Lived up to it's reputation

By ukdavef |

My wife & I caught the monorail from Seattle Center to the centre of Seattle on Friday 13th May to do some shopping. At lunchtime we decided to find lunch somewhere convenient and settled on Nordstroms. The restaurant is very clean, very friendly and very efficient. We were dealt with as soon as we were settled, our waiter was friendly, took our order and brought us coffee, and even came and apologised for what he thought was a slight delay in our food being available. When it came it was well presented, it was delicious and worth every penny. All in all a good experience.

Good salad

By Craig B |

I had been eating some not too healthy food throughout the day and needed something like a salad. Nordstrom Grill served me a very good Cobb salad. I was dining alone, and got it quickly from a friendly server. Was pleased for sure. Would go back.

Hidden jewel in downtown Seattle!

By shadowmeboy |

Nordstrom grill is perfect for an upscale lunch or dinner to a satisfying meal while shopping. My wife and I regularly visit Nordstrom grill when we are in Seattle. The service is always to Nordstrom standards. Try the lobster bisque, it is fabulous. You cannot go wrong on their menu.

Pre-4th Dinner

By Surfpinky |

Our party of five visited this eatery on a late Sunday afternoon. The place was pretty much empty and we had a reservation through Open Table. The fish and chips were wonderful with aight beer batter and slim fries. The kids had chicken off the children's menu. Adult beverages made everyone happy. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The sorbet trio dessert was scrumptious. The chocolate car slice was huge. A great meal for everyone. Not cheap but hit the spot. We'll do it again. Beats a food court all to heck.

Decent food, and surprisingly affordable.

By Cameron J |

We popped in here on a busy Saturday of shopping. The food was a surprisingly good value given it was Nordstrom, and the staff dealt with the extremely crowded restaurant pretty well in typical Nordstrom fashion. The portions were a little small and the menu somewhat limited which is why I rated it avg.

Nordstrom's is the best place for lunch - no matter which city

By James M |

I visit any Nordstrom's Grill whenever I can. Their salads are the freshest and their vinaigrette is unique and memorable. I always pair my salad with the Lobster Bisque, and sometimes a sandwich. Whether in Seattle, Salt Lake, San Francisco, Portland, or Chicago, it's a repeater!

Affordable dinners in downtown Seattle.

By BlackyTheTravelhound |

We ate here numerous times for dinner during out trip to Seattle. It was a convenient location, close to public transit, etc. The menu was affordable and the food was very good. They had an excellent small plate happy hours.

Two words... Crab Bisque

By WS13 |

Two words... Crab Bisque. Get it. Love it. And what is better than getting a drink at the bar after work followed by a round of shopping?

Our favorite place to eat while shopping

By Jean S |

This grill is in the Nordstrom store. You order your food then sit at a table of your choice. Love their goat cheese and apple salad. My Grand daughter wanted a BLT... It wasn't on the menu but they made it for her

Marketplace Cafe: Efficient service, surprisingly good food

By Kris_K_D |

Initially, I wasn't sure what to think of the Nordstrom Marketplace Cafe, but I left with an entirely different impression -- that of an oasis amidst shopping madness. Diners will order and pay at the register first and are then shown to a seat for table service (or skip the line and go to the Takeout counter). While you might think this to be a bit "fast food," it was actually quite efficient without sacrificing Nordstrom-style service. We visited on a busy Saturday during the holiday shopping season and, in total, waited only about 15 minutes -- which gave us time to review the menu, order and be seated. This meant that after we were seated, it wasn't long until we received our order. We ordered sandwiches -- the Prosciutto Mozzarella Caprese and the Grilled Pesto Chicken, each served with a side of chips -- and both were surprisingly good. Service was equally good and the combination for this experience will earn the Nordstrom Marketplace Café our repeat business.

Very nice for lunch -easy access from the street

By Sir_Knight007 |

Had lunch here yesterday, was very nice and the service was excellent and friendly. For two with no drinks was $42.00. French Dip was very nice.

Blown away

By patti s |

Usually self serve, but they weren't busy so we got full table service. Great variety, all 5 diners had a fantastic meal. Recommend the arugula pizza, salads and grilled cheese.

Always a Treat

By PN655321 |

There are a myriad of reasons to come to Nordstrom Grill; The Crab Bisque is always heavenly and the French Fries have a good vibe to them. I have always liked the clubby ambiance to the place and I've never really had a bad meal there. That said, I wish they'd go back to the way the old Crispy Chicken Sandwich was dressed. It's much too fussy now.

Good food and plentiful

By Glen K |

We had lunch at the Nordstrom Grill on July 19. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was very good and plentiful. We had the fish and chips, there was 4 pcs of fish, lots of french fries and coleslaw.

Great Salads

By Judi D |

Decided to have lunch here after reading TripAdvisor reviews. The salad selection was fantastic. I ordered a chicken salad garnished with pecans and strawberries- delicious. Also, had a cup of Crab Bisque - delicious. Excellent friendly service. Our waitress also answered questions we had about shopping spots near Nordstroms. Be sure to include a stop here on your downtown shopping trip.

