First impressions, too crowded, too dark, and too noisy. Waited in a crowded bar for about 10 mintutes...not a problem on the wait time. Once we were seated, our table was right in the path of staff and guests, not happy. Asked to be relocated, and with no push back, was seated at a better table. This place is mad on a Sat night. It's so busy and loud, but after a while, we started to enjoy it. It's why you come to a place like this. The waiter was great, the drinks and appetizers were great. We just enjoyed taking it all in. You saw young and old, high sophisticated and casual diners. Main course came and we loved it. After dinner, before we left, a manager approached and asked about our experience. We shared what we thought and he offered us some cake to go...it was a nice gesture that we took him up on. The chocolate cake was delicious and could have served 4. What we expected is what we got, and then some. I would definitely return! If you like to see a bustling, live atmosphere with great food, this is the place to be. Oh, by the way, got to meet Matt Jones, QB for the Patriots...you never know who will be there.

Best steakhouse ambience in Dallas by far, good staff and very nice food. Steaks are excellent, as is the sushi and the wagu dishes. Ask for off catalogue offerings as well. Never cheap but well worth it. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is always lively, but we were seated in a really dark back room this time. Although all the seating is tight Nick and Sam's, we felt trapped in a dungeon yelling at each other with phone lights. We had to use phone lights to order and waitress flash light to check our food. Dim lights are cool for the bar, not dinner with friends. Thankfully, my Sole Oscar was still delicious. They need more lighting back there or just reserve it for couples who want to be secluded or groups using the projector. Request main dinner room to get a better atmosphere for dinner.

Came here to dine for the second time. I’ve the ambiance and service, but the quality of the food deserves attention. I must say that I didn’t try the steak, only the seafood. But the scallops were not great.

This has to be one of the worst experiences before we even saw a menu that I've ever had. The wait to park. The thoughtless and rude staff. The arrogance of blowing us off even with a reservation. And don't mention the crowds of customers all sharing this virus with wild abandon. This was the makings of a new story. What a horrible place. We will not be back.

Well I’m really sad to write this review because I did absolutely love this place at one point in time. But here lately I have had the worst luck here. The staff seem to be very overwhelmed and can’t handle the work load. It took about 15-20 mins to get drinks of any sort to the table. As everything followed in that same manner. I ordered a filet minion medium well and it came out very close to raw so I sent it back. The replacement steak that came out was the exact same way so I just chose to not eat anything further. At the end of all this I will say they did take care of my steak which I appreciated but it also took another 45 minutes to an hour to retrieve our bill. All in all I hope things get better service wise or I don’t see myself returning there anytime soon.

Once you get past their version of show-and-tell and get to the star attraction, actually eating the food, the experience is very good. Pricey!!! The steak tartare appetizer and the caprese salad were hits with everyone. The steak portions are quite large and easily shareable unless you want lots of leftovers. A don’t miss side is their damn good fries. Our party of four ate half the order; the rest were taken home. Do try the heirloom carrots. Like us, I suspect you will be glad you did. We were celebrating a birthday. I must say I was shocked and somewhat disappointed that such a high-end restaurant did not offer a complementary desert. Too bad that our evening ended on such a disappointing note.

Visiting Dallas for a convention -- and a friend recommended we try Nick & Sams. Great referral! Terrific service -- and manager checked twice during our meal to be certain everything was to our liking. I had their prime filet mignon medium rare. As good as piece of beef as I have had anywhere. Lightly salted and peppered and slightly charred on the outside. Beautifully rare, moist and succulent on the inside. Had a side of their wonderful creamed corn. My companion had a filet of fish -- haddock I believe. It was covered with large chunks of crab meat -- and as tasty as my meat. A real gem! Will return the next time I am in Dallas.

If you want to feel like you are unimportant and meager this is the place to go. I've never felt like I didn't matter but Nick and Sam's made me and my family feel as such. In fact we have a child with Down Syndrome and part of me believes that we weren't viewed as the pretty and popular patrons so we were treated as such. I felt like I had a scarlet letter draped around my neck but rather an I than an A standing for imperfect. The predominance of the time everyone is kind to my son and family, however, the employees at this restaurant seem to think they are more important and better than you and me. We waited a significant amount of time and upon questioning Enoc (General Manager) why our wait was so long, we were told we checked in in very late and hence the reason for our wait. We in fact were 5 minutes late and raised that point with a picture of us checking in. Enoc during this conversation stated "I'm going to have to ask you to leave" as our pitch rose slightly as he created that lie. After I asked who checked us in and what time, suddenly their electronic check in was not so advanced as he wan't sure. Furthermore; he only then addressed my daughters boyfriend rather than my wife and I. I have news for Nick and Sam's the younger party usually doesn't pay your bill or give you a tip. So addressing them rather than me and my wife added insult to injury. In the future they should address the gainfully employed rather than the younger crowd who is along for the ride. After such confrontation; my wife and family decided to wait anyway as they felt this was their easy way out and didn't really want the three to four security guards (Unusual for a fine dining establishment) to actually escort us out of the restaurant. I, however, would have prefered the security escort as I anticipated what was to come. So the folly continued. We genuinely tried to give our waiter (Dustin) a pass as he had nothing to do with our wait. We sat at our table an hour and a half late and they had one water glass and three menus for our party of five. As you can see our pass for the waiter soon expired. He didn't offer us the steak display offered to everyone else around at the restaurant and didn't mention any special or off the menu items which we discovered were available by the party sitting next to us. He certainly privately spoke to the general manager about us under their breath immediately adjacent to our table. The service was subpar and food was ok. My fried lobster was a bit dry and the steak was average and over cooked. The scallops were good but not exceptional. The banana pudding is average and appetizers unspectacular. The drinks were pretty good but used to drown are anger and disappointment rather than for our enjoyment.. In addition: as I waited for my son within the handicap toilet stall after our meal a manager beckoned over the stall asking if we were "OK?' I have never been approached in a bathroom over the stall by anyone before. It felt very inappropriate at a fine ding establishment let alone a football game. I remained confused and still don't have the slightest inkling why at this point the management felt it important to approach me there, where I couldn't see them or address them appropriately. The only person who understood that this was actually supposed to be a fine dining establishment was the buser (Marvin) who my wife tipped (The only tip given for the evening unless you count a penny). The facts (which management will likely dispute): 7:35: Arrival and checked in with Raquel 7:40: Ordered drinks at the very loud bar (A concert is quieter) 8:05: Asked hostess Raquel how much longer it would be and she informed me that a table was finishing desert and we would be seated promptly 8:15: Reapproached Raquel who told me the same thing so I asked to speak to the manager 8:35: Manager Enoc asked us to leave after we were told we checked in very late 35 minutes late and got upset at such and mildly raised our voice (We arrived 5 minutes after our reservations) 8:52: Seated for dinner as we wouldn't give the manager the easy way out 8:53 Were told by the waiter we only have two menus for our party of five and didn't have silverware or water 9:09: Water with silverware arrived. Ordered more drinks as we needed them at this point 9:22: Ordered our appetizers 9:45: Ordered our diner without being offered any specials or off the menu items (i.e Chateaubriand)> Furthermore; waiter didn't allow for the steak presentation and just took our order 10: 15: Diner arrived 11:06: Left Nick and Sam’s

What a terrible experience and waste of money. I dined with my significant other to celebrate a special occasion on a Thursday evening in March of 2019. We were seated promptly and on time. However, the rest went downhill from there. This place was so noisy you couldn't carry on a basic conversation with the person seated next to you. We aren't hard of hearing, but we could barely hear our waiter half the time. The problem is the number of people they are trying to cram into their dining area. How the fire marshal for Dallas doesn't fine them is beyond me. But its literally a maze to get to the bathroom. And if you are an overweight individual - forget it. You literally had to turn sideways to get past almost every single table due to the number of people they cram in there. We decided to order the Chateaubriand for 2 - priced at $180. We asked for it to be cooked medium. When they brought it out table side they cut it off the bone and then in half. It looked fairly medium rare. But I never send a steak back. If a high-end restaurant doesn't know how to cook at steak at this point in their life - they never will. And unfortunately for Nick & Sam's - its all about turning tables and cramming people in and out as quickly as possible - which means ultimately - under cooked steaks. The tenderness of the meat was perfect. But there was zero seasoning and flavor. And when my better half handed me her piece of rare meat that she sliced from the center of her portion I knew the rest of the meal was downhill. I've truly had better cooked steaks with more flavor at a Texas Roadhouse. So unfortunate and underwhelming. The appetizers and sides were bland at best. Had the shrimp cocktail and their cocktail sauce is basically spiced ketchup. The crab cake was smelly and fishy tasting - more than one ever should be. Au gratin potatoes lacked for any type of flavor. On what seemed to be the only bright note, the cocktails were good. We didn't opt for dessert given how disappointing everything else had been. For a $300+ meal, you can get far better at the numerous high end steakhouses you have to choose from in the DFW area. I went to the men's room and it looked as if a bunch of drunks had peed all over the toilet and everywhere on the floor in one of the stalls. Absolutely disgusting and not kept up thru the night. This is definitely NOT the place to go for a romantic and/or quiet dinner. Maybe the head chef would be better served monitoring his food quality in the kitchen rather than chatting it up the whole night at the hostess stand (which we observed coming and going). Do yourself a favor and pick one of the other numerous, and much better, steakhouses in the DFW area.

If you want a great steak dinner in Dallas and go somewhere else, you are doing it wrong. This is were the locals go. Expect high price tags, but you’ll get service and food to match.

This was my second visit to Nick and Sam’s as we were celebrating a friend’s birthday. The restaurant was full on a Sunday evening. The servers are very knowledgeable about the food. He brought out the Japanese Wagyu beef to show us under plastic wrap which I though was so ghetto. We were recommended the duck Mac and cheese which I did not care for. We started off with the crispy rice sushi. I’ve had this in NYC and here at Bick and Sam’s it tastes stale. We also had the prime NY strip and ribeye. The steak was ok. Not better than Pappas by a long shot. We had the red velvet cake for dessert which was dry. The food could have been much better.

The food was amazing. But the atmosphere was loud, crowded and frenetic. If you’re looking for a high end, luxurious dining experience this place is not for you. Out waiter was over extended and not at all friendly. Way too crowded. Doubt I’ll go back.

My husband and I were part of a birthday party for my son's girlfriend. We had reservations for 7:00 pm and were seated fairly quickly. Unfortunately we must have drawn the short straw because we were seated at a table that was at the entrance where every came into the dining room. I lost count of how many times people bumped into my chair. I don't remember our waitresses name but she was excellent as were all the others that assisted her with our group. My husband and I split a bone in rib eye. It was cooked just as we requested and was fork tender. We ordered the scalloped potatoes and they were delicious. Everyone at our table enjoyed what they ordered also. We had a good experience. It was fun to see what other tables ordered and try new things at our table. We felt that while it was nice to have a pianist playing it was a little loud. We felt that the tables were placed too close together. And the restroom was the darkest restroom I have ever been in. It's decorated in black and the lighting is horrible. I had trouble locking my stall door and I couldn't see but had to feel around on the lock to get it to work. But all in all I give the restaurant five stars because the food was so good.

