Great menu; with a large portion of it Gluten free and Paleo friendly. Had a good cocktail menu, but the bartender will also craft something up for you if you know what you like.

This place has great food, however, you will be hard pressed to get away from here paying less than $20. The dip with brussel sprouts tasted good, but for bigger eaters, the baguette is pretty small. Big serving of sprouts though. The bacon burger is juicy and taste good but expensive, as you will end up paying over $20 if you have add french fries. Not sure it is worth the premium price. No air conditioning (temporary broken I was told, but so it has been for some time now) is a big downer with 90+ degrees outside. Bottom line, great food, but too pricey.

The name of the restaurant is fitting as the food tastes closer to its origin that most restaurants in Dallas. Everything is fresh and well prepared with just enough accoutrements to let the food shine without being over sauced or having too much confusion on the plate. For starters we had the cheese board and bruschetta which were both great, the scamorza mozzarella on the bruschetta was fantastic and the arugula salad served with the bruschetta was consumed just a quickly as the bruschetta itself. Our group had the redfish, hangar steak, stuffed squash and the salmon salad and every plate was returned without a speck of food or sauce remaining. The redfish was extremely fresh and perfectly cooked. For dessert we had the homemade cookie and ice cream and a the off menu addition of a galette. Both were not too sweet and beautiful in their simplicity. I will say that the portions are not "Texas" large they are more consistent with entree sizes in Europe. I do recommend at least an appetizer, or as it is called there a 'short,' prior to your entree, called a 'long,' if you are hungry. The menu is very vegetarian friendly and gluten-free friendly if you have mixed diets in your group. The wine list is short but contains solid reasonable priced wines, they also have several local craft beers on tap. As for the atmosphere, the restaurant is loud. We were a group of six and it was very difficult to have a conversation that the whole table could hear until half of the restaurant cleared out. I would not go here if you are planning an evening of intimate conversation. The service was fine, they did forget an entree initially but apologized and sorted it out pretty quickly. Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will definitely go back.

We were there for a post wedding Sunday brunch with a bunch of people. They moved tables and got us seated only a few minuets past our reservation. Drinks were good, they had gluten free options and everyone enjoyed their meals. Next time I'm in Dallas, I'll eat there again!

Best french toast I've ever eaten: The King is a great vanilla french toast with grilled banana, and caramel syrup with a hint of sea salt. I also ate a few bites of the Sweet Caroline, it is as special as the French toast. A pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and a side of sweet potato fries. The food arrived timely and our waiter was very knowledgeable. We will return soon.

Amazing Food & Service from Origin tonight. My friends and I went to celebrate a few promotions and the servers were absolutely the best. From the drink recommendations of the Willamette Valley Red Wine to pair with the Braise Short Ribs to the suggestion to try all the deserts... we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. I’m celiac and got to enjoy everything the table had, such a wonderful treat!

Our book club had dinner at Origin. Ten of us in the party on a Thursday evening. It was excellent. The food was delicious and innovative, the service was accommodating and helpful, and the facility was perfect. I will likely go back again in the near future.

They serve a great local coffee. It is the best we've had. My grass fed burger was "to die" for. My husband had Chilaquiles which he said was outstanding. We will be back.

Came here for dinner.. The bruchetta is awesome. Got the steak and scallops special quite tasty. Big group everyone seemed to like their orders

We both had the regular salad (I think that was the name) and it was absolutely fantastic. Ingredients were fresh and wonderful. The service was over the top good. I had a diet coke that didn't taste right. The manager got me a new one and asked how it was. I said, "It'll do" and he said, "that's not the answer I want from a customer". He investigated and found some part of the machine that wasn't cooling enough so it wasn't properly carbonated. I was blown away that someone would take a complaint about Diet Coke to that extreme. We went back the next night, didn't end up having dinner as they were closing. We'll return here many times!!!

Don't miss the Brussel sprout salad for an appetizer. I had the Texas redfish and it was delicious. Everyone with our party really thought the food was great. The only complaint was very small cocktails. It was expensive, but the quality was a+.

Ate here twice in three days and loved it both times. Very good coffee and a small but well done brunch menu (other food available I think). Slightly on the worthy/hipster side of things (a number of paleo references) but that’s not not to say the food wasn’t really good. It was. I had pancakes the first day and bird in a basket the next. The latter with avocado, egg and toast was great.

