We ate here on our trip, I got pizza and my wife got meatball sub. The staff was nice and place was clean, we went because of word of mouth. We didn't like the food and there was nothing that seemed haunted. I wouldn't go back.

Natasha was an incredible guide for this creepy historic tour. She was so knowledgeable and made the whole experience fun. We stayed afterward and got pizza, which perfectly hit the spot.

If you love garlic then you will love the garlic knots! Great beers too. My kids loved the italian cream sodas. Interesting building. Will go back on our next Portland visit!

Highly recommend the Haunted Shanghai Tunnel tour! A perfect outing for Halloween season. Very cool to see the Portland underground and learn about the history. Tour comes with a beer tasting and pint, so well worth the value, and our tour guide was great!

We visited this place as per our hotel suggestion for a pizza and brew. The homeless situation is completely out of hand in Portland, as we were able to see it on the way to pizza place. We ordered one house salad, "The Original" 10'' pizza pie (with mushrooms as an addition) on the counter and paid there. The beers were selected from the bar - Shanhai'd IPA - English IPA ABV: 6.5% for me and Sun Dazed Kolsch ABV: 5.8% for my DW. As far as pizza goes - I'm purist with NY-NJ are the standards for me. This pizza was better then at So Cal, but still not up to par with Bleecker Street Pizza in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Service was good and attentive.

The service was great and pizza was fantastic. Pizza by the slice if you want. The old building had character. Good selection of local beers.

Good pizza and some great beers on tap. The staff was very friendly and accommodating . We would go back again.

Cool spot in Downtown Portland. Employees were so friendly to us and helped pick a pizza we would like since it was our first time there. Pizza was really tasty and the crust was perfect. Brewery drinks were good as well. That's coming from my son who was a bartender in college. We came for the Haunted Shanghai Tunnel tour but will now always eat here when we are in town. Thanks for a great time!

Not just any old beer and pizza... but incredible pizza and amazing beer. Strongly recommend the House Special!

Our team went out to eat with a Canadian who suggested the restaurant. We loved the history of the restaurant. Pizza and knots were terrific. Loved the meatballs. I had the Brewer’s salad which was excellent. Our group of 9 ate 3.5 large pizzas so it was good based on how much our students ate.

We started here because it was the closest. We were planning to try some brews and then walk over to the food carts. However, the second we walked in the delicious pizza aroma changed our minds. We went with a simple pepperoni, black olive and extra cheese and it didn't disappoint. You know that stretchy mozzarella that melts great and then just gets better as it cools? They've got it. We pigged out. After sampling several darker beers, I had a solid Shanghai'd IPA that won a medal at the Great American Beer Fest in 2015. Could have stayed around for more but there's lots of beer in Portland!

This was a well organized enjoyable tour. The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. The underground area was small and the tour was not overly long. The bar is beautiful with lots of stained glass and oak.

This historic old building has a neat vibe to it, and to add to the atmosphere there is a great little pizza joint inside it. We have been to this place a couple of times in the last few weeks for dinner. We have been pleased with the atmosphere and the food. The seating is an eclectic mix of arrangements from booths to old school tables. Order at the window and take a table marker to the spot of your choice (there is even sidewalk seating if the weather is nice). We really enjoyed the garlic knots - excellent flavor and drizzled in olive oil. The thin crust pizza is crispy without so much sauce that it gets doughy by the toppings. They have some great flavor combinations and if that doesn't do it for you, create your own. There is a full service bar as well, but their brews work real well with the pizza. It's not a sit down place where a waiter will be checking on you, if you want something, get up and get it.

Love coming here! Every time we visit Portland we have to make a visit o OTP. The only item I have eaten is the pizza which is good, but I love eating upstairs!!! There's just a couch (which hopefully gets cleaned from time to time!?!?) and a large table and it just seems secluded which is kind of nice. My husband is a beer drinker and he enjoys that as well!

Last minute stop before heading off to the airport. Custom made, tasty pizza. On site brew pub; great beer. Line gathered quickly behind me, looks like place is popular with locals too. Service was a little slow probably due to being the mob of people during lunch hour. Would patronize again.

We got three small pizzas to go. There was a time when I could not say enough good about the old place- especially the dragon lady pizza. Our pizzas were a BIG let down. For $30, only the cheese was edible. The others had almost no toppings, and were on thick and undercooked crusts.

What can go wrong when you combine History, Ghost Stories, Pizza and Beer! Overall pretty fun and Natasha did a very good job!

It was fun experiencing the downtown area of Portland, we stopped by Old town pizza to grab dinner. The history and story of the building were a bit better than the pizza, it wasn't anything special but it was ok.

Recommended by the front desk at our hotel for pizza; average reviews on Zomato. Came here with family for dinner early on a Saturday evening. Wait in line to order pizza at counter, get drinks/sodas at bar. Pizza is delivered to table. We unanimously agreed that we preferred DiGiorno's frozen rising crust pizza to the pizza here. Restaurant is located in an interesting older space but is not especially comfortable or clean. Would probably be a lot more fun later in the evening on a night out with friends.

The gluten free pizza dough did not taste like cardboard. Our family couldn't tell. Hats off to their recipe. Love the garlic cream chicken pizza washed down with a cold brew.

Enjoyed a family lunch with 5 kids, 5 adults. Sat upstairs at the suggestion of the pizza order window waitress. My in-laws from Portland said the service was typical of Portland service, my husband (as we are from Midwest) said the service was not great. Basically walked in and were told to figure out what we wanted to order, ordered food at one window, ordered sodas and beer at the bar with average at best service, then went up to our table to wait. Pizza and beer were great in a timely fashion. Ordered a margarita pizza, a BBQ chicken pizza, and a 1/2 cheese, 1/2 pepperoni for the little kids. All were really tasty and the right amount of food for 10 people. Would highly recommend, but might benefit from a friendlier hostess to explain the ordering protocol.

This destination was recommended because of the brewery and the history. The history of the building is so interesting, and my husband loved the red ale, the best he had found. The bartender/waitress was wonderful, she gave us suggestions for where to visit in the time that we had. Portlanders love their pizza, and this is a great spot.

Just in town for a short visit. Sat at the bar and ordered garlic knots and their own craft beer on draft....YUMMY!! Then we ordered the thin crust House pizza. That combination of toppings made for a great tasting pizza. Special thanks to Sam for being so friendly and full of local information. Sam also ensured the outside of our beer glasses were rinsed before serving...no beer overflow to sticky our hands!

Stopped by here on a Sunday night for a quick bite to eat. Place wasn't very busy and took a little while to get our pizza but food was good. The old building with the haunted history makes it a fun place to hang out in and just look around.

Wife and I checked out this place based on friends Facebook reviews. Rustic old town feel was very cool. The beers were phenomenal the pizza was just OK. The people working there were very friendly and helpful. The beers are well worth the price the pizza was a little expensive for the quality. Don’t think I would eat here again. But I will have a beer or two here in the future when we’re in Portland.

We enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of ordering food and drinks at the counter and seating yourself. The pizza and garlic knots are good, and hey have some really neat beers on tap. We enjoyed our time and food! Prices were about mid range, maybe a little pricey considering we were being waited on. But I'd love to go again!

I’ve taken the tunnel tour multiple times. Natasha and Jason are so knowledgeable and have such passion. I learn something new each time and really enjoy the beer selection. Love coming here. Portland must do experience

My wife and I wanted to take our kids to a spooky family dinner on our last night in Portland. They couldn't find any of their pamphlets telling about the history of the pizza joint and how it was haunted. The food was pretty good, but it was very loud. A beer bicycle tour stopped there while we were having dinner, and it got even louder. I would visit again, but probably not with my kids.

Went on a tour of the underground tunnels plus a beer tasting. Out of town visitor so all the information was new to me and very interesting! There has been haunted encounters before so that drew me to this tour. While I didn’t experience anything personally it was very interesting and creepy. Natasha was very knowledgeable and asked us what we wanted from the tour and I said I wanted to be scared so the information she was talking about was scary. Really good experience!

We did the haunted Shanghai tunnels tour and stayed for the beer and pizza. It was totally worth it! Would recommend to anyone. Our tour guide was fantastic. Quirky and a wealth of information. The food was great and we enjoyed the beer selection.

This restaurant sits in the original lobby of the Merchant Hotel. When you place your order it is through the window of the original reception desk, which sits between original cast iron beam posts. The Shanghai Tunnels are underneath the floor of this eatery. Amazing history of hauntings can be learned about by any waiter willing to share. We ordered one small pizza which was definitely filling for 2 adults; the beer was exceptional and local. A great stopover after walking around.

Delicious pizza and beer! The garlic knots are ok not much garlic taste :/ but still good. We got the haunted spot of the pizzeria and although nothing happened we had a good time. The whole place has history and you feel it! The decor the lighting the whole building is something that must be experienced so definitely make time to eat pizza!

We had heard and read about this place in Old Town as being in a haunted building. We did not meet any ghosts but did have one of the best pizzas we have had. If you love pizza and local beer, a good place to try

I'm really amazed that some people are raving about the pizza here. It wasn't bad but it wasn't particularly good either. The self- service was ok but I really didn't expect or care for it. They were out of the house cabernet, and had 3 other red wine options. I tried the next one listed and it wasn't good. Drinkable but not enjoyable. My husband did like the meatball appetizer he had and the garlic knots were good. Overall we were disappointed because it didn't hold up to the reviews.

We showed up for the tunnel tour. Natasha, our tour guide, was very thorough in making sure that the entire group was present before beginning. Once underway, we were shown what is left of the extensive tunnels under Portland. Natasha was fantastic. As she told us about each spot we stopped at, her delivery made it very easy to picture the events of the time period. I’ve been on tours with guides who have been super informative, but Natasha stands out as one of the most animated and immersed guides I have experienced. Following the tour, we stayed long enough for the beer sampling which was outstanding. We finally made our way to the main parlor where my spouse and I got a slice apiece. The ambiance and atmosphere of the place is like none other. The pizza is absolutely worth the wait and the beer selection lets you know that you couldn’t be anywhere else. I would be remiss if I didn’t say that visiting Old Town Pizza is an entire experience.

Wonderful pizza in an unusual atmosphere! I was recommended garlic knots and they were quite delicious. Apparently the elevator shaft is haunted by a lady ghost! Service took a while (20 mins) but very delish!

A nice place. Good pizzas, excellent beers. Nice and crowded environment but... Not a Kid friendly and the service is slow.

Ate dinner here because my nephew had been here before and recommended it. Had one of their original crust pizzas and their pre-prohibition lager, both were excellent. Reasonably priced and fun atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

Re: The evening Haunted History of the Shanghai Tunnels- I am glad I was able to go into the tunnels that I had heard so much about. Unfortunately I struggled to understand the stories and explanations given by the guide, as she tried a very theatrical, hard to follow, over-the-top approach to storytelling. It was poorly executed and hard to follow. The theatrical accents were cringey, and it sounded like the entire tour was guided by an overly-zealous flight attendant from Middle Earth. Again, I am glad I was able to enter the tunnels, but I learned nothing about them or their complex stories. Also, if you don’t drink or have zero interest in the beer tasting or descriptions, there should be a point in which the tour guide lets the group know that the next portion of the tour in optional, and gives the ability to leave without needing to interrupt the guide in-front of everyone to ask where/how to leave the tunnels. It’s not a huge deal, but would be a nice consideration.

They have an underground tour that looks really fun. I hope to do this soon. Their food was okay, beer was good, ambience was incredibly memorable and I hope to return!

We were only in Portland for one night and stopped in here for a casual dinner option. The place is a very informal with great pizzas and good ale options. We really liked it.

Came for drinks after reading lots of reviews about how cool this place was. Got here and waited to be seated. Just sat at the bar on our own since we just wanted drinks anyway. Waitress eventually told us she would be with us in a minute, but then left to chat with her co- workers. She came back and was unhelpful with the beer selection even though we were the only customers at the bar. The bathrooms needed to be swept. There were very few customers the entire time we were there, but after two pours the bartender gave us our tab. We took the hint and left.

A bit old and rustic but their oven baked pizzas are fantastic. Also nice range of beers. Worth visiting with friends for a short stop.

Once we all agreed that pizza and beer sounded good, I looked for highly rated places downtown. Thanks trip advisor reviewers! This is self serve; grab a menu and a table, then walk up and place your order, then go get it and enjoy. We had garlic bread knots served with marinara, ranch and one other option. We enjoyed their bbq chicken pizza, house special pizza and pesto special pizza. All of it was delicious. We ordered 4 different pitchers of beer, didn’t leave any behind. Rustic atmosphere; very casual. Perfect.

Pizza was good nice history to the establishment friendly service loved reading about its history as a hotel before hand and they kept it just as it was as a hotel

Came with family and friends. We were able to get a table quickly, ordered 3 pizzas and we're surprised how quickly we were served! Pizzas were great (not the best I've had but very good) and brew list was great too. I recommend the "Ghost" Pizza - an appropriate choice for dinner prior to the Shanghai Tunnel tour!

The garlic knots were not my favorite as they had lots of olive oil to where they were soggy but their pizza was amazing!!! I didn't really like how I had to go to the bar to ask for another drink. The vibe was definitely there for the haunted aspect. I would go again for the pizza!!

Took the streetcar and walked a short two blocks and had some very good, made to order pizza with a nice selection of beer. This is an OLD restaurant, not fancy at all, and even the locals were enjoying the food. They have a haunted tunnel tour, but we did not have the time that day. We were hungry and thirsty...and we were taken care of very well. We only had a short wait for our hot pizza and enjoyed it all.

