I have been coming here for years and my last meal is no exception. The pork chop with house wine was perfect after a long day and the atmosphere is so relaxing and countryfied. I actually almost feel as if I've gone to France or Italy! The chef is always trying to out do himself which means the menu is ever changing and never boring. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

We enjoyed a bottle of wine, fried Brie, and a couple of entrees. Patrick was our server. Excellent all round experience. We highly recommend.

My husband and I had an excellent dinner. We had the crab cakes for an appetizer - yum! We both had the Crab Stuffed snapper. Everything was delicious, but it was served on white rice. The rice was dry and flavorless. We had a lovely bottle of Pinot Grigio with our dinner. We also shared the chocolate dessert. Overall, we had an excellent dinner. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We will go back again sometime soon!

I cannot say enough about this place, best meal we had the entire week in San Antonio! Food was outstanding and prices were awesome! Wine was reasonable and selection excellent. Desert was inexpensive and awesome! Lastly, the service was outstanding. Everyone checked on us, including the Boss! Ambiance was fantastic with Christmas lit view of the vineyard. If I could give it 6 stars, I would and it would be my first of all my restaurant reviews. Strongly recommend! Yes, the mussels were outstanding!

Oak Valley Vineyards is an amazing venue. My wife and I instantly loved how quaint everything looked and you have to see it at night because it's so beautiful. Beth and Lori both were a huge help especially since we live in San Diego. They are a one stop shop venue that is very professional and definitely know how to craft a truly unforgetful event. The staff was so helpful and the food was incredible. Honestly they made the planning process so easy for my wife and myself. The event itself went so smooth and the staff was there to help guide it every step of the way. Loved everything about this place!

I came here with all the women in my family (7). We had a great time ordering different plates and trying different wines. If you have a large party I can see why reservations are important because it’s a small restaurant. I tried 3 different plates and one dessert. I tried the fried green tomatoes and they were fantastic. I absolutely loved them. I also tried this fried Brie with raspberry sauce. I also ordered the Red Texas Snapper with mashed potatoes and vegetables. This plate was flavorful and delicious. For dessert I ordered the bread pudding. It was the perfect consistency and it had great taste. I loved the texture. Overall a great place for a romantic dinner.

First, the views are amazing. It is secluded and very scenic. You feel like you are on a vineyard having dinner. The food and vine are also excellent. A terrific place and worth the jaunt.

We celebrated my parents' 50th wedding anniversary at this restaurant. While the prices were reasonable for a buffet for 27 guests, in the Wine Cellar, the service was spotty. It seemed that while they had at least 3 people coming to serve, take drink orders, etc., there was no one directing things. Members of our party had to go upstairs to the folks to ask for & pick out bottles of wine, ask for the champagne toast to be poured, ask for folks to come down for drink refills, etc. While on the whole the place was beautiful, cozy, and the food pretty good, the event might have been a little better with a little more "direction" or attentiveness from the staff. Would definitely recommend this for a regular evening out.

Wow, what a unique place! Surrounded by vineyards, with a very "homey" feel. While the menu is not expansive like many restaurants, the selections are great and have a distinct Texas feel. Great desserts, and a Texas Port to top it off. We will definitely return often!

I recently had a casual business lunch here and was impressed! The food was excellent and the restaurant was clean and charming. I would add some small vases with a few fresh cut flowers to each table and maybe highlight the front entryway area for wine and appetizer service. This could easily be a really cute spot for lazy weekend afternoons sipping wine, enjoying the property and listening to some music. I'm planning on dinner here later this week to try the entrees. Good luck to the new owners! I think you have a real gem here with fantastic potential!

A friend and I planned a shopping trip to the San Marcos, TX outlets and I stumbled in the internet with this restaurant and went ahead and made reservations. it was phenomenal. The place, the atmosphere, the view, etc. It is used for weddings, as a matter of fact they were having a rehearsal dinner that evening. The restaurant is a cozy place with maybe 8-10 tables only so reservations are encouraged. It is a vineyard so you see all the grape vines around you. The restaurant is on a 2nd floor - all glass windows so the view is magnificent. I ordered the filet mignon well done. It was exactly how I ordered and still juicy. I ordered a glass of Llano Moscato (Texas wine) - perfect!! Would definitely go again. Perfect place for a date, anniversary dinner, birthday dinner or just because. You might want to keep the kiddos at home!

