Nothing like a Neapolitan but that’s not why you come to Philadelphia. It’s like a deep pan but the crusts are nice and fluffy not dense and doughy. Wish I’d ordered a dip to have with them. Got a simple pepperoni 10” and ate the whole thing. It was a pretty good price and perfect for a simple take away pizza that stayed hot until I got it to my hotel a block away. Sweet.

I took my grandson to Philly for his birthday and in out travels we found this place. The pizza slice was huge and very tasty! I paid for our meal with my Debit card and left, They told me about a unique candy store across the street that they thought my grandson would enjoy. We left and went on our way and came back by to the candy store 30 minutes later, when I went to pay at the candy store i realized I didn't have my wallet. I had left it at the restaurant, I ran across the street and they had it and tried to contact me and even went across the street to find me at the candy store.Everything in place. So sweet and concerned. Thank you so much for showing us Philly at its best.

We got the biggest slice of pizza, ever! The chicken and shells soup was the best homemade soup I've ever had in any restaurant. Spanicopita and mozzarella sticks were great. Great location and nice little place to eat and relax.

This place was recommended to me by a person at the front desk of the nearby Windham Hotel. Very good and very inexpensive New York-style pizza for take out.

We liked it so much that we had dinner 2 of our 3 nights in town. The pizza was delicious and I could not stop thinking about it. "Hole in the Wall" in the best way possible. Everyone was nice and inviting. Thanks!

This was the first place we saw when our 2 teen grandsons decided they were hungry. We weren't disappointed. We had personal pizzas, Italian steak sandwich, and wings. All were delicious but the onion rings were the best! The restaurant was clean and neat inside. The owner and her server were a little blunt at first but by the end of lunch, they were talking to us like we were old friends. It was an enjoyable lunch- much better than Pat's cheesesteak the day before, and a whole lot less money for more and better food. We all left full and happy.

I am not especially impressed. it can fill you up if you are starving. Kind of a diner feeling. They tried.

The food is delicious. I had a pizza with pepperoni and olives and my husband had a Greek pizza. We both loved the food. The sauce was delicious - the crust was fresh - and the cheese was amazing. Some previous reviews did not appreciate the service, but I thought it was fine. This is not a fine-dining restaurant and it does not pretend to be, but the food is good and the prices are quite affordable.

I FOUND THE PERFECT SLICE IN PHILLY. We got the Mega Slice which was a 1/4 of a large pizza. I had bacon and broccoli on mine. Perfectly sauced with just enough cheese. Thin. Crispy. I was incredible. I want another slice right now!

We stopped for lunch before meeting a tour. Large and appealing menu, from cheese steaks, soups, pizza and various Italian classics. We had soup and shared a cheese steaks, all good. Huge portions, friendly service and great value. There were a group of firemen and other locals, which is always a good sign.

Fast, affordable & delicious cheesesteak experience. Good family atmosphere but do not ask for steak sauce!! Apparently it's ketchup all the way, which was actually pretty good.

We stopped in after walking around to find a place for dinner. It's not a real big place, but it had adequate seating. The staff and food were fabulous! The menu features a wide variety of options from pizza to hoagies, cheese steaks to pasta. We had a bit of all of it and everything was very tasty. The pizza was so good! For our party, the total bill was just over $100, so a nice surprise to not have an outrageous dinner bill! While I didn't try it, they had a little coconut cake that my daughter said was the best thing she ate on our trip!

Great find! We were walking around Philly and found this place. Really small place and was packed so we were crammed in a table by the kitchen window, but the food was worth any tight space. Friendly staff. Great value.

I had a giant slice of pizza. It was the size of my head and I just had meatballs on it. My wife and girls had a stromboli and it was the size of a football. It fed them all nicely. So good and not to badly priced.

Thank goodness that we found this cozy restaurant on a cold day! We had sandwiches instead of pizza that this place was famous for - we loved our food. Good attentive services as well.

Good food, good staff and pleasant environment along with a good delivery service. Can’t ask for more.

Stopped in for a fast lunch before my tour of the National Park. The food is good and the staff is outstanding. They are all smiles and very helpful. The restaurant has a large menu and does a big carry-out business. I had a steak sandwich and it was very good. So nothing fancy as i had to make my tour. This is a great place to stop between tours and located in the middle of many historical sites. give it a try; you won't regret.

We just loved this little place! It's the perfect cozy pizza parlor. Our server was kind and accommodating and the pizza did not disappoint. Fresh vegetables, tasty meat and cheese, and our grandson loved the hot chocolate. The location is great too, right in the historic area near our hotel. We loved it so much, we went two nights in a row to dinner here!

The Italian grinder was amazing. We joined some friends for lunch. Obviously a family restaurant. My wife loved the homemade spanakopita, our friends enjoyed their cheeseburger and grilled sandwich as well. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The prices we the most reasonable I have seen since the vacation started. If you are one to support small businesses, this is the perfect place.

we were out walking and thirsty so we just wondered in here, glad we did. the pizza was yummy and huge huge slices for under $4. great stop for a cheap lunch

While staying at the Wyndham on arch street, my wife and I walk re D one block to this nice old pizza place where the pizzas and Greek food was really nice. Several people came in for carry out while we were there and even though it is the off season in this part of Philly, business was brisk. We had the spanakopita and gyro platter and thoroughly enjoyed.

This is a cute little spot...food was good...we got a personal pizza and wings. It was plenty for 2 kids and and 2 adults

Late night snack gone bad! Order from here because it was around the corner... HORRIBLE PIZZA.. The pizza so bad that I only ate the crust because I had no other option. The hotel should STOP recommending!