Great pizza and really good beer in a nice, intimate setting. I will definitely go back for more :-)

So this review may take a bit; but I want to make sure I give a fair and accurate review for all the visitors of the past and those who may want to visit in the future, some full details of this place, and why I left a 5***** Review. Three months ago, during our first trip to Portland, we found Old Town Pizza. The history and past top reviews brought us in. (Although some of the newer reviews at the time were questionable) It was a slow night, and the cook in the back actually explained some of the history and gave us a tour. Like some of the reviews, we had complete bad service from the bartender, with snotty looks and horrible attitude. However, we did not let her ruin our night. The pizza was awesome! The ambience was even better. I didn't write a review at the time, because I wanted to go back and get a comp, tee feel when the place was busy. So I added it to our saved list, and continued on. Last month, we ventured in for the 2nd time. To make a long story short, we walked out. The bartender was completely rude, not only to us, but to many staff and patrons. I couldn't let it go. The place is too nice, with deep history roots, and the food was just too good. So we drove right down the road to the second location. Spoke with the staff there and got all the contact information for Adam, the owner, who has put his life work in both locations. After a very long conversation, Adam made us very aware this is not how he wanted his customers treated or his business presented to his customers. Fast forward to tonight. My wife and I walked in, and instantly the vibe was very welcoming. Greeted instantly by the bartender and staff, we felt at home. The place was packed, and service was awesome. Yes, the bartender of old (who we found out was the acting manager) was no longer employed. It was a relief by us to find out the owner does care, that he made immediate changes, and you can see it from the staff. So I had to stop and make sure I write this, not for Adam or the staff, but for you. The one thinking about visiting this gem, but may be hesitate because of past reviews; that I have to assume has much to do with past employees. My wife and I have traveled all across this great country, with over 140,000 readers and almost 200 cities, so I hope you take my word and give Old Town Pizza a try. If you visited in the past and had a bad experience, go back. You will not regret a visit here & Don't be afraid to ask for a tour either! Walk around, enjoy the history of the building, take lots of pics, and have some of the best pizza around :-)

The pub, beer, and food was great. The tour was short and not very good at all. Best just to go to the pub and skip the fee for the tour.

we went here for lunch before going on the portland walking tour. great atmosphere,,,used to be the lobby of an old hotel. we had the original specialty house special pizza and it was really good. service was quick and good, and lots of great beer choices on draft. would definitely go back to this place again when in portland.

Natasha did an amazing job of leading the haunted tunnel tour! She was easy to understand and very thorough with her assistance while we were in the tunnels! Kudos to her and Old Town Pizza!!!

I came in cause I like visiting haunted places. They said the wait for pizza was about half an hour but it only took about 10 minutes! The staff were friendly and constantly asking if we needed anything. The bathroom is beautiful! Writing and stickers all over, that's what I like. And it's filled with antique stuff!

When I first walked into the place I was taken over by the smooth jazz they had playing in the back round. Definitely old town design. The bartender was very attentive and nice. You order your food yourself and wait for the food to be delivered. Wasn't a bad wait, and if it is... TOTALLY worth the wait. This is THEEEE BEST PIZZA I've had in my entire 24 years. Reccomend this place for best pizza in town. I got the old fashion pizza.

$3.50 per slice. Large generous slice. Perfectly prepared. Great prices on craft beers. Wonderful collection of various types of antique pieces. We dined of a table made from a foot pedal sewing machine. Tasty and visually interesting!

I've stopped here on two different brew tours. This last time we ordered the garlic knots. They did not disappoint. I always tell my friends to make sure they come here when they go to Portland. The pizza is delicious as well.

Stopped for a quick flight—got to try all 9 beers on tap for just $11. Hard to beat the price. Solid beer spot to try when in Portland. Would have liked to see the underground area, but the bartender told us it is only accessible on separate walking tours.

we wanted to return for lunch yesterday/sunday during a rainstorm, as we live close....the nba playoffs were on, and it was cozy inside...i had the sun gaze lager, and my partner had the chocolate porter...next we shared a spinach salad minus the proscitto....i had the caprese grilled sandwich, and she had the beer /macheese....the staff/bartender is always so nice, he is funny, and efficient....the drinks/food were superb....we love coming here, thx!

The thin crust pizza was wonderful. The flavor of the sauce and cheese was great. A nice crispy crust was just the way we like it. The beer, however, was mediocre. We had the Scottish ale and the IPA and both were only ok, not great. The beer seemed a bit watery and without flavor. Get the pizza to-go and grab different beer.

Obviously just my opinion but I love this place! weird decor and all. They brew their own beer and rotate their taps fairly often which is great but the standout is their pizzas in particular their House Special which is more or less a meat heavy combination pizza (bell peppers, olives, mushrooms, salami, sausage, and pepperoni) They've got a dynamite Margherita pizza too if you're not a meat fan. Seriously good stuff, stop reading and try it already!

Great location for this historic pizza place. They have a great selection of their own beers and to top it off, the pizza is great!

I was in town for one night and stumbled upon this place for dinner. It was a very cool looking place inside with the haunted history and all. The food was excellent and well priced. The staff the night I was there was great and friendly. This place is a little out of the ordinary but if that's what you like and aren't expecting a bright place with overly cheerey staff that you get at a chain and want real people that will talk to you if you don't treat them like servers then I don't see they'd be in different as some others have suggested in other reviews. I definitely recommend this place to try some great micro brews and pizza.

Excellent food and on site brewery . Meatball sandwiches and Lager superb Great atmosphere and friendly people,I highly recommend it

We really enjoyed the pizza, it was very tasty. The atmosphere of this building is great because it is so old and they have some antiques inside to add the character. It has a weird crazy restroom with too much to look at. Beer selection is good, but service is basic. Good place for pizza for sure!

My work took us out to pizza here and it was a great experience. We had the ghost pizza, the BBQ, and the combination one. We all agreed the BBQ pizza was far and away the best. We also tried three salads, the caesar, Greek and house. All were very tasty. Overall solid pizza/food and service. Would definitely go back.

My wife and I sat outside in October which was suprisingly nice but it did get a little cold while consuming some cold beverages. The food we had hit the spot and the service was very friendly.

We ate lunch here after unsuccessfully trying to park at higher ranked pizza places. We were lucky enough to find a parking spot and were glad that we had waited. These folks make a really good pizza! Since we had kids with us, we loved the fact that we could get individual slices of pepperoni pizza for the kids (their fave), and still pick a pizza for us. My daughter and I had them make a half/half of Dragon Lady and Pesto special. It was really good! We also ordered the garlic knots (which were amazing)!! I also ordered one of their beers...the Big Lestoutski, which was a pretty fabulous stout! Customer service was good, and the place itself was really cool! I'd definitely go back if I get back that way.

Stopped in for a bite before the play--really glad we did. I have been visiting this place since they opened. Now they brew beer on site--and wow it was really tasty. Loved the Hells Belg, saison. My hubby thinks its the best beer he's ever had. Plus they had a great Kolsch too. Pizza was yummy. We opted for the hand thrown crust. Half Dragon Lady and half margherita. Both good choices. Crust was light, I'll take that! Had a small side salad as well, fresh with good bleu cheese dressing. Sat at the bar, had a lovely bartender--they are a full bar here too! Pricing is good, help is nice, beer is tasty as is pizza.

