Had large pizza and quality was very good -- in addition wide range of beers offered and a fair sized menu. Restaurant sits inside Embassy Suites hotel so many guests use it for lunch and dinner.

My fiancé and I came here for our weekly “pizza night”. We wanted to try somewhere we hadn’t been to. It’s a really easy walk from the Waterfront and close to all the hotels. Had the Supreme Pizza and my fiancé had the fried chicken sandwich and onion rings. Food was good and service was great! Cherry was our server and she was attentive, and super friendly! We shared lots of laughs and had a good time. Thanks for the great service Cherry! :)

burgers were good they were a bit overcooked for my taste even after I asked for medium ... fish tacos were good

The best chicken wings I ever had. They're thick like drumsticks and good quality chicken. The homemade pizza bites and dipping sauces are really good and the pizzas are gourmet quality. Great atmosphere, classy but casual, friendly staff, full bar and awesome selection of beers, and reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back.

After a long day and late return to the Embassy, I grabbed a pizza from NY West to take upto my room. Service was fine, but unfortunately the pizza was average at best. The bar / restaurant lacks any atmosphere too and the place needs a real overhaul.

My wife and I ate here late one evening. The lighting was nice and the menu was tasty. Our waiter was very friendly and explained anything we needed to know.

Unacceptable blatant racism! How dare you allow the ignorant man sitting at the bar to turn around and glare at my children up and down repeatedly and do nothing for simply walking in the door! I asked him why are you staring at us and he refused to turn around. My son asked the manager why are you letting him to do this and he said nothing and did nothing as the man continued to shake his head and look them up and down. Sorry that you are too ignorant to understand that diversity is beautiful and it is here to stay. Stay away from this place if you have any mixed culture in you as they clearly have no idea how to treat anyone but “their own.” Pathetic! We walked out after they chose to continue to allow this to happen. Sad for anyone else who has had to endure this at this establishment.

Nice and friendly staff. Food was very delicious and not over priced. Good selection of beers. Bartender was very attentive and helpful.

The California pizza of the month was fantastic. The pasta was wonderful and portion large. Good drinks, great tiramasu. Service was friendly and prompt. Ate here first night in hotel and would return.

While staying at the Embassy Suite my wife and I (with our 4 kids) decided to do NYW instead of the Cheesecake Factory across the street. This place was very welcoming with great music and offered us a seat right away MC instead of a 45+ min wait. And we were pleasantly surprised! They had a great selection of beer and the pizza was too notch. We ad the empire pizza and it was amazing. We also ordered a full order of spaghetti an meatballs for our older girls (10 x2) and a kids spaghetti for our young boys (2&4) and each was great annnnd we still left with leftovers! If you need a great place to eat and have a lot going on, come to NYW!

Service was great! We were in and out in an hour. Food was good and hot. We will go back again! More of a lunch/ light dinner than a multi layered sit down dinner.

We ate here during our stay at the hotel. We were excited to try the pizza after reading the reviews. We ordered the Kettle Chips and Dip, Big Pretzel, So Cal Caesar Salad, and Classic Cheese Pizza. The homemade ranch kettle chips were very flavorful but we did not care for the caramelized onion dip, it didn’t have much flavor and it was very thick. The pretzel with the beer cheese bisque was amazing! The salad was huge, three of us couldn’t even finish half of it. It had a lot of flavor and was very fresh though. The pizza was just average, we give it a 7 out of 10. You can tell how good a restaurant makes pizza by trying the basic cheese pizza. This one had very little flavor, at least in our opinion. New York West has a nice outdoor area to eat as well as a great inside space. It wasn’t very busy when we were there but the service was a little slow. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. They have a nice beer selection and it’s a fun place to catch a game or grab some refreshments. The food was good but not great, we’ve had better.