Just ate there with my bf and a friend. I had a mediocre cheesesteak, bf had average rice soup sloppunly set down (was actually pasta), and friend had mega slice pizza with cold ham and cold pineapple chunks thrown on top. Worst was when the cashier and waitress, both older ladies, started arguing back and forth for about 15 minutes before we finally were able to leave. Think someone walked our without paying (probably bc of bad food) and they just keep one upping each other about how food isn't given away for free. Very uncomfortable to be in there. Then the cashier rudely told a lady who walked in from the street and asked to borrow a chair to help an elderly man who had fallen on the street and was awaiting an ambulance that the chair could be borrowed, but if the man was dizzy, he might just fall off the chair anyway. So rude and insensitive. Reward good businesses. This one isn't it. Sorry we did.

This is located near the National Independence Historic site. They serve amazing Stromboli. I confirmed with the owner that they don't put eggs in the pizza dough. So, highly recommended for those who prefer an eggless vegetarian diet.

My kids insist on eating here when we visit Philly. The pizza slice is as big as they are! I had pasta and it tasted homemade.

This pizza spot known on the sign as OCP is a little run down spot with a few tables and booths. They claim to be home of the "mega slice" so that is what my kids had- the pizza was larger than their heads and was probably at least 1 1/2 regular sized slices. They were decent but nothing to write home about. I had a philly cheese steak. Good soft bread but it really tasted like... Well absolutely nothing. That and 3 drinks was less than $20. The lady who helped us was nice enough. Over all would I go back?... Probably not....but it was ok.

While visiting the Independence Mall area of Philly, we were looking for someplace for lunch. Because we have often found "diamonds in the rough" and that this location was not exactly eye-popping, we decided to give it a try. My wife ordered two "megaslices" of pizza - lordy, they were huge!! Two slices for $5 - probably equal to a small personal pizza. I ordered the classic Philly cheese steak - hoagie roll loaded with shaved beef, provolone and grilled onions for $7. We were overstuffed!! If we are in Philly again, sure bet we'll eat here.

Had the "munchies" walking back to the hotel and stumbled across this place. Corner pizza house and a real mom and pop place in the old part of town. Very friendly staff huge portions and cheap and a great great taste I would eat here again when next in Philly.

We stayed for a week in the historic district and needed a convenient place to eat for a family of five. At our first visit, we were warmly greeted and seated. The place is always busy and the lovely server with black hair kept everyone fed while maintaining a smile and kind service. We tried a few other places in town and realized that most run about $15+meal: one left us wishing we never visited and another the portions were tiny leaving our teen hungry. After those other places, our teen son requested to "go back to OCP as they have a great selection" and we (parents) liked the prices under $10for meal specials. We tried the homemade ("by grandmother") lasagna, homemade Spanakopita, BLT sandwich, loaded chicken steak hoagie, philly cheesesteak, homemade chicken rice soup, Ceasar salad, chicken Parmesan, and several different pizzas: All were delicious with large portions. The menu has a bit of everything to please everyone in the family. Save some money while visiting Philly and enjoy a meal(s) at OCP; you might even have some leftovers to put in your hotel fridge to enjoy later. Enjoy a meal ~ "Table 6 family" recommends it!!

This is a great place to eat.Huge portions, great food, friendly service. The Lasagna was fabulous, big portion enough for two.Salad enough for two.The Chocolate Cake was delicious.

I stopped in to Old City Pizza by chance, to grab something quick to eat. It was one of the top five pieces of pizza I've had in my life...and I eat a lot of pizza! OCP is an old school place with friendly staff and offering Italian, Greek, and American foods.

Great service, a nice establishment... and the largest slice of pizza I've ever had! I don't know how you don't fold it to eat it (actually I do... as the other patrons at my table chose a fork and knife instead)!

We had been out all day and they delivered to the hotel. Excellent meat lovers pizza, nice and warm, delivery wasn't that fast, but was worth the wait.

We entered late, around 7:30pm. There a few options that late at night in this part of the city. Ordered pizza and a salad. Pizza was excellent. Great crust and fresh vegetables! The salad used fresh and crisp romaine lettuce. The atmosphere is that of a small family run pizza shop. Our table was wobbly, the chairs were basic. Their menu is extensive. Many options made it difficult to choose. They have most Italian specialities such as spaghetti and meatballs, sandwiches, Stromboli, etc.

We stopped in Philadelphia while traveling from Virginia. We found this little family owned place on a corner that had amazing Philly cheesesteaks. They also had great appetizers. The service was friendly, the food was good and the prices are very reasonable. One of the best parts of this place is its location to Penn landing, historical landmarks and parking garages. I would recommend this establishments to anyone traveling to Philadelphia.

There are two store fronts, one does Pizza, the other(two doors down) doesn't. We Got two Cheese burgers and Sodas. This is a Pepsi place. The burgers were standard... nothing special. Philly has a large Soda tax which made the drinks more expensive. The place was old, but clean. The default photo looks like it was taken from our table.

I have been all over the world, and I have eaten pizza all over the world. If you are in Old City Philadelphia PA you MUST go to this location and order a mega slice!

Great restaurant within walking distance of the historic area of Philly. Huge portions. Come hungry. Stromboli is killer. Could be crowded on certain days but was mostly empty on Sunday night when we were there. Service was friendly and prompt. Great small restaurant feel. Almost home-y. Would go back but I was just traveling through.

Amazing slices at a nice place. Staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered Garlic Bread and a slice of cheese pizza. Garlic Bread was good, but pizza was average. A good place if you want a bite while visiting Independence NHP. Also proof of vaccination is required for dine-in.

Ordered a pizza. No hassle, reasonable price, quick service. Hot and very good. Next time I am in Philadelphia I will definitely be back.

The best part of this location is it's location. Situated within a comfortable walking distance of the historic area, it is built into an existing old building giving it quite the charm. Staff very attentive. We dined there twice for dinner. I would definitely stick with the pizza. Slices were large, served hot; thin and crunchy. A lot of variety in toppings. Our 2nd dinner I had the raviolis and meatballs; spouse had spaghetti and meatball. The raviolis were to me the kind you could pick up frozen in a local grocery store, boil, pour some sauce on it and serve. Not what I would expect in a restaurant at all, so that was disappointing. The sauce and meatballs were quite flavorful.

