Awesome Dinner at O’

By Hardrocker8888 |

Friends and I ate here for the very first time. We had the 9-course meal. And what amazing dinner. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was inviting. The presentation of the food was mesmerizing. My favorite was the seafood. Thanks for the souvenir menu and chocolates.

Just ok

By SmithDrKat |

Cute little but be prepared to walk 4 flights to get to just ok. No elevators. Go to the clock bar instead because it was livelier and great woodwork in the decor

Very nice pastry’s

By bloodflowers01 |

Very nice choice of French pastry’s. Perhaps a little bit expensive, but very good in taste. Also the coffee was tasteful. Very nice service.

Must Visit!

By connie t |

Husband & I stranded in San Fran due to global outage. Went for husband’s birthday We cannot say enough excellent reviews about their food and service. Devin was our waiter and so helpful. We enjoyed escargot, tomato heirloom, grilled duck, braised beef and of course deserts. We would absolutely visit again if in the area.

Pastries beautiful

By caldance |

The Napoleon was excellent. A nice, but expensive spot for a coffee/pastry break off Union Square. We ate brunch at the Bistro before dessert downstairs. Our main take away was that it was really expensive for me and my friend. Very friendly staff.

Amazing. Love this place.

By donnaks |

Top quality pastries and coffee. The pastries are yes, as good as they look. Strong and bold espresso roasts, this place is the real deal!

One 65 Bistro & Grill: A Hidden Gem - Amazing Food

By Jean831 |

Went to One65 Bistro & Grill for friend’s dinner birthday celebration. Can’t say enough about this place. The decor was modern and elegantly understated. We all had the testing menu. Every entrée on the menu was beautifully presented with amazing flavors. The wait staff was exemplary and our waiter, Michael, was top notched. There was one item on the menu that I didn’t care for and a substitution was happily made for me (I was offered 2 choices). The Duck was everyone’s favorite. It was tender and exceptionally flavored, cooked perfectly. It was served with the most heavenly side of mashed potato I’ve ever eaten. It was silky smooth, full of potato flavor, butter and cream. We went back to the open kitchen and chatted with Chef Jennifer and got to see where all the action was. My friends and I highly recommend this place and we can’t wait for a return visit

Nice pastries, but staff barked at us as we waited for the place to open

By ashlandfan |

We arrived at One65 at 8:55 a couple of days ago, not realizing that the place did not open until 9. A couple of minutes later, one of the staff opened the door and we started to go in. Note that the shop's hours are not posted at the front door. "We don't open until 9", he barked at us. So we continued waiting outside. The next few minutes, staff brought tables outside, rudely placing them right a couple of inches by where we were standing, not acknowledging that we were even there. We decided that we didn't need to be treated like garbage so early in the morning and left. All this could have been easily handled with a smile, an "I'm sorry, we'll be open in a few minutes, look forward to you're joining us then," and "excuse me, could you stand over here for a minute while we put these tables out?" I had visited One65 earlier in the year and really enjoyed the pastry, the gorgeous levain loaf I took home, and yes, the service, which was really friendly. I guess now that Covid's over and the tourists are starting to come back, they could care less about being nice to their customers any more. Too bad.

Excellent breakfast

By Laurent V |

We had breakfast. It was excellent ! You can find the taste of French pastries there... or even better! The price is high but the quality remains.

Incredible patisserie

By portlandorer |

The quality of ingredients are masterfully combined into luscious pastries. As tourists from a very foody city, we embarrassingly went there night after night, unable to resist the succulent concoctions. It's certainly not cheap, but quality like this inevitably comes at a price. Get there by early evening or they'll be out of the banana chocolate croissant which has to be their benchmark pastry, a benchmark even by SF standards.. And it's topped off with an exceptionally nice staff.

Excellent pastry but overpriced

By alexlap |

A great pastry but really too expensive for a simple breakfast. There are tables available without Service.

Great bakery/restaurant

By Paul B |

Was recommended by our hotel and we ended up going three different times. Great specialty desserts/baked goods, macarons and breakfast fare. Really good food (and coffee). Bravo!

Out of the ordinary place1

By Beverly F |

If you want to treat yourself to something special, take a walk down O'Farrell near the cable cars on Powell ST and let your eyes feast on delicate macaroons, french pastry delights. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly and everything I have tried has been tasty! Try the Kouign Amann if you've never had one - it won't disappoint! Imagine the best croissant you've ever had with sugar baked in between layers for crispy light goodness!

