A bit of Italy nestled in Atlanta. Authentic Italian dishes as good if not better than anything I have found in Italy or the USA ! Try the mussels Pusilipo as a tangy starter with the tangy juices fused into a Fra Diavolo sauce. Get ready to sop up the flavor with dipping bread. And speaking of Fra Diavolo the Lobster dish of that name is presented artfully surrounded by the empty shells served on wonderful pasta and is superb. Go there for a wonderful meal

This was our first time at Nino's. We sat on the enclosed patio, which was so bright, airy, & nice. My wife & I shared the baked clams orreganada ($13). The dish was excellent with 4 large clams. The seasoning was perfect. My wife had the chicken parmigiana with a side of spaghetti ($25). It was mediocre. It was a large portion but the chicken cutlet was too thick & the sauce was too heavy on the tomatoes. I had the scampi alla Nino's served over linguini ($31). The menu described it being a stewed tomato white wine lemon butter sauce. There were 5 or 6 very large shrimp which were a bit overcooked, which made the tough. The sauce was very heavy tomato sauce, nothing like the menu description stated. It was okay but could have been a lot better. Our server Silvio G. was excellent. I'll give Nino's another try, it could have been an off day.

We couldn't get into Alfredo’s just down the street (no reservations), so we decided to give Nino's a try…they also take reservations, but they managed to “fit us in”. The Atmosphere: Nino's has been around for many years and seems to be pretty popular judging from the parking lot…reservations are definitely recommended. They have both an indoor and an enclosed outdoor area. The indoor area seems way too crowded with tables. We sat in the outdoor area…much quieter and spacious. The outdoor area is nice, but there are some things they could do to make it nicer…like clean up the dirt planter along the wall…it’s just dirt, or do something with the fountain on that same wall. Parking can be a challenge…there’s a small lot on one side and a bigger lot on the other side; however, the bigger lot is not striped and the concrete is in very poor shape with drop offs – it’s probably just a vacant lot that happens to be next to Nino’s – so probably not much they can do about it. The Food: Calamari Fritti – Very tender/tasty (not chewy at all)…you could tell it was fresh. Lightly battered. The Marinara was good, but really didn't have enough of it. Cesare Salad (this is how they spell it) – We only ordered one salad, but they were nice enough to put it on 2 separate plates. The salad was very lightly dressed…it was downright tasteless (a theme for the rest of the evening). It was pretty much like eating wet romaine lettuce. On the plus side, the lettuce was nicely chopped. The croutons were “break your teeth” hard. Fettucine alla Michela (another misspelling on the menu?)– The shrimp and the scallops seemed to be fresh…but the scallops really needed a sear on them, they almost seemed steamed. The sauce was on the sweet side with very little flavor…almost like straight up cream. The fettuccine did not seem to be fresh and was almost chewy/gummy. Overall…not good. Petti Di Pollo alla Alessandra – Chicken topped with a razor thin piece of eggplant with a, once again, tasteless/watery Marsala wine sauce. This came with a side of Spaghetti Bolognese. No surprise here that the sauce seemed worthy of a cafeteria…not an upper end Italian restaurant. It had a really strange flavor/spice. The Service: The service was OK…but not spectacular. Our server wasn't all that friendly (didn't even tell us about the specials that we heard him describe to other tables). When asked what he recommended, he didn't have a clear answer - just the standard "it depends on what you are hungry for". Overall, I would say it was efficient….but nothing memorable. The Value: Prices are in line with other upper-end Italian places…but with food this tasteless, not worthy of their prices. The Conclusion: This seems to be one of those places that skates by on its reputation and the fact that it’s been around for many years…so they don’t even try. Based on the crowds we usually see, I doubt this review will sway many people…but we will personally avoid this place. NOTE: - a 2 "star" rating is a little harsh...but a 3 star would be waaaay to generous.

Went to Nino's a couple of years ago to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. I planned it as a surprise. The restaurant was worked with me every step of the way to pull it off. And we did. It was a very nice celebration with a few friends and family there to help celebrate.

This is such a neighborhood gym. Old school Italian - right out of the 50s-60s. Food is great (I always get veal parm, my wife gets the salmon) and service is always fantastic. There are so many fancy pretentious Italian places in ATL. Nino's is better in every way- food quality, service and price. We probably go 5-10 times a year.

The food was very good. Appetizers especially. The meal I ordered was very good, I wish I had gone away from Red, but that is me. Place was still very good and waiter was awesome and gave insights to the dish. Went with 6 co-workers and they all loved their meals.

We really enjoy this restaurant but the veal saltimbocca has not been as good on our last two visits. They seem to have cut the amount of veal in the recipe and the prosciutto overwhelms the dish. Skimping on the veal is ruining the dish and raising the cost of the dish may be necessary to keep the recipe as good as it used to be.

we made reservations at the last minute and secured a table at 9 PM - we arrived about 15 minutes early and we were seated immediately. It's a cosy, old school Italian vibe - really taking you back in time. My wife had the cosmo and loved it and i had Scotch - MacAllen 12. The service was fantastic. The folks who served our table were friendly, jovial with my kids and helpful with recommendations. We had the burrata and for dinner we had the eggplant, the pasta in vodka sauce and the ravioli. Ample portion sizes - we were stuffed. We finished off with a Tiramisu and canoli...they were gracious enough to put the canoli on the house. Highly recommended.

A very inviting restaurant. It was cold outside and as soon as we walked in the coziness and warmth enveloped you. It was great Italian fare. I had the Caprese salad, Gnocchi, and finished with Tiramisu. My sister had the grilled grouper. It was cooked to perfection. I asked for just a glass of the house Chianti and it was very yummy! Will go back!

Waitress asks : flat or sparkling water ? I answer : large Pellegrino with lime please. She proceeds to give me the wine list to show her which wine I was talking about. 4 pieces of complimentary bruschetta, sub par, which don’t have a purpose. Warm baguette with butter was excellent. Caprese was unacceptable. Quality of tomato was terrible, mozzarella was ok. 3 pieces of small, uneven slices badly cut. Scampi fra diavolo for 28$ was unacceptableas well. Over cooked shrimp tasteless, pasta al dente correct but precooked and no flavor, the sauce and the pasta had not blended together. Capella scampi in light cream was average. Nothing to talk about. If this place wants to stay in business, some updates are needed. Everything is Extremely dated.. in urgent need of something.

We opted for dinner and dessert rather than appetizers. Oh my. We had the perfectly sized pasta portions. Bread and bruschetta came with our meals. We each chose a dessert and are still debating the best one. We've decided we'll be back tomorrow night.

We went to Ninos Sunday after not being there for while. It is so authentic and such great food . The atmosphere is Italian but informal and the food is always great down to the desert.

I had dismissed Nino's as past it's prime, but was pleasantly surprised during our recent visit. A comfortable atmosphere welcomes you and makes you feel like a guest in an Italian home. The food was much better than we expected and we definitely look forward to our next visit. I now understand why Nino's has such a devoted following.

Our fault for going on Mother's day and thus the crowd, bustle and general rush that took away from well prepared food and adequate wine. My eggplant and penne pasta was just fine as was the Caesar salad. Others enjoyed chicken parmesan, veal parmesan and the veal. While there were many names on the wine list I was shocked at what was missing including Gavi, Brunello and several other Italian classics. Our waiter seemed to have too many tables and was in a terrible rush. Maybe I would go back but certainly not at a busy time.

What a great place for a foodie experience. I go several times a year, and whomever is with me truly enjoys the experience. 54 years is a long time for any restaurant. Try it for yourself, and you will understand why Ninos has been here 54 years.

