This ramen is worth flying across the country for. I could eat it every day. The broth was so flavorful and complex, the eggs were perfect, the garlic was spot on. Please try this place, you will not be disappointed.

Delicious ramen.

Pay attention to the spice scale. We had a one out of four and it was perfect. I am not into nuclear hot so for me anything over the one would be too hot. Good sized portions. Order was ready quickly.

Loved the Mala ramen which

Loved the Mala ramen which is the spicy version. Heat is graded from 1 (least) to 4 (hottest) - only tried 1 and that was just suited to my palate.

Decent ramen with great service

By Mack M |

We visited after 8pm on a Saturday evening and found the place steady. We were warmly greeted upon entering and picked a table right near the window. I had the Shoyu Ramen and a small order of the Spicy Mapo Tofu. It wasn't the best bowl of ramen I've ever had, mainly because of the broth which I found to be a bit muddled, but it wasn't bad either. The mapo tofu was very tasty. Service was great throughout!

Irasshaimase!

When you enter Ooink you will be properly greeted - this is important at a Japanese restaurant because how they greet you, whether in English or Japanese, is an indication of the effort they will put into your service and food. Excellent, lovingly prepared foods here. Clearly, this is a ramen stand and ramen is the star - but everything on the menu is yummy. Hot chicken wings and gyoza are also fantastic. Shio ramen - my go-to flavor - was soul satisfying. The tamago (egg) in the ramen was fantastic - marinated to give it strong flavor and perfectly cooked to a soft, gel-like medium done-ness. Service is friendly, quick and knowledgeable. The chef came out and explained subtle elements of the dishes - which only made it more delicious.

A must for ramen lovers!

Yep. You're gonna want to dive into some of this. Very, very tasty ramen! This might not be the preference for some people, but they leave their noodles a bit more al dente than most ramen shops... I LOVE it that way, because for slow eaters like me it means you get to enjoy the noodles at just the right softness without rushing. Overcooked ramen can really ruin an otherwise amazing bowl. The pork here was among the best I've ever had - -and I've eaten my way through Japan one bowl of ramen at a time! It's just a little bit thicker cut / more generous than is typical. It's so, so well flavored and absolutely falls apart in your mouth, it's so tender. The scallions and other add-ons were all super fresh and high quality. The only thing I didn't love is that the egg half in the ramen was cooked pretty soft; the yolk was not quite solid. This is very much a personal preference thing and I don't always eat the egg even when it's very hard boiled all the way through so it didn't matter to me. Service was awesome - friendly but not too chatty and super efficient. Oh and it's an automatic 12% gratuity- kind of a bummer because I'd have tipped them much more if the check let you add your own tip. I'd definitely come back!!

Tummy Yummy ramen and ultimate crispy chicken sandwich

By Zipster16 |

The owner says they've been in business for 6 years but it took that long for me to discover this place. Oh my, what a find. Small, unpretentious and somewhat hidden away in a corner above the QFC grocery. The ramen noodle machine is installed in the front window and noodles were being made when we arrived. A peek in the kitchen revealed giant vats of broth being stewed. We were warned there would be temporary kitchen noise while the spices for the mala were being ground. A lot of work, they said. We had the chicken sandwich and, not knowing what "numbing" hotness meant, one of the mild ramen bowls. The pickled cucumber draped over top of the ultra crispy chicken was the perfect balance to the spices. The crispy coating was dark and I worried that the chicken would be dry, but surprised when juices ran down my hand on the first bite. Wow! The ramen was pure comfort food. The owner recommended the Mala ... and we will be back soon to try that, too. p.s. The menu says there are vegan and vegetarian options. Also, cook-at-home kits.

Ramen to Go

By suckmykiss55 |

Heard about this place and took a flight to Seattle just to eat here. I decided to hop in a cab and ordered food to go. Walked a mile down the hill to my hotel with 2 bags of food for my family. Was it worth it? Heck yes. We cannot get this quality of Ramen in North Carolina. The pork was sublime. Sweet and Savory and Smokey. No idea how they accomplished that flavor. Truly unique. Noodles cooked al dente. Perfect for eating with chopsticks and slurping the broth. Gyoza was best I have ever had. Loved the rice and tofu as well. We all ate everything in both bags. Not cheap to eat here but it looked like they had a team of cooks doing all that food prep. Freshness and quality matter to me so the price was worth it. 2 Oinks up!