My husband and I went here to celebrate our 9 yr wedding anniversary about a week ago. We'd been wanting to try Nick and Sam's for quite some time and figured this would be a great time to go. We were greeted with champagne, which was very nice. Where our experience went down hill started with our waitress. She made us feel like we were cheap with every decision we made. The steaks we had had no flavor and you almost had to rely on the Nick and Sam's steak sauce to continue to eat it. The only thing good about our experience was the dessert, which then the waitress made us feel cheap for wanting to take home our leftover cotton candy that we wanted to give our 16 month old daughter. I tried to reach out to Nick and Sam's contact us and explain our experience and it's clear they don't care about the experience their guests receive...they just want their money. I've never felt cheap spending $300 on a meal for two. Overall, a horrible experience and we'll not be going back...and neither will our friends or family that we've expressed our experience to when asked. Take your business somewhere else, unless you want to spend lots of money and be made to feel cheap.

Meal was outstanding from beginning to end. Only negative is that tables are packed very tight, making it difficult to maneuver in the dining room. Otherwise a perfect high-end steakhouse.

I made a reservation on Saturday, 9/16/23 to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. We got to the restaurant a few minutes before our reservation but it took us nearly 10 minutes to check-in. Once we checked-in, we were told to wait at the bar. We waited over an hour to get seated. The bar was extremely crowded that everyone kept bumping into one another. The staff seemed very unorganized. I expected a better operations system considering the reputation this establishment has. Once we left, valet took over 30 mins trying to find our car. It appeared that the valet team lost the ticket number associated with our car key. The experience was very disappointing and this is the last time I will be visiting this restaurant. I would not recommend this place to any friends or family.

Excellent service and delicious food, nice atmosphere and great drink selections, very convenient complimentary valet parking as well as the complimentary caviar. Overall a great experience

Appetizers were ok Sides were just ok Steak was not worth it. Asked for medium came out raw without any good flavor Best part of the meal: the fries Its a place for rich people to waste money.

We ate dinner here before the Elton John concert and our meal added to this magical night! The cocktails were on point, as well as the calamari and oyster appetizers. Garbage salad was also good (and shareable). We shared the chateaubriand between three of us which was perfect and included delicious sautéed mushrooms. The lobster tail at $99 was nothing special, would not recommend for the price. Sides of lobster Mac and broccolini rounded out the meal. The peanut butter/chocolate dessert was both pretty and yummy. But above all the service was impeccable! We dined early on a Saturday evening so the complaints we read in other reviews about the noise level did not affect us. Definitely recommend for a special occasion dinner.

This was such a disappointing evening. We had reservations, we didn't get sat until an hour after a reservation time. Two hours went by and none of us had food. Our whole group was visibly upset and no manager at come by to explain what was going on or offer any apology or explanation. Then a hostess came by and said they're playing our food. 10 to 15 minutes went by and none of our food had come out. Then when our food came out we were obviously upset and annoyed and ready to go. So some of us said please box it up we will take it with us others said we don't even want it we're just gonna go. Then when they brought the food for those of us that asked for a box they brought it all together when we were visibly all not going to the same place. meanwhile 3 to 4 tables around us had been seated, eaten, some even got dessert, and had left. One in our party had water spilt all over him, with a lackadaisical apology and one napkin as an unacceptable resolution. All in all this is a terrible experience. I've been a couple times before and the food has been terrific, but this was definitely a huge disappointment and I won't be back.

Fun, charming staff and possibly the best steaks in Texas. The atmosphere is always incredible and the restaurant constantly busy with a wonderful buzz that isn’t overbearing. The service team cannot do enough for you and as I done previously asked for something not on the menu and it has been managed without question. Well done as always.

I was in Dallas for work and had Saturday night free and solo. Nick & Sam's was close to my hotel and had a reservation available so it seemed like a good idea. I regret this decision! I checked in with the hostesses who just stared at me. I guess they had never seen "a party of one" before. Despite having a reservation, I waited 30 min for my table in a loud, dark and crowded lobby. I was finally brought to my table and the vibe of dark and loud continued. People at the tables around me were shouting at each other. It was hectic and stressful. While my Caesar salad was very good, the steak was dry and the "Oscar" was just some canned crab on a separate plate. My disappointment is somewhat tempered by the fact that my waiter was very nice. The 2 stars are for the waiter and the salad.

Hands down one of the best experiences. The food is amazing. Been multiple times and never had a bad dish. Great wine list too. World class service. A must in Dallas.

We had a reservation, but due to only one person handling valet we waited over 15 minutes for our car to be parked. Walked in the restaurant late for our reservation by 20 minutes (you're only allowed a 15 minute grace period), and was told we needed to sit in the bar since our reservation was cancelled, or we had to wait until a table became available. Bar has loud music playing, which I have never seen in a high-end steakhouse. Food was excellent, definitely priced on the higher side. Service from our servers was excellent. Don't sit in the bar.

We loved the vibe of this place … it was fully packed and over crowded but they managed to have very quick service … loved the food and the presentation of all the dishes … they have the best dessert options … we went for this giant chocolate cake which was served with fire sparklers … absolutely loved it … it was so fresh and yummy (topped with so many berries) i would go back again specially for that cake … its a must visit restaurant for a trip to dallas.

Forever my favorite place in Dallas. Been coming for 5-6 years and it get better every time. Brian is an amazing manager and the staff is incredibly welcoming

Nick & Sam's food and service is exceptional - something for everyone! The perfect place to celebrate special occasions!

After reading many reviews on TripAdvisor (and elsewhere) I have come to the conclusion that some restaurants just don't "fit" some people. Nick & Sam's is a wonderful dining experience, but it is an experience in every sense of the word. Yes, it is loud. Yes, it is expensive. Yes, it is crowded. Yes, it is a scene. Yes, it is delicious. If you don't like these things, don't go to this restaurant. The tables and people are packed into the main dining area. You will be brushed into by servers and patrons whizzing by. You will be close to other tables. You will hear other people. However, the bottom line is they consistently provide some of the best food and service in Dallas. On our most recent visit in June 2019 we had Teck as our primary server, and he was easily one of the most knowledgeable and attentive servers we've had anywhere. I don't eat meat, but the rest of our party had amazing looking and tasting cuts of various meat for dinner. They started with king crab, which everyone said was incredible. I can comment on the sides and let you know that the sauteed forest mushrooms might be the best mushrooms I have ever had. The broccolini, spaetzle, au gratin potatoes, and grilled asparagus were also superb. Quick tip: Get the rainbow cake and the cotton candy, especially if you are bringing someone for the first time or it is your first time. The rainbow cake is wonderful and the cotton candy with the light in it is just fun to look at. Also, think about whether this is your kind of scene. Uptempo and raucous isn't for everyone.

This is a great steakhouse the atmosphere was so pleasant, it was casual yet relaxed. We went out for dinner with friends and had a surprisingly good time from the courteous staff to the mix of music. We've been to other steakhouses and they've all Felt so congested and dry this is a must eat in dallas. Food and wine was delicious.

Living in Alberta Canada, I have been to a fair amount of steakhouse restaurants. Well Nick and Sam’s has been put up in my top three (have to go back to the others for another review). Our hostess, Megan was fabulous! I am still amazed at how she was able to walk us through the various cuts of meats an the seafood. The Waygu, was to die for! My biggest suggestions, bring an appetite, and good friends to share the meal! Everything really is “bigger” in Texas!

I've eaten in school lunchrooms that were quieter than this restaurant. We couldn't even hear each other talk. Service - slow; Food - decent, but a rip off. There are two to three times as many tables in the dining room as there should be.

I had a wonderful experience at a recent business dinner. We were in a private dining area and the staff was extremely attentive. The decor is very sophisticated and the atmosphere is very elegant. Food is delicious.

Notwithstanding reservation, we were seated in the bar at a table much too small for our group of 7. Very loud, prices sky high, food overcooked, and bartender incompetent (could not fix a Manhattan after being told what to do). Can’t think of any redeeming aspect of the evening and hope never to return

Three of us visited here for our first time last night. It is was bustling in there--and a Monday night to boot! It is quite dark; actually so dark that the servers use flashlights to do their jobs as in give you fresh ground black pepper and show you the different cuts of meat. Our server was a sweet young lady who was knowledgeable of the menu, etc., but she was pretty slow. After she brought my husband's wine, she disappeared for about 15 minutes without having taken our order for starters. Now to the food. My son enjoyed his sushi and oysters very much. My beet and arugula salad was drenched in dressing. All three of us got the filet and all agreed that it was one of the best steaks we had ever eaten....and we've had many. It was fabulous. My son ordered creme brulee for dessert, and it wasn't the best we'd tasted. They add quite a bit of cinnamon to the sugar on top and it was just ok. We did see a really fun dessert that isn't on the menu. It was a huge stick of cotton candy with flashing lights underneath mounted some way on a plate of cookies. That looked fun!

Restaurant atmosphere, service, and food are top notch! They have valet parking, meat presentation, piano player. It was my birthday and I received complimentary champagne for a toast. Staff was so welcoming. I got the veal chop and it was to die for! We ordered the salted caramel banana pudding and it was incredible. Cotton candy presentation was so fun! Zack was our service, he’s outstanding! Will request him next time. Can’t wait to return

Very noisy, steaks are super larger without much flavor, creamed spinach tasted horrible - my test is when I don't eat the food, I want to see if the server will ask if everything was ok. Our server did not. Our dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine was $500 and we had to ask for bread -- which was awful. The bring out large, raw steaks on a platter to EVERY table and the server had his butt in my face while he showed the teenagers next to us their "high-end" steaks. Why not ask if I want to see them? The steaks were all for 2-3 people. It seemed to have a circus atmoshphere with candy cotton and a sparkler as their "fancy" dessert. Go to Ruth Chris!

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Dallas. It didn't start out great. The manager tried seating us TWICE at a 4 top for 6 people. Let us hanging out - standing in the dining room =- then told me (in a little snippy tone) someone else checked in under our name - not a great start. Thankfully the waiter made up for the managers’ flippancy. The appetizers were great. Again, I do not like the way they plate the Oysters Rockefeller -- a white plate with white rock salt - just doesn't "pop" for such a signature and decadent dish that tastes delicious. The steak was under cooked - Medium Rare - not Medium as ordered. Plus it was a little under-seasoned. And the stems of the thyme were let in the sautéed mushroom. VERY Bush League. Not what I would except from the chef. Of course ,the desserts were huge. Although I don't quite understand why they would list prices on all of their desserts - but the large slice of cake is listed as "MP" - Market Price? Really -- didn't know the cake was traded on the commodities market. Overall – not quite the “pre-covid” perfection of Nick and Sam’s - but still worth the splurge.

