Very Disappointed The Food Look and Taste Like Leftovers From The Day Before

By Pamela B |

My husband and I was excited to dine at OLG wanted to support Kandi and Todd doing positive things and also for some home cooked food. We were the very first customers to enter the restaurant at 12:00. My husband ordered Aunt Bertha's Fried Chicken paid extra for white meat mac and cheese and collards. I order Kandi's Original Baked Chicken white meat mac and cheese and collards. First of all my husband chicken breast was fried so hard and dry as if they had refried an old piece of chicken. Remember we were the first customers the waitress brings me 3 drumsticks and says that they are out baked white chicken the 3 drumstick look to have been sitting around for long time not fresh at all. Mac and Cheese look to reheated clumpy and brown crust as if it was scrap from the bottom of pan. The collards was old and not fresh mushy bitter taste that they over season with spicy seasoning. I never in my life went to a restaurant and was served leftover food. The lady at the door as you exit never look up she was on her phone to say Thank you. Terrible food the worst customer service ever. Kandi and Todd need to do a pop up and checkin on their investment bad news spread fast. If food and service is not properly corrected . Customers will stop coming FYI.

One and Done

This was a business meeting! First a hour wait but you can’t wait in the building period you must go outside and wait in the cold, and don’t be old! Was waiting on 1 person in party now can’t be seated cause they don’t do partial seating! As we were escorted to basement to a little room I wouldn’t allow a dog to eat in it smelled pissy the room we sat in to eat was filthy I was in disbelief a owner with her stature was running a business like this the food is not all that great, Not even hot once was served!!!!! Would not recommend and there are so many other reasons for never returning to that establishment again!!!!!!!!!! Now after we sat in the dirty establishment and ready to go now you wanna clean, SMH!!! I could go own and on!!!

That place! OLG

By Shirley W |

If the restaurant is anything like the show Kandi & The Gang, I can see why it's not working! I no longer have any desires to eat at that place! What a discombobulated mess!

Never Again

By Shelby0424 |

First visited this restaurant this week. Restaurant parking was $10.40 but I didn’t mind because I was super excited to try this place. Parking is very limited - either off street in front of the restaurant or behind it for the fee. Went inside and was seated relatively quickly. All was fine until a woman and her child came screaming out of the bathroom because they saw a cockroach in there. The waitress took our appetizer and meal orders. It took more than an hour for ONE of the TWO appetizers to come out. We asked for small plates to share the appetizers we’d ordered - THEY WERE OUT OF PLATES. An HOUR LATER, HALF of my friend’s meal (main course sans the sides) - the 2nd appetizer and my meal didn’t come. THIRTY MINUTES LATER, the second and last appetizer came out - my meal was still not out. About TWENTY MINUTES LATER, my meal came out. None of the food that came out was hot, only warm. When we paid, we noticed an 18% tip was included in the bill. Two days later, my friend alerted me to the fact that the waitress took it upon herself to deduct an additional $5.00 for herself. I checked my credit card and she took $5.00 for herself off of my credit card as well. THAT IS STEALING - THEFT. Tried calling both publicly published phone numbers for the restaurant — BOTH go to voicemails that are always full. Will never go to another OLG restaurant again.

Horrible experience do better value your customers

I went to Camp Creek Marketplace most horrible experience I have a service dog for a medical issue I was told that the owners do not allow a dog whether it's a service dog or not I have his paperwork and his ID card showing that he was a true service dog after asking for a manager someone came out but the original waitress was so nasty and disrespectful after showing her his ID card that he was legit and it was a federal offense to not allow me to have the dog she then made an exception wow the food then took over an hour to get waiter was okay would never patronize this place again you have to do better just because you're black doesn't mean that you are allowed to treat people the way that we were treated these were friends and colleagues of mine that I met there I flew in from out of town just the worst candy do better when you know better you do better service dogs are allowed in any public establishment reading is fundamental

I was in ATL for a conference & this was a suggestion for lunch. The wait was 45 mins but it was worth it. The food was absolutely delicious. Idk what they fry the chicken in or how they make the macncheese but thee best. The atmosphere for a Saturday afternoon was live too because the DJ was everything! Service was a lil slow & parking was $10 being the downfall but I thoroughly enjoyed.

So Disappointed!

By Pretty F |

I wish that I could give it a 0. Although we got seated right away the host said that he had a long day and needed his cocktail that was in his hand while seating us. I was not impressed with the food and on top of that it was an 18% gratuity charge on the bill and when asked about it the waitress said that it’s split between them, the host and the bartenders. I have never heard of that unless it’s a party of 6 or more. It was my first and LAST time at OLG.

Amazing

By LaTisha H |

Food and drinks were amazing. Originally went on a Sunday and it was a 2 hour wait. Went back on Tuesday and was seated immediately. The fried chicken was amazing!!!!

THE WORST MEAL EVERRRR!!!

By Joyce E |

This place is overrated! The service is terrible. The Mr. Maimmmm hostess was RUDE and he even bumped my arm with a bar stool and didn’t even say excuse me.. he proceeded to say that he didn’t bump me then he got real spicy with me say “Well excuse me then mommy”.. SMH!!! We ordered a breast and wing dinner which was $7 extra compared to dark meat and they didn’t even give us the breast. They said that it was coming out and guess what.. it never happened. Once I mention it to the server, he said that they would discount the meal… Guess how much they discounted $2.90. The food was cold. The banana pudding was nasty. The devil eggs were nasty. The rib tips were nasty… Just take my whole my word. The whole meal was disgusting. A complete waste of our hard earned money. On top of all this.. they only have one bathroom that gave us “Gas Station Vibes “. Such a shame. I would advise you not to waste your money and time.

Disappointed

By Rashida N |

Unfortunately this food was not good. I was very happy to patronize a black own establishment. I must say the place very clean and the young man who waited in us was very nice and attentive to our needs. I ordered the Todd drink which was very good. So good I had 2. As for my food Well thats a different story. Let's get into some thangs.. Aunt Bertha platte Hmm The chicken tasted like Himalayan salt tablets I could barely get thru a bite. The greens tasted like a sweet and sour patch with dry shredded up chips of cardboard. The mac a roni and cheese well I leave that alone because I'm not use to sweet Mac n Cheese and I wasn't impressed. But I will say that the lamb chops were good nothing to brag about but they were tasty. Needless to say if you going to OLG get 3 Todd's and the lamb chops.

Everything here was amazing.

By simplyyetta |

Everything here was amazing. There was a long wait but we manage to get seats at the bar. The staff was friendly. Food and drinks were bomb!!! Loved It!

Will never come back

By Cortney W |

The wait to sit down was 45 which was fine. We traveled 2 hours from Tennessee so we decided to wait. We ordered deviled eggs as an appetizer, it took another 45 mins to come out and it was cold. Everyone got there plates at my table expect for me. I ordered lamb chops with 2 extra sides. I understand how long it takes to cook the food but it should all come out at the same time. The server was ok but the overall service was TERRIBLE.

A STOP BY OLD LADY GANG

By Nicole D |

Olg was very delightful ‼️ Atmosphere, food and waiter's were great. The Shrimp and grits always look soooooo tasteful on the menu only problem is I hate grits BUT they allowed me to substitute grits for potatoes which were great‼️ Definitely in my return list...

Great airport find!!

By KIMBERLY W |

We had an amazing lunch here on the way home from the airport. You must try the salmon bites appetizer. We also had the “LIT” drink and the Reggae. They were very good. Jamie did a fantastic job of giving us recommendations and service. We will be back.

OLG - Ol’ Skool Church Eat’s

By Sunshyne |

We were very excited to visit OLG almost missed our flight. The Venue is cute and quaint. The Bar had good cocktails however the food was subpar. It may have been a one off but when you think comfort food you think nice helpings. Some side dishes are served in a little 3oz cup. I know it’s pandemic however minute servings along with over cooked cold food. The concept is nice , I just think the people managing are trying to save money rather than retain customers. We ate onsite and took food Togo and it was like leftovers. It’s a simple fix and I would definitely try again.

Don’t waste a moment of your time Energy or money

I came to Atlanta from Chicago overly excited about visiting this place. Myself and my 2 kids waited outside on a Monday from 130 until 3 just to enter. Once we did we were taken to a patio out back to wait another 34 minutes to be seated at a dirty table that the server came and cleaned all 4 tables with a damp paper towel. The server then disappeared for 15 minutes came back and took a different tables order since they were closer before us knowing we were there first. After taking our full order she disappeared again for 20 minutes came back with only 2 of the 3 appetizers and our 3 drinks we waited another 15 minutes for the last appetizer which was fried okra and not hot enough to have waited that long. We could not get refills because no clean glasses were available and she wanted to take out glasses to refill. The manager came 30 minutes later with our food both plates of French toast was completely burnt and the greens were dried out. I totally refused the pay for French toast and it took her 30 minutes to locate the manager to adjust so they discounted those 2 meals but I WILL NEVER RETURN and would advise you all never to go

The food and service was great. The restaurant was clean with a family friendly atmosphere. We really enjoyed our visit.

Don’t waist your sanity!!!

By Amber M |

The only southern restaurant I visited in Atlanta for my my first trip and OLG was garbage!! Waited outside for 2 hours in the hot sun. Finally got seated only to wait another whole hour to eat some basic food that I could get anywhere else. It wasn’t even nice inside! It was dirty with cheap decor. Don’t say I didn’t warn you..

Dry and tasteless

By Natasha D |

My friend and I were expecting some tasty soul food. Quite the contrary. The food took forever and the food was dry dry dry, and zero flavor. The hostess was oblivious to us exiting. The bathrooms were dirty and tagged up with graffiti . I felt like we were in a NYC college bar.

Terrible & disappointed, expected better

By Excursion53985597310 |

Husband and I visited the OLG restaurant (Peters St location) on Sept. 7 th 2023 . The place looked old & rundown. We were seated pretty quickly because business was slow ( only one other couple was dining) the ( male) host seated us & no one came to check on us or to take our order, so after sitting for 30 minutes without any service, we got up and left & proceeded to go find another restaurant to dine in for an early dinner. We were on a vacation ( from Texas) & decided to dine at OLG because I am a fan of Xscape ( Kandi) & of H'wives of ATL . We were very disappointed with the staff & the whole experience. Staff needs to learn customer service skills & learn how to clean the establishment. Dining tables and chairs were raggedy, outdated and mismatched colors - this place needs to be remodeled and upgraded. This place does not deserve the one star/ dot that was given. So basically the only staff we saw was the host that sat us and the woman working the bar upon entry of the restaurant and a guy working security ( his black t-shirt) said security on it) & his clothes were dirty. Wouldn't recommend this place to family/ friends

Security Guard

By latonia s |

Was in town on 11/19/2021 wanted to try. Was unable to enter because I coughed. I tried to explain the I have Congested Heart Failure and have all my shot completed even booster which cause to me cough once and while. The guard informed me if I cough one more time that I would not be able to enter. so, I told the young lady to remove my name. This flash light cop was rude and crazy. He is so worried about me how do I know that he's not a carrier.

