Always reliable and a great experience. Come here several times a year for over 15 years, especially when bringing out of town guests. Never disappoints.

Hole in the wall sushi. Don't be scared by the exterior

You may get more than you bargain for when you eat at Oishii; they copied my credit card and used it fraudulently months later to buy thousands of dollars worth of stuff at Walmart, Ace Mart Restaurant Supply, and Starbucks (in Rowlett). The food is no longer good. The service is terrible. And ripping off their good customers too after all that? Priceless. 100% sure it was this place. Buyer beware! You've been warned.

This place had some delicious sushi. The rolls were great. My only complaint was the cost. It all seemed a bit expensive. I kept looking at a few rolls and it seemed like everything was $14+ per roll. Service was good. We got a table quickly.

This was our first trip to Oishii since the reopening after the fire. The sushi and food was awesome and the service was spot on. This is our favorite sushi and Asian food stop when visiting Dallas. There was no wait. Plum wine is divine. Everyone must experience this place at least once then you will be hooked.

Wow is the first word that comes to mind. Tan the chef and man in charge is a genius. The service is wonderful, the presentation is amazing and oh yea the food is great. Tan is an absolute artist with his presentation skills. The flavor combinations are very good. Highly recommend this and try to sit at the sushi bar.

Went by this restaraunt as a lark and I was amazed! First of all the valet parking was a hoot (they blocked off some of the lot just for that feature). Everyone was so friendly from the maitre d' to the busboy. Service was great. I highly recommend the On The Border roll. Super yummy!!!!

My party ordered the volcano roll and spicy yellow tail roll which were excellent. The volcano roll was served with thinly sliced cooked scallops which were a delicious unexpected touch. We also had great steamed pot stickers and miso soup. Our entree order was not put into the kitchen correctly by the waiter as we had ordered shaken beef not the Mongolian beef that came out. We did not complain as my mom enjoyed it anyway. Peking duck and the scallops were also ordered. Everything was good even with the misunderstanding on the order. The restaurant was packed so it took some time for the sushi to come out but our other appetizers came out promptly. Great ambiance, food, and courteous service.

Four of us were together and had great food. The 42 roll and the TriBeCa "sandwiches" were both outstanding. A good diverse menu in addition to sushi. Half price wine on Wednesday. Valet parking.

We go to Oishii for the Duck and the soft shell crabs. The sushi is not the finest in town but it is more than acceptable for a family dinner. The peking duck is succulent and plentiful and the soft shell crab is lightly fried and served in crispy pieces. The sashimi was very fresh and the rolls fresh and tasty. Very family friendly and comfortable. Great place to go after work when you don't want to cook!

Got in early enough to get seats right at the sushi bar, fun to watch them make it! Reasonably priced and delicious! Staff were all courteous and attentive! Must go!

Waited for 30 minutes and found a seat at the bar and the manager asked us to leave very rudely so another group could sit. The worst service I have encountered in Dallas.

My brother and I dropped in for sushi. It was ok sushi. One of the rolls we had was the Chef Special. My brother had a glass of plum wine.

First time visiting this restaurant and completely impressed with the whole thing. The service was attentive and genuine, the decor was interesting, and the food - OMG. I think without question it was the best sashimi salad I've ever eaten. Will certainly be going again.

I've been here twice, once with a group and once with my spouse and the service was great both times. We only ordered sushi and it was very fresh. Also they have a full bar including multiple sake to chose from

I ate at Oishii recently with my sister, as we are both Japanese food "experts" and we both thought everything was just average. Not the freshest fish. Very average hot items. Nothing memorable or redeeming. If you are happy with California rolls and edamame, this is fine for you. If you want the "best of the best", flawless Japanese food with many exotic items, in Dallas there are Tei Tei Robata, Teppo Yakitori, Tei An, and Yutaka. Everything else after those four goes downhill. Yes, including Steel, Nobu, et al.......

Great option to get my pot stickers steamed! The hot and sour soup was above average and they allowed me to get the orange chicken with non-fried option! Fantastic and reasonably priced.

I used to dine here quite frequently, was always a guaranteed good night with Oishii's starting us off. But unfortunately, I found myself waiting for two rolls and one order of sushi. After about 30 minutes, the waitress came to the table and told us it would be up in "less than 5 minutes". After 20 more minutes we canceled the order with the hostess, because the server wouldn't even look our way. She brought the rolls to the table, which made us feel OBLIGATED to take the food. When one of my guests pointed out that a table that came in after us, had gotten all of their food before us, she stated, "Yeah, they had a big order, I don't know why they did theirs first"! hmmmm, I wonder. They ruined my night!

