I drove 26 miles and it was worth the drive for the green bean salad alone, I'd never had anything like it. Cooked and mixed with tomato paste it was tender, flavorful and healthy. Loved my lamb Kofte with grilled vegetables as well, My dinner partner had the chicken shish kebab and said it was thoroughly cooked and still moist. She liked the Greek salad and the green pea risotto too. Service very patient and polite.

We came here on a recommendation from a traveler on the no 5 bus. Cannot ask for a better meal. Environment is somewhat lacking charm but you are here for the food. Had the moussaka and it was worth the trip. Tasted my wife’s lamb kabobs and they were delicious. Take a break and come down the hill for this fine gem.

Visited for invigorating dinner before attending a Taproot Theater performance within easy walking distance. Came early. Found Happy Hour offerings presented some interesting tastes. Drink options limited but acceptable. Appetizers tasty but left us wanting more even at Happy Hour. Separate Lunch and Dinner menus, mostly of different size portions. Menu has sections for Italian and Greek/Turkish dishes. The only disappointment was in portion size, even for dinner. Good service. Our waitress was even exuberant at times. Worth a return visit, even with friends next time. Actually warrants 3.5 stars.

The food is quite bland for middle eastern food, but they do have lots of gluten-free options. The server was not very attentive on a quiet Sunday afternoon; we had to wait ages for our food and check.

On my first visit and my friend's second, I was very pleased with everything. I needed a little extra help as I was using crutches, and I was treated very sweetly and promptly by the servers, who continued to do a nice job throughout the meal and afterward. (They didn't rush us or ignore us after we got the bill.) Both my appetizer and my friend's turned out to be enough for a meal: a bargain at $7 for me! My nicely-cooked, stuffed Portobello mushroom had a perfectly melted cheese topping and a mini side salad. Everything was fresh and well-dressed. Our baklava was not overly sweet. The coffee service was impressive: I got my own freshly brewed pot, a cup, real creamer in a cute mini pitcher, and a sugar bowl with its own mini spoon, all on a silver tray. The attention to presentation and detail was delightful. We are already planning to go back and enjoy much more of the tempting menu.

Went to this place for the second time. Our first visit was forgettable (food not great, staff unorganized) but it was their first weekend being open, so we gave them another shot. But we shouldn't have! It was a Saturday night and granted, we didn't have reservations, but even though they were busy, they found us a table within a few minutes~ Beside the kitchen, so we could see everything that was going on. It took 10 minutes for somebody (who was not our waiter) to ask if we wanted something to drink. We asked for sodas and he replied "OK; I'll grab them when I have time." REALLY????? Another 15 minutes for a different person to take our order, and 45 minutes of watching other people's food go out S..L..O..W..L..Y. And some food sat on the counter for minutes before it was picked up.... I saw full plates returned; I'm sure because they were served cold by the time it finally got to someone's table. And after all this time, we still had not been served water or our sodas. We were seeing a play at the Taproot, and so after waiting for over an hour, we gave up and grabbed a roll at a coffee shop so our grumbling tummies wouldn't disturb others at the play. NEVER AGAIN. I hate to even give them one star...I wish there was a zero star option.

we generally eat here before going over to Taproot Theater, so we're evidently fans. Dropped in on a warm summer night when the front of the restaurant was open to the street. Don't do this .... the 🚌's roar, bells and exhaust destroyed a potentially pleasant evening. Visit O&G in the winter.

Our party of 8 had a very fun dinner here. I don't know my Turkish food that well, and so we took our chances. The vegetarian items were great. My doner dish was good, but i (might be ignorant) was expecting it all in one piece. A big plus, they do have a fantastic Turkish beer called Efes. (a great lager)

Highly recommend the baked feta and olives along with the lamb kebabs Service was spotty but attentive. Not sure what it would be like if the place was full as they only had four tables Having said that the food is very good and I would go back

What a great find! Really good wines for happy hour, and the food was amazing! We had the Turkish Grill for two and it was super delish! The service was amazingly good! Try it out, you won't be sorry!

I visit The Olive and Grape on a weekly basis and I never get tired of it. The quality of the food is superb, and although not cheap, is worth every penny. So many of the dishes have a unique twist, whether from Paola's home city of Izmir, or from her mother and grandmother's recipes, that even if you think you know what dolmades, baklava, or a Greek salad is about, you should try hers. This is a neighbourhood gem.

