I always get the number 8, which is the teriyaki chicken, macaroni salad and rice. Been going here for years! It use to be up on S.E. Clinton but they set up on Fremont and brought all their business to N.E. Fremont. I recently got a large order of the macaroni salad for a party! Everyone loves it!!!

YUM and the prices are reasonable with the portions being outrageous! Makes me want to go to the islands... YUM

This one is on our 'regular' visit list - Love the #9 Chicken. Great staff, comfortable dining. Blueberry Tea is my after dinner pleasure. It does have alcohol - and is a nice cold weather drink.

Once a year our church (Ainsworth UCC) gathers at Noho's Hawaiian Cafe for dinner and fellowship. This event is also a fundraiser as the owners of Noho's contribute 20% of the nights proceeds to our church. That said, the dinner plates come in small, medium and large portions. We ordered the small and it was a very generous portion. I had the Pork plate with had teriyaki and Kuala pork with sticky rice and macaroni salad - yummy. This restaurant features a large beautiful patio behind the restaurant and I felt transported to a tropical get-away. Service was very good despite the place being full of customers. Finished our meal with coconut cake and pumpkin cake - both were delicious.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Portland for authentic Hawaiian food. The Mac salad is perfect as is the rice. We always get the ballah size and take it home and eat great food for the next 3 days. You can let them know if you want more rice or more Mac salad when you order. We lived in Hawaii for over 40 years and can’t recommend this place enough. Soooo ono.

One of the best Hawaiian restaurants to eat at! We try to eat there every time we come to Portland, friendly staff and always good food!

I believe I had a Korean dish with rice, lots of vegetables, and fish (can't remember the name), and it was excellent. The music coming in on the speakers was even good; just 80's new wave, not too loud on an early Saturday evening. Service was good too. Sat out back on the patio.

We discovered Noho's looking for a place for lunch after a dental appointment. We came back second time for dinner. What a nice find. We had the same wonderful waitress, my receipt says Ana C, who is everything you would ever want, personable, helpful and attentive. Both rooms in which we were seated have a bright fun decor and roomy comfortable tables. In our two visits we have ordered the Kalua Pork , Korean Ribs, Korean Chicken and a fellow diner gave us a taste of her Poke. We also tried the Mai Tai and the Stumbling Islander for cocktails. Everything tasted fantastic. The entrees are offered in three sizes which is great when you have different appetite sizes as my wife and I do. On both visits we found Noho's friendly and comfortable and the food incredibly tasty. Too bad we live 85 miles away, but we will be back.

I wasn't overly impressed with the food here..I had the Korean chicken... personally I think chicken should be breast meat not thigh as this obviously was.. My husband enjoyed his Siam special.. I loved the coconut cake tho.. That was yummy.. Service was ok..

But wow! Noho's was awesome! We were on the hunt for Beverly Cleary's childhood neighborhood and looking for a place to have lunch. We saw Noho's and decided to try it! Small restaurant with lots of surfboard décor. We were having a late lunch, but there was a continuous stream of people coming in on a wet and rainy day. I ordered the Kahlua Pork and my sister had the Pupu Korean Ribs and we shared a side order of Kimchee. I'd never had it before and it was always mentioned on MASH, so I wanted to try it! And it was only $1.90 for a small cup, so I ordered it. The Kimchee was good, with a little kick after, but I'd never tried it before so have nothing to compare it to. The pork was so tasty! Loved it! We ordered dessert, too. I had Mango Cheesecake and that was very yummy and my sister had the Coconut Cake and that was delicious, too! Aloha!

