In an area of Mexican choices, this one stands out with experience in pleasing its customers. The food is well prepared and tasty with numerous choices.

This place looks like a Mexican cantina - food is fairly traditional Mexican, spicy and fun...prices are very reasonable and the place has a Mexican ambience...check out the stuff hanging from the ceiling! Staff are friendly and efficient but parking can be a problem, so go out of rush hours.

Homemade flour tortillas are super yummy!

The service here was great, the good was pretty decent as well. My boyfriend was not super fond of part of his entree, and they brought him a new one, no questions asked. The appetizer of queso and chorizo is so GOOD!

Been going to Paco's Tacos for over 25 years. The fresh handmade tortillas are great. Chips and marinated carrots and onions are brought right away to your table as you decide what to order. Service is good, but be prepared to wait for a table. The host will gladly bring you a nice cold margarita while you wait! If you can't decide what to order you can't miss with the chicken taco and enchilada combo plate.

just the name is good

We go to Paco's a lot. We eat there and sometimes get it to go. The food is great and you will love it. There can be a wait to sit but it won't be too bad, so just bear with it. I do think they take reservations, we just always forget. When ordering your take out, call it in and it will be waiting for you. You can also order right there, but it will take about 15 minutes as everything is made fresh. The best thing about Paco's is they make their own corn and flour tortillas fresh, there is a woman sitting near the tables and that is all she does. They are the best tortillas I have ever had. The service is great and super friendly. The manager is just wonderful, he may be the owner, I am not sure. There are two locations, but this one is the best. There is another on Lincoln Blvd. in Westchester which is also great. Everything there is great and having gone there now for over 20 years, I have had the entire menu. You simply can't go wrong. Even their chips are good. Have the best time.

Great place and great, authentic food! A bit trendy due to its location, peak hours will find you looking for parking and waiting for a table. If you have some extra time to plan, you can get effectively the same food at the Westchester location which has a much larger dining room and a bar too.

This was true Mexican food! It was enjoyable to get to experience a part of my heritage. They not only serve margaritas but you have get a whole liter if you would like!! It was a really busy place, not much parking but well worth it!

This is a great Mexican restaurant-very simple decor and menu but food is excellent. Place can get very crowded on weekends-we ordered takeout but the wait on Saturday night when we were there was 40+ minutes. And parking can be a challenge on Centinela, but you can find spots on side streets.

We visit Paco's Tacos every time we visit the LA area because they have the best food, the BEST homemade flour & corn tortillas and they are reasonable priced. The waiters & waitresses are awesome. The only thing that is inconvenient is parking. But that is all of LA.

Had dinner here today. Had margaritas and the All Pork Burrito with Carnitas. The margaritas were very good but pricey at over $7.00 each. The burrito was tasty but I forgot to ask for cheese on it. It came dry with no sauce so I dumped salsa over it so it wasn't so dry. Ordered a side of flour tortillas and butter. (This is a must!!!) The fresh flour tortillas are made in front of your eyes in the restaurant and served to your table! Reason we returned here! The plain burrito was $ 9.00. Fiance had the Chicken Chimachanga and said it was Great! and served with a sauce over lettuce and tomatoes sides of rice and beans with cheese at $11.25. Parking is atrocious with this location!!! I am handicapped from out of town. I had to be dropped off and fiance parked car down the busy street literally. The multi unit building has a small parking lot NOT FOR USE BY PACOS TACOS PATRONS OR YOU WILL BE TOWED. They have 3 or 4 parking spots in rear of building with handicap spot but I forgot to bring my placard to Los Angeles. I wished to give this restaurant a 5 out of 5 but the plain burrito and parking, I could not justify a perfect score. That being said we highly recommend this restaurant and they have a nice menu and atmosphere is authentic Mexican as well. Drinks pricey and menu food items priced ok.

This restaurant is perfectly adequate. The food was acceptable, the portion size was fine, and the quality was there. But it wasn't anything exciting to write home about. You'll be fine if you go here, but don't expect a memorable experience.

From throughout LA and beyond, people who enjoy truly authentic and delicious Mexican food drive the extra distance to Paco's Tacos. Oh yes, it was once the location for the filming of a Tom Cruise flick scene. But that's not why we, the faithful of Paco's for years, return time and again. Its because of the food, a blend of Tex-Mex and original Mexican recipes that have been developed and honed by the family since they founded the place. The food is all prepared fresh daily from the handmade tortillas being slapped together by two women who have been there for years steadily feeding buttery, real-deal flour tortillas to a usually busy house full of appetites. From the moment you're seated, a bucket of warm, lightly salted chips and salsa are delivered to your table and I've never seen anyone who can resist them. But pace yourself. The best part is yet to come. Of course I mean the meal but why not start with a blended Cadillac Margarita, which is your traditional Margarita with a side of top-shelf tequila. It costs a little more but the flavor is a world of difference. You can order a single or do as we do. Order a carafe and share the fun. Now, for the food, I enjoy the traditional Tex-Mex enchiladas with cheddar cheese, rice and refried beans. Make sure to ask for extra enchilada sauce and that they come hot so that you enjoy the full richness of the cheese flavor along with the other great stuff on your plate. My wife enjoys the "Tampiquena", another house speciality. It is a generous portion of medium sliced seared beef skirt covered with sauteed onions and slivers of bell peppers seasoned just right and accompanied with rice and beans. Tell them how cooked you want the steak. I recommend no more than medium so that the meat is fully cooked, yet tender. Also, try the flan, their traditional Mexican custard dessert. They're not shy about making it sharper in taste than other places but with a great cup of fresh coffee or just another Margarita, the combo will make Paco's a place you'll return to often. We have for more than fifteen years.

