An amazing menu of way too many things. I like the Coconut Chicken Soup or in Thai: Thom Kha Guy (which I’m probably spelling wrong). Near Thai town but more clean than most of Thai town. Also, there is a Thai man who sings Elvis covers, it’s hilarious. They call him Thai Elvis. Make sure you go when he’s singing. Totally reasonable prices. They do have take-out and you can park in the garage by the Storage place for free while you pick up food if you are taking it to go just tell them. You have to pay if you eat there though.

We'd learned that this restaurant featured entertainment t by a Thai Elvis impersonator and that it was a fun quickly thing to do while visiting LA. It's currently included in TimeOut Los Angeles list of quirky things to do while visiting here. We reserved a table, drove a hour from our hotel in Santa Monica ordered dinner and awaited Elvis. A man started singing about 7:30 . Not even remotely an Elvis. When we asked the server she said "Thai Elvis isn't here anymore. He had a stroke. TWO YEARS ago!" We felt somewhat deceived. The food was fine but there seemed to be a kind of deliberate bait and switch thing going on. They should find a replacement t Thai Elvis.

Great food, reasonable prices, AND you get to watch Thai Elvis as you dine!

I first became aware of Palm Thai due to the famous "Thai Elvis" who would sing there a few nights a week. Based upon the large number of Asians who dine there, I'm guessing that the food is authentic. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the fellow diners and the food.

We went the four of us on an informal business dinner. Many different dishes on the menu card, we ordered 5 dishes for sharing. Food was good and there was plenty of it. The juices and "coolers" was a nice supplement to the somewhat spicy food. Will come again.

Cheap, delicious and fun!

Food wasnt really good. I ordered a plate with shrimps and had to pay more for that( more than if it were chicken, pork or meat) and it came with 5 shrimps only. The waitress didn't accept a traveller card because it didn't have my name on it, and was really rude when i tried to explain that that's how traveller cards work. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Despite its name, this restaurant is far from offering authentic Thai cuisine. The dishes lack the flavor and intensity that characterize this gastronomy. At about $35 per person, the experience did not live up to expectations. The place is spacious and well known, but I would not recommend it or come back. Ideal only if you are looking for a hassle-free meal, but not if you expect a true Thai experience.

Several from the office went for lunch. Food was very good and so was the service. Sweet and Sour dish wasn't the best but everything else we had was excellent.

Fast and decent service and food.

Thai Elvis rules. For me it's the best Thai restaurant in L.A.

The food is very authentic, with great spices and flavors. Good location with some on site parking. If you want a good, silly time, go to the Elvis Shows!

Palms is the best. Super cheap for what it is. Super delicious (hard to find better Thai food). Also it's really good for kids. They have a great fish tank, special kid size chairs, plastic plates and utensils. They really do cater to kids. Plus the food comes out within 5 minutes of ordering and it is loud enough that you child won't bother anybody sitting near you. Oh an my 5 year old loves the food here also. They also have a Thai Elvis impersonator. However he comes on a bit later and I haven't seen him ever since I had kids. We eat too early now.

Worth a visit just to see the 10 foot metal Elvis!

Went there with family Place was very big but dated Good service and pleasant staff I had green curry - delicious but hot hot hot They had a huge Levi's statue so I'm assuming there are nights where they have a band - sounds tacky but it would suit restuarant

We usually go to Thai Patio down the street from Palm Thai when we want Thai food. However we wanted to try some place new and we stopped here without a recommendation. We were not disappointed, and in fact left Palm Thai very satisfied and happy. The food is delicious, spicy and savory. I ordered the Tom Kha Kai or coconut soup. It was probably the best I've had, and I've tried many. This one had a very nice thick base to it, and it was spiced just right with tender strips of flavorful chicken. I loved it. Next I had the drunken noodles, which when done right are a little slice of heaven. These noodles were perfect, tender, slippery, tasty, with a brilliant texture. We also had the barbecue beef which had a wonderful sauce with it as well as the chicken on a stick or satay, which was extremely delicious and plentiful. We were very full when we left, and it was all so good. Their food is better than Thai Patio and we will go here from now on. The restaurant is large and loud, so be prepared for that. You should also like karaoke as it is this restaurant's draw. The service was good, albeit a bit inattentive. There were several large groups, and the wait staff seemed to be focused on them, forgetting about us several times. We had to wave them down three times. We also had to ask to refill our tea, something I've never had to do at Thai Patio. All in all it was well worth the new adventure!

If you were a fan of the original Palm Thai, further out on Hollywood Blvd, small, noisy, challenging parking and a floor show both on the tiny stage as well as with the patrons, then brace yourself for the bigger, shinier, more centrally located and modernized version that is the Palm Thai today. The location is more convenient, and the parking is outstanding ($2 valet inside the building), and on a Saturday evening there was no wait, so early on it was a total upgrade. Then as the dinner wore on, it became more obvious that in this version, bigger wasn't better. The food was OK. Everything was cooked, the service was on top of everything, and the Singa beer was ice cold. The room has the feel of a large German beer hall, long tables, food funneling in and out of the kitchen. The whole fish was OK, not great. The pineapple rice bland. The curry was ok and the egg rolls blazing hot but not tasty. The satay was solid, but not up to the standards of the Singapore Banana Leaf restaurant at Farmers Market. The staff work just as hard to get you out of there as fast as they can, but again, the place was about 2/3 full, and that old bustling energy was gone. To cap it off, after being there about an hour the female singer took the stage, and given the lack of a decent sound system, you could barely identify the songs, and then she was off stage and the hum of diners took over again. Maybe over time my memories of what the original restaurant used to be have been enhanced. The food tasted better, Elvis was actually in the house and singing. The hustle and energy created a buzz. Dinner tonight felt like the last time I'd pass this way. It was good, but sadly, not good enough.

