Server ruined our experience

By AJ D |

Marcus was the worst server. He tried to scam us into buying a loyalty card. He took forever to get us refills, food and the check, which he refused to split, saying he was unable. We were not trying to be unreasonable, we had a party of 8 and wanted to split it by two parties of 4, he said he couldn’t do it, only split it right down the middle. He said the loyalty card was free and then we found it it was $25. We asked him to take it off the check and he argued with us. Food was good but because of the server trying to scam us, and waiting forever for him to check on us/refills. We will not be back. We are loyal to Landry but if their policy is to have servers try to scam customers and not be helpful at all with simply splitting a check into 2 for a party of 8- we will not be back.

The view is simply magnificent!

If you are looking for a nice seafood restaurant with a fantastic view of Seattle, come to Palisade. Simply the best out there. The entire dining area overlooks the marina and Seattle downtown with space needle being the center of that. The food was really good as well. We had crab cakes, cocktails and the seafood tower. The service can get a bit slow because the place gets crowded rather quickly.

Bungled birthday

By carol |

This was a celebration of my birthday. My husband had a special dinner planned with four other friends. He brought a special dessert for the occasion. The server was very friendly throughout, but obviously had too many tables. It started off well, but we waited excessive times between each of the courses. The appetizers were great as he recommended, when they finally arrived. It took him forever to come back to get our dinner orders. We ordered two bottles of their best. Oregon Pinot noir, which is a favorite of ours. By the time dinner finally arrived, which was quite late, the wine was not there. My my dinner had the sides all wrong. The salmon was good, but when I told him the sides were wrong, he took the whole plate away, so I had nothing to eat. He then told us that the wine we ordered was not available. About the time everybody else was finished eating and I was still waiting for my entrée, he came back with two bottles of the wrong wine, sparkling instead of the Oregon Pinot. At that point, we could only use one bottle of wine, so he then came back with the right type of wine, but not the substitute we had selected. We drank it anyway at that point, not knowing when we could get anything else. My entrée arrived but everybody else was done eating so I did not want it at that point. we asked for the dessert. Again, it must’ve taken 15 minutes for it to show up. We speculated during that time that they had lost it in the kitchen. Our special dessert finally showed up and he brought an extra crème brûlée for me. The food was good, but the kitchen must’ve been in chaos, and the waiter, as personable as he was, could not seem to remember what we ordered. I took my dinner home in a doggy bag. They did comp us my dinner and I think something else, but it was a disappointing birthday night. We have been here many times before and had good experiences. I think the management has changed in the interim.

Absolutely Exquisite

We had a large group of family gathered to celebrate my aunt's 90th birthday. The food and drinks were delicious. The service was exceptional. And, the sunset view was amazing! I had the $38 priz fixe 3 course dinner. The crab and lobster bisque to start was wonderful. My cousins enjoyed the prime rib. My aunt loved the Seafood Trio. The staff were very attentive and went out of their way to help my mother who has food allergies.

Extremely disappointing and not worth the steep prices

By joseph v |

Extremely disappointing went there for a special occasion most of the food was disappointing and portions very small. Cold crab cakes. Cold potatoes, shrimp with shells left in. $48 for a very small portion of salmon that was OK but nothing special. Service was poor, wait staff inattentive. The prices were very expensive. The only thing that made the restaurant special was the view but I would definitely not go back there

Sadly this place has slipped!

By PDRtravelbug |

Disappointing! We went there for Brunch and a special celebration and from the start it was a disappointing experience. The doors were locked, they opened late, the hostess did not greet us, everyone was just standing in the lobby. Finally, about 15 minutes after our reservation someone seated us. Sadly, the standard has slipped on this former excellent restaurant with an unbeatable view. The tablecloths were wrinkled, silverware spotted, glasses had lipstick on the rims, all in all Management seems to not care. The food was good and but is became evident that their popularity has slipped since the restaurant was mostly empty during a usually busy holiday season.

Great Location, Beautiful View

By MarkFullen |

We went there for dinner as couples with high expectations the service was average, the food was average, the views of Seattle beautiful, but everything was just average. We will cross this restaurant off our list of must do's. After researching this restaurant before and after our meal there it is apparent that things have gone downhill slightly from its Better Days.

Birthday Dinner in Seattle

By Alan W |

The owner of the B&B where we were staying recommended the Palisade as a perfect place to celebrate my wife's birthday. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was a perfect choice. The restaurant is beautiful and the view out of the floor to ceiling windows is spectacular. Our table was adorned with rose petals (as were some of the others - a nice touch for groups celebrating a special event) and by request, right next to the window. My wife and I each had a cocktail, appetizer, entree, glass of wine, dessert, and coffee and everything was attractively presented and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive and both our meal and the evening out will be remembered for a long time.

Amazing View!

By Aileen |

Went for my husband’s birthday. Ambiance is superb, food is good, service is lacking and price is expensive. I always get the signature Pupu tower (appetizer) which has something for everybody. Yes even for the picky eaters. I usually bring out of town guests here because of the ambiance. It is spacious, beautiful, amazing view, ample parking and the food is true to the Northwest. A hodgepodge of seafood Asian fusion.

Elegance on the Waterfront

By clp2csp |

Friday, Oct 27 we had dinner. We ordered oysters, seafood trio, ribeye and salmon. The view of the harbor and of the City is relaxing. There are indoor small ponds with fish, and a small foot bridge leading into dining area. Food was good. Server looked like Mark Ruffalo with a beard. Look for Todd C and see if you agree!

Seattle seafood tour

By David W |

This was our 1st stop on our 6 day seafood tour of Seattle. For starters we sampled all the appetizers and every one of them were extremely delicious. I highly recommend the warm crab and lobster dip it was absolutely amazing in, the Pacific moistures were my daughter in wife's favorites. For entrees we tried the Pan seared scallops and the Cedar plank crab stuffed king salmon again both were amazing. The restaurant itself was amazing with indoor ponds full of fish my daughter was allowed to feed.

Great for lunch, average for dinner

By gourmetwashington |

We have experienced several meals at Palisade. The location is beautiful - right on the water, overlooking the Seattle skyline and a marina. The restaurant has great light and is spacious. Yet, for dinner, the food disappoints. Reminds me of eating at the country club. Nice setting, bland ho hum food. However, lunch is another story. The food is fresh, hot and delicious. Love that it is a multi course lunch. It is a true spot for a ladies lunch or for that matter, a great business lunch. This is clearly the strength of this restaurant.

Happy 51st Wedding Anniversary

By Linda M |

This restaurant came highly recommended and it lived up to the recommendation. The dining room is designed so everyone has the best possible view. As we checked in for our reservation, we were asked if we were celebrating anything special. When we were seated there were rose petals on our table and a card wishing up happy anniversary. We sat on a banquette next to each other looking over a wonderful view of a marina. Quite enjoyable. The food was very good; the service was well paced; the atmosphere was terrific. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Great setting

By Carla H |

We made a reservation for Christmas Eve At the time we didn’t know that on that night they serve a buffet. They called us 2 Days Before to tell us that. Too late to get reservations anywhere else so we went It was $60 pp. The cheeses & salads were good. Shrimp didn’t have much flavor if you didn’t put cocktail sauce on them Oyster shooters were good Prime Rib was too salty. Green beans looked like they’d been cooked for way too long & were mush. Root vegetables were not cooked long enough Will go again for a regular dinner but not a buffet

wonderful food, top-notch service

By EmeraldCityGlobeTrtr |

We came here to celebrate my birthday and I couldn't have asked for anything better! Upon entering, we were greeted by very friendly staff who asked us if we were celebrating an occasion (we told them). After a fairly brief wait, we were seated at a table in full view of the window (it was a nice evening so the downtown buildings and Mt. Rainier were out). Our server was Todd and not only was he very friendly, he made sure everything was just right (it was). In addition to the leftover items we had boxed up, they also sent home a little cake too!! If you need a "go-to" for any special occasion, look no further than Palisade!

Scenic view and delicious food

By JustineXSemple |

My friends welcomed me to Seattle by taking me to THEIR favorite restaurant, Palisade. What a treat! From the fish swimming in a pond (and in tanks) near the entrance to the 180 degree curved windows that provide a view of Seattle, this restaurant was a visual delight. It is accessible for folks using wheelchairs. The menu had so many tempting dishes, that it was HARD to choose. However, the tower of appetizers and the cod proved to be great choices for me. My friends had soup, salad, steak, and other goodies. We all left VERY satisfied. What a wonderful first meal in Seattle!

Fantastic Steak....

By david n |

Palisade is great place to have a great meal with a really great, panoramic view of Seattle. The layout with the koi pond, and bridges makes for a cozy feel even though the place is huge. The wait staff are helpful and friendly even if they're not serving you. I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare. It came with asparagus and potatoes. While the sides were quite tasty, the filet was one of the tenderest and flavorful ones I've had in a long, long time. It was a great meal and experience.

We took a close friend of ours dinner for his birthday here. Great service and food! The Restuarant has a great atmosphere and the staff give great service.

Great Seattle Views and Seafood

By DivineFoodandWine |

This restaurant offers stunning views of Seattle bay and the marina. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful evening, with great food, drinks, service and views. We enjoyed champagne as we were celebrating our anniversary and the price was pretty reasonable. We both enjoyed a seafood meal, and the seafood was very fresh. Our server was attentive and did not rush us, as we were thoroughly enjoying the beautiful views, the libations and a most delicious meal. It was a wonderful and memorable anniversary celebration.

Very disappointed

By Tom A |

I've been coming to Palisade since it first opened. It has been a "go to" restaurant for special occasions. All of my previous visits have been excellent. I often recommended it to Seattle visitors but I can no longer do that after my dinner last night. First let me start by saying my issues are not with the service; it was excellent. When you have to ask the waiter if the coffee is going to be hot, you know you are not having a great dining experience. Given that our meal for 4 was over $400 without alcohol and given past experience we expected much more. Granted it was Christmas Eve and a prix fixe menu but all our dishes felt like they came off an assembly line. Ready on a plate and warmed when ordered. I've had better steak and salmon at Applebee's. Unfortunately it will be quite some time before we come back.

Beautiful setting for a special occasion

By DCProfessionals |

We held an early evening networking reception at Palisade in association with a national conference in Seattle. The reception was held in a separate building, and the setting near a marina in Elliott Bay definitely contributed to the success of the event along with very good food, fine wine, and excellent service. Highly recommend Palisade for a special event.