We live in Midwest, but have family in LA and have been coming here for years. My grown kids satisfy their urge for classic Mexican Food by coming here when we visit. Their burritos, which I get wet with red enchilada sauce is massive and priced very reasonable. The namesake tacos are always excellent, along with beans and rice. Can get black beans or refried beans. The dining decor is simple, with the fish tank as the center of attention. The main attraction is watching the ladies make by hand tortillas all thru the evening. One of my wife's favorites all time foods. The bring them in a basket right out of the fry pan. She loves them warm with some butter. You gotta try it. Enjoy!

After coming here for over 20yrs, I most sadly say that I will not return ever again. yesterday evening September 19, 2025 me and my party of 5 came here for dinner. The service was terrible, the food flavorless. On several occasions they asked to removed/clear the plates even though we had not finished eating. The removed my drink even though It still had about 1/2 left. It seemed that they wanted us out in under an hour, Several of the waiter and waitresses would come by and asked if we were done. This is ridiculous. I spent close to $200 and we were unable to enjoy the overpriced and flavorless food. NEVER AGAIN

Exactly what you'd expect. EXCELLENT chips - thin, served hot, and tasty salsa. Recommend the tamales.

Just the real deal here..... Having lived in the area most of my life, it was always great to be able to count on some places always being consistent. The homemade tortillas, margaritas and SuperMex Burritos are simply unbeatable here. If you've never been here before, you need to put this place on your "list" !!!!

This is one of our very favorite places to eat. We love the tortillas, but even more the family atmosphere! Yum!

I have been coming to LA since 1982, I have to come here on each visit. I have never been disappointed with the food. The margarita are served with by the glass or the pint. The tortillas are fresh. The service fast and attentive. Love this place! Just try it.

Paco's Tacos has a wonderful fiesta platter. It gets a bit crowded in the evening but that's only because it's a great place to go for happy hour. The margaritas are among the best I've ever had.

Best homemade tortillas in LA; mediocre northern Mexican fare otherwise; trippy decor

If you want a real LA experience with excellent food and drink--and superb service this is your place. The décor is totally entertaining and it is always lively here. There are women making the tortillas by hand and they are served warm--they melt in your mouth. The drinks are always generous and delicious. The food is typical of Mexican-LA restaurants, but it is well prepared and served very promptly--which is great if you have to wait for a table. We try to go a little before the crowd--or after, which can be late. The prices are extremely fair. We are never disappointed when dining here--and kids are very welcome.

The food is tasty, authentic, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice, and there's also a bar area. The homemade flour tortillas are the best and you can watch them being made.

Paco's Tacos is great Mexican food. The restaurant has been around a long time and is not updated, but it is clean and the seating is comfortable. You can also order food to go. The menu has enough offerings for anyone to find something they will love. Their flour and corn tortillas are made right there and arrive hot at your table and minutes fresh. Most nights there is a woman sitting in view of all making them--so good. The service is great. The servers are friendly and attentive. Paco's has a full bar and they are known for their great margaritas. There are 2 Paco's, one on Centinela and one on Lincoln, near Westchester. I prefer the Centinela location. Parking is not great but you will find a spot in their lot or on the street. You may need to walk a half block on weekend evenings. Paco's is great for families or small groups. Enjoy, all the food is great so order whatever you want.

Paco's has gone down hill so badly we have no intention of returning unless my little grandson insists for his Birthday. Now, their food was never great, but it was good, the prices fair and the service excellent. Such is no longer the case. I would give them 2 stars but they sang Happy Birthday to my grandson so I am being overly kind. There were 5 of us. They brought one basket of chips. You want another, again 5 of us, you will be paying for that. You walk in the place and it is now very warm. It is not as clean as it used to be, but it is fine. The service was so slow and it was not peak dinner time, not that such would be an excuse. They got our order wrong and the food was not good, some of it was not something you would eat. But, my dog liked 240$ worth of food. First, they came to get our drink order and that was fine. Then we waited and waited and someone came to take our order. We all had expensive dishes and when they came they all looked the same. They were not, they were just a mess of food on a plate. We ordered a shrimp cocktail that is supposed to have ceviche in it. Look at the photo, it is mostly water. There were 3 little shrimp and more watery ceviche. My grandson was the only one who would eat it. The balance just sat. Our food came at the same time instead of the starters and then the meal. I can live with that if it were any good. My grandson is a Special Needs child and can handle zero stress, so I could not return my dish and it went home to the dog, most everyone's did. I was so very clear that I was highly allegoric to sour cream and none was to be on my chimichanga or anything else. I clearly said this and added, no sauce of any kind at all. Just make it plain. The plate had been sitting in the heat and all the sour cream had melted into the entire plate. They must love sour cream. The plate was such a mess and the chimichanga so small that I could not find it. I took a bite of the beans and there was sour cream under it and I thought I would vomit. I looked at the rest of it and none of it could be eaten. I sat there with a smile on my face for my grandson and not one staff member even asked if our food was okay. Not even when I had the entire meal put in a box, all of them. My husband had a steak dish that he asked for rare to medium rare. It was burnt. The dog liked that as well. The rice on all dishes was dry. The beans, the dog would not even eat. The one thing they have that is still good are their tortillas, that are made there. But it took forever to get them. The flan was fine. It took a long time to get the bill. They have raised their prices. I have had better food at the worst taco truck in town. What a waste of money. Four plates barely touched. My grandson did love the beans.