My family loves this place, there's usually a long wait. They have an Asian Elvis singing on weekends haha. I like the atmosphere and it's not far from the Hollywood strip. I just hate the long wait time and there's no self parking. You gotta pay to park in their parking garage and tip!

This is a well-known restaurant with a good menu, but the service we received was less than stellar. We made a reservation for 20 for a bachelorette party, but I informed them that since people where coming from work and travelling from all over the LA area in rush-hour traffic, not all 20 of us would arrive at the same time. They said they understood that and when we arrived, the table was set. As other people trickled in, the server became irate and started accusing me of adding more people that I had originally reserved the table for, but there were still only 20 chairs and 20 people, no more. Also, Thai Elvis was sick so we didn't get to see him. I probably will not return even though I am only a block away from the restaurant. Food was good but not worth the rude treatment.

Excellent Thai food, great service. Been a few times, always good. Have yet to be disappointed. Located on Hollywood Blvd.

We ate here twice in the mid afternoon for a late lunch. The restaurant was about 1/2 full each time. The service is prompt and efficient but not friendly. The food was quite good and we of course over ordered and over ate since we love Thai and for sure their food qualifies as better than average Thai. Som Tum and Pad Kra Pao Gai (Papaya salad and basil chicken) were the best. The Green Curry and the Panang Curry were not quite as good, but still very eatable and enjoyable.. We had been here two years earlier on a Saturday night and witnessed the Thai Elvis crooning on stage. If you have not been here, by all means please go in the evening to see him perform. He is a hoot! But it will be very busy! And you may wait some time for a table. Since we know how crowded this restaurant can be in the evening, we purposely avoided the evening rush and ate late lunches (4pm) instead. Valet parking at 4 pm was a joy and cheap!.

Walking into this Thai Restaurant the first thing you notice is there are a lot of Thai people here so you know it must be authentic Thai food...and it is. The place is huge and it is a fun lively atmosphere. Besides the delicious food the prices are great and many nights there is live music performances especially the Thai Elvis!!! I highly recommend visting Palms Thai!

Very authentic Thai, and delicious, My favorites, green papaya salad with dried shrimp, garlic and pepper prawns, and whole fish. You can smell the lemongrass drifting from the plate. This is a restaurant where when they ask "how spicy", they mean it. If you can take spicy, order medium spicy, You'll love every bite. Lunch specials from 6.99, more expensive ala carte, There are many adventurous dishes on the menu, I like my favorites so much, I haven't explored. Fast service.

Love Thai food and we were certainly not disappointed. Excellent food good service. Very reasonable prices. Be careful when ordering spicy because it will make you sweat! Love it!

Went to The Palm Thai Restaurant in Hollywood... good food, but beware, even their "mild" spicy dishes are enough to destroy anyone who can't handle spice! There's really no such thing as mild in this place, so if you can't handle heat-- this is NOT the joint for you. But if you crave it, then you've come to the right place. Very good Thai, a bit crazy on the spice, for novices.

The room is large and airy, but there are still Thai Buddhist statues, etc. The menu selection is huge, and all the dishes so far are delicious. They have exotic dishes like wild boar and fried frog, but they are still solid on the standards. Parkinf can be difficult out on the street. They also do live music, which should be fun there.

Honestly I could not find anything wrong with the food but we have eaten better before. We ordered a curry and noodles plate. We requested baby corn sautéed but they would only give us steamed. We asked for a little coconut milk with plain noodles for our child and they wouldn't accommodate. We made it work. And we happened to catch the lunch special so the price was really quite reasonable. May come back for lunch but def not dinner.

Ahhh, remember when they had lunch specials for 5.99? I do! Not anymore but I still eat there or order take out. Hi Elvis

The food was good and the service nice. We ate their twice during our one week stay in LA and everytime the restaurant was packed. We loved the Thai Elvis show!

Red curry is flavorful. Beef salad is spicy even if you requested mild. Lots of fresh vegetables like morning glory and Chinese broccoli. Fried rice chicken and pa se u are my kids favorite. Reasonable prices $9-$13 a person. I always request individual rice cause they charge $1.5 per person on the table even if you don’t eat rice. Valet parking- impossible to find on the road $4

Since we were visitors, I asked my daughter if she knew a good Thai restaurant. She said Palms is famous and I can see why. Apart from the food which I'll describe below, its in "Thai Town" which is one of the many ethnic areas in LA so it was no surprise to find an attractive very Thai lady in a tight dress singing pop songs which were good. She was followed by an Elvis imitator also Thai who I thought was interesting but not really very good if you expected him to really sound like Elvis. The food was excellent. We live in Sydney which has many Thai restaurants and this one would compare with the best. I had a seafood curry which I found outstanding. We shared three dishes, the others being yellow chicken curry and chilli Basil chicken both of which I liked as did my daughter and partner. We went on a Saturday night and it was very loud. There were a lot of birthdays so the place was crowded and I suspect it is quieter on weekdays but I would go back despite the noise.

Here for business, needed a quick meal, and this place absolutely delivered. Authentic Thai food server fresh and served quick. Go for the drunken noodles!

Had a great meal here while in Hollywood on Our Honeymoon 3 years ago. From the reviews it looks like it's keeping up the high standards. It's at the non tourist end of The Boulevard but only a five minute taxi ride from The Hub. Food was divine and the portions are huge so be careful on that count when ordering, Everything we ate went down a treat. I've eaten a lot of Thai food including in The land of Smiles and this ranks right up there with most meals We've had. Surroundings are not luxurious but are is comfortable and spotless. Our only regret was not picking a night to go when the Elvis impersonator was singing, We had left our trip here towards the end of our stay so didn't get back to hear him. Will definitely go back on our next trip.

The pad see yew was flawless but the red and green curries were sorely lacking and overly sales and not too sweet. Better luck next time.