Long wait time and subpar food

By Passenger01123774181 |

Second time patronizing restaurant. Sad to write, but will not return or recommend. Long wait time despite 30% occupancy on a Friday night! Hostess didn’t text after 30 minute wait time quoted to us. We entered restaurant after waiting 45 minutes but was kindly greeted and seated by hostess. Waited 15 minutes before asking an employee who was assigned to our table. Bree was our waitress but she was on double duty as a bartender and waitress. She apologized and swiftly took our order. However, our meal took forever to arrive and was lukewarm. Two tables with a party over 2 or more received their food before us. Old, sticky, cheap black carpet. One unisex restroom for restaurant, very unkempt without toilet paper. Restaurant overdue for a total overhaul especially staffing, meal preparation and communication. Flies caught in front window curtains, swatted fruit flies buzzing around our table all night. Black owned businesses need patronage and should exceed expectations especially in competitive food industry.

Bartender, Manager and Food Horrible

By Shenia M |

Sat at the bar. Customer next to us was complaining about her food and did not eat it. Bartender threw food in the trash behind the bar and all over the floor. Did not wash her hands. Only when rinsing off glasses. Ordered fried green to notes and grill chicken salad chicken well done and to go food. Ate green tomatoes. Ok. While waiting over an hour for salad. Noticed others at the bar not eating their food. When salad came out. Looked and tasted reheated and dry for $17 bucks. Told bartender this is not correct. She went to the back never came back. She sent some lady who really never identified herself. Stated you have to pay for this. I said absolutely not. She stated that was the policy. Apparently they get a lot of customers who do not like their food. Also Bartender was dressed so inappropriate no underwear with see through leggings. She spilled a large amount of liquor at the bar. The bill was $140.00 We returned everything and my Neice paid for the salads and fried tomatoes only. Total Rip off. So unprofessional and the food was horrible. Do not recommend and would not eat there again. Actually it gives the entire plaza a bad look Customer Service is unavailable. Do not waste your time and don’t b fooled

AVOID! So many other good restaurants don’t waste your money on this one.

Absolutely awful. Such a disappointment. Just don’t waste your money. Food average, staff rude and restaurant dirty!

Dining with friends.

By Sherricka B |

When we arrived, we parked in the parking lot. The driveway is horrible and almost tore up my car That is a problem that need to be fixed asap. The parking attendant didn't seem to care that my car was scraping on the bad driveway. The food was good. But she of the servers are very rude and ghetto. Needs upgrading on the inside with different tables and decor. Food was good tho. I love Kandi and I want to see this restaurant continue to thrive.

The service is horrible and I was only here for a to go order; had to find hostess and then waited for the bar tender, bit had to go find her after waiting paitently to no avail...They have the nerve to charge an automatic gratuity of 18%...When i needed to ask the lady a question, she acted like she had an attitude..I hope the food is better than the service..either way I won't be back..I came to write the review while I waited, and realized how many others also complained

Over 500 miles to be disappointed

By Lorraine H |

We were in ATL for a family trip and knew that we had to visit the OLG diner…….what a disappointment. We arrived at 7:45 pm or so and was told it would be. 30 minute wait for seating. We agreed to wait, and we ended up only waiting about 15 minutes or so. Unfortunately. The wait was the best part of our visit as we were able to get some photo ops in. Once we got seated, all the disappointment began to happen. It took 20 or so minutes after ordering to get our drinks. Then the waitress came back and took our order. I could tell she was inexperienced and really wasn’t very hospitable., But not to call her rude. We ordered appetizers all at the same time and half came out. I had to ask again for my appetizer which came nearly after an hour of ordering and it arrived Luke warm. After 1.5 hours had passed and no meal, I summoned one of the waiters to get a manager as by that point it was late, They were locking up and nearing closing time. A female manager came out and I explained our issue to her. She apologized and agreed to give us half off our bill. At that point I hold her that I did not want anymore and was just ready to go and pay for the drinks and appetizers we had already consumed. She asked if we could wait a few minutes as she and one other cook were the only kitchen preparers (not my fault might I add that they were short staff!ed). After about 15 or so minutes she came out with take out containers …. She stayed she would discount our bill 50%., but after we saw the bill there was no discount at all. As a matter of fact we were over charged and also had an 18.25% gratuity for 3 people added to each of our bill. I usually trip pretty good, but the good not the service was tip worthy. Big disappointment as we drove over 500 miles to dine here. Once was enough for me !

Great Experience

By Chamel T |

We absolutely enjoyed everything about this OLG restaurant! The crab cake & fried green tomatoes were our starters. The fried chicken dinner with smashed potatoes & yams and fried Alaskan white fish with Mac & cheese and collard greens were our entrees. Good, down home cooking is all I can say. Aunt Nora even blessed us with her presence, as she greeted the customers! Definitely returning to this spot on our next visit!

This is what all restaurant food should be

BEST EVER

By Living4theweekend88 |

THE BEST SOUTHERN EATING EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD AWAY FROM HOME. Flavorful, hot and just plain delicious. As good, if not better, than some of my families home cooking. I'll definately recommend and make a special trip to come back to enjoy great cooking. I live many states away.

FOOD WAS UNBELIEVEABLE TERRIBLE............

By Shannon P |

MY family went to the OLG restaurant on 05/18/2021 and the food was terrible. The collard greens was too too salty, mac and cheese was dry, crab cakes was to most and the fish had no seasoning. My family and I did tell the waitress and manager about our complaint and they both just looked at us. They did not take any money off the bill. We could not even eat our meal, but we still paid full price for it. I could not believe that a fish dinner was one piece of fish and it cost us $9.95 so to me that was $10.00 dollars for one piece of fish unbelievable. Our meal came to $88.00 plus tip and we could not even eat our dinner. SHAME on you OLG..We drove all they way from Stockbridge Ga to eat at your restaurant, but you can believe that we will not GO there again..NEVER..........

I wanted it to be great.😔

By Anna L |

I wanted it to be great because I love Kandi, but it was just average. The staff were sweet, but the food took a while and my appetizer came out with my meal. I was excited about the fried deviled eggs but they were dry. The bbq on the fried green tomato was cold. My friend ordered the shrimp and grits and she was happy. You can’t buy shirts in the store, you have to order them online, that’s no fun. An 18% gratuity is added to all tickets no matter the size of the party. Next time I’ll try Blaze.

We finally are here. I wanted

By Vicky A |

We finally are here. I wanted the PERFECT spot to celebrate after Wills 94 y/o mothers home going as she was a true SOUTHERN cook. THIS PLACE far EXCEEDED any and everything that I was expecting. We had the deep fried deviled eggs, crab cakes and the fried chicken with collards, Mac & cheese and cornbread. Let me tell you. ...It was all PERFECTLY SEASONED, chicken fried to perfection, greens tender and a bit of sweetness, mac & cheese insane. Cornbread, a touch of sweetness. I mean this was a 5***** meal. Hands DOWN. The ambiance brought it all together. Perfect celebration.

Not worth your time.... Read review for details.

By Alaina A |

The service was terrible in my opinion. The staff was collectively standing at the front desks and looked at me and my guest for at least a minute before even speaking. There were two tables open and no wait. Yet the host wanted to make us wait until a table for two got up... Just to sit us at one of the open tables five minutes later. after being sat, waited 15 minutes to greeted by the server who was standing at the hostess stand. A table that came in at least 30 minutes after us got appetizer and drinks still in a terrible time frame but no we're near as bad as ours. current situation right still waiting on my entree and it's been an hr. If I could give the service zero ⭐ TRUST ME I WOULD. I would recommend they definitely go through server training. Even, If they come to my town to get it. There are time frames for greet , eating, and exceeding the guest experience. "THIS AIN'T IT"... Oh look while I'm writing this the server (who never gave me her name, but I'll figure it out) just now came and said our food should be coming out they are just waiting on fresh chicken. Tf... Are they gonna go catch it and kill it??? All I have to say is I hope the food is worth the 1hr and a half travel and the what seems like may be 3 hr wait. But definitely working on 2hrs right now. 🤦🏿‍♀️ Pathetic. Also, the table is not stable all. It literally spins and leans. That sorry excuse saying we make it fresh doesn't work with someone like me farm to table doesn't even take that long. Hell this is freezer to table and taking forever. I expected black excellence even in the hospitality/ restaurant realm for this restaurant. But quite frankly this establishment is not exuding that. Ohhh wow so found out the serves name. Mind you the serve was very combative and confrontational after we received our food and it took them forever to come assist. She told us that we had an attitude from the moment we sat down but the rest of the staff said and thought otherwise. This was quite pathetic. We did get our food discounted 20% which wasn't. I did ask that they remove the gratuity and I'll pay cash to the people who were nice to us. Needless to say I spent 40 on food and gave out 30 dollars in a tip to the door man and the host and busser who came and diffused the situation and showed empathy for the situation. I would not recommend this place unless they were to do a total crash course training. The food was decent but not worth the wait, the price, or the rude terrible experience in general from the staff.

A waste

By Tasha |

First we were told our name had to go on the waitlist. Wait was an hour. We asked if we could wait outside seeing we were not from ATL and had to catch Lyft there. We were told no. After an hour we went back in to check how much longer. Was told another hour. Thirty minutes later the hostess came out and had us come in. We finally got seated. We ordered the chicken dinner. I had dark. Friend had white. Soda (coke) was watered down. Food came and chicken was old. Not hot or crispy. Mac n cheese was very dry. Smashed potatoes were ok. Cornbread old and dry. Very disappointing. I thought it would be more upscale with great tasting food. While eating we noticed people were allowed in before their tables were ready.

Crazy Long wait time! Food was somewhat decent.

By Camille T |

Hostess and waitress service was poor. They really could careless that our table of 8 adults were even there. Visiting from Minnesota. We waited 1.5 to 2 hours at the bar. The restaurant was half full due to Covid restrictions. But the wait time was still crazy long. After 2 hrs we were finally seated, but waited another 1.5 hours for our food. Compared to Minnesota their soul food was good. Not excellent but good. However, the portion sizes were small for the price. I would Not return nor recommend due to the poot service, long wait and small portions.

Good Eats, Great Service!

I got a chance to visit Old Lady Gang on my visit to Atlanta recently and I was very pleased. Upon entering we were greeted and quickly seated. Our waitress was very kind and courteous. For an appetizer I ordered the fried devil eggs and they were scrumptious. For my entree I ordered the blackened honey glazed salmon which came with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was delicious. I also ordered a side of mac n cheese which I didn't really care for but it wasn't disgusting. Tasted ok! The highlight of my visit to Old Lady Gang was meeting and talking a pic with one of the faces of the "Gang"...Aunt Nora. She was the sweetest person!!