2nd time here. Brunch was light and satisfying. We went at 11 am and had the whole place to ourselves. Great food and service.

Amazing dinner with excellent service. Our group of 4 enjoyed the Brie and Green Tomato appetizers. We had the smoke ribeye and the daily special which was crab stuffed red snapper. Both were outstanding. Highly recommended!

Many restaurants can serve a delicious steak in a candlelit setting. But if you're looking for something out of the ordinary, how about a fabulous steak/seafood dinner, complete with candles and flowers, served in the peaceful quiet of a real vineyard?? Everyone we came into contact here with was so friendly and welcoming. Appetizers, soup, salad, entrees, and sides- the food was skilfully prepared, presented well, and very tasty! All of our requests were accommodated graciously. We walked the lovely grounds after dinner, encountering the unofficial mascot kitty, and admiring how the stars sparkle more brightly, far from the city lights. All in all, the experience somehow felt like a special occasion AND relaxed comfort at the same time. Highly recommended for a wonderful night of beauty and romance :)

We went here for Mother's Day Brunch. Would definitely recommend. Nice outdoor, covered seating. Great brunch buffet with amazing Salmon Crepes and fantastic desserts (especially Tres Leches cake). Not cheap, but really goood.

A small group of us from out of town were planning on going here for a Sunday Lunch/Brunch. We decided to call that morning to see if we needed reservations. They did answer the phone before the open hours and politely were told that they were closed for a wedding but we could come by in the evening. So we had to find another place to go and then late afternoon we were back in the area and decided to go by. When we drove by the gate was open but there was a large banner that indicated they were closed for private party/event even though the lower parking lot was empty and only a few cars visible up by the building. Again disappointed and wish the website calendar would actually show private events.

From our entry into this lovely space to our outstanding meal, the Oak Valley Vineyards excelled. Our server was attentive, the wine list was exciting and our dinner superb. What more could you ask? Beautiful view of a lush, green vineyard! We'll return to stroll and savor the atmosphere following a lovely dinner. Definitely not to be missed!

Just down the road from a wildlife sanctuary is this charming restaurant and vineyard. We enjoyed a lovely brunch of uniquely prepared Eggs Benedict, steak and eggs, crunchy waffles and eggs and bacon looking down over the vineyard. Mimosa and huge Bloody Mary were also excellent. Service was friendly and attentive. A bit pricey, but food, ambiance and service was in keeping. Loved everything about our meal.

We haven't been out here for years and I was looking for something different for Father's Day dinner. What a great experience. Sue and Patrick took great care of us during our visit. There were actually grape vines right outside the window. I started with a garden salad that was chock full of fresh greens and dressed lightly as to not overwhelm the salad. My entree was the smoked ribeye. Incredible taste. No steak sauce required. It came with roasted potatoes, carrots, and green beans. For dessert we had the tuxedo cake. It was a cake with a lot of layers of cake and vanilla cream and chocolate cream, and a side of fresh whipped cream. We had good conversation with the staff and my wife found they knew people she knew from Bulverde. Even ran into an old Sunday School classmate. It was cool to find out a couple was dining there tonight that go married there five years ago.

Arrived just at 5:30 pm for 6:00 pm reservations because we weren't sure of it's location. It was easy to find in the daylight. Their parking lot sparkles. Make late reservations or stay until dark, if you go in the summertime, to appreciate it’s beauty. We were warmly greeted and given a table with a window view of the grounds. When the other couple arrived we enjoyed glasses of wine, beers with a scrumptious appetizer. Three of us ordered the evening special for our meal. Oh, my. Wonderful! Delicious! Savory! So very, delectable! The other person ordered the surf and turf. We ate every bite too. We will be returning. They serve beers and wines only. The wine list is very good. The wait staff could not have been better. Our waiter had personality plus, which also helped to make our evening perfect. There are three levels for dinning. They also have an outdoor area for special events. One couple visiting for the evening was celebrating an anniversary. Arrangements were made for flowers and champagne to be placed on the table for when they arrived. The staff paid attention to detail. The restaurant has weddings and other events throughout the year.