What's not to like about Paco's? The tacos are great!

You'll love this local hole in the wall. Located in a busy street with limited parking but always packed. Good food, good service and something for nearly everyone. As a vegan I had to modify my tostada but the result was terrific. The addition of radish and jicama was unexpected and delightful and the guacamole was pure and authentic (no added tomato). The decor is as kitsch as it can be...a fun blend.

My parents came here when they first got married and they always went there on dates so they took me to reminisce about their old life. I can see now why they came here so often and raved about it so much. There is a lady in the middle of the restaurant who's job is to solely make fresh tortillas for the patrons. We put butter on the tortillas and had them as an appetizer. We had so many that we didn't even have room to eat our meal when it arrived. That changed as soon as I took my first bite. Delicious food! I ordered the Paco's combo plate since I couldn't decide what to eat. I can't say anything about its authenticity since I'm Indian, but I do know my way around spices and the food is very tasty. I now see why my parents told me so many stories about this place. I'll bring my kids here and tell them about their grandparents' stories while they devour their delicious tortillas.

You get all this at Paco's. The Carne Assada Plate with Rice and Beans, or Chicken (shredded and tender) Enchiladas, or Chicken Tacos, with freshly made tortillas being made in person are the best. Furthermore, the Cadillac Margaritas are very smooth. Their service treats their clientele like we are visiting their home. AND you will have money left over, great Mexican food doesn't have to be expensive. Try it you will like it!!

Killer rita's, killer foods. GO!

Local restaurant, great food. Huge portions. Have been here many times, walk in and wait for your table, usually under 20 minutes. Not fancy, but very tasty Mexican dishes, lots of variety. Tacos, burritos, salads, refried beans etc. Yummy!! Good service, family atmosphere.

Grew up in SoCal, been away for 15 years...this is exactly what I've been dreaming about! Got good vibes from the start - had to wait 20 minutes, we were led in past the old ladies making tortillas, the chips and salsa came immediately and we're very good. We ordered a pitcher of Margaritas and carne asada tacos. The carne asada was beautifully seasoned and came on a piping hot fresh corn tortilla. The beans were light and almost buttery with a cheesy mess on top. Wonderful. For the kids, we ordered the the quesadilla plate - to which my 7 y/o daughter said it was "fantastic", the highest compliment I think she's ever given a restaurant. Enjoy!

This place i believe is the oriignal Paco's there is another on Manchester in Los Angeles. I think i like the one on Manchester better. Its a bigger place more people more noise but i feel like the food is better and the service is better.

My sister said we had to try this restaurant so they treated us here. Paco's is really popular and crowded. Be prepared to wait awhile for a table. Also, parking can be a challenge. Wait time and parking situation are worth any trouble it may bring. Paco's Tacos makes the best homemade tortillas that I have ever eaten. Seriously, it is worth coming here just to eat them by themselves!! There is a spot where you can see the ladies making them by hand. Very cool! These fresh and warm homemade torillas are melt in your mouth goodness!! It could be quite easy to fill up on their tortillas alone. Make sure to save room for their entrees though. Everyone in our family enjoyed their meals. My Super Mex Burrito was delicious! Interesting Fact: Anyone remember the movie Jerry Maguire? This is the restaurant where they had their business meeting/first date, and the Mariachi singers were serenading Jerry (Tom Cruise). Definitely recommend coming to Paco's Tacos. It is one cool old school Mexican restaurant.

We stopped here after checking a few reviews online. We went to the one in Manchester, ca The food was great, very large portions. I got beef and bean burrito and was expecting ground beef, but it was filled with chuncks of roast beef. Also great chips and salsa. While we were there, ladies were hand making corn tortillas.

Definitely the best Mexican food in this area.

Started going here 30 years ago. It is exactly the same inside as it was 30 years ago- don't mess with a great thing. The food in my opinion is great and just what I want from a LA Mexican restaurant. The locals eat here and love it. Parking is quite rare- just look around the neighborhood for a spot. Prices are reasonable and they even have their own fresh tortilla maker - heavenly.

I've been to Paco's innumerable times - usually for take away, although I've eaten in with friends as well - and I will keep going back, even though it's now pretty far away from where I live. The food is excellent compared to your standard Tex-Mex places - well seasoned, and (depending on the dish you order) different from the normal kind of tex-mex food. My favorite is the De Tampico - the steak is always perfectly cooked, and tasty. I always ask for them to leave off the rice (since that seems to be their one weakness). Anyway, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants some good, solid tex-mex food here in LA!

Visited with family and friends of family: party of 9 whereof two were small kids. The staff was rather standoff-ish at first (it is obviously a family-restaurant, so several people were given tables before us, because they knew the owner) but once we were seated they were delightful. Atmosphere is great, a woman is making fresh tortillas as you eat. Food is good, but not the best you will find. Don’t get the chicken tacos, they are bland compared to the rest! Would recommend.

