The decor in this place really gives you an idea of what's to come. The atmosphere is only accented by the amazing food. Will have to go back to try more items.

I had Lunch, and wine, at One Up, during my most recent visit in September. Previously, I had only dined there, when we stayed at the Hyatt. on Union Square. This visit, we were staying across the street, but I decided that, based on the previous meal, I would do lunch at OneUp. I opted for the Strauss Grass-fed Grilled Hamburger w/ cheddar cheese, Dijonnaisse, pickles, lettuce, sliced tomatoes on brioche with ‘House-made Chips.” During this time, I was doing “Burger Quest” in San Francisco, and wanted to revisit the OneUp Burger. It was good, however not great. It now ranks as #4 in my Burger Quest. Service was very good, and my Zinfandel went well with the burger. I will return, even if not staying at the Hyatt.

Food was ok. Waitress told us a dish (tacos) were vegetarian and I ordered it with no cheese however when it came out it was a pork taco. When I pointed this out she was very unhelpful and brought me back tacos with cheese after the rest of my family had finished eating. The taste was very average after all of this! Also brought us the wrong bill. Very disappointed at such a nice hotel.

This is a nice location and in the hyatt hotel just off Union Square. The bar was quite busy but not overly. The service was very slow which is not my usual experience with hyatt.

Food and drinks were really good, its worth exploring. Open late and staff is very helpful. Good wine selection.

I have eaten here several times while staying at the Grand Hyatt countless times. I always enjoy the bar's wine by the glass menu. A lot of great choices. But I've now tried several things on the menu and it leaves a lot to be desired. Flavor profile is just very bland. If you are staying at the Hyatt, plenty of other choices around.

For a hotel lobby bar upstairs kind of thing, this fits the bill. Danilo our bartender was genuinely nice and informative. Being on the 10yr Yelp Anniversary party gig, this seemed like a decent place to calm down after a long day of traveling. A cold beer sounded great and a nice glass of wine for the Suzie, seemed to be in order. I was a little disappointed that the tap offerings were limited, Sam Adams Summer Ale was my first pick followed by Stella. Was hoping they would carry more local stuff, especially since there is an Asian brewery a block or so away. We were a pit peckish and the Gilmore Tater Tots sounded intriguing. We ordered them and once they arrived you could smell the lovely aroma of garlic, wafting up our nostrils, filling our brains with the expectation of tastiness. But, that was really not to be. The taste was actually pretty bland and one forgot quickly there was any garlic in these little bites at all. Shame. I think you could say, poor finish. Still hungry, we opted for the meatballs. Two to be precise, for 12 bucks. Yikes. They were very dense and a little void of flavor, however the tomato sauce which accompanied them was a nice rich flavorful pairing. One item of note, apparently we had arrived between shift change and the meatballs took a little while to get to us. The bartender mentioned that to us and comped us a round for waiting. This was quite unexpected. A very nice gesture. The menu for the lounge was limited, but there were several offerings of some flat bread which looked intriguing if we find our way back there.

We stayed here on the 20th floor. The room was good overlooking the city. One issue was we booked through Expedia, when we arrived we were advised that when booking through a third party the hotel cannot guarantee the actual room booked. We booked the single room with the king bed. When we arrived we were advised we had the double queen bed suite. Once we explained the booking the change was made without any issues at all.

We Ate lunch here even though I was not staying at the hyatt. The new lunch menu offers you a choice of three, four or five small bites (think tapas style) for $16, $21 or $25 depending on how many items you select. I had a cup of clam chowder, a pulled pork slider and a seafood Louis salad (3 items) for $16. All three were excellent. The chowder was outstanding. My wife had the bacon burger slider, homemade potato chips and the BLT sandwich. The slider and the chips were great - the BLT was good. There are lots of choices to choose from including three desserts. I loved the concept and the food was excellent. The setting is modern and comfortable. Service was also friendly and very good. We liked it so much we went back for Dinner another night. Dinner is a more traditional Ala carte Menu. We had the short ribs which were excellent as were the Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes served with them. We also had the seafood bake which was also very good. Service was once again very good. Prices are reasonable for a hotel.

Crazy how a nice atmosphere can make you believe that you are in for a treat. They spent a lot of money to make this place look awesome, that they forgot to worry about making good food! I got a flatbread, and it was completely terrible. Inedible cardboard crust. I sent it back. My husband got the pork belly BLT. It was served open face and was soggy and nasty. I would never go here again based on such sub par food, when there are so many choices in SF. Hopefully they will make improvements to the quality of the food.

hung out in the lounge while waiting for our group to be ready to leave for dinner. Lots of comfy seating and good service and cocktails.

This place offers some good food and great wine. I would have enjoyed it better if it had more things on the menu. We ordered a flat bread and some soup, both of which did not disappoint us. The atmosphere is very trendy and the service is good too. The portions are not that big enough and the prices are on the higher side.

Nice atmosphere, not to busy. Drinks and light lunch were good.Staff was friendly and efficient. Televisions for games or events.

We went for lunch and absolutely loved everything that we ate! They have small plates that you can order and a great deal overall if you order 3, 4, or 5 small plates. My husband enjoyed his clam chowder, beef sliders, and mac and cheese. I loved my crab melt, tomato soup, and crab louis salad!

good service, they could have a few more cocktails to choose from, but the garlic tators tots are just amazing!

