Thank you, Olive Garden for supporting our Vet's

By Isunwin |

Here's what I love about the Olive Garden; they honor our Vets. My husband and I eat at the Olive Garden regualarly because we like to support restaurants who give to their patrons, and community. Not only does the Olive Garden have good food, that is reasonably priced, but they give free meals to Vet's every year. I'm happy to spend my money at this establishment.

Big servings

By Marielle G |

Went here for a family dinner and the staff were welcoming and cheerful. Salad and breadsticks servings were huge - we were a group of six and we werent able to finish them and we were able to take the rest home. My mom and I had to share the scampi pasta which was so tasty. We also liked the artichoke dip and their drinks. For the price of each meal I’d say it’s worth it. It’s my second time in Olive Garden as they dont have this in my country and both visits have been great. Won’t hesitate to go back.

Olive Garden

Olive Garden has been a favorite of our family for many years. The food and service are both good. We eat here often and always seem to enjoy it. My personal favorites are the pasta dishes, which are excellent. My grandchildren are always ready to eat there.

Big portions & affordable place

By Rachel |

Good place to eat and share with family and friends. The food is never dissapointing and BIG portions... Italian food at the very American style!!!

Friendly service, great food!

By Caroline L |

Olive Garden seems to always be a great choice for dinner. There’s plenty of parking at this location and if you get there before 6:30, you’ll likely be seated right away. This was our experience on a Friday night but after 7, expect lots of people waiting. My husband and I ordered a pitcher of their berry sangria and it was a perfect compliment to sharing an appetizer sampler and a tour of Italy (highly recommended). The salad and breadsticks were great as always and our food was delicious. You simply cannot go wrong here with the friendly, family like staff. We’ll be back next time we are craving Italian.

one of our favorite places to eat

By MAJDR J |

Olive garden has always been one of our favorite places to eat. We both chose to have the toscana soup, salad and breadsticks. We like this because we can fill ourselves up for a reasonable price and not over gorge ourselves like at a buffet. Service was excellent

Bad day for a Family Dinner for Nine

By Beachredondo |

Seems as if this Olive Garden had a wedding at the same time as we choose to go and it affected us..Here is how. There was no minestrone soup we had to wait for it to be made again. The first bowl of Chicken & Gnocchi soup had no chicken or Gnocchi in it since it was the bottom of the pot. AND no bread sticks for 10 minutes which was more like 15 or 20 minutes. The salad we received was room temperature at best if not partly warm from a warm plate. We had various pasta dishes and they were consumed. What I had left over I did not wish to take home (Not that good) so another family member took it home. Spaghetti and meatballs was left as they did not think it was worth eating again.. my thoughts. The server tried her best to work around the restaurants short comings but it didn't work for me.

Moderately priced and friendly staff

By KatBGranadaHills |

They were very accommodating to split our entree and we added an extra limitless soup. We had braised beef on gnocchi. Sauce was a bit sweet for me but the beef was really tender and tasty. Zuppa Toscana is my favorite, but the minestrone fell flat. My husband enjoyed the other soup options. The bonus here is the wait staff. Very efficient and very friendly! Joe, thank you for a lovely evening!

Ask for the "What are you 'out of tonight' list before staying"

Darden's, oh Darden's, can you please give up some corporate control and let your manager's shop when they are out of supplies???? Northridge, CA was out of coffee and tea, and they were out from Saturday and told they would have to wait til Weds for the delivery. Target was right across the street! Burbank was out of PEPPER! Pepper????Are you kidding me? How does a restaurant run out of fresh ground pepper for its meals - when it is one reason people go to Olive Garden? Olive Garden, between being out of supplies and bad attitudes of workers, poor slow service, it acts like it is in Chapter 11 or Bankruptcy... Three visits, two locations over a three month period. Yes, the manager offered a gift card for the problems, and the other manager offered free dessert. Red Lobster suggested 'go to Olive Garden, have the problems, get the gift card, then spend the gift card at Red Lobster. Red Lobster is part of the Darden chain as well - but usually without the problems.

