Leo aka Leonardo.

After looking at so many options for dinner, we chose Nellie's. We were not disappointed. I had the chicken over mashed potatoes with drunken collard greens. My husband had catfish with fries and cole slaw. He thought the breading was a bit heavy but enjoyed the meal.

I was happy with this choice. As there were just two of us, we got a couple spots at the bar and had dinner there. Service was great - food and drink came out very quickly. We were in a bit of a rush so we did have time for appies- just a couple beers and the short rib main for me. Really nice, no concerns.

Saul was our waiter. What a great guy! Friendly, helpful, talkative, wonderful person! Definitely would rate him a 10 plus. Food was excellent. We both had their shrimp and grits. YUMMY! Affordable as well. I would go back here if we ever come back to the MGM!

Stopped in to watch the rodeo on their huge TV screen. Very nice place with a good wine, beer, mixed list. Did not eat here, but will on next trip. staff was excellent. Server Eric was above and beyond. They are closed now for a couple of weeks till New Years for a little vacation, but then back running again.

Stopped in on a very busy Saturday, but we were seated promptly by the hostess. Our waitress came over and took our drink orders from the bar and brought them out quickly. We had the biscuit bucket appetizer which was very good. I had the chicken and dumplings and my wife had the pulled pork plate. The food was very good and came in large portions. The wait staff was friendly and very curious. I recommend trying it out, nothing but praise for this new place.

This just opened in MGM Grand . Beautifully decorated, our waitress was awesome and gave us the restaurant’s history , the chef even came out and spoke to us. We’re from Louisiana so we know good food !!!! The best southern cooking in Las Vegas!!!

Surprised to find a southern style restaurant in Vegas! We’re from the south and weren’t disappointed in the fine southern meal! The fried chicken was absolutely delicious! The breading was so good and although fried, it wasn’t greasy. We also tried the basket of biscuits. Although different from southern style they were delicious. Served with a tasty butter. We also tried the mac & cheese and the greens. Both were very good and all the food portions were definitely large enough to share! Our server, Vargas was excellent.

We dined here before a show and had a great experience. Leo, our server, was very friendly, attentive, and just fun to talk with. We ordered the collard and artichoke dip and the biscuits and gravy to start. Wow!! The b&g blew this southern gal away!! Very good! The collard and artichoke dip was also very good and flavorful. We decided to split an entree after filling up on appetizers and cocktails (excellent) and we ordered the braised short ribs. The flavor was great but it was a little on the dry side. The mashed potatoes were very good and overall, the flavor made up for the dryness of the ribs. It’s a fun and friendly environment serving good southern comfort food. We will be back!!

Dined with 8 friends and while the server was friendly it did take quite some time to order food or drinks. Even when it came time to get further drinks we had to go looking for someone to actually take our order. Quite a few of the drinks we ordered were out of stock which was frustrating especially as they put them on the bill but the barman kept coming over and offering alternatives. Food was average and not as good as you would expect for an MGM outlet. It was more Denys with MGM prices. We probably won’t eat there again

#lasvegas ... I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Nellie's Southern Kitchen. Atmosphere was interesting and vibrant, with inviting and cozy farmhouse décor. Special shout outs to Stephanie, Fonzie and Fatah for friendly, efficient, attentive service. Extra special shout out to the porter Leonard, for going above and beyond in finding my reading glasses. Live entertainment was wonderful, Dru Limas, in a living room like setting. This NOLA lady living in Vegas will be back. Highly recommend.

This isn’t granny’s cooking. We had the chicken n gravy with collared greens. The entree seemed like it came straight out of a bag…not cooked fresh. The greens weren’t bad…they weren’t good, either. The meal was fairly expensive for what we received. And, I felt ill after eating. Save your money.

The fried green tomatoes, the fried chicken , and the country fried steak were all fabulous. The servers were all attentive and kind.

