After a long day out in Chicago we decided to wind down the evening at the Offshore Rooftop. The views from the restaurant are fantastic, we love the Navy Pier area. Food-wise our favourite items were the Offshore prime burger, smoked chicken wings and the shortcake sundae. The burger particular was the stand out to me and was an instant favourite. Our server was very kind, attentive and efficient with all of our requests. We have travelled to Napa Valley and Bordeaux this year so it was very nice talking with the manager Rohit who also recommended us some incredible wine. He made our experience at the restaurant fantastic, look forward to going back and trying more of the menu next time we're back in Chicago.

Amazing time, Josh was a great bartender! Drinks were perfect and may we suggest the S’mores old fashioned?!? But if old fashions aren’t your style, try the apple cider sidecar!

Per reviews, evidently a lot of people have had problems. We encountered none. We were there in the middle of the week so I didn't expect a crowd. It was a beautiful day (sunny) but most people were eating inside because of the dragonflies. We choose the outside. I've also known from experience that restaurants with all glass can get pretty hot. Also, it's very open under the glass, so yes, I would think noisy. We had an outside table facing east. Not too many people around. The restaurant was a bit hard to find but we knew where it had to be so kept walking. Yes, they could use better signage. We had drinks, I felt like the wine pour was stingy for the price. We ordered a hamburger and a pizza. Both were just fine. My complaint was the amount of fries that were on the plate - took up more than half of the plate. The server said he never takes a plate back that doesn't have fries left on it. I felt like there was once another item on the plate but they took it off due to supply issues or cost and just put more fries on. The view is great, that's what you pay for. The restrooms were a bit hard to find. I found the reception desk to be a bit weird. They did ask us if we really wanted to be outside because a lot of people had said they did but then changed to inside because of the dragonflies. You could tell by their tone of voice that just irritated them. We didn't have any problem with the dragonflies flying around our heads, maybe that was only earlier in the day. I'd go back again if it wasn't too crowded.

Really enjoyed the Offshore Rooftop and Bar at Navy Pier, very spacious for social distancing. The staff was more then accommodating. The food and the drinks was nothing special but it was good. Perfect during the week get out.

Amazing place, worth a sunset visit or generally on a beautiful day. Great views all round. Staff are very friendly, although you could tell that some are new to bar/service work. I’m sure over time that will improve. With some attention to detail this place will be a hit. For example, New tables with stains already. Simple beer mats should do the trick, or more frequent cleaning. Better signage to the main entrance (perhaps there was but we missed it). (Some additions to the bar - Elderflower Sirup for cocktails, perhaps it’s not common in the states but this bar has none. Not marking the venue down for this one but just a suggestion) A smoking area (some will disagree), given the pier is a smoke free zone, however with larger groups that contain smokers, for sure they won’t hang around too long, perhaps some special planning permission is required. All in all, definitely worth a visit.

Sat inside on an 81° day and it felt like we were in an oven. There is very little air movement inside. Food was good as we had the burger and mojito.....WAY TOO HOT! Skip this place unless you can reserve outside

The view of Lake Michigan was amazing, but the service was so slow and it took forever to get our bill. The fish that we ordered had gone bad and the chicken was awful. Those that ordered pizza were satisfied with their meals. This might be a good place for a drink and to take in the view, but I wouldn’t eat there again. Would only give the place two stars if not for the view.

There are 34 restaurants on Navy Pier in Chicago. That's right, 34. One for every sight-seeing boat. And the most sweeping views of Lake Michigan and the lakefront belong to Offshore Rooftop. Located at 900 East Grand Avenue, this is a sleep rooftop site for chef-driven California cuisine with a view to match. It's North American cuisine with a twist. Offshore Rooftop is situated at the east end of Navy Pier, at Entrance 2 of Festival Hall on the third floor. Open from 11 to 10 Sunday through Thursday and 11 to 11 on Friday and Saturday, it offers a relaxing atmosphere and a menu filled with comfort food. On this deck, you are never in a hurry. My wife and I started with shrimp cocktail, smoked chicken wings with BBQ sauce, house-made Buffalo sauce and house-made ranch dressing and Caesar salad with Serrano parmesan dressing, anchovy and garlic crunch. For her entree, my wife chose fish and chips with beer battered pike, tartar sauce, Louisiana hot sauce, Texas toast and fries. I couldn't resist the Offshore prime burger with 24-ounces of beef patties in a sesame bun stuffed with American cheese, bacon, garlic mayo, house pickle and grilled onion with fries. For dessert, we shared a slice of Eli's cheesecake with fresh berries and an Offshore brownie, a baked brownie skillet with vanilla ice cream and caramel anglaise.

