Good Tex Mex near downtown with a good atmosphere even on a Thursday evening. Cocktails and fajitas were outstanding and the portions generous. Left with a very full belly! Just a shame service wasn’t more attentive.

We had a wonderful dinner experience. The food was great and plentiful. I had the taco platter and my wife had enchiladas. Service was friendly and fast. Will eat there again next time we are in south Houston.

A friend from Houston took us here for dinner, and what a dinner it was. The meats were terrific, flavors full and piquant. All the sides were excellent as well. Cold beer, great service, good times. Recommended.

I took my food to go. Did an overnight in Houston and Holiday Inn recommended Ninfas. Omg awesome food. Servers and cook were super nice. When in town I will be back. I had the Carnitas Platter with side if corn tortillas. Yum. So fresh and flavorful. Even their house salad was amazing. I ate so fast I forgot to post a pic! Ninfas is a great place to eat...fresh authentic TexMex!

Some food selections should never change on a menu. This is true at Ninfa‘s when it comes to the tacos Moosey course. The roasted pork blended with peppers and onions and wrap with homemade corn tortillas is making my mouth water now. The traditional beef and chicken fajitas were prepared to order. The rice and refried beans had amazing taste. The Tres leches and the banana empanada we’re also a great close to a meal. The salsas could use a re-do.

There is more than one location. We visited the one off Gulf Freeway that is managed by Mr. Perez and his son. It was Mr. Perez himself who made it such a pleasant meal. When we showed some confusion about the way certain dishes were described on the menu, he came to our table and explained their preparation in detail. The chips and empanadas were excellent as were the fish tacos. The best dish we tried was my wife's entrée, the chile relleno which was served on a "fajita skillet" on a bed of perfectly cooked onions. A surprising treat. Mr. Perez watches his staff carefully and helps them succeed, all to the benefit of his guests. My highest recommendation.

Service in this restaurant is below average. To begin with they have very small baskets of chips and very small amounts of salsa. While they will bring more chips and salsa, if asked, it takes awhile. (Assume that they are savings chips and salsa by serving very small portions, the baskets and salsa servings are about 1/3 the size of any other that I have ever been served). The refried beans had been burnt and this was the most prevalent taste. The rest of the food was OK. Everything about this restaurant is not up to par. Would not recommend this location.

In Houston on business and wanted to have Mexican for dinner. Ninfa's was rated well and close to the hotel, so we stopped in. Everything was good. The green and red salsas were good. I had the taco salad and a couple of the Gold Margaritas. We made a good choice, we like this place.

My husband and I had dinner at Ninfa's at the recommendation of the DoubleTree staff. Excellent food, great service, and good drinks. We were there during happy hour and lots of locals eat at this restaurant. Our tab after dinner and several drinks was only $55. Great deal!

There are lot's of places for Mexican in Houston but this "original" was terrific. The constant service attention and suggestions made this a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere, wonderful food and value make this a place to check out.

Ninfa's provided high quality meal. Homemade tortillas were excellent. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. I had the beef lunch fajitas and they were great. Very fresh pico de gallo. We also ordered a side of guacamole which was very fresh and tasty.

Very dissatisfied, the restaurant is not the same as it used to be. Used to be a great place with great food and service, now not the same. The food is very disappointing, the service was blah, they've dropped the ball on that place. No bueno Muy carra para la comida que esta solo "ok" worse shrimp ever!! They should be ashamed to overcook them tiny shrimp, on a cat iron, then placed on a bigger cast iron platter....Really?? So many seeds in the poblano with cheese, who wants to be spitting seeds out after every bite?? Ser ice was just as bad, never again. Good luck if y'all go.

Folks who have lived in Houston for a long time will tell you that Ninfa's (especially the original) is a cornerstone of Tex Mex, citing the fresh tortillas, charro beans, and fajitas. I cannot disagree. My combo meal was fine (love the salsa verde with jalapeno) but I could have gotten it anywhere. Great service and yummy meals but nothing to write home about for me.

We really enjoyed our lunch here yesterday. Great caldo with fresh chicken. I loved the interior decoration! Amazing service too!