Please come and visit this venue, what fine food and excellent service. The mussels were so good That I inhaled them and couldn’t resist spooning up all of the sauce. OMG. Now I’m waiting on my main entrée.

Made reservations for &:7:45 pm 4 days in advance: gave Credit card info to pay ($150 for 2) for info based on website info. Arrived @ & 7:35 PM for reservation. Told to wait for table to clear & be cleared. Got to table @ about 8 PM. Got water about 8:10 pm, initial appetizer about 8:20 pm. Salad & Bisque by 8:35 PM. Wine order given after bisque as not asked before then. Also asked for entrée @ that time as it wasn't asked for before. My wife asked for a filet mignon and I asked for a New York Strip. Both to be medium. Sides were mashed potatoes & green beans. The meat arrived relatively burnt but very rare not medium. As the meat was already burnt, didn't ask for it to be sent back. Potatoes were done but the beans were not done. Somewhat raw more than steamed or ? Wine was somewhat okay. Overall poor evening for Valentines. My young bride says the concept was good but production was poor. Think maybe they over planned.

I took a group to a mother's day brunch. The food was average but not exceptional. The waiter spilled a tray of mimosas on my wife.. The staff did not respond to the crisis. Everyone at our table gave us napkins to try and dry her off. To make matters worse, I had to ask the staff for more napkins and to mop the floor since is was very sticky. I even had to grab a free chair to replace my wife's sticky chair. Later, when the manger came around and asked us if we were enjoying ourselves, I started to complain about the lack of attention to correcting the spill but she walked away to talk to another group. In the end we paid our bill without even receiving an offer for a comp. We host a lot of dining out groups in our neighborhood. We will recommend other venues in the future.

A change in ownership with new ideas, service, selections has resulted in a venue for a very good meal. We opted for the breakfast brunch with a wide variety to select from, the Texas Two Step was a very good choice. poached eggs, 1st one on english with ham poached egg and hollandaise sauce, the 2nd with a beef medalion, with a ample supply of "Texas Hash Brown" or we call home fries. My partners selection was a typical Texan meal of Fish Taco's made from a very tasty hallibut, not the normal talapia. She was very satisfied and pleased. All in all 5 stars for this diamond outside the fringes of San Antonio ,on route 3009 not far from the Caverns and Wild Animal farm and bat caves.

A small intimate restaurant in the fringes of the hill country. My wife and I were very happy that this restaurant reopened, and thanks to holiday gifts, have eaten here twice this year. On this particular visit we were here on an early Saturday evening, but it wasn't too crowded yet. The food was outstanding taste wise, portion wise it was a bit smaller than what I'd expect. The wine selection is very nice and the restaurant is fairly quiet for nice conversations. If you go I'd recommend reservations since the dining room is fairly small. I think its going to be on the special occasion list for us.

Stopped in for Sunday brunch after we went to the Caverns. Staff was very polite and friendly. We were given suggestions that we really appreciated as we have not been there before. The restaurant is very quaint and the land it is on is breathtaking. We only saw a blonde lady and one waiter and they both suggested we split a dish. Thank goodness as it was a lot of food! We split the bison burger and it was presented so lovely. I imagined that I would just take some fries from my hubby's plate but no, they had some on my plate. The wine was reasonable and very good. I'd give them a 10 as the food, service, ambiance and staff were exceptionally great!! Wonderful stop!

I stopped here after taking a tour at the Natural Bridge Canyon. The food was great and the staff was very friendly. My husband and I split the Oak Valley Salad and had an appetizer with beef tenderloin and avocado. It was perfect for the two us. This vineyard doesn't use their grapes to make their own wine but they do showcase some local Texas wines and offer a flight so you can try a variety.

