Favorite Place (out of literally hundreds)

Best restaurant in Dallas for great food, lots of options, reasonable prices & atmosphere "off the charts." Plus you can sit and talk at length & there's no rush to leave. I highly recommend!

Food Paradise reccomendation

By aawoody |

Picked up family at airport & drove the 25+ miles to Ozona's at family's recommendation. Well worth the drive. We tried all three chicken-fried steaks & burger. All three steaks were superb & huge. Burger was perfect pink & great taste. Wait staff was friendly & kid friendly w/lots of funny quips. I highly recommend to anyone who wants the casual atmosphere & great food. Reasonable prices--$95 w/tip for 5 meals

Great open, fun atmosphere with good food

By tracydelos17 |

I like sitting outside when the weather is nice and sharing a meal with friends, and this place is one we go to a lot. The service is good and there is a good enough variety in food and drinks. I usually get the chicken tenders with french fries because it never disappoints at this place.

wonderful experience

By thollandam |

I went on a Saturday around 4pm, there was no wait. I heard about the place going to school in College Station, TX, but never went. I saw it on TV recently and decided to go. The service was great and the food was spectacular, will definitely go again, actually can't wait to do so, lol. I tried the chicken fried steak topped with queso, really tasty. The onion rings are really great. Everything at our table was good. The alcoholic beverages were good as well.

A side of ripoff

By AVGTXN |

Decided to be healthy and just order several sides. First, the menu doesn't list the prices of the sides, which seems a little dishonest. When I got my bill, I see that all the sides are $2 EXCEPT the veggie skewers, which are $9!!!!! And that's for six slices of zucchini, squash, and a little broccoli. When I questioned the price, I was told it's $9 whether you get the beef, chicken, or veggie skewers. What a rip-off. You can keep your patio. I'll never return.

Every time my family visits

By Kim Q |

Every time my family visits we are not disappointed! The catfish queso is a family favorite along with the enchiladas. Say hi to Issac, he will make an ordinary dinner into an experience; you’ll have to look for him he’s everywhere!

Outstanding patio - Craft beer options - Average food

By CraftBeers |

In nice weather, Ozona is the place to be. The outdoor patio is spectacular. The front stone gate enters the open-air brick courtyard. Large plants, stone fire pits and hanging lights accent the seating area. Next to the courtyard seating is a wood structure and covered patio seating. Everything outside is intimate, cozy and enjoyable. The indoor seating has a Mexican restaurant flair with slate flooring, corrugated tin on the bar, and wood slat walls. It has a worn homey feel. I was happy to see a dozen local craft beers on the menu from Deep Ellum, Lakewood, Four Corners and other Texas craft breweries. Knowing that have the craft beer offering and the wonderful patio, I'll be back. The food was just okay. The guacamole, chips and salsa were good. The chips were a little thick. The salsa had a nice smokey flavoring in it. The tacos al carbon were not tacos. They were flour tortillas with chicken inside. The ingredients were all mixed on a plate for me to put in the tortillas. The flavoring was average. I would not order them again. The tortilla soup was okay. It was not as spicy as I would normally like. The person sitting next to me loved his queso fried catfish.

HORRIBLE

By steph_reis19 |

I was appalled at the service offered at this place. I went for happy hour and was denied to purchase an alcoholic beverage because I had a TEMPORARY drivers license from the state of Texas (since I just moved to Texas from another state) and I had to surrender my physical license from the other state. I offered to show a photo of that license but was quickly denied. It was only 7:50pm and wasn't busy at all at the bar. I would absolutely never come back here because of the disrespect I was given after showing VALID forms of ID.

Great place!

By elaine k |

I went there to meet some friends. I went alone and felt welcome. Great atmosphere and good service. I would definitely recommend this place to any one of any age.

Good food and service

By jcjr2 |

Four of us went for dinner. Overall service was good. Three of us had chicken fried steak. Serving was large (think share it the next time), flavorful and tender. Range of sides were all good as well and also very large servings. The cup of cobbler for dessert was good particularly at $2.95 for a cup including ice cream. Will definitely try to make it back the next time we are in Dallas.

Rainy Day Lunch

By MarkMM55 |

We live Ozona’s patio and were disappointed that the day we picked turned out so wet. But, we went for a 1:00pm late week-day lunch anyway. The place was all but empty and it took a good while just for someone to come seat us! Odd. Even though the dining room was pretty empty they sat us right between the few people there which made the noise level super high. Again...odd. But, as always we enjoyed our meals. Ozone has a menu that allows most everyone to find something they like. But, if I had to sit inside every time, I would not enjoy it as much as I do. Too loud and just not the same vibe as that great patio. We’ll definitely be back, but if it is rainy...we’ll probably not. Nice day? Yep..we are there as the patio would be open. Two very different experiences for certain.

Great for groups

By Cheryl |

Love Ozona. They do not take reservations but I have called ahead for a group as large as 35 and haven't has a problem getting seated. The make your own Bloody Mary bar is awesome. Great food and service. Eaten here several times never a bad experience.

Great Brunch!

By txtraveler97 |

Great Brunch!

Horrible experience

By Josh W |

Couple of friends and I went to grab late night food and drinks. MISTAKE! The bartender was rude and awful at mixing the drinks (Bloody Mary's generally aren't layered with the mix and alcohol separate and no salt or limes or olives provided). The food was ok at best and when the bartender (sever as well) came back asked if the drink could be mixed better and the missing items could be brought, she said "We must be high maintenance."

Great Place for Mexican Food

By Linda C |

This a great gathering place for good food. Chips and salsa, queso, and guacamole are good appetizer choices. I had a delicious Taco Salad with fajita chicken that was so large I could not begin to eat it all. Everyone in the group enjoyed their entrée. Heard the chicken fried steak is the best, but can't try that when good Mexican food is available. Very good margaritas. Wonderful outdoor seating when the weather permits. Great service.

Outstanding!! I look forward to returning and hopefully get the same server, Raymond who was outstanding.

By BoardingPass458058 |

I have been to Ozana before and always enjoyed it. Today was special. Our server, Raymond, was outstanding and seated us right by the fireplace. I would highly recommend Ozona and if you’re lucky you’ll get the server Raymond.

Freakin YUM!

By Kristina H |

Okay, this place was so dang good! The chips are so perfect and the award winning warm salsa!!! I had the Chicken Fried Chicken w/ the queso option ... probably the best I’ve ever had. Even the green beans and the French fries were far from plain. We got there at 7pm on Thursday night and there was parking and no wait. They have valet but we found a spot right up front.

Raymond’s the best!

By Ann S |

Great weather and place for a patio breakfast with Raymond! Raymond was our waiter and he was so fun, prompt, attentive and courteous! We will be back and ask for him! Thanks Raymond!

One of the best patios in Dallas!

By Robert C |

In most any weather, this is a great enclosed patio to hang out. The food is also fantastic here. As much as I try to get something different, I can never stop ordering the tortilla-encrusted catfish.

Ozona's - best Bloody Mary bar in town!

By 5016DAH |

The BEST BLOODY MARY bar in town! (weekends). The weekend breakfast is great (both Saturday and Sunday) outdoor seating is really nice when the weather is good. Nice area for private parties by the patio area. Can get crowded on weekends, but the wait usually isn't that bad.

