I'm often traveling around the globe in search of great restaurants, but when at home, this is where I go. The atmosphere is charming, and there's a lovely patio. The menu is pretty big, and consistantly, reliably good. Try the Kale Salad, Olea Veg. Salad, the Ribeye and whole Orata are great! Patatas Bravas w/ spicy aoli are always yummy and satisfying. Lunch and Brunch are also delicious (green Eggs & Lamb!), but Happy Hour is not to be missed. There are fantastic deals on Sangria, wine and Tapas at the bar. A locally owned, locally staffed gem that seems to only get better over the years!

I usually don't like tapas but Olea completely won me over. Every dish was excellent, the staff friendly, and a good time was had by all. I highly recommend this restaurant when you are in Brooklyn.

$20 bottles of wine and a great atmosphere. Plus, fried sausage stuffed olives were awesome. Good find.

If you're seeking delicious, Mediterranean cuisine in a charming environment, pay a visit to Olea Mediterranean Taverna in Fort Green, Brooklyn. The restaurant's aesthetic is warm, cozy, and has influences from Spain, Greece, Italy, and the rest of the Mediterranean. They have a great menu, with lots of options. If you're one who has a tough time settling on one item, they have a great tapas menu with a nice variety. I ordered the Swordfish (pan-roasted steak, butternut puree, crispy cannellini beans, Persian tapenade). You can read my full review with photos at http://sprungonfood.com/2014/04/09/olea

This is a sweet corner restaurant that beckons you to come and wile away an hour or two sampling their inventive mediterranean fare over a leisurely glass of wine. The staff is attentive, the food presentation mimics the textures and colors of the room, many dishes are truly decadent and delectable. My only regret is that I forget how overly salted some of the dishes are. The simple green salad, in particular, was almost too salted to eat. And do bring gum -- one of my colleagues side salad was a bowl of onions with a few leafs of lettuce hiding under cover.

great greek/mediterranean tapas in Ft. Greene. worth the walk from the Slope.

On the way to see a band, decided to stop at a Tapas, and found OLEA on Trip Advisor - OMG! At 6.15 on a Saturday it was packed and we snagged the last 4 seat table. We shared everything (Lamb meatballs, Beef meatballs, Kale salad, Patatas Bravas, trio of dips, Gambas, Spanish piitza), and it was all super. Best 2 dishes were Brussels sprouts and Dates-in-Bacon. We had 2 bottles of White Rioja. Our server (a young Brooklyn hipster) was very helpful, had some great advice and very friendly. Don't miss it, you might need to book a table

Great live shows (Flamenco dance, guitar and singer)

Two couples met at Olea for an early Sunday night dinner. The restaurant says it's closed from 4-5:00, but when we arrived about 4:40, patrons were still finishing drinks and food. We liked seeing that as it says that the place won't rush you out just so they can have a break. Three people ordered wine; one person wanted to eat only appetizers; no problem! I ordered the Branzino which was a large whole fish beautifully flavored with fresh herbs and with a generous side of broccoli rabe mixed with peas and zucchini. Definitely worth returning for, especially as many restaurants have lately been serving something called Branzino when it isn't. One person ordered the vegetarian paella and another the Arctic char- I can't vouch for those as I didn't taste them. We did share a sesame ice cream sundae which was yummy and worth ordering again. The restaurant is casual, and the bathroom was clean. For desert

Normally I never hand out 5 stars, but the overall value for money, the welcoming staff and atmosphere is simple awesome. We tried the vegan burger (first time and very skeptical) but it really tasted great and a very good alternative to beef ! (Did I really say that?) Highly recommendable .... try it!

I recently ate at Olea again and continue to be delighted by the food and the staff at this excellent Mediterranean restaurant. The assortment of delicious sauces/dips for their pitas, including standards like hummus & tzatziki, or their beet or romescu are a fantastic start to a meal. You can easily satisfy yourself with their tapas & appetizers without even venturing into the main dishes. On this occasion I did just that enjoying artichoke croquettes, pita with sauces, fried haloumi cheese (a personal favorite), a kale salad and lamb keftedes with my friend. The ambience is always pleasant and we dined for two delectable hours. Olea is a neighborhood staple for me, always welcoming and reliably delicious.

Four of us arrived for brunch, 11:30 on a Sunday. No brunch reservations are taken, so we had a 40 minute wait before we could be accommodated. It appeared the larger the group, the longer for the wait for a table in this tightly packed, extremely popular restaurant. Once inside, we quickly understood the popularity. The staff couldn't be friendlier or the drinks better made (particularly the Bloody Mary). The food, every dish ordered, was brunch heaven, generously sized, and well prepared. The Green Eggs & Lamb (merguez sausage), and the Spanish omelette (chorizo, manchego & mild, piquillo peppers) were stand-outs, as were the chocolate croissants. This is a great place to grab a bite before or after any performance at or around BAM, and plenty good to be a homey food destination on its own, a 20-30 minute subway ride from midtown Manhattan.

Daughter took us to Olea in Brooklyn on Friday night -- we arrived at happy hour. Amazing small plate specials and wines for $5 a glass! Cocktail menu was good too -- the sangria and margaritas were outstanding. But the roasted meatballs in a nutty glaze with cranberries -- what a small plat packed with flavor. Then I had the Lamb Tagine -- wow! Tender baked lamb pieces with chickpeas and other nuts and leaves, and lots of couscous -- delicious and huge portions! We also ordered the sweet pizza Spanish style, and the garlic toast -- wow - the flavor. A lot of rich combos and great tastes. Reasonable prices -- $5 to $9 per small plate, and a wide menu with entrees. Didn't have time or the room to try so many other things like lamb meatballs, or fried brussel sprouts, and the hummus -- my daughter said the hummus was to die for. Service is friends and prompt -- very comfortable wait staff and servers. Cozy décor and an intimate little place...highly recommend. Go during happy hour for the best deal on drinks plus apps!

This restaurant serves brunch til very late in the afternoon (it was almost 3pm I think). I had the green eggs and lamb, which could have used a little salt, but was excellent. I loved their hummus and pita. The coffee left something to be desired. But the ambiance and food was otherwise great!

Olea is a quaint spot in BK that had an amazing happy hour and in a great neighborhood! Great food for great prices! Have the Potatas Bravas! $3-5 glasses of wine between 4-7p and $4-6 tapas between 4:30-7pm. Nice staff who were attentive for the most part, I was the only one seated outside and as a server I totally understand being easily unnoticed.