I came by at 11 for a Togo order and they flat refused my order because the dine in customers are more important said the host. Do not use them anyone who refuses a Togo order because they are afraid you might not tip them is ridiculous. I will be going to Kaze sushi from now on

I travel quite a bit and sushi is always on the menu. I was told by my hotel that Oishii was an excelent place for good priced sushi. They were wrong. The fish was not very fresh, sashimi was paper thin, and service was very slow. I have found better sushi in landlocked states. For the price I paid, I would have expected a better caliber of food. There was not a sashimi combo on the menu. When I asked the server about it, he said they could make one...did I want the $15 or $20 plate? I got 3 different kinds of fish and they all tasted the same...not good for a sushi place. If you are considering coming here, I would suggest against it. As I said, I eat a lot of sushi and this place is sub par.

Lights went out after a 45 min wait with no food. They ran out of rice and we could not have sushi, rice plates, egg rolls, nothing. Terrible experience.

Convenient after work....good fancy rolls.

This place is amazing. Love to sit at the sushi bar and watch them work their magic with their creative rolls. The entire family loves to eat here once a week.

excellent sushi, excellent value.

After having a fire and being closed for around 6 months for renovations, we were excited they have re-opened. The new decor is very contemporary and clean. The food is as good as always. So glad to be able to have a close spot for great sushi!

The restaurant does good business, the staff is pleasant, and they offer a variety of sushi options. Unfortunately, their prices are higher than the value of the food, but the food was just above average.

Dinner with Family. Very popular, crowded. Good bar. Good service in restaurant. Ok sushi, sashimi menu. Virtually nothing else Japanese on menu. I ordered Pho (Vietnamese), my nephew, a Chinese dish. Both excellent.

A local suggested we try the Tribeca and the uptown. Pure awesomeness, the Tribeca offers unique mix of Truffle oil with the rice paper, making for an amazing, slightly crunchy roll. It's like a party in your mouth. The Bartender suggested a sushi special that sat on top of a himalayan salt block...fresh and unique experience as well. I have been back several times...only complaint is the hostess and getting seated. Several tables sat open with no reserve sign, but we were told we have to wait??

My wife and I went for lunch one day. We ordered from the lunch menu. Wait staff was good at first then was nonexistent after. This place was very noisy. The parking outside is horrible. The food was just okay. Neither of us were pleased with anything. At the end the waiter tried to short us on our change. If you live in Dallas and want just mediocre food and service then this is the place. I do not recommend this place to anyone and will not be returning. BW

My first visit was a winner on many counts, not the least of which is half-price wines on Wednesday. Our group of 3 requested in advance (and received) seats at the sushi bar, enabling us to also receive not only great food but a wonderful "show" to boot. We ordered a wonderful Stags Leap Chardonnay (1/2 price = $27) and started with a wonderful (and beautiful - see pics) Tuna Tower -- delicious and just a bit spicy. Perfection! I thoroughly enjoyed a Ceviche De Oishii -- also a beautiful presentation and a tasty blend of fish. But the best of the best was the Tuna Sushi which was melt-in-your-mouth exceptional. The tuna flavor is superb! I can't wait to go back and enjoy so many other choices here. Parking in the evening can be challenging. The place rocks!

My friend brought me here for lunch. Very unassuming from the outside, but once you walk in, a beautiful space! Not busy, but consistently had people coming and going. Nice sized menu, not too big, but many choices. I had the Miso Soup which was good but most places have the seaweed in it, this was just the soup tofu and scallions. I had salmon nigiri which was very fresh and melt in your mouth and the California rolls which were perfect! My friend had off menu DOA rolls which are tuna I think but very spicy and delish! Very happy with my experience all in all. Service was a bit slow, especially since they come right away to take your order. But I would definitely go back, very good! I do wish they had iced green tea though...

We sat at the Sushi Bar and it was amazing watching these chefs prepare all of those beautiful plates of sushi and sashimi. We started out with Salmon salad and ate many different rolls. Every single dish was beautiful and delicious. So fresh and I can't wait to go back.

Oishii is our go to place for sushi and also for many people we know. Everything is fresh. Some of the special rolls are not to be found elsewhere and the price is reasonable.

Sushi was fresh and the prices were reasonable. We enjoyed the tribeca, oishii, and caterpillar rolls.