Friends invited 100 of their closest friends to help celebrate a joyous occasion. Outside was set up; appetizers were indoors; buffet was going to happen inside barn area; but moved the lines outside to serve. The day/early evening became colder and windier but...the Oak Valley Vineyard staff did their best under some blustery conditions. Music and dancing inside the barn area. The salmon was delicious, as were most of the buffet choices (which is unusual for a buffet style serving). Folks we talked with had a great time and lots of us were "new" to this venue. Would certainly return when back in this area. Great setting for functions, or just couples. Bar service also spectacular, based on the weather conditions they were working under.

Our experiences was terrible They wrote a bunch of extra charges I dint even know why??it was our 42 years anniversary, this coming Sunday,we are going to give it a try and see what happens??it is a bigger group so who knows?. The first time just my wife and I.And they still chage us 18% for "service"?????

After a reservation mishap at another restaurant 15 minutes away, I found Oak Valley Vineyard via a Google Maps search and called for a reservation. Even though they were closing at 9pm (website said 10pm) they were gracious enough to seat me at 8:30. The dining area is cozy...probably only 8 or so tables. The vineyard makes a nice backdrop to the windowed room and a great dining setting. I ordered a tenderloin steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. They were out of bread because it had been a busy day. I had been wine tasting throughout the day and at first was not going to order wine, then decided to go ahead and order a red wine flight. The food...amazing. Probably the best steak I've ever had. The vegetables were superb. The waitresses were very nice and engaging as well as very attentive. The wine...meh. Not all of the wines are actually from the vineyard there (which is the case at a lot of wineries) but I did not finish any of the wines from the tasting glasses...so that was a bit of a disappointment. One or two were passable. Oh and the toffee pudding for dessert was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a very good meal. It is a shame the wines do not live up to the food.

I had read and heard mixed reviews so not sure what I was expecting. First of all...loved Jason our server. Excellent personality and good service. I had the Peppered Rib Eye with Whiskey sauce. Give me a straw! I asked for extra and was brought to me very quickly. The steak was great and cooked as I wanted the first time. My friend had the special of Drum of some sort and enjoyed very much. I did think the wine was a bit short for the price and there was no bread offered....but I will be back and soon!

Had a wonderful time celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary. The presentation of the place was great, the atmosphere was wonderful, the hostess and food was excellent. My wife was impressed with the venue, and she was wonderfully delighted.

If you are ready to go turn your feet purple while cavorting in a vat of grapes, or have fun roaming through row upon row of fruit covered vines, this ain't the place. This multiple level restaurant does have some excellent views though of the arbor below and the few rows of vines that they actually do have. The rustic wooden floored Texas style "chalet" is perfectly romantic for a special occasion that will not break the bank. Enjoy Texas sourced comestibles in creative sauces and both eye and palate pleasing presentations. We decided to come here just because. We had been numerous times before the new owners took over and just had to see what their vision was for the "new" restaurant. We found the service a bit relaxed as they claimed to be serving a larger crowd than usual on our visit. And the temperature of the food was a minor issue which I am sure was related to the "understaffed" condition. But we did find the smiles to be genuine, the wait helps attitude anything but average, the prosecco cold, the view from our corner window table brilliant, and the food special. Our crab cake appetizers were plated as 3 solid crab meat medallions with a remoulade sauce a very good balsamic and comino tasting reduction, and an unusual cole slaw with green and yellow peppers. Wow! They really need to offer these as an entree. The Hill Country Two Step is the lively name for a rich and savory dish that is served as an eggs benedict twosome. Poached egg on muffin; one with ham and the other with aged beef fillet, covered with a chipotle hollandaise. Just mouth watering in smell and flavor particularly as served with a hunky potato hash. Oh, and a fruity Italian Prosecco was excellent - a bargain at $7 a split. At this point I really didn't care whether this "vineyard" was mostly related to the name of the restaurant only. The real prize vintage here is what they are doing with the food rather than the grapes. The two interpretations I had of some common dishes were masterfully prepared, artfully presented, and gobbled up (couldn't help myself) by yours truly. Despite the minor faux pas, an excellent experience that we shall be repeating.