The best restaurant in Clinton Hill! People very friendly, lovely mood and the most delicious food! Recommended!

and service too. Had brunch here on a Sunday afternoon before a BAM performance. Was delighted w. food, service and atmosphere. Noise level a tad loud and my chair was several inches below my companion who was sitting on a bench,,,awkward. Savory Parmesan Toast w. lovey poached eggs was delish! Will return for dinner/tapas and maybe an outdoor table to people-watch.

I spent Christmas week in Ny, went to Olea on the 23rd of December with my husband, we're were very impressed with the food, it's fresh, tasty, well prepared, it's so delicious that on our last day we had reservations somewhere else but we cancelled to return to Olea. It was soo worth it! We had the AMAZING fried green olives, it's so crispy and tasty, then we ordered the Paella with seafood and green olives mashed potatoes. We're from Florida and we wish we had this amazing restaurant here too. Also the ambience is cozy, service is 5 stars, I can't wait to return!

I came here prior to a show nearby. It's a nice place and got two seats at the bar right away. We had the kale salad which was fine. The mushrooms were okay but a bit bland despite the bechamel sauce on them and fried shallots. The Arctic char was fine but I would have cooked it more pink. The mussels and clams were very good and had a delicious broth.

Love their brunch and prix fixe dinners.

I have been going to Olea for over five years and have always enjoyed the food, atmosphere, etc. Last month, dining with a friend, one of the plates we ordered was keftedes. Chewing a meatball should not break a tooth but someone ground in bones with the meat which resulted in a sharp pain and a broken tooth. As if this weren't bad enough, when I alerted the staff, no one cared - neither about me, a long time customer nor the food that they were serving. Complete disregard for both. All of a sudden, nobody spoke (or understood) English. No apology- not even a brandy was offered to ease the pain.I tried to call the manager all week to tell him/her what happened so that they could rectify it for future customers but the manager was "never there". (The next week at the dentist my dinner bill quickly increased to $3,000.) This is no way to run a restaurant. So, word to the wise: DO NOT EAT any ground meat there. Don't eat anything at all.

My husband and I had brunch here with my daughter and daughter-in-law. The food was great! We ordered a number of dishes to share. Lamb hash, lamb empinadillas, baked ricotta with pita, garlic bread broccoli gratin and a small veggie salad. It was all excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back and try the dinner menu.

I was greeted by a most unwelcoming hostess. Yes, she had an available table, but only when my party arrived. In other words, single diners should stay away, Olea is nice enough for those who miss the attitudes and levels of service experienced by unknowing travelers to the Soviet Union, a country that went down the toilet a generation or so ago. Soviet staff would greet you with : "we have tables, alright, but not for you". That is; when your party arrives, talk to us again. We'll have to move you back to square one, or course. If you question the inhospitable practice, you will get a free lecture on the Olea mantra: "Policy". In fact, the whole staff seemed to be aware of this magic word: "policy". Olea has a policy. Oh yes, in all fairness, the barman, the grown-up among the uber-hip, did make me a cocktail. When attempting to drink it, though, the waitresses told me that I was in their way. When I asked where i would be less of a nuisance to the help, I felt that I was told to hit the road. This is where you get off. In short; after my brief, brief visit to Olea, I felt like the staff had peed on me, before they complained that I stank. Try again? I don't think so.

This is such a cool place. Really pleasant decor, good food, relaxed vibe. Several good vegetarian options. Nice to hang out and work in the afternoon, popular in the evening. Prices on the reasonable side for Brooklyn. It’s my new favorite!

I’m reluctant to write about this spot because I wouldn’t want it to be more popular than it already is. On a random Monday night, the tapas and the Mango Sangria brought in a full house. We had the Dips Sampler with Pita bread (loved the Hummus) and the Patatas Bravas. There was the right amount of spice in the dips, enough to taste but not too much to overpower the flavors. The crowd was relaxed and easy-going. We didn’t have to yell over the great music either — it was actually background music. I’d go again.

Two dear friends brought us here and I fell in love with the place. It's very rustic feeling and it was packed out the night we were there. The menu is really interesting - tonnes of ingredients and flavour combinations I've never heard of before. The service was friendly and the portions are generous. I didn't love my dish, but would love to go back and try something else. The hot spiked cider was incredible!!

Overrated. Very mediocre...

During a recent trip to New York, my wife and I stayed in an apartment in Fort Greene part of Brooklyn. Olea was 252 feet from our front door. We ate their twice in one week and for good reason. Our first night we had dinner. I had a whole roasted branzino. It was great. We also had the lamb meatballs appetizer. The rich, thick tomato sauce was delicious. Our second dinner was just appetizers including patatas Bravas, meatballs, and white anchovies (yuuuuum). Tip: there are outside tables but when we sat outside, the mosquitos were problematic. Eat inside.

I recently had dinner at Olea prior to seeing a play at BAM which is down the street from the restaurant. The entire Olea experience was excellent. The interior is casual and elegant at once. The food was spectacular- I had the goat cheese croquettes and the super delicious Arctic Char. We ordered a bottle of French red wine which was great and reasonably priced. The service was attentive and alert and polite. It was my first experience at Olea and I will certainly be recommending it to friends and returning soon. Make a reservation- it was packed with a line out the door the night I was there.

Went to Olea last year around this time for Happy Hour upon arriving in Brooklyn. Liked it so much that when local friends suggested doing Brunch, we didn't want to pass it up. Were not disappointed! Started off with Bloody Mary's all around. Our friends ordered the Lamb Hash, Chicken Empanadas and the Turkish Breakfast. We shared the Fried Green Olives, Small Greek Salad, and Spanish Poutine topped with fried eggs. They even comped us the Bacon Wrapped Dates which were amazing little, salty-sweet nuggets! I will continue to come back to this little sweet spot in Fort Greene.

We bought tapas and a main course first time we visited and couldn't finish the main course(there was enough for dinner for the following night!) Tapas are very well done and brussel sprouts arte stand out(how often will you hear that?). The happy hour we tried on our third visit is great value for both drinks and tapas. This was a place for good quality food which is fresh and served by knwoledgeable and helpful staff. Lots of places in Brookly and Mnhattan seem to have indistinguishable menus and quality this is different and very good, Not takling bookings is a pain but they are pretty good at getting you seated quite quickly if you give them a chance.

Olea is probably my favourite restaurant in the neighbourhood. Fantastic food, reasonable prices, cute dinning room and great service. On Friday nights there is also a guy singing and playing guitar. Wine selection is great also.

We had a delightful dinner where we shared many dishes. All were great. Cozy atmosphere and great service without being intrusive. All in all, excellent Mediterranean food, comfortable, and very good service.

Went there with family for dinner. Get early , its a small, cozy with a refreshing ambiance. All appetizers and main dishes are excellent based on their flavor fusion. Its safe to order anything , its that good. the paella is outstanding! A memorable evening!