Offshore sits high up on the end of Navy Pier. Very chic and stylish yet really comfortable. Super drinks and stunning views. I was travelling on business, but thought kit would be a great place to take friends

Tried to walk in to go and have a drink and was aggressively stopped by a very large man at the desk asking us if we had reservations. He said he were just here to grab a drink he looked us up and down told us we had to register, so we waited, only to be told that we can’t sit outside we can sit at the inside if we want we were effing profiled. Don’t waste your time plenty of other better establishments on the pier besides this dump!!

Firstly, let me say if you want nice views, this is your place BUT the drinks are WAY over priced. Ordered 2 margueritas and left with a $58 bill (which included a tip). There is NO way one marguerita is worth $25-27 dollars. Skip this, tourist trap.

This place is with amazing view but the Covid situation dampened the place amazing decor and outdoor activities...but still we enjoy the view and good food.

Worth the wait ,great relaxing atmosphere , Bag check was nice.Drinks were well made. Can’t beat the view.

I had the burger fries and a Bloody Mary the food was cooked perfectly and the drink had just the right amount of spice.I went to Navy Pier to look around and was surprised by this restaurant

Went here for my birthday with friends and had a memorable experience! Their attention to detail and warm hospitality made a lasting impression. The views of the city from this rarge rooftob were incredible and the food + drinks matched. Would reccommend!

We loved the view of the city skyline and the sunset from the patio! The deviled eggs and burger were delicious!!

We were there for a bachelorette brunch, I believe it was off season because surprisingly it was not very crowded. The food was great, the views were rewarding! Our server was very accommodating and helpful. Only downside, they do not serve coffee for brunch! I usually go to Offshore for the views and bottomless mimosas so this was surprising for me! Regardless- Offshore is great for brunch with friends, family, colleagues, with or without mimosas! The ambience is rejuvenating ! The reservations are hard to obtain, so make sure you plan ahead! Overall— thank you to everyone who attended us! We loved it!

Fun environment. Much quieter outside. Great views. Good drinks. Wings were really fantastic. Bar needs way more servers, esp. on a Saturday night. Jasmine was great though. She worked her tail off. We arrived kind of early so it was easy to get in and out. However, later on there was a long line to get in.

Had a reservation for 6 at 6:45pm on Sunday, 9/6. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated promptly outside. We were greeted quickly with water, although only 5 cups arrived and drinks came in a decent time. However, we ordered 2 appetizers, not 5. When the waitress came to take our food order, we asked about the appetizers and her response "oh you didn't get them yet" - I almost said "well, do you see empty plates on the table?" Drinks came slow and the main meal came close to the appetizers. The food was excellent though - 4 of us ordered the Beef of Filet and it was delicious as was the appetizers. I spent $430 + tip and expected better service.

We started by being seated at a beautiful rooftop table over looking the Chicago skyline. On the table were 2 plates and no napkins/cutlery, important information for later. Our server took our order, which we asked for 12 oysters to Start, then our entrees. After 45 minutes the food runner staff dropped off the oysters along with our entrees. Still no napkins in sight after 5 minutes I went into the restaurant and took the napkin roll off the table. When our server finally checked in I update her on everything arriving at once, she said the kitchen was backed up…the restaurant was 1/2 full….here is a tip to Offshore Restaurant….raw oysters do not need to be cooked but shucked and should only take 20 minutes to be on the table. The food…eggs Benny was awesome, oysters okay and burger well a burger. And the cherry on this terrible experience was with only 2 people….Offshore restaurant includes an 18% tip on your meal. Shameful!! Chicago has so many excellent choices but Offshore Restaurant isn’t one of them!!

We walked 3 miles in damp, cold, cloudy weather to check out the Navy Pier after it reopened. Not much was open but we did find the restaurant. The sun came out and we got a great table with a beautiful view. Well worth the long, cold walk! Derrick was an excellent waiter. We look forward to another meal there when we return to Chicago!

