We were in Sellwood wandering around and asked for a lunch recommendation. The food was fast and good, and service was great. It was a comfortable place to relax for a while and enjoy the food. We didn't drink and that was not a problem. If I lived there, I would likely be back regularly.

We'd been looking forward to trying any Lompoc pub & settled on this one. We're unfamiliar with this part of Portland, so thank goodness for GPS. Our flight included -the powerful C Note Imperial IPA (6.9% ABV, 100 IBU), Fool's Gold session ale, Proletariat Red, Lompoc Special Draft, & others. All were tasty & very drinkable. Burger, sandwich, & fries were fine. We shared a Happy Hour totchos, which was very large. Service was fast, friendly. We were there on a sunny Sunday afternoon & it was pretty quiet. The place has a neighborhood hangout vibe, comfortable & welcoming. BE AWARE that parking is problematic. If you or anyone with you has mobility concerns, consider dropping them off, then troll for a parking spot.

We stopped here hoping for a quieter experience. We opted for the back outside area which was really cool. It was a covered space with picnic tables but I still felt like I was sitting out on a patio. There were patio lights strewn around the ceiling that gave it a nice atmosphere. We had a couple beers, totachos and a burger. The totachos were really good but I would have loved them to be crunchy almost to the point of being overdone. But that's just way I like them. The Hot Dam Burger was good too although it could have used more hot. All in all a good experience.

Being close to my ultimate destination of Oaks Park I decided to stop in to sample their beer and have an appetizer. I settled on one of their darker beer options, the name of which escapes me right now, and BBQ wings. The wings portion was a bit too much for one person. The beer satisfied. I then noticed a sign promoting their home made pies. Peach with vanilla ice cream! Very nice.

Great local hangout if you are in the Sellwood / Westmoreland neighborhood. We live nearby and love grabbing a quick bite here. Great beers, friendly staff, surprisingly good food (ruben, chicken strips, salads). Worth a visit for sure.

Things start lookin up when you’ve reached The Bottom. This place’s motto! Couldn’t agree more. Fun, cozy pub serving up top-notch food (their soups are particularly good) matched with some of the best beer in Portland.

Returned to this tried and true pub to be surprised that it has substantially expanded by adding the space formerly occupied by the dry cleaners next door. In addition to booths there is a comfy sitting area with easy chars in front of a fireplace. They didn't expand the kitchen -- which was already small -- so the wait for food could be even longer if the place is busy. But, hey, that gives you more time to drink the excellent Lompoc beers served up here.

Cool server great cider and delicious food Cozy atmosphere perfect for friend family or cool date night So much better than Laurelwood which had an hour wait we waited for 5 minutes and customers changed tables for our big group

I was really impressed with all of their brews. I had the Baltic Porter, it was very good. The happy hour menu is very reasonably priced. For $16 we got one pint and three appetizers. I ate inside but they also have a patio. The service was a little slow, but it was at a crowded time of night.

I love this place and am surprised there aren't more reviews. The food is always yummy and quick, there is a variety of seating from the covered patio to comfy chairs by the fire. Really good mac and cheese with bleu cheese. Family friendly booths and a kid's/senior's menu!

Excellent new menu from when we last visited. Friendly owner/wait staff. Good beer offerings. Will definitely return.

One of the meals most near and dear to my heart is a French Dip. It's tough to get one usually because I need a gluten-free bun. I met some friends at Oaks Bottom for a quick dinner on Monday, and I was delighted to find I could get it gluten-free. Not only that, Oaks Bottom has good beer and a great happy hour. Delicious "tatchos" (yes, they are nachos made with tater tots) and all sorts of other tasty fare. My friends had the chicken garlic soup and said it was to die for. The atmosphere is warm and boisterous, great for families as well. When the weather is better, there is also a patio outside for seating, as well as table out front on Bybee. It's a great meeting place to get some comfort food and good beer.