Okay, so we were there at maybe 2:00pm on a Saturday. There were four tables in use. There were three people handling those tables. There were 3 or 4 cooks working. And yet we waited almost an hour for our drinks, longer for our food, and they got lots of stuff wrong. I don't know what was up with the bar, its at the other end of the floor separate from the restaurant, but we've always had good service there. My guess is our waiter simply didn't check. The wait staff seemed to spend an inordinate amount of time talking to each other. I also saw numerous items go out and then back to the kitchen due to errors (I was facing the kitchen). Look, the ambiance is nice enough. Its convenient. Its a little expensive but I wouldn't have complained if things weren't so slow. But after an hour wait for our drinks, I got my Moscow Mule and it was so gingery I sent it back. Now, look, I'm a guy. I *never* send stuff back. And yes I've had numerous Moscow Mules and we make them at home. And yes I'm aware the Jamacan Ginger Beer is more gingery than the local kinds. Etc. But this was c-r-a-z-y gingery. My sandwich was very nice, though it had tomato though I'd asked for none. The 4-year old's grilled cheese and tomato soup were fine. And I ordered my sandwich with a salad and got fries. And the daughter was supposed to get fries but didn't. And the wife was quite fond of her Salade Nicoise. But hey, the whole thing took W-A-Y too long. Not recommended.

Best clam chowder I have ever had and I have had a lot of chowder :) Helpful waitstaff and small, cozy booths.

After an afternoon of shopping in San Francisco (and before the football game started) we stopped in for a drink and a light bite. We shared the flatbread and burger and both were exceptionally good!

A nice hotel bar with some comfortable places to sit. Very downtown and very Hyatt, a hotel bar, good wifi.

Busy restaurant for breakfast , average food quality and service. I would suggest you go out to the neighboring restaurants for breakfast if time permits.

Love this restaurant, will return next time we are in town. The food is really excellent, fresh and precisely prepared. The chef is also very nice. He came to our table to talk to my son after he told our waiter how much he liked his dish. Highly recommend.

OneUp is located in the Grad Hyatt on the Mezzanine level of the hotel. There are stairs or an elevator to get you there. Nothing wrong with the bar decent amount of seating but can get crowed given the size of the hotel. Service is just ok. Food was very average at best. There are plenty of other bars to get a drink in the Union Sq area of SF so I would recommend that if you are not a guest and don't need the bar to be in your hotel you might look around the neighborhood for another option.

this time I chose the chef recommended tomato chilli bisque with mussels, prawns, salmon. the wine was the special of the month - Forte - and was excellent. Again a very good simple meal for a single traveller

Small bar opposite the OneUp restaurant on the mezzanine level of the Grand Hyatt Union Square. Wine selection was lacking, so cocktails and beers are the way to go. Seevice was pretty sub par, bringing one water and drink at a time rather than serving the whole table at once, and seldom checked in on us thereafter. Atmosphere is just so-so, but pretty good for a hotel bar. There are better bars in the area that are more interesting, but it'll do if you want to stay put at your hotel.

Good food, but could use a more extensive menu. The prices are a bit high, but everything in SF is expensive!

We ate there once and it was very nice. The clam chowder was excellent and the service was quick and efficient. It was reasonable value for money. The breakfasts there were excellent with a very wide choice.

This restaurant is located in the Grand Hyatt in Union Square. We ate here, and I would highly recommend them for breakfast or lunch. I was not too impressed with their dinner menu. It is more of upscale hotel cafe ... and their dinner menu is limited.

We had our dinner here on 2 occasions, food was well prepared but very was expensive for the portion size. We had difficulty in getting the staff to understand that we wanted out bacon less crispy, not everyone likes their bacon to be so brittle and over cooked. The scrambled eggs were a disappointed as they too, looked over cooked.

Better than most Hotel restaurants. Also above average wine list. I had the chicken which was a little dry. My wife had a couple of small plates which were pretty good. Menu was a little limited on choices which is expected at a Hotel.

Had a drink at the bar here while waiting to head to the airport. Service was okay but felt slightly dismissive. Good variety on the menu and though it was early it had a nice ambiance

After a twenty minute wait for a table, we were finally seated. Service was a tad slow and a little quirky, but the atmosphere was comfy and the food sufficient for breakfast fare. My husband and I had egg white omelets, my GF daughter had a naked burrito and my other daughter had the buffet. No complaints about the food other than our omelets were bland and needed seasoning -- an easy fix. Certainly can't be the convenience of breakfast at your hotel!

I know they don’t call them “coffee shops” anymore. The hotel restaurant features a typical hotel breakfast bill of fare. A $34 per person buffet or an ala Carte’ menu that comes out almost the same so of course you order the buffet. The standard bill of fare; omelettes eggs meats lox fruit etc. it was good but nothing exceptional.

Had breakfast here both mornings of our stay. The Union Square breakfast was great - really good bacon and eggs cooked perfectly. My husband had the smoked salmon and bagel one morning and said it was great. The next morning he had the buffet and there was tons of really nice fresh fruit. The coffee was fantastic!

Boa, at the bar, is fantastic. We enjoyed the HH from 4-6 each day. The mojito was terrific. We also tried the chorizo flatbread and it was very tasty! (Those are half off during happy hour.) It's a bit expensive outside of HH, but a great place to unwind after walking around all day. Very convenient in the hotel! We did not have dinner at the restaurant. We ate breakfast one day and were not impressed. Hubs had the buffet and it's pretty normal - nothing exciting for $25. I had the maple bacon benedict and it was not very good. The hollandaise was like a scoop of mayo or something. It wasn't runny at all. The eggs were OK but it seemed like it had been sitting a while. It was busy and took quite a while to get our food. The staff was eager to help, it was just slow.

We loved this restaurant so much we ate here twice. Fantastic service. The best service we experienced on our travels to LA, Hawaii and San Francisco. The waiters went above and beyond to make our dining experience second to none. So happy and friendly. We would recommend the james and the giant peach cocktail, it is very sweet and lovely. My husband had the steak and it was perfectly cooked. I would recommend the wild mushroon tagliatelle, really yummy. If you order the creme brulee they melt the sugar on top at your table!

The food here was good, but wasn't anything that was super memorable. Decent value for the area. Service was good.

Food was great. Had some gluten free items on the menu. Service is good, too. Had a good wine selection.

