Wonderful Experience

By AIWIW |

We had invited 15 people for dinner on a weekend for dinner and received excellent service. Food was great especially the soups and the Cheesecake. All the staff was extremely helpful and prompt.. I would also like to mention that Eric and Fred provided us with top class service and took care of all our guests.

Great Place to Eat

By Mike F |

Didn't plan on eating here - it was near our hotel - excellent food and staff - we recomend to all to give it a try -

Disappointed

By jsflynn603 |

North China was not far from were I was staying and it has received good, and often rave reviews here on Tripadvisor, including one that clinched it for me: "the best in Houston." It was later in the evening and that may have been an issue. I got several items to take out, General Gau's chicken, pot stickers, and the interesting cold Spring roll. Everything was ready when it was supposed to be, the people were nice. The General Gau's chicken had good quality white meat, no gristle, the sauce was excellent and not too spicy nor too salty. But GG's chicken should be a bit crusty and this wasn't, it tasted like it had been sitting around for a few hours. The Spring Roll was pretty, the peanut sauce was delightful. Their Spring rolls are like a salad, essentially all lettuce rolled up. The Pot Stickers: Well, they were overcooked on the bottom which was not an issue for me, but the pork content was gushy and tasted uncooked. I have no issue with pot stickers that are steamed and then fried only on the bottom even though when I make them I cook them on three sides and use a thermometer. I ate one and threw the rest away. The next day I came down with traveler's malady and had an awful rest of my stay in Houston. Was it the pot stickers? I really cannot be sure but frankly I have my suspicions. There are so many good recommendations that I'll just assume that I lucked out but even if the pot stickers were not the culprit for the diarrhea I will not recommend them after all who wants gushy pork filling? In summation: I was disappointed.

Delicious Korean Noodle Dishes!

By cincin090 |

Wanted to come here to try their Korean style seafood noodle soup and their Jian Jian Mein. Both were delicious! Would recommend coming here for those two items but not sure about the other things on the menu. We did also try their calamari which was pretty good, but the fry on the calamari wasn't that great. It felt really greasy and heavy. :/ Looks like they cater more to Americanized Chinese food and I typically like more authentic Chinese food you would typically find in Bellaire. Overall, would come back for the noodle dishes!

Very impressed

By MHgypsy |

We had a wonderful meal and evening. The service was outstanding, provided information on the menu, explanations and recommendations. We had the Mandarin Egg Roll for appetizer. Different from any Egg Roll we’ve had. Delicious!! Awesome sauce and plenty to share. We had the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, the Eggplant dish, and Sweet and Sour Chicken. We both thought all dishes were fresh, flavorful and delicious!! We will definitely return and would recommend this restaurant.

What a find!!! Came here because

By CypressCarlos |

What a find!!! Came here because we were in the neighborhood. Their egg rolls are fantastic. The mandarin chicken amazing. Nice atmosphere and great service. A star above all other Chinese restaurants this side of Chinatown!!!

Excellent food, perfect for business lunch

By BigGeorge79 |

I had lunch at North China again yesterday. This time I had the Garlic Pork lunch plate. It exceeded by expectations. The pork was tender and the dish very tasty. I have spent considerable time traveling in Asia and appreciate good Chinese food when I find it. Service is quick and friendly, so it is a place that the many nearby office workers can use for lunch.

Pricy Soup, Lousy Customer Focus

By MrOcho |

I stopped in for what I thought would be a quick take out order for a small container of plain white rice and a quart of won-ton soup. I waited almost twenty minutes before I asked someone to check with the kitchen on the status. This got me the result I was looking for but then was shocked at the price … $12.44! At the end of the day the soup was just OK. Note that during my wait none of the staff made eye contact or made you feel welcome. I will not be back.

Excellent food

By Warren G |

This is my family's go to Chinese restaurant when we want to eat in. The staff are always friendly and the food is always cooked well! I have eaten almost the entire menu and never have I been disappointed.