Interesting place that is kinda of hard to find. Rooftop restaurant that is often closed due to events. Went to sit at bar and have drinks. Great views and a fun place to socialize. They were making some fancy drinks and secice was great

Aweful! If it is a warm sunny day, stay away! Stupid hot inside. Their AC can't keep up. Manager blames greenhouse effect. They've been open over a year and they can't figure it out hot to keep it cool. Management seems clueless and apathetic. Food was not too good either. Great view though! I won't be back.

Save your money. At places like this you come for the experience not the food, and the customer service is horrible. I got up and left after a rude encounter with the managing director’ Brittney Munro. I manage several restaurants and have taken several classes to assure the quality of customer service is respectful with the intent to satisfy all customers. Her approach to managing a situation was rude, aggressive, and unprofessional. As a manager they should have customer relation training to assure the service matches the amount of money a customer is spending.

Great views of the lake. Happy hour half price wine by the glass. Small bites were great. Very friendly staff. Great for sunsets!

Great views to watch the sunset. . The service was a little slow but they were changing shifts and we were just chilling after a day of surfing 🏄♂️.The flatbread pizza was incredible and would strongly recommend.

Very cute spot during the day for drinks and food. Great views of the lake and the skyline. Smaller food menu but it all looked good.

The view was great, and the food Ok. However there is a glassed in roof and no shade. It was unbearably hot on a sunny 80 degree day. Completely ruined the exerience!

We had dinner at Offshore our last night in the city and were super impressed. The views were fantastic and the food was delicious. It would have been a perfect five stars but two of the beers on the menu we tried to order were both out. Service was a little slow but our server was very apologetic and friendly. The pizza was very tasty and light. The avocado hummus was a star dish. We will for sure revisit on our next time in the city.

The fact that the server wasn't sure if the bartender could make a Manhattan was the first clue that Offshore Rooftop wasn't exactly a paragon of dining excellence. They proved their ineptitude beyond a doubt when they forgot an entree. My entree. That was bad enough, but then they took so long to bring the missing entree that the rest of my family was finishing their meals by the time mine arrived. The server actually set down my entree and asked the rest of my family if they needed boxes for leftovers. Not just awkward, but rude. Ruined what had been a celebratory occasion. No view is good enough to tolerate such a lack of professionalism.

Sadly, this is the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Not one to go the internet and write bad reviews, but it feels needed. Cautionary tale, particularly to those planning events there. Ours was NYE.

I went here on a busy Wednesday and had a nice time. We ordered lots of drinks and appetizers which were all fine (though they were out of some of the beers listed on the menu). We then decided to get the $85 tomahawk steak and when it came out it was SIGNIFICANTLY smaller piece of meat then what should be the size of a tomahawk steak and it was sliced up, off the bone. Highly disappointed we talked to a manager who did nothing except say he would remove the steak from our table if we wanted. Later our awesome waitress Kayla W talked to the chef who agreed with us and comped the steak which was obviously appreciated. I doubt I’ll go back as there are so many better places in Chicago but its ok to visit once

The Offshore Rooftop bar/restaurant is a great place to visit while you are in Chicago. The views of the lake and city are spectacular. The bar is huge, beautiful and has a large variety of seating choices. The also have a great patio area with fire pits for a chilly day or evening. The food was very good. We had appetizers. Yum! There was a DJ playing and the place was very lively.

Gorgeous views from this bar. We stopped on a clear morning and the lake was calm. Drinks are a little pricey so you are paying for the view. Perhaps that is so people don’t linger and you can cycle more people through for the view. Either way we didn’t want to stay long with so much more to see and do. We did not eat but food that came out looked delicious and was nicely plated. would recommend.

Before we visited Chicago, I looked online for an interesting place to have a Dinner & Drink "Experience". We took our Adult Kids and their spouses. Offshore looked and sounded like a nice place with a view! It was walking distance from our Hotel (Embassy Suites) so that was nice too. By looking over the menu I expected a fancier fare that it was. The family style serving was kind of a nice surprise, but unfortunately the timing of the food service and the food itself left much to be desired. I would recommend getting there at dusk to see the sights before it gets too dark and also enjoy the night skyline. The space, decor and views were awesome! Our overall experience was decent...though it was a confusing VIBE....Nightclub? Classy Restaurant? Local Hangout? Tourist Destination? Hope to visit again when these things are fine-turned!