Great For Lunch

By gardentourgirl |

The Grill is on the 4th floor and at lunch often has a short wait. The menu is fairly heathy & offers good choice. You order & pay, get ushered to a seat & your food is delivered. Talble service is excellent. Recommend one of their salads, lots of fruits & quite large.

Lunch

Crab bisque soup......best I've ever had!!! Nice decor and our server was very nice. Truly impressed! My wife and I have a new lunch favorite in Seattle.

Delicious!

By Sarah |

I loved their menu and the food quality. Great service and a nice environment. I would recommend eating here with the girls.

Nordstrom Style!

By larrchar |

For a good lunch in a nice location, try the Nordstrom Grill in the downtown Seattle store! This is Nordstrom's Flagship store and they offer a very good menu. The salads are fresh and the beef sandwiches are very good. We love stopping here on a shopping day to enjoy a nice lunch in a convenient lt.

Delicious Lunch Spot!

By LMarkes3412 |

We were going to shop at Nordstrom's so planned to have lunch at their grill which exceeded our expectations. We shared some brussel sprouts and a chef's special shrimp appetizer that were excellen. The crab bisque was fantastic and my husband loved the BLT salad. If they offer you bread, slurge and say yes! We also enjoyed the berry cobbler for dessert. Overall a lovely lunch in a nice atmosphere with very good service. I would go there even if I wasn't shopping at Nordstrom's!

Unexpected Find

By Jimmie H |

While staying at the Grand Hyatt we were looking for a different place to eat and notice that the Nordstrom Grill had some good reviews. It was difficult to find but I am glad we found it. If you come in off the main road, you will need to go down stairs to and through the men's department. When we arrived I was starting to doubt my decision because no one was around to seat us. After a short wait, someone did appear and showed us to our table. Our waiter had good suggestions and he did a wonderful job taking care of us. We started with drinks and snacked on some sour dough bread. We liked the bread. I started with a cup of crab bisque and ordered the salmon with mushroom risotto. My meal was excellent! My wife ordered the grilled Halibut and my other two friends ordered a steak with potatoes and the crab Mac and cheese. I was able to sample everyone's meal and each meal was really good. We took our time eating and we enjoyed every bite. After our main meal my wife and I split a white chocolate bread pudding...it was amazing. It wasn't the best I have ever had but it was good and finished off the meal nicely. The Nordstrom Grill is quiet and different from all the tourist restaurants but the food is good and not too expensive. I would recommend going but only if you are hungry and looking for an off the beaten path, quiet meal.

Hidden Gem

By Karen J |

We discovered the Nordstrom Grill in August after returning from an Alaska cruise. Since we had not had enough fish on our cruise, we had Halibut and Chips. It was THE BEST!!! So, when we went to Seattle last week, we made sure to include Nordstrom Grill in our dining plans. This time, my husband had the New York Strip Steak with garlic spinach and smashed potatoes. It was FANTASTIC! Not only was it prepared perfectly, the meat melted in your mouth. We had to make a return trip before our short trip was over to have the Halibut and Chips. It was just as good as the first time we had it. Four pieces of halibut, a big pile of fries and coleslaw. It was perfect! They also have some delicious adult beverages, such as the Nor'easter. I highly recommend taking the afternoon off and enjoying a leisurely lunch at the Nordstrom Grill with the New York steak and Nor'easter. I do recommend that you make reservations as this is a very popular place and waits can be as long as 30 minutes.

Shopping and Lunch

By Gina B |

I am glad the cafe was affordable because Nordstroms is way out of my league. $950 for a beanie and $246 for little hand warmers is beyond my budget! But, hey, the food in the cafe was fresh and reasonably priced. It was so good that we went back again for their dessert. They were offering a pumpkin mousse topped w/candied pecans. We got it to go and brought it back to the hotel. Can you say heaven?

Overpriced below average food

By DiveGirl2014 |

My girlfriends and I stopped for what we thought would be a quick bite on a Wednesday night at a place we usually enjoy. We ordered at the counter and I scored the last Crimini mushroom flatbread and the last salted caramel cupcake even though it was only 6 pm. Wish they'd been sold out of both because neither were anything special - the taleggio cheese created a weird slimy texture with the other cheeses on the flatbread and the cupcake was bland. I added a cup of tomato basil bisque for dipping the flatbread and that was also a poor choice - all tomato, no basil. My friends thought their two pasta dishes were okay but we all wish we'd stuck with the sandwiches or salads we know are usually good. Service was strange - we stood at the end of the counter for almost 10 minutes waiting to be seated despite there being many open tables, the table attendant took our bills & never left us with receipts, it took us over 25 minutes to get our food, and I had to ask for my forgotten soup. With all the choices we had in downtown Seattle, we were so sorry to have wasted the time and money here.

Superb food and service

By LegalmomHouston |

I'd heard the food was good at the Nordstrom Grill in Seattle so I decided to give it a try and I am pleased that I did. I started with calamari, which was perfectly seasoned, crisp and served with a sweet thai chili sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I was fortunate enough to visit while Copper River Salmon (the best salmon according to the locals and they know their salmon) was on the menu. I had a Copper River Salmon Ciabatta sandwhich that was so tender. This was some of the best food I had during my visit to Seattle. I also liked the relaxed and somewhat casual atmosphere and the attentive service.

