Our family really enjoyed our lunch. The food and service was wonderful. Our server, Cristina, had spot on suggestions and was fun. Our group of six had a lot of questions and she answered them all with knowledge. Thank you!

When staying at the Catamaran or not, why eat anywhere else? We loved the food, more than the seagulls, that sneak up and try to taste your dinner in one bite. Very entertaining. We had our 49th anniversary, the chef created a masterpiece dessert. It didn’t have a ‘49’ on it, so I humbly asked if they would take it back and put 49 on it. The chef did it all over again. So over the top nice!

Our server Kat was amazing. Great service and personality :) we’d recommend to other locals to come and eat here for any meal!

My teen daughter and I walked down the boardwalk to the sushi bar at Oceana at the Catamaran for a light meal and had the best experience. My daughter has specific dietary restrictions and I, well I am just picky and really wanted a roll that is no longer on their menu. Charles, the sushi chef, was happy to accommodate and made my daughter an all veggie roll wrapped in soy paper and made me the Baja shrimp roll. Both rolls were presented beautifully and tasted AMAZING! While he was working, Charles taught us a little about sushi, wasabi, etc and invited us to their weekly sushi making class on Thursdays, which we hope to attend. All around it was a delightful experience and we will most definitely be back! PS - You’ve got to try their authentic wasabi without the horseradish - it’s SO good!

Hotel processed food, nothing fresh and marginal service. Waste of money $300 brunch and time. Avocado toast had no fresh avocado some kind of guacamole mush and breakfast burritos and pork eggs Benedict all marginal at best. Cafeteria food!

Amazing food! We were celebrating our 38th anniversary and had a wonderful evening. Our waiter, David, did an outstanding job!

Anyone can have a tough night but either Oceana experienced a statistically improbable number of them coincidentally, or something's different about it and not in a good way. We'd stayed at the Catamaran (Oceana's parent resort) a few years ago and everyone had positive feelings about it and Oceana. For Oceana at least, that positivity was pretty much gone after a ponderous 3 hour meal. Starting with our reservation, nothing went very well. Things were busy when we arrived, although not crazily so for a summer Monday. Everything ran at a snails pace after that. Watched larger tables get cleared out thinking, okay we'll be up now, only to watch others seated after us with essentially the same order and the same wait staff jump us in line. Once things finally started to come out, it seemed effectively a surprise. We understand things happen but if you're going to charge the premium Oceana does, you should have some recognition when they start to go wrong and actively work to sort them out. The one silver lining is I'd kind of been holding out Oceana as potentially our highlight meal capping off our trip. It ended up making sense to slot them in sooner, still thinking we'd reprise them for the end. Solved that conflict in one night. It's still a cool property but not cool enough to merit a return trip without seeing a consistent string of solid marks.

My girlfriend and I came for Sunday dinner. Everything about the experience was amazing. Our server, Kat, was very attentive and personable. She provided us with recommendations for cocktails, which were excellent. She ensured our appetizers and entree were all prepared vegan as we had requested. Both my girlfriend and I highly recommend Oceana Coastal Kitchen!

Brunch was delicious, complete with bottomless mimosas. The buffet was so nice. The view and live music were the cherry on top. Adry was great!

Pedro is amazing and super sweet. I’d enjoy being served by him again. He was attentive to our drink levels and delivered everything on time.

What a great place! The food was phenomenal and the service was spot-on. Ron, our waiter, never rushed us but was there exactly when we needed him. It's a little bit of a drive for us but so worth it and will definitely be back. So good, in fact, that we might just book a night at the hotel too!

The place is gorgeous. I loved eating and watching the tropical fish. We had shrimp ceviche and two different sushi rolls with two different local brews. All was perfect. Desert was amazing. I had the fried cannoli ravioli which I cannot even describe. I’ve never had anything like it. My husband had orange mousse cake to die for. Just sad we will have to wait till our next trip to go again.

Go, just go and have a superb meal in a waterfront location served by people who care about you. Portions are large making this a great spot for sharing your meal. Food allergies were handled exceptionally well. We were handed a color coded menu to simplify ordering based on some serious concerns and we could not be more impressed with the chef taking the time to do this for us. Atmosphere was chill and “islandy.

We were a walk-in on a Friday night. Food was delish. Our waitress, Jenny, was professional, friendly and efficient! My Cosmo was wonderful, made with fresh squeezed line juice (you can tell!) ! Will def come back!