If you're not a tourist, don't bother

By theeyesoftheworld |

Really the view is the best part of this restaurant. They have not updated the restaurant in many years. We started with Aji tuna appetizer. The tuna had almost 0 flavor, and it came with wontons that were quite greasy, I asked for soy sauce, so that I can get some kind of flavor. We moved on to the Caesar salad with white anchovies. I've never had white anchovies, but they kind of taste more like sardines than anchovies. Had to ask for lemon and fresh ground pepper. Also had the pear and blue cheese salad very very little blue cheese, but both the salads had great flavor. Then we had a seafood salad. The salmon was a little fishy the shrimp we're good the lobster was good and the crab was just canned crab flakes no chunks. That was with a white balsamic salad dressing, which was very good. Then the other entrée was a mahi-mahi. That was also a little fishy, and it was served with mixed vegetables and couscous couscous was very good. We finish the dinner with crème brûlée, and that was more like a rice pudding, then a crème brûlée. Again, it's all about the view 😀

Don't miss this place. Great views, service and food options.

Incredible views, exceptional service by Todd, excellent menu options, great wine list, lots of fun, wonderful ambiance. Arrived early, had reservations and got a window view. Delicious, memorable and can't wait until our next visit!

The View, the Building, and the Food!

By BobbieMac421 |

I just spent a summer evening absorbing great ambiance, and great food at Palisade. Location, view, building, and food. Palisade has them all. Actually the location next to the Elliot Bay Marina adds to the view by putting some pretty fancy boats in the foreground with the Seattle skyline in the background. The beautiful shaped building is built of wood and superbly finished. It matches the view. And the food keeps up the great story. Oyster appetizer, steak or salmon, all are done perfectly. My salmon was done with a sweet and sour cherry sauce which got the sour first and just right. Some wonderful bacon and potato pancakes would be worthy of. a disc of their own. And the salmon was perfect too. My wife's Wagyu steak was beautiful. We shared a tasty peach cobbler with rich vanilla ice cream for desert. All sitting on the deck off the bar in the open air. An experience not to be missed.

Ahhhh-mazing!

Since this was my first trip to Seattle and I was only there for one night, I needed to make the most for it. Visiting Palisade Restaurant really allowed me to see more of the city than I thought I would and it was the highlight of my trip. First, since I really love a view, I will talk about the view here. My friend and I were seated at a table for two beside the window. If we had arrived a bit earlier, we would have seen more of the boats in the marina, but I made our reservation for 7 pm. From our table, we could see the entire Seattle skyline. It was beautiful! The other recommendation that we got prior to dinner is to order the halibut cheeks. I'm so glad we did! I had not tried or even heard of fish cheeks before, so I was skeptical. Holy cow! Amazing!! My friend and I ordered two meals to share, and our second entree was the king salmon. It was very good, but anything pales by comparison to the halibut cheeks. We shared a pumpkin mousse cake for dessert and were both amazed by all of the textures and flavors that were included. We each had a couple of glasses of wine. Everyone warned me what an expensive restaurant this is, but we each spent about $85 for dinner, which doesn't seem unreasonable to me. The other thing that was included was free limo service from our hotel. What a nice way to help out of town travelers enjoy a city. We never had to think about whether we should use Lyft or Uber. We had no planning to do at all. They called to let us know what time they would pick us up. After dinner, our waitress let us know that she would have our driver meet us at the front door. Still, he waited while we went to the waterfront to take some photos. This was a nice treat and a great way to really see and appreciate Seattle.

Disappointing visit to an old favorite

By jegWA |

We had a reservation for a lunch/reunion with two friends visiting from Japan. We hadn't been to Palisade in several years but it had been a previous favorite of ours for special occasions. We were so disappointed in the service and the food was so-so. The restaurant was not even halfway full but we did not see our waiter (Marcus) for at least 15 minutes after being seated. Then, it took an extremely long time to receive a drink and we waited at least 25 minutes for our food. The waiter was very unattentive and didn't even offer a water refill. The prices here are very steep for what we got. The fish and chips were pretty good, but couldn't they include a little coleslaw for the price? The lobster bisque was more like cream of tomato soup. There were no pieces of lobster and about one teaspoon of crabmeat on the top. No bread was offered, which would have been nice with a soup and salad lunch. The salad was fine, but small for the price. We are very sad to see that this place has lost its shine. The best thing going for it now is the view.

Expensive Brunch

By rerBellevue |

We spent about $280 for a Sunday brunch for four people, which included only two alcoholic drinks. Wow! Sure, it is very nice, but that is a lot for a buffet. Some of the food is very good, like unlimited crab legs, poke, ceviche, and sushi. But otherwise the brunch is omelets, pancakes, potatoes, bacon, etc., etc., which can be had elsewhere for a lower cost. I prefer ordering from a menu where you get what you want without the excess of a buffet. Nevertheless, the place was crowded, and everybody seemed to be having a great time.

Amazing seafood

By whiskeyadventure |

This dining experience was spot on! I wanted to make reservations for somewhere special to celebrate my husbands birthday on our recent visit to Seattle. Booking a reservation was made quite simple through “open table” including request notes that were honored for this special occasion. We arrived and were promptly seated at a window table donned in rose peddles. Our server was very personable and well informed guiding us through the menu and wine selections. We started with crab cake appetizer that was good then dined on halibut cheeks and black cod that were Amazing! Melt in your mouth seasoned and cooked to perfection!! Even for a busy Saturday night the environment was elegant, views spectacular, staff and service friendly and prompt. We won’t soon forget this place and hope to visit again!

Great!

By Randy K |

We have been to Palisade on numerous occasions. It is always very attractive and wonderful for kids (they love feeding the fish), The “Luau Brunch” was fabulous. There was an abundance of great food: hot and cold crab, large shrimp, 2 varieties of salmon, sushi, bprine rib, ham,reakfast items of all sorts, fruit, desserts, and a chocolate fountain with goodies. Much more. Expensive, but worth every penny. Soft drinks, juice and coffee included. Service from Mariah was wonderful — competent, friendly. She brought a complimentary piece of birthday cake for our 5 year-old celebrant, as well. Great restaurant!

Great evening!

By claudio18061965 |

We had a very nice dinner with a fantastic view over the marina and the Seattle sky line .. we had the restaurant week menu (33 USD, pay attention, a la carte is much more expensive!). Quality was very good!!! Thank you!!!!

Overpriced

By Rachel G |

I was there 1 week ago. The food was ridiculously overpriced. I had thr lobster crab bisque $12, it was watery, with no lobster or crab pieces in it. The organic chicken was good but ridiculous at $32, it should have priced at $18-20. Our waiter looked scruffy and he whisked away our bread while we were still eating it to serve our entree. I was ver disappointed. I love on the East coast in a coastal resort community and none of our upscale restaurants are this overpriced.

Great Evening! A Must Try

By David M |

Wow! Fantastic dinner. The wait hostess and waitress could not have been nicer. So friendly. Really made you feel like they were excited to serve you. The food was very good. The bisque and hot bread were perfect. The Halibut was prepared perfectly, with an incredible compliment of potatoes and beats. Really, you will love it! The wine list is impressive and very reasonable. Good job! And, the view. Beautiful. We will be back!

Mediocre Main Courses

By Rumples |

Throughout our years of visiting Seattle, we've always been able to rely on a spectacular setting and excellent food when dining at this restaurant. Well, the view of the marina, water and city skyline remains stunning, but our main selections at a recent lunch there proved to be abysmal. Three of us met at 1 p.m. and were surprised that only a few tables were occupied. During past visits, the restaurant has been jumping with activity at lunchtime. Palisade offers three fixed-price menus during that period, which I consider to be good value. We all chose the least-expensive menu, ($22), which gives several choices from starters, mains and desserts. The other menus offer the same starters and desserts but different mains. For a starter, I chose the avocado/crab roll, and five succulent pieces arrived filled with fresh crab. I had just returned from Japan and was hard pressed to recall eating sushi as good there. One dining companion had an excellent crab and lobster bisque and the other enjoyed his apple and blue cheese salad. We could hardly wait for our mains, but disappointment ensued. My roast chicken with mashed potatoes proved to be tough and tasteless. I could only manage a few bites. One dining companion had overly fried fish, encrusted in too much batter, and chips. Much remained on her plate. The other gave up on the tough asparagus that came with the bland risotto, which featured a congealed sauce. We all chose bread pudding for dessert and a ridiculously massive amount arrived on each plate with a scoop of ice cream. It was quite tasty, however, and though no one could finish a portion, because of the size, everyone opted to have the leftovers boxed to take home. Service, as always, excelled, from the greeter at the front entrance to those who attended to our table. Everyone (all extremely pleasant) ensured that we received menus, drinks and food promptly and kept watch, but not in an obvious manner, to anticipate our needs. With a little more attention in the kitchen, perhaps the mains would have resulted in meals memorable for the right reasons.

Questionable service due to race

By Racheal C |

I was so hyped to see this remarkable restaurant that I’d never had the pleasure of visiting. Having arrived with my family, (3 members) we were allocated a table to the far right without being escorted and were a little confused trying to locate our table. We had made prior reservations and 2 of us arrived 30 minutes late. However one member had arrived on time and was sitting waiting for us. Upon sitting down it became clear that our waitress was not keen on seeing people of color at this particular high end restaurant. As the evening progressed and we stumbled through the wine selections and menu, our white waitress came back several times with a smile that resembled a grimace ( Staff such as her should really be in the restocking section, basement or wear house areas, away from customers) to take our orders. She was unfriendly, off Standish and Only came to our table when she had to, however she did round on other tables close by with white customers and smiled genuinely, with them, engaged in conversation and seemed happy to be in the presence of her kind while inquiring how the food was. Sadly the remarkable view, classical music and ambience on the restaurant lost its appeal. It reminded me of the times we are in. For people of color reading this review, please avoid this place if you want to be treated like a first class citizen, who pays taxes and can afford excellent meals, and has a love of sea food, RAYS in Seattle will, and does bend over backwards to accommodate customers of all races. Excellent food, excellent service there. I give Palisade 1 star for the view and restaurant. Salty food and horrible white waitress. Not returning here.