Our group enjoyed its recent dinner at Nick & Sam's. Appetizers were varied and consistently tasty: Roasted portobello, calamari and vegetable rolls. Entrees were also delicious: Filet Mignon, King Salmon, Pork Chop & grits, with tasty sides like butternut squash and mac 'n' cheese. They accommodated dietary restrictions well, including gluten-free dishes (after they corrected a few missteps).

Place has been around and still packs them in. Lot’s of players and posers so there is plenty to see. Besides all the people watching the food is pretty good.

It’s unique, it’s expensive, and we all thought it was a great experience. Not your usual dining experience for sure as it’s loud but that for us just added to the atmosphere, low lighting also but that once again just seemed to fit. I had the Scallops which were amazing whilst the rest tried the steak, one being a Wagyu at $55 an ounce but hey Ho we had travelled all the way from the UK so it was all part of the fun. Very memorable, great service and friendly staff. Try it.

We were in town to celebrate a birthday. This place went great lengths to add special touches to make our experience special. Ed was fantastic from the moment we sat down till we left. He’s very knowledgeable about the steaks, extensive wine list, and menu. They provided a complementary champagne toast and caviar- yum. Cocktails are wonderful. They have one with cotton candy and vodka is poured over for a bubbly effect. For starters, the lobster deviled eggs were wonderful. If you like wedge salad, this one will raise your bar! Lots of bacon and blue cheese! We all ordered the filet mignon. Very tender and prepared perfectly. On the side, we ordered duck Mac & cheese. Very good and cheesy. The dessert menu was fabulous. We wanted to order everything, but since it was a bday, Ed had the best recommendation. The 7 layer cake with sparklers and cotton candy, sherbet, and gummy bears!! What an ending to a great dining experience. I say experience because we were there 3 hours (granted, it didn’t seem like 3 hours). This is a busy, very crowded, and loud place. They get as many patrons in as they can by placing the tables as close together as possible. But, the food and the experience makes you forget about that.

Fun super louid super crazy steak house.. Do not eat seafood here.. that is just dumb. Great service. Very attentive crew! Cant wait to come again

Fancy, traditional, comfort serve with sophistication and simplicity — best experience in Dallas. Special place to eat a great variety of steak and high energy environment.

Excellent service and food. Highly recommedn to anyone looking for a great steak night with no concerns for cost - it is expensive indeed!

My husband and I took our niece and her boyfriend to a Sunday night belated Valentine's Day dinner. We have been to N&S many times and to many nice restaurants in our day and have never been treated so poorly by a waiter. As soon as he realized we were not ordering drinks, nor were my niece and I ordering big pricey steaks, he began to rush through our dinner in a very intrusive and noticeable manner. Trying to rush us through our appetizer though it was clearly still half full, trying to take away our bread, though we were still eating it, trying to clear our entrees as quickly as possible though our plates were half full yet again. It was incredibly rude, I have never seen a wait staff treat people poorly just because they weren't dropping $400 ( I guess $300 wasn't enough for him) on a Sunday night. How does he know that my husband wouldn't come back with clients or we with friends for a pricier dinner the next time? Short-sighted and unacceptable on his part. The only reason I didn't complain to the manager was because I didn't want to embarrass or ruin the night for my niece and her boyfriend. We won't be back.

While in town for Easter we had planned a family Easter brunch at Nick and Sam’s. We check in for our 2pm reservation and it is complete chaos. Hostess says there are delays but not until she is pressed does she say it will be about an hour wait (not sure the point of reservations). She also confirmed to us that they would definitely not run out of certain food items, nor would they start putting food away since we were sitting so much later than our reservation time. We finally sat around 3:15… and sure enough they ran out of crab, pig and tenderloin. Meanwhile, many items in the buffet had been sitting out and were cold. Also, they took down the omelette bar… did they run out of eggs too??? As the one positive, the sushi was good. However the worst part was that staff were lining up at the buffet while we had barely even eaten. So now we are waiting in line behind staff for food while we are paying $85 per person. I have never even seen that at a low end buffet and didn’t expect it at an expensive place. When we tried to get some dessert there was no one cutting cake or scooping ice cream not surprisingly… they were probably eating at this point. The manager attempted to help and brought some food out from the kitchen but by this point we were eating dessert. Last but not least, we weren’t told there was a 20% service charge so I added extra (my fault as I didn’t have my reading glasses). I noticed it after and when I mentioned to the manager he said he would correct it but I’m still waiting for that. Overall would give it a zero if not for the sushi. Just shockingly poor for a high end restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend nor will I be returning when I’m back in Dallas.

The food is absolutely great! I ate a steak and it was absolute amazing! The service was great! There was live music, which was phenomenal! I absolutely love this place!

This is a well known steak house in Dallas. Met a group of friends for the evening. Because we had a large group, we could not be seated until everyone got there. Some were stuck in traffic so we hung in the bar which was fine. Good drinks there. But as people showed up, we literally couldn't be seated until we were down to just one person outstanding. Servicer was quite rude, not unlike what you would expect in an old timey steakhouse. Tables were so close together, it was difficult to get out once seated. It was very noisy as well because of this. A friend and I ordered a bottle of white wine to share which was taken away, not kept in ice by the table. We constantly had to ask for refills and couldn't really see where the wine was taken. Most had meat or fish, sashimi which looked ok. I am vegetarian and was served a spicy tofu vegetable dish which I really couldn't eat because the sauce was so thick and sweet. They did, however, serve a complimentary caviar serving which was the highlight.

Expect more for Price Point Dallas is known for high end steak houses, so each has to find its way to stand out. Nick & Sam’s does this with a selection of high quality unique cut meats along with a large selection of Wagyu beef. Portions and pricing are huge and not for the everyday. Server brought out a tray of potential cuts and the smallest was 20 ounces of meat. Later, a whole Alaskan King Crab was offered at $1,000 for a ten pounder. We settled on a crab cake, simple small 10 ounce Filet which was fine without the garish portions, scalloped potatoes and some Brussels sprouts. Together the food could have fed three people and the sides were only okay. Steak was excellent. Wine has a 4x markup for bottles under a $100 and about a 2-3x markup for all others so no values here. Carrot cake was a little dry and the smaller, half size portion would feed four. Excess for no reason.

Food was very good and very expensive. The staff was amazing and took really good care of us. Seems to be the who’s Who of Dallas restaurants. Highly recommend taking the servers recommendations. Excellent steak and sushi.

Food is excellent; however, I expect the entire experience to be excellent at premium pricing and the valet/parking situation is unacceptably bad. On arrival, the line to valet was more than 10 minute, pickup was 15 minutes. Offer self parking if you cannot meet service standards.

We've been there several times, celebrating birthdays. It was very busy and the service suffered. We waited a long time for drinks, caviar, and rest of our dinner. The bone-in ribeye ($110!) lacked flavor and was full of gristle and chunks of fat. The roasted octopus appetizer was tender. We had the king crab corn side dish as an appetizer. The portion was huge and delicious. After those appetizers and salads (which also lacked flavor) we were full! I had the foie gras appetizer as my meal. It wasn't even warm. The flavor was good but it seemed a bit undercooked so the texture was off. Overall, very disappointing for what you pay. Don't think we will go back.

So these fine dining places are keeping Dallas alive because this city struggles with good food! After three days of being unsatisfied with multiple places we went to we decided to step it up to attempt to get something in our bellies because like general cuisine just wasn’t cutting it. So that leads us to why we chose here. Our Uber driver recommended this place and so we went! Upon walking in one would expect a vibe, I meant dim lighting, greeted immediately then shortly seated thereafter. Now after this part there was a hiccup in our service where we were like where’s our server…but after my coworker voiced her concerns we noticed an immediate improvement. Now drinks, are pretty solid. I got the bouton iced teacher but honestly tasted like just peach tea soo I wouldn’t get again because it wasn’t worth the price at alll. But my friends liked the margs and the old fashioned. I just ended up getting Jameson neat because you can’t go wrong with that. So that’s that was that. So I love how they come out and do the whole meats situation. They explain all their types of cuts, prices, styles, etc- if you look at my face in the picture you can definitely see me trying to digest it all! But I loved it! We ended up getting steaks. Staff here makes you cut your steak while they are around so that you can ensure it being cooked the way you went it. I had to send mine back because it was a little too red but it was quickly fixed- my the other three steaks at the table were perfect. The creamed corn was also good. Also! When they ask about allergies please be honest! All ingredients aren’t listed! So my friend ordered the Brussel sprouts and they had like some kinda nuts on them and it’s not listed on the menu but the server did ask did anyone have allergies… so we had to send them back to be remade but we blame my friend! So please be honest with things you are allergic to. The green salad and the Cesar salad was good as well. They enjoyed the calamari and these rolls things as well. The bread is also fresh, and we were also brought an app at the beginning that the table loved i just didn’t try. I also love how they celebrate birthdays! A cute dessert and little show! None of us got dessert because we were too full so I can’t comment on that. The bathrooms were clean but just like the rest of the restaurant dim lighting. So clearly, expect to pay… lol. Two drinks per person plus dinner and a side can easily run you over $500 (four of us) but we all agreed that the food was worth it and was the first time in like three four days we had anything good in Dallas. Bill came and co workers said it looked good so we closed out. I looked after closing out and saw we had been charged for an extra glass of wine. I think because there’s sometimes more hands on deck than one our server stated that he thought we had ordered another glass but we didn’t… so he ended up comping some dessert for us to take bc it would be too much to redo the bill after splitting it so make sure you double check your bill before paying! Other than that! All is well! Dalton was an amazing manager and kept checking on us and made us feel welcome. I think our server name was Iam? Idk- but he’s pictured and he was great so please shout him out! One last slight negative was this girl who was serving the table next to me and kept bumping me. After like the third time of her knocking me i adjusted my seat but I felt as though she needed to adjust her path… but that’s that :) Got a cute picture taken orr my request by the lady at the front to wrap up the night and I finally went home full and satisfied for once in dalllas!

The service and food were over-the-top!! We arrived early to have a drink at the bar, the bartender was so nice and the drinks were great. Our server, Ashley was excellent. She knew everything and I appreciate when she introduced the specials that she told us the price as well.

At Nick and Sams bring your wallet, but the food and service are both excellent. Its a bit noisy but its a festive environment. You’ll have a great time and a great steak.

Fabulous decor!! Trendy hot spot this place was packed. Terrific team at the bar they work in unison like perfection. Best bartenders ever!! Best rib eye!!