Expensive

By 56003Richard |

Food was so so. Very expensive and the portions were too small for what we paid. We complained that a dish was too spicy to eat and nothing was done. Will not go back.

Longtime favorite

By Maryann M |

Followed this restaurant from its former location on Kingsride out closer to me now -- Katy on eastbound feeder right inside Highway 6. Food is as good as ever. Tried a new dish -- Pong Lai Beef -- which this diner found great -- garlicy, slightly spicy, with a vinaigrette touch. Was very, very good! Wait staff and owner are attentive and helpful!

A Long Time Favorite

By Texastochina |

Delicious dishes made with care and love. One the finest Asian restaurant in Houston. Nicely decorated, good service and wonderful food. Peter and April are the second generation to operate this restaurant and it does not hurt that they are so charming. We have taken many people here and they all love it. Highly recommended.

Upscale Chinese

By dflickd |

Our first visit. Busy, even though it was a cold night, by Houston standards. We were able to be seated right away. Out table was along the large window, which I would normally request, but it was a bit cool on this cold night. The staff is very friendly, the facility is very clean. The food - the menu is a little different from most of the local Chinese establishments, but not in a bad way. The dinner choices were very interesting. I was still able to keep my selection spicy with the Gan Sho Shrimp and my wife had the Garden Chicken. Both entrees were very good. We also started off with soup - Sizzling rice for my wife, and won ton for myself. The sizzling rice is the better option. While we'll still visit our other favorite Chinese cafes, this will become one of our favorites as well. The prices are a little higher, but so is the quality.

Nice food

By Jay |

Very good Chinese food, the ambiance is also nice. Specially try the dims oms with chilly sauce, you'll love it.

Consistently Excellent

By CBS-CHS |

Normally I don’t do reviews of our neighborhood restaurants, but this one deserves public praise for doing everything right. First, it’s a family affair with the owners always assuring a warm welcome and attentive service. Second, the freshness and quality of the ingredients used for their Mandarin dishes are a cut above at this price point, plus cooked and presented perfectly. Third, the menu is extensive, yet everything is always available, plated with a big serving and downright delicious! And, finally, the wine and beer lists complement the cuisine without being overpriced. All of this has been the case since 1976, and it was true again last night when we enjoyed another fabulous dinner. It’s just consistently excellent.

Odd decor for a Chinese restaurant

By SpongeKA |

While in town on business, me and the wife stopped by here for dinner. Everything is fairly normal until you get past the fish tank. Its decorated like an Italian restaurant with bottles of wine everywhere and it kind of makes you pause for a second and wonder if you wandered in the wrong door. We sat down and asks the waiter to recommend us a couple things. We ended up getting the Pong Lai Beef, and the Mandarin Hot Chicken (Not actually on the menu), both extra spicy. Neither was very spicy at all, the chicken was pretty good, and the beef was awesome! A tad bit pricey, but the food was good and we had a good amount of leftovers for a midnight snack later on.

Faultless Chinese Food

By Peaches_091 |

We are so thankful that this is our local Chinese restaurant. It is the best I have been to in the local/mid-price range and every dish that I have tried except for 2 dishes are all excellent in taste and quality. Basically whatever you order will likely be a hit. They also do a lunch menu which is a great deal and far less expensive than ordering off the main menu. My favorite dishes are the Pong Lai Beef and the Ma Po Tofu which I rarely see so well executed. Also excellent are the Yu Shing dishes and the Beijing dishes. Even potstickers are some of the best I have tasted. The 2 dishes I would steer clear of is the Sweet and Sour (the U.S have no idea how to do it properly and it is not a favorite as it is in the UK) and the Ja Chiang Mien where the black bean sauce is a little tasteless. The service is close to excellent with the staff being very helpful and friendly. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is that on 2 occasions they have forgotten to bring our order of noodles which I have had to follow up on (definitely keep this in mind as this might be a common problem) but it is so difficult to get annoyed with such pleasant staff.

