My boyfriend heard about this place from a co-worker. He is a breakfast-addict! I don't like breakfast that much, but I loved this place! They have so many options to choose from! And I HIGHLY recommend having anything that includes the potatoes...YUMMY!!! Love it every time I go!

We are happy that we decided to have brunch at The Original Pancake House this afternoon. Our waitress was very efficient, our food was hot and tasty and the environment was very relaxed. We will certainly be back once we are in the mood for brunch goodies.

best place for breakfast by far, fantastic selection of pancakes, waffles, all type of eggs, fruits, coffee is superb, as well as well as orange juice, very latge portions, unbelievable value and great service

Delicious pancakes and a huge menu of different selections available. Clean, and good service!

Everything was delicious. They even had homemade corned beef hash! This is a rarity. And two kinds of waffles!! Regular and Belgian. We went out of our way to eat here because of their reputation. We were not disappointed. It waqs wonderful and the service was very attentive. Will return.

On walking into the place was greeted by one server placing me in another servers area, the second server, stating very loudly, "this will not do" and storming off, before 5 min's later coming back to serve me. Lucky the food was good, good not great. The rest of the visit was ok if a little iced. The place was clean.

I am a frequent patron of this restaurant. Everything on the menu is very good. The prices are not cheap, but the food is worth it.

Great food and service, however the customers seem a bit rude, not the restaurants fault but be prepared for stares and mean muggs if they don't think you're a local.

My french toast and bacon was to die for! Waitress was nice. The place was super busy but we sat right down.

Everything here is the best. You won't find a better breakfast anywhere. The price is a little higher but worth the expense.

This is a great place for breakfast. The pancakes are very good and you can the service fine. The meals are HUGE so you will not leave hungry. They also have amazing orange juice!

Fast , Friendly, Efficient Service.Lovely staff. Great Food. Comfortable seating. Well appointed spaces between tables. Good proportions and value for the money. Honors AARP.

Big menu. Waffle was good. Maple syrup was just right.

Ate here for breakfast on our recent vacation. The pancakes are great! Our waitress was awesome, super friendly. No complaints. We will be back.

With thought we would give it one more try. Service was okay. Not sure if they have enough servers. They seem to be running non-stop. They seem to be too busy to be able to give you great service. Our eggs had egg shells in it. They did not offer another plate nor did they even apologize. All the server said was they would tell the chef. Bring a sweater, it is extremely cold in there. Too cold to enjoy your food. Place was nicely decorated for halloween. Sorry to say we will not be back.

Took the kids for breakfast on a Sunday morning. There was a 15 minute wait so not too bad. The service was OK and the food took a while because how busy they were. The food was tasty and the coffee kept coming.

It's a very traditional place for breakfast, the portions are not very abundant, for breakfast I find it on the expensive side, the food is good and the pancakes are a tradition

Great food and service! Friendly, fast, and efficient service. Food well prepared, and attractive. Place honors AARP.

I have been coming to the Original pancake house for a few years now and must say that it has always been pleasant and the food is always good. It does get busy (in the mornings, especially on the weekends) so either try to arrive early or be patient. I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes. All the staff is friendly. They even have a lady that comes around to the tables with children to make them balloon animals and such. I have tried the crepes, pancakes and egg dishes and they are all delicious. The portions are good. Many times once I have breakfast here I am not hungry until late afternoon. I definitely recommend the Original pancake house if you are looking for good breakfast food. They also serve lunch and dinner.

While on vacation a local suggested we try this place for a breakfast. After a short wait one Saturday morning we were seated. The menu was comprehensive and had some unique breakfast items. We enjoyed Potato Pancakes, Vegi Crepes, and of course pancakes. It was so good we returned on a Monday morning. Both times the services was lacking. Do not visit unless you have 1-1.5 hours. Breakfast should not be this slow. The food is worthwhile.

Our server was Jose, it was a Sunday morning and you had to wait for a table. Jose immediately got our drink order and then came back in a few minutes and explained to us any questions about items on the menu. Over all the food was very good. But Jose also helped to make it an enjoyable breakfast, with a good personality, a smile on his face, and kept our coffee cups filled. This restaurant is a model for how other restaurants should be operated. But the filled restaurant speaks for itself. Good food and friendly service can't be beat........My wife and I loved this restaurant.....