After a lot of research, we chose Nick and Sam's for my husband's 50th birthday extravaganza and they totally exceeded our expectations! We wanted private dining so Terri offered us the Wine Room. It was exactly what we dreamed of - a luxurious oasis with plenty room to mingle and make sentimental birthday toasts and speeches (inevitable when there are parents!). The staff surprised us by decorating the table and it was just beautiful! The food was gorgeously presented and just delicious, with huge portions. It actually seemed like a great value to us (coming from L.A.). Even though it's a steak restaurant, the seafood was stellar. Best scallops I've ever had. Everyone loved all the food. We ordered a lot of wine. A lot more than I planned, but everyone was enjoying it, so I'm not going to complain. The wine markup really drove up the tab. But the markup is the same as all restaurants, so I can't complain about that. They have a lot of California labels and a wide range of prices. I have a separate paragraph for dessert. For various reasons, the cakes on the menu weren't perfect for the birthday boy. After I gave Terri some input, she worked with the dessert chef and this superstar lady created a custom Piecaken just for us! Google that thing if you've never heard of it. This one was so much better than the one we had ordered online last year. The presentation was completely out of this world too! Then there's the staff. Just Wow. Terri, Alex, and Nicholas - who all helped with the planning, ordering, and wine. Jackson, one of the managers who was continuously checking to make sure every detail was taken care of.. And EMILY, our lead server. Calm, detailed, patient, expert, I could go on and on. I can't thank them enough. I will say that if we had been in the main dining room, the occasion wouldn't have felt as special. It is super loud and festive out there. Which is great if that's what you're in the mood for. But if you want an ultra-personalized experience, talk to Terri about the wine room. It was totally worth it!

We wanted to host our grandson & girlfriend to a special dinner and indeed we did! We started with caviar, a first for them and then sides of asparagus- broccolini-mashed potatoes, filet mignon-ribeye-ahi tuna entrees and everything tasted deliciously. Murals and chandelier were great decors, and pianist a class act. Drawbacks included the loud chatter in which we couldn’t hear our own conversations (due to a full dining area) and an expensive tab!

We had to have a steak before leaving Dallas and opted for Nick and Sam's in uptown Dallas. Set in funky surroundings you can order steaks by torchlight. We ordered crab cake and P.E.I mussels for starters and these were amazing. The steaks however we're at best average, my wife has cooked me better, and its not up to the level of the Hawksmoor restaurants in the UK. Having to cut through the centre upon request from our waitress to confirm they were cooked to our instructions was probably why they went cold so fast. They do have plenty of options on the menu, and you can even order a flashing candyfloss for $40 to 'make you feel special', a few tables did, but didn't see them eat much of it. Extensive wine menu, mostly over $100+ for a bottle, a few around $50 but these have no real body to them. A nice posh restaurant in a nice area of town, shame the steaks were not worth writing home about.

Okay, to start with the food here is not cheap, in fact it is a long way from cheap - but it is worth every penny. The food is amazingly old and the portions are huge. We were visiting from the UK and I ordered the calamari as a starter and got a portion bigger than 5 UK-sized portions! No one in our party finished any course as they were so large. It wasn’t just big portions though, the food was really delicious too. However, what added to the experience is the pure theatre of it all - I have never had a dining experience so spectacular. It has to be experienced to be believed

Let me start with saying, I had read some reviews that made me nervous about trying this spot... however, I’m sooooo glad I didn’t listen!!! This establishment is beyond amazing!!! From the moment we arrived we were totally catered to. Myself, husband and 8 year old were seated promptly in what I would call the back room. They have a bar area, then a very vibrant dining area, and then a back area that was still dining but a little quieter. We were welcomed with champagne and apple cider (8year old) and complimentary caviar. Very nice touch. Our waitress, Alex was so informative and very sweet to our son. I went in knowing that pricing would be on the higher side. However, a person can get a fabulous 10oz filet for $45. Very reasonable in my opinion. We had sushi roll, oysters, calamari for starters. My son had the 10oz filet, and my husband and I shared a 6oz snowflake wagyu (bring your $$$$$$ for that) which was worth every penny!!! Best steak I’ve ever had!!! We opted for the Mac and cheese and shoestring onion rings that my husband said reminded him of an old joint that he went to as a kid and loved!!! Dessert we obviously had the cotton candy and a peanut butter chocolate dish! Everything was absolutely perfect!!! I can’t wait to go back!!! Perfect place for anyone looking for a fun night in Dallas that loves quality food. Cheers to Nick and Sam’s for doing it right!

For a special night out this place is in a class of its own... it is NOT inexpensive... but the staff are amazing and the food is just amazing. Loved trying the complimentary caviar... all the shareable side were amazing... and the setting was beautiful (building, staff, and guests). To feel comfortable - dressier the better, but not required

Beautifully finished restaurant, dark wood and perfect subtle lighting, created a warm ambiance. Incredible wine list. Food was delicious. Do try the tempura shrimp appetizer! Tawny port to top it off.

An incredibly poor experience. Had planned a birthday celebration. We have eaten there a number of times in the past. Always has been a concern about noise but this time staff was VERY rude and uncaring. We were right on time for our reservation. My wife has a disability and needed to sit at a table while we were waiting for the last 2 people of our group of 6 to join us. They refused to allow her to sit at the table and demanded that she sit on a bar stool - something she can cannot do. I asked for the manager and tried to explain the disability issue and he DID NOT CARE in the slightest. They made us check to see how far away the last 2 people were (we checked on their Uber and they were 4 mins away) YET THEY STILL WOULD NOT SEAT HER until the last 2 arrived. We decided to leave rather than to spend our money there (went to Bob's and had a lovely celebration instead). Given the pervasive attitude at all levels interacted with, STAY AWAY!

THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE TRUE!!! I read the reviews initially and thought the bad ones were from people with sticker shock or poor planning, BUT I WAS WRONG! 1. They truly take a minimum of an hour to seat you. Yes, even if you show up an hour earlier than your reservation. 2. If you happen to book a late reservation for say 10pm because it's all they have available on Valentine's Day weekend, they will most certainly rush out all of your food at once (appetizers, entrees and desert all at the same time). 3. If you try your hardest to secure an order for that coveted 7-layer rainbow cake by adding it to your reservation, confirming the day before your reservation AND confirming again once you arrive for your reservation, THAT STILL WILL NOT MATTER! The kitchen is ready to close and so they will "run out" and offer you that ridiculous cotton candy and stupid dessert platter with the nasty beignets stuffed with nutella. The Assistant Manager will be less than apologetic and couldn't care any less. I was so disappointed in this place and will tell anyone who will listen how terrible of a time I had and how terrible the food......OMG the food was BAD!!!! Lobster Mac was salty as hell, absolutely NO SEASONING, not a grain of salt on the ribeye and it was most certainly BURNT around the edges.

Went on a Thursday night to his bustling steakhouse. Crowd was chic and place was boisterous and fun filled. The main dining room was incredible and the bar stylish and tempting. Food, the most important part, was incredible. Definitely plan on returning.

Stopped in for dinner and quality and service was great. Valet was backed up into street at 7 but day before Thanksgiving. Hostess quickly seated us at requested booth Miraya was our server and she was quick thorough and knowledgeable. Steaks were tender flavorful. Sushi was excellent and sides are huge. Food was excellent some of the best steaks. Dessert was delicious. I love to return here when I come to Dallas. It was packed and with the quality I see why. Prices are reasonable and selections great Well done

While this restaurant is noisy...it's still amazing! The way the food is served is always impressive and always delicious.

This is a really great steakhouse. I would recommend it for any occasion. It can get a little loud... however, I am sure after a drink or to I am contributing to the noise ;). The waitstaff is super attentive and knowledgeable of the wine and food menu. This is a GO-TO place.

This is supposed to be a fine Texas steakhouse. At least it’s priced like one. Upon entry, you quickly realize you’ve walked into a kids club that meets night club, with the occasional steak served. It’s cute for a 21 year old birthday celebration with sparklers and glowing cotton candy constantly walking by for birthday celebrations. But the loud music and pitch black atmosphere simply serves to drown the cost of a mediocre steak.

We had a beautiful 60th birthday for my wife which included 15 members of family & friends. Our experience at Nick & Sams was exceptional. The staff treated us like royalty & the food was exquisite. I would state this beautiful steakhouse is one of my favorites in the world. It’s a wonderful combination of exceptional environment, a beautiful facility, a wonderful dining experience the the chefs out did themselves. Our party thoroughly enjoyed our dinner & birthday party at Nick & Sams.

From the moment we walked into this Texas-sized steak house, we were immersed in the upbeat ambiance of playful conversation, the click-clank of bottles being opened and poured, the shuffle of plates and chairs, and a graceful movement throughout the space that reminded me of a musical. Founded by Phil Ramano, Nick & Sam’s is the type of steak house you’d write into a movie, every aspect of the space curated to perfection. The wine list, steak presentation, and caviar bar were all top-notch.

Up market USDA Prime steakhouse. Simply the best. The tomahawk ribeye was the best in the world. The sides awesome. The service unequalled.

Fantastic experience. My husband and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary here tonight, and we could not have been more pleased. Not only was the food outstanding, but the service was also phenomenal. Shoutout to our waiter, Ed, for making it an unforgettable night!

Saturday night with friends. Mediocre steaks, poor service, pricey and not worth it. The sound level in this place made us want to leave and go home so we could hear each other talk. The restaurant did not seem to want to give a memorable dining experience but only interested in how much money they can make in the night. The waiter staff is not educated in the product. The tres leches cake was dry !! Imagine that! Find another place to make your special moment memorable.

Wow wow wow. This is by far one of the best restaurants in all of Dallas. If you want a dining “experience” this is the place to come. Our waiter, Blake was fantastic and made the night just perfect.

The restaurant was beautiful and romantic. The service was great as well. The food appeared to be fresh but slightly underseasoned. We had reservations for 5pm and in anticipation of a delicious dinner we decided to save our appetite for Dinner. Once we left the restaurant we headed to our friends house but before we could make it we both felt tremendously nauseous. We could barely make it to the house without throwing up. Needless to say we spent 2 day vomiting and sick to the stomach completely ruining our weekend Valentines celebration. Not sure if it was the seafood or lamb chops/steaks. My hubby called the restaurant to alert the manager but they just brushed it off. So not cool.

Service was excellent and so was the food. A little minus because of the loud music luckily not all the time. Restaurant was full because of the Valentines day so there were noise without loud music. Porterhouse steak and sides were best of all time. A have eaten porterhouse two times before. And wines were also perfect. With steak I had Caymus-wine (2016). Im sure that if I had a change I would come back for Nick & Sams Porterhouse steak.

What a selection..hosted a friend for birthday dinner they had anything you could want.. They had Sushi and we started there..salads and steak veggies and you could see the kitchen and you could watch the head chef make sure every detail was to his liking.. The service was outstanding..ask for Jason! The chef came by to greet us and the desserts were fun..great presentation.. Each meal I have had there has been excellent and prior I hosted in their private room 22 for dinner and that too was amazing! You want the best of Texas..go there!!!

We had high expectations from a steakhouse in Texas and it was a terrible disappointment, the meat was evidently pre-cooked because, first of all, they brought it too quickly and also when cutting it, it didn't have any juice, it was a dry meat. I wouldn't go back even if it were free. The place is also very noisy.

Very good service and a very nice wine list. A large choice of steaks including a variety of Wagiu steaks that are sold per ounce. 50 dollars and ounce seems a bit extreme so I settled for a bison filet and it was very good.