Best Patio in Town

By Paul P |

Hands down this is the best patio in Dallas. It is large and enclosed. No views of the parking lot or a busy street. The place also has sort of a hippy-dippy vibe. The crowd seemed to include a lot of aging flower children. In my late 50's I think I brought down the average age. I've been a couple of times over the last month, once for dinner and once for lunch. For the dinner trip with my wife I had a burger. It was good, but the fries that came with it were undercooked and cold. At the lunch with a business associate I had Mexican food. The tacos al carbon were ok. I thought the beans had an odd taste to them. When I came with my wife the service was very disorganized. It took almost as long for our drinks to come as it did the food. At lunch it was much better. I think this is a great place to have a beer and an app. Just order your second round with plenty of time to spare!

Best Bloody Mary Bar

By Dennis B |

We went here for Sunday brunch. A beautiful day allowing for comfortable outside seating. We ordered the Mina’s enchiladas which were great. We also ordered Bloody Mary brought in a tall glass with ice and vodka. You then go to the fixings bar to load in all the ingredients you like.

Blah

By 5562_0520 |

We stood at the door waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes, totally ignored by the wait staff. We were finally seated by a young lady that didn't greet us and had attitude. No smile, acted like she hated her job. Table wasn't ready and they left us standing there. Food was very so-so. The entire experience was just blah. Wouldn't go back.

Build your own bloody mary's for brunch. This is fun even when you're mixing a little hairofthedog. Also a popular SMU party and mixer spot - back in my day. They have a backroom you can rent out. Tons of fun!

Best chicken fried steak

By TexasTrails5 |

I would have to say this is my favorite chicken fried steak of anywhere I go, I have been several times and good every time, lunch portion is much smaller then dinner

Brunch outing

By jvbuzz |

Brunch menu is great, the bloody mary bar is more than one could ask for. The mimosas are huge! Food is outstanding.

Great food

By dynaman |

Love it that in all the years the quality is still as good as I remembered. . Chili Rejano with shrimp. Blue Corn tortilla with shrimp, tamale, spinach enchladas. Yum. Great drinks and service.

Dinner

By choo844 |

Casual ambience.Very good food choices and taste. Herb chicken was delightful and satisfying serving. Service was quick and friendly.

Best Bloody Mary’s in Dallas

By 978dana |

We have been here several times, and it is a nice place for couples, singles, or families. The food is great! The chicken fried steak is one of the best in town, and the portions are generous! The homemade Mexican food is delicious. The chips and sauce are exceptionally good. They are open most days of the week, and it does get crowded in the parking lot on the weekends by about 7:00 PM. The service is really good! Definitely a must for Bloody Mary’s, Mexican food, and chicken fried steaks. I am sure the hamburgers and other menu items are great, too!

Bad service, great patio.

By jgblu |

If you are going for food and good service, look elsewhere, BUT, if you want to go have a few beers under the shade of a big oak tree, this is for you. I make sure to never go here when I am looking for a nice dinner, but I always end up here when I am looking to share a few beers outside with friends. Take Ozona for what it is and you won't be disappointed.

Burgers, Mexican, Barbeque Done right

By Deborealtor |

Very casual-eat indoor or out at this restaurant which is similar to places found in Austin or Padre Island. Casual menu of burgers and Tex Mex with a great bar and a fun atmosphere. Be sure to try the Mexican Martini. Probably won't need a second!

What a trip!

By 1RB |

Great TexMex Sunday breakfast, but the Bloddy Mary bar is waaaaaaay over the top! Choose your vodka, and they bring it to you in a "shaker" glass. Then, you go to the bloddy mary bar, choose from over a dozen bloody mary mixes and hot sauces, clamato juice, etc., etc., and then "fillings"--celery, pico de gallo, cocktail shrimp, avacado chunks, marinated asparagus spears, it just goes on and on. I imagine the vodkas are priced differently; my Tito's brand was $6.25 or $6.50. This will definitely be on our agenda for every Dallas trip!

Fun restaurant decor, great service, so so food

By P W |

Portions were HUGE to the point of absurd. Tasted good, but my chix fried steak was very greasy and didn't sit well with my digestive system! I would definitely go back, but would avoid fried foods. A friend with my had the baked chicken and really enjoyed it. Also, the potato "wheels" (I think that is what they called them) appetizers were delicious.

Good food, great patio

By Carl S |

Good solid food with all choices well prepared. They have a wonderful patio designed more for warm weather than cold, but a wonderful place nevertheless.

Great service, and great food!

By Okie TK |

This is a hidden gem, near SMU campus. We went to Dallas, to see our nephew at SMU, he suggested Ozona Grill, and are we glad. The Mexican food was outstanding, and the service was great! We will remember this place, and return.

Third Time, NOT a Charm ...

By Frugal-in-Frisco |

I was really looking forward to taking my husband here for lunch, since I had been here a couple of times before with friends. We came in on a Saturday afternoon, later than the normal lunch crowd. The restaurant had plenty of diners, but it was not full, by any means. We were seated in a completely empty area toward the back of the restaurant for about 10 minutes before any server acknowledged our presence. Finally, someone appeared to take our drink order. During the time it took her to bring us two glasses of water, two other tables were seated in the same area. Not sure why she thought it would be okay to take their orders first, but that's what happened. In fact, she never returned to our table to take our order. We sat there for at least another 20 minutes, watching for the same server to return to the area, but to no avail. Then we tried to get the attention of another server who was now attending to a fourth table that had been seated near us. Finally, I got up and walked over to the bar, made eye contact with two servers on the other side, but both ignored me and walked away! I suppose they were too busy assisting other customers. Long story short, we left without ever seeing the original server again, and without ordering a meal, let alone eating a bite. It's troublesome that my two prior experiences have been pretty much negated by this visit. This member of the 12th Man was highly disappointed. I doubt I'll ever return.

GO!!!!!!!

By Steve G |

Okayt here is the deal. We don't eat beef but maybe once every two years if that. We saw this place on triple D of course took the plunge and went that following weekend. The chicken fried steak was yummy, maybe not as good as the Famous "Mary's" in Strawn,Tx but I really don't know if you can get better than Mary's!!! Anyway this was definitely runner up and the spinach enchiladas OMG!!! Last but certainly not least Ozona serves a Bloody Mary that you certainly get your monies worth. Of course you can do the build your own thing, we just didn't want to take time away from eating. This place is a fun atmosphere with a really great patio. All I can say is just GO!!! you will not be disappointed.

Love the Bloody Mary bar

By Jami V |

I always eat Sunday brunch in Dallas at Ozona's on Greenville. It is always good, and they have a great patio also.

Atmosphere and food good!

By johrene |

We sat outside, I was skeptical, it was July in Dallas! However, on their patio with the rock and desert decor and overhead fan, it was pleasant. The food was good, the tea cold and service was excellent!

Best Chicken Fried Steak in Dallas

By EnforcerFan |

My brother moved to Los Angeles many years ago and missed Texas grub. We had a couple of chicken fried steaks with cream gravy, although it can be served with queso or chili. Don't worry about the sides - you won't have room for them anyway. Local foodies hail this as the best CFS in Dallas. I cannot argue. Meat was tender, batter crisp, and gravy homemade. Serving is enough for 2-3, and I am a big eater! This is definitely a winner!

Very good chicken fry

By hoopsman86 |

Had the chicken fried steak. Very good. It would have been much better if the gravy had been homemade but I guess that would be asking too much these days. Mashed potatoes tasted legit and fries were fresh cut.

One of my favorite restaurants on our family vacation!!!!