Average tacos but you should go at least once to see what you think. My family likes Paco's alot but the tacos are just average to me. They give tasty tortilla chips and salsa with your orders.

Paco's Tacos is our favorite of the combo-plate, gooey cheese old-school Mexican restaurants on the West Side. As all the reviews attest, the freshly made corn and flour tortillas are superb. But a great deal of care is taken with all the dishes. The combo plates (you can propose your own, or there are a dozen suggestions on the menu) are comprised of excellent chile rellenos, chimichangas, tacos (truly overstuffed), enchiladas and the like. The chips and salsa are great. Margaritas hit the spot. Very friendly service. Happy customers!

Used to go here all the time, and love to go back when visiting LA. Took some friends/family recently. Can you be impressed with a simple mexican food restaurant...you sure can! I've seen great reviews over the years, and they deserve it. Decore is a little 'cheezy', but barely worth noting.

Sorry not sure what the hype is about. Service was wonderful. Prices high for tasteless bland food. Salsa was bland. Really disappointed in the food. Definitely not worth the wait!

Loved this place, I don't know why it took me so long to make it here. The food was delicious, they do not skimp on the meat on the tacos. I was full with two! Yummy margaritas and freshly made tortillas. What more can you ask for?!

The title says it all. I'm a native of West Los Angeles and have been going to Pacos for over twenty years. Owned by the same family through its history, they have produced consistently great food. What I like best is that the quality of the basic ingredients shows through. Meat is tender and not full of fat or gristle. Tortillas are made on the spot and are worth a visit alone. And don't get me started on the margarita's. You can get any type of meat with any combo, so if you want Carnitas or Cochinita Pibil, its your call. A full range of calamari dinners is an option as are their unique wet burritos, my favorite being the Pacos, which features a chili relleno inside. Three presentations of Carne Asada, over a dozen well made combinations. Unique atmosphere. You got to try it.

Wow what a meal for an amazing price! The burritos were huge and in fact 2 ladies could share. The chips were fresh and the customer service was very nice!

My wife and I last dined at Paco's Tacos 30 years ago. We were in L.A. tonight and after 30 years had another incredible dinner at this very authentic neighborhood Mexican Restaurant. Home made tortillas made right in the restaurant. Incredible ambiance, so authentic. Food is wonderful as well as service. Definitely worth a visit.

We were in town visiting and Paco's was recommended. It was a Thursday night and the place was packed. The food was excellent. Some of us are gluten free and options were abundant. The fresh made corn tortillas served with chips while we waited for our entrée were fabulous. At the table we had enchiladas, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos and everything was excellent. The service was fabulous. Paco's was definitely worth our 45 minute wait.

Maybe I've sat at a booth in a different area of the restaurant before but the place we were seated recently was in one of the most noisy areas I've been in! I'll remember next time to ask. We had a very nice dinner - good margaritas, delicious and generous burritos, and enjoyed yet another Paco's dinner together. It's a favorite of our social circle - great for its hearty meals and relatively low prices. Many families and "happy birthday" wishes happening - a festive place with a wonderful staff and great service.

Anytime I stay at an LAX hotel for business, I make the 15 minute walk to Paco's. I have read the other good/excellent writeups on this restaurant and concur with them. I have traveled extensively in the Southwestern U.S., Mexico and eaten "Mexican" food all over the U.S. and in other countries. I lived 10 years in New Mexico. I would consider this food among the best Mexican food I have eaten. Guacamole is EXCELLENT! I have a gluten problem and have been able to have corn tortillas here. Tortillas are made in front of the dinners. The Machaca is excellent. I never wait to be seated and the taking of my order and the serving of the food is always the fastest I've seen at any restaurant. The price is quite resonable. The staff is always friendly. I practice my Spanish evertime and they indulge this "gringo." It is a great place to bring a crowd. If you don't like the food here and the service, hmmmm?

Small and cozy with friendly service. The food is fresh and prepared on site... you can watch the tortillas and tacos being made in the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food arrived quickly. Excellent food and good value.

We had a very enjoyable meal at Paco's Tacos. There were lots of local residents enjoying Paco's. Service was great. Don't go for the decor. A little old, but fun. Food was very good - basic Mexican fare done nicely. I had a combination plate with a Tamale - it was great! The prices were reasonable. All in all a nice experience! I will go back.

This has been our hang out for yummy mexican food and margaritas for years. Paco, Oscar and the entire staff are like family now. Superior service and food all the way around

Paco's is not the fanciest Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles, nor is it the cheapest or most expensive. If taste and value are your standards, though, it is certainly one of the best. Honestly, I have eaten here almost once a week for years, and I have no intention of cutting back now. The Supermex Burrito is the best food value in town, particularly when it is accompanied by a pitcher of margaritas. Other favorites include Steak Tampico, Fish Puerto Vallarta, and Concita Pibil. These are just a few of the great dishes. Portions are generous, and we usually split meals. They just added a $2 split charge, but it is well worth it. We also usually get the guacamole, which comes with puffy flour tortillas. Paco's tortillas are made by the tortilla ladies at the front of the restaurant. Don't forget to say hi to them and leave them a token of your appreciation.