Excellent Chinese Restaurant

By Bram S |

I've been to this Chinese Restaurant many times for lunch and have never been disappointed. The food is cooked fast and is delicious. I must have tried almost all the items from both the lunch and normal menu's and all simply good.

Quick Lunch!

By Ces G |

The lunch buffet salad and entrees are satisfactory! Nothing spectacular but worth the money! If you're on the west side of Houston and in a hurry, North China will fill the bill!

Work Lunch

By tClep |

Great place for business lunch with good service and food. Small Salad bar/appetizer is included with lunch menu.

Chinese in Texas

By 1Golfcrazy |

Chinese restaurant with good food and quick service. Great location with easy access off the Katy Freeway. The pot stickers and beef & broccoli are excellent

Best Chinese Korean fusion in Texas!

By 2HoustonTexans |

This is a top place to dine if you have a desire Asian. The service is top notch which is a rarity in Asian restaurants. The owners Peter and April have obviously executed a great business as they have been in business since 1976. Be sure to have their Sizzling Rice Soup, Beijing Fish, Mu Shu Pork, and Sweet Sour Shrimp. Unless you ask they will not bring their home made kimchee to the table. Great place for lunch or dinner!

Large portion but no veggies/ average food

By Gary C |

Save you money- average food- ordered 2 chicken dishes- only served chicken no veggies- no bell peppers or onions or carrots or broccoli- Not what I was expecting. Service was friendly and good. Place was clean and nicely decorated. $40/ dinner for two expected a soup and egg roll or crab puff included and some veggies.........

Still good as 30 years ago.

By suepark268 |

It's been a while since we visited this place and was reminded how much I enjoy their food. We first started to go when the owner was still in college and his parents ran the place, before they moved to the current location. The food is always consistent and in fact he has improved the business. They have the best noodles, and you just can not have a bad choice here at all. My daughter loves their sweet and sour pork. The crunchiness on the outside and tender meat with delicious sauce.. yum. The staff is friendly and courteous. A nice and friendly place for a family dinner.

Wonderful!

By FiveField |

Wonderful food with excellent service! There were no sauces, salt or pepper on the table; and we found out why when our flavorful food arrived.

Great Food and fast service

By 42kRun |

The staff is friendly and the service is fast. This restaurant has a wide range of dishes to choose from

Very Good Variety and Interesting Cuisine

By slhokie |

My wife and I were with a group of 10 who ate here. We ordered nine different entrees and sampled them all. My wife does not prefer Chinese places as she considers the sauces to be too similar. This was not the case here as the entrees were all very good and different. We started with a sizzling rice soup which was far superior to the normal soups served in Chinese restaurants. We had three shrimp dishes, two pork, one chicken, one beef, and two vegetable entrees. Two of them were spicy and for me had the right degree of hotness. We had flaming bananas for dessert. This is a family run restaurant which is well worth a visit.

A real gem!

By SuzyQinHou |

Went for New Year's Eve dinner with the family and again recently for the Chinese New Year. I can't emphasize enough how good the food and service is! It is your real old-fashioned white-table-cloth Chinese restaurant. I hate that they moved out of Memorial, where we went frequently. Now we have to think about it and make a plan to go, but will do so much more often. Everything on the menu is perfection!

Go for the Sizzling Rice Soup! Best in the World!

By hnasr |

This is a fantastic restaurant, I like everything especially the Sizzling Rice Soup with shrimp. In my humble opinion it is one the best I have ever eaten, add some soy sauce and chili sauce and you will believe me. The two shrimp (spicy ones) are fantastic, get the string beans. Cute non-100% Chinese décor. Service is A. It is a neighborhood restaurant!

Delicious

By Daouda |

I went here on a work trip a few weekends ago and I was blown away by how delicious the food was. The Beijing fish was my favorite dish. I’ll definitely go back when I get the chance.

Tasty chinese!

