Rude Staff

By Jjw W |

Walked in and asked if they had brisket because the sign said sold out next to Wagyu brisket and no other brisket was listed. He was rude and motioned with his hand I can’t hear you. I repeated my self and he rudely said I have prime. I started to walk out and he said I said I have prime. At this point his body language told me I didn’t want to eat there. Went to Pecan Lodge which is the best barbecue in Dallas. I should of went there first anyways but wanted to give this place a try but clearly the man who cuts the meat didn’t want our money.

Try another place.

Not very good BBQ. I would be embarassed to serve the meal we had to friends. No excuse for such tough, flavorless brisket.

Excellent barbecue and wonderful staff

By TESMom |

We were a group of six and were greeted warmly as we entered and shown how to order. The staff was wonderful attentive and warm. The barbecue was really good. I had the brisket burnt tips with cauliflower and steak fries. The rest of the group had brisket, spare ribs and other sides. Everyone enjoyed their food.

Visiting from nz we were keen to try good BBQ smoked food and this hidden gem met all our expectations and more. Delightful hosts. Clean premises good bar but mostly the very best food hence the two visits.

Good Beef Ribs But That's About It For My Experience.

By KarolinaCali |

I'm basing this review on my tastes of course and I love flavor. Someone else may think this is fantastic. So i'm just going to go with the Good & Bad for me. The Good: The BBQ beef ribs were delicious. The staff taking orders were very friendly and welcoming. The Not So Good: The burnt ends were mediocre at best. We also tried the Baked Beans, Brussel Sprouts, and Potato Salad. The Brussel Sprouts I wouldn't eat again. They were cooked to a good consistency, but the flavor just wasn't my dish. The beans tasted like the two BBQ sauces they have were mixed and that was the sauce. All you could taste was the mustard in the Carolina BBQ sauce, it was overwhelming. The potato salad was a bit bland but edible. The employee who was running the checkout appeared to hate his job and everyone he encountered. Not sure he should ever work somewhere he has to work with the public. WOULD I GO BACK: No, I probably would spend my money there again looking at the experience as a whole. It was a bust.

Excellent smoked meat here

By RobinCD |

I relished the succulent, flavorful smoked brisket on a hearty bun. I opted to not have any sauce in order to appreciate the smoked flavor more. The Mac and cheese side was fair, I appreciated the lack of spiciness that seems to get added to many foods in Texas. Great casual place to enjoy lunch

Absolutely great bbq

I have ate bbq all over and I cook plenty myself but this bbq is top notch and definitely in my top 3 places. I had the brisket and pulled pork. The Mac n cheese as well as the potatoe salad was excellent. The meat was extremely moist, tender and the perfect amount of smoke flavor.

Great food and space and GREAT staff!

We had a baby shower here and our experience was amazing! Yes, the food and space were excellent, but what really stood out was the amazing staff. They were kind, accommodating and extremely helpful. They went above and beyond and took great pride in their restaurant. I would recommend Oak’d for any event, party or just a night out!

Good times at Oak'd!

Had a birthday party at Oak'd this past weekend. Nicole and team did a great job prepping for us. The food was fantastic; we really enjoyed the evening. Thank you Oak'd!

OK but not going back

By Nelly A |

The core product is Meat, and while the brisket was tasty and tender the slice was very thin. Bacon wrapped jalapeño was ok, not great. The sides were disappointing, barely warm and pretty tasteless. Clearly a popular place but not really worth another trip.

Generous and delicious happy hour

By Carlfam3 |

We stopped here for happy hour and were not disappointed. The prices were great and the portions large. We tried the brisket tacos and brisket quesadillas. We were both hunger but could not finish. They were not only large but delicious. Totally recommend a stop for delicious BBQ and definitely for the happy hour specials. I wish they had a location near me.

Go hungry and you will still go home with some in a box.

When in Texas you have to have BBQ at least once. On previous visits we went to Pecan Lodge but this time we tried Oak'd in Dallas and it was superb. Went with a friend and we both had the 4 Meat Plate, I had Wagyu Brisket, Prime Brisket, Pork Butt and Pork Ribs. The portion was massive (at first we thought one plate was to share but it was just for one of us) and I have a huge appetite and never leave food on my plate, but I did at Oak'd. I boxed it and it fed me the whole of the day after!! The sides were great too. There is a bar and a fun 'party' ambience. Prices are very reasonable too, excellent value for money. Would certainly recommend it for a first class Texas BBQ Experience.

Food flavor, and fun

This is a spot that our friend Geoffrey with a G visits often and we meet him there. They are always really nice. We sit at the bar. It’s kind of a walk up order and find a seat kind of place so it’s comfortable and we enjoy the food Service and the beverages. They also have a great happy hour.

Excellent barbecue in a pleasant setting

By lv1025 |

A friend and I went for lunch. We were greeted by a very pleasant young lady who was carving. We both asked for sliced brisket sandwiches. Our server retrieved a nice piece of brisket, trimmed excess fat, and provided us with beautiful slices of what turned out to be perfectly tender, smoked meat. There was a nice bark, the flavor and smoke rivaled the best brisket I have had in Texas, including Cooper’s and Pecan Lodge. Macaroni and cheese was quite good. We went to the patio to eat, it was as pleasant an outdoor venue as I have experienced in Dallas. One of owners stopped by to ask about the meal. We had to tell him everything was top of the line. Great personnel, great house, super brisket.

Excellent Barbeque

By John D |

We ordered online and picked the food up at the restaurant. I have not been to the restaurant but the barbeque is some of the best I've had in quite awhile. The brisket had great bark, the sausage was excellent and the pork is good. I prefer pork in North Carolina. The sides, especially the collared greens were very good. If I get back to Big D I'll try going to the restaurant.
