I will dream about this Omakase experience.

By Arianna B |

Wow! I came here with my sisters (during a trip to Miami) for the Omakase experience and have only one regret, that I didn’t go here every night. We went to the Wynwood location where the ambiance was intimate, beautiful and clean. Our waitress Nicole was very knowledgeable and kind. She expertly guided us through the experience. I highly recommend going to this reasonably priced and memorable place.

Far exceeded my expectations!

By Pedro Q |

I had been waiting months to try this place out and it far exceeded my expectations! The menu is simple, meaning they know how to do on thing right! The hand rolls were the best I’ve had, the nigiris were at the perfect rice temperature and the fish variety was an experience in the OMA Deluxe. Definitely a place I will come back with friends to indulge in the food, service and try their selection of sakes!

Omakase experience and quality at a fair price

By carlosdieppa |

Had the Omakase experience and was lucky as we got in early yesterday and before 6:30 p.m. there is a happy hour and there where drinks and appetizers at a great price. The quality of all the hand rolls and Nigiris is top notch.

Best sushi in Miami and beyond + Amazing customer service

By Climber439394 |

I've actually been to this restaurant a number of times and also ordered online quite a lot. During my initial order I think I has one piece of sushi that didn't taste quite right. I called and they immediately remedied the situation. Since then, every single time I have eaten there, the quality of the food has been incredible. I also can't say enough about the amazing staff and their superior customer service. I have talked to the managers (Sydney and Daniel) a number of times and they have always gone above and beyond to make sure I am taken care of.

Best quality sushi in Miami

By Carla |

Finally, great quality sushi in Miami! Omakai’s variation of fish is some of the best in Miami. Fish melts in your mouth, rice at perfect temperature, the hand rolls are out of this world. Everything from the drinks to the Omakase style menus are super affordable and filling. And to add, the staff is super attentive and caters to your needs. Definitely a must try!

A Truly Unforgettable Experience – Perfect for a Special Occasion!

By Just the two of us |

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Omakai Sushi in Miami for my wife’s birthday — which also happened to be during our honeymoon — and it was one of the most memorable dining experiences we've ever had. We chose the Omakase experience, and from the very first course to the final bite, it was perfection. Each piece of sushi was like a work of art — incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully crafted. The progression of flavors was masterful, with the chefs curating a journey that was both traditional and inventive. Every bite felt intentional and special. What made the night even more exceptional was the warm and friendly staff. Everyone, from the hosts to the chefs and servers, made us feel genuinely welcome and celebrated. They went above and beyond to make our occasion feel special — we were smiling the entire evening. There’s something truly comforting about being in a space where people not only take pride in the food but also care deeply about your experience.

A great choice for traditional sushi lovers

By Alvaruchi |

Visited OMAKAI last week and it was quite a pleasant experience all the way through. The restaurant itself lives up to the typical bohemian/Wynwood style that we've come to love and enjoy. The way the menu is set up makes ordering quite easy by offering pre-selected courses in a single, easy-to-understand page, aside from also having the choice to pick your own dishes, of course. That being said, I'm glad to share that the highlight of the night, however, was the food. I ordered the first of three choices which consisted of four light dishes. It was common, each time a plate arrived at the table, for everyone's attention to rapidly shift as if a beautifully prepared masterpiece had just been unveiled. Just as the menu depicts, the dishes were indeed light and fresh, yet delivered a mighty punch that indubitably hit the spot. It's a rare occurrence to stumble upon a traditional Japanese cuisine experience such as the one OMAKAI offers, especially for such stupendous price points. I will definitely be coming back in the near future. Highly recommended, to say the least.

SPECTACULAR, OUTSTANDING, PERFECT......!!

By Jeffrey Brown |

We had dinner at the Omaki in Aventura, which is new and doesn't have its own listing yet on Tripadvisor, but I am told both are the same so I thought to leave this review. The food was SPECTACULAR!! In fact, it was the best sushi I have had in Florida and maybe anywhere. I have been to many of what most say are the best, including Nobu in various cities, but last night's food was truly outstanding and levels above everywhere else. We each had the Omaki Deluxe, which was more than enough food and a great representation of how creative the chef can be with raw fish. I woke up this morning wanting more, which never happens with any restaurant. It was that good!