We popped over after watching a play at the Taproots theatre. It was happy hour on Saturday afternoon. Excellent food and service. No Efes, but the Mythos was just about as good. :) Just a first rate experience all the way around.

It was over the long Thanksgiving and, on Saturday, a large group of family and friends decided to meet for a late brunch. Since it was an easy walk from our neighborhood we gathered and were quickly seated at a long table by a very friendly hostess/server who brought hot beverages (it was cold outside) of Turkish coffee and tea, hot cocoa and a couple of mimosas. All were excellent and I had forgotten how nice Turkish tea tastes… reminiscent of our stay in Istanbul a few years ago. The menu offers tasty egg, omelette and other regional dishes that I quickly forgot how to pronounce. What made the toast so good was their delicious preserves generously served with our late breakfasts. Overall, a very good dining experience… warm, friendly and tasty priced about right.

Theres alot cacaruches.I saw in on my table.paola the owner knows about it.place is dirty.....service was bad.the woman serving tablets I heard yelling at nuzzer.she is mean..they need to be clean and organize.

Review in 30 seconds: Ambiance & Atmosphere: Warm, inviting and cozy. First - Dessert: MUST GET THE BAKLAVA! Best I've ever had. Hands down. Food: Absolutely delicious. I haven't had a bad dish here (visited 20+ times). The Kebabs are my regular "go-to" dish as the meat is always cooked perfectly and super moist. Doesn't matter if I go with the chicken, steak or lamb, they are all delicious. Green pea risotto is a MUST as well as the Greek Salad. PS. You will have leftovers if you order an appetizer or have a small stomach. Service: Service is always warm & inviting. The owners are always excellent, know the menu and always know what to offer for drink pairing. Some of the other waitstaff do struggle with taking orders, knowing the dishes inside & out, but overall, I've always had a good experience.

The food was good. I think for what they charge, it isn't worth it. I liked what we got, but due to the expense, I don't think I will return.

We discovered this neighborhood restaurant by accident. Previous one had been a bit pretentious one at the same spot (with similar name) so we had not gone. The new owner (now not so new anymore) is Italian who grew up in Turkey. They have half turkish and half italian menu. As I'm a big fan of Turkish food, I've mostly had Turkish section. Everything is great...but especially manti (turkish dumplings). The quality of food is great, but without any pretention. The owner is very friendly.

We went here as part of Seattle Restaurant Week in which more than 165 restaurants offered a 3-course dinner for $32 and some also added a 3-course lunch for $18. As we wanted lunch, we went to The Olive and Grape, one of the few participants near where we are staying that included lunch as part of the promotion. It offers Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, which my husband and I truly enjoy. A server rushed to meet us at the door, because my husband appeared with a walker, which he graduated to recently from a wheelchair after suffering a broken leg and a broken arm in a bicycle accident. The young woman ensured we were seated at a nearby table and treated us like royalty throughout our stay. She was upbeat, friendly, helpful and attentive. We could not have asked for more. The three-course menu had more choices than we've seen throughout the years at other places during this special week. There were six options under appetizers, another six under entrees and four dessert possibilities. All came from the regular menu. After much deliberation, I chose a green bean salad; a grilled chicken gyro that came with garlic fries, which I asked to be left off the plate; and a dessert of Tel Kadayif. My husband selected soup of the day (Turkish red lentil); musakka, made from a family recipe; and Tel Kadayif. What a treat! The appetizers and entrees arrived in generous portions and were all delicious, with the homemade lentil soup the best we've ever had. It was thick, perfectly spiced and bursting with flavor. The musakka, though extremely tasty, was not made in the traditional manner and seemed more like a stew. The dessert consisted of shredded filo dough with syrup, topped with walnuts and cinnamon. Alas, it was far too sweet and I could eat no more than a bite. The long, somewhat narrow restaurant looks out on Greenwood Avenue near 85th Street. Olive and Grape has a rustic ambiance with an open kitchen, wooden tables and chairs, a brick wall, and a Mediterranean mural that includes Greek windmills. When we went around noon, diners sat at four other tables and talked quietly. The frosting on the cake: There is free 2-hour parking on Greenwood Avenue and I easily found a space.