Great tapas. Try the shrimp. Sangria was strong but no fruit!

We stumbled across this place in Brooklyn. Seriously tasty salad of the day and $5 sangria all day. Really worth a visit!

Very interesting tastes due to spices combinations. We tasted meat balls (6 balls without side dish) and lamb hash. Nice interior design and atmosphere. Liked the place!

We really enjoyed our first visit here for brunch. On a Sunday, wait until 12pm and you can get a mango (& other flavored) mimosa! The french toast was super delicious with a side of lamb sausage. What you say? Lamb? The waiter highly recommended it, and although I'm not a big fan of lamb, I decided to try it, and am so glad I did. Delicious! My husband had the scrambled eggs with chorizo - another great dish. This is a small neighborhood place with a few tables outside and a charming interior. We WILL be back.

I'm a Brooklyn local, and I am never disappointed at a meal at Olea. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The waitstaff is excellent. The prices are reasonable, and you never have to wait long for a table. The menu is diverse and everything is delicious. It's the kind of place where vegetable-is-king and a salad is more than just a salad. Try the chicken paella or skirt steak for some protein. You can have a meal here guilt-free, not break the bank, and feel you like you've been transported to a far off foreign land and just ate like a King or Queen.

We had some friends in to visit and we just dropped by Olea for brunch. I had a delicious egg white omelet with greens. The table shared the Savory homemade Ricotta with pesto and walnuts - really yummy. We asked for extra pita not to leave any behind. Another order was the Spanish Pitza - very good. We eat vegetarian and it was very easy with their menu.

This is a busy bistro with a nice vibe. They offer large fresh salads, fresh sandwiches, and tapas. They have tables and benches. We arrived at 1:00 p.m. mid-week and got seated right away, but the restaurant was full the whole time we were there. I had a delightful large arugula salad with pears, pistachios, and warm breaded cheese balls.

As a rule I try not to give 5 stars as that should be for the ‘perfect experience’ however the food and service at Olea was very good indeed and anything less doesn’t seem appropriate. We were out in Manhattan and we’re back in Brooklyn later in the evening. Olea was some where I’d checked out prior to our arrival. We got to the restaurant around 9ish on a Monday night and asked if they could seat 2 which the could easily. From the outset the service was incredibly welcoming. The atmosphere in the restaurant was young professional but we felt at home there. Straight away we were given tap water without asking and that level of service continued throughout the visit. When I looked at the menu I thought some of the dishes looked a little ‘pricey’ but after eating the food we couldn’t fault the cost for the quality of what we had. We ordered fried peppers (a little like patron peppers) and some fried sprouts for a starter (entree). I had the orecchiette pasta with Italian sausage and Laura had the chicken thighs with mashed potato. Both were delicious and well worth what we spent. To the extant a couple of days later Laura commented that she was still thinking of the chicken dish. Lovely atmosphere, great food and incredible service. Thank you.

I traveled to Brooklyn, in July, to meet my new grandson-born 5 weeks early! I stayed 2 weeks to help the family, who live on Layfette, near Olea Restaurant. Just before I left, we had Brunch at Olea. This was not my first visit, and the food this time was just as good-or better than a year ago. The waitstaff was helpful, by helping my daughter in law order dairy free food. The food selections were varied-savory to sweet, and portion sizes were generous, well priced, too. The seating is close, but the decor is eclectic and fun, and there are outside options. My grandson slept swaddled thru the meal, so we all got to eat and enjoy every bite. I know I'll make a return visit to Olea next time I visit in Brooklyn. It's wonderful!

We used to live a few blocks from this restaurant. We were so happy to see to see it exactly as we remembered it. The coffee is excellent. The Olea Breakfast with scrambled eggs, lots of veggies, eggplant salad, yogurt and pita is a bargain for $14.00. I had to add an order of Patatas Bravas for old time sakes. Their recipe of roasted potatoes with a romesco-ish sauce is better than any I had during my last two trips to Spain.

laura says they have a great brunch, but the dinner i had there was mediocre. the pannacotta duo (if its still even on the menu) was excruciatingly nasty.

We walked in on a hot Saturday evening with no rez, but our hostess was very accommodating. After a short time at the bar with a nice special cocktail, the 3 of us were seated at 4 top in the middle of the room. Our octopus and salmon rillette apps were delicious, but the Paellas, Mariscos and Lamb, were out of sight. Served in hot skillets, perfectly seasoned and flavored. Loved all the food. Service was well spaced and excellent, but I spoke to the hostess when we left about our food runner, who basically tossed the meal onto the table with a rough edge. Other than that, the special creme brûlée finished a very fine meal.

My sons and I flew into JFK, took the air train to the A train, transferred to the C train and arrived in the Fort Greene neighborhood within an hour. Once we dropped our bags, I had researched local restaurants and we chose Olea. We nade it in time for Happy Hour and were very pleased with our selection of tapas style plates to share and I (mom) enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine too! It was a rainy evening and the atmosphere was perfect, cozy... and our waiter was very helpful and friendly. Perfect welcome to the Eact Coast!

Restaurant good, the food is qualitative and very successful. It's a great pleasure in Brooklyn. The service is to be reviewed, unpleasant waiter and no kindness. Cooktails are very expensive and not very good. Then go for the food but not their cooktails. The cleanliness of the bathroom is not present either....

Had the Turkish breakfast, coffee, and lovely freshly baked chocolate croissants. Man oh man, is this place great. High quality ingredients, nice atmosphere, and within walking distance of Prospect Heights. Will definitely go again soon.

If your in the clinton hill area for dinner. Be sure to grab a meal at olea. This is a highly atmospheric place on lafayette avenue that belts out a good mix of mediterranean and middle eastern cuisine. My favorite dish is the paellla with pork in it. A good twist to the usual paellas. The desert to share which was icecream with a plum crisp was strictly okay. The tapas quite good. The place was very crowded even on a weekday and i am sure its a favorite of many a brooklynite. Certainly a great place to spend a chatty evening with friends

An enjoyable restaurant that serves tapas type servings as well as menu choices. Kate Horne, general manager, was a very accommodating person for our out door seating. Matthew the waiter was very professional and attentive. The food sections were all very good as well as the accompanying wine choices. Wood definitely return again.

A cute find in Fort Greene area, where loads of great little spots can be found. I loved the breakfast/brunch dishes, many of which are egg based and come with a little potatoes and salad. Lots of flavor and things to taste on one plate. Reasonably priced, delicious food.

Crowded few tables, too hot for outside, loud, 20-25 minute wait on a hot day to sit down. This is my recirew. Should have chosen somewhere else as ths was too close to flea market.

Great tapas and wine. Beautiful setting.