Great Meal and Experience

By Merril Y |

Been a frequent sober here since our daughter moved to Seattle in 2013. Superior Turkey Club... seasoned just right and perfect bacon, tomato and lettuce complement... White bean soup hit the spot. Engaging and friendly service top off a yummy lunch.

Surprisingly Good Quality

By Roary |

We stopped here for dinner as it was close to our hotel, the menu looked simple, wasn't too expensive, and I could find reservations on OpenTable. This restaurant is tucked away in the bottom floor of Nordstrom. It looks a bit dated (by design, I'm not sure). We browsed the menu and ordered the following: - Crisp Calamari - Good. Maybe a little on the small side, but well prepared and well seasoned. - Steak Frites (8oz flat Iron) - Very good. Flat iron was tender and well seasoned. Potatoes were also good. - Kids were happy with their kids menu chicken strip and fries and tortellini. Service was friendly and efficient. The only thing that was a bit of a surprise is they couldn't process a Canadian credit card because of the security chip. Their payment processing system assumes anything with a chip is a debit card. We didn't experience this issue with any other restaurants during a visit, so I'm guessing it's just outdated equipment, because even the restaurant manager wasn't able to process our credit card. Fortunately, we had cash to pay. Overall, a good visit. I didn't have a lot of high expectations, but the food is quite good. I would come back again because it's reasonably priced for good quality food.

Great hideout from the shopping crowds

By MarkRanchoMirage |

Stopped here on a busy Saturday for lunch and it is like walking into a Cathedral with a well stocked bar! Quiet, non-rushed, attentive service, and fresh options make this a place I always go back to when downtown. The turkey club is fresh turkey, not the processed slices you sometime get on clubs. The soups are always excellent-- the day I was there the special was steak barley: a rich broth with substantial pieces of meat and tasty barley. You can make a meal of that alone! The beer on tap is always fun but they make a mean bloody mary too.

Nice surprise

By Lizard316 |

While visiting Seattle we stopped at Nordstrom and my daughter suggested having dinner there, so we notice that they had a grill and a cafe both seem reasonably priced. However we decided to have dinner at the grill. You order at the register but the good is delivered to you. I ordered the roasted chicken pasts and she order the steak. J lohr wine for me and lemonade for her. It was great. Well prepared and tasty. The wait staff asked if we heated dessert do we did which I think if we had to order at the register we wouldn't. I had the carrot cake which was a good portion and she the creme brûlée. For less than $50 we had a great dinner. Like the atmosphere and the staff. Definitely will try the cafe at Nordstrom when we go back home.

Nordstrom never disappoints

By Dale H |

I went to the Nordstrom Grill for lunch with business associates. After a short wait we were seated and treated to a great lunch. I had a Cobb salad, one associate had a Dungeness Mac and cheese, another flatiron beef salad and the other a crab and shrimp Louie. The service was very good and the prices were very reasonable.

Just visited this busy place and loved it!

By simivalley1699 |

We needed some coffee and a little bite to eat - this is just the place to go to relax and get ready for more sightseeing.

Pleasantly Surprised

By Avid_traveler0710 |

Located back of the men's department, this quaint restaurant was pretty good. I ordered the fish and chips pictured below and the side mac, very filling! Took 2 bites of the mac, and took the rest to go. The halibut was excellent! Not greasy and contained the most fish than other restaurants I've been to. Their French dip didn't disappoint either. Service was good too. Will definitely go back.

Great restaurant inside an equally great department store

By AirWavesC42MKII |

Nordstrom's Grill easily qualifies as one of the very best places to eat in downtown Seattle. In addition 2 people can get in and out, with a glass of wine and tip, for under $60. I recommend going with the daily featured items. They're ALWAYS great!

Lunch before a ball game!

By shadowmeboy |

Our group of four are here before heading down to Safeco Field for a Mariner game. We enjoyed starting out with a cup of the lovely lobster bisque they have. Dip the fresh bread into it and you have a real treat. We each enjoyed our entrees. I had the burger, and wish they still put the whole onion ring on the burger, but it was still excellent. The server was really nice and very prompt on his service. Check it out next time you are in downtown Seattle!

So GOOD

By talk2p |

We were staying at the Sheraton down the street and were so thrilled to find this place for breakfast. I'm embarrassed to say we ate at a McDonald's our first morning, and never went back when we found this place. Our server was a local and so nice; he gave us all sorts of cool history about Nordstroms (they sold shoes to the Klondike people passing through along with Levi's who sold pants). Really reasonable. We had breakfast but the regular menu looked really good. Also, the light rail stops inside the building a few floors below...we made this our "place".

Great Food and Service

By SeattleTef |

When we go shopping and there is a Nordstrom's store in the vicinity, we have dinned at the Nordstrom Grill several times and have had exceptional service and the food has been consistently great! The kids enjoy the pizza's and the mac and cheese. Free refills on drinks and always there to make sure our experience is great. I would highly recommend the Nordstrom Grill and Cafe's.