By Foodaholic Jackson |

We saw this restaurant featured on Deep fried Paradise on the Travel Channel a long while ago, and have been wanting to try this place. Let me start out by saying this place served one of the greatest chicken fried steaks I have ever ate!!! The gravy was real homemade gravy, and NOT from a mix!!! My borracho beans and jalapeno fries were fantastic as well!!! My wife had the "cowboy style" chicken fried steak (w/chili, onions, and cheese) it was AMAZING!!! My daughter had the catfish w/pico de gallo, with onion rings and okra on the side. I had a bite of everything she had, it was great!!! The batter they use is also a homemade batter, and is fantastic!!! The place was busy, although parking could have been an issue, we were lucky to get a place up front, and the service was excellent!!!

Great Bar &Grill Near SMU

By GMH 7 |

This is a great little place near the SMU campus. The prices are reasonable, the food good, and the service decent. There is both inside and outside dining. The Cowboy Chicken Fried Steak is particularly interesting and good. . . Chili and cheese instead of cream gravy. Recommended, particularly for parents visiting SMU and having to feed a table full of your students friends.

Worst Restaurant in Dallas!!!!!!

By spacy8 |

I went with my family for a Mother's Day dinner and had the worst service I have ever had in my life. The waiter acted like he was on some other planet and we recieved our entrees along with our appetizers, soups, and salads. As my dinner group proceeded to explain this to the waiter and MANAGER we were COMPLETELY snubbed. We tried to express how awkward it was with the table being so crowded with everything and still..completley snugged with no apologies. We collectively decided to eat the entrees first in fear that they would get cold sitting there on the table while we ate the appetizers. Needless to say the appetizers, soups, and salads were wasted. We explained everything to the poor excuse for a manager. No compenation was offered nor apology. They still billed us for everything and the manager did not once apologize. Along with our scenario the entire room had also recieved their appetizers along with their meals. The spreading word throughout this room was mixed with dissapointment and pure anger. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not go to this restaurant. Before we left we asked the manager the name of his manager in which he refused the name. I don't know where he was from, but he seriously needs a class in customer service. And if you've been there before and you see a bald manager..that was him. I seriously feel for each and every one of you who have experienced these issues. If you are looking to go to a place where you get all your food at once and no drink refills..then have at it. If you are looking to go to a place where you're continuously ignored and disregarded then go here!! Needless to say, I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Good Chicken Fried Steak

By SCBlossom |

Good Chicken Fried Steak but pass on the tacos al carbon. Very good salsas and good cold beer. They could not do a virgin margarita for our designated driver. A sign said they do breakfast and brunch. Nice outdoor seating area.

Fun atmosphere

By 40jacie |

I came here with my family on a Friday evening. We called ahead because there were 10 of us, and the girl on the phone was really rude and sounded annoyed that we were calling ahead. I’m not sure if it was the same girl or not, but the hostess also seemed annoyed that we were there when we arrived. This initial customer service is the only reason I’m not giving 5 stars. We were seated on the patio, and Brandon was our server. He was great! Even though there were 10 of us, and he had another large table of children, he made sure we were taken care of. Everyone really liked their food, I had the chicken Caesar wrap with sweet potato fries and the fries were amazing. I drank Crown and coke and my drinks were strong, and my wife had a margarita which was also pretty strong. We all really liked the patio atmosphere, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

Excellent Experience

By duckhuntincherrypie |

On an extremely busy day, we were still seated rather promptly. Server accommodated our disabled guest very kindly with appropriate seating. The texas spinach salad was incredible, and the sweet potato fries are a wonderful complement. We thought it was great!

Nice local place

By Ron E |

Great outdoor seating if you want. Great food and service. Their brunch appears to be popular. If in the area worth the trip.

Never lets us down

By Keith T |

This place never lets us down. The Bloody Mary bar is the best we have ever experienced and the food is always exceptional. If you like eggs benny, it is a must try here. We live about 50 miles from this restaurant and if we lived closer we would be there all the time. Keep up the great service and food.

Bad customer service and even worse ambiance

By lphatcherjr |

From the time I pulled up to this restaurant I had a bad feeling about this place. I put aside my feelings and decided to give this place a shot. When I walked up to the hostess station I was greeted immediately. The hostess sat me down and gave me a menu. After waiting for about ten minutes my server decided to show up to take my drink order. Since it took so long to take my drink order I decided to order my food right then and there. I ordered a burger and an appetizer. The plate that the app was served on was dirty as well as the glass and silverware. My burger was very greasy and the bun was soggy. I paid my money and got out of there in a hurry. The only way I would recommend this place to someone is if they were drunk and every other restaurant in the DFW was closed and the person was having a diabetic episode. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!

Great food and quant place!

By Michael W |

Friendly fast service, great good! I love there extended patio shaded by trees . Great ambiance and great food. We will return anytime in the area.

First Time Problem

By Jim D |

Stopped by for lunch because this is one of our favorites. But not today! The BLT was just plain bad. Bacon tasted old and chewy. French fries were only warm. Very disappointed. On the bright side, the chips and queso were excellent. They season the chips that makes them more enjoyable. Good attentive service. Guess I'll stick withe the hamburger.

Great place to hand out in nice weather

By russkwtx |

Outdoor seating! Great place to have a beer or two during nice weather. Food is above average. I had a burger yesterday and it was pretty good. Also tried the potato wheels are like nachos but with potatoes instead of tortilla chips. Really good sweet potato fries. Happy hour, 4-7 M-F. Close to SMU, has private lot parking (but it fills up). Overall, cool place to hang out.

Get the Bloody Mary Bar before Anything Else

By jim6918 |

We went here on a Sunday for brunch and especially the Bloody Mary Bar. We were seated promptly on the patio which was perfect considering the warm weather. I wasn’t impressed with our server; not especially friendly but nothing rude that’s for sure. He just acted like he didn’t especially care to be there. Maybe I looked too much like a tourist, which I was, white socks and tennis shoes and all. The daughter had been telling us about the Bloody Mary Bar and it was everything I expected. There couldn’t possibly be an ingredient that isn’t included on the bar. You order the kind of Vodka you want and they bring it in a shaker glass and you doctor it up like you want. Wow, and I love Bloody Marys. I had the Migas and daughter and wife had the Eggs Florentine. All were excellent and the portions more than adequate. No doubt that this place will become a Sunday brunch favorite for future visits; just hope we get a friendlier server.

Mediocre!!

By Tanja D |

My husband and I left this restaurant very disappointed. The only reason my husband and I went there in the first place was because we were getting our car washed & detailed across the street. We began our meal with side salads w/blue cheese dressing. Unfortunately the dressing did not have a thick blue cheese consistency at all. It was so watery that we asked the waitress for a different kind of dressing. I can't remember what she ended up bringing us but it was something w/jalapeños. I ordered the so called popular "QUESO CATFISH" for my entree with Mac & cheese---I wasn't impressed with that dish at all. The queso cheese on top was watered down (very diluted) so I asked for more queso. My husband ordered the chicken fried chicken steak w/garlic mashed potatoes and Texas toast. The steak had way too much batter, breading was too thick. Not good! But the garlic mashed potatoes were good as well as the mac & cheese. I informed the waitress about our dissatisfied meal and she offered to buy us dessert. Which we did get (cheesecake) but it wasn't good either. So sad. After reading the reviews on this place I figured the cooks that were there the day we came in must not have been the regular cooks. I won't be back.

One of the Best Patios in Dallas

By MPH200 |

Great patio to hang out with your friends or family. Good drink specials. The menu has a good mixture of foods. Fried jalapeños are a great starter.