A tasty and different brunch menu! I had the Turkish Breakfast....mmmm good! We got there early and didn't have to wait for a table. The service was excellent, the ambiance warm and inviting and the food was delectable!

In Brooklyn for a few days, dog-sitting for our son and daughter-in-law while they traveled, not in the Mediterranean but India. My wife and I were just in Turkey. To say we wee somewhat disappointed with our meal would be an understatement. The small plates I ordered were all different from what I expected, so I am not sure who is to blame for that. The fried Brussels sprouts seemed roasted to me, the croquettes were not smooth and creamy, the Spanish shrimp not very garlicky and the olive mashed potatoes tasted more like parsley! My Spanish Martini was good, with dry Spanish Sherry rather than vermouth. My wife did not like her Sangria - white rather than the red and she was disappointed with her paella, with wild rice rather that a white rice. So all in all, the food was adequate, but the service was excellent, attentive and efficient. We were lucky in that we beat the rush, by the time we left it was packed and loud. The place to be on Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn.

Yes. I had the green eggs and lamb. Delicious! The rest had different tapas type foods that were really tasty. Try the fried olives, also very good. What a nice little restaurant in Brooklyn.

Stopped here to eat before seeing a show at the Barclays centre, probably about a 10 min walk away, we shared 5 tapas between us and a desert and were both full at the end. The dates with bacon, cheese croquettes and meatballs were our favourites.

Went there for a Saturday brunch. Waiter took forever to take our order, then food took another forever to come. Too bad because it was quite good. They need to train their staff better but the cook is perfect

It is worth it. Very creative tapas and friendly staff. Great corner in the Dekalb area. Loved it once we squeezed in.

Met a friend for a Friday catch up dinner. Shared seafood risotto and an appetizer with wine. Not very flavorful or interesting. Almost any neighborhood place could do as well/better. Blinked and were out $35 a piece...for/???

A true gem. What a great find! Whoever put this together decided to simply marry an impeccably attentive unpretentious service and homey atmosphere with a creatively delicious and affordable rotating menu. My brunch was a magical moment that well exceeded my already high expectations. Kudos, Olea! Keep it up. I'm a new adoring fan.

We stopped at this little neighborhood restaurant on a beautiful sunny afternoon in early March. A day surprisingly warm for the season. The neighborhood in this part of Lafayette Street in Brooklyn is very peaceful although there is some traffic. So we took a seat on the small terrace on Rue Lafayette: there are actually two of them. The restaurant is located on the corner of two streets, One terrace per street! Each bistro table had a heat lamp, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The menu seemed to consist of Spanish and Greek dishes, but with a modern twist. We just had the farro salad and the onion soup: both were excellent. The service was fast, and the staff was courteous (on a New York scale!) In addition, we quenched our thirst with some good cold Mahou. The unisex toilets, however, could have used more care. In short, a nice place to grab a bite to eat if you’re in Brooklyn!

We had a very nice brunch at Olea today. My barley/lamb salad was excellent, so was my son's lamb sandwich, so was my wife's Turkish breakfast. I particularly liked the portion size - just right, not the more common feed-the-whole-village pile. The beer list was rather weak. Wine or a cocktail might be a better bet. NYC water hasn't hurt anyone yet either. Highly recommended overall.

We grabbed a quick bite at this little haven located in a residential area of Fort Greene before heading to the Barclays. Don't know if they take reservations - There was a 45 min wait for a table on a Sat night, but we were able to score a couple of seats at the bustling bar. We shared kale salad, artichoke hearts dusted w/falafel, lamb meatballs, grilled hangar steak, and hummus. All were excellent as was the bread. Will go back!

Good restaurant with a great brunch. They several great options for brunch. We enjoyed the savoury french toast and the smoked salmon omelette. Very delicious food and speedy, yet friendly service.

Time and again, NY restaurants are mediocre, overrated and unmemorable. NOT Olea - as a Mediterranean man myself, the first taste of the tzatziki with the meatballs almost knocked me off my chair - PERFECT. Excellent flavorful Greek salad, outstanding onion soup and even the shrimp gambas TASTED like shrimp! It's been a long and sad time that I have had a flat lout great meal meal in NY, but Olea was IT!

This a a tiny place that typically has a wait. We had a 90 minute wait and we arrived at 8:00pm. We started with the Almond-Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Dates. The bacon was very crispy. This was the perfect blend of salty and sweet. We also ordered the Flash-Fried Brussels Sprouts (honey, lemon, crushed red pepper) as a tapa. The sprouts were so flavorful and had a nice crunch. The arugula salad was served with pears and Goat Cheese Croquettes (herbs, crushed red pepper, with honey). I am not particularly fond of goat cheese; however having it fried and tamed with the honey took the "barn" taste right out of it. For my entree I had Sauteed Shrimp - five large shrimp sauteed in the Greek style (garlic, tomato sauce, feta, parsley, oregano, ouzo). There are 2 other styles of prep for the shrimp. I did order a side of olive mashed potatoes. They were a bit dry. I would opt for a different side next time.

The brunch menu sounded exotic and the food that arrived at our table didn't disappoint. The Turkish breakfast was delicious, well prepared and presented. The atmosphere is very casual and wait staff very friendly.

We had brunch after attending Lafayette Presbyterian Chuch. Loved the ambience. Although packed to the rafters, the service was swift and efficient. A very creative menu with mostly organic offerings. The quality of the meal was great, fresh and tasty. Definitely a treat.

The food here is always fabulous, especially the lamb sandwich at brunch. The prices are quite reasonable and the tapas combined with the environment make it a cozy date night spot. Plus it's around the corner from my house so it's super convenient. No deliveries but you can phone in orders to go.

Have stopped going to this place because the service is so "spotty" Bar service slow, but food is tasty, out of the ordinary. Love the orrechiete with brocoli rabe and sausage. A big portion to be shared.

Oleo has a warm, inviting atmosphere with hanging plants and an eclectic blend of music. We arrived in time for the tapas menu featuring soft pitas, marinated olives, and spicy cauliflower pickles. The mixed pea salad of raw broccoli, red onion, and olives with a yogurt-based dressing was light but filling. The hearty split pea soup with a savory vegetable stock was as good as any side order, while the lamb soup was almost like a stew with thick chunks of meat. The entrees were just as delightful. Served in a cast iron skillet, the Lamb Greco came covered in a forest of fresh dill. The paella was an aromatic blend of lamb, dill, zucchini, tomato, and rice. Our only mild disappointment was in the sautéed shrimp; the spices didn’t pop as much as one would expect. Throughout, our waitress was attentive, yet unobtrusive. While we were with family and friends applauding our daughter’s graduation, there were other families celebrating birthdays as evidenced by the appearance of a big cake. Understandably, the dessert menu was quite impressive. Since we were a large group, we happily sampled the warm almond tart, sesame ice cream with hot fudge, chocolate flourless cake, and Mediterranean sundae. Olea is a great place to celebrate special occasions, or just a nice night out. Overall, it was a delightful experience.

