Really good traditional comfort foods. On-sight bakery has great pies and cakes in huge slices that are good. Any of the cream pies are the best. I often take people here when I pick them up in the middle of the night at the Philly Airport. The inside is really nice. The exterior needs help though. There is dried gum everywhere that needs to be power washed off, the building needs repainting, the lines in the lot are so faded that parking is helter skelter, and the sidewalk going into the entrance is blocked by a fence.

I like this place. Food was hot. Eggs cooked as ordered, Scrapple decent, home fries warm and tasty, toast was toasted and not burnt, and OJ and coffee not stale. Service was prompt and pleasant. Why go anywhere else?

After voting today I decided to take in breakfast at the Oregon Diner. I've been here a million times. So, today I want to talk about service. I've had the pleasure to be greeted and serviced by a Christina. I was impressed the moment I was greeted. I was greeted with a friendly smile and a welcoming attitude. This is not the usual Diner style greeting. It's not that they're usually mean or unwelcoming, they're mostly indifferent. I realize the pay is not great and they're on their feet all day but as a paying customer I look forward to a smiling and friendly greeting. I encourage Diner H/R to aggressively seek friendly type personalities. Good job Oregon Diner and thanks a million Christina.

Enjoyed a great meal and spent little! We dined on their monthly specials priced at $9:99. For three dollars more we were able to add soup, salad and dessert. Unlike some diners dessert was anything off their bakery shelf, not just pudding or jello. Portions were very generous, food was well prepared, and the service was good. We plan to return.

Came in for pie and soda. Good service, clean and classic diner vibe. Food looked good but didn't try anything from the kitchen.

After a long morning and early afternoon of outpatient surgery for our young daughter, all she wanted was a simple egg breakfast and pancakes. With a take-out order of eggs, sausage, and potatoes, as well as some pancakes and french toast, we were all set. The pancakes were hearty and the french toast was perfect. We splurged on a cheese danish which was excellent! The staff was very friendly since we ordered over the phone and it was nice and hot when we picked it up. Overall, a great diner to have breakfast anytime you want.

Had a chicken pot pie which was loaded with pieces of chicken, potatoes and vegetables. It also came with a tossed salad which in itself could have been a meal. Everything was vey hot and tasted great. Just off 76 and 95. Service was outstanding.

The service is great, the food is good, the portions are plenty, and the price is right. What more can you ask?

After arriving home from vacation, we stopped for a late dinner. Our waitress, Dana, was really awesome. Everything was hot and tasty and we're glad we stopped.

My wife and I met a student for Saturday breakfast and course work. The breakfast was very good - omelet with side of pork sausage. The food, especially the sausage, was better than average. The service was OK, matter of fact and not super friendly, but functional. Good location in South Philadelphia with fair parking.

As with all eaterys, they have good, and bad, selections. This is a dinner, not a five star restaurant. The burgers are great, as are thier other sandwiches. I love thier omlelettes. All ingredience mixed in, and not just folded over. We frequent them for breakfast, and pre game food. Fast, friendly service. Although all the years I've been going there not one waitress has ever given me thier name. Don't let that stop you from getting good food at reasonable prices.

Breakfast was good ,waitress was nice and polite the hostess was also are nice. When we paid you couldn't resist buying some of the pastries that are in the front of the counter where you pay.

I eat at this Diner on a regular basis at least once every week or two very clean the waitresses are friendly the food is good and I have never left hungry

Personally, one of the best "breakfast places"...their mushroom cheese omelet or any other omelet is the best...and I'm not kidding about the "toasted cinnamon bun." Again, it is a diner so they do have much more to choose from...these are just my favorites.

This is a top notch standard for our trips to Philly. Consistently good food and service, and portions are so generous - be ready to take home leftovers.