We ate at Oaks Bottom on a Sun. evening with another couple. I'll keep this short: the two women had burgers which they both said were very good and my wife never gets a burger, so it must have been good. She also had the soup which she loved. The other guy got a BLT with turkey added and loved it. I got the albacore tuna melt on toasted sourdough. I did not like it to the point of only choking down 1/2 the sandwich. Grossly over spiced with I don't know what. It was actually making me sweat. Anyway, the beer prices during Happy Hour were reasonable, the food is reasonably priced, our server was great, and the other three really enjoyed their food.

Oaks Bottom Public House is named after the Wildlife Refuge nearby. It is located on SE Bybee Blvd close to SE Milwaukie and many of the interesting shops in the Sellwood area. So this makes for a nice place to stop and recharge you batteries and enjoy some great beers. I found that the west side of the building has the bar with its various taps and some tables. The room off to the east side feels much more cozy, intimate, and a much better place to relax. This is where I went to select a place to sit. I choose a table with a direct view of the fireplace and the deer head mounted over it. Just in front of the fireplace are some very nice comfortable places to sit. Looking like someone living room furnishings. This would be idel for a close knit group of friends to sit and drink. I looked at the menu and the beer that caught my eye was LSD. A Lompoc special dark. The chalkboard in the main room listed it as LSD Smoky Dark Ale. That is what I ordered. And I can say that this is one of the best dark beers that I have ever had. It cost about $5.50 at the time I was here. And has a chocolate taste as well as other highlights. They are listed in the menu if you are curious to learn what all is in it. After I finished my pint of LSD, I walked to the bar and bought one of their pint glasses s I like how they looked. That was only $3. Happy Hour is 3 to 6 PM, and 9 PM to Close

Very much a pub feel. Service can be slow when it's full, that's probably the only thing I'd down rate it for.

We end up at Oaks Bottom about once a week or so, usually for happy hour. Their burger and beet salad are recommended choices. Tuesday is wing night. $.50 wings all day long. Oaks Bottom is a Lompoc Brewery restaurant, so they carry the standard Lompoc beers, including the Proletariat Red, Pamplemousse IPA, and Stout Out Loud. There are a few tables out front where you can people watch on Bybee. There is also a covered patio area out back that you probably would never know about unless you wander through the back, past the kitchen and restrooms. Service has always been great. Servers are usually fast and friendly, making this an easy choice when we are looking for a bite to eat and drinks.

Happy to see this place persisting. In the usual range of pub grub with a couple twists. My burger was very tasty and filling, and they give you plenty of potatoes. One appetizer here is totchos--nachos with tater tots instead of chips. Have about 10 of their own Lompoc beers, including LSD--Lompoc Special Draft--dark, chewy & hard to classify. Only one server working and she did her best. Reasonable prices. Sunny.

The patio is really cool and laid back. The beers are top-notch, one of Portland's underrated brewers. The C-Note and LSD are outstanding brews which can be enjoyed year round. The place is a little cramped and dirty, but the service and food make up for it. Check out Miser Mondays, when all their beers are $2.50. Also, try their artery busting totchos.

We were looking for a dog friendly place to have lunch. This place had about 5 stars so thought we would try. I guess if your drinking alcohol the food must taste better. The burger patties were good sized but very dry. Tater tots were the best part of the meal. They were crispy and the large order was huge! The Cesar Salad was good size . The dressing on it was not something I liked. The chicken from the salad was also very dry, but my dogs are enjoying it today! Definately not a 4 or 5 star place to eat. Food at Hot Rice to go or Yard House is for sure 5+, I would go to those instead.

Stopped here for dinner in Portland, Offers outside, inside and back patio seating. Local Oregon beer good everyday and seasonals. Tried a little of both, both good. Food good. Chicken tenders and mac and cheese for kids. Good beer and pub staples for adults.
Great Local Spot
This is our favorite local hangout with great beers that are constantly rotating, one of the best burgers in town, tots that come in portions bigger than your head and by far the best chili I've had in the Pacific Northwest. Service is always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. If you go on Mondays or any weekday from 3 to 6 p.m. their beers are only $2.50. Yes please.