There is nothing better than a night out with friends and family at this family run Mexican restaurant in LA. Pitchers of delicious margaritas. Crispy chips and spicy salsa to start. A menu of delicious entree favorites and THE BEST homemade flour tortillas in the US!!! This is a must visit for us (at least twice) on every trip to LA. Our family has been celebrating here for many many years. And we never tire of the quirky decor or amazing food. It's always the tradition to tip the tortilla ladies at the griddle before we leave for the night. Our kids still do it even though they're in their 20's now.

Excellent all around!! Chicken tacos are amazing! Sangria was a bit watery though and a bit too heavy on the alcohol...stick with the margaritas!

good cheap eats!

Loved the atmosphere and the food! Best flour tortillas I ever ate! Appetizers/guac/salsa/chips were exceptional. The huge burritos and the pork carnitas were "to die for"! Try it.....you won't be sorry!

Can't wait to go back to this place and say Hi to George again! Chips were great and service was quick.

Giant sized portions of real Mexican food. Plenty of variety to choose from, respectable prices, nice atmosphere, friendly and fast service. Chips and salsa while you wait. We'll go there again.

I have been going there for years. The service is great the food is always good. Super max burrito is the best deal on the menu. Only complaint it is often a long long wait to get in.

I am happy to have spent $30/person for a good, well served dinner. The food has nothing elaborated, the flavors are simple and enticing. The salsa was a bit of a disappointment since the layering of the flavors did not allow the basic ingredients of salsa to come through and refresh the palate. The server was fantastic!

Paco's has been around forever. My favorite thing is the freshly made tortillas...nothing can beat them! The first thing you see is the woman grinding the masa and the tortillas on the grill - so good! The menu is basic - and the have a bar. The downside is the parking- or the lack of. If you get lucky with parking it's worth the line to get in. Great salsa and chips and butter on the warm tortillas... yummy! The décor is always fun and colorful, changing with every occasion. Tip- they have a location in Westchester with tons of parking and a huge bar with TVs.

I don't understand the hype. The wait time is horrible. The food is soso and a bit pricey. I wouldn't go back.

It may not look like much from the outside, but the hour plus wait tells you how great the food will be. This place does not disappoint. Great Mexican!

best flower tortillas EVER!

I have been visiting LA for twenty years. Pacos is a must every single time I visit. Obviously, the tacos are delicious. This is my favorite restaurant I have ever found in LA!!!

Went here on a week night with friends. Friendly, good vibe and pretty good Mexican food. Service was good and margaritas tasty. Good local place and will return.

Best old school Mexican food in LA; especially, if you are tired of the Fresh Mex genre. Great chips and salsa, refried beans, flour tortillas and margaritas. This is not the place to go if you are on a diet.

I was in Los Angeles in June 2014. I eat at both Paco's Tacos restaurants. My favorite food there has to be the warm tortillas and salsa. I could not stop my self from eating the entire bowl. The hard shell beef and chicken tacos are great. They use real chicken and real shredded beef. Real authentic Mexican food.

this is a very good option for Mexican food in LA. they serve large portions and it tastes good. I had the chimichanga and taco meal and outside of missing a little spice/heat it was delicious. I would definitely go again. another plus is they have very quick service.

I local friend recommended Paco's as a fav spot of theirs and it delivered. Great real Mexican dishes and home made tortillas are a great little touch. The best Chile Rellanos I've had and good margaritas. service was quick and attentive. The atmosphere was rustic old scholl mexico that reminded me of a place I loved in San Jose Del Cabo. Prices were great and big portions. If you want real Mexican food and atmosphere then Paco's is the place to go.

The process starts when you try to park (no valet). The alley adjacent to the restaurant is for the restaurant next door and they watch their spots like a hawk and will tow you. I drove around the block a few times and found a spot on the street. Then you stand in line because they don’t take reservation. This is not a huge place so the crowds spill out into the street. They will be happy to serve you drinks while you wait, but the whole thing is a cluster (I’ll admit I’m not very patient). The décor is kitchy and otherwise average. The place is pretty thinly staffed. We got drinks but it took forever to get our order taken. The chips are OK. The salsa is chunkless and more akin to tomato soup, but I still ate a lot of it pending the arrival of our food. It took three hours to eat. You’d think they’d be more focused on turnover at a popular Mexican restaurant such as this. As for the food, portion were good, it was hot and the meats appears to be decent quality. The rice incorporated a medley of frozen peas, carrots and corn. The flour tortillas are excellent, but the food itself was kind of bland. This place has loyal fans and the food is good, but not good enough to make me face the process again.

Nothing too fancy but always good been coming here for many years. I always look forward to the fresh made tortillas.

Stayed in the Culver City area for a few days and stumbled across this place. Delicious Mexican food! They make their own Tortillas on site which are fantastic. Actually returned a second time for take out. Definitely recommend!

We Heart Pacos!

Good Mexican restaurant. It's a little small so expect a wait.

we were looking for something good to eat before going to the airport and being forced to eat airport food. We found Paco's Tacos and it will become our new on the way to the airport tradition. Really good California Mexican food. The kind you remember from growing up. And they make fresh tortillas to order. I wish I was there now. I had the 1 enchilada with rice and beans plate and it was plenty for lunch (maybe a little too much even) and they are generous with warm tortilla chips and salsa the entire meal. insider tip: parking and the main entrance are around back.

Always busy for a reason! The food is really tasty...the Margaritas delicious & not weak. The tortillas (burritos, tacos, enchiladas, etc.) are all made fresh daily! The Servers are prompt, courteous & fun! Never a bad meal or experience! But keep in mind...plan ahead so that you don't have to wait long.