Location with free parking was nice. We got right in to a clean booth. The menu was predictable and the wait staff authentic Philadelphia impatient/pushy. All good, so far. The problem was that the food was just OK. Don't get we wrong, not bad, just mediocre. The orange juice was good but the home fries overdone on one side without being fried on the other. Is it hard to flip them over? The American and sausage omelette was ok but nothing special. So, is you want a predictable menu, predictable service, and unremarkable diner food, the Oregon Diner is the place for you.

First time but not the last time. Very large portions of really good food. If you have that super hunger go here! Home made fresh daily food. Bake goods also. Great staff.

This is one of my go-to diners for dinner specials at great values. The service is consistently good; the portions large; and the atmosphere relaxing. On this occasion I ordered the roasted chicken with macaroni and cheese and vegetable sides. The chicken was hot and well seasoned but the mac and cheese was not. The mac and cheese tasted as if it was made with sour cream instead of cheese and was too soupy for my taste. Over the years I had many great meals at this diner and would recommend it for the value-minded traveler.

Stopped in for an early morning hot breakfast and ordered a Spanish omelette with home fries and coffee. Service was fast and pleasant. Coffee was piping hot and fresh. Omelette was perfectly prepared and right off the grill. Home fries were the perfect blend of crispy and flavorful. Craving another visit!

Food was not good at all. Order open hot roast beef with brown gravy and lima beans. Well it did not come out hot and the gravy was this orangey looking color and almost like a paste instead of a gravy. The lima beans where covered in another type of red looking gravy that was just awful. The roast beef was way to think to be open face. Then when we wanted to split the check 3 ways it was like pulling teeth. Last time I think I will be in that place.

They have the best cheesecake. I'd drive for miles to get it. They sell it by the slice or a whole one.

We've been going here once a week for about 15 and lately we've noticed that segregation is still well alive because they have been seating non-white people in one general area bunched up together regardless if the groups are together or not in very small booths and wall seating towards the bathroom and they are the last to get waited on.... It's very sad to see this and to deal with but the only way we have decided to deal with this type of unwelcoming issues is to change the location of our friends/business brunch diner. I'm not saying that everyone should be seated together but the option of seating should be asked because some people have seating preferences.

The Oregon Diner is a mainstay in South Philly with an amazingly large menu, good food and friendly service only available in South Philly - "some coffee, hon?" Their daily lunch specials offer a lot of good food at very reasonable prices and their bakery fresh desserts are a real treat. We have been eating here for lunch daily for years and the variety keeps it fresh every day.

Located on busy Oregon Ave. in South Philly, Oregon Diner offers a wide range of foods and quick, friendly service. We stopped for a fast meal while passing through the area and were very pleased. Though it was mid-afternoon it was no problem to order a breakfast menu item, while the rest of the group had sandwiches which were freshly prepared and attractively presented.

I havent eaten here since I was a teenager. Stopped here after arriving in Philly from the airport. I had breakfast of scrapple and eggs. The food was fresh and tasty. Enjoyed the scrapple. Waitresses were very friendly and gave me good service.

We were in search of a dinner as the buffet at the hotel didn't look that great. First, we saw sign for Maria's but it was closed. We found the Oregon diner and the food and service were great for a diner.

This is a good basic place to grab some cheap comfort foods. The place was clean. We hit it up after a concert. Good for sandwiches. Fast service. Excellent prices.

Neighborhood restaurant known for its reliably good food, coffee, and desserts. Pasta dishes come with bread, salad or soup. Tip - when ordered omelets, ask for the potatoes well done.

Great diner but the seafood platter was overcooked, the onion tings too bready and the mash potatoes cold, The scrapple was delicious and the pancakes ok.

The diner is clean and the service was friendly. The food was just not what I expected. I expect a diner to be like home cooking. My sandwich was made with a frozen chicken patty. My friend’s meatloaf looked like it was cooked 3 days ago. The best thing was the side veggies she got with her meatloaf. Maybe it was an off night.