This review is for the breakfast we had at the Oneup, not for dinner or lunch. Although pricey, we liked the breakfast they serve: the food is of high quality, everything is tasty and we would go back any time. Fruits are fresh, cheese are excellent, and the pancakes out of this world. Service was really efficience, and our waiter was really attentionate

I find the food to be fine, not good, but fine, and the service to be difficult to get. Unfortunately, for SF hotel restaurant prices neither or those is acceptable.

This place works as a bar but also good for a light meal. It's in the Hyatt and serves mostly the hotel and convention crowd. I stop here to pass time.

and got the pizza and salad. The pizza was excellent with mushroom and medium thick crust. The salad was fresh and crunchy with lettuce greens, avocado, olive slices, and seafood. The wait staff asked the kitchen for the Crab Louis salad and was able to get me the dish before the actual dinner time. They went above and beyond to please me.

They have a good buffet, but the a la carte menu is better for me personally. I had the crab omelette and I highly recommend it. Very good coffee also If you're staying here it's conveniently located one flight up from the lobby (and hence the name) :D

I went for breakfast. I ordered the french toast and some orange juice. The french toast was pretty good.

OneUp is a small hotel restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the delicious tomato soup.

No complaints here, my husband and I travel often and we love staying at Hyatt hotels. Our three night stay was perfect. The room was spacious and very clean with plenty of toiletries. Breakfast was provided and it was delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer but we had to catch a flight to Maui. Highly recommend this hotel.

Beet salad was excellent. Big portions. Great service. Works well within the confines of the hotel. Great views. Look forward to returning.

The only thing keeping me from giving this hotel 5 stars is the restaurant and bar staff. We tried to go for dinner the first night, the bar was empty yet it took nearly 25 minutes before we were served, so we wound up leaving after drinks only. The following day for breakfast, again the servers were very agnostic and clearly wanted you to use the buffet so they wouldn't have to deal with you. We finally DID wind up choosing the buffet, and the options were minimal for the price ($30 bucks a person?) and quality not great. And the last night we tried one more time for dinner, and the service was better than previously, but still just ok. Do yourself a favour and enjoy some cocktails here before heading somewhere else for dinner.

Stopped here for drinks while killing some time. It's your basic hotel bar/restaurant, not all that interesting or unique. Professional service.

Great atmosphere, excellent service and delicious imaginative food, something to suit all tastes. Wonderful local wines.

I actually found this bar by Googling best hotel bars in SF. This one definitely deserved to be on that list. It was beautifully decorated, the whole place seemed to sparkle at night, and it had a nice over all feeling to it. We sat at the bar and had great service from an older bartender. The drinks were perfect, and we also enjoyed a cheese plate to snack on. There was a guitar player who was quite good, playing to the side. I wished we had time to visit again before we left the city.

Breakfast was average and what one would expect. The dinning area is very large and voices and clattering echoed everywhere. Dinner in the private dining room was cozy and charming. Would recommend if you desire more privacy.

Very nice bar on the second floor in the Grand Hyatt. Great drinks and great service. They have live music as well.

Lounge had a cool musican who played cover songs, he was so good i had to get a better look to see if he was the real thing. Had the One-Up Burger, very good, highly recommend it if you are a burger junkie.

This restaurant had superb service. My nephew must have a gluten and dairy free meal which is hard to find in most restaurants. Our waiter far surpassed what was expected to make sure all of our needs were meet. Also, the food was good with many gluten free choices.

take the escalator from the entrance to the Hyatt itno a chic and cozy place where music is welcoming and the drinks just seem to keep flowing

We enjoyed the breakfasts at this hotel restaurant. Enough choices to keep the family happy. Had the best omlet I had ever eaten.

Had a quick dinner at OneUP. Ordered one of their pizzas (flatbed). The good was ok, noting special to write home about, but ok. On the plus side, they have a very good selection of beers, and also many local beers. Service was friendly and efficient. As for the overall rating, I end up in the middle between three and four stars, if we look at only there food, I would have ended up with three stars, but because of good service I give them four start.

We hadn't booked anywhere so this place saved us. Food was ok. Service good. Kids menu limited. Good for a hotel.

I did not have high expectations for this place but my husband and I had both a great breakfast and dinner here. Though it's small, the restaurant is very modern and chic and it also gets packed quickly so get a reservation for any meal. The cocktails we had were very tasty and I loved my teryaki salmon with forbidden coconut rice. The food was filling and felt fresh and healthy. For breakfast, they have a buffet or items you can order off a menu. We opted for the buffet and were not disappointed. It has everything from donuts, bagels, toast, pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. It is a great way to start a day in the bay, and I was able to skip lunch the breakfast was so filling. This is an easy choice for a restaurant if you're staying at the hotel, but you won't feel like you're settling.

My wife and I split an omelet and a side of bacon. The bacon we ordered crispy. The bacon was greasy like it had been sitting in a tray. The vegetarian omelet quality was good quality and a good size to split (we were not that hungry). The service was great. Coffee cost $5.00 per cup. Total bill including a 20% tip (splitting a meal - no split charge) and no other drinks was a little over $50.00. Next morning we went to Sears Fine Food right around the corner and it was a better value.

Really good restaurant and as I mentioned in the title, Frank (the waiter) made the experience brilliant. We were warmly welcomed and Frank was friendly, knowledgeable and he had a great sense of humour. He was the reason we went back again! Thanks for the great experience.

We ate here quite a bit while staying in San Francisco. The food and staff was excellent. The prices may have been a little high but that was found about everywhere in San Francisco.