It had been many years since we had been to this venue when it was another name but recently had dinner there. We called ahead for a reservation and left a message with our request. A few hours before our reservation time we received a phone call that there was a private event, which we found out later was a rehearsal dinner, in the main dining but that we could be seated in the wine cellar. She had called to let us know as the only access to that room is by stairs. This was not an issue for us but could be for others. We arrived a few minutes early and were acknowledged quickly and had a short wait while the table was set up. The wine cellar was very cozy with mostly two top tables but there were a couple of 4 and a 6 top table too. It was not busy the night we went and only one other couple in the cellar. Another couple arrived later but the noise level was very low so a perfect choice. The menus or not disposable and have a nice selection of varied choices. The menu also has wine selection recommendations for the meals. The wine menu is a good one as well but they were out of the Escondido Valley Chardonnay, as it seems to be a popular choice according to our waiter. He brought us a tasting of the house Chardonnay but it wasn’t to our liking. But luckily we decided on a bottle of the Fall Creek Sauvignon Blanc ($25) and were very pleased with it and it went nicely with our meal. The waiter brought us a small loaf of warm bread with a crisp melted butter outer crust and soft center. It was good but a small amount. We started out with a small house salad ($4) which was mixed greens, tomatoes, goat cheese and raspberry vinaigrette. It was a perfect portion and very tasty. Then one of us ordered the Pecan Salmon which came with flash fried spinach and rice ($22) and the other had the Poblano Chicken Alfredo ($18). Both dishes were served in a bowl with the Salmon topped with a good amount of roasted pecans and under it was the white rice and then the spinach was to the side and the other meal was good portion of Chicken atop the penne pasta with an abundance of sauce. All of the food was excellent as was our server Patrick who was professional, friendly and prompt. This a great place for a romantic and/or special occasion time and we had an exceptional dinner experience. The main dining area has a view with lots of windows BUT we thoroughly enjoyed the wine cellar which offered no distractions of crowds or views.

My wife and revisited this restaurant for the first time in q3 years for our anniversary. We went for Bruce on a Saturday afternoon, 15th December. The food was excellent, portions are nice. Service was great and the ambiance is quiet and decorations for Christmas are very nice. This is nice for couples, friends and even families. It's a bit pricey, but it is worth it for how great the food and service are.

Had dinner hear the other night. We had not been here since the new management took over. Food was very good, service great and very reasonably priced. The Chipolte Crab Soup was excellent. Lots of crab and a nice hint of the pepper. All our meals were enjoyed and Ashly our server was excellent. The manager came by to check on us as well. Highly receommend you visit and enjoy!

We had a delightful Father's Day Dinner at Oak Valley Vineyard! So excited to find a very small restaurant with excellent food & service! - and to be able to walk through the vineyard after dinner with a glass of wine: icing on the cake! Thank you, Oak Valley Vineyard! Everything was perfect.

We had such a wonderful experience with Oak Valley during my son and daughter-in-law‘s wedding this Labor Day weekend! The Oak Valley Vineyards Restaurant staff worked tirelessly on the wedding details for over a year, and the end result was breathtaking! We also had the rehearsal dinner there, and it was perfect as well! They were able to provide guidance on all aspects of the wedding, gave prompt answers our questions, and the staff went out of their way to see that every request was not only met, but met quickly and with a smile. The lighting and decor set a backdrop for some of the most beautiful wedding pictures I have ever seen! The dinners were delicious, the venue itself is stunning, and I truly cannot give enough kudos to the staff. They knew us all by name- it was amazing! If you are seeking a venue for your special event in the San Antonio area, I 100% recommend this venue. Oak Vineyard Restaurant is the place that unforgettable memories are made! I know I will forget several staff names, but thank you Beth, Lori, Sue, Patrick, Chef Paul, Don, and Alex- along with all of the support staff as well! (Photo credit Rachel Cantu Photography)

Went for my birthday brunch. Sat us in the attic as there was a party occupying the usual downstairs area. Asked for a window seat for a view -- the view was a roof top. Food was eh. I had "their" style of eggs benedict - served luke warm, not hot and the steak instead of canadian bacon was too chewy to eat. Their advertisements are overrated.

