Favorite Mexican restaurant

By cozumelfan1 |

First meal at Ojeda's in 1971, and still love it. Best salsa ever, but it is hot! Family run by lovely people.

Decent food and service

By sluguy01 |

I had high expectations after reading other reviews for this restaurant, and it was good but not great. The chips and salsa were very good, but my tacos and sides were just ok. My food came very quickly, although they weren't very busy. Waiter was very nice and attentive, though it was hard to understand his english at times.

Quality of Food in Dallas and Plano has gone down

By David D |

For mahy years this restaurant was excellent for mexican food but we recently noticed a big change in all the flavors. The chips tend to be tough and stale. The chicken is very tough in the Sour Cream Enchilada's and there would be no flavor had it not be for the sour cream sauce. The refried beans flavor has also changed. In past years the chilireano was awesome, now they use a different type of pepper and its no longer crispy filled with cheese. They may have had to cut quality for cost purposes but this is a shame. I was really disapppointed by our last two visits. This is not a bad place, its just not the fantastic quality that all of us who live in the area expect. The ladies at the front door are always friendly as the people at checkout and servers.

A Tradition in Mexican Food Dining

By Tommi H |

This is a family owned restaurant, now operated by the grandchildren of the founders. Fresh chips arrive immediately and the salsa, they bring, is on the hot side, but you can ask for the mild. The Fajitas are delicious, as are the sour cream chicken enchiladas. Full bar with pretty strong margaritas, try the lime. This was one of President Clinton's favorite places, when he visited Dallas.

No effort

By Ethan B |

My food was terrible. Not even done and no effort whatsoever. They even left off part of the order. Usually good but not this time. Very disappointed.

Best Mexican Food in Dallas

By Alyssa T |

They have such amazing food. The quality and quantity is excellence. The pricing is not bad either. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Be sure to check them out when in Dallas, Tx.

Quick service and good food

By David D |

Had Chicken enchiladas with corn tortillas. Great choice with lots of chicken and cream sauce. Friend had taco dinner plate with plenty of meat and filling along with filling on side as well. Staff was pleasant and our food was brought very quickly.

Excellent Local Restaurant

By Jon M |

First time here. The reviews are accurate - Ojeda’s is Excellent. They were slammed busy tonight but we got right in and we’re served immediately. The salsa has a little kick to it but very tasty. I had the beef fajitas - with Ribeye steak, beans and rice. The beef was excellent, cooked just right and very tasty. Nice layout and decorated too. Would come back here again for sure

Very Good Food

By Michael M |

Stop in for lunch good food and specails. Plus drink specails also. Fast service and food was hot and tasty too.

Decent tacos

By Laura B |

We were in the mood for Mexican food. The tacos here were good. Nothing special though. They got us right in and chips and salsa were delivered. The place was a little dark and dirty but nothing to be concerned with.

Best TeX-Mex!!!!!

By Val1857 |

The food is awesome and the Margaritas even better!!!!!! This Restaurant has been in this location for many, many years. The food has always been excellent!!!!! When ever I get go to Dallas/FT Worth I go directly to Ojedas from the airport, just to make sure that I get at least 1 meal in while I'm there. Its a must when in Dallas!!!!!!

Tough Review for Me - NOT What it Used to Be!

By Phil S |

Ojeda's is an institution in Dallas. My father took our family when they were located just up Maple in a little corner building. I remember the line out the screen door on the side of the building winding back around the corner to Maple. But never mind the line - the food was mind blowing - even for a kid! Fast forward many years. Moved away from Dallas and visited Ojeda's a few times over that time and always enjoyed meals but definitely noticed a change in quality as the younger members of the family took over. Positives: Ambiance was excellent. Service was good. We were seated quickly and staff worked efficiently to accommodate a large party of 12. Chips, queso and salsa were good to excellent. Guacamole was good, but as others have said in their reviews, needed a little doctoring to flavor up. Negatives: Entrees were sorely underwhelming. Tacos were terrible. We tried to identify what was in the beef taco as it certainly didn't look like beef. Might have been a mixture of ground beef and refried beans but am not sure. Mole sauce had burnt flavor. Enchiladas were bland and in general, spices seemed to be off in just about everything. We talked about sending food back but as we were a large party with several leaving town immediately after lunch, we just didn't have the time to wait for the kitchen to get things right. Folks, it's all about the food. Good service and ambiance is fine but they don't make a great restaurant experience on their own. I'll take great food in less than desirable conditions any day over going through what I experienced at Ojeda's again. A very, very disappointing visit - especially after talking the place up to family members who don't live in Texas. One commented that, "we have better Mexican food in Connecticut." I literally died a little on the inside.

Geat Local Mexican Restaurant

By ross c |

I have visited the restaurant many times for lunch and dinner and always great service and good food. The salsa is homemade and tasty. One of my favorites is the Carne Guisado De Res. They have a full bar and draft beer. Enjoy! Espero que te guste!

Largest pralines ever

By Aubrey L H |

Brisket enchilada's, first time ever eating them. OMGosh, they were good. Rice & Beans have flavor, too. Rita's were very good as well as the salsa's. First time there, so I asked about taking 4 pralines home with us. I was in total shock to the price of each one, but let me tell you the size of each one was the size of your hand. We took them back to hotel for a bedtime snack. Being we are from Texas and now live in the Tulsa area, we do not get pralines up here. Missing them is an understatement. So we LOVED these. Trip back to Okla the next day had a special snack, too.

They called me Papito

By Ralph & Paige |

We had 9 Business Partners from our Ambitvip.com team in our party. We had no idea where to go and decided to check Trip Advisor. We noticed that Ojeda's was less than a mile from the Anatole Hilton. We took 2 vehicles parked in a gated area with a security guard. Don't worry, your car is safe in the lot. Walked in and noticed the place was packed. No wait was a surprise. If you enjoy eating Mexican food, you will enjoy Ojeda's for a very reasonable price. The refried beans were excellent......you know what, just go and you will not be disappointed. After the meal, I notice a procession of hombres. They brought me ice cream to die for. Apparently it was a celebration for a belated birthday. They sang a birthday melody. They called my Papito (daddy) and put a sombrero on my head. We have the picture and we had a good time. Enjoy

Average Vegetarian Food.

By Mayank S |

We were drawn to it due to extremely high ratings and reviews but didn't come out very excited. Restaurant is pretty large and has a old world charm to it. It looked pretty popular spot among all kinds of crowd - Americans, hispanics. But for us, being vegetarians, they only had 2 options, those too didn't taste very great. Most Mexican restaurants are able to customize their dishes, but our server expressed his inability to accommodate any change in dishes by removing meat and converting them into a vegetarian meal. Even the drinks we ordered weren't very good. Hence 2 stars. If you're a vegetarian, my review hold some credibility for you, but for meat lovers, I'd suggest you try it yourself to be a better judge. Reviews from so many people cannot be wrong.

All-time Favorite Mexican Food

By Tim S |

Having moved away from Texas one of the things I miss the most is good Mexican food. There never has been a better place in Dallas, and it's still every bit as good. I've always considered good mole as the litmus test for good Mexican and Ojeda's mole is my favorite. Chili relleno, tamales, and puffed tacos are great. The Skinny Margaritas are tasty too! Affordable, good for large groups (we walked in at 6:30 with a party of 7 and were seated immediately). Service is great. A bit noisy and the decor is kitschy, but it's exactly what you'd expect at the best Mexican restaurant in town. The neighborhood can be a little rough but they have well lit and patrolled parking.

Outstanding!!