Came home for a visit and needed some fuel, so we stopped for breakfast. Was looking forward to that classic Philly diner experience, but found the Oregon lacking on many fronts. The food was decent but bland. The pork roll was not Taylor, that's for sure. The service was lazy and uncaring, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Back to the Penrose for me!

We stopped to eat at Oregon Diner after a trip to the Franklin INstitute and before a show at the Wells Fargo Center. We arrived just before 5pm on a Friday and it was not very crowded. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and seated right away. The restaurant was clean, bright, and cheery. Our server, Christine (I believe), was great - very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We had two of the monthly specials, the flounder and the chicken parm, a patty melt, a burger, and a chicken&cheese quesadilla. We also ordered a few extra sides. All food arrived at the table in a timely manner and was fresh and hot. Everything was cooked perfectly. We were incredibly full and still left with three large containers of left overs. We could not eat another bite, but he desserts in the bakery cases looked delicious. We all got something to go, which (six hours later) we are still too full to eat! We will be having them tomorrow, for sure! The prices were very reasonable and the food was great - we will definitely be going back next time we are in the area.

Went on a Saturday afternoon on a break from an improv class I was taking. There were 6 of us in our party. Food took a little while coming out, but was hot and tasty. Service was friendly and fun.

Fast service-good coffee. Order one egg-their one egg portion is the size of two. It is a little thing, but it is surprising how many grill cooks cannot properly cook bacon and ham well done-Oregon's can. Reasonable price, friendly service, and well maintained bathrooms

The restaurant was being remodeled on the outside and was located in a questionable part of town so our first impression wasn't real good. The cars in the parking lot were nice so we decided to try it. The food was good and plentiful and the menu offered a huge variety of choices. Breakfast is served all day too.

I loved the potatoes that came with omelette We ordered three difference omelets. Mine was with mushrooms. It was just ok. I ordered the healthy toast. It had some anise seed that smelled and tasted great.

This is one of my favorite diners in the Philly tri-state area. Exemplary food served with no-nonsense, friendly service. Breakfast sausages are huge!

This has become a regular stop for me when visiting Philly. It's not fancy, but the food, service and prices are some of the best in town.

The Waitress was excellent and polite. The cheese could have been scrabbled Into the cheese but still tasty. Pancakes and Sausage were good.

Great value. 2 slices french toast 2 eggs 2 sausage 2 bacon with drink under 10 dollars. Fast freindly service.

Oregon Diner is open 24/7, but I like to come for lunch with friends because they also serve alcohol. You get boozy brunch and delicious meals for cheap. Their chef and waitress have been around here for so long that they keep it authentic and consistent.

Stopped here for my favorite meal of the day - breakfast. I was very pleasantly surprised. Very good omelet and home fries. And great coffee. The service was nice too. Not every day I get called "hon" by someone half my age. I kind of liked it. The only suggestion I have is clean the bathrooms up.

Always open7/7 24h/24 doesn't matter if Easter or Sunday. This place never let you down, fast and polite service , huge menù and food quality are a certain for a very reasonable price. It s worth to try 😊

You really want the South Philly experience - the clientele, the waiters - here's your place. Big portions, huge menu, solid food, good tasty diner experience. Rough around the edges in classic South Philly style.

The sea food broil was over cooked the crab cakes was all breading and really dry. Creamed cauliflower all cream if thats what they used, tasteless, But the French fries where great.

I drive a Limo part time and when in South Philly, I always stop at the Oregon Diner. Over the past few years I have gotten to know some of the wait staff and they are with out a doubt super ladies. The food is always fresh and priced right and the Bakery has some of the largest Muffins I have ever seen. There is plenty of parking room, (I can park my stretch Limo without a problem) Say hello to Barb when you go there.