This restaurant is so yummy and affordable. It is located on Hollywood BLVD. and has plenty of room for big parties and offers entertainment throughout the week. There used to be an awesome Thai Elvis, but he recently moved back to Thailand. They do, however still offer other entertainment. The food is very authentic and affordable (lunch prices are awesome for the portions) however, the service is not always the best. Either way, this is the spot for good thai in LA/Hollywood

We visited for dinner, we have never been to a Thai restaurant like this before. It was a family restaurant and everyone seemed very happy. The food was average, one of the dishes we ordered did not appear. We paid our bill and no change was offered, not very professional. We would not return but clearly it's a family restaurant.

The Thai Elvis rocks! hahaha Ok, the food is good. Always crowded but worth the wait.

When I visited LA, we were here twice because it was that good. I had the Chicken Pad Thai and my boyfriend had the Red Curry, all on both occasions. And we were shocked at the price. It was very reasonable compared to where we live. Apparently on a certain night, an Elvis impersonator comes out & sings but I never caught him live. Next time we come back, hopefully we will!

Located at the end of Hollywood Bvd, this is a good surprise. You must be free of the street populated by sdf (there is the army of salvation not far), you will find a guarded parking 2min from the restaurant. Once in front, we still have to make an effort because the room does not really make you want. We are in the canteen atmosphere. But, the welcome is effective, the dishes are as advertised and very good! Cocktails aren't amazing, though.

This Restaurant is amazing, they recently moved to a bigger location but thats all that changed. The food is out of this world, and their ground chicken with rice is my favorite. This Thai restaurant has very good service, and their attention to detail is shown by the different souveniers on the wall. The karaoke is something that you have to see! they have an elvis impersonaor come out every friday and saturday night, and he sings pretty good too. The environment is ery fast paced, but it is also very relaxing if you go with friends. Their Lunch specials are a great value! Valet parking is $2.50 and its mandatory. This place is usually open till 2 AM

Very good food. Will personalize your preferences for spiciness. Service can be a little slow, but your order is prepared to be fresh and hot.Lunch menu is amazing. Great choices and includes salad with house dressing, 1 egg roll, small cup of soup and select beverages in addition to a generous portion of your entree. I took half home for the next day. I love this place. Be patient with your server. There were about 10 of us so we had to ask for water, napkins, salt and pepper. It was lunch time and they were kind of overwhelmed. Definitely one of my favorite places.

Delicious food! We all had the pad Thai combo and we should have split between the three of us. Generous portions. Highly recommended and will go back.

Walking into this restaurant, it was definitely not what I expected! A Thai place with karaoke and a band?? LOL The restaurant is ideal for large groups with family style seating. Casual dining with a laid back loud atmosphere. I ordered the green curry and a vegetarian pad thai. I was not impressed with the food. The curry was spicy despite being told it would be sweet and the vegetarian pad thai had a fishy taste to it. Portion sizes were large. Service is fast and the karaoke provides an element of entertainment during the meal. Not sure if the singing is every night, but Friday night was very busy! Valet parking is available for $3 in an attached garage next to the restaurant. Not a place I would seek out for dinner, but rather something to stop in for convenience purposes.

Thought both the food and service were very subpar. Had a bunch of different dishes and didn't like any of them. I eat Thai food often all over the world and this is some of the worst Thai food I've had. While service isn't always amazing at Thai restaurants, this one I found particularly bad. The ambience is also quite awful. Overall a very subpar meal that made me and my associate feel a bit sick after. Not recommended at all.

Tried calling ahead but was too loud for them to take my order so I decided to just show up. Service is great from security outside all the way to the server behind the bar. They asked me to pay cash which was weird but no prob and I know they take cards because the people there were paying with card. Most importantly, the pad Thai was on point after I got home. I've been Thai food hopping since moving to Hollywood and this is definitely up there with the most legit, and it definitely takes the cake for the price.

This is a great place for large families as portions are large and very inexpensive. My wife and I are around 150-160lbs and one 7.50 meal fill us up, but we usually order two meals, hot jasmine tea, a cocnut soup dish with shrimp (best!) and the bill is around $45. Parking is difficult if you want free in the area, but you can find if you search 2 minutes and willing to walk 200 feet, otherwise valet is cheap. They have live singers which is always funny to me, even in Thailand, seeing Thai people sing old American songs its very interesting. Sometimes you want them to stop singing though. They have a huge fish tank which is great for kids to watch the beautiful fish. I have to say the food was the same good quality as I had in Thailand, probably even the same price too but the portions were larger and definitely more controlled by health department lol.

Nice place to have Thai food. Reasonable prices. The Elvis impersonator does not sing on Thursdays, so it is not packed like other days. It was nice to use their valet parking. It only cost $3. This is better then parking on the street. Service was very friendly and food was tasty and promptly delivered to the table. We had a fun time!!

Great selection of food at a very cheap price. Large portions. We liked it so much we went back the next day! There is a car park for $2.50 which was handy

Love Elvis!

I was not impressed. i expected something more classy but i found just a common restaurant. The dish are large portions but not nice flavour. i was not satisfied. thai cousine it s something else.

There are a plenty of Thai restaurants in my neighborhood, but my family drives 45mins to Palms when we want really good Thai food. For us the two most important things we look in a restaurant. Good food and good service.( oh! And reasonable price). It's worth the drive.

Great selection of THAI food- including WILD options like boar, frog and more! First time visit so stayed with chicken larb salad, green beans curry paste shrimp, and Yellow Curry- Very Busy- got here just after 5pm on a Saturday night. $3 for valet parking-best bet! If you have a large group call ahead and reserve a table. Service is spotty when it gets busy- water only refilled once- tea maybe 1x without getting up and finding someone. Food very good-but remember medium spicy might be too spicy if you are used to most American Thai restaurants. I like spicy and Medium was just right! They actually brought us our check and forgot we ordered the yellow curry so we took it to go- will eat it today... They might want to add black rice to menu - brown rice ok- but started to get cold served a good 15minutes before our food. This is the place to take a group and order lots of items to share! Loud but fun - if you are a couple sit at the bar or ask to wait for a smaller table. Portions were plenty for 2 to share- if you each order something you will have plenty of food!