Let your self be dragged to Brooklyn and try Olea. The decoration is cozy and the crowd is easy. We shared some dishes as hummus, fried olives, Falaffel, Goat cheese Croquettes among others. All dishes were excellent. Service was nice and friendly. New favourite.

I've been living in Brooklyn for almost 20 years, and ate at Olea's for the 1st time on my birthday in August!!! At the suggestion of a friend who lives in Queens, mind you! We met for dinner and I ordered tapas and a salad, and all were extremely delicious!!! The entire menu looks and sounds AMAZING, but I couldn't order EVERYTHING, but the decision was difficult! LOL I have to go back!! Great service, drinks (Sangria is so tasty) and ambiance! I'll definitely go back soon!

new 'hood favorite.

Olea quite possibly has the BEST veggie burger EVER! They call it the IMPOSSIBLE Burger. Just a stone's throw from Spike Lee's Joint,in popping Fort Greene, lunch and dinner served up by friendly and fast waiters in the outdoor seating area. By sure to park in the correct side of the street.

I loved my lunch today! I thought the lamb hash deserved a five star rating. I enjoyed everything about it from the slow cooked lamb to the delicious sauces. Waiter was friendly and efficient! Bloody Mary's were extra tasty!

I dined here twice while visiting a friend who lives in Brooklyn. We waited a while for a table on a beautiful Sunday evening in June and it was worth the 30 minutes. The restaurant is small, comfortable and cozy. It's not fancy but feels welcoming what you'd expect from a nice mediterranean taverna! The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful with the wine and food menus. The menu is full of appetizers and small plates to share as well as entrees. We chose to share plates. We had the bacon wrapped dates and deep fried olives on both visits. They were both very tasty. We also like the lamb meatballs and a couple of the salads. This was a surprising find in Fort Green and we enjoyed the second visit as much as the first. I'll be back next time I visit!

Good bloody marys.

It's hard to find such good quality, good tasting food for a somewhat affordable price in NYC. While Olea isn't cheap, the price matches the quality of the food. Everything tasted fresh and was seasoned spectacularly. The vegetable paella is one of my favorites, and the sangria pairs well with it. The wait can be long, but the food is beyond satisfying. The interior design is nice and the tables comfortable, however, it gets quite loud with the music and background noise, so be prepared to strain your vocal chords a touch.

i went with a local and we sat at the bar because it was crowded, and found out it was popular for good reason. vegan options are available. very easy to be served and the food was really excellent, first rate actually. large enough portions to share. atmosphere is lively and bustling.

On a visit to Brooklyn in early March we waited patiently to get in for lunch. It was a Saturday and well-worth the long line and long wait. My party of four chose three items on the menu and all were worth a detour. I ate the lamb sandwich: Greek meatballs in tomato sauce on a baguette with toss salad ($15). Delicious. Two ordered "Green Eggs & Lamb" ($13) with eggs, home fries, red onion, tomato, and merguez lamb sausage. Both enjoyed. Another of the party ordered a salad with merguez lamb sausage. All of us were very satisfied. The menu is surprising in the choices and definitely worth a visit--or more.

had the lamb sandwich which was very good. you have to try the fried olives with hummus. we had to wait 10 minutes for lunch on saturday around 1pm. friendly service.

We eat breakfast here every time we go to NYC. It's worth the subway ride from Times Square! The yogurt with cherries and walnuts is outstanding. We've tried almost everything on the menu and it is all great. Green Eggs and Lamb is my favorite. My husband likes the Turkish Breakfast. Next time we plan to try the tapas later in the day, too.

I have been here for brunch and dinner and I have never been disappointed! Recently went for dinner and had the orchecciate pasta dish and it was DELICIOUS!!! I can't wait to go back and have it again! Service is efficient and staff is very friendly. Be prepared for a wait though.

We visited this restaurant while visiting Brooklyn recently on the recommendation of a Bklyn friend. Our friend did us a favor as we had a wonderful early evening meal here. Since we are light eaters, we shared a couple of appetizers (bacon-wrapped dates and goat cheese croquette) and the Arctic Char. Delightful! Well worth the visit.

What's worse than arriving to a restaurant to be greeted by a rude hostess? I don't know. Then, making us wait more than 40 minutes for a table when she could have seated us. The food is good, but the hostess with an attitude needs to work things out or find a new job. No one should be treated this way. I won't return for this reason.

Fresh, amazing flavors! Has great Greek flavors. The ambience was really relaxing with cushions and open air feel. Get the Turkish breakfast or the special french toast (might be a seasonal thing).

Very good neighborhood restaurant. Very friendly place at reasonable prices. Everything we took was very good and especially very fresh. To try, squid and goat clogged. We are really on foods market . Excellent sangria.

The food is ok but not excellent. But for a nice dinner or lunch in a cute place in brooklyn this is way to go. Not expensive and the staff is very friendly and take good care of you.

We had a wonderful dinner, multiple courses, for less than 200 for 4 (before tip). The restaurant is beautiful. This is a tapas place with many unusual and interesting dishes, a sundae with macademian nuts, a beet spread, deviled eggs. Chef takes regular tapas dishes and makes them better. Comment about wait does not surprise me, since we came on a Tuesday after Labor Day and it was packed.

I passed Olea a few time while staying in Brooklyn. On my last day it was clear - I am going there for breakfast. And luckily I did. Excellent place. Tasty food...classic food with a twist and plates are HUGE. So you might think to ask a doggy back. Waitress forgot to bring Mimosa but who cares... I would definitely come back next time in New York.

Not only is the restaurant quaint outside, but the layout and decor is inside also. Alex was very attentive and pleasant. We went for lunch and the items on the menu all sounded delicious! The portions are medium to large and still very well prepared. We will go back when we are back in Brooklyn.