By GolferRan |

While the range of dishes here are somewhat "westernized" - the overall quality of ingredients and spicing is excellent. And the service was great too. A very solid choice for Chinese food!

Do not miss out

By Richard S |

Do not know how I missed this place for 30 years!!! Well, I found it now, that is what is important. Decided to take my wife and family here for her birthday. It was great! Service was very attentive and clearly knew the menu. As to the menu, the standard stuff but you also can jump ship and get something new you never heard of before, like the Pong Lai Pork, a crispy pork shoulder both hot and sweet and the egg rolls were clearly made in-house not some frozen drop in the oil you typically get. So if your in Houston, especially on the west side, check out the North China for lunch or dinner.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Houston!

By Sheena S |

Googled the best Chinese restaurants in Houston, and this was recommended as one of the best, and it didn’t disappoint!! I had the BEST Chinese meal for years! The staff were super friendly, and I would definitely go there again! You have to sample the delicious food here!

The best

By Andrew R |

My family loves North China. Wonderfully prepared dishes. Great service. There is not a bad choice on the menu. When we want Chinese there is only one place we go, North China! We enjoy Palace Beef, Pong Lia Chicken or Beef, Beijing Chicken, Minced Garlic Chicken, Rice Soup, Lo Mien Noodles, Steamed Vegetables, La Joao Chicken.

Best Chinese Food in Houston

By GoldenBoyPeanut |

Without a doubt my favorite Chinese food in Houston. I wouldn't consider going back to Texas without stopping here. The waitstaff is friendly, helpful, and if frequented enough will get to know you. Peter, the owner, is always around and very friendly. Every time you eat Chinese food in Houston and it isn't here you have wasted your time.

Very Good Food, Nice Atmosphere, Friendly Service

By rolandlinda1 |

My wife and I arrived about 15 minutes before the kitchen closed and we were a bit rushed by the staff to order and eat. But the food was excellent and the staff was friendly. If we hadn't been rushed I know that we would have enjoyed an excellent evening with great food.

Still awesome

By cjster |

I dropped in there a couple of weeks ago on the off-chance it was the same place/people I remembered from a long time ago. To my most pleasant surprise it was and is now better than I remember. They have simply become even better over time. The food, service, cleanliness are all superb, true Houston gem from the old days!

Good local chinese place

By Andrew S |

Local Chinese place. It's good to find a place that is not a buffet and not dim-sum. They use less sweetness in most of their sauces as well. Overall quality is good. Prices are decent for what you get.

Our Favorite Chinese Restaurant in Houston

By HoustonTraveler26 |

We eat here frequently when we visit Houston: the food is very good and freshly made, the service is quick and cheerful, with the owner constantly in evidence. The main dining room is very attractive and there is a nice private room seating 20 that can be reserved at no charge. There's also a patio shaded by live oaks which is very nice when the temperature is right.

Good place for biz lunch in energy corridor area

By bruce p |

Great place for lunch in the energy in the heart of the Energy Corridor. Portions of plentiful the place is clean the staff is friendly and fast. Around $12 you can get a very good lunch very good food

Still Going Strong

By Kevin W |

I had not eaten at North China in likely 8-9 years but I met a colleague for lunch and found that it is still a great spot. The service is fast, efficient, and polite. They've added a small buffet for the appetizers which include a spring roll, salad, and other stuff. But don't get too much because the food comes out very quickly. Portions are perfect. Cost is reasonable.

