I was taken to the restaurant for the amazing night view of the valley. It was beautiful a beautiful view that I will remember. The salad was good and the rest of the experience was just OK from the service to the food.

It's a bit out there but being between the Valley and Santa Clarita, it's a good meeting spot. Good cocktails with fair prices and a nice menu for apps. The real treat is the view. I bring any LA first timer here for drinks on the patio. It never fails to impress.

Dirty silverware crusted with food. Disgusting! Service was atrocious, took forever to get our orders. Waiter was as slow as a sloth, never refreshed our water glasses. Even thought they were empty. Will not be going back!

Oh my god where do I began!! I reserve a table a day before at this place, cause I want it to take my family to a decent restaurant.we got there 15 min before the reservation time, when I check in I told the front desk lady that we want it to seat outside,15 min later they call us that our table was ready, the front desk lady took us to an inside table, which we request it outside table,so we point it out to the lady which took us back to the front to wait for another table outside, the restaurant was NOT busy so we have to wait another 15 min for another table which we understood,we finally got a call for a table,we sat down they give us the menu and they only have a few items on The menu, only have hamburgers and chicken sandwiches which we order ,after that IT TOOK 1:20 MIN FOR THE FOOD TO ARRIVE !!which was RIDICULOUS ,I was about to walk out that restaurant ..the food was Mediocre,my daughter order an Odessy burger which came with no lettuce no tomato no cheese only the bun and and the meat, when we point it out to the lady they just brought the lettuce tomato and cheese in a separate plate, I was like whaaat !!!! I think we would of being better off at McDonalds trust me a lot better !!

Great place for Sunday brunch..amazing food and lots of choices. They have stations for making your own or lots of pre made food. The service was great and very friendly.

I was not disappointed, my anticipated visit to this place. Had brunch on Sat and it was very good. Best crab legs I have ever eaten (cold).

We really loved the Sunday Brunch with bottomless champagne. There was breakfast till 3pm. Food ranging from salads, meats, ceviche, menudo to noodles and Mongolian beef to great desserts. I highly recommend especially with large groups.

The Odyssey Restaurant is a lovely restaurant on a hill overlooking north San Fernando Valley. It has a lovely patio with fire pits where you can enjoy cocktails at sunset year round. If you prefer an indoor bar, there is a very lively one with great drinks. We enjoy going on Fridays for their seafood brunch which at less than $20 pp is a wonderful value. They offer shrimp, crab legs, a great variety of hot dishes, salads and deserts. Their brunches on holidays and weekends are great and definitely at great prices. I highly recommend this San Fernando Valley gem.

Went to see fireworks and ate at the bar because it was so crowded. Food is decent - and more of any olderstyle but still fun.

Enjoyed Christmas brunch and New Year's Eve at Odyssey. Brunch selections were varied with breakfast and lunch items. Prime Rib was delicious as well as the Oysters (yum, yum) and sushi. All around a good choice with unlimited champagne/mimosas. New Year's Eve was perfect in the bar with no cover and a GREAT view bringing in the New Year. I give this place a thumbs up on the venue. It does need a bit of updating as during the day it is obvious the place is "tired and worn".

I went to the Odyssey to arrange a banquet for my club. I had dinner there alone after making arrangements. The menu is very good, the location and views are among the best. Service was very helpful and friendly and I really liked the food. I suggest this as a wonderful overall experience.

The Odyssey Restaurant in Granada Hills is one of our favorite "treat ourselves" places. The food is always excellent, the wine selection is great, and the view is particularly nice at night . overlooking the lights of the San Fernando Valley. Also, their Sunday brunch is a cut above most others . . at a reasonable price. Make a reservation because they're always busy.

The Odyssey Restaurant, located in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, is known for its fantastic hill top view of the Valley as well as for its banquet facilities. On November 21, 2015, I decided to have a self-celebratory dinner there. I found some changes at the Odyssey from my previous visits. Valet parking became “complimentary parking”, a new slimmer menu, and higher prices. From the moment I entered the self-parking area, I noticed the lack of safe lighting. This could be problematic for restaurant patrons. The next disappointment was the service, which was very slow. The server appeared finally with the cocktail and dinner menu in hand. When he took my order for a glass of wine, I had to inquire about some bread for my table. After perusing the menu, I settled for the appetizer Odyssey Sampler, which included “prime rib tacos, calamari and mango habanero shrimp.” The server did not appear in a timely manner to take my order. I finally had to ask a server for the adjoining table if she could bring me some water. The server for my table was nowhere in sight. He finally came and I placed my order. When my meal came, I found the taco meat very dry, and the menu did not specify “fried” calamari. The shrimp were quite tasty. That was the redeeming feature. Not once during my meal did the server approach my table to inquire if all was well. I had to ask another server for a take home box. Overall, I was quite disappointed with my odyssey to The Odyssey. If I return someday, I will sit at the tables in the nearly empty lounge, for better service, the sports channel on the TV and view of the San Fernando Valley

This is a great San Fernando Valley, out-of-the-way spot for a nice lunch meeting, (or dinner), with easy parking, decent service and food, an OK wine selection and a full bar with Stella on tap. The setting is comfortable and unhurried, with plenty of room to be in an area where you are not around other people, if you want some privacy. The menu for lunch has nice combinations of soups, salads and entrees. The tortilla chicken soup is memorable and the fresh Salmon was delicious.

The banquet was held in one of their meeting halls. The atmosphere was good. Main course was good - very tender beef roast. Salad was fairly bland. Understand that the view was good on a clear day but didn't check it out.

My 50th HS reunion was held here on 9/20/14. Having it here ruined a memorable time. Horrible food, rushed servers, surly bartenders. NEVER hold or go to an event here.

View of the Valley is great. Grab a table by the window or have drinks outside next to the fire pit. Be ready for a very average food quality and service. Restaurant is old, not just outdated but even has a 'ole smell' to it.

They have a near 360 view of the San Fernando Valley. It is well worth a trip just for the view. They have many banquet rooms for weddings, office functions, etc. They also have a Saturday & Sunday brunch buffet. The food for the banquets are not bad. I have had numerous function here and have been very happy with them. The regular dinner & happy hour food is average. The Ahi Tuna Tower is not fresh & the tuna has parts of the skin. It is very chewy due to the skin. The beef skewers were cold & tough. The brunches are good value for your money.

Very crowded place, and they seemed to have been confused with our reservation as they forgot to call our name when the receptionist have told us to wait . Not until we verified of our table did they realize they overlooked us after waiting for over an hour of waiting. Service was okay as they were very busy and they seemed rushed and the food was just okay. I feel that this place is ideal for big groups and events only and not for ordinary dining out. There were ample parking. And there is nice view if you’re lucky to get a table with the view. I wouldn’t go back there unless it is for an event or a big group dining.