This past weekend we experienced a delightful dinner at Olea in Brooklyn. We were visiting our kids in NYC and had a concert to go to at BAM in Brooklyn (an incredibly energetic interesting organization) and they suggested Olea. It was a really fun dinner. This is a small Spanish-oriented restaurant that serves both regular entrees and tapas. Because we were a bit early we overlapped happy hour and we were able to order a wide range of tapas for half price as well as drinks. It was like falling into faux- Spanish gastronomical heaven. As there were six of us, we decided to order all of the about 10 tapas dishes that were available. It was a potpourri of wonderful spices and flavors and turned out to be a great decision. The half priced drinks included a nice barbera ($4) so the vinophiles were happy and the others swilled interesting specialty cocktails. We topped it off by sharing a tasty paella which was chalk full of tasty fish. The servers and hostess could not have been nicer. They were fun, informed and very understanding of the needs of a large table. The place is crowded and the noise rises. I found it to be the great buzz of a happy and eclectic crowd, however, and not at all disturbing. Tables are close and it is a bit hard to get around when it fills up. All this was had for about $125 for six people thanks to the happy hour wonder. And it will fill up as this is a really nice neighborhood restaurant where you will have a great informal time. I want to go back but there are so so many fun and interesting places in Brooklyn. Well done Olea

If you're not eating alone and can sneak in at the bar (like me) then you will need to book - and for a reason. Staff are great, food is delicious, wine is excellent. Sometimes when travelling one craves real food - this is it. Oof - now to roll home like a little barrel...

Tips: for brunch get there by Noon or prepare to have a little wait, dinner earlier is always easier but the wait is worth it. Get the specials, always fresh and delicious. Great aperol spritzers and other cocktails that are well balanced, thoughtful, and made to order. Love the empanadillas special, squid paella, and home made pasta ( get the smaller size for one). Servers are great, know their stuff and leave you alone.

This is a warm and welcoming restaurant in the heart of Fort Greene, with an eclectic menu. The four of us all ordered different dishes and each was absolutely delicious. The wine list is limited, but varied. Be prepared for a wait - no reservations except for large parties. But dinner will be worth waiting for.

Everyone in our party loved their food. There was praise for the French shrimp, Arctic Char and vegan paella. The entrees were of adequate size and bordering on the slightly small. Two of us shared the paella, which is probably a little small for two. The taste is what filled us. Of the appetizers we shared I felt that the puréed roasted tomatoes with red peppers was the best. We also had appetizers of potatoes and one of fish fingers. The puréed tomato appetizer was a bit small, tapas size as stated on the menu. The teas we had afterwards were good. Overall the menu is Mediterranean, with a strong Greek base, pastas and a very interesting selection of paellas. The menu is well thought out and interesting with a wide variety of offerings. Seeing the Greek base, we would have shared a baklava for dessert. The desserts seem more like standard American fare: ice cream Sundae, chocolate cake, a tart. The service was very good. Attentive and responsive. Friendly without being too much. The hostess was very helpful. The crowd is spirited. I am very sensitive to loud places and it was OK for me. It was noisy but not intolerable or uncomfortable. It was not always easy to hear other members of our party of five speak. The tables are close to each other. Reservations are only accepted by emailing info@oleabrooklyn.com. The bill for five people who had four entrees, three appetizers, three glasses of wine and five cups of tea plus tax and tip was $185. Please note that they added an 18% tip onto the bill for five. We were more than happy with the food and service to not object. I am not used to restaurants adding a tip for tables with fewer than six diners. We walked there in 20 minutes from Park Slope. There is an A/C subway nearby. We all enjoyed it. I would recommend Olea.

Brunch done right! Great drink choices and Brunch specials. Lamb hash was soooo good! Chocolate crossiants were so good. Will go back. Kid friendly place as well.

I used to think that CAFE E VINO was the most romantic restaurant in Ft. Greene, but that was before I had lunch here. OLEA tops it in the "romantic ambiance" department. Olea is much less cramped. They have a mostly brick and white stucco interior with lots of antique, or at least antique-looking, thingies on the walls. There are Portuguese-style tiles along the bar, and I might have felt as if I was in a seaside bar/restaurant in Cascais had I not been able to see Lafayette Avenue out the window. I had the lamb meatball sandwich, that came with salad and potatoes, from the lunch menu. It was washed down with a glass of Estrella Damm draft from Spain. The lamb sandwich was delicious. The potatoes were covered in a spicy cheese sauce and were very good. I'm not a big salad fan, but it tasted fine with their dressing. I love this place. Unfortunately, I live far away in Queens so it will be difficult to get my wife here for supper. But I'll have to try.

This was the first place we stopped to eat lunch while visiting the NYC area. Fantastic is the word that best describes our meal. Quaint restaurant with a welcoming staff and outstanding food. Suggest seeking this place out and we suggest the lamb hash……

This place is wonderful. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is quaint and relaxing in beautiful Brooklyn. Highly recommended brunch!

Great Bloody Mary drinks and menu. We had Green eggs and lamb, frittata (which was outstanding), polenta and eggs.

Gorgeous, sexy little neighborhood resto in Ft. Greene that made me feel like I was whisked away to Spain. The food here is to die for and is priced just right. Be sure to try the fried Brussels sprouts appetizer, the chicken paella, and the orrechiete pasta dish.

We found this restaurant wandering in Fort Greene near the Flea Market. We ate outside in a tiny table. We had quinoa taboule, vegetables with pitas, spicy lamb with vegetables and egg on top. Everything was delicious. Service was very kind and fast. I also had one creme catalana (standard quality) and two espressos. We spent 63 dollars plus tip.

I was there with 3 others on a Friday evening. They don't take reservations and we had a long wait. But the food was fantastic, with lots of vegetarian as well as meat dishes. Good cocktails too. Very lively happy scene. Nice wait staff.

I went with my daughter and son-in-law to this small, cozy, magnificent restaurant on Lafayette Avenue in Fort Green, Brooklyn. The service was impeccable, waiter(Jeff) so knowledgeable, and helpful in ordering. We had fried green olives and the Trio dip for starters. The olives were covered with a slight cracker meal ( I think ) and more like toasted than fried, served with cool and hot sauce. Two of us had the Paella Mariscos with squid ink rice, small mussels, shrimp, calamari in luscious but light sauce. We ate every bite. My daughter had the Paella Vegano which was equally sumptuous.

I’ve only been to Olea for diner once and that was close to their opening date. Since then Ive only gone for Brunch and this Lamb Hash is something to die for. Really recommend it. Delicious strips of lamb, with potatoes and green peas along with a fried egg on top. Excellent and very cozy place. A decouvrir.

For our stay in NY , we opted to rent an apt in Brooklyn as it was much better value than the hotels we looked at online in NY. I researched restaurants in Brooklyn for our stay as we felt that at night after a hard days exploring we would prefer local. We made a list and Olea was on it. Our first night we went there and boy were we glad. We hadn't booked so we were very lucky that on arrival we were told there were no tables left but could sit at the bar, being a family of four we were pleasantly surprised went they gave us the corner of the bar, so it was cosy and felt like a table as we could all talk, not being in a straight line. Hats off to the barman who was lovely and very helpful and made sure we enjoyed our first ever dinner in NY. The girls had pasta dishes and the barman advised on small portions, which was just as well as they were more than big enough for our 17 and 20 y.old We opted for tapas and had the Lamb Kefteddes, goats cheese, a mixed salad and one last dish that I sadly can not remember but not through it being forgettable , all four tapas were lovely and the glasses of Rose went perfectly with our choices. We were more than happy and the quantity was perfect. No need of desserts. This restaurant is top notch and a lovely start to our week. I would definitely recommend it and if we had more time would definitely have gone back for a second visit.