I had both Breakfast, then a late Lunch, and wine, at One Up, during my recent stay at the Grand Hyatt Union Square. For Breakfast, I had the Eggs Benedict on English muffin w/ Canadian bacon and hollandaise – very traditional, but also very good. Service was quick, and attentive, for the entire meal. For the Lunch, we had just driven up from Los Gatos, and had some time, before my wife’s meetings. We stopped in for a glass of wine, but decided to split the Tuna Salad, made with cannellini beans, olives, herbs, mixed peppers (got picked out, and shoved to the side), lemon zest and garlic vinaigrette. Other than the peppers (we are just not big fans of raw peppers in most dishes), the salad was very good, as were the glasses of Gloria Ferrer sparkling and the Save Me Calling All Angles Chardonnay. The latter is done by a rock group, Train, which autographed an LP on display in the hallway – I had seen that LP, but had never really thought about it, but now know the backstory. I stopped in for a glass of wine the next day, and tried the Save Me, San Francisco Soul Sister Pinot Noir, which was not bad. The service at the bar was also very good. While the menu is a bit limited, there has always been enough to keep my interest, along with the wines. This was especially good, when it was pouring for three days! There are two dining areas, the main “dining room,” and then dining at, and around the bar. It seemed that the hours of each were offset, by just a bit, so check.

The breakfast is fabulous (worth including in your hotel stay) and the wait staff was truly delightful.

Food good and table service very nice. Expensive as we found just about all food to be in San Fransico.

Good food with a fun and friendly staff. We were a party of six and they gave us a table in a private room. Menu had a variety of meal choices. Will definitely go back!

We had just checked in...early I might say, and went to the bar for a Bloody Mary, but the bar hadn't opened yet. The bartender came around and said he wouldn't mind opening a bit early to serve us. He made the most delicious drink and was so nice. The bar was our own and very relaxing.

I stay at the Grand Hyatt when working in SF. I am usually too tired to venture out so I often go to OneUp for dinner. I love the happy hour priced flat breads and wine. For dinner their clam chowder is simply delicious... and the portions are huge!

Excellent food and service. We visited OneUp a few times during our stay at the Grand Hyatt. Will definitely make plans to return when we go back to SF!

I reviewed a bad experience at breakfast. See Hyatt not so Grand. I don't make a habit of having dinner at my hotel. The Japanese restaurant at the Grand Hyatt in Rippongi in Tokyo being one exception and the Chinese restaurant at the GH in Hong Kong being the other. But my colleague decided to order in so I ate in the hotel. In the evening, the restaurant was a little empty but the staff were welcoming. Val, my server was a little special. He brought me my wine by the glass to taste, not usual and a very nice touch. It so happened that the open bottle had oxidized and he immediately offered a fresh bottle which was just great. The menu is playful as indicated by the slogan, "Save water, drink wine". What's not to love about that? I had the crab cakes which I could see in the open kitchen were freshly made. The crab may not have been fresh as the season here was delayed, but there was none of the wateriness you get when crab is frozen, an experience I have had in many a famous "Crab Restaurants". The crisp slaw was freshly made and had none of the thick gooey mayonnaise that slaw sometimes acquires when it sits in when made hours in advance. The other waiters were also very attentive being concerned I had no bread and wasn't drinking my water. I explained I was following the menu suggestion about not drinking it, '-) drinking wine instead and that I didn't want bread. I respected they didn't waste food by thumping it down as many restaurant servers do. My Pork Tenderloin was delicious and cooked ever so slightly pink as good chefs do with Pork that really shouldn't be rare. The accompanying grits with green chillis could have been spicier for me. When I said goodnight I did apologize to the manager who had borne the brunt of my annoyance the previous morning as it was no fault of hers that the breakfast managers were unprofessional. I would recommend eating in at this restaurant.

Visited the restaurant for breakfast more than once during my stay at the hotel...good service, delectable spread, nice ambience....

We had the breakfast buffet one morning as part of our rate package. We didn't technically pay for it, but for $25 I'd think this would be a reasonable rate for a nice hotel breakfast in downtown San Francisco. Great spread of eggs, bacon, sausage, potato hash, fruit, pastries, toast, oatmeal, yogurt, cereals, etc. Also the serve staff is very friendly and ours in particular (sorry we didn't get his name) went above and beyond with some fussiness regarding the bill and needing to split/how things were paid for, etc.

We decided to stop in for a light breakfast and ended up with full breakfast two days! Delicious pancakes and omelets. Our waiter, Phat, even remembered our choices for teas and coffees the second morning we were there.

Friendly staff, decent menu, good wine. Nothing fancy, probably not a place you'd seek out if you're not staying at the hotel but it's a great choice for a good meal if you're not interested in battling the crowds on the SF streets.

Smart and laid back place, nice for an early evening drink, not loud or pushy atmosphere. Drinks are pricey but everything is !

My husband and I have stayed at the Grand Hyatt several times over the past 10 years. We always enjoyed the lounge on the 36th floor and we're somewhat disappointed when we found it had moved downstairs to the mezzanine level. To our pleasant surprise the One Up lounge did not let us down. The cocktail waitresses Linda and Tan were very attentive and dismissed any reservations we may have had. The fact that they had live entertainment was an added plus. An attractive lounge for sure. Just kinda miss a cool view up top.

An excellent hotel restaurant. A very open but yet warm and comfortable atmosphere. Excellent service but a bit pricey, especially the breakfast, but it is downtown San Francisco so that's to be expectedly! Had dinner and breakfast twice. The cioppino was well prepared with generous portions of seafood. The Dungeness crab, asparagus and Brie omelette was light and fluffy with plenty of crab.

I arrived early for check-in and went to grab a snack and drink in the Lounge. Quiet place, with comfortable seating. Easy to get some work done while waiting on my room.

food was excellent every time and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. quality of food was high and was beyond my expectation. priceworthy.

Great personable service, a decent menu with a variety of tasty food, delicious cocktails and nice beers. All for very reasonable prices.

The menu is fairly limited but offers a variety of dishes for all palates. The staff are very helpful and friendly!

Ate here twice and both experiences were very good. Great food, great beer and wine, good choice on the menu. Staff were very attentive and nice, even when we turned up just before closing time.