We started with the dumplings and edamame and they were the best I've ever had! We ordered several different rolls and cocktails. All were very good! Well worth the trip. Excellent!!

This is without doubt one of the best Japanese/fusion restaurants I have ever been to.... The sheer variety of combinations and the blends of Japanese, American, Texan and Mexican cuisine are a pure delight.... Subtle wines to match, and all I can add is that you've got all the ingredients for a world-class restaurant....

This restaurant might not be located in the most charming neighborhood but it is one of the best sushi places in Dallas. Very simple place both from outside and from inside, but very clean and organized. Make a reservation for lunch because it can get pretty busy. Food is really good, very fresh, and rich in flavors. Service is good and polite.

Hands down, our favorite sushi place in Dallas. Of course, there are others we love that may be a bit fancier or more traditional, but Oishii is our favorite. The rolls are genius and original. All traditional rolls/nigiri also offered. Chef Thanh is amazing. He also happens to be the owner. Service is always top notch. Don't let the location fool you. This place is the best.

On a recent trip to Dallas, a local native took three of us business travelers to one of his favorite asian restaurants. From the outside, it doesn't look like much. But, what a pleasant surprise inside! The main dining room was comfortable with good, but not overly bright lighting. We sat in a nice roomy booth. The sushi, the Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese influenced dishes - virtually every dish we ordered was fantastic. And the service was great as well. Such a friendly, attentive waitress. I eat out a lot during business trips, fancy expensive places and holes in the wall. Most of these restaurants are not worth writing about or going back to. But, Oishii is a restaurant worth going out of your way to enjoy. Be adventurous, the selections are plentiful, fun, and surprisingly good.

This is by far the best sushi in Dallas. It's loud but the food is great. Massive menu from sushi to sashimi to rolls. Worth every penny.

First, the service was awesome! Second, the sushi was OFF THE CHAIN!!!! I couldn't get enough. So fresh, sweet, Delicious. I tried to everything on the menu.

Great sushi. Good prices!

Hard to beat for the price.

I was taken back tonight at a highly recommend Chinese fusion restaurants in Dallas. 6 pieces of shrimp. Size 41/55 that means it takes that many to make a pound. I highly recommend you go elsewhere.

On the recommendation of my wife's hair stylist, we gave Oishii a try for lunch. Located in a strip center, it turned out to be quite a nice find. My wife had one of the sushi selections while I tried the Kung Pao Chicken. The sushi was very fresh and tasty, while the KPChicken was a good one with plenty of flavor and spice, but not overly spicy. The restaurant was neat, clean and nicely but simply furnished. It had one of the more tasteful aquariums I had seen in awhile. The bar flows right into the restaurant seating area and you can observe them preparing the sushi, sashimi, etc. The wait staff were very knowledgeable, always observant and available for questions, water, etc. All in all a very pleasant experience and we would recommend it for lunch.

We read the reviews on how good the sushi is a Oishii and man it did not disappoint! It is not an impressive place from the street as it is in a strip mall with very limited parking. The space itself is LOUD and makes conversation tough as it was 100% full. You need a reservation or you are not getting in. The food is the real reason for the 5 start review. The sushi is fresh, creative and the waiter was on top of it even though he was slammed. This place stacks up with some of the best sushi we have had.

The sashimi is fresh and the dishes are creative! Its definitely one of the best restaurants in town, plus the vibe is friendly and casual, perfect for a weekday dinner or lunch!

Couldn’t ask for more. The food was delicious, and the portions were large. The service was attentive, and they went out of their way to accommodate 4 adults and two young little girls. In addition they even had Aji, my all time favorite. Don’t know what Dinner is like. This was lunch and it was perfect.

Always fresh and what all other sushi in the world is compared to!! Caesar roll and Royce roll are the best!! Good cocktails, terrific waiters and Tom is so hospitable!

My wife and I visited Oishii for dinner while attending a conference at the Hilton Anatole. Oishii is about 1.25 mile walk from the hotel. We enjoyed the food here so much we actually ended up eating here three times during the week we were in Dallas. In fact, we invited other conference attendees to join us as well. They have a very complete menu that includes not only sushi but a wide range of other Asian cuisines. The sea salt calamari was very nice and of course for us the sushi was our favorite. We ordered quite a few different rolls during our multiple visits. I particularly like the Chef's Special Roll and the G Roll that was topped with very thinly sliced pieces of jalapeno peppers. They were not that hot just very flavorful. The prices were reasonable considering their location and the high quality of the food. We will definitely eat here again if we visit this area for another conference.