Location is very nice with awesome views of the lake and the Chicago skyline. The place is built in an atria style so there's a lot of light all around: bright and airy. The food is decent, not amazing, but the location makes up for it. Service is a bit weird: we had reservations but they couldn't find us in their records, took 20 minutes to seat us after some intense conversations going on in the background. Note: the place was dead and empty cause it was mid-week, shouldn't have taken them that long to seat us. Aside from that, it's worth bringing visitors to Chicago to enjoy the view.

This bar/restaurant was absolutely beautiful! Very classy. Such a great decor. Lots of helpful staff. Great drinks and great apps. The views are great as well. Definitely recommend this place

We book a table for our wedding anniversary, and happened to turn up a little earlier. The place was half empty, however we were rudely informed that we were should return later. Upon request, the front of house manager begrudgingly pointed at two seats at the bar, without further explanation for anything approaching a welcome. We had a drink, booked somewhere else and left. Drinks and bar staff were perfectly nice though.

We almost missed this place thinking we’d seen the pier scene, but decided to walk to the very end and glad we did. When you get there go inside and walk upstairs to offshore. It’s worth the extra steps if you want more than the fast food below. The food is a small step above other pier options but the view and the atmosphere are worth it.

The Offshore Rooftop was advertised on Chicago's website as a particularly suitable location for the annual Air Show. We were able to reserve the last free table online - but only at 11:00 a.m., no later was possible. We got there at 11:00 a.m. sharp and found ourselves facing a closed wait-to-be-seated counter, around which around 20 people were already waiting. When we asked several times to employees rushing past, we were always told "right away". At 11:15 a.m. the first reservations were called and we were finally allowed to enter the bar at 11:20 a.m. An unsatisfactory process! Especially because all the tables inside were free. When we got inside, the next disappointment: the bar is under a closed roof, the open air conditioning units were no match for the heat - it was a lovely summer day - but tables on the terrace were not really planned and there was no shade either. Finally, drinks/food: The - admittedly really friendly - waitress took the drinks and confirmed, after asking beforehand, that the orange juice was freshly squeezed. When this turned out to be obviously wrong after arrival, the explanation was that it was indeed from a carton, but had been freshly squeezed at some point before. The coffee selection was limited to filter coffee (we only serve black coffee) - hot or cold. We were then unable to try the food because after placing the order, it turned out that only a reduced menu was being offered for the air show (which, by the way, we hardly saw), which no longer covered our choice and practically no longer offered a vegetarian option. We then left. Thanks for nothing.

I wasn’t expecting the food to be special, and it wasn’t. I went to enjoy “the best rooftop view in Chicago”. You have to sit outside in order to get a less than panoramic view of the Windy City which, even in September, meant sitting in sweltering heat. Go there for a drink and take it outside. I would not recommend going there for a meal.

There were 5 of us that visited on a Tuesday night after work. This new bar/restaurant is a beautiful spot with unbelievable views. We had a couple of drinks at the bar and then sat at a table to eat. The drinks were good and the bartenders were very pleasant. We order small plates of cerviche, brussel sprouts, clam strips, steak tartare, lamb meatballs and lobster deviled eggs. Everything was delicious and was the perfect amount of food. We had the dark chocolate fondue for dessert and it too was truly decadent. Our server was excellent and I thought the prices were reasonable.

Food was just terrible, no coffee on the menu, the meat on the pizza was really bad, Benedict eggs had no hollandaise sauce just some kind of oil, the eggs were overcooked , burger meat was overcooked too. Along the entrance there were at least 5 signs that said the place was closed.

Our reservation came with a $10 pp fee to reserve. I was willing to check it out considering I thought I would find parking on site. It didn’t work out that way but we were ok w the long walk to get there, staff was very friendly on a “not so busy times” but service was a bit slow. I loved the dish I ordered (Salmon Poke) but my fiend got the pizza which was pretty average & not worth taking home. However the view from this restaurant must be great facing south & unfortunately we were seated on the other side . If you can get a table on the right side I can see how it would all be dismissed. I would go back knowing what I know, at slow times and ask to be outside facing south for the city view. We had dinner and walked up to the other side where the view was for photos but during busy times it may be tough. Hope my review helps

The thing that excites me most about the Offshore Rooftop experience is how spacious, airy and lively it is (swell decor too)! I like the fact that you're welcome to seat yourself. I've visited the venue twice and have not had an issue finding a quality seat (all seats provide a lovely view). I visit during the weekday evenings! Drinks are custom and reasonably priced! The venue opened a few months ago; therefore, they're still working on the customer service part. Unfortunately, it isn't uncommon to wait nearly half an hour to be officially welcomed and served (yikes). However, once you finally are, things are relatively smooth! The truth is that the place is so lovely the slow service almost doesn't matter (But it does). Make this right Offshore!!