Amazing

By Stacy M |

We had dinner here and it was absolutely amazing. I got the French onion soup and the grilled chicken and apple salad. Can not say anything bad about this at all. My kids enjoyed as well so this was a big plus for us. Great food and reasonable prices. We will return!

Delicious and Convenient Lunch Spot

By nylabuyer |

This is a delicious and convenient lunch spot on the lower level in Downtown Nordstrom. The service is good and this is a busy spot, even during the week. A reservation is highly recommended, along with the Asian Chicken Salad.

Reliable as always

By stevenr35 |

Often come here when in Seattle. Busy, high quality food and service. Reasonably priced. The menu hasn't changed in years but.....

Suprisingly good food for a department store cafe

By sgm2010 |

Line ups are long but move quickly so be patient because the food is worth the wait.

Good Dinner as our 2nd choice

By laurae |

We were venturing downtown for a show and missed our reservations at our first choice, so decided to pop into Nordstroms to try the Grill or Cafe. The Grill, which is located in the basement (near the mens section) has a full bar and heavier meals that what I have had at Nordstrom Bistro's. At 6:30pm on Friday the restaurant was not full and lots of open tables. I tried the club sandwich, which came with Fries that were very salty. It was a good meal, but would have preferred a lighter meal. Overall it had the feeling of a upscale steak house, dark and no windows to outside, but the price was okay. It was just okay, but nothing would stop me from going back, but nothing made me think I had to go back.

cozy respite

By BoysInTow |

Ate there three times over a weeklong stay. Comfortable, warm, upscale yet reasonably priced - especially for Seattle. Traveled for week with husband and young adult sons, all of whom loved it. Crab bisque is wonderful. Prime rib sandwich is enough for two. Roasted chicken is a favorite of ours. We also enjoyed the featured drink which was a rose sangria.

Good breakfast

By mjoytravel |

I was at a movie and ran into this place. It is in Nordstroms like the name and the wife and i fell in love with the menu. So i had breakfast there the next day. I had the bacon, eggs and creme brulee french toast with fruit and OJ. The OJ was very fresh and the meal was premium. I enjoyed it tremendously and would recommend it as a stop, if you want a good breakfast. It was only $15 and this is just about what you would spend anywhere downtown. Enjoy!

Hidden Gem

By Terri262 |

I would never have known there was a restaurant hidden in the menswear department at Nordstroms! I found this by reading reviews and am so happy I found it. We didn't feel like paying 5 star restaurant charges after our cruise so looked for something reasonably priced near our downtown hotel. The food was fresh, creative and beautifully prepared. After 4pm they have a "small plate" menu with items from about $3-$10. I ordered a Mensroom Red Ale for $3.00, and vegetable chips for $4. Unfortunately they were out of the crab cakes so I ordered calamari (appetizer actually) off the regular menu. The calamari was served in "sticks" that were perfectly crispy on the outside yet moist and tender (not rubbery) on the inside. The potato and sweet potato chips were amazing and so was the dip they served with it. My son ordered a beef dip that was huge and he enjoyed, and my husband ordered a blackened salmon salad. It was delicious and plenty of food. It sounds like the lunch hour is their busy time; so go for a light supper and walk right in. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent food-Excellent prices

By Janis I |

Wow, what a surprise. Not café like at all and delicious food. Amazing to find that in a department store but then it is Nordstrom and it is in Seattle. No trouble getting seated on the day after Thanksgiving even with all the shoppers. Would definitely go back.

Convenient & Yummy!!

By jillian07 |

Leave it up to Nordstrom to add another layer to your shopping experience! The Nordstrom Grill is upscale and the food was delicious. My husband also enjoyed the fact that he could have a beer with his lunch - relaxed husband, better shopping experience for the wife!!

Love the food, hate the parking

By tottoro89 |

The food were very good, and the service was just as good. A little pricey, but it was worth it. Location is really great, but you have to pay for parking. I think they should at least validate for parking, since the price of the food is a little pricey.

A place we go quite often before theater- quick and dependable

By Pepper |

WE are so boring- we always get one salmon plate-= delicious, one big salad ( varies( and a chocolate dessert- always great. Quick service, comfortable seats and really convienient to a number of theaters. Good prices- not romantic- but very good ood and never had a failure there yet.

Very Good!

By algebraqueen |

We were there at around 1:00. The relatively spacious and pleasant venue was still buzzing. We were shown to a table between two loud ones, so we asked to be moved - no problem! We chose the clam chowder and the crab cakes - delicious and perfect for a quick lunch! Thank you.

Amazing drinks for a shopping experience

By Sara Arno |

If this is the upstairs bar at the downtown Nordstrom……the best Old Fashioned ever!! Good ambiance! A really good bartender

A nice surprise

By SteveSilverman |

We had just arrived in Seattle and it was 3 PM. We were recommended to several places but they were not open at that time. We decided to eat here. I had the best French DIp sandwich that I have ever had. The bread was warm and crusty and dip was also hot so it was great. My wife had a salad and it was also great.

Onion rings!