I work at Ellington and Hobby airports so Ninfas on I45 and Monroe is a great location for a lunch run. I love the beef fajitas. Chips and salsa are standard. Wait staff is always good to me and the manager is professional and friendly. I would recommend this to friends.

The food was beyond excellence. Everything was picture perfect. I had the chicken fajita and my wife the enchilada carbon. The food was so healthy and tasty . Our waitress, Sujey, frequently checked on how we were doing. She explained the dishes so well too. I am so glad we came here today.

Being in Houston only for a few days I knew I would have to get some great Tex Mex or Mexican food. Wow, did this place not disappoint! Atmosphere was great, service was great, couldn't ask for anything better!

A big group of us went to sample the Texas version of Mexican food and was not disappointed. Folks from New Jersey and Minnesota kept saying it was the best they had ever tasted including in fine restaurants in Mexico~! We loved the atmosphere and the great service and especially the gigantic sized Margaritas served with the appetizers. The guacamole was fantastic and the ribeye mole was so tender it melted in my mouth. And don't miss the flan for dessert--the Kahlua is heavenly.

Great service. Was there 20 minutes before they opened, let me in and served me anyway. Very friendly and helpful waitress. Great Tex mex. Definitely will return. More than enough lunch. $17

We had just arrived from the airport at 7pm and wanted a good Tex-mex place. Ninfa’s DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Great food, service was excellent and it was close to our hotel. I had fajitas and there was plenty of real beef, (not hamburger meat). My (hispanic) wife had flautas and said they were some of the best homemade that she’d ever had. The guacamole was also very fresh and tasty. We highly recommend

We met a family friend at another family friend's restaurant (JR). The food and service (Michael) was excellent. Not too busy so we were not rushed and had a great visit😁Canadian approved🇨🇦

We had a night to stay over before leaving for our cruise. This was close to our hotel so we thought we would try it! Wow! It was good. We had 6 ppl in our party, it wasn't crowded because it was down pouring outside and ppl stayed home. Glad they did because we got great service and really good food! I wish we had one in Kansas!!

It’s rare that we go to Ninfa’s as there are other options closer, Pappasito, Gringo’s. However Ninfa’s is so worth the trip. Really cool ambiance, food and service equal to the best we’ve ever had!!! GO! ENJOY!

We love Mama Ninfa's. The food is always awesome....love the queso. The margaritas are yummy and the service is quick!

I came here for the first time tonight and the food was amazing. We had Louis as our server and he was so attentive and caring. I will definitely come back and as for him and the chimi with chicken!!

I have to start with the red & green sauce - yummy! They have the right blend of spices here - hot but not too hot. Next the Margarita's, worth coming for any time, but try to make it during happy hour if you can. Ninfa's has one of my favorite Margarita's in Houston (every Ninfa's I have visited). We have to order the chili con quest of course - and they have the BEST in town! I order it with a scope of guacamole right dab in the middle - this just can't be beat it is perfectly made with fresh veggies and the right cheese; none of the fake bar or in the jar cheese. On to main course. We have started going with something a little less Mexican Food (Tex-Mex) traditional - the fish dishes. Specifically the tilapia, the fish is cooked perfectly, the sauce is oh so yummy, creamy, and delicious. When we aren't busting the buttons on the jeans (after all of these we usually are), we end the meal with sapodillas. These are good, but well I have never found a bad sapodilla anywhere (so far). This is a great place to go with a friend or a date (and family of course). Would recommend, and WILL be returning!

We went to eat at the Ninfas on the Gulf freeway. We took a friend out who flew in from St. Louis. We bragged all the way over to the restaurant about how good the food was and gave them a little history of the origin of the Mexican food restaurant that mama Ninfa created. What a disappointment we ordered the chimichanga. The three orders were all poorly made cold, greasy and not edible. The Charro beans had maybe 10 beans in them for a tiny cup with just juice. It seem like they had run out and we’re scraping the bottom to serve us those Charro beans. Our rice was dry like it had been out all day and we were served there during a late lunch at 3 PM. The service was good the staff was pleasant but the food was not edible.