I have been to Oishii a number of times and am always impressed by the quality of the sushi and the creative rolls the sushi chefs have created. The pho is also some of the best in town - fantastic. Don't let the humble appearance of the strip center fool you, Oishii is a top notch restaurant.

Our son took us to Oishii, we will not forget the sushi. The rice free sushi rolls were excellent. We waited well over an hour to be seated, it was worth it! We ordered only special rolls from their board and each were delicious. Finished with the Vietnamese coffee!

If your looking for a fresh innovative sushi restaurant, Oishi is your kind of place. I have been going for years now and have not found it's rival in Dallas for the price. Most are more expensive and not as good a selection. Average rolls are $10 to $14 and well worth it. Vietnamese dishes are great for a change of pace. Than (Owner and head sushi master) and Oscar are the best.

My doctors always g take a candidate here and wondered what the food was like since I live sushi. When I say it's a nice place it really is. I went solo for lunch and really enjoyed myself. I live the food!! I had the Sushi lunch and feel in love. I will be back next week for another adventure.

A friend and I decided to try out Oishii because of the high reviews. We arrived right as they opened. We sat at the bar and had great service from Gabe. The sushi was excellent. Had 3 rolls from there specialty menu and a two piece sushi. All were great. One of the best sushi experiences I’ve had in Texas. I will definitely be back. If you want to sit at the sushi bar make sure to make reservations. Oishii is popular and is very busy.

My first impression was a little 'blah'. You pull into a strip mall, which always throws me. But when you walk in the doors of Oishi, you are quickly immersed in an environment that makes it easy to forget what is outside the front door. Impressive menu, with sushi that branches out from the simple. Said differently, they have a lot more than a California Roll or a Spicy Tuna Roll. Try something that pushed your boundaries. Your won't regret it. Do not skip the Vietnamese Spring Roll. It's a little bit of heaven. Light, but full of flavor.

Great midweek stop for sushi. Casual atmosphere. Service can be a bit slow, so don't go if you are in a hurry.

The worst service by Feliza. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. Had to inquire on the status of our wait; no apology from management. Very disappointing!!

Although the location of this restaurant may give you pause, the food won’t. It is reasonably priced and the sushi, rolls, sashimi and cooked food are all fantastic. Try any of the house specials- you won’t be disappointed. Kids love it too!

This was the first time we have had riceless sushi and it was the best ever, hands down! This place was awesome! I can only hope that I can find a place near my house this good, one day!

Love, love, love this place! When the food is the brain child of the top sushi chef's in Dallas - everything is fantastic. Imaginative, flavorful, and fresh! Ask for the Tribeca or for an uber spicy treat - the DOA.

Best ever, best in Dallas, best anywhere!! Have been going 2-3 times a month for years and quality, service, and atmosphere are the best!

Applying the "Best" in any food category is a gutsy move. But, after having dined at Oishii and many, many other sushi restaurants in Dallas, I can say that Oishii rises above the pack. The nigiri sushi is very well proportioned, not thin slices on slabs of rice. Most importantly, the quality is always superb. Oishii's fresh salmon is better than what most other sushi restaurants sell as "fatty salmon." Buttery smooth and flavorful. The Hamachi (yellowtail tuna) borderlines on being Toro. The rolls are creative and exciting. The infamous 911 Roll, the Donut Roll are both excellent. Thann grows many of his own vegetables, so the freshness is assured.

I've come for lunch and I've come for dinner. Both excellent experiences. I'm a bit of a creature of habit when it comes to my choices. I'm often in a bit of a time crunch, so please take that into consideration when reading this. I always start with the edamame appetizer. Huge portion, served piping hot and with just the right amount of salt. Next up, is their riceless sushi roll. One roll per person is more than ample. Riceless? Yep. They substitute crab for rice. There are a number or choices, but my favorites have been Royce, Caesar and Flower. Each choice is outstanding. Go with friends and share; you won't be disappointed.

The Sushi is always the best, but tonight we had the Crab Rangoons that were full of flavor, the Shaken Beef and Edamame salted to perfection. We love going with a group it is more fun to share.

Four of us went there for lunch and it took us about 40 minutes to get our food after we ordered. My food was a little on the cooler side, so it had clearly been sitting in the back for a while. While the restaurant was full, there seemed to be plenty of wait staff, so the kitchen must have been really backed up. My portion was large (enough for lunch the next day too), and it tasted okay - I've certainly had better. Due to the slowness, I will think twice before returning.