My friend and I finished yarn shopping at Fiber Gallery and came here to eat dinner. Quaint place that made for attentiveness. At first glance at menu, my eye caught octopus leg. I gave it a try and recommend it. We saved room for desert and enjoyed the selections of sorbets to choose from.

A great combo of Greek and Turkish delights. The menu is varied and complex, with many dishes and tastes. They offer vegetarian choices as well. The kabobs are wonderful, and sure and try the desserts. Service is attentive and the waiter knows his dishes well.

Lovely atmosphere delicious food excellent service. Would definitely come here again. Split the lunch special and the arugula salad. All good. Great mojito!

We choose this restaurant based on the review, it was fine, the place are clean and OK. we did not like the way the waitress received us, but overall, it was ok.

I recommend reservations as there is no convenient place to wait. We went without reservations and went to a sports bar a few doors down and they called us in about twenty minutes when they had a table. Everything was satisfactory considering they were packed. Parking is behind the restaurant and you have to enter on the street one block east of Greenwood. The rib eye steak with portabello mushroom sauce and red potatoes was my entree after a Turkish Platter containing one dolmates, one lamb skewer, three triangle pieces of pita bread with tzakziki sauce and a warm crustini filled with I think goat cheese. The shrimp appetizer along with the Fruita de mare pasta was a little on the warm spice side but the seafood was excellent. Dessert was baklava and panna cotte both which were tasty. They have wine, beer and cocktails but we enjoyed the water which was refilled often.

This place serves very good authentic Mediterranean food. Their menu has lot of choices to choose from to cater all tastes. They serve cocktails in copper glasses with a smile. Their quality and quantity of food are good value for money. A nice place to visit for dinner for a happy evening.

Stopped in before a play and had the Mediterranean-Style Salmon (Grilled wild sockeye salmon topped with lemon-caper sauce) and the Chicken Kebab. Both were excellent. Had the fig-vanilla gelato for desert (yum!). Food came out quickly. Service was a little stretched (maybe they were down one person?) but still acceptable. Let them know if you are attending a show and they will guide you to the menu for what works in your time frame.

We liked the food we are, especially the pits with Tzaziki and the lamb kebabs. It was pretty bright for dinner and they didn't take names when you show up so the line for a bit confusing. Overall though, enjoyed the dinner.

My husband suggested we finally try this place after some years of going by. We're very glad we did. We ordered chicken shish kabob and a lamb dish (sorry I can't recall the exact name). The chicken was grilled so that it was cooked very well, juicy and flavorful. Fresh pea risotto was creamy and a perfect compliment to the lamb. All veggies were fresh and full of flavor-just the right amount of salt. We would recommend, for sure, and sorry we missed it all this time. The dessert (tiramisu) was different from others I've had, but very good, and just the right portion for us to share. We got a tasting from the owner of a brownie he is thinking of adding to the dessert menu- and it'll probably be a big incentive for us to go back. $72 for the two of us- with wine and dessert, which is a little more than we thought it would be, but a nice treat.

Cozy and warm within, we entered as a relatively large group and were promptly seated at a long, yet comfortable table. Featuring a Mediterranean-style menu with choices from among Italian, Greek and Turkish tastes they also offer vegetarian along with lamb, steak and salmon dishes, among other items. Our server, Nikita, suggested I try the lamb and, when I replied that I never quite acquired a taste for lamb, he suggested a kebab duo of lamb and beef. I was impressed and thoroughly enjoyed my meal including the best lamb I've ever eaten. Overall, our service was excellent and the food wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We have known about this restaurant for years but for some reason never went there. We didn't have a reservation but they took us right away - next time we will make a reservation so we can have one of the romantic tables by the window. All the staff there are so friendly and warm and the atmosphere is really lovely. The servers were super attentive and fun. But the real reason to visit this restaurant is the fresh, delectable and wonderful Mediterranean food. The lamb chops appetizer was really the most tender lamb I've ever had. I also had the Moussaka and my partner had the lamb trio. So much lamb and so delicious! Hard to choose from all the amazing dishes, so we will definitely be back! Often!

This great little spot is just across from Taproot Theater. We try and come early for dinner before a show and Olive and Grape have shared wonderful food both times we have tried it. They were a little short staffed for our mid-week visit but seemed to help us hurry along once we received our meal. I noticed there was a help wanted ad on the door so they are working on fixing that problem. The lamb was fabulous and the vegetarian meal was not just "salad type things"

Have been several times, food always excellent. Portions can be small (noted by myself and several friends at different times). Recently started a lunch special, this last visit was more than full from the items. Service was good, questions were answered and suggestions were made that pleased us both at this lunch.