After a tough day on Southwest airlines, we were stuck in Houston overnight. We were referred to Ninfas for dinner from the outstanding team at the Marriott courtyard nearby. It was excellent food - local and fresh. Michael was our server and took great care of us. Southwest needs to take a customer service course from him. Would highly recommend as fresh, fast, and good quality food. With outstanding service. The cheese enchiladas were delicious. As well as the fresh tamales. They were making tortillas fresh!

Ate here March 21st at 11:30 am. Excellent service, the ladies that work there are super sweet. I got the Mariscos with slaw on the side, and my dad got the grilled chicken fajitas. The food is outstanding!!! Big, filling portions and amazing flavor. The tomatillo is out of this world. If we’re ever in Houston again, this is a MUST stop and I could not recommend a place more. The only downside is the price, but you’re definitely paying for good quality. ¡Muy deliciosa!

There was met with an unpleasant odor as soon as I walked through the door that made me want to immediately turn around but it was my friend's birthday weekend and it was the only place open close to the hotel and near hobby airport at the time. I LOVE margaritas but after a few sips . . . I just couldn't any more! I couldn't bring myself to order but my friend insisted we share the shrimp enchiladas. The teeny weeny shrimp taste bagged and frozen. We didn't finish that either.

Great bar, a lot of energy, food was very good and authentic. We ate in back area of restaurant, bar at front entrance, and there may have been a sewer problem as there was an odor in this area. Not overwhelming, but not pleasant. Service was good.

Excellent guacamole. Also the Watermelon aqua. I ordered one chicken taco & it arrived on a platter with generous portions of beans, rice, salsa, & more guacamole. Great ambiance - the building is beautiful. Valet parking was greatly appreciated in the July heat.

My wife and I ordered the Fajitas Family Style for 2 and we were impressed by the tender quality of the chicken. You can mix and match meat and tortillas if some in your party want corn or flower type. The guacamole is freshly made and we loved this with our chips and salsa. Our server was Mercedes and she kept the table well served. She even made fresh coffee for me when we ordered dessert. The only exception was that our black beans were very bland and we needed to add salsa and black pepper to season it.

Went there with a friend for dinner. Had been there before and know the food is very good. Food was, as my past visits, very good. It seems the portions are getting smaller each time I go. Maybe it's just me but what I typically order leaves me stuffed and this last visit I almost ordered another round of food?? The service was average. I usually sit at the bar because I am alone. This time we sat at a table and I will probably sit at the bar next time. The service was below average and it seemed like we were being rushed. We went to talk, have a few drinks and eat. As soon as we sat down we were approached to order, we asked for a few minutes and apparently we should have asked specifically for how many minutes, because 90 seconds later, we were asked again. The menus have not even been open yet. We asked for a drink and a few more minutes. Read and repeat. To be clear, I rated the food average, not because of quality or taste, because of portion size. Very unlike what I am used to in this restaurant or other Mexican restaurants I have been to around the country. Finally, we felt like we better order, so we did. Food was very good. Like I said earlier, the portions just seem smaller than my last visit last month. After we were done eating, it started again. Every 90 +/- seconds we were asked if we needed anything. I love attentive service but this was way over the top and we finally left and went to another place to finish our talk and have a few more drinks. Not sure if this is typical, someone was training or what. Next time, the bar it is.

This place was recommended by our hotel staff. Service was good, good selection on the menu, portions were large, quality of food excellent, price for what we received was very reasonable.

After being on a cruise for a week, we were in need of a serious Mexican food fix, our hotel shuttle driver recommended Ninfa’s, near our hotel. The food was excellent, highly recommend the mango margarita, too! The owner Alvaro, stopped by, to make sure all was good. He visited with us for a few minutes, (Thank you, for your service in the Marines!). We also meet Dad, he was a pleasure to talk to, as well. Now mind you, we were there at 3PM and the restaurant wasn’t very crowded, yet. It was really a great experience. I’d go back to this restaurant, next time I’m in Houston!

A couple of us got together for drinks and dinner. Starting off with drinks, the Margaritas were from a mix and not very good. Had guacamole with chips, it was pretty good actually. Chicken fajitas for mains, they don't come with bell peppers, had to order separately, but otherwise tasted pretty good. Server barely spoke English.

the food was okay but the service was slow and they forgot many of our items we had to wait and while we waited our main dish got cold.