Recently ate at Nino's using scoutmob. The menu is heavily geared toward seafood with limited choices for chicken and beef or regular pasta. I started with the ceasar salad which was very bland and lacked any flavor at all including the dressing. I then ordered the steak which was cooked properly and was decent on flavor and tenderness along with the alfredo pasta it was served with. If you are looking for good non-seafood italian I would highly recommend going somewhere else. If you love seafood this could be a good spot for you. BEWARE if you use scoutmob they automatically add the gratuity based on the price before discount.

Nino's is everything you want an Italian restaurant to be. The atmosphere is perfect. The waitstaff is friendly. The food is as good as it gets. We have been to Italy and this was as good as anything we had there. Real, wonderful dishes made perfectly. The pasta, the sauce, the quality. We loved everything we ordered.

Not much going for this dated Cheshire Bridge vestige of an earlier time. On previous visits the food quality compensated for the tired atmosphere but the quality has fallen to where its just not a place I can recommend anymore.

Have been here many times and it never fails to please. Their Cesar Salad is wonderful and not overbearing. This time I had the Pollo Alessandra with a side of angel hair pasta. This dish is wonderful. My husband had the Caprese Salad and Lobster Diavolo. The tomatoes were very flavorful and delicious. The Lobster is wonderful here. Just the right amount of garlic and red sauce that adds to the lobster, but does not overpower it. The atmosphere is charming. The dim lighting in the main dining room is great for a date night and the patio is wonderful for a more lively meal with friends.

I booked this restaurant for a group of 16 including colleagues and customers. It was an amazing evening. The atmosphere could best be described as enchanting. Andrea Bocelli and other favorite Italian classics were playing softly in the background. The food ( appetizers and entrées) were amazing and they had a large assortment of wines available. In addition, the wait staff was friendly prompt and helpful. I will be back!

The place small and quaint. There is also elegant outside dining. The service from the front to the back of the house....Amazing! Thank you Ninos! We will be back!

There seems to be an ongoing debate between those who prefer one of these old –school Italian restaurants over the other. We’ll bravely enter the fray and declare that we prefer Alfredo’s, but only slightly. I gave Alfredo’s 4 stars and this should be 3½. Our visit to Nino’s was on a Monday. Forced by a movie start time, we had to eat relatively early when they opened at 5:30pm. All staff were gracious and helpful and slightly less formal than those at Alfredo’s. Quickly brought to our table was some very nice and warm bread and a plate of complimentary mini-bruschetta, a nice touch. We did, unfortunately, find the overhead music to become extremely annoying. They seemed to play a loop of the Andrea Bocelli-sounding 10 minutes song over and over and over and... Yikes! Our group of four started by sharing a couple of appetizers and a Caesar salad. Both the calamari and the mussel appetizers were great. The mussels were cooked in a heavier tomato broth which was a nice change and really good. The Caesar salad was traditional and very good. These items were the best part of the meal. For main courses we had a pasta with vodka sauce, a lasagna, a pasta with shrimp & scallops, and a veal chop. All were good, but seriously in need of extra seasoning. Salt and pepper helped a great deal, but it is always best when the seasoning is done in the cooking process. The veal chop was quite nice, but again it needed some more seasoning in the rub. The almond torte dessert was nice but nothing to write about (hmmm…then why am I writing about it?) For the prices charged, I would have expected everything to be closer to hitting the mark. Overall, Alfredo’s served a better meal, but only by the thinnest of angel hair (pasta, that is.)

Remember Cher's song "If I Could Turn Back Time?" You don't have to. Just go dine at Nino's. It's a trip back to Italian restaurants in the '70s. We went to Nino's because we couldn't get a reservation at Alfredo's just up the street. They have both been fixtures on Cheshire Bridge Road since the '70s. You will find classic southern Italian dishes, servers in black pants and white shirts, opera on the sound system, and two dining areas that were last renovated decades ago. We made a reservation for a Saturday night and a booth was ready for us on time. Complimentary bruschetta (pretty good) was served along with good Italian rolls and butter. We ordered two salads (caesar and spinach, both a little too heavy on the dressing for our taste), cannelloni and spaghetti vongole. Both were very good but not great. The cannelloni was somewhat bland but the red sauce and béchamel sauce were fine. The spaghetti vongole had dozens of littleneck clams. Prices were a little high for what you get. Service was attentive and correct. The water glasses must have been refilled six times. Bottom line: if you can't get in to Alfredo's, Nino's will do just fine.

This is a wonderful Italian restaurant! We had to do takeout due to the birth of our granddaughter, but they treated us as well as dine-in. We all had veal, parm and saltimbocca. All fabulous. The salad we ordered was excellent as well. Wish we had ordered dessert, but no room. My daughter has been coming here for years and I can see why. Do not miss.

We recently had my son's rehearsal dinner at Nino's, and we wouldn't change a thing about the evening. My son and his fiance had dined here many times, as had my husband and I when visiting our son in the Atlanta area. This was a party of 58 people and the service from the staff was incredible. They were very conscientious about making sure no one needed anything. The evening started with a cocktail hour of sorts with a huge antipasto display with everything you can imagine on it, it was fabulous. We decided that the rest of the evening the food would be served family style at the tables, great decision! The appetizers consisted of platters of calamari, fried mozzarella, and baked clams on each table. The portions were huge and if something ran out more was brought out. Nino's baked clams are the best! Salad was the next thing served, both caprese salad and house salad. The caprese was just outstanding. For the main courses we had salmon, penne ala vodka, and chicken saltimbocca. Everything was just outstanding, the salmon was so moist, the chicken was not too salty and cooked perfectly, and the pasta was al dente just the way we like. When cooking for a crowd this size sometimes food isn't hot or is dried out...not the case here, everyone just raved about the food. It all truly was fantastic. The final food of the evening was the dessert platters with the cannolis, profiteroles, and almond cake. The cannoli shells were crunchy just like the should be and the other two desserts were just as wonderful. Alessandra and her staff just did a perfect job, and the chef and his food outstanding! Thank You for a fabulous evening!

landmark atlanta table struggling to keep pace in a low end neighborhood continues to shine. exceptional wines from a full cellar, magnificent entrees, and taste tempting starters highlight a full menu of options. it's pasta at its finest. the bread will take your breath away. while i can't have any the deserts look fantastic, and offered in huge servings. attentive non intrusive service highlight an excellent menu here. it still is one of atlanta's finest after many years with the same caring empasis on details and customer service. worthy of a visit just for the breads, it is a seafood paradise.

At this place, you find the usual American Italian fares, characterized by misspelled dish names, overreliance on meatballs and overabundant bland tomato sauce and cheese galore. I had an eggplant parmigiana, which should be first and foremost about eggplant, and the poor vegetable was completely drowned by cheap mozzarella, tomato sauce and ricotta cheese. It was overall tasteless. Others at the table had overcooked pasta. The cannoli dessert was ok. The ambiance is the typical America-Italian-tacky-but-cozy with signs with proverbs inscriptions hanging on the walls: one originally read "mangia mangia". Prices were average for the restaurant. The location is in a part ot town surrounded by nothing worth walking to.

The food is absolutely fine - very solid. I had the Veal Saltimboca, my friend had the fish and the other friend had the Lasagna. All of it was solid p the veal was very tender and they did it correctly with prosciutto and fresh sage. The fish was cooked perfectly and had a lot of flavor that wasn't covered up by too much sauce or other vegetables. The drinks were well made and the house Pinot Grigio was top notch. Service was fine - an awful lot of waiters though that just stood around. We had to wait for our guy to get extra butter, bread, etc. He seemed to be the only one busy. Desserts were well made and absolutely delicious. My one crtique is a big one for me - I ordered Cappelini (Angel Hair) and specifically said "al dente," It came out overcooked and mushy - I hate mushy pasta! No problem going back though.