I've been to this delightful neighborhood restaurant several times now for dinner and for brunch, and want to recommend it to others. The food is wonderful, based upon the owner's family recipes, and the service is always prompt and friendly. Prices are very reasonable, especially given the quality of the food. I'll be back!

We went on a Thursday at 5:30 and were immediately seated. The owner, Paola, took care of us. She was very pleasant, helpful and the overall service was very good. We started with the Grilled Octopus that was excellent and the Fried Calamari that was very good. For entrees, my wife had the grilled Copper River Sockeye and she thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the Lamb Trio that was very good. Each entrée was a nicely sized portion, came up in a timely manner and was obviously right off the grill. The sides that came with each dish were also very good. In addition, we shared an order of the Borek. There are very few Turkish restaurants in Seattle and if you want to try something that’s just a little different, it’s definitely worth a visit.

I'm a a fan of Olive & Grape, their very friendly manner, solid kitchen and gracious host - who's usually Paola, one of the owners. It's relaxed, and reminds me of some small restaurants we visited in Italy and Greece. Having just eaten there during Seattle Restaurant Week, our three diners had excellent Mezes (ranging from grilled shrimp to a plate of Greek appetizers), Entrees (lamb shank, grilled rib eye, portobello mushrooms) and Dessert (sorbet, tiramisu and panna cotta). We recommend Olive and Grape often to friends visiting in North Seattle or attending performances at Taproot Theatre (nearly across the street).

This great little place is so close to my daughter's place that we can walk there. They have great Mediterranean food, Italian, Greek and Turkish. I haven't found anything I didn't like there yet. It is a family owned restaurant and they do all their own cooking with family recipes. They have the best baklava I have ever tasted and they serve it with fabulous gelato. I great place to go before the community theater which is just around the corner. (Sorry, I can't remember the name of the theater, but it is really nice too. If you can find this restaurant, you can find the theater. It is just around the corner from the restaurant.)

It was a nice day for a walk and my daughter suggested the place for her birthday lunch. (Olive & Grape is walking distance from her apt.) There were many open tables on this Sunday afternoon, and the menu looked good. We were pleased with our dishes--especially the lamb sliders and seafood pasta. The latter had just the right amount (plenty) of garlic. Simple perhaps, but I wish I had the recipe. Other little touches were good--like an excellent lemonade with free refills. There were also some intriguing cocktail specials, but alas it was a bit early for that...Good prices (well, without drinks) and friendly wait staff. We will return.

The three of us chose this restaurant simply by chance. We were looking for some lunch after hound dogging at the book warehouse sale up the street and didn't know what to expect at all. The service was immediate and helpful. When the food arrived it was sublime. Meatballs that actually melted in your mouth, beautifully balanced seasonings, and dutiful but not hovering service gave it a very nice "mom and pop" feel. There were repeat locals in attendance whom the wait staff knew by name. This is usually a pretty safe measure of how the place is perceived locally. The new owners showed a great deal of pride in their food and seemed genuinely happy to have us in their restaurant. The house brand olive oil was for sale at the check out, and after expressing interest in it, we were treated to a complimentary dish of oil and bread to see if we'd like to take a bottle home. We did.

We had this place on our list of places to try – we were not disappointed! A Small neighborhood place. Very friendly and nice atmosphere. The Greek salad is so crisp and fresh! Anything lamb was great. We also had a mushroom appetizer that was stuffed with pesto – outstanding! Should be on the menu every day! Give this place a try!

I am always in search for a flavorful greek salad and this is how your palate gets the greeting - as in hello you are now in the Greek Isle! Classic Greek Menu with Italian dishes as well. I opted for the Sirloin kebab which was perfectly seasoned and grilled along with the risotto and soft pita. My husband had a lamb steak for the first time and he liked it well. The baklava with the ice cream was just enough to wash away the onion-y taste of the salad and grilled marinated veggies. The prices are well within reach of a budget conscious yet savvy eater. Service is excellent because why? You are served by the owner so you can count on personal service. You'll notice that she knows the people going in the restaurant, so you know what that means if people come back to reexperience Greek all over again despite the many choices in the area. I am well pleased.