Food was delicious. It felt like being in Mexico. Our server Oscar , was the best. He gave us his advice as to the dishes we should order , based on our preferences.

First and foremost, Ninfa's comes in between the "cheapy" Mexican food and the "Mexican Cuisine" crowd. I'm not saying you have to moderate your expectations in any way but know that for $10.99 a plate, you're not getting cuisine or hoity-toity food. What you are getting is delicious Mexican food that is served in generous portions and is a good value considering what you get for your money at other places. The service on my latest visit in Mid October 2018 was exemplary. Could not be happier. Plenty of televisions are around your tables and at the bar. But it is, somehow, a more "classy" place than that entails. There is a seating area where you can wait for your party (I'm one of those who'd rather wait for the whole party before going to my table). One little snipe is that the chip basket is too small. They refill it constantly but the basket itself is too small. That's it! Love the place; can't wait to return.

Been here forever and the menu is a bit tired, but the food is always always reliable and the drinks are very good. IF you have not been at one of her places it is worth a stop for sure.

we have always had the best service and food here. We live further South but we plan a stop here every time we have to go by. they have the best homemade tortillas. Our favorite little secret item ( not on the menu) is a sauce called Pechuga . It is an awesome concoction , taste great with fajitas. They should bottle this stuff!!

Choose another restaurant and you will probably get better food. This was really disappointing. I had a variety of appetizers and they were all overcooked (fried) and very stale tasting. The quesadilla was rubbery, the jalapeno poppers were black from over frying, and it went on and on. I mentioned it to the server and she said she would adjust my bill but there was no evidence of that when it was given to me. I cancelled the remainder of my meal. The staff seemed friendly and efficient but the kitchen needed help.

Had an overnight layover by Houston Hobby. Picked Ninfa's off the hotel shuttle list and LOVED IT. We had the nachos and enchiladas, and they were great. Incredibly fast and friendly service. Would definitely go back.

I have been here several times on business trips and I have yet to be disappointed. The food is always delicious and brought out quickly. The service is great especially with Little Joe. He is so friendly and always recommends a variety of dishes. I recommend this place to everyone...it is a must try!

We were on vacation in Houston and our hotel recommended Ninfa's. The food was good as well as the service.

I wanted to stop for TexMex on our way to Hobby Airport and this place did not disappoint. The margarita was tasty, the queso on point, and the refried beans had a great flavor. My husband said he wants to eat here again the next time we're back in Houston!

I was invited to eat here by a former local. To me that made the expectation high. And those expectations were met by taste, quality, and service. If you want great Mexican food in Houston, this is it. Hands Down.

staying at a local motel had my food delivered. Chicken enchilada hot but lots of grease. Rice portion not enough to feed a baby that was delivered cold. It looked like I was supposed to have a small side salad two shredded pieces of lettuce 7 chopped up tiny pieces of Tomato. Good portion of black beans they were hot not cold. I heard this restaurant was very good I did not think so. I would not recommend this restaurant specially if you want food delivery. I spoke to the manager about the cold rice he tried to blame the driver. I was only one mile away the driver delivery came very fast. Shame on you trying to blame the driver.

Stoped by after an airport trip Tex Mex or Mexican food. Wow,! Atmosphere was great, service was great, couldn't ask for anything better! Food was good. Will go again when in the area.

Awesome beef fajitas. Juicy steak fajitas. Homemade flour tortillas. Plenty for two people. Delicious churro beans. Great service. Can't wait to go back.

I stopped in for lunch after driving in from the airport. The food was above average. The table salsas were good. The carnitas was tender but had a good crisp exterior. The corn tortillas were excellent. The only negative was that the restaurant isn't in the best neighborhood and I had my bags still in the car. There were signs warning folks not to leave valuables in their cars. I'll admit I took a seat where I could see the car from. I'll be back, but with an empty car.