First visit to restaurant. Had reservation, and was immediately seated. Wife had a mimosa, and I a bloody mary. Both drinks were well done. We both had a small house salad too start. The fresh greens were crisp with shredded carrots and grape tomatoes. The real salad bonus was the slice of fried green tomato on top. Anything battered and fried can't be bad. For entrees we had Hill Country 2 Step ( two eggs benedict, one with canadian bacon, and one with slice of beef tenderloin). Eggs accompanied with Texas hash, and wife reported all was excellent. My entree was Smoked Ribeye hash. It was also quite tasty. Prices were reasonable, and we will return to check out their smoked peppered prime rib for dinner.

Our dinner was excellent. Steaks were tender, seasoned perfectly and delusions. Food, service, and ambiance were perfect. I highly recommend Oak Valley Vineyard for a great evening of wine and food.

So happy this location reopened! The restaurant is lovely, the food exceptional, charming service, and an excellent wine selection. We sat on the enclosed patio and enjoyed the garden/vineyard view. I read an earlier review about shoddy service. Apparently the new management addressed that issue because the service we received could not have been better. Everything we ordered from the brushetta to the bread pudding was exceptional. I highly recommend.

My husband and I recently had dinner here. We had visited many times when it was under the old ownership. We were excited to see it reopen because we live nearby and it is convenient. I hope that our experience was just an off night. Here was our experience - my husband got there before me and he reports that when he walked in there was no one to acknowledge him or ask if he was there to dine. He waited for a while until the phone rang which prompted someone (a female) to come out from the kitchen. She took the call and the prompted the waiter to come to the front from the dining room. The female threw the phone at the waiter and told him it was for him. He took the call and told the people on the other end that he could not accommodate their request for an additional table on their reservation. My husband was then finally acknowledged after the phone call. He was asked if he had a reservation and he said no. My husband told the waiter he would like to have dinner with his wife who hadn't arrived yet. The waiter shook his in acknowledgement and walked back to the dining room. No offer of wine while he waited or any pleasantries were offered. I arrived 10 minutes later and we were silently seated immediately. The waiter did come to our table and ask for our drink order and he was nice. We were brought wine and that nights specials were described to us and then he asked what we would be having. Stupidly we placed our entree order without thinking to get an appetizer or salad. We never got the opportunity to add those because he never came back. Upscale dining generally includes a relaxing experience. We felt very rushed and hurried. The odd thing was this was a weekday evening and only the main dining room was open with several empty tables. There was only the one waiter in sight. The good news is that the food was fabulous. We never were offered any bread or anything but the entree was excellent. We had a special which included a grilled salmon with shrimp served over pasta. I can't say enough positive about the entree. It is my hope that they will get a handle on the front side of this restaurant because it really has a great potential.

My husband and I got married at OAK VALLEY VINEYARDS on 8/11/2019. Choosing OAK VALLEY VINEYARDS as our wedding venue was the best decision! EVERYTHING went very smoothly, beautifully, and the whole event was a complete hit! The event started on time, all the staff knew what they were doing, Beth & Lori were on top of EVERYTHING and it made the day so much better knowing that we didn’t have to worry about anything but having a great time. I recommend OAK VALLEY VINEYARDS to everyone because the venue is gorgeous, the outside space is stunning (we had our ceremony and reception outside), very little extra decor is needed, and all the staff, including Beth & Lori, are incredibly helpful, nice, polite, and they know what they’re doing! In addition, the in-house florist and DJ were amazing! Planning an out of state wedding was super stressful but this entire team was there for us every step of the way. It truly surpassed our expectations in every way.
Lovely Brunch Event
We went here as part of a brunch for a wedding. As a guest I do not know the cost but the food was amazing. I had an eggs Benedict dish with one having a steak filet and the other Canadian bacon, it was plentiful and prepared well. Other guests liked their food and it all looked delicious. The servers were prompt but otherwise stayed out of the event, at times I did not notice them. The grounds are beautiful and there are lots of places to enjoy a stroll. It looked like a great place to also enjoy a date or romantic meal. Although it has a ramp it is a bit hard for handicap with a gravel lot, I am currently using a walker for a broken vertebrae and it was a bit sketchy. I would be concerned with elderly or wheelchair bound guests.