Great Chinese food, great staff

By 65Wagonaire |

We wanted good Chinese food in Houston, and this restaurant came out at the top of the reviews. So we went and we had a great meal. The atmosphere is Asian and the staff is welcoming, especially to the two small children in our group. They brought out the fresh chips and dip (fried wontons and duck sauce) for us to munch on while making our menu choices. I could live on those chips, so I have no idea why my husband ordered appetizers, but he did. The spring rolls were mostly lettuce and carrots and vermicelli with one shrimp inside. The peanut dipping sauce was excellent and would have made dried shoe leather taste good. Again, I could have lived on that dish. Also, Peking Raviolis (pot stickers) with a salty, scallion dipping sauce. For entrees, we ordered a shrimp dish, a chicken dish, and a beef dish, with some recommendations from the staff, and they were delicious. Full of salt, but that's what beer and sake are for, to chase down the salt. The children had a fried chicken dish and a sauteed shrimp dish both with lots of rice, and again kudos to the staff to paying attention to the children, because the happier they were, the more the grown ups could linger over their meal. We splurged on dessert - fried bananas and vanilla ice cream for the table to share - and all of us enjoyed a few sweet bites of the crispy, sweet, hot fried banana and the cold, melting, vanilla ice cream. Will go back on our next visit to Houston.

BEST Chinese-Korean Fusion

By 2HoustonTexans |

Peter and April have successfully committed to delivering the best Chinese-Korean fusion for more than 29 years! Foodies must partake in their unique Peking Fish, Sizzling Rice Soup and MaPo Tofu. Be sure to ask for their own version of kimchee which typically is served to their Asian patrons. This place is worthy of the journey outside the Beltway!

Crab Rangoons, but don't forget the sauce!

By BynaWV52 |

The sauce on the rangoons was amazing. The staff and owner, Peter were very accommodating. The garlic minced chicken was recommended to us along with plum sauce. I followed the instructions and it did not disappoint. I haven't had good Chinese food in a while and this made me happy.

Excellent food and service

By SteffiCC |

We ate at this restaurant twice during our visit to Houston on both occasions with a fairly large number of people; both times the food was excellent. The menu is varied, something for everyone. The waitress was very knowledgeable about all of the ingredients in the dishes, very useful as members of our group had food allergies.

One of the best

By Warren G |

This Restaurant has some of the best Chinese food in town, If I am in the mood for Chinese this is where I want to go, The best sweet and sour I have ever had, Being a pork fan, there are lots of great and different dishes on the menu.

Another wonderful meal!

By houstontravelingfool |

This was not our first time there but it is my first review. There were 6 of us having dinner and everyone's meal was delicious. Our waiter was very helpful in suggesting something for one of our friends who must eat gluten free and she thoroughly enjoyed her chicken and bok choy dish. Several of us had the Beijing fish which is one of their specialties and I highly recommend it. The place was packed but we were seated right away because of our reservation. Such an enjoyable evening in a lovely atmosphere with wonderful food. We will make this one of our regulars.

Good food, friendly staff, family friendly

By 65Wagonaire |

The food here is reliably good, with some Chinese cuisine dishes often found in American restaurants and some different dishes to try when you want something different. The staff is attentive and good with describing menu items and making suggestions. They are quick to deliver drinks, take the food order, and bring apps to table. I give this place high marks for their welcoming approach to young children. Not only do they go the extra step to welcome children, they will make simple dishes for kids (steamed shrimp, chicken) and get them to the table quickly. The grown ups could relax and enjoy our meals!

Consistent quality Chinese

By FrmrJamaican M |

We have been eating at North China for over 10 years, starting at the original location across from Memorial City Mall. Although the faces have changed, the food has always been consistently good. It is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. The ambiance is great and I love the way they decorate the patio which you can see from the enormous picture windows. They have a great selection of wines. My least favorite feature of the restaurant is the Sunday brunch but I'm not sure if they still have it. The location is perfect and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend a visit.

Just ok

By Winemakertx |

Had lunch today, have to question the food quality, not fresh on the lunch menu, believe it was prepared in advance

always great

By lana7continents |

THe owners of NC go out of their way to be sure you are waited on promptly and have every question answered. great food. full bar. very relaxing. beautifully decorated. even the soups are fantastic.

Chinese for birthday

By 335yancyw |

Good food and friendly staff helped make my wife's birthday memorable. I would definitely recommend North China restaurant.