Olea features a varied and changing menu with outstanding quality food. Sunday brunch was wonderful.

Our last day in New York so why not have a catered breakfast. Three of us enthused over the Turkish, one had the baguette and the fruit bowls were tasty. Apart from the food, which was voted as delicious, the venue was quite eclectic and spacious. I think we should have come here earlier in our visit. Total cost for six people was was $76, which included the gratuity.

this is our go to place when we visit Brooklyn. We usually go for Brunch. It is well worth the wait to eat here. My favorite is the Green eggs and Lamb but a close second is the Parmesan Toast. The creativity in this dish is outstanding. I love the Tahini Butter with toast. The drinks are also wonderful. The hot cider on a Autumn morning hits the spot.

Olea is one of my favorite places to eat. It's such a great place to go for a couple or a group. Be it brunch, lunch or dinner--you cannot go wrong. I love it's coziness in the winter and energy in the summer with its awesome sidewalk seating. Be prepared to wait a bit for a table, but it's allll so very worth it.

Great tapas - love their fried chickpeas and potato bravas & they have a lot of other good choices, too- we love it because we are vegetarian and can find a lot too eat. Great atmosphere. One of my favorite Brooklyn spots.

We ate brunch and enjoyed each of the entrees. The highlight was their homemade yogurt with walnuts and cherries-smooth and delicious. The lamb hash (actually pulled lamb) was a robust portion with excellent seasoning. Not sure that I'd know it was lamb, if I wasn't told. The French and Spanish omelets were very good as were the eggs with lamb sausage. The downside of the meal was our waiter who spent at least 5-10 minutes (no exaggeration) talking to the patrons at the table next to us about random topics while we waited for him to look our way so we could get our check. I finally had to stand up and gently interrupt the conversation to get our check. Food was excellent and most likely, I would go back again. However, there are lots of fabulous restaurants in Brooklyn, so I won't rush back here.

This place has been around long enough now to be considered a part of the neighborhood. Great food, friendly staff and always busy. Reserve.

My son suggested this on our recent visit and we were not disappointed. They don't take reservations, but the hostess kept checking and updating us on the likely wait time. It wasn't long. We choose 5 or 6 dishes for four, along with two bottles of wine. It was cozy and friendly. In fact, I couldn't find my gloves when we left (they were tucked in my hat) and the folks at the next table turned on their phone flashlights and helped us look for them. An overall good vibe here, nice lighting, good food.

Our family had breakfast/brunch at the Olea while visiting in Brooklyn. This is a little bit out of the ordinary food which is what we prefer. The coffee was delicious. Very tasty Mimosa's and some other brunch cocktails. I don't know how to describe the food except to say it was unique and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was "cozy" and service was top notch and we will be sure to go back the next time we are in Brooklyn in the Ft. Green area. We looked at the dinner menu and it looked equally exotic and I bet would be as good as our brunch. This is a terrific little place. No doubt about it.

Had a delicious lunch at this cozy restaurant, by a table on the street. Had to wait a bit for a table, but it was worth the wait. I can`t remember what the dish was called, but it was something like an omelette with salad.

After a 16 month pandemic induced dining out hiatus,it was with great anticipation that we visited Olea on a delightful Saturday evening. Despite the absence of a reservation we left our name and phone number, and as we were promised, a text arrived in 40 minutes and we returned after a delightful stroll in beautiful Clinton Hill. The service was friendly and professional, the menu ample, and the dishes were well prepared. Fairly priced all in all. The outdoor seating was perfect. Looking forward to returning soon.

We were in NYC with our 4 kids (17-30) and this provided a great setting for us to visit and chat. Olea has an extensive and interesting brunch menu, with choices for everyone. Our group had multiple dietary requirements (vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free) and the there was plenty for everyone. The service was fabulous and friendly with great recommendations. The layout is very conducive for visiting and talking. There is music playing, but just at a mellow level in the background.

I have been here for dinner a couple of times now - consistently great food & service. The menu options are varied, and all are flavorful and expertly prepared. Both times I went with a small group and we got a variety of options to share, which is a great way to taste lots of their menu items. A little bit loud acoustics when it's full, though not a deal breaker by any means. The fried olives with yogurt sauce and lamp meatballs were two of my favorites. Charming, cozy, and delicious!

A friend of a friend recommended this place to me as being a great restaurant near where I lived. I was happily surprised to find that this place was awesome! You walk in and the decor is cute and interesting - paper star lights, multi-colored cushions along the bench seating, a few tables set up outdoors in good weather. It felt very cozy right away. The first time I went I had the pita and hummus, skordalia, and one of the other dips as an appetizer. All DELICIOUS, and not badly priced. For the main course I had the farro pasta, which I thought could taste strange, but it was awesome. I've been back to this restaurant a bunch of times since then, brought coworkers, friends, family, etc. Everyone loved it. And they even have interesting cocktails. I'm a big fan of this place and highly recommend it!

This is a restaurant known for its brunch, which they serve all day, regardless of what part of the week. The food is ample and extremely delectable. I ended up taking one of the empanadas and half of the torta home and they reheated quite well. I ate the chocolate cake as it probably would not have done as well traveled well. I also had a few tasty mocktails. I went early for lunch time and am glad I did. As the restaurant busied up, my server had a harder time getting around to the table, but otherwise the service was kind and straightforward. I would go back again.

Be prepared, this restaurant does not take reservations. Our party of 3 arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday night and were told there was an hour wait. Unfamiliar with the area we decided to wait. Thankfully we were seated after 30 minutes. Apparently there are more tables for 4 than for 3 and they don’t want to let that extra seat go empty. Falafel crusted artichokes and vegan broccoli/cauliflower gratin were both excellent appetizers. Steak frites and pasta/sausage dish were enjoyed by the meat eaters. I was very happy with the vegan paella, nice smokey flavor! The vegan chocolate tort was a tasty way to finish our meal. Five stars for food, 4 stars for lack of reservations.

We went as a group of 6 for dinner on a Thursday evening. The place was full and after a 15 minute wait we were seated. We ordered tapas-style or family-style and shared the dishes since we couldn't decide between all the appealing menu items. We ended up ordering patatas bravas, brussel sprouts, artichoke hearts, beef meatballs, halloumi, vegetable gratin, paella mariscos and orecchiette. Everything was delicious and we can highly recommend this restaurant for the quality and tasty dishes. Service was excellent and wait staff was very attentive.