We've been to most of the Italian restaurants in Atlanta several times, and finally tried Nino's for dinner with friends. Based on the reviews, we had high expectations for a mid-level restaurant, but were all disappointed with the food and service. The appetizers were average, the salads bland, the veal entrees were not very tasty and the desserts unimpressive. Not as good as several other Italian restaurants in Atlanta with the same price point, and not in the same class as the best ones.

This was our first visit to Nino's and we will be back. We had a party of 8 and the service was excellent. Our food was cooked to perfection and reminded us of our Italian travels.

This restaurant has been in the same location for 49 years. It is a classic Italian restaurant with no frills just good food and excellent service. I was visiting my family and took them here for dinner. Next door used to be a very good restaurant also Alfredo's which is gone. We started with the following appetizers which were all very good- Burratta, mussels posillipo, and Cesar salad, Entrrees were Lasagna Forno, pasta peperonchino, and capellini Elena- excellent food. We wanted to bring our own wine and there was a $ 25.00 corkage fee which I think is excessive. The desserts were terrific, the almond cake made on the premisies by the owner was a real hit

Although Atlanta has many, many "ethnic" restaurants, Nino's is one of the few truly authentic Italian restaurants I've found there. The parking lot is a little off=putting, but once you get inside the atmosphere charming, though simple. The food was excellent, a taste of home (Boston's Italian North End) for me. Good wine selection, too. And not overpriced. A real find.

One of the best seafood pasta (zuppa pesce) I’ve had. Made from scratch pasta and sauce, bountiful fresh seafood. Never had a dish that had more protein than pasta, wow! The downer: we were seated at the big family room and it was so very very loud and noisy, people talking over each other. Over stimulating environment. Our group had to text each other just to be able to carry a conversation. If we come back, I will definitely request not to be seated there. Only option is paid valet parking.

I had high expectations based on these reviews, but was highly disappointed. It was my wifes birthday dinner made with reservations at 8:30pm. They squeezed us in next to the kitchen door, with my chair in the aisle. I was bumped into continuously by tbe staff without any apologises. The waiter was rude. The food was ok. Being Italian I could have made my meal much better. The baked clams were not good. My veal was soso. My wifes Gnocci was fresh and tasty. So overall experience was a two out of five.

I have been searching for the best Neapolitan style Italian for a long time and finally found it! Nino's is the spot! Not sure how I have missed this hidden gem but came across it through Open Table! You can tell from the minute you walk in that this is a hot spot that regulars have clung to for years. It is very modest from a decor standpoint but the food is what you are here for. My wife ordered the Spaghetti al Peperoncino Eva (red pepper infused pasta with shrimp, artichokes, garlic & olive oil) and myself the chicken parm! Both were outstanding - and my daughter inhaled half of a plate of lasagna she loved it so much! Dan even made her a carafe of sweet tea - and he knows his wine! Service is outstanding! Feels like a good old Philly or New York City Italian restaurant where you feel like family! Do not pass this up if you are hankering for a good Italian meal and ask for Dan T as your server!

Very affordable but also very nice. A carafe of the house Sangiovese, a big plate of lasagna and I'm in heaven.

Spouse and I joined 2 friends (who had dined here many times in the past) at this long time Cheshire Bridge restaurant. The bar was charming: the kind you rarely see anymore. The menu was large. The women had salmon. The men had veal. All enjoyed their food. Parking is challenging, especially in the pouring rain. Relatively recent renovation added a nice "outdoor" area, but we were protected from the rain

Having just moved from NYC to Atlanta we are critical of Italian food for sure. The service was great even on a busy night. The dishes we order were all very good. I would recommend this restaurant. Some say the decor is dark etc. I found the decor to be a plus, old yes but charming at the same time. Give a try for sure.

Been there about 8 to 10 times and unbelievably consistently the best Italian restaurant I've been too bar non...oh incredible wine list as well.

This is the best Italian restaurant I have been to in Atlanta. The service it exellent, food is perfect, very romantic, too.

Great veal dishes, also fish & pasta. Small but nice ambience

We haven't visited Cheshire Bridge area for Italian dining since the closing of Alfredo's. I must say that this restaurant brought back many good memories. We visited the restaurant on Saturday. It was busy and the parking lot full. We did not have a reservation and it is recommended that you do. The owner obliged and seated us in the patio section. Not bad in any way, but if you are looking for more of the 70's feel of olde world Italian eateries with low ceilings, dark panel walls in booth settings request the indoor section. After we ordered some drinks, they brought yummy NY styled loafed bread to the table - Very good. App's, my wife and I shared Calamari.plentiful, very delicate and tender Not overly fried with a hint of salted pepper. Very good! Next my wife had the Eggplant Parm. also very good and tasty. I had the Scampi al Nino's. Good with a little spicy kick. We will back, sooner than later and next time, I will try the Veal Parm.

Growing up in NJ I was spoiled when it came to italian food. On my latest trip to Atlanta I was looking for a good italian restaurant. Last time I was in town I met a man Gerald Lewis over at plaza services llc and he gave me great recommendations so I emailed him and asked him about italian restaurants in Atlanta and he sent me to Nino's. The mussels were awesome. Then I had a caprese and the tomatoes were nice and ripe. And my veal chop was cooked to perfection. Prices were reasonable and the service was great. I will be back and maybe I will bring Gerald and the rest of his plaza services staff!

I was pushed, oh so much to go to Nino’s by a friend CP. Authentic, delicious and heartwarming service, with a touch of oh yes. It started with a welcoming from Barmaid Angelique. She welcomed our group of 6 like family. The bread, appetizers, great wine, main courses and ..... Don’t miss out on Nino’s!

Enjoyed a wonderful evening with friends at Ninos. The atmosphere was delightful and our food delicious. Our waiter was excellent.

This little gem of a restaurant offers authentic Italian food served with a smile ! Ask to sit on the front terrace.. its quiet and charming … The VEAL was exceptional. Thank you Nino's for 2 great meals during my recent business trip to the area.

We came with a group of 8 and had excellent service. The food is amazing with fresh herbs and perfect flavor. Absolutely will visit again next time we are in town.

And the food never fails to impress. I've eaten and enjoyed nearly everything on the menu over the years and it is always exquisite. My wife and I went this weekend after having not been in some time. I always worry that it will not hold up over time, but I found it to be every bit as good as always. One of the best restaurants in the city of Atlanta. Don't let the location keep you away.

My wife and I had dinner before attending a concert. We did not have a reservation and were grateful they had a table for us. Excellent service from Anthony and the food was outstanding.

Re-visited Nino's b/c we had a pleasant experience there, but this time it was a complete 360-degree experience, there was no waiter assigned to our table after 30 minutes we had to 'Flag' someone to take our order. We placed our orders and waited an additional 45 minutes yet still no dinner. (not even a courtesy bread tray to acknowledge our patience) Wait staff were too busy tending to a special event in another room and appeared to disregard regular customers.

We have been to Nino's in the past with mix emotions. I have to tell you that our entire party were all very please with service and quality. It was a home run!! We will be back!! I think reviewing a restaurant is best served by experiencing it in person. Either you love it or leave it! I love this world charm Nino's.

Visited Feb 8. John was our server. Very attentive. Started with the Calamari Fritti while my dinner guests had salads. We had Veal Parmigiana, Gnocchi and Papperdelle. All were excellent! We used to go to Alfredos (now closed) and am glad this is close by. When in the mood for Italian make this your restaurant. Parking is a bit limited but well worth going. Save room for the dessert tray!

This place is a bit of Italy well done in Atlanta. it is located off Cheshire Bridge Road in an area making a come back from the seedier establishments that attempted to populate this area. However, this wonderful gem has managed to hold its own and be a mainstay for the thirty plus years my wife and I have frequented it. This past week we celebrated another blessed event as my son joined us with friends to celebrate his engagement to a special young lady. We were ushered to a cozy side room where we were able to celebrate in private but still enjoy the excellent service and classic Italian faire with a few twists.