Vegetarians/ vegans avoid at all cost

By Jeremy C |

Vegetarians avoid at all costs. I was informed they would be able to accomodate by making vegetarian version of items on the menu. The server, upon being asked, cut me off abruptly saying only one option was available for vegetarians, which was very popular and described a salad before rushing off. Those of us with dietary restrictions can understand how insulting this is: not taking the time to explain options and how our visit can be made comfortable. My family had to speak with the manager who offered half an apology and assured items could be made and that the server was not aware of this (train your servers properly on menu and etiquette). When I chose and ordered an item with tofu, it arrived mixed with meat. I then had to wait further for my food while my family ate. When food arrived, it was made hurriedly and was dry/ too sweet and not seasoned properly. There were barely 2-3 options I could pick from anyway on the menu. No vegetarian appetizers at all. No attempt was then made to apologize for anything or even compensate for my meagre meal. Will not be going here again, and recommend that unless you are a meat eater, you avoid as well.

Family birthday brunch

By ORbeachdawg |

visited with our family and friends. It is expensive and the service was certainly not the best we have ever had. The food was abundant and varied and it was all very good, especially the scalloped potatoes and the peanut butter dessert item. The view was pretty, the birthday dessert was a nice touch, the drinks were expensive except for the bottomless mimosas which there were 3 types that day. The fish pond inside is pretty, bathrooms pretty and clean. We have been here before and we remember feeling pampered and special at this restaurant, that atmosphere and feelings were not there this time.

Wonderful special occasion location with spectacular food and service

By Laurie M |

This beautiful institution in Seattle culinary history is still gorgeous with a spectacular view (better without cruise ships blocking the view). Marcus was entertaining and took care of our every need. He made our double birthday experience special. The food was superb - spicy chicken with andouille linguine was delicious. Marcus recommended king salmon on my shrimp salad was spot on! Complimentary dessert was red velvet cake with drizzle of chocolate which Marcus said we should save room for - boy was he right! Oh appetizers were ridiculously good - pork belly with a great sauce plus grilled octopus with chimichurri. Crab dip yum! We will be back❤️💕

Fabulous Brunch!!

By allardc85 |

Happy Birthday Ampa! Brunch was delicious and bottomless mimosa's for $10 is an amazing deal. Hoang B. Was FABULOUS!!!! The view of the marina is wonderful, and it was an added bonus walking around after we ate. I would highly recommend. Their brunch. Cheers!!

Seattle’s Palisade is dead! Bring on another concept.

By International food guy |

If you look at the other reviews of what has happened to one of the best Seattle view dining establishments you will get the jist of my rant! At least the 3 star and under reviews. Some visitors and new citizens in our growing city are over the moon about it because it is a fantastic venue that can’t be beat by many restaurants. But this joint is a shell if it’s former self and covid has little to do with it. I will be brief but my long rant with particulars will be on Yelp. Restaurants Unlimited was a great local group that did well in the 80s 90s and beyond but I suspect that their founder Rich Komen probably aged out and his kids were turds. I grew up with them and one screwed me out of money at the school bus stop. Still live here. They went into bankruptcy and Landry’s from Texas bought them out. What a S show! Their current manager at Palisade is Patrick and he’s clueless, stressed out in front of guests and nothing is working well there from reservation reliability, servers, usual experience and amenities starting at the front door/valet to serving and bar/food menu and general quality. We just moved our boat to this marina and celebrated with a brunch that we couldn’t finish. I ordered a leftover steak hash made of mushy day old meat mixed with runny country gravy mixed with home fries and two raw eggs over the top. Yuck! Felt weird all afternoon. My wife is a seafood nut and ate half her crab cakes. Patrick micro managed to poor hostesses over the desk In an empty lobby and ignored us entirely when we left but begged us to stay when our reservation was 20 minutes behind schedule and we were sitting there watching a large family and kids looking for pond fish that weren’t there. SAD When I spoke to the Landry’s corporate rep there about this she was all excuses with no solution and defensive when I told her that the management and such choices need to be changed and soon. We’ve cancelled our plans for a family boat party with catering here and probably won’t keep our boat here for long. Landry’s has its head up its orifice here! They are overextended and don’t care.

SERVER: Brian receives A++ /COOKS receive F- -

By Cathy O |

Our server, Brian, was great - the food was not up to par - The Crab Dip was great, but when it came to dinner, that is another story - I ordered the Jumbo Australian Lobster Tail w/vegetables ($115.50) - when it was served it looked cold - and when I started to eat the lobster, is was cold and over cooked - my vegetables were cold, I tried to put butter on them and it didn't even melt. My husband ordered a medium rare Herb Crusted Rib eye ($47.50) - when it came out, it was cold and not medium rare - (No moisture at all). The mashed potatoes were cold also. I felt like we got all of the leftovers since we were there a bit late - So very disappointing to a beautiful day.

Great Experience!

By Emily W |

As tourists to the area, we loved our dining experience here. The food was outstanding, the view was unbeatable, and the service was friendly and knowledgeable.

Great brunch!

By KLK264 |

The Sunday brunch has so many food choices - freshly made omelets and eggs benedict, a seafood table, breakfast table, salad table, and dessert table. More food than you can imagine. Service was outstanding - the waitress was one of the best I've ever experienced. For birthdays, there are rose petals and a birthday card on the table as well as a free dessert. Great view of Puget Sound and downtown.

Best Dining Experience Ever

By djamundsen |

Palisade is our automatic first choice for special occasions. We went to Palisade for our 18th anniversary on Valentine's Day and were treated like royalty. Our lead server was JP (he's been there since they opened in 1992). Attentive, friendly, positive and helpful. Great attitude and he set the tone for a great experience. We were visited by managers who let us know how much they appreciated our celebrating our special day with them. Lobster, steak, grilled prawns and the biggest crab leg we'd ever seen. Everything was perfect. Loved the food, the view, the architecture and the service. Thank you, Palisade, for making our anniversary a treasured experience!

Ask for Justin!

By Andrea V |

Justin was such a great server! He made my friend's birthday so memorable! So attentative! I hope next time when we visit, we have him as our server. We will visit again, specifically because of Justin!

Average Brunch

By Sarah |

My family and I went to the Saturday brunch for Mother’s Day. We had very high expectations, unfortunately we were let down. The food was mediocre and cold. I ordered something that came from the kitchen and never received it and It felt like we had to fight the line for food. For the price we paid, I expected something much nicer. We were really let down by our experience.

Quality seafood with spectacular view

By Jan B |

Seabass was first class and the view can't be beat! Service was wonderful too. One of our Seattle favorites.

Birthday celebration

By Ronald S |

My son and I went out to enjoy a birthday dinner. Had the seafood platter with crab on the side. They called it a platter. I remember having one in NY where it was 4 tiers but it was more expensive. Wish there was more seafood and we added crab legs. It was only two so not value there. 3 sauces with crackers. We thought it would be more so we ordered lobster bisque-which was excellent and the scallop dish that very good with lots of good vegetables. They brought us a complimentary crème Brule for desert-good too.

Our favorite for major celebrations

By David J |

We have celebrated our anniversaries here with excellent service, food and views. The seafood is very fresh, the prime rib is fantastic and the presentation is wonderful. We are planning on returning soon for the Sunday brunch.

Lovely Breakfast Buffet

By Brenda and Chuc... T |

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The variety of foods was excellent as was the quality of the food. The views from the dining room are spectacular. Can’t beat looking at Elliott Bay.

Our 3 wedding anniversary

By Paul and Suzanne |

We called around Seattle to see who was going to have prime rib for dinner. Palisade was the ONLY ONE serving prime rib that weekend. We both had a wonderful dinner. We asked for the larger cut. It was all we could expect. Plus the cream brulee was awesome 👌. Large portions and very creamy. All in all we have a wonderful experience at Palisade by the water in Seattle. Thank you everyone who works there for a wonderful dining experience. Paul and Suzanne

We ate at the Palisade on a Saturday night. Getting a reservation was accomplished by phone, which was easy. They seemed pretty limited in times, but got us in. The location is at a marina, which was a nice backdrop. It was a packed house, which is a good sign. The service was excellent from our waiter. He recommended a pomegranate mojito for my girlfriend and it was outstanding. The food was also very good and we both enjoyed our meals.

Sunday night

By Imhotep2 |

Had not been here for over 20 years... The menu offered a good range of seafood to beef to satisfy most tastes. Had Lionetti and Betz wines on the wine list The scallops, NY cut ... well prepared. Good special location or out of town guest restaurant due to the view.

Great Place for a Celebratory Meal

By Wendy K |

Ate dinner here for our 40th wedding anniversary, which I mentioned when I made our reservation. The restaurant treated us very well. A window table overlooking the marina,and with views to West Seattle, downtown, Mt. Rainer and the Olympics. Rose petals and a nice card were at our table. Food was delicious (California Roll, Pear Blue Cheese Salad, Halibut and Roast Duck). Good quality but definitely special occasion prices. Good beer and wine by the glass selection. We were too full to order dessert but they brought us an Anniversary chocolate brownie with candles, whipped cream and the name of the restaurant in raspberry coulis . A sweet touch!

Excellent atmosphere, service & food

By JTA |

This restaurant is amazing. Great atmosphere and terrific service. The cuisine is truly fantastic. It is very expensive but the quality is worth every dollar. I highly recommend this restaurant especially for special occasions.

Great food, crappy service

By Helmut |

We ate at Palisade exclusively to have Copper River salmon. It did not disappoint. The fish was excellent. So was the cheesecake, which, I believe is one of the best I have had in a long time. Unfortunately, service was mixed. One dish was overcooked and the replacement came when everyone was done. Some ordered items were incorrect and the meal was severely rushed. Someone's plate was taken while she was still eating! For a place that strives of this caliber, better service is to be expected...

Skip Lunch

By DM |

We debated giving the restaurant a 2 star but because of location we gave it 3 stars. We would not go back , though under prior ownership we ate there many times. The food is mediocre, overpriced and would have been disappointing at 1/2 the price. The views from this restaurant are spectacular and it is a great restaurant if you actually want to be able to visit. That is not enough for us to give it a second chance.

Never a Disappointment

By DavidB371 |

Whenever we want to treat guests, or ourselves, to a special meal we head to Palisade. In numerous visits over several years, we have never been disappointed. The employees are professional and courteous: from the speedy valet parking, to the ever prepared hostess, and professional wait staff. The menu is classic Pacific Northwest with a nice selection of seafood and steak.Even if you don't get a table right at the window, the view of Elliott Bay is sublime, especially at sunset. If you're not familiar with Seattle, it's not an easy place to find and the tab will make a dent in your wallet... but it will be so worth it.

C- Food, B- Service, A View...