We went here after a walking tour. We saw the place during the tour, needed to kill some time prior to starting another tour. We decided to have lunch here. Food was ok. Mega slice was a big. The staff was rude. We started up front we needed separate checks. Cashier stated we should split between us and tore the bill in half. "You split it up yourselves." Hindsight I read where this happened on another review. I didn't have access to TripAdvisor on hand and went solely by the TripAdvisor sticker they had in the window. Learned my lesson on that.

My go-to local lunch spot is a well kept secret in Old City. The food here is excellent, comes out fast and the price is right! Best cheesesteak I could find in the neighborhood. They use great bread and toast the roll just right. And the Gyro passes the tzatziki test, my Armenian friend loved it!

Went in and ordered a cheesesteak sandwich for lunch. Now what would you suppose that is? I got a foot-long grinder roll which was fresh and crisp, filled with shredded meat. Where's the cheese I asked? It was something sprayed onto the bread! I could hardly see it. The sandwich was dry and tasteless. It needed something. So the waitress had some CheeseWhiz put on it! In the meantime I was drinking glasses of Pepsi. The menu gave the impression it was 1.50$/glass. On checkout I find it was 2.50$/glass. The old battleaxe at the register (no doubt the owner), was as charming as a rock, and just as nasty, unaccomodating, and unapologetic for the sodas not being priced on the menu - despite everything else was! The 1.50$ was for the hot chocolate only! Wrong, rude, bad attitude, bad comments. There are much better places...

My wife and I stopped in to Old City pizza and had a fabulous Philly cheesesteak and spaghetti and meatballs I would highly recommend it if you are in Philly on vacation.

You can see them throwing the dough in the back. We each had the mega slice, which was almost too much and it was only $4.25! This is a quick and tasty stop if you want to try east coast pizza.

We were famished after a 90 minute walking tour and decided to try OCP..so glad we did! The pizza and salad really hit the spot...pizza crust is light, they don't skimp on toppings, staff is very friendly and accommodating. Prices are so reasonable.. don't miss this gem!

Biggest slices and best quality pizza around. A nice sit down area and take out as well. Nice service also.

We were staying in at the Wyndham in historic Philadelphia and had this delivered our first night in town. Portions were excellent, very affordable ($30 for a large pizza, large chicken caesar salad, and order of garlic bread). Everyone from the person who took our order to the person who delivered was very friendly. Would recommend for a quick, easy dinner in. They have lots of options, too!

Tried Old City Pizza after an afternoon exploring Philadelphia. Very reasonably priced and excellent Old City Special pizza.

Fresh and hearty food, lots of variety in menu, friendly service, good value, real Philly atmosphere. Greek and Italian food

I placed a order but vwhen the food arrived, my desert was missing. I called back but they were closed for the evening. We ordered a grilled chicken sandwich that turned out to be just a grilled breast on a bun. I had the fried shrimp platter with coleslaw and fries. Shrimp were frozen type you could buy in freezer section at the supermarket. Nothing was seasoned and they did not include salt or pepper. Pizza was awful but worst of all were the Buffalo wings. Prepared with no salt or pepper. Buffalo sauce seved on the side. Waste of money.

We just popped in on our way to the Betsy Ross house and ordered a single slice. When we got it, it was double the normal size. The flavor was out of this world. While eating outside, a few people saw our joy and looked at the slice and were inspired to go get one of their own.

Rest your feet and sit down to eat OR order and carry out. Great prices and great food! We enjoyed the chicken parm grinder, turkey and cheese sandwich, a mega slice of sausage pizza, a large salad, a Philly cheesesteak and a delicious slice of cheesecake. This restaurant is on the next corner over from the Betsy Ross House. Friendly service.

A place I've eaten at occasionally for years. In addition to pizza and Italian dishes, the Greek owners make some Greek recipes...their soups and a few others. Love their eggplant!

This restaurant is a pizza / Italian / Greek place about a half a block from the Betsy Ross House in Old City. We each had a megaslice of cheese pizza (equivalent to 2 regular slices). It was quite tasty and each megaslice was only $2.50. It is a great place to rest your feet after tooling around Old City and the prices can't be beat. The service was fast and the food came out piping hot. Highly recommend!

Food was good. We went to try Stromboli. Service was slow. No free refills on tea or soda. Floor was very dirty. Space is limited. Employees were friendly.

Two ladies were handling a lunch crowd about 85% full, one Greek, one Irish. NO they are not sisters. Philly Cheesesteak with grilled onions was out of this world. The steak was tender without grit, fresh cheese. The roll made it so good. Tune roll also fresh, crispy lettuce. Large enough for half-to-go. For Philly, prices are quite reasonable. Definately would return.

We were there at opening time, and someone finally unlocked the door 10 minutes later. It took almost an hour to get breakfast, probably because the cook wandered in half an hour past opening. Once they were up and running, the food was satisfying diner-style, at very reasonable prices in a walkable location. Great for families visiting the sights.

New to the neighborhood, I've been seeking the best pizza around. After 20 years in Chicago it is nice to live amongst people who know what pizza is supposed to be. In any event, I've been here a couple of times and the food is average, nothing special. The service on the other hand, how shall I put it, indifferent would be a step up for these folks. Let alone making you actually feeling welcome. Perhaps they have a loyal following that have been going there for years, other than that I cannot imagine going back.

The pizza was mediocre. There was barley any tomato sauce on it, it was like I was just eating crust. Staff was friendly. However, I would not come here to get pizza again.