By Gina M |

This was a return trip for me and part of our business group, first time for my husband. We traveled here from out of town for a company event and just had to come back. The service is outstanding. Salsa AMAZING! The hot is in fact hot- which we LOVED, mild available too. Although I did not have a puffy taco others did. They looked fun and I heard delicious! Margaritas very good as well.

Great service

By emilio_tx |

I was their over the weekend with my family, I've been to this specific location several times. Always great service, I love their food that's why we've been back. This past time, though, the food wasn't all that great and I left very upset. I had the grilled chicken breast, rice & beans. Maybe I'll just stick to the dish I normally have. Overall, I've almost always have had a great experience.

Great Mexican

By TTexasTom |

Went here on recommendation of friend. Not disappointed. Nothing fancy, typical looking Mexican food place. But food was well above typical. Wide selection, you can find what you want. Hot sauce with chips has a little kick to it, which I love, not the watered down picante you get at most places. Everything was fresh. Great margaritas to boot!!!

Nice Tex Mex

By stephrab |

Nice Tex Mex place. Good service. Good food. Great fresh chips and salsa. Good vegie fajita. I would not go out of my way but it was a good value.

Great place to hang out with friends

By Tracee P |

I have been here several times for after-work socializing. The wait staff is always very accommodating for last minute get-togethers for large groups. Service is great. Food is good. Drinks are great. Great experience.

Always good!

By dwill11 |

I have been eating at Ojeda's for the past 41 years and the food is always good, hot and ready in no time. And the hot sauce is the best!

Best salsa in Dallas!

By _RT_TX_Travels |

We love Ojeda's and go almost weekly :). Great service, traditional Tex-Mex food, good margaritas and of course, the BEST salsa in Dallas. Yum!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Average Food. Horrible Service

By ddmullis |

The bottom line is average to below average food. The service was horrible. Details below When you arrive you will see steel bars on the windows and doors. They have multiple dining rooms to accommodate large parties. The complimentary chips and salsa was ok. I ordered chicken fajitas and was told the only difference between the standard fajitas vs the enhanced fajitas was enhanced had tomatoes and served on a sizzling plate When I got my fajitas I quickly realized I had made a big mistake. The food was warm and not hot. The peppers and onions were a mush and appeared to be boiled. In addition they too had tomatoes which I dislike very much The server never checked on me to see if there was anything I needed. At the end of the meal I finally got a refill on my drink

Tex-Mex at it's best!

By Gisela S |

We no longer live in Texas but when we get back to Dallas we always make a beeline to Ojeda's! We've been there for lunch twice in the last week. We always start out with the chips and salsa. The perfect flavor and not so hot it burns the tastebuds off your tongue. My husband always orders #3 the puffed taco and I usually order the Chile Relleno. Yesterday I ordered the steak fajitas and WOW! Outstanding! The rice and beans here are also the best anywhere.

Excellent Authentic Mexican

By ddmullis |

For a local authentic Mexican restaurant this is an excellent choice. The steak fajitas were outstanding. The refried beans were the best I have ever eaten. The service was outstanding

Good salsa and TexMex

By czmdivenut |

Really good salsa and if you are into TexMex good food. Personnally prefer REAL Mexican and there is some on the menu but the biggest chunk is pure Tex Mex and they do it well.

Exceeds expectations

By Mojo Sellers |

GREAT food Fajitas we're moist and flavorful. We ordered fajitas for two, and it was enough to feed our two daughters as well. The rice and beans are dynamite! The sides for the fajitas are generous. The puffy taco meat was generous and flavorful. The enchiladas, red and green, were also very tasty. The chips and salsa are good enough to be a meal, they're so good! We received basket after basket of fresh warm chips. The queso and guacamole were very delicious as well. Fresh, fun atmosphere, friendly wait staff, and a winner for large parties. We saw lots of regulars, and if we lived here, it would be our regular hot spot too.

Three Generations and still Going!

By Bill R |

You know you are in the right spot when you get there early on an evening and most of the clientele are local folks. That is a good sign! Been eating here for the last 45 years since they first opened and the consistency of the food is supreme! Totally Tex-Mex, not your over-the-top items you might see in New Mexico or California. The salsa is out of this world and the tortillas in the enchiladas are so tender and tasty that they make it all go round! I drive 45 minutes each way every 2 weeks for this food and will continue to do so!

Pricey for lunch

By BrussoDallas |

Ojeda's lunch menu is limited only 5 combo's to chose from or enchilada's. They offer the full menu during lunch but you're going to pay for it. I ordered the Old Fashioned Tacos (which were awesome!) but for taco's & a drink (before tip) it was $13.00. Our table also ordered a "large" bowl of queso, which wasn't very good & was the size of a cup at most other tex-mex restaurants.

Best Mexican Food in Dallas

By Heather R |

Love, love, love Ojeda's! This family-owned and operated establishment serves some of the best Mexican food to speak of. They use real cheese products and you can taste the difference. Skinny margaritas are also top quality and so delicious (but be careful because they don't skimp on the tequila!) The service is always spot on as well. Can't say much that I don't like about this restaurant.

Great food service and atmosphere

By LTtracy |

We had a larger party that we reserved a table for and got in a but early but was completely ready for us and was ready to serve us. The food and service was excellent. the atmosphere was very nice. We had a wonderful time. Only problem I found was parking. It's very limited but there was a parking lot patrol on site that directed traffic. We even talked to him awhile and he was extremely nice. Told us about the history of the business and even told us about some of his favorite dishes. Had a great time and I'll visit again.

Lovely family owned place..greay authentic food

By Nikki B |

We always try to find locally owned places to eat on our travels & this was a great find.food delicious, frozen ritas v nice. Friendly staff who explained some items on menu. Owners & staff care about this place & customers. Recommend a visit

Cozy Ojeda's Comfort Tex Mex

By Marilyn G |

Ojeda's offers all the traditional Tex Mex favorites in a cozy, comfortable atmosphere where the music is at a decent level to be pleasant while you can carry on a quiet conversation, especially in a cozy booth. The food is traditional, filling, spicy enough but hotter sauces are freely available for the daring. The cheerful indoor lighting and decor are nice. Wait staff are attentive, responsive to any questions or needs, savvy enough to catch drink refill needs without being intrusive. Locally popular. Great parking.

Excellent Dallas Tex-Mex Icon

By Sam B |

Ojeda's is the classic Dallas Tex-Mex restaurant, been around forever and pleases every time. From tacos, enchiladas, chile rellenos, tortilla soup to sizzling fajitas and fresh guacamole and fine chicken mole, it won't disappoint. Check it out, you'll be glad you did. Oh, don't forget to get a Margarita, I prefer the frozen but on the rocks are awesome too, with salt, but that's just me.

A Favorite amongst Locals and Travelers

Family owned, Authentic Cuisine for everyone of all ages to enjoy no matter what time of day. It's our go to place whenever visiting in Dallas over the past 25 years.

Authentic Mexican Food

By Fernando P |

We were in Dallas for the Cowboys vs the Rams game. On Saturday evening, we were about a mile away from our hotel to this restaurant. We had the house margarita & guacamole plate for appetizers. The margarita was delicious and not too heavy on tequila. Their tortilla chips are the extra thin ones and are served warm. Plus they leave the large container of hot sauce on the table and keep bringing chips. My wife had the beef enchiladas and I had the carne guisada. The enchiladas were freshly made and the enchilada sauce was mild and tasty. I usually get heartburns afterwards but not with this enchiladas. My plate was outstanding because the meat was very tender and the potatoes were not over cooked. This means they add the potatoes just before it’s throughly cooked. This maneuver avoids the meat to get the starch from the potatoes and the meat sauce isn’t hick with starch. A special treat was the grilled jalapeño on top of the plate. I ate it and it was hot but not explosive. These plates came with 6 flour tortillas which were more than generous. If you’re ever by the Dallas Market Center, Ojeada’s is about a mile away.