Last night was my first time eating at this tiny restaurant but won't be my last. I ordered the Greek Salad (half order) & an appetizer which was feta cheese, red pepper paste & walnuts served with peta bread. Very large portions of fresh, vibrant flavors. 3 of my companions ordered entrees; none of us finished our orders but all loved their food. Prices were reasonable - less than $20 for basically 2 meals for me. I highly recommend.

We came to Olive and Grape for the first time for lunch during the Dine Around Seattle special and are so glad that we finally tried this restaurant, being huge fans of Mediterranean (and especially Turkish and Greek food). My husband had the fried cauliflower appetizer (with yogurt sauce), excellently yummy and putting a whole new face on a vegetable we mostly find forgettable. I had two dips, the muhammara (roasted red pepper, tomato paste, walnuts) and the pasa ezmesi (feta, red pepper paste, walnuts), both exceptional and served on warm pita slices. We both had the lamb-duo entree; our Izmir-style lamb shish kebabs were possibly the best we've ever had, the lamb nicely marinated, grilled just to a lovely medium rare, tender and succulent. My husband's Adana Kebab was really tasty--he loved it, noting the really good spicing--and my koftes were on a par with the best we've had in Istanbul. In both cases the meat had been treated very well, without any overprocessing that can make lamb tough and "springy; for lamb lovers like us, these three treatments were a joy. We shared a deliciously creamy lemon panna cotta for dessert and took a slice of truly exceptional baklava home. Portion sizes were, we thought, generous for a lunch. There were very few others in the restaurant, so I can't comment on what the service might be like were the place packed, but the lady who waited on us hit just the right balance of timing and attentiveness. And it's a nice space, though I think I'll bring a cushion next time for the chair. We're going back, for sure, as the expanded menu looks full of really good options for enjoying the best in Mediterranean cuisine.

Always a warm and friendly greeting, with a great Mediterranean menu. They're very community minded owners too, having recently hosted a fundraiser for Nepal earthquake relief. Good food, nice wine list, and European-friendly owners.

Not sure why this place is easy to get into on a Saturday night. This a lovely restaurant with good food. We had a reservation for 6:00 PM, which we had move to 6:30 PM, arrived around 6:50 PM (damn ferries). We had tickets for a production at the Taproot at 7:30 PM. They were able to accommodate a table and provide us a meal, and we made the show. We ordered the chicken skewers 5/5 and the seafood duo option octopus 4.5/5. We would love to go back for a reasonably paced meal.

This is a small neighborhood restaurant brimming with charm. The owner is exceptionally friendly and willing to go out of her way to make your experience a good one. They serve a good selection of Mediterranean dishes - Italian, Turkish and Greek. Our party always has a mixture of vegans and omnivores and everyone finds something they are happy with. The dishes are great to share and reasonably priced. Do save room at the end of the meal for a Turkish coffee and tiramisu! In nicer weather the clear glass "garage door" is open to the Greenwood street scene. I like it both in summer and winter, where the exposed brick interior is cozy feeling.

To start, this is our favorite Seattle restaurant. The food and service are always excellent. So, when we were planning our wedding, we decided to use their catering service. What a great decision! Paola met with us to go over the menu, and provided us with samples of several dishes. They even agreed to work with us to replace one of the meat options with my husband's favorite dish. On the day of the wedding, the food was delivered exactly on time. While this sounds like a small win, when planning an event, on time delivery is essential. And needless to say, the food was delicious! Exactly as we expected. It was so good, in fact, the photographer had a bit of a problem waiting for everyone to finish eating so she could take pictures. Our guests couldn't stop raving about it. In the end, we ordered too much food, so we even ended up with yummy leftovers for a day or two. Good food at a good price and excellent service, you can't go wrong!

We have never had a bad meal here! Their seafood is exceptional, especially the octopus. Pasta is amazing and the risotto so tasty. Great Turkish options, as well as the standard Greek/Mediterranean entrees. Any of the lamb options are good. There is so much variety on the menu that everyone should find something that they'll love.