I like the one on Sawtelle, but the one on Manchester is good too. I am tempted to go, and just get drinks and eat the tortillas and butter and call it a night.

This place is terrible.... don't listen to all those who don't really know about Mexican cuisine. This is NOT authentic, it is totally gross!

This smallish restaurant always has a line, but is well worth the wait. Their menu has many traditional dishes that are delicious. One of my favorite dishes is their squid filet lightly fried and covered in butter, garlic, and I think wine. Their homemade tortillas are available in both flour and corn. Women sit behind a stone table rolling them out and cooking them. The salsa is unique and one of the best I have ever tasted. you cannot go wrong at Pacos II.

Don't be fooled by the restaurant front. Go in and try their great food.

great food and not expensive

This location is smaller then the one on Manchester but the food is just as good and filling. Tighter space means cozier surroundings. We had a large group of 11 and they were able to accommodate all of our requests with ease. Nothing was forgotten and the food was delivered hot. Parking is at a premium but that doesn’t stop customer satisfaction.

I've been coming here for years. Love getting in one of the booths in the back. The tortillas are hand made and super fresh. The chips are soooooo good, we have to have the waiter take the basket away. The carne asada is to die for and the Tex Mex wet carne asada burrito is the bomb.....

The food is always fresh, and that includes the chips and salsa that they put on the table as soon as you're seated. The handmade tortillas are the best I've had, and the flour are my favorite. My family has been eating here once every few months or so for years, and you can count on them to be consistant with their food. Friendly waitstaff too.

Great atmosphere friendly service. Food is great but the hand rolled fresh tortillas are amazing. Carne asana taco is there best

This place is truly an original with delicious food! Portions are huge! The service is fast and they all work as a team. Love this place!

A tad overpriced (but that might just be my opinion since I was a midwesterner in LA), but delicious food. I would definitely go there again.

Good Mexican restaurant. Can be a little pricey for those of us with a tiny budget. Big portions, friendly service, nice decor.

We have been here a few times while on an LA stopover. Its so yummy and inviting and good for kiddos and exactly what you want. Margaritas are good and chips and salsa are exactly how you want them... constantly being refilled! Will go again next time I am in LA!

I am not sure why this place is always packed and people rave about it. The food is fine, but certainly not worth a special trip for. The food was greasy so it was not the healthiest. I would go there again if I was in the area but it is certainly not worth a special trip.

I wouldn’t call this a hole-in-the-wall because it is decent size inside, but it was packed when we went in for dinner. A table for two was a 45 minute wait minimum. You can feel the pride in the food and the fresh tortillas being made is a plus. We ordered two fresh tortillas with butter as a starter. So good. I had the chimichanga and carnitas taco. The chimichanga was perfect size and delicious. The taco was packed with carnitas... almost too much. Washed down with a beer and dinner was a hit. I recommend Pacos Tacos. (To Travel Is To Live)

Paco's is a great homestyle Mexican restaurant in Culver City. There is a small lot to park behind the place or you will be on the street, mind the signs. You will find parking. The place is super cute, with the servers and staff dressed in traditional Mexican clothing. The wall have some cute art and the place is just a happy place to me. They do have a lot of seating and many get it to go. It can get very crowded so try for off times. The service is wonderful. The staff is nice and speak English and Spanish and will help you with the menu. They are fast and they usually get your order correct the first time. They also have beer and wine. I do not know whether they have a full bar, I think they very well may. The food is excellent. We love their hard shell tacos and their beans and rice are always spot on. Their burritos are good as are their tamales. We have never had a bad meal there. Enjoy.

If you want authentic Mexican food cooked by authentic Mexicans - Paco's is probably your best bet. From Grandma Paco making enormous stacks of fresh tortilla - to Spanish versions of all your favourite songs blasting out of the sound system - nothing say Mexico more to me than "Para Todas Las Chicas Que He Amado Antes..." Food was well cooked and quickly served despite the Restaurant being very busy (It was Friday night) and we were really lucky to get a table - defo scores a 6/10 and a 9/10 for Atmosphere.

Best food, always delicious. They are so popular that they are anxiously trying to get you to leave. The only bummer about the place.

Full disclosure, we live in the neighborhood and come here regularly, have been for about 12 years. I use to kinda hate this place but at some point - out of desperation when we had our kid - we found this place to be high on the convenience factor. Now we love it enough to go once a week. I’ve tried lots of things on the menu but by far chicken enchilada with rice and beans is the best thing on the menu (which isn’t actually on the menu). The homemade flour tortillas are pretty outstanding too. Also, if you are feeling margarita thirsty this is your place, but not mixologist, hoity-toity margarita but good old classic margarita on the rocks. I’ve seen a few reviews saying the wait staff is stand offish, though this hasn’t been our experience. At dinner time they are super busy, so while everyone is warm and friendly, the service runs pretty efficient so that they can turn the tables over. Again, not saying I’ve ever felt rushed but the food comes out with exceptional efficiency and dishes are cleared with the same efficiency.

Paco's Tacos is amazing. Some of the best Mexican food in the city, great service, and festive atmosphere. Also, the price is very reasonable. I always take friends, family, and visitor to LA to this restaurant. Everything on the menu is great. Good entrees, rice, beans, homemade chips and salsa... Also get the ranch dressing--it's homemade and awesome. It does usually have a line to get in, but it's worth the wait. If you want to bypass the line, they have fast and cheap take-out.