Strong margaritas and spicy salsa

By Christy R |

They have wonderful margaritas and very hot salsa! We ordered chicken fajitas which were very good. Very fast service too.

loyal customer for 25 years !

By Rita K |

I love this place! Ojeda's makes the best sour cream enchiladas ... No other place can match them. They make the cream sauce the right way from the start. Hummmm!

Burritos and Salsa with a Bang!

By drillsgtwife |

The chips and salsa with a fiery kick were quite the surprise to begin, my venture. I like hot and this was hot with a bang. The beef and bean burritos were very flavorful. The ambiance was nice and the servers were pleasant. A little different than the usual Mexican style food to which I've been accustomed. A real Tex-Mex flair. I think I could get quite used to this. Please visit while in Dallas!

I hope it's an isolated issue

By ctzgtomx |

I want to this restaurant for lunch. It's usually pretty good. However, the basics were overlooked this time. The tortillas served with my meal were very old. So when they brought them over they because stale once they went from hot to warm to room temperature. I've been here before and it's been really good. I hope this was an isolated issue. I would come back for another chance

Excellent Friday night spot

By B C |

A group of 6-8 typically go to ojeda's on Friday night. We always ask for Maria as she is a fantastic server! The food and margaritas are excellent here, not to mention the scenery.

No thanks

By Scipiotrout |

I was told to go here for an authentic dallas Mexican spot. The fajitas were awful Dry old chicken and beef then Warmed up Chips stale This is not good tex mex.

COVID Loss for Dine-In

By Lee C |

"Let's hope this is temporary" said my companion. Both of us have dined here for decades, enjoyed leisurely off-hours lunches and dinners. Sadly, COVID has defeated them a bit. Missing the bustle and aromas, it was dark, rushed and sub par. The typical botanas platter was lukewarm, the fillings all the same sawdust. No longer handpulled spiced chicken or warm queso (we had to ask for the queso). No familiar (and senior) experienced waitstaff, too few shared by too many. Takeout seemed together, but sadly if tgey're sending that tinned pollo out, it won't be the same. We love Ojeda's and look forward to continuing to be supportive. But not for now.

Didn’t have anything worth

By Gary H |

Didn’t have anything worth going back for...cheese enchiladas were mediocre and taco meat was greasy and in appetizing. I will not return,

A fantastic family owned place to eat

By Alan P |

Ojeda's has a few different locations in the greater Dallas area, but this one is the original Ojeda's and you can tell the difference. The hominess and atmosphere of this restaurant is only excelled by the authentic flavor of this home cooked Mexican food.

Consistant!

By patrick m |

Ojeda's is a go to Mexican for restaurant for me. The food is always good and the hot sause is great as well. At lunch you can get in and out in 30 nin. if you wish

Try the Puffy Tacos

By Mary M |

My 2 best friends and I visit Dallas every October for a girls' trip. Our first visit to Ojeta's was in October of 2014 upon recommendation of the desk clerk at a nearby hotel. We enjoyed it so much, we made plans to visit again this year when we were in Dallas. We went to the location on Maple on a Monday evening. The neighborhood is a little sketch, but there was a security guard in the parking lot who was escorting visitors into the restaurant and watching the cars parked in the lot. The Happy Hour special for Mondays is $2 off any Margarita. I had a small top shelf Margarita with no salt. It was plenty strong, and tasty. We snacked on complimentary chips and salsa while waiting for our meals. At first taste, the salsa has a slightly sweet flavor, but is quite hot and burns the throat once swallowed, so proceed with caution. They do have a milder salsa if you ask for it. I liked a 50/50 mix of the original salsa and the milder salsa. For dinner, I ordered the Monday special -- a puffy taco, a cheese enchilada, and rice for $6.99 (I paid an extra dollar for queso on my cheese enchilada, making my meal $7.99, and it was well worth the extra charge). The food arrived quickly and was piping hot. I had never tried a puffy taco before and was pleasantly surprised! I thought it would be softer and more bready, but the puffy shell is crisp and delicate. Then they punch a hole in the top of the puffy shell and fill it with seasoned ground beef, beans, lettuce/tomato and cheese. It is sort of like a small taco salad, only more flavorful. It was absolutely delicious and I really enjoyed it! The cheese enchilada was also very good. The rice was fluffy and was the perfect accompaniment to the puffy taco and enchilada. Service was fast, and our server was patient with our indecision as we slowly pored over the extensive menu. We enjoyed Ojeta's so much, we are already planning to visit again next October when we return to Dallas for our annual girls' weekend.

Menudo is served on Sunday's'!

By Riojas2014 |

Busy place & quick service. It wasn't on the menu, so inquired with Waiter about Menudo & they serve it on Sunday's, Chips & salsa were good too.

Good pricing

By chef_spike13 |

This place has good pricing for the quantity of food u get. It's very reasonable $11 for Enchaladas meal. Not a super busy place for a Tuesday night

Eh?

By Costariccense V |

Well, we were served re-heated and greasy food and the staff was all tired or hung over. Should have expected that from the date (day after New Year's). The salsa was amazing, the waiter disappeared and after 45 minutes waiting for our check, we just left $5 tip and walked out. No kidding. It was sludgey and lardy and heavy. Needs some innovation.

Fairly Average Mexican Restaurant

By slhokie |

The place is popular but I did not have any trouble getting a table. The decor is cozy and nice. The service was slow in taking the order but brisk in serving the food. I had a margarita which was below average. The dinner consisted of tamales and a beef enchilada with rice and beans. It was ok but hardly different from other Mexican restaurants.

Very yummy!

By Beth H |

First, the salsa is excellent! Very good flavor, a little smokey, kinda spicy but really good. I got the brisket tacos and the serving was hugh. My husband and i could have split the pkate, albeit he is not a big eater. The brisket tacos meat was very good and the beans were not the regular refried ones, which I'm not crazy about, but were whole beans in a bowl. Will definitely come here when I in dallas again!!!

my first time back here in 10 years and everything was as good as i remembered

By BostonJaime |

i have been eating at Ojeda's for almost 40 years but moved to New England and hadn't been back in 10 years. Everything was the way i remembered it. the atmosphere, the service, and especially the food. People who live in Dallas are always looking for the newest and most chic mexican restaurant but they always come back to Ojeda's. this is classic tex mex. my litmus test for a good mexican meal is green enchiladas and Ojeda's always does it right. lots of chicken, homemade tortillas, spicy green sauce. Excellente!

Delicious indulgence

By Steve D |

I try not to go as often as I do, but I just can't stay away. The enchiladas de fajita are my favorite and the puffed tacos are incredible. Service is always quick and friendly.

GREAT FOOD NEAR LOVE FIELD

By TOMMUR |

My wife and I stayed at a hotel near Love Field and ate at O'jeda's on Maple Ave.. We have eaten at the store in Plano but the selection and quality was better than Plano. My wife had a fish plate and she said it was one of the best she ever had. I had the Mexican dinner and it was very good also. If you are flying from Love this is a great choice for Mexican food.

Relaxed Atmosphere With Amazing Food

By raymichael |

Casual atmosphere with delicious Mexican food! I absolutely love this place. At first we were hesitant to come here because the surrounding neighborhood looks sketchy, however, after living in this area and grocery shopping nearby, we came to love it! It's very casual! It's also huge inside! Very friendly wait staff. Mixed group of people inside dining. Prices are awesome for downtown. Order the Tacos De Fajita in chicken. Soooooo good! Oh, and the star of this place is the salsa that you self serve at the table. They even sell it in jars to go!