This is a good spot for brunch, if you live close by. Food was pretty good, but nothing outrageous that would make me drive down to revisit. Service is also a bit lacking, it took us too long to get our drinks. For the price, I'd say find another spot.

Sunday brunch. I recognize there's a labor shortage and everything else bad about today's tough economy. That said, Origin just wasn't that good. Plusses: trendy people in trendy décor. Minuses: reservations required; very high decibel noise level with very tight seating; 35-minute wait for food; an overcooked grilled chicken sandwich (some of the meat was too tough to chew) served with overcooked and way over-salted zucchini, squash, and carrots. My spouse's tacos were OK. Service was attentive. $40 for two entrees and one tea. We see no rush to come back.

This place is wonderful. I think it used to be a coffee shop but still the food was great. The brisket tacos were good but the old fashioned i had was much less desireable but still. The ambiance was cool and the manager was very friendly.

Oddly enough I came to try this place completely by accident. I was getting my hair done and had ordered take out from a different restaurant using a third party delivery service. The delivery service mixed up their deliveries and I ended up with the most amazing salad from Origin Kitchen! It was well balanced with perfectly cooked chicken, quinoa, kale, fruits, nuts and a yummy lemon vinaigrette! I've since been to the restaurant with a girlfriend to do "girls lunch". The salads are amazing and a fun spot in a great location. Good size salad that can easily be split if you're just looking for an afternoon snack to hold you over till dinner.

As someone who must eat gluten free, it's a special treat to have almost a full menu to choose from! And the food was terrific. Our server was pleasant and it was a great evening.

We dined on a weekday, mid-morning, and had a wonderful meal. The place was not very crowded but we chose to sit at the bar and watch the food prep - which was quite entertaining. The coffees were nice and made to order. The Papa Bear Porridge was a really nice dish (black sticky rice, strawberries, bananas, and coconut cream). It was filling and not too sweet. The Chilaquilies with pulled pork were outstanding! The freshly deep-fried chips were thin and tasty. The pork, the sauce, the egg - everything blended together so well and it was very tasty and delicious. Service was okay but nothing special. This small place resembles a coffee shop more than a restaurant, but the menu was quite extensive and varied. Most enjoyable!

We stopped in at Origin for breakfast and were so pleased with the food quality and presentation! The King French toast was perfection on a plate. Brussels salad and seasonal hash were lovely, fresh presentations. Latte and cappuccino artfully prepared.

I went with several friends after an event at SMU and the restaurant was great. I was doing Whole30 - and the restaurant actually has a menu for Whole30 and the wait staff is very knowledgeable. The half sweet potato hash / half brussels sprouts bowl with two over easy eggs was very tasty. And my friends who were not doing Whole30 really liked their dinners, especially the burgers. Great place even if you aren’t doing Whole30. Will definitely go again.

Bustling spot for brunch in casual walkable neighborhood. Service was accommodating. Place was kinda loud, but expected for bar & open-kitchen concept. Food was mostly very good. Menu options for vegetarians a definite plus. Coffee was great!

For a Monday pre-lunch meal, we were excited to try this restaurant. It was listed in the top half of Highland Park area restaurants in Yelp for breakfast. We arrived to an eatery that was empty. Lucky us! I expected prompt service and a quick turn time. So much for expectations. When we asked our waiter to turn on the overhead table light, he advised he could not due to a switch issue. It was hard for one of my party to read the menu. We ordered basic items: eggs, toast, pancakes, BLT, and sweet potato fries. Once again, not too many customers in the place. It took almost 30 minutes to get our meal. I think Origin was more "bar" thank "kitchen" Monday morning. I have to say the food was good but not worth $45 dollars for a basic breakfast for two people. I know this is Highland Park but $45? I won't recommend Origin Kitchen + Bar and will never be back. We spent too much and wasted too much time there.

K, this place is awesome. Again we visited with a large party of adults/kids. So many choices! Kids loved the paleo pancakes (almond & coconut flour). Adults mostly ordered one of the delicious salads or the peruvian hash (?). Really delicious!