Our whole family eight met just before New Years at Noho's. They have the best Hawaiian food around. We especially love the Kalua Pork, the Kimo's Sweet Ribs, and Phil's Ono Chicken. We order the large orders including a vegetable plate and eat it all family style. We go there every time my sister is in town and also go in smaller groups.

if the patio is open, eat there. if it's not, eat in the "bar" area. the standard dining area is decent, but not as clean and definitely louder, as it's where the "family" seating is. the food...incredible. the portions...outstanding. they offer "regular," "menehune," and "blalah;" it is my experience that the meat portions do not change, but that these are the small, medium, and large options for side dishes. I am a 5'1" woman with reasonable eating habits and menehune is just fine for me. hubby is sometimes extra hungry and gets regular and is usually over-full (he's a 5'9" ish active man with reasonable eating habits). anyway you go, you could always have left-overs and the food is ALWAYS good (we go here pretty often). the only caveat is the drinks. while they offer an enticing array of adult beverages, they are all made almost entirely of sugar. I always think i'm going to get something delicious and that just maybe it won't be sickeningly sweet, but alas, it's almost unbearable to my sugar averse palate. some may find this wonderful - if you like sweet, any alcoholic beverage that has flavors you prefer will be good. overall, we're always happy with the service, food and atmosphere though - as I said, we visit regularly. with meals ranging from $7-$16 you really can't go wrong here. steak, chicken, pork and vegetarian traditional Hawaiian fare. LOVE it. not necessarily a great spot for a fancy date, but not necessarily a bad one for a casual one. we always enjoy our visits and keep going back - and even ordering cocktails every time.

Basically, my guests were mostly carnivores while I was vegan so we chose this restaurant to cater to their appetites. The restaurant was rather small but not crowded during our visit. My wife accompanied us on the trip and her comments made up this review. She had the Korean short ribs and said they were good but not as amazing as the ones we had tasted in Hawaii. The other guests were happy with their short ribs as well. One guests had the grilled teriyaki ahi tuna and felt it was very good. The only complaint was that the teriyaki sauce was too watery. The final dish of stirred fried Mahi-Mahi was the only disappointment. My guest felt the grilled version of Mahi-Mahi would have tasted better. Basically, the side dishes were much better in Oahu.

When we were in Portland and in need of an island fix, we were told about this restaurant. We were not disappointed. We walked in, were seated promptly. Waiter took our order and food was delivered in a timely manner. Meal was presented nicely and was ONO GRINDZ. We had 2 orders of Calamari Pupu’s for appetizers, for the entrees had the Teriyaki Steak, Mixed Plate and Ono Chicken Yakisoba. The wife had an Ono Melon Margarita. Price out the door before tip was $76.75. Recommend this restaurant if you are craving a good Hawaiian style meal.

Always willing to try a good plate lunch away from the islands. Have been to L&L's in Portland which is a franchise from Hawaii. The food here is similar to that. Typical teriyaki flavors on their meat which is delicious. They do offer extra sauce when you take out which I almost skipped but was very glad that I did not. My only critique of the meat was that it was not as thinly cut as I am used to and therefore a bit tougher that I am used to. Not exactly Rainbow's in Honolulu but really what is? The flavor was still great. I actually got the combination plate (#14) which was half teriyaki meat and 1/2 Korean sweet ribs. The latter was very tasty and very tender. Almost asked if they could substitute the Kalbi ribs but was glad I didn't. The mac salad was the typical Hawaii staple with a ton of mayo and little slivers of carrots. This place is adjacent to a large cemetery. I think if I were to eat mac salad everyday, I'd probably be closer to the cemetery. Prices were based on the size. Around $13 for the menehune (small) and $19 for the large. Would definitely go again. Lot's of parking around the restaurant.

I always enjoy the food and the price is reasonable. Music great! The one on Clinton is also a great place to visit. No music played at that location that I know of.

Went to Noho;s Hawaiian cafe for dinner. I ordered the Korean pan fried chicken ($13.95) which is Korean marinated chicken but pan fried with white onions and extra sauce, another ordered the Mixed Plate($18.95) which is Teriyaki Steak and Kimo's Sweet Ribs -- two of our favorites together on one plate, a third ordered Pork Mixed Plate($16.95) which is Kalua pork and teriyaki pork and the fourth a small plate of NOho's teriyaki chicken($8.95) Chicken marinated in our delicious homemade teriyaki sauce and char-grilled for an excellent flavor. All the meals were delicious, service was quick.

Been one of our favorite Portland restaurants since Noho’s early days on Clinton Street. The food has stayed consistently authentic and delicious. Went with a group and they all enjoyed what they ordered. We had Phil’s Ono Chicken which was wonderful and of course, loved the mac salad. Should have ordered the menehune (small) portion) as we even had to take home half of the regular size- huge portions that are perfect for sharing.