Sunday Lunch

By Georgia H |

Just OK. Not great... Not bad... Just adequate. Nice to have brown rice. We've had the soups on previous trips and they are great. Not eating much meat anymore, so the menu is just not as exciting.

Delicious - a hidden gem!

By Dr Stephen |

My wife and I had Sunday lunch here in January 2020. Great Chardonnay wine, yuk sung (lettuce and fill) starter and delicious beef and shrimp dishes for mains. Highly recommended Chinese gem - we’ll definitely come here again.

A Favorite Place to Entertain

By Texastochina |

This Chinese Restaurant is in a class by itself. Excellent food, service and a upscale dine-in experience. I have been coming here for years and am proud to recommend it.

American Chinese restaurant

By Makoto N |

Today, my friend and I went to the restaurant to have dinner. I heard from my colleague that garlic chicken is especially delicious. We ordered garlic chicken, chili pepper shrimp, garlic pork and some bottles of beer. These dishes are very nice and so called American Chinese. I recommend the restaurant for family dinner. Please try it here. Thank you.

Good Food and Best Lunch Value

By traveljuggernaut |

I love this place for lunch. The staff is very friendly, the service is super quick, the food is hot when it arrives and the price is great. Once my buddy forgot his wallet and couldn't pay. The manager said "no worries. I see you next time." That's how nice they are (and how often we eat there).

Terrific Mandarin Food

By Huskies74 |

I was so used to Chinese take-out that I wasn't prepared for what real Chinese cooking was all about. My cousins have been coming here for years because of the great service and friendly owner and staff. Everything we tried was delicious. I wanted to have something small so I got the spicy noodle soup with shrimp and pork. Well, it was enough for three people but once I started eating it I couldn't stop. Am looking forward to my next trip to Houston and Nort China.

best chinese food in Texas

By Lliamsmomma |

I had all but given up on finding chinese food in Houston that wasn't greasy or low quality, till I found this place. The veggies are fresh, the sauces not heavyhanded, and the meat is choice, never gristly. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the interior of the restaurant is quite pretty. They also offer off the menu items that are wonderful.

A nice gem for this area

By bk_t1 |

During my relocation, I'd eaten here and had takeout a few times. I must say that it is a nice hidden gem for the area. The dishes are very good and some are quite unusual (ie, north china style), but service here is great. Everytime someone walks in they are treated to a polite smile and welcome - whether dine-in or takeout. Although Iikely won't be a customer much (I'm on the other side of town now), I still highly recommend trying this place out. Get the combo fried rice or one of the many chicken dishes.

Very good Chinese Food

By Ian D |

One of my colleagues goes here every time he goes to Houston. He brought a couple of us there for dinner. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The food is very good and reasonably priced. good portions. Will definitly return the next time I'm in the area.

Mandarin Chinese

By M-Dasgupta |

We went there for dinner yesterday. I found the food quite ordinary, nothing special. The highpoint of our dinner was their dessert. We had ordered the flaming banana and really enjoyed the ceremoial service with which it is served.

Good dining experience

By Kathy B |

Ate dinner at this Chinese restaurant. Brought a sweet dip and fried wontons to table before ordering. We had vegetable potstickers as an appetizer (Served with two sauces). They were very good. Dinner we had Hunan Chicken, and Cha Cha Beef, which were served with white sticky rice. Both of these entrees were good portions. Hunan had light heat and the beef had a nice sauce and flavor. We brought leftovers home and ate them for lunch the next day. Service was outstanding. We had multiple people come to the table making sure we were satisfied. (including the owner) (family run business, hard working people). For the people who complain about service at this restaurant, they have got to be kidding. Everything was great. We will definitely be back.

$18 for 2 shrimp 2 mussels 2 tiny bites of fish And way too many noodles.

By Samantha |

When we spoke to waiter he said oh there is crab. This "crab" was literally smaller than your fingernail and as thin as paper. His only comment was Sorry Bout That! We will not return to be hoodwinked again.