We stopped at this wonderful establishment for brunch - and very glad we did! Relaxed and earthy vibe (lots of live plants) and quick sincerely kind service! I had the Green Eggs & Lamb (very tasty and a large satisfying meal at a reasonable price, $12), my wife had French Toast (very sweet & rich), and my daughter had the Turkish Breakfast (she loved it!). We loved our meal and experience here; my daughter has visited here many times and highly recommends this eatery and full bar for a visit anytime of day. I eagerly look forward to a return visit!

We stopped in for a late breakfast, noon, and had a terrific meal. Service was perfect, atmosphere fun and eclectic, a perfect neighborhood bistro. We had the frittata and the eggs poached “in purgatory” (their description), both of which we devoured with pleasure! I could go on and on, just go here and enjoy yourself with good food. Highly recommended.

Wanna eat in a cozy restaurant in brooklyn? This the place! Situated in a chill place, offers good and delicious food and fantastic service. Recommended!

After traveling an hour and quarter by subway from the upper east side, then walking about 20 minutes to arrive at Olea at 5:30 pm for a pre-Polonsky Theater dinner, like the other reviewer, I was informed that I could not be seated until my husband arrived! I was tired, in need of a glass of wine and at 74 years old, I sort of insisted on sitting at a back booth, pretty much over the objections of the hostess and greeter who was rather unfriendly. We only had little over an hour for dinner, so since my husband’s subway was delayed, I was able to order our dinners which arrived right after he did. I did feel a bit rude myself, and can understand a restaurant not wanting someone to dwell for hours at a needed table, but the incident made me feel unwelcome. That said, our waiter was attentive and gave excellent service and the food is delicious. Olea offers happy hour and was quite busy, so I guess hospitality is not a big priority. I would very much like this to be our pre-concert restaurant for BAM and Polonsky events, but we will see how things go. The first time we dined there, it was pouring rain and it was my husband who arrived first. He had no problem being seated alone and was happily drinking wine when I arrived. Last night, the special avocado and pomegranate salad and the onion soup were delicious as was my husband’s Arctic char. The menu is full of interesting sounding dishes to try and lots of good wine.

I loved this place! A friend took us on our last day in NYC and I loved the green scrambled eggs with lamb. Fantastic and buzzing atmosphere. I will definitely go back on my next trip to NY!

My daughter and I went back to eat here several times on our recent stay in Brooklyn. The food was great whether it was brunch or tapas. Good sized meals without being too big. Even when the restaurant looked full we didn't have to wait too long for our food. Staff were friendly and helpful when asked to describe dishes. Definitely recommend eating here.

My daughter had tried several times to dine at Olea without success. Third time and on a Sunday for dinner was the charm. Wish they accepted reservations, but glad that we got to experience this terrific neighborhood gem. Fort Greene has many very good restaurants, but this is now our family favorite. Cocktails and wine offerings were plentiful, interesting, an the ones we tried were perfect. Our server, Jack, was excellent and anticipated our needs before we even knew we were in need! We all shared some excellent appetizers and then ordered our own entrees. The fish paella I had was so yummy and the sauce so delicious I had to have some bread (not in my diet) to soak up the leftover sauce and beans. Speaking of the bread, it was a slight negative as it was served room temperature. Warming it up a bit would have made all the difference. We did not try any of their desserts as we were so full, but we will be back to try the Mediterranean Sundae!!

Location and size are the best of this restaurant that claims to serve Mediterranean cuisine. Not for my standards. The décor doesn't provide comfort and the service is average at best. Food (presentation, preparation and taste) has nothing of memorable. Prices are OK for what you get, considering the overall quality.

One of the best chicken dishes I have ever had. Great for small plates and tapas as well. Go early and take advantage of happy hour for wine and drink specials. Great location in Fort Greene. One of the most diverse and happy neighborhoods in Brooklyn.

Neighbour joint in Brooklyn serving massive portions! Great atmosphere and good food, we had the greek style paella which could have served a family of four.

Charming little restaurant with pleasant outdoor seating and wonderful food, particularly the appetizers. It's great for brunch or lunch, with a more interesting menu than most places, and perfect for diners who like to share. Kale salad, falafal-crusted artichokes, dips and warm pita, fresh sardines -- perfection.

great atmosphere. great food and wine.

We went to Olea for my birthday dinner, as we anted a quick (read: not drawn out with lots of formality) meal in a place with a lively atmosphere. We have two small children at home, so we just ran out for about 90 minutes. When we arrived, it was lively and we opted to sit at the bar for faster service. The sangria - both red & white - were yummy, as were all the foods we tried. I love the fried chick peas and a salmon special they had. Between the two of us, I think we ordered 6 tapas and it was a good amount, bordering on too much. We left stuffed & happy.

We live in the West Village, and our son recently moved to Brooklyn. This was our family’s first time at Olea and we loved it! The food was delicious, portions were generous, the menu eclectic--- something for everyone. The small plates are wonderful. We had the corn salad (excellent), the Greek chicken platter (our son loved it), the creamy polenta (yum!) , the falafel crusted artichokes hearts (highly recommended), the brisket in pomegranate reduction special and homemade sangria (really good). For dessert we had a surprising delicious vegan cheese cake with fresh raspberry sauce plus dulce de leche ice cream which we happily scooped into our espressos. We loved the vibe of this place and would definitely return.

I love this place so much. I have never had a bad meal here. It is tucked away from the hustle and tourists and filled with awesome Tapas and amazing BRUNCH with the only bloody mary i like in all of NYC.

This is an adorable neighborhood restaurant in Clinton Hill. We came before a concert at BAM. We started with a specialty martini, Buda - very tasty! My husband and I shared a Greek salad, which was a little spicy. We shared paella with fish, with black rice and very delicious. We shared a Sundae for dessert dessert. Our friends enjoyed arctic char. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for something near Brooklyn Academy of music on in the Clinton Hill area.

Wonderful meal, great service, but no reservations and a bit tightly packed in this charming little place about 8 blocks from BAM in a lovely Brooklyn neighborhood. Based on the crowds on a recent Friday night, it is certainly not undiscovered by the community, but it might be a very pleasant surprise for those venturing into the area from other points.

Very good tapas joint. Good sangrias, good lamb meat balls appetizer and great Farrah vegetable pesto. I was very pleasantly surprised and highly recommend ‘this restaurant.
Excellent
Came fro brunch on sunday and it was amazing, really busy and a great atmosphere in this place, the service is very attentive and yet still friendly. Really good spot.