Friendly service, good wine list. Nothing fancy or cutting edge ... just well prepared Italian classics made with fresh ingredients and TLC. The bread is delightful ... use it to soak up the escargot butter and pernod. Try the grouper, however its being prepared that evening. The pastas are wonderful and all the veal dishes are great.

As I usually eat at Alfredos when in Atlanta, I was truly disappointed when I learned it had closed. Saw Ninos close by the old Alfredo's location and decided to try it. The food was excellent. and the service polished. my one comment is the restaurant was way too dark. Coming in from outdoors my eyes could not even see the menu. I had to request a flashlight to see properly. Maybe this is a romantic place for lovers but for somebody trying to see the menu and food bring a light.

This restaurant has been in Atlanta since 1968. What a disappointment ! The waiter was not a happy camper and throughout the dinner he acted as if we were a bother not a customer. We had calamari and the grouper. For $45 we got a barely warm piece of grouper, 3 small slices of potatoes and 3 asparagus. From the film on the fish it appears it may have been sitting under a warming lamp for some time. Tiramisu for desert appeared to be at least a day old. We each had wine. The total bill was $175. Service and food were overpriced and under performed.

Excellent Italian food! The portions are substantial so my wife and I split Pappardelle Verde. We opted for a bolognese sauce instead of the light cream and it was great! We paired it with Giordano Lombardo Gavi di Gavi white and it was fabulous. For Italian food lovers, a must visit in Atlanta. Make a reservation!

We were celebrating 49th anniversary and we arrived around 5p. The restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered salad and it took about 45 minutes to get it Dinner arrived about 7p was not what we ordered. Finally got what we ordered around 715p and we asked to get it to go. Only refilled water once, ordered iced coffee and it was served clear like tea. We declined it. They did not have any sodas available. Manager compt 2 of the 4 meals and said thanks for your patience. No one on the patio had their food and were also getting upset This was once a great restaurant! Will not be back. Wish a better experience to anyone who comes here

We went to Nino's this past Friday night to celebrate our sons graduation from Georgia Tech...it did not disappoint. We had a party of seven, and were seated in a little private section of the restaurant. It was wonderful to have this bit of privacy as we talked and shared stories with my sons friends. Our waiter Jonathan was terrific. He had good suggestions for us. We all loved that for a little bit extra you could get a side portion of many of their entree pasta dishes. Several in our group got the filet mignon with side pasta dishes....the steaks were amazing! One in our group got the lobster tails, he couldn't get enough it was so good. Save room for dessert....their dessert presentation was amazing and of course delicious. Highly recommend!

Oldest Italien restaurant in ATL. Perfect ambience for a date or family gathering. The owner and his family are usually in. They have the best lasagna Ive ever had you can taste the freshness!

After doing a lot of research on Italian restaurants in the Atlanta area, I stumbled across this place; which has been there for 30 years. I've been going to Nino's for seven years now, every time is consistently wonderful. They always have a unique special of the day, but the veal and eggplant entrées are always my go-to's. The cannoli and tiramisu are amazing; to finish off with something sweet. Great place for a special occasion or just a nice evening on the town.

Excellent food. I don't remember the name of what I had, but the waiter suggested it and it was delicious! My husband had the Spaghetti with homemade meatballs and it was wonderful as well. The meatballs were huge! Great service... our waiter was friendly and chatted with us everytime he came by. Definitely recommend.

First time trying this Italian restaurant and we will return. Full bar with very good drinks, food was more refined than we expected. We had anticipated "kitchen table" Italian. Everything we had was excellent. My husband has celiac disease and needs gluten-free and they were able to accommodate. Only downside was the waiter really did not know the gluten-free options well and did bring a wrong drink. We didn't realize until the end of the meal when one of the owners stopped by the table that they have GF pasta. Now that we know, we will see who waits on us and perhaps we have even more options. was a great place for Saturday night out.

A friend recommended Nino's while we were in Atlanta on business. We arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday night, and there was one car in the parking lot, and NO ONE in the restaurant. Even our cabbie was like "are you sure you want to go in?" We went in, a little embarrassed that we had made reservations. But when they placed the warm crusty bread and the butter on our table, all concerns went right out of our heads. The bruschetta appetizer (that everyone is given) is also fabulous. The caprese salad was delicious and the cavatelli homemade. The meatballs were to die for - the food was non stop amazing. By the time we finished our meal the place was completely full and we certainly know why - the food. Definitely make a stop at Nino's!

Honestly, this really isn't my type of place. The food is good, the service is superb. It is a small restaurant with limited seating. They charge 5.00 to park in their tiny parking lot. I admit I don't like paying for parking when I am already paying for a dinner. Average price was 30.00 per person and we had 14 people. Our bill was over 800.00. I admit, go to a seafood or steak restaurant and you would pay just as much. And the food is good, the wait staff dress appropriately for a fine Italian restaurant. The food was a bit gourmet. I had the lamb meatballs with rigatoni and it could have used a little more sauce. My partner had shrimp and scallops with saffron. I hate recipes where you have to put your hands in the sauce to take the tails off. So messy.

Nino's is more or less a "hole in the wall" kind of place that's been around for a long time. They put their effort into the food and not the decor, so if you are looking for that super swanky place to show off to your friends then this isn't the place. They are geared toward seafood fare mostly. We had the mussels as an appetizer and they were delicious. Fresh tomatoes and parsley really stood out in their broth which is a departure from a lot of the mussels we've tried in other places. I had the carbonarra and it was absolute perfection. Not too rich the way some Italian dishes can be at a lot of places. There is such a thing as too much butter. My wife had the spaghetti vongole with clams and she couldn't say enough good things about it. Their tiramisu was really good as well. They cater to an older crowd. Scoutmob warning, they charge an 18% gratuity if you use your Scoutmob, but they take the percentage amount from the original total so for us it worked out to be about 23%. I didn't like that.

I visited this place in April after many, many years and the food was still just as good as I remember. The atmosphere is nice but definitely comfortable with a wide range of attire to be found. I believe we also had the young inexperienced waiter someone else spoke of but he didn't pretend to know what he was talking about and we weren't in a hurry - thoroughly enjoyed our wine, calamari appetizer, salads, pasta dishes, and (of course) the best tiramasu!

small place but very good Italian food. Nice wine list, attentive service and very good cocktails too.

We went to Nino’s this evening based on reviews on TripAdvisor and we loved it! I’m a former New Yorker and I’ve had some great Italian in my life! Nino’s was amazing! Just like the Italian restaurants I grew up eating in. The food was amazing, the staff attentive and the atmosphere was classic! You definitely will love this place.

Some friends took us here. We would not have known about it otherwise. We enjoyed it. The service was outstanding. Not a large crowd on the Thursday night we were there. Food was quite good. We ordered the fish specials. Priced reasonably. Nice romantic place. I liked it that we could self park with no problem, no need for valet.

Birthday dinner last night. Lasagna was the best I've ever had! Husband had chicken parmesan with side of Ratatouille (sauteed veggies) which I tasted and loved. Not so busy on a late Monday night but the staff were so attentive to make sure my birthday meal was perfect. Highly recommend this place for authentic Italian food!

Came in for a 7:30 dinner. Ample parking on both sides of the restaurant. Very warm greeting. Seated immediately. Service was excellent. Food was very good.