We always go to Ninfas on Gulf Freeway when we arrive or depart from Hobby airport. We can count on finding a table on a Saturday night because the crowds are at trendier restaurants that charge more for the same thing. First of all, do NOT order the margarita. Order the Ninfarita. But you better have a designated driver. They also make the best Queso Flameado ever as an appetizer. Best if you share with three others. Finally order the beef Tacos al Carbon/Ninfas. This chain invented them. Trendier places use too much vinegar or black pepper. Here it is just plain tasty and the flour tortilla is home made. Also do NOT order the retried beans. Get the charro beans instead. They do not throw in cilantro and other green stuff in their beans like the trendier places do. On my last visit I decided to get the cheese chile releno a la carte. They obliged but gave me one with ground meat in it. It was awful (Chuys has the best). Thankfully my wife had enough of her meal to share with me. This place is a gem on weekend nights. However, stick to what they do best.

Such adorable place with great staff and clean atmosphere. The food is sooooooo good. Homemade stuff!!!! The queso was just perfect served with fried flour tortillas. The sauces with the corn chips were so yummy as well.

I highly recommend the fish taco. The kid chicken tender plate was delicious but had more fries than chicken tenders. The location was a bit shady for example people littered in the parking lot and a sign on the door stated not to leave valuables in your vehicle. The salsas, tortillas, and queso fundito (fajita) were superb. Service was excellent as well.

I am not one for posting negitive review about below average food however this place has really given me no choice. The food was worse that a fast food drive thru on a bad day, while seated with my friends against the wall the hosted moved three tables so close to my table that I actually had to move my table to get out, and the food was bland. Maybe it was just a bad day for them but it is the last time I will eat here.

Overheard some other hotel guests talking about it and thought we should give it a shot. WOW! GREAT food at reasonable prices. Our server Everardo was fantastic!

No doubt about it, the food is phenomenal! But, I found the service pretty bad (I sat at the bar). Maybe just an off day? No idea, but it definitely was frustrating when the food was so awesome.

Stayed in hotel nearby night before early flight out of hobby so I grabbed a late dinner...turned out to be a great decision. Great salsa great fajitas great handmade tortillas corn/flour solid beer selection (Mexican)

We were a group of 3 vegetarians and 1 meat-eater. Mexican food always has choices for vegetarians, but usually a little limited. We all had something different and it was all good. My dad was eating the lettuce under the guacamole so he wouldn't miss any tasty bits. This is a man who avoids lettuce whenever possible! And the main courses were excellent! Wish they were closer to me!

We ate at Ninfa's on January 21. They had complimentary shuttle service from Springhill Suites on Mosley Boulevard. We were in time for Happy Hour, the Margarita was excellent. The chips were very good and the salsa was wonderful. Neither of us like cilantro, but, this was the exception. Beatriz, took our order and explained a few things on the menu. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla and it was very good. My husband ordered the chalupas with Mexican rice. Irene was our server and when we complimented the food, Arturo Salazar, the manager came over to talk with us.. I told him that I had clients coming in the following week pre cruise and would suggest they visit. We did share the fried ice cream and it was good too I did not see the t shirts that were sold, but, my client reported that they enjoyed the food and bought the t shirt when they visited the following week. We are looking forward to a return visit when we cruise from Galveston.

I brought a group of 90 people to Ninfa's for a dinner that we planned there. It was beautifully handled. The servers, manager and owner were all very attentive. The food was extraordinarily good. They make their tortillas and their sopapillas. They come in the morning and start making everything from scratch. The restaurant is cozy and charming. If you go to Houston and you do not eat at Mama Ninfa's you are really missing out. Could not say enough good things about the restaurant. They were very helpful in planning the dinnner for my group from the French West Indies- GUadeloupe. We will come again.

Stayed the night in Houston before a cruise and had dinner here. The Chimichangas were made with homemade tortillas and were excellent! Also had Guacamole that was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend eating here.

We had a great meal. Loved everything and had enough to take for later!! Margaritas were awesome and our waiter was the best!!! Will come back soon.

Awesome Mexican food. They make their own tortillas in house and they're delicious! The fish taco is amazing. Fantastic service too.

Was told I HAD TO GO to Ninfa's. That was so true. Just ate there yesterday during a layover in Houston. Just outside of the Hobby Airport area, this place was great. It had charm with it's decor. The staff was super friendly, and the food was most excellent. We loved everything we tried! Check out the pictures, and go try Ninfa's for yourself.