Lovely evening with really good Thai food and French wine. What’s not to like? Even do cocktails! Try the chilli mixed seafood, wonderful.

The service and the food was excellent, however, it was not worth the amount that we paid. $34 for a breaded chicken cutlet, and$13 for a basket of fries ( tried to assemble a kids meal) was very expensive in my humble opinion. This establishment seems better suited to business type customers.

The worst thai restaurant we have ever visited . Greasy, salty food, spring rolls hard as rock, dry chicken , horrible service - we waited 18 minutes to be recognized, no kids menu. I had stomach pain for the rest of the day. AVOID

One of the best Thai restaurants in L.A..They have a huge menu with very authentic Thai food. Service is good for this type of restaurant in Los Angeles. We eat there 3 to 4 times a month with family and friends. Love the water spinach, BBQ beef, steamed whole fish with garlic lime broth, red curry and fried whole fish. Thanks Palm Thai for the great food every time!

I always enjoy eating at this place primarily because of the FOOD!! Not only is it affordable but delicious and so worth it! The place is always crowded & noisy but we don't have to wonder why, right? Great for celebrating special & family occasions!

spicy! I've only been once, I have to go back to give a thorough review. But it seemed very authentic. And I want to see Thai Elvis.

bad parking situation, mediocre lunch, but seems to be very popular

What set Palms Thai apart from other Thai restaurants I've been to is the "wild things" portion of the menu. It includes dishes with ingredients like trout, quail, wild boar, frog and deer. It also includes unusual preparations like raw pork sausage, raw ground beef mixed with various ingredients, raw shrimp, boneless chicken feet, ground catfish and fish maw. I got green peppercorn deer curry and it was absolutely fabulous. The green peppercorns were in a bunch on a spike and added a nice flavor and texture change from the venison which was just a tad bit chewy, but moist and packing some amazing flavor and heat (I got it medium and would not have wanted it any hotter - and I like things pretty spicy). I intend to go back again and try the wild boar curry. My wife got the roasted duck curry with pineapple in a red curry. She said it was as good as any duck curry she's ever had and it is one of her favorite Thai dishes. The only disappointment was bbq chicken which we got as an appetizer. The dark meat (thigh and leg) was nice and moist, but the white meat was way too dry. I've also had better sweet and sour sauce. We got there about 5:30 p.m. on a Friday evening and had the place mostly to our selves. The service was quick, efficient and the cost is very reasonable. I'll be back again.

We were on vacation and had a friend who’s a local recommend Palm Thai. It was wonderful! Large portions and delicious. Wish we were locals so we could go back!

I stopped here for lunch on my first day in LA as it was right next door to where I was staying. It was really close to authentic and incredibly filling. Even after walking the rest of the day I didn't need to eat anything else.

Was helping a buddy at the storage facility which is in the same building and stopped here for lunch. Parking costs $2.00, a veritable bargain in Hollywood and I arrived prior to Noon so the place was kind of empty. The seating is at long tables which filled up over the next 30 minutes; I was amazed at the size of the lunch crowd. There is also a stage for live entertainment, along with a metal Elvis Statue? The menu is very complete. There is something for anyone on this menu, vegan or otherwise. The Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. Food was delicious. I will definitely put this place on my Hollywood places for a good meal at good prices.

eating in or to go, this is a great place. the wonton soup tastes like a whole chicken was used for the broth, the curries are lovely and the appetizers are portion enough for meals

Our desi taste buds were well satisfied eating at this Thai Restaurant on Holywood boulevard. The waiter was experienced handling desi visitors and could recommend.

Our meals were fresh, delicious and extremely generous serving sizes! Appropriately priced would recommend to any traveller for a quick but tasty meal!

It's a huge place, sometimes crowded that means it's popular, many options to eat, we tried 4 different options, all good, big portions. Certainly, I will go again

I am a litte bummed that Trip Advisor lsat the nice extensive review I wrote on this place but I will try to do it again. I stayed next door at the Vibe Hotel. It said that the best Thai restaurant i Los Angeles was next door. I have not eaten at everyone to compare but after having three meals there I have little reason to doubt that. The first night I had their Green Curry with Chicken. It was as good as any I have had anywhere. I had the mild spice and that was about as much as I could handle. It was just right. My wife had the beef barbecue that night. It was delightfully tender and juicy. We had their coconut ice cream for desert. It was good. The next night we returned wit friends. I had the duck over rice and spinach. It was god but the sauce that brought out in a separate bowl was way to spicy for me so I did not use it. My wife had the beef that she had before as she liked it a lot. he last day we had one of their value lunches at $7.50 each. I had the chicken Pad Thai and enjoyed it. My wife had the the chicken flat rice noodles. The enjoyed that it tired some and like it. It was very filling. Overall there serving are large so you will probably not want desert. The service was excellent and food can pretty fast. On evenings they had a singer that played guitar the arrived after 7:30PM.

Food was great, I had #52 & my mum had #88, however to be blunt, the service is shocking. Very rude, it's obvious that many of them either don't enjoy their job or don't want to be there at all. Many just stood around doing nothing, when my mum asked about her dish the waitress snapped back and refused to answer before storming off. Not exactly how you'd like your workers to act in such a busy tourist spot.

I went to this place due to the good reviews. Had a coconut soup and a curry. Now I'm at home with a terrible headache, fever and FOOD POISONING. If you care for your health, avoid this place!!!

Attended a Book Signing & later had dinner which was just what i expected. The steak was tender, juicy & done just right & the fried onion rings were crispy & delicious.