Dinner at OneUp mainly because we were staying at the Grand Hyatt and had a $50 F&B credit To use. Turned out to be a good choice as it's a really nice restaurant in both dining environment and food quality. The mid sized dining room has two person banquettes by the window, most others tables set at angles with good spacing, contemporary and pleasing decor. Across the elevator hall is the bar area, also very attractive, with a broad tall liquor shelf against a large window so the light shines through all the bottles. Service good, very friendly waitstaff. Had a Caesar salad with kale, good dressing and just the right amount. The burger was tasty, with very crispy tater tots, so was the chorizo flatbread, flavorful, colorful and appetizing. Finished up with the lemon panna cotta. Total came to $75 before tip even though we didn't order the more expensive dishes on the menu, but this is pretty much the going price for comparable restaurants in this area. So a worthy place to keep in mind for future visits to the city even if we are not staying at the hotel.

My husband and I had a lovely breakfast at the OneUp Restaurant and Lounge during our all-too-brief stay in San Francisco … and it was good. We both had two scrambled eggs and bacon, I had the breakfast potatoes, and my husband had the fruit cup, sourdough toast, coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. It wasn’t anything to get all excited about. Just good. The service, however, was exceptional, and the atmosphere was pretty cool. I’d be tempted to go back for dinner at some point and see if anything on that menu stands out.

Enjoyed a visit here. Service was great and they had my favorite Makers 46 in stock! The bar area is fairly small so grab a seat if you see one!

We had really nice lunch here. The crab melt was most excellent. My husband enjoyed his chicken salad as well. Excellent service. I would return.

The OneUp restaurant/Cafe/ Bar is a wonderful place to eat, drink and be with or meet friends. The food is always fresh and delicious, the drinks well made and the atmosphere friendly. It’s both adult and kiddo friendly. Their small plates lunch is particularly good. We love to end an evening in SF in the OneUp Bar. It’s cozy, has great food and expertly mixed drinks.

Ate breakfast and lunch here on our stay. Fantastic, tasty food, great selection and not at all overpriced. Well worth a visit if you're staying (and even if you're not!)

I really wanted to give this restaurant 4 stars but it let us down a bit on the night, so it loses one. It's got a lot to offer. The space is modern and attractive, and the menu looks good - nice range of modern cuisine, with some interesting twists, and the prices are pretty reasonable. We had a couple of dishes that were particularly good - the burger was delish with an amazing bacon jam; and we also had a pork belly dish with some cucumber salad that was unusual and tasty. A couple of other choices were ok but didn't quite work as well as the description promised A Seafood Louie turned out to be a salad (this was not really obvious from the description on the menu) that was fine but nothing special; and a Seafood Bake which was a collection of ingredients like seafood, chorizo sausage and a baked lemon that didn't really meld together to form a whole dish. What really let our evening down though was the service which was patchy to say the least. The waiter was quite frankly bizarre, and outright insulted one of my companions by a remark about her size (which was clearly not meant nastily but a massive error on his part), and then proceeded to put the wrong pork dish order into the kitchen. There was also a side dish that looked like it was forgotten until we prompted for it. I'd probably be tempted to give it another go. Just might avoid that waiter!

Looking for a restaurant with tasteful meals in a modern atmosphere? That's the place. Union Square are is plenty of restaurants, but most of them do not have an attractive appeal. OneUp can be an alternative.

Good menu selection for both breakfast and dinner. Nice assortment and variety of food. Very convenient for people staying at Grand Hyatt. Never too busy or crowded.

We went for dinner, I can said the service was awesome, but the food was not so good, we ordered clam chowder soup and they didn't had any bread bowl anymore, we were like ...???? But, well we didn't want to go out , so we decided to stay at the hotel and this one was our only option

We stayed at the Hyatt for a business trip and had breakfast. The hotel offers a simple free breakfast on the main floor, but we opted to eat at the restaurant on the second floor. The breakfast buffet looked and smelled incredible. It was a bit more than I wanted so I went with the granola and yogurt. Very good, good strong coffee to boot.

This restaurant is one flight up from the lobby of the Grand Hyatt on Stockton (hence the name OneUp). I don't typically go for buffets but their breakfast buffet was to die for. There were three types of scrambled eggs to choose from. There were fresh fruits and homemade yogurt. There were various types of rolls and pastries. The staff is attentive and efficient. Great place for breakfast. I didn't eat other meals there but I ate breakfast there daily for three days. Yep! I loved it!

To start the server Frank was awesome, very attentive and happy. We ordered a couple salmon meals and a seafood bake. The food was amazing. We ordered old fashion drinks which were also made to perfection. You get what you pay for when you to this restaurant. Will be back whenever I'm in the city.

Maybe it just wasn't busy enough but despite loving the Grand Hyatt Hotel where OneUp is located we found the bar disappointing and uninviting. Despite not being busy, the service was slow and the waiter seemed somewhat bored. No 'ice crusher' so they were unable to offer a Piña Colada. All in all we would be unlikely to come back

We visited this bar on a couple of occasions whilst staying at the Grand Hyatt for the final 5 days of our East to West Coast trip of America from the UK. The staff were attentive and friendly, and after our wonderful city tour we had a very pleasant couple of vodka martinis (shaken not stirred!), in the OneUp Lounge. Thanks Zak and Mitch, another two great members of staff here at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco.

Experience not far from catastrophic. Cocktail really not worth the price ($18!!! + tip of course), it looked like a simple mixture of strong alcohol and fruit juice. My husband ordered a gin and tonic…. Also not great, the tonic was out of gas, all without much interest apart from the price. The food was also mediocre. Instead of the seasonal vegetables ordered I received a simple green salad. And a flat bread that looked like a frozen pizza. My husband ordered the smashed burger which also looked like a frozen burger. We wondered if there was a cook or even a bartender that evening in the establishment…. Even though it was a Friday evening! In short, a sad experience for a Friday evening in SF. Note, however, the kindness of the waiter, who seemed very disillusioned when we shared our impressions of the experience with him....