The restaurant wasn't busy, maybe three tables in total yet our server was too preoccupied with trying to impress his manager to notice we needed a drink, missed giving us our salad and failed to ask how our food was. I think more attention to the customer would have been a huge difference in my rating.

We got a cheese pizza that was overcooked and tasted like a saltine cracker. The salad tasted fine but was quite small.

The building is pretty cool! I was not getting the haunted vibe from it however. The pizza was just average to me, I was really hoping for something a lot more special. On the day of my visit the brewery/bar was out of 4 ( of their 9 beers) so this was pretty disappointing to me, as we went out of our way to get there and then didn’t really get any beer.

I had a small vegetarian pizza which looked more like a medium and it was really good and fresh. The place is really nice inside with a lot of decorations and an Irish feeling. The staff was friendly. The only thing was the place feels a bit tight and could be a bit more clean. There was some dust around and an irregular broken wood floor under my chair. But despite that its a great place to eat.

Went went to Old Town Pizza and Brews because I love pizza, others love beer, and it is rumored to be haunted. We all wanted to see if we would see the ghost of Nina while we ate. The guys tried some flights of beer, and enjoyed both the award winners and the not-so-normal brews. We tried 3 different pizzas and the garlic knots - all delicious. The staff was very laid back and friendly. The whole place is filled with unmatched old furniture and stained glass. And the bathrooms are decoupaged with pics and type. We all enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and I would definitely go here again!

Pizza was great and the staff was very nice, my husband loved the beer, would definitely recommend. The building is very old so it gives it character, parking was hard to find but eventually found some down the street. Pizza came quick.

A great place for some pizza and beer, but it's worth going for more than the food. The atmosphere is very unique and portland-esque. Plus, legend has it this place is haunted and it really has an interesting back-story for those history fans. Worth checking out for sure.

The pizzeria is located in a very nice part of town. We were in a hurry, call them to ask to prepare the pizza before we get there and, in fact, the pizza was already in the oven when we arrived. The pizza is ok , but the beer is worth it. It is very good. The service is also very good.

We had a pizza, it was very good. Loved the old building and history. Service was was a little slow for how busy it was but it was still a good experience!

Our Haunted Pub Tour ended at this spot. The wonderful smell of pizza was one to drive you to mad for the tour guide to end so you can rush to order your own slice of heaven.

My mother and I visited this place after finding it in a local guide book. We both loved this place! The atmosphere was definitely a throwback to the past and the pizza was great! They have pizza by the slice and you can also order a whole pie. The slices are thin and large. Allegedly there is a ghost that resides in the restaurant which definitely ups the cool factor. Next time I’m in Portland I’ll be sure to swing by again.

Great old building, good pizza, excellent beer. Super place for a family. I was there with my wife visiting family from Massachussetts. Grandson Jason De Angelis, age 7+, wrote the rest of this review. His mother, Lisa, and I helped... but not a whole lot. THE REST OF THIS REVIEW IS WORTH READING, EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIKE PIZZA! --------- Old Town Pizza is located in a once-rough part of town. Nina was the name of a young woman who worked there until her sudden death one day. She fell down an elevator shaft because the door was open. Nina had wanted to go to the top, but ended up on the bottom. Dead! Some people thought she was pushed. I went with my family to Old Town Pizza one day. When I learned about Nina the Ghost I knew that this was a case I had to investigate. This would include a search for clues. My first search was with Daddy. We were just looking around to see what we could find, and we found the elevator shaft. Then we went back to eat our dinner. The pizza was great! I had cheese pizza, and I loved it. The second search was pretty exciting. After dinner Daddy and I looked around again. Daddy found a chest. It had a note written on a napkin that said “Curse the soul who opens this chest.” Poor Daddy! This meant that he was cursed. We didn’t know what this meant exactly, I was sad for him because he was cursed, but it wasn’t really my fault because he was the one that opened the chest. Daddy seemed to be feeling his normal feeling, not sad. We came back to the dinner table and told Grandpa and Granny and Mom what had happened. Grandpa was terrified, Granny was spooked, and Mom was super excited! Everyone joined Jason and Daddy to look at the note. When they arrived at the chest, it was still there! Now I had witnesses to prove that the note was real and that I was telling the truth. We looked all over the rest of the Haunted Pizza Place. Just outside of a mysterious room there was a group of strange people. When we asked them if they had seen the ghost, they pointed to a painting: it was Nina, the Ghost of the Haunted Pizza Place! Something made us go into a Mystery Room. There were a lot of weird things in there, including a very unusual statue of a horse. I was totally in awe. Grandpa found a door with two locks on it. Daddy wanted to know why the door had two locks on it. Grandpa said “I’m suspicious of this,” and shook the door very hard. It made ghostly rattling sounds. Or was it a warning from Nina? Grandpa noticed a peephole in the door with two locks. He went over and peeked through the hole, then started to howl with fear. The old guy was so afraid that he couldn’t tell anyone what he saw. Next, Granny was shocked when she looked in the peephole. She couldn’t see anything because it was pitch black. Things were getting weirder and more intimidating every second. Finally, I looked in the hole and saw that it was all black in there. When I looked in a second time an eye looked back and I freaked out!!! “I’m terrified!” I said, over and over. This was a ghostly situation indeed. I went downstairs as bravely as possible and told the bartender about what had happened. He said “Ewww, that’s scary!” When I told the cashier what had happened., she responded “That’s daunting and creepy.” After that there was one more search, this time with Mom. Back we went to the elevator shaft and peeked inside. Suddenly we heard the most distressing and dismaying thing in the entire time we were there. That sound was “AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” That must have been the same sound she made when she fell down the elevator shaft. Now I was totally confused, but excited. Mom was quivering from feeling scared and excited at the same time! We decided we should probably leave now. How does Nina feel about this? Nina may have been upset that we disturbed her? Or maybe she was glad to have company? We’ll never know, because we got out of there FAST!

The history behind the building is quite interesting, the inside is definitely unique! Their food is satisfying and good. We had a large thin crust, garlic knots and spinach salad. The dressing on the salad was unique and quite delicious! I highly recommend a visit to this pizza place when you are in Portland!

We stopped in for pizza and beer on our road trip. Great building great food and great service. Parking was tough, but worth the little walk to eat. The building is super old and haunted, definitely worth going to. We had the ghost pie very good pizza and tried the beet beer, different beer.

A must visit for us when we visit Portland! Great pizza and fun atmosphere - the restaurant is part of a haunted tour. Great selection of beer too. If you are a large party you might have trouble finding a table large enough - lots of 2 tops. Don't miss ordering the garlic knots!

We went on the underground tour and then had a beer tasting after. The best part about the tour was our great guide. We really enjoyed the tour. We learned some of Portland's history and got to see kind of the 'backside' of the restaurant.