This is one of our go-to diners in Philadelphia for good old fashioned comfort food. I was hungry so I ordered meatloaf and mashed potatoes with a side of green beans. My partner ordered the rotisserie chicken with baked potatoes and broccoli. Both meals were satisfying.

we probably dine here 2-3 times per month...can't beat the $9.99 menu or Sunday morning breakfast menu...have been going to the Oregon Diner for years and only one time had a disappointing meal...can't beat this place!

Seriously SO sad the front desk guy should take a number for customers or take their name before seating!!!! You have barraccutas wanting to go in there giving you dirty looks!

let me start off by saying as soon as you enter you can see how clean the place is, the staff is as friendly as can be and everyone calls you "hun". You do not have a long wait at all cause it has a decent size. We went there twice for breakfast because we really liked the food and the key is to get there before 10:30 cause you get good breakfast deals. I didn't know that until i went back the second time and the breakfast choices were a little different because we arrived later than 10:30. And if you want grits, the latest you can get it, is by 10, because it goes quickly.

From the front door you are greeted with a smile and your choice of seating. The servers are prompt and courteous. It's the great comfort food served all day that keep us coming back. This time we had pancakes sausage and an omelet. The food has consistently been hot, delicious, large portions; perfect for large parties or small groups.

Good ole fashion comfort food at its best. We had a chicken salad, roast pork lion and crab imperial. The crab imperial was the best and the roast pork was slightly over cooked but tasty with the gravy. The garlic mash potatoes were better than average but the Mac and cheese was below average . All the portions were large but smaller than they were in the past. The Lima beam soup was outstanding and the chicken florentine needed something. Definitely worth a stop.

I love this diner. The staff is friendly. All breakfast is excellent. Typically, I get a burger for dinner when we visit, which is also good. They have a nice bakery, as well. Very fast service

Where Philly comes to have breakfast etc… Great cheese omelettes, pancake specials, lunch and dinner deals. Consistently good breakfast fare for us…. Seems like everyone in Philly comes here to fine because it’s a happening place (a car wash next door ) and waitresses that offer great coffee and service . Read the menu closely as some of the breakfasts include coffee or tea.

travel all the way from Brooklyn ny to meet some friends to go eat and arrived at Oregon had a great meal service was excellent our server was on point with everything we needed. we will definatley get back her for another meal soon

My usual diner stop when in South Philly. Always generous portions and good, basic diner food. Usually when visiting friends it is the place we go. It is a typical diner, comfortable booths. A take out bakery counter with big selection.

Dessert diner it's in the heart of South Philly a place that I go to every night when I come from work I have to say the food is actually good I can really sit down and relax after a hard day at work and relax and be in good food this is the recommendation I will say is perfect for families friends and just general gatherings

It used to be like an authentic diner..but now the waitstaff is no longer unique

Always love coming to this diner with my family. The portions are huge and the service is excellent. The healthy omelet with home fries was scrumptious. The toasted corn muffin was crispy and tasty. The coffee was so delicious. The bacon and sausage was excellent. The pancakes and French toast was so delicious. My family just loves this place and our stomachs were very happy!

Enjoyed going there for lunch. Just let them know you need to be out by a certain time and the service is spot on. Although I was rushed to eat, everything came out hot and delicious. Service was great. Nice to have a meal away from home that taste homemade!

Went to the Oregon Diner with some friends and had the Philly Cheeses-stake......why not, we were in Philadelphia. The restaurant is spacious and to me, it seemed rather unique as I walked inside. The menu is big, just the size of it is surprising, and colorful, makes you want to order too much. Service was quick and efficient, and the food arrived quickly.........and the quantity was more than I could finish at one sitting. Our waitress noted when I asked, that the fries were probably bought frozen and were not made in house. However, I was very please that they were delicious and not the bland fare like one sometimes receives. We were not in the restaurant long, service was good and I certainly would like to go there again. Our friend was from Philly and knew of the location and took us there since he knew it was a great place to eat. Prices were very reasonable.

We needed a quick bite before exploring the city and I am glad we chose this pace. The food was delicious and the portions were huge! loved the service! highly recommended. It has its own parking which is a plus.