Very good Tex-Mex

By Norjeff2 |

Colleague picked out this place for the 7 of us to go. I asked the waiter what is their best dish and he said he liked the enchilada fajita. It was very good. Came with rice and beans. Friend had the fajitas and loved them. Like most, we were given chips and salsa to start. Restaurant is huge and can handle parties. Service was very good. Definitely worth a trip. Prices were typical for the area.

Great Food and Memorable

By Tomas P |

Such a homey and amazing look for the Mexican culture. The restaurant upholds its traditions and surpasses others! The food is delicious as well!

Average Mexican Food

By annagevor |

The Food was average, the staff was friendly, they have live music on Thursday and great happy hour deals. If you do not need to count the calories and need good comforting food this is the place to go. The chips and salsa come free and the margaritas are good. The Food comes on time on week nights, not sure about the weekend. I have seen a line form outside on weekend. I recommend this place for lunch, dinner. Good for couples and families. Although I've seen many singles dining there as well.

Good Lunch

By James C |

Wife, Daughter, and myself had lunch and found they were good but not great. We don't live in Dallas but like to make this stop when we are here. It was the same on our last visit. I think they were better several years back. Service was very good. Will probably be back.

Absolutely yummy!

By stonesbutterfly |

A friend and I had a workshop close by and decided to try it. We ordered beef fajitas for two with corn tortillas and we had enough for 4. They were some of the best I've ever had. I didn't get one bite that wasn't tender and appropriately seasoned. The tortillas were warm and yummy and the guacamole.....was fantastic! The salsa was a bit spicy but I loved it too. I live quite a ways from this location but I will find an excuse to go back:) It seemed like it would be a fun place to go for dinner and drinks too. The waitress was very fast and efficient with exactly what we needed almost before we asked. Great place!

Fantastic!

By Lee M |

This is a beautifully decorated Tex-Mex restaurant. My server was Ismael and he was great! Super prompt and very friendly. I was undecided on which enchilada dish to get and he suggested I get the Mole. It was DELICIOUS!!!!!!! I’m definitely coming back here again when I’m in Dallas for business again!

There's a reason it's been here forever.

By 394willh |

This isn't a big chain; it's not a pop-up. This is a long-standing local eatery that has solid, gimmick-free Tex-Mex food. Not chi-chi or trendy, just a comfortable atmosphere and food that gets right to the point. Satisfying and solid.

Ugh...much better choices in town

By Jill C |

We went to Ojeda's because of the reviews on TA. Not sure some of the reviewers have actually had good Mexican food. Best salsa in Dallas? Not hardly. The "hot" salsa is some strange combination of tomatoes and a lot of vinegar. The house margaritas were watered down and the top shelf was so bad that I couldn't drink it. We ordered enchiladas and fajita tacos. The fajitas were too cool to eat so we sent them back. Guacamole and sour cream come in a snazzy plastic cup, pre-made. Very disappointed.

Ojedas Restaurant in Dallas & Plano TX

By Carla D |

My husband and I have been dining here for over 40 years. It’s by far one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants around. Each time we try another Mexican restaurant, we are very disappointed and wish we would have order Ojedas. The food at Ojedas is very consistent, good every time. If you dislike the food here, stick with your mashed potatoes and chicken!

Always good food, but absolutely wonderful people

By Kerri H |

As a former Dallas resident living in Maryland, I always hit up Ojedas when I'm back in town. This past trip, I inadvertently left my wallet there and didn't discover it was missing until the next day at the airport. We called and sure enough someone had turned it in and I rushed in a taxi from Love Field to retrieve it. Everything was there including most importantly my ID but also all my cards. My mom had given me some cash and it was ALL there. I've always thought it was a great place for no frills TexMex but now I KNOW it is something more--a place where some of the best people work! Thank you!!

Market Center Find

By Susan H |

We have been going to an event in Dallas for over 10 years and just found this. Dang! Loved the Enchiladas de Fajitas and the margs. Also loved the waiters in the heavy white starched shirts. Extra touch is the neon sign for the restroom hall entrance. We will be back!

Disappointing

By Jessica A |

I had heard great things about Ojeda's. I have had friends and colleagues rave. Overall, my food was excellent, but the service was very slow.

Best Tex Mex

By Travokie |

Been eating at Ojeda's for many years. The consistancy is outstanding.I prefer the Maple location. Can't wait to go back.

Top notch Tex Mex

By BigGuyfromDallas |

Ojeda's has been in Dallas for quite awhile and still has a good following. We went on a Thursday night and it was about 3/4 filled at 7:15 pm. The noise factor from people talking makes it a bit hard to hear table talk. Small price to pay for very good Tex-Mex. Cannot go wrong with the Enchilada Plate. The salsa has some heat to it, which I like. For 3 people who had a beer with their dinner, it was $43. I like that it also has a large parking lot.

Good, reliable Tex-Mex

By WeirdHarold |

We've eaten at Ojeda's since it's modest beginning 40 years ago. There are now several locations and it's much larger and the menu more elaborate but the food is still outstanding, as is the excellent service. For lunch, my wife and I shared the large chalupa plate, which was more than enough for us two old folks. My wife loves flan. She pronounced it better than average, though not as good as the best in Mexico. Ojeda's is definitely on our list for a Tex-Mex fix.

Dinner at ojedas

We had a great time at ojedas. The melt down margarita is great. A little pricey at 13.50 but a good drink. After 2 Of those you start telling the truth😊 we call them the truth serum. The food is true Tex-Mex A good Tex-Mex place to go

Still got it!

It has been a long time since I dined at Ojeda's simply because it's location had changed and there is a bit of distance between it and our condo. However, while driving to Dallas from our home in Spring Branch, we were considering where to eat when it popped into my mind that Ojeda's was on the way and we had not been to the new location. First, let me say that the new location is much roomier and spacious than the old one. The ambience is really improved. My wife and I don't eat as much as we used to and seeing that the plate of nachos was pretty large, we asked the waiter if we could order a plate of Tacos al Carbon with a side order of corn tortillas for my wife and we would split the order. He was extremely accomodating and the split order was more than enough for the two of us. The fajitas were juicy and delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and left sated. We highly recommend Ojeda's for good Mexican food, friendly service, and great atmosphere.

A true Tex-Mex gem

By Lori H |

First off, let's be honest not all Ojeda locations are the same.. skip all of the other ones and go to the one on Maple Ave. You will not be disappointed, I have taken friends and clients there over the years and each and every time they return they ask to go back. The atmosphere is casual and laid back, the pricing the same. I am either a chicken enchilada with verde sauce or any of the fajita combinations. You will not be disappointed. Just make sure you go to the Maple Ave location, I'm not sure why it is different than the other locations but is it.

Catering 5 Stars

Ojeda's recently catered our staff appreciation dinner! The staff and servers were exceptional along with the food and margaritas! We will definitely be ordering again! Great JOB Ojeda's Dallas !!

First date dinner

By Jose |

The salsa was la little spicy but I don't eat spicy food so it might be fine for everyone else. I had cheese enchilada dinner and she had the flaunted dinner. She drank the regular margarita in the rocks and I had the strawberry frozen margarita. Everything was pretty good overall with great service and atmosphere.

Above all the rest, the BEST

Have eaten here for almost 30 years. Always a GREAT meal and dining experience. We return each time we are in Dallas for yet another delightful meal

Great Mexican - Worth the Visit

By Critique61 |

We were deciding between this restaurant and another in Dallas. We chose this one after reading TripAdvisor reviews. Location may not be in the best area, but do not let that stop you. Parking and the visit was very easy. It was very crowded, yet we were taken to our table without delay. The server was very attentive and quick to take care of whatever we needed. Drinks were great and the food was outstanding. Everyone in our party commented on how good everything was. Believe the reviews!!!