I like the location, I like the openness of the restaurant, I like their prices. What I didn’t like was that the restaurant don’t offer drink refills, no including. Food was OKAY. Nothing spectacular. Service was fast. I wouldn’t personally come back unless someone was treating me.

Lived in LA for twenty years, now in North Carolina. I visit friends twice a year and our first stop is Palms direct from LAX. The shrimp cakes. BBQ chicken, green curry with shrimp, panang Curry with shrimp is the way we start my visit.don't forget the Thai ice tea. If you are in the area please pay them a visit

Been here only for lunch, the food is consistant, a bit spicy for my taste but I guess I am getting used to it! Lunch special at $5.99 and $6.99 is unbeatable and the quality of the food is great.

My husband, his sister, and a long-time friend went there as a venue where we all could talk while we waited for our orders and while we ate. It is within walking distance of Hollywood Presbyterian Church and easy to find, a busy place that is good for family dining, popular with ordinary folk. We were there when the Golden State Warriors were on the tv screen and two different singers were performing on a stage, first a man, later a woman, both with good sounds.

We went here for dinner.we used the backdoor area, near the parking space.i was hesitant at first.,because i thought it was a bar , curious and hungry , then we went in, and saw there was an acoustic singer. We were welcome by the server to be seated..we ordered the usual pad thai, fried rice, some bbq i think thats satay, and catfish..i love the mango sauce that is paired with this fish. Forgot the name of the soup. Its sour yet very delicious.i like their service too, they are attentive to their customers. i will recommend this place because of the good service and the good food.

This place is my go to spot for the best thai food in L.A.. On Friday and Saturday nights they also have a mid-range singer perform classic songs live. It's a fun place to go for a date or with the family. Make reservations if you want a smaller table to yourself.

always busy & lively.

I was really excited to go here, saw the review about the Thai Elvis and how fun it was. The "Elvis" we saw was boring and you could barely hear him singing over the restaurant noise. The food was excellent, I'll give them that - large servings very reasonably priced. We had Pad See Yew which was very good, Curry Chicken and Potatoes that was really good and BBQ Chicken - all was really good and huge servings. $30 including tip and 3 non alcoholic beverages - great deal!!! Here's where I have an issue - we were so rushed to order, eat and get out! The waitress was nice but she was frustrated that we asked questions. The manager kept walking past with his walkie talkie looking for tables (there was no line and plenty of open tables). 3 people came to pack up our food when we finished eating and my daughter was stuck in the middle of it making her very uncomfortable. Then, as I stood up to put on my jacket, they started cleaning up the table! I reached out to take a last sip of my soda and it was gone!! We hadn't even stepped away from the table. I find that very rude! I don't know if the food was good enough to go back and be treated so rudely. There are plenty of other Thai Restaurants in the area so I'll probably try those next time!

The food was great and inexpensive. Came here with a group of 8 people and only spent $160 AND we still had left overs.

This is an excellent Thai restaurant. The flavors were excellent, the portions were very good and this has to be one of the biggest bargains you can find in Los Angeles. The prices for dinner are about what you should expect to pay for lunch. I was with a large group and we shared about a dozen dishes, one better than the next. I would recommend this restaurant highly.

After having heard positive things about this restaurant, we were really disappointed with the food. Tried several dishes, and only the marinated grilled pork was to our taste. The food reminded more of what you get in a cheap roadside cafe than in an upscale Hollywood thai restaurant. The service was also so and so, with little attention to who orderered what, the dishes were simply spread over the table, with no explanation of what was what. Busy atmosphere with little attention to us as customers as soon as we were seated. Disappointing!

Right next to Banana Bungalow in Hollywood. Super convenient and such good food! Best Pad Thai ever! The Thai tea was really good too! Lunch specials were filling!

fun and cheap and delicious thai food.

After a four week road trip with my kids through four states and many towns, this was one of the best quality meals we experienced, and was at a reasonably price. Staff really need to improve on their service, which was borderline neglibable, but I would still go back.

First of all - our group may have been complicated since we were supposed to be 10 people but only 6 of us showed up on time, so we waited for a long time. Although, while waiting we had to move tabled because "regulars might be showing up soon and will want this table". So why sit us there in the first place? The restaurant was practially empty when we got there anyway... Also, one in the group ordered a drink and it had old berries in it, and the waitress said she would take it off the bill but we still had to pay for it, she just gave us a discount... The food wasn't awesome but it was OK. Like a Thai restaurant, but like any Thai restaurant. Could've paid less in a take out place. There was live music, which was quite nice, yet confusing. There was a girl looking like a boy (or the other way around, we couldn't tell) singing covers. Pleasant, but a little awkward since the place was pretty dead. And - to top it all off. One in our group was gluten intolerant and has asked twice if her order had gluten in it, and the waitress said no. After eating half her portion, the waitress came out and said that actually it had gluten in it. So our friend started freaking out, knowing she would be in alot of pain and her stomach would be upset for days, and she threw up in the bathroom a couple of times. Not the best mood or vibe, if we put it like that. So, to sum up... Not fantastic food. Old, hard berries that you still have to pay for. They don't keep track of ingredients (which is major flaw, someone could get really sick, or die?) and since the manager wasn't there that night, no one was in charge. The staff didn't know what to do and felt kinda lost. Might have a good rep, but I wouldn't recommend it or come back if I return to LA.

I know this is a go-to Thai spot in town, but I think the star has burned out on this one. The food is decent (not WOW), and the service is...sporadic. We got our food at INSANELY different times (we actually assumed they had just forgotten about a couple of our dishes, which were brought out after we were almost finished). Biggest problem: the staff isn't integrated - if you have one waiter/waitress - good luck getting help from any of the other waitstaff. Pet peeve of mine is also being left without water or not being asked if we want another drink, and our cups definitely stayed empty for far too long to be comfortable. I would suggest trying one of the other places nearby.