Had my mind set on chicken fried steak and Nellie's did not disappoint. It was so good and quite the helping. The country gravy was like what you get with biscuits and gravy. The chicken fried steak was crisp on the outside but tender on the inside. Can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes 👍

Service was good. Food was just ok. I ordered the catfish. We were a group of six. Five of the six of us thought the food was just fair. One thought it was pretty good.

Went here for lunch with 6 people while attending an event at the MGM. Service was ok, menu was good, we tried the catish (good but very salty), the meatloaf (just OK), and the chicken and waffles (the best one). Prices are not cheap ($32 for chicken and waffles) so bring your wallet.

The restaurant is beautifully appointed. The staff/service were exceptionally nice, and the food was fresh. The fried okra and catfish were very tasty. We were too full to enjoy dessert.

Had dinner here over July 4th weekend. Our reservation was at 9pm and we were seated promptly in a fairly empty restaurant. I ordered fried chicken which came with mac and cheese and I subbed cole slaw for the greens. My husband ordered the chicken and dumplings. The food was delicious and service was excellent. I’d highly recommend if you’re in Vegas looking for some southern food.

Excellent food, plenty of it and our waiter Leo made our visit even better. Excellent service and I would recommend it if you are staying in The MGM Grand

My partner and I visited Nellie’s this evening for dinner, we hadn’t reserved but the staff were great and managed to squeeze us in. Leonardo, our server was amazing, checked on us regularly and made some funny jokes keeping the mood fun and light. The food was very nice and I could have no complaints about anything but the price, 1 starter and 2 entrees set us back over $140+ (to be expected however as this is Las Vegas).

Stopped in at Nellie's while in town for a conference earlier this year. Even with a reservation, the hostess seemed to not understand the concept - seating others that came in after me first. The environment was rather loud, due to sports on a large projection screen and a rowdy table next to me. I asked to move a couple of tables down and was told I couldn't (even though the place looked about 50% empty). A server was hard to find, even though the place wasn't busy. I ordered and that was the last I saw of them - didn't even get a refill on my ice tea. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was not a very good representation of Southern fare. (I have family and friends all over the South and have had excellent meals all over the region.) The pork was dry and chewy., but not in the way you want. And the BBQ sauce so drowned the sandwich that the bun disintegrated in a few short minutes. That made this a messy fork-and-knife meal. So for poor service, poor environment, and below average food, I give Nellie's 1 star. Oh, and it's expensive to boot - make that One-Half Star. I won't be back and recommend you find somewhere else for lunch or dinner while in Vegas.

Walked up to host stand and greeted with 3 smiles. I asked to place a takeout order and was escorted professionally to the bar, where I was greeted with more smiles. Ordered some to-go food and was told 10-12 minutes, which was accurate. Bartender asked if I wanted anything while I waited- which I declined. He kindly brought me some ice water anyways as it was about 106 outside. Food came out promptly and cooked perfectly. Delicious. Next time in town we will certainly dine in. Thanks!

We had lunch at Nelly Southern kitchen on November 14, 2024 I ordered Chicken and waffles. The restaurant was quite empty when we came in at 12 o’clock however, our food took over a half an hour. The chicken and waffles were horrible. It came with one chicken tender and heavy almost wheat like waffle. The small piece of chicken was ok and the one strawberry that was cutting into pieces. I was so disappointed that I spent $35 for a chicken tenders and a waffle that tastes terrible. I informed the waitress that the waffle wasn’t good, but she just kind of ignored what I said. We met a couple in the elevator that had eaten at Nelly’s the day before and said that they got sick after eating the meatloaf. You are definitely paying for the location and not the food when you go to Nelly’s.

Popped in for a late lunch on a monday. Sat at the bar and ordered a beer and Carolina Burger, which had chili, cheese, onions and jalapeños. With a side of mashed potato. Fabulous. Perfectly cooked and great mash. Great ambience and excellent bar service. Looks a great space for sport too.