Best Guacamole and Salsa in Dallas

By Dr H |

For 20+ years we have enjoyed the tasty food here. ALL items have great flavor, even something as mundane as refritos. The staff remembers you and makes it like a home experience. Quantities are more than adequate, each item is delicious, everything in the restaurant is very clean. The puffed chicken tacos are incomparable with the marinated chicken. A place to relax and ENJOY the dining experience...

Great food, great price and great service!

By Yvan G |

I went for supper at Ojeda's restaurant on Maple Ave in Dallas with a work colleague. We both had the Ojeda's Dinner and a cold beer. The food was excellent and even though I tried as hard as I could, I could not finish it all. The place is nice and the service was excellent. It was my first time but I will definetely be back!

Always consistently delicious!

When i come back to visit Dallas, and want true family style tex-mex. I come here. Nothing fancy about this place but the food is fantastic. Its basic good quality tex mex comfort food!!!

Wonderful good food and even better for the price you pay. The best margaritas we have had in a long time. Would totally recommend for authentic Mexican food.

best melt down RITA i have ever had

By Cowtownm |

family owned, 5 star service !!! they treat you as family NO NO attitude.. best met down margarita I have ever had two is the max.. 3 is too much great food.

Average Mexican food, Above Average Margaritas!

By Texasfruit |

The food seemed to be pre-made, and it was sorta bland. This place used to be soooo much better. However, this place has a very good Margarita! If you're meeting friends for a drink, head here, but for Mexican food maybe try another place. Cost was reasonable, service was fast, just not as tasty as I had hoped.

Solid Tex-Mex

By CharlieinTexas |

Great chips! Really good cheese enchilada and beef tamale. Okay chicken enchilada and migas. Good coffee. Nice, typical/traditional Tex-Mex venue. Orange juice not good — couldn’t tell it was orange juice.

Poor food quality

By Regina H |

My family and I decided we wanted some authenic Mexican that close by in the area. So we looked at the menu at home online and decided to call the order in. Afterward was told food be ready in ten minutes which I live maybe no more than 3 minutes. So went got the food and went straight home. The food wasn’t hot nor authentic. The taco was soft supposed to be hard. The enchiladas was straight chili and the hamburger meat look and taste like it was processed. The nachos was horrible. If I knew they served this type of food I wouldn’t waste my money or time. My first and last time eating there.

Great food

Delicious Tex Mex food. Salsa and chips excellent. Service was great. Highly encourage you to try. It was a little hard to find

Great meal and great margaritas! Food was super quick and hot and so much of it. Great overall experience.

Early dinner, quick service, okay food

By Texmarc |

As an out-of-towner, this was only my second experience at Ojeda's, my first being a solo lunch many months back. This visit my wife and I were staying at a near by hotel and this was near by and easy to get to. The restaurant was nearly empty being a Friday afternoon, but not unusual for such an early hour. We both ordered the beef tacos al carbon and drinks. The chips and salsa was very tasty although we didn't have a lot of time to enjoy them since our order came out quickly. The entrees were somewhat different from what we are accustomed to and lacked some of the sides we are usually served such as guacamole and sour cream, but that's fine, we should have asked how it was served. The beef was closer to fajita than the charred steak we are also use to, again it's not our accustomed place. The meal was fine although not outstanding or memorable. There are many good Mexican places in Dallas (another good one is the little place about a block up the street, but it was a bit too "local" for my wife's comfort...it is highly recommended) and next time we will probably be back, if we need something close, fast and wife approved.

Still the Same after All These Years (except the prices)

By Craigh-KRPH |

First time back to Ojeda's since 1989. When I worked in the area it was a weekly stop. The enchilada dinner has increased several times in price, but it is still just as tasty. Service was quick and excellent as always. Some things never change - and that is good in this case!

I should have left based on the salsa alone

By Spertronic |

I ate here during a business trip to Dallas and the food was horrible. I have had better Mexican food at a Hilton Doubletree in New Jersey, no kidding. The chips and salsa were a warning. The salsa tasted like spicy ketchup, an ominous sign. I was tired so I stayed and ordered "Sizzling Chicken Fajitas." The meal was sub par. Chicken was clearly previously grilled and just sliced and heated. Served with meager rice and beans and sad guac. I asked for a different salsa and was told that was all they had. They asked me if it was too spicy and I laughed. Avoid this place.

Great atmosphere, poor service

By krayas |

The food was great! However, my enchilada plate did not include rice or beans, they were add ons.. it was during happy hour, but since it was Friday, they did not have happy hour. Our waitress seemed to have forgotten about us....Good place to go if you only care about food taste and relaxing atmosphere ...not a good place to visit if you care about price and customer service.

Great Mexican Food!

By Timothy K |

I come from Massachusetts, so the concept of Mexican food is merely just a re-imagination of the actual thing. We have a lot of good food in Massachusetts, but Mexican food may not be the best. Enter Ojeda's, I was introduced to the place during my short three day visit to a small town in the middle of Texas called 'Dallas.' No, actually, Dallas was a pretty happening place. And Ojeda's is a part of it I want to visit again. So back to the restaurant. It was recommended to me by my close colleague, a Massachusetts transplant who also digs good hipster IPA beer and a cozy dive bar. Ojeda's was located farther from the city center, but being a serious ethnic food place, is the reason for it's success. You will not find Mexican food like this in some cookie cutter restaurant, you are going to find it where the culture of a neighborhood is more important than the dollar bills going to gentrify it. I arrived hungry, but knowledgeable about the aspect of eating on a hungry stomach. I sat at a table, with four other friends who were sharing in the cuisine before us. The menu was diverse, with a lot of options that had more description and depth than a Mexican food joint in Massachusetts. I ordered the Carne Asada. In terms of presentation and its food, it almost seemed similar to cookie cutter restaurants, but the taste of the food was different. It was not just the hunger being the best spice, but the food consisting of such a pureness, as if you could taste elements from the soil the food originated from. Mexican food establishments in Massachusetts might have a signature after-taste, or some difference to their overall food theme, maybe their salsa has a little more pico de gallo, maybe the refried beans are made in a different way. In Ojeda's, every different portion of the meal was unique. This was true food. Other mentionables include the birthday celebrations that popped up around our table like everyone decided to have their birthday there. The servers sing for the birthday person, they get to wear a giant stereotypical mariachi hat, and the birthday dessert is a freshly fried churro. While I loved this place for what it was, if you have serious allergies, it may not be the best. Fluency in Spanish might be able to help, but the love of food comes from the purity of the food, and not the substitutions. I'd try the Carne Asada. I look forward to coming back hear when I visit again!

Par at best, but depends on your expectations

By Mocha C |

I am writing a two because after living here three years and being a Mexican food connoisseur, I find the price/value is at that level. While this is not an expensive venue it is certainly not inexpensive particularly for the quality of the food. Some of the food I could make at home if you understand that some dishes can be made with the same ingredients you can buy at Kroger for cheaper. Culinary arts, flavorful food, and great presentation is a hallmark of Dallas cuisine. I do have an expectation for Mexican food in the area and I do not feel it is worthy for the price. At $10-$15 per entree (dinner pricing) I feel this place would earn a three star rating if it were $2-3 cheaper. Prices command quality and that's my main message. Certainly I have had worse Mexican dining experience but I am better off buying flour tortillas, cheese, sour cream, and chicken and stay at home Friday night. If you are okay with mediocre than you will be just fine. The atmosphere is tacky fun and I have friends who request we come here so I return every so often. They will do the regular birthday song for a friend and they certainly keep the margaritas flowing. I think those are the best value in the joint. I would give them a 4 star for size, pricing, strength (be careful how many you consume, if you must drive). :) I wish the salsa was not served in a maple syrup jar at room temperature and was not so runny. After a few margaritas I usually don't pay attention anyway. Enjoy!