Traditional Thai restaurant. Great food, really fast service, nice ambient and decor. A piece of Thailand in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. We really enjoyed our dinner

Been coming here for YEARS. Prices are good, affordable lunch specials everyday. Huge selection. Restaurant is clean and delivery is quick and always correct. Oh and the food is delicious. Particularly the fried rice. YUM!!!!

The first time I ate there I had a rarer food item, and it was delicious. Then I went back a second time and ordered Pad Thai, a standard Thai item. I found it to be bland and average in spicing. Perhaps this is because the average LA palate is not used to spicy foods. Just as importantly, it lacked delicacy and that special balance between sweet and hot. Still, its easy to get to, the food is pretty good, and just as importantly, it has its own parking garage which is MAJOR for LA.

yummy cheap thai food. plus, the elvis presley impersonator always adds entertainment to the mail.

Great Thai food for that price!!! Gotta stick around for Thai Elvis....

This restaurant located in the fringe of ThaiTown is popular with other chefs after work. The restaurant is one hugh room with a Elvis impersonation show stage at one end and many tables lining toward it.730 PM. We visited the restaurant around 4 PM and there were fair number of customers. The food over all was very good and the service prompt and without fuss. Parking in the back and would definitely come back.

This place is huge, service is attentive, food comes out quickly and fresh. Always tasty, best in LA!

It has been 5 years since I had been to LA, during that time I have dreamed about eating again at Palms Thai. It seems that time has taken it's toll on this restaurant. Arrived on Monday Feb 16 for dinner about 7 p.m., the place was basically empty but no one acknowledged me and 2 other later arrivals were seated from the back door. I moved from the street door to the back door, still waited about 5 more minutes before I was acknowledged. I was apologized to, was told they thought I was leaving. Okay. The big disappointment was the food...not the quality that I and my guest were expecting. The shrimp in my dish was over cooked and the dish was dried out as if it had been under a heat lamp too long. I don't remember what my guest ate but he commented that his was okay...not a good sign. We have eaten better Thai food in Dallas, where we live, but my 2 previous visits to Palms Thai were so outstanding that they were top in my list for great Thai food, sadly no more.

It was very nice there! The Food was yummi and the stuff was nice! In my eyes the location was kind like boring! No atmosphare. It doesn't look very Thai. But we come back.

I personally haven't seen him there AKA the owner sings. The food is awesome!! Everytime I am in Hollywood, I must eat there!! The place is alway busy and most time you get seated fast. The parking is street parking. I usually stay nearby on Hollywood blvd..so I walk over there. The spring rolls are a must appetizer. The sweet and sour chicken with thai sticky rice is what brings ne back everytime!! Staff are super fast and friendly.

I think this is Thai Town, but what do I know. It was very good (and spicy) but my western palette was sad there was no white meat.

Ordered food online for my old folks. Charged my card, delivered to the wrong address, and never got a refund. Palm Thai refused to correct the problem. The phone number reflected on the delivery note does not accept phone calls. Will never go back or order from this restaurant again.

Great food, not every restaurant in thai town is even good, but this is one of the best. There's parking too

This was a most welcomed surprise! Palm offers some of the most authentic and delicious Thai food I have had in a very long time. Every single dish was exquisite.

Super cheap and pretty authentic! Best chicken pad thai I've had in LA.

I'm only writing this review because I feel the owners / chefs need to know that their food was really not up to standard. Every starter (I mean every) was a deep fried only option, our mains were virtually tasteless and my sticky rice was so sticky I needed a knife. Perhaps it's because it came out 10 minutes before my main meal was served.

Good Thai food. On the ghetto side of the hollywood freeway....but that's ok.

A pretty good Thai-Americanized kind of place in Hollywood. Elvis impersonator on a stage sometimes gives performances. Neon signs everywhere. Try the curries, grilled fish with spicy chili sauce, any of the wide rice noodles, and tangy soups. Valet and street parking available.

Whenever we are in Los Angeles this is a place we stop by every time. The food is absolutely delicious. They give you a lot of food for a great price. I always get the fried tofu, beef salad, extra spicy tom yom soup. I think that us how you pronounce it. It is the sour soup with shrimp, mushrooms, and other vegetables in a red broth. But it doesn't come as spicy so if you like it spicy make sure you ask for them to take it spicy. The fried beef jerky and pad Thai is also delicious. I haven't really tried the other fudges because I always order the same stuff every time because it tastes very good.

Yelped this spot for lunch and so glad we did! The atmosphere is not as ritzy and nice if that's what you are looking for but food and service make up for all that! Coconut soup was full of flavor and had a spicy kick to it. Pad Thai w fried tofu was delicious as well. The fried wontons were good crushed up into our soup but just by itself was not all that. Overall was a good experience!

The portion sizes were very generous and delicious. My wife had the ginger chicken and I had the holy basil chicken. I did not rate excellent as my dish had excessive garlic for my taste..I was not able to finish it, although yes it was very good. I had it medium and it was spot on to my taste

Delicious, amazing and tasty food. Everything we had was super delicious, food for kids were also perfect. I love spices and have had the best spicy food. Highly recommended to all

Worst thai food ever, do not come here if you want nice thai food, I ordered Tom yum soup but is more like spicy soup no Tom yum taste at all. Staff were rude and n proud is like they're customers and you're their slave

I had moose!

We are from Thailand and found the food to be authentic and delicious. With over 100 selections you will find something to love!

The dishes were big and tasty, the prices are very affordable and the service was nice. we will back again!

Good food, great Thai Elvis impersonator!

I love Thai food and this place does not disappoint. Prices are very reasonable. I tried the tiny cucumber salad for a dollar and then had the Pad See Ew. Both were amazing. Great service. It’s a giant room with big long tables so I bet when they are busy it can get noisy in there. Nice place. Would go back.