KAT is amazing - we were staying at the resort and wanted our last meal to be here before we head back to AZ. We were here for 3 hours and she never rushed us or made us feel like we needed to leave. Since I go to the Catamaran Hotel several times a year,I also frequent Oceana. I have never been disappointed with either the menu,food quality or service. It is a great place for seafood,but they also have dishes for people that dont enjoy seafood. The steak and Tomato soup are excellent! The Service Team is fantastic and I will name several,starting with Managers' Jessica Smith,Chris and Vicki. The following deserve special praise! Nichole,Claire,Iza,Hannah,,Ellie,Pedro,Blanca,Ron,Ariel,Hailey,Carmen and all the others that make my dinner so pleasurable. Thank You to All

I understand they just opened for business recently. They are open for breakfast and lunch. Their menu many has a lot of California style Mexican /American plates, plus rich looking hamburgers/fajitas. etc. I had a rich tasting plate that featured a lightly fried meat burrito, topped with two fried eggs. They also added rice, potatoes and refried beans. I would definitely order this again. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Located on highway from Chapala to Mezcala. Prices are excellent and excellent service. Highly recommended.

We were staying at the catamaran resort for a family event and we had dinner here. We were disappointed with this restaurant and found the food to be average at best, nothing special. The menu was limited, not a lot choices. The mixed cocktails were not very good and we had to send one of them back as it wasn’t even close to what we ordered. The service was slow and in general was not very good and it took forever to get the food out of the kitchen. All in all a disappointing dining experience at this restaurant and a place I can’t personally recommend.

Kat was an amazing server & the martinis were excellent!! The Atmosphere is beautiful and the food was very good as well. Would definitely come back!

Our server Cristina kept the champagne flowing and was very attentive to our needs. Empty plates were also removed promptly. Most importantly, Cristina was able to accommodate our request for a four top table with a great view rather than being tucked away in a corner booth where we would have all had to get up and go to the buffet at the same time.

This place was wonderful! View of the ocean from your seat. Best weather! We ate here for breakfast twice during our stay for the omelettes and once for an Anniversary dinner! We had great recommendations of the Smoked New York Steak and Fresh Toro! Neil was awesome!👏 ! Ron our server for dinner was excellent! We ended the meal with raspberry sorbet with champagne!

A great Dinner with a great view of Mission Bay. The recently revamped menu is a winner. If you are a fan of seafood,then the menu should impress you. The clam chowder has clams in the shell in the soup. I have never experienced that before. Itis tasty and excellent. I am a firm believer in the staff making ANY culinary or Hotel stay excellent or poor,and this is no exception. The staff from Manager Jessica Smith,Emmanuel,Matt,Mike and Vicki do so much to ensure an excellent meal. I wish to commend them,as well as Hostess Anette,Blanca and the others. The ambiance was beautiful looking out on mission bay. I had both breakfast and lunch with the same server, Cristina. She was very attentive and even brought me extra whipped cream for my berries and a jug of coffee full in the morning. One of my companions is vegetarian and suggested the best food. Both of her suggestions for my meals was amazing.

We had spend several hours in the area and wanted a beverage and dessert before heading one. The Caramaran is always a nice place to visit. We ordered two of their specialty cocktails and while pricey.. $20 each, they were fantastic. The lavender panna cotta was a massive delight. Smooth, creamy, and exceptional. We were seated with a small and out server was a delight. All in all a lovely time and highly recommended.

TL;DR The service was so terrible, we paid $200 for the worst experience we've ever had, they didn't have most of the menu available. My fiance and I went for our anniversary. All dressed up and excited for our reservation. We get there and they took us to a table that wasn't set. I'm genuinely not exaggerating when I say it took 30 minutes to get a server, we had to ask someone. By the time we got our drinks, a family of 5 that was seated after us had their apps. We kept waiting to find a server to be able to order food and get a water refill. The restaurant was busy and loud. There were kids running around and people being loud. We eventually get our food, and my boullabaise was filled with broken shell. Inedible. Felt like I was chewing glass. We asked for a manger, he came over, we still couldn't get anyone to get me water. The poke and Salmon were delicious, but everything else overshadowed the night. At the end, we had to go to the hostess to even get our bill. Nothing was comped, not even my drink. We paid our full bill, and in return for their effort and service, they get this review. Go somewhere else. They don't have the dish you want anyhow, they're probably out of it.