Hip space, eager helpful waiter, champion menu-no filler, all a winner. Easy parking, uncluttered table area, well lit but low glare. Food AND drink menu interesting and tasty. Good for nutrition or work sedition :). May be as good places around but very few better.

Origin used to be more takeout centric but they've changed the place around and now it's just a really nice place to go, have a beer, and get good food. Lots of grass-fed and healthy stuff. Very decent flat iron steak.

The food was very good. The menu is different but fun. The service an ambience are very good. Yoplshouldllllll chcheck it out.

Traveled almost an hour to take an out-of-town friend here. Unfortunately, at lunch time, the full menu, as well as appetizers, were not available. This was a big let down! Although the environment was cute and the food was still good, we were disappointed in the limited options. Grapefruit Mimosa was great!!

The food was fantastic and they had a full selection of healthy "paleo" type food choices. Finally a restaurant that serves good clean food without all the processed junk usually found in resaurantes these days.

Had a group of six for our first dinner visit. Service was really top notch server was very attentive, seemed to have a good understanding of the menu and made several recommendations. Unfortunately one of those recs was for the Short Rib Tacos. We had three orders of them and they were dry, dry, dry. The burgers were very good and cooked exactly the way they were ordered rare and medium rare. But they were expensive and the regular french fries we ordered were really not interesting, limp, not crispy or with interesting seasoning. Deserts were good. Wine prices were a little on the high side as I recall nothing below about $ 40 a bottle. They had what looked like a very comprehensive bar menu. The vibe was good all patrons seemed to be having fun. I think this place has potential and with some menu tweaks, and a little lowering of food and wine prices

The restaurant has great potential. I was there for brunch with a group and everyone loved their food. Even the pale pancakes were yummy. There's a nice brunch drink list to make a selection from. I will try Origin again but will sit outside because the restaurant didn't seem to have any ventilation system in place. Origin smelled like fried food. The service was slow so I agree with QI1. Not top notch but they did understand their menu.

We were recently in town and discovered this restaurant in a search for farm to table spots. We are so glad we did!! The food was amazing and the service attentive and friendly. Truly the best hamburger I have had in a long time. My friend had a similar comment about the hash she ate as well. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!!

Nice mix of entries and sides that are tasty without all the heavy sauces or high calorie add ons. My fav is the roasted Brussel sprouts ---- yes, they are that good.

The mussels appetizer was amazing - I wanted to drink the rich broth. The steak tartare was tasty and the meat and cheese board was just the right amount of items for its price point ($15). I had the duck and dumplings and my spouse had the pork tenderloin, both were excellent. The desserts were a little disappointing, the tarte could have been sweeter and the sundae -while tasty- could have had a better presentation. The space is small and clearly popular; I think if they fix the minor tweaks it will be even better.

I love visiting Dallas for all the great gluten free options and this place did not disappoint! I had the g free French toast with bacon, soooo good! My husband devoured his pancakes and we both enjoyed our bullet coffee! Will go back next trip!

Our visit to Origin was almost a complete disaster. First, the good. My sister enjoyed her Paleo Pancakes and her tea. She passed me a slice of bacon, and it was good. Next, the rest. Our coffee was disgusting, possibly the worst that I have had in my life. It was cheap and burnt. My brother-in-law had the plain Drip. I had the Bulletproof, which was taken off the check and replaced with a Cappuccino, which tasted of black tea leaves ... and the same awful coffee that was the basis for the Drip and Bulletproof. I then noticed that everyone else within sight was drinking either tea or mimosas with their brunch. I ordered the chilaquiles. The presentation was unappetizing with a big ball of gray brisket plopped in the middle, hiding the egg(s?). The malanga chips were at room temperature and the picante sauce was chilled; this gave the impression that the entire dish was cold. It tasted all right; it just needed a minute in the microwave. The frites are shoestring potatoes, to me more of a snack than a side at a restaurant. My brother-in-law got them by mistake but was not charged for them. Why the mistake? This place has hard surfaces, an open kitchen, and a metal ceiling. We could not hear each other, the waiter could not hear us, and we could not hear him. From the introduction conversation: Waiter (to my sister): ____ Happy Mother's Day! Me (to the waiter): ??? Excuse me. What is your name? Waiter (to me): ??? My name is ____. We went through at least half a dozen more "Who's on first?" routines afterwards. We had had to make reservations, accommodating ourselves to the crowded times a couple days in advance. I am sure that I do not know what the literal commotion is about. I only saw expensive, loud, and awful from my side of the table. My brother-in-law does not want to return; I do not either.