We dined here last night. The owner was so friendly and welcoming that we were immediately sold on this place. We have dined in Turkey, Greece, and Italy, so we were skeptical...but the food was oh so good. Much of what they serve are family recipes, handed down and each unique. There were 4 of us and we simply let the owner choose 4 starters and 4 entrees....all were great. I was not a fan of eggplant, but I have been converted. Every dish was fresh, flavorful...we can't wait to go back. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. We ended with the baklava and Turkish coffee....yummmm!

We went with a coupon and have come back several times since then. The menu is diverse enough to suit everyone - some Italian dishes, Turkish, Mediterranean dishes. All of the small plates are very tasty. Lamb and seafood is exceptional. Especially pleasant to eat during warm weather when the front is opened up to the sunshine and fresh air. Some of the dishes will change with the season, so return to see what's new.

We ate at the Olive and Grape in Seattle and it was as delicious as always. The entrees have interesting Mediterranean flavors with perfect seasoning. Menu items are varied for everyone's tastes with well written descriptions. We enjoy each dish being served on a larger plate then we share salads, entrees and other menu items. Delicious food, medium size restaurant, always crowded, so be sure to make reservations and be sure to ring the bell at the door as you leave to let them know how much you enjoyed your dinner. Delightful restaurant that you will enjoy.

This is a great place whether you want small plates during Happy Hour or a regular meal at breakfast or dinner. I haven't worked my way through all the plates yet, but, so far, the moussaka and Greek salad are my faves. The dish presentation is unique and very nice, and the different flavors are a treat. It is not a vegetarian restaurant, but it's easy to eat vegetarian here. What do they do to make a simple green bean appetizer taste that good? The atmosphere is charming as is the service ... especially if you are lucky enough to have the owner, Paola, as your server. Do not leave without trying their delicate baklava and a cup of Turkish coffee.

My husband and I discovered The Olive and Grape when we started going to Taproot Theater and we are now fans. It is a cozy neighborhood bistro sort of place where you can actually have a conversation. Service is friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. All the dishes we have tried have been delicious. It is truly "Mediterranean" as they feature food from Turkey, Italy and Greece. We have been told before ordering if they are out of a particular wine. My only complaint is that we have to drive from the Eastside to eat here! It is great.

We have eaten here a few times before attending performances at Taproot Theatre. The food is acceptable though to me seems unremarkable.

One of our favorite Seattle restaurants. Romantic in the evening, with sweet murals and decor, wood furnishings, and warm lighting. Friendly and welcoming, open to the sidewalk in summer, very good food. Not loud. The tavuk tava, moussaka, and salads are favorites here. Great place to go before a show at Taproot Theatre, too.

Our first time here. Outstanding service! Very gracious hosts and attentive service. The food was surpurb! The have a good selection of wines. We had the Turkish Grill for 2, and could not have been more pleased! There was a lot of food, too! So much we ended up bringing some home! If you are in the area, give this place a try! You will not be sorry!

Comprehensive lunch menu. I had delicious lamb döner; my colleague had a delicious soup and salad. Service was quick, atmosphere was conducive to our meeting. I'd go back!

Good food always tasty and onolicious ! Highly recommended if in the Greenwood neighborhood. I reccomend the Gnocchi and Steam Clams as an appetizer and main course.

WOW, these guys amazing! And their food is delicious!! We were on the hunt for a catering company for our wedding. We wanted something affordable that wouldn't cost $50+ per head. Anytime, you say "wedding" almost everyone adds an extra zero to their quote. But not The Olive and Grape! When you go in for a tasting, Paola and Chris are very welcoming, answering any questions you might have (I had A LOT). They are very proud of their food and with good reason!! They gave generous portions and EVERYONE at our wedding LOVED the food. I received so many compliments from guests saying how amazing the food was and how they loved that it wasn't "traditional bland wedding food." I honestly could not be any happier with the food they prepared! They even provided garnishment for my staff when they put it all together (we hired someone to pick the food up and deliver it to our venue). Paola was always a simple email away and always responded quickly. I'm so happy we chose them!

Olive and Grape is a small neighborhood restaurant that is worth the trip for its food and service. While the menu here can be described broadly as "Mediterranean," The primary focus appears to be on Greek and Turkish fare. The kabob choices are plentiful and very good. Superb risotto. The best Greek salad I have had in Seattle. Service is also very good. The specials were carefully and unpretentiously described, as were details of preparation. One gets the feeling that the staff really enjoys working here. Prices are not cheap, but certainly reasonable. My wife and I had dinner with an appetizer and some beers, and the total bill was under $60.