The pizza was outstanding and the beer delicious but definitely not the place for small kids. They advertise as family friendly but they're family tolerant at best. Pretty appalling service (it's self serve for most part but even getting the pizza to your table seemed hard to achieve). But some of the best pizza I've had in a long time. If you can manage to get a babysitter; highly recommended.

The place has a lot of character with an interesting history. The atmosphere is very historic and cozy. I wasn't a big fan of the pizza or beer. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good enough to recommend. I can only hope there is better pizza elsewhere in Portland.

My wife and I visited Portland last weekend for a continuing education course. Needless to say, we did not know much about the area. One of the tourist guide maps at the airport had this bar/restaurant advertised on the front. Glad we saw it - well worth checking out! The pizza was fantastic and affordable. Highly recommend the cotton candy hard seltzers they have - you can only buy them there! Our bartender, Anne, was extremely friendly and attentive. Natasha, our tour guide of the "Haunted Shanghai Tunnels" underneath the building was also wonderful. Definitely worth checking this place out if you are in the city!

Try the black kolsch. All of the beers were very good. I didn't try the pizza, but it smelled great. It's definitely worth a visit

I feel like brewery experiences all depend on who you're with and what you want. There are some breweries where I love the food but the beer is 'meh,' or some that are a blast with a crowd. In Old Town's case, it was perfect for flying solo. Popped in post-conference nearby to kill time and sat at the bar. Great beer, great conversation with the bartender and other patrons at the bar. Liked it so much I ended up going back the next day! The smell of pizza is heavenly but by-the-slice doesn't start until later in the night.

When we're in Portland, this is one of our must-visit places. The pizza is fabulous...crust is not too thick not too thin. Good choice of toppings too. Caesar salad is very garlicky but all the salads are a nice size for sharing before the pizza comes. A bit difficult to find, but worth it!

The bartender was very friendly! They had an excellent selection of beers, even tried the Coconut Curry and it was good! The pizza was delicious and you can order in as small of a size as 10"!

We were in town for a wedding and after reading about this place, we had to come out and experience it. The place is located in a not so nice area but was never given a reason to worry! The place is small but had plenty of charm! When you go in you grab a menu then place your order at the window, then you go and find yourself a seat. They a great selection of their own beer as well as wine and liquor. We ordered garlic knots as an appetizer before our pizza. Both items had great flavor and we enjoyed them. Staff was friendly and even told us some of the history of the place. Ask about the elevator shaft. Our only complaint was how cold it was inside while we ate, but that's it. Check it out!

The best pizza and it’s haunted? What a bonus! This is in a part of Old Town that is away from the busy tourists, on a quiet street. We took an Uber, so not sure about parking. They have thin crust and original crust to offer. We had the original curst combination and it was DELICIOUS! It was garlicky and the veggies were still crisp and not overcooked mush. They make their own beer and offer no outside beers. Not sure if that’s a negative or not. We had a great time and enjoyed the ambiance and the food. Definitely will return on our next visit to Portland!

This has to have been the very worst pizza I have ever eaten. There was no flavor, the crust was like eating cardboard. Of the three ordered, no one ate any of the "exposed" crust.

We stopped in here while on vacation because we absolutely must have pizza at least once a week and I read the reviews. This place could have a lot of character and charm but it needs a good cleaning. The beer was good the spinach salad we shared was great but I've had pizza from a grocery freezer that was tastier. The pizza had absolutely no flavor at all and we left the crust behind because it tasted like nothing. I'd recommend checking out almost anyplace else if pizza is your plan.

Stopped in after taking a walking tour, on a Saturday. We each ordered a slice of pizza, and did not care for our slices. Dough was not at all crispy, have a bite to it, or seasoned. In fact the dough was gummy. As far as the taste, we don't remember. It was not offensive, but was not anything to remember. Move on down the street.

We stopped at Old town as part of the brewcycle. Second time we've done that. They did not seem happy we were there, at least twice they came out while we were there for 20 minutes to tell us to sit down in chairs...which there were few, not sit on the bikes they had or not to drink on the sidewalk. The place is more of a dive bar inside, so it wasn't really a good place to hang out for a beer..and there were 15 of us. 6 cops walked by while we were outside drinking and none said anything. They were very unwelcoming and perhaps Brewcycle should rethink providing Old town with a quick 20 minutes of easy sales.

The decor of the place is funky and the old time jazz give a great atmosphere. I didn't have any of the craft beer, but the names were colorful. Wish I had tried something other than the pizza, which was really bland and disappointing. Looking at what other tables had, the salads looked much more appetizing. In short, if you choose to go here, go for the atmosphere and not the pizza. As a side note, the place is supposedly haunted.

The building had a cool story and was fun to explore, the music mix was fantastic, the pizza was top notch and the beer was great. Had a few service mix ups, ranch was forgotten, wasn't told I could order drinks and pizza on same check, served non gluten free pizza accidentally, but the quality of food and drink and space made up for it

Old Town Pizza and Brewing offers a very nice atmosphere for enjoying beer and pizza. It has three dining areas with eccentric decor and furnishings. A wide selection of beers are available; I personally liked two of the IPAs and my wife enjoyed her pilsner. As to the pizza, very disappointing. We shared a pie with "homemade sausage." The sauce wasn't very tasty and the little pieces of sausage lacked spices. Our daughter's artichoke pizza was similarly bland. The pizzas reminded me of the ones prepared at Domino's and they cost considerably more.

Used to frequent Old Town in Eugene. It closed in the late '80s when the university crowd discovered delivery. Now I drive to Portland to get Old Town, yes over 100 miles each way. It ruined pizza for me. Gotta have pizza? Hop in the car a fill-up the tank.

Business lunch in between meetings. Mini pizza was huge and delicious. Colleagues had salads and those were also a hit. But the building...old historic hotel..priceless experience. Loved the architecture and huge windows. We looked around upstairs too. And found out that the Shanghai tunnels were under the building too. Worth a stop for lunch or dinner

We heard about this haunted pizza parlor in Old Town, and specifically went downtown in order to have dinner here. Walking in, the staff was very nice and told us which room was rumored to be haunted because of the trap doors where long ago patrons were shanghaied. We ordered a thin crust pizza, but the crust was really not very thin and actually bready. They didn't have a lot of toppings to choose from - for example no bacon or hamburger. We ended up ordering a BBQ Chicken Pizza and it was good, just not what we were hoping for. The place had a historic feel to it, and the staff was friendly enough. Apparently they had a vast array of different beers to choose from. I would recommend this place for the experience...we just weren't wild about the pizza.

We came here today, a family of four, and enjoyed our lunch very much! Excellent pizza and you HAVE to order the garlic knots. So doughy, garlicky and delicious! The beers are also very good. I had a wheat beer and my husband had the red ale and a hazy pale ale. Loved the ambience and casual vibes. Wish we could have taken the tunnel tour but minors are not permitted.

4 slices of pizza and 2 beers will run $25. The beer was decent. The pizza was greasy from the pepperoni. This is a self serve restaurant. You place the order and wait for it to come to the cashier.