Good food in down-home setting

By alanlid |

My experience was maybe not typical, as I went with a large group who had a block booking, and Ozona lay on a buffet for us. Food was good - Tex/Mex., and not overly greasy (as Tex/Mex. sometimes is); no complaints about service (drinks came promptly when ordered). Pleasant down-home setting; we were half in half out (sol y sombra, you could say). Would go back when next in Dallas.

mediocre

By Dee T |

The service and food were mediocre---The waiter was not up explaining the beer listing---as there wasn't a list information explaining the beer and they were out of at least four listed. The kitchen and service were a disconnect; The house salsa and Queso were so-so---Our party of six ordered --and the food arrived in at same time but at various temperatures. The fries were either cold or appeared wilted---the catfish was bland under a thick breading ?? So it tasted flat. The spinach salad was over cheesed and didn't taste like a Caesar; croutons? I lived in Dallas twenty years and this place is certainly not the best-----so I asked around---folks who have eaten there--said same low expectations ----would never return-----

Best patio in Dallas!

By SBR |

This is a very pleasant patio for much of the year-shade available when it is hot; an outdoor fireplace for when it is cold. The food is mostly good--the Mexican items are excellent, as are most of the sandwiches. As another reviewer noted, the fries are not a standout; however, the fried jalapenos are! Good beer selection-they have recently started featuring more Texas beers. Waitstaff is usually competent and friendly. Overall, a safe bet for a pleasant lunch or dinner.

A place if you're young and want to have fun!

By bikerider04 |

This is a great place to have fun, eat some good food and get some great drinks! The elderly are 95% of the people who complain. It's not a high class joint so don't let those old bitties tell you, "this place is horrible because the waiter didn't put Pimento cheese on my sandwich." Avoid if you are old. Go if you want to have fun and listen to live music.

Just..... average.

By Dudley M |

I stopped by the Ozona Grill & Bar while in Dallas on a business trip. I tried the lunch special chicken fried steak with fries and a spinach salad. The spinach salad was excellent, with a slight spiciness to the dressing. The chicken fried steak with gravy was fine, although nothing above average. The french fries were, in my opinion, undercooked. They had a slight raw taste and texture. When the check arrived I mentioned the fries to my waitress who asked if I wanted to have them replaced, to which I responded that no, it was OK. She told me that she would bring it to the manager's attention. The next interaction that I had with the waitress was she collected my check and left with no mention of what the manager said. I would have expected some comment or a visit from the manager, but nothing. So I got up from my table and asked her if she told the manager. She said that she had. She said that it (undercooked) explained why the fries had such a white color that day. With that I left. I later completed a survey on the restaurant's website and the manager Cory Wauson contacted me directly and offered me a complimentary meal on my next visit. I had a hunch that the waitress did not convey my comments to the manager. I appreciate Mr. Wauson's commitment to customer satisfaction.

Great Place for Weekday Lunch

By Jim D |

Stopped by on a Monday for, lunch. Had the patio to ourselves. Outstanding service. Good queso and chips. We shared a bacon cheeseburger and it was excellent. Fries were hot and fresh. Love this place on the weekends, but the weekdays are even better. And a lot less crowded.

Very good but heaaavy food

By Paolo G |

Very good and tasty food..steaks and burgers..but quite heavy for my european stomach..deeply fried!!but good in general!!

Great brunch on the patio

By BethB75205 |

Great for Tex Mex and cold drinks while enjoying the patio atmosphere. A little cold outside but sat near the fireplace. We had four in our party with a baby, and the server was great in getting our food to us quickly. Recommend the omelets and Tex Mex dishes. Plenty of parking on Greenville compared to other restaurants.

Made in the Shade

By Donna C |

Fantastic chicken fried steak with milk gravy. Just enough crisped breading, tender juicy steak and almost covers whole dinner plate. Fried okra is the best. Spinach Salad simply unique with pecans and deep fried jalapeño garnish.

Don't go on Texas-OU weekend

By Carl S |

Food and service was great, but we went on Texas-OU weekend and there were lots of college age people there. Unfortunately a small portion were either rude or too drunk to behave properly. I think the management should have had a better handle on those customers.

Great Peach Cobbler

By SaintsFanGirl |

Service was a little slow as we went during the busy lunch hour. The food was good but the peach cobbler was some of the best I've had. Other quest really enjoyed the burgers and fries. Parking can be a little tight so try not to go right at peak time.

Great service and even better food!!

By Jennifer S |

My husband and I went here with our 10 kids age range 1 to 18 yrs old on a Saturday evening. We got seated right away and the service was awesome!! The food was really good. Chicken fried steak lived up to the hype. French fries and onion rings were homemade and great. The steak sandwich was delicious. Definitely recommend!!!

First Time Visitor - Fun!

By MarkMM55 |

I cannot recall how many times I have driven past Ozona without stopping as I figured it was just another Tex-Mex place and I already had my local favorites. However, this time my sister-in-law said she wanted to go to Ozona, so off we went. Let me say now how surprised I was! This IS NOT simply a Tex-Mex joint! The menu is varied, yes, it does include some Tex-Mex, but it is soooo much more. In fact I had the Big Frank...a very large hot dog covered in all sorts of goodness, my wife had the shrimp tacos, and another member of our party had a hamburger and another...I forget! We sat on the outdoor patio under some large Oak trees on a beautiful Saturday afternoon thinking all the while that we were in the Hill Country of Texas. I love this Ozona patio area!!! Our server did a fine job and was available to us as needed. Beer was cold and reasonably priced and everyone enjoyed their meals. After having missed out on this "hill country patio" setting for so long, I intend to return soon and enjoy what I have been missing again.

Perfect all the way!

Service outstanding, huge menu. Some of the best chicken fried steak I've eaten. Portions are ample prices are fair. Comfortable and casual. Beautiful outside seating wonderful TVs for watching sports.

Great Food but Horrible Service

By HelpMeExplore |

I have been going to this place since it was Cardinal Puffs but since the mangement change (and name change to Ozona's) the service has been horrible. I have stopped going there and I now go to Margarita Ranch right down the street. It's too bad because Ozonas has a great patio and atmosphere and awsome salsa and food. My husband and I went there and sat for 10 minutes at least and the waitress passed us by sevral times and never took out drink order so we left!

Great Service!

By Susan M |

Four of us went to Ozona's for birthday celebrations. We arrived at lunch and since the weather was fantastic, we asked the hostess to seat us on the outside patio. Our waiter Jeff took our drink order while we viewed the menu. I immediately decided on the queso catfish although there were some other very tempting entrees. Jeff delivered our drinks and took the order. Our food was out in about 10 minutes. Not bad since we had 3 queso catfish and one chicken fried chicken platter. All were delivered fresh and hot. The queso catfish was awesome. A crushed tortilla crusted catfish perfectly fried and topped with a queso sauce, topped with pico de gallo. I also sampled the chicken fried chicken. It was really good too! Do not miss out on the great desserts! I shared the chocolate bomb ice cream pie. A huge portion of chocolate ice cream with a graham cracker bottom filled with toffee and chocolate with frozen chocolate and chocolate sauce dripping all over. Enough for 2 people and only $4.50! The other 2 in our party shared the blackberry cobbler with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, also $4.50. We will go back to Ozona's again next time we are in Dallas.

Always good

Always good food. Service can be a little slow and uneven, but it's has a nice atmosphere and friendly vibe.

Best Chickenfried steak in Dallas

By Brian H |

Once again we wanted the best CF steak in town and Ozona's always comes through. If you want the great taste of a crunchy crust deep fried steak then this is the place. The meat is tender and gravy to spot on. If there are any onion ring lovers then do not pass up the Rings! great batter, hand cut, wonderful tasting rings..... also, don't forget the fried okra.. It was a fried food platter of heaven......

