North Italia is fairly new in the area. As one usually expects from a new restaurant is nothing but excellence. To make it short, 3 hours into our dinner, we had to change orders because we were advised (only because we mentioned fish allergies) that: pasta is cooked IN THE SAME water where fish has been cooked. Bread is fried IN THE SAME oil where fish has been fried. There is even a fried dessert which is FRIED IN THE SAME FISH OIL. So if one eats pasta, it is contaminated with fish flavors, same goes with even if one orders the rice dish, or a dessert. Since WHEN do restaurants do this? Not only are they altering flavors, they are risking people's lives. If someone just "thinks" that because you are ordering pasta, you will not have an allergic reaction to fish, THINK AGAIN. They are not being careful in the kitchen, nor is the chef THINKING that there is anything wrong with this, because he is saving oil and water by cooking everything in the same pot. Every half hour after we placed our order, server came to let us know we could not eat something, so we had to order again, for server to come back and tell us that we could not eat that either. So why go there in the first place if you want pasta??? Servers were pleasant though, but that is as far as it goes.

We recently ate at North Italia and had wonderful food! Glad I listened to the good reviews and didn't rely on the bad reviews some gave on Tripadvisor. Our waitress was great, service was very good and we didn't find the food overly pricey. In the past, I have personally witnessed exchanges between patrons and servers, and the patrons were the difficult ones who instigated the bad experience.

We made reservations for this restaurant for 5 PM today. We arrived and before we could say anything we were informed it would be 10 to 15 minutes. We told her that we had a reservation which she looked up and found. She told us it would be a few minutes. We waited for 15 minutes watching other couples arriving and being seated. We finally told the hostess that we were tired waiting and were going to Russo's across the street and left. Their service was horrible. We did notice that no employee we saw coming and going to the kitchen had on a mask nor were the three women standing around the entrance wearing a mask. Most patrons arriving also did not wear masks. The seating appeared to not have social distancing or partitions. If you like poor service and eating in a COVID petri dish this is the place for you!

I’ve been here several times for business and family. Service is always good. Food is hit or miss. The Ragu is phenomenal and it is my go to. The meatball sub is terrible and other items I have tried have been average.

My date and I ate here in the evening and the ambiance is fabulous! Service was fantastic. It is low key quiet and you actually have the ability to talk and listen to your companion(s). Ordered the truffle garlic bread appetizer, meatballs and Spicy Rigatoni Vodka . Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted even better! Will most definitely eat here again and again!

Our family had Sunday brunch at the San Antonio location (RIM). First and very importantly we had Cat as our server, what a personable young lady she engaged every member of our group ( 9 folks) 5 adults 4 children. Her recommendations proved to be top notch and was exactly what we all wanted, kudos to her expertise! Secondly the food was cooked to perfect and exactly as order. The Banana coffee cake lovely. We highly recommend this location. We will be going back when we return to.San.a Antonio.

I really like this place. I have celiac disease so finding a restaurant with gluten free Italian food (that actually understands and makes me feel safe) options is a challenge for me. They have good Italian food options from pizza to pasta. My husband had a pizza and my daughter got a hamburger that came out on a nice thick bread. Although she decided she wanted just the meat. I had a gluten free pizza and the manager brought me a delicious gluten free chocolate dessert because our food took some time to come out. Even my husband ate half and he can have all the gluten he wants.

A neighbor told me about this place that just opened. I met a friend for happy hour and liked it so much I went back the following week. Both times the service and food were very good. We sat in the bar both times to take advantage of a good happy hour. The truffle garlic bread is to die for! Nice atmosphere and good food so I’ll be back.

This was the best experience ever. My husband and I came here for a date. The drinks were on point and so was the food. Our waiter, Troy, recommended the sea scallops for my husband. I ordered the chicken parm. Both were fantastic. We did have to wait quite a bit for our food but Troy and his manager, Desiree, took very good care of us. I highly recommend this place. It was our first time here but, most definitely, not our last. Thank you!

Bad service! We were greeted with friendly service and it went downhill from there. We had to ask for silverware. We had to ask for refills on drinks. We had to ask for our server to get things. His apron was filthy. He seemed bothered to help us at all. The restaurant is pricey so service should be top notch. Food should have been better for price.

Food was good but very pricey. Service was terrible rude waiter. Much better palces for Itialian Food in San Antonio Texas. Almost ruined my wifes birthday.

It took us longer to find a place to park at THE RIM, than it did to get seated, as we arrived on a Friday, just before 5pm and was seated immediately. Andrew F was our server, who professed to really being a bartender, but he did a fantastic job looking after us. We had good food, not spectacular. The service was primo! We started with the prosciutto bruschetta - WOW - it was wonderful - best part of our experience. Hubby really enjoyed his braised short rib. My chicken parmesan was great along with the parmesan rigatoni. Will we go back? Damn straight if Andrew F is our waiter!