Highly Disappointed

By Monique W |

My family visited from NC and was highly disappointed by the wait time and professionalism. It took almost 5 hours to be seated, order, receive food and eat. The food was good but not worth the wait. We considered reserving a room at Blaze but decided not to invest another dime in this chain of restaurants. This restaurant is clearly understaffed. Needless to say, this will be our last time dining at OLG.

Service & Appearance was Horrible

By Tarsha R |

This was totally opposite of what I expected. I was very disappointed with my entire experience. We visited this location in February and had to wait at least 45 minutes before being seated. Not because it was extremely packed because tables were available. It was because there was only one person working the floor and the bar tender helped occasionally when he was not busy. Not to mention several tables were available but had not been cleaned off. The restaurant looked uninviting all together. Then when we finally sat down, it took another 20 minutes for us to get water or our orders taken. Once the waiter came to take our orders, he provided us with a list of food items, like 6/7 that they ran out of which limited our options. Of course what they ran out of is what we came for smh. My party of four was not pleased with the taste of the food, the appearance of the food and the lack of professionalism from the entire staff. I would NEVER recommend this location to anyone and I wish I had went to another restaurant to eat. This was an EPIC fail!!! Please DO NOT waste your precious time by visiting this particular location. I can't speak on the other OLG locations. I did visit Blaze the following evening and had a much better experience. Food and service was much better but still not what I had imagined. I'm still grateful that I was able to take this trip and visit a few places that I had in mind.

Very Disappointed and Dissatisfied

By Judy B. |

My sister, nieces and their friends came into town and were very excited to eat at your establishment. However, we aawere Not pleased at all! Don’t get me wrong, the service was fine even though the wait staff seemed rushed and overbooked (tables). After waiting oven an hour because we were in a party of 10, we were finally seated. After we received drinks, our waiters informed us of ALL the food you all didn’t have...it wasn’t even 6:00 pm. He said you were out of collard greens, candied yams, rice and peas, cabbage, AND beef...no sliders or burgers. That’s most of your menu. One of the waitresses made a comment to us that the “person” responsible for ordering for the restaurant “forgot” to place the order. This was just not acceptable. One thing about me is that I give restaurants a chance. Needless to say, I won’t be returning. First impressions are always lasting with me. I had already heard mixed reviews (more negative) about your restaurant. Finally, whomever is cooking and battering the fish, PLEASE tell them to hold the salt. It was SO salty to the point it Wasn’t edible. No kidding. Sorry for this review, but I had to put it out there. If Black owned businesses are to be supported, then make sure you are giving your best at all times and hire reliable employees...

ToDo List ✅

By Stephanie C |

Small portions (little chicken wings) and very pricey. The food was decent and hotly fresh though. To automatically add the 18% gratuity is what pissed me! Then when I gave my money for payment the waitress asked if I wanted my change back. Me: why yes I do!!! I couldn’t even get a to go cup of water and plasticware to finish eating my food back at my hotel room, as I was in town visiting. At least have to go cups and plasticware in the place. They should know that folks be wanting a cup of water to go. I can now say that I have been here and may not have to visit again.

NO! Just don't do it. Seriously...

By BIG O Speaks M |

NO! Just don't. So many reasons, just save your time, or admit when you do, that I told you so. ☹️ Since it insists that I say more than 100 characters. I will say that there's a really cute picture of a father and his baby boy in the one restroom they have there. The words expressing the thoughts of the baby on it, alone are worth seeing. He's so cute 😍 I found the waiter pleasant enough in his/her greeting, but not very helpful in their actual service. The food was ok, but not nearly worth the cost. The strawberry lemonade tasted like regular pink lemonade and they refused to credit mine back or offer me another drink in its place. My mom took a half of a teaspoon of her peach cobbler and didn't like it, they also refused to take that off the bill. The manager actually came to the table and said that. It was a very disappointing experience for us, as we are fans of the owners. As president of Mercedes Financial Corporation, and our stadium being right down the street from there, I was hoping to add them to the list of preferred caterers and corporate lunch sites, but I dare not now. Hopefully this review will give them the opportunity to really evaluate themselves and improve to where I can.

Family trip

By Atlanta n |

the service was very; the waitress asked me would I like my money back due to my meal time wait was over 1hr. Kandi make too much money for this fooliness. No longer a fan.

Ms

By Shannan T |

Was told the wait would be 1 hour we waited over 2 hours. Finally get seated and the food comes out more than an hour later. Everyone around my table was receiving food that came in after us. We finally addressed our waitress and was told the hold up was the shrimp. But they were going to continue to let us wait. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

A True and Accurate Review

By ShellyCanCan |

Went with a group of 5 (including myself). We didn’t have to wait long for our table. Once you walk into OLG don’t expect a warm smile (true of most black owned businesses). We waited a long time for our food. So our food was not served hot at all. The Mac n Cheese- You can tell they keep it under a heating lamp. But the taste was very good The Greens- The greens were awesome!!!! They weren’t tough or tangy. Sweet Potato Soufflé- Amazingly Great!!!!! Sweet Tea- The bomb!!!!!! Fried Deviled Eggs- Never had before so didn’t know what to expect. I’m sure when served hot there great. By time they were served the eggs were chewy. Fried Catfish Nuggets- Seasoned very well. I LOVED the sauce that is served with the catfish. I’m sure if the food would have been served hot my review would have been better. I must say, if you go in with two people in your party, if won’t take long for your food to come out. We arrived at OLG around 6:30pm. We were worried that they may not seat us because the restaurant looked small from the street but low and behold they have two floors for dining so seating is not a problem. You’ll have to tell them to refill your drinks The location is great and this restaurant needs to make only a few changes for an almost 5 star. I’ll give a five star to our people supporting this black owned business. Way to go Candy!!!!!! All in All....... Not bad for the food not being hot!!!! I would defiantly go back next time I’m in Atlanta.

Great food great service!!

We came to Atlanta for our first anniversary and enjoyed our stay. The food was delicious and our sever did a wonderful job. Didn’t have to wait to be seated. I recommend this place!! Will be back when I come to Atlanta again!

Disappointed

By Elva J |

Came to ATL from NOLA due to Hurricane Ida my daughter and I decided to stop by Lady OLG for lunch and was very disappointed with 18% charge added to bill plus tax, so I ask the waitress was this gratuity and she stated no and she doesn’t receive anything from the service fee, I was stunned . What restaurant charges a service fee? The food was just mediocre too me, not impressed at all total cost for 2 people 93.00 and we are not big eaters!

OLG Visit January 2020

Overall, I’d say it was a good experience. The food well we’ll prepared. I’d recommend the fried deviled eggs to anyone. The Mac and cheese was the best think I ate.

Old lady gang

By Donna G |

My first time visiting Atlanta first place I wanted to try out was olg it was really hard to find a parking spot then we was told we had to pay $10 to park in the back of the restaurant it wasn’t very clean back there so we said ok because we really wanted to come in and eat once we got inside we was seated in the down stairs part of the restaurant that looked like a basement it was very cold had no heat someone brought in a space heater which did not work it was still cold the food was ok I had aunt Nora fried chicken which was really good the deep fried deviled eggs was good the Mac and cheese was alright it did taste like the frozen kind my sister had the cheese burger plate with fries the burger was a little burnt when she asked for ketchup for her fries was told they was out so she couldn’t finish her food the alcoholic drinks was too pricey I had Todd’s margarita it was to strong I was really excited about eating there and it kind of let me down a bit on a positive note the staff was really really nice

Improve Service; I want to support you!

By Aisha W |

Local and decided to visit OLG Peter St at 11pm this evening. First and only encounter was a young lady at the hostess desk with no greeting and an unfriendly face. This coupled with the young lady's unenthused 45 minute wait encouraged us to patronize elsewhere. Please address as I love to support businesses that welcome my business. I'm am a RHWOA fan with a strong interest in supporting our businesses. Unfortunately, I walked away disappointed.

When I say EVERYTHING I MEAN EVERYTHING was great!!! This is definitely a must eat!!! Came all the way from Chicago & enjoyed every bite even the crab cake!!!

Long way to go for nothing!

By dianna h |

Came to Atlanta from Wisconsin to see a Friend and was really excited to go to OLG. Service sucked we watched as our waitress vanished and two other table were sat and served. Didn't get our cornbread till at the end with our bill after requesting them multiple times. All the food except for my hockey puck burger wasn't to bad. It's Really too bad, when visiting 😕 I really wouldn't recommend going.

Worst!!! Restaurant Experience

By NYCrazy |

This was the worst restaurant I have been to in a long time. I mean it checked all the boxes. It was dirty, rude staff, closed early, weird neighborhood location, no social distance signs, no one in mask, etc. It was a huge disappointment because I was really excited about visiting this place. We walked in and the hostess looked at us like, we had NO RIGHT to come through the door. She rudely and promptly told us they were closed and not taking to-go orders either. Wow! You would think a restaurant would want to be open for business. Nevertheless, the floor was dirty and the tables looked awful. It’s probably best we didn’t eat there.

A Disappointment

By ebmkdm1 |

The food just wasn't good. What was suppose to be a sweet potato souffle was just smashed sweet potatoes with way too much nutmeg or something. It just wasn't fit to eat . Collard green and mac cheese came out cold. Chicken was ok but pricey , would've been better hot. Long as it took for food to come out it at least should've been hot. I ordered Bertha's chicken paid extra for white meat , u thought a breast came with it. . I got 4 whole wings, collards, and mac cheese $28 all which were cold and paid extra for a side(sweet potato souffle )that wasn't fit to eat.

I will never visit again - Poor managerial and kitchen service. Good food.

By Chris J |

The food quality is good. Service from waitress was fine. Took over 1hr and 20 minutes for fried chicken and salmon to arrive to our table. The waitress communicated to me at 1hr that there was a mixup in the kitchen and it would be another 15-20minutes. I asked to speak to the manager and I was disappointed with her reaction and response. Manager told us at 1hr of waiting that this is normal, even though this was lunch and not a busy crowd. When I express my level of dissatisfaction she tried to explain to me that I do not understand restaurants inner workings. Surprisingly to her, I dine very often and work in operations. The level of disrespect and words to demean me were very unprofessional. I hope this review is shared with the owners and they work on the kitchen operation and hold a professional development training with their managers. This will be my last time visiting this restaurant. Camp creek location operation is very tight and on a busy day after church service, the food came out in less than 30minutes.

Cold Food with built in gratuity of 18%

By Kesa Guest Ticker |

Get rid of the $10 parking fee, because there is no valet!!!! Get rid of the 18% gratuity, that guests aren’t aware of until they get the bill…it’s not on the QR Code Menu. Bring out fresh hot food! Everyone around us complained of get cold food!!!! Get quality silverware with a knife, no knife came with the fork and glasses instead of plastic cups! We want to support black owned, but this type of place and service is why we seek other!!! We will never return and will tell others not to. Out of town Guests! Kesa Guest Tucker

Don't waste your time, money or gas-Not worth It-Run away

By G S |

We were in Atlanta for the Woman Thou Art loose Conference Sept-21st-24th. We were so excited to go to the Old Lady Gang to eat. Big mistake and let down. The food was lousy and expensive. The three of us were charged 18% gratuity for bad service. The server never came to check on us after taking our order. The food was room temp and tasty like something my teens could have cooked. One of my friend had the rib tips and most of them were so hard and burned she could not eat them. The chicken tasted old. I had the crab cake which was more like crab filler. Don't let me get started on the interior of the place. There are holes in the white brick and the place is small. I know there is know why Kandi know this as she takes pride in all she does. I will never go back unless there are drastic changes to the food, place and the servers.