Service was attentive. The food variety was not too impressive though, especially for the price. I've had better brunch elsewhere for the same or similar price. I tried one of the things from the carving station; it was dry. My friend tried the flounder. She said it was dry, too, although she enjoyed the osso bucco. We sat near the station where fajitas were prepared. I felt ventilation was poor.

Last minute visit to LA and was told this is a must eat at location due to the view. It was pretty, overlooks the city and you can see the lights. Recommend going at dusk so you can see the sun setting. Unfortunately weather was cold and windy so we didn't get to walk outside but nicer weather it would have been perfect. Our table was next to a large window with unobstructed view of the city. Make reservations for a little earlier than normal dining (we went at 630 on a Sat) so we could get a good table. I am not sure why everyone is saying the food wasn't good. I love food and I thought this was very good. We had the sampler appetizer and everyone was yummy, and filling. I ended up getting an appetizer special (muscles and clams) with a side ceasar salad instead of a full meal because the sampler was so much. My spouse got a Tbone steak special and thoroughly enjoyed it. He took loves food/steak and he said it was cooked exactly as requested (med rare) and was tasty. The bread was great, the service was wonderful and the view was nice. I think it's a stop you should make while in the city. Prices weren't really outrageous either.

I took my 25-year-old son to brunch here for his birthday. We absolutely loved it. The food was of the best quality and so much variety. They had crab legs, shrimp, sushi, a taco bar, prime rib, robs, chicken, Chinese spare ribs, a chocolate fountain to dip fruit and rice crispy squares in, and they even had an entire room just for desserts with someone making fresh bananas foster. I could go on and on. One of the best brunches I have ever been to, but you pay the price. It's not cheap, so I wouldn't do this regularly, but quite nice for a special occasion.

Visiting L.A., as with any big city, can be a daunting task. Odyssey has three special venue restaurants in the San Fernando valley. Two, "Castaways and Odyssey are in the hills and have great views. The 94th Aerosquadren in Van Nuys is also a special and unique resturant. They are all pricey but you are paying for the ambiance and location. All are great for that special night. The food is good too but remember you are paying for the ambiance.

It's a given. You pay for the view at a place like this. Sure, the price was a bit high even for Los Angeles but we spent the day at the nearby Nethercutt Collection admiring expensive cars and wanted a taste of that life for my sister-in-law's birthday. We were lucky to arrive early enough for the Sunset Menu which was a good value with nice options. Salads before dinner were a nice mix of greens with a very good house dressing. The Clam Chowder compared with fresh chowder on the East Coast. Three of us had the prime rib and one had the salmon. The salmon was "maybe the best she ever had". The prime rib was done as requested and seemed larger than 10 ounces. Portion sizes were very generous. We all took home leftovers. Broccoli was tender crisp but the carrots were more warmed than tender crisp. A steak knife was required for cutting. Cheesecake for dessert sealed the deal. Seating was tight and uncomfortable. Service by Christopher was excellent and he had help from two others to keep beverages full and were attentive but not obtrusive.

Party was early Sunday morning with a mass said first. Originally the mass was supposed to be outside, but due to rain it was quickly moved inside. Everything was really nice. The food was good and the service was on point. Everything we asked for was provided and all ran smoothly. Great time all around.

Oddessy like it's counterpart The Castaway makes its name by being a venue more than just its public restaurant. With several banquet spaces the holiday season its a packed house. My company had 1 of the many rooms reserved for its view over the valley and the ambiance was quite lovely with soft holiday lights and warm table decor. There were however a few mix ups with our timeline and more importantly our menu which were a little disappointing but the service staff was able to adjust and certainly not their fault that the catering office gave them the wrong info. Ultimately it was a pleasant event but no different than you'd get at any venue.

Went here on a company dinner - the first thing when walking into the restaurant is the smell - unpleasant old carpet smells that you'd also find in stuffy old pubs in the United Kingdom. The whole place is quite dark, dark red carpets and brown furniture. The food was ok and so was the service.

Went to the Odyssey for Sunday brunch to celebrate the wife's birthday. Nancy, our server, took excellent care of us; attentive but nonintrusive. She kept our glasses topped off and the staff kept the brunch plates cleared. The food was absolutely over the top. Fresh sea food, peel and eat shrimp, snow crab clusters and the biggest mussels I've ever seen anywhere. They have several cooked to order stations serving pasta, omelets, fajitas and oriental stir fry. A separated kids buffet targeted the younger sets specific tastes with corn dogs and a big bowl of gummy bears. Oh, and lest I forget, the hot carving station had an excellent roast of beef, succulent ham and a very moist and flavorful turkey breast. This place is certainly not a cheap meal but the quality, service and ambience make it an excellent value. In other words, you will get your money's worth.

Went for anniversary and enjoyed the experience. There was a promotional menu with wine flights and it was a great deal as part of Dine LA. We had been here on & off for years but thought of it mainly as a bruch place. Dinner is super romantic I recommend it. Food is ok some things we loved such as the first course cheese platter and the onion soup. . The pasta entree looked great (with a lobster tail which was delicilous) the pasta a bit bland though. Short ribs good . Bread very good, Our waiter Chris was superb, five stars for him It can't be easy handling a Saturday night service without any bus persons to fill water and so forth . I could overhear some other staff at nearby tables and I realized we got th 1st prize with Chris The view is a winner. Wish there was better access without those little stairs..All in all we had forgotten about the Odessy and will return soon it is also very conveniently located and overall a great value.

On November 22, 2018, The Thanksgiving Dinner was less than stellar. Very expensive. Not worth the money. We called for reservations a month before we arrived, even with a reservation it took them close to an hour to seat us. There were so many people waiting! The food however was overpriced and cold. We forgot it was buffet, the last time we were there for Mother’s Day Brunch the food was cold. Where we were seated it was very dark. The servers were polite. The hostess was rude when asking about parking for handicapped, she stated used Valet Parking! Not enough parking spaces for handicapped, I was disappointed with my dinner.

This is our second time dining at the Odyssey and both times We have been disappointed. The price is way too high for the quality of the brunch. It's not bad, but not worth the price. I had an omelet that was overcooked, the prime rib was very dry and the seafood was not of high quality. The waffles were good but ow do you mess up a waffle? Overall, you are paying for the views and mediocre food at best.

We have eaten at this restaurant so many times, and each time is pretty good. We were engaged here over 20 years ago. I have been to numerous business events, where I always enjoy the salmon. Last week, we attended a conference and tried something new, the ribs, and they were filling. The baked potato and the veggies were very undercooked. They looked good, wish I would have taken them home and cooked them instead of leaving them on the plate. The rolls are good and they come with butter. The wine served seemed of high quality. I sent a friend here for the early bird dinner and he liked it. He sent me a photo. I like the happy hour and the view. Definitely recommend, but it seems that it used to be better.