By DaveD |

If you want an ok cocktail with a nice view, this *might* be your place. If you are looking for a nice dinner, maybe fine dining, try someplace else. This place capitalizes on a great location with a very weak experience. I'm sure it makes money for them, but what a disappointment. Manager walking around dining room wearing a dirty shirt and a baseball hat on backwards. 45 minutes to get an appetizer. Managed as effectively as a pile of puppies. Never again.

Unreliable

By Alex P |

You cannot trust Palisade to give you a table you when you make a reservation there. I had made a reservation for 1pm for two, and they called me 10 minutes before 1pm to tell me they could not honor the reservation, after I had already driven 30 minutes to get there. Highly unprofessional.

Really nice high end food

By Antoinette H |

They know how to cook seafood! The dining experience is very posh, with a gorgeous view of the city. My husband and I go here for anniversary and birthday dinners. It's a big treat!

Great View

By Sam J |

This was our first trip to Seattle WA and this restaurant was on our list of places to visit. One of the high point was not having to park your and walk to the restaurant. They offer free valet parking. This is a great place to bring a date or attend a social gathering. The prices are a little high but the menu is extensive and has something for everyone.

Great Brunch

By Carla H |

We went here for my Birthday We had a lovely table right next to the window overlooking the marina They had a Card for me & rose petals on the table Our waitress, Stacey was very friendly & efficient There’s a huge variety of food I couldn’t try everything as I was full But, everything I did have was delicious If you like Brunch this is a great one to go to. Especially for a celebration

Boring and Overrated

By Nico20167 |

Heard about this place for years. Went for business. Nice ambience but 4 of us had an average meal of fish and steak which ran us 350 dollars. 3 beers, 4 entrees and 1 appetizer. No dessert. Everyone raves about it but hard to see why. Very underwhelming!!

Things Changed

By JMM |

We were back visiting Seattle and had Pallisades on our list - we use to go often and really enjoyed it. We love the location and the restaurant and food were always amazing. Not so much anymore. Not sure if the Landry Group ownership change was the cause but the inside of the restaurant was a little worn down, no fish in the water features anymore and not the shiny up to date place we remember. The service was fair, the food wasn’t very good. We had some raw bar fare, and some seafood. Most was just okay, some of it wasn’t very good at all. It was nice to see the views, but the restaurant disappointed.

Beautiful view - food quite expensive for value

By seattlefoodlover2016 |

In this beautiful setting overlooking downtown Seattle and the sailboat harbor, Palisade restaurant offered a very nice but expensive buffet of practically every food known to restaurants for New Year's Day brunch. They did not offer any information about the price and we made the incorrect assumption that it was like their standard offerings. The food was good, but expensive for what we received. However, they did have a good bar offering of unlimited prosecco drinks for $10.00 which was a bargain.

Nice Place, Nice Food

By Eliana Maria |

This place is located at a marina where there are many boats parking. From window seats you can also see Seattle downtown across the water. Service is good, food and wine are also good. It's a nice place for special occasions or a romantic dinner.

BEST of EVERYTHING!

By lchelsea |

BEST service, food, brunch is out of this world! There is no Sunday morning brunch like Palisades. I've been going here for years and it only gets better. You have to try the TriMelon Mimosa! Delish!

Very good service, but watch out for oysters!

By boulderskibum |

Very disappointed in this restaurant. My wife and I biked out from downtown in late July for some seafood. We had the happy hour oysters, along with other seafood. I was quickly eating the oysters and the last one seemed very off, deflated and dark in color. It did not smell right. Unfortunately, I noticed all this as I put it in my mouth. Later that night, after eating nothing else, I developed severe stomach cramps, dirrahea and vomiting. This was continuous and lasted over 24 hours, including during our last day of the visit to Seattle and on the plane back home. A horrible ending to a wonderful vacation. We called and spoke with the manager who wrote down the details. She told my wife that their insurance company would be contacting us. We never heard from them! Obviously they were blowing us off and hoping we would not contact them again or leave a review. That was mistaken! We had a wonderful server, but I can't believe a very expensive seafood restaurant would serve bad oysters and then not stand behind their food. We were hoping for them to check their product and at least offer us a refund on the meal. It was the least we could do since I had to suffer the following day and not enjoy downtown Seattle. I would not recommend this restaurant soley for their lack of customer service and follow up. For the prices they charge, I would imagine the insurane bill is easily covered.

Amazing view and service!

By Sher S |

This is a must-visit for any traveller to Seattle. The views are gorgeous but the restaurant interior is just as stunning! Our dishes were all fantastic and the waiters were very attentive and friendly

Great night at Palisades

By Heath S |

Exellent food, superb service, great view.

Gluten Free????

By Anne |

I was invited to an event and asked to choose my entree. The Crab cake was described as Gluten free. However, when it was served AND I had taken several bites I realized the "cake" was sitting on top of round PASTA. When asked the wait staff said it was pasta and changed it out for rice. If I had been celiac If would have been a HUGE problem. As it is, gluten takes 9 months to work it's way out of your system. Beware!!

Food Poisoning

By Lisa B |

We visited Palisade with friends and will never go there again. In fact, I would give a rating of -0- if I could. My husband and I both had dishes with crab in them, and neither of our friends did. Driving home from dinner we started to feel an upset stomach and three hours later both of us were hit with the worst stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting we have ever had. We called the restaurant the next day, and the day after that, and two more times before the manager answered and I was actually able to speak with him. He argued with me, saying that their food is kept at a perfect temperature and no way we got sick because of them. I told him that every other meal we had for the last two days, we had shared with our friends, and they did not get sick. He told me NOT to call the health department and that he would see if corporate would refund us, if I would email him the receipt. I did immediately and never heard back from him. After two weeks, I decided I should call the King County Health Dept. regardless, knowing I would probably never see a refund if I did. I was called back by an investigator and spent an hour on the phone answering all of her questions. She said our symptoms (down to how long it took to happen, the severity, and how long it lasted - all in gory detail) were exactly a type of bacterial food poisoning, and based on when we had other food, etc. it had to have come from Palisade. She stated that Palisade is legally bound to call the health dept. when they receive a complaint like mine, yet they had never called. Two months later and I was never contacted again by Palisade, nor have I received a refund. The worst money we've ever spent on food. Please keep in mind this is how they treat customers, if you should choose to go. I have a very detailed record of every single call I made and email I sent. The manager only called me back once, every other time I had to make repeat calls until he actually picked up the phone. Their lack of compassion, empathy, and caring towards their customers is appalling, and I felt compelled to let Tripadvisor readers know.

Great overall dining experience for the whole family. Beautiful view.

By Alex N |

This restaurant has a sweeping view of the marina and downtown Seattle. The food is good and there is something for everyone in the family. Great service and a fantastic place to enjoy a meal in Seattle.

Views with fine, serious dining - a destination place

By marcopolopaloalto |

Palisades A little off the beaten track in Magnolia neighborhood, in a marina. I like it because there is parking and the views are good . The restaurant is huge and one passes over a bridge and koi pond when entering restaurant as if to journey thru to a relaxed atmosphere of fine dining and enjoyment. We both had the prix fix menu which had choices for appetizers/ entree / dessert for about $38.00. We had the Cesear Salad, The restaurant is pricey so this a recommended way to dine and have the sea view and fine dining experience. The wines with the prix fix were about $8 a glass The good is presented elegantly and in high style.

Great Christmas Day Dinner Buffet

By Lee F |

We have usually had Christmas day dinner at home, but due to split schedules my wife, daughter & I decided to try this approach. My wife and daughter are less seafood centric than I am, so they went for the more traditional holiday choices and loved all of them (ham, turkey, dressing, etc.). I headed for the crab, mussels smoked salmon and sushi. We enjoyed a bottle of rose and I had a glass of chardonnay (or two). This was a Christmas special and it was special. Our server was very attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

Halibut in view

By LizzWie |

Dining experience was relaxed, delicious. Walkway surrounded is a lovely pond filled with fish-overlooking a busy marina. Every table had a view Lobster dip was marvelous, as was the lobster bisque. Dinner was perfectly timed and service was right on. We had a most delightful evening.

Great places

By Shaun K |

My wife has been wanting to come here for a while so we finally made the hour long trip. We were not disappointed. You must get the crab and lobster dip appetizer. We joked that next time we come we’re just getting two orders of that! Now our meals were great also. We had the tuna special of the day and the surf and turf. Both were large portions and delicious. Finished off with the always delicious creme brûlée. Great place worth the large bill! Haha

Romantic Dinner

By Kayak1me |

I love Palisades! The atmosphere is wonderful, the view spectacular, service attentive, and the food delicious. For special occasions they put rose peddles on the table. I go as often as I can.

Wow....a must in Seattle.

By Francois B |

Truly outstanding experience. Great meals, outstanding service. Would recommend any "fish" dish. We had oysters to start, sole, salmon..mixed plate...all excellent. The view is great.. great atmosphere.

Great view with mediocre food.

By FH011 |

Don't go to Palisades for the dining. When it was first open, it was an excellent choice for both dining and the view. Over the last few years, since the RUI corporation took over, the food quality has gone way down hill. Fewer choices and quality is more like a fast food restaurant. BUT, the view is great. I suggest eating in the bar at happy hour and skip the full dinner options in the main dining room.

Excellent!

By Bonnie V |

Went last night for our Anniversary dinner. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent view. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Great views and beautiful restaurant.

By DanM |

Our server David was excellent. Great recommendations and engaging. Nice views and ambience. The food was good, but not what I expected for the price.

Palisade- Early Bird Experience

By PHSexpress |

The three course Early Bird Special is the best value. Main courses could be as expensive as the entire EBS. The views are spectacular. The space is expansive. The food is good...be careful of the descriptions. The word "Traditional" can be interpreted in many ways. Desserts were wonderful... I recommend the Bread Pudding! Rose petals on the table for Special Occasions...a nice touch.

Gorgeous food, amazing wines

By aok47 |

Alot on the menu to choose from which means I'll have to go back! I ordered the FISHERMAN’S SEAFOOD FETTUCCINE. Very nice dish. Halibut cheeks were equally nice. Mai tai cocktail is generous and very refreshing.

