Very very good!!

By Edan B |

We ate at this restaurant 3 times in 3 days while we stayed in San Francisco. First of all, we really enjoyed the food! Great quality and fair prices. Also the service was very good and we got the food right away. Second of all, during our stay in the city, our luggage was stolen. The manager in the restaurant heard the story and did not let us pay for the meal. My sincere recommendation for you to check out the restaurant!!!

Great local cafe

This is a very basic restaurant, but the staff was super nice, the place very clean and the quality of the ingredients top rate! We had lunch and the burgers were really good. I liked the option of having fruit on the side, and it was real fruit, not some junky canned stuff. My fruit included sliced fresh peach, apple, strawberries and an orange. It was very good! Cash only and it's a tiny restaurant - so be prepared!

Great breakfast

After checking out another local place, we were pleasantly surprised to eat here for breakfast. Food was cooked perfectly and scrambled eggs were warm. On the weekend, most tables were full. They offer breakfast and lunch. I'd definitely go back and recommend this to others.

New Taraval cafe

If you’re ready for a delicious and hearty breakfast, The New Taraval Cafe is the place. Even though small, it makes up in flavor in every one of the dishes and sandwiches being served there. Don’t expect fancyness , just down to earth type of place geared towards very down to earth people with a demanding taste.

Went for breakfast, it looks like an ordinary place but the food is great! Ordered egg ciabatta sandwich and egg Benedict, both were soo good and tasty and the portion is big Very nice experience, service was very good Highly recommended if you are around

Great breakfast and friendly neighborhood fell.

Just what I want in a breakfast on the road. Kid friendly, great breakfast options - good sourdough, wonderful scramble (the California!!) and omelet options. Friendly staff and owner, who recently took over from his parents. It's the kind of business that feeds the community in all kinds of ways. We became regulars during the week we were in town!

The cafe you'd become a regular at

“Off the menu special.” Ooh this was going to be good. Crossing town to take advantage of the rare window of opportunity, I was surprised that we were seated so quickly…especially since I knew the special mushrooms wouldn’t be on the market for long. In so many words, he said “have it your way,” and I giddily listed ingredients I knew would tickle my fancy. When my plate arrived, an awe-stricken wispy “wow” escaped from my lips. I gingerly explored every inch of the dish, starting with the savory. Enchanted by the mix of earth — spinach, parsley, thyme, and more — a single bite of the scramble fulfilled my every need. Thought it was over? Nah. The chanterelle mushrooms pressed against the inside of my cheek as the pecorino cheese cuddled my tongue. It was subtle, sweet, and seductive enough. Finished off with the harmonious juices of seasonal fruit, I considered another, disregarding my need to recover from the food coma I was just delivered into. Freshly foraged mushrooms, you were my first, but hopefully not my last. I could taste the effort in every bite. 💋 Melissa Brown | Fork Me Good

Absolutely delightful breakfast experience

We have been staying at a nearby VRBO facility and decided to try this place for breakfast -- great decision! The owner is super-friendly and accommodating; the quality of the food is excellent; the prices are reasonable (though, be aware that they are "cash only" for payment -- no cards). Both my wife and I really enjoyed our breakfast selections (hers was an omelet; mine was their cinnamon French toast with an ample amount of strawberry and banana pieces). Nothing fancy in terms of decor but who cares if everything else about the place works so well!

Good cheap comfort food...no frills

I lived in this area and wish I had a place like this to go to where I live now! Good food cheap prices decent portions...and no frills..meaning the decor isn't anything fancy or even nice...think old diner... :0).

Sometimes there’s a line but it moves quickly. Food service is friendly and speedy. Quality is top rated. Prices are reasonable. Family owned neighborhood establishment.

Neighborhood Bkft, Lunch Cafe

On the corner with a blue awning, very good location and we were early enough to get street metered parking right away. My party of 4 was welcomed and seated in the back on a table for 6. I don't remember what this establishment was before but the grill is right at the front window, like old pizza palor. There are some 6 booths and this cafe shows some age but homey character. Service was fast and our mugs were always refilled. I had the delicious 3 slices of French toast, 2 links, scrambled eggs w/coffee which was under $7. If in the area, this is a stop for simple breakfast/lunch.

Great breakfast spot

Tiny breakfast/lunch corner cafe. We were greeted the moment we opened the door and made to feel welcome. Food and coffee was delicious, portions were large. This was the most reasonably priced breakfast we had in San Francisco and one of the best. Atmosphere isn't great, but I would definitely return.

Diamond in the rough

From the outside this place is very old and run down, but upon entry you are greeted by the cook (the grill is in the front). The inside looks like it has seen better days, but the friendly staff made up for the lack of ambience. The food was very reasonably priced for San Francisco, the average breakfast was around $9-10. When the food arrived it was hot and delicious, everyone in our party really enjoyed their meal. Nothing fancy here at all but if you want a delicious breakfast at a fair price then this is your place.

Good food for great price

The breakfast at New Taraval cafe is good and the staff is usually friendly and helpful when trying to decide between two dishes.