The bayside area around the USS Midway can be packed. This nice casual restaurant on the ground floor of the Embassy Suites is a bit under the radar and so is spared the crowds and long waits of many of the other nearby restaurants. You can sit inside or outside and enjoy San Diego's beautiful weather. It's a casual reasonably priced menu, several families with children were there. We started with steak filled onion rings, just because we had never seen them before. Excellent!. Entrees were fresh fish, steak sandwich and hamburger - all good.

Very nice people, dealt well with a horde of (adult) cousins and my bunch of little kids, food was not a bad price for San Diego and everything we tried was delicious. I was especially impressed with how genuinely nice their staff is...and the dessert pizza! The kids really wanted pizza, so they and I had pepperoni pizza. If you are sick to death of pepperoni pizza, order it anyways-- you'll remember why you use to like it. GOOD stuff.

Burger with beef and Italian Sausage. Stopped for a bite in the evening and was surprised by the unusual selection of dishes. The New York West Burger was so fine, as were the fish taco. The Citrus Blonde Ale was very refreshing. Paul was our server. He was pretty great also.

grabbed lunch before leaving town. safe choice. did not disappoint. not expensive. friendly staff. a LOT cheaper than Hyatt, walk across the street!

Looking for some beverages on a rainy night, we stumbled upon a gem in the Embassy Suites San Diego hotel. The staff of Cody and Jenisha immediately greated us and welcomed us to join them. They are very friendly and get to know your preferences. A restaurant/bar wouldn't be anything without great food. We returned twice more as then food was wonderful too. We had the Smash Burger, Pizza, Flat Bread, Fish & Chips and a Fish Taco. All are very tasty though the Fish Taco was my favorite. A generous fillet of fish cooked perfectly with sauce made this dish outstanding. Cody provided many insights into their cocktails and made them perfectly. Jenisha always made sure we were happy. Finally, this place is spotless. Tables are cleaned immediately after the guests depart. If you want a warm inviting location with an awesome staff, stop by New York West. You won't be disappointed.

I was lucky to find fresh opa tacos on the menu. Very small but good. I Also had the meatball. Very big and good.

I came in with my kids and everything was fantastic! The services was amazing. Cherry took great care of us and my kids absolutely LOVED her! We will definitely be back to see her again soon!!

Went here while in town from TX. Heard about the food and it was amazing. Wings to die for and Pizza was insane. Had the Corleone (Cheesesteak) pizza and was to die for and craved for more when it was gone. Ordered the Pepperoni as well and was bomb. Great beer selection as you would expect in SD. The owner stopped by our table and made our day. What a nice guy. Server rocked and made our experience amazing. We will return again when we visit SD again... Thanks NYW Pizza Co

Bring your wallet, CA City. Steak Burgers, Salmon Sandwich, Pizza all good, great service, Jen L worked hard, was great even when we had accidental break, spill. Thank you.

Food was amazing! Super fast service by an awesome server, Cherry! Don't miss this place while visiting San Diego!

We were staying at the Hotel on a rainy day and decided to try the restaurant downstairs. We weren't expecting much but the food was very good. Their NY burger was delightful. Very well cooked, loved the ground beef and italian sausage blend was above par. My wife had the meatball sub and enjoyed it as well. We shared the habanero wings and they were crispy and had a nice kick. Great selection of beers on tap and variety of cocktails. Definitely surpassed expectation of most casual restaurants we have experienced in the Hilton portofolio.

Ate dinner 3 times and happy hour once. Pizza really good, loved the lobster deviled deep fried eggs.

We were staying at the hotel and wanted to have dinner some place close after a long day. We also wanted to watch the San Diego - Michigan NCAA basketball tourney game and the place was billed as a sports bar. We were seated right away and the service was good. My cheese burger was great and I heard no complaints about the salmon. Unfortunately, they claimed they were having trouble with direct TV and couldn't get the basketball game. Bottom line if you're staying at the Embassy Suites (or there about) and have a taste for a good cheese burger, there is no need to go elsewhere.