Plates as big as Texas

By R. Spencer |

Visited on August 3, 2015. Saw this resturant on the food channel and thought I would give it a try while in Dallas on business. The portion sizes are huge! I had the catfish with queso and my friends had the chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken with gravy. We all enjoyed our plates and had plenty left over to take with us. The meal was around $13. The fried mushrooms was big, juicy, and delicious! On Monday's the house margaritias are $2 and premium margaritias are $4. You can text Ozona to 878787 to get a free order of queso and chips that you can use once for the next 3 days.

Nice cosy place

By Natassia A |

Good food, big portions, very fresh. Our waiter Wyatt was great 😊 so friendly and professional. One of the reasons we will revisit this week.

Chicken Fried Steak Day

By Buddy B |

Heard through the grapevine they had the best CFS in Dallas . Tried it and guess what they do !KATHERINE our waitress was very quick and professional ! The CHICKEN FRIED STEAK reminded me of my mom's . They use real steak perfectly seasoned and tender . There is and old saying in Texas that is wrong about cutting CFS with a fork .. That is wrong the perfect CFS HAS TO BE SLICED did to thickness of steak and the quality of the beef . This steak is perfection ! Can not speak on anything else but the CFS is all we (3) had . Great music , lots of TVs GREAT PLACE

Can't exactly rave about...

By Jim B |

Can't exactly rave about O'zona - but for chips, salsa, beer choices, burgers, chicken fried steak and greasy chicken sandwiches w/ bacon & cheese, it delivers. Atmosphere/layout feels kind of Austin.

Best Patio in Dallas, and almost always a table

By Katie l |

Want to sit outside on a beautiful day? Go to Ozonas. Laid-back, open, outdoor seating under many of their large trees. We go here regularly during any season. They have heaters in the winter and fans in the summer. The drinks are great and priced well. Best Mexican Martini in Dallas. Most of the menu items are good, some things are better than others. The tacos are good and I have heard the burgers are too. The grilled chicken tenders and sweet potato fries aren't the best in town, but still good. I used to get the chicken fried chicken - EXCELLENT! Skip the chips and salsa, the chips are often stale. Honestly, the food is just good bar food. But, again, you go for the the patio and drinks; the food is secondary. I would recommend Ozona for any group of friends that wants to sit outside and socialize.

Ozona Grill & Bar (Dallas, TX)

By Jared K |

Ozona is right down the street from my apartment, which makes it perfect for an easy low-key dinner. One of the best things about Ozona is their massive outdoor patio. There are multiple sections and big picnic tables that are great for large groups. As you can imagine, Ozona is very popular with the nearby SMU crowd, particularly on weekend nights. I got a full rack (you don't have the option for a half) of baby back ribs. The menu offers the ribs with either a bourbon barbecue sauce or a Dr. Pepper barbecue sauce. I find that the soda-based sauces rarely taste like their namesakes, so I opted for the bourbon sauce. I picked their homemade fries as my side dish. The fries definitely tasted homemade, but they were extremely flaccid and limp. If they used a deep frier rather than an oven, they'd be spectacular. When my order came out, I was a little confused by the sliced onions and jalapenos scattered on top of the ribs. It just didn't make sense. I did notice a nice lingering spiciness from the jalapenos. There was no discernible bourbon flavor on my ribs. It made me wonder if they had used the wrong sauce, although it didn't taste like Dr. Pepper either. The ribs were most likely baked in the oven and finished on the grill. I used my knife on the first rib or two until I realized that my fork was enough. Actually, a dull spoon would have been enough to cut apart the completely overcooked rib meat. They weren't the worst ribs I've ever had, although I certainly wouldn't call them good either. My wife said her chicken quesadillas were really good. I'll probably go back to try some quesadillas or maybe a burger, but I won't be ordering their ribs again. Found on Food Paradise

By RWLloyd56 |

Saw a segment of this place on Travel Chanel's Food Paradise and decided to try it out. Goodness it was good. The Chicken Fried Steak was excellent and the Chile Pie was outstanding. The Salsa was unique and very good. Also enjoyed the guacamole very much. Can't wait to go back.

Good place!!

By Kunal K |

It is good place to sit with friends for a casual chit chat. Not noisy. Buffalo wings are okay, not great. I like the ambience of this place. Heard its famous for chicken fried steak. Will give it a try next time. The waitress was nice and friendly.

Great Salsa, Bloody Marys and Mojitos

By getupradio |

Great mexican place for friends and family. Nice patio area for eating and large groups. Salsa is warm and good. Food is priced nice around 8.99 to 11.99. Good alcoholic drinks priced nice. Happy Hour is nice also. You will enjoy the food, drinks and atmosphere.

Patio may be good, but restrooms are not

By Earlene S |

Wait staff is OK, but extremely slow. The owner really needs to watch and review servers. Food is OK, but seems to just be just big portions, with no special taste. Restroom floors are filthy - Management should power wash the floors and hallway into them. I was disgusted. Go there and see what you think.

Lunch and watch Texas Rangers

By Dandydn41 |

A great Greenville Ave, bar and grill. Good atmosphere. The Big tree shaded patio is very nice. Good food reasonable prices, good service.

If all you need is ambience, then rush -- headlong -- to Ozonas.

By Radigonda |

However, if you find you have a more discriminating palate, and are accustomed to at least a basic amount of adequate service, continue on your way. Pass the chance to dine at Ozonas ( you will miss nothing, and still go on to lead a happy, productive life.) The menu is not terrible so much as forgetable, pedestrian and mediocre. The servers are friendly but not particularly adept at, oddly enough, service. Were it not for the relaxed atmosphere and setting, Ozonas might not have endured this long.

Love finding new fav's on Trip Advisor!

By lindafosters |

My husband and I loved our very delicious relaxing breakfast at Ozona. We had Huevos Rancheros. YUM!!! The wait staff was friendly and helpful! Ozone's decor is so fun and eclectic you can look forever because there is so much to see. It was a little cool for us to sit on the patio so we were sat by a window where we could see the large outside fireplace. We were a little envious of the families that had chosen the patio, beautiful! After the large breakfast we decided to brave the chill and walk it off by going to the Bush Museum and Library by foot. All a great decision. Also, have always loved the little West Texas town of Ozona. We are not sure why the town inspired the owners to name the restaurant Ozona, but we think the restaurant represents the laid back spirit of the town well! Izona Bar and Grill is a must go if you are in the upper Greenville/SMU/Highland Park area of Dallas!

Good happy hour

By russkwtx |

Went here for happy hour with a friend--4 to 7 pm. Decent selection of beers. I ordered the Barnhart nachos ($12.25) which were pretty good. I skipped the meat and just had chicken which was smoky and tender. The nacho are big round tortillas. There were 5 to the order--way too much for one person. Good flavor but miserly on the guac and sour cream. You have 5 huge nachos and you get one tablespoon of guac and one tablespoon of sour cream. I did not see any pico but I think it was baked on. They came out barely warm so that was not good. All in all, I would get them again and hope that would not sit so long. Parking is a pain in the you know. That's probably the worst thing about Ozona. But what are you going to do?

Great porch, good food

By Kaptx |

One of the best porch’s in Dallas for outdoor sitting. Food is good as is the service. Good variety of snack food and drinks. Easy parking.

Chicken Fried Heaven

By Syd K |

Seen it on the travel channel and had to come here. Everything was amazing!! Service was outstanding!! Lance took awesome care of us. Queso on a chicken fried steak! Why haven't anyone else thought to do this!!! I would have gave it 10 stars if I could.