Good margarita plentiful brisket

By Cynthia U |

we went down to Maple to see what was going on at Ojedas. As it was a Friday it was quite busy with birthday parties and after work celebrations. unfortunately the first bowl of chips was not good so we asked for another one which was better. the "regular" salsa is extremely hot ( Santa Fe hot) even mild is plenty hot. the margarita was good and a small was big enough. the brisket nachos were so generous i took loads home

Not great

By Carolinsf |

Big, popular place in Dallas - many Mexican people eating here. Kid friendly. We chose this based on TA reviews. We have to disagree about its ratings as being good. First, terrible margarita! tasted like a limeade drink. No tequila evident. we asked for more tequila in the second drink - it was horrible. Food average - nothing to write home about. Wish we'd gone elsewhere.

GREAT TEX-MEX

EVERY THING IS GOOD...ESPECIALLY THE MARGARITAS!!! I enjoy the enchiladas. The tacos are excellent as well. You will enjoy Ojeda's.

Nothing Special

If you just want some texish mexish go ahead on. If you want some really good Mexican try somewhere else. It's not bad, it's just nothing special. Taco Bueno with a twinkly lights.

Great food!

By dwill11 |

I have been eating ojedas since I was a baby and that’s a long time ago. The got sauce is the best! Really hot with a great flavor. The food comes out quick and always tastes great.

If ever back in Dallas I will choose this restaurant everytime for one meal.

By Darla A |

We order one Spinach enchiladas with out chicken, one with, one with avocados, one Chicken with sour cream....it was all wonderful food. The hot sauce was the best I have ever had...but it was a bit to hot for my taste. I love....love ....love that they had a bottle of their hot sauce on the table that you can refill as you need and do not have to keep asking for it. The Waite staff was very good...they were very busy, and yet he did not forget us. Our food was prepared just as we order, delivered at bit late but they were really busy and the place was bigger than it looks on the inside.

Good food.

By bodhi0916 |

Went with a group of 6. The food was good ... pretty authentic Mexican compared to other Mexican food we have had in Texas which is often more Texas Mex. The chicken tortilla soup was awesome. I have had better sour cream enchiladas in Fort Worth but they were good. Many of the meals were huge portions. Service was good not outstanding. Worth it for lunch for sure!!

Long Time Customer

By H Ralph H |

I first went to Ojedas in the summer of 1973, it began in 1969 four years earlier. Mama and Papa Ojeda were the founders and proprietors. It is my favorite Mexican cafe for lunch and dinner. It became popular and it moved and expanded down the street from the original store on Maple. This helped the lines out the door and the limited number of seats. Mama and Papa are now gone, but the family has kept it going all these years. Since then, my wife and I eat there regularly as well as my children and their families. The speed that they deliver your drinks and food amaze me. The chips are always hot and fresh and the salsa is spicy the way I like it. My wife requests the mild salsa. Our favorite dishes vary and we have enjoyed the majority of menu items. The enchiladas are one of my favorites but I ask for chopped onions on them....and they are hearty and savory. The puffed beef tacos are also delicious, hot and crispy. If you want something light, the shredded chicken taco salad is fantastic. My wife likes the tacos and the fajita dishes. The refried beans are cooked with ham and are magnificent. During COVID we ordered through Uber Eats. As in any delivery, the food is usually not as warm....but still good. Since then we have returned to the restaurant for lunch and dinner at least once a week but not unusual for twice a week. Sure over the years,we have had some blips in service and food, but always minor. The waiters and waitresses have been long term with very little turnover which says a lot for a business.

Awesome margaritas

By styxnpucks |

Have been here a few times and have not been disappointed with anything I’ve had. The margaritas are fantastic.

Nice Popular Restaurant

By davidfW9546PB |

Mid week night dinner here and it was busy. It is definitely a popular place. My wife and I ate here with our daughter and young granddaughter. We were in town more a medical appointment the next day. Ojeda's was close to the hotel and my daughter wanted Mexican food. It worked out well. The food and service was good. The restaurant is clean and a little crowded. I had the combination Nachos. It was a little different than I expected. They were good just different. If going back I think I would try something else. No complaints just different. This is a nice restaurant that is very popular. It is worth another visit. I recommend Ojeda's.

Saturday dinner

By Suzrich6455 |

Arrived about 5:45 pm on a beautiful Saturday night in early March. Got a table on the patio, which faces west for a beautiful sunset. Parking lot is monitored by a security guard, a nice touch. Chips and salsa come fast. Margaritas were very good. The chicken taco salad was 3/4 chicken with a topping of lettuce! That is really different from most places which have lots of lettuce and little chicken. My husband had a tamale,(very good), chicken enchilada and beans. The food was very good value and good taste. My only complaint is NO pork carnitas, no pork at all. This is minor since what they offer is delicious.

Just Tex Mex

By Elaine & John |

Had dinner here. It was ok. Nothing to write home about. Looked clean. Margaritas were ok. Small quesadilla. Taco salad bland. Hot sauce sweet. Service great. Maybe great for some but not deliciouse. We all have different taste. I just like my Mexican Food Spicy. They did have neat lights stringed up on the ceiling. My husband liked the Mexican candy. I will probably not return unless it's the only place open.

Good Food, Popular Spot

By Exroadie |

Ojeda's Restaurant, located on Maple Avenue in Dallas, has an extensive menu and just about everything on it is good. Popular with locals, the restaurant can be very busy at times but the food is worth any wait you may have for a table. Not the nicest part of town but a visit to Ojeda's is worth the drive.

Very good quality Mexican

By Todd S |

Good spot! Loved the home made queso. Had the sizzling fajitas which were ok, the enchiladas are way better. Loved the cinnamon pastry thing for dessert!

Standard food

By Aud7oaks |

Pretty middle of the road Mexican food. I had brisket tacos (poblanos were under cooked and tortillas were store bought). Rice was a little salty. Good drinks and guacamole.

Best TexMex In The World!

By TheBestReviews |

You can’t find better TexMex anywhere! Puffed Tacos, cheese enchiladas, Ojeda’s special double-refried beans, and amazing tart and spicy hot sauce. This longtime family restaurant has served presidents and locals alike!

Magnifico!

By Beachluvinfamily |

Reasonably priced lunch specials, friendly staff and as good as any Tex-Mex food that I have ever had. I'm not local so this was better than what is available in my home state. I recommend! Enjoy!

Best Mexican food in Dallas

By dovetaildave |

I've lived here for almost 40 years and the one place I can take people that want the best Mexican food in Dallas is Ojeda's. Consistently great service, fast delivery of everything you order. The wait staff will wait on any table they happen to be walking by, even if it's not their table. You can often see limosines and

Sooooo much food!

By vicknich |

The chips and salsa while still addictive were not my favorite as far as taste, but the chips were warm and I liked that everyone gets there own small dipping bowl( no double dipper worries!) The guacamole was bland and we had to season it ourselves! The top shelf Margaritas were tasty and strong, the mango was sweet and came in a frosted glass! The presentation of the platters was appetizing. My chicken came soaked in the mole which was just a tad spicier than I usually have but really good. The chicken was moist and tender. The enchiladas were stuffed and everyone had plenty of food leftover! The employees were very pleasant and service was good!

old-style Tex-Mex

By John Focht |

I have eaten at this restaurant at least six times, evenly split between lunch and supper. Food is good - traditional Tex-Mex, refried beans, Spanish rice, and all. The salsa is spicy, but pretty loaded with vinegar, and is definitely not the best. Staff is polite, but not the most attentive. Pricing is okay, but not cheap.