We visited here after spending most of the afternoon visiting various attractions in the Center City area of Philadelphia. We wanted a Philly cheese steak and they had it advertised in their window so thought we would give it a try. Kind of a small eatery, seemingly family owned. The cheese steak sandwiches were quite tasty and filling. About the only drawback was that on this occasion, they ran out of unsweet tea and I generally don't drink sweet drinks. So a little bit of a downer as we wanted to cool down a bit before heading off to finish our attractions visit. But, I would likely give them another chance.

Great for a quick bite, cheap eats. Loved my spaghetti with veal parm, burgers were cooked fresh, fries were hot and crispy, garlic bread was flavorful but not greasy.

Some, times they are nice. Sometimes they are not. The food is very so,so. But it's close and quick There is a lot better in Philly.

Ordered an Old City Special medium pizza to go. OMG, soooooo goood!!! Excellent service, very fast. Cheap and delicious. It’s a must!!!!

Great Pizza. I picked their special one and it had more toppings than the cake could handle. I enjoyed it and the service. The phone line with orders can't stop ringing - that's how much locals love the place.

Really interesting array of pizza choices. Pastry made daily. Everything is so fresh and tasty. Thoroughly recommend.

The slice of pizza was the single largest I have ever seen. And it was quite tasty! It is a low key atmosphere that is perfect for a quick, good, and authentic Italian meal.

Decent pizza. I've gotten the meat lover a couple time and they were good. It's better to take out because the atmosphere isn't too friendly. The staffs weren't too super welcoming neither. Overall, it wouldn't be a bad place to grab a quick bite!

Was on a trip to Philadelphia and while checking out the local restaurants etc came upon this gem of local eatery. Great food, Great service and very reasonably priced. Can’t praise it enough went 3 times 👍

Great smelling place upon walking in where a staff member greats you from behind the counter with a warm hello. The food is varied and not just your typical pizzeria style cuisine. There is literally something for every taste here. While eating, I could tell they have a strong customer base as many who came in at lunch were known to the staff by first name. Prices were reasonable for both the quality and quantity of what was served. I found the pizza to have a light and almost flaky but firm crust. The heros and cheesesteaks were cooked perfectly. Nice little spot for a quick bite and a warm "hello".

Old city Pizza is a great place. It is warm, cozy, and homey inside. The owners are very sincere and sweet and greeted me when I walked in. I got a Philly cheesesteak and the service was very quick. The cheesesteak was 10 out of 10 will definitely go back :)

A traditional little Greek restaurant just a few steps away from the home of Betsy Ross. The family there pull you into their atmosphere of all are family. If you are looking for a place with warm smiles who will answer your every becking call, this isn’t the place. But if your looking for the worlds best pizza....look no more ! We have eaten there 3 times, the pizza is cooked to perfection. Did I mention the canolli’s go ahead and start drooling because they are INCREDIBLE

This place has so many options for food! Sandwiches, Greek dishes, deli sandwiches, pasta dishes, soups and salads for a few! Not knowing this we went in to see what they had and were greeted by a lady who I think is the owner, very gregarious and enthusiastic about their offerings. We stayed to eat! My husband had an egg salad with bacon sandwich and fries. The sandwich was overflowing with eggs salad and bacon and the fries were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. I had a cheesesteak wrap that was very tasty and I enjoyed the fries too. Overall a great experience and very good food!

Stopped on on a whim. Service average, but pizza was top notch. Not much atmosphere here, but the old town pizza is worth going out of your way for.

We wanted to have pizza and we looked on our phone for the nearest place with a pretty good rating and this restaurant was it. We realized they had Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches which we wanted to try so we ordered them instead. We had cheese, onions, and peppers on ours. I can't say it was bad while I was eating it since it was my first but it wasn't the best sandwich I ever had. Then the dreaded cooks problem happened. I had a hair my one of my last bites. I didn't mention it to anyone. We had a long day of sightseeing on a very hot day. When we ordered we stated that we wanted two checks (2 couples) and she said no problem. When my friend began checking out first at the register the cashier, an older lady, rang up everything together. My friend explained we were to have to separate checks. The cashier got very nasty. She told my friend she was to pay for it as written. She repeated how we ordered. She even showed her how the waitress wrote it on the paper. She said, "Then you figure out how much you owe! The waitress isn't the cashier". My friend, the wonderful negotiator she is said, "No, you figure it out." Which she did and we paid and will never go back. It's sad that an okay meal turned very bad because of a hair then a very grumpy and nasty cashier.

This is an easy place to just drop into for a quick meal, sandwich or pizza. Try their mega slice, it really is a mega size. The food is inexpensive and good. I have watched them make their lasagna by hand so you know that is really home made. Is that is made right there I would bet a lot of things are.

Very good New York style pizza! Old lady working counter could be more pleasant! Very large menu. Only place within a few blocks to eat.

This is a great place to get pizza! They sell whole pies, and also single giant pieces. The crust on the whole pie was perfectly crispy and soft inside. The spaghetti was also very good.

We came for dinner with our children. The staff gave us a warm welcome, the food is simple and good, the pizzas are excellent... We had a great evening! It's also a great place to order takeaway pizzas. We saw quite a few people coming in to pick up their orders, so I gather these pizzas are popular.

Nicely flavored pizza on a delicious crust, and twice the size of slices from other places. There is seating at the restaurant, or you can carry out. (There's a nice tiny park with picnic tables about a block away)

You’ll need a to go box! More economical. They’re a tiny slow or maybe understaffed for a Thursday night but it was fresh and good and we have lunch for tomorrow!

Ordered pizza from here my first night in Philly because I had been up over 24 hours and barely had ate. The delivery time was good and the pizza was good! Would order from here again next time in Philly!

Located on Market St near the old historic district, this is a cozy local mom and pop restaurant with a wide variety of dishes. We were given the recommendation by a local tour guide we came across at the Visitor Center. Food was great. Felt better supporting a local family. We definitely recommend!

This is a great place to grab a bite to eat while strolling around the old city. One of the best slices of pizza I have had and the service was friendly too.