I stopped in here on a break from a Convention that was held at the MGM. I sat at the bar thinking it would be quicker, the bartender/server was very prompt and had a great attitude. The food was very good and quick as well as recieving my bill and getting it paid as she seemed to know I was trying to get in and out as quickly as possible to return to the Convention i was attending. I returned the following evening to get a beverage and I ended up with the same bartender/server, she rembered everything we had chatted about the day before including that I liked Espresso Martini's. She made a great martini and again the customer service was exemplary.

My lunch was quite tasty, although there was a little too much breading on my chicken-fried steak. Portions were generous and the service excellent, however.

To ensure my lunch plans in Las Vegas went smoothly, I made a reservation for a table on a Thursday morning. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, I found myself waiting to be seated for about 8-10 minutes, despite there being no one else in line. I couldn't help but wonder if I had become invisible. Finally, I was shown to a seat near the bar. Unfortunately, my wait continued for another 15+ minutes, making me question my invisibility once again. Surprisingly, there were only a few customers in the restaurant at that time. After the long wait, I decided to order the fried chicken entree, which happens to be one of my favorite dishes. Given that fried chicken generally takes longer to cook, I expected a bit of a wait. When it finally arrived, I was disappointed to discover that the flavor didn't meet my expectations. The chicken had a finer, grainer texture that reminded me of Shake 'n Bake or catfish coating. Although the mac and cheese accompanying the dish was decent, I still couldn't bring myself to finish it. Considering the amount I paid for this fried chicken dinner, I had hoped it would be the best I've ever tasted, but it fell far short of that. However, the redeeming aspects of the experience were the people and the ambiance. Despite the lengthy wait to be seated and served, the staff remained pleasant throughout. The restaurant itself boasted a chic and well-designed atmosphere, adding to the overall positive impression despite the disappointing food.

Had a lovely lunch, the portions were huge and the food was very tasty. The staff were very pleasant, the restaurant had a nice atmosphere

Friendly, accommodating staff, who dealt with lukewarm chicken efficiently and apologetically. Very average food. Tasteless Southern Chicken which is disappointing given they are a Southern kitchen. Portions unnecessarily big. Would have preferred 60% of the food quantity, lower price to reflect and therefore no food wastage.

I tried this place twice! The food is made from good southern recipes. I had meals here with a few people and tried several dishes Catfish =+A Greta southern crisp batter with great flavor Collards+A a hint of sweetness with great souther flavor Chicken fried Steak=+B a Lilly’s too much breading makes for the B rating Chicken Tenders+A. Just done right Cobb Salad= +A So why the three stars… well service can be incredibly slow! First time around our order was messed up. One person in our party got his meal well after everyone else was finished eating ( the restaurant comped the meal which was great) The second time around we sat at the bar. Service was a + C! We were not acknowledged for 15 count ‘‘em minutes. There is a big guy working the bar who’s personality reminds me of Lurch from the Addams Family… never even said hello to us ( perfect dude to working at a funeral home). I would give 4 stars if the service was better! The Verdict… I would eat here again if I have plenty of time and I recommend this place for good southern flavor!

My husband and I made the last minute decision to have dinner here while we were staying at MGM Grand and we were not disappointed! Our waitress, Tori, was so kind and attentive. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was exceptional. I ordered the meatloaf which had the most delicious brown gravy. My husband got a burger with a side of mac and cheese. It was a bit pricey but it really was so tasty! Think I found my new favorite!

Compared to other dining choices in Vegas that offer food that isn't fast food and is freshly prepared, this food is inexpensive. You cannot compare something like brick chicken to chicken tenders made from a bag and fried in a fryer. I had the brick chicken with French carrots, and it was out of this world. My husband had the burger, and it was a real hamburger, again, not something that is peeled off a piece of wax paper and cooked. Everything was freshly prepared. They also offer a nice selection of cocktails. I also like the ambience of this place. The paintings on the wall were beautiful. The place had a lovely ambience, and the service was fantastic too. I am so glad we went there; can't wait to return. It felt real and didn't try to be something it wasn't. It was a nice break from the fakeness of some of the other places to eat in Vegas. They can also accommodate GF.

