Good Food, OK Service

Food is good, prices are reasonable, but service is ehh ... recommend going, but not when they are very busy.

Yummy salads and laffa to fill you up right!

By Brian G |

The shish kabob skewer is literally 5 pieces of meat that didn't seem to be all that seasoned or prepared well. And yet... I'm sticking to my 5* rating. For $7 a person, you can have all you can eat little salads. 12 of them. 3 kinds of cabbage salad, Israeli salad, chummus, etc. Very tasty. Comes with all the laffa you want too, and you WILL want it. Made fresh on premises, tastes amazing. The other thing that was amazing was the onion rings. Can't remember the last time they were done so well, with properly heated oil, good crispy breading and a decent amount. Fries were ok, not great.

Not Your Average Kosher Restaurant !

I don't frequently get to Brooklyn, NY. In fact, I think it was perhaps three years before my wife and I recently were there. We found Olympic Pita on the internet and decided to try it out. We were both glad that we did. The restaurant is both nice and clean. Service was prompt and attentive from the moment we arrived until we left. The portions were huge and the food was very tasty. My wife had the shnitzel, which consisted of two large pieces with a very flavorful coating that took up the majority of the plate. I ordered the Shawarma (Lamb & Turkey) which was freshly sliced off the spit on the rotisserie in the front of the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. We shared an order of fries, which tasted the way my mom used to make it - I loved it. By the way, the Lafa they served (we ordered some Baba Ganoush with it) was fresh, warm and delicious. Our server was great. He kept checking to see if there was anything more he could do for us. In addition, another server (perhaps the owner ?) was very nice to us. Since we did not know the area at all, she recommended an old style bakery and a supermarket with fresh meat and poultry that she thought we would enjoy. They were both great places and we thank her for telling us about them. OK, the only downside is that we thought the prices were a bit high. But, remember, you're talking about Kosher food, large portions and great taste. We'll be back, regardless of the price.

Great Middle eastern Kosher Food

We stayed in a Brookyn Hotel and they recommended this restaurant. Its a real happening place , very busy, cause they serve great food , quick , fresh and very reasonable priced. The next time we are in Brooklyn, we will surely come by from some very good lafa

Check for hours before going. Closed on Friday, Opens for lunch later than neighboring restaurants

After 3 failed attempts at Coney Island location, we went to other Brooklyn location, All food at Flatlands location were delicious and portions were very generous. We ordered shawarma on laffa, falafel, and chicken dishes. Each dish was served with as many items as a side salad as you wanted. Then we could choose from the same sides as topping on the sandwich. All the food was very flavorful. So much food test we took home east we could not finish. Server was very helpful, steered us through choices. Place is small.

Excellent laffa and middle eastern salads

By davida b |

Having lived in the Middle East most of my life I was very happy to find this gem in Brooklyn. The fresh baked laffa and falafel was excellent as was my companions' shwarma and snitzel (fried chicken). The array of ethnic salads brought to the table was great especially the home made humus and schug (hot spicy pesto type spread). They even have take out so I could take some back with me to the hotel. Really enjoyed the meal and service was very friendly.

Not recommended!

Unclean , we had a terrible experience. Employees are rude, we waited over 30 min for the food when arrived it was half raw! Will never go back

Nice, not great

Friends have raved about this place. The lafa was, indeed, delicious, but the shwarma not so much and the prices seemed awfully high for this family oriented place. There is a back room, which is nice if you need it. Service was quite indifferent - it was difficult to get a server's attention.

Huge laffa

Gigantic-sized laffa with schwarma, fresh and good salads and sauces. The pickled veggies were delicious.

Amazing food

We had a take out from Olympic pita: chicken kebab sandwich, chicken shawarma sandwich and a small side of baba ghanouj. Both sandwiches came with lots of sides: Israeli salad, red cabbage salad, sour cabbage salad. Everything tasted amazing. Highly recommend this place.

Fair at Best

While in Brooklyn, we were looking for a late evening Kosher meal. Sadly in this area, at 10 PM on a weekday night, not too much is open. We thought the restaurant looked nice, with a Jerusalem or Tiberias theme (the pictures and the general décor had that Israeli look). Sadly the food was greasy and bland. To top it off the prices were top shelf, and they even added the tip of 15% to the bill for you. No one in my family was too impressed with this place. The next time we are in that area, we'll try someplace else.