Origin first popped up in Dallas about 3 months ago, and I've been anxious to try it out since their doors opened. Since Origin is still relatively unknown, it's pretty easy to get same-day dinner reservations. This place has a really clean and open feel to it. The dining room is simple, with no unnecessary nicknacks or clutter. It's laid back, but not divey. Think smart casual. We couldn't decide on just one appetizer, so we tried both the Duckaroni and The Greek. The humorously-named Duckaroni is full of smoked gouda, parmesan cream, and maytag bleu cheeses. I was expecting tender pieces of pulled duck meat, but what we received was tough, more like duck jerky. The elbow macaroni was ok, though a larger-size pasta would have worked better. The cheeses were good in general. That being said, this dish lacked the punch that I was expecting from bleu cheese. The flavors were ok overall, but it could be amazing with some work. The Greek is more or less what you'd expect, with one major twist: wild caught skate. For those unfamiliar with this fish, it's basically a stingray. It's a bit unusual to find on the menu, particularly in a non-seafood restaurant, but it was actually really tasty. The skate also paired nicely with the onions, and the mint tzatziki tied everything together. It's very tasty, but not the best selection for sharing, unless you don't mind each others germs or you pre-slice the whole thing. For my entree, I picked their Espresso Rubbed Grass Fed Hanger Steak. Besides the obvious, this dish comes with a Swiss mushroom ragout, Pecan Porter battered onion rings, and broccolini. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium, with a really nice char. The espresso added a bittersweet flavor that worked quite nicely. The "onion rings" were more like onion strips, but had a great flavor and added just the right amount of salt. If you can manage to get the steak, onions, and ragout on one forkful, the flavor combination is amazing. I'm really glad we decided to give Origin a shot, and I will definitely be back. My sister and I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. We were searching for keto-friendly spots for dinner and Origin Kitchen did not disappoint! It was so refreshing to see grass-fed beef on the menu. I had the cassava nachos. My sister had a burger on a gluten-free bun with mashed sweet potatoes. It was very good. Our server was kind enough to bring out lime juice so I could make my own sugar-free limeade (they had stevia packets)! The owner came out to check on every table. I will be returning!

I always feel at home at Origin Kitchen + Bar. Their seasonal, clean menu makes eating healthy feel indulgent—think grass-fed brisket tacos or paleo-friendly chilaquiles. The vibe is laid-back yet polished, and the staff is genuinely kind. Whether I’m brunching solo or catching up with friends, it’s my go-to spot for both comfort and quality.

The food is really good, the mimosas very cold. Im planning on going back there next time I go to Dallas. Try the meatloaf sandwitch

Origin is a restaurant focused on good food with great flavor. We tried a couple of dishes from the restaurant week menu and it was a great experience. We will go back for more of the Squash Cup (chef Morgan is not only very nice, but a master in preparing Kale) and the Red Fish. Service is a 10. Rene our server was the best! Their wine list is not extensive but has some few good choices such as the Miraval Rosé. They take reservations thru OpenTable

This is a great place to have lunch. We have eaten there several times and have enjoyed this place every time. They have regular lunch and also sandwiches, etc. but always excellent. Highly recommend this place and the staff is friendly. Not sure if they take reservations. We have always just walked in.

We went for brunch. Had the burger & seasonal hash. I ordered a sangria, was told they had run out. Ordered two sides that were never delivered. Ordering & getting refills of coffee took 3 reminders. Waiter apologize with reason being they were busy. It's Saturday brunch, of course you're busy. Will try this place again because food was so good, but another round of bad service may kill it for me.

Staying with our kids in Dallas and they wanted to try a new place. It worked out very well. The service is excellent. The decor is modern and classy and the food is wonderful. Of course I liked the drinks best. They make a great Manhattan. Our daughter said that the short ribs were outstanding. Our son's halibut was good but too many veggies and noodles. My wife's buffalo burger was the best. I forgot that Texas chili doesn't have beans. Our daughter-in-law said it's a do over.