A hidden gem!!! I visit Vegas often and never knew of this wonderful place. The food is exceptional, the restaurant is clean, not cluttered. The bar area is brilliantly designed and the restrooms are clean. The ambiance of an establishment is just as important as the food. The staff were professional and kind, food came out promptly and was absolutely delicious. Look forward to returning again!

The meatloaf was superb! The ambiance was awesome with big screen televisions to watch the football game while enjoying dinner. The southern egg rolls were good as well and the biscuits with jam was amazing. I must say that we can’t wait to return.

If you’re from the south, you know good down home cooking and this ain’t it. I’m not saying it wasn’t good, but it wasn’t great. I’ve had both chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits dishes in Deep South restaurants (i.e. New Orleans) that were way better. And I heard a lady from LA sitting at a table nearby say that even Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles in LA was better than here. All to say that if you want a real taste of great Southern cooking, you won’t find it here. My wife said the corn muffins were even that good-and she’s from Nawlins!

Great service! Food was OK. Chicken prepared well and quite juicy. Not a fan of the breading. Waffles were superb. Chicken sandwich a bit soggy. Quite pricy for what you get.

I love Southern food, so I had to try Nellie's, especially since I was staying at the MGM. Nellie's was started in Belmont, NC by the father of musicians the Jonas Brothers as an ode to his grandmother Nellie. The Vegas location is almost 3 years old. It's located right by the Monorail station at MGM. It's a fairly large restaurant with a large bar and live entertainment. They used to serve lunch and brunch but now just offer dinner. The menu is full of Southern staples at elevated Las Vegas Strip prices. If they're on the menu, I always order fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits. Nellie's had both. The tomatoes ($23) were decent, supposedly crusted with pecans, but it seemed like a regular breading to me. They came drizzled with a roasted red pepper sauce with some greens and pickled onions and ranch dipping sauce. I also ordered one of their specialties, a Southern Roll, which is a fried egg roll stuffed with BBQ chicken, mac and cheese, bacon and drunken collards, served with a sweet chili sauce and the same greens and pickled onions. It was fine, but cost $17 for one. And the dipping sauces both came in those little plastic cups meant for take-out, which cheapened both dishes. The shrimp and grits ($37) were a bit non-traditional in that the grits were not creamy, but rather fried triangular cakes akin to polenta. They may have been crisp at one point, but not when served. The 5 blackened shrimp were tasty, as was the Cajun cream sauce. The menu mentioned a pico de gallo topping, but that was non-existent. I also got a trio of sides for $28. I chose the fried okra, drunken collard greens and mac and cheese. All were good, but the ranch dipping sauce served with the okra again was in a plastic cup. For dessert, I ordered the seasonal cobbler ($15), which was peach, served with vanilla ice cream. The peaches were canned, but the topping was tasty. Although Nellie's has a full bar and cocktail menu, they do not offer any mocktails, so I made do with iced tea. A pleasant but pricy-ish meal. I would return to try their fried chicken, fried catfish or country fried steak.

My wife and had early dinner here before a show. She ordered chicken and waffles and thought it was fine but very expensive. I had fried chicken. Two pieces were okay, but not in any way remarkable, and one not cooked enough. The mac and cheese was pasty. I mentioned undercooked chicken to waitress and she very kindly didn’t charge me for my meal. Bottom line food not worth going back for especially given high price.

Very pretty atmosphere and delicious food. I got the biscuits, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and the Whoa Nellie cocktail -- all were excellent. Would definitely visit again. Our waiter, Leo, was awesome and the man filling drinks and taking plates was a pleasure, as well.