I was in a hurry and ordered a hamburger, that came with fries and coleslaw. I had absolutely no expectations, but turned out to be pleasantly surprised. The price was reasonable as well. I would like to try the pizza the next time I'm in the area.

Delicious food! Friendly service! After touring the old city, we needed a place to rest and refresh. So happy we stumbled upon this place. Staff is very welcoming!

We dropped in today to have lunch & see this historic location. Very impressed! The garlic knots, pizza and beers were very nice! Its a very cool restaurant with plenty of history. When we were here it was nice & quiet but man what a seedy neighbourhood. I would not be taking my family wandering the surrounding streets after dark it was bad enough during the day. I would definitely come here again! AA++

We were told about this place from another trip advisor member, so thank you. We just needed a place we could walk to from the hotel for a quick and easy dinner and pizza is always a hit with 2 kids, nothing fancy but the pizza was good we had a large plain pizza which was cheap, the crust is alot bigger than we are used too, we also had the buffalo pizza which was tasty but could have done with another couple of mins in the oven. Was not busy but we went at 5 on a Tuesday(small kids we eat early). The waitress was nice and had a little conversation with us. Place was clean service was fast. Everyone has their own preference for pizza, like I said crust was a lot bigger than we normally get but it tasted just fine.

Got into Philly about 9 in the evening. Just wanted to get something quick. Hotel told me about Old City. An old fashioned pizza place with sandwiches and other quick food. Food was ready quickly, delicious. An old fashioned pizza place , just like you wanted.

We had been here a few years ago and while visiting this year we decided to stop again remembering how good it was. We each had a slice of their delicious oversized slices of pizza and some onion rings. The pizza came out hot and ready to eat! It was so good the crust had a nice crispy, cheesy, not greasy! The onion rings were just ok, maybe frozen from a bag but not awful. The prices were right, they have a great menu, an open kitchen where we saw the guy rolling out the dough. It's right down the street from Betsy Ross's house not far from Independence Hall.

Tasty, homemade, simply prepared Italian and Greek dishes presented in an unpretentious setting near Betsy Ross home and other historic spots. This place feels like a neighborhood family restaurant, not a pub or bar, with minimal decor, formica tables etc. Clean, well lit. Service was low-key but friendly and good. Housemade Spanokopita was warm (not hot) but tasty, home made soup hot and satisfying, and Gyro were all good. We will go again. The menu is extensive so there is much to try, and we would not expect to be disappointed.

We stopped in after seeing some sites. Got 2 Philly steaks and they were absolutely delicious. Ravioli and sauce was to die for. Definitely would recommend to anybody. only had 1 person to serve but she did it with a smile great stop!

My family and I stopped into Old CIty Pizza when we first came to Philly. We wanted to try a cheese steak and didn't relaize this is a pizza restaurant. We've now visited Old City Pizza more than any other restaurant in Philly and still haven't tried the pizza because the cheese steaks are just so danged good. Easily the best I've tasted. My wife think's their secret is they marinade their meat, but you didn't hear that from me. I like my cheese steak with mushrooms and grilled onions. But there are plenty of other fixin's like pepperoni and mild or hot peppers. I tried the coleslaw for the first time today. Big surprise, it's delicious. And my son filled up early so I got a taste of his chicken fingers which were so tender and juicy with a very light but oh so tasty breading. Sorry Col Sanders. Pizza and Cheese steak is just the tip of the iceberg as there a plenty more items on the menu; burgers, wraps, casadillas, pasta, salads, paninis, breakfast... Maybe I should just let you check their menu. After eating my next stop is always Rocket Fizz for a refreshing soda to continue my stroll through Old City. They have a selection of sodas bigger than you can imagine. Check my review here on Trip Advisior for more details.

The Greek chicken is fantastic. We ate here twice during our visit to Philadelphia. The wait staff is extremely accommodating and the food was great!!

Hadn’t had lunch. Was with a large group. They weren’t eating til late. I was hungry. I was parked at the Constitution Center. It was snowing/sleeting. Walking anywhere was probably not wise. Ordered meat lasagna from them. To be delivered. $12.96. It was so good. Perfect. Had great salad & French bread. Servings were great. Food was hot. Bread was soft. It hit the spot. Best part was, they were extremely fast. I would recommend this place to anyone with an appetite. .

Went to OCP grill with my friends and I was surprised how bad they made the Philly steak- it was dry and tasted cheap and not fresh so I was very disappointed. The lady that served us wasn't very friendly and was very short with her answer. Avoid!

I love these kind of places! It's tucked away on a downtown street in the city in a non-descript setting. It reeks of old time charm and is lovely! The menu is fun to look through and it is loaded with all kinds of fun, tasty options. I'm sure it's very popular with the downtown businesses around it. I had the cheesesteak and it was huge!!! So much food! I also ordered the basket of fries to go along with it and had the pleasure of some of the best fries I've ever had! Their pizza looked great as well and I wish I had another opportunity to try some. The service was warm, friendly, and helpful and if I lived in the area this would be a regular place for me.

Serves pizza slices the size of your head! And if you're not too full... get a cannoli! Any place that's full of locals at lunchtime is always a good sign :)

Damn! The slice of cheese pizza was massive and so yummy! I have to definitely go back. This place would be heavy competition for insisting pizza restaurants in New York. I lived in New York for a decade and had some great pizzas there.

Stopped here for dinner with my family because my children remembered that they had really big pizza from when we were there years ago. They remembered correctly. The slices were huge! And cheap! Great place to eat on a budget if you like okay pizza and grumpy service.

This is a Greek and Italian place, with lots of family interaction contributing to a friendly welcoming atmosphere. We were staying at the Wyndham close by, and just wanted a good not expensive place, and we liked the friendliness from the start as a party of three adults and a grandkid in tow. We had a 14" meat lovers and a 14" Zorba the Greek (a nice blend of gyro, calimata olives, feta, and so forth). We had some trouble finishing them but eventually did because they were both great pizzas. Great food, great service, very close to a top hotel. Perfect.