Wonderful breakfast with good variety of eggs, sausage/bacon, and fruits. The service is good. Try to avoid 8-9 am?

So it borders on a bit "airport bar" style, being contemporary yet stylish. Phil our bartender was awesome telling us about all the great off the grid stuff to do around town which was super helpful. The other slightly weird thing was that we went for happy hour at half price but it only applies to beer and wine, which they tell you after you get your bill and when you didn't order that. Martini was decent. The whole atmosphere is relaxed kinda an after work thing. For me I like a more old school place but I can't take away marks for that. All in good job and we really liked our bartender.

I paid $30 for chicken and veggies and an iced tea. AND IT WAS AWFUL. The chicken tasted like I had been on an airplane and got a boxed meal. Terrible food.

Wow! We were blown away by this restaurant. It was a very lucky guess as we weren't staying at this hotel. The food was outstanding though and great wine too. Would definitely recommend

Good menu as well as buffet to choose from and the staff will help you with anything. Food was tasty, no issues there at all. Can also swap the potatoes for fruit if you like when ordering from the menu, the fruit was lovely.

Really fresh food and a really nice bartender Jaime from Peru! Just sit back and relax! Order the crab and the burger One Up!

I always eat breakfast here when I stay and I also invite clients to join me because the food is always delicious. I look forward to eating here.

OneUP is on the mezzanine level of the Grand Hyatt on Stockton St. I stopped in for lunch since I am staying at the Hyatt. The menu offers assorted small plates 3 for $16, 4 for $21, etc. I ordered the 3 plates- seafood Louie salad, double beef sliders and grilled cheese. The salad had shrimp, crab and more, the sliders were juicy and delicious with a lil kick from the sirracha ketchup. The grilled cheese was white cheddar and provolone on sourdough. All 3 I would order again. Can't wait to try their room service.

Stayed in the Grand Hyatt, and tried breakfast and dinner. The restaurant at breakfast is not large enough to cater for guests necessitating waiting for others to finish to make space. The toast with eggs, mushy and horrible. For dining in the evening, no ambience for a restaurant in this quality level hotel. Of course in San Francisco, many alternative options for dining offered by the concierge.

i have stayed in a lot of sf hotels and hotels around the country and world- the bartender at the hotel named philip was able to make this experience one of the worst i have had in all my travels- unfortunately i would give the hotel low marks because of this rudeness

My family and i came for the lunch and glad we did. For $16 you get to choose, from a wide variety, 3 different items. I had the tomato bisque soup, which was very flavorful. The house made chips are very good too. My kids loved theirs as well. The wait staff was very friendly and provided us with some great service.

After weekly travel I'll tuned out most hotel restaurants... especially for breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised by OneUp. Top notch service! Very good breakfast spread with plenty of health options. Very good coffee. Well done OneUp.

Met for wine and appetizers and had a great time. High ceilings make for a loud buzz without interfering in humorous or serious conversation. Very high quality ingredients in traditional but updated menu fair without any pretentious experimental foods.

This restaurant has excellent food. We ate mostly breakfast here, but we did have one afternoon meal here. The staff are all great from the host or hostess to all the wait staff. Very friendly and waiting to help you with anything you may need. Everything we ordered was very very good. Especially the blueberry pancakes!! Prices are in line with all the other restaurants in town.

Getting a table in San Francisco is a nightmare. Pretty much everywhere is either "we aren't taking reservations" or "it will be a 45 minute wait". Well here we were seated immediately. The server was extremely friendly and attentive and our meal was very good. I especially enjoyed the clam chowder which was probably tied for the best I have ever eaten. I also like their bar which is on the opposite side of the floor. Again, attentive service and strong drinks. If I ever come back to San Fran I would definitely eat here again.

Very good for a coffee shop with an incredible wine cellar and a well stocked bar. While well below a fine dining facility, OneUp offers very good food, properly prepared, promptly served, and adequately proportioned.

Enjoyed spending a few hours here each night while I stayed in the hotel - the bartenders are friendly and live music makes the place almost swanky. Good vibe and drinks!

The quality is passable and decent but far from refined. The service was rather haphazard and we had to wait a while to be served and orders were mixed up. We were a large party but this is not particularly an excuse. The food was fine but underwhelming. The bar scene is hopping.

We were staying in the hotel so decided to have lunch here one day, mostly for convenience. But what we discovered is that the food was excellent and the staff super friendly and talkative. The lunch option of picking between 2 and 5 items for your tray worked well for us and our waiter even through in a couple of extras. It was a tasty and fun lunch, just wish we had given it a try earlier in the week!

Great spot for a drink in the Grand Hyatt. Very good service, great bartenders and bar food. Prices are a bit high, typical for hotel bars. Very Good!

Grand Hyatt San Francisco is an address in itself! Located bang on Union Square, this 20 something story hotel is undoubtedly San Francisco's finest! The One Up lounge perfectly complements the ambiance of the hotel with its collection of wines and delicacies!

While convenient if you are staying in the hotel, I would not go out of my way to go to this place. There are too many other great choices within walking distance. Cocktail and wine menu is limited and the service was poor.

We were staying at the Grand Hyatt and ate here twice during our stay. LOVED the mac n cheese!!! Also enjoyed the small bowl of clam chowder they offered. The breakfast buffet was good, as well. I believe it was 32.00, and the waiter had our omelette cooked ahead of time so we didn't have to wait in the line, very thoughtful!! (and worth a nice tip!) .

OneUp is located in the SF Grand Hyatt. The food at OneUp is first class! Great breakfast, breakfast buffet, lunch, and dinner options. The restaurant also caters to dietary restrictions for those who are Gluten Intolerant/Free 👍🏾. The staff is attentivene and very helpful. If in Union Square and or staying at the Grand Hyatt, OneUp will not disappoint!!!