Only ramen you need in Seattle

This whole in the wall location with owners there everyday ensuring quality is at its highest everyday. The pork is the most tender and flavorful out of any of the ramen shops in Seattle. Seating is limited but wait is short.

Great Asian Ramen flavors in Emeral City

By GKK |

A favorite place for a great Asian meal with great gyoza, fusion Asian chicken, mabo tofu and ramen that is a must to try.

DELISH!

By misopiso88 |

Six of us were in Seattle for dinner so decided to try Ooink. The place is tiny so we ended up splitting up into two tables of three. Service was fast and food was DELISH! We ordered ramen and also both appetizers. Highly recommend if you are looking for a fun, fast, delicious meal option.

Hidden Gem

Amazingly creative take on Ramen, but much more. Try the malayiasn fried chicken appetizer and fresh gyoza. Very reasonably priced for such quality and serving size.

Wanting More

By Dominic D |

A quick and small ramen shop with limited seating. Turnover is quick, so waits aren’t long, but I would recommend others over this place. Also note that the food left stomach pains for both of us the next day, which is unusual for us. We ordered a noodle and chicken appetizer (new dish), shoyu ramen and spicy kotteri ramen. It is spicy, even at 3/4! The appetizer was bland and contained bacon bits of meat. The ramens were decent and on the richer side, but wasn’t as satisfying as desired. Meat quality was decent.

Worth the wait - ramen

By Monica R |

This delicious new ramen joint didn't disappoint. Kind, competent staff usher you in with out making you feel rushed. Ramen lovers, while as not as creamy and rich as your favorite Tokyo's pork broth it doesn't disappoint. Awesome pork chasu and perfectly runny soft boiled eggs. There is a vegetarian miso based broth with corn butter and vegetables. Tip: add the umami chile oil for $2. Gyoza was delicious, and an excellent Japanese beer. The chef welcomes you like you are a guest in his house. We can't wait to go back.

Great ramen spot

By Patricia B |

Small sized place delivering outsized flavored ramen. My husband and I could barely finish the generous portions. Luscious and spicy soup and noodles on an early spring afternoon made up,a bit, for another damp Seattle day.

Awesome Experience

Small, upbeat restaurant with a simple, but flavorful menu. Great balance of flavors. We had the fried chicken appetizers and ramen. Good amount of spice. Fun atmosphere! I would highly recommend Ooink!

Great little find

By Barbranda W |

Our family of 5 was looking for a place for a quick bite before attending a play at the Broadway Performance Center and came upon Ooink. I was craving ramen and this place hit the spot. I had the shoyu ramen and it was absolutely delicious! Service was quick and friendly. The place is very small but cozy. I highly recommend!

Delicious ramen!

By Wendy W |

We got the kotteri ramen and the mala kotteri ramen level 1. Both were delicious, the spice in the mala definitely added an earthiness to the broth. The pork was tender and the egg was perfectly jammy. Loved how the fried garlic and scallions were on the sides so you could mix it to your personal preference.

Amazing!

My husband and I stumbled upon this place and we couldn’t believe our luck! The best vegetarian ramen I’ve ever had (I ordered the spicy version) and my husband has been raving about his ramen ever since we went. The owner is passionate about his craft and was trading time between directing in the kitchen and checking in on guests in the front. I highly recommend this place!

One of the best bowls of ramen I've ever had

By LaureninAspen |

We got the spicy Kotteri ramen. It was a silky, luscious broth packed with a garlic punch, yet delicately balanced with the spice (a housemade chili concoction with oh so much flavor and the perfect amount of heat). The pork was tender, the soft egg added even more richness to the fatty brother, yet it wasn't overpowering richness. We slurped away, enjoying the perfect noodles that helped us shovel in the broth and toppings. I am still dreaming about it a week later. This place is legit, and the owner is as enthusiastic and passionate a chef as you'll find. He was prepping for a trip to China "for research," he told us. In other words, he's going there to eat. He named an obscure city/town/village there that I cannot recall and had never heard of, but it'll be interesting to try his restaurant again when he returns to see what that research inspires him to do next. Eat here! It's delightful.