Best Tex-Mex I have ever eaten!

By Geo H |

I had not been to Ojeda's for many years, since I moved out of Dallas County. It has gotten nothing but better. Sublime beef enchiladas, the sauce is memorable. Even the crispy beef taco was fabuloso. I still remembered the flavors in my mouth a day later. One thing I like about Ojeda's is they don't salt things so heavy, so you can actually taste the deliciousness of the quality ingredients. Long drive for me, but I will be going there more often!

Watch out for the margarita!

By Clifton B |

This is a monthly pilgrimage for us. The margaritas are awesome and creep up on you. Service is helpful and attentive. Food is good. We always surf the menu. Seems to always have a crowd but service is maintained. They automatically serve spicy salsa, but a calmer version is available.

Great food!

By ty555 |

We ordered the chicken fajitas which were very good and flavorful! Very good service also! Not too far from Medical Center area if you are looking for good Texmex.

South of the Border Ambiance

By KayM855 |

I was with a group of 7 on a busy Friday night last week. I've eaten lunch at this restaurant as often as once a week over the past 30 years but had never been there for dinner. Shame on me! Luckily we had made reservations; otherwise we would have had a wait as there was a huge crowd waiting and the restaurant packed. Even with the busy restaurant, we were never rushed. In spite of that, the tables turned and the wait was not exceptionally long. Ojeda's has a true Mexican ambiance but the food is traditional Tex-Mex. I think it might be the best in Dallas considering their prices. One of my fellow diners proclaimed the chili rellano to be the best he had ever eaten. This declaration made although there is another Mexican restaurant located in East Dallas that is famous for their rellano!! Ojeda's wait staff is well trained and experienced, friendly and efficient.

Great Tex Mex!

By AllOver1 |

Restaurant was close to Hilton Anatole where we were staying. It got good reviews on TA and it didn't disappoint. Service was great. Very polite and edficien. I had sour cream chicken enchiladas which may have been the best I ever had. My wife had ribeye fajitas that were tender and delicious. Had an appetizer of quest with beef. Small size is enough for 3-4 people. I substituted charro beans for redried. They were great. Margarita were great as well. This may be the best Tex met I ever had.

Consistently Good Mexican Food

By RovingCriticDFW |

Ojeda's is a favorite of ours because everything is consistently good. They have mostly the same items as other Mexican restaurants. The difference is that we all like everything we've tried. We each get some combination dinner and share so everyone has a good variety. They also have very reasonable lunch specials, and a kid's menu with chicken tenders in addition to Mexican items. The pralines are a great dessert choice and easily big enough for two. The servers are friendly and attentive and the prices are fairly typical for such restaurants. There is plenty of parking. They have a good crowd, but usually no wait. We've always had a good experience here.

Best authentic Mexican food

By G N |

Ojeda's delivers an authentic Mexican food experience. Service is impeccable, order is always correct, read back; I have never had missing items. The sauces are not matched at any other restaurant - Ranchero has just the right seasoning, sour cream is delicious. My favorite item on the menu is #12 chili relleno of your choice-cheese, chicken or beef, sour cream chicken enchilada and a puff beef taco. They even have "gringo" mild salsa to eat with the homemade thin crispy chips! Pralines are available as well and cinnamon ice cream. Extensive variety of menu items including American choices.

Awesome Tex-Mex

By matador63 |

My wife, daughter, and I ate here while in Dallas at UTSW, per a recommendation from the Embassy Suites. Great Tex-Mex. We all had the chicken enchiladas. Cooked to perfection. Service was great.

Great food!

By Velvet C |

We went to a known and popular Mexican restaurant the other night and left due to food allergies they even charged us for iced tea lol We were recommended this restaurant by our shuttle driver and it was wonderful! The food, service and drinks were amazing! Definitely recommend!

Dissapointing Mexican Food

By ManorsMan |

We met up for a team dinner here, and expected really good Mexican in Dallas, but overall was disappointed with this place. We have better Mexican in South Florida!

Mexican "comfort food"

By G N |

Ojeda's serves authentic Mexican food quickly! My go to entree is #12 chili rellano covered with ranchero sauce, sour cream chicken enchilada and a crispy beef taco. If the regular salsa served on the table is too hot, ask for the "mild" sauce or I call it the "gringo" sauce! Always attentive service and very tasty food.

Exceeded my Dallas wife's expectations

By CS1Portland |

She was in heaven as we ate lunch here the other month. Its a simple place with really good staff that may well have been working here for years, they give that impression yet still care so much. Good margaritas, skinny & Jalap. Chile con queso good but needed some doctoring up. great chips and salsas. The specials was the way to go for us. Mexican & Night hawk & Carmen. Well done still great after all these years for your TexMex fix.

Good service / food

By WH |

Service was very good. They kept our chips / salsa supplied while we were waiting. To me the Salsa was pretty spicy...so wait until you have a drink. The chips warm. It is a very busy place (we were there on a Friday night). It is pretty loud so makes visiting a little harder. I would definitely go back if visiting the area.

Business Trip

By Marna B |

Crowded and loud but so good. We visited here two years ago when on a trip. Very good! Will go back.

TexMex Local Cafe

By hrhawkins |

This is a local café and one of my favorites for lunch and dinner for over 35 years. The puffed taco dinner, the beef enchilada dinner, the sour cream chicken enchilada dinner....all served with rice and refried beans that have been cooked with smokey ham. It is consistently good. This is a local hangout with good homemade like Tex Mex food, always warm and friendly.

Great Mexican food!

By Greg P |

A real gem in this neighborhood. Food was delicious, margaritas were awesome. I had the brisket quesadillas. They were wonderful.

Good food salsa and chips leave a lot to be desired.

By Michael M |

Food was good. Salsa was on the sweet side and comes in a tiny bowl the size of a thimble and you have to ask for more when the bowl is empty. The bland chips Comes in a bowl almost as small but the dinner was good.

Great Mexican Food

By Bob H |

Enjoyed the late night dinner -- very attentive service - had the Chicken Flautas. Plus the Margarita was fantastic. Very conventient to all the bars on Cedar Springs.

Surprising

By justLinda2013 |

I found this place and decided to take a chance. So glad I did. We both got brisket tacos and they were delicious. They were served with rice and really tasty beans. The service was good also. The restrooms were clean. In fact the only thing negative I could say was that the neighborhood was sketchy but the restaurant has a guard in the parking lot. I would eat here more often if I lived in the area. Try it and you'll be surprised too!

The Family Love Ojeda's

By K8eros |

We've been long time Ojeda's fans and when I tell you that the food comes out fast, I mean like they read your mind before you ordered and knew what you were going to want and were already cooking it! I love the tostadas!

Tex-Mex in Dallas

By Patrice N |

Ojedas was listed as one of the best places for margaritas near the hotel my sister and I stayed at. We decided to check it out and we figured Dallas would have some amazing Tex-Mex. Ojedas wasn’t bad but it was just average. The margaritas were nothing special and neither was the food. This place is just okay but again not a bad place.

Very good food and service.

By Kaptx |

Six of us went to dinner. Excellent salsa and queso. Very good chips and tortillas. Had the ribeye quesadillas and the chicken quesadilla. Also, had the beef enchiladas. All food was very good. Good margaritas.

Everything great

By patentesquire |

Stopped in for lunch during prep for a customer meeting. Lunch for one. Was happy to have nice warm and fresh chips put down immediately. Could have made a meal out of those. Ordered the enchiladas with beef on top per server recommendation. Was happy. Came with rice and beans and could not finish it all. Nice atmosphere and clean. Not too crowded or noisy but I visited later lunch hour. Go back.