Nice atmosphere. Pleasant ambience. I was absolutely determined to try authentic San Francisco Cioppino while in the city itself. I am not completely sure how authentic this version was but it was very good. Lots of fish in a tomato-y, saffron tinted sauce. I'll need to try it somewhere else to have a comparison, but I wasn't in any way dissatisfied. I then broke my cardinal rule and ordered dessert. Caramelized apple pie with honey cream. Also delicious although the pie crust could have been a bit flakier/crisper. All round a solid 4 stars.

We had breadfast and dinner and even drank some in the bar and we felt as we were queens and kings, the treatment was excellent

Just good service from the bar team. Especially at happy hour! Had drinks for a couple of nights here. Fast and curtious bartenders.

The restaurant has a central location, it is a smallish place and has quite simple decoration. The price is the average level around - starters around 10-15 USD and main courses around 20-30 USD. Some starters excellent, for example, spicy crab cake with long after taste. Some main courses good to average such as seafood bake (plenty of stuff but lack of inspiration and excitement).and pork belly (needs more time to become properly tender). A glas of Chardonnay around 10-16 USD - the most expensive is the best. The Lounge is a better option (much nicer interior) if you take only small food. Very good quality of coctails. Strange is that they have only one bathroom so prepare yourself for potential queues.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt and ate here at the restaurant inside the hotel. We had a delicious breakfast. I had the eggs benedict and their breakfast potatoes and they were very good. One of our party had the breakfast buffet and said it was also very good. We also ate supper there one night. I had their hamburger and it was very tasty with their tator tots. I would definitely recommend.

I dropped in for a drink and a flat bread pizza dish while staying here for business. The pizza was actually better than I had expected and the cocktail I had (old fashioned) was made with care. For both items the bill was around $35 so a tad on the pricier side but what you would expect for a hotel bar.

Unfortunately, our service this evening was decidedly second-rate to a point that we didn't tip at all (even though we found it embarrassing). As well as not being asked for a drinks order on being seated (this took three visits from our waiter), we were not provided with bread (as other tables were) and our waiter took my wife's plate of food off the table to show another guest (the final straw!). This is not reflection of the hotel, where we've been treated very well on our honeymoon, but I wouldn't recommend eating here

As the name of the restaurant suggests .. it's on the first floor accessible by lift and stairs .. nice ambience .. we used it for breakfast and later .. good, welcoming staff .. good food .. enjoy.

Food and service was good, despite it being a very busy holiday weekend. Nice bar facilities and bartenders. Prices are high, but typical for a San Francisco high end restaurant/bar.

We had two meals here during our stay - lunch and dinner. All courses were done very well, and the wait staff were friendly and helpful. On both occasions, I asked for a variation from the printed menu and they courteously provided them. Atmoshphere is very pleasant. The salmon entree at dinner and the pork sandwich at lunch were especially good.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco Grand Club on our recent tour of America from the UK and I can only comment on the breakfast we had in this restaurant. We normally had breakfast in the Grand Club Lounge but thought we would have a change one morning and ate here. I can certainly say you would not go hungry, there was plenty on offer on the menu and a very well stocked and inviting breakfast buffet. “Freshly squeezed” orange juice and coffee were offered every time our glass or cup got low. No other orange juice tastes quite like freshly squeezed in California! We both chose the 3 filling omelette, which was presented well and served in a timely manner, and did certainly set us up for the day. Happy to recommend, as we had a very pleasant experience in the OneUp Restaurant.

I'd read about OneUP Bar in a number of online recommendations so wanted to check it out as my hotel was just around the corner. It is part of the Grand Hyatt and has its own sloping entrance from the lobby. The space is very cool with some impressive art and decor as well as being light and airy. Service was very good and my Bombay Saphire dry martini was superb. The pours are very generous and my wife could hardly finish her sauvignon blanc. This was definitely my favourite bar and certainly preferable to the Clock Bar at the Westin, which is darker and more casual, with which it is often compared in the Union Square area.

I had to work late at an event and decided to have a light dinner and glass of wine here since it was close to my hotel and one of the few places still open serving food. The bar tenders were very social and took the time to discuss San Francisco history as well as the specific neighborhood as I dined at the bar. For me, this makes them "one up" the competition- pun intended. :) Crab cakes were fresh & delicious as well as the Cab wine I had. I will definitely return to One Up on my next trip to San Francisco!

We had a late, light dinner here after arriving in SF. Service seemed slow. The menu was limited. The food was mostly good. Feels more like a bar than a restaurant. It seems strange the hotel does not have more dining options.

Breakfasts are good with a lots of choices and fresh fruits. This restaurant is good for dinner as well. Food are fresh and tasty.

Stopped in for a somewhat early dinner in the bar section of OneUP. It is a little pricey here but the quality of the food was excellent, and the atmosphere is quite classy, with attentive staff.

We had lunch at the hotel restaurant at the Grand Hyatt. We had a turkey patty melt and tomato soup. The soup was superb! The second entree was the burger on a brioche bun with French fries. The burger was good but I didn't care for the bacon jam which was a condiment on the burger. The soup would bring me back for a return visit to the restaurant. With the two large beers and one iced tea the total was $59.81 before tip. Good in house restaurant for the Grand Hyatt Union Square. Great wait staff providing attentive service.

No wait on a Sunday to get our table, other than time to clean it - so that was nice! We had a fantastic buffet breakfast here. Being located in the Hyatt, where we stayed, made this very convenient and one of the girls in our group is a big eater ;), so it was nice to have a buffet option for her!! Good service and great quality selection on the breakfast. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but it was convenient and tasty.

This was a typical hotel restaurant and bar. The ambience resembled a cafeteria. Nothing spectacular, but passable food.