A relaxing time in the garden.

Actually, a three plus rating. Started with the fried calamari, tasty and it was served with a wonderful quasi tartar sauce full of flavor. I went for their new dish, smoked mozzarella with pasta and shrimp. I would use a different pasta, the rigatoni just is too ungamely for this dish. Decent flavor though. Always a good salad although their garlic sticks seem less garlicky - short on flavor. Portion size more than acceptable. Unfortunately, not enough room for what looked like a great dessert, a layered brownie and filling concoction, ouch! SURPRISINGLY short wait to be seated, a bonus. Despite the very busy restaurant it was not very noisy, bonus two. Server was very nice and a job well done. Was not rushed and overall a pleasant evening.

Every Italian comedian makes fun of this chain

By Fred G |

If you want a decent meal for a reasonable (but not cheap) price in an Italian themed restaurant, then go for it. But if you are hunkering for real Italian fare, you are most likely going to be very disappointed. Call it what you will, but do not call it Italian. The salad is just chunks of lettuce. The bread sticks are just tasteless white bread with oil & garlic. The pasta is lackluster. And do not even get me started on what they call chicken parm. Think of the place like an Italian themed Coco's Family diner. No wonder every Italian celebrity picks this chain as the butt of their jokes. Service is okay. Atmosphere is good. Food is good, but average.

Decent meal at a decent price

By Sarah T |

I often try and get a visit into the Olive Garden when I am in the states as I find the food decent and the price good... Esp,for a chain restaurant. This time was good too. Had to wait 15 mins for a table but then food great, service great... Always a good choice.

Great family restaurant: delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, outstanding service..

By KYKJIA |

I love this place as a family restaurant . The food was super good, and their portions are huge :). Also a good thing is that they have free unlimited salad and bread sticks, so if you are very hungry you can kill your appetite, while they are preparing your order. I love this place also because of the service, they are very hospitable. Would definitely recommend it!

Good food but probably not worth a one hour wait

By Chuck G |

I was part of a party of 8 and arrived at 10 to 15 minutes before 5. It took an hour to be seated . The service was very good ( Gloria was our server) . I ordered Asiago Tortelloni Alfredo with Grilled Chicken and it was delicious! It comes down to is the food at Olive Garden good enough to wait an hour for ? I don’t think so . We tried to make a reservation and they would not make one . We were celebrating a birthday.

It's OK. Just don't call...

It's OK. Just don't call it Italian. Please.

olive garden revisited

By redrider1 |

Olive garden may not be too high on many peoples list , but they do have one hidden gem on the lunch menue that is otstanding and of real value. Itis their soup and salad for something less then eight dollars and well worth it., you get all ofthe salad and soup that you desire. Both soup and salad are delicious , They have a COICE OF THREE SOUPS i ALWAYS order the pasta pazola{ did I spell it right,no}, which is really amazing. I I highly recomend this meal, a satisfying bargain.

Great Lunch Experience

By Susan R |

We decided to come here for lunch after deciding that a nearby deli was extremely expensive at $13.25 for a 1/2 of sandwich and a cup of soup. Really!!?? The front desk greeted us promptly and we were seated immediately. We got one our lunch favorites -salad, soup and those wonderful garlic sticks. All you can eat for $7.95 and your selection of any soup on the menu. If you want to try different soup on your 2nd refill, it is not a problem! We got peach ice tea and our waitress continually provided us with refills! She even packaged one for the road. She was real attentive throughout our meal and made sure that we got our items brought out in the order that we wanted to eat them; not the way the kitchen wanted to serve them. She was also very personable and was aware that we were on our lunch hour so she made sure that we got served promptly. Of all the Olive Gardens I have been to, this was the best! Ask for Frieda and you will have a wonderful time. The only drawback was that we sat on the otherside of the bar and it was hard to carry on a converesation due to the noise level. If you need a more quiet atmosphere, just ask for a seat outside of the bar area and you shouldn't have a problem.