So I was in Houston in the summer for just a very hot (and humid) minute at ol Hobby airport with some time and someone recommended Ninfa’s so I figured I could go for an enchilada—let me tell you the Tierra y Mar was FANTÁSTICO! México flavor bursting in your mouth señor! No es una broma. Chips were super crunchy too. Also enjoyed some Mexican apple soda (full sugar experience, dental danger of course) but delicious food and totally legit portrait of ol Ninfa there on the wall watching you eat.

Good service, good margaritas and really good food. Stopped in for lunch grabbed a seat at the bar. Server was good and prompt food was what I was looking for in a small local place.

There were 6 of us, and we sat out in the covered outside area. Our waiter was wonderful and suggested some things. We all got different foods from shrimp ceviche, to various tacos, to tamales. We all loved our food, and the ladies all loved their margaritas as well. The setting outside was wonderful on a warm day

Good Mexican food, with a strong emphasis on seafood (shrimp enchiladas etc.). Not so many standard or traditional US-Mexican fare. Service was excellent, friendly, attentive without being intrusive. I had the best Margarita ever, and they have a list of high end tequilas. If that is an interest. My only complaint was the noise level, which rivaled the noisiest New. York City restaurant.

Warm and friendly service was very appreciated. Great food! We got the Queso Flameado and it was a delight! Margaritas were good and priced right for happy hour. The Carne Asada was amazing! Churro beans were great. Salsa was good too. The second night I got the Chile Rellenos, one with cheese and one with fajita steak. It was the best I've ever had. I would skip the Flan. I didn't love it. It was lumpy and I prefer a very smooth flan. If a little texture in your flan is your thing, It had a great flavor. Don't miss this little gem! It's a little hidden if you are coming from airport, Turn in even if you can't see the restaurant. It's tucked away in the corner by the freeway exit ramp.

The hotel recommended this restaurant and it was great. I had the steak taco's and they were some of the best I have ever eaten. The waitress did a very good job.

Located at the edge of a suburban strip center, this Tex-Mex local institution is worth a visit. The savory Caldo Xochitl is recommended as a starter, but could be a meal in itself. The tortillas, made fresh on the premises, have a warmth, texture and depth of flavor that make them irresistible. The margaritas were smooth and tangy. We went on a Tuesday night, were seated immediately, and our server was very friendly. It's easy to overeat here, with generous portions of wonderfully prepared dishes. The meats are grilled, tender, and juicy. The atmosphere is Mexican themed with heavy furniture and clay ceramic floors, and is not so loud, permitting our group to maintain a conversation.

After a funeral my husband, son and I went to Ninfas needed lunch and this was close. I hadn't been to a Ninfas for years and it was as good as I remember. I had piscado Veracruz which was delicious. It is not like the traditional Veracruzano because it had spinach and cheese, nevertheless, it was very good. My husband had caldo which he enjoyed and my son had enchiladas and he sure cleaned his plate in a hurry. Anyway, everything was great and the service was good. P. S. They make their own tortillas

lived 60 years in southwest, found Ninfas to be very good, great service and amazing sopapillas! Really good fajitas and ribs. Not fancy, homey and tasty!

Food was very good except for the server becoming a pest, 6 times she came around asking if all was okay, 6 times really, one more time and I would have had to complain. While the food was hot.plates were warm, the Margaritas were very sub standard, which was a disappointment. Also up selling without asking by the server is bad, we asked for 2 Margaritas and were given large ones, of course we didn't realize this until the bill came. Yes we'd go again but I'd be very careful about my order and not to trust. If the server had not been a pest and did up selling without asking my rating would have been higher and so would have been my tip.

Great place! Food is wonderful and service the same. Really crowded at lunch but worth the wait. Desserts were amazing! Get one of everything and you'll be happy.

We were sat right away with Nicole being our waittress. She was very good and attentive but not too attentive. She kept making sure the water and diet coke was full. Food did not take long. Lots of good tv's in the restaurant. Food was very good. I had some enchiladas and my wife had fish tacos. Very good.

The food was very good. The portions were large. The prices were very reasonable. It was authentic mexican food.

Soup and taco was outstanding. Nice place, nicely decorated. Great service and good food. A bit pricey but it was very tasty.