Tan and Jaime were terrific. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and the drinks were top notch. It was a great experience, each day that we went.

This hotel restaurant is inferior to others in the same area. Very small seating, food is not up to quality for a Hyatt, the buffet is sub-par as compared to other hotels in the area. I ordered off the menu 1 morning instead of their buffet and it was way better. The scrambled eggs were freshly made and tasted like eggs, the bacon was made fresh instead of sitting under heat lamps, my commendation is to order off the menu instead of their buffet because for one, it's cheaper, the food is made to order and fresher, and most important-taste better! The staff is 5 star service though.

Good food, The chef cooks a great steak. Food well presented. Friendly waiting staff. Relax atmostphere. Quick service

Beautiful décor, awesome location, average appetizers, expensive drinks and poor service. We loved the layout of this bar/restaurant. Unfortunately, the service lacked.

music Tuesday - Sunday in the bar - nice guitar player with a good voice on a Thursday. I had a glass of wine - nice decor - incredibly great staff - would be a 5 star review but only 1 bathroom on this level and unisex - tends to have a line

We wanted to try the bar at the top of this hotel, but it was closed. So we ended up at this bar on the MZ level of the Grand Hyatt. I had a farm to table gin and tonic which was nothing to write home about.

but expensive. Stayed in hotel so used bar for drinks and breakfast. Maybe not too expensive for what it is but we had just arrived and were v tired. Most staff good.

Just had a great lunch at One_Up restaurant, on the Grand Hyatt's mezzanin. Perfect service, really good food (and I'm very picky) and low prices. I'll be back for sure.

Enjoyed the One up burger and Seafood Louie . Niece really liked the Oven Roasted King Salmon.. Friendly servers and even plugged my Iphone to make it work .

Had late night meal. Sandwiches were very good especially the Reuben. Wines and beers were also good and reasonably priced. Service was excellent!

We were staying at a hotel across the street and stopped by here after dinner two nights we stayed in San Francisco. The first night it was crowded but seemed to be many people from a convention. No big deal, we got 2 rounds of drinks. Service was a bit slow but not terrible. I ordered a Mojito and it was not quite right, but it tasted ok. The next night we thought we'd stop in again and it was later so we hoped to miss the crowds. They must not have enough servers here because the place was over 1/2 empty and we could not find our waiter for at least 15 minutes. We had 1 round of drinks, I had a mojito again and this time it was not good. The mint was not muddled at all and did not taste like a mojito. Then our waiter disappeared. When he finally arrived, we asked for our check immediately. This bar has potential but the lack of service and inability to make a basic drink makes it one to avoid.

Proud to say that the staff and the chef and the food has always been consistent and excellent. We have eaten here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Jackie and George at breakfast are awesome and provide outstanding service. Can't say enough great things. I've referred other friends and colleagues here all the time. Perfect location, 2nd floor of Grand Hyatt in union square.

I wanted a quick but delicious lunch so I stop in at OneUP. Lunch is tapas style. One can choose from three, four, or five dish combinations that you create from the menu choices. I choose the grilled cheese, tomato soup and fennel fronds roasted beet salad. It was the perfect combination and the small portions were absolutely satisfying. It's atmosphere is modern but warm. The service was impeccable. The reason I gave it a four is because the chairs were uncomfortable and the "one" bathroom which was for man/woman had a bad smell. And to have to use the lobby restroom you would have walk down a long flight of stairs or take an elevator to the hotel lobby.

Okay, maybe the Park Hyatt in Chicago was better, but the price tag was completely different. Hotels.com package had 2 breakfasts included with room and internet - not just a continental, but ala carte or full buffet. Dungeness Crab omelette is not to be missed.

I returned to the OneUp as I am again staying at the Grand Hyatt. This time I enjoyed the Seafood Bake - very good but they should serve it on a bigger plate! It was hard to negotiate the components in the cramped space provided. Disappointed in the bread served prior though. Flaccid, bland and horrible crust. They should invest more in the bread - the olive oil and balsamic was delicious but i lost interest in dipping after a couple of bites of bread

Food was terrific, and the service was very good. As you might expect with any restaurant in an upscale hotel, it was on the pricier end of the scale, but not outrageous. The restaurant itself is modern/contemporary, with a quiet sophisticated vibe. Overall, a very good experience.

The OneUP lounge at the Hyatt is an attractive spot to enjoy an adult beverage and some tasty eats. Appetizers are big enough to make a meal out of. The tater tots are particularly good.

I had drinks and snacks at the OneUp Lounge several evenings during my stay at the hotel. Very nice, relaxing spot with a good menu of snacks, entrees and desserts. Good beer and wine selection. Linda was my server and took great care of me - always attentive and friendly but letting me relax. I really looked forward to unwinding here before heading to my room.

For lunch they have a mix/match menu which offers many option sand combinations. Crab cakes at dinner - though minis there are three were excellent too.

The restaurant is lovely and the service was good. Just thought the food was a little bland. We had pasta and steak maybe we picked the wrong dishes.

Best damn Moscow Mule I've ever had. The service is great, prices are normal for SF. The seating can get a little tight, especially for large groups. Attentive and friendly staff.

Average food on the second level of the Hyatt. The fettucini with red meat sauce over a bed of ricotta was average, generous portion, but not hot enough. Service was a bit slow in getting food from the open kitchen to the table considering there weren’t that many people in the restaurant. Average wine list, fairly priced.

We had breakfast here during our stay at the Grand Hyatt. The food was slightly above average but the price for this fare was excessive. No omelettes, special orders of anything, and limited bread/pastry choices. The service was good and the food appeared fresh. When I checked out the personnel at the front desk gave us a break on the price. Look the choices over before partaking. There are many places serving breakfast close by.
Very satisfied.
Located inside the hotel where I stayed, so convenience couldn't be beat. Staff were great, food was tasty and prompt.