We had dinner at Nino’s last Saturday evening and we loved the food and the experience. It felt like an old school Italian restaurant in all the right ways. A plus right off the bat is they have a parking lot so no valet necessary. They have a small bar area inside you can have a cocktail at before dinner but we opted to go straight into dinner. We had a drink after dinner at the bar and the service there was very good too. The restaurant just feels classic and fun. Our waiter was excellent with great suggestions on food and beverages. We started with an Antipasto plate that seemed quite affordable for what we got. I would highly recommend it as a started. We enjoyed the basic cesare salad and it was quite good as well. So many of the pastas look good but I ended up going with the Orecchiette Con Salsicce Rapini. The little sausage filled shells were great. I would highly recommend that dish. My wife got the chicken parmesan dish really enjoyed that too. The beer list was okay. I would have enjoyed a couple more craft beer options but the wine list seemed very good. We both enjoyed a couple glasses of wine that evening that went very well with our meal. I’m sad it took me this long to visit Nino’s. It was a fun experience filled with great food.

We go to Nino's often. The service and food are always quite good. Veal parm for me and salmon for my wife- never disappoint. Very friendly folks, very old school decor.

Excellent food, ambiance, service. Closest NY Italian restaurant feeling we have experienced here in Atlanta. Tony, our waiter was very knowledgeable and his recommendations hit the spot! Great experience.

I give this place one of my rare 5 start ratings. There are a couple of dishes I absolutely love which is why I rated it so high. The Gnocchi served in bolognese sauce is one of my favorites. It's also quite filling. Recommend making reservations as it's quite crowded on the weekends. The place has kind of a "cramped feeling" but that's part of the appeal. Definitely one of my favorites.

We lost Alfredo's and for years have driven past Nino's on our way to the other place. This was our second visit and I have to say we have overlooked a great place. Tony and his staff are great and the place makes you feel at home. The dessert trolley is amazing. If you are on Cheshire Bridge make a point at stopping at Nino's. You won't be disappointed.

As an Atlanta native I have been coming here for years but last night had the worst experience thanks to a waiter named Fred. (Fred was an older gentlemen who later told us he had been working here only 7 weeks.) From the moment we were seated he came off as glum, agitated and put off by our party of five no matter how much we tried to interact with him nicely on a one to one basis. Fred also seemed to rush us through our courses. And huffed off when we asked him to give us 5 more minutes to decide on entree's. This was probably around 7:30pm. Later while we were enjoying coffee & desert he stood at our table (with arms folded) and said sternly thank you for coming ...... suggesting we needed to leave. This was 8:55pm and they do not close until 11pm. Needless to say our party of 5 left with a horrible taste in our mouths and upset.

We have been going to Nino's since 1977, so I will admit to a bit of bias. If you are looking for an Italian restaurant that is splashy or in the local headlines, this is not for you. On the other hand, if you are looking for consistently good Italian food in a relatively quiet and friendly environment, you could not ask for anything better. The veal dishes are consistently good, and the seafood dishes, particularly the Seafood Michela (named after one of the daughter's owner) with shrimp and scallops over pasta. The background Italian music is part of the ambiance, and the servers are earnest and not obtrusive. If you want a very soothing, Italian experience with very good food, then Nino's should be high on your list. Of course, if this is your first visit to Atlanta, then simply visiting Cheshire Bridge Road will be a cultural shock for you. The street has great restaurants, but it also has some of the most famous Atlanta strip bars, along with antique stores and low-brow restaurants. In some respects it is like the Jerry Springer Show meets the Galloping Gourmet. Just don't be too fast to judge. You will enjoy Nino's.

This is an Italian restaurant for Dentists. They deserve a little pain, too. If this is what Italian food is supposed to taste like -- then I'm ready to go on a Kosher diet. Glaciers move faster than the bartender here.

We have been dining at Nino's Italian restaurant for years and the food and service are consistently wonderful. We love the 'grouper specials' (they vary) and their Cesare salad. One of my favorite dishes is the Scampi Alla Nino's - Sautéed scampi, stewed tomato, white wine lemon butter sauce (pictured) - yum!! . They have a full bar, nice wine list, great desserts. Highly recommend!!

Despite the fact that Nino's has been in Atlanta even longer than I have (more than 50 years, according to a sign inside), I had never been here before. I think that was probably due to location and prevalence of other Italian places. This just wasn't convenient to anywhere I lived vs. visiting other closer Italian restaurants. We were in-town and I had bookmarked this, so we gave it a try one Sunday early evening. The parking lot out front is somewhat restrictive (about 8 spaces between the store front and Cheshire Bridge Rd.). Maybe there is more parking around back...? We found a space. The restaurant appeared divided between a front area with windows, which is sort of bright and airy, and a rear main dining area which is much darker and 'traditional'. It is dark enough that it was sort of challenging to read the menu, but they are going for the 'candlelight' atmosphere, I think. The overall vibe is 'old-school Italian' (at least to me; if you are of Italian descent, YMMV). At least for Atlanta, this place reminded me of other favorite Italian places which are now defunct. I liked it. The waiters are very professional. There were several tables of what appeared to be older sets of couples who were 'regulars' (based on their interaction with the staff) as well as a couple of larger parties. There is a bar area also. The menu was interesting and we both found good dishes. I think mine was a stuffed ravioli and was good. I liked the salad and the wine selection too. Prices are a bit high, but this is more along the lines of a fine dining place. I didn't think it was unreasonable for the overall experience. I think we'll be back; I'm glad this place is still around!

Arrived with my sister, nephew, her husband and My husband. We had a terrible time parking, then came in and were seated quickly. Matradee was surly and a bit unfriendly. We sat and older woman came out and gave us bread and some boring tiny brushchetta and she seemed to be having a bad day, she never said hello and she kep there sour face held down. We did have a very good waiter in all this, he was attentive and did float about unobtrusively, but did fail to check on other drinks and water. Food wise, my meal was the shrimp scampi. It was so spicy, that I could hardly eat it. This was not mentioned not on the menue. Also the shrimp was tough. My husband had spaghetti and Meatballs, it was moderate. My sister had the veal parmigiana, she liked it. WE all had the escargot appetizer, it was blaze. Not that great. I think this restaurant new to revamp itself. Would not take much work.

We went to Nino's last Sunday, it was cinco de mayo and we were visiting Atlanta and hoping to find a Mexican restaurant, but they all had long lines, so we decided to try Nino's after the hotel we were at recommended it. When we parked it didn't look like much, small and looked more like a house than restaurant. It turned out to be a wonderful choice of restaurant, everything is homemade and delicious! The employees are friendly and courteous. The food exceeded are expectations! Would most definitely dine there again, whenever we visit Atlanta again.

We've dined there since the early, early 1980s. Old style, intimate space that serves up food like they did in the old country before any of us were born. We return again and again, and hesitate to tell folks about it.

this is an excellent traditional and authentic Italian Restaurant. When you sit down, you begin with complimentary bruchetta and hot crusty bread with slabs of cold, creamy butter. Although the wine list is extensive, we chose a carrafe of the house red. We shared the special fresh fish with pasta and fresh veggies and finished with a chocolate cake with a rasberry drizzle. we sat out on the porch with the windows open and lingered through the sunset. The entire experience was made perfect by a fun and personable server, Sasha. Just an awesome ecening.

Met old friends here for dinner and had a great meal. Stand outs were the bresaola and arugula salad, the fresh grouper with caper sauce, and the seafood ravioli. Good selection of wines by the glass and delicious homemade desserts. Service was attentive and our server made solid recommendations (you won't feel that you are being upsold). Local gem, feels like family.

Nino's is has a very quaint atmosphere and could be considered a very romantic place for dinner. The service was exceptional with someone who seemed to be assigned to just refilling water glasses and waiters with a good knowledge of the menu. I had the shrimp pasta with a light cream sauce (I forgot the Italian name they called it on the menu) and my husband had the veal chop. This was probably the best shrimp pasta dish I've ever had and I eat shrimp often! He also thoroughly enjoyed his veal. The bread and fresh butter were delicious.....warm right out of the oven. I had a salad with a unique combination of ingredients as well that was fabulous. He had the mussels which I didn't care for, but I never have been a fan of mussels. He said they were good with a special broth. I can't wait to return for another delicious meal!