I had a great bartender. I hate I forget his name. His trade mark would be he has been bar tending for over 20 years. He showed great hospitality to my and my husband when we ordered our pizza. He gave us some great suggestions and we ordered it and was not disappointed. I see they have a large beer selection but we are not beer drinkers. While staying at the hotel, we at there twice. The next night we ordered there seafood special and the fish n chip special. I did not like the seafood pasta special. It was very bland with only 1 shrimp in it. My husband ordered the fish n chip and it was very good. Overall, when visiting CA again. I will be back for the pizza only. We also ordered a side of wings. I was very disappointed that for 6 wings they only serve the leg of wings. I am use to legs and flats for my hot wings.

I ordered a margherita as we all know, it is the most simple pizza out there, just tomato, basil and fresh mozzarella. This one is pure garlic loaded with cherry tomatoes. Despicable to any Italian. The dough was good, but no margherita should be disrespected.

Great place inside the Embassy hotel to eat at and drink a few beers/drinks. Great hand made pizzas and upscale bar food. Service is usually good. Only stays open till 11pm. You can sit inside or outside but right next to road. Do not order the steak though, tough and gristly.

This bar was located in the Embassy Suites building, but not affiliated with the hotel, which where we were staying. The hotel's happy hour was really lame. We love craft beer so we were really happy to have this bar so close. Great beer selection! We had an appetizer that left no impression, because I can't even remember what we had. But the night before we left, I ordered a pizza and it was excellent. I'd highly recommend this spot.

Restaurant inside the Embassy Suites Downtown, not worth writing much about. If you can go elsewhere do. Food is average but high priced. Service is disorganized. The reason why hotel restaurants get a bad rep....

This place is a hidden gem! Very clean, modernish ambience. The brick oven inside looks amazing, but even so I didn't order the pizza.. I ordered a burger and fries and was surprised to find how good it was! The burger was very tall, fresh bun and ingredients, beef done to my liking. The garlic romano fries were hot and fresh, and so plentiful. I wish I would have had time to go back for more meals! The service was great and attentive, and my drink was never empty. Tasty find!

Really great pizza place, and they deliver to the Embassy suites next door. Very friendly staff, and a decent bar scene.

This restaurant is located in the Embassy Suites and we tried it one night and were very pleased. The bruschetta was delicious and the pizza easy.

Did not like the complimentary beer served at the Embassy Suites happy hour so we opted for premium beer NYW instead. Got hungry after the second round and ordered a pizza. It was pretty good too.

Restaurant bar where everyone watches TV! The dishes are far from extraordinary. Food is average. If you want to eat, it’s fine.

Service prompt and food was good. Had Meatball parm that was too much. Wife had triple high Burger that was way too much, but we enjoyed every bite. The BEST French Fries ever. Said they were breaded before cooking...DELICIOUS!

Love the happy hour. I just loooove their truffle garlic parmesan chicken wings and Mama Della Pizza

It tooks us well over 30 minutes to get our order taken. About that same amount of time for food. Waters remained empty most of the time. The table next to me came in, ordered drinks, and then waited OVER an hour for the waiter to take their order before walking out the door and saying "the cokes are on them, we're done waiting!" Food was okay but the burger was dry. Burger cost $15 btw. There are LOTS of good food options in this area. Don't waste an opportunity for good food on this place.

I had a nice evening dinner with my fiancé and we were assisted by Cherry, who recommended a delightful fried chicken sandwich that I ended up eating along with a full pizza and pretzel. Though I feel mildly obese now after eating my body weight, I would definitely be back to eat again and Cherry made us feel right at home! Thank you :)

I'm staying at the Embassy Suite and this restaurant is part of the hotel. Came down to get a pizza for takeout late last night. It was a 12" pizza and cost ~20 USD - rather expensive for what is essentially a medium pizza. It tasted fine. Nothing special. I would only come here again if I was working in my hotel room and got hungry late at night and didn't want to go outside to other restaurants (which was the case last night).