Sugar High

By pq1 |

The desserts were very good. The croissants were large but almost too buttery. Service was friendly. Lots of options to pick from. The bread pudding cake was great. They will add to your bill if you are eating at one of the restaurants.

Great snacks, large portions and fair prices. High-quality pastries and patisserie

Pastries: eye candy creations you won't forget

By SleeplessInMontreal0 |

One65 Patiserrie Stumbled upon this place and thought I had walked into a pastry art store. I found myself gazing at the long glass displays as if each piece were a beautiful work of pastry art. Each creation was pure eye candy! As I inched toward the end of the display I felt a bead of sweat forming… gulp, how in heavens do you choose?! The pistachio croissant, the banana chocolate filled croissant, the slice of bread pudding maybe the mango banana passionfruit exotic cake! I went back twice during my short trip in SF and can say the pastries are made with high quality ingredients and artisan craftmanship. You should try as many as possible!

Vive la patisserie français

By Fourthmonth |

Looking for a French bakery? The pastries here are amazing. I had an individual lemon tart, my husband a raspberry/chocolate croissant. A tad pricey but you won’t find better.

Wonderful pastries & desserts

By Randy M |

There really isn’t much to brag about or even recommend in Union Square when considering food options. I do make a point periodically to stop at One65 for a pastry and coffee on the way to work as they have the most incredible offerings. Of course it’s pricey and not exactly help you keep your figure but so worth the treat. The almond croissant is a favorite of mine as is the kouign amann. They do offer other breakfast options as well as wonderful cakes and candy. If you are in the vicinity, definitely start you morning right by dropping into this breakfast spot.

Beautiful French pastries

By Beverley S |

One65 is a gem in SF, if you're looking for beautifully made pastries and other French goodies served with good espresso coffee. The products are made with high quality ingredients and the kitchen can be seen from the cafe. The cafe is clean and bright and the staff are interested in helping you. We just had coffee and pastries, but they also serve breakfast and lunch.

We expected fine dining but got bar food instead!

By Globegal |

We made a reservation for a fine dining experience, for 8:30 pm, only to arrive to discover that last seating was for 8:30 so we were encouraged to eat in the Elements Bar instead of the 6th floor restaurant. Same Michelin star kitchen- we were told! This building has six stories. Make sure to book at One65 - on the 6th floor - if you want the dining experience For being a Michelin star eatery, we were underwhelmed. Menu was limited, salad too salty, chicken moist but not spectacularly tasty.. And the prices were high. Two martini, one glass of wine, one entree and a few small dishes came in at $200!

Outstanding chocolates

By salisburyjane |

Popped in for a coffee, could not resist the delicious and very creative chocolates. They looked and tasted stunning, and the coffee was good too. Very pleasant experience.

A treat every time

By tonyirish |

My only negative about this place is that I live too far away! It is always such a treat, when in the city, to stop by and try one of their delectable dessert options. Such variety, such deep flavors, such ornate beauty.

Kevin is the Man!

By dthomas525 |

We wanted to have dinner here but an unexpected event prevented us. But Kevin invited us in for a cocktail and turned it all around. We were hesitant because we wanted a drink and not the spectacular pastries we saw from the front. This venue is unique, it has three floors each with it's own level of charm and sophistication. Don't let the bakery front dissuade you from venturing up to the second floor for a Sprinkle! The drinks are superb and Carolina is a great server! Upon leaving we meet the Chef and his wonderful charming wife. I must also give recognition to Jessica, she works behind the scenes to keep the ship afloat! Kevin and her went above and beyond to aid us in our time of need. We will be back on our next visit to SFO because of the way they made us feel...welcomed and appreciated!

A delightful touch of France in San Francisco

By Louis D |

Enjoyed a French style breakfast in downtown San Francisco. Fresh delicious croissants with cafe au lait. Plenty of other temptations very visible on display at this authentic a French pastry boutique.

Nice Pastries!

By mshapiro99 |

Grabbed quick takeout pastries from this location. Tasty and priced on par with the other coffee and pastry shops, this close-to-our-hotel restaurant gave us a convenient option to keep moving while enjoying a nice treat.

Great cocktail bar, with awesome

By frank s |

Great cocktail bar, with awesome drinks, very creative, very good chill music and nice interior make this bar a place to be. Rated as one of the best bars in town..... indeed

Great croissants, bad service

By Elysera |

We enter this bakery attracted by the good reviews and because in the next room there was a very long line. The croissants are expensive but delicious as well as the cappuccino, the service however is bad: annoyed and rude waiters with customers, we understood why the line was at the local next door....