We tried this restaurant based on the farm to table premise and I have to say it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Prices are reasonable and service is friendly. My husband had the fish. It was very good and authentic. My only comment is the sweet potato fries were lack luster. Keep the quality up by sourcing sweet potatoes and doing a wedge cut with a signature seasoning, these were deep friend into oblivion... Still very happy with my burger and lemon pie which was excellent

Met a girlfriend here for brunch and had made a reservation on open table. I had to wait just a couple minutes (which is fine), but when they seated me it was the table that nobody wants to sit at because of the location and the chairs and tabletop is well, just weird and uncomfortable. I was fine with it though, but then soon noticed that the top of the table was completely coming loose and flopping everywhere. No joke, totally weird! So I asked for them to re-seat me..but there were no other tables. The bar space looked totally great, so I offered to move there. I didn't raise a stink at all and was totally nice about everything, and they brought me a complimentary fruit platter for the inconvenience! I mean, who does that nowadays!? The remainder of the meal, they were totally fantastic. Can't brag on them enough for their customer service. Barista was also great. Now the food (LOL)!: Food was fresh, simple, and fantastic. I had an almond milk latte and the "Bird in the Basket" with the egg fully cooked. Tasted my friends paleo pancake and omg, coming back and ordering that! Little loud in the restaurant, but being at the bar helped because you can sit a little closer to eachother side by side.

Origin Kitchen is billed as a Paleo restaurant. It is Paleo, but has much more. It is a small open kitchen, very casual to dressy neighborhood restaurant with a small but very good bar. The Salads are huge, fresh and amazing. The Brussels Salad with Salmon and Avocado added was a bargain at $12. The grass fed burger was a 1/3 lb thick burger with freshly backed brioche bun, cheese grilled onion and sweet potato fries: fantastic! The Roasted Chicken Salad was huge with organic tender chicken, non paleo croutons, and enough mixed greens for four people. Service was exceptional from the staff. The kitchen took special care to expo each plate to perfection. The wine pour was over 6 ounces. The Paleo Hummus was very good. If you are a vegetarian or like a Paleo diet, Origins is a great choice in a crowded come a you are restaurant scene.

This place far exceeded our expectations. Got drinks during brunch, the michelada was huge with a unique craft brewery beer. My girlfriend is lactose and gluten free, but had plenty of menu options to choose from (this never happens). The meals were plenty of food, very delicious, and a good price. The service was fast and they were very friendly. Highly recommend, looking forward to going back.

Great menu. Lots of options across the board for all types from vegan, paleo, meat lovers, etc. Particularly nice to be able to swap avocado oil on most items too.

The hostess was super friendly when we walked in, sat us immediately and ended up being our server as well which was nice. I had the Vanilla French Toast with the baked banana, bacon, and salted caramel mousse.. WOW! It was much lighter than I thought and was Delicious! Nice ambiance and very reasonable prices. Would definitely go back to try lunch or dinner!

For my birthday in a new city, my husband found this place online & it is our new favorite. The place is rather average in decor but the service & food were IMPRESSIVE! It was hard to make selections but the server was most helpful. Food was properly prepared & well timed for a leisurely meal.

My husband and I love this restaurant. The food is delicious and well prepared and presented and the service is terrific. We usually go in the evening and have gotten to know the staff. They genuinely care about providing an excellent experience for their guests and go above and beyond. I have several food allergies and they always make sure that I am taken care of. It's nice to be able to dine out and not have to worry that I'll accidentally eat something I'm not supposed to have. The ambience is also great and we love the clean, modern decor. Special thanks to the manager Chris. He always goes above and beyond to make it a great experience. I highly recommend this place!

First you will notice the tables are almost always full on the weekend so try to go a little early or a little late of the crowd or make a reservation! Great service, if you are a regular the will remember you and your order. My favorite is the "wake up" omelet - a but spicy but the fries are amazing. They do cater to the gluten-free crowd and fitness peeps and the choices are yummy.

I go here as often as I can. Im gluten free and everything in the restaurant is gluten free. Even the fried calamari! The cocktails are fantastic. The staff is always attentive and the food is ALWAYS good. I can’t get enough.