Maybe it was just the night that we went. But the experience was less than enjoyable. We had reservations for 7:30 and were seated about 40 minutes afterwards, we were told that people were seated as they arrived, basically having a reservation didn't mean much. After being seated we waiting another 20 minutes to be acknowledged by our server, which by that point we were so tired of waiting that we had decided not to order anything extra such as apps or drinks. In addition to the long wait times, the seating/ table situation was more of a lounge set up with a low table at knee height. Trying to have a dinner sitting uncomfortably and leaning low to the table to try to eat didn't make it any better. I'm only giving this a 2 star rating because of the beautiful views of city.

Place is gorgeous if you are lucky enough to go on a sunny day. Good banter from the bartenders however management team seems to be bored to be here. On our way out 4 of them were at the host desks bantering together and couldn’t be bother to say thanks or good bye. Working also in hospitality it’s a really poor behavior that the company should look at!

Lovely vibe with great views! Food surprisingly was good . Liked the cocktail menu . Prices are reasonable !!

Great service. They had a variety of unique cocktail. The smores old fashion hit the spot. Ask for Josh. He’ll hook you up.

Friends and family gathered at Offshore during Thanksgiving week. This was the perfect spot to celebrate the holiday season. Lighted Christmas Thees surrounded the enclosed space. Background music and the beautiful Chicago skyline made the setting perfect. The servers were very attentive and the drinks and food were delicious. A magical evening in Chicago!

Emmett (I hope I got it right this time) was awesome and amazing! I was prepared to order a cocktail off the menu when he offered to make my friend and I personalized drinks based on our likes. He knocked it out the park! Emmett was very friendly and even gave us a proper Chicago welcome, a sip of Jeppson's Malört. I would definitely make this my regular spot if I lived in the area. The view and the service was spectacular. Although it was a bit of a walk from the main entrance of Navy Pier.

This restaurant was very difficult to find. Tiny signs, into the back hallways. The areas were dirty and needed a good vacuum. The front desk people.were nice. But the people around were extremely loud. The music was so loud. It seems like they are trying to appeal to a younger crowd, however everyone that was there was mid thirties and above. The view was.nice however with the low seating you couldn't see anything. The adult drinks were good. We had a spicy tequila drink. I think it was called fiery red? I would recommend if you like spice. The food was not good. My son got a pizza. I'm a big guy and will eat almost anything, however this was pretty gross. I got the portabello sliders. It was bread with a mushroom in it, nothing special at all. My wife got the salmon, it tasked ok. However it was really plain. It could have way more depth, like crusting it with pistachio or something unique. We got the hummus platter. This was ok. The hummus tasted.like egg to me. The olive tapenade was plain, and the goat cheese was very simple. All and all out bill was nearly $200.00 I would not go back here for the food, however I would for the drinks and a snack.

We had high hopes for Offshore and we they were met and exceeded . The space, indoors and out, is beautiful - well and attractively laid out, decorated and comfortable. The views are of course outstanding, but they were matched by the service. Everyone - from the hostess to the busboy to our waiter -- provided excellent and welcoming service. Kudos as well to Jesus, the manager - the overall quality of Offshore is no doubt a reflection of his efforts as well as those of the rest of the staff. With respect to the food and drink, both were excellent, although we stopped with one dish, after intending to order more, because the portion size was very generous. All in all, we had a great experience, and will not hesitate to return to Offshore.

Beautiful rooftop bar at an amazing location. Would be perfect after a long walk at the Lakeshore, but no-one attended out table for 35 minutes to take our order. The place was practically empty at 20.00 on Thursday evening. Music was too loud too (like being in a club). Beer and food was nice but the experience was ruined.

Dimitri was amazing. He helped us to our seats. Showed us a great view and made our experience even better. 11/10. 100% reccomend!

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere to grab a drink while at the Navy Pier. I was so thrilled that we did! First off, it's GORGEOUS. Everything about it- the décor, the comfortable seating (indoor and outdoor) and of course the views. We only got drinks, but now I wish we would have ordered food too. This is a new place but mark my words- it will definitely become a "must-do" when visiting Chicago. I would recommend it 100% to anyone visiting the area and I will definitely be returning!