I read most of the reviews about the restaurant. Paco has two locations, one on Manchester, near LAX and the other on Centinela, near Culver City. Both restaurants are owned by the same man, Paco. Usually, you will find Paco greeting you as you enter the Centinela location. The food is the best Mexican food I have ever tasted. The quality is superb and the service is wonderful. The prices are incredibly cheap for what you get and the portions are large and include either flour or corn tortillas. I have been to Paco's so many times with clients that I lost count. I never tire of the place. Try it, you will like it even if Mexican food is not your thing.

Took mu family to Paco's last night and when we got there we were told there was a 30 minute wait. We were all hungry, but heard this was the place to go for authentic Mexican food. We ended up being seated 15 minutes in and promptly served chips and salsa. Chips were warm and fresh, salsa was just OK. Our order was taken and food arrived way too quick. Made me think that everything was just kinda pre-made in the kitchen and thrown together. I got two chicken tacos and the plate was filled with shredded lettuce. My son got a tostada which was just "ok." The menu was in the $10 - $15 range for an entree and I expected more I suppose. The food was just OK really. Probably would go out of my way to go back. If I was in the neighborhood, maybe. I'd recommend giving this place a try, but don't have huge expectations.

I love love love Paco's Tacos on Centinela! Quick and courteous service, homemade tortillas that are outta this world, dynamite salsa, fantastic combination platters (the chicken tacos are amazing!) and the BIGGEST burrito I've ever seen in my life. Very fair prices in a lively, clean and inviting restaurant setting. Whether you dine in or carry out, Paco's Tacos ROCKS!

Nothing exceptional, but decent food. A little pricey for the food quality.

This is actually the third branch of the original shop on Centinela in West LA (the second, on Lincoln, closed after a fire years ago). Notable for its handmade tortillas, Paco's just serves up classic, good tasting, north-of-the-border Mexican food. It's staffed with friendly people and has a bright atmosphere (plenty of natural light; substantially remodeled from a former Red Onion restaurant years and years ago). The menu includes the typical tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tamales, chile rellenos, along with meat and seafood dishes. This place is popular. Despite having ample parking off of Truxton, finding an open parking space can be a challenge at times. This is another one of my regular spots.

Paco's Tacos on Centinela Ave always has a line out front and for good reason. Yesterday I was craving huevos rancheros for breakfast and found myself near Pacos. It can be difficult to park but worth going around the corner a few times. The food is great, there is a woman making homemade tortillas, fish tanks with tropical fish, crazy decorations, you feel like you are in a very authentic Mexican Restaurant. Waiters buzz around, service is great. I have also ordered their seafood tostada which is like a stew- also excellent.

Best tacos i have had in the US. The dishes, tortillas, atmosphere, seasoning, service, all made me feel back to my beloved Mexico! To my mexican friends, if you want hand made flour tortillas, those are GLORY!

Excellent hand-made tortillas in-house, huge portions and great service. An LA tradition and should be a stop on anyone's tour of LA. Highly recommend. Tough parking during lunch rush, so be prepared to search a bit for a place to park your car.

With the other options available in LA there is really no reason to frequent this place. The food is bland and does not have a fresh flavor. It is piles of pre-cooked slop being thrown together. The only thing that is good is the mamacita who is making the fresh tortillas...

Went to Paco's way back in the early 1990's. Many of the same staff are still there after all these years. The food is always great. We try to get next to the aquarium on the far side. You might wait for some time if you get there after 6:30pm but it is all worth it. If you do wait there is a bench area and they keep the chips and salsa flowing. Just go if you find yourself on the west side of LA.

I've been going to Paco's for years; 3-4 times a year and lately it just hasn't been the same. Food is on the "quiet" side. Usually we go with friends so the pitchers of margaritas and the never ending buckets of chips are always good - in fact the highlight of our visits. When it comes to the food (with the exception of the amazing handmade tortillas made on site) I find it mediocre. I know many are going to disagree because there can be a one hour wait for dinner so obviously I am in the minority. Aside from the food, the restaurant is great for families, large parties and has a fun, energetic atmosphere.

I always get the same order when we get take out from this place, so I can't speak for anything but their cheese and beef enchiladas, which are tasty! Not much else to say. Just good food. I like to get 1 beef and 1 cheese enchilada because their flavors meld really nicely together.

Ok, maybe Tex-Mex has ruined me but although this was a cute place, the food was bland and seemed over cooked. The waitress wasn't very personable; however, the fellow who bused the table was charming! Standouts were chips and the fresh flour tortillas. Everything else just blended in together-no real distinct tastes. If the salsa had been spicy, that would have helped! Parking is an issue as other reviewers have mentioned.

The best thing on their menu as far as I'm concerned is their carnitas. I love it! I also love that they still hand make their tortillas!! Margaritas all the way for drinks.

I've been going to Paco's for about twenty years, since I was in high school. The quality of the food has not changed, it's as good as it was the first time I went. Homemade, fresh tortillas made that melt in your mouth and great margaritas are bonuses. The place is quaint and decorated with odds and ends. But the two big fish tanks always kept my kids well behaved during dinner. They go all out and decorate the whole restaurant for whatever holiday is coming up and it's very cute. The service is nice, family run. It really is the best Mexican food I've had in L.A.