Average food, bit bland. Nothing special. Staff are friendly. Good service. Clean. Prices are reasonable and serving size is big.

Very nice lunch

By Sid k |

Olive Garden sent me an online coupon so I decided to use it the other day for lunch. I ordered chicken Parmesan. My meal started with the salad & breadsticks...I love their salad-the dressing is simply amazing along with their addictive breadsticks! Service was pleasant and my food came out promptly.

This place is great if you are in the mood for Italian food--The staff are very friendly and the food is good too--all the Pastas are made fresh too--

GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE BUT VERY LOUD

By Steven C |

My wife and I always like the Olive Garden restaurants and we go to this location from time-to-time when we are visiting family in the area. (It is in Northridge, an inner city of Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley.) The food and service were very good however, the accoustics are extremely poor at this location making it impossible to carry on a conversation. If good food and service is all that matters, this is a good place to eat. However, if you want to visit, converse, or carry on business, this is not the place for you.

amazing Italian restaurant!

By Dor S |

10" pizzas were a little cheese-overloaded, but very tasty. Ravioli, Salmon fillet and meat&steak como were all amazing. Salad was really good, Home bread sticks were very tasty, as well as fresh and crispy! With great tastes come big prices, $100 bill for a 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 kids dinner.

Not my favorite

By Pat B |

Some people like the OG but not me. I like everything about the places except the food. It's always clean, the servers are prompt and courteous and the prices are fair. But I don't like their salad dressing and the last time I was there the bread crust was so hard it cut the inside of my mouth. I've been there 4 times and although I ordered a different entree, Iv'e never found one I liked.

OK restaurant.

By Luvsailing |

We went there for a birthday dinner and enjoyed a variety of dishes. Food OK, prices in the medium range. Endless salad and great garlic rolls.

Great service and good food.

By Marjean P |

We had a rather long wait to get in but experienced our first earthquake waiting for a table. I guess you could say it made the time go by quicker with all the chatter. We used the 2 for $25 for all three of us and the food was delicious. Server was very nice and attentive.

I love their soup and salads. They have a mushroom ravioli that is good also.

Long Wait

By gigir |

We had a long wait even though it was a wednesday night. The service was really good a food was good but I still think way over priced.

Packed of flavor and very satisfying

By Jonna C |

It was a very pleasant food venture. Hubby and I went here for lunch, and at first glance on their menu I am already impress. We eat healthy at home and so this place is like home for us. We order the lunch combo, when they serve it got surprised coz the bowl of soup is like a kid size but the salad is huge. So I told my hubby, let see the quality and not look at the quantity. For our surprise, yes it small portion (lunch combo) but yet, very filling and satisfying.

Olive Garden Manhattan Beach

We had a Great dinner with great service! Wait staff was not the most attentive, but otherwise a good experience.

Lotsa pasta!

By robertag458 |

I think I only went to the Olive garden once or twice. The food was good but I seem to remember that it was a bit noisy so that it's difficult if you want to carry on a conversation. Nice, typical italian food.

Restaurant Needs a Remodel

By MamaBear63 |

I recently had dinner at the Olive Garden in Northridge. They took us right away and seated is in a corner table by the exit door. The moment my daughter and I approached the table the smell of musty mildew filled our section. I thought it was the table but soon realized it was the carpet. A good sign to look for are tiny ants. These are water ants when they are in areas of moisture or mildew. We saw this on the molding by the table. The food was excellent as we had the Fetticine with shrimp. What was puzzling was the salad was brought out but I asked them that I would like to take the salad to go. When they originally brought the salad to the table it had slices of Genoa in it. When I got home there was not one piece of Genoa! What was that about? The waitress Vicki was terrific and helpful. Overall food is great but this place could really use new carpet or painted cement floors!