Was here last week with some colleagues for a quick bite. Decent enough place with good food, prices and service. Mostly has pizza, but also offers wide selection of appetizers, burgers/heros and a few Italian-style entrees. Very extensive bar, with a ton of options to choose from. Would recommend trying it out.

Lobster Deviled eggs tasty. Pizza was good. Lobster bisque was good. Service was great. Small menu. Some good choices for everyone.

What a great little hidden gem located on embassy suites property. Very easy to pass by. Nice weekday specials but the regular menu is traffic as well. A number of exceptional and eclectic menu items as well as some very fine craft beers! Do yourself a favor and stop in!

Ate here upon evening arrival for convenience since it is in the Embassy Suites property. Had a pizza which was not too bad but to me it seemed excessively cheesy and the thin crust was a bit doughy. Great place to watch TV but if you want conversation it is noisy.

Known for their pizzas and Italian food. Their burgers are huge. Has a Family friendly area and they have a nice long bar. Nice outside patio area.

Sports bar in hotel restaurant. Standard fare. Seemed to have a good selection of beer on tap. I ordered a meal and took it up to my room, since room service simply adds a few dollars on to the menu from this restaurant.

Took a bunch of kids and parents for a pizza bday lunch. Ness, our server, took great care of the group. Always amazed when a server doesn't need to write down the orders, but gets it perfect. She even guessed what my friend would want removed and added to his salad. Thanks again for the hospitality. Food was excellent too. Highly recommend.

Had dinner here twice while staying at The Hyatt and found it a nice casual atmosphere. The pizza and drinks were very good.

Cherry at bar was especially gracious and professional . It was a pleasure visiting. Looking forward to visiting again. The pizza was wonderful and as expected. The crowd was fun especially given comic con environment Rsuarez@rsengineering.com

Good little place this. It has both indoor and outdoor tables. Group of 8 of us came here last week and couldn't fault the food or the service. Staff are friendly and although the food took a while to come out they were really nice about it and it was worth waiting for. Not too pricey either I thought it was very reasonable especially for the portion size and quality.

Had an appetizer and cocktail here while waiting for friends. The Bruscetta was delicious and service was great!

I was staying in the adjoining Embassy Suites for five nights. During my stay I enjoyed lunch, a couple of dinners, and more than one drink at the bar. The staff was great and the food was even better. Delicious burgers and pizza. I would certainly go back.

We dined here on two occasions during our stay between Christmas and New Years and our entire group of 7 enjoyed their meals each time. The pizza was great, pork chops awesome, and lobster ravioli was yummy!

Fantastic cheese steak sandwich. Convenient location and reasonably priced. Service was excellent with a good beer/wine selection.

Enjoyed a late lunch and dinner at the NY West while staying at the Embassy Suites Hotel Downtown San Diego. What a great venue for dining. Geza our server was outstanding. Friendily, courteous, and very professional he went out of his way to ensure we well taken care of during our two visits. Pizza, main dishes like salmon, etc. were very well done and very tasty. This restaurant/sports bar is in a perfect location to grab a quick beverage, light appetizers, or a full meal. Thanks again Geza for making our experience at the NY West a great one. See you on our return trip back to San Diego and the Embassy Suites Hotel on the Bay.

Overall good pizza. service kind of slow. Place was very clean and presentable but noisy for about 10 people inside.

One evening while we were sitting at the Embassy Suites happy hour craving pizza. Asked the bartender where to go and she told us about this place right down the hall!!! We did not see any signs in our room or in the lobby!!! Anyway, ordered pizza and salad to go. Great tasting both!! Sat in the hotel restaurant and ate it while drinking free at the ES happy hour...

Great place to grab a bite to eat. Nice selection of burgers and sandwiches. Seemed to be doing a healthy pizza trade when we where there. Lots of draft beers to pick from. Nice service.

Oh where do i start here - hmmmm meatballs, yes oh and there's the huge selection of craft beers, it's on the lobby level at Embassy Suites but not part of the hotel - pizza yumm - oh and did I mention the beer selection, all good...