One of the best bars in SF

By Antonio M |

A friend and I went to the Element Bar & lounge here at ONE65 and oh boy was I impressed. The rich and fresh atmosphere was amazing, receiving the drink became a beautiful experience and our waiter was the most helpful and accommodating waiter I’ve ever met, it was a total treat. The restrooms were some of the cleanest I’d seen.

Oh my!!

By mikiemd |

We came across this place on a lark. We had dinner there one night and it was very very good. The service is a bit uneven, but they are still getting their feet wet with the opening. The chicken was totally awesome. We had a small sampling of the dessert menu, and the wine selection was reasonable. But, we did go back twice to get desserts from the patisserie. Go early, as they run out, particularly on a weekend. We loved the chocolate banana croissant and the macaroon selection was amazing. We bought one of the baguettes for lunch the next day and it was great - vegetarian with a bit of kick to the spice. We will be back again next year!!

VERY disappointing

By gregdjohnson3838 |

We dined here on Saturday, December 14, 2019. First, we have been to the 4th floor bar, Elements, several times and it’s always been great This was our second trip to the Bistro, the first time pre-theatre for a couple appetizers and two entrees- all quite good We were excited to return and experience the tasting menu today. Unfortunately, excitement turned to concern and disappointment and sadness as each course was successively more and more disappointing From fish that wasn’t fresh, to poor veloute, to steak without a sear, to a mediocre ice cream dessert, the tasting menu was one negative experience after another. Likewise the wine pairings were seriously sub-par (and, for generally inexpensive wine, oddly stingy pours). Adding to the problems of food and wine were untrained servers, who, while pleasant, don’t know much about the food or wine they are serving (this is a restaurant issue- their training is terrible and no one should be interfacing with customers if they aren’t properly prepared) We mentioned our disappointment to the server, when asked, who was contrite. The manager did come by, but really only asked us to “give them another chance” though offered no reason why we should expect better a second time- and having just paid for a bad experience, offered no clear assurance that we wouldn’t be wasting time and money to return. I did try to speak to the chef, who said he’d heard we weren’t happy, but really didn’t seem the least interested in knowing why or making it right. More an attitude of “so what” Sadly, this place seems destined to be another place that looks nice and where tourists dine, but not a place for locals who know we have much better options at the same price point

Amazing food. If you looking

By Mari B |

Amazing food. If you looking for French anything and delicious time you come to right place. Service amazing. We wine people and they didn’t let us down with recommendations. Let’s not mention dessert it’s to die for!! Must come if you in SF!!!! Relaxing and not crazy like all other places in city but way better quality

Afternoon treat with family. All pastries are absolutely beautiful and amazing delicious. We tried several macarons, pear and honey cake and chocolate mousse. Everything was fresh and delicious.

Innovative web page, intriguing building with diverse functions and not the least great food and value

By Adtravel75 |

A new spot, since May I think, in Union Square, the building has a patisserie on the ground floor, bistro on the third, bar on the fourth (Element), fine dinning on the fifth (O) and private dinning on the sixth. Was intrigued by the architecture and decided to try the food. Dinner at the bistro, the seven course tasting menu was very tasty indeed but not heavy, with the traditional French touch but much lighter sauce and flavor. The cost is $95 per person, a steal in SF. The quality of food and service are first rate. Friendly but attentive. The atmosphere at the bistro was clean and pleasant with an open kitchen at the rear. We were do impressed with the dinner we came back the next morning to have breakfast at the patisserie. The pastries, bread and drinks are truly Parisian with quick and pleasant service. Did not have a chance to try out the fifth floor dining with the full chef’s tasting menu but will certainly return for that. As I told the executive chef who visits each table, this is one place I will happily tell my friends about.

High quality pastries at a Reasonable Price

By IGNDJ |

High quality pastries at a reasonable price. I always buy pastries to take home when in business in Town. While looking for my go-to pastry shop I ran into this one and gave it a try. Claire was very knowledgeable of the pastries, flavors and textures. Very patient to all my questions and a true pleasure to be helped by her. I tried some of the items and they were all beyond my expectations. Tomorrow I’ll be there for breakfast and to grab me some pastries to take home to the family- specially the Macarons. For my long flight home I have already eyeballed a good looking french baguette sandwich and some other pastries. This place is immaculately clean and the personnel are neatly groomed, in uniform and well trained on the products. Give it a try and You too will be blown away.