FOOD AND SERVICE WAS GOOD

By Kenny M |

I agree that the parking is overpriced, perhaps $5 would be better because the lot is crumbled up and tree sap falls everywhere. The food was really good, but Lukewarm. The waitress complained that the 18^% tip has to be shared, but we gave her a 30% tip. I think the 18% gratuity is great because black people will not tip without it. Just try and make the experience great but the Parking is ghetto.

Thought it would be better

By Ken P |

We had wanted to eat at the OLG since it opened. Maybe we should not have waited so long. The actual restaurant needs a good deep cleaning, the windows cleaned and other structural things you will see in the pictures. We came in about 12:20 pm today and we were one of the four tables with customers. The food took about an hour to come out and getting drink refills just as long. My spouse ordered a drink that needed agave and the bar tender could not access it. She tried but whoever needed to get it or unlock it was not available. The food for the price was very much overpriced. I felt based on advertisement the food would be homemade. The burger I ordered came straight out of a bad they purchased somewhere. My spouse ordered shrimp and grits and there was nothing southern about them. They had a Smokey task or something. The table next to use received their food and immediately told the server it was cold. I am not sure they have management or not. It appeared there was not any! Also why not sale merchandise.. all they had was coffee mugs… totally all way around disappointing!

I HOPE YOU READ THIS REVIEW KANDI

By Anonymous |

I visited the location on December 22, 2021, at approximately 2:30-3:00pm . I ordered the barbecue wings for appetizer and I had the chicken and french toast main course . The food was AMAZING . My only probably was the waiter/ service . there was not many people and the waiter could not keep my glass filled and threw out some of my left overs ( long story). and they seem like they were having an issue or dispute in back with coworkers . Kandi , i’m sure many people would be happy to work for you . Staff not professional and friendly . This is your business . This is a easy fix . Hire people that care and want to work . I hope you read these comments . A+ rating for food . Please fix your staff or hire new staff who appreciate it . It almost seem like staff is friends and family ????

Terrible

By bernard J |

I've dined here a few years ago and the service and food was good. I had a friend in town and we went there on Sunday for dinner and not only did we wait almost 2 hours for our food, the food was disgusting. The chicken was cooked in old grease, I ordered mashed sweet potatoes and found mac and cheese an collard greens in it as well. Very bad service. I was embarrassed to had recommended the spot.

Manager needed for this place!

By Connie |

Definitely won’t be back unless I’m picking up Togo and even then it’s a huge maybe! The food was amazing drinks were good but the service and customer care could use some work. I know hospitality isn’t a career for everyone but geez! Our server Lala was kind and courteous but the management was very sub par. Instead of hearing out my complaints she just said let me get your server. As a manger my self I found this completely unprofessional. You’re managing so manage. If your kitchen is backed up you go back there and help! Food or drinks need to be run run them. It seemed like there was absolutely no team work whatsoever every bartender and server for themselves. Also if you’re not a regular be prepared to wait at least an hour before you eat. The owner Kandie was the reason we went in because my mother in law watches her show. Apparently this has been a problem on the show as well. I think it’s time she hired a new manager.

Don’t waist hrs of your time on OLG

By shelly p |

We drove 200 hundred miles to wait 4 hrs to get mediocre food . I was pretty bombed about the service and food but my husband was outright disgusted. Cast berry OLG was a real disappointment After waiting all those hours they had no fried eggs one of the main reasons I wanted to go nor did they have crab cakes as the waiter explained... SMH I had the fish it was ok but it took a hour to get to me he had the ribs the sauce was 2 sweet he stated and both our sides where cold ... Shock and Disappointment and him making up jokes all the way home about us waiting 4 hrs to eat food that was below par let just say since I was the one insisted we go there I was quite as a mouse on the ride home just SMH All the way there ...

Not friendly.

By Chris C |

So this place was terrible. I order my food sat down. Unfortunately my kids did not want to finish food cus of being full, normal right. So I politely asked for a box they said they do. It allow that. So I asked for a refund because if I can’t take what I bought then refund me. They called the cops like punks when I would not leave.

Delicious southern dining

By Chantel A |

I was honestly shocked at how good the food was. The food and the service was amazing. If visiting the area I definitely would recommend this restaurant especially if you like soul food. It was very clean and the the environment was friendly.

2nd Time was NOT a Charm

By Angela D |

This was my 2nd time going to OLG & the food was not as good as the 1st time. I originally went in January for my birthday with my sisters and the food was AMAZING, but the service was not. Our waitress was rude and did not provide good customer service at all. Management was kind enough to rectify the issue. This time around, the service was great but the food was not. The mac & cheese barely had cheese, my salmon was hard, and my cabbage was salty. The best part of the meal was my drink, the fried deviled eggs, and the yams. I was disappointed.

Horrible

By Nina R |

The place opened at 12noon, I was there when the doors opened for the day and The curtains were dirty the bathroom was dirty . The food took 45 minutes to come and the place wasn't busy. The sauces that came with the food wasn't ready. It doesn't seem like anything Kandi or her mom name would be on. It was a mess..smh

Ouch

By Jeanettesdaughter |

First of all, the lines out the door are meaningless. Don’t be fooled by trendiness if you go to restaurants for outstanding meals that you do not ordinarily enjoy at home, or for gracious and considerate dining in a pleasant environment! That was not my experience at OLG on several occasions with friends. What the creators/owners have is a captive audience and they know it. My overall impression is that people continue to go even during a fatal pandemic ( if they do) because they want to see and mingle with some Black stars, or be seen as one. It’s a celebrity sighting place. If that floats your boat, float on. But for fine dining on soul food, this is not the place. The rude unprofessional staff is below anything I’ve ever seen in Atlanta and that’s a hella statement for the” dirty South.”

Great restaurant for southern comfort food and a welcoming environment

By misunderstood-ashley |

I enjoyed my experience at The Old Lady Gang. The restaurant provided great service and yummy southern comfort food. The staff were very welcoming and friendly; I laughed the entire time I was there. The fried fish was soooo yummy.

worst customer service

By Kay |

I came here from Alabama and went here just out of curiosity. The dj was popping. First it takes up to 45 minutes to be seated. The host/manager did not greet us at the door. Once we were seated we ordered alcohol, then our food. The baked chicken was bland, the macaroni was awful. We had our food brought to us first and had to remind the waitress to bring our drinks she replied "Oh" let me go get that. I did not like my drink because it had way to much rum in it and asked the waitress could I change my drink she said let me ask my manager. Then she proceeds to tell me could she add syrup or pineapple juice. She refused to take back the drink or change it for a different one. All in all I was very dissatisfied in my first time experience at OLG.

Anniversary dinner

Dinner was great and Millie was the most honest server I’ve ever had 😄 the sweet potato soufflé is great and so are the lamb chops and catfish strips. Service could be faster but we enjoyed our anniversary dinner.

Do not waste your time or money

Do not waste your time. The service was terrible n the restaurant was dirty. To boot the parking sucks. After paying over 120 for a meal for 2 I received a 150.00 parking ticket from the city of Atlanta. I will Never Ever go back to this terrible restaurant

Terrible food and customer service!

By Uylanda F |

My husband and I came to Atlanta 9/9/22 just to hangout and eat. We arrived at TOLG around 7:30. Got seated right away. The hostess was exceptional professional and kind. Once seated it took over 30 minutes before the waiter appeared. We ordered our beverages and it took 30 minutes to get the beverages, we never got straws. We had to request someone locate our waiter once found they replaced him with another waiter, having to reorder our food. We did not get our food until almost 9:00pm. I ordered the blackened honey salmon and it was dry and extremely tuff. The greens terrible. My experience was terrible! They need to improve their customer service and clean up the place a little. Will not return again. Overall disappointing!

The worst experience!

By niaknowsrealty |

The worst experience in Castleberry Hills! Made reservations for 2:30pm Saturday- did not get food until 3:45pm! The food was cold, french toast burnt on one side, and one person in our party sent her food back due to being too cold- she did not get the order until we were leaving. We asked our waitress for utensils several times only to receive a fork wrapped in the clothe napkin- NO knife or spoon. We asked for a cup of ice several times and finally the manager. By 4:30 without a manager in sight we notice an older lady wiping down tables with a wet wipe. We ask if she is a manger, she states “I am the O in OLG”. Great! We express to her our struggle to which she replies “Its Saturday and we are busy, I can not say I am sorry for being busy” WHOA! Really? What a response from an owner! I will never come back to this resturant. I can handle bad service, cold food but when an owner is unwilling to correct a customer compliant- there is no hope in the other two changing! Finally the manager comes to us, and gives us a discount on the check. We paid for cold food, slow service and an indigent justified attitude.

Bad experience

Horrible experience

Staff Not Attentive to customers

By CHARLES C |

Took my wife for her graduation dinner, the food was good nothing to scream out loud about.. However the service was sloppy and not up to par.. 1st off the nice security lady took us to our table & sat us at our table I. The lower basement part of the restaurant, in which she was not a server so why was she doing two jobs? Secondly they charge a $10 fee to park at the location, heck if I am coming to spend money at your location why mill me out of an extra $10 (that was petty), thirdly the staff was so playful among each other that they could not take care of their guest including us and others guest. I closely watched as they humbled inside i room I could only guest was the supply room, ( but when the door opened u could see them standing there inside the door talking and playing, at one point there was 5 to 6 young staff members huddle inside the bar area sitting on the appliances talking and giggling. I had to stop three different staff members to get tarter sauce and to get refills on sweet tea. Fourth they automatically place an 18% gratuity charge on your order as a tip to be shared by all the staff ( I asked a staff member this) so maybe this is why you get such bad service because they are going to get paid through your gratuity tip anyway so there is no need to work hard for it…if I had to give a tip it surely would not have been 18% the staff did not deserve that much, and yes I could have probably had it removed but I tried to make myself ok with it because of two reasons they are black people like myself and secondly because we are in the Christmas season… As a suggestion the manager should occasionally go by each guest table and ask how are they doing and if the food is good and if there is anything that needs improvement, oh and I meant to mention this while dinning downstairs the music was good but if your a die hard. Christian or a church goer you would be highly offended by the uncensored music that was playing on their restaurant radio I heard music that I would omlhmlisten to in my car. But outside of that the I give it a two stars and request owner and management take control of their establishment and as Leo to say this all the staff was nice and courteous but just not attentive to the paying customers.