So I am from out of town, and when I go to a restaurant recommended on TripAdvisor by other travellers, I always find it reassuring to see a lot of locals, repeat customers coming and going. Nino's is that way. People were on a first name basis with the owners and the staff. Obviously, they come here all the time. And it was busy with a upper middle to senior aged crowd. Nice touch with complimentary bruschetta to start. The salads were great. My frutti di mare was very good. The veal piccata was fine, while the lasagna was good, not great. The cannoli for dessert were great. Service was good, and prices very reasonable for a nice restaurant in Atlanta. Best meal ever ---- no. But good, and judging on the clientele, very reliably good. A safe bet for traditional Italian.

We tried this again after a long interval and found dinner to be a mixed bag. The decor was welcoming if tired and our corner booth romantic. Service was ok but the waiter rushed us at each interaction which was not appreciated. The meal began with a shared Caesar salad that was disappointing in that the Romaine was not hearts but top leaves and limp. The dressing was just ok. Wines and drinks were fine as was the bruchette and small loaves of bread. One of our entre items was the Vitello Romano with procuitto, egg plant, tomato and veal with a side of angel hair pasta and Marinara sauce which my wife deemed very good. I enjoyed the spaghetti Vongole with little neck clams and found it well sauced with a wine butter combo and the clams fresh and plentiful. At the end we split a piece of fresh coconut cake and it was a bit dry but filling. My conclusion is they know how to cook and if only the salad had been better the rating would have gone up a notch.

This is a long-time, neighborhood Italian restaurant in the heart of Atlanta. The people who work there are professionals and know their jobs. They treat the customer in a warm, yet professional way. The food is great. Everything we've had from antipasto, to caprese salad, to fish, pasta, or dessert - it's all good. I've had a special dish that I like, and the kitchen always makes it for me, simple but not on the menu. They've never argued, and have always delivered wonderfully!

Ate at Nino's based upon reviews here. It was ok, even good. Not great. The tables are very small and the restaurant is poorly lit. We couldn't read our menus at all and it was early evening. The acoustics in the place are poor. We could easily hear a woman speaking all the way across the place. When it is full, the noise would be deafening. We were 3 adults. The bread was good, but it is not made on sight. We started with calamari. It was a B to B+ in quality. We followed with a pasta with sausage. That was quite good. One nice touch was they put it on 3 plates for us to share. We gave this an A-. (We do courses in an Italian restaurant, the same way as in Italy.) We followed with a Suppe d' Pesce. This was reasonably good, but not generous the way one often expects. I gave it a B. We ended with a veal caprese. This had very bland taste. I gave it a B-. We shared a bottle of Barbera d' Alba at $34. One of their cheapest bottles. I own a restaurant and the best values are often hidden in the unknown bottles, or at the very high end. A $34 Barbera is a much better value than the more popular $34 Chianti. My wife also had a glass of Merlot for $6.50. (Fair price would have been about $5, but ok.) Total meal $145 for 1 appetizer, 1 pasta, 2 mains, a bottle of wine and 1 glass. This was enough for 3 people. The waiter was competent. I made it clear to owner and others on several instances I also owned a restaurant. This almost always will be met with a free drink or a free appetizer, as we do for other owners in our establishment. (It is a courtesy most places extend to others.) No response at all. I even made it clear I drove 150 miles to eat there. They shrugged. That seemed strange. I give the place a B- overall. We thought the food acceptable, but nothing to write home about.

It’s nice that they renovated the front and it looked promising. So we wanted to try it out on a Tuesday night. We ordered antipasto and fritters mista. The food was ok. But we had to ask 3 people to get some bread and took a long time. So I had a feeling we have to be patient with the phase of service with this restaurant. The restaurant was half full and we waited for our food. (So this in halfway dinner an hour passed and we’ve only been introduced to our server and only seen him once) That’s ok as I want to be patient and have a good dinner experience. Except two entrees came out dry and cold. I want to be patient and wait for the server but half of the table is already done eating. So I stood up and ask help to get our food right at least so we can enjoy it. At this point I’m just forcing it to enjoy the evening as we also have asked 3 people for condiments that we never got. All in all at least I know IF I go back I would have the lowest expectations. I wouldn’t personally recommend this place. Wish them for the better so others won’t have this kind of experience.

First visit here and it lived up to all the excellent reviews. Family run establishment and they keep an eye on everything. Service was outstanding. Salads were fresh, not pre- made which is something hard to find anymore. Veal Parm was as good as anything I've had in any large city. Excellent Carrot cake. Deep wine list. We will be back.

What a great find this little restaurant was! Be sure to make reservations! We did. The place was packed with those who were already seated and at the bar. The bar area is very small, so not much waiting room. We arrived early and had a great cocktail! Our table was nicely set and our server was delightful. The escargot was amazing served with the bruschetta! Great wine menu, the Chianti we had paired well with everything ordered. Our veal was cooked to perfection and the sauce was amazing. We had their flourless chocolate cake! Yes, I'll have another thank you!

It is with great sadness that that I post this review about what once was one of my favorite restaurants. My husband and I have been loyal customers and fans for decades but last night we went to Nino’s on Cheshire Bridge and were treated to a sandy spaghetti vongole (at first my husband thought I broke a tooth - thankfully not, it was just a mouthful of sand), rubbery bland veal with a quarter inch of cold mozzarella blanketing it, and dry spaghetti. Our server was attentive, and we did not ask for anything to be refunded but I did ask for a replacement for the clam pasta because it was inedible. We did not mention the other concerns to our server and left more than a 30% tip and kind words about the good service. On the way out, we wanted to share some very carefully worded constructive feedback with the new owner about our experience saying to her that we felt the kitchen was having an off night. Well, we will never know if that is true because we will never return to Ninos. Why? Because we were accosted at the host stand by the “chef” who stormed out to proclaim to the dining room that he was an owner too and that we were wrong and that his clams were fine yesterday and that he could cut the veal with a butter knife. Not sure what veal he was talking about because we didn’t mention our issues with that dish until he became argumentative. Perhaps he confused us with another complaining customer. For the record, we attempted to quietly assure both owners that we were merely trying to offer friendly feedback as we loved the restaurant and wanted it to continue to thrive. But this owner “chef” escalated his volume and his aggressive posturing and even followed us out into the parking lot yelling at us. Who does that? He was very hostile, rude, and devoid of the class that we have come to expect at Ninos. And he seemed completely unconcerned that he was going to lose our business forever. Apparently, loyalty at Nino’s only works in one direction. They’ll take your money and then you can take their abuse. I’ve never been treated like this and it’s crazy that we paid $300 dollars for this meal. It has become a trashy operation. If I could give negative stars, I would do so. Such a shame.

We've been to Nino's many times over the years. It's still the same - dimly lit, cramped tables, forgetful servers. But if you order carefully, the food is great. Look around at the other tables as you walk in and check out the fare. If you like a lot of red sauce, get the lasagna or eggplant parmigiana. If not, carefully read the menu or ask the server. I'm on a diet (so why would I go Italian?) but I had a great sensible meal. First I opted for the veggie medley instead of the side of pasta. My entree was Pollo Alessandra - a wonderful breast of chicken topped with a thin slice of eggplant (not breaded), cheese and red sauce. I started with the Insalata della casa, a light salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing and no croutons. My wife had Melanzane Parmigiana, which is like lasagna but has thin slices of eggplant instead of pasta. We both enjoyed our meals. I would order the chicken again, even if I wasn't avoiding wheat products. I forgot to mention that Nino's is on Cheshire Bridge Road, the epicenter of gentlemens clubs, smoke shops and adult novelty stores. So enjoy the ride there.