The freshest of sushi - but comes with a price tag

By HonestB4o |

Let me say this place has some of the best tuna I've ever had in my life. I actually think the leanest version of the 3 tunas they offer was the best. Their lobster hand roll was also exquisite. The Steak tartar sushi was lovely too but perhaps they should use not so much raw quail egg as it masks some of the flavor of the steak tartar. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the prices are astronomically expensive and also, their menu is quite limited. It would also be nice to see some regular rolls here as they only offer Nigiri, Sashimi, and hand rolls. A regular sliced roll would be lovely.

Amazing sushi

By sousoucat |

Be aware, you think you know sushi, but until you eat here, you don’t. My husband and I love sushi. We had sushi all over the country and where ever we travel across the world. We ordered the the omakai experience and it was unbelievable. This is one of the best food I have ever had. And the service, Erin, was as amazing. Life is short. If you love sushi, you must go there.

Fantastic gem for sushi lovers

By Yvonne |

We had an incredible dining experience and will definitely be back. The restaurant was smaller and less “formal” than I expected for the style of dining and price of the meal. But we loved it.

blue crab hand roll FTW!

By Brian A |

Great food and awesome atmosphere! You can't go wrong with any of the nigiri choices available and the the blue crab hand roll is a must have.

Opening Night! Amazing!

By Ianperchik |

I really liked the atmosphere and the food was delicious! I ordered the Oma Deluxe and it was yummy! I'm a big guy so I ordered more food! Really recommend the place if you're looking for a nice sushi experience in Wynwood.

Great value, amazing quality, and even better service!

By ssd75 |

Delicious omakase style restaurant located at the heart of Wynwood just a few blocks from the walls. Very reasonably priced drink menu. Bought a bottle of wine for $35, unheard of for the area where nothing goes less than $40... tried their oma deluxe and I was full although I still had room for their super cool-flavored mochi (the day I went they had black walnut, mandarin, and vegan chocolate). I loved how each nigiri was sauced differently and the crispy seaweed for the hand-rolls. Their warm rice was delicious and very different than normal sushi places. The service was very friendly and on point... the server was knowledgeable and caring throughout the meal and other servers helped often which helped us a lot.

Not hurrying back

By Voyageur Blase |

Omakai provided a tasty omikase experience, but the delivery was lackluster. Pushing aside our dirty plates before later removing them when bringing our next course, our waiter perfunctorily mumbled an indecipherable description of what was being served. I may not have known what I was eating, but I do have to say that it was succulent. But no hot towel was provided for washing our hands before eating; nigiri is meant to be eaten with fingers, not with a chop stick. Yes, not providing a towel saves money, but tradition and hygiene are important. Besides, do you want your nigiri to fall apart while transporting it to your mouth with chopsticks? Also, I'm just tired of club-intense music in restaurants.

Best Sushi I’ve ever had!

If you love Sushi and you are anywhere near Miami, come here! This is undoubtedly the best sushi that I’ve ever tasted!!!

My go to sushi spot

By Allisonb73195 |

I have been to Omakai quite a bit now with friends and family and I have an amazing experience every time! Food and service is always incredible. Definitely my go to sushi place from now on. Pricing is right and affordable for what you are getting. They are always switching the toppings and the experience so it’s a nice surprise every time I go.

Needs work

By Detsaw |

Was looking forward to this place after seeing the constant ig posts and advertising leading up to the opening, however it was unfortunately disappointing. Much like sugar fish in LA, the menu is set up with three preset options to select from or you can also order a la carte. The 3 preset options seem okay, but I can’t see myself being full without ordering additional pieces. I went for the middle option (Oma $32) and several individual pieces. Here’s breakdown: A la carte order: Large scallop: amazing Tuna flight: akami tasted frozen, way too cold. Other cuts were great though Uni: great, but not properly proportioned Sea bass: great Oma menu: Edamame: too small, too cold Sashimi: very good Albacore: very good , little too saucy Yellowtail: very good, also too saucy Salmon: too lemony Salmon handroll: way too cold, not crisp Crab handroll: good Overall, the idea here is good, but execution isn’t quite there. My biggest problem with this place was pricing on beverages. $5 for quite possibly the smallest bottle of Perrier I’ve ever seen Is a complete rip off. Beers are also a rip off here, only 2 to choose from and both $11. They need to really rework this if they plan to remain open.