Friendly Hospitality...Food Okay

By Dr. A |

Due to the Covid-19 crisis we were only able to order food to go. The person who greeted us was friendly. However, the food was a bit pricey for what we received. We ordered two chicken plates and a catfish plate and paid $57. My chicken was well done on the outside but under cooked on the inside and had to be microwaved. The portion size for the catfish nuggets left much to be desired for the price, however tasted great. Because we are huge fans we will give this location another try during our next trip to Atlanta.

Brunch Style Soul Food

By MsCTWalker |

The staff provided great service. She offered recommendations and was quick to refill our drinks. There wasn’t a wait. It’s a small quaint place. The food came out in a reasonable time. The Mac n Cheese could’ve been a bit warmer but the flavor was good. The food was tasty. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely return.

*** FRAUDULANT ***

By Justyn |

*** AVOID AT ALL COSTS FRAUDULANT ACTIVITY *** Myself and 4 friends ate here and asked for the bill to be split 5 ways, each paying $60 to include tips ... they took our cards and shortly after multiple transactions for vaying amounts were pinging on our phones banking apps ... we immediately questioned this and they stated the tilll cant handle split bills and they would void/refund and recharge full amount to 1x card. Payment in full was made via 1x card but having left and reviewed statements we have all had additional charges levied, myself for 2x additional transactions totalling $200. OLG have not refunded these charges, have no intention of refunding these charges and are denying that they took place despite providing the receipts, statements showiung payment in full and all the additional charges

How can we improve?

By Tee C |

Came to Atlanta and one thing I wanted to make sure we did was stop in and support black owned business. I was Shocked and disappointed not in the staff, they were kind, but having an hour wait when u have 8 tables open literally I counted. We waited in hopes the food is worth it and still wanting to support. Please team, we need to make sure that all of the business endeavors match and exceed expectations ...To the Burras family I would advise having secret patrons show up once/ twice a month and give a full review of what they see and eat, so as to not take away from what was worked to build. I realize things can be busy/hectic at times but the focus on the business no matter how many one may have should NEVER waver. All of them should have the same ATTENTION AND FOCUS.. PLEASE

Closed before 8:00pm

By Michelle D |

My family and I were in ATL for a graduation. From Denver Colorado and Ohio We really wanted to come to your restaurant we saw online that you closed at 8:00pm we arrived at 6:00 pm and were turned away. Because you closed at 8:00 pm. We said to the hostess that it is only 6:00pm and they said sorry we are not seating anyone else. We love you Kandi but this is truly not a good experience. I hope one day to come back to Atl and get to come to your restaurant.

Na… do better

By noni203 |

Wow complete disappointment! C’mon… your business should be a reflection of who you are… like your home represents you. Your style represents your personality etc… Staff was true southern hospitality, I’ll give them that. The eldest OLG was there and was very friendly, that was a nice touch to the experience. Visiting from CT, with RI and NY as my neighbor my expectations for dinning are high, but this did not even come close. Who ever is managing the place needs to make ordering food a priority. Every other food item was not available or still on the truck or not in yet or just started to be cooked. It was 3pm on a Friday. Food took over an 1 hr for 3 people. Flavor was good but nothing that your local soul food spot isn’t whipping up. Decor…. wow talk about a thrown together mediocre effort to have a modern stylish spot that miserably failed. Cleanliness… a 5 and I am being generous. Why dirty looking carpeted flooring? Unless thats an ATL thing that I don’t know about. Bathroom was disgusting. And let’s not talk about price points. NYC 4 star prices for Mcdonald’s quality food. Her clothing store next door…. just shop at Shein.com, better prices. I don’t get it. Both places felt like they were thrown together and forgotten about.

Old Lady Gang!

By BelleNoir1971 |

While visiting Atlanta we had to stop by the infamous Old Lady Gang resturant. No reservations necessary we waited no more than five minutes to be seated. We were taken to the lower level and seated at the large bartop table. Our waiter/bartender took  our cocktail and appetizers orders. While waiting we took in all the picnic decor. We took pictures with the cute signage, and danced to the great music playing in the background. Once our food arrived we dug in. The dishes were lacked luster but i think it was due to being understaff.

OLG not so great

By Natasha M |

I was so looking forward to eating here! The first turn off was the wait. We were told 30 mins turned into almost 2 hrs. There was limited street parking, we paid $10 to park at the back of the restaurant. Drinks are a little on the expensive side $20 for top shelf, cornbread was good a lil different twist with the sauce poured over it, can’t really explain it, but it was ok. The Mac and cheese, fried chicken and collard greens was disappointing. Others in my party as the BBQ rib tips, it was ok. I didn’t try it because I don’t like BBQ sauce on my food, I rather have it on the side so I can control how much of it goes on my meat. I had deviled eggs for appetizer, it came 10 secs before the food...needless to say I carried away most of my meal! I won’t return to this location but I will try Blaze Seafood and Steak on my next trip.

Not extremely busy, but extremely slow service

By Sidney M |

Service was very slow and unprofessional. TEN DOLLAR PARKING FEE and no EV CHARGING STATION. Arrived at the OLG, $10 to park and no charging stations. Place was minimal clean. One of the OLG was sitting on a bench at the front door. Presumably, making sure business was occurring prompt and professional! Not the case! We waited over five minutes for them to decide who would tell us “someone would seat us shortly.” Eight minutes later they seated us. Seven minutes later our waitress came over and said she was working upstairs and downstairs. Seventeen minutes later we walked out the front door right pass the OLG member whose picture was on the wall. Shockingly, the waitress and another person came running to the parking lot yelling “Are you leaving because of me?” Holy Mother of God!!!!! I’m speechless!!!!! I’m returning to Louisiana, and eating at The OLG has been permanently scratched off my bucket list

Service is not on point - food is good!

By Ser |

So let me first say that the food is good! but, the reason for an average review is because the staff members are not customer oriented or customer driven, the wait time for getting your meal out to you is way too long and not to mention the wait time to get a drink which is usually what you get before your meal...the restaurant at its camp creek location is way too small and the the first impression on the come keep on the inside was not accommodating. I just thought Kandi would have really been on top of making sure the restaurant and her staff are at their best! I guess that's what a restaurant manager is getting paid for and I am sure I am not the only one that feels this way. Your team is a representation of you and your business!

Blah

By S Ross |

It was just okay, nothing to go back for. It looks good on the plate but looks can be deceiving. The chicken was bland and the greens were salty. The bartender is not consistent with drink recipes.

Disappointed Texas Fan

By Kim |

Definitely not what I expected coming from Texas! The wait was ridiculous!!! We waited 1 hour and 30 minutes for services. Upon arrival the young lady at the front forgot to text me when our table was ready so therefore other people went ahead of us.. Then when we finally got seated it took another hour for the food to arrive! The menu sucks! Not a wide variety of food choices. The services overall was horrible! Definitely not going back!

Local Great Eats!

By Trish O |

We ate here for my best friend’s birthday (it was her birthday wish!) & the experience did not disappoint! The atmosphere, service & food were are awesome. We will be back again soon.

Never ever again!

By mflower275 |

If I could sum up my experience here in two words, I'd say chaotic and long. Visiting from New York, I decided to try it. $10 to park. There was limited street parking and all spots were filled. There was chaos with signing in and waiting on line, etc. The sign in process needs revamping. We were told that itll be about a 1.5 hour wait. We waited in the waiting area to be called and ordered two Sex on the Beaches for $16 (and they added their tip to the bill.) We and waited, and waited, waited, and waited to be seated. The waiting area was a nice idea where you can get something to drink and hookah inside or outside and they played music. The people were nice but no one wore a mask, money was being handled with the making of drinks and this man kept wiping his nose with his forearm while preparing. Disgusting! The area was dirty and the tables and cushions dusty. They cleaned them immediately upon request. About 1.5 hours later, I went to check on where we were on the list and we had not moved much. She explained that a large party was still there from earlier and they could not ask them to leave. There is a reason why restaurants put limits on the amount of time that a party could sit there! How is it okay to make everybody else wait while a party has been there for hours?! They should have asked them to chat in the waiting area and seat other people. We ended up leaving and upon our completion of the meal, I received a call that a table was ready. All in all it took about 3.5 hours for us to be seated. Disgusting! Shame on you! The ladies at the door were nice and very patient with everybody's questions. Never again! Oh, the wooden ambience inside felt very heavy and dark. I did not get a good feel about the place from the minute I walked in. Theres other places in Atlanta that sells soul food. I'd definitely recommend going to another location.

Bad customer service

By Fania Rock |

Worst EXPERIENCE EVER! We waited 1 hour before we asked Savannah where is our food. As four individuals who all each worked in a restaurant, we know common courtesy. SHE DOES NOT HAVE THAT! No sympathy, apologies, she helped us walk out. But what the worst part is she had a attitude, rolling eyes and not listening. When I asked her for the ETA on the food she went to the kitchen, walked out and went to the host stand on her phone. ONCE we see her chilling, we decided to leave. And she gladly handed us the check. Finally a manager is called and she said they messed up on CHEESE ON THE BURGER! That’s why the food was not out after ONE WHOLE HOUR. Therefore the rest of our food would of made it out to us cold, when it finally came out the window. We paid for drinks we left on the table that we only took a sip of. We are from Florida and we have a blog, trust and believe me we will let our audience know how you run your establishment.

Bad review

By Nick B |

My first two visits here were HORRIBLE. I picked up food from Doordash and I didn’t like the workers customer service at all. I waited 30 mins after I arrived for food when others would come in and get their food right away. I will cancel all my orders from this restaurant from here on out

Cornbread & Collards

By Martha |

Visited early March, the only absolutely delicious food items were the greens and cornbread. Service was horrible and the automatic 18% gratuity should be taken away. Those servers could care less about refilling drinks, pre bussing or even checking in to make sure everything is going well because they know they'll get tipped regardless! This was a once and done for me! So many other great places in ATL to eat at.

Disappointing

By Bam J |

I’ve been calling the restaurant for almost three days and I’ve yet to get a response this is very disappointing, all I want is to order some food because my last visit was amazing and the food was so good. OLG stop playing with me

Don’t eat at OLG

By Nina M |

Horrible, horrible I am so disappointed. Don’t waste your money the food is nasty and very expensive. You would be better off eating gas station food.

WORST SERVICE AND RESTAURANT EVER!!!!!