We were hoping for some incredible food after reading the reviews but it was so so. The pizza wasn't fantastic we expected more east coast style pizza but the taste just wasn't there for us. We would give this an A+ for location though, near all the historic sites so very convenient. It was also fast and cheap so that was a plus for us on our visit.

Dropped in by chance. Fabulous local place with a lovely friendly , hardworking lady serving. The place was crowded and phone ringing constantly showing his popular it is. Food was great

This is our "go to" restaurant when we need takeout. Menu is broad and GOOD. Great gourmet pizzas and excellent salads. The "go to" is usually Friday night. The people are great and the delivery man fantastic. Always cheerful.

The pizza has very fresh ingredients. Great crust and very reasonably priced. Great location. Wait staff seem genuinly happy and very helpful.

The title of my review said it all. I've had quite a few, and this one is tops. I came back for it after I had the first one years ago, as it was that memorable. Prefer or with regular cheese... And enjoy.

We ordered a pizza on our first night. It was so good! Slices are huge and the amount of cheese was perfect. We will probably order every night!

Nice atmosphere. Good food. Not expensive. We enjoyed the food and service enough to visit twice. Great both times. I would go back.

This is a great place to bring a friend visiting. The food is very good and you have a great family atmosphere.

This place isn't fancy but the pizza was really, really good. The person that made it baked it perfectly!!

We were walking around, looking for a place for dinner and found this, so we stopped. The service was fine. The pizza and Stromboli were both mediocre, unfortunately. The sauce for both was very unoffensive, to the extreme, and did not have much flavor. The Stromboli had a lot of cheese and little else, thought it was supposed to have pepperoni, and the crust was very bready, with little flavor. Overall, ok, we left full and it was not too pricey, but it won't be worth a return trip.

The pizza is really what it's all about in this cozy corner joint! Mega slices which look like double+ the amount for a great price-$2.50 for the giant slice! And they were good slices. We had no toppings so I can't say what they are like in that area but the toppings are also reasonable, I believe at $.50, a slice. We had sandwiches as well and these ranged from pretty good to not so impressive but ..... if I was rating it for pizza only this would definitely be higher. I also noticed a reserved table so I would think maybe you can call ahead for larger parties? If you want to dine in you are served by a server, otherwise you can order at the counter for take out!

First time visiting Philidelphia, and having a Phili Cheesesteak sandwich. It was amazing! My wife ordered a sauteed shrimp pizza which was also delicious! The waitress was nice and helpful!

We spent the day walking in Philadelphia and having walked past the restaurant earlier in the day, we gave it a try. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. The service was excellent; the wait staff was so friendly. We shared an Old City Special Pizza, thin, delicious fresh dough topped with a red sauce, plenty of cheese, ground beef, olives, ham, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and onions. Easily fed two people.

Good food, great environment - felt very welcomed and at home. The server was amazing- kept all the tables going plus the counter plus answered the phone and did it all with a smile. Some of the people in our party likes the cheesesteak more than the places that specialize in it too!

Had a large pie with mushrooms and sausage and it was killer! Old Italian gramma served it with a smile. Try the garlic sauce.

In addition to pizza, burgers and cheesesteaks are Greek menu items. I found the service efficient, the tables spotless and the gyros deliciously messy. Good thing my server gave me enough napkins. I was here many years ago and it has not changed; there isn't much in the way of ambiance. As a reliable eatery, this is a place that will always meet your expectations.

Great food at affordable prices. Very friendly staff. Wasn't real crowded which was a nice break from the hoards of tourists. Relaxed atmosphere.

We wanted an authentic restaurant experience while in town. Old City Pizza is within walking distance of so many attractions, so it was an easy decision. Both of our meals were excellent and served to us quickly. I had the cheesesteak (see picture) and my wife had a steak Italiano. Highly recommend!!

We wanted to get a Philly Cheesesteak when we arrived in Philadelphia. Old City Pizza was within walking distance from our hotel. We enjoyed our first true cheesesteak that evening. The service was fast and friendly. My wife loved the rice pudding so much we went back again to get some more. Prices and the menu selection were good. I would go back again.

After touring the Betsy Ross house, we decided to stop here for lunch. This is a nice locally owned restaurant that serves good food. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was delicious but there was not enough of it for the amount of pasta on the plate. If you come here, come hungry as the portions are huge.

We stopped in for dinner (hotel was around the corner). Pizza with meatballs was so amazing. I am picky when it comes ti pizza & they make their pizza with love. The cheesesteak with wiz was also delicious. Friendly service, too.

This place was great. It has that old original philly vibe and fantastic employees. Our waitress noticed me trying to snap a pic of my boyfriend and I so she came over and offered to take the pic for us. She was on top of the orders making sure everything was as ordered and steaming hot. The food portions are huge. My cheesesteak was way bigger than the popular Pat's. You know a place has good food when you see an elderly woman slaying out orders in the kitchen! I loved this place.

The food was not great but large portions and the pizza was okay. The staff very pleasant. small appears family run.

Amazing food! It was a delightful experience and I highly recommend!! The restaurant had a very cozy feeling. Great place to visit with friends and family!

We arrived in Philly on Friday night-2 kids, mom and me. I was unfamiliar with the city, tired and, frankly, didn't want to drive anymore. We asked the front desk about local delivery and they recommended this place. We ordered pizza and buffalo wings. The pizza and service were fantastic. Got to us fast and hot. Smelled amazing and the crust was light and yummy. My son who is an expert on wings said that he had better. He finished them so they had to be edible at the very least.