Loved this place I wish it was around where I live! Spent 20$ for two beer and two huge plates of pad Thai yummmm can't go wrong!

Very authentic Thai food. And who doesn't love a Thai Elvis!

Best Thai in town! There is an extensive menu ranging from vegetarian dishes to wild dishes such as trout, deer and even frog. The restaurant is always busy on weekends and can get pretty loud at times when full to capacity, but if you want the food, but not the noise they deliver and you can always pick up at the restaurant. Though if you are planning on going on the weekends, call in to make a reservation and ask when "Thai Elvis" will be performing as he is a local celebrity and his performances next to the 7 foot tall Elvis statue are a lot of fun and really make the whole meal an experience that your guests will brag about once they get home. Great food, great fun; never need an excuse to go.

Food is pretty good- but the #1 reason of going is to see Thai Elvis perform!

we recently stayed in West Hollywood and came across this restaurant. We love Thai food and have travelled to Thailand on many occasions and highly rate the food at the Palm. It was a popular place and food was served quickly. Kids loved the red curry. They also have free refill (soda) which the kids thought was pretty cool. Not far from the Hollywood/Western or Hollywood/Highlands Metro station. There is parking on site. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

I've been here twice before, and was there again recently. It gets pretty packed, but for good reason. The food is absolutely delicious! Lots of vegan options and wild things to try. Love coming here!

This is a great "introductory" level Thai Town restaurant. The food is mostly authentic. I recommend the fried trout with Mango Sauce, the green papaya salad and the Musuman Curry. The food is on the spicy side even if you order it mild, at least that is what I am told, I like spicy and order it hot. Parking is easy and the menu is accessible. There are better places in Thai Town but this place is "user friendly" and if you come at the right time you can see the famous Thai Elivis impersonator.

Atmosphere was poor, service was slow and unhelpful, and some of our food came out cold--and it didn't come out at the same time. Not recommended, especially when there are so many restaurants to choose from.

went here quite a few times during college years with friends for events such as birthdays or late night eating after clubbing in North Hollywood area. Most of the dishes I've ever had there were always good, such as Tomyum soup, pad thai, mango salads, saute dishes, fried rice, some appetizers (forgot their names)...etc.

Fun place!

love the steak salad, tom yum soup, and papaya salad

I would suggest going during the week because this place is slammed on the weekends. The food is always good and the service is great. I enjoy the fact that they always have live entertainment on the weekends but I do miss the Thai Elvis! Thanks for so many great meals and great memories!

First time to eat at this restaurant and it was a Sunday night. The place was packed! The food, I felt, was authentic Thai especially their fried rice but I wished there were booths because all they had were tables and chairs.

We had awesome meals here!!! The portions are generous so we took home leftovers and had them for supper the next day. I would eat there again and again if we lived in Hollywood.

I stumbled onto this restaurant last summer then tried to locate it again this summer but it was closed for renovations. The Palm Thai restaurant had the best menu I have ever seen at any Asian food restaurant. The menu literally covered every entree that could think of and much more. I got the crispy Duck and it was delicious. The food and the prices were great here. It had a really cool vibe. Initially I noticed this restaurant because it had a wild Zoltar-looking machine at the parking entrance.

Stumbled upon this great place, that has fantastic food and reasonably priced drink. Would definitely recommend

Nice place with good Thai food . To try the roasted duck and spring rolls . The waiter was really friendly . Plenty tables to have a comfortable lunch

On a Saturday evening, this restaurant is very busy. It provides valet parking, live music, not to mention the excellent food. Be prepared for some waiting before getting seated. For a quiet chat choose another place, because of the noise level you're lucky to understand every second word of your partner. The three of us went there for dinner, and all the three dishes we ordered turned out to be clever choices. The first one was a yellow chicken curry, followed by a mixed seafood platter and a chilli basil chicken. Meanwhile, there were several B.D. celebration and after some very entertaining performance, the cute singer sang the " Happy B.D. to you" with a suave voice. The Elvis impersonator followed her on the stage, but I only realized from the songs, that he should have to be Elvis. He had the will, without the voice. Even in this very busy restaurant, we had fast and attentive service, and the prices were reasonable.

Where options for good and cheap Thai place abound, this is one of the few that is spacious, accepts reservations, and has live music. Also a level up in terms of ambiance compared to the hole-in-the-walls in Thai town. I came here with a huge group, say 30-40 people and yet we only took up half the place. The long table was full so 5 of us overflowed into a smaller table next to it. Problem was, there were only 4 settings and chairs so we asked for another one to be put at the head of the table. Our request was declined being that it would be a hazard for servers passing by - I promise, there was so much space for two people to walk side by side. We said we'll move the chair as the 3rd on one side but no, this server was annoyingly and unnecessarily strict. Shortly after she left, we asked another server and we were accommodated so kindly. It was night and day. In terms of food, their lemongrass soup with coconut milk known as Tom Ka Khai was decent. I found the texture grainy and the broth too milky. Having had better Pad Thai, I still enjoyed their take on it. Meanwhile, their fried Catfish served with Mango Salsa on the side had a beautiful golden and crisp breading. The salsa was definitely a necessity for flavor and it worked well together, however, I found myself wishing it was Thai chili sauce instead. It's definitely great for big parties but wouldn't be my first choice for Thai food when in the area.

Very busy Thai restaurant and very loud. Service was good, food only average at best. However: we had mange with sticky rice as a desert. This was great! I can highly recommend the desert, this made it an overall good experience.

We were told the food would be ready in 15 minutes and it took 45 and much hassling for it to come to us - without apology or any goodwill freebies. Really bad service. Food itself was fine but not worth the wait!

I know it is a popular place, but we had a bad experience. The service was awful! The dishes didn't come together; the noodles were partly cold partly medu=ium hot. Some of the dishes were totally cold. The rice came in a bowl without a cover, so it became cold really fast, The place was crowded and noisy. The only thing good is the valet parking which cost 4 $. And the shows are "every day" besides Mondays and Thursdays.