We had a great anniversary dinner here in May. We did an all Sushi dinner and the food was great and the view of the bay stunning. The best part of the evening was the wonderful service provided by Kat. She was friendly and helpful.

I brought my daughter to a special date breakfast after swim. The service was exceptionally good. Adry was so kind, engaging, and just fun to be around. This level of service is what makes eating out worth it these days. I can’t wait to come back.

What an amazing experience at the Oceana Coastal Kitchen. Cristina was our server both mornings for breakfast and she was so warm and kind. She was an attentive server and also very knowledgeable of San Diego. She offered some great recommendations for sightseeing, which was nice for us first time visitors from North Carolina. All of the staff were very kind and professional. Food was delicious and the view gorgeous! We will definitely be back with the whole family next time!

The farmers market tasing menu is outstanding. Chef Paul is a genius started off with scallops crudo, a creative tuna with beet that was insane 3rd course was a whimsical swordfish meatball on the most delicious polenta cake The wine pairing selections by Jessica were perfection The trifecta was completed by Matthew impeccable service I can’t wait to see you all again

My dinner was amazing! Sushi was amazing, super fresh, I had the summer roll, made by Charl. Nadia was my hostess and she was professional and accommodating. This is a great spot for the views. Right on Mission Bay. I have eaten here frequently in the past,and I have always had a great meal. This occasion is no exception. The menu has been revamped from the past,so that it is an entirely new dining experience. Having said that,there are still the old favorites. I tried the Chicken Teriyaki{new item} and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff,which can make or break a restaurant was superb,with consummate professionalism from Managers Jessica,Mike and Chris to waitstaff and Hosts,namely Blanca,Jenny,Iza Ariel,Hannah,Bailey,Elijah,Daniel,Brad and Jack. Special Catering can be arranged and I want to mention Soledad and Tony. Thank You to all!

The seafood menu was interesting and varied. Some of the best sushi I ever had. Tuna steaks were cooked to perfection. Great cocktails as well. We had outstanding service from Atlantic City Ron.

This spot is great for a casual lunch or a celebratory dinner. The Bayside location is beautiful, and the service was beyond friendly and efficient. Cristina even patiently helped my 86-year-old mom choose something suitable to her delicate stomach. It was a nice, relaxing lunch for all, and we’ll be back for the delicious food (try the hot honey chicken sandwich!!) and great service.

First time at this place. We sat on the patio which was beautiful and had an excellent ocean view with live music. Our server Rin was fantastic. Very attentive and did a great job at recommending items to us. The food was delicious and to our surprise all the bottles of wine were half price the day we were there. I would definitely go back if in the area again.

Our food was excellent! We had sushi, artichoke flatbread, hangar steak and ice cream for dessert. Hannah was an excellent waitress, right on top of all of our needs before we asked, yet gave us the privacy to eat without interruption. She was very sweet, pleasant and accommodating!

Amazing food, views and service! We had the pleasure of having Jessa be our server. She was very attentive, friendly and had great suggestions on the menu! Definitely coming back again and telling my family and friends to come as well! Charl at the sushi bar had great recommendations as well and helped us decide which on which rolls to get! The smoked salmon citrus roll was delicious it wasn’t something I would have ordered but so glad Charl recommended it!

We had a family vacation in San Diego last week, and ate (and drank) at Oceana quite often. All the servers and staff were excellent, but we especially appreciated Carmen's efficiency, professionalism, and hard work. Thank you for making our experience so wonderful! We will definitely be back!

These guys were dope, 10/10 would recommend. They were serving to the best of their ability, with the high demand and all of the people it was a lot to deal with. With that being said, they were amazing with customer service and being very helpful with drink selection.

The menu is limited. If you are not a sea food or red meat eater this is not the place for you. They need to bring back their summer parpadelle pasta dish and chicken salad sandwich and add a chicken dinner dish to the menu. Otherwise we love this place. We stay at the catamaran several times a year and usually just eat at oceana kitchen but had to venture out this visit as the menu did not work for our family of 15.

Kat! Thank you for treating my family like your own, giving us wonderful service, making delicious recommendations, and for being a heart for us! We loved everything about this night, especially celebrating my brother’s birthday and our small family reunion. We definitely would eat here again and would ask for Kat! We had salmon, scallops, shrimp roll, and brussel sprouts.