Visited here one night during our anniversary celebration stay at the Sable. Can't say much about the food as we did not eat here, just had a night cap. Overall we enjoyed the view and the firepit they had outside. Good place for a date especially beacuse of the views.

I met with a couple of friends and enjoyed drinks and appetizers while taking in the beautiful views of downtown Chicago.

So let’s be honest you are not going to come here for the best food or cheapest drinks in the city. The views are AMAZING. I have lived in Chicago for 30 years and the atmosphere and views here are among my top 5. They have a small menu that is on the expensive side, beer pricing is not too bad $6, wines start at $10 and go up. Stop for a drink and enjoy the view. Access to the deck is from inside Navy Pier just south of the beer garden.

We decided to go to the Offshore Rooftop Restaurant for my Auntie's Birthday, and it did not disappoint! Seven of us were there in a gorgeous setting and you could see the clear sparkling blue waters of Lake Michigan all around us! We each ordered a variety of cocktails, appetizers, chips, flatbread, soup, sides of veggies, steak, salmon, and we sang Happy Birthday to my Auntie with of course, cheesecake! Everything was tasty and delicious! We couldn't have asked for a better meal! Brittany, our server was as nice as nice could be! She was so attentive to us and made certain that our evening was special! She went way beyond, and we felt as though we were the only group in the restaurant! Everything was just perfect, thanks to Brittany! WE WILL BE BACK! Thank you so much Offshore for making this a very special day for my Auntie' s B-day and for all of us! Lenore....PS....We all went on the Ferris wheel afterwards...ha ha ha....Now what could be better???!!!!

This place was a bit hard to find - at the end of the the Navy Pier but the elevator to access the building was not marked from the outside so we kept walking from building to building. The service was very slow. We ordered nachos, sushi and a burger and it seemed like eternity before the food came out. I didn't think it would take so long. Even ordered a second cocktail and the server took a long time to come back with that as well. Nice view, nice outdoor seating, excellent unique high end cocktails. Food was good but more of a place for drinks and appetizers than dinner. Check the menu before you go. The indoor area is very loud between the people talking and the loud music it is like a dining hall or cafeteria style dining. There are some quieter smaller outdoor areas in the back with now view. The other outdoor areas have a nice view of the city and the water.

We had a reservation at 11 when they open and when we arrived there were multiple signs up saying the restaurant was closed for a private event. At 5 after we went around the signs and made it to the hostess stand. There was a restaurant employee there who told us to wait but didn’t provide any other information. We explained that there were signs downstairs saying the restaurant was closed and he just nodded. He was very rude. Eventually the hostess checked us in and even though the restaurant was empty and just opened there was an additional wait. At 11:20 we left without being seated because they were so slow we didn’t trust how long service would take.

We were looking forward to dining at this restaurant. To our surprise, it was closed. The website did not give any indication of this change. There were several people that came after us and were disappointed. This is no way to run an establishment!

Before I write this review please remember this is at the end of Navy Pier, it is over priced but you should know that if your on the pier. The food here was really good and the drinks were on point. Everything had lots of flavor and nothing was too overpowering. For a summer day this was a great brunch location and an nice break from all the kids and noise on the main floor.

Let me start off by sharing honestly I have never left a negative review in my life – however, words cannot describe how TERRIBLE of an experience we had at Offshore. I booked this for my friend’s celebratory dinner. I can sum it all up to this: Offshore has great views of the city, so the entire staff believe and emulate that THEY ARE BETTER THAN YOU, your family, and everyone else. They are a disgrace to the city of Chicago and simply do not belong. To be allowed in, you have to go get through a rude bouncer. Once in, we had to wait to be seated for 30min, despite having made a reservation weeks in advance. we were given a table inside that was of poor design for our size. When asked if we could use one of the open tables outside, the host said it’s an extra $75.00/person. We tried to make the best of it and each ordered a cocktail. We had to ask where they were for 25min. Our app came out before drinks, let alone any water or silverware. I have NEVER felt the need to do this, but I asked to speak with the Manager. He did not acknowledge my concerns AT ALL and instead said ‘well, we’re very busy, it is what it is.’ When our waiter took our food orders, he forgot to take one. We had to hunt down a hostess to deliver the message. We stood up to see the fireworks and the Manager put his arm in front of me and said ‘you can’t come outside. You’re sitting inside.’ This manager RETALIATED AGAINST ME for ASKING FOR HELP. Mind you, he NEVER checked in with us after my initial concerns. As a cherry on top, when we just wanted to go home, we had to beg/hunt to pay. And retell our orders to the waiter. In sum, OFFSHORE IS A SCAM AND THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. McDonalds would be a better choice.