Oishii offers sushi and other Japanese favorites, plus some Chinese and pan-Asian options too. The sushi is good, with generous slices on the nigiri and the usual selection of rolls. Good selection of appetizers, though oddly tempura is not listed. We sampled the Mongolian beef and enjoyed it too, as did we the Vietnamese summer rolls. Nice service, comfortable seating with counter, booth and table options. It's located in a strip mall, but the inside is a pleasant haven. Standard prices for the dishes, though soup and salad are extra instead of included as they are in some Japanese restaurants. Friendly and attentive service.

Tan is BACK after an unfortunate accident the OISHII restaurant is now reopened better and bigger than before To me it's the best sushi place in Big D, his food is supper fresh, flown in every day from distant places. The new decor is very chic, modern and not pretentious The food he and his staff crafts is spectacular, I mentioned to him today that he is not only an outstanding chef but a true culinary (and in general) an artist) He did a great job rebuilding and as the legendary Phoenix he is soaring Pick any of his creations, from incredible "FLAMBÉ "sushi to the classics, and then add his tex-mex creations with Serrano chiles and the ever present Siracha sauce that not only does not overwhelm the dish it enhances it Lastly his pricing is very down to earth I strongly recommend visiting or revisiting OISHII Forgot to mention, his bar offers quite a unique selection of Sake hard to find anywhere else this side of the Pacific or LA best wishes and KAMPAI Salud Cheers Well done

Love, love this out of the way stop for sushi. And I love their salad also with the yummy ginger lime sesame dressing.... mmmmm they have great service and everything is so fresh.

I'm addicted 2 there Escolar Tataki! Love Tuna tower. Spicy Salmon Salad! Miso Black Cod! Gr8 Service. Gr8 sushi 4 the price! The new remodel is beautiful. Really missed them while they were closed!

We were visiting friends in Dallas & had travelled from the UK where we thought we'd had great sushi in the past, but this place offered some AMAZING alternatives and I have to say the food was delicious! We were a party of 8 and we were pretty noisy, but out waitress looked after us very well and keep the food coming in a timely manner. They do large plates of sharing food, and my favourite item was little triangular bites with a sauce and they had crispy rice in them... they were unbelievable and well worth the trip alone!! The price was around $50 per person which included drinks (2 bottle of wine for my partner and I), plus all the food, so not bad in my opinion. We would definitely return her next time we are in Dallas.

I love coming here. The sushi Is always fresh. Service on point. In a crazy strip Center Location. Don’t let that fool you. Packed with clients every time I go. Great prices for Incredible quality.

“Never judge a book by it’s cover”, Momma said. The exterior and location would’ve sent me away running, but.... We were taken there by a very trusted source. My daughter! The food & service was excellent along with it being kid friendly. What more could you ask for. And the decor was very pleasant. So don’t be afraid, go inside and enjoy every bite.

Five of us had dinner on half price wine night. Excellent spring rolls as a starter. Split three entrees: 42, tuna poke and the tribeca. All very good and enough for us. Valet parking. A little crowded but the service was timely and efficient.

Oishii One of our favorite places in Dallas for sushi. Unique rolls and sashimi. Also, a full menu that features a full array of Asian dishes. Great service and a good wine/sake list. Easy parking; also provides valet parking.

Been dining at Oishii since it opened eight yrs ago. Consistently very good sushi. Owner Thanh (we've become fist butting friends) works the sushi bar but back kitchen also has very good prepared dishes: Singapore noodles ( chicken), Pho Ga soup is a meal itself or almost for two. Shrimp in tomato sauce definitely enuf for two ( or take some home). Parking is tight ( Pizza place is next door, gay bar nearby in same lot) but worth the effort. My wife and I dine there almost once a week; nowhere else for sushi.

Average quality. Fun atmosphere and crowd. Slow service.