Great outdoor patio area/wonderful food/staff/prices. NoHos is very community oriented and is always helping out with local fundraisers.

We've been here several times and they have catered for us twice now. NEVER a disappointment. Eat on the patio when the weather is nice. We've gotten lucky with live music several times and it really does have that island feel. Order the blalah portion cause you'll want leftovers. Noho is a laid back Hawaiian who knows how to run the business. If you want some good food and a reminder of the islands this is the place. We have never visited the other locations but I'll bet they're good too.

I was a disappointed with the service. It wasn't busy. A Tuesday night, 7pm. Two servers on. 4-5 tables already there. Server didn't seem to care about anything. Food was just ok. Server dropped the check without asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. I was watching another table who waited awhile for their cocktails and immediately got their food right after. Maybe they weren't having a good day!

Just really good Hawaiian food with the right attitude. I loved the feeling of fairness with, what has been hard to find lately regarding reasonable prices and wonderful food with attentive but chill service. Really good. I think Noho is my new favorite.

I read the reviews and my buddy (who as far as I know has never been to Hawaii 🤷🏻♂️) loves this place and wanted to get take out for his Bday. Maybe he overhyped it, but it was okay. The chicken was dry and the short ribs were stringier than what I would have expected. The flavors were good and maybe if it were a dining in experience with drinks it would have been more islandy, but it was just okay.

How much can you eat? Each meal can be ordered small, regular or large. We like to get regular, eat half and take half home for tomorrow. So yummy and filling. Mom likes the beef. I like the traditional pulled pork. Meals come with sticky rice and the best mac salad away from the islands. In fact it is as soon as I had multiple places in Maui!! Great decor too. 85 year old Mom asked me "are surfboards really that big?" They have several beautiful long boards on the walls.

We enjoyed our meal at Noho's, and our group tried several things on the menu. The Korean chicken was good, but not as flavorful as some I've had. Stir fry shrimp was very tasty. The rice on the side was very bland, and didn't add a lot to the meal. Service was good, and prices reasonable. Beware - parking during busy times is next to impossible!

Noho's does most things well, some not so well, but their Kahlua pork and macaroni salad are slam dunks. Carl the owner, is super friendly and having lived in Hawaii sets the tone very well. His staff is cheerful, but not always reliable. We've had a couple of visits that were really not served well. My daughter swoons over the macaroni salad, and none of us can resist the kahlua pork. Best order the big blala size to have some leftovers to bring home. No need to reheat, the stuff is amazing hot or cold. Take out has been pretty reliable. Had to call/return on a couple of visits, but the order was cheerfully and generously put right.

Lots of nice Hawaiian decor! Excellent Hawaiian food at a reasonable price. Those from Hawaii and missing it, this will be nice place to go for food and bring back some memories.

Wow, just Wow. Food was so good we didn't want to leave and would have ate more if we were not full. Chicken Teriyaki was just delicious and a large portioned meal. However the Chicken Katsu was just the best dishes they must have. Tasted moist, crunchy and so flavourful. We made sure to finish the katsu as it would be a crime to have leftovers remain. To wash it all down, two longboard lagers was just the treat. Highly recommend eating here and would gladly return here anytime.

We felt transported to Hawaii as everything was authentically Hawaiia (both good and bad). To begin, weshared a huge bowl of Hawaiian soup and then the pork combo plate that had a very tasty mix of Kahlua pork and teriyaki pork. Rice was hot, plump and tender. The accompanying macaroni salad was just as bland as we remembered from the Islands.
A Five Ono Restaurant
Ate dinner here last night, ordered the number 11, the Korean Chicken regular size and it was enough food to feed two people or more. A plate stacked with char broiled chicken with scallions, two scoops of white rice, and a scoop of macaroni salad. It was great food at a tremendous value. The restaurant has a Hawaiian theme of course with plenty of surfboards, outriggers, etc as decorations . The service was good, the restaurant was clean, casual, and comfortable and I really enjoyed my visit. I highly recommend this restaurant because of the great value. You get a large amount of food for a very reasonable price and it tastes good. Hard to beat a deal like that.