Waited for bar to open in the lounge seating area outside the restaurant. Prior to arriving I had picked up a small bag of Garrett's popcorn and had a couple of bites while waiting. The hostess came out and said they had a strict policy of no outside food and beverage. I put it away. No big deal. Was just passing time for the bar to open. As we walked in the hostess told me she needed to coat check the bag of popcorn. Really? I had no intention of eating it in the restaurant. It just seemed ridiculous that having it in my possession was an issue. My friend and I decided to go to another bar. Its obvious that guest service is not a strong point of this restaurant.

Josh was awesome, great guy. Great drinks the smores old fashion will knock you socks off. Food looks amazing. Sushi was soo good.

We waited to be seated for a little bit, but then waited a long time for a server. We went to leave, and the manager welcomed us back in, found us a great spot immediately, and brought us drinks and served us himself. Great management. Great service!

This place is absolutely beautiful anytime of the year that sun through the glass makes that warmth feels so good I recommend 100000 percent .., drinks are great and enjoyable and the food exquisite it’s family friendly

We went on a Sunday, which may have been more crowded than usual. Sat at the bar for over 15 minutes and no one ever took our order. There were several barbacks milling around, but apparently only one bartender for everyone seated at the bar. The bartender making drinks for the servers at the pass was churning them out, but she didn’t take orders from patrons directly. I also saw staff wearing their face masks incorrectly; one wiped his nose and then unloaded glasses. Not what you want to see during COVID times. Not worth the long walk down the pier or the high drink prices if you can manage to order one successfully. Really disappointing.

had high expectations. Afterall, this was a beautiful rooftop bar on top of the #1 tourist spot in Chicago. I expected welcoming,top-notch staff and great food. I was wrong. We went for apps and drinks before the Jazz cruise a couple Sundays ago. We were 3 well dressed adults (50-60's). After getting off the elevator, I was asked to check my bag but after we had sat down for a few minutes, I quickly saw 2 women carrying bags bigger than mine. I went back to the bag check area (there were no other bags I saw that were checked) and retrieved my bag after she looked in. I have no trouble with bag checks in these troubling times, but no woman wants to be without her purse. At that point I felt racially profiled. We sat inside the bar for about 15 minutes before any of the wait staff approached us. The bar was about 1/3 full and a few walked right past us without acknowledging us. A waitress gave us menus and left us for another 10 minutes. The place was not crowded at all and I saw no large groups. We left and ate at another venue on the pier. I believe and hope this bar can get new management and hire and train new employees. Everyone we had contact with acted like they did not want to work. Too bad, the place is beautiful. This is not a private club so I hope everything I have read and the way they seem to have treated the customers will be corrected. If there is a dress code, please post it everywhere and not use dress codes as an arbitrary way to keep some people out. You either have a dress code or you don't. Check everyone's bags, check suitcases and the like, and let people keep their smaller stuff. If you serve drinks quickly, you can make more money. I am not sure why that is such a had concept. Don't ignore your customer.

Terrible experience at that place. It should be illegal for places like this to have such ridiculous mark ups on their liquor or at-leas let the customer know they are on a 600% mark up strategy. We stopped there for one drink. The bartender went over their “limited whisky selection verbally since they aren’t on the menu” saying they don’t have much of a selection. When we got the bill it was $70 dollars for not even 4oz of liquor. When we asked to speak to the manager that he could have at least given us a warning on their “limited selection bar”. He responded saying that they don’t usually do that because customers “should know” what they are ordering and then took $13.50 of the price. We knew it was a $200 whisky bottle $30 or even 40 for 4oz is reasonable. But $70 is a complete insult and ripoff. The $13.50 after hearing his long useless speech was an insult. And he was VERY condescending taking to us like if we were 5 years old. I never write reviews however this needed to be written and make sure is doesn’t happen again to any customer because apparently now we are suppose to know how bars up charge a $200 whisky bottle to $70 dollars for not even 4oz. Not ok