We ate here on a recent trip through Houston. The restaurant facility is nice. The server bordered on over-attentive, and then mixed up meals within our small group. We had already eaten parts of our meals before we realized we had issues, and with two of the three of us having serious food allergies, this was not a pleasant realization. The various enchiladas look very similar in external appearance, but the server should know to get the right plates to the right diner. We started with chips, which came with a trio of dipping sauces, one was a bit bland but the other two had more flavor and a little heat. Our dinners were OK, but honestly nothing memorable, and none of the three of us cleaned our plates. While I wouldn't avoid this place on a future trip, I'd be inclined to try somewhere else.

I was here for a business dinner on a Sunday night and the place was packed. The chips and salsa were good and our meals were even better. Being the home of the fajita, that's what I went with for dinner. It was very good and there was plenty of it. Our server was good and the food came out quickly.

The food was very good, as I remember from having eaten many years ago. The house margarita is good as well. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. Definitely a place I will visit again on future trips to the area!

I needed a bite to eat on a business trip and asked Tammy at the front desk, "what restaurant is close, affordable and tasty" and she recommended Mama Ninfa's. I am so glad she did. I had the greatest waiter "Little Joe" and he made great recommendations of the following: the grilled tilapia fish with a white wine and mushroom sauce was excellent, the homemade flan dessert was outstanding and the margaritas were great. Little Joe's service level was absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a quick and tasty mexican dish!!

Excellent cantina with great atmosphere. Neighborhood is a little rough so recommend going before dark. Complimentary chips are served w two salsas, one green & one spicy tomato.

We were in Houston for pre cruise and once again Springhill Suites on Mosley Road offered the free shuttle service to Ninfa's. No sooner were we seated when Celia, our server brought out the wonderful warm chips and two choices of salsa. Celia was our server and we enjoyed good service. My husband, myself and another friend all enjoyed the $3.00 Happy Hour Margaritas. My husband had his favorite Chalupas with chicken, I had the LaLupita which was a chili relleno and chicken fajita.. Can't recall which enchilada our friend had but we were all very pleased with the food and service. My husband and I split an empandita and our friend had the flan. We will continue to send clients to Ninfas when they are doing pre and post cruise and are looking forward to our next visit.

This was our first time to this restaurant and when our waiter found that out he went into service mode in a big way! He recommended two of the best appetizers ever and so I even had him choose my meal. There were five of us and not one complaint. Everything was impeccable down to the sopapilla's that finished the meal off in style! Very reasonably priced and food was excellent! The only thing better than the food was the amazing service! Too bad that is lacking most places these days.

We were visiting on a layover from New York. We asked the hotel driver where we could find authentic local cuisine, and he suggested Ninfa's. We loved this place! As you walk in there is a lady at a counter making tortillas for the meals, The decor is attractive and the staff were very friendly. The food was excellent, quickly served, and plenty of it. The refills of chips and salsa, as well as our drinks were taken care of before we had to ask. We enjoyed the selections we made so much we ordered more to go, for dinner! You will not be disappointed!

I tried the Flautas here, which were fairly good, but tasted like the oil used was a little old. Service was friendly, greeting me with chips and salsa, but was a little slow at the end of the night when I was trying to get my check.
Good, as usual
I met my son for dinner while I was in town for a meeting. He raved about El Tiempo but didn't know where one was located. I suggested Ninfa's on Gulf Freeway, because I had been there on numerous occasions. Due to traffic constraints, we met there around 7:30. We had a lovely greeting from a very friendly hostess. I first encountered Ninfa's in 1977, when I lived in Houston - loved their Tacos al Carbon, but then I discovered Queso Flameado! Yeni, our waitress was knowledgeable and very attentive. I'm not too crazy about their tortilla chips and salsa, but that is not why I go there. Of course, I ordered my favorite (it is hard to find restaurants that serve anything similar with Chorizo) and my son ordered beef/chicken fajitas. We both enjoyed our meals and my son took some home. The prices are very reasonable, and the service seemed even better than usual. I'll definitely be back (and I bet my son will be, too). Incidentally, a spoon full of garlic butter feel onto my son's pants leg and Yeni was quick to supply club soda and a towel.