I have dined in two of their locations. There is a great one next to The Melting Pot Restaurant in Kendall. The Dutch Baby (1 Million Calories) is sinful! (but worth it!).

Good, very rich and at an attractive price. The service was excellent, the lady who helped me was very fast and always very smiling, what more could one ask for.

Perfect chocolate chip & banana pancakes

This place is always packed, so bring your patience to wait outside for your seat. Great food, they make the best bacon & egg sandwich in town! And their pancakes are the biggest and fluffiest, you won't be able to finish them!

The food, service and management at Miami's Original Pancake House are great! I had the most amazing Pecan Waffle (served with warm syrup) & the Bacon is equally delicious. We never ran out of coffee & our server gave great advice on what to see during our stay. The manager was very friendly & made sure we had an awesome experience. We have an OPH near our hometown that we've never tried, after our meal at the Miami restaurant that is about to change!!

I was there with some friends and the food was great and service outstanding and with a smile. Leidi keep up the great work. I’d definitely recommend this place, five out of five stars 👍

This is a very popular restaurant in Kendall. Sometime there is a LONG wait for a table. The food is average and depending on who is waiting on you the service can be great or average We come here monthly and while I rate it 3 stars it is my wife's favorite breakfast place. The cost is average and the pancakes are delicious. We will be back but we come early on the weekend before the crowds gather.

You cannot beat The Original Pancake House for pancakes and waffles. Always great and fresh. If you haven't been, be sure to visit. It beats IHOP by miles!!!

This was our first visit to this business and we loved it. I tried the dutch baby pancakes which was fantastic, pancakes, they were great and crepes, they were wonderful. We also had eggs and they were very good. This is a great place with every imaginable breakfast choice. Plus service was great. Would stop here again.

So a chain is a chain is a chain. Had biscuits and gravy. Crunchy Biscuits watery gravy. Bacon was burned. Pancakes were dry. Don't go to this chain. Better breakfast at your local run places. We are all so blinded by what "they" say is good food. All these chain places should be out of business. The service was good but I think we got lucky. The price was way too much. But that's what you get when you eat at a chain restaurant.

I found out about this place while planning my trip on google maps. The children had heard about IHOP and wanted to go but this was closer and seemed to have a more exciting menu. The staff are very friendly and warm and are so helpful especially as we were first time visitors and the menu seemed intimidating. Portions are large and tasty. There was a collective MMMM! from the table as we tasted our dishes. The reuben is great. I have a big appetite but my bacon and eggs with home fries was filling, next time I'll try a salad.

I loved their dutch baby baked pancake. The eggs were cooked perfectly without any grease on the plate.

Had a mushroom and cheese omelet which was good. The mushrooms were fresh. We also had eggs, sausage and pancakes. Almost every item comes with the choice of pancakes or toast. Entrees are usually large enough to have left overs. Cost is around $10 per person. Service is good.

There were five of us and the staff were always attentive and keeping the coffee filled. The menu is American based but have a twist on a few Latin American dishes. They do add a fifteen percent service charge that is stated at the bottom of each page of the menu. All our dishes were delivered at one time correctly. Never rushed! Inside you get a feel of the old fifty's diner.

Went for breakfast with my wife. I had the sampler with pancakes and she had the omelette. Their omelettes are very good but the pancakes are not great for being call original pancake house.

We enjoyed our breakfast here....they even had pure VT maple syrup on the menu. We considered eating here a second morning of our vacation but tried somewhere else just to try something different. We would return here though for sure!

So let me give you a little background. I've been visiting The Original Pancake House off Sunset Dr. for over 40 years. I began visiting this establishment back when it was originally located at Town and Country Mall. I can't even count the number of customers I've sent to them. Today Monday, December 23rd was the day they lost a customer forever. I arrived at 8:50 am. I said we were going to be a party of 7 or 8 and we would like to sit in Jill's section. I was told that Jill didn't have a table for that many, I asked if they could put us near her section, so she could wait on us. I was told no! Mind you the restaurant was empty and only 3 other tables were occupied with a total of 8 (2 tables of 2 and 1 of 4) customers. After a back-and-forth, Gabriel the manager, who is a young man who has no cool about customer service. (Or how to keep customers happy) Was very dismissive of my request. He said he could sit us with another waitress Maria. I reluctantly agreed only to be told I had to wait for my party to arrive. Mind you the entire restaurant was empty. He would not sit me! With that I asked to talk with the owner who according to Gabriel was not in nor when he would arrive. I decided that if that is how they are going to treat a long-term customer. I didn't need to give them my money. I used to meet with friends and work partners there once a month on top of taking my family there. To make matters worse this place no longer has ham or Canadian bacon as a meat option. Very dissatisfied with how I was treated and dismissed as not important. Fortunately, there are many other places to meet for breakfast! Jill and Maria my apologies to you, you guys have been fantastic!