We went on a busy Saturday and the staff was great. We were seated right away and the server nice and got our order taken care within the first 5 mins of being in the diner. The food was great and was prepared right away. I love a place that doesnt make you wait forever especially when you are dining with children.

The great thing about The Oregon Diner is that if you are traveling, it doesn't matter when it is, you can get a great meal. My wife and I have had Thanksgiving there. Other travelers and I have eaten there on whatever holiday. And it is always good. I can tell when I'm feeling flush when visiting there - I treat everyone in my group to the big cookies by the counter. You can't help but smile holding those big things. I have had their dinners but, I especially like the kielbasa and eggs. It's hearty, it's filling, and great value. I have not been there one time where the waitresses were not attentive. The Oregon has been in business for a long time because they put out good food consistently, all the time. When I'm stuck on the road on a major holiday and The Oregon is close, it's a comfort to know I can rely on them for a great meal.

Plenty of parking around Wells Fargo Bank... 4 bacon 2 sunny side home style potatoes... Pumpkin pie... Very fast service...this place is all about hot coffee ...

After my experience yesterday, I am very disappointed. I have been a frequent customer. Yesterday, when I arrived and sat in a booth, I noticed a waitress who seemed to make a snide remark when she saw me. The other waitress to whom she told the remark, laughed. I then placed my order and my waitress told me exactly what she said, essentially that I would try to ask for a crab cake to go. Well, I pay for the crab cake. This was not the first time. I spoke to the manager who was not there to witness it, and he actually said it did not happen as I was a frequent customer and no one would ever say that to me. Well, I heard something of the sort and it was confirmed by my waitress. He seemed disinterested.

stopped here for breakfast on a recent trip. Didn't disappoint. Portions are large and the service is fast and friendly. Prices are good also.

Never disappoints! The portions are very generous. The waitresses are all nice and accommodating. One of our go to places.

We were in town for a Phillies game and looking for a place for dinner. The food was so good and the prices were so reasonable that we came back for breakfast the next morning. Service was also excellent

We had breakfast here and I have to say, everytime we come to philly we eat breakfast here!! The food is very good and reasonable priced. I have been eating there for about 5 years for breakfast when we go to phillies games. We always seem to get the same booth and waitress and I LOVE IT!!! She is very good and makes jokes with us and treats us like family!! I don't remember her name, but when ya go in the door she is to the right all the way in the back at the 2 large round tables. LOVE her!!! Best waitress!! Did not have to ask for refills she is right on top of that, she is very good at her job!! She has the right attitude for that type of work!! The food was ht when it came to us and very delish!! Better than you would think by the word Diner! Great place and cheap enough to not break the family budget.

The food was great had a tuna steak cooked to perfection....my son enjoy the spaghetti and meatball he had order a extra meat ball....the waitress was pregnant and so pleasant....i would definitely go back

This is a consistently good food and service restaurant. Ended up here after going to several places where I found the service really lacking. I just cannot abide poor service. Philadelphia service staffers are for the most part not trained to be polite.

Inexpensive and very good! I had the Monte Cristo sandwich with fries. The service was friendly and fast!

The chicken salad sandwich was lousy and overpriced. I would not suggest.

We went to Oregon Diner for Sunday Brunch and while the food was good, I had some issues with our visit. The service was subpar from our server and it took a while for him to come around with waters and then to take our order. I saw on the website that they had chicken and waffles for $15.99 and it came with toast and cofffee. Great. That's what I'll get. We sit down and we aren't given the breakfast specials menu so I just asked if they still have the chicken and waffles. He said yes and then didn't ask for my choice of toast and coffee. I thought maybe there was a non special version I just didn't see and it would be even cheaper. Cool. I didn't really need the toast and coffee and I could probably save a few bucks. Nope. We get the check and I owe $18.99. It's listed as a #10 Chicken and Waffles so I'm assuming it was on the special list and should have come with the other stuff. I paid more for less. The food was good but I feel ripped off. At this point the meal was done and there wasn't much that could be done so we just paid and we will just not return, which is unfortunate.