We were staying in Chicago for a couples weekend and had a great experience going to Offshore for drinks & dessert after dinner to experience this new Navy Pier rooftop bar & fireworks. It was great & so glad we did it! The wine selection was good and we loved the chocolate fondue. We arrived on the earlier side- 8:00 on a Saturday night which helped with the line wait (about half hour) & getting a seat. We chose to sit inside bordering the large floor to ceiling glass door panels-partially open since it was a chilly night. This roof top space is massive with indoor flexible seating space & expansive outdoor space with some fire pits. The D.J. that night was great with mix of new & older hits. The inside bar is large with lots of seating & food service is inside and partially outside. The crowd was a nice mix of young-older couples, friends & larger groups. At 10:15 the summer fireworks show was great from this vantage point as well as the city skyline views from the sides. The atmosphere is lively & fun and servers were good that night too. Tips: expect to wait in line to go up to the rooftop as people are admitted as other guests leave. Line managers helped steer those looking to jump ahead to the back of the line, while also helping to move an older woman with a walker to the front of the line. The bathrooms are modern, but quite dark-surprisingly so. This is for hardy walkers as it is at the very end tip of Navy Pier and a long stroll from the pier entrance. This is adult only- everyone is carded before the elevator ride up to the rooftop. Overall-recommended for couples, groups & tourists. Hope to come back with a fun group sometime.

Josh was great. Great atmosphere, friendly quick service. Food and drinks are great. The view is amazing !but the service was amazing

I loved the atmosphere of the rooftop with a great view of the Chicago Skyline. I was there for a corporate event & the service started out great but, started going downhill the closer it was for our event to end. My overall experience was a 4 out of 10.

We located the Offshore Rooftop by chance. But it was a good find. Our server was very good. Excellent place to sit , eat , talk , relax and take a view of Chicago skyline. The food was fresh and very good. The vegetable platter was excellent.

Two words: Teal Polos. I truly do not understand what the owners of this establishment were going for with this place. I am a Chicagoan and decided to book a stay-cation at Sable hotel (also located at the pier). In my fabulous room at Sable, I was looking for an equally exquisite rooftop bar to enjoy. Off Shore seemed like a perfect fit. The decor was divine and the menu seemed up to par. Now when I got there it was a very different story. The service was poor and the ambiance was so questionable. I mean this is amazing real estate but the execution is horrific. Tell me why the servers are wearing the exact same outfit as the individuals that run the rides on the pier? This place could be a social scene but instead, there were kids in swimsuits running around the restaurant. I mean the decor screams high class but everything else says amusement park. Not the mention the manager seems clueless and honestly lost as he walked around the establishment. This place needs a major upgrade before I even think about coming back.

Called here to dine upstairs and on entering was asked if we had a reservation. We didn't but asked if they had room which they had. However the lady at the desk told us to stand there, go online and book so we could enter and dine. I explained that I didn't have a signal on my phone so couldn't book that way. At that point there was no help at all forthcoming to assist us with this issue and she was happy for us to walk away and leave. What an odd way to deal with customers!! For me I wouldnt bother with this place.

We spent our last night in Chicago at this fabulous rooftop bar. We had a wonderful choice of seating and very attentive service. The view of the Chicago skyline going from daylight to dusk, to seeing the night skyline was a perfect end to our Chicago trip. Highly recommended

We had tickets to the Shakespeare Theatre so went to Navy Pier (which, as locals, we never do). We decided to try Offshore as we'd read it just opened. The space is really nice. There are plenty of outdoor tables, comfy seating areas and open sections including bags games. It really is a large space! Offshore is 21+ which is kind of nice and there were several friendly faces stationed around directing you to the right place both before and after the elevator ride. We split the Amish Chicken sandwich, which was okay, and shared the shoe string potatoes which were very good. The bill, with tip, for those items plus a Heineken and a glass of prosecco was $51 which we found reasonable. Do note Offshore is at the very end of Navy Pier above the ballroom so it's quite a schlep from the entrance. It will be very crowded I'm sure on fireworks nights. Overall, it is a great addition to the outdoor bar scene in Chicago.
.
fantastic view!!! ordered the wings..on the dried out side..i talked to waitress who tried to convince me that was normal for wings with a rub on them!which of course is not true! talked to other patrons who said thier batch was not dried out..ours were obviously overdone! they shouldve taken a pct off of the bill..will give them another chance, though..they did have a good taste, and, i ordered a cup of thier bbq sauce to dip them in which helped! the sauce was very good!