We ate here after traveling all day and being a guest at the Embassy Suites. Although they have an amazing pizza oven, we focused on eating through the small bites menu which was great. Large offerings on the small plates that suited for us. Service was attentive and kind. We ate outside on the patio and my only concern is that I didn't realize that you could smoke in public in the state of California as the couple next to us was smoking with their meal.

I loved this place. The pizza was so fresh tasting! Our waiter was very nice, and was very fun to have as a server. I do not remember his name but he was tall with dark shaggy hair.

Ok 6 of us have eaten here twice now . I was about to write a review after the first visit but just got busy . Now after our 2 nd visit I just have to say the 4 teenagers we have voted there Pizza the best they have ever eaten and they have eaten Pizza from Calgary to San Diego and east to Winnipeg or west to Victoria so its good ! The service from the waitress and waiter along with the bartenders recommendations and photo taking are spectacular. This restaurant is a 10 out of 10. 5 stars is not enough . And all this from a packed restaurant. With minimal wait. Great job New York West !! We have put this on our must eat list in San Diego

I went to dine at New York west and my server Jeanie was excellent! My drinks were never empty and made sure I had everything I needed. I was very pleased and the food was great as well. I will definitely be returning when I come back!

Very disappointed with the food. It was the worst shrimp cocktail I have ever had. My daughter had 2 appetizers and said one was "ok" and the other not very good. I would not visit this restaurant again.

I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. I got the pepperoni pizza and it was greasy and chewy. I don't buy that it was wood fired for a second. I would have rather had a frozen pizza.

Had a quick pizza before we headed out this afternoon. Randy the bartender was attentive, friendly and it showed that he does enjoy his job.

Glad we went in to this restaurant bar. The service and the music was good. We ordered fish and chips and the house burger. Both were tasty and we would definitely go back again.

We were greeted immediately when we arrived and had great service for our whole visit. Bartender was accommodating for the hockey game we wanted to watch and Cherry was an excellent server. Definitely recommend for drinks, food and sports!

Not quite ready for primetime. We dined here one weeknight and it was empty. We initially picked it for one of the menu items, which they happened to be out of. Also, no kids menus, even though it's attached to the Embassy Suites as the only restaurant. Service was fine since we were the only ones there. Food was underwhelming. My lobster ravioli came out luke warm. Possibly frozen before? For the price, should have looked elsewhere.

Nothing special food-wise but has good pizza and is not noisy so good for a buisness lunch/dinner. Convenient in that it's in the Embassy Suites.

We were staying at the Grand Hyatt a block away. Thought we would check this place out for drinks and something to eat on Saturday, November 18, 2023 about 7PM. There were a few people sitting at the bar but no one else at the tables. Strange for a Saturday night I would think. We sat at a table and were pretty much ignored for about 15 minutes, then finally a young female server came over. The menu choices were pretty limited and she said they were out of several items. We each had a couple drinks and ordered light food. I had the Truffle Fries, which were just ordinary French fries with some salt and what looked like parsley on them. A plate of fries $18 ... REALLY? Too expensive, poor food, poor service and generally unfriendly.

I love this place for hand tossed pizzas and happy hour. The beer selection is great and a full bar. The menu is large with plenty of good choices. We enjoy the patio for people watching and hanging out before our evening downtown.

The food was good but pricey for what you get. The service was good and since it was in the hotel that we stayed at made it convenient.

Great service by Chris. Attentive and friendly. Pizza and wings and a beer flight were top-notch. Highly recommend. Great time!

Just opened--our experience >service not the best >meatball appetizer not so good >Hamburgers and fries were good >had no high chairs for small kids >there manager on duty--seems like they will address issues in the future--
Got a sandwich for takeout
It had been a long day and I didn't want a beer so just ordered a meatball sandwich for takeout. The price was good, the meatballs were great and the roll was good, but didn't care for the sauce. People were enjoying their selection of beers.