By Vanessa201149 |

we ordered the saled we like, chicken with ginger and mandarins etc and decided to try the onion ring appetiser. When they arrived we could not believe it. There were 6 each and they were huge. I eat alot and I could only manage 4. They were very good though.

Alaways an excellent panini and lavendar sparlking water

By ponygirl15 |

I hve got to say that I have eaten here multiple times, not just because I get Nordstrom Points, when I pay with my card. Their paninis and salads are always excellent and today was no exception. I usually eat at the Bellevue or South Center Grills and teh service is always excellent and the atmosphere is quiet. Today we ate at the Seattle Grill, not so quiet. Really busy, service was not as fast but the wait staff was still attentive. Good place to eat because the quality of the food that I regularly eat there is consistently good.

Shopping Up, AND great food Down, at the Nordstrom Grill Downtown Seattle

By CathyB70 |

I visit the Nordstrom Grill every time I am in Seattle. The atmosphere reminds me of New York, a cute little place tucked away in the corner of the basement level. It's ALWAYS busy, but you never wait long for a table. I love the attentive and charming waitstaff...but most of all, the food is consistently EXCELLENT. For the price,I feel the value is great too! One of my very favorite lunch dishes is the Crab Louis salad. Huge breaded prawns, a light 'Louis' dressing, and plenty of fresh crabmeat. With a piece of the Grill's warm signature sourdough bread, and a glass of crisp white wine...It doesn't get any better! Last time I was at the Grill, I forced myself to have something different, and had the most delicious steak frites. The steak was perfectly cooked, and incredibly flavourful, and the fries were hot and delicious. I now have 2 favorites. I look forward to my next visit to Nordstrom to do 2 of my favorite things...Shop, and EAT!

Excellent - What else would you expect from Nordstrom?

By karinnat |

The food here is delicious, and this being Nordstrom, if anything is not to your liking the staff is more than willing to make it right. I especially like the salads on offer - ingredients are fresh, and the dressing is always so tasty. A great lunch or early dinner type of restaurant, maybe for a quiet break from shopping? Tourists be warned, this restaurant is in the basement of the flagship store and so no windows or views. Great place to people watch, this is one place where you probably won't see that slobbish Seattle fisherman at sea look. Lots of locals and employees (esp at lunch) who are always dressed to the nines!

A Great Menu/Nordstrom Seattle

By SeattletheBest |

My wife and I always enjoy going to the Nordstrom Grill whether it be at their flagship store in downtown Seattle or the store at Bellevue Square. The menu is diverse. They start you out with a great, crusty French bread. My wife ordered the French onion soup which was great. They put a generous amount of cheese broiled on top. I had the prime rib dip. Both were excellent. In addition to a standard fixed menu they have a daily sheet as well.. All of the food is prepared well and I am sure that we could have found a number of dishes which would have satisfied our palate.

Good food, uneven service

By Brimsmith |

It's been a long time since we've been to the grill, but it's really worth it. We asked to split the grill burger. It was a good decision. They cut the burger in half, plated on seperate plates, gave us both full serving of fries. That was good. When it came to getting the check, though. We had to ask another waiter to bring the check. Then we waited for the waiter to come pick up the credit card. After waiting, and waiting, I went to the bar and paid the check there. That wouldn't have been a problem, but we were pushing up to curtain time for a show and had to get moving.

Terrible experience, overpriced.

By lkzier |

Food was outdated and bland. Overpriced. Service was incompetent. Don't waste your time.

Very good for a restaurant in a mall

By Shermann1977 |

The restaurant came convenient for us since we were shopping and had to take the light train to the airport which stops just at Nordstrom. Pleasantly surprised by the menu I took the ginger chicken salad which was delicious, sadly my wife's chicken paillard lacked of taste and my kid's pasta was 'en bloc'. The service was very helpful and friendly. Good value but the location is obviously not a turn on. Would recommend it if u don't want to waste time looking for a restaurant after shopping

Food was good service was terrible

By Kayelene L |

Called and made reservations for 5. Arrived on time and was seated quickly. The restaurant was not busy, a lot of open tables. We placed our order. Arrived in fair amount of time. That’s when it took a turn for the worst. Waiter delivered our food, then waited 15 minutes to check back on us. My sons grilled cheese was burnt, my steak was not cooked correctly, needed steak sauce, and all of our glasses needed refills, on a positive note the mac and cheese was very good. The waiter did offer to replace the food but I was over it at the point and did not want to wait anymore. Ask for the bill and left.

Great meal in a fun spot

By KMKD00 |

When I was little, being able to eat at a sit down restaurant in a department store was a huge treat. But all the department stores around me stopped having restaurants in them years ago. So when I came across the Grill in the original Nordstrom, I was very excited to try it. And it was amazing. The actual restaurant was very nice and I loved the old pictures on the walls. The service was fast and the meal was excellent. I had a french dip and fries and it may have been the best one I have had in years. Would recommend the location and the sandwich!