By Tahira G |

WORST SERVICE I EVER HAD!!!!!!! We were told the wait was 2 hrs we waited and a little over 2 hours me and my cousin went inside to see how much longer, we were told 25 additional minutes but they are out of half the menu 🤔and they encouraged us to not eat there because there was no food. When asked why were we not contacted to let us know that more then half the menu was out so we could have gone elsewhere we were not given a answer mind you we were talking to the security guard because the host refused to come to the stand and then after 20 minutes he came to the stand and we asked the same questions and his response was we literally just ran out of more then half of the menu 30 minutes ago.. and I asked again why were we not notified and just looked at us with a blank stare and changed the conversation.. when asked can he let us know what he had so we can decide what to do he literally wrote down less then 4 things.. it was a Sunday in Atlanta and we were down for a funeral (we are from New Jersey) and everything closed early so it was near 8 pm when we were told we were not going to be sat.. and when we called around most restaurants had stopped seating and were closing . We ended up finding a whole in a wall bbq place can’t remember the name but the food WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! but if you’re think about going to OLG RUN! Worst staff ever! No communication skills ! And I heard the food was nasty anyway ! From patrons leaving the restaurant that night ! For all the money kandi have you would think she would have better staff and a stocked kitchen you’re a restaurant not a fast food chain how do you run out of food every night yes everynight we were told they run out of food JUST DISGUSTING !

Horrible place

By yeahhali |

This was horrible I would give it 0 stars if I could I had bad service they arguing and they gave us old food

Unbelievably terrible

Love this place!!! Food was delicious.. I was told it was a 2 1/2 hour wait, that’s just an estimate. We was called back within an hour.

100% Satisfied

By Torrey H |

So we finally made it here. I had the deep fried deviled eggs. They were the best ever. I've never heard of them but read all the good reviews. I tried them and they were the best ever!!! I had the fried chicken, mac & cheese, with collard greens. Everything was spot on. My wife had the lamb & loaded smashed potatoes. We will most definitely be back once a month!

Don’t be fooled

By Monica N |

Old Lady Gang- A Southern Eatery Atlanta Old Lady Gang 780051089 The wait was long but then the food was cold for $20 a plate the food should be hot. Ugh Kandi need to do better with her restaurant. I was just expecting better, and then we didn’t received no apology about the cold food. The chicken wings was baby wings. We should known when the appetizers came out cold. How do fried okra come out cold and fried green tomatoes? I will NEVER eat here.

Honey Glazed Salmon

By Ranita H |

Awesome restaurant to visit with friends or solo. Located downtown with close proximity to Philips Arena, Statefarm Arena and Mercedes Benz SuperDome ATL!! Small restaurant serving up big flavors and delicious deep fried deviled eggs as well as the honey glazed salmon. Try Aunt Nora’s Deep South L.I.T. For a cocktail, you’ll definitely enjoy it!! If you are in the mood for some really good southern food, this is the place. $$

Food was awesome!

By tmcook22002 |

This was on my to do list when I revisited Atlanta. When I say the food was good... I mean that food was darn good!!!! Service was great and the staff was excellent. I want to fly back just to visit this restaurant.

Aunt Nora is amazing!

By shuga0293 |

We made it a point to stop here during our visit. Although the line was fairly long and the hostess rather frosty, and condescending, our waitress was fantastic! The fried deviled eggs were delicious and the best part of the meal? Aunt Nora! She stopped by our tables and spent 30 minutes talking to us. She is so warm and inviting that she made up for all of the rudeness that we had experienced throughout Atlanta during the entire trip! She told us that she would be 82 next month (June) and we wished her a happy birthday ahead of time. Keep enjoying life Aunt Nora! We love you!

When out of food, attempt a daily menu with what you do have!

By Petrenya B |

Went for lunch, but the wait turned into dinner time. While perusing the menu getting taste buds ready, only to learn when time to order, the dishes desired were out? Now if fish and yams are out on Monday, can't imagine what the rest of the week could be like? Reading the other reviews, I would have to say the experience was pretty comparable to other less than impressed reviews. We did not want to be on the negative band wagon, but just would like to see you tighten up your game. If you are out of food, just have a menu that day that speaks to what you do have. So cliche to say, Black own establishments always out of _____? (Fill in the blank). However, due to status of the Owner, we expect better. Visiting from California, with excitement to support and experience the OLG, it's insulting to feel dis-satisfied. Please get professional wait staff, a request for napkins and utensils after food is served should not be a norm! While some staff stood or sat around on their cell phones, the bathroom needed toliet paper. Admittedly our server "Q" shared we were his last customers for the day. On a positive note He did his best adjusting our orders, making suggestions and adding substitutions. The responsibility of your reputation should not be left in the hands of your employees to use their personalities to smooth over bad business practices. Word of mouth is a business deal breaker. I encouraged the company I dined with to give space for knowing we don't have to complain to our server about all he forgot or that was possibly mis-communicated, but not return to this establishment as Atlanta has plenty of places to take in. So based on other reviews, we'll skip Blaze this time. Lastly, quality over quantity, maybe key in getting a handle on providing better service. 18% gratuity and other upcharges speaks of greed. MAY YOU CONTINUE TO BE BLESSED!

If I was able to lick my plate

If I was able to lick my plate I would have!!! The service was exceptional as well!! My waitress’s name was Sky.. she was great!

Disappointing

By Terica N |

My family and I visited from California. We were excited to try OLG. We first attempted to visit the location that seemed to be in an abandoned downtown area. The area was extremely dirty. We went inside and was told that the wait would be 2 hours. So we decided to wait and visit the other location closer to the ATL airport. We were told that the wait would be over an hour to be seated. So we opted to place a to go order. We placed a to go order at the bar. While waiting a fight almost broke out between the waiter and a customer. The restaurant was extremely smoky from the kitchen to the point where we decided to go outside and wait for our order. Once we received our order we were extremely disappointed. I ordered the fish and grits. The fish was mediocre and the grits which they stated were Gouda grits was made with cheddar cheese. The cornbread on the side was so hard that we could not pull the cornbread apart. The cornbread could knock somebody’s tooth out. The OLG Wings were basic wings that were extremely salty. We received 4 wings for $12. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese which was absolutely disgusting. The green fried tomatoes and pulled bbq chicken was salty. It taste liked a combination of mixed hot sauce added to a basic bbq sauce blend. You must do better, this was a waste of time and frustration to our tastebuds. Unacceptable. Still hungry.

Wanted to really try this place.....so disappointed

By Calibikegrl |

I traveled to the area for a vacation. While I was here, I wanted to try this restaurant because I am a huge fan of Kandi and wanted to support this black owned business. My family and I had to wait in line for about 45 minutes just to get put on their list for a table. Once we got put on the list we had to wait outside in the hot sun for another hour. We decided to come inside and had to wait an additional 45 minutes to an hour before we were finally seated. We met Aunt Nora and she was so friendly and cute! That was the best part of the entire experience!! Our order wasnt taken for at least 30 minutes and then our food took forever. Dont come unless you have all day to wait around!!! So disappointing!!!

Great Food

By K.H. |

Our group is from LOUISIANA so you know WE KNOW FOOD. The OLG food was hot, delicious, and well-seasoned. The wait staff did an excellent job serving our group and I would definitely stop in again. Aunt Nora was super sweet and this took us back to what felt like good ole LOUISIANA hospitality, II ordered the fried chicken DELICIOUS, greens DELICIOUS, and mac and cheese DELICIOUS. Great experience!

Do not waste your money like I did!!!!!

By Grind W |

The food was so trash! Chicken cooked in old burned grease and French toast was burnt! Like really how do you burn French toasts at a restaurant. I could have cooked better than whoever they had make my meal. NEVER WILL GO BACK THERE 127.00 for trash

The worst and dirtiest restaurant I ever been in. Kandi I am really surprised that you would have your name attached!

By Katrina |

Please don’t visit this place, Food was very nasty and the downstairs was filthy and the restroom were very old and stinking. Kandis you walk around on real housewives of Atlanta with your nose turned up and you need to shut that nasty restaurant down, I am very disappointed and please clean that downstairs floor and that bathroom!

It was okay

By Donna K |

I visited OLG because I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I had heard the food was pretty good. We went pretty late in the afternoon but still had a 45 minute what which was fine. The waitress was really friendly and transparent when I asked her what she really liked. I tried the devil eggs because I really like devil eggs. I can say while they were tasty, I was disappointed because I could tell that they were not fresh. It was like they had been sitting under a heating lamp. They were a little cold and a little rubbery, and the shrimp had shriveled up from sitting under said heating lamp. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, my guest ordered the short ribs. My shrimps and grits were just okay. The shrimp and the sauce were pretty goods, but the grits were bland and unseasoned and if they added gouda cheese in it , I could not tell. I tried the short ribs, they were flavorful but a little tough. I also had a side of collards greens, this issue I had with the greens is that it seems like they put sugar in their green. I too put sugar in my collards when I cook them as they can be bitter, but not enough so they taste sweet. The fact that I could tell there was sugar added was a no go for me. Also, I don't like the fact that they add the tip to the bill, we were a party of three and a 18% tip was automatically added, not gratuity but tip. I always tip at least 20% but the fact that I was not given an option is not a good look. (if the service is crappy, they get less) If OLG is that concerned about their servers not making enough money, OLG simply needs to pay them more. I will probably give it another try when I am back in Atlanta and I am in the area but I won't break my neck to get there.

So very disappointed

By Annie J |

I have tried to reach out to Kandi and Todd with no response, the waiter had a graduation to get to was rushing us to eat the food that was not tasty or appealing , needed a full refund!!!

Good food. Not so good service

By Monica D |

Our waitress had an attitude from the moment we sat down because she was frustrated from another table. She didn't want to take our order until she was done with them (about 25mins into us sitting down). We tried to be understanding because we felt she was knew and didnt know how to multitask. However, when she finally does take our order, she failed to inform us the kitchen was backed up. After another 40+ mins of waiting on the food, I complained to Management. We were ready to just leave but everyone was excited to try this place after traveling from PA. He was very apologetic and had our food brought out shortly after. The only thing that made up for the experience was the food. The mac & cheese and salmon were delicious! Not sure if I would visit again though.

Go to Support Kandi

By Tht_Queen_B |

We recently dined here for dinner. It was not that busy as usual. We got lucky. Decor: The restaurant was tasteful decorated and had great photography’s hung. The vibe is a great family friendly atmosphere, although I didn’t notice a kids menu. Food: was flavorful but cold. I recommend the fried chicken, greens, and Mac and cheese. The catfish was cold. All the food was cold but flavorful. I recommend this place to anyone who hasn’t been to support Kandi and try out for yourself.

Great time at OLG

By Keyanna R |

I enjoyed OLG SOOOO MUCH! Kenny was a great server. Very attentive and great suggestions. The fried deviled eggs were delicious! The Rib tips were tasty and flavorful. The only thing I did not like was the bones in the rib tips but I understand that’s how they come so no complaints.

Not impressed

By Nikki |

WE TOOK A GIRLS TRIP TO ATL. WE WERE SO EXCITED ABOUT TRYING OLG (OLD LADY GANG). The food was ok. The greens were very salty. Our waitress we had never introduced herself. She just came and stood at the table. Each time we would ask for something, she either forgot or just rolled her eyes and walked off. I expected more. The wait was an hour and half. I wouldn't revisit if I came back to Atl.