Always good food and don't skip the 49er Pancakes. They are made thin like a crepe and stacked 3 high and I believe they are about 13 inches round so bring a special someone to dip, drizlle and savor with. Service is always good too.

Thank you Blanca for your professional service! Our order was perfect! You didn’t miss anything. You returned to our table several times to check if all was okay.

Whenever my husband and I have a special occasion or simply in the mood for a great breakfast, we come here. It's about a 15 minute drive for us, but totally worth it. The service has never been terrible, but it isnt stellar. On our last visit our waitress was very sweet and knowledgable. Other times, they seem distracted. I really dont blame them, its always very packed with people on weekend mornings. However, the food definetly makes up for it! Everything is always fresh and delicious. This last visit I had the egg & ham scramble with THE BEST pumpkin pancakes I've ever had!! If you come in a large group ( 5 or more) its best to arrive early...The wait can be longer for larger groups. Since it's just two of us, we usually dont wait more than 10 minutes.

The food is incredible.. And the atmosphere is friendly. Very kid friendly too.

Fantastic breakfast! The staff is as nice a bunch of people as I have met in such a big city. Food was of great quality and was hot and fresh. Great waffles and pancakes. The service is unequal to any other! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

One of the best places we ate!.. service was excellent! So was the food! it was clean and well kept..

One of the better American Breakfast spots in Miami. Sometimes there is a long wait so come early and work up an appetite!

Saturday morning, busy time. Got seated right away. Décor isn't much but the food is. In my group they loved the pancakes and waffles. My eggs were nicely done. Coffee was very tasty. And the bacon was thick and crisp. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. A great family place.

I love this place! The Eggs Benedict or Apple Pancake is a must! Good service too! Check it out. I recommend it!

May be a great place to go during the week when they are not busy but don't go on the weekend. They have a very poor system of seating people and it's not first come first serve. We waited over an hour and a half. We watched several couples arrive after us and get seated before us. They don't take reservations so I can only suspect that they have some other method of priority service. Once you get seated the food is great but who wants to be treated like a second class patron?

I took the drive to Kendall from Coral Gables to have breakfast here. I have gone to the one in Aventura when I loved up there and have always loved and enjoyed their breakfast. Portions are large, service is great. The line to get a table can be large unless you go early. Take the drive...you will enjoy the food.

Excellent service from Mr. Ely, the food was very delicious, my family and I had an excellent time.

Qent for breakfast with my family. Waited almost ONE hour till the food finally arrived. It was cold and uneatable. I asked to speak with the supervisor, and instead of offering an apology and try to make things right, he simply said: we are understaffed. I can understand when that happens, but NOT when instead of trying to fix things, the manager wasn’t up to the position and simply shrugged. Will never go here again

Service wasn't terrible, the food was good for the value. Would go again!

We have been here before and everything was great. Today the service was horrible. No host to seat us and once we were seated we waited a very long time to order. No one even came over to tell us that they would be right with us. We just sat there waiting... after we finally got someones attention and ordered the food, everything came out quickly. I got the farmers fruit salad pancakes and my husband got stuffed french Toast. It was not worth the wait.

Wonderful please to have a honestly breakfast, well, at least the kind of breakfast your mom would have hoped you ate every morning; most servings will be more than enough for one person and some, like the Irish omelette could feed a couple of persons as well. Good is quiere tasty, service is good if not outstanding. Don't count on being hungry by lunchtime after a breakfast stop here.

Our Waitress Sofia is very efficent, the food is always good and on time Coffee is very good and the grits are the BEST!!