The Olive and Grape served us excellent, authentic Mediterranean food. The delightful owner Paola personally seated and waited on everyone with a warm, welcoming smile. We had the super fresh river salmon and delicious bean salad. We also really loved the fried cauliflower appetizer and Paola’s wonderful Tiramisu. The restaurant is cozy and decorated beautifully. I can highly recommend it!

We had a early dinner at the O & G last night before going to the theatre. Small neighborhood place, a hidden gem. We felt we were back in Greece when we ate the Greek salad, so crisp and fresh. We both had lamb kebab's, brought home half. Love that!! It will be one of our favorites.

Olive and Grape provides a sophisticated twist on familiar food in a comfortable neighborhood setting. Five years in business, with delicious, quality food--Greek, Turkish, and some Italian choices, all carefully prepared and beautifully presented. Tuesday evenings are now "happy hour" all evening, with smaller portions at good prices. Outstanding! Highly recommend.

We needed an early sitting and found the perfect time on Open Table. My wife and daughter had lamb dishes, which they said were very good. I had the seafood pasta which was excellent with all the shell fish. Our service was good and we were out in good time. The dinner was topped off with chocolate gelato, which was seriously chocolate.

My husband and I went here for the first time for my birthday. I have a number of dietary restrictions, and we found them online while looking for a place with gluten-free and vegan options. They had a few to choose from, which was great! We both enjoyed the food quite a bit, although it is a bit on the pricey side - it was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were generous. My only comment overall is that our waiter was very apathetic. I'm not a person who requires a lot of fake enthusiasm at a restaurant, but we felt borderline like our being there was an inconvenience. We also had to ask for literally everything - to order drinks, to have them refilled, etc. That being said, I understand it's possible for anyone to have a bad day and I would definitely give this place another shot.

We stopped in for an early Saturday supper before the theatre. When we entered by the back door from the parking lot, the odor of garbage was strong and so unpleasant that we almost backed out the door. They keep the gelato back there and I was concerned that it might absorb the odor. We were given a table by a pleasant young woman but my wife was seated in what appeared to be a narrow alley between tables through which our waiter continuously cleared dirty glasses and passed them to the bartender. The menu offers non-alcoholic beer for $5.5. When we asked the brand, Nikita told us that had none and offered some sort of Greek soda pop instead. When I asked what they normally carry, he said he didn't know. I drank room-temperature tap water instead. The menu is large and very inclusive of Mediterranean dishes. We had the borek -- filo-wrapped feta deep fried and served with tzatziki -- and it was very good. My sweet bride had the bean salad and I the Greek; both were very good. We then shared the Grill Platter for Two which included kebabs of beef sirloin, lamb and chicken as well as four kofte of lamb. Several of the kebabs were dry; the kofte was perfect and wonderfully flavourful. All that meat (and it was a LOT of meat, even for two people) was accompanied by a curious green-pea risotto. The rice was very long grain and not of the sort usually used to make risotto. The flavour was better than the texture. Because they were slow in getting our food on the table (the place was only half full), we did not have time before curtain to enjoy dessert. My bride wants to go back and give them another chance; I need to be convinced.

We are always on the lookout for new and different dining experiences. Looking online and found the Olive and Grape. Reviews were mixed so we decided to try it. Our server Paola was wonderful and made some excellent suggestions on what to order. We shared a lovely bottle of Chianti and a Turkish platter of appetizers. The lamb was tender and tasty, and the cheese stuffed "things" (sorry can't remember the name) were great, especially with the Tzaniti (sp?) dip also served with pita bread, I was not a fan of the grape leaves - but hubby scarfed them down. Hubby ordered the caprese duo dinner with a great looking and tasty caprese salad, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and a flavorful chicken kabob. I chose the grilled shrimp - very good, just wish there were more! We also shared the garlic fries - better than Safeco's. He tried the Turkish coffee and was not a fan. A bit too bitter for his taste. But he was asked if he wanted a little sugar and cream. I had the baklava with chocolate hazelnut gelato. Very creamy and the baklava was flaky and sweet. We feel as though we found a new restaurant to add to our rotation! We will be back!