After walking and sightseeing all day, stopped in here just passed 9 pm. Sign says open til 11pm. Sat at booth and waitress yells over that we were gonna have to do take out because that's all they were serving. So we said OK and started looking over the menu. As we were looking over the menu, several minutes later... she yells over that we could only get pizza, that none of the other things on the menu we're currently available. So we changed pages to the pizza menu and while we were looking over the pizza choices, she yelled over that we were going to have to leave because all of the cooks had gone home. We just looked at each other in disbelief. We had sat there for several minutes and three times she basically let us know we were not wanted there. We stood up and left and as we were going out the door one of the locals was walking around the corner and heard us talking about how rotten we were treated in there and he said that is the norm. He said, "The people are rude to everyone and the portions are small anyway, be happy that you left." He added that "the pizza isn't anything spectacular - go somewhere else and find something better to eat. They are very rude and anyone who lives around here avoids that place."

Cute little place on the corner. Very convenient if you are walking around the historic part of Philadelphia and need to get off your feet. Food was good but they only had 1 waitress. We went after the lunch rush. So be mindful of the time you may end up waiting for a long time.

We had spent the day sight seeing and were tired of walking. Stopped in and was pleasantly surprised. My husband had a Philly cheese-steak with bacon and I had the Macedonian Chicken platter. the platter was amazing and huge and the best Tzaziki sauce I have ever had. We went back another day for pizza. Nothing earth shattering but we liked it. It didn't have a ton of sauce and we like it like that.

You will not leave here hungry. Me and the wife got a pizza and a philly cheese steak. Everything was excellent. Quiet and located on a corner. easy to find.

Excellent, the service was great and the pizza was fantastic. Nice local business, it's a mom and pop reasturant wit locals coming in and out. Recommended eating there.

Excellent food for reasonable prices. Homemade Stromboli and rice pudding, soups also delicious. Pizza by the slice is by far most purchased item.

There is a reason that this is the home of the MEGA slice, that piece of pie was HUGE! We were in a time crunch and the waitress was more than happy to point out what would be quick and tasty, we both had slices, then after our one hour Segway tour, we went back to warm up with their delicious homemade soup! Delicious food! Friendly service!

We were looking for a good pizza place close to our hotel and settled on this place due to Trip Advisor. It was a 7 block walk but well worth it. Their half Cheese and half pepperoni was excellent. The crust was perfect and the sauce and cheese was just right. With two sixteen year olds among the four of us, we had just enough for us to be satisfied. Again, great pizza to go and we would definitely walk those seven blocks again.

We stopped in "by chance", and so glad we did. It seemed like a "locals" favorite, and lots of people in and out, ordering to go, and also to dine in . Huge Pizza by the slice, but we had a Philly Cheesesteak (excellent), and a chicken salad sandwich, which my husband raved about. And get a piece of cake or cheesecake to go -- all was very reasonable. So glad we stopped here.

OCP was two blocks from my hotel and I was in town for a full week. First night in town I wandered in and got their Italiano steak sandwich. Excellent food and the price was very good. The lady who took my order told me the sandwich was enough for a meal by itself, I didn't need to order anything else with it. She was right! Twice I got the "Old City Special" Stromboli. It's got a bunch of meat and some veggies in it. Incredible! And it also was enough for a meal without need for anything else. My third visit I got the chicken parmigiana sub sandwich. This sandwich was a little bland. It was my least favorite meal of four there but it was still decent. This is a small local place (I like those) with maybe 10 tables. It is situated a little out of the city center area so it appears most of the customers are the local folks. I find if the local folks keep coming back, it can't be too bad. In this case the locals really know because it was good enough to go back. Price was very reasonable. With the meal and a soda each night I don't think paid over $11 any night. I will be back to OCP next time I'm in town.

I stayed a few blocks away and arrived late, looking to grab some late-night snack around 11pm. Old City Pizza & Restaurant was located conveniently nearby, and were one of the few places that were open, thus an easy choice. I had a Philly Steak Sandwich which was good - but not mindblowingly amazing. However, for the price, location and quality they definitely deserve a 4/5 rating.

This is like a mix of Mystic Pizza and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. The family owns and operates it and it is fun to see the interaction between them. The food is good and made to order. A lot of people came in to get take out orders and they seem to be regulars. The food is good, nothing fancy, but good. It's not a large place, but it is fun. Family friendly.

I popped in here for a late lunch as I was site seeing in the City. The waitstaff didn't seem to concerned with customers. My drink was empty and no refill was offered. I went up to pay (no bill had been given to me) and I stood at the counter while the two ladies behind the counter talked. Uhhhhhh not cool. The food? I ordered a Turkey Panini. It was standard. There was nothing to make it stand out from anything else. The price was comparable so I can't say anything about that!

We got in late and looked for a quick bite and found this place on Arch Street. Nice young lady waited on us, pizza was very good, though no beer/wine. Simple good food, thanks.

No ambiance. No personality with the wait staff, but this food is great! The pizza and wings were the best, and the baklava to die for! Reasonable prices and mouth watering food!

Family owned establishment that really caters to everyone. Good food for a good price. The pizza pies are great, better than an individual slice. The mega slice is big but not huge. Do yourself a favor and order the fries, you'll feel better afterwards. The hot heroes are excellent, someone else's Greek salad looked delicious. My one negative is they really need to stop leaving out the spray bottles of cleaners (Clorox, fantastic...) on various surfaces, it's a health violation because it shouldn't be near ready to eat food.

Came across this place on a walking tour of old town Philadelphia and was pleasantly surprised. We had all 3 soups that were available and they were all homemade and very good. Also ordered the spanakopita and it was fantastic! Wish I had more time to try the pizzas that they served there. While we were there a tour bus and a UPS driver stopped in for lunch: good sign since they must know where the best food is! Great food at a great price!

Just stopped in for a slice and was so disappointed. The charge for a slice with sausage 3.51. The woman took my money without saying a word. Then another woman who looked miserable handed me my slice and said not a word. What a sad environment. If your not happy with your job then please stay home. The slice was okay buy not worth the vibe.