The place is beautiful and our outside table had a great view of the valley, but the menu prices were for fine dining and food didn't reflect that. I might go back for lunch one day, but mostly for the view.

I go here for 2 reasons: A good happy hour and sunset and a GREAT brunch buffet on special occasions. The buffet brunch actually features sushi along with all the other traditional foods. Must call ahead for reservations.

It's hard to beat the view from the Odyssey's patio. Looking south out over the San Fernando Valley, you can watch planes land at Burbank airport or count the lights popping on as the sun goes down, if it's clear. But then, it's always clear, so not to worry. And then there's the food. It's fine, really. So are the drinks. But not particularly memorable; I guess it's just hard to compete with that view....

I visited this location for the first time to attend a banquet and enjoyed myself. FOOD - Items were served fresh, hot and available. Staff was attentive to ensure that serving utensils were available, food was on the line (buffet) and items were presentable. Food (fruit, vegetables, meats, sides and bread) tasted good and was enjoyed by everyone. PARKING – Signage was poor for self-parking; however, ample signs for Valet and Handicapped parking SERVICE – We had to ask for water to be served at our table. Took a long time for wine to be delivered. VENUE – Venue is dated but the grounds are beautiful. Bathroom entry/exit has a tight configuration. I would return to eat here for dinner or use this location for an event.

I recently dined at The Odyssey Restaurant where I celebrated my birthday with a few friends. We started our meal with the Ahi Tuna Tower. The tuna was served tartar with chili, soy, radish, avocado, mango, ginger, and topped with roe (cavier). I would highly recommend this as a starter. For our entrees, three of out four people in our party ordered the Filet Mignon while I ordered the 14 oz Prime Rib. My Prime Rib was seasoned nicely and served with au jus. Everyone enjoyed their Filets, however, one of the Filets was undercooked. We paired our steaks with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon which I felt a bit overpriced. Our meals however were moderately priced. We completed our meals with a fresh fruit dessert which included strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. It was laced with rich grand marnier cream as well as rich whipped cream. It was very light and quite delicious. We also had a slice of cheesecake which everyone at the table enjoyed. From the quality of food, to the ambiance, to the superb service and attention to detail displayed by our waiter, Mario, I would definitely dine at The Odyssey again!

My family and I have been going to the Odyssey Brunch Buffet for as long as I can remember. The food is great (usually always the same stuff) the staff is always helpful and friendly, and very generous with the champagne!

I booked reservation through Open Table. It asked you if it’s a special occasion and I said yes , it’s a 60thbirthday . You cannot be seated until your entire party is there no issues . Sebastian took us out on patio area, I said no we’re sitting inside. He indicated “if you want to sit inside. you’ll have to wait an hour for a table “. There were plenty of empty tables all around I wasn’t thinking oh we would sit by the window. I just wanted to sit inside . Temperature in Los Angeles by the way last night was 62°. . He did mention there were heaters and “ we should be fine “ I would have walked away right then. We had a party of six . Our waitress was really kind and nice overall no complaints. Here’s icing on cake no pun intended. I have never been to a restaurant where you tell them it is a special occasion and they don’t bring you that person dessert? We were asked if we wanted dessert said no and given check. Six people for $650. It’s not about the money for me. It’s the experience I would not go back again. It’s not waitress fault about celebration. It’s managers responsibility to make sure his customers are happy. I would not return and I would not recommend however, can review ambience 9 and food 6 occasion 0.

A group of 5 of us (including a 9 year old) went for dinner on a Saturday night and had an excellent meal. The food was great - from appetizers (ahi poke, spinach dip) to entrees (steak, salmon, chicken, mac and cheese) and the desserts (cheesecake, chocolate cake and tiramisu) - although we were truly stuffed by the time dessert arrived. Our server was excellent - patient, timely, detailed oriented - so I could avoid lactose throughout my meal, and creative - getting "the best chocolate milkshake I ever had" as quoted by the nine year old. As many others have said, the views are wonderful. There are several "decks" so various views. While some may consider the setup a bit "old school", it is a complement. They do it well.

I have been a patron of this restaurant for over 30 years, but I haven't been there recently. I decided to take my girlfriend there for our early Valentine's Day dinner and I was extremely disappointed. It was hands down the worst service I have had in a restaurant in a long time. It started off when we sat at the bar waiting for our table and it took over 15 minutes to get service. After we paid for our drinks - which were decent - and sat down, it was another 15 minutes before we would see the server. To make a long story short, I had to go to the kitchen in order to get some water for my table... twice. When my filet got to the table, it was raw, not rare, raw. The waiter explained that the staff was overwhelmed and he was sorry. Not as sorry as I was for wasting our date night on this place.

I had the opportunity to visit the Odyssey Restaurant in Los Angeles for the first time in August 2014. I was pleasantly surprised by the view from its hill top location over looking the valley, it was beautiful. There was ample parking and the restaurant was not crowded. It's a nice place to take your wife or significant other for a nice lunch. I would rate the meal a 3+. I had blacken salmon which was excellent and steam vegetables which were also quite good. However, I was not impress with the mashed potatoes, they were not cold but cool and the the consistency seem a little strange like they came out of a box.

I recently attended a large event (possibly 300+ people) at this facility. Clearly, they were not prepared to accommodate a group this size, even though they have a long history in the event catering business. Upon arrival, all of the guests were confined to a smallish entry area for at least a half hour before being allowed to enter the larger dining room. Also in this area, was the check-in tables, the appetizer table, the photographer, and the bar. This made for an extremely-congested, uncomfortable, and possibly unsafe situation. The bar was difficult to get to and it took an unacceptable length of time to get a drink. To make matters worse, my 4oz. pour of house wine was $7 and was served in a water glass, because they ran out of wine glasses. As for the food, my salmon was actually quite good. However, for those who ordered steak (not given a choice as to doneness), some were served a rare piece of meat and others received a dry, over-cooked piece. Although the servers appeared to be trying, it was apparent that they were understaffed. Water was not replenished until after the dessert was served and plates were cleared. This was a disappointing experience, because previous events I have attended at the Odyssey had quite successful outcomes. Based on this experience, I would not recommend it to anyone planning a large, catered event.

We went to the Odyssey Restaurant last Friday night as we have a $100 gift card that have had for 10 or more years. Plus we were down in the LA area. We went for dinner but started in the bar for a drink before dinner, cause the restaurant wasn't open yet. We ended up having a couple of odevores. And we're too full. We had the Crab cakes (3) for $17. Very good lots of crab. And the spinach dip. $7 on hh menu I had a couple of glasses of merlot and the wife had a couple of whiskeys. We were just too full to have a big, meal. The views are great. At 4 pm this time of year the sun shines pretty hard in your face in the bar. But still a great place. Our waiter David G (#604) was very good. OAttentive but not intruding. We will be back again, but will probably skip Odevores.