Best Croissant outside France, really…. :)

By wm-ref |

Our last day in San Francisco and the USA before returning to the UK. Asked a sales assistant in Louis Vuitton where the best brunch was. Carlos suggested ONE65. Didn’t buy a handbag….. We had the Salmon Benedict, coffee and hot chocolate. Really very good indeed. My wife’s pouched eggs were perfect, mine could have done with a further 30 seconds , didn’t matter. The Croissants were the best I have ever had outside France. Truly, amazing flavour, crumbly, light exquisite. I was latter told by concierge at our hotel that she believed the owner is French and has a Michelin star. I believe it, croissants and pastry heaven, well certainly looked that way to me. All just like the web site. Next time I am in San Francisco I will go back. Only got 4* because one server was moaning saying she was leaving tmr, (good job) and the slightly under cooked pouched eggs. No matter even if you just buy a take out croissant or pastry, you really should go. Outstanding croissants.

Opulent regalia but little subtlety and complexity

By B d A |

Overcelebrated in discreet media terms, located opposite Macy's. To be considered in European Franco-Italian terms interestingly just above average. Polished, well presented, well disposed and obliging staff. Opulent portionised and priced too viennoiserie. However not that of a subtle proposal. In America there is a nouveau riche ingredient to thins and attitudes and the Porsche Cayenne park and collect en style touch and pick approach. We reflected on European simplicity, decent pricing and the coffee of a different caliber. Poor in salty selections too.

Best croissant in SF

By mauro |

Really good coffee and amazing croissants. The best in SF. Small place, few seats, take over available. Nice service and fare prices

Check out a new restaurant in town!

By suzer55 |

I initially found this restaurant on Opentable but also did a Yelp search to see if the reviews were legit. We celebrated our Double Anniversary (18years of marriage and 16 years from my last date of radiation), and we had a blast. This is one of the new restaurants that opened a while ago and they have the open kitchen so you can watch the chefs cook. I loved it! You can get a table by the window but I highly recommend going to the chefs table to watch the Kitchen in action. You’ll enjoy it more if you’re a smaller group since there’s limited seating. We were there for the brunch menu but we left stuffed! it was a good deal ($40 for appetizer and entree...bigger portions than I expected) The “must have” on their list is the Onion Tart. It sounds weird but it was amazing! I had the steak and eggs but now I wish I tried the eggs Benedict because each time i wanted them cook and plate it, it looked glorious! Save dessert for the patisserie downstairs. It’s macaroon heaven and their chocolates are divine! I will further note that ONE65 (165 O’Farrell) is a pretty cool concept. 4th floor is a bar (and they have happy hour) 5th floor is for private events, and supposedly they also have tea time! I’m coming back here for sure!

Phenomenal croissants

By Itinerant_Foodies |

We stopped here for brunch and selected the ham and cheese croissant which was phenomenal. Great flavor, super flaky and perfect croissant. We followed that up by sharing the black currant croissant which was also a perfect croissant with excellent chocolate and black currant flavored filling. Great service. Clearly a perfectionist pastry chef is behind the scenes.

O' fine dining, amazing!!!

By caros |

The food at O' by Claude Le Tohic was exquisite!! We had the pleasure of having Carlo as our waiter, he was outstanding! He shared so much knowledge with us about the food, had an amazing sense of humor and a genuinely huge heart. Our 5-course experience was once in a lifetime... not a drop of food that wasn't tasty... from beginning to end (including the amazing, beautiful and intricate chocolate and desserts). Hope to experience again some day. This is fine dining at its best!! Thank you Carlo!!

Explore every floor

By marcus k |

Ok..maybe not in one day...but come back and try another floor. We came in for the tasting menu at the Bistro on the 3rd floor. Had a 7 course tasting menu paired with 5 fine wines. Also a + 1 sparkling at the beginning to start the celebration. Atmosphere at the kitchen counter was lively and fun. Watched the young chefs master their trade. Watched the sous chef QC each dish before its brought to the tables. Later the head chef and founder Claude Le Tohic came by and talked about his and the sous chefs' Joel Robuchon (Las Vegas) days. They definitely had some solid experience before coming to SF and opening this place 6 months ago. We started with a delicious Red Beet Gazpacho. Yum. Then one single oyster. An amazing slab of tuna on eggplant and pork fat. Another small bisque before serving a hearty half smoked salmon. Duck breast was delicious and especially the tiny dollop of mashed potato. Ok...its 1/2 butter. Desert was a creative ice cream Nougatine. I could have eating 3 of those. Meanwhile our neighbors were eating a-la-cart and got an amazing beef tartine with fries. I so wanted some fries so I ordered some of those as well. Yum! Each dish was awesome. Service was great. C'mon over and try one of the floors next time you are at Union Square.