Went for dinner here, the food was ok but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone as being a cut above. We were expecting a better taste experience having read the reviews but this place just seems to pile on the portions rather than deliver taste. Also as others have mentioned it’s quite pricey too.

My westside friends and I have been going to Paco's for over 35 years and the food is always good. The seafood is especially good and the prices are very reasonable. Enjoy.

Stopped in for dinner while in town visiting friends. Real authentic ambiance. Food & margy's were excellent. Bit of a wait to get in so had to hang out on sidewalk out front. Would go again.

This is a very small venue with limited seating, but they food is great. Tacos are reasonably priced with traditional meat varieties you won't find at chain restaurants. If you don't like spicy foods, ask before ordering. The Camerones de Diablo (Devil Shrimp) were some of the spiciest we have ever had.

This is a no frills hole in the wall place. The food is authentic, tasty and very well priced. Be sure to go early to get a table as it is VERY popular on weekends. Go there and order the burrito, the portion size is generous to say the least!

A fun place to go with a group.

There are a few Paco's, but this one is the best. We have been so many times and every time it is great. It can get crowded, very crowded, and I don't know if they take reservations so call them or go during off hours. They are open for lunch and dinner. Parking is on the street or their small lot. Look for a place on the street, but mind the signs. It is cute outside, and inside is always decorated with something. It is not beautiful, it is adorable with comfortable booths and tables. They have a full bar and their tortillas are always hand made for you. They are the best. Get them. Put butter on them. Eat them. The service is great. They are fast and at the same time super friendly and kind. They speak both English and Spanish. It is the best way to celebrate something. We came for our grandson's Birthday and they gave him flan and the women sang Happy Birthday to him. He loved it. He picked out this place for his Birthday dinner. He was treated so great by everyone. But he always is. This is just a super nice place to go to and relax. They also have a TV, but I never watch it, I assume it is sports. The food is great, all of it. We had chips and guacamole which was so good. We then ordered a combination plate with rice and beans (YUM) and chicken and cheese enchiladas. We also had their great soft beef tacos and a salad and the best Tostada. It is a full meal, my daughter had to take some home. We had flan and great virgin drinks. You will love this place. It is a must stop in Los Angeles.

Rubbish food. The worst way of spending 30 bucks! They served us a kind of big dumpling covered with cheese and filled with pulp. Disgusting!!!

good margaritas

I have been eating at Paco's for over 30 years. Most recently, yesterday for lunch. It's the restaurant I use to judge other Mexican restaurants because I've never had a meal that was less than delicious, never had bad service. It is truly inexpensive - $12 for my big combination plate including a cheese enchilada, chile relleno, rice, beans, homemade tortilla. (You can substitute salad for either the rice or beans, and their Blue Cheese salad dressing is really good.) Chips and salsa are great. Guacamole is fresh and yummy. This place has a family feeling - I've watched the young employees grow up. It is homey and un-fussy. They decorate the restaurant for every holiday - it's currently preparing for 4th of July. They have two large tropical fish tanks which will entrance your kids. I used to take my baby niece, and watching those fish kept her quiet through an entire meal! I don't drink, but my friends tell me Paco's has the best Margaritas in town. Sometimes there's a wait - no reservations taken for dinner - but it's always worth waiting. Street parking, and after six p.m. you can park in the Bank of America lot across the street. I love this restaurant. It's the place I go when I really need a nourishing and delicious meal. Try it!

What a great restaurant. The food was delicious. The service was fast. Best margarita!!!!! The star was friendly and responsive as well.

I can't tell you how many times I have eaten here over the years. Every time I am in Los Angeles I make it a point to eat here at least once. Great food overall, but the fresh made tortillas are the star. Very good salsa and chips.

Go old school at Paco's and order off the menu. The photo shows the Steak De Tampico. Fresh tortillas are awesome, Chile Rellenos, Fish Tacos, enchiladas or tamales, you really can't go wrong. Then you add the tasty beverages and you have an afternoon. Enjoy. Note the parking sucks. You need to drive down the residential streets to get a spot sometimes. Don't let it discourage you....
An Old Favorite
I lived in Marina Del Rey about 15 minutes form Paco's in the 1990's and was a regular there for many years. Sadly its been 20 years since I lived in such close proximity to the restaurant but whenever I visit LA I always go at least once for dinner. During my 2 week stay in March 2018 I actually went twice. What I love about this place is that it never changes. In fact I was watching Jerry Macguire the other day and realized after all these years that the Mexican restaurant scene was in Paco's. The place is always packed as evidenced by our recent visit on a dreary Tuesday night where we still had to wait 15 minutes. Come ready to have a margarita in the cozy waiting area and you will be fine. When you are finally seated take notice of the lady making the tortillas fresh on the griddle. The menu is pretty no frills with many old school Mexican/American standards and makes no pretense at trying to create the cool millennial vibe so prevalent in the dining world today. They don't have to. The restaurant is fun to sit in, the service is excellent, the food solid, and the drinks great. I always have the Supermex which is a big burrito with chicken or beef, guacamole, refried beans, and various accents - no rice. This is covered in green sauce and cheese. So good. We used to joke if you can finish one they will give you another for free. I am still trying. So if you want an old school Mexican restaurant with a great old world atmosphere, good solid food, and lots of Margarita's go spend a fun evening at Paco's.