Hidden Gem on the Bottom Floor

By Michael B |

On your next visit to Seattle and if you're downtown, step into Nordstrom on Pine, head to the bottom floor and enjoy a visit to the Nordstrom Grill. Not only will you enjoy a great meal, you'll have a chance to set back into Seattle's history as the walls are graced with historical shots of Seattle. Each time I visit Seattle, the Nordstrom Grill is on my list to grab a bite to eat. The French Dip is one of my favourites. The staff, the food and the experience have always been wonderful. It's a quick walk from any downtown destination and worth the walk. So on your next visit to Seattle, skip the tourist traps and have bit at a department store.

Amazing food!

By Edenhills34 |

Everything was excellent. Moderately priced. The crab bisque was absolutely amazing. Top service as well.

Great Little Hideaway

By freestylefoto |

Loved it. Read a review in Seattle Magazine and thought we would try it. Simply put, awesome. Crab bisque was amazing. Halibut was also amazing. Beef deep with REAL roast (not a processed roll). Harkens back to the day when the store was built. Reminded me of the Hudson Bay in Vancouver back in the 70s when it had a similar restaurant.

Take a Break From Shopping, Enjoy Great Food

By Paramount81 |

The restaurant, within the Nordstrom flagship store is billed as a grill, hoping to evoke memories of dark paneled walls, brass light fixtures, and general age. It doesn't quite manage all that, but the food is nonetheless very good. Though the brightly lighted atmosphere feels more like a brief respite from shopping, you can relax and get a very good meal. Our fish dishes here were excellent, carefully prepared. The service was very prompt. Our waiter offered helpful suggestions. The wine list is very good. Our desserts were likewise excellent.

Great Food

By djhall1 |

The grill closes at 8pm,so bear that in mind.It has a decent menu range of grill fare.We had 2 meals, the haddock and the crab pasta. Both were cooked extremely well and tasted great. The service is prompt and polite. Not really a romantic place, but good for shoppers on Pine St,and also grabbing lunch and breakfast.Recommend.

Amazing Crab Bisque!

By James S |

OMG! You need to try their crab bisque. They had it on a Friday and it was the most amazing bisque. Delicious flavor and chunks of crab-yum!

Great place with great food selection..

By prettylobster |

After walking around and shopping for shoes, we stopped by to try their food. Enjoyed our sumptous lunch and service was great. Definitely will come back for another satisfying food experience when there.

Great Food Nevermind It's In Nordstrom!

By S Y |

I have business lunches here all the time. We love it. Always an exceptional meal, never disappoints. Great daily specials and price is right. Budget diners - get a bowl of crab bisque and bread and you will be thrilled. My customers enjoy all the salads, specials are wonderful and the bread - ohmy. Ask for a booth for privacy and a bit more comfort as the chairs are hard. It gets a bit noisy so expect that during lunch busy hours. Gracious service with a smile, accommodating, and get a reservation to get the table of your choice. I have not had to wait for a table for 4 or less. If you love the food, Nordstrom sells cookbooks with the recipes. Don't confuse this with the cafe - the Grill is a full service restaurant.

If you like snobbery

By Mark V |

We decided to try the grill based on trip adviser. The grill was empty when we arrived and we were asked, in a 'tone' of the elite if we had reservations. Once seated the service was slow and pretentious. Two of our three entrees arrived via a server and he assumed the lady had the salad. He was wrong. He assumed the man had the burger. Wrong. It was not so much the error but the pretension. The food was ok, but the air of fake wealth in the room was thicker than the soup.

A well worthwhile $15 splurge, to enjoy the tastiest charbroiled hamburger and fries around. The burger patty is thick and cooked to order. The fries are shoestring fries with just the right amount of seasoning on them. You'll also get one of their homemade pickle slices. The restaurant has a classy feel to it and the long time waitstaff provide excellent customer service.

Top Notch

By KarenH302 |

I always shop at Nordstroms but I had no idea this gem was inside. The Nordstrom Grill was actually recommended to me by the stewardess on my flight over. I had the crab bisque and fried chicken sandwich. Both were equivalent to any top restaurant. If there is a wait, the pager they give you works anywhere in Nordstroms.

Good food, fast service

By Sandy N |

This is a conveniently located restaurant inside of the flagship Nordstrom in Seattle. It's easy to pop in there while shopping. The food was good and the service was great. The prices are reasonable, so all around, a positive experience.

Great breakfast.

By Wendy W |

Had a lovely breakfast here. The creme brulle french toast is really tasty, yum - great staff and nice atmosphere. Love the store too, all the staff seem friendly and professional.

Not up to the usual Nordstrom standard

By Tracey L |

I LOVE Nordstrom restaurants and have eaten at them all over the country. The food here was very good, as usual, but the service just wasn't quite up to snuff. Our server was gone for long periods and our food was slow to be served. It was not a busy time at all. I just don't feel like he was "there". Maybe it was just a bad day-I hope.

Nordstroms Knows Coffee

These folks make a great drink. Skip the big chain and try these guys. They also have a nice selection of treats and non-coffee drinks.

A delicious respite from a day of shopping

By dahlia8 |

Tucked away downstairs this quiet spot is the perfect place for a meal after a day of shopping. There’s a full bar and a full menu. I ordered the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and a Cranberry bliss. Service was friendly and efficient!