The quality of the beef was top notch and worth the price. We were seated immediately...although I felt a little rushed through dinner. I’m sure this was due to the early 6:30 reservations (only time slot available for our group of 6 on a busy Saturday night). The restaurant/ambiance was beautiful although loud. Our steaks and tuna were cooked to perfection however I felt they could use a little more seasoning. My octopus appetizer was very tender and tasty. The sides of mushrooms and lobster Mac-n-cheese were very good. Brussel sprouts were tough. Salads (we tried 3 different ones on the menu) were okay. The quality of the steaks (ribeyes and filets ...all medium rare) were the stars of the show. The rest was just okay.

Fantastic lively experience. Very busy bar area and restaurant but deservedly so. The food is amazing, the waiter was brilliant and very attentive. Nine of us were here taking a mixture of steaks, tuna and sushi and all were fantastic. Would highly recommend this venue

Went there with friends and had the excellent restaurant week menu, great value. The service at the bar where I had dinner was excellent Their caviar service is a very nice touch. Excellent steak

Mother’s Day Brunch was a disaster. Made a reservation for 10 at 1pm but wasn’t seated until 1:38. While waiting for the table, I took my 86 YO mother to find seat in the bar and water dripped on us from the ceiling. Once we finally had a table they only had nine chairs and were missing multiple setups. They advertised that the brunch had prime rib and salmon at the carving station, crab claws and Chilean sea bass, which is why we decided to go to their brunch, but it was a bait and switch. None of those items were available when we were finally seated. The restaurant was over crowded, the service was poor and the remaining food was not what we came for and wasn’t very good. Spoke to a manager that day, followed up during the week. I told him they should be embarrassed by what they provided, it was bait and switch and shameful. I spent over $1600 and asked for a refund and he offered me 50 cents on the dollar if I wouldn’t post a review. This was the second time we had this experience at their brunch and the nonsense needs to stop. Obviously I am posting and a 25 year customer means nothing to them. I would suggest you spend your money at local businesses that value long time customers, honor what they advertise, and provide good customer service and food.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE We experienced the most outrageous behavior from their male host who was so RUDE and who started arguing with us and accused us of being rude when we were so polite and just asked to be reseated because they put us in an overcrowded little kids room. He should be fired immediately. Imagine you go for dinner here and the host tells you you are rude in front of your family and starts yelling at you! COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.

If I could give this a 0 stars, then I would. If I went here recently with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. I was drawn to this restaurant because they have a reputation for fine dining, and I was told that they have intriguing birthday desserts, such as the rainbow cake and the cotton candy. This being said, we were very much looking forward to receiving this, however, the only birthday special we were offered was a "birthday toast." This was a smack in the face, as the table right next to us with a few adults was offered the extravagant cake. They definitely do not treat the younger audience with the same respect and opportunities as the older audience, especially those who appear more wealthy. I do not feel as though the food was worth the price, or service fee, and overall this restaurant was nothing special. I also want to give everyone a heads up that the check can only be split evenly and up to a maximum of 5 times per table, so if you have a larger party, then this is something to consider. Additionally, there are many creeps in there, so it is probably not the best place to bring your children.

Exceeded all of my expectations. A friend and I had reservations for a Monday night at 7:00. The restaurant was mostly full, the atmosphere was upscale, the lights were low and we were seated immediately. We were sat close to the wonderful piano player, entertaining the patrons and were able to see a lot of the hustle and bustle behind the kitchen counter. The first item we ordered were Martinis, The Barbie and the Cotton Candy. The presentation on both martinis was fun and the drinks themselves were sweet and delicious. Next we enjoyed the Caviar Sample Plate and Park Cities Sushi Roll. The sushi was extremely fresh, the shrimp was crispy and all of the sauces were well proportioned. The caviar and crackers were fishy, salty, and moist, accompanied with crunchy crackers to enjoy the multiple flavors. Our main meal (we shared the steak) was a 26oz Porterhouse, cooked to a beautiful red/pink medium rare. The steak is cut for you at the table and served hot and fresh. Our sides were the au gratin potatoes and the brussels sprouts. The Potatoes were creamy, cheesy and warm, the brussels sprouts were just the right consistency of roasted yet faintly soft, the pieces of pork belly and the chili sauce were wonderful. We ended our amazing dinner with the 7 layer Celebration Cake and of course added the Cotton Candy! I do not have a single complaint nor would I change a thing. The service was top notch. Absolutely treat yourself to a meal at Nick and Sam's.

the décor was amazing, service was impeccable but the food was just okay. When we arrived we were seated quickly and the noise level was manageable, however by the time we left the restaurant was so loud we couldn't hear the people across the table. The food was ok, amazing to look at but nothing spectacular about the taste.

Th menu was over 6 pages long. Everything we ordered was amazing. The octopus and tuna are the best we have ever had. The steak was delicious. The strawberry cake is super good but sweet. It’s also way too big for one couple to share - unrealistic for one person. Sides are huge. Definitely a lot to eat. Everyone was very friendly. The restaurant is dark but that’s by choice. Highly recommend this place. One of the best.

1st visit. It’s loud. The noise level is high. The service is crisp and professional. Food was very good. Steaks and fois gras were delightful. Try the broccoli appetizer!

Wow! I've had the opportunity to eat at some of the finest steakhouses including Harris and Lew Lehr's in San Francisco, Manny's in Minneapolis, Durant's in Phoenix, to name a few. Nick & Sam's left them in the dust. The most impressive selection of meat, fish, appetizers, desserts (did I mention 7-layer cakes), all prepared to perfection and coupled with impeccable service. They even have real Kobe beef available from every region of Japan. This is definitely on our must go again list!

This was my go to steak house. The order was for a med rare chateau breiand. Was disappointed with the burnt chateau breand. They offered to replace the order but the wait wasn’t convenient.

Wow what an experience and exceptional food! Nick & Sams is a must if you are in the Dallas area, food and atmosphere can’t be beat!

We were at Nick and Sam’s about a week ago and they were very busy even on a week day maybe because it was restaurant week. It was very loud and hard to have a conversation. We were excited to come here since we have never been before and heard all the hype but sadly it did not meet our expectations. Especially for the prices. We had a couple of the appetizers and were not impressed. We have definitely had mussels at other places that tasted better. On the bright side the steak was actually pretty good and the drinks were great also. Service was good as well, a hint of condensation sometimes but still good.

A group of us traveled to Dallas for a football game and received a strong recommendations for Nick and Sam’s. We made reservations 2 months ago for a party of 8. The original table they had for us was really for 6 and in a vey tightly jammed dining room. They moved us to the bar area which was so loud we couldn’t even talk with each other without yelling. The service was great with decent food. Doubt I’d go back because the overall dining experience wasn’t enjoyable. With that’s said it’s a beautiful restaurant, excellent decor, friendly staff, and overall great vibe. It’s really too bad our visit wasn’t a better experience, very disappointing.

Made a reservation 2 months before date selected. Arrived a few minutes before scheduled time. Was told to wait at the bar for table to clear and they would “find” us. So crowded, couldn’t get to the bar. Waited another 20-30 minutes (told that long to get back and forth from the front to the bar area). Asked again about an estimated time our table should be ready. Was told, they didn’t know the “ETA”. I reminded them we had already arrived and checked in. They blew us off and told the people behind us togo to the bar for their reservation also. We left! Absolutely the worst customer service, guess we’re stilling waiting for our tables “ETA”!

Not sure where to start. Waiting for 1 hour and twenty minutes with no apology and no one concerned for the wait. No experienced personnel coming by to explain a situation for the delay. One of my sons kept asking and they kept saying oh we are waiting for a table to finish desert. We were a table of seven. There were no spots at the bar. Finally they put us by the kitchen. The noise level with the screaming was ridiculous.all you kept hearing is yes chef and this chef. Banging of plates. Our waiter was very nice and good . Again no apologies for the incredible wait. As far as food goes it was fair at best some steaks were undercooked the lobster came cold and then they forgot the butter for it. The sushi was mixed some very good some not at all. We tried a couple of different waygu steak by the oz and certainly nothing over the top. The person who helped serve the vegetables was hysterical serving actually one piece of broccoli and just put the corn and fries in the middle of the table. It was an atrocious bit of service. I can’t understand how this could be considered such a good restaurant unless the managers were sick as the incompetence of the leadership just wasn’t there. I surely would never go back. Especially with the high prices. So many other top restaurants to try.

My experience at Nick and Sams' was supreme! We were celebrating an anniversary and they made sure to make us feel special. Lightly dimmed, candlelight, upscale restaurant located in Downtown Dallas. It was the embodiment of romance. The service was elite, the food was heavenly, the vibe was dreamy!!! We were offered free champagne and was treated royally! I love this establishment and will definitely be back and refer all of my clients here for their special occasions. K

This was the worst restaurant we have been to in a long time. The place is not high end. It is in fact the lowest “high end steak house” I’ve ever been to. Food is fine. Service from our waiter great. The issue is the place is an absolute zoo! They pride themselves on being the busiest “high end” restaurant in Dallas. Those two don’t go together! This had the feel of a Bennigan's. It was an overbooked nightmare. Literally a zoo. Please avoid. We love Dallas and come often. So many better restaurants. I’m shocked this is considered a top restaurant. Never again!

Love dining here. Great food and service. I wish they were more consistant with maintaining a decent Irish Whiskey choice. Tons of other Scotches, Bourbons but little Irish. Jameson Cast or Red Breast should be standard at this level of a resturant

I’ve been to concerts that were quieter than this place. To spend this kind of money but you can’t talk to anyone at your table is crazy. We were exhausted after eating here. The food was good, but not with this kind of ambiance. We were there for a girls weekend and were sadly disappointed by the noise. We even asked our server if it was always this loud and he said yes it’s always that loud. Thanks but no thanks.

We went with a large group tonight . There were many issues. Given the expense of dining there, one would think these problems would not exist. The following are some of the problems: 1- Every time the door was opened, cold air would rush in. I was in the dining room. I could continually feel the cold air. 2- We were not seated timely. 3- it took 65 minutes before I got my FIRST drink. 4- I never got my second drink . 5- The place is so crowded that one can hardly through the aisles. 6- It is LOUD! The food was good but for the prices in this place , these things should not happen.

It was the first time, but definitely not the last time. My team travels to Dallas regularly - and we visited Nick & Sam’s. Beautiful venue, a well-trained staff, and a talented, creative Chef! We had a memorable evening - the wine list was robust and full-bodied. (Well done Rory in both expertise and presentation!) Oh - and the staff knew that the owner of the Golden Steer, Las Vegas (the number one steakhouse in Sin City) was at our table - but hey, No Pressure, right? 🙃 Well done Nick & Sam’s.

With a party of 6, only 2 people were satisfied with meals. Horrible service, extremely long wait times for food, undercooked steaks when ordered well done, bone ass dry halibut, Kroger quality sushi. The waiter comped some desserts by bringing out a huge platter of desserts, looks to me like they are used to disappointing their customers and trying to make it up to them with dessert. Will never go again and would not recommend to anyone.