We had dinner with friends on Saturday night. The place was full and service was great. We had hanger steak, short ribs, pork and nachos. The hanger steak had a perfect char to compliment the med rare beef. The short ribs and pork was also good. Tasty side dishes with the meals also. Good value for the price and very pleasant. Not a great place for nachos, if you are after texmex, but that shouldn’t be a surprise. Small restaurant that is modern and friendly. We will be back.

Origin isn't a big restaurant so if you're 6 or more call ahead and they will let you know if they can accommodate your party. We had brunch there on Saturday . The menu has so many options and you can customize your own "bowl". Everything was fresh and delicious. We ordered a side of fruit which was full of fresh berries, grapes, watermelon etc. Big enough for 2 to share and excellent. I would have given Origin 5 stars if we had a better waitress. She was rude and had an attitude which affected our experience.

Definitely, definitely try Origin Kitchen. A group of friends left it to me to plan a dinner for 8. Originally I was looking for a BYOB place. That let me accidentally finding Origin. As I read the menu I was reminded of FT 33, particularly with its emphasis on fresh and local. I made a reservation on OpenTable but then called because I had some questions and requests. I promptly got a call back from Chris the dinner manager and he was fun and easy to work with. It was restaurant week and they only had the restaurant week menu available. While we would have loved to try the regular menu, the restaurant week menu was inventive and appealing with lots of course choices. It was a four course menu with three choices for the first course, three for the second (salad) course, four for the third (entree) course and two for the fourth (dessert) course. There was a wide variety of courses and with our group of 8 we tried all but one item on the menu. What is surprising, is that everyone liked everything on the menu. The emphasis on paleo options is an interesting twist that left everyone feeling virtuous, less full but still satisfied. Some stand out items were the Paleo Hummus, the Warm Shaved Brussel Salad, the Paleo Grass Fed Hanger Steak, the Squash Cup and the Baked Gluten Free Cookie Ala Mode. They are all on the regular menu. The Paleo Hummus featured an interesting hummus that I think was made primarily of macadamia nuts according to the menu. It had a great texture, smooth like you would expect from a hummus. It was accompanied by fresh yellow and zucchini slices, and beautiful fresh carrots. The malanga chips reminded me of taro chips. It was a light, flavorful and inventive starter. Highly recommend it. I cannot imagine coming back and not ordering the Warm Shaved Brussel Salad. It was that good. It wasn't loaded with a bunch of different ingredients, instead brussel sprouts were the star of the dish. I love walnuts and parmesan together but they were added with a light hand so they didn't overshadow the brussel sprouts. The dressing was outstanding with the slight tang of mustard. Another strong recommend. The Hanger steak was tender and super flavorful, mainly because of the addition of some standout vegetables, including sweet potatos, brussel sprouts and cauliflower. The Squash Cup, a vegetarian option, was the biggest surprise of the menu. I tried most dishes and it was the best of the bunch. Acorn squash was stuffed and baked with quinoa, berries, and almond chutney. It was surrounded by the crispest kale "chips". The balsamic reduction was used with a careful hand, and so didn't overshadow the other yummy flavors but did bring out the berry flavor. You don't have to be a vegetarian to love this dish. Wow! I also loved the Baked Gluten free cookie. It was gooey with a tiny bit of crunch and topped with a small scoop of salted caramel ice cream. It definitely doesn't taste gluten free. Service was attentive but a bit slow at times. We did not seem to have a dedicated waiter for our table. If that is true, I would change that. But the attitude of the wait staff was outstanding. They were fun and entertaining. Chris was everywhere, in particular at the kitchen expediting. He has a great sense of humor and works hard to make the experience outstanding. He made the experience wonderful. Tips: They have a great bar with some inventive cocktails. One friend ordered a drink with prosecco, port and strawberries. She raved about it. The bar is very fun. Another patron told me that their lunch is outstanding. Even folks on diets can eat here.

Origins is one of the most unique restaurants I've been to. They have a definite green bent--and you'll find no end of things like free range chicken and eclectic upscale dishes. It's comfy and trendy. Try it. You'll like it!

We met friends for brunch on a Saturday morning. Good location, friendly service, food was good. We really enjoyed the mimosa presentation with 4 different juices and fresh berries. I would have liked to see a pastry or assorted bread basket for the table, but we still had a lovely time and would definitely return!