So I will say this the food was AMAZING and the service by my waitress was also good. The only problem was a worker next to us was blasting inappropriate music while also singing? I didn’t see a name tag but she had curly hair with glasses and I’ve been in here before and it honestly just killed the ambience for us and was just totally inappropriate not to sure if we will be coming back and will more than likely just door dash if we want to enjoy the food.

Very good calamari, pizza and salads. Restaurant has an inviting inside dining space and heated patio. Our service was professional and friendly. Had such a positive experience went back later in the week to dine again.

Best experience ever! The food is exceptional, the service was so great. We took our family of seven out for brunch prior to our granddaughters graduation, having never been to this restaurant we were delight with the service and recommendations from our lovely waitress. We all shared the Whit truffle garlic bread and the Banana Coffee cake and to a person loved them both. My husband had the Pollo Frittata and I the Bistro steak and eggs both were superb. I and my family highly recommend this restaurant! Enjoy

I don't profess to know what was going on in October 2021 and before to warrant the negative reviews but my first visit was in November of that year and I/we have been back numerous times. It somewhat hurts me to brag on a chain restaurant but this location deserves a little love. I assure all that I have no connections to this restaurant other than every time they run a special to buy a $100 gift card and get $20 for free, I do it. Maybe some of the reviews were from other Italian restaurants in the area, I don't know. What I do know is that we eat out at least once a week and usually at places that make food (and the taste there in) that we just can't quite duplicate at home. We have had several different dishes, including two different pizzas, over the last year and each and every one of them has exceeded expectations. Our service has always been friendly and unobtrusive but close by when needed. I like the Italian lilt on the wine list and $48 for a pretty good Italian Primitivo is not that bad. Yeah, I wish the prices were a little less but rent in The Rim is not cheap; that is why I like getting the $20 for free to reduce the brusing of the wallet. Once again, like TexasMusicmom, I just don't get the bad reviews. The bar happy hour is also great; a bottle of red and a pizza for $30.

I’ve always liked the food here. And for the most part all my visits had good service. Today, however, during day 2 of Restaurant Week, the food was the main saving grace. Admittedly I booked the wrong time and one plus was being able to call and have that changed right away. Once I got the restaurant, there were two people at the host stand. I asked for a table outside. I was seated immediately and no one else was sitting on the patio. After 8 minutes, I went inside to ask for a server and was given not the nicest look from the young lady (hostess). From the moment I sat down to the moment I left, the hosts never turned around to check on the patio and just kept talking until approached by a guest. Definitely not a fan of that. The silver lining is that when she sent a server over, she sent a winner! Gilberto was amazing, epitome of someone who understands service. He knew when to come to the table, knew how to read his guests and made great recommendations by asking questions on what I liked and also sharing that fact that he hadn’t tried certain items. I find honest servers to be the best kind. Everything he recommended was top notch. The food was great. Except they didn’t have the Italian Donuts. During Day 2 of Restaurant Week menu when you only offer 2 desserts, it kind of sucks that at 1:30pm after only 2.5 hours of service; you are out of the main dessert. The other option was gelato and sorbet and that is just a staple in my opinion. Gilberto, true to his service professionalism, immediately offered to ask the chef if he could offer another dessert. I said it was okay, and that was because he offered and found a solution to a problem. Dining Service: Great 5/5 Host Service : Needs help- 1/5 at best. perhaps have them focus on the floor and not each other. This brought the overall service down though Dining should not take the fall for a bad host. Food: 5/5 Order: Brunch Restaurant Week Menu - Arancini - Pollo Fritto - Cookies and Cream Gelato - LOVED every bite. I dined from 12:20PM until 1:50PM on Sunday August 11. Hopefully this time stamp will identify those who need more training than others. This is a good restaurant but bad service will impact your product if you don’t fix it.

I want this after noon with my family to have lunch the manager was unprofessional with us he spoke with us with loud voice & very angry face I have my son with me he’s 3 years old he almost start crying with the way he talk with us it’s new location places north Italian restaurant management service improve the hospitality skills with this location thanks

Visited with a family group of different ages. Tried about every entrée available. The semi ok item was the cheese pizza for the the kids. Do not recommend becasue the service is slow, food is not worth the cost, taste and cost not worth it
Found a bug and had flying nats.
Well, the food started out looking pretty good and the customer service was okay. But we noticed some gnats flying g around our table. But we preferred at ate, then when we were done eating, I asked for a couple of containers to take our leftovers. When I got them, there must have been a bug in there because I suddenly saw a bug crawling on the table. Couldn’t tell if it was a cockroach or some kind of flying bug. But, I just grabbed it with my napkin and handed it to my server and told him to open it when he had a moment in a careful place. When he came back, I had to ask him if he saw it and he said yeah it looked like a bug, but I squished it. “Sorry about that” he said, and that was that. I don’t think an apology was enough, but be that as it may, we paid the bill and left. I left the food I was going to take home because by this time I was grossed out.