We had a reservation at 9:00 PM to celebrate my husband's birthday, and we were really looking forward to the night. When we arrived, they acknowledged his birthday and told us to wait while they prepared our table. That was the last time we felt acknowledged. By 10:20 PM—over an hour later—we were still not seated. No updates, no explanation, just a “thank you for your patience” when we followed up, as if we had any other option. Meanwhile, the lobby gradually cleared out and yet somehow, we were still left waiting. This was supposed to be a special night, and it was completely soured by the disorganized and dismissive service. There’s simply no excuse for making guests with reservations wait over an hour with zero communication. We won’t be returning, and we absolutely do not recommend Nick & Sam’s.

Came here with friends and really enjoyed the sybaritic experience. Good place to connect with friends or go for a date. Didn’t eat here yet but drinks and desert are top drawer. Will be going back soon.

... and this was in the top 3. Let's start with the service... our waiter Shawn was on point for anything we needed. Great menu guidance, friendly and engaging, professional. The setting was vibrant but not raucous, and the live pianist added a great touch. The menu was varied and inventive, while keeping the classics. I didn't understand why there was sushi, but OK....!!?? We started with the best crab cake I've ever had, and a spectacular wedge salad. We shared the excellent porterhouse, which was done perfectly, 3 dipping sauces, broccolini, roasted Brussel sprouts, and onion rings... and since we were only 2 people, Shawn offered to bring out 1/2 orders of the sides so we could try more tastes. If we weren't so stuffed, we would have indulged in one or 2 of the choices from the great dessert menu, but we couldn't. Overall, an excellent meal, great service and an enjoyable setting. We couldn't have asked for better. This set the bar very high for the next steak restaurant I visit! 5 Stars!

Although the cost is high, the food and service are definitely worth it. This restaurant is a little more formal than the other one on Preston, but it’s definitely a great place to dress well and be treated accordingly, but saying that it doesn’t seem snobby!

Had a 8:30 pm reservation and arrived at 8:15 to a very packed lobby and entire restaurant area. We were told they were running at least 30 minutes behind. Surprisingly I was able to get 2 cocktails quickly. We were seated fashionably late by a wonderful hostess at a great table. Barbara was our server. She was quite attentive and friendly and did a superb job! The food was excellent. Overall everything was great despite the large crowds.

We had a great dinner at Sam Kendall’s with our 4 year old. Our waitress, Sarah, was wonderful and very accommodating. The food was delicious!

Reserved for our anniversary dinner. Started to read the recent reviews and became worried about the choice. The experience was WONDERFUL!! Yes, if you prefer the dimly lit, quiet steakhouse with little dining sections, this is not for you. This is a large dining room with couples, families and friends enjoying a dinner, so it is not quiet, but not to the point of being annoying. The food was the best!! We started with the Fried Dumplings at the bar as we arrived 30 minutes early and waited for our table. The dumplings were okay, but the bar tender receommended we try the Bang Bang Brocolli. That dish was very tasty. Highly recommend. The drinks were also well made. We then were led to our table about 15 minutes before our reservation time. We continued with our brocolli dish and ordered our steaks, the filets. The steaks were perfection, probably the best I have ever had. They are 10 oz and sometimes hard to get the centers right when ordering medium-rare, these were perfect. The wedge salad was also very well prepared. The service was very, very attentive. Everybody was aware it was our anniversary and the manager, waitress, and other servers always greeted us with a Happy Anniversary. I did see how they celebrate birthdays at other tables and very festive. We will definitely be back even though it is a 40 minute drive for us. Do not miss this experience, Nick and Sams is well worth it.

I recently traveled through Dallas to visit my daughter. As I live in a small town in Central Florida I rarely have the opportunity for fine dining both from a pocketbook standpoint as well as accessibility. My daughter and her boyfriend surprised me by taking me to Nick and Sam’s for dinner. They are both in the service industry and knew this place had been highly recommended. From start to finish I can honestly say that I have never had a more enjoyable dining experience. The food itself was over the top amazing, but it would not have been the “Premier” experience that it was if it had not been for EJ and the positivity, knowledge, professionalism and caring he brought to the overall experience. I hold the position of “Customer Experience Specialist” in my field of industry, and so I often catch myself people watching during my day to day encounters. Always trying to learn and grow from others. I was so impressed by EJ and the genuine warmth and caring he brought to our interaction that I can’t wait to get back to work and incorporate what I experienced into the training and development of our employees and our overall customer experience. If you are ever in Dallas, I highly recommend this restaurant, and be sure to ask for EJ.

Went on a Business dinner, definitely the best steakhouse I have been in by far, ambiance, attention, service, and the food was to die for, 16 oz Aged Rib Eye, OMG, and save space for the carrot cake. A must when visiting Dallas

Upscale steak house in trendy Dallas area . Busy and full of beautiful people where the bar scene is as good as the food. Mix of tourist and locals expensive and yes ..expect a wait even with reservations . The caviar pre meal is a wonderful touch and the steaks are cooked to perfection . Time honored establishment definitely worth a try

This is probably one of the WORST experiences I've ever encountered at a restaurant! I made reservations for 11 people, 2 weeks prior to my birthday - I specifically asked to be seated in the bar area but with lowering seating, due to someone in my party needing lower seating for medical reasons! The day before we arrived, the manager called to confirm that we were still coming and to confirm the special request for seating, we hung up and everything was great!!. We arrived to the restaurant, most of my party were there and the hostess told me it'll only be a few minutes, as they were getting the area ready. I then asked (confirmed) that we were in the bar area with lower seating as requested, she then pointed to an area in the bar high top tables and chairs. I told her that we wouldn't be able to sit there because of the chairs being too high. She then said that she would call her manager to assist me. After about 10 minutes, the manager (lady with thin blonde hair) came to me very abruptly, saying "sorry, I can't accommodate you in the bar tonight!!" Never introduced herself or anything, that's exactly how she approached me and with her demeanor, I knew at that moment, she wasn't going to TRY to accommodate us! I explained to her the situation and how I confirmed my request prior to arriving. She told me that a "friend" of the owner called that day and made reservations and specifically requested the area that they had reserved for me! She told me "we value them as customers and they are priority, they've been coming here for over 20 years" HUGE slap in my face right?? Since my request was due to medical reasons, I asked if she could just switch us around, and give us the lower seats and give the "VIP" guests the higher tables? She told that she couldn't do that. She offered the put us in the normal restaurant area, where it's fairly quiet and there's no music, I declined that offer as that's not the ambiance that I wanted to celebrate my birthday in! She then said "ma'am you're being unreasonable" and turned and WALKED AWAY!! I was soo upset and embarrassed because my entire dinner party were already there. I walked outside to only see a bunch of young adults (late teens, early 20's) pull up in a stretch limo... those were the "friends" of the owner, who I'm assuming have been coming since they were newborns since she said "for over 20 years" because they were all really young.... less than 2 minutes later I get a email saying "your reservation has been canceled!" But I never cancelled it! We ended up going to another Steakhouse in the area and had a blast!! My first experience at Nick and Sam's was good, and the bar's ambiance was my favorite, that's why I decided to go back and celebrate my birthday!! But after this experience, and them humiliating ruining the start of my birthday celebration, I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone anymore!!!!

What an amazing experience! From valet to dessert, each part is meticulously designed for you to leave wanting more. Cocktails were wonderful and so fun! First time ever having Oysters Rockefeller and I’ll be back for that. The steak presentation was very cool. Sides are a la carte and enough to share. Be sure to get the rainbow cake!

Very hip and cool vibe in this very buzy hot spot. We had dinner but the bar area also looked like a great place to hang out...It was very loud and also dark but where else can you get caviar and cotton candy at the same place!

One of the most courteous staff encountered at a restaurant in years combined with a fantastic atmosphere and the best food in the city!!!

Best steak I have ever tasted any where in the world. This place was rollicking, would pay to book in advance. Food was stupidly good. Wait time for a busy restaurant were excellent. Initially we were overlooked but once that was rectified i could not fault anything in this restaurant. A must visit

After the Jaguars and cowboys game we decided to have dinner at this restaurant nick and sam’s at first we had a slight delay sitting at the table even though we had reservations due to overbooking and waited for 23 minutes before we got to our table first I ordered the Spanish octopus but they were out of it so I ordered calamari instead and tasted amazing the we got to order our man courses What I got is the snow beef and tasted good but I was going to get the Kobe but it was expensive so I ordered snow beef instead. Overall the restaurant is good but Noisy.

This is the best steakhouse in the Dallas metro. You’re wasting your time going anywhere else. The service is incredible, the food is amazing, and the ambience is top-notch. Do yourself a favor and make sure you visit Nick and Sam’s.

I am going to sound like such an old man, but this restaurant is dark. Literally. They use a flashlight for you to check if your steak is cooked correctly. With that said, the steak was cooked to pure perfection!

I submitted the following complaint to Nick and Sam's website over a month ago, and NEVER heard back from them, which is not surprising after what I have already experienced with this restaurant and their lack of customer service. I would like to draw attention to, and speak to someone about, the unacceptable customer service provided by Nick and Sam's steakhouse in Uptown this past Saturday, January 30th 2021. I made a reservation for a party of 7 on 1/19/21 for 1/30/21 to celebrate a friend's birthday. The reservation was under (retracted.) We had friends coming in from out of town and planned our entire weekend around this reservation. None of us had ever been to Nick and Sam's, and we were incredibly excited about the birthday experience we've seen all over social media. I called Nick and Sam's Uptown at 1:49 PM on Saturday 1/30 to confirm if we needed to pre-order a slice of the birthday cake, or if we could order at the restaurant. There was no answer, which I assumed was because the restaurant does not open until 4:00. I received a call from Nick and Sam's at 2:56 PM, which I missed because I was on another call. At 3:09 PM I called the restaurant back, which is when they informed me that our reservation was being cancelled. They said that someone from the CDC had visited their restaurant the night before, told them they were over capacity, and that they needed to adhere to the CDC guidelines of 50% capacity. I would like to first point out the error of not following CDC guidelines, this error being completely on the restaurant itself. I asked how they had chosen which reservations needed to be cancelled, informed them that our entire birthday weekend plans had been made around this reservation, and was told there was "nothing they can do." If the CDC had visited Friday night, 1/29, I should have been given a call on Friday to inform me of the issue, and there should have been a contingency plan in place. Instead I wasn't given a call until roughly 3 PM, a few hours before my reservation, which left us little to no time to make other plans, especially on a Saturday night given the pandemic environment. I asked whoever I spoke to if they would call the other Nick and Sam's location and that we should be given priority seating there due to the restaurant's error. The woman on the phone told me should would give them a call, and call me back as soon as she had an answer. I NEVER received a call back. I took matters into my own hands and called the other location myself. By the luck of my timing, the Nick and Sam's Grill on Preston had a cancellation and could get my party in at 8:00 PM. Nick and Sam's Uptown NEVER called me back to confirm anything. If I hadn't called the Grill on my own, we would have been left without a reservation. Not only were the errors of Nick and Sam's Uptown incredibly unprofessional, but the lack of trying to make up for their mistake and unresponsive communication was completely unacceptable. We were very thankful for Nick and Sam's Grill squeezing us in at the last minute, only because I called them on my own, however the experience was nowhere near the same upscale and exciting experience we had been planning for. The Grill is a much more casual atmosphere, and we were charged for 100% of the meal, including the birthday dessert. I have never experienced such a lack of customer service as I did from Nick and Sam's Uptown. Is truly unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber, popularity, and price tag. I wanted to give the restaurant the opportunity to speak to me directly, rather than taking to reviews and social media to complain about this experience. I gave them that opportunity, and they did not take it. To this day, they have NEVER gotten back to me. Others deserve to know the kind of place this is.