A little less than Expected

By cokerbud |

Someone claimed they had the best chicken fried steak....they lied . It was good but greatness was not on the menu. Also had tacos al carbon at the table which really did not even make average. The peach cobbler was good and the service again was average. Gotta say that indigestion ruled the night which is not a common thing. Perhaps tums should be added to the menu. I would go here to drink but there are way to many choices in Dallas to eat here.

Always a good meal and service

By StorminNorman50 |

Have visited Ozona Grill many times over the years. My visit last week for lunch was really good and consistent with all my other meals, mostly lunch. I've tried a variety of things on the menu and they've all been good. Consistently good service. Mostly Texas type/style cuisine. Really nice patio with shade and trees when the weather is good. Definitely worth trying this place.

Great place for brunch on the outdoor patio

By Stephanie D |

Ozona has a huge outdoor patio with full grown trees throughout offering shade and fans to battle the Dallas heat. The brunch menu is excellent, focusing on tex-mex favorites, and a make-it-yourself bloody mary bar. The clientele ranges from couples of all ages to families and groups of friends.

Biggest Double Cheeseburger I ever ate!

By Donald M |

We were told that the hamburgers at Ozona's were great, and they were! I had the Ozona Burger (actually two hamburgers) with a fried egg on top of the cheese. The thing was so big I could hardly hold it in my hand. But I ate every bite! The fried okra appetizer was also excellent, as were the sweet potato fries, and the salmon taco's according to my wife. We had a large group, but the service was very good. We ate outside and it was a little warm, but they have large fans to keep the air moving. It was pleasant being outside, which had nice character, and interesting things to look at. Pricing was very good. Four of us ate for about $65. That included some beers, so very reasonable. This is a unique eating experience, and if you love burgers you have to try this place.

It's a club sandwich..................

By tomthbomb |

Had a club sandwich on my first ever visit here. It was ok but nothing special. Ask to sub a side salad for the fries. That cost a dollar extra. I sat at the bar to watch a baseball game. The service was good. My ice tea glass was always full.

Very Poor Service

By Jim D |

Wife and I decided to visit them on a Sat. Afternoon. The restaurant was about a third full since the weather had closed the patio. Took about 5 minutes before our waiter showed up. Another 5 to get a water and a drink. The queso was excellent along with the best chips in the area. But it stops there. Our hamburger was over cooked and Luke warm. It may have been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. The fries, which are usually excellent, were stale and warm. They had bviously been under a heat lamp. To top it off we had to flag down a hostess to get our check. Our waiter seemed to have disappeared. Hope this is not a continuing downward turn.

Good food but long wait.

By dctalktexas |

We really enjoyed the meal after we finally got a table. We went here with another couple on Thursday night. We got there about 6 pm and there was a long wait. Hot sauce and chips were really fresh and tasty. I got the steak salad and would definitely eat it again. Would love to go back here but only if we can go earlier so it is not too crowded.

Good burgers. Check into specials, and the drink prices are pretty good!

By Virginia O |

Good burgers. Check into specials, and the drink prices are pretty good!

Good food, absent server

By AVGTXN |

Friday night. With the heavy rain, the crowds were light, so we could hear each other talk. The chips/salsa were great, especially the warm salsa. My tacos al carbon were actually quite good, but my companion's soup was lacking depth. Our server was largely absent. I couldn't get a drink refill, and we waited a long time to get the check.

Great patio for summer!

By Matt W |

Cold beers, great patio, mediocre food. It's a fun night out, but don't exactly expect to have your mind blown by the menu. It's basically a glorified patio bar, but that isn't a bad thing.

Seriously?

By Dave R |

I am not certain why this place is so popular. I think its cause Dallasites have become accustomed to mediocre Tex-Mex or what passes for it. Walk in and the place reeks of cheap. Menu, drinks and chips are Walmart variety. The food is bland. The servers are average. The atmosphere "We put it here, be happy, or be somewhere else". Not certain why it packs a crowd. Must be the "cheap, lousy, Tex-Mex is for me" crowd.

Great Texas food

By Rolando C |

Great atmosphere great service great food. Large portions. Had pork chops and they were great. Garlic mashed potatoes were great.

Best Chicken Fried Steak in Dallas?

By Keith D |

Ozona may have the best chicken fried steak in Dallas. Your choice of two sides plus Texas toast are the accompaniments and we chose mashed potatoes and green beans. Beans were delicious and the garlic masked potatoes were above average with just a hint of garlic. The chicken fried steak had great breading, tender meat and was fried to perfection. The cream gravy was excellent and we found ourselves sopping it up with the toast.

Great outdoor space

By Kakidu |

Definitely go for the outdoor dining. The patio area is very large and meanders through several different spaces. The food was pretty good, too. The chicken-fried steak was really good. It was a very large portion of southern goodness guaranteed to contribute to clogging your arteries. The margaritas were very good too.

Good food, excellent service, great porch

By Kaptx |

The food is good, but the real draw is the outdoor patio. Also, the service (Lisa) was very good. The menu is diverse and casual All in all, a great place for a casual lunch.

Yummy Food, Always Predictable

By Allen G |

Ozona's is one of those places that's just been around a while and stays it's nice, normal, very good self. Not only is it a nice place to go for a hot drink in the winter, or a cold beer in the summer, it's a really nice place for a sit down lunch.

Large restaurant with a huge bar and patio

By Christin |

Really enjoyed the many options on the menu. I had the tortilla soup and house salad with non-fat cucumber dressing. Great portions of both for a satisfying lunch with a few drinks! Would recommend coming at night to enjoy a cool temperature on the patio.

Awesome st paddy’s day

By Matalin M |

Raymond absolutely killed it. He was so attentive despite it being during rush hour on st paddy’s day. Incredible food. Awesome service.

Everybody loves Raymond

By Terry W |

Burger was big and juicy. Food overall was good! Service was outstanding. Ask for Raymond. Best server ever. He is on top of his game! Everyone loves Raymond!

Love, Love, Love their Patio and Voted Best Chicken Fried Steak by D Magazine

By Deb Streit |

I love outdoor dining and this patio has great Ambiance! Huge Trees provide shade from the Texas Sun along with A couple of Cabanas. They even have a stone fireplace on the patio and antique red brick flooring! As far as the food goes their chicken fried steak is awesome, their Texas Spinach Salad with honey mustard dressing is delicious and another favorite of mine is the Southwestern Steak Salad which I order with Blue Cheese Dressing and for a special treat try their Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar on Saturdays from 8am-4pm!!....I have dined here alot over the years and have never had a bad experience. On the weekends they attract a well behaved college crowd since they are so close to SMU.

Disappointed

By 40jacie |

My wife and I returned here for dinner after a really great experience the first time we came with our family. There was a wait so we decided to sit at the bar. The main letdown was our server/bartender, Meghan, especially compared to the great service we had last time. She seemed like it was a bother for her to serve us and just all around provided poor service. I also got my food with a hair in it, which to Ozona’s credit was promptly remade and a fresh plate was brought out to me. The other bartender (didn’t catch his name) was excellent and very friendly and the food was okay, I just wasn’t impressed with Meghan’s attitude.

Lots of Munchie Food

By AngiMarie68 |

I got the steak quesadilla and OMG was it fabulous! The staff was great, the food was great, and the value was right on the money. The guys got chicken fried steak... Yummmm! My other friend got nachos and they came on tostados and it was enough food for at least 3 people. This place is awesome and I will definetly go back again.

While looking for a place to have lunch...