A hallucinatory place It looks nice and glossy but I wait at least an hour to get a portion of sushi. Never mind don’t come here unless you have nothing to do and just time to waste waiting for some sushi.

Chef Charles instructed my wife and I on how to make Sushi. It was a wonderful experience. Not only was he a great instructor, we had the restaurant all to ourselves! It felt like an extremely exclusive experience for less than $30 a head. Our kids were welcome to hang out in the restaurant while we cooked. I highly recommend this experience.

Hannah was wonderful! From beginning to end she was attentive and kind. Answering any and all questions we had. Extremely polite but not forced. We had a great lunch, overlooking the beautiful bay. Adry took great care of us. All the staff was friendly and welcoming, especially the hostess, Nicole.

Kat made my whole night she is the coolest and chillest and my whole family wants to adopt her and she told us to get the scallops are they were so good and I love it❤️

We’re locals and live right in Crown Point, and love walking down here for appetizer, drinks or dinner Friday or Saturday night. The food and service is always wonderful and the views are of course spectacular. Such a welcoming and casually beautiful place. We’re probably here once or twice a month.

Would leave more than 5 stars if I could! So delicious and that view!! The tuna was the best we’ve had! Shrimp and pasta were also amazing. Highly recommend!

We just love this restaurant. The bayside view is lovely, the service is good, and the food is great. We've visited here on our last 2 visits to San Diego and consider it one of our favorite spots. After dinner, walking on the sidewalk along the bay is beautiful and a lovely way to end the meal. Consider this spot for a nice, casual dinner or lunch.

The food was excellent, and the service from Cristina was even better!! We are already planning another trip and you had best believe we will be asking for her when we arrive! She is an exceptional server.

How people are not queuing out the door i do not know. I’m greedy and eaten the best steak ever and i am full. Wife had huge sunday roast which was perfectly cooked like my steak. Only regret is this is my last day here. I don’t. like writing reviews good or bad but this place is amazing food. Staff all top notch. If you ever come here try it on your first night don’t be left thinking wish i tried this on night one.

Drove down to SD for a quick staycation to celebrate our 13th year wedding anniversary…because it was such a short trip and so many options to pick from…Thank goodness I decided to go with the Catamaran Resort. One of the main reason were the reviews for Oceana Coastal Kitchen! From delicious food, to amazing ambience and terrific service (THANK YOU TO OUR SERVER KAT- you completed our night!) her recommendation was on point, we left extremely satisfied. If only all servers provided the experience you did for us! ☺️

My wife and I stayed at the Catamaran in September for a week and had dinner twice at the Oceana. Hannah was our waitress both times and did a fantastic job! She made great recommendations that we enjoyed and kept checking if we needed anything while also giving us space to enjoy the meals. The food and views were incredible! I highly recommend the Oceana Coastal Kitchen and look forward to returning in the future.

My first time experience will be memorable!!! As soon as I walked in I was blown away!!! The entire setup was amazing!!! As soon as I was seated I was greeted by an amazing server, and she immediately made me feel comfortable. The entire time from beginning until end the server, Lily would come and check on me and made me feel like I really belong there. Because of Lily, and the great food I highly recommend the Oceana coastal kitchen. This place is unrated I give it ten stars.

The service we received from Jenny, was impeccable. She was in tune with our every need. She was courteous and professional and treated our kids with the service round adults deserve.

We dined outdoors and were served by David who was extremely pleasant and accommodating. It was the end of March and I would advise folks to wear warm clothes if the weather is below the high 50s. The heat lamps help but are negated if it’s breezy. Dinner was excellent and so was the service. We enjoyed some people watching with a bride and groom taking their pictures and a kids movie night set up some distance away on the lawn

Hanna is an excellent server and always has a smile on her face! She’s very attentive but not overly so. Clam chowder is the best we have ever had. Catamaran also has wonderful breakfasts!!

We actually booked a reservation at another restaurant, because I typically don't do hotel food. It always seems to be mediocre; and in an environment as rich as San Diego, it is so much fun to try something new. We had a timing issue so we just chose to eat at the Coastal Kitchen at our hotel, the Catamaran. What a delight! To sit here beachside along the bay and have this gorgeous breeze, it really brought home how lucky we are to be on vacation here in San Diego. My husband loved his lox plate, my daughter loved the breakfast burrito and my grandkids loved their eggs, bacon and kids pina coladas. The highlight of our meal was Cristina our server. She was accommodating and fun and a total delight! We sort of came in waves, and she accommodated everybody's time frame and tastes. When I say she's an absolute Joy I mean that. Servers can be okay or really good, but she was absolutely great! So glad we realized we didn't have to wonder far to get a great meal and a great location with a great server!