Steak was wonderful, pork chop tough, service not up to par-high $$$ for total experience, birthday celebration and sprinkles on table that was it! No dessert, or special appetizer- very very noisy; piano player visually present could not hear a note. Was our first visit and our last.

Service, food, atmosphere ALL on point, but one thing really disappointed me - my water glass and an appetizer plate were chipped, looked awful - something that you do not expect in a high end steak house

Visiting for a conference, my wife and I went to Nick & Sams for an early 10 year wedding anniversary dinner. We reserved a table online and got their early to enjoy some drinks. The bar area was pretty packed and loud however the drink service was fast. As we waited for our table, staff checked on us and offered up complimentary hor d'oeuvres consisting of caviar on toasted bread with sides. We were seated about 5 minutes before our reservation time and sat near the piano. Our waiter EJ was GREAT! The table was decorated with rose petals in the shape of a heart and we were given complimentary champagne. EJ took the time to share their robust steak selection and was attentive all night. The deviled eggs (minus the fried chicken skin--not crispy), foie gras, hokkaido that we cooked on a hot rock, and duck duck/lobster mac n cheese was great. The only reason we did not give it a 5 star was because the piano music competes with the bar club music and takes away from the moment. Other than that, this place was great!

I came to Nick & Sam’s as part of a business dinner... and it was packed! I hadn’t been to Dallas in years, but I hear this place is THE go-to in the Big D and that it’s hopping every night of the week. One side looked to be all tightly packed tables (how did the servers make their way around?) and the other side looked to be a club scene. Our table was near the open kitchen and it was like a dance! The food was incredible and the sides were incredible.

So I ate here Sunday 10-11-21 for my Birthday. 1st waitress horrible service 2nd I had the Halibut it was so over cooked that it was like leather. How can anyone be a chef and destroy fish? I told the waitress the fish was horrible her reply was oh that's to bad. Then the waitress upsold the beef wellington it came out raw and had to be sent back. I like great meals and have no issue spending the money this place is not worth the $$$$. Go to Bob's or Del Frisco's or Capital grill anywhere but Nick & Sams save yourself the nightmare.

I watched as men slipped hundred dollar bills to the young women( all women and all young) at the host stand. The women would gingerly place the money down, smile at the man and magically the men would be sat in front of the large amount of people waiting patiently to eat on the list. This happened twice in a matter of 15 min while I was watching, so you can imagine it must be commonplace at Nick and Sam’s. I asked Enoch, the GM if he thought it was right that the hostesses palms are greased and certain patrons get sat before others on the list patiently waiting . He said, “yes if people are going to take care of “my ladies” then “Yeh I am going to take care of them.” I asked why he was referring to the employees as “my ladies” explaining he doesn’t own them. He then repeated yes “those are my ladies,” continuing to say that those customers that treat “his ladies” good(slipping money) get priority over others in line waiting fairly as they should. I explained to him that lots of people have worked really hard, maybe even saving up to have dinner at this establishment and they shouldn’t have to wait an extra hour because people come off the street greasing the host stand palms. He began to get upset with me and asked me to leave the restaurant. The experience was really slimy and seemed so unjust. I have eaten there before and to be honest it is super loud., overly crowded, people literally right on top of you when you eat. The food is decent but not exceptional. There are many welcoming steakhouses in Dallas that are much better food wise and ambience with less pay to play patronage. I will NEVER again support and establishment with with culture. It’s a hopping place but lacking ethics. I guess it depends what type of experience is going Iike.

We had a business dinner with a party of 12 with reservation. This group was seated at a table that comfortably takes 8, is acceptable for 10 and felt like low-cost economy for 12. We were sitting in a crowded pretty dark cave with a hell of noise topped up by a piano player (poor guy). Service was of mixed quality at best, I had to get up myself to get my drink from the bar because the waiter simply forgot and did not return. They pride themselves to show you the beef you order, yes they do, but due to the noise and size of the table 2/12 got the message. It took forever to bring the starters and the bread you would normally get with them came with the mains. Waiting for espresso for 30 minutes was another issue. Food: was my Steak good? Yes. Outstanding? No. Worth about 100$ with sides? Certainly not. Seems their marketing works and their prices do the rest - if you pay out of your pocket you must fool yourself and conclude you had a great evening and everything was fine. Otherwise you may feel stupid because you realize that you have just been ripped of.

Classic darkly lit dining room. You can get A5 Kobe or a whole 8lb king crab here if you have the coin. Great service is for everyone. Pastrami RibEye is a masterpiece to behold if you find it on menu the night that you dine.

Major disappointment from the past. RibEye was ok. Service ok. Bar has turned into a loud hip hop scene with loud music for the pick up scene. Cops everywhere. Rough looking crowd. Sad we could not go into bar for a drink. Sad cops had to b there. Have been going here for over 16 years. Will never return

The food and service were excellent but I don’t think I’ll return any time soon. The restaurant was incredibly noisy and the tables were crammed in… so close that several times my chair was hit from behind and I almost faceplanted into my meal. Not what you expect at a high end restaurant like this. They are money grabbing by seating so many guests at the same time. It’s a shame, I’ve had many a wonderful dinner here but who wants to be shouting at a fancy dinner?

Cannot begin to say how much we enjoyed our meal, our service, the ambience, all in all! The maître d’ was amazing. Our reservation was delayed a bit , he copped a drink for us and then we were served at a wonderful table. Service was great, food was awesome! We are visiting from Tucson, cannot begin to say what a wonderful experience this was. Highly recommend it!!

We went to Nick and Sam's with a party of 5 for my adult daughter's birthday. Lovely room and electric ambiance- unfortunately it was so loud we could not have a conversation and had to shout at each other. Our waitress was enthusiastic in her presentation of the cuts of meat, but after that lost all interest. Service was SLOW and inattentive- went without refills for half hour stretches, bread came after the entrees, etc. Our meal took 3 hours- the table behind us turned twice while we were there- and that was their pace, not ours. I got the distinct impression that since we were not regulars the wait staff was not interested in us. The food- while generous in portion- was uniformly bland and unremarkable. the mint sauce with the lamb was the highlight of the meal. All in all I was disappointed - the restaurant and the experience did not live up to their reputation!

The evening was a total disaster. With a stellar recommendation from my daughter who ate there four times previously, we decided to go during Restaurant Week. Rather than pay for valet parking, we found parking three blocks away. Our reservation was for 7:30 p.m. There were so many people waiting for their tables, that we actually had to stand while we waited for our table. We were seated an hour later and only after a group that had a later reservation were seated before us. Inquiries as to when our table would be ready were continually met with the answer that tables were being cleared right then. We were finally seated in a back room with a divider next to our table separating our dining area from a group area. Another 20 minutes went by before we met our server. By this time we were ready to leave for a great nearby Mexican restaurant. It was another 20 minutes before our order was taken, and at least 30 minutes before we received any of our food. Meanwhile we had to listen to the waiter's take on the paintings we couldn't even see in the main dining room which were available for sale. Three members of our party ordered from the Restaurant Week menu and one from the regular menu. We arrived wanting the fillet mignon which was one of the Restaurant Week choices only to find out ribeye was substituted. It only got worse once the food arrived. The spicy tuna sushi was bland; the ribeye was fatty; the corn and shrimp bisque was lacking any recognizable signs of shrimp; the wedge salad had the wrong dressing; and the pizzaiola sauce over the ribeye was awful. Desserts of chocolate pudding sundae and warm butter cake were for the table, not individual persons. It's pretty sad when the best part of the meal was the French fries. We definitely will not be returning.

I have been coming here with my family for years! It never looses it’s cool/sceney vibe and the food honestly gets better and better. Best dirty martini in Dallas!!

My groomsmen and I went to Nick and Sams while in Dallas for the Arkansas Baseball games. We had a party of 8 and had to make a special reservation. That process was easy and painless. We arrived at the restaurant on time and were seated within a couple of minutes. The only real complaint for the entire dining experience is the table choice. All 8 of us were sat at a table that may have sat 6 comfortably. We were given no other options for tables and had to sit here near the corner of the room. Servers and other guest kept having to squeeze by the entire night and it was quite annoying. I have been to Nick and Sams on other occasions and knew what to expect when it came to the atmosphere. It is lively at night and can sometimes be hard to hear. We all got drinks and appetizers fairly quick. We shared a few sides and each had our own meal. Everything concerning the food was great. The king crab elote is stellar. My ribeye was cooked perfect and the drinks were very good. Will be back for special occasions, but not with a group over 4. It gets too crowded.

Soooo...we showed up a few moments late but our table was ready and waiting. The wait staff was attentive and gracious. The artwork was great and the piano player harkened back to the good old days. Jackson was our waiter and was so nice. Drinks arrived quickly and refills arrived without asking. We ordered the Fois Gras which was savory and sweet and succulent. My husband chose this restaurant specifically because he could order legit Kobe beef. They did not disappoint. We ordered the steak sampler and each bite was more indulgent than the next. Buttery soft! The cream corn and cranberry salad were wonderful accompaniments. We were surprised with a baked s’more Alaska dessert. What a wonderful end to a very decadent dinner. The only issue was when our steak dinner was being delivered, the waiter’s help spilled the bread plates and butter dish all over the floor. They didn’t clean it right away and waited until we were almost ready to leave before they did. The valet’s were very quick to order a car and it arrived within moments. We would have have given 5 stars if it had not been for the spillage on the floor and the time it took to clean it up. Otherwise, we loved every moment, bite and morsel. If/when we are ever in Dallas, we will definitely be back.

Bad experience: One hour to be seated, 15 minutes for the waiter to take our drink order and did not ask every person except he screamed out if anyone wants a drink!!!!also it is so loud that it is impossible to hear the people across the table. The steak was dry and had no taste.

Love Nick & Sams. Great ambiance, awesome steaks and sides, very nice wine list. Great for business or a romantic night for 2. Wait staff is super attentive and knowledgeable. Your waiter will bring out a plate of steaks and explain each cut of meat...nice touch. If you don’t want to go into the main restaurant, there’s a full service bar as you walk in you can hang out at. Perfect for having a cocktail, beer or glass of wine before your party gets there. Parking is valet unless you find some street parking — which you can. N&S isn’t a place to go if you’re dining on a budget. Steaks are not cheap and everything is a la carte, but the food is excellent so it’s worth the splurge.