This restaurant could use a little attention when it comes to cleanliness and decor. The food was average but I have no complaints. The service was subpar, our server did try to make up for the multiple forgotten orders. It was just my wife and I. Pretty disappointing

Our "go-to" destination for Pan Asian food. Favorite time of day is late afternoon, great food & drink at a leisurely pace with good service

If you go to Dallas this holiday season or any other time, head uptown and let the valet park your car while you head in to belly up to the bar, with Dain. He will have a warm and robust greeting for you as you to settle in for all sorts of wonderfulness. If you need help in selecting from a menu that offers a long list of options, or finding a drink that fits the occasion, just ask—the barkeep is a pro at identifying a perfect fit for a parched palette. For me, he was quick to suggest a French 75, an excellent winter alternative to my usual Gin & Tonic. The food is extraordinary. Before you dive into anything else, try the sweet and sour soup. It’s a good beginning that prepares your taste buds for more to come. A warm welcome, constant attention and people that add a spark to your continued well-being are all on hand at Oishii, a restaurant true to its name: a delicious and delightful experience that gets you off to a great start in The Big D.

I've been going to Oishii for years and they never fail to impress. I like ever bit of sushi I've eaten here! The ice tea is not very good though so go with a coke, hot tea, or saki.

I can't say this enough. This place is sushi heaven. If you're patient, ask for a seat at the sushi bar. It's a wonderful experience to watch these guys work. You'll also notice a lot of the patrons here are on a first name basis with the staff. This place is all about providing a wonderful dining experience time after time. Once Dallas' best kept secret, it now is busy every night of the week... So come early and have a drink at the bar while you wait. Food recommendations: Tribeca... Definitely the most unique thing (like little finger sandwiches) and soooo tasty. It's my favorite, so I have them bring it last. Lol Yellowtail Special... Don't forget to say "special". It's an off menu item that's light, clean, and oh so tasty. Oh, and if you're lucky enough to have Oscar as your waiter, you're in for A+ service :)

7 employees in the island at the sushi bar talking, singing, on their phones, entertaining themselves, but certainly taking any care of the guest. Work areas littered with clutter, two many flies. Service from wait staff was on point. Sushi was OK, but for a $100.00 + one expects more when sitting at the sushi bar.

I was here with a group of 6 at lunchtime. The sushi was very good but the service was a bit slow. We tried 6 different rolls and all were very good. The fish was fresh and the flavors were nicely balanced. I enjoyed having some options that were a bit different than the standard offerings at most sushi places. The rolls were generous in size and had a good rice to filling ratio. I have not eaten sushi elsewhere in Dallas so I cannot compare to other local offerings but I would rank this as some of the best sushi I have eaten.

The Sushi here is really good but today I just needed a quick lunch before appointment in the area. The selection is on par with a panda express and are mostly the selections that play well in Peoria. Food was hot and tasty and lunch portion of Gerneral Tsao chicken was sufficient for the price. But service was slow and I think I will stick with Sushi next time.

Oishii, means “delicious” in Japanese. And, the food is just that! It’s a sushi and Pan Asian restaurant. We went because a long time bartender from Morton’s left Morton’s to become the general manager at Oishii. So, we told him we’d come visit. We started with pan fried pot stickers which were some of the best we’ve ever had. They will do them any way you want, steamed, pan fried or deep fried. One thing I particularly liked about them was that they were filled with chicken. Most pot stickers I’ve had have been filled with shrimp. I'm not a shellfish fan. So, the chicken was a welcome change for me. We also got beef tataki. It was done a little differently, topped with radish sprouts and what looked like serrano pepper slices. It was good. But, not exceptional. So, we probably wouldn’t order it again. My husband ordered a sushi item called Tribeca which was one of the GM's recommendations. It’s a layer of sticky rice topped with sushi grade salmon, topped with avocado, topped with more rice and finished with a layer of rice paper. They served 4 large wedges per order, which was plenty for a meal, but might be better to split as an appetizer. I got the Mongolian beef. I commented to the GM how tender the meat was and he said they slice it from a whole tenderloin. No wonder it was like buttah! I had my fill. Hubby tried some. And, there was still plenty left over for both of us to have a substantial lunch the next day. Next time we go, we’re getting the Peking duck, which Tom (the GM) said was fantastic. Tom even ordered some Absinthe for the bar because he knows my husband’s favorite after dinner drink is a Sazerac, which calls for Absinthe to be swirled around the glass before making the drink. Tom said they didn’t have Sambuca (yet), which is what I usually order. He makes a good Kamikaze though. Their wine list is well rounded and reasonably priced. We got some sort of white blend that he recommended for $32. He also mentioned that they offer half price bottles of wine on Wednesdays. We will definitely be back.