We have been going to this restaurant for many years. The food is good when it's properly prepared. On Saturday we ordered eggs benedict with crispy american bacon instead of Canadian and home fires. We got the Canadian and had to send it back. However, when our plates came back with the american bacon and we started to eat we noticed a metal or chemical cleaner flavor in the bacon. I gave some to our son and he said it didn't taste right. My wife's had the same off taste. We didn't complain, we just put the bacon aside and eat the rest. I am sure if we would have said something they would have corrected the problem but at that point we didn't feel like eating bacon. The service is always very good.

For several years, my wife and I have enjoyed going to the Original Pancake House (OPH) on Sunset Drive and 117 Avenue in Southwest Miami-Dade. That is....until Tuesday, September 24, 2019. After visiting Knowles Animal Hospital with our 9 pound, 18 y/o, blind mini-toy Schnauzer with a serious heart condition, my wife suggested we stop at the OPH a few blocks away for a bite. There were perhaps only two or three tables occupied with other patrons and the restaurant was virtually empty. We walked in with our little dog in my arms wearing her Therapy Dog vest as we have customarily done in many other welcoming South Florida restaurants. (Thank you to many of those restaurants e.g., Red Robin’s, Panera Bread, Olive Garden, Daily Bread, Texas Roadhouse, Sonny’s BBQ, Golden Rule, Capital Grille, Burger King, Chick-Fil-A, Arby’s, etc. for your warmth in welcoming ADA dogs and their human families). Immediately upon entering the restaurant we observed one of the long time waitresses give us an unwelcoming look before turning away and walking to the back. Seconds later a male employee met us at the front to tell us that ADA dogs had to be on the floor. We explained that she is elderly, blind and with a serious heart problem thus unable to walk on a leash. We also explained that no other restaurant, food retailers, stores or malls have ever had an issue with her, that she is with us everywhere, and that we always carry her in our arms. Still these people at this OPH refused us access and service, and asked us to leave because I would NOT put her on the floor. Your treatment was disgraceful and probably a violation of federal laws and the ADA Act. SHAME ON YOU!!!!! You have managed to lose a loyal patron. To be fair, I don’t know if this is the corporate mentality at all OPHs or just this one. In any event, it’s simply bad business. Thankfully Arby’s is right across the parking lot and most welcoming at that.

This used to be my Favorite Breakfast Spot. Whenever we would go out for Breakfast we would choose this restaurant. I even recommended it for a breakfast meeting place for a small group of leaders from my church(about 8 people). However, the last few times we've visited, we were quite disappointed with the taste(the pancakes have lost its distinctive flavor)and quality of the food. The service was not up to the standard we'd come to expect and today, to add to our disappointment, a guest came in, sat on the edge of the condiment table while watching his dog roam around the parking area . When the dog was finished, he opened the front door and brought the dog in and he and his dog took their place at the table next to us. This was clearly not a service dog. I asked the server if dogs were allowed and she said yes dogs were allowed at that table. Based on the above mentioned deficits, I'm guessing that the franchise is probably under new management. Needless to say, we will not be back and I suspect others have come to the same conclusion since at one point during today's visit there was only one other occupied table in the entire dining room.

Went for Sunday breakfast and the place was packed. I ordered the french toast which was very good and my GF ordered the bacon pancakes which were pretty good. There all came a la carte. The food here is extremely expensive and the service was not that great. Took forever to get coffee refill and never got water.

Decided to give this place a second try. Let me start by saying our waitress Jess was one of the best I have had. She should be working at a 5 star restaurant. She was always there to refill coffee and clean up table. My GF had the spinach crepe and i had the 3 cheese omelette with the pancakes that came with it. The omelette was excellent. I will definitely return and hope to get Jess again.

Was seated, was ignored by staff, two other parties were seated and served coffee. I continued to be ignored. Finally, gave my order to a server ( I think). I saw a third party seated ( the two other parties that were seated right after me were already served,) when the third party was served breakfast I got up and walked out. Do not have an opinion about the food since after 20 minutes was not served.

The greek omelet was great I just changed rhe feta cheeae for the mozarella and it was great it is a lot though. I also took the regular pancake with nutela. The service is good and fast. Fresh orange juice and they make the pancake mix fresh each day.