We decided to go to the Odyssey for Sunday Brunch to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was a marvelous choice! It was a rainy day in the Valley, which just added to the beautiful view. They serve a wide variety of foods, including quite a bit of seafood and offerings with an ethnic flair, in addition to the standard breakfast choices. The desserts are AMAZING! We'll be back!

It appears that this location survives on special events, and that was the reason we were there. I found the location to be dated, but in some sections it was tranquil, while others reminded me of a bad 60's restaurant. The place appears to be coming apart in sections. The view is so dependant on when you go and the weather and to be honest is not that impressive. While the food was not horrible it was also not memorable, and had a somewhat dated look to it. I found the bar prices to be a complete and total rip off, now if the place wants to recover revenue this is not the place to do it. (Come on $19 for a beer and a small mixed drink) As I do not live in this area they are not dependant on my business, but I would encourage anyone else planning an event at this location to ask about drink prices for your guests. WORD OF CAUTION: if the event is going to be outside, have them spray the grass for ants, we were getting swarmed with them, to a point you get that itchy feeling (even when they are not on you)

Despite having made a reservation a month prior, we were relegated to a basement room that was freezing with no ambiance. A $400 bill for extremely mediocre food and a 45-minute wait for a dessert that was clearly thrown in a microwave. The server did his best in an understaffed situation. Not once were our water glasses refilled. It was an extremely disappointing Thanksgiving meal for our family. We will not be returning to this restaurant EVER.

We waited for about an hour and fifteen minutes to get our food. Waiter never asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks. Some of the food we received was cold. Kids Mac & cheese was nasty. Took forever to get our bill. Worst service I have ever received. Save your money and find another restaurant.

The Odyssey Restaurant is simply fantastic. After booking my reservation, which went perfect, there was the option of having roses delivered to my table - perfect! My wife and I arrived at 4:30pm to spend an hour or so in the bar enjoying the view and our dinner reservation was for 5:30pm. The timing was perfect: not many people in the bar or restaurant so we sat by a window with an incredible view of the San Fernando Valley and I-405 cutting across it. Since the restaurant wasn't that busy, we were offered the best window table in the house if we could wait 20 more minutes - no problem! We wanted to hang around until sunset anyway to see the lights of the city come up. We were not disappointed! We got an incredible table, with an incredible view of the valley and the firepit outside below the window - incredible. After we sat down, the maître' d brought the dozen roses I had ordered - perfect!! Our server, Stephanie, was AWESOME. We never had to wait for her to appear - she was very attentive to whatever we needed and a great resource for our dining as well as delightful to converse with. Without our asking, the restaurant provided us with small glasses of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries as a special gift from them to us for our Anniversary - perfect! From the complimentary valet service, through drinks in the bar, steak in the restaurant, and dessert - a wonderful anniversary experience that was simply .... perfect.

We attended the New Years Eve event on 12/31/13. It was a buffet dinner with a DJ providing music. The place was sold out, but it didn't feel overly crowded. There were plenty of staff available to bring water, clean off he dishes and help guests with requests. The food was pretty good and offered a nice selection of appetizers and main dishes. There was never a long line at the bar because they had 3 bartenders working. The crowd was a nice mix of all ages. The DJ played a good mix of music that kept everyone dancing right up until the New Years ball drop. We had such a good time that were are already planning on coming back next New Years Eve!

The last time I've been here was abou 20+ years. The food was better back then. Paid $61 bucks for lunch that included 2 drinks. Yikes. The bread and butter plates were greasy. For a "high end" restaurant, it was disappointing. The food was okay. Ordered the prime rib sandwich. Husband had the burger. The place needs an update. It looked as shabby as it did 20+ years ago. Specialty Restaurants need to put some money into renovation of most of their restaurants. It's old and outdated. The décor looks like it's from the 70's. The view is great and sitting outside for happy hour I'm sure is very nice. That's about it. You're paying for the view to be there.

A billion dollar view of the San Fernando Valley. It is time that they spent some money to renovate this restaurant. The food is always good and the service is good as well.

Went to the Odyssey for a family dinner on a Sunday evening. Although there were very few other diners in the restaurant, the service on this occasion was terrible and incredibly slow. To begin with no water was brought to the table. My husband finally went in search of the wait staff to ask that water be brought to the table after waiting for 15 minutes. It took much too long for our meals to be served. One person in our party was overlooked and did not receive her meal until we questioned the whereabouts of it. Finally, the bill was miscalculated. All in all, a bad night service wise. The food ranged from good to okay. The prime rib is always good, my short rib dish was tasty, and everyone liked the salad and bread. The prix fix dessert was just plain old cheesecake - nothing special, probably bought in bulk. However, I do not think any of us will return because the service was so inadequate.

Been here all different times and day, from Happy Hour on a Thursday night 3-7p then had a salsa band play 6-9 which was a surprise. We ended up staying way past Happy Hour,Lol...Drinks & appetizers are the usual reduced price. I luv the views where you can chill in the outdoor patio for drinks or have a nice dinner with views. I've attended weddings and corporate events here, always a pleasure coming. Food can be on the pricey side and smaller portions, but taste & flavor is very good. Their lunch and brunch menus are amazing!

Good bread to start, entrees on the large side (two could share), decent wine list.

nice quiet place above the valley. food was normal...

Stopped in for a late lunch, few tables were occupied. After sitting for 10 or 15 minutes a waitress finally stopped by. She explained that she would not be our server but offered to take our drink order. We were ready to order food and she took it as well. A different waitress brought our drinks and eventually our food. The fish and chips and fish taco were nothing out of the ordinary. Our waitress checked on us once, literally asking "Everything OK" as she walked quickly past our table. Getting our check was another ordeal. I actually stood at our table trying to catch her eye. After several unsuccessful attempts. I flagged down the original waitress who got our check to me.

We were a Sunday Brunch party of 21, celebrating an 80th birthday. Our server, Ramon, was superb! Our champagne glasses were never empty, and that is how I measure the success of a Sunday Brunch. The buffet had a large variety of food, too. This restaurant is a member of the Specialty Restaurant family that includes The Proud Bird, Castaway, and Orange Hill, so the brunch was bound to be good. They do a fabulous job.

The view is absolutely incredible so if you go at night for drinks, can't beat this location. The buffet on Sunday is huge and looks great but on closer inspection the food is actually just so-so. The kids like it because they can choose their own without waiting for the meal to be prepared but everything from the sushi to the main meat courses to the salads and desserts is less than high quality. Out of towners might like to be taken there for the view and the prime rib but mostly for the view of the entire valley from the north end but don't expect more.