We go at least once a week and are never disappointed, we have tried many items and always love the jalapeño yellow tail, sea bass, black cod and the 42 roll, it is always fresh and the place is fun and lively, Wednesday is half price wine so go early and enjoy the night😎JP and Lisa

Such an enjoyable lunch. Sushi was amazing and fresh. Lively spot with cocktails flowing on a Friday afternoon. Opera roll was the favorite.

We were very happy with Oishii. It was our first visit and the evening went great. The atmosphere was nicer than most Sushi places we have been. You walk in to a wonderful smell from the kitchen and Sushi bar, that just makes you hungry. Prices reasonable or average for Sushi, but the Sushi and Sashimi was exceptionally fresh and tasty. Service was friendly and attentive. Wine list reasonable. Very enjoyable evening. Only gripe was I wish they were in North Dallas!

I have been eating at Oishi for almost 2 years and it is the BEST Japanese food and sushi in the DFW area and, from my experience, in the U.S. Tuesday nights are half price sushi and all the sushi is good. My favorites are the squid, calamari, scallop and mussel. Their sushi rolls (cooked and raw) are excellent. My favorite is the #42 roll, which has guacamole, crab and shrmp in it. I also enjoy the Texas roll and the roll with fried tuna. The service is excellent. I always ask for Oscar....he is very good and because I am a regular customer, he knows what I want! Oishi's prices are on par with what you will pay at other Japanese restaurants; however, you get alot of food for the price. The #42 roll, for example, costs $14, and that is becasue it is a large speciality roll. The other rolls cost anywhere from $4 up, depending on what you are getting. The sushi prices are lower than other Japanese restaurants I have been too and the quality of the food at Oishi is far superior.

It was good but nothing exceptional. The service was horrible and it took them FOREVER to bring out the food. I had uptown sushi roll which was fresh but 15 dollars for that pseudo specialty roll is too much. Vermicelli bowl was ok, maybe 3 star. In general it was an okay restaurant.

Amazing food and great atmosphere!!

Flew in from Colorado for a relatives birthday dinner. This unassuming strip mall sushi restaurant was delightful from start to finish. Had a great selection of sake and the ambiance was low key but bustling. Enjoyed the snapper sashimi and a roll that had truffle oil on the plate. Can't quite remember the name as it was a recommendation but it came in triangular sections and was fantastic! The owner/manager (not sure which) came by several times to see how everything was, but not in an intrusive way, just genuine concern. Service was ok, hence just the 4 review wise, but it was quite busy. I'm sure to return on a future visit.

We really enjoyed the quality and creativity of the rolls and sashimi. The orange chicken and egg rolls are worth ordering as well. We will definitely go back when we have a chance.

Excellent food and service. The sushi was fresh and tasted delicious. I highly recommend. We had the m&m roll, flower roll and spicy yellowtail roll. They were so good.

I enjoyed the sushi. Not the best in town, but not bad either. The atmosphere was good and not crazy, so you can talk and hear your friends. It has a really good wine selection as well.

I have been coming here for about ten years now, and the sushi menu has been consistently great. They also have an Asian menu if you are not a big fan of sushi, but I have not tried anything on it just yet. The place has evolved in terms of size and decor pretty substantially, and it still gets packed despite almost doubling in size over the years. Great news is that they started taking reservations. Parking can be a hassle, especially on promo nights (half price bottles of wine on Wednesday nights, for example), so Uber if you can, or there is a valet on site too. Overall it is a great place, and one of the few that was able to withstand the test of time. Something I imagine is very hard to do for a restaraunt in a dynamic city Dallas has become over the past ten years or so.

Plenty of rolls to chose and of course sashimi. All were excellent. The saki and beer is good. Get here early in the evening. It is very popular and the wait line gets extensive. We were able to get seated immediately. We ordered 4 rolls, sashimi, fried rice, and other appetizers. Everything tasted great. Service was attentive and friendly.

We had sushi and sashimi along with 2 bottles of sake and it was all excellent. The food comes as it is ready so no long waits. The fish is high quality and fresh. Service is excellent and I would highly recommend this place. Its certainly on my list whenever I am back in Dallas.

Oishii is a neighborhood sushi restaurant, and much needed! The food was originally great, the place was packed, and it was a lot of fun. Then there was the extended closing due to fire. After reopening the place went south a bit. In the last few weeks I have returned and been delighted with the food; however, the service and air conditioning were seriously on the blink last week. Not enough to keep me from returning in hopes these issues are remedied, but seriously, this is Dallas, Texas in July--get the a/c cranking and get the staff that does show up to hustle--hungry, hot people are cranky.