We visited on a Friday evening and were a party of 7. We had made a reservation in advance and were given a small private room for our group. It was great to have our own private space. The restaurant is unique and quaint. The service was excellent. The server brought out some fresh/warm bread with butter and some bruchetta to snack on while waiting for our meals to come out. I ordered eggplant parmesan (Melanzanne Parmigana). It was delicious! All entrees are a la carte. Everyone in our party enjoyed their dinners.

If you are looking for real authentic Italian cuisine this is the place for it! The food is amazing and the variations are incredible. I recommend that you dress in casual clothes because it is a little upscale, but not needed. The food and service were great all around. I was impressed how efficiently all the space was used in the restaurant and the wait staff moved around it with ease. The building looks older, but that will fool you if you don't see the inside. Dimmed lights help to accent the mood and enhance the romance if you are out for a date night. There isn't a kids menu so if they don't like real food that is different from the mainstays like Olive Garden, Carrabba's Italian Grill, or Ramono's Macaroni Grill, the kids will not like it. I highly recommend this place!

Great Italian Food and atmosphere that's well known to the locals and discovered by visitors to Atlanta. Food is well prepared, try the Calamari lightly fried, Fettucine Michela w/shrimp and scallops or the Salmon Alla Paolo. Service is friendly and attentive. Very enjoyable evening with food and friends.

We love this place, and celebrated our engagement here last year, and continue to visit. We were there on Friday night. I thought I had already reviewed it, but had not; The food is authentic and always fresh. It's family owned, and someone from the family always seems to be there. Most likely you'll have a wait on weekends if you don't have a res, but the wait never seems unreasonable. It has a small bar area to have cocktails while you wait. Love the small intimate restaurant. Outdoor covered and heated seating as well.

Because Alfredo's closed, we have begun our journey to find a new Sunday night place. Nino's ain't it. We tried it out and here's the report: The service was terrible. We were ignored for much of the night and it was not busy. It was notably deficient. The food as a whole was bland and lacked seasoning or complexity. The muscles were mediocre, the shrimp scampi blah and the veal shop was terrible. Alfredo's served a large, charbroiled veal chop that was incredible. At Nino's it was a flimsy piece of unseasoned meat. The wine selection was much better than Alfredo's — but everything else was awful. Our search continues.

Had the pleasure of dining at Nino's with my wife and two friends recently. Had a wonderful experience. The Veal Chop was outstanding, and we had a couple of delicious bottles of Chianti, to boot! I always enjoy this place and this past visit was no exception.

My husband and I were celebrating our 45th anniversary; our friends were celebrating their 32nd anniversary. Nino's is said to be the oldest family-owned and operated Italian restaurant in Atlanta. The service was very good and the food was excellent. If you have room for dessert, be sure to have the canolli (just as good as Ferraro's in Little Italy).

We were disappointed to experience poor food for the first time in many years. Many “changes” as we were told. Obviously, they’ve cutback on quality. Service was very unprofessional. Going elsewhere next time. Shame. Used to be very good! No longer.

We were tried-and-true fans of Alfredo's and very sorry to see it close. We had not been to Nino's before, but our Atlanta friends told us we should try Nino's because it was great Italian food. And it IS great Italian food. It has a similar vibe to Alfredo's. We opted to sit inside because it was very hot outside, but they do have an very inviting open air outside seating area. We were a party of three. I had the filet steak with a side of pasta...excellent; my friend had pappardelle with prosciutto and he said it was excellent. I forget what the third person in our party had, but she text this morning and said it was very good. I thought the drinks were very good and ample portions. Definitely get a reservation. There's a tiny bar area to wait for a table, but I suspect it's often full. I visit Atlanta every few months and I will definitely go back.

We were a party of four looking for a real Italian restaurant and found Nino's. The food was above average and the service was excellent. I had Veal Parm and it was so big I could not finish it. The décor reminded me of Italian restaurants when I was a kid growing up in New York. We visit Atlanta on a regular basis and will return to Nino's.

Nino's has become our favorite place to go when we go to Atlanta! Don't let the area fool you, Nino's is a hidden gem! Stepping inside is like taking a little trip to Italy, from the decor, the music, the Italian speaking staff and of course, the meal. We have yet to be disappointed. The last time we went (this weekend), we had a show at the Fox so we were rushed (reluctantly because slow dining at Nino's is a treat!) and the staff did an amazing job getting us in and out with plenty of time to get to the show. I would like to mention that the wait staff is ADORABLE!! They are attentive and work as a team to make sure your experience is the best! If you have a chance, I would highly recommend giving Nino's a try!

The ambiance was great! Very quiet, a little too dark for me. I couldn't even read the menu off the candle light on the table but nothing biggie. The food was good however, the service was way slow for a monday night! For some reason, the server kept pushing me to order appetizers or something else apart from the main entree. I certainly would mention that parking is a bit difficult unless the adjacent lot is available too! Scoutmob discount was the icing on top!

Lovely old style Italian restaurant! We enjoyed an evening full of wonderful drinks at the bar from Drew, followed by an excellent dinner. The bruschetta is awesome as are the muscles! I had the grouper special and it was really outstanding. The coffee is strong so be aware of you order it with dessert!

We love going to Nino's monthly. My wife loves the salmon. The veal parmigiana is always my go to dish. Super friendly staff and great service

Not sure how we got directed to this place but drove into a "not so nice looking neighborhood". We almost left before going in because it seemed in an isolated area (we were from out of town) and did not expect much. Even the outside of the building was not much. However, the parking lot was overflowing and with many nice, upscale cars in it. We thought that was interesting so we decided to go in. We were very warmly welcomed and seated right away. The place smelled wonderful and had an old world charm to it. There were many families dining in what I remember as a child for family dinners out in the Italian community I grew up in. We were served quickly and pleasantly. Everyone in the restaurant was very energetic and busy just like an old fashioned Italian restaurant. Food was DELICIOUS. Home made ravioli to die for. Nice people. Family people. Real families dining; fun watching them at big tables full of expanded families. Very clean and not a spec of dust even on the light fixtures over the table. Left with that warm fuzzy feeling and a full tummy. Very romantic atmosphere. We took their card and will go out of our way to go again whenever we return to Atlanta. Starving for that ravioli again!

I dined with my extended family, two tables. Unfortunately we were a placed right near the kitchen entrance. The food was great, service very attentive. The commotion coming from the kitchen was a little disturbing but other than that, it was very good. 3 people got the grouper special and thought it was outstanding.

This place has been around for many many years and I'm glad to see its still around. Parking is limited but enough. Reservation is good and get seated pretty quickly. Seating space is a little tight but comfortable. Love the decor and lighting. Menu is quite extensive and you can find something you like. We came for our teenage daughter birthday. Calamari appetizer is excellent. Wine price not bad. Service is friendly and good pace. Bread is excellent. Grouper special dinner is good. Seafood stew with pasta is ok. Veal with 3 cheese is good. Slow cooked 4 hour lamb shank is very tasty.

We have been eating Italian food at this gem for 30 years and continue to love it. Our last meal last week was celebrating a friends birthday. And this visit seemed to be better than its normal wonderful. On this visit we had the Veal Marsala (not on the menu) and two orders of lasagna. Complimentary bruschetta was brought to the table and quickly consumed. Great part was it did not have too much garlic. The veal marsala was to die for. Perfectly cooked thinly sliced pieces of veal in a marsala sauce that would have one eating anything. Served with a side of pasta and we picked angel hair with bolognese. It also was wonderful. Then there were the two ordered of lasagna. Some of the best we have every had. Perfect balance of meat sauce, noodles, and cheese. All of the food came out piping hot which only adds to a delightful meal. We had cocktails and wine. And let me tell you about their cocktails. They DO NOT skimp on the adult portion of the drink! Our server was a delight. Especially when he realized that we were in no hurry and wanted to visit for a while. At the end of the meal here comes the dessert cart. We chose the tiramisu and he sliced the biggest piece I have ever gotten at any restaurant and he said this in on me...Happy Birthday. What a class act. Love this place and will always make it a place for special occasions and any other reason. Atmosphere is warm and cozy and just reminds one of Old Italy. Can't wait to return. Highly recommend.