Last night was yet another enjoyable evening at the Olive and Grape. While we live out on the distant WA coast, we come to Seattle several times each year to enjoy shows at the nearby Tap Root Theater. Our favorite pre-show lunch or dinner spot is easily the Olive and Grape. Last night, my wife and younger daughter were otherwise committed so I had the joy of enjoying dinner with my older (12 year old) daughter. We feasted on the Turkish Grill Platter for two, while enjoying a lively atmosphere of a house full of similarly happy customers and a nearby table that included a party of five gentlemen who several times burst out in song (with a well rehearsed and varied repertoire) adding to the ‘joie de vivre’ vibe at the Olive and Grape. I was told this group of ‘singing’ customer’s visit the restaurant regularly and always spontaneously entertains anyone who happens by… I was once again impressed with the quality and quantity of the food, the excellent service, the friendly and lively atmosphere of the Olive and Grape...and my daughter now thinks this small town guy is quite the big city expert...!

We were welcomed by the owner who treated us as if we were returning not first timers at the Olive & Grape. The food was very tasty and with large enough proportions that I had enough for meal at home. The balaclava is home made and is better than other places in the whole world!

I am still in shock over the truly awful meal we had at this restaurant. I am in shock because it is a favorite of a friend who thinks this is a good neighborhood restaurant, family-run and cared for, with authentic Mediterranean cuisine. So what happened the evening we dined there? It was a Sunday night in mid December. When we had a special guest visiting from England who we had not seen for several years, I selected this restaurant, confident that we'd have an interesting and special meal. What a mistake that was! That meal has to rank as the worst I have had in Seattle, or anywhere for that matter. To start, I had asked for a quiet table -- although the restaurant was less than half full, we were seated next to a very loud party. We eventually moved ourselves over to another corner of the restaurant. That evening the restaurant was out of everything -- there were two rose wines on the menu, but they did not have the one I wanted. Nor did they have some of the other wines we asked for. I asked what the soup of the day was -- it was nothing. They didn't have a soup that day. They were also out of their chicken dishes, exactly what we would have ordered since we don't eat red meat. Almost every side dish or preparation seems to contain bell peppers and/or onions. Unfortunately, I am allergic to those two vegetables. The kitchen that night was not flexible in working around my allergies. Combined with the fact that they were mostly out of everything -- it was slim pickings. (By the way, this was before the Christmas snow). In the end, the only thing on the menu that we could eat was the grilled octopus/salmon plate. The portions were tiny and the food was not particularly good, not tasting like the fresh seafood described. The side dish was also poor. And there was an additional charge for pita bread. The service was poor -- to get our waiter's attention I had to walk over to the grill. It is a mystery to me that others have had such a completely different experience dining here. Perhaps this was just an off night. Whatever, our dinner for three came to $160 -- and we left hungry and disappointed. And I, who paid the bill, felt a bit "ripped off." Upon leaving, our guest joked -- "The Olive and The Grape? perhaps just "The Olive" - or "The Grape," since they're likely out of one.

i am not one to generally one that generally enjoys this type of cuisine. The restaurant had many options which I enjoyed thoroughly. The others in the group who do love this cuisine were very enthusiastic and looking forward to coming again. The service was attentive and friendly. We will be back I am sure when we visit our friends in the area again

Good location amongst dozens of good restaurants in north Seattle. The pasta was excellent and so was the service. I felt like I was back in Italy, Highly recommended.

My husband and I decided to try dining at the Olive and Grape on Valentine's Day. I made a reservation for 6:30 PM. It was crowded and we were seated in the very back of the restaurant. Even though it was a Price Fix type dinner, it took so long to bring the entree to the table that I thought they were out rustling cattle! (I ordered the ribeye). We didn't even get our salad (pre-entree) until 8:00 PM (1-1/2 hours after our arrival). And then they brought us dessert! I had to remind them we hadn't yet received our entree! Everyone around us received their food before us!

The restaurant would benefit by specializing in its menu. The offerings although numerous are too many to do any one item justice. Focus on a few items and the results will be better food choices.
Fabulous food and wonderful attention
Just had a lovely dinner at this local restaurant. Friendly atmosphere, amazing food, and welcoming attention. The chicken kabobs are delicious (moussaka, too, as reported by my husband). The mid-priced Spanish tempranillo perfect, and the gelato - well, I could keep eating it forever. By the number of locals that came in during our Sunday evening meal, I'd say this place is a hit.