I had a business lunch at Origin Kitchen, recommended by my guest. The decor was hip industrial--it worked well for us. There were other business diners but the vibe is also good for a relaxing meal with friends. I had the chicken avocado salad, which was fantastic. The portion size was great--filling but not too big. It was delicious. My companion had the kale salmon salad, which he liked very much. The menu was full of yummy sounding choices--several breakfast items, salads, burgers, sandwiches. They all were tempting. Service was good--efficient and not too fussy. I will definitely be back--I need to try other choices. It was great to have a delicious, healthy meal.

the King was mouth-watering and i was still full after 4 hours and i only ate half of the serving!!! Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Jenny is fantastic!!!

The wife found this place when we were looking for a good Sunday breakfast/brunch location. What a great find! The place is small but we were seated immediately without a wait. The noise level is pretty high because the sound reverberates off the walls. That said, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The breakfast menu is modest, but upon the recommendation of the waitress, I ordered the Chilaquiles, and it was excellent ($13.00). The chips, made from some root vegetable that I never heard of, were light and crisp. The enormous portion is topped with tender brisket and some wonderfully flavorful homemade salsa. I am guessing it is a version of salsa verde (green sauce). Wow, it was good. It brings everything together in a delicious way. There is also an egg and some pickled jalapeños. Just a great dish all the way around. I would order it again in a heartbeat. The wife ordered the hash ($6.50 a la cart) and a pancake on the side ($3.50). She really loved the hash with its myriad ingredients. Our service was very good. She was knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is modern, clean, and upscale without pretension. Prices were not cheap but not exorbitant. I would say it was about normal what you would expect at an upscale place. We really liked this place and plan to return.

Got the idea to visit Origin from high prior TA reviews, and so glad that we went. We were there early in the evening, when the place was virtually empty. Service was superb. I ordered the special entree of walnut crusted fresh wild caught halibut, on top of vegetable pasta. It was delicious! My spouse enjoyed Regular salad, in what was seemingly an endless amount of ingredients. They have a nice choice of wines by the glass, and if you arrive during Happy Hour, they're discounted $2. Best of all, as a Weight Watchers client, I was able to enjoy a tasty, filling, enjoyable main course for 2 points! Can't wait to return. Kudos to the chef!

We went on a Sunday for brunch and were fortunate to have made a reservation. I got the chilaquiles and it is an excellent dish. The wife got the hash bowl and really enjoyed it. The service was good but the place gets loud so it is somewhat hard to talk. We really like the fresh ingredients. We will return again.

My wife and I went to Origin for Dallas restaurant week 2015. We were waited on very quickly and host was informative on restaurant week options. I had the pork shank appetizer and wife had the gazpacho. Both were excellent. For entrees, I had hanger steak and wife had the squash cup. The steak was good but the squash cup was very good and tasty. Both our desserts were great way to wrap up our meal. There is good selection of wine and beer. The prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend based on great combination of service, food and selections.

I was thinking, where can I have a healthy lunch? Previous breakfast meals have always been great at Origin Kitchen, so I decided to try it for lunch. A quick review of the menu, and I zero'd in on the Thai Salmon, which is prepared seared, with arugula, spinach, sliced jalapeno, baby tomatoes, apples, with a soy reduction. The dish was alive with flavors, and spice, and was amazing. I left knowing I will definitely return for lunch again, and no doubt this dish as a repeat! Glenn Almack

We were passing through on the way to the airport and stumbled upon this place. It’s a small place but with a lovely atmosphere and unique menu. I had the steak and eggs with sweet potato hash browns with carmelized onions and bacon Yum! Glad we found it
wonderful food! fresh and delicious!
the food is outstanding. Service is a bit slow...they are very consious of their "ingredients" but not top notch on customer service. Place is small and can be a bit loud. Wine selection is good but spirit pours are exact (rather small) so be sure to order a double(and be ready to pay for it. I went for a birthday lunch and upon arrival advised the waiter that we would like a surprise bday dessert. Not a big deal, but we were charged for the $8 dessert...usually establishments "comp" a bday dessert.... like I said...not a big deal....but that $8 caused me to go from excellent to good! Too bad restaurants don't realize how far things such as this can carry in kudos and gossip from others. Great spot, though! fresh ingredients and a good chef!