If you are a couple or family only go on Saturday or Sunday. Weeknights are hectic with businessmen. Actually beyond hectic. Also ask for a booth in case it’s busy. Food very good - also pricey- so check out menu prices before you go. Cole was our server. Great service.

This is really a cool place . . . but bring a fat wallet. The wine list is great. The menu is extensive. But boy, is it expensive. I knew it was going to be pricey when the waiter recommended appetizers at $65 per person - we picked a few things ourselves - all outstanding. Did I mention the steak . . . it was really good. And the service was absolutely the best.

We were in town visiting family for holiday. The local family had always wanted to try this well known Dallas steakhouse. The atmosphere is somewhat Art Deco or such, but table seating is comfortable and they are social distancing. The steaks ordered and sides were all good and large servings; the sides are shared. They offer many appetizer choices , many of which are very pricey seafood items. They also offer special steaks not listed which are Japanese beef and others- all of which are priced extra high. As it was, the ordered food is priced near the highest end of any fine steakhouse I’ve ever been to. What really surprised me was the wine menu. It is extensive but the price per bottle averages almost 4 times retail. This is much higher than a typical restaurant charges. The service was good. They do have valet parking. Again the food quality is good. They really cater to the elite patrons.

This was probably my last trip to Nick & Sam's. Its extremely unfortunate that I brought a client of mine to dine at Nick & Sam's last night and we both received one of the worst dining experiences we have had. My clients and I have pretty high expectations and standards when it comes to business dinners/meetings and were assured that Nick & Sam's is a premier dining destination. I should have done more research as this was FAR from the case last night. I had a reservation at 8:30 for dinner to which we were sat under a very large chandelier, which was pretty much the only real lighting in the dining room, and our table, as well as my client and I, were lit up as though we had a spot light on them. From an ambiance stand point, a TOTAL miss. It was odd and uncomfortable. Our waiter was flustered and made us feel as though we were just another job for him. No character, just blah and non attentive. We had to flag other waiters for our drinks, to which our empty drinks were left on the table. Also, we had to ask for bread plates for the bread, as well as a butter knife, and additional plates to share our apps. We rarely saw our waiter except for when he was helping other tables. Unfortunately, that is not the worst part. EVERY SINGLE DISH WAS ICE COLD. My steak was so cold it did not melt the truffle butter on top. The food was unacceptable and not edible. The manager came by and asked if I wanted anything else to which I said no. My client meeting had all but been ruined. Additionally, he seemed annoyed with me which only added to my distaste for this restaurant. Owning a large development company as well as other ventures, I had really hoped to find a home to entertain and host my clients and friends; however, the lack of professionalism, dismal quality of food, and poor service has all but ensured that I will not be back, nor will I recommend to any of my business partners and friends.

4 of us went to the restaurant prior to a show and we not overly impressed. The steaks were average in flavor but expensive. We had drinks, salads and main courses for all four of us. All but one had a steak. The general consensus was that we had had much better tasting steaks at other restaurants in Dallas such as Bob’s and Three Forks. The restaurant seems to be a hangout for the “rich and famous” which might align with the prices which were inflated. The side dishes were OK, but again nothing special. The service was good, but not exceptional. The interiors of the restaurant is interesting but dark making reading the menu difficult. Also once there is a fairly full crowd it is somewhat difficult to hear. The four of us said that we do not see any reason we would return.

Whilst they have a great menu, they have walking.menus in the waiters. They reel off what is on offer, with aplomb. They will show you the selection of steak a seafood on offer. The portions were large and the sides were enough for 4 people but the steak melted in your mouth. The restaurant was very busy. I am disabled and found it easy to manoeuvre around the tables, staff were a delight very helpful and service was excellent. Well worth a visit⁷

First the price point is high. This is not a problem to me if it was worth it. Had a “prime steak” which was ok but not superb. Not worth it. The rest of the meal was good. Very good salads, sides were nice but Not amazing. The service was spectacular. My problem: The place has stuffed in as many tables as can fit in a small space. Clearly a party place. It was so loud we literally couldn’t hear the waitress when she was talking to us at our table. She had to bend over the table and talk To each person. With drinks and shared sides and deserts it’s a minimum of $100 per person. I’ve spent that before but the noise is what bothered me. I don’t think I’ll return.

I stopped in while traveling and was impressed. JOEL was our waiter and he was superb. I expected another steakhouse but it is much much more. Rarely is sushi this good at a steakhouse. The bone in filet was outstanding and prepared perfectly. The sides are huge, wine selection great and desserts were excellent. JOEL was on point with all suggestions and made the evening fun as well. I will be returning whenever I am in town. It is nice to find a local not chain steakhouse which has such incredible variety. Well done.

Absolutely no place for business! Spending $1000s here does not mean you are treated well. Steaks were brought out to my table of 12 except for me. After 10min with no apology nor update, I find Manager Rory Jenkins only to be lectured that I put in a late order, although I was the first to be seated. He conceded they gave my steak to someone else. No comp side or glass of wine to tide me over. After another 10 min, I found GM Enoc Soltani, who was no help either. Eventually, my steak is delivered by that same Manager. It was overcooked! He begins to question me and then just walks away. I felt like a bride getting her wedding cake delivered after the honeymoon with the message “be happy you got one.” I handed the steak back to him as my table was clearing at that moment. I called both managers near closing to discuss a charge for my no-show steak, but neither called me back. What a sh&& show. These managers have no business being customer facing. Don’t lose clients…go elsewhere!!

Everything about this restaurant was great. Our server was very personable and helpful ordering We had one night and wanted steak in Dallas and trust me this is where to go. Steak was the best I've had and worth it. Our server even whipped us up a lighted cotton candy dessert. It came highly recommended to us by my sons friend that lived there. Don't miss this place in Dallas !

Fantastic steak, sashimi, and cocktails. Dominick at the front was so friendly - even though the restaurant was full he found us a great table. He came over later to tell us about some late night spots we might be interested in. Good music- not too loud. The place had a great vibe. Someone famous came in and our waitress forgot we existed but we laughed it off- that’s just one of those things that can happen - not indicative of their usual service I’m sure.

Ate here one night with my adult daughters while visiting Dallas. Best meal and atmosphere our entire visit! Bartenders were great for a pre dinner cocktail. The restaurant was great and had wonderful energy!!!! We had so much fun watching all the celebrations and fun desserts coming out. Our waiter nailed it and was very attentive Great service all around! If I ever come back to Dallas this will be my go to restaurant! Thanks for a wonderful and special evening!! We went to Al Biernet's the next night and totally regretted it! It was a disaster!

Reserved a table for an important business meeting. Waited 40 minutes being told ‘just 5 minutes’ . Eventually left without being served. Very disappointing.

The service is unbelievable.... I can see it getting loud later in the evening but we went early and it was fine... it does get busy almost everyday so should make a reservation. Steaks are great and lots of other options. Not crazy about the cakes but cotton candy was fun for the kids

So let me start by saying we are huge foodies and are fortunate enough to travel the world and experience various high end restaurants. It takes a lot to exceed my expectations and Nick and Sam’s did just that. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and they went all all out! The service, the food, the ambiance and the overall vibe could not have been better! They had a piano player that really set the mood. The rainbow cake and cotton candy were the perfect way to celebrate! This is one of my new fave place in the world to dine and we plan on coming back to visit as often as we can get back to Dallas! Don’t hesitate to dine here, it’s simply the best!

This is my first review of a "restaurant" in which I did not get anything to eat. Because unfortunately we as a group (scientists) were not even brought to a table. We were pushed into a psychedelically lit hallway for almost 40 min while we had arrived on time, had a "guaranteed" table reservation, and were put off for 5 minutes at a time. In the end, there was no point in staying. A hyped scene restaurant probably. Very disappointed. Better visit the neighboring Good Graces. It's about 30 dB quieter there and there are tables.

Food was good. But not great, or even very good. At the prices they charge, and in an area known for great steakhouses, this place was really a disappointment. Menu was good, but room was very loud. Food was very on the peppery side, and for the most part, just nothing special. Drinks were good, but also over-priced. Service was very good and very friendly, so that helped make up for it. Nick and Sam’s wasn’t bad, but was far from great. And at the prices they charge, there are to many options in the area that are great. I don’t regret going, but wouldn’t bother going back.

Dinner was AWESOME! Tomahawk Steak was cooked perfectly! Bacon and Eggs appetizer( Candied Bacon with Salmon Caviar)was tasty and different! Would definitely go there again!

The service and the staff was extremely rude … i had my birthday dinner set up for November 1st at 8:30 and i was on time with my party …. We didn’t get sat down until 9:35pm we waited a hour and it was no room where was seated .. also while waiting it was a empty table near the bar area where i asked can we just sit there because i was on a time limit .. after nick and Sam’s i had other reservations at a lounge at 11pm for a table i paid for and i wasn’t able to get my table at the other place because we left nick and Sam’s at 10:50pm .. the staff was real short and rude to us .. we kept getting bumped … the host in the front was also rude and no one accommodating .. it’s like we were skipped over because we where black females my whole party felt unwanted and not accepted in the restaurant . The waiter did not explain the specials or what happens for birthdays .. i came because i saw the cotton candy and nice birthday gestures and i heard the food was good . While standing up at the bar we was harassed by this drunk guy i told the hostess and they did nothing he was spilling liquor on us and saying stuff like “you guys are one those , you don’t belong here “ the experience was horrible and when i told the staff they just laughed

Birthday celebration. Everything was over to top. Start with the impressive line up of menu items and showcase of entrees. Our waiter was great a recommendation of broccoli as a side vs an appetizer. Salads huge, steaks you deal up as high as your budget could go and know they will be prepared perfectly. Desserts, it was a birthday and the celebration cake was over the top. All enjoyed but it’s a lot of fun and a lot of service.
Great Steaks and Ambiance.... Dessert Service is Tacky
Nick and Sam's was one of my favorite steakhouses in the US. Most recent visit: - Place was packed, tables squeezed together, not a mask in sight. Ironic considering many of the businesses I planned to visit in the Dallas area were closed for last three weeks due to the Covid-19 surge. Just sayin a bit of pandemic care/caution wouldn't hurt. - Food: salads were OK, steaks were great, snapper dish so/so. Overall not remarkable. - They have a great wine list, and they make a big point to have outrageous decanters and wine service. The issue is it seemed like every person getting dessert had sparklers in their dishes. This literally created a haze in the main dining room and all you could smell was sparkler smoke. Do N&S's customer's who might be shelling out $100's or more for a bottle of wine want this smell to accompany their food and wine? - Ambiance: I love a good celebration, but between the sparklers, 2' tall cotton candy displays and LED lit huge balloons at tables....everywhere, we felt like we were at a carnival, not a world class steak house...tacky.