I've been living in Vegas for quite a while in Airbnb and this is my local. Always good fun. Staff excellent and great food. Always have my Guinness ready. Well located in MGM GRAND. Close to strip.

My family of three generations ate here for dinner our first night in Vegas. It fit my family perfectly. I got the chicken and dumplings and the portion was enormous! The staff was very friendly, and the price wasn't too bad considering it is Vegas. We'd eat here again.

We were with a work group of 12 people. A few people ordered the meatloaf and were very happy. The serving was very large and it had some spice to it that made it a little different in a good way. The grilled shrimp dinner was generous (12) and flavorful though maybe a little salty. Grilled vegetables were fresh and were tasty (very buttery). We had appetizers of biscuits and fried green tomatoes. Both were a hit with our group. The Hawg Hill Plate (bbq) received high marks as did the fried chicken. The collard greens were a bit sweet and were sent back for green beans. The banana pudding was noted as good but lacking on the amount of cookies. Another note on dessert was that members wanted peach cobbler but when given a description of the cobbler we learned it was a skillet of peaches topped with ice cream and sprinkles of what would/should have been the crust. How is that cobbler? We decided against that. Our server was excellent. She was very friendly, efficient and full of smiles. All in all we had an enjoyable dinner though the prices were a bit higher than I would have liked but then every place in Las Vegas on the strip seems to be over priced these days.

This is the 3rd time in 3 years my wife & I have come here for dinner on our trip to Las Vegas. The food is consistently good & the portions are extremely generous. The only negative is that the prices are a little steep. But unfortunately this is a sign of the times in Las Vegas.

This was a disappointment. I thought I could get a reasonably priced basic, familiar meal, but the food was mediocre. The chicken fried steak was covered in thick dark brown batter that crinkled (like broken bits of glass) -- not like I've always had it before at many places. The meat was very thin and full of lines of fat, and I had to chew and chew... Most dishes seemed to be around $30. The size of the portions were small, not like you'd expect in a southern homey restaurant. It's a pretty modern looking place; no "southern" feel; almost monotone. The tv screens seemed out of place. It has some bench seating and chairs. It opened to the strip mall's walkway and the noise carried through the rooms. There was a big stage taking up a good part of the room, where music is performed sometimes. And a big bar to the side. The after dinner drinks were good.

Authentic, delicious, traditional southern food but elevated to the next level (without losing the southern charm). We had the shrimp and grits (creamy and smokey- delish) and the southern fried chicken (seasoned beautifully, super crispy outside, super moist inside). On another occasion I got the fried catfish and it was the best I’ve ever had (even after living for years in TN). Our waiter was friendly and hilarious without being cringy. And for the portions and quality, the prices are very reasonable! Git some, y’all!

As a 40.00 meal it would be great but 105.00. Never again. Clean and great server, ambiance was more family restaurant than anything. It was eh.

we ate here approximately 2.5 weeks after they opened. I had the appetizer chicken fingers, and they were so huge that I couldn't finish them! The batter was light and crispy, so the meal consisted of all chicken! My husband had the catfish (we are from Canada and this is not something we can get here) and it was great. The fries were very delicious and the catfish was lightly coated - no overwhelming batter. The drinks were well priced and I was surprised how small our bill was considering the amount of food we were served. I would go back in a heartbeat! Only thing we found out after the fact was that we charged the meal to our room but it did not go through as I believe the restaurant wasn't exactly set up with the MGM system yet. its way at the back of the hotel - almost near the entrance to the monorail, but worth the walk. The service was great!

We hit up Nellie’s every time we come to Vegas. A hidden gem. The food is excellent. There isn’t anything on the menu you would not love. I highly recommend.

This place was a 10/10. the service was amazing and the food was Excellent!!! will return to this restaurant if I ever visit vegas again.