Good food and nice staff

By SeattleJetsetj |

It was almost empty when we arrived at 11:30 am but it quickly filled up. We were given excellent booth that was so comfy. We ordered Calamari appetizer and it was crispy and had a good texture. There we some pieces of octopus in it too. My friend ordered the halibut and chips and she loved it. I ordered the grilled veggie salad and side of mac and cheese. The salad was super fresh with some Parmesan shavings and the mac and cheese was rich and flavorful. Over all really good but i thought the prices were a little $$.

Cozy dining in the downstairs floor of Nordstrom’s.

By marcopolopaloalto |

after a few hours of shopping in Pike’s Market and Nordstroms this is a nice cozy place to dine, and enjoy the quiet. No view, but quiet and reliably good menu items. The Cesar salad with the Parmesan crisps with a glass of wine was calming and nourishing

Awesome French Dip

By SilkyRichmond |

French / Beef Dip sandwiches have always been one of my favourite meals and the Nordstrom Grill version is possibly one of the best I have had. My wife had the halibut and chips and that was also quite tasty. All washed down with a couple great local craft beers. It was a pleasant surprise to find such great food in ta department store. Definitely worth a visit.

Haphazard service

By Rhensrude |

I've been to this restaurant before and have had good service. Today was the exception. Having just come from the March for Science, I was eager to sit down to rest. A woman was cleaning the table for the booth. I chose to sit at the edge of the table. She asked if there were others in my party. I said no. She indicated she could clear off a nearby table for me but I wasn't about to move. My beverage arrived first but without a straw. They usually also serve water. It wasn't offered or brought. I ordered the salad nicoise with grilled salmon. It was very good. The waitress did ask if I wanted a refill. I said yes but with less ice. Another waiter asked to take my plate. I asked about dessert. He said who was my server? I said it was the black woman. He relayed the message and after another wait, she came by. I asked about dessert. She didn't know the menu and went to get it. I waited again for her to come back for me to place the order. She brought the cupcake but disappeared before I could ask for a fork. Not wanting to wait further, I went to the cashier to ask for a fork. The man there brought it to me. The waitress had brought a bill for the dessert but never came back to collect my credit card. I never saw her again. I left enough cash but didn't leave a full tip because of the unsatisfactory service.

Yummy

I had an early dinner at the end of shopping. I was so pleased I went back again when I found myself here again the following week. Just cozy, quite place on the metro level of the store. Nice wine selection and specials. Very attentive wait staff. I was impressed . Try it out even if you aren't shopping ( which you should )!!

Superior fashion coupled with exquisite, affordable dining.

By Jonathan M |

Fashionistas know Nordstrom for their excellent offering of upscale clothing. Nordstrom applies that excellence for your dining pleasure. The ambiance is wood and leather with comfortable seating and exceptionally broad menu; traditional offerings which Nordstrom has presented for years plus daily specials to make your palate dance.

Good for Lunch Downtown When Shopping

By Rumples |

I find the Nordstrom Grill on the department store's top floor to be a perfect place to have lunch when shopping or running errands in Downtown Seattle. The grill offers good food, excellent service and a pleasant ambiance. Customers stand in a fast-moving line to order, pay and take the receipt to a table of choice. There, a server picks up the receipt and delivers the meal fairly quickly. Menu items include soups, starters, sandwiches, grill entrees and pizza. On a recent visit, I ordered a tasty turkey club sandwich, which came with potato chips, and a delicious chocolate brownie. James, my server, kept my water glass filled and was always attentive to my needs, despite the large lunch crowd. Sometimes I stop here for a shopping break and choose one of the baked goods to have with a cup of good coffee. The restaurant provides a nice respite away from the crowds during sales and holiday periods.

From now on, my go to spot en route to SeaTac.

By James M |

Stopped in for drinks and a snack before heading to SeaTac on the light rail. Had a fantastic server named Allyson I believe. So courteous, welcoming, and professional. We had an under age guest with us, so couldn’t sit in the bar, however she still served us as if we were vip customers. If you make happy hour, then don’t even bother eating at the airport. Nordstrom is such a better deal, and you are steps away from the light rail entrance. Looking forward to my next Seattle trip and next visit to Nordy’s grill!

Old faithful...

Some 12 visits in 2 1/2 years when we visit our daughter... Yummy food, service that fits Nordy's legend and a lovely and classic ambiance... Lovely soups of day, outstanding and fav turkey club, salads... That's why we always come back!

Ever Consistent and a Treat!

By Merril Y |

We visit our daughter in Seattle twice yearly for a week at a time and Nordy's Grill is one of our favorites! Delicious Turkey Club, sliders, burgers to hearty soups and salads to mains... In 3 years, we've been back over 10 times. Ambience and service are lovely also.