Nice view of the Valley, that's about it. Service and food are nothing to rave about. Eat somewhere else and come here for drinks on the patio next to a fire place.

I attended a large family/friends event in the afternoon. Parking was adequate. The room was large enough to comfortably accommodate our group of 200+ The carpet and decor was a little tired, but with the spectacular views of the San Fernando Valley out of the floor-to-ceiling windows, who looks that closely? The food was served buffet style and was tasty. The service was very attentive for a buffet service

We where in town for bussiness and this was recommed by the hotel I am not sure of what other option are in the area. According to our hotel this was one of the better places I was not impressed. Equivalent to pub food or hotel lounge food. The place is dated and had a slight stale oder. They forgot our appetizer and salad but took them off the bill overall it served the purpose of proving a meal.

Have attended two retirement parties this year at the Odyssey. The selection was nice; the latest party had salmon and chicken marsala both of which I enjoyed. Other choices were typical banquet type food; decent. Service was excellent. What really sets apart the restaurant is the views and the nice grounds.

For brunch today, we went to Odyssey, located at 15600 Odyssey Dr., in Granada Hills, CA. I have wanted to try this restaurant for over 40 years, so today we decided to go! We ordered their Brunch Platter For Two, which comes with Classic Eggs Benedict, Herb Roasted Prime Rib, 1/2 pound Alaskan Crab Legs, Belgian Waffle, Apple Smoked Bacon, Chicken Apple Sausage, and Roasted Potatoes. We also added a 7 ounce Lobster Tail. Every single item in this brunch was DELICIOUS!!!!! Everything was split for sharing, and proportioned in just the right amount!! The crab and lobster were both sweet tasting, the prime rib was cooked to perfection, the potatoes were served with onions and both yellow and red peppers, which really made them 'pop', the bacon and sausage were yummy, the waffles were also yummy, and the eggs benedict, which I had never before, was delicious!!! The view of the valley, along with our excellent waiter, Rob, made for a WONDERFUL experience!!!! I very highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!!!! My rating: 10++++

Wen here for a friends wedding reception. the staff was friendly and attentive and the food was great. Will go back 100% next time I am in the area. It is a little hard to get to up on the hill, just watch the drive, road up to it needs work.

The attraction here is the view from Odyssey’s mountain top perch looking south at the 405 madness and the LA sprawl. At night it is spectacular. There is a bar, banquet facilities and a main restaurant. Eating or drinking on the patio is great because you can get a more expansive view than from the dining room. I had a chicken dish that was good but not great. Fresh seafood appetizers were nice and the desserts were the highlight of the evening. You will find every protein from land or sea on the expansive menu. It is pricey even for LA.

Went for cocktails and appetizers on Saturday afternoon; our server, David, was very friendly, accommodating and efficient. The cocktails were excellent and the service excellent. We enjoyed the appetizers and the view. A nice quiet afternoon.

We were there for lunch, their lunch menu was very very limited. They offer the "All you can eat buffet lunch". Don't get the buffet unless you love pasta because they make your pasta to order. They had a seafood buffet the day that we were there. All the fish was dryed, the chicken and the roast beef was also dry as if its been in their warmer FOREVER! Another thing was that they seem very slow to stock back up the buffet once items are low. There was no soup bowls, soup spoons, no dessert, no plates, etc., it just seem very disorganize for a fancy, expensive restaurant.

Sunday brunch is quite an experience there's a great number of selections however they do have a hard time keeping them stocked which means you may not get what you're looking for, but certainly you'll find something. The service was excellent. However it's expensive

I went here with a couple of co-teachers for socials and the view from the hill just captivated me! The overall ambiance of the hotel speaks of old world class- from the view to the valley, to the wooden walls of the restaurant. I ordered a non-alcoholic Pina Colada and some appetizers like spinach artichoke dip that was delicious ! i would certainly want to come back here hopefully with my family next time !

We had not been here for almost 3 decades, as we no longer worked in the Valley. NOTE: Restaurant is in Granada Hills, to break it further down than the catch-all of Los Angeles, which is almost 500 square miles!! We were here with 6 others for dinner. My wife and I both had the salmon and it was very good. The view is also very good, overlooking the Valley and seeing the CA-101 Freeway, as well as many houses. I did notice that some of the carpeting looked a bit old, some places with tears that were duct-taped.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Well I should say, I'm not often impressed by many hospitality experiences these days ,especially when it comes to cuisine. The restaurant was abuzz and I was early so I checked in and made my way to the bar. The bar staff was busy but they got me soon enough. When my party arrived, we were seated. They were able to accommodate my request for a window seat with a view of the city. Outstanding view. Our server (Nancy) was wonderful and very accommodating but not overbearing. The food came out on time and was delicious. My salmon was a little fishy and was not flaky. The presentation was gorgeous. We ordered an Italian Pinot Grigio I had not heard of but it was full-bodied. Nancy noticed I didn't ask for a to-go box for my salmon and that it was almost all still on my plate. She mentioned it and I said it was a little fishy. She must have immediately notified the manager (Hayden Janus), because he came to our table almost immediately and asked how my salmon was (not just how was dinner, which I appreciate). I explained it was a bit fishy and was not flaky. To note, this happens sometimes but it's not always detectable until you taste it. Hayden expressed his apologies and offered to remove it from the meal. The entire experience was wonderful and I plan to go back. The view is exquisite!

Cannot say enough about this restaurant and our Thanksgiving buffet. It was absolutely wonderful from the food to our waiter, Jesus, from the view to the entire stall. Will definitely be back!

Went their two late for lunch, but to early for dinner, we were so hungry,so we decided to eat appetizers and have a drink. The appetizer was great, as well as the wine. Our problem was our waiter. After we got our food, our waiter no longer wanted to serve us. He walked by us at least a dozen times, but wouldn't stop at our table unless he was flagged down. Asked for a dessert menu, never came. I flagged him again, he finally brought their dessert plate. We then waited 15 mins. To see if he would come back, no luck. I got up and handed him the check. Another 15 mins went by, he never came back. Walked pass us about 5-6 times, never brought us our change. I got up again, asked one of the female waitress, if we can get our receipt and change. She said she will ask our waiter. Waiter never came, I flagged him down for the 3rd time, asked him for my receipt, when he asked me if I have paid him yet ?that's when I knew I was dealing with someone who doesn't know his job, maybe doesn't care, or just didn't like us personally. We felt the latter was it. Anyway, we love Odessy, we were there 3 weeks earlier with a party of 12, and had great food, great service. Will not probably ever sit at the bar again, afraid of being served by a very frazzled waiter with the initials of C.B.