Nice Italian Food

By h4ppyexplorers |

This was the first restaurant we went to for dinner in the US and it was worth every penny. Lovely Italian food, nice ambience and reasonably priced. Two main dishes were more than enough with free bread on the table for 2 of us. Their portions are really good compared to the portions served in England.. :)

Nice food, slow service

By Julia L |

Our family of five came on a Sunday evening. We had to wait for about 25 min to be seated. Once inside, we asked for nutrition facts sheet that the restaurant is required to have available, and the waiter couldn't find them. Eventually the manager came, was very nice and printed the facts from the restaurant website. But by then we were almost done with dinner, and it was too late. Also, the waitress took forever to bring us soup and salad refills, although she was really nice and tried to be helpful. Overall, a good experience, but I would give it 3.5 to 4 stars.

Always delicious!

By TravelRobs |

If you're in the mood for Italian food, or even just breadsticks, this place is excellent! I love the relaxed atmosphere and trying out new items from the menu each time I visit.

not very italian, but cheap

about what you might expect from an all the stuff you can eat place. dont know if it comes out of a jar, but it could. if you like italian sounding food, it is ok, but not if you like italian tasting food.

They Don't Have One on Maui

By Kenneth L |

My wife's friend was visiting from Maui where they don't have an Olive Garden and she misses them. It was a quiet day and we were seated quickly. The building is nice, but not overly decorated. On a busy day, there can be a long wait and parking runs out. We started with the unlimited salad. I often would be happy to stop with the salad which is always good. I ordere3d a simple pasta dish which I enjoyed, my wife enjoyed her Chicken Marsala, and her find settled for soup and salad. Overall we all enjoyed it and will probably return.

My Wife's Favorite

By Marcos C |

Really a nice place to go. When we are in the US we never miss a visit to an Olive Garden. Food is great, prices are normal and the service is simply MAGNIFICENT. This past trip we went to the restaurant in 6874 Katella Ave Cypress CA.

always good

We also meet up with our family at Olive garden. They have the best salad and bread sticks. Their soups are also very good

upgrading to more diet friendly

By Calizen |

Was slam-dunk carbs and some protein, now with more diet friendly choices. Soup and unlimited salad bowl is always a favorite.

Meh

By Gail G |

Let me start this off with a confession: while I know Olive Garden has been around for a great many years, I’ve never had the slightest urge to go there. I came close once back in 1989, when I was pregnant and a coworker started to reel me by emoting over the breadsticks (I am a breadoholic) but the urge passed, life happened and the breadsticks were forgotten. More recently, I’ve caught the ads for Olive Garden on TV—and while I’m sure their aim is to tempt us visually, for me the ads have been a dismal failure. It all seems to be heavy dishes loaded with huge portions of pasta with cream-laden sauces. My arteries harden just watching the ads. The last time I remember eating anything remotely that goopy was on vacation in 2001. I can handle goopy as an appetizer; but as an entrée, no thank you. With zero interest in the place to begin with, I found myself there for a small celebration several months ago. The birthday girl had chosen the restaurant and far be it for me to dictate where a person wishes to celebrate. Even at the ridiculously early hour we arrived (4 pm on a Saturday afternoon) the place was busy. Although our wait was only the time it took to set up a table, I overheard the hostess telling others there’d be a ten minute wait. Now, ten minutes in the world of restaurants is pretty minor stuff, but keep in mind the hour. So while we waited, I tried to soak up the atmosphere—or rather I would have had there been any atmosphere for the soaking. We’re talking complete lack of style here: a room with tables. And the smell was unlike anything I remotely wanted to consider eating. It was with great trepidation that I entered the dining area, fervently hoping that whatever was responsible for that aroma didn’t end up on my plate. Not long after being seated, our waiter came by asking if we wished complimentary tastes of wine. Being a great fan of wine, I acquiesced and we were given a couple of sips of moscato, which is an extremely sweet white wine. When asked for my feedback I said the wine was tasty, but that it was so sweet I felt it was a dessert wine. I gather the waiter wasn’t listening because he then asked if we wanted to order a bottle to enjoy with our meal. I guess he assumed we were all having tiramisu. At the time of our visit, the restaurant was featuring a special which came with a choice of appetizer. Chicken meatballs, fried mozzarella and (inexplicably) hummus were placed before our dining companions along with anemic-looking fried calamari and a couple of dipping sauces. These folks are big on fried appetizers. Mercifully, the salad was fresh and crisp and we could have as much of that as we wished, though they seemed to be rationing tomatoes. When the long-awaited and much touted breadsticks finally arrived, I was disappointed. Maybe I was expecting too much. Opting to avoid anything which might be responsible for the aroma I’d noticed when entering the restaurant, I avoided pasta dishes and opted for the garlic rosemary chicken. Chicken was nicely cooked, the sauce was pleasant and the portion was more than generous. My only complaint was that there was little presence of rosemary other than a sprig on my plate. My husband reported that his eggplant parmigiana was pleasant. They’d gone light on sauce (he was likewise concerned about that aroma) and there was just enough without being too much. Across the table were fettuccini alfredo with shrimp, the familiar goopy piles of pasta I’d seen on TV. My family seemed happy with their meals and had enough to take home for another day. Although I love shrimp, I declined the offer to taste. When we left the restaurant around six, people were waiting everywhere—crowds in the foyer, crowds outside. What was it, I couldn’t help wondering, which drew such crowds? Though better than I’d expected, the food was a far cry from terrific, atmosphere was lacking, service adequate, prices basically average. They have a big parking lot and it’s wheelchair accessible, but I really don’t think it’s parking that draws people to this restaurant. And then, there’s that smell. That smell is enough to keep me away.