Best brunch in PB. It's a small but super high quality buffet. Adry our server was very professional and attentive - totally not like a normal buffet. Highly recommend!

Had an excellent experience with our server, Kat. Food was excellent, ambience was great and Kat was honest with suggestions and dialed us all in individually. Would definitely suggest if you are in PB and want great food without a stuffy atmosphere.

Great hidden spot in San Diego !! Great views never crowded and the food is excellent !! Parking is Validated when you eat here so an excellent way to enjoy the beach and go for a walk after eating at Oceana

So I first came here before Covid, during Covid and then after Covid. The experiences were different because of what was going on in the world but each time was still a great time. Today we went for Mother’s Day and our reservation was setup before brunch actually started. The front desk had this hostess named Nicole who was extremely kind and professional. She informed me brunch didn’t start until 10am but that she would go talk to a manager to see if I can be squeezed into the 10am reservations. The manager kindly accommodated so we hung around the resort for an hour and half or so. The service from the waiter Steven to the quality of food was immaculate. I highly recommend this place for any event, brunch, lunch or dinner. Thank you Oceana and thank you Nicole! If it hadn’t been for you our plans would have been ruined for this event. I will see you guys next time!

We had high hopes for a seafood dining experience based upon previous reviews. The meal started off well with craft cocktails and a poke appetizer. Our salads then arrived immediately after the appetizer was served and sat while we finished our cocktails and appetizer. I chose the bouillabaisse for my entre; a poor choice. Bland broth, uncooked vegetables with minimal seafood. My wife's ahi was also somewhat bland. The dining room staff also needs to be better trained. We had a bus person clearing a table next to us, throwing dinnerware and silverware loudly onto a tray and dropping items on the floor. This ended up being a disappointing experience. Not recommended if you are expecting a fine dining experience.

Kat is the literal best. She rocks a million and she took so much care of us. We loved her service. everything we asked for she delivered with a smile on her face. she also added a very personable style which was much appreciated.

We went here for dinner and Jessa was our server. She was amazing! We were indecisive with what to get and she gave us great recommendations from the menu. We had the brussel sprouts, strawberry salad, oceana roll, salmon nigiri and a scallop roll. Shout out to our sushi chef Charl for making the rolls and nigiri! They were delicious and beautifully presented in a wooden sushi boat. Everything was delicious and we’re already planning another visit back!!

Two friends and I had dinner at Oceana Coastal Kitchen and was initially greeted by Nadia who sat us at the outdoor patio. Weather was perfect, the ambiance was intimate, and there was live music playing the background. Our servers Jessa and Hannah were very attentive. We were constantly checked on, our glasses were full, and they were very knowledgeable about the menu and the area, if you wanted other recommendations nearby. We ordered a few appetizers, a couple sushi rolls, and dessert. I definitely recommend the sushi here. It’s fresh and delicious. The sushi Chef, Charl, even came out to check up on us and everything was perfect. Overall my friends and I had a wonderful experience the food and atmosphere was amazing, and the staff was top-notch. I would recommend this place to anyone 10/10 and will be coming here again. (If I wasn’t in the moment, I would have taken plenty of pictures, unfortunately I was too into the moment)

Our family had a great dinner at Oceana. The food was excellent and they even had a kid’s menu. I was able to enjoy a delicious sushi roll (the lava roll), while my daughter enjoyed her mac and cheese. Our waitress, Kat, was lovely and attentive with very prompt service. Bonus points for the beautiful fish tank in the middle of the dining area, which kept the kids entertained.

We had the most phenomenal Sunday brunch. I cannot put into words how absolutely amazing the service was from Margarita. There’s always the worry when getting bottomless mimosas at brunch that the server will only come by a time or two during breakfast to refill, and I felt like we were consistently checked on and refilled as necessary. The spread for the buffet was beautiful, the breakfast entree options were delicious, and the ocean view was the cherry on top. We are locals that will absolutely be back after the great experience we’ve had.

Great food. Best mussels I have ever eaten. We are going back again this week. Service from Jessa was perfect. I highly recommend the clam chowder.