Not much to add to the existing reviews. The view is worth the price of entry but don't expect the service or the food to impress. Good place to go for cocktails. Not so great for food, but adequate.

I've been going to the Odyssey Restaurant for years. The food is good and the view of the San Fernando Valley great! Go at dusk or evening to get the full impact of the view.

This could be one of the great restaurants in Southern California, and maybe it was at one time. But now there are painful signs of aging and the total experience leaves one wondering what went wrong. We met some friends there after finding the place on the Internet. We were favored with a window table and the server was friendly and helpful. No complaints on the staff or the food. We had the early bird special at $21.95 a plate. Yet, even in spite of the positives, the overall experience as not, "We definitely must return." Maybe some new owners need to come along and put some renovation money to work. Make it a classy place, the talk of the town. It is living far below its potential. So, reluctantly, I am awarding the Odyssey with a partially vertical thumb. And my left thumb at that.

I recently attended a wedding at the Odyssey this past weekend. The food was satisfactory. The hostesses had horrible demeanors. I myself, am a hostess/waitress. The buspersons are rude and arrogant. When dealing with the management, it hit absolute rock bottom. They did not apologize for the horrible service. They added insult to injury by behaving like third graders and speaking harsh words behind customers backs. I will never return to this establishment ever again. My family's wedding was ruined by the service of this supposedly "fine dining experience." The only good thing I have to say about it was that the entrance way is inviting, minus the gasoline odor.

The food taste was excellent. The menu rates are economical and affordable for every one.The staffs are very polite and obedient.

The view is worth the visit. Drinks were excellent! Service was above average. Food was fine but nothing extraordinary. We were in the bar area. Decor was comfortable with a 70's feel. Couches by the full length windows were the perfect place for a cocktail while watching the sunset. The place is definitely set up more for banquets and weddings.

That’s because you will spend a lot of time staring at those views while you wait during every phase of your old school dining experience. It took over 30 minutes to get the drink order in and we lost track of how long before drinks actually arrived. And 45 minutes to get a bottle of water, which was taken off the bill due to its tardiness. We soon determined that we needed to place our full order at once or risk sitting for hours. Maybe it was due to an event in one of the ballrooms or short holiday staffing as our waitress did it all with no help, but it doesn’t matter as, despite the central location for all in our party, we will not relive the adventure. Service was so slow that it became comical. So how was the food? Unexceptional and certainly average for the money. The asparagus was undercooked and had to be sent back, the potatoes in the clam chowder were undercooked (and that’s hard to send back :). The filet and fries were supposedly good, but no one else finished their meal, which is rare. We had to chase down the dessert which came with one of the fixed prix meals, at which point we asked for the bill. It’s a shame because the location is pretty incredible. It appears they’ve given up on their restaurant, perhaps focusing on their banquet facilities instead. There is valet parking but not sure why as there is a massive parking lot attached.

Went here with our family after the theater. This place has such an awesome view of the valley - and that's what the pricetag is for - I'm assuming. The entrees are not worth $30+ for what you get. They are trying to be upscale and fancy (and I get it - there's not much in this are that is) and but their chef is clearly a wannabe. Paid $39 for a ribeye steak that was decent, but they advertise their own garden so I got a few undercooked mini squash and some french fries. Nothing to rave about. They do a lot of banquets and receptions and I guess that's what they are good at. They used to have an awesome salad bar but have chosen not to continue that. I would suggest, if you want the view, go for cocktails and appetizers on the patio and skip the big pricetag for a meal. Oh, and to top it off, they have a photographer going around taking pictures of your party and give you a cheesy little postcard as a memento and try to sell you bigger pictures for $15 each. The owners need a lesson in classy!

The view is amazing overlooking the 405 and the valley. The food however was overpriced and cold. Probably won't go back again.

The Salad Bar is gone along with the great service. I went there for dinner recently. Not a place I will visit again.

I don't write a lot of reviews but the food at this place was so bad I felt compelled to warn other people. I went there with my son yesterday for his 21st birthday. We ordered the breakfast platter for two for $60. When the platter came out the server was sweating profusely. As he put the platter on the table sweat was dripping from his face into our food. The platter itself consisted of a 6 ounce piece of dried up prime rib. So thin and dry it was the consistency of bacon. One eggs Benedict. It was served with no hollandaise sauce. Just 1 egg and a piece of ham on 1/2 an English muffin. The egg was completely dry and crusted. It also came with waffles which were burnt. 1 waffle cut into four pieces. Two sausages two pieces of bacon. It also came with crab legs which were cold but that may be how they intended to serve them. It was also supposed to come with smashed tater tot's but we did not receive them. I may be crazy but when you order a $60 platter for two you would expect to at least get 2 of everything. The views were nice and the waitress was nice. The food on the other hand was shockingly bad. Without a doubt one of the worst food experiences I have ever had. Hands down!

I take out of town visitors to Odyssey all the time because of three things: ease of access and parking, good food and service, and the spectacular view of the San Fernando Valley. I have taken my friends from Ireland there more than once, and we were all looking forward to a leisurely Tuesday lunch a few weeks ago. First, the facility had a conference booked and there were people everywhere at lunch time. I cannot fault them for this or the crowded parking lot but the entire staff seemed to be focused on the conference rooms rather than the restaurant. I arrived 20 minutes early and was told that the restaurant was not yet ready for individual groups, though people from the conference were being seated in individual groups in the public dining area. I was asked to take a seat and told that they would be ready for my group in a few minutes. Twenty minutes passed, no one returned to the reception desk, and when my friends arrived, we had to chase down someone to seat us. We were again told it would be a few minutes before a table was ready. I am not sure what the problem was...but it may have been the fact that they had no wait staff available to take care of us. Finally after getting a little pushy, we were seated and a waiter came over immediately but it was clear he did not have a good understanding of English, though he seemed to know the menu well. We asked for a bottle of rose, and clarified that we wanted a bottle. He returned with one glass of wine. When we clarified that we wanted a bottle of the rose, he took the glass away and was gone for a long while before returning to tell us that they did not have the wine we had selected by the bottle, only the glass, even though it was listed on the wine menu by the bottle. We chose another wine, and after it arrived and ordering, things went more smoothly, but the wait at the beginning and the misunderstanding about the wine sort of got things off on the wrong foot. I can understand that they need to book their conference rooms during the week; no problem; but they obviously had not brought in enough staff to also accommodate the public restaurant. Also, it would have been better had they said they were waiting for staff to cover the restaurant tables rather than just telling us to wait. A few minutes turned into half an hour, which just isn't acceptable when the restaurant was basically empty. The food was its usual good quality and the menu had a couple of new things that we tried. But not sure I would go to Odyssey again during the day without calling first to find out of they had a conference going or not.