Disappointing Lunch in Amazing Spot

By 100QA |

The setting is as good as it gets if you want a view of Seattle and the marina. The staff is very nice. Lunch is expensive so you expect quality. The crab cakes with coos coos was the worst dish in our collective opinion. Salads were quite good.

`````` One of the Top Brunch Restaurant in Seattle ~~````
By toto l |
Before Mother leave back to U.K ,whole family was in Seattle for our family reunion ,one of our sister who live in Seattle and chose the Palisade restaurant , the restaurant is located is in the Elliot Bay Marina , ,the place is very upscale and it is a big restaurant , the ambiance is very relax , the Food stations set up need more creative , it is okay ,but the place is so big ,so much food ,lust like a jungle , but over all , very impressed , special the Salad section one of the best I seen in any Brunch restaurants ,very fresh ,clean , lot to chose from ,,the seafood stations not much variety ,but the dungeness crab is truly amazing fresh ,full of flavor , the roast lamb and the Prime Rib well seasoning , ,also the chocolate and Caramel fountains must try ,,friendly staff , ,price is very reasonable , Mum love it ,she want to come back for dinner on Sunday night ! so if you are in Seattle , try the Palisade for brunch ! you will thank me for it .
If You Miss Trader Vic's As Much As I Do ~~ ??
By ch00seyon3 |
Long ago and far away, in the land of old Seattle, there was a destination with luscious cocktails, elaborate surroundings, amusing wait staff and unforgettable food. Of paramount memory therefrom, is the large sculpted glass mug containing the most heavenly Mai Tai experienced anywhere in my travels . . . the food was good, also. For a friend's birthday in February, we popped in to Palisade mid-afternoon (happy hour) to fill some time before another function. Oh mmmyyyyyyy . . . oh joy, oh rapture, oh heavenly BLISS . . . behold the Trader Vic's style mugs, AND CONTENT . . . yes, the real deal. Mai Tai heaven~~!! Perfection. Over Easter, we deliberately returned for another, only to find ourselves arriving at the end of the infamous Palisade Brunch. Despair . . . HOWEVER, these accommodatingly charming folks not only fetched the magic bartender from his duties in their downstairs venue to create our dearly anticipated Mai Tais, they also seated us and allowed ordering food, between official hours. How often is ANY business that wonderfully kind? We found the seafood Tower . . . to share and keep things easy for them, also. What a treat . .. it's huge, has lobster, large shrimp, oysters, raw tuna and . .. and . . .and!! Over the decades, we have dined at Palisade, and lunched, without running into the holiday brunch scene. Though unexpected, this fine establishment rallied handsomely with ample courtesy, great food, and yes . . . those superb Trader Vic Mai Tais ~~!! Don't miss it !
Outstanding evening overlooking the bay
By TxBamaEx |
Excellent fresh seafood, immaculate service in an inviting atmosphere with wonderful scenery. Our family of six all enjoyed the evening dinner.
Graduation Dinner
By Armin V |
Had a great evening at Palisades. Took our college graduates to dinner, excellent service, great view of downtown Seattle and the Scallops were perfect.
Great lunch
By David J |
We were at Palisade for a recent lunch with an out of town family member. The service and attention were excellent and the food was very good. It is a favorite place for us.
Easter brunch
By stitcher1951 |
Nine of our family members went to Palisades for the Easter brunch. We were seated at our exact reservation time which was surprising since it was so busy Our server was Mark and he was friendly and efficient. He handled nine people with ease and checked on us often. You cant beat the view of Palisades. It is a lovely restaurant with gorgeous water views Most of the food at the buffet was very good. I loved the ravioli! The breakfast potatoes were outstanding. There were a lot of salads but only a couple were to my liking I had a small piece of ham, and some prime rib and both were pretty dry. the pulled pork was really good. My granddaughter had chicken and it was dry This buffet had lots of food choices. If the meat had been better i would have given it five stars.
Santa Brunch!
By FeChefSeattle |
The food was 5+ stars! The cheesy potatoes and the bacon scones were the clear winners at our table, but everything was just spectacular. Our waiter was a little difficult to track down to get our drinks filled/re-filled---but Santa was there, so maybe he was distracted by that. :)
New Year’s Eve dinner
By T4977DLstevea |
Went with a groups of 14 friends on New Year’s Eve. While the venue view was very good, the food was very mediocre. This was a fixed menu. A couple of the courses were pretty good, but the main course, beef tenderloin was very tough and not warm. Disappointed given the fairly high price point. Palisade has been my favorite restaurant in Seattle for many years.....now I’m not so sure.
Love this place...
By P S |
I highly recommend Palisades. Great view, drinks and food. Sunday brunch buffet is amazing. Dinner reservations just before sunset is spectacular too. Cooking classes are best ever.
Great For and Great Views!
By Butch E |
This is a top notch restaurant with great food. If you are lucky enough to get there for sunset it is quite a beautiful sight. The food and service were both top notch. I had the Shrimp Louis which was excellent.
Gorgeous restaurant
By Lori F |
A beautiful restaurant overlooking the marina with a view of Mt. Rainier. Terrific food, atmosphere and service. I had the 12oz. prime rib perfectly cooked. Just melted in my mouth.
Most creative setting plus a good meal
By Treesmiths3 |
We have been here for the Sunday brunch, as well as dinner. But what other restarant actually has a salmon stream in it, with glass art and a grand piano playing? And, it is on the water's edge of a large marina, with plenty of parking and an attentive staff. The wine list is not extensive (maybe 20 pages), but has choices from $40 - $200 and will satisfy a discriminating palate. The food is both sea and land based with creative touches that keep things interesting. With a bottle of wine, the four of us spent about $500. including the tip for a weekend dinner. It is a special place and not the weekly go to. The dress code is casual and we came up from the docks in our boat shoes and fit right in.
First Class in every way!
By Jean H |
Oh my! Where to begin. Firstly great service, great location, great view and brilliant ambience from the minute you arrive. But let's get to the food which is the most important part of a dining experience. Every single course our group ordered was impeccable. Presentation? First class. Flavours? First class. Every course was superb. We loved the attention from our servers. Every attention was made to every single detail. Everything was delicious. I can't wait to return and I will never forget our first night here. Fantastic!
Christmas Buffet
By TravelTalk2 |
We came for the Christmas Day buffet. This is a very, very good buffet. They have turkey, prime rib, roast, salmon, two types of stuffing, tons of appetizers and desserts, the whole deal! The quality of the food is quite good, everything is well stocked. Service is great, staff are everywhere taking care of you. View and ambiance are both great. The reason for four vs. five stars is an issue with the hostesses. Both women, and one in particular, were NOT appropriately dressed for this establishment. The one hostess had her "girls" more than fully on display and was wearing a tank top that completely showed her bra in the back. She had so much make up on you had the impression you were being greeted at a strip club, not a nice, somewhat elegant, restaurant. Add to that the fact that she had a bad attitude and you lose a star.
Fun and enjoyable atmosphere with great views!
By GRFDave |
Excellent service! Great menu with a wonderful selection of wines. A must visit if you in Seattle. Our visit provided not only a wonderful lunch but a spectacular view of Mount Rainier!
Dissspointment
By Nicole G |
Have been coming for 23 years with visiting friends and family. A great place to show off Seattle seafood and skyline. Thankfully on our recent visit our guests’ meals were tasty - the black cod wowed. And my poke was also fine. Unfortunately my husband ‘s fettuccine seemed recooked with mushy pasta and overly rich sauce. My biggest complaint was my sushi: the outer rice layer was more like over cooked rice paste than individuals kernels of rice that stick together. Not only was the texture WRONG but the taste was off too
Great food and views in the Emerald City
By Marco 1986 |
I came here while I was staying downtown in Belltown. The drive wasn’t too far. Inside the restaurant is beautiful, it has koi ponds which was pretty cool. My food was great and the server was nice. I ordered the surf and turf plus mandarine ginger sorbet, it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. The view is amazing. It’s really close to the water and the look of downtown at night is stunning. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Expectations Met.
By fillfox |
Have been going to Palisades since it opened in 1992. I've always had a good time. recently went there to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary. requested a view table - done. The fish dishes were excellent- halibut cheeks and red snapper. Also- what made the night extra special was the service of Sarah (in dining ) our waitress. She has excellent people skills and appreciated our celebration. She was a pleasure. There is a reason that this restaurant is still on its feet after 25 years in a very competitive arena.
An Anniversary Delight
By Robert M |
The restaurant offers small but special amenities if you reserve a table well in advance for a special celebration. The greeting card on the table surrouded by rose petals was seen by my wife as a special treat. Thank you. Minor detail - anniversary not birthday reservation - so be clear. Fresh fish with some fantastic flavors abounds, and be aware the chef's evening choice is worth considering.l Service is 5-diamond quality. Don't be afraid to ask questions - your server is ready to guide you.thru menu options. That was much appreciated. A beautiful evening overlooking the hustle of the nearby marina, and the soft and romantic music from the piano set the tone for the evening. Only concern we had is that oure table sat at the end of the window-side table row. A row of 2-person guest seating at the dyess just above us placed their conversation loudly and solidly at ear level and did not offer quite the interlude for a couple celebdrting an anniversary.
Fallen From on High
By Neeta M |
This restaurant was once our go to for a special experience. It is unlikely I will ever go back. The service was mediocre and the food was expensive and poorly prepared. There are so many alternatives in Seattle I would recommend skipping this place.
Food not the same as years ago
By AWM85 |
Came for my birthday and the food was not the same as it was before. Service was not amazing, and the food was definitely off. Server recommended the Kung Pao calamari, was ok but tasted like something you would get at PF Chang’s. Scallop entrees were poorly paired with sides- sitting on top of giant dry corn cakes with a side of not so fresh Dungeness crab and overpowering bacon/basalmic relish. Not impressed- been 5 years and don’t know if I’ll be back. The drinks were better than the food. Also, was my birthday and they usually bring a cake with candles and they did not this time.
Great view, disappointing food
By Barbara K |
I've eaten here many times over the years, surprised I haven't reviewed it. The food was always very good. We went on Thanksgiving for something special without turkey, and made a much earlier reservation than we usually would so we could appreciate the view. Even with gray rainy skies, we did enjoy the view. Our server was great. I started with champagne and Pacific oysters, which I was told were Kumamoto, as they had run out of "the others". They were very tasty, but incredibly small. I've eaten a lot of oysters, and have never had any this small. Made for a quick appetizer! My husband had the crab lobster bisque, which was served in a huge tureen! It was delicious. Next he had the Caesar, which he liked, and it had what looked like tiny anchovy balls in it. My blue cheese pear salad was OK, not overdressed, but not enough blue cheese - if you order a blue cheese salad you like blue cheese! And the pickled onions were overkill. Then we shared the seafood bucatini, which was cooked perfectly, and they kindly split it for us. But it was so bland! We both added salt, which helped, but not much seafood flavor. The small amount of crab on top was dry and tasteless. Very disappointing! Even dessert was disappointing, as they no longer offer the trio of creme brûlée, my favorite. We had a good time, spent a lot of money, and don't think we'll be back unless we hear the food has improved a lot.