Went here the other night for a quick snack. The server recommended the Nachos. Should have went with pizza since they lacked cheese and extras. I did like the feel of the place and it was clean and great servers.

Pizza was amazing and at a nice price! Me and my friend shared a small house special pizza, it was perfect! Didn't see staff so much, but when we did they were nice and helpful. Very laid back vibe. Loved it!

Went for the Haunted Tunnels Tour and beer tasting. Enjoyed both. Relaxed in the pub with a pint of cider and a small plate of garlic knots with really delicious marinara dipping sauce.

Pizza is good. Crust isn't too chewy. Slices are large. Good salad. Beer selection is small but solid. Nice, dive bar.

This place was just a little too weird. The layout is bizarre, and the atmosphere is odd. You line up at the bar to order drinks after you line up to order pizza at another spot. The service was indifferent at best, no one seemed to care that much whether you got your pizza or not. The pizza itself was decent, but we were expecting much more from a "brewery and taproom" in Portland. We won't go back.

I went here for lunch. I love pizza, but what drew me here was the history. The restaurant is situated in what used to be an old hotel. The hotel had trap doors, and people were regularly kidnapped through these trap doors. The history is available to read when you get there, and there are tours of the underground, but you have to schedule those separately. On another note, the pizza was fantastic. Definitely a great choice!

We were coming from another event in the next block and stopped in for just a beer. We did not need food. The craft beers were very good and reasonably priced.

We heard this place was haunted so of course we checked it out. It definitely had that vibe. You order when you walk in and then you chose where you sit. We ordered their specialty pizza and some garlic knots which were recommended on here and we loved them both. My husband and two teenagers will definitely be returning when we visit Portland again.

The beer flight is the way to go, but their Gose was awesome. The atmosphere and the history of the building are just a bonus.

We were walking along and a " Brewery Tour" went past us and we followed them into this place, or we never would have gone in. It is very cool! It is known for being haunted. The beer was great! We tried a slice of pizza and it was delicious. The décor is very old, atmosphere is fun, it's divided into little areas so you can sit in varies areas where it was private. There were people from the tour , families, and couples there. We sat at the bar, had excellent service, tried a new beer that was delicious, played a game of cribbage, and had a great time!

went in b/c we heard it was haunted and the kids were excited about eating in a haunted pizza place. The pizza was amazing and the beer was equally as good. Staff were really patient with our younger kids who asked questions about "Nina."Would definitely recommend.

We decide to tried this place for their pizza and local beer, the garlic knott's are really good, the beer is fantastic but the service can be slow if you order pizza (which is delicious)

Stopped in to this fine place after a bike riding tour and had some refreshments of the adult kind and salads for lunch. very clean for a old building, great food and good service.

Great Pizza and lots of local brewed beer or wine. Unique venue in old hotel from the "old days" with a fantastic ghost story to go with it. My daughters loved it! Pizza was as good as I have ever had and not expensive.

This is a cute little pub with great pizza. BBQ pizza was delicious and the meatball sub really good!

Cool old place, variety of pizzas, salads were good too and generous. Bit of a wait for pizza (1 hour) at night (10pm) , not sure if there is a better time to go. Worth it? Not sure.

Quick service after we were seated. Appetizers were quick to come out and garlic knots were excellent. No problem to mix a half and half pizza, good local brews with a wide variety of selections.

I just don't find this place great...pizza is so-so. Customer service so-so. Not super clean. Cool building..love history, but wish we had gone elsewhere.

Stumbled into this 70's throwback in downtown Portland and was pleasantly surprised at how good the pizza was. It is an old fashioned no frills type of place, the kind we frequented years ago. Sometimes there is no reason to pay more for artisan pizza. Their pizza was good quality and the service fast and friendly.

Awesome place! Great food and history! Ask to see the elevator shaft! Dare you! Take pictures of the bathroom! A must see!

Our family had dinner here before the Shanghai Tour. We ordered 2 different pizzas and both were hot, fresh and very good. Service was excellent. Natasha was a quirky, fun and knowledgeable tour guide. We learned so much about Portland and the building the brewery is located in. Beer tastings after the tour were fun. The tour is worth the time and cost if you’re in Portland and enjoy history and the paranormal. It is definitely spooky. A word of caution - the tour takes place in the tunnels below the bar. It is very dark, ground is uneven and there are low overhead pipes and ceilings. There is also a small steep staircase you must walk down sideways to visit one area of the building. If you have night blindness, poor eyesight or mobility issues, this tour may not be the right fit.

I was pleasantly surprised by the beers. I had the Shanghai'd IPA and the Law and Porter. I enjoyed both. I also ordered the house special pizza on crispy thin dough. I wasn't expecting much having had my fair share of Northeastern pizzas but once again I was pleasantly surprised. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. I saw a few families here so I assume it is also kid friendly. I would however expect to be here for a while. There was only one server when I went and it took more than a half hour to get our pizza. It's not necessarily a bad thing if you know what you're in for. Also we were told that a slice had dropped from our pie so we were made a personal pie for free. That was a nice touch.

Everything I expected! Doug, our tour guide is very knowledgeable about Portland and the many stories therein... The pizza was perfect!

Great pizza, had the original extra large. Curst very good and plenty of ingredients. Great seating area and plenty of TV t watch sports on if you like. Good beer selection

Pretty cool place to stop in for one of their craft beers and pizza. The crust was the best ever. I sat at the bar and the service was great even though it was busy on a Saturday afternoon. They say that a ghost has been seen there but not sure if this is just a tall tale to bring in the customers. There are sveral seating areas with a lot of antique furnishings. It does have a unique atmosphere about it. I would recommend going there.

Our tour guide, Jason was terrible. He was late. He didn't introduce himself. He actually stated that he was in a hurry because he was getting on a flight directly after our tour and couldn't wait to leave to drink for free at a wedding in L.A. He said packing last night the night before is what made him late. His stories about the paranormal activities were sooooo dumb. He would say I'll tell you a story, but then not actually tell the story of what happened to him. The tour was really dumb. My group all felt like we wanted a refund. Was not good. Do not recommend.

We had a cool tour of the tunnel remnants with a very enthusiastic guide who was well informed and had reading recommendations for additional info. Tall people beware- low light, low pipes. Good beer tasting after, great pizza.

Ate here with some friends while in town for a conference. The restaurant has a lot of character and the staff was very friendly. I got the pesto special pizza and it was excellent. I love a good crust and they nailed it. The on tap beer was great as well. My only suggestion would be for them to add a teleporter so patrons can enter directly without having to walk through the surrounding neighborhood.

Was there with family. Lots of funky old stuff; Old wood, exposed bricks, ancient floorboards. The place is built above part of the Shanghai tunnels and you could imagine somebody getting a "Mickey Finn" at the old bar in the 1800's and waking up at sea. Atmosphere aside, you order at the counter and food is delivered to the table. Fast, friendly service. Garlic knots and pizza were O.K., but not great. Drinks were good. A place to go to get your Portland history ticket punched.