Truthfully Speaking

By Raven B |

Let me start off by saying...'pick your own shade tree!' After reading the many negative reviews, my husband and I decided to take a chance anyway. and boy were we HAPPY we did!!!! The wait was ACCEPTABLE (we arrived at noon). The atmosphere as COMFORTABLE. The staff was FRIENDLY. The restrooms were CLEAN. And getting to the reason we went to Old Lady Gang Restaurant ,,,the FOOD! I ordered the chicken with mac 'n cheese and collards. The portions were GENEROUS. The chicken was seasoned to PERFECTION and was MOUTH-WATERING. The mac 'n cheese SOOTHED my pallet and definitely was NOT dry! The collards were SPICY which eliminated the need to add seasonings. My husband had the rib tips, smashed potatoes and black eyed peas. To sum it all up--he cleaned his plate! But those deep fried deviled eggs!!!!! I hurt myself. And the beverages (lemonade and sweet tea) had us asking for refills. In essence--YOU BE THE JUDGE!

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING!

By Yvonne R |

Visiting from CA and was really looking forward to eating some great southern food. Very disappointing starting with a $10 charge for parking in what appeared as an alley. Entrance not very inviting but I thought maybe it will get better once seated. Not so. The place has white painted brick walls, carpet old and rip. Steel chairs. But still hoping the food will make up for the decorum. Ordered rib tips that advertised coleslaw with order. Waiter brought ribtips that were tough and seemed like bottle of BBQ sauce poured over it. When asked about the coleslaw was told they were out. No apology and no discount. Okay so we ordered the fish dinner and lemonade. Lemonade was bitter. Later waiter returned and informed that they were out of fish. How can you be out of fish when 3/4 of your menu is fish. So ordered the chicken. Utensils were plastic, small bar paper napkins and plastic salt, pepper shakers. Really! Chicken came not hot, cornbread muffin was tough and stale. I wanted very much to like and support this place but all I can say is do not waste your time and money. This place was one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten in. I can't believe Kandi would associate herself with such a place. Oh I forgot about the music. The gansta rap music was very inappropriate and offensive in that type of setting. I love rap but I am selective as I am for all my music and listening to folks cuss and refer to female body parts is not very soothing. It really hurts to write a negative review but being ignorant to the truth is not beneficial for you as a business or to the people patronizing your restaurants. My suggestion either bring in a real experience and professional manager to run the place or shut it down! Totally disappointing!!

This was the worst experience i have had.

By darron o |

I traveled from Florida and so excited to get to OLG restaurant. Omg the service was horrible man the waitress was rude and so not caring. we sat over 15 mins before we got service. have picture/video on how unclean it was in the very back of the restaurant at the bottom where the host sat us. I was so disappointed i asked her about the sweet tea. If I didn't like it she told me she would have to charge to change. So, I ask for a coke it was flat and taste like syrup. ask to change it and she brought me a sweet tea in the same glass the coke was in. Let's just say it was nasty. My food was good except the collards. Then the waitress didn't deserve an 18% tip that was automatically charged to our bill. I wish Kandi and Todd would listen to their reviews and make some changes with their staff. I expected better from this place. Maybe when it first opened it was good, but my experience was trash. I'm sorry I'm just disappointed at this point. Let me stop writing I like Kandi and Todd as people but when i spend my money i want good food and good service. hell, if the wasn't good the good service will always sell a place.

Definitely NOT WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM KANDI BURRESS

By LadyZ027 |

I was shocked when I walked in. Nothing about OLG looks like a celebrity restaurant. It’s quite shabby. I missed my reservation in 2019 on my birthday because of ATL traffic and I literally CRIED because that was one of the things I REALLY WANTED TO DO & ENJOY. Now that I finally visited, it was a waste of tears. The food is overpriced for the taste and experience. The food was just OK. It looked way better than it tasted. I took it to go & still didn’t finish it. If you just want to visit to say you went - cool. Don’t wait in a long line, don’t go out of your way period to go there. I’ll probably never go back. I’ll try another spot.

Awesome Place!

By Donald B |

OLG is awesome the food was great the service was excellent only thing I hate was I didn’t get to meet the owner.

Cornbread/wait time

By Lenai |

Went in to place a To Go order. Told it would be about 25 minutes (crowded), but that’s nothing new and it was a Saturday! Anyway, my order was brought out by one of the waiters who told me everything was in there… but I check anyway and realized there’s no cornbread! And instead of this waiter letting me know they ran out of cornbread, he just gave me my order and didn’t say anything! So had to wait another 20 minutes for cornbread because who eats collard greens w/o cornbread! Poor planning in the kitchen….OLG needs to do better!

Terrible place don't even bother.

By Shirley W |

Went to visit my girlfriend in Atlanta and figured I stop by to check out this restaurant that's suppose to be so popular. OLG old lady gang. BIG MISTAKE. After telling us the wait to be seated was 30 minutes our Wait time was over two hours before we finally left after never being seated. this is my assessment. First They charge you $10 for parking where you drive down a hill with massive potholes. Be careful with you car. Walked up to the restaurant and it was Very Dirty Just horrible . Not just the area but service. Dirty bathroom. Both down stairs and upstairs Staff looks like they just rolled out of bed. People came in to be seated and host kept them Waiting for over 20 minutes. people were keaving after not being acknowledg. The seating area where they tell you to wait iuntil your table is ready was a joke Dirty walls small confined room long hallway with no windows Plastic chairs not welcoming at all Down stairs lin the resturants looked like a crack house again Dirty dingy. Etc. Should have known the service was bad after people leaving told us to go somewhere else because the restaurant wasn't worth it. But i wanted to try the food. Never got the chance. We left. It's sad because you have people coming from all over to visit and eat good food .like me. People waked in off the streets got seated right away because they knew people who worked there. I know because they told me when I asked. Old lady gang and Kandi you should be ashamed of yourself to even attach your name to such a disgusting place. My overall review would be minus 10 stars don't waste your time going here the place is a complete dump. Ended up going somewhere else to eat.

So good! Confused about these negative reviews...

By Joia S |

I wish I could Kandi and say thank you for this amazing eatery!! I wish I could give her a hug! Lol the food at OLG is sooooo good. The service, outstanding. The only thing I wish is that I got the name of our server. She was perfect. Attentive, responsive, quick, polite. We are so glad we DID NOT listen to the negative reviews. We ordered the fried deviled eggs, shrimp and grits, the wings, MAC, greens, catfish strips, and cocktails. We had cornbread as an appetizer. Fried Deviled eggs is a dish I had no idea I needed in my life. But I think the winner of this meal was my shrimp and grits. I mean everything was BOMB.com, but the flavor in those buttery creamy grits was unmatched! Literally first bite I said out loud mid-chew “OK, Kandi... I see why you went through alllat to get the OLG on board!” Our food came out QUICK and HOT. The cocktails were also good. I am particular about the ingredients in my drinks, though. I typically prefer real lemon/lime vs the juices from concentrate but the drinks got the job done. I ordered a mule with ginger beer and my boyfriend got a couple of Todd’s Margaritas. We had no wait when we got there and were seated downstairs with only one other couple which made us beyond pleased because well Coronavirus. The Host was also polite and welcoming. We weren’t sure what the wait was going to be so the first thing we asked for was food to-go, but he sold us on dining in because everyone was spaced out AND THERE WAS NO WAIT. Yes, there is an auto grat of 18%.... but we usually tip 20% for great service and that is was we received.... so we added and extra 10 bucks on top. The MUSIC! The music was a total vibe in itself. I hope I wasn’t annoying the other couple because I was singing every single song. They played some Xavier Omar, Sir, just the perfect dining music.

Just TERRIBLE

By nix0506 |

So many things went wrong on this visit. Waited 2 hours and still had to leave the food, had flight to catch. Actually had appetizers, had to share the plates as they did not have enough and ALL on cracked plates. 12:30pm and they were already out of sides. Service was terrible, waitress was inexperienced. No manager went around to check on the service being provided, in our case, not provided. Also further delayed, had to wait though the complaints of other tables with unhappy customers. It’s a shame, this is not the restaurant it once was.

Unfortunately Disappointing

By Laurie C |

The OLG experience was not what I expected. We got there at 1:30 in the afternoon with a party of 12 from NC. We were told there was a 2 hour wait and they would call us. We left and came back and then told they couldn't seat us together but two tables of 6 (time 3:30). They seated the first 6 and 20 minutes later seated the other 6. Not a large restaurant. Decor is simple ...nothing really stands out..they do play music and around 5 a DJ started playing. It was about 5:20 by the time we got our food. Overall the food was not bad. I ordered wings but they were undercooked however the sauce was good but I was unable to eat them. They removed from my bill. My husband's friend chicken was over cooked and to hard to eat. Although the was for the most part good..the extremely long wait is ridiculous. They say they cook to order but if this is the case your cook staff needs to be increased to accommodate your customers especially with it being a big tourist attraction. It took us all day just to eat there which messed up other things we could have done. A black owned restaurant has to go above and beyond just to keep up. The concept is good but needs improvement. They also need to be consistent. We called and were told they did not accept reservations. However there was another group that called and were told they would hold a place for them and were told they could be seated when they got there. Mind you the whole party was not there. I would rate 2 stars. The wait took away from my experience. Good luck if you visit!!!

To take away the negative comments because they were wrong

Not a Celebrity Restaurant Experience

By Donna D |

My friend from out of town (Baltimore, MD) and I were so excited to go to this restaurant in Atlanta. We visit celebrity restaurants across the Nation - so far this has been the absolute WORST. We paid $10 to park which led us to the back door entrance to the restaurant. We walked in and to our surprise no hostess greeted us nor was there a sign to point us in the right direction - we stood there a few minutes & realized we had to navigate to wherever the hostess table was. We proceeded to go upstairs to find the hostess standing by the front door behind the desk looking down at her phone. We walked to the front of the desk in good spirits - hoping to be seated and she still didn't look up at us from her phone. Then, FINALLY she looked up clearly annoyed by us and said in a very unwelcoming tone, "yes". I then tried to lighten HER mood by saying "we would like to have a table" and she very quickly answered me that "it will be a 2 hour wait " and to "go down to the bar area and sit at a table there and she would call my phone." My friend and I had already paid for parking so we weren't about to leave because of a 2 hour wait - We decided to go to the bar area and sit down at one of the tables - just then a waitress walked up and took our order (2 hour wait my foot!) then the hostess came down stairs who told us it would be 2 hour wait and tapped on our table, hunched down and asks "did someone sit you here?" I answered "no I sat myself" - didn't she just say "go down stairs and sit at one of the tables?!! " It made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome as if we were out of line. It was VERY disorganized. We received our appetizers, entrees and drinks with no straws, utensils, small plates or napkins (??) on top of the basics - the corn bread was extremely dry, the green beans no flavor, the sweet potato casserole WAY overly seasoned (I'm not picky either) and the fried green tomatoes were tasteless. It tasted like the chef doesn't care AT ALL. The music in the bar was on a radio station (playing commercials for Kroger, which I find tacky for such a "celebrity restaurant" experience) and was obnoxiously loud - as if we were in the club- I could barely speak to my friend without speaking loud. While we were getting ready to leave a stream of water fell from the ceiling right behind my friends head - we looked up and condensation was all over the ceiling and vents, which felt gross. If things couldn't get worse - we were charged for a table of 2 18% gratuity PER PERSON! For a table of two that made absolutely no sense. I will not be returning and will never again recommend to any of my visiting guests as this should be a tourist attraction anymore. A true disappointment.