The food is amazing here, but the wait staff is not able to handle the pressure and volume. Sometime tables that seated later will get their food sooner. They are polite though. The parking is another issue, valet is the only option and they literately are parking 5 ft away in the same plaza. If you are adventurous and are looking for new restaurants I would recommend checking this place.

Love this Sushi restaurant! Great decor, perfect for lunch. I loved getting the house salad with My sushi and I loved that they sent me with my iced tea to go! Everyone enjoyed it. Fast service and very easy to have a conversation here.

The food is the best and my kids loved the fishes that are in the tank. But most of all the food was over the top amazing I highly recommend it to anybody and everybody with a family and not!!!So again we love this place.

Oishi is the only place that I eat Japanese food at in the DFW area. My experience with Oishi is similar to when you kiss alot of frogs before you find your prince or princess. Oishi is the prince/princess! I love the #42 roll! It is my favorite. I also enjoy the Texas roll, the fried Tuna roll and the Volcano. In terms of Sushi, the mackrel, scallop and green muscle are my favorites.

Our favorite sushi spot in D. Unique dishes such as the 42 and the Tribeca. The service is perfect. Ask for Oscar, he is great. We return frequently.

Sashimi was fresh and tasty. The roll was average. Steamed dumplings were cold. Ordered a lemongrass chicken to go and it was good. My sashimi order came out as sushi and it took a LONG time to correct it. My "new" order went to the bottom of the pile. The service was average. It appeared they needed more people work the lunch rush. I will only return if I'm with someone who wants to eat here. There are plenty of other tasty places in the area.

The sushi was FANTASTIC! SO fresh, rivaled my favorite place from Aruba. Definitely recommend and our service was over the top awesome. Bryan was truly the definition of a great server and he made excellent recommendations. We had the Royce roll, the caesar roll, and delicious sushimi!

Five of went and enjoyed the sishi and the Weds night half-price wine. Particularly, try the 24, the Tribeca and the sashimi. We go quite a bit, and think the food and service are among the best for the genre.

This is a great little place -- some of the best sushi I have ever had. We walked in around 7 on a Friday night and the place was packed. We chose to sit at the sushi bar so we didn't have to wait for a table. Very entertaining watching the chefs prepare the sushi. We started with the pan fried dumplings and they were wonderful. I had the donut roll and loved it. Very fresh. Food came out fast once we ordered. They have a good sized wine list. Service wasn't bad but wasn't great. Their parking is limited but they do offer complimentary valet.

Ever time I get to Dallas overnight I try to fit in Oishii. Probably my 4th trip in 6 months - never gets old and always exceptional quality! Love to sit a bar and watch if not with a group. No reservations (go early ) but worth the wait. Waiters are great on specials and top choices so ask them. This trip we tried new and favorites: Donut, Oishii, Cesar, and Royce plus Tuna sashimi. Each plate kept getting better and better! Great beer, wine and sake selection. Like alot of great restaurants in Tx, its in a strip center (next to a popular pizzeria), not fancy or decorative and parking lot is always full - but it's a pilgrimage for the food. Enjoy !!

I recently went to Oishii for lunch on a weekday and it was great! They have interesting sushi combinations and great service!

Located in strip center on Wycliff off the Dallas North Tollroad. Open for Lunch (11 am to 3pm) and Dinner (5pm to 11pm). Small sushi bar. Nice dining area. It does get crowded and noisy after 7pm. No reservations. Wednesday is 1/2 price on wine. Nice menu of sushi and sashimi. Large menu of Japanese dishes as well as Vietnamese dishes (Pho/Vermicelli soups). Tribeca roll and the spicy tuna roll were good. Service can be hit or miss, especially when they are busy. Complimentary Valet parking. You can try and park further down the center and walk.
Hair in Sushi, Understaffed, Indifferent
The sushi is good, but poor service, understaffed kitchen, and lack of hygiene ruins the experience. We came here on a Saturday night and it took 2.5 hours to complete the dinner for 3 people because they were slow to bring the food out. Brought one roll every half an hour. The last roll had a hair in it. They replaced it, but we had to wait additional time and there was no apology. They treated it like it was normal. We left hungry and dissatisfied. We thought maybe this was an exception, but called next week and were told that this was normal for fridays and saturdays because the restaurant was "really busy." How about getting more people in the kitchen or on the floor? Sorely disappointed. Not worth the money. Used to be a good restaurant, but now they just don't care.