I used to love this place. Always had amazing breakfast. I had not been here in many years. It seemed like the menu selection had reduced. We spent $130 for 5 of us and it was not that good. The best were the crepes. The omelet was dry. The pancakes were overcooked and dry. We had to remind him of things they forgot to bring from our order. Service was okay. Coffee was okay. Sadly, for the prices and it be okay, it lost my business. There are too many other places that offer much better at similar or better prices. It was early in the morning, and there were empty tables and no wait.

Good service and very friendly servers. I became a regular at this restaurant mainly because of the crepes and coffee.

Went for a Sunday breakfast .....even though they were very busy we were sat in about 5 minutes....omelet was huge and very good!.....oatmeal was also made good and was served hot....the only bad thing was the home fries, they were over cooked, probably hours old and served cold....other than the home fries everything including the service was very good.....I would say its worth checking out....enjoy......

At the Aventura branch, Miami FL I ordered a Greek omelet and a cockroach came out inside!!!! Gross! Poor quality ! A disgusting place!!!! I do not recommend it

The service was awful, the pancakes cold and the management discourteous. At the end, they refused to honor a coupon for one free breakfast entree on the grounds that it didn't apply when one had ordered from the senior menu. That condition was nowhere stated on the coupon, nor was it explained by anybody ahead of time. My guest (whom I had invited for free breakfast) and I will never return.

There has been a recent change to this restaurant. New menu, clean, great service and food, and cooked just as we wanted. Our server, Daniela, was awesome. Very nice, patient, efficient, and attentive. I went for breakfast with my sister, and we both agreed it was a very enjoyable experience. We had hesitated, because in the past the restaurant had gone downhill. But we decided to give it a try, and it's definitely made a comeback. Great coffee as well. We would definitely recommend, and will visit again.

We went on a Sunday morning and our wait was probably 20 minutes which was not bad. The restaurant was packed and noisy but being in a Hispanic area I guess you have to deal with it. Our server was Jose and he was excellent, paid attention to detail and very polite and pleasant even though we could tell he had a lot more going on than he could handle and did so with a great disposition and never lost his smile. I ordered huevos rancheros and they were good and hot when brought to the table. The pancakes were pretty good also, it would have been nice to have had warmed maple syrup but I guess you can't have it all. The portions are just right, you will definitely not leave hungry.

A very nice Saturday morning breakfast. Quick friendly service. Tried the Greek Omelette and it was delicious! We had not been there for awhile because the last time we didn't have a good experience but this time it was very different. I will go back for a second Greek Omelette!

The place is very nice and the service is very good, thanks to my waitress Mariana for being so pretty and friendly, I felt very comfortable with her service, I congratulate her

I have been to many oph in fl and other states. We were taking our son and dil visiting from Sweden. Besides the prices going up drastically, the food was subpar. My husband and i both had tasteless omelettes. If you are paying almost $20 for an omelette with two slices of uncut, dry toast, it better have some flavor. The kids had a blueberry waffle and a skillet and they were fine. No coffee refills. $94 for breakfast which i don’t mind paying if it’s good. If you decide to try it, skip the omelette

Our waitress was fantastic. Didn’t write anything down and all 3 of us special ordered something and everything came out correct. My coworkers liked their egg dishes but my pancakes weren’t very tasty and the hash browns were greasy. Fresh orange juice was delicious.

Went to The Original Pancake House in Miami after looking for a place to eat sit down breakfast with the family - 2 adults, 2 kids. We arrived around 10AM on a Monday morning so there was no wait. The hostess welcomed and seated us right away. Our waitress quickly got our drink orders as well. The menu has a wide variety of options. Portions were good and the waitress stopped by frequently to check on us and to top off my coffee. When in town, will come here again for good value breakfast.

This place is not what it used to be. The crepes were not good, they were not tasty and the syrup tasted awful. We ordered a side order of hash browns, $2.69, and it was barely enough for one person. Another thing we noticed they have reduced the amount of toast they used to served, it used to be 2 slices, now is one cut in half. For what they charge it is not worth eating here anymore.

Sometimes the wait can be over 30 minutes, but most of the servers are very efficient. My son loves their chocolate chip pancakes.
Awesome place to breakfast
Marilyn was very attentive and friendly waitress She was wonderful the food was great love m blueberries pancakes and the environment was nice 😊