I will be honest. I didn't have time to have an actual breakfast here (although the restaurant was full and the food looked great). I was stopping on my way through because I cannot resist a chocolate covered elephant ear. We grabbed some baked goods from the counter in the front and they were all really tasty. Next time hopefully I can eat there but from the looks of things (and the speed with which our pastries were gone), you cannot go wrong here!

This diner is immensely better than the rest. I take all my friends from out of town here and I have never gotten a complaint. Service is awesome. Food comes quick. It's always great. A go to in Philadelphia!

Yuck. Been here quite a few times. Kept hoping it would get better. Nope the creamed chipped beef had no beef. The had brown are grated disgusting potatoes. If you add undercooked onions and peppers to them it’s an extra $2. Bleh. The avocado toast is barely a spread of horrible guacamole and fried eggs. Meaning hard fried. Awful. I ordered over medium eggs after the order came and I realized they came hard fried…an extra $3. Unreal. I’m done with this place. Waitress could have cared less

The menu has plenty to choose from and the prices aren't too bad. The food was really good and the service was too. However, I don't think I'd go again. I've been to better diner's. There is plenty of parking in their parking lot so that's always something I look for when driving to places.

having lunch with my boyfriend Harry and I am waiting for my burger to arrive at the table so I can eat my lunch

Great value for money. Staff very friendly. Food is amazing, Burgers, Texas burger, Pasta, chocolate brownie all highly recommend. Great place to eat before watching the Eagles.

I confess, I've been known to eat here 3 times in one day. The food is excellent. Never had a bad meal. Order anything! The staff is friendly (as you'd expect) and the service is prompt. Come on a Friday night and order a margarita. Yes, I know, I'm raving about diner food. But this is no ordinary diner. What are you waiting for?!

Service was very good and food is too. They can't help it much, but there are some questionable characters and suspicious deals going on inside and around the area in the early morning hours. I am sure they don't like it either and can't legally stop it, but the public should be aware.

The menu at this diner is extensive. You can get breakfast all day long. It is open 24/7. Had a large piece of chicken parm for dinner with soup, potato, vegetable, and bread for $9.99. Cannot beat it. Service is good and they have a pastry case in the front. Yum.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, late-night snacks, the Oregon Diner has it all..... fairly reasonable prices clean friendly environment and staff...... I love the memories, worked as a young teenager..... I met my wife here. :-)

I've been dining here for years along with my parents, but this time I had to complain. We went during lunch and a shift change. Bad combination. I ordered an entrée from the combination specials. The bisque soup, either crab or lobster was horrible. Whatever it was they need to bottle it up and throw it away. WaWa sell better lobster bisque than they do. I ordered the chicken parmesan and it was absolutely horrible. The pasta was tasteless with only a spoonful of sauce. I felt like going into the kitchen and raiding their seasons shelf! Not only was I not satisfied with my entrée neither was my mother. The server forgot to ring up her Italian sausage so when she bought our food out and realized she didn't order my moms sausage she went into the kitchen and came right back out with a sausage that looked like it wasn't put on the grill at all. It was cold and totally ruined my moms experience. We decided to take our entrees home and doctor them up ourselves.

Can't get through the door and they are seating you. It is a machine. This place is huge. Classic diner...everything and anything. Local favorites. Nice updated decor. Professional staff. Good food. Fast. Good prices.

Big menu. Homemade green pea soup Great food. Good, wait staff. Homemade cookies. And other baked goods. Friendly neighborhood restaurant.
Break The Fast Here!
Breakfast is the only meal we had here and it was terrific. The eggs Benedict were prepared extremely well and the potatoes were and excellent side. Can't wait to return!