Great service, great view but food - meh.
By Rhonda W |
So, more and more I stay away from the higher priced places - the food, for the most part, just doesn't deliver and Palisades, as feared, was a disappointment. Good ingredients but execution falls short although the plates were pretty. That said, this is a nice spot and our server was great but the food did not warrant the price. Go for a burger downstairs at Maggie Bluffs.
Favorite Restaurant in Seattke
By noise43 |
Nice decor, ambiance and very good food. Consistent over the past several years we have visited. Crab cakes are the best we had in the Pacific Northwest - made with crab not fillers. A little difficult to find but Waze gets you there. Trust the GPS eve if it looks like you are in the middle of nowhere.
Their 25th anniversary and my DIL's 25th birthday
By RHMarkham |
Hard to believe this restaurant is 25 years old! But my memories of it and wanting a special place to celebrate my new daughter-in-law's 25th birthday made this a good choice of a place to eat. I moved out of the area and haven't been to the Palisade for ages. I read recent reviews and found some uneven areas of performance that I certainly didn't remember. Nonetheless, I went ahead and booked a dinner to celebrate. My new DIL isn't from Seattle and I have been introducing her to some of my favorite spots and activities. The Palisades did not disappoint us last night. From the efficient driver picking us up at the Pan Pacific right on time, to the lovely views, to the prompt but not obtrusive actions of our servers, everything combined to make it a special memory for us. My young adults loved the piano set on high and the meandering stream--it was a place to relax and enjoy. My son had the American wagyu beef and she had the red snapper special and both seemed pleased. I had the crab-stuffed prawns and while they were okay, they were a bit bland. I won't rate this restaurant as my favorite seafood place but I would continue to considerate a good place to take people. Ambience does really matter to the dining experience. It can't carry it all--so service and quality dishes contribute too--but this place has ambience in spades. Thank you!
Over priced nice views
By marguerite c |
I went there with a group. We ordered the seafood tower and the lobster was so overcooked it was not edible. The fried calamari was almost candied it was so sweet. My dinner was luke warm to cold when it arrived. I would not go back.
Great view, great establishment
By picchiosandman |
Went to Palisade for a birthday celebration. We had a wonderful night that started with drinks at the bar prior to be seated followed by a spectacular meal. The place was packed however the service continued to be excellent and certainly attentive. The food was just delightful. Started with a pupu tower followed by the specials of the day. All cooked to perfection capped by a wonderful bottle of red wine and once again great service. All in all a must do.
Dinner with a city view
By lynna956 |
The quintessential dinner and view of Seattle. The minute you walk in the river running through the restaurant with live fish swimming. Walk over the bridge and the view is breathtaking over the marina and of mount rainier. Service was impeccable and entertaining as well. If looking for a taste of the Northwest (a bit spendy) you will not be disappointed and money well spent. They specialize in seafood and steaks. Did you say desert? The best Creme brûlée ever. Enjoy!
Always a treat!
By Lane J |
The Palisade (note: no "s" on the tail end) has been a favorite of our for more than a decade. Set above the yacht harbor a Smith Cove, the ambiance is hard to beat. The menu selections are not routine or boring. A nice place for a "special" occasion or just a nice dinner with friends.
Perfect!
By Jennifer B |
The first Thanksgiving that I didn't have to cook for the family because everyone was out of town. My husband and I decided on Palisade for our own celebration. Absolutely WONDERFUL! Service was spot on, meal was fantastic and ambiance perfect! Looks like we may have a new tradition!
Fantastic ambiance and food
By H20runner |
The view is beautiful, greeted with a man made river when you first walk in that has Steelhead trout swimming in it. The menu is pricey but delicious so worth the extra cost. If you don’t have a reservation you can sit at a table in the bar area and still have a nice view.
Disappointed a second time
By tahoe7 |
I was disappointed again in the food and service. My husband and I went for our anniversary lone year ago and the food and service was underwhelming. I attributed this to COVID and staffing shortages. I figured things might be improved from one year ago. I was disappointed again. Our food seemed like it was sitting under a warmer for awhile before we recieved it. They also forgot part of my order and threw away our leftover desserts when we asked for a box. Historically Palisades has great food, presentation, and service. I think they might still be struggling with staffing issues. I will wait awhile again before coming here given the service and food does not match the high prices.
Chef Woo! is a culinary genius. This NW forward menu is great with Chef's features craft Cocktails curates every moment to a memorable experience. Enjoyed the Black Cod, so delicate and flavors are life changing and will dream about this entree till the next time I visit Seattle.
Birthday lunch
By Linus T |
We went for a late lunch to celebrate a family birthday. We were able to get a table by the windows but most tables have a great view of the Harbor. The steelhead was especially good. The birthday desert for the honoree was a very good brownie. The only slight disappoint was the bread pudding. Dryer than expected.
Great Food, Great View, Great Service.
By Amaury A |
We visited with a party of 9 to Palisade and had an amazing experience. I highly recommend the calamari dish as it is the best calamari appetizer I ever had in my life without exaggeration. The food was delicious and the service even more incredible. Someone in our party ordered the Surf and Turf and the steak was overcooked (my guess sitting at the table while he was eating the lobster) and they immediately replaced it and brought another one no questions asked. They then took it off the bill as well for the inconvenience and I think that's what makes a restaurant great. If you can, try to get a reservation at dusk and you'll be in for a treat as the views are incredible. Palisade will become a staple for me every time I visit Seattle.
Disappointed
By Janet H |
We were celebrating a family birthday. The restaurant was not busy as we had an early reservation. Drinks took a while to arrive and two were incorrect. We enjoyed our appetizers but when the main course was served,two guests had to wait on their meals. One was not what the guest ordered and had to be made. The other guest ordered the lobster tail which was mushy and he did not finish it. We arrived at 5:15 and we finalized our meal at 8:30. It was not to the standard we were accustomed to at Palisades
Excellent Seafood with Spectacular View
By Brazingo |
Large restaurant but quiet and nice atmosphere. The menu has a great variety of fresh seafood and even has gluten-free pasta. Wine and beer selection is also wonderful. The service is impeccable. The restaurant is on the water with a wonderful view. Ask for a table next to the window. After dinner, the area is a great for a walk along the water. Great view, great food, great service - great restaurant for all occasions.
Fine Dining!
By tripgirl22 |
Fabulous menu and food with a beautiful view. Not inexpensive, but worth it for a special occasion or to treat yourself to a lovely evening out! We enjoyed dinner with 2 other couples before our Alaska cruise the following morning. It was a memorable dinner.
Nice Relaxed Dinner in an Excellent Surrounding
By Psamob |
This fine seafood restaurant is located in a beautiful surrounding where you see sailboats galore and great views of Elliott Bay. We had a relaxed seafood dinner with superb food. The service was impeccable. We sat and visited for quite some time while partaking of our dinner and never felt rushed, despite the restaurant's being full. This is a great establishment.
Downfall of a great restaurant
By Tony L |
We have come here for years and years. The last time we visited, right after the post-pandemic-opening, the food wasn’t good and the service was great. This time was the opposite: the food was quite good! The black cod is terrific as were the oysters. And this would get five stars if it was a mid-priced restaurant. But it’s not. It’s quite expensive and expectations are high for those dollars. Missing now: the fish are gone from the pond, they were “out” of items on the menu, and no longer do they bring you bread without a special ask for bread. They also used to bring crayons and coloring paper for kids— no more, unless you ask. The service was uneven - the server didn’t know the kinds of oysters they had. The server also disappeared for long stretches. Very odd. Hopefully, Palisade will make a comeback — but I’m not sure I’ll be back to find out.
Good as always!
By Anotherblessing |
Lovely atmosphere, great service, terrific eats and what a view! Dinner was had by six adults and one eight-year-old. Everyone was pleased in every way! There was complimentary valet parking or you could self-park. Being a little out of the regular way makes this place quiet and relaxing. Almost do not want to share news of its existence!
tried this again- horrible service
By Loves2TravelALOT_11 |
We thought an early happy hour here would net good results but we were sorely disappointed. The place had just opened so very few customers in the bar area. We thought tat would help facilitate prompt service. We were wrong. Our server was slow and very disinterested in serving us and most of the tables around us. The people at the table behind us were talking about the slow service before their food arrived so when it did, they asked the waitress for the check then. She didnt get it for them so they had to remind her about the check once they were finished eating and still waiting. Our service was the same. We had to flag her down for our check even though we wanted additional drinks. We didnt want to wait another 20 minutes for the drinks so we asked for the check to find another nice place to eat. Food- lettuce wraps were horrible- had to send them back. As RUI ( Restaurants International ) frequent diners we won't be back.
Brunch
By Shari F |
Everything was amazing at Brunch. Loved the crab legs and prime rib. Great variety of choice. Ordered a bloody Mary and was very tasty. Would definitely return. Even though it was a rainy day the view was nice of the marina.
Great food barely visible
By stefano s |
The location is great as well as the food quality. Even the beer is a very good pale ale not to say about the available wine selection. Nevertheless I would visit it again during the day as I had the feeling that the lighting level was too dim. This does not allow you to completely enjoy the food in your dish. Enjoy!
Well worth the ride out!
By JamesUKUSA69 |
This restaurant is a little bit off the beaten track. It sits in a marina North end of Seattle. A simple $12 Uber/Lyft rideshare. From the time you walk in you will be amazed with the view of the marina and water. Try to get a window table. Menu is extensive. Sea food was amazing. Serve top notch, thanks Markus. Haven't stopped recommending the place since we got back home.
Disappointing Visit to Palisades
By Obelisk1776 |