After walking around all the bums on the sidewalk, we got a wonderful old fashioned combination pizza, crispy thin crust, great Italian sausage, kalamta olives, green pepper, mushrooms, salami, tomatoes, fresh basil, onions just like in 1970s. Antique furniture and friendly atmosphere inside. Good staff and service,

This was on our want to see list while traveling in Portland. Although the claims to be haunted drew us in, it was really the food that kept us there. Pizza was very good service was excellent salads were fresh and flavorful I would definitely recommend stopping in again if you want to have some great pizza and cold beer in a kitschy little place.

A friend and I ended up here in the afternoon, during the lull between lunch and dinner. But the quietness added to the haunted house / ghost-town-saloon feel to the place! Staff members were friendly and service was good. We shared a Dragon Lady pizza: sundried tomato, mushroom, white onion, artichoke heart, and capers. I really liked the pizza dough and even though the toppings wouldn’t be my first choice I ended up digging it. For beer I believe we tried the Shanghai’d IPA and the Sun Dazed Kölsch… Well, whatever we tried, the beers were also very good. This place doesn’t have the highest rating, but I recommend giving it a try. I’m also giving Old Town Pizza 4/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • They brew their own beer, avoiding the environmental costs of packaging and transportation. • They use local ingredients for beer and food (pizza flour, etc.). • They could do with more transparency on the ingredient sourcing, besides saying “locally-sourced.” • Five of their eight specialty pizzas are vegetarian. (Gluten-free also available.) • They don’t mention using any organic ingredients (organic flour, cheese, or toppings would be nice). • They have a “Modern Milkman” program where they deliver beer to you by bicycle. • They run occasional fundraisers: in January there was one for the Doernbecher Children's Hospital. Ever written a green star review? Please contact me if you have, or would like to know more!

Old Town is an experience unto itself, but be brave and venture forth for great personalized pizza and award-winning beer. You get the experience free of charge in this supposedly haunted old building with eclectic furnishings and fun staff who may very well be moonlighting actors. It's just so different it's cool. Our adorable server, Ash, couldn't be nicer and more accommodating in her one-of-a-kind apron. Go for the regular crust pizza though...the thin crust is a tad disappointing. If you like very garlicky Caesar salad, this is the place for you. Loved the small house special pizza but sans green peppers so I can sleep horizontal tonight.

The pizza was good, the atmosphere was relaxing and lots of nostalgia to look at. The food was nice and hot although our order was taken down wrong - we eventually got the sandwich we ordered with the pizza.

We had lunch here and it was one of the best meals of our trip to Portland. First off, the building itself is really cool, it's an old hotel with tons of history and filled with antique furniture. Each seating option and table is unique, we were right next to a window that let in tons of light. There are no waiters, when you arrive you are handed a menu, then you go up to a window (like a bank teller) and place your order, paying at the same time. We started with garlic knots, which my daughter loved, then we had a "classic" style pizza with fresh mozzarella and it was truly excellent. Ordering at the bar is separate, they had 9 taps and I tried several of them, all were fresh and tasty. A very cool place in an old neighborhood, we will definitely be back for more goodness on our next visit.

This is my most favorite pizza place ever. Love the atmosphere and the interesting history too. We'll certainly be back.

Given the price of this tour, I was generally unimpressed with what it actually is. The guide has a very strong personality and peculiar mannerisms that may rub folks the wrong way. Quite a few of the jokes landed flat and the well rehearsed speel was not enough to distract from what isn't there... which would be much of anything worth looking at. While at one time it may have had history and mystery, now it's just a bunch of basements with pipes and electrical boxes. The lights stay off to maintain the mystique, but even continual encouragement to take pictures wasn't enough to overcome that this was nothing worth taking a picture of. Recommend skipping this one. Perhaps try to the USS Blueback tour, which although a totally different subject, has excellent guides.

We happened to be in downtown area and this was a place listed as a destination to visit due to its 'haunted' history. Its in an old building with a lot of character, but they really didn't play up the haunted destination at all. Decent bar with a nice selection of microbrews (but then I'm finding that applies to most places Portland) The Caesar salad was very good, with just the right amount of flavorful dressing and crisp greens. The cheese bread was really just pizza crust topped with cheese and was so-so. If they had a better pizza crust this would be a better place - the crust was just sort of 'bread-y' and lacked flavor in my opinion. The pizza was good - and their house made sausage was very good with a bit of kick. Once again the crust, just wasn't enough to make this a great pizza place. They have a lot of good things here, just not enough for me to make a great place, but very close. You order at the front window, then go to the bar to order your drinks - sort of an inconvenient system IMO, but the staff was friendly and the service was decent enough.

Went for a tunnel tour and tasting and stayed for more beer and delicious pizza. They brew their own beer and I liked several.

Nice pizza pub restaurant. The pizza was good but no fantastic, about what I have come to expect from a established pizza restaurant. Didn't get to try too many of their beers due to the nature of my visit so can't really comment there. Their multi level seating provides good privacy and atmosphere. Overall had a nice experience.

Great beer and great pizza. Really thought it was a cool environment and a fun place to eat and drink. Got a couple of specialty pizzas and some garlic knots. I would eat here again

Extremely popular so must be good. We sampled :- 1. Haunted Shanghai'd I.P.A. at 6.5% volume; 2. Pacific Wonderland at 5.5% volume followed by Hopzeit Autumn, both from the Deschutes Brewery; 3. Kells I.P.A. at 6.3% volume and Post Alley Pale Ale at 5.4% volume. It should be noted that the U.S. breweries have come on in leaps and bounds in the last decade and typically brew beer at a stronger strength than back in Britain. They hold an extensive range both brewed on site and bought in. Tables are long and can be hard to come by especially at week-ends.

The only reason for not giving it a 5 is that when we stopped in at about 9 the place was empty, which made us question whether we had made a good choice. We opted for take-out and brought the pizza to our hotel, and we were pleasantly surprised on how good the piazza was. Next time in Portland we'll make sure to stop and eat there (maybe a little earlier than 9pm).