Good, basic pub food at a reasonable price

By chamoissammy |

My daughter and I recently visited. She always orders the French dip and I usually order the fish and chips. Portions are generous. If you like basic food, you can't go wrong here. Comfortable atmosphere, good for families. Service was attentive to the point of being instrusive. How many times should a waitperson interrupt a conversation to ask if how we are doing?? Never! but certainly not 3 or 4 times ...Will I go again? Of course!

cafe attached to Nordstrom

By kate554433 |

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but I ended up not drinking my almond honey coffee. I've had an okay chai from here, and I appreciate that they have almond milk. They have a variety of drinks that you wouldn't find at Starbucks - like different smoothie options, but to me the drinks are overpriced and I haven't been that thrilled with the drinks either. Service is okay, and I haven't tried any of the food items. You can enter Nordstrom from here.

Sunday lunch after shopping was very good.

By Shoemaven |

If you happened upon this restaurant without knowing it was in Nordstrom, you would be impressed by the intimate atmosphere and the enticing choices. There is also a bar-probably for those waiting for their loved ones who are shopping! My husband had the prime rib sandwich and was happy with the quality and size. I had the grilled vegetable salad which had blackened corn, asparagus, avocado, squash, shaved Parmesan etc. etc. and only $10. We both had the corn and salmon chowder which was sooooo good. Choices for dining in downtown Seattle on Sunday are limited, but we would go here for lunch any day of the week. And you definitely get the Nordstrom service.

The crab bisque is fabulous..not quite as good as Miami's but really nice..a dash of tobasco ought to do the trick!.

A pleasant surprise!

By YonatiaEdmonton |

Decided to have lunch after a long morning of shopping! Prices were reasonable do I was a bit worried about the quality of food- oh my goodness; the grilled shrimp salad was one of the best in appearance, taste and amount. Have the blood orange soda for a nice, light drink. It's carbonated and very refreshing. You order at the front like a cafeteria but the food is brought to you at your table. Atmosphere is very nice. Staff very friendly.

Pleasently Surprised

By Beck_and_Jai |

I was pleasantly surprised by quality and price of the food. The menu has a great selection of salad, sandwiches and the likes. We split a salad and a sandwich...very good! When you need to refuel while shopping, I recommend here!

Very impressive!

Halibut and grilled asparagus are tremendous! Very relaxing. Great service and best food I've had in Seattle yet!

Good food and service

By Ian F |

After reading other reviews we thought we'd eat here. It is nicely tucked away at the back on the Nordstrom Men's department on Metro. Staff were very nice and friendly. Food had a good choice and nice options for kids including gluten free pasta.

Good food, basic service

By Tsion A |

I went to Nordstrom grill in downtown Seattle for lunch and ordered the pan seared chicken paillard which came with arugula salad, red onion, petite tomatoes, and Dijon balsamic vinaigrette. The tomato and arugula were very fresh and the food came quickly after ordering. Service was very basic. The dish came with a sliced lemon and it was covered by a net to prevent the seed from being squeezed into your food-I was impressed with this attention to detail.

The food is just barely OK, but the annoying interaction model completely spoils it.

By sheriff88 |

The food was good, not great. A chicken club sandwich had burned bread, spoiling the taste. Also spoiled was the Margherita pizza which also had burned crust. Burned = black in both cases. It was is if the chef/cook was not paying attention to the cooking of our orders. The "organic tomato" soup tasted as if poured from a can. The interaction model is that you stand in line to order, order, pay, take receipt and sit, anywhere in the restaurant. Then, a waiter picks up the receipt, delivers drinks and (eventually) food, then they are supposed to return the receipt to the table. The whole process is counter-intuitive and annoyed us considerably. Doubly annoying was that our waiter failed to return our receipt, then became agitated and defensive when I asked to have it and then requested to speak with a manager. This waiter was NOT a good representative for the Nordstrom brand or this restaurant. Even though we shop at Nordstrom regularly, and have enjoyed the experience at other Nordstrom Grill locations, we will not return to this one.

Great Little Cafe

By ATL_Jacket |

E-Bar is a great little coffee shop, located in the first floor of the Nordstrom flagship store. The coffee is very good and the staff and customers are very friendly. I strongly recommend it!

Hidden favorite for a great meal

By bruceww |

To go along with a really great airport restaurant (Anthony's at SeaTac), Seattle also scores high on a hidden gem in the Men's Department at the Nordstrom Flagship Store downtown, Nordstrom Grill. We have been eating here for a better part of 10 years now and the food, service, comfort, and ambiance never fails to satisfy. Staples like the crab bisque are sinful, but if you have an aching for a really good hamburger, the Angus Burger is one of the best in town. The chef keeps the menu lively with variations on themes from seafood to chicken, all very reasonably priced for the quality served.

Consistent quality

By m H |

When I'm in downtown Seattle, this is one of my go-to places. The food is great, the service, wonderful and you must have the crab bisque. I've had crab bisque many places, but this is far beyond what you normally get. It has a bit of a bite which makes it incredible. Being in a large department store, you need to get there early for lunch or it gets extremely busy. I must say, it's worth the wait. Their cocktails and wine list are varied with many very good choices. I'll be going again!

The Locals were Right !

Stopped in at the suggestion of locals and they were right..this is a good lunch option in downtown Seattle. Not only do you get to visit Nordstrom's flagship store, but you can have a nice lunch here. Three couples dines here and we were all very pleased with the service, food, and experience !