Took some friends there mostly for the view. Horrible service. Anytime we asked for something it was somebody else's job. As for price..there were four of us, we had an appetizer plate ($32), glass of wine (small) $12, dessert ($34). Eclectic menu (chicken and waffles) we did not try that. $140 bill for a couple snacks and wine. Yikes!!

Arrived in town the night before a wedding. They had a prix fixe sunset menu. For $21.95, we had a choice of soup or salad, 4 entrees, and cheesecake. Everything was excellent, the staff was very attentive. View was awesome! Totally enjoyed it!

Got married here in '95 and they treated us very well. Have had their Sunday Brunch on many occasions and can not recall having better anywhere else.

Great overall! Pricey...the chicken dish that we all had (friend @ 10) was over cooked. We could barely cut it with our knives. The chef needs to be replaced.

we went here for a wedding. The food is ok. the view is great...I think this place is great for couple and have them sit you outside. the place where the wedding was held was nice but the divider between room is not too great because we can hear the loud music from the other party. overall it's just ok.

I took my girlfriend here for a romantic dinner, and was told by the hostess, "Since it's a date, I'm going to sit you at my favorite table". The table had an overgrown bush with a pole sticking out the top that completely blocked the view. The food was equally underwhelming. They brought only one piece of bread for the table, even though there were two of us. The crab cake, (because once again, there was only one), gave us indigestion and the waitress forgot that while we were splitting the meat for the prime rib, we had ordered separate sides. Will not be returning.

Awesome views. Too bad the food was served cold. The baked potato wasn't even done and butter didn't even melt. Would have sent it back but had to wait along time to get the dinner.

This was our first time to the Odyssey the location had views of the valley, while the staff work hard and were very efficient, and responsive to all the wedding guests.

The Odyssey sits atop a hill overlooking the north San Fernando Valley . . A sparkling view at night. Equally sparkling is their food . . Great steaks, lamb, and fish. The flavors are mouth watering. Service is excellent as well. Chech out their sumptuous Sunday buffet . . Lots of variety. Prices are higher, but worth it.

I have been going to the Odyssey for more than 45 years. My grandfather would take us there for Sunday brunch when we were in Los Angeles. I have been there countless times and have always enjoyed it. I introduced it to my wife about 10 years ago and she loves the place. Every time we are in Los Angeles she suggests that we dine there. It is set high up on a hill with a wonderful view of the San Fernando valley. Good sea food and good meat. Stop in the bar beforehand and have a great cocktail and a wonderful view. I recommend it. I believe you will enjoy it. Also, plenty of parking which is an added benefit.

I had never been here before until today. I met a few friends and we had a really nice brunch with a nice view of the San Fernando Valley. Lots of choices - typical breakfast items plus sushi, fajita bar, pasta bar, omelette bar, carved meats, salad, etc. We all really enjoyed the freshly made tortillas. The desserts were great too. All the employees were very nice. What particularly stood out to me was the selection for kids - they had their own separate section with juice boxes, cereal boxes, chips, chicken strips, etc. which is really want my kids would want to eat. I've been to a few other buffets lately that charged an arm and a leg for a kid and then my picky eater didn't find much he was interested in anyway. This is a great place for Brunch or celebrating a special occasion.

My husband arrived without a reservation and we were told that only bar seating was available which was fine for us. We had to hunt down a server which was horrible considering it’s such a pricy restaurant. Once we finally received our $50 steaks, I found that my steak was not cooked correctly. I ended up sending it back twice because they couldn’t do as was ordered. In the meantime, my husband is already done eating and I had to eat alone. While eating alone, the downstairs event was playing their music so loud, my chair was vibrating which was ridiculous! I complained and was pretty much to “suck it up” because it was a private event. Manager came over and offered to bring me salmon and a dessert except the dessert never came and we had to pay for the lousy steak! We will never return!

Taken here by relatives & met up with some friends there. Nice location, fabulous views, big place lots of sub rooms and annexes. This was mid week so pretty quiet. Ambience inside is dark, decor could be better. We were seated miles away from the main area which was a bit strange. Drinks service was OK. Menu looks good not too many items which is good. Had a calamari as starter which was OK, could have been bigger pieces of calamari & less batter. Yet another restaurant where I clearly order a SIDE SALAD as a side to my main but it came as starter, listening seems to be a problem in US restaurants. I decided on the cowboy steak, medium rare. Food took an age to arrive & had to be chased up, my steak was tasty by could have been hotter & most importantly was medium borderline well done. Picture attached. I expect a US restaurant to be able to do a decent steak! A few had desserts which looked tasty. We had to chase for a bill in the end & then run around to find our server to pay it! Bill was reasonable for 10 of us, shame service was so slow.

Nice view of the valley plus excellent food and service, I would recommend the Prime Rib and with a glass of red wine and your all set to go.

The greeter was just lovely and was able to accommodate our request to sit outside on the patio for our first time visiting. Our server, however, was very pushy for us to order. We didn't have time to go over the menu in length with comments "do you want to order before the party of 15 arrives"? we asked for a minute, we literally just sat down. He comes back "do you know what you want"? Feeling rushed, we just ordered something we thought would be sufficient. We ordered a bottle of champagne which came with mixers of cranberry juice and orange juices to make mimosas. These mixers came in miniature carafes and for four guests this was not sufficient to not have a refill. Our server was non existent after our order, we had to ask a bus boy for refills of the carafes, we had to ask for utensils. We initially asked for two checks, One person on one check, three people on another, that couldn't be done, so we had to pay on one check. The views were really nice, and the weather wasn't too hot to enjoy it, they had umbrellas up to shade you which was also nice. French Toast was $14 with no sides, therefore eggs and any other sides are extra. I feel if our server was more concerned with our group of four as he was with his group of fifteen it would have been a better experience for us.

We chose this restaurant because of the location and view. It's been around for a long time and some of us had been there decades ago for weekend brunch. It was not a busy night, we were seated quickly and the server let us set our own pace. The bread is served with pesto that was very good. The seafood and steaks were also very good but the side dishes and appetizers were nothing to write home about and overpriced for what we got. The French Onion Soup was ruined by someone putting Parmesan Cheese on top of the melted cheese, salad dressing was sour, not tangy; the cheesecake tasted like it came out of a box mix, the caramel flan was quite nice. Would go there again because of the view and ambiance but the restaurant decor could use some updating (one of our chairs broke in the middle of dinner), and would not order anything but a steak or fish main course. The lump crab pasta was overcooked and mushy. They serve bar food in the bar and on the patio, and that might be better value.

This restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. It is located on the hillside overlooking the San Fernando Valley. Nice views. The Sunday brunch was less than stellar. Very expensive. Not worth the money. There were so many people and the food trays and dishes were almost empty every trip I made to try to find something I was interested in. The brunch is sprawled all over the restaurant and it was very awkward maneuvering around to get a plate of food. We will not return to this restaurant.

I planned a romantic meal with my wife, I thought the location would be wonderful and I hoped the food would be good too. Well I am pleased to say we were not disappointed. As we entered we noticed a warm welcoming fire and we were greeted nicely by a hostess. Being a bit early for our reservation we opted to go and have a pre-dinner drink while it was happy hour. After relaxing a little and taking in the views of the sun setting across the SF Valley we were ready for dinner. We were sat by the window where we continued to enjoy the view. Our server Zack was attentive and at no point did he rush us. While we made our choices from the menu warm french bread arrived at the table with a tasty pesto/herb spread. We both opted for a salad to start which was fresh and lightly dressed. We then also both choose the plank salmon which tasted great. The final course is a cheesecake which is very light and I managed to eat it but my wife was full by now and opted to take it home. The sunset menu is a great deal for $26. This restaurant has plenty of space and has lots of seating outside with a fire pit where you can just sit and drink. We had an enjoyable evening and will be back for sure.

Had a fabulous anniversary dinner last night. We were married here 3 years ago and since we were celebrating in the country this year decided to do it here. We were so happy to be back for a beautiful, romantic dinner. We were seated by a window and had a fabulous view. We had warm bread, butter and a pastor sauce to enjoy with our prosecco while waiting for our entrees. I had the lobster fettuccine which was amazing, and my husband had the prime rib which filled him up more than he expected! Nancy, our server was fabulous, attentive and fun! At the end of our meal she brought out a beautiful anniversary dessert which we gladly found room for! We had a fabulous time and enjoyed remembering what a beautiful wedding we had three years prior. ❤️

I've been here a few times over my So Cal lifetime and this latest time was the worst that I can recall. Having said that, it's a lovely place (and I will return) if you're ok paying inflated prices more for location and ambiance rather than service of culinary delights. Without listing all the low-lights, I have a strong feeling that a server can make or break a restaurant, and on my last visit, let's say she seemed a bit off. When my lady's steak finally arrived, it was overdone. So I ate my dry chicken while she waited. Once we got it, it was nothing special. The best thing on both of our plates were the potato dishes. Not the meat, and not the veggies. The manager was very helpful and understanding. End result: Complimentary desert & cappuccino, and $10 off our (2) $40 entrees. After a less than impeccable experience at a high end Disney restaurant at least one entree would likely have been included to make the whole experience leave a better taste in my mouth. I'll go back, but I won't be in a hurry, and I will enjoy the view...

Met some friends for dinner, after hearing much hype about the restaurant. The servers were polite, but awfully slow. It took at least 30 minutes for drinks to arrive, then another 30 minutes to take the food order. Another 30 minutes for the food to be served. All in all, three hours from start to finish. Now, it’s nice not to be rushed, but we sat twiddling our thumbs looking for servers to flag down, and there just weren’t any to be seen. As far as food quality, that too left a lot to be desired. My red wine was served in a white wine glass, which might sound snobbish, but when you’re paying $15 a glass, I want to be able swirl it, and smell it while I sip it. I ordered the lobster fettuccine, which was pretty awful. The lobster was dried out, and the sauce was uninspired. I had the flourless chocolate cake for desert, which was okay, but I doubt it’s made fresh at the restaurant. Conclusion: great view, but won’t go back.

I have lived in California all my life, I love the odyssey restaurant and will always go for the great food, great atmosphere, great service and awesome views. The Happy hour is awesome too! A must go to restaurant.

My hubby takes me here for my birthday every year. The food is a bit pricey but definitely Worth it! Actually we also got married here and it is a great venue. However the food for our wedding was not as top notch as when you go to eat regularly. I would totally recommend this restaurant for a special occasion!

Had dinner at the Odyssey Restaurant in Granada Hills, CA and was shocked to find such a romantic spot just off the freeway in Granada Hills, Ca. I think every table has a window view, but we did have a window table and the view was beautiful with all the lights spread out below us. There is also a patio, but it wash['t open that night. It really rates high for atmosphere. The staff was also very polite and just attentive enough, but not over-the-top. I had salmon and it was good. I'd say the food, based on the four dinners ordered by our party, is good, but not amazing. This place does a huge banquet business, so you come here for the view, atmosphere and good food but not amazing food.

Odyssey located at a hill overlooking Northridge/LA with a marvelous view. We were impressed by its beautiful setting and charming design, indoor and outdoor. We five came here for a special occasion/gathering and enjoyed a wonderful dinner there. These were what we had ordered: Fettuccine Lobster ($36, delicious), Seafood Risotto ($35, too salty), Short Ribs (yummy, $32), Odyssey Burger (juicy, $18), New England clam chowder (tasty, $9), Calamari (crispy, $16) and Ridge Three Valleys Zinfandel, Sonoma 2014 ($64). We spent a joyful night at Odyssey.

We sent to dinner with some friends from out of state. It was mid week about 7 pm. They had indoor or patio choice of seating with an unobstructedview of the San Fernando Valley. The view during the day is nice, but at night, the lights are magical. The food was tasty and the service was pleasant and attentive. I have been there for banquets which has good beef and veggi plates. They also have a chicken plate, but I've never ordered that. The food is good no matter what time you go.

Poor service but excellent food. Had to wait About an hour for our food. Waiter was very nice to us.

If I could give this restaurant a negative score - I would. I am never going back. We called for reservations a week before we arrived... even with a reservation it took them close to an hour to seat us. No cocktail comps or anything. Once we got to the table --- more waiting. The waiter or buss boy never filled our water glasses or bread basket the entire evening nor did they care. No seasoning on the food. Salads just so so. Desserts could have been bought at Costco. 1,000 screaming kids everywhere!! If you want a romantic evening this is not the place!! Management just acts like they are important walking around but they do absolutely nothing. With hundreds of other restaurants in the LA area to go to... I highly suggest any future diners to seek a better dinning experience. This was a disastrous expensive frustrating evening.
Great view, okay food
My husband and I visited Odyssey for the first time during DineLA restaurant week to try out their special menu. I was lured by the views I saw online, which ended up being lovely and everything I'd hoped for. The food, unfortunately, was just okay. I so wanted to love it since the staff was nice, there was easily available parking and because of the great view--all rarities in LA--but we just weren't very impressed. I was glad we did the DineLA special, as the prices were lower than what we'd usually pay, so weren't too put out. That being said, we'll still go back a few more times to take in the view and see if we might better enjoy some other items from the menu. Here's hoping!