I had been here several times. The first time was with a couple from San Bruno who showed interest in doing the Shanghai Tunnel Tour, but got cold feet. They opted to eat here. The rumour is that this place is haunted. Buy the only thing groaning were the stomachs of this San Bruno pair. And if a ghost should have appeared when they were armed with knives and forks– They would have had it for an appetizer. I came in initially to have a beer and a pizza. Gather what Info I could concerning said ghost. I found that Old Town Pizza has several fliers about the lobby. One was for a haunted beer tour. Another had a wee bit of history about the building. The place itself is interesting for the old style decor of the furniture. Some looking like old antique furniture from back in the day when this place was a Hotel. I ordered an Original Small 10" pizza. With Pepperoni. For my drink I ordered a pint of Red Imperial. This came to about $18.45 and it was about this time that the girl behind the ordering counter noticed my black T-shirt and exclaimed, “You’re a Film Noir member.” She was keenly interested in the foundation and their festivals. So I said I would talk to her about this later on. I inquired about the ghost and my server told me that she hadn’t experience it. Things have been rather quite. I walked toward the back and took a seat at a small table in what looked like a room from the old hotel. Antique tables and chairs. The walls were red brick here. I sat alone. Never once feeling the presence of anything except for my warm pizza and my cold pint of Red Imperial. And yet I couldn’t help but think and wonder about the spirit. The spectral suspect went by the name Nina. A working lady of the night– turned informant. She was later found dead at the bottom of an elevator shaft. This was over 100 years ago. And yet, she has been reported seen in the dining room– wearing a black dress. Or so the story goes. Like I said, I sat alone. There was nothing to be seen or heard in the room with me. Zip. Nada. No Nina. I finished my meal and walked to the front room to have a look at the big chalkboard where they list the beers available. I ordered a Freudian Slip. A Vienna Lager that was priced at $5.50 and tasted pretty good. All the beers listed on the blackboard are beers that they brew on site. She told me that their most popular beer at that time was the Shanghai’d IPA. I chatted a bit with here about the Film Noir Foundation and the Noir City film noir festivals they hold in the Castro Theater every year in January. And what it is like to attend. Then I walked out into the night west on NW Davis and around the corner on NW 3rd. Hobo’s is located there. And this is where the people taking the Shanghai Tunnel tour gather to start the tour. I reckon that this whole block share something in common. They might be standing right over spook central. Yes, I would have to take the Shanghai Tunnel Tour and find out more about Old Towns history, secrets, and spirits.

On entering the place we were completely ignored by the staff, a couple who went in just before us wandered around and left without being seated! On asking somebody I was fairly brusquely advised that I needed to find a seat & then order beer at the bar & pizza at the pizza order point. As it was already late we did this rather than leaving - beer was very tasty and pizza was excellent, as it should have been as bill for two adults & two small children for starter & 1 shared pizza just came onto my credit card at just over £65!

We were getting hungry and wanted to eat nearby instead of taking the MAX back to near our hotel on the other side of the river. We saw this place and decided to go. I had a beer and my wife had a glass of Riesling wine; both were good. We also ordered a Hawaiian Pizza, also good. They offer a tour of the tunnels beneath their place (there's a historical blurb on their menus), but it wasn't available when we were there.

Several of us went there for a birthday party. Music was too loud. Three different pizzas, and all were terrible ! $31.50 for a crummy pizza ? What a ripoff ! No one liked the pizza. Sorry, but we won't be returning.

I had tried to see if this pizza place was still in operation, so I just had been driving on the wrong street or something. I was happy and surprised that this was still so yummy, and they even have thin crust pizza now. When I used to go here some thirty years ago, they only had their signature pizza. They are both awesome! I will come back

I stopped in here to kill a couple hours, and really enjoyed my experience. I ordered a flight from the bar, sat down in a booth, and quietly enjoyed myself and the beer. I was there at an off time in terms of crowds, and it was nice to just soak up the atmosphere. Can't say I experienced any ghosts, though ;-)

This place was amazing, the waiters are honestly very dedicated to their job and every single piece of pizza had lots of care put into it I would recommend this place any day, overall this place is great, but we didn't see nina the ghost and also watch out for the neighbourhood it is not the safest place

Wonderful food and atmosphere . We did the Shanghai haunted tour, which was very interactive and informative. Very nice staff and had a blast. Would definitely do it again!

We chose to eat here on a whim because we had our 7 year old with us, and Pizza is always a good choice. We hadn't really researched our choice much. We ordered our food and explored the old building a bit. Another couple with three small children came in shortly after. They explained that the building was supposedly haunted. That did not surprise me at all. Its very old and everything is made of wood. All the rooms have random nooks and crannies. Pizza was good, not anything super special, but it was a fun place to visit. We had a good time visiting our newfound friends and watching the kids play and explore.

Stop by on my way out of Portland. This was some of the best pizza I have had in a long time. The sauce is perfect, just the right combo to sweet to it. I enjoyed so much I also ordered a pizza to take home with me.

I was walking all over downtown and ended up here in Oldtown. Saw the sign and thought a nice cold pint of beer would be great. so I sat at the bar and eyed the board up on the wall behind the bar and started at the taps. And selected something that fit the Occasion perfectly. Then I walked toward the back about halfway and sat at a table facing the street side windows abd just enjoyed the Atmosphere. The say this place is haunted. So far I haven't had any spirits-- Just BEER. And the occasional Pizza.

Simple service - Order as you walk in and they will bring you your meal. There is a good combination of individual meal items as well as pizza. We found the thin crust pizza to be perfect! Open bar with a good mix of beers and mixed drinks. Serve was fast. Seating is a mix and match of tables and benches. Enjoyable.

We went here with our son and his wife. Great pizza, great beer & great time!! Always a fun time in Portland!

We stumbled upon this place just walking around Portland. Lot's of homeless people in the neighborhood, but they were all very nice. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was empty. The bar is small, but there was only one guy sitting at it, so we grabbed two seats. It was hard to decide what we wanted, so the female bartender offered samples to try before committing. Not uncommon, but her approach was better than most craft breweries. Find two we both liked, I also wanted a quick snack. Pizza slices? Perfect way to wash down some beer and cure the slight hangover from the previous night. Yes, still hungover at 1:30 in the afternoon. They only offer cheese and pepperoni, but they're HUGE slices and only $3ish. The place filled in less than 15 minutes after our arrival. Some tourists and a tour group all walked in right after each other. One point of mention was the bartender. She smiled the entire time and could not have been nicer. I was impressed specifically by one thing though...I have a pet peeve of getting a pint of beer handed to me by a bartender or server and having the outside of the glass be covered in beer. Call it petty, but now my hand is covered in beer because I have to grab that glass. This bartender had a simple squeeze bottle of water next to her taps and, when necessary, she rinsed the outside of the pint/glass to make sure the customer had a cleaner experience. Mind blown. Why don't all bartenders do that? Oh yeah, because it's more work. I guess if they knew how to pour a beer properly, they wouldn't let it run all over the glass to begin with. They have a great employee in this bartender (sorry didn't get name) and I hope she's there the next time we stop in. Can't wait to go back and try more beer and sit down for a full pie.

We ordered 3 small thin and crispy pizzas and one gluten free pizza for 4 people, because we all like something different on our pizzas. We loved the way we could choose our own toppings. We also ordered 3 garlic knots and a salad. The garlic knots are nice, but a bit white bread dough-y. The pizzas are really good, but small they are not, they're about the size of a big family pizza in Australia, except the gluten free one which was the expected 10" size. The gluten free base was very good, according to my daughter. The staff are lovely, the beer was good, the service was great. We ended up boxing half of each of the three thin and crispies and giving them to the homeless on our way back to our hotel. Love the ambience of the "haunted" building, too.
Delivery: Excellent
Ordered pizza & salad for delivery to a nearby hotel. The food was excellent. Pizza was hot, crust crispy and the salad was perfect.