Palisades has a terrific view of Elliott Bay, cruise ships, the nearby boar marina and - most importantly - Mt Rainier when visible. However, despite its natural assets and great location, they mismanage the bookings and their own reserved events (like the celebration of life booking that was supposed to end well prior to our arrival). Due to the arrival of special overseas friends in town, we had called about dining outside on their bar patio twice (including the day of the arrival). It opens at 4pm, and has a special menu, but upon arrival we were told that the outdoor patio was being used for that day’s event, and that we would have to wait 15 minutes for it to open. Then we were told to wait 30 minutes and then 45 minutes, before being told that the patio would not be available for several hours. We and about 10 other guests waited in the dark lobby for the patio to open - all to no avail until someone finally located their reservation book to examine when the special event was supposed to end. The seating personnel were nice and apologetic, but still confused and clueless. So we finally abandoned the patio idea, and got a regular seat near the windows. C’est la vie! As for the food, it was fine, but unremarkable. However, they did have outstanding warmed bread, and a very nice house red wine by the glass. Please be aware, though, that the prices are quite high. Ages ago, I was a waiter for Restaurants Unlimited (the owner of Palisades, Palomino and other similar restaurants), but the chaos we experienced was likely a one-of-a-kind event. However, I am still puzzled as to why they were so confused in light of the backlog of incoming customers camped-out at the front door. I will probably check them out again in a couple of years when my memory of this visit recedes.
Beautiful view, nice atmosphere.
By Miranda T |
Went here in a group of 3. The salmon and the stuffed prawns were exquisite! However, my husband’s steak was so salty he couldn’t eat it but the incredible staff was very quick to prepare him another. This is definitely a nice dining experience so expect to take your time and it will be pricey. However, the view is beautiful and the staff’s customer service is out of this world. I would recommend for a special occasion.
Great Views, Ambiance, and Food
By Frank S |
We visited on a busy Friday evening in mid-August. Although we had reservations (one month in advance of a special occasion) we were asked to wait until our table could be cleared and made ready (15 minutes). The waiter who served us was a bit disorganized and somewhat forgetful (he tried to remember all of the drink orders without writing them down). Needless to say that didn't work out too well. Dinner was very good, although the service remained somewhat spotty throughout the evening (very busy). All in all a very enjoyable evening since we were not in a hurry and the waiter was a very good sport about his few small mistakes with the orders. Would recommend the restaurant too all.
This place knows what they are doing!
By Kaitlyn B |
Palisade was AMAZING! It was worth the short drive around the bay. My fiance and I went for Sunday brunch and would love to make it a weekly date! Bottomless mimosas (4 different kinds) in which our server gladly kept us filled. The buffet was outstanding. Anything you can imagine-great seafood, pancakes, and dessert! Our waitress Emily was a saint and knew what we needed before we asked for it. We were celebrating a special occasion so the table had rose petals and a card that said congratulations. The vibe was awesome, view was beautiful (We were as close to the water as you could get), and I can't think of a better place to enjoy a Sunday afternoon. If you are in town make sure you visit this fabulous place.
Terrible service, avergae food for high price
By mdatac |
Seafood dish missing an item, waiter and manager refused to do anything about it. Waiter's food knowledge was neglible and manager unhelpful. Overall, the staff do not know the restaurant business or have any people skills. The food is not cheap but rates only average. This restaurant service is the worst in Seattle so far, I would advise against eating there.
This is a Must!
By mmac1824 |
Pleasantly surprised to get acquainted with a new place that offers spectacular views of the city from a different view. Look back at the city but still have wonderful views of the mountains and water. Better yet, the food was absolutely delicious and the service was OUTSTANDING.
The food was good, but the view was amazing
By rxbecca22 |
We ate here our last night in Seattle, and had a wonderful meal. It was restaurant week, so we got a wonderful sample of seafood and steak. The salmon spread was flavorful without having an overpowering fishy taste. I also had the wine flight, which provided generous pours, and progressed white/red/sparkling with the meal. The server was pleasant and attentive when needed. The best part was the view of the skyline, Space Needle to Great Wheel, at night. My phone just wouldn’t do it justice. The design of the restaurant allows for almost every table to have a view. Bonus that they have a kids menu, and even our four-year-old had a three course meal!
Not very impressive for the price. Overpriced!
By Ken L |
We had a big group. It was our first time visiting Seattle and wanted to eat at a nice restaurant, even if the price is a bit high. Reading the reviews, we chose Palisade, which proved to have been a mistake. The food was very average. I got steak and was not at all good, especially paying $54 for it. Texas Roadhouse steaks are better and way cheaper. The service was ok. They had two servers, but still made mistake. They did not ask how we were doing, at least not for me and the 8 closest to me. They didn't ask how my steak came out, which usually happens when you order steak. I would strongly recommend a different restaurant that is in the same price range. Overpriced!
Amazing View, Excellent Meal, Excellent Service, Easy Parking, Under the Bridge
By TRAVELINGCWS |
I was in town and I was to meet a former business associate who recommended dinner at Palisade. Since I am not local, using WAZE I missed the exit to go under the bridge to the restaurant. It's not a quick place to get back to when you miss the exit - adds about 5 or 6 minutes to the trip. Parking was easy, plenty of parking out front. I was greeted by doormen and a friendly hostess who promptly seated me. We started with a nice bottle of wine my friend ordered - Pinot Noir. Excellent. I had traveled all day and I already ate three meals so I ordered a light dinner. I started with a small romaine CAESAR with HERB CROUTONS and PECORINO TOSCANO. It was excellent. Next, I ordered the SASHIMI GRADE AHI TUNA TACOS* - CRISPY GYOZA "TACO SHELLS", EDAMAME-AVOCADO PUREE, SWEET SOY GLAZE - Excellent. Then I had the tempura SHRIMP & CRAB ROLL - CRISPY SHRIMP, CRAB SALAD, BURDOCK ROOT, SRIRACHA AIOLI, SWEET SOY GLAZE. Another excellent choice. My associate ordered the PARMESAN CRUSTED HALIBUT CHEEKS* CAULIFLOWER AND SPINACH PUREE, MARKET VEGETABLE, ORANGE BEURRE BLANC. Looked and smelled very good, not too heavy. Excellent overall dinner, I would return.
Beautiful view and Delicious Food
By YorbaLindaStar |
This restaurant overlooks the harbor and yacht moorings. We came before sunset and the view was spectacular of the water, the ferries coming and going, the opposite shore and kayakers enjoying the evening. The restaurant itself is tiered, spacious and with lovely decor. We enjoyed Kung pao calamari (s very generous portion) salads and stuffed shrimp. Service was outstanding and we thought it was a very romantic and special meal.
Birthday lunch
By Nancy D |
What a memorable birthday lunch I had at Palisade! We arrived to find rose petals and a birthday greeting card at our table. We ordered the three course lunches, which were very good. The portions were large and we had leftovers to take home. My dessert was fancied up with a candle and greeting in chocolate. Service was fantastic,and the view of Puget Siund can't be beat.
Lunch : Pricey But Excellent
By 100QA |
Amazing views, excellent staff, good quality food that is well prepared, very pricey for lunch. We liked the bisque,seafood pasta and sole. Desert was surprisingly good. Try the bread pudding!
Wonderful evening
By Sas B |
A wonderful selection on the menu. Excellent food and great service. The restaurant has a fantastic water view. Enjoyed watching the boats and ferries go by during our meal.
Come in on an empty stomach
By gbzayds |
We came here for brunch and it's one of the best buffet brunches I had. A lot of variety in the food they offer. It also has a good view of the marina/port. They offer drink all you can mimosas for brunch with 4 different flavors. They also have a chocolate fountain which will be a hit for kids and chocolate lovers. The servers are very attentive. Price is a bit high (we paid close to 200 bucks for 3 people) but the quality of food is great so to us, it was worth it.
Average
By yummyaddict111 |
This restaurant is overrated. That was quite a drive from downtown, ok nice views probably because we arrived at night time, so if you take away the scenic view it’s a basic seafood restaurant. The seafood and sushis were average, nothing crazy. The service was nice but just with a couple of table, they have tendency to forget you. Will not come back.
Wow the Food was Disappointing
By JParsons1954 |
We were fortunate to get a gift card for Palisades, and know the view is incredible. The service was terriblle - left alone on multiple occasions where we had to move our plates to the side, asking for bread three times, etc. But the food. My wife had the black cod and I the crab cakes. The black cod was overcooked and came with almost plain rice and about 2 cups of under-cooked carrots. My crab cakes were good, but they came under a huge pile of random and plain vegetables. The only saving grace was they comped us both entries, which we did not ask for, and they were very apologetic. I wish I could give a better review based on the attempt to make it right, but they absolutely need to get more creative with their food. Otherwise, the only reason to visit is for the view.
Terrible service
By peter |
This is my second time I visit this restaurant . I brought my co-work to this restaurant . I order a glass of high price wine. Without my permission ,The waiter brought a bottle of high price wine open the bottle. I refuse to take it. This is worst experience I ever have . I was embarrassed and humiliated in front my friend. The waiter did this is try to pump up the food bill. I will never go back to this restaurant again.
Fantastic views, great service, food is average
By Lori M |
We celebrated our anniversary dinner at Palisades. This was the first time we'd been back to the restaurant in 20+ years and didn't know what to expect. The atmosphere was very nice with stunning views of the marina, Mt. Rainier, and the sunset. The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. We both opted for steak, a fillet and prime rib. The filet was excellent and the prime rib was average. Sides were very salty. All in all it was an enjoyable experience. We'd likely return but try the seafood options next time.
Last time going there
By DaveD |
Been going here for 25 years. Wow has the place suffered. Started with slow seating in a relatively empty restaurant. The carpet near our table smelled like several cats are living there. Very slow bar service. Very, very, very slow food service. Food was incredibly ordinary. Music was auto-tuned anything set on infinite loop - "boots n cats" sort of theme. Still is an amazing location. Maybe time for a condo conversion.
This place never disapoints.
By Launa H |
Ask for a window doesn't always happen but such fun to see what is going on below. Food is delicous. A little spendy but worth the sevice and atmosphere. I haven't had a bad meal yet. Enjoy!
Spetacular view, good food, informative, friendly service
By Dean S |
Evening meal on a Sunday night and lucky enough to get a windown seat when Mt. Rainier was visible in all its glory which makes almost any dining experience acceptable. Waiter was helpful at explaining things, friendly and reasonably attentive. Drinks brought promptly. Food well presented and of good quality. Price not cheap, but not out of line - $200 for three with wine and dessert.
Fantastic in every way!!
By beachlover19762018 |
I booked a reservation for 14 people (a family vacation with my husband’s family) after reviewing menu, etc. during our Seattle stay before our cruise. Everyone, from the driver transporting our group back and forth from our downtown hotel, to the bartenders, to our servers, were wonderful!!!! I wanted a restaurant on the water with great views and great seafood....and Palisade has it all. We got a table near the window, so beautiful views. The food was DELICIOUS! I had a special for the day.... Ahi Tuna served two ways... so GOOD! Everyone agreed it was phenomenal food. That says a lot because we had 14 people, some of them teenagers, too. They also have a kids’ menu which is a plus. When I was researching restaurants, I came across some really fancier ones that did not include a kids menu (my 6 yr old is not going to appreciate fresh seafood 😊). Also, the bar menu was very diverse. My mother-in-law (who is in her 80’s) was so happy to see there were Sazaracs on the bar menu! Great service, DELICIOUS food, and a stellar ambiance made for a great evening. And everyone was thanking me for finding such a great place 😊