Monday night dinner

By Michele D |

Came in around 6pm on a Monday night and were seated promptly. Chips and salsa were being served the moment we sat and were very yummy and spicy hot. Queso was very good my husband polished off a large almost entierly on his own. I ordered the beef fajita enchiladas and they were the BEST I have ever had anywhere. The fajita meat was the tastiest most flavorful fajita meat I have ever had. Rice and beans were also great. Son had fajita nachos and also very good however they were not served with the usual sour cream and guacamole as most places do but that was ok since he doesnt use that anyways. Only downside I have with this place is thats its 4 hours away from where we live.. the next time we are in Dallas we will for sure stop by.

Outstanding food, service and atmosphere

By leslieakalala |

No wonder Ojeda's has been around so long! We took our New Mexican niece to Ojeda's because she tends to be a little critical of Tex-Mex. She loved it! I love the chicken in mole sauce which builds to a spicy burn. The decor is old movie posters from south of the border. The service was great.

Great Food and Margaritas

By Doug W. |

Yum...great Mexican food...to me, one of the best in the area. Awesome margaritas, salsa/chips. Staff very friendly.

San Antonio Style Tex-Mex

By KimD |

The tex-mex at Ojeda's reminds me of the Tex-mex I ate as a kid growing up in San Antonio. This is tex-mex, comfort food style. This is affordable, filling tex-mex, not fancy high end tex-mex. Both are delicious and have a place in my eating world. I highly suggest Ojeda's for home cooked style tex-mex. Enjoy it with a cold beer.

Tacos!

By Bijou888 |

Love their Tacos Mexicana. Street style tacos. It's delicious. Chunks of beef, cilantro, and onions. Their salsa is even better and addicting.

Fabulous Gold Margaritas

By Dru H |

Ojeda's is a family-owned, consistently good Mexican restaurant that has been in Dallas for decades. They have fresh, tasty food and one of the best Gold Margaritas in the city. I love the chicken fajita quesadillas and can rarely be convinced to try anything else there.

Pretty good

Was recommended to us on a tour and we were not disappointed. Really good margaritas. Food could have had a little more flavor but overall a good experience.

Worth the trip

Good food, very attentive service, eclectic crowd. And wealthy, too, judging by the cars in the parking lot. The location isn't in a great neighborhood, but there is a security guard in the parking lot. You won't be disappointed by the food. Fajitas were quite good as were the tacos al carbon. Sides, chips etc were standard. Noise level is bearable. Prices are reasonable. We eat Tex-Mex at least once a week and, while we tend to go to places fairly close to home in northeast Dallas, we will be coming back to Ojeda's.

Incredible Flan

Ojeda's Mexican Restaurant is an unexpected gem of a neighborhood Tex-Mex fiesta! Family owned and operated, the founder’s children now run it. Serivce is quick. The folk art on the walls, old Mexican movie posters, the ceiling twinkle iights and the muffled chatter of the 3 room seating area create an entertaining, intriguing, busy ambience. The happy servers were quick, pleasant and helpful. One visit was not enough; we were back the again next night, eating here 2 of our 4 nights in Dallas. I have eaten flan all over the world. Theirs was the best I’ve had in 20 years.

Fantastic TRUE Tex Mex from an Old Dallas Institution

Although Ojedas is in a bit of a seedy area, it is a safe and extremely worthwhile place to have some of the best Mexican food you'll ever have. Starting with the Salsa, which is really hot and refills on the table, the; tacos, queso, enchiladas, fajitas, guacamole and even the nachos can't be beat. It is all made very fresh and from old family recipes. The refried beans are to die for because they're made the old fashioned way as well as most all of their dishes. If you want lite fare, they can accommodate you too. Think Chicken Fajitas! Simply the best as far as we're concerned. Oh, I order Ranchero Sauce for my friends that want a not so hot salsa. They love it and Ojedas doesn't mind a bit. Awesome place!!

Muy Bueno

If you’ve ever fallen in love with a little family-owned Italian joint - you know, the one all the Italian folks frequent - well Ojeda’s is the Mexican version of this same joint. Authentic old school Tex-Mex food was my favorite meal this visit to Dallas. Meal was CARNE ASADA RANCHERO. Really good. Salsa was as you’d expect - maybe a little spicy. Service was unobtrusive and timely, food came out quick. Only miss was a little too much sugar in my old fashioned but next time I’ll order tequila.

Soooo Good!

I can't believe how good this place was. I was looking for something tasty for dinner and this place was pretty close to my hotel, so I went for it. By far the best chicken fajitas I've ever eaten.

Authentic and Tastefully good

I was visiting Dallas and my friend took us here. First the drinks are to die for. I ordered a swirl margarita and this was one of the best margaritas Ive had. It was so good I ordered another one. I ordered the fajita chimichanga with charros beans. I imagined that I was in heaven because the seasoning/sauce was so good. My friend ordered the brisket nachos. Omg I wanted those as well so I ate some of her’s too. The place was a little crowded but they immediately seated us. The staff was very friendly. My other friend ordered the fajitas and that too looked good but I didn’t try them though she raved about them. Everything was so good. I see why this was one of my friend favorite restaurants because the food is constant because she’s never had a bad experience. I definitely recommend Ojeda’s.

Best food in Dallas

I have been going to Ojedas since I was a small baby and I'm 34 now. The restaurant has grown in size and even when busy the entire staff is so friendly and accommodating. Best Mexican food in Dallas. Continue doing an excellent job.

Lunch Fiesta!

I usually get the fajitas, but decided to try something different. The brisket tacos. Moist and delicious-added a dose of Ojeda's salsa and it was perfection. After all these year Ojeda's continues o top my list for satisfying, authentic Tex-Mex.

Dallas' Mexican Food Patriarch

You can't visit Texas without trying Tex Mex; you can't visit Dallas without trying Ojedas; you can't visit Ojedas without loving it!!! Ojedas is the place where locals gather for great Mexican specialties and wonderful service. Beware of crowds at lunch and on weekends--but you'll be glad you stopped in an indulged on the best Tex Mex in the city. Other locations exist, but if you only have one chance to go, visit Maple Avenue. It's in the shadows of Love Field and downtown Dallas.

The atmosphere was fun and authentic. I enjoyed the chile relleno stuffed with brisket. Top shelf tequila is available. Not far from Love Field.

Nice tex mex

My wife and enjoyed this restaurant. I had a couple of cheese tacos and some rice and she had the small chicken Tortia soup. Which was quite big.

We went on a Friday with a group of 26 with no reservations. We were seated within 20 minutes on a busy night. The place was packed. The hot sauce is hot and the chips are fresh. I had the carne asada and it was great. They had cold beer. They have two bars as well. I would definitely go back.

Tasty Tex Mex

Reminds me of the type of TexMex we ate as kids in San Antonio. Simple yet delicious. Try the enchiladas de fajita.

Great Place for Tex-Mex

This was my 1st time to eat here. I was pleasantly surprised. Good service, good food, and large serving of food for a reasonable price. I would highly recommend eating there if you are in the area.

Great Staff, Delicious Food

By Christopher H |

I came here with a friend who recommended it and I’m glad he did. The menu is extensive with a lot to choose from. I love that they serve their chips warm and there is a large container of salsa on the table so you never run out. The enchiladas were delicious and so was my friend’s steak and cheese quesadilla. The server was also extremely nice and took great care of us. I recommend the Skinny Margarita, simply because it feels the most authentic with just tequila, agave, Cointreau and lime juice. We live nearby so this will likely become a regular spot.