Horrible!!!!!

By White40 |

The establishment was nasty the bathroom was so dirty and smelly. The floors looked like they haven’t swept since they opened. The trash was overflowing a big bottle of hot sauce sitting on bar with no top on it. The food was cold and over cooked when the waiter brought my drink the glass was so Nasty and dirty. The food was overpriced and the Quality was poor.

Horrible visit

By MasterOf N |

It was disappointing to say the least, starting with the $10 to park, to the mediocre food. We wanted the fried deviled eggs, but was promptly told “oh they not ready”as the waiter walked away. Ummmm, OK. We both got fried chicken because we figured who can mess that up, well I guess they can. My husband had a wing with a fried feather which was off putting, It wasn’t seasoned which didn’t bother me because at least it was fresh fried. I asked for dark meat I got a thigh and the rest wings. The greens were terrible and dry, not a drop of pot liquor in the bowl. The cabbage was mushy and the black eyed peas were too salty. I enjoyed my beverage of choice. I ran out of water and was never given a refill. My husband was so over it, I’m sure we could have found a better soul food restaurant, but we wanted to try OLG, definitely never again, and would not recommend to anyone. Oh, and on top of the exorbitant prices for the food, they have the nerve to include an 18% gratuity. The service definitely wasn’t worth it! Oh well, lesson learned!

Worst of Worst

By Gina G |

Family came from all over for a wedding on Sunday. Monday morning we went to OLG to see what the food was like 🤔. While wait time to be seated was none🙂. For starters they DON'T serve coffee, tea or lemonade and No diet soft drinks. What is a diabetic suppose to drink? Almost one hour later we received our appetizers. Fried deviled eggs was asked to hold the bacon. Received four deviled eggs with bacon, three slices of fried green tomatoes 🤬.To make this short for $209.00 I wish we would have brought grocery and went to a park and grilled. 🤢🤮😡🤬. We found nothing Southern about this place at all. Oh by the way waiter apologized for the wait time by saying that "We are filling all of our to go uber orders first." At that point I wanted to leave but since so many of the family members watch their show we stayed. I never watch their show and still don't know who the hell they are 🤷‍♀️. If you're going to sell your name and associate it with food make sure your recipes and cook are at a top notch level especially with your ridiculously price.🙍‍♀️ My rating is really a ZERO but they don't have a zero so I had to go with a 1🤬

UNDER COOKED FOOD & POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

By Anthony |

Hello, potential customers. We visited OLG downtown Atlanta and experienced an extended waiting period after being seated, order delay and under cooked food. One of our order was the Grilled Lamb Chops, which were delicious however, the mashed potatoes were hard and unseasoned, and the side of blackeye peas were under cooked (the texture of the peas were slightly hard). Therefore, if you are accustom to great customer service, order taking in a timely manner, and properly cooked food then don't waste your time at the OLG.

Delicious!

Treated my grand-daughter to ATL, for the 1st time. We flew in from Houston, and I was looking so forward to eating at the OLG. My friend that lives in ATL came along. The food was so good! We really "Pigged-Out". My grand ate salmon, mac & cheese, potatoes, green beans & fries. My friend tried the shrimp & grits, w/ mac& cheese. I went all in with fried fish, mac& cheese, yams, with b'eyed peas w/rice. We even had to have extra cornbread. Nothing went to waste. And I would really like to give thanks to the server, Sandreka. I asked for some b'eyed pea juice, she was so nice about it. Considering the fact that this lady was sweeping, cleaning & serving us at the same time. I was very impressed. Next time I'm in the ATL, I will certainly return. Thanks!

OLG is Ymmmm!!

My cousin and I were in town looking for soul food spots. Someone from the hotel staff recommended OLG for the celebrity factor and the food. After reviewing the menu, we thought the prices were a bit much but as an experienced traveler, I know that lunch prices are better than dinner prices. So to avoid a line we were the first to arrive for lunch. Firstly, our waitress (Frankie) was outstanding and made our stay enjoyable. If it were not for her, this would be another review about just food. Frankie is warm, welcoming, and enjoys her work. They should hire 3 more like her! We ordered the salmon bites, fried green tomatoes (for appetizers), then fried fish dinner and baked chicken (for entrees). For me, the salmon bites were a treat and I could have eaten them all day. The crispy breading was nicely seasoned and not too salty; the cajun remoulade was a nice accent in flavor. The portions of the fried fish dinner were so generous that I couldn't finish it. The collard greens were great and I also liked the way the fried green tomatoes were prepared. I could tell it was authentic (not a frozen food that was deep fried). Overall, it was a nice dining experience and I would recommend it for the food. I didn't think the mac and cheese was cheesy enough but every one's taste is different. I hope to return and try the peach cobbler bread pudding. Thanks Frankie!

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED

By Kamilah W |

My family of 6 went one Saturday around 6 PM in early July 2021. We went to the podium to get a seat. We waited for 10 minutes before Aunt Nora came. She told us to form a line outside.  There were about 20 people waiting at this point.  First of all, it was sprinkling outside.  Secondly,  my mom was walking on a cane and she was told she couldn't sit and wait inside.  A gentleman waiting behind us said he was going to discuss with the manager. About 10 minutes later he came back and told her to go sit inside.  This should have been our queue to leave but we were from out of town and figured the wait would be longer elsewhere.  We had already been waiting for 45 minutes at this point.  Next, we found out that they had started a waiting list and people were coming in from downstairs and getting added to the list before us. Apparently Aunt Nora had left and did not communicate to the hostess that she had made us wait outside.  Once we got that cleared up we were finally seated about an hour later. We ordered three appetizers.  2 of the appetizers came out cold a hour later. We were told they were out of green tomatoes.  If we had known that earlier we would have probably ordered another appetizer. While we were waiting on the appetizers we asked did they have any bread we could eat. We were starving. We were told they only had cornbread and they were out. Who runs out of cornbread? We finally received our food. It was ok. It wasn't hot and it definitely wasn't worth all of the issues we encountered.  I was so excited to go to the restaurant but I will never go again. We were there a total of 5 hours. We weren't offered a free drink or any discount to our meal. I understand that it is difficult running a business during covid,  but the lack of communication between the staff was horrible.  I never expected this type of service from a restaurant Kandi owns because on TV she seems very professional.  EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.

Horrible

If they tell you the wait is 2 hours it’s really 3!!! Horrible!!!! Please don’t waste your time!!! It’s really sad I’m really trying to support black businesses, they don’t support the clientele. :(

If I could leave a zero I would!

By Crystal C |

I decided to visit Atlanta and OLG was one of the stops that I was excited about. When I arrived, a full 45 minutes before the scheduled closing, I was informed that they were not seating anyone else because they had run out of food!!! I was alone and I could see if it was a party of six or something but you mean to tell me that they didn’t have a few chicken wings and some leftover pot liquor! Worst. Of. All. The hostess was totally unsympathetic. When I told her I had taken an Uber to get there she said well you can call an Uber to pick you up. Never ever eat at the Old Lady, gang… Tell your friends and read the other negative reviews. I sure wish I had read them. Oh and get this, when I asked if I could get some water, they tried to sell me a bottle of FIJI for $5. When I tell you don’t waste your time, you can’t say that you weren’t warned.

Terrible service

By Crisanta D |

Where do I start. We got their when it open it took a hour to get seated and 2 hours to receive our food three service was terrible when we got our food we were ready to go the food was cold The biscuits was good the black eye pass and rice was good its just the service was horrible it should never take that long to get seated and feed we got their at 12 and didn't leave till 4 and went is the tax 18 percent that ridiculous.

Horrible Service

By Marjorie J |

I traveled from Chicago to come to this place and I was very disappointed. I waited 3 hours to eat and by the time appetizers arrived at my table they were cold and not too tasty. My entree was very mediocre and also cold. I spent almost 5 hours for worst service ever in life . I will never returned back again. I had high expectations since I’m a fan of the show. Do better!!!!

Kandi should be ASHAMED!!!

By Dymediva |

We wanted to try this restaurant for a while. We finally tried it and it was a huge disappointment! Let me start off with the good, the hostess and our waitress were both great and the greens were good. That’s all that was good! We ordered fried chicken which was burnt and tasteless. We had Mac and cheese and it was bland at best. The green beans had red peppers but not much seasoning, My salmon was just ok and the fried deviled eggs were disgusting. My cousin ordered the rib tips and they were straight gristle. It was a complete mess! Kandi your entire family should be ashamed and I sincerely hope these aren’t really your family recipes because if it is honey bless y’all’s heart but y’all can’t cook. You need to revamp and start over because this ain’t it! Your bathroom was nasty.. it was just a horrible experience! Never again!

First Time Experience at OLG (possibility my last)

By Lady Thai |

As a sincere fan and admirer of Kandi Burris (RHOA), I must admit that my visit to OLG was pretty good yet mediocre. We arrived at 1:20P and was seated around 2:30P, I’d would have made a reservation but they’re not accepted to any locations. So expect an extremely long wait time!! 🤦🏾‍♀️We had a nice waitress, some of the staff was nice (except the rude hostess); however, I was able to meet Cousin Kim and Don Juan, General Manager and Kandi’s right hand of Kandi Koated Ent. My gf and I ordered the fried chicken dinner and grilled wings as an entree and appetizer. I wish I hadn’t substituted my collard greens for the sweet potato soufflé because the soufflé was burnt at the bottom. The main highlight of our meals was the fried chicken and the mac n’ cheese. Honestly, I was hoping for a much better experience but you only live once.

Very Dissatisfied Very Disappointed Very Broke

This was a time I could enjoy the ATL with my Son and family since he moved there a year ago. I wanted OLG. The drink Reggae was delicious...The food was horrible. I thought this was the OLG recipes...I pray not. The Greens ARE CANNED greens.. call me to show you how to make those good, just straight outta the can ..be serious. Now the Mac and cheese should just be removed from menu. It's be reused and reused...so much ..it was pastey, gummy. You can add to Mac and cheese.. PLEASE just make a new dish ... ..that was simply disgusting... Ben there, conquered...I'm good . Not again

Love It Here! Will return next visit to Atlanta from Texas

By Discover647401 |

Everything had a nice flavor, the staff was very attentive & professional. We did ask that a window that was unlocked be closed tighter because a fly had come in through it but that was never taken care of. The fried chicken and fried green tomatoes were good but the grease was not clean so it made it have a kinda burned taste and appearance. Mama Joyce's drink was on point!! Over all everything was nice just those couple of adjustments help keep the standards up!