Terrific place and authentic Pacific Northwest
By djamundsen |
We've been at Palisade twice in the last few weeks. Once for Thanksgiving and the other at Christmas. Both times we've enjoyed the best buffets we have ever visited (and that includes several in Las Vegas). The food is terrific and some of the best prime rib ever. The stuffing was outrageously good. Seafood, desserts, salads, breads and all the accoutrements. Everybody is friendly, the view is great. The servers attend to everything.
Brunch review
By dgnldy |
Came here for the first time this past weekend for their brunch. Restaurant was great, right out on the water on a nice day. The servers were great. Food was good. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to taste everything! There was plenty. I'm not a big eater, so $52 for a person (I didn't pay the bill so I'm assuming it was $52 per their website) seemed a little pricey (Alki's Salty costs more). But overall for the view/atmosphere it was good. Oh, they had $10 all you can drink mimosas!! you can't beat that price though! I probably won't come back on a regular basis, but this will definitely be on the list for any special occasion.
A great place for a special occasion or a splurge dinner
By wildcated72 |
My wife and I recently had the pleasure of eating at this excellent bayside restaurant in Seattle as part of the dine around Seattle program. We returned a few days later with our daughter and had a second very good meal. The seafood was fresh and perfectly prepared and the sides were excellent (great bread, we had 2 baskets). The deserts were excellent and the coffee very good (some restaurants don’t put much thought to there coffee) . The service was attentive but not intrusive and everyone was very friendly. The prices are a little high for everyday dinners but great for special occasions and the occasional splurge. I can’t wait for the next family birthday! Well worth a visit just for the view. We will be back soon.
A Marvelous Dinner in an Elegant and Chic (But Family-Friendly) Environment
By PilotMike2009 |
We were a happy group of seven that arrived late — very late! — for our dinner reservation on a busy Friday night in May, 2018. The Pallisades dining room was jammed, and there was a long line of people waiting for their tables in the lobby. Nonetheless, the maitre 'd knew we were on our way and had preserved our table by the windows, which was enormously kind of him. We ordered drinks and starters and salad and dinners and deserts, and every single element of the meal was simply perfect. The wines were fine, the fish perfectly presented, the salads crunchy. You simply could not have asked for a better presentation, and the hit of the evening was the prime rib. Simply elegant. In fact, the Pallisades is the epitome of elegance. The huge dining room is handsome and the view across the Bay is stunning. The other guests are generally sumptuously dressed and coiffed, some even in long gowns. The restaurant is family-friendly but not raucous — it's great fun to see small children well-behaved and chatting with their family and friends. There also is a handsome bar and lounge area, where Seattle's best and brightest glisten in the evening light. Dinner for the seven of us was around $1,000, so the glamour doesn't come cheap. This also is a great "event restaurant" for birthdays, weddings and graduations, so expect to see large groups from time to time. But when you put the whole package together, it's impossible to beat, not just in Seattle but almost anywhere I have ever been. I definitely will be back, with eagerness!
Great View and good food
By Denver7889 |
First time visit and we loved the restaurant and the view of the city and the marina. We were lucky enough to get a window side table and it made the evening very pleasant. Marcus took good care of us and the cocktails were well made and enjoyable. We ordered the Crab and Lobster dip as an appetizer which was delicious. Dinner for both of us was Halibut. One was baked with an avocado lime salsa the other was balckened. Both were well prepared. The only short coming to all is the the food was not very warm when it cam out.
Horrible service
By Gavriella S |
It was my first time going to the Palisade. I was amazed at the incredible view of the city and the mountain. It was truly breathtaking. I liked the atmosphere as well with live piano music and the indoor pool of fish. So my expectations were high. But the service was absolutely horrible. We had a 7:00 reservation but we're nit seated until 7:40 and it wasnt really that crowded. Then it took another 35 minutes for anyone to approach the table and that was ONLY after I went and asked a random server of there was service to our table. We never even got anyone to fill out water glasses prior to that. When we got a waiter assigned he seemed like he would be good but he consistently forgot about bringing things over and checking in. Because of the delay he offered a free appetizer but while he brought the appetizer we ordered, it took another 25 minutes for the "free" appetizer which only seemed to delay us getting dinner. It took another 30 minutes after that to get dinner. My son and his girlfriend ordered drinks that only arrived when dinner arrived. And the food was good but not great. I had the shrimp and scallops. The scallops were delicious but the shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. For the price of the meal, I expected much better food and service. It was a very disappointing experience and I will not return or recommend it.
3+
By Angela L |
I have been going to Palisades since my 20’s. Through my dating years, birthdays, promotions, New Years Eve fireworks dining’s, even my marriage proposal. Celebrated 20 years tonight and brought the kids to show them the place that has been our go-to. Same beautiful view,(my 13 year old created several boomerangs to post on Insta, loved the rose petals on our table and enjoyed watching the sea otters in the marina) same great service, same relaxed atmosphere but the food is not as it once was. Don’t get me wrong, good food, just missing the flair it once had. I like simple food prepared well. Not anything over the top. Chef Howie added so much more soul to the food. The menu has changed (of course) but missed my blue cheese and pear salad with hazelnuts....ordered the newer version and passed it over to my husband as the vinaigrette was overpowering and drippy and gone are the days of baby shrimp on top. We’ll skip the salads next time and go for the pupu platter. Also gone are the wonderful and lavish bread assortments with butter....but the warm house bread was perfectly prepared. Not too yeasty, not sour, not too crusty but serviceable and served warm. I miss that bread assortment. Dinner was good, just not memorable. Tried a bit of everyone’s food and while everything was prepared as requested....the flavorings seemed to depend mostly on salt. My prawns were flat tasting, not wonderfully toasty, delicate, nutty flavors. Just dense shrimp meat. It was refreshing to see a $9 kids plate with a wonderful appetizer (chose panzanella crackers and cheese), healthy steak portion, brocollini and steak fries, beverage AND a creme brûlée. Little guy was happy. Dessert was always something to look forward to with a hot coffee but we didn’t see anything that looked good enough to splurge on. No more white chocolate mousse cake.... 13 year old loved the creme brûlée (maple, chocolate, vanilla) and the 9 year old liked his vanilla creme brûlée from kids menu. Parents stole a taste...yum. In closing....still a solid pick. We may return here and there for nostalgia’s sake, but I gotta say, for the price it’s a tough sale. It was just good. Not close your eyes and savor kind of good. That’s what I remember. Disclaimer: we don’t drink alcohol so maybe that enhances flavors and enjoyment. Also, we have severe food allergies and we were treated like humans!!! Seriously, server didn’t bat an eye. Took care of allergies efficiently, seemed very e competent about cross contamination, without making a big hoopla and making us feel uncomfortable. (But we still ordered steaks, just to be safe).
Super disappointing.
By Calisurfer97 |
We were very excited to be able to get reservations at a nice place to celebrate our son's graduation from UW. Getting to Palisade was a bit tricky, but once we found it we were very impressed. Unfortunately, that's where the great experience ended and a mediocre experience began. The hostess escorted us to our table and it was a fair bit of time before our waitress arrived. We ordered drinks and appetizers and they came in reasonable time. The lobster bisque was quite good. After ordering our mains it seemed to take a very long time. When they did arrive, two of the meals had to go back as they were stone cold. I ordered the Seafood Bucatini and the crab meat was overcooked. No one was really happy with their meals. When the bill came they charged us twice for the meals we sent back. Not the experience we were hoping for. Too bad too, as the view was spectacular! But the city skyline could not rescue that meal.
Saved on New Years eve
By TomStaggs |
For New Years, they offer a5- course, fixed price menu. The selections and presentation were great, but the thing that made our evening superb was our waitress, Lisa. We arrived 20 minutes late due to the Uber ride from hello, but she got everything organized so that we still had a fantastic meal while making it out in time for our concert. We'll definitely wil be back!
Fabulous Place with a fantastic view
By Camerabug303 |
We went here to celebrate our anniversary. When we got to the table we found rose pedals on the table along with a card congratulating us on our anniversary. The server was especially friendly and welcoming and had a lot of good suggestions on what we might want to try on the menu. We got a table by the window and had a great view of the marina with all the expensive yachts and a panoramic view of the Seattle skyline. I heard live piano music planning and looked around to see who was playing. To my surprise, the piano was actually on a ledge above the restaurant and it was a player piano. Now to the best part. My wife and I both ordered Surf and Turf (spendy, but it was our anniversary). I got an end piece of prime rib and it was one of the best pieces of meat I've ever had. I'm not a young guy, so you know I've had a lot of prime rib, and this was really good. The "surf" was both a small lobster tail and a nice piece of salmon. My wife likes her salmon medium rare, and I prefer well done. The chef cooked each piece just like we like it, and it was very good. The vegetable with the meal was Brussel sprouts. Now I have to tell you that I don't like Brussel sprouts. But these looked different, so I tried them and they were wonderful. The manager stopped by our table and I commented on these and he said they had a special way of cooking them. They blanch them (boiling water), then toss them in a deep fryer for a few seconds and then cut them in half and add white raisons, almonds and some other things I can't remember. I cleaned my plate of these and even stole one off my wife's plate when she got full. This is not a cheap place. But for a special occasion like this, it is very much worth every penny.
Picture perfect for prom
Fantastic view of Elliott Bay. Impeccable service. Appetizer of fried calamari was delicious. Parmesan crusted Halibut was phenomenal. Always a delight to eat here. Reservations a must.
Great service, great food.
Celebrated the 51st anniversary of friends. Used complimentary town car service from our hotel, which was very nice. We all chose seafood and enjoyed every morsel. Super waitress. The town car would not start when we wanted to return to the hotel. The manager called a cab and provided the fare...now that is service!
Outstanding food and view!
By gregh53 |
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Palisade on the waterfront in Seattle. Service and food were outstanding. The Black Cod was wonderful; some of the best fresh seafood I have ever had. First class!