A MUST PLACE FOR RAMEN

Fantastic food and service

By SimeyTravels |

We're tourists, so it took us a minute to find the restaurant. (If you're keeping track, it's upstairs in the shopping complex.) We were able to grab a table right when we arrived, which was fortunate because it got very crowded two minutes after we sat down. The place is tiny - I feel like the kitchen is bigger than the dining room, but given their popularity, it makes sense. I decided to order the Kotteri ramen, and my husband got the spicy Kotteri (extra spicy, of course). The ramen was delicious, and it came out quickly. The broth had a deep, rich flavor that was perfectly complemented by the pork and the black garlic oil. The shoyu egg was perfectly cooked, as well. We enjoyed everything about this stop - which ended up being our last stop of the day while in the city. The service was top-notch, the food was delightful and the restaurant itself was cozy and comfortable. They even have aprons to loan you, if you're worried about broth splashing all over your top!

ramen to kill for

By dennisgm |

there are ramen bars i've tried, some of which are good to great but nothing prepared me for the ramen in OOINK in Seattle. such sublime broth, i tried the ramen with black garlic and the pork loin. the spring onions were added and all in all, a harmonious blend of broth, noodles and pork, not to mention the aroma of freshly made ramen. would recommend this place in a heartbeat, and if you're craving for some hot ramen on a rainy day in seattle, only one place to go.

Great for a rainy day

One of the better bowls of Ramen I have had outside of Japan. Cozy place (small) but with a great staff. The broth was delicious and didn’t disappoint.

Yummy Global Neighborhood Ramen

By Zuccakl |

Tiny Capital Hill Ramen joint packs a yummy punch. Perfectly al dente Gyoza with tender pork and scallions with just enough crunch. Delicious spicy vegetarian ramen chocked full of woodsy mushrooms and fresh dark greens. House made spices with deep flavor and fire. Great service. A diverse clientele and kitchen staff made for a neighborly vibe. Crisp decor.

Delicious Ramen

This place is delicious ! Use caution with the spice level, they don’t mess around. Lots of flavor. Service was quick and friendly. This restaurant is small and cute. They do include gratuity of 12% automatically. Not ideal for large parties.

One of the best

By Foodtwosome |

Not hard to find good ramen in Seattle. Even finding great ramen is possible. But this little modern hole in the wall surprised us. While those around us slurped noodles, we order mapo dofu, a classic Sichuan dish, and the two appetizers on the menu, pan fried dumplings and fried chicken wings. Too much food for the two of us, but we ate every bite. Mapo dofu was an unusual presentation with a topping of fried soba noodles as well as slivered greens. Just spicey enough with bits of pork & exceptionally good tofu. Chef explained how to eat the dish (crumbled crisp noodles so you get some with each bite of rice, pork & tofu) and where he sourced the tofu (Northwest tofu on Jackson). Dumplings were perfect blend of pork, ginger, green onion & garlic. Fried chicken wings were only the meaty first joint portion, seasoned with chili and a light crust, topped with fried curry leaves and slivered lemongrass. We expected two or three for the $7 price, but ate all six. They had just a little kick, just enough. Gonna have to come back for the ramen, but will be hard to pass up chicken, dumplings & tofu. Maybe we'll order the mapo dofu ramem. By the way, they make sharing easy by providing small bowls upon request.

Amazing ramen with bouncy noodles!

By jennyma9 |

Ooink is probably my favourite ramen place in Seattle, though many of my friends prefer Ramen Danbo. I love their chewy, bouncy noodles - they’re on the skinny side and soak up the broth perfectly. Their chashu pork is always flavourful and juicy, but I have to say I love their bamboo shoots even more. I love the variety of toppings they have. Last time I visited, I tried the tofu skin with my spicy ramen, it was delicious as well. Great place, good value, amazing ramen!

Delicious rsmen

Perfect lunch for rainy day. Enthusiastic staff, everyone gets a hearty greeting. The broth for the ramen is delicious. I got the Kotteri ramen, my husband got the spicy ramen. Both we more than enough without adding extras-though you could add on with a nominal charge. Very filling and yummy. Priced around $10-12.

Great Ramen in Seattle WA

By Gardencook |

After we traveled all day from Alaska, we wanted an Asian comfort food. Finding Ooink, a ramen restaurant near our hotel, we found a great small restaurant and enjoyed a nice bowl of soup and some pork dumplings. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I recommend you give it a try.

Delicious ramen, the neighborhood not so much

By Kiah Jones |

Delicious bowl of ramen, but the Capitol Hill location is in a very questionable area with lots of homelessness and visible open drug use around. As a solo female traveler, I felt uneasy leaving after my meal around 8:30p. The food is worth it though, so maybe consider going for lunch instead.