By Alberto Gardellini |

First time in Dallas and I stumbled upon this place while starving. The place had many cars parked outside, so it was a good sign. Frankly, I didn't know it was a Mexican restaurant until I sat down and read the menu, but it was no issue since I love Mexican food (and I was starving). The place has a rustic feel, but more like a mountain winter cabin than a Mexican saloon. Regardless, I decided to have the homemade chili, that was excellent, while my dad had the beef tacos al carbon, that were plentiful and very good too. The service was good, fast and courteous. All in all, a good choice for a no frills lunch and maybe a beer or two. They have a lovely outdoor patio that seems to be the highlight for the place. Looked amazing for happy hour.

Lots of good, one major bad

By TexasClaire |

First the good: a spinach salad I could eat daily for the rest of my life. Fresh spinach, mushrooms, bacon, fried jalapenos, with honey mustard dressing applied just lightly enough to enhance, not overpower. So good! Luscious mac & cheese, chili pie a bit spicier than expected but delicious, great onion rings, breading on the chicken-fried steak crisp, cream gravy fine. Not good: the 'Texas' toast was just regular bread, not thick enough to merit being called 'Texas', but the biggest problem was the extreme toughness of the chicken-fried steak. I would NOT order it again.

Great brunch!

By WBJM2009 |

We had Sunday brunch at Ozona and loved it! We sat outside which was so nice! They have a bloody Mary bar where you can customize your bloody mary to your liking. Everything we ordered was great and very large portions. The stack of four pancakes is huge!! Service was ok - not very attentive, but we were not in a rush. We had three children under three with us and they were entertained by the tvs, coloring sheets, and just being outside. Will definitely return next time we are in Dallas.

Great Restaurant!

By Joy F |

Great choice for dinner! Food was so good. My husband had Chicken Fried Steak Queso Style. He loved it! I had Chili Releno stuffed with shrimp...so good! Our 4 year old was with us & they brought crayons & kids menu/coloring pages for her. Several choices for & I noticed choices for breakfast or brunch too. Our waiter was very attentive & had our glasses filled before we asked for more. We will be back!

Brunch with friends

By jdkrup77 |

We always love having brunch at Ozona. They have an amazing Bloody Mary bar and $10 mimosa pitchers!!! For her meal, my wife ordered the salmon tacos. They were fresh and flavorful, served with a wonderful sauce, beans and rice. I ordered the "pick three" Mexican platter. I chose the chili relleno, pork tamale and chicken enchilada. All three were very tasty and I left very full! It was a great atmosphere for a casual brunch with some old and dear friends.

Horrible

By Schellma |

The Buffalo wings we had to send back ..horrible. chicken fried steak was frozen. ...don't waster your money ...

Love this place

By pboroughs |

Each time we go to Ozona, it is great. From salads to chicken fried steak, you can't go wrong. A nice little garden in the busy city. One of my favorites ever.

Ozona Grill & Bar is awesome!

By Joy F |

I had Chicken strips w/ Spinach salad & Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The best Spinach salad I have ever had!! I will have it as the meal next time! The staff was so friendly and our waiter, Matthew C, was great! He brought us extra napkins & lemons for our water without being asked. My husband loved his steak strips. Their food portions were enough to have leftovers another day. Outside seating, bar seating, and sit down dining options. Love this place!

Great patio with wonderful staff

By Kiwi_Hels |

What a lovely restaurant with brilliant staff who knew we were struggling with a noisy table next door so moved us without issue. Lovely Margaritas both fresh and frozen!

Great shaded patio for weekend brunch

By capitollover |

I had the best restaurant Eggs Benedict I have eaten in a long while. They come with fried potatoes, and a mixed fruit bowl. It was far more than I could eat. The portions are so large that the server didn't even wait for our party to ask for to go boxes, he just brought them out. Many of my companions availed themselves of the Bloody Mary Bar, which is a highlight of Ozona. They offer so many items to put in the Bllody Mary that it is almost a meal. We sat on the shaded patio which had numerous fans to cool the July heat. Our waiter was very efficient, but did not hover. Overall, a great experience.

It was Ok

By TravelingChuckNas |

Had the chicken fried chicken. Nothing special. Only thing I found killer were the jalapeno fries. Service was ok. If you want to wait for average food, this place is for you.

Large and delicious portions

By DDay1959 |

We stopped in here on our way to downtown Dallas. The parking lot was packed so we decided to try this place and I am glad we did. First of all the portions are quite large. Second of all everything was really tasty. Come hungry and leave full.

Great patio! Liked this...

By CharlotteVDallas435 |

Great patio! Liked this better when this was Cardinal Puff's

Very good for a large gathering

By Nick J |

We had a large gathering scheduled here on a Sunday. The staff was very accommodating and, whereas we didn't have a private room, there was plenty of space for us to congregate and talk. Others in the room were watching a football playoff game, and there was enough room that they didn't interfere with our activities at all. The food we had was appetizers and was much better than your normal bar food appetizers. You can tell that the ownership and staff at this establishment prides themselves on making sure your group is having a good time and is well taken care of.

Lunch

By Chaderboxx |

I great place. Great atmosphere. We had lunch there. Food was excellent. Would definitely recommend this place. Would definitely go back.

Good Find!

By Crystal R |

We went there two times in two weeks and had great experiences both times and neither time was crowded. My tortilla crusted catfish would have fed two or three people. It is huge portion. Our party had several different option choices and everyone enjoyed their meal. It's been too hot for me to enjoy the patio, but I'd like to go back when it cools off and try it out! There's valet parking and parking across the side street also.

Lunch

By James T |

Great meals, as usual! Patios earring as well as indoors! Great menu that satisfies every time! Service is outstanding! JimT

Awesome food, plenty of it

By grishesmonimoni |

Awesome staff, courteous, accommodating, all orders were correct, food was hot and delicious, The chips, salsa and queso were delicious! The iced tea was great! The chicken fried chicken, chicken strips and steak were superb! The only complaint is the mashed potatoes were thin, they tasted fine, but were soupy and didn't pile on the plate nicely. We'll definitely be back!

Great patio and love $1...

By Jason S |

Great patio and love $1 ritas on Mondays; however, the food is pretty standard

Good food overall, skip the french onion soup

By TiffanyPrice24 |

Ozone grill has the best sweet potato fries! They are delicious. I ordered the lunch French onion soup and a side salad with 1000 island. The soup was extremely salty and I wasn't able to enjoy it. The 1000 island dressing on the other hand was very thick and very good. My husband loved his bowl of chili with fresh jalapeños. I can't wait to try something new from their expansive menu next time!

Ozona's has my favorite patio in Dallas and the food is great!

By MsDMS |

Ozona's patio is especially wonderful at night with all of the twinkling lights, the trees, and the casual atmosphere. It almost feels like you're joining a party. Great food choices, delicious margaritas, and super service. I particularly like their open-faced steak sandwich, but everything is good! In the wintertime get there early and get a table by the fireplace-you'll love it!

Great outdoor space

By melinda612 |

We were looking for a place with a great outdoor space and this was it! Great patio and great food was a bonus. We split the steak sandwich w 1/2 sw fries and 1/2 onion rings. The sandwich was spicy but good. The server was very attentive.

Brunch

By Harvey8380 |

They serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday and it was totally awesome. They also have a bloody Mary bar that's pretty cool also. Make sure if you go there ask for the server Kimberly she was fantastic and phenomenal. We will go back there again when we go back to Dallas.

Consistently Good

By Jim D |

One of my favorite "go-to" places in Dallas. You can always depend on a really good chips and queso. The Chios area armband lightly seasoned. The Club Sandwich was excellent and the service attentive. Sitting outdoors always makes it more pleasant. The only strange thing is that the Taco Salad has no taco meat. You have to pay separate it. Maybe it's a vegetarian taco salad. Overall, still a consistently good meal.