Good try

We came to eat near thinking it was going to be like sugarfish , they copied the concept but the fish was not great quality, too cold, rice was average. Staff and service was great . Food overpriced.

New Year’s Eve dinner

By JCRG1965 |

Omakai is one of the best sushi restaurants in Miami for the money. Small, non-pretentious place. High quality sushi with excellent service. The area could be sketchy at night. The concept is similar to that of Sugar Fish; fixed menus are the best deal by far. Early dinner followed by a nice walk on the Design District is a great plan for a date night. Take out is a great alternative if you can’t get a reservation. Their presentation boxes are amazing. Highly recommended.

Absolutely recommend! Best value for money

By Paule B |

Were with two children for lunch at the new Omakai in Aventura. We had twice the sumptuous pre-set menu for 40 dollars. For the quality and quantity a snapper. Plus extra toro, which you can't get everywhere. For the kids, there was sake maki. Conclusion: very good sushi at a real price by US standards.

Best Omakase Worldwide, Regardless of Price…run, don’t walk there. Ask for Joselyn. Service might even eclipse food.

By GoldenBearBrett |

Run, don’t walk. THE BEST QUALITY SUSHI, full stop. Not even graded on price. I normally don’t order Omakase as tired of being served bait. But Omakai serves only the highest quality & highest desirable fish. Bonus points if Joselyn is curating your evening.

Great food and atmosphere

By melisa a |

I went on Saturday with a group of friends, the place was packed but we had a reservation so got sat right away. I chose the OMA light menu, and it completely filled me up. It comes with edamame, a sushi appetizer a couple of nigiris and omg the greatest blue crab hand roll i have ever tasted, ive always been kinda picky about hand rolls because im not the biggest seaweed fan but this blue crab hand roll changed my mind completely it was sooo good!! I also had some mochi for dessert and got to try a couple of different sakes!!

AMAZING

By Allison B |

This was honestly one of the best experiences. Amazing sushi for an affordable price. I’ve been to many other Omakase style places in LA and NY and this blows them out of the water. The rice is next level, a perfect mix of warm rice with perfectly cut fish on top. I’d like to add the fact that the seaweed was super crunchy when it got to my table each and every time. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right. I’ll be coming here for all the nights I’m craving Suhsi. Also the night I was there, the line was out the door!!

Fresh fish - decent as carry out

By Bellatako |

The carry out was quite good. The fish fresh. Not a huge fan of the blue crab salad roll. But the nigiri was very good. Serves a sushi fix.

High quality sushi but lacking service

By worldtraveler952015 |

The omakase highest end tasting menu is delicious. But, the service is a bit wanting overall. The servers and hostesses are not the friendliest or most attentive and it really brings down the entire restaurant. The ambience is nice but a bit small. The valet parking by Koko restaurant is very helpful. I would return here for their sushi definitely.

Best sushi in Miami!

By Patricia J |

Best sushi in Miami area. Fresh and tasteful. Place is normal. It is all about the food and it is worth to try. They offered two options of “combos”. Oma lite and oma luxe. If you are hungry de luxe option is the right one. For those who don’t eat much order the lite. The selection is perfect. If you order delivery the presentation is great and they guide you how to eat the pieces (from light flavor to intense flavor).

Must Go Sushi Place in Miami

By Ayberk D |

Went to this place as recommended by a friend. We ordered the Omakai Experience. Most of the sushi, sashimi and hand-rolls were truly a great experience, especially the one with truffle. Our waitress knew the food and explained what's inside for all of the food. Their bluefin tuna is a must try. Wouldn't recommend their Wagyu A5. Also, a not-so-small piece of sea-shell/crab shell came inside one of our Sushi's. I felt that it was taken lightly from the staff. I would expect an explanation and apology by the chef/manager themselves rather than just a replacement Sushi piece.