North China Restaurant offers fine Chinese fare

By oasvette |

Enjoy Chinese food from this restaurant often, either for lunch or take out as I leave work and take home for dinner frequently. It is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Houston. Food is tasty, well presented and economical. I believe the owner is the person that greets me often as I enter for lunch, and is always very gracious. Restaurant is clean, well maintained, the staff is courteous, engaging, and it is worth a visit if you are in the Energy Corridor area of Houston right off I-10.

Storied History.

By David R |

My family has eaten at the North China Restaurant since 1977 and have seen the management go through three generations. The Wu family is a wonderful group of people who happen to own and operate a wonderful restaurant.

great Mandarin style Chinese food

By Bill W |

Located in the Energy Corridor of West Houston near Katy, this is an excellent Chinese restaurant. I ordered the moo shu pork, which came with 4 rice flour pancakes. This dish contains tasty pork, egg, bean sprouts, mushrooms, and carrots. Also a very good chicken corn soup to start the meal off. Give it a try.

Awesome Food!

By carolinerQ6784AI |

North China always has great food and good service! You can also customize the level of spice you want your dish to have for flavoring!

Great Dependable Chinese

By Jeanne M |

Always busy and striving for great service and food. Traditional Chinese always fresh and hot. Décor appealing but not old style Chinese.

Excellent food, interesting atmosphere

By brinav |

Found the place through good online reviews and stopped. The staff was very friendly & accommodating (closing shades without asking to prevent glare, attentive, etc). It seemed like they had quite a few regulars based on the conversations I heard. The food was excellent -- I'm not a fan of seafood, but the "fish buns" were my favorite by far. We also ordered eggplant with chicken and chicken with jalapenos. All of it was terrific, but we should have just shared one entrée. Price was middling. The decor had me smiling -- if you looked at one corner of the restaurant it looked like a French bistro. From another, it was a Chinese restaurant. Very pretty.

A little pricey, but great food and worth it

By Martin H |

This restaurant is a little pricey, but the food is not your average American Chinese fare. It is fresh and a little more authentic, but absolutely delicious. I loved the fried rice!

Great Chinese Food.

By Warren G |

The food was great, the service is very good, I went with a party of 12, (yes I called a head) and they put us in room off to the side at a large round table. The young grand kids could not bother anyone else. They have some of the best hot and sour soup I have ever had. The rest of the menu as we had 10 different things was great.

VOTED BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT BY KHOU CHANNEL 11 FOR GOOD REASON

By Jennifer K |

My family and I have been going to this restaurant for almost 30 years, since my sister's kids were little. That's way back when they were in a shopping strip behind the Memorial Hermann Hospital at Memorial City (now they're on I-10 feeder just east of Hwy 6). The owner still recognizes us when we come in and always makes us feel welcome. We think the food is wonderful, of course, or we wouldn't keep coming back. Yes, it's pricey, but it's worth it. AND, this place makes the best hot and sour soup on the planet! My sister passed away in August of 2015 so in August of 2016, we had a memorial dinner in her honor at North China, her favorite Chinese restaurant. Turned out so well, we will do it every year in August at North China in her memory.

One of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever been

By Andres |

Quality of the food and very friendly and awesome staff. If you are looking for these ingredients, this is your place. Everything that we tried was delicious. We will come again

Chinese Perfection

By Zayix |

I've eaten several lunches at North China over the past couple of months and never had a meal that I didn't love. On more than one occasion, I found myself tempted to lick the plate clean and probably would have if I hadn't been in a restaurant filled with happy patrons. Despite the near capacity crowds that come for lunch, I have never waited more than a couple of minutes for a table and it's probable that the short wait is at least in part due to the over the top service provided by the friendly waiting staff. If you're working off I-10 anywhere near Highway 6, in the energy corridor, this is a great lunch destination whether you are eating alone or entertaining clients.

Great food & friendly staff

By Leslie |

The food was amazing and the staff was SO friendly. We loved our experience. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!!!!!