My husband and I had lunch here after touring the Betsy Ross Home. It is conveniently located 2 doors down, right across the street. A very clean restaurant with comfortable seating. We ordered the Philly steak sandwiches with 7 oz. of fresh, extra lean top sirloin, served on a long Italian roll. Served with a choice of cheese and added toppings at an additional charge. We are big eaters but we struggled to finish the sandwich. Probably a good idea to split it. The pizza looked delicious with an abundance of toppings. A good variety of choices on the menu such as Stromboli, triple decker clubs, hoagies & grinders, deli sandwiches, burgers, paninis, Greek specialties, wings, quesadillas, Italian specialties, salads and a breakfast menu. Reasonable prices. Our Philly steaks was $10.50. Served hot and freshly made. Excellent service. A must stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Opens at 11:00. Delivery service available.

Seated quickly, ordered quickly, food was great and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend! Pizza, fries and cheesesteak were all super!

I am west coast. This was my first pizza on the east coast. A slice and a coke was 6 bucks. Really good pizza. Mama running the place offered me a knife and fork. Is that an east coast thing?

Nice menu- a variety of Italian and Greek dishes. Nothing pretentious- good food at a fairly reasonable price. Offers take-out and delivery.

I stopped here while walking back to my office. Had side salad and slice of pizza. Both were larger than I expected. Good and definitely filled me up. Clean and reasonable priced for quick lunch. Would recommend and return.

Food was very good, ordered a slice and got almost half a pizza. Great variety on the menu. The server Roula was friendly and efficient, the only waitress but handled table, to go, and phone orders without a hitch keeping I smile on her face the whole time. Great customer service. While I was there I saw many locals come in, which is always a good sign. I will go back and try some of the choices, but I know the pizza is great.

Don't believe the reviews that you read. We were just down for the weekend to watch the fireworks over the river in Philly and read online such good reviews about old city pizza and they delivered to our hotel. So we thought it would be great to try. So when I called and ordered the woman on the phone was extremely rude. I wanted to pay with my C.C. but she hung up on me before I could pay, So had to call back. When the food finally arrived the pizza was lukewarm at best and tasted like a frozen pizza from a box. Actually I've had better frozen pizza. We were extremely disappointed and will never order from them again.

My son and I had breakfast here and surprisingly it was satisfying. The eggs and homefries came out perfectly done! The toasts were neatly placed however I was just slightly disappointed w a coffee since I am a picky coffee drinker! We will definitely return!

Needed a quick place to eat lunch before our scheduled visit to Independence Hall. Fast, excellent service and truly delicious pepperoni pizza. Our family of three ate a whole 16" minus half a slice. The sauce and cheese really made the pizza.

We stopped here because it was close to a lot of the tourist sites. The pizza was fine but nothing to write home about. We will likely try somewhere else next time.

Doing all the walking around and wandering through all the museums works up the appetite. This place was great for a break on your feet and your wallet. They offer a "Mega-Slice" for a perfectly reasonable price. Fills your belly and does not empty your budget while picking up all those souvenirs. Found staff to be clean and polite. Bathroom was great - let's face it, you can easily lose your appetite if it isn't

We came here only because we tried to go to the Italian restaurant at the next corner and were treated so rudely we walked out. I’m so glad they did......this place is delicious. The pizza is big, and we ordered a Stromboli that could feed 20 people! The chicken and broccoli rabe hoagie is also delicious. I topped mine off with home made rice pudding. It’s really a great family style place, you won’t leave hungry or broke.

I was ready to sit down after a morning of walking around the Old City. I ordered salad and spanakopita. The salad was beautifully plated. I couldn't believe how delicious the tomato was in January! The spanakopita was freshly made in the restaurant and baked to order. Delicious! The server was very polite and helpful. The only negative was that I couldn't get a Diet Coke!

We stopped in here while walking around Old Town (just happened by and it smelled delicious). My husband and I both ordered cheesesteaks (me with onions, no whiz, his with extra whiz). They were great. Fair warning, though, if you ask for extra whiz, you get EXTRA whiz. The servers were great. A little slow as there were only 2, but that's part of the charm.

As I walked in, someone was walking out talking to someone about how their pizza is so good, almost like NYC. I was like yeah right. But it wasn't like super traditional NYC pizza, but the thin crust was really really thin. NYC usually isn't quite this thin. But I liked it. Not cracker thin, just right above that. And good sauce and cheese. I only got 2 HUGE slices but I think the best deal would have been their 16in pie for $11. Oh well, less calories. Someone else got a calzone and said it was so good! Enjoy!

A flyer for Old City Pizza (O. C. P.) was in my hotel room. It was only a 2-3 block walk from the Wyndham, so I thought I would give it a try. The first good sign was the smells-heavenly. The second good sign was it was a neighborhood restaurant filled with locals! I struck up a conversation with the lady at the counter who happened to be/related to owners. So they are Greek, running an Italian place! Pizza, Italian dishes, Greek disses & everything in between. Lots of choices & affordable. I ended up ordering a Philly Cheese Steak because that is what you are supposed to do in Philly. It was huge & yummy. They serve breakfast & it was affordable too but I never got back there to try it.

Great food. This old restaurant is located on the 3rd street very close to the Philadelphia downtown. Managed by the owner, a very nice Greek lady, who confessed, has been in the business for over 40 years! The lentil soup was great but the pizza (we had the White Primavera) was amazing. Made of fresh ingredients.

Me and a friend were doing a road trip and we parked outside this place to go have a little look around Philly and when we come back we decided to get something to eat here, Being from England I’ve never had a Philly cheese steak so just had to get one in Philly and this place just didn’t disappoint at all, best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life, never want another Philly cheese steak again unless it’s from this place because it’s just not going to compare to this place, Staff were amazing too, had a very good chat with the lady here :-))
Lunch
A great place for pizza and salad. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food! Need to get the hostess some help!