Some kinks to work out, but will go back

By deborah e |

First, One65 has 4 levels of dining, each of them with a completely different feel. We had lunch at the Bistro and loved the ambience and the food. The service was the only issue - nothing terrible, just had to ask for menus, ask for a wine list, and got kind of abandoned by our server at the end. As it's pretty pricey, we expected the staff to be a little more attentive (or better trained?)

What a great place

By Olga B |

I mention a great place, because One65 has a whole building. In one floor they have this beautiful bar. We were early for our lunch and our husbands hadn’t arrived, so we went to the bar. It’s beautifully decorated and the drinks wonderful. I had a gin and tonic with berries and my daughter rose sparkling. We were very lucky because the wife of the owner and chef was arranging things at the bar and came over to see how we were doing. She is a beautiful Brazilian lady and asked if we wanted to see the place. She took us to the ground floor where they have the things you can buy and take home or eat there. The pastries looked amazing, sandwiches, salads, bowls of fruits, ice cream and many more goodies. Everything was amazing, second floor is the bakery and kitchen, there we meet the husband and chef, who is French. It was amazing , third floor, is the place for lunch, fourth floor, the bar and fifth floor the dinner dining room. Everything decorated beautifully. We went to the luncheon dining room and our husbands were waiting. Had oysters from 3 different areas, wonderful, the terrine thawas delicious, eggs Benedict, superb, the sting Wray was amazing, stake tartare, delicious and campanarie pasta, great. The food is amazing and the service too. We all loved it and were very impressed that they have a whole building to enjoy. Ready to try the dining room in the evening pretty soon.

Love the Desserts

By Hardrocker8888 |

There was a wide selection of desserts. The desserts were beautifully displayed. The staff were friendly and helpful.

An amazing breakfast for your eyes and your belly

By Brandon K |

We stumbled on this place after returning our rental car down the street. The pastries in the case are gorgeous and drew us in. The taste matched and possibly even exceeded the visuals. We split a strawberry rhubarb danish in hand shaped flaky dough to look like a little basket. The fillings were amazing that the dough baked just right. It was almost too pretty to eat, but I did it anyway. Wife had a good lavender latte there and I tried an iced black tea. Tea was so concentrated, I cut it half again with water and had tea all morning long, but it was good. We are already planning how to be in the area for another breakfast while we are in town.

Favorite Patisserie in San Fransisco!

By blayrisson |

ONE65 Patisserie & Boutique was recommended by our hotel for great pastries. I am so thankful for the recommendation as it was two blocks from our hotel making it the perfect spot for breakfast to go or a sweet treat on our way back each day. We visited ONE65 Patisserie & Boutique daily. The pastries had me reminiscing my time in Paris as they were just as good if not better than some of the French Patisseries I have visited. The almond croissant and Chocolate Banana Croissant were my favorites. My husband and boys also enjoyed the Plain Croissant, Raspberry Chocolate Croissant, Ham and Cheese Croissant and the Pain Aux Raisins. There were many other options I hope to try in the future. As an afternoon treat we sampled several of their cakes and macaroons. The Lemon Yuzu Cake was a fan favorite. Each morning I ordered a SF Fog Latte and my boys had the Hot Chocolate. Both were delicious. They also serve several lunch options. We ordered the Vegetarian Panini with Greek salad and the Roast Beef with Greek salad. I ordered via their storefront app and it did not allow me to add special instructions. Because of this, I found the garlic aioli to be a bit overwhelming. I would have preferred it with no aioli. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. To ensure you get it right, order in person as the staff will take care of your special request The service was fantastic each time we visited as the staff was friendly and efficient in getting people through the line. There are tables to sit to enjoy your treats while it can get crowded during peak times. Do yourself a favor and schedule a visit to this sweet spot. I am already looking forward to my next visit during future trips to San Fransisco.

Floors of good eating and creative cocktails

By Kari W |

We discovered One65 by accident, when looking for something nearby. I think they should do a better job marketing their unique and wonderful French food experience. Elements is such a fun cozy bar with creative drink concepts that are sure to impress. Last night we tried out the Bistro 1 floor down and enjoyed the tasting menu. Next time we would like to check out "O" on the top floor.

Great coffee and amazing croissants

By jla113 |

Went for coffee but could not resist their raspberry and chocolate croissant. It was delicious shame I didn’t have time to come back for others