Nino's offers the most authentic Italian atmosphere and food you'll find in Atlanta - or anywhere out of Italy. Antonio - the owner can often be found stalking around table by table - or even seating some evenings - you can tell he's proud and for good reason. I eat here every time I am in Atlanta. The food is full of Tuscany - brimming with Italian seasoning. My favorites are the Pasta alla Vodka and the Stuffed Mushrooms. All of the starters are worth a try - and the house wine is always a winner. It's not cheap, but I find it to be quite reasonable for the quality of food and service.

While visiting Atlanta, we wanted to find a casual but very good Italian restaurant for dinner. We read about Nino's and it was close to where we were staying so decided to check it out. We were seated immediately and it was almost full on a Monday night which was a good sign. Our waiter was extremely knowledgable and recommended a delicious Nebbiolo from the selection of reds which were mostly priced in the 35-55 dollar price range. We tried the carpaccio appetizer to share and it was very tasty although needed a little extra balsamic which the waiter brought for us. Then it was eggplant parmesan and veal parmesan. Both were delicious! The eggplant had a layer of ricotta that really made it stand out and the veal was melt in your mouth tender. The portion sizes are easily big enough to share. For dessert, we tried the almond tart with ice cream and it was wonderful. You can't go wrong with Nino's...we will be back!

Neighborhood in upscale transition-while Nino's is all about tradition. Great service coupled with a convivial atmosphere and outstanding cuisine make this an awesome dining experience. Fresh seafood, hand made pastas and an outstanding wine collection combine to deliver great value added.

Visited many times back in the 70's, haven't been back in years. Although the faces have changed, the great food has not. A great local place, casual, large menu, friendly service, good size portions, and a reasonable value. Not many places you can get a grilled veal chop anymore, but still on the menu here. Worth a try, no matter where you live.

I've been coming to Nino's for years, and I'm quite surprised by all of these 5-bubble reviews. Several years ago, Nino's was a solid 4. Unfortunately, the food is not at the level it used to be. Let's start with the complimentary bruschetta that is served at all tables. It's average at best. It's basically wet tomato toast. I'm shocked that anyone is impressed by this. We had the mussels which are served in a dark red tomato sauce. The cost is $10.00 and you basically get 10 mussels. They're not bad, but I prefer my mussels to be swimming in a white wine/lemon sauce. We also had caesar salads which were most the vein of the lettuce and not much leaf. Dressing isn't bad, but it is definitely on the heavier side. And those croutons are straight out of a bag. S had the grouper special, which was pretty good, but certainly nothing to rave about. We had two negronis that were heavy on the gin, light on the campari. If you want a great Negroni, or for that matter, good Italian food, go to La Tavola, which is right down the street and see the difference for yourself. Service was on point. Prices are reasonable and I love that there is no valet. Plenty of parking in the lot. Sadly this was probably our last trip. Quality needs to improve before we come back.

This was our first time to Nino’s. We wanted a warm atmosphere for a family dinner with our kids. From the delicious mussels appetizer to the Chianti to the wonderful entrees, everything surpassed our expectations. The service was relaxed but attentive and knowledgeable. The vibe was cozy and old school. We will be back!

I have been going to Nino’s for many years but the last few times I have dined, the service was really bad, the food took forever and was average to say the least. I am not sure what has happened to this Atlanta Icon but it is not the same wonderful place it used to be. The staff was disrespectful and inattentive and management could care less. Very sad to say the least.

I always have a great experience here. The food is wonderful and the staff could not be better. It is nice to walk into a place and be greeted as a friend instead of a customer.

Truly disappointed.

Based on previous reviews, my wife and I had dinner at Nino's. Although it was our anniversary, management barely mentioned the fact ( I had called in advance and told them). First, the service was deplorable. Our waiter was distant and not particularly helpful. The antipasto was sloppy and minimal, to say the least. The bread/rolls were cold. The garlic bread was overcooked. My wife's veal dish was okay, but lacked any semblance of flavor. My entree was totally messed up. I ended up with a side dish of spaghetti which was covered in a watery marinara sauce. No one apologized or seemed to care about a hoped-for special dinner that was simply dreadful.

Recent visit with family. Nice Italian atmosphere. Full bar. Great calamari and also very nice Burrata with prosciutto. Homemade ravioli were great. Will make any dish a little spicy if requested. Very attentive staff. Will be back.

Expecting something above average but was disappointed. Atmosphere and service was very good but food didn't match the reputation. Onsite menu didn't match the online one which had more interesting choices but not sure they would have improved the experience. Charging for valet parking was an after dinner insult.

The atmosphere is like an old Italian restaurant in the Northeast. The menu items are excellent, but our favorite is when the grouper is on special. I would say it is the freshest and best prepared fish in the City of Atlanta. The service is excellent. All the waiters are customer oriented and help each table even if it is not theirs. Our favorite waiter is Jonathan, a mature, service oriented young man. If you have room, ask to see the amazing dessert cart.

Food was excellent but service was terrible! Servers were very nice but very slow and inconsistent with attention. One desert never arrived. Ran out of water. No apologies or explanations were given if they were short staffed or had some other issues.

My husband proposed to me at Nino's as he had heard the many stories of my Italian father taking my mom there for romantic dinners and of my parent's taking us for family dinner's since I was a child. REAL, Authentic Italian cuisine from simple to extraordinary fresh & hand made. Still family owned & operated. Will treat you like family & that's the best in this culture! Let them know Gino Vezzani & his daughter Andrea referred you!

From the moment you enter Nino's, you know you are in good hands. The menu is full of classic dishes and creative offerings to appeal to many tastes. The portions are ample without being wasteful and taste as good as they look. The staff works as a team to make sure your evening is enjoyable. I would highly recommend Nino's to anyone looking for a wonderful place to enjoy classic Italian cuisine cooked and served by people that truly care about their guests.

The first thing you'll notice when you walk in Nino's is the lighting. It's quite dark, too dark for my taste. My friends and I (there were four of us), were seated at a booth, which we all found a bit tight. The menu features very traditional Italian fare, no real surprises. Prices range from moderate to high. I had calamari as an appetizer. It was little too salty. The Lasagne I had as a main dish, was pretty average. The sauce was too sweet. I expected much better from a place like this. Service was friendly, but not overly attentive. The parking at Nino's is on the rough side, which was made worse by the rain. While I didn't hate Nino's, I'm not sure I'd go back.

My wife and I lived in Decatur for 5 years, during which time we attended Nino's maybe a half dozen times. Just a short drive away, it was our "special occasion" favorite for Italian cuisine! Service, atmosphere, wine... Oh, and the FOOD!! We recently moved away for career changes, but will surely be back to visit. Enjoy!!!

My family of five dined here for my birthday dinner and we all loved our meals. The bread was fresh and delicious - but nothing out of the ordinary. The same could be said for the Caesar salad - very typical (and in the future, I'd probably pass). But the home made tortellini was DELICIOUS as were the braised veal shanks! The veal parm (a signature dish) was a bit on the dry side - but still tasty. I'm not a big fan of the square slice of cheese on top - looks a bit pedestrian! But, overall the food was good and made for a nice experience. Our waiter, and staff, was attentive and even treated me to a piece of tiramisu for my birthday!
Good as it was 15 years Ago- South of France Owner was there, too-- YEA!!!!
As good as it was 15 years ago. We have been gone from Atlanta for over 15 years. South of France and Nino's were our favorite restaurant. Glad to see that something remains the same---EXCELLENT!!