Wonderful Patio

By Carl S |

Good food that you can have indoor or outdoor on their wonderful patio. Only issue, if you go on the weekend, you may be overwhelmed by Southern Methodist University students. If that's not a problem, then go ahead.

Excellent as always

By travellets |

Great spot to relax and enjoy good food and service! Always dependable and comfortable spot to meet friends and enjoy the patio.

Great brunch and weekday...

By BackPacker56044 |

Great brunch and weekday happy hour. Best neighborhood patio to hang out with friends.

Glad we picked this for our brunch spot! Kid friendly!

By Kbyn1184 |

After reading many mixed reviews on this spot we decided if it was bad then we could just leave and go to the rusty taco right up the street! We went on the sunday of memorial day weekend for brunch! Taken right to our seats, even though the area we sat in had two other families near by with small toddlers (one of which was screaming but that's no fault of the restaurant!) our waiter was wonderful, friendly and everything we ordered was 100% correct and yum! The bloody mary bar is awesome and literally has everything to make a perfect bloody mary!! The food came out quickly, I ate the migas (super!!) the serving size if huge, the kids meal could feed a less than hungry adult! OVERALL great experience!!!!!! We had our 1 year old with us and it's a very casual, kid friendly spot!

Worst Table Service Provided in 2024

By Texas_Travel_1 |

Worst Table Experience in 2024! We had a large party. I explained to waiter there would be arguements over checks and to provide individual checks. Waiter was tipped in advance of table's arrival in ensure individual tickets would be issued. The waiter then allowed on guest party to pick up several tabs including my own tab. Food service was tremendously spiraled downward. My scrable eggs were runny (too smooth). Bacon was served raw and limp. Roasted potato contained a lower rosemary and herbs. Table utencils (knife, fork, spoon, napkin) were not present at all seatings. The outdoor seating has been adjusted. LESS SHADED is provided. My conversation with the General Manager was not satisfactory. I do NOT recommend Ozona Grill.

Very disappointed

By Jim D |

We've eaten here several times and it 's always been acceptable but today it was just terrible. The server was umattentive from the start. The queso was served Luke warm. Our hamburger buns were soggy , the meat over cooked and the fries were stale. The restaurant wasn't busy so the staff was too busy visiting with each other. Just not up to par,

An interesting place to eat

By 484karlc |

The food here is delicious and the service is great. The atmosphere is interesting because there are so many rooms and and corners where you can eat, including an outdoor patio. It is also very clean. The steaks were especially flavorful.

Good food & service , mixed ambience

By GPZachary |

After seeing Ozona on one of the national food shows, my wife & I decided that we would visit on our next trip to little d. I saw on prior reviews to text for free Queso & chips. While it didn't go through, the waitress saw my text & honored the offer! My wife had the Chicken Fried Steak , fried okra ( fresh from the garden) & French Onion soup. I ordered the Queso Catfish , sautéed spinach & tortilla soup. Both dishes were prepared well & were delicious. The one drawback I had was the ambience. We entered & noticed many empty tables in the main dining area, alive with conversation & activity. Instead we were led into the back to the "garage" , a cold (literally) room with a few tables occupied with families with small children. Every table filled while dining were filled with other families , sporting young toddlers. I asked about the main room & was told they were reserved . Funny , on the way out they were still empty!! My wife & I are not hip, nor are we old hippies. We are grandparents , but we don't wish to dine with multiple families , who we don't know & their screaming, crying toddlers. Our request to dine in the main room was denied , we feel because , God forbid , we're silver haired! The fact that they still had space available there when we left & they continued to seat families in the back with us confirmed our thoughts. While the food was worthy, due to this we won't be back during future visits to one of our favorite weekend getaway cities.

Our go-to restaurant for over 15 years

We have been going to Ozona for many years now; what keeps us coming back is the food and the atmosphere. Ozona has one of arguably the best outdoor patios in Dallas. There are huge trees, fireplaces, covered areas, a bar... everything you need. If you do sit inside, the warm/cozy interior will remind you of a ski lodge and with at least three fireplaces, this is one of the best places to go on a cold night. Ozona attracts a wide range of people from SMU frat boys and HP rich people to regular folks and East Dallas hipsters: no one will feel out of place. I will add that in all the years we've been going there, we've regularly complained about poor service, but the truth is we keep going back because we love it.

TA Needs a Good rating

Better than average, this kitschy spot is a fun group hangout. I’d call food average, service was friendly and prompt. You pay for chips and......we chose queso and it was week and needing flavor. Shrimp tacos needed spice or flavor or something and anything with shrimp was priced pretty high. Found the marg a bit weak. Price and value ratio could use a tune up but I would come back, especially with a group

New hangout for us

Today is our 44 wedding anniversary. Wanted to go to a new place and got this. So fun and cozy. Great chicken fried steak and the fried jalapeños are the best ever. Want to return soon.

great southern foods!

By Lauren I |

My husband and I are travel nurses from KY so we were looking for some good southern home cooking and was glad to stumble upon Ozona. I got the chicken fried steak and it was HUGE, it was soooo good the gravy was to die for! Also try their queso it was very very good! My husband got the chili pie and it was great but not nearly as filling as the steak. My only complaint would be the timing of the food. It wasnt that busy and we barely got 2 bites into our salads before our entree was there so by the time we were ready to eat it it was cold :(

Bloody Mary Bar!

Even if you don't like Bloody Mary's the make-your-own Bloody Mary bar is impressive. The brunch was great and everyone had a great time. Cool decor too.

Great Brunch and great service!

Really enjoy Ozonas all the time but especially like their brunch selections! Celebrated my mom's birthday here and our waiter did an excellent job of making her feel special. I am super sad I cannot remember his name to acknowledge him here but he was super bright and cheery on New Years Day/morning. Thanks for making the staff a top notch one for your customers!

Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere!

While in Dallas we saw an advertisement for this restaurant in a magazine. It's in a very nice part of the city. Perfect restaurant if you want to eat outdoors, but indoors is nice also. The food was delicious. Several tv's with sports playing inside and out. Wait staff was attentive and friendly.

Not sure what all the hype is about

I don't really understand why people think "Ozona is sooooo good". I think the patio is awesome & nice to just sit at & enjoy a few drinks with friends. But the food is at best average if you ask me. And one BIG downside of the patio? - People can smoke so it can really ruin your experience. The patio isn't enough to keep me going back.

What a FABULIOUS place

Every time we go here we have the best food, drinks and experience. We typically go for brunch after a great night with friends the night before. They have the BEST Bloody Mary Bar and it is worth going there just for that. However do not miss out on the Eggs Benedict. One of the best places I have ever had Eggs Benny other than one other place in Atlanta GA. We haven't been in the area for awhile and are looking forward to going back as soon as we are. We have had dinner here as well and have never been disappointed with any food or service we have ever had.

First time, not last!

Loved the decor, loved the vibe, big portions of food that were really tasty even though my husband had the chicken fried steak with queso and he said it was "okay/good". I had an Ozona Margarita sangria swirl that was just okay but the service was great. I didn't find out until after we left that they serve complimentary chips and salsa but we left stuffed. Great place for gatherings. I will go back because overall I liked it and had a good time.

great atmosphere, average food

If you're looking for a great outdoor spot along Greenville Ave then this place works well. It has a large seating area to people watch. The food was a bit disappointing though. Chips, salsa, and queso were flavorful but the entree of enchiladas and chili relleno was overpowered by cheese and had very little taste.

Fun and funky

We had a good time here. The food was good, as was the service. I would definitely go again.