I had heard amazing things about the original location in Belmont, NC and was looking forward to finally visiting their new location in Las Vegas. My experience went way above my expectations! Upon entering, you are welcomed by charming decor and a friendly environment. The staff was welcoming and very responsive. We started the meal off with the Mac and cheese eggrolls and my life was changed. I wish I could eat these every day for the rest of my life. I got the salmon as my main course and it was cooked to perfection. Mouth watering and tender. We ended the meal with banana pudding and I think I shed tears when I took my first bite. IT WAS SO GOOD!! Plus, a few villa one signature cocktails and I was feeling great. I can’t recommend Nellie’s enough!! It’s a must visit, especially if you’re staying at the MGM Grand!

It’s ok at best on our dinner before the show. Waited at the host station for close to ten minutes before seeing anyone. Well then we were taken to our seat to wait it out after that moment. Only to feel abandoned again. The water person was on point, best MVP employee there for us. Waiter finally made it to table for what felt like a high pressure sale from him at that point. All the food we had was very uneventful. We came here after hearing mixed reviews so, shame on us. Food was plain not bad just extra middle of road.

My girlfriend and I celebrated her 50th birthday in Vegas. Wanted somewhere special to go so we came here. Prices are not high however not for the budgeting wallet. Both our meals with 1 cocktail and 1 Ice teas was over 130 dollars. We arrived during the end of a game so it was a little bit noisy for a Thursday in my opinion. My chicken was delicious the greens would’ve been better hot temperature wise. The Mac and cheese was decent. Overall the ambiance and atmosphere was amazing and us celebrating was worth the trip.

They serve some of the best chicken I have tasted. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. The Mac n Cheese is so cheesy and delicious. The decor is beautiful with magnificent owl artwork and beautiful lighting. But what is really special about this place is the excellent service we received from Leo. He was welcoming and funny and has the ability to make your dining experience one to remember.

We loved everything about this restaurant. The service was great and the food we ordered was both plentiful and delicious. We opted for the fried chicken and dumplings. The Mac n cheese was a fantastic side dish. Prices were very reasonable too. Would definitely return.

Beautiful dinning. The food was wonderfully tasty. Great service and the staff are lovely 😍 We had a few drinks while waiting for our food and they were so yummy 😋

Food was average for a southern style restaurant. All the hype is because of the owners being Jonas brothers family. The place was vey clean and has nightly live music.

We had planned to go to Nelly's while in Vegas and could not be more excited. It was awful. The decor is Southern very understated sort of chic. It was like the designers forgot they were in Vegas. We had the Southern egg rolls which were overcooked and hard. The meatloaf which was quite good. The chicken salad sandwich was just bland and lacked the depth of flavor it so easily could have had. The pimento bacon burger was a hit but the star of the whole meal was the biscuits. Sort of cornbread in texture and very flavorful. The service was terrible. If you are a Jonas fan there is a half small wall of memorabilia. Needless to say it was a lot of money and I would not recommend it or go again. We expected so much more and left disappointed. Southern Rolls with the sauce
Talk about feeling welcomed. The hostess, standing outside was awesome. We asked to review the menu before going in and when we asked her of she had menu favorites, she delivered. What got us in the door was the live music and the hostess. Loved the live music and karaoke setup (its so much talent in the world). Food - We ordered the Espresso Martini (tasty), Molasses glazed salmon and southern rolls (stuffed with greens, creamy mac and chicken). The Espresso Martini was at the best price for Vegas. The molasses glazed salmon served with roasted potatoes and green beans were mouth watering for a gal with braces. Everything was tender. The salmon was made medium and the green beans were fresh and soft (not over salted). The southern rolls are a must try. Tbh, the sauce is what really took this dish over the top. The setting - we sat the bar (something different for us). The bartender was very helpful and gave great service. All of the staff are pleasant. While dining there was live music/karaoke. That was fun to watch. Many of the ppl had incredible lungs and changed some of the songs to fit them. You can eat here with family, friends, co-workers. Overall, I would eat here again.