Good place to eat near the Hollywood Boulevard. As we have seen the high prices on Hollywood Boulevard, we were already giving up and wanted to go somwhere else we accidently saw that place and stopped. We were surprised by good prices and the good quality of food. Not tourist trap. It is even worth to come extra here for eating. It is a insiders' tip for Hollywood visitors.

The Thai Elvis impersonator is amazing but if you don't appreciate him, you can come in for lunch or many weekdays when he's not performing. The food is great and reasonably priced. My favorite place to take visitors to LA. It's in a back neighborhood of Hollywood a bit. Was featured on TV so tourists may be hitting it by now.

So very good! I love this place, what can I say? I didn't know what to order so my Thai-knowledgeable friend ordered several dishes. Every single one was amazing! I will definitely return and try more. Go a little early for lunch if you want to avoid large crowds!

Busy place in Hollywood Authentic Thai Food at Reasonable prices they cook to your specs on the Heat level ( How Spicy ) at Penang Curry, Chicken Sate, Tom Yum Soup and Pad Thai Brown Rice Tasty and brought home left overs.

The restaurant can get crowded and wait times can be long. It is recommended to make reservations beforehand. The food is silky and has lots of flavor. Parking is available on the streets or valet at the back for $4. Very good Thai food.

But nothing to rave about either. The rest was empty when we first entered but it soon filled up. We had the Tom Yam soup which was nice. The Star of the show for me was the yummy massmun curry, the rest was forgettable unfortunately.

great food and even entertainment (Thai Elvis!)

Thai Elvis and an 8 foot metal Elvis statue...Just the ambiance alone warrants a visit.

cheap and lots of food

Can get really busy on weekends, so try to reserve ahead of time if possible or else you will probably end up waiting for 15-20 minutes. Portions are tasty and huge, and we could use leftovers for another whole meal the next morning. Live music is well-intentioned, but poorly implemented.

Palm Thai is our family choice place for great Thai food in Los Angeles. First of all, that might be the only Thai restaurant in LA that has parking attendants to take care of your car. Why? Because Palm Thai is almost always busy. We don' t mind the wait though... Great food is the reason. Over 100 items on the menu from traditional pad Thai to rather interesting deer meat dish with a few cool choices in between. Chicken coconut soup is great. And our absolute favorite is chicken pineapple fried rice. Get a glass of Thai iced tea or any beverage of your choice and dig in. If you are up for some entertainment, Thai Elvis will provide it for you, although his singing would not be the reason why we eat there as often as we do.

Spicy Food & Dig Elvis

This place is awesome! The food is great, portions are BIG, prices are cheap and the staff is beyond friendly. Also the restaurant decoration makes you feel you are actually in Thailand. :)

Everything is GREAT here. Definitely one of my fave Thai restaurants to go to. This place is very big! So it can fit a lot of people. There's a garage where they will valet park your car for $2.50. This is a great place when you have a large party dining. They accept reservations. Plus, they let you bring cake and will give you a cake cutter, plates and forks AND free candles! They even sing you happy birthday! All in all, I loved this place and I'm definitely coming back. The green curry is to die for. I can't wait to come back and try some of my other Thai favorites!

Undeniably, the best Thai food in Southern California topped with an Elvis impersonator. Favorites include the Panang and Pad Thai. $

Wow, I ate here everyday for nearly a week - efficient, helpful, quick, delicious, cheap! Yum, I miss Palm Thai!!

The hotel staff recommended this place for Thai food. Large place with many long tables . Can get noisy . Situated near Thai Town, this place is popular with locals. Food very good , staff all Thai and very friendly, attentive. Service excellent, food was prepared perfectly . Staff is high tech, most have headsets and communicate with each other as well as the kitchen. food is served in a timely manner. Thai Elvis impersonator is funny and entertaining. Much better service than some of the smaller restaurants in Thai Town. Thumbs up.

We heard about this restaurant and thought why not try this Thai food Restaurant. The place was vibrant and busy. By the time our dinner was served, it was crowed. However, we did not enjoy the food here. Chice of Veg food was limited

i came from sydney australia and love spicy food, but if you stay at hollywood area its a bit of walk, if you can find taxi to go there or else friends drive it. The Tom yum Soup is really spicy good luck trying.

Its a fun place to eat... You get to see Elvis..

This place was great, right next to our hotel and open late! We ordered take out and had a drink while we waited. Yummo!

My husband dragged me here one night when I was very tired. I found it too be incredibly noisy and crowded inside, so I never went back. It's the type of noisy where sounds bounce off the walls. They need to put some plants in there to give it more ambience and absorb some of the noise. However, the food is top notch and authentic. My husband and daughter return there time and time again. I can't go back, though, because I find the noise deafening.

I've had a better thai food.

i love elvis! food's not bad either.

went there with 2 families, 3 small kids last weekend - parking with $3 valet fees is great plus, given parking is tricky all around this area - very affordable food, much less than I would expect similar restaurant in bay area, CA (where I am from) - service was just ok, lot of people that sunday evening - apparently have live music, wasn't playing when we dined - food quality was good, everyone loved it - wish they had better tea options

Great Thai food and Elvis to boot! Very spicy without even asking, so watch out!!! Extensive menu, so lots of good stuff to choose from at decent prices. Will try again for sure.

Good value Thai food and no need to book, even for a large group. They have excellent green curry and massaman curry, and also a great veg fried rice. There is a live musician in the evenings, and on site parking/valet available. Good for family groups
Great price, solid food
If you're looking for some Thai food in the Hollywood area, this is the place to visit. The service is quick, the food is solid, and there's even live music at night. There are no frills here, but you'll find all the dishes you love, and you'll leave full and happy.