Great salads

By Melissa V |

I´m not a salad fan, but you must try their salads! They are awesome. Specially the dressing. And then, you can have meat or chicken.

Loved it!

By johnhanna62 |

I am a big fan of Italian food. This restaurant offers you plate with one of the 2 choices: unlimited soup or unlimited salad.. I would definitely recommend you for the unlimited salad. Soups are very nice too but Salads' dressing was amazing. The pasta is delicious and tasty. Screens on tables so you can pay with it without waiting for the waiter, also you can order most of the food selection from it. definitely go for it

a great italian flavor

By javiervision |

Great meal, if you are hurry ..this is not the place (they have a high demand in top hours) ... BUT, always you can get an option in the BAR seats ... the people here is very friendly. the soup, drinks, pasta was great. 100% recomendable

An appealing restaurant!

By Chuang004 |

We enjoyed Seafood Alfredo ($21) and Salmon Piccata ($21). Loved the surprisingly good Chicken & Gnocchi soup (I have two orders). Love the “unlimited” supply of bread.

Great service!

By ILoveFoodComa |

The Service: My server is Amir. Very professional and knowledgeable about the menu. He gives great recommendation on the menu. Super attentive! All the staffs are working as a team. The dirty plates are taken away the minute I finish my last bite. I don't need to "ask" for service, they "offer"me the service. Fantastic customer service!! The Food: Shrimp Scampi Fritta - Lightly breaded and fried shrimp, tossed with a garlic and white wine butter sauce. Good portion for appetizer, perfect for sharing. Love the lemony taste, totally open up the appetite! Chicken & Gnocchi soup - A creamy soup made with roasted chicken, traditional Italian dumplings and spinach. 5 Stars for this soup. Creamy but not too salty. The gnocchi are so soft and chewy. Wish there are more in the soup. Chicken Parmigiana - Parmesan breaded chicken breasts, fried and topped with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. Served with spaghetti. The spaghetti is so authentic. Cooked to perfection. The marinara sauce is not too sweet. Chicken is super tender, love the crunchy crust outside the chicken. Good portion size. Strawberry & White Chocolate Dolcini -Piccoli Dolci, "Little dessert treats", layered with cake, mousse, pastry creams and strawberries. Love the cute size, $3.29 only!! Perfect dessert size to end the meal.
